- 0:08Speaker 1: Well, in the words of mister Big, when it's through,
- 0:10Speaker 1: it's through, Fate will twist the both of you. So
- 0:13Speaker 1: come on, baby, come on over, Catherine, what's next?
- 0:16Speaker 2: You've walked away? Let me be the one to show
- 0:19Speaker 2: you is it?
- 0:19Speaker 1: Let me be the one to show you You're with
- 0:21Speaker 1: no dribble strapping. Hello and welcome to No Dribles Friday
- 0:37Speaker 1: or Edition.
- 0:39Speaker 2: My name's Caroline Swindell. I lose ellis okave Cox.
- 0:44Speaker 1: Good lovely voice, said Katherine stepped away, presumably to go
- 0:48Speaker 1: to the bathroom. But we are going to press on
- 0:52Speaker 1: because it's Friday morning. Diamonds have been in camp for
- 0:57Speaker 1: a week. Sun Cops. Supernetball is just a distant memory.
- 1:00Speaker 1: But one thing we didn't talk about was there's a
- 1:02Speaker 1: lot of other netball that went. We're on around the
- 1:04Speaker 1: country last weekend too, so New South Wales junior state titles. Now,
- 1:10Speaker 1: I know people think we're too New South Wales centric,
- 1:12Speaker 1: and I think that that is a valid perspective. But
- 1:15Speaker 1: do you know this is the largest netball event in
- 1:18Speaker 1: terms of participation in the Southern Hemisphere.
- 1:21Speaker 2: I think it's one of the biggest community sports events
- 1:24Speaker 2: netball anything.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Yeah, thousands of players joining out there to play and
- 1:31Speaker 1: this is the thing.
- 1:32Speaker 2: You know.
- 1:32Speaker 1: So the Super Netball Grand Final is obviously amazing and
- 1:37Speaker 1: it's important, but it's only one thread of the great
- 1:41Speaker 1: netball community that we are part of.
- 1:43Speaker 2: It is and do you know every state has these
- 1:47Speaker 2: events and they are fabulous, not just for the netball
- 1:50Speaker 2: that gets played, but for the dress ups. So dads
- 1:54Speaker 2: often get in their own dress up, yes, and lose
- 1:58Speaker 2: their voices and it's fantastic. So I love, I do love.
- 2:01Speaker 2: I think we've talked about this before. I love senior
- 2:02Speaker 2: and during your state champs. So yeah, in New South
- 2:05Speaker 2: I've had their junior one this weekend, just gone. It
- 2:07Speaker 2: was fabulous. And that is Chile.
- 2:11Speaker 1: But there's something going on up in Queensland. I think
- 2:13Speaker 1: that Laura Langman's playing it. Does anyone know anything about that?
- 2:17Speaker 3: Is that not? Maria tityres one.
- 2:20Speaker 1: I don't know, and said, talk about what Laura Langman's doing,
- 2:26Speaker 1: and it's like, I don't know what Laura Langman's doing.
- 2:28Speaker 1: But as I like, because I'd love to know what
- 2:29Speaker 1: Laura Langman's doing. But clearly we don't know anything about that.
- 2:32Speaker 1: So that's put that down as a to be investigated.
- 2:37Speaker 2: I just assume whenever anyone says, what's Laura Langman doing,
- 2:39Speaker 2: like she's running marathons or triathlons or climbing mountains or
- 2:44Speaker 2: doing something unbelievably impressive, something something amazed. Yeah, what's Laura
- 2:49Speaker 2: Langman doing something amazing and outstanding? Yeah, I can't tell me,
- 2:53Speaker 2: but that's what it will be. Yeah, but Katherine, what
- 2:55Speaker 2: are you doing.
- 2:58Speaker 3: Going to Queensland? Because this will be Friday, so I'll
- 3:01Speaker 3: already be in Queensland obviously everybody and going to see
- 3:06Speaker 3: the fan. But then we're also going up north North
- 3:08Speaker 3: towards Bundy for a bit more warm weather for just
- 3:13Speaker 3: a week to chill. And I'm very excited about it
- 3:16Speaker 3: because as soon as I get back, I've got about
- 3:18Speaker 3: a week of pre before Calm game start.
- 3:20Speaker 2: Oh and are you going to Glasgow in the studio?
- 3:26Speaker 2: Oh right, I can't say Glasgow normally, I have to
- 3:31Speaker 2: say it like that. I'm to start. It's in the contract.
- 3:34Speaker 2: So you're you're doing it from the You're doing it
- 3:36Speaker 2: from the studio in Sydney, yes.
- 3:39Speaker 3: Yeah, so with Kim Green.
- 3:42Speaker 1: Yes.
- 3:42Speaker 3: So when I get back, I'll get my head around
- 3:43Speaker 3: all those stats and teams and who's whearing, who's doing
- 3:46Speaker 3: what and all of that.
- 3:47Speaker 2: Lava have Jamaica announced team yet? They have not? Okay,
- 3:54Speaker 2: but I heard.
- 3:57Speaker 3: George is playing now. Oh remember Gordy said on the
- 4:01Speaker 3: podcast last week.
- 4:02Speaker 2: Yeah it was not.
- 4:03Speaker 3: Yeah, apparently she is now.
- 4:05Speaker 2: That'd be great, that'd be great.
- 4:07Speaker 3: Well then, exactly, it makes them now a bit more
- 4:09Speaker 3: of a threat. Yeah, they've got something, a big target
- 4:12Speaker 3: up the front who's in good form.
- 4:14Speaker 1: I'm also glad that Ramelda gets to finish her career.
- 4:18Speaker 1: I guess, you know, fever being bundled.
- 4:20Speaker 2: Out of the finals.
- 4:22Speaker 1: It's sort of like it is an incredibly long and
- 4:25Speaker 1: glorious career, and I think it's nice that we get
- 4:28Speaker 1: to see her playing again on the international stage.
- 4:31Speaker 2: And I mean's short.
- 4:32Speaker 1: Surely she's finishing now, like like, remember, she can't go
- 4:35Speaker 1: another year, can she likes? There is not enough tape
- 4:38Speaker 1: in the world to hold legs together after that many
- 4:41Speaker 1: games of netball.
- 4:42Speaker 2: I wouldn't have thought.
- 4:43Speaker 3: Well, apparently all of the speech at their gala dinner
- 4:46Speaker 3: was that she's not going anywhere. She wants to keep playing,
- 4:49Speaker 3: so ah, who knows. I can't imagine it's going to
- 4:54Speaker 3: be in wa though, because it fell and Emma back.
- 4:56Speaker 2: But well that's very interesting, and what do you care
- 5:01Speaker 2: the record's.
- 5:02Speaker 3: Gone right, No, exactly she can play.
- 5:03Speaker 2: She retired last year. That would have been helpful.
- 5:06Speaker 1: But now.
- 5:09Speaker 2: I going to be lovely Catherine. Two weeks with your
- 5:11Speaker 2: family in Queensland.
- 5:13Speaker 3: Yeah, hopefully it's more than not raining. We'll see how
- 5:15Speaker 3: we go.
- 5:16Speaker 2: And Elizabeth, what do you do now?
- 5:18Speaker 3: I mean, I know netball doesn't stop, but don't have
- 5:21Speaker 3: the super neple to think about.
- 5:23Speaker 2: Yeah, netbork just doesn't stop. Someone said to me last year,
- 5:26Speaker 2: do you get some time off? No? No, because the
- 5:29Speaker 2: next thing we'll roll into will be common games. I'm
- 5:32Speaker 2: not going to the Commonwealth games. I'll be watching from
- 5:36Speaker 2: home and I'm very you know, I'm actually looking forward
- 5:41Speaker 2: to getting up for netball in the middle of the
- 5:42Speaker 2: night and maybe not football in the middle of the night.
- 5:44Speaker 2: So that'll be treat.
- 5:46Speaker 1: We don't have to get up for that anymore. That's done.
- 5:48Speaker 2: That's but you know, a little fella likes you know,
- 5:51Speaker 2: he loves Portugal and he loves so he will still
- 5:54Speaker 2: be getting up he's football man. But yeah, so no
- 5:58Speaker 2: break really, so games and then Constellation Cup, and then
- 6:04Speaker 2: you know, in August we'll do a big celebration for
- 6:06Speaker 2: one year to go to the World Cup. And there's
- 6:08Speaker 2: an enormous amount of work going on to deliver that.
- 6:10Speaker 2: So like it's like really now until August next year,
- 6:14Speaker 2: it is just absolutely just a Treadmillly is pumping hard.
- 6:19Speaker 2: So I'm I will take a week off in the
- 6:22Speaker 2: first week of December, I think, and until then it's
- 6:24Speaker 2: just all systems go.
- 6:25Speaker 3: Well, I'll have a little rest on your behalf. Sound
- 6:29Speaker 3: like you're going to get one anytime.
- 6:30Speaker 2: So no, And it's a school holiday, so you know,
- 6:33Speaker 2: I don't know, I'm gonna have to think of things
- 6:35Speaker 2: to do with the children.
- 6:41Speaker 3: What are you going to do? How are you going
- 6:42Speaker 3: to cope? Well, your weekends free, You'll.
- 6:45Speaker 2: Have to come up with some other reason to drink.
- 6:48Speaker 1: I have, Well, I have a lot of things that
- 6:51Speaker 1: I didn't do at them. So I'm trying to finish
- 6:54Speaker 1: a book and I will I will knuckle down and
- 6:56Speaker 1: try to get back to that. But finally, last week,
- 6:59Speaker 1: while I was in hands, I had to my acting
- 7:02Speaker 1: agent Rang means that I've got an audition for you.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Are you actually she was trying to contact me all
- 7:06Speaker 1: day and we're out on the reef and it's like,
- 7:08Speaker 1: they want you for an audition today at three o'clock.
- 7:10Speaker 1: This is for an ad campaign. And I didn't get
- 7:12Speaker 1: this thing until afterwards, So contact you and said sorry
- 7:14Speaker 1: about that too, And she came back to me and
- 7:16Speaker 1: she said, well, they want to zoom audition you tomorrow.
- 7:19Speaker 1: They're extending they see you interested in it, So yeah, okay,
- 7:22Speaker 1: I will. But so what I did was even worse
- 7:24Speaker 1: than having doing a podcast with your family around, is
- 7:27Speaker 1: doing an acting audition and having to banish them to
- 7:31Speaker 1: bedrooms in the Airbnb apartment that you were staying on.
- 7:34Speaker 1: So I had to get the laptop set up in
- 7:36Speaker 1: front of me. I got this, I found a step ladder,
- 7:38Speaker 1: had a stack of books, got this up in front
- 7:40Speaker 1: of me, and had to have the bare white wall
- 7:42Speaker 1: good lighting. And then they're feeding me all of these
- 7:45Speaker 1: lines and saying, great, now can you do it as
- 7:48Speaker 1: a member of like an Eastern European aristocracy?
- 7:54Speaker 2: Now can you give.
- 7:55Speaker 1: It to us as a Texan cowgirl? And like I'm
- 7:59Speaker 1: just I'm having to just respond to all of these
- 8:02Speaker 1: challenges that they're throwing up for me, which are very
- 8:04Speaker 1: fun but all the while knowing my family are going
- 8:08Speaker 1: to crucify me. They will respect this moment while I'm
- 8:12Speaker 1: in it, but as soon as I turn this damn
- 8:14Speaker 1: thing off, I am going to be mocked mercilessly by
- 8:18Speaker 1: my family. So that was that was very funny. I'm
- 8:22Speaker 1: glad I did it, but you know it united the
- 8:24Speaker 1: family and mockery of me.
- 8:26Speaker 3: Can I ask from early Christmas present?
- 8:30Speaker 1: Well, you can ask, but we like the Texas schoolgirl
- 8:36Speaker 1: right now? No, there was no Texas schoolgirl. You're wido
- 8:42Speaker 1: Texas cowgirl. No Ah, now, girl, that's very funny. Look, no, no,
- 8:56Speaker 1: maybe I will do it some stage between now and Christmas,
- 8:59Speaker 1: and then it will be in early Christmas.
- 9:02Speaker 2: But have you done that? On AI? We like you
- 9:06Speaker 2: get them write out something and then you say, make
- 9:11Speaker 2: it a poem, make it hill billy and make no,
- 9:17Speaker 2: absolutely you need to. It's the funniest scene. My sister
- 9:19Speaker 2: and I sometimes because we're you know, old and silly,
- 9:22Speaker 2: and this is what we do for fun. We'll put
- 9:24Speaker 2: things into AI and then get it to talk to
- 9:26Speaker 2: us like, oh brilliant.
- 9:28Speaker 3: I need to get onto AI far more than I
- 9:30Speaker 3: already am. I'm missing out.
- 9:32Speaker 1: Look, I'm sure people are not good. It's not good
- 9:35Speaker 1: for the planet. It uses too much energy, too much water,
- 9:38Speaker 1: and we'll put lots of people out of work. So
- 9:41Speaker 1: we should like.
- 9:42Speaker 2: It's fun and I'm not saying I don't use it,
- 9:44Speaker 2: but we do have to be judicious, we have to
- 9:46Speaker 2: be Okay, well, I think that he'll be Actually, what
- 9:50Speaker 2: was that the hill Billy poem was worthy?
- 9:53Speaker 4: Well?
- 9:55Speaker 2: Creating joy?
- 9:56Speaker 1: Right, that's bringing joy. It's like you do it for
- 9:59Speaker 1: something that don't do it? Oh, write me an email
- 10:02Speaker 1: to the schools. Right, you write your own damn email
- 10:04Speaker 1: to the school about you know something that's true.
- 10:07Speaker 2: I mean I do worry about, you know, in terms
- 10:10Speaker 2: of people losing their jobs. Maybe maybe that's what it
- 10:13Speaker 2: should be for. If it's not funny, you can't use it.
- 10:15Speaker 1: Yes, well, I think it's very reasonable because what it
- 10:18Speaker 1: can't do, and this is the thing is I don't
- 10:21Speaker 1: think it will ever get to a point where it
- 10:23Speaker 1: can replace comedians because it can't. It can't be funny,
- 10:28Speaker 1: but it can take your funny inputs like that and
- 10:30Speaker 1: give you something that then you can you can use.
- 10:35Speaker 1: So I don't have a problem with that, but I
- 10:37Speaker 1: do think we just have to be have to be careful.
- 10:40Speaker 2: Young people need to learn how to write.
- 10:43Speaker 3: Have you watched hacks Hacks?
- 10:46Speaker 1: Yeah with Jeen Smart?
- 10:48Speaker 2: Yes, no, Jean Smart? No about the about the female
- 10:54Speaker 2: comedian or is it hacked?
- 10:56Speaker 3: No?
- 10:56Speaker 2: Yeah, about the female comedian.
- 10:58Speaker 3: Yeah, that's they have they talk about. That is one
- 11:00Speaker 3: of the episodes.
- 11:01Speaker 1: Oh, that must be in the last series. I haven't
- 11:04Speaker 1: seen that yet.
- 11:05Speaker 2: That is a great show. I won't replace fun. I
- 11:09Speaker 2: won't replace sport. That's true. It won't replace it won't
- 11:13Speaker 2: replace sport. But one of the things that I did
- 11:15Speaker 2: think about, this is really off topic, years ago, was
- 11:18Speaker 2: you know, when those VR headsets came out. I do
- 11:21Speaker 2: wonder if one day we won't just we won't bother
- 11:24Speaker 2: building sports stadiums. The athletes will just play and we'll
- 11:27Speaker 2: all put the VR headsets on and pretend we're on
- 11:30Speaker 2: the stadium together and oh my god, I know, like
- 11:34Speaker 2: and I sort of wondered if that is how things
- 11:36Speaker 2: will go. I don't think that's how we're looking at
- 11:38Speaker 2: the moment, because then you can't come to a no
- 11:40Speaker 2: dribble event, So as if you know that, but maybe
- 11:43Speaker 2: if you can't get a ticket to the game, you can.
- 11:45Speaker 2: You can get a VR headset and pretend to That's
- 11:48Speaker 2: where it would be great.
- 11:49Speaker 1: Think the experience of people who can't be there, But
- 11:52Speaker 1: that whole collective emotional experience that you get watching sport
- 11:57Speaker 1: live or live theater or something that you just it
- 12:00Speaker 1: can't be replicated if you're not in a room with
- 12:03Speaker 1: other people having those same.
- 12:04Speaker 2: Sort of notional responses. At the Grand Final on Saturday night,
- 12:10Speaker 2: I was where I was sitting, just to my left
- 12:12Speaker 2: was a whole bank of Thunderbird supporters. I think it
- 12:14Speaker 2: was two thousand or three thousand, wasn't it. It was
- 12:18Speaker 2: amazing and so I think you had it been had
- 12:22Speaker 2: they not been there, it could have been a really
- 12:24Speaker 2: dull atmosphere because you know, with the with the margin.
- 12:27Speaker 2: But they just made it so amazing and they had
- 12:30Speaker 2: the tabirds chant going and it was phenomenal. I was
- 12:34Speaker 2: watching them and they were also happy and joyous at
- 12:35Speaker 2: the end, and I thought, and as you're saying that,
- 12:37Speaker 2: I'm like, yeah, you can't replace that.
- 12:39Speaker 3: Sitting in orlandro No Georgie Horges's dad had a Jester
- 12:43Speaker 3: hat on standing out in the crowd, like good on
- 12:47Speaker 3: you not trying to just be conspicuous and sit there
- 12:50Speaker 3: and you know, get right into it.
- 12:52Speaker 2: It was fantastic.
- 12:54Speaker 1: I think we need to think about as a is
- 12:58Speaker 1: it as a sport or as a spectation as the
- 13:00Speaker 1: spectators of a sport, so we really follow the emotions
- 13:04Speaker 1: of the game. And it's like when our teams start
- 13:07Speaker 1: to lose, whichever team this year is this, the crowd
- 13:10Speaker 1: goes silent, and it's like and and it takes the
- 13:14Speaker 1: players on court to turn that around to lift the
- 13:17Speaker 1: crowd back. But actually, what the crowd should be doing
- 13:21Speaker 1: is giving that energy to and that belief to the players.
- 13:26Speaker 1: And I just I don't know how that happens, but
- 13:29Speaker 1: you know, you feel it and you feel like, you know,
- 13:31Speaker 1: I certainly go to Swift's games and we've had a
- 13:34Speaker 1: lot of experience recently of things silent from the crowd
- 13:37Speaker 1: and us going and you know, someone will come over
- 13:40Speaker 1: and while start and let's go Swifts, Let's go, and
- 13:42Speaker 1: it's like, well, first of all, I think you need
- 13:43Speaker 1: to do it three times minimum to get the crowd
- 13:47Speaker 1: their own momentumity in the.
- 13:49Speaker 3: Basketball, isn't it. They always do the defense. Yeah, they
- 13:53Speaker 3: have their little things that they do consistently across the
- 13:55Speaker 3: game to keep the energy out.
- 13:57Speaker 1: Yeah, but I don't and I don't think we want
- 14:00Speaker 1: the constant pa sound. I know that there are a
- 14:03Speaker 1: lot of people in the Facebook group who talk about
- 14:06Speaker 1: how they didn't like that at the Man's it was
- 14:07Speaker 1: too loud, and that that's changed and that they're enjoying.
- 14:10Speaker 1: But there must be something that as fans we can
- 14:13Speaker 1: do where you get these super fans and that their
- 14:16Speaker 1: job is to be just a fan, but to be
- 14:19Speaker 1: those sort of hype people within the audience, because I
- 14:23Speaker 1: feel like we follow the energy as a netborn crowd
- 14:27Speaker 1: rather than create the energy, and it's like we got
- 14:29Speaker 1: so much to give.
- 14:31Speaker 2: I went to a football match, a soccer match in
- 14:35Speaker 2: Munich once at FC Bay Munich, and there was a
- 14:39Speaker 2: whole segment of the crowd who were like the hype
- 14:42Speaker 2: segment and today, for the full ninety minutes of the game,
- 14:46Speaker 2: had their arms around each other and sang and jumped
- 14:49Speaker 2: the whole game. But they had their backs to the
- 14:52Speaker 2: pitch right so they we was just watching the rest
- 14:54Speaker 2: of the crowd. Crowd, so they didn't they must do
- 14:58Speaker 2: that and then go home actually watch the and pass around. Yeah,
- 15:01Speaker 2: but it was such an amazing atmosphere and I mean
- 15:04Speaker 2: we didn't know the first thing about what was going on.
- 15:06Speaker 2: We just went and board. Our merchants sat in the
- 15:08Speaker 2: stands and we're really cultured because we've been to football
- 15:10Speaker 2: in Europe. But it was such an amazing atmosphere that
- 15:14Speaker 2: I couldn't tell you who won.
- 15:16Speaker 3: I think that's a barmie army. Yeah. Yeah. The thing
- 15:21Speaker 3: to do is just put a little buzzer on every
- 15:23Speaker 3: seat in the stadium and when you feel like the
- 15:26Speaker 3: crowd's getting a little soft, somebody just gives them a
- 15:28Speaker 3: little shot. They're a job.
- 15:30Speaker 2: I like that. Yeah, yep, good good.
- 15:32Speaker 3: You can control it very easily.
- 15:35Speaker 5: Yeah, you go places, Catherine probably maybe maybe just stick
- 15:40Speaker 5: to commentary, but yeah, the Barney Army has has people
- 15:46Speaker 5: they are employed to go, you know, the musicians, the
- 15:49Speaker 5: trumpeters and things.
- 15:50Speaker 2: They audition, they get a job, they are employed to
- 15:53Speaker 2: do this. They go along to the cricket but it's
- 15:55Speaker 2: like you're on shift here. Your job is to.
- 15:58Speaker 1: Keep the people singing and and win or lose, and
- 16:02Speaker 1: there's a lot of losing. If you're an English cricket
- 16:03Speaker 1: fan going to Australia for the Ashes they are having
- 16:08Speaker 1: a fantastic time regardless of what's going on on the field,
- 16:11Speaker 1: and it's like, that's that's something I would love to
- 16:14Speaker 1: see us as netball audiences have a think about how
- 16:16Speaker 1: can we how can we do that, how can we
- 16:18Speaker 1: give energy back?
- 16:21Speaker 3: The thinking caps on everybody or just electric people?
- 16:24Speaker 2: I think, yeah, that is a brilliant idea in between
- 16:27Speaker 2: someone doing you know, defense and electrocution. It's got to
- 16:33Speaker 2: be something that's called something in the somewhere.
- 16:35Speaker 1: That's a spectrum of ideas, and we're open to other ideas,
- 16:40Speaker 1: but to hand claps, to execution, find what fits in
- 16:43Speaker 1: the middle.
- 16:43Speaker 2: It's got to be there somewhere, right.
- 16:45Speaker 1: Sure it was an execution, It was just a little
- 16:48Speaker 1: bit of behavioral modification, I guess right, And electric current
- 16:53Speaker 1: might have been banded whatever. Well, sometimes when it's cold
- 16:58Speaker 1: to you wouldn't mind a little bit of warmth through.
- 17:02Speaker 1: Maybe we're looking at a couple of great ideas here,
- 17:05Speaker 1: or we should take a break and come back and
- 17:07Speaker 1: talk about some netball.
- 17:09Speaker 4: Yes, there is still netball.
- 17:23Speaker 1: Few there is still netball, and I would like us
- 17:27Speaker 1: to turn our minds to next month the Commonwealth Games,
- 17:31Speaker 1: because I don't know whether you know this, but there
- 17:33Speaker 1: are other teams in it than the Diamonds say.
- 17:37Speaker 2: That I know.
- 17:38Speaker 1: So who do we think are going to be the
- 17:43Speaker 1: medalists at the Commonwealth Games.
- 17:46Speaker 3: This is the problem because you just don't see anybody else,
- 17:50Speaker 3: do you?
- 17:50Speaker 1: I mean, we know the great well we do. We
- 17:53Speaker 1: know a lot of the New Zealand.
- 17:54Speaker 3: Teams will be a lot better for having their players
- 18:00Speaker 3: over here playing this season, without question. I reckon they're
- 18:04Speaker 3: actually back to being our biggest competitors it used to
- 18:08Speaker 3: It used to be more England and Jamaica sneaking in
- 18:10Speaker 3: there as the ones that we should really worry about.
- 18:12Speaker 3: We definitely have to worry about Jamaica, but I feel
- 18:15Speaker 3: like their shooting line is going to be a bit
- 18:16Speaker 3: light on good that Ramela is going to be back there,
- 18:20Speaker 3: But I reckon New Zealand's going to be our toughest
- 18:21Speaker 3: opponent this time around.
- 18:24Speaker 2: What about England?
- 18:26Speaker 1: So they do not have Helen Howsby, which is a
- 18:28Speaker 1: great shame. So who were they? Who's their shooting in
- 18:32Speaker 1: do we know?
- 18:33Speaker 3: Well? Eleanor Cardwell will be their Sasha Gasco. It's a
- 18:37Speaker 3: good shooting lineup. They've obviously got Fran Williams independense, I
- 18:42Speaker 3: think Fumi for those who will be in the site.
- 18:45Speaker 3: I'm not sure who else is in that team yet.
- 18:48Speaker 3: I'll start to do that research next week and I'll
- 18:50Speaker 3: be able to tell you all this stuff. But I
- 18:52Speaker 3: hear they're picking Nat Medcalf in the mid court for England.
- 18:57Speaker 3: I feel like that's an interesting decision.
- 19:00Speaker 2: Why was that?
- 19:01Speaker 3: Well, I don't know. I don't know that she's world
- 19:07Speaker 3: class anymore. That'll be a very consequential thing to say,
- 19:11Speaker 3: but yes, that's interesting. I'm not sure who else is
- 19:15Speaker 3: in the mid in the midport Forth and obviously no
- 19:17Speaker 3: one that's been over here playing Image and Allison oh
- 19:21Speaker 3: Image also wan to be Yeah, defensive mid court.
- 19:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 19:24Speaker 3: Interesting that she's said goodbye to just On that go.
- 19:28Speaker 1: To Nottingham, Nottingham something starting within the Nottingham No, I
- 19:35Speaker 1: don't know, Yeah, no, no, I think it's Nottingham something
- 19:38Speaker 1: starting within. But yeah, that was that was interesting that
- 19:41Speaker 1: she's farewell the Firebirds and we're going to see another
- 19:44Speaker 1: keywi in her spot probably.
- 19:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:48Speaker 2: So paul A Australia having land in pool A. I'm
- 19:51Speaker 2: just looking at the at the match schedule now. So
- 19:53Speaker 2: Catherine when you do your research, no doubt you'll be
- 19:55Speaker 2: looking at this.
- 19:57Speaker 3: But that's all I know.
- 19:58Speaker 2: So it's Australia, England, South Africa, Malawi, Tonga, Northern Ireland
- 20:02Speaker 2: and then poolb's New Zealand, Jamaica, Wales, Uganda, Scotland and
- 20:07Speaker 2: Trinidad and Tobaco. So I think we've got a tough pool.
- 20:11Speaker 3: Actually, I think it's good though, don't you, Liz, Like
- 20:14Speaker 3: you don't want to get to finals having only played,
- 20:16Speaker 3: Like if you're in New Zealand, you played Jamaica, that's it.
- 20:18Speaker 3: The rest of them are going to be easy wins.
- 20:20Speaker 3: I don't know that that's a good thing when you
- 20:22Speaker 3: suddenly get to finals, is it.
- 20:24Speaker 2: No, I'd rather be having the hard games early just
- 20:26Speaker 2: to fine tune everything, particularly a bit of a limited
- 20:29Speaker 2: sort of warm up. So I think Australia's got the
- 20:31Speaker 2: best pool to be in. I'm pleased with that pool.
- 20:34Speaker 2: I am looking forward to seeing South Africa. Like obviously
- 20:37Speaker 2: you know the teams that are most likely are the
- 20:40Speaker 2: top five, So Australia, New Zealand, Jamaica, England, South Africa.
- 20:45Speaker 2: But I'm a bit like I'm with you, Catherine. I
- 20:47Speaker 2: think New Zealand will be vastly improved from their last
- 20:50Speaker 2: turnout at the Coming of Games. And last time Australia
- 20:53Speaker 2: played Jamaica at the final, didn't they. So I don't know.
- 20:58Speaker 2: I can't. I don't want to say, can't say that
- 21:00Speaker 2: happening because Jamaica is just so impressive. But they'll need to.
- 21:04Speaker 2: I don't know what their mid courts like, so I'll
- 21:07Speaker 2: have a great defensive end. I don't know what their
- 21:09Speaker 2: mid courts like. But if I had to guess, so
- 21:11Speaker 2: I know, Carolyn wat says, to make a prediction, I'll
- 21:13Speaker 2: say that in no particular order. I think it'll be
- 21:17Speaker 2: Australia New Zealand and that's the obvious one, and then
- 21:22Speaker 2: really I think the next i'd probably go to England,
- 21:25Speaker 2: England and home. But you know what, I'm going to
- 21:28Speaker 2: go South Africa, just to throw something different out there.
- 21:30Speaker 2: If you go and on Cato South Africa.
- 21:34Speaker 3: The next start of the year, remember in the Test
- 21:36Speaker 3: series is that this year? Yeah, they beat them three, sorry,
- 21:41Speaker 3: they beat them to two of the three games, won
- 21:44Speaker 3: the series.
- 21:45Speaker 2: Okay, there you go. What are you going to go? Carolyn?
- 21:47Speaker 2: Now you're a netball on radio? Yes, thank you, very much.
- 21:50Speaker 2: Thank a live cross to me.
- 21:52Speaker 1: Thank you with the headphones on nine of you have
- 21:55Speaker 1: picked Jamaica in your top three, well.
- 21:58Speaker 3: Only because their mid court is always their area of
- 22:01Speaker 3: weakness and now they're shooting end as well. Like I mean,
- 22:05Speaker 3: if they had foul and them are they had Ramelda,
- 22:07Speaker 3: they had Nelson, my god, I would say Jamaica ten
- 22:10Speaker 3: times okay, but they don't. So I think that, you know,
- 22:14Speaker 3: there's only so much ball you can win back, but
- 22:16Speaker 3: they've got a score off it.
- 22:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I would think that they've got Ramelda.
- 22:20Speaker 2: Yeah, if they've got Ramelda and Denise Beckford, that's good.
- 22:23Speaker 2: I just don't know what they're mid courts like, and
- 22:25Speaker 2: I didn't see enough in the Test series earlier this
- 22:28Speaker 2: year to give me a huge amount of confidence in
- 22:30Speaker 2: that mid court.
- 22:32Speaker 1: I'm just one of the things I love about having
- 22:35Speaker 1: all of the inputs in super Netball is that not
- 22:37Speaker 1: only am I more excited about the Commonwealth Games because
- 22:39Speaker 1: I know more of the players better, and of course
- 22:42Speaker 1: I could watch more of the New Zealand camp and
- 22:45Speaker 1: the England comp or whatever. There's only so many hours
- 22:47Speaker 1: in the day, right, but I'm really looking forward to
- 22:50Speaker 1: the Constellation Cup too, because I just feel like, well,
- 22:53Speaker 1: we've seen so many of these players, but we haven't
- 22:55Speaker 1: we had this is brand new combinations for Australia and
- 22:59Speaker 1: New Zealand that we haven't seen. We've seen them playing together,
- 23:02Speaker 1: and I just I think it's really from my perspective,
- 23:07Speaker 1: And you know, I have said this, I've enjoyed sun
- 23:09Speaker 1: Corps Supernetble in the last couple of years much more
- 23:12Speaker 1: than I've enjoyed test Netball. I love the super Shot,
- 23:14Speaker 1: but I also just love a tournament rather than a
- 23:16Speaker 1: couple of games. I feel I much get much more
- 23:19Speaker 1: involved in it. But now I'm much more excited about
- 23:22Speaker 1: both the Comm Games and the Constellation Cup as a
- 23:25Speaker 1: result of knowing players from well, particularly from New Zealand
- 23:29Speaker 1: so much better and seeing them and like going, look
- 23:32Speaker 1: what Kate Heffernan can do when she's given her a chance,
- 23:35Speaker 1: you know, like look what Karen Berger can do. You know,
- 23:37Speaker 1: I've really, I've really loved it. Yeah, absolutely so I
- 23:42Speaker 1: think that that for me is another massive tick in
- 23:46Speaker 1: favor of us having you know, I kind of want
- 23:51Speaker 1: limited imports per team, but that's maybe because I just
- 23:55Speaker 1: want someone the Thunderbirds to give the rest of us
- 23:57Speaker 1: A bloody chance. I don't know, but I totally see
- 24:01Speaker 1: the benefit of going. Why don't we just get the
- 24:03Speaker 1: best players regardless of what their country at birth or
- 24:07Speaker 1: residence is at the moment. So I've dodged a.
- 24:11Speaker 2: Question, but.
- 24:14Speaker 3: Still waiting for my answer.
- 24:15Speaker 1: Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised to see New Zealand in
- 24:18Speaker 1: that gold medal match. And if they are, I think.
- 24:20Speaker 2: That we should be worried. Yeah, good, I hope are
- 24:25Speaker 2: hoping that. Australia. Absolutely it is.
- 24:28Speaker 1: I think it's great. It's better for the game.
- 24:30Speaker 2: Yeah, but what about it? So you've got Australia in
- 24:32Speaker 2: New Zealand in the medal positions, and what about your
- 24:35Speaker 2: yeah another near one more team?
- 24:37Speaker 1: Yeah, well, I'm going to say England because you have
- 24:40Speaker 1: convinced me I do not know actually any Jamaican mid
- 24:43Speaker 1: quarters who I can sort of hang my hat on there,
- 24:46Speaker 1: like I've really.
- 24:47Speaker 2: Got the same you've got to go to make in case.
- 24:49Speaker 2: So what if you make enough in third and you'll
- 24:51Speaker 2: just be able to once again say to me and Catherine,
- 24:53Speaker 2: I told you, so, what do you know about it?
- 24:55Speaker 1: Well, I will remind you that I was the only
- 24:57Speaker 1: one who remembered that Thunderbirds existed. When we we're pulling
- 25:00Speaker 1: together our top four teaps and I'm forgetting this year.
- 25:04Speaker 1: All right, Well, I will say I will go. I
- 25:06Speaker 1: will go Jamaica then, and I think we're going to
- 25:08Speaker 1: see I'm just going to make something up now. I reckon,
- 25:11Speaker 1: we're going to see Scotland doing a whole lot better
- 25:14Speaker 1: than we haven't expected in the past. I think CAF
- 25:16Speaker 1: Tetley is going to coach them to a surprisingly high
- 25:22Speaker 1: position on the ladder and I look forward to claiming
- 25:25Speaker 1: credit for that.
- 25:26Speaker 2: Yes, And I also think you can say the same
- 25:28Speaker 2: thing about the Tongya Talas. Oh, we've been great. And
- 25:32Speaker 2: I think unique Pelavi is in that team. Ishue not so.
- 25:36Speaker 2: I think we'll see they're ranked number nine in the world.
- 25:38Speaker 2: I think we'll see them creep up. I think they're
- 25:40Speaker 2: on the rise well.
- 25:42Speaker 1: And what I love seeing about the Tongans too. I'm
- 25:45Speaker 1: going to my phone because I had to write this
- 25:46Speaker 1: down a few weeks ago. So when the Tongans win something,
- 25:52Speaker 1: they have the the lolly necklaces. This is quite a
- 25:57Speaker 1: You've seen them when they annoint one another with the
- 26:00Speaker 1: So the loly Necklace's neck car core are. I'm sorry
- 26:04Speaker 1: my tongue and pronunciation obviously hideous there, but you've seen
- 26:08Speaker 1: it in rugby league, but Uniques family has been doing
- 26:11Speaker 1: it when the MAVs had wins, and they make these
- 26:13Speaker 1: layers out of necklaces, sorry, these layers out of lolly's.
- 26:18Speaker 2: Have you seen these? Actually? I would have said so
- 26:21Speaker 2: much harder if someone was going to give me a
- 26:23Speaker 2: Loly necklace.
- 26:23Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, and so much hard if someone was going
- 26:26Speaker 3: to give me a lie.
- 26:34Speaker 2: That is funny.
- 26:34Speaker 1: But we will definitely look forward to seeing that in
- 26:37Speaker 1: the Calm Games. I hope that Tonga gets a couple
- 26:39Speaker 1: of wins, but that's a good pick up.
- 26:41Speaker 2: Yeah, but yeah.
- 26:42Speaker 1: Constellation Cup dates have been announced in New Zealand on
- 26:45Speaker 1: the eighteenth and twenty first of October, and then in
- 26:48Speaker 1: Australia on the twenty fifth and the twenty eighth. I
- 26:51Speaker 1: think that's Sydney Melbourne. Yeah, so definitely get around those
- 26:57Speaker 1: and Liz, we should talk briefly and please dribblers, it's Sunday.
- 27:02Speaker 1: Weit a big night last night. I haven't managed to
- 27:04Speaker 1: do a whole lot of research on this, but obviously
- 27:05Speaker 1: Diamonds memberships have been announced and there's a lot of
- 27:09Speaker 1: detail we don't have, but I love this. I love
- 27:13Speaker 1: that we can buy a membership of our national team
- 27:17Speaker 1: now the way you can buy a membership to the Wallaby.
- 27:19Speaker 1: You can be a Wallaby's member. And sometimes that means
- 27:22Speaker 1: it's related to a ticketing advantage. Sometimes it's just a
- 27:27Speaker 1: way of going. I believe in this team. I want
- 27:30Speaker 1: to be a member. I want to be part of
- 27:32Speaker 1: the club that is the Diamonds. And yes, all those
- 27:37Speaker 1: geniuses on Facebook who've worked out that this is all
- 27:40Speaker 1: about a revenue play for Netball Australia, Yes, you've worked
- 27:44Speaker 1: out how the economy works. Congratulations. Money helps the organization
- 27:50Speaker 1: build a better team and better comps and we all
- 27:53Speaker 1: win from it. So it is of course it's a
- 27:55Speaker 1: way of raising revenue for Netball Australia. But that's what
- 28:00Speaker 1: our game needs. We need to get bigger. So I
- 28:02Speaker 1: love that there is a membership there.
- 28:04Speaker 2: Thank you. And I also think that this idea may
- 28:08Speaker 2: have had a bit of a genesis in dribbler chat.
- 28:11Speaker 2: So there has been lots of dribblers said with like
- 28:14Speaker 2: a membership, and yep, it's one of those things that
- 28:16Speaker 2: have come up. And yes, it is at the moment
- 28:19Speaker 2: for the Concup matches which are in Sydney and Melbourne.
- 28:22Speaker 2: But if you join then as international tests series get announced,
- 28:26Speaker 2: then you get early access to tickets, You get discounted
- 28:31Speaker 2: discounts for Diamonds membership, so there'll be a whole sorry
- 28:34Speaker 2: Diamonds merchandise, There'll be a whole lot of new merchandise
- 28:37Speaker 2: coming out in the next few months, so you want
- 28:39Speaker 2: to be able to get that early and exclusive content
- 28:43Speaker 2: from players, from your favorite players. So it is early days.
- 28:47Speaker 2: It just got launched on Saturday night. But yeah, if
- 28:49Speaker 2: you wish to support your Diamonds team, particularly in the
- 28:52Speaker 2: next twelve months, which is really important at the colon
- 28:55Speaker 2: of Games, and you know bid for the twenty thirty
- 28:58Speaker 2: two Olympics and then we've got the World Cup, so yeah,
- 29:01Speaker 2: there's just a great opportunity to support a team that
- 29:05Speaker 2: represents us. So yeah, no tickets. Well you remember, what
- 29:08Speaker 2: do we think.
- 29:09Speaker 3: About you just mentioned the Constellation Cup being in Sydney
- 29:12Speaker 3: and Melbourne. Do we think we should do another live
- 29:15Speaker 3: event or are we too much in people's faces? We
- 29:18Speaker 3: might have to think about that. Ladies, Can we just
- 29:21Speaker 3: put you?
- 29:22Speaker 2: Can I just give my maybe a few days.
- 29:25Speaker 3: No, because I'm missing everybody already. It's been a whole
- 29:28Speaker 3: twenty four hours.
- 29:30Speaker 2: Well, do you know the meat Train might sort of
- 29:32Speaker 2: have a spin off event for the blokes.
- 29:35Speaker 3: Oh can you imagine? That would be fun? Although we
- 29:38Speaker 3: did get a good flurry of the blokes at our
- 29:40Speaker 3: event the other night, of the blokes are going and
- 29:43Speaker 3: enjoyed talking about many Yeah.
- 29:46Speaker 1: My husband's got to rest on Friday night. But I
- 29:48Speaker 1: did have a couple of Dribbler's husbands sort of say
- 29:52Speaker 1: is your husband here.
- 29:53Speaker 2: It's like, no, but he's not. He's got an tonight.
- 29:57Speaker 2: I need some support.
- 29:58Speaker 3: I need some moral support.
- 30:00Speaker 2: I need my emotional support husband. Yeah, but I do.
- 30:04Speaker 1: I do like the idea of us doing something. Obviously,
- 30:07Speaker 1: the Constellation Cup in Sydney is on the weekend, whereas
- 30:13Speaker 1: the Melbourne one is on a Wednesday night, so it's
- 30:16Speaker 1: more likely if we have an event that it would
- 30:18Speaker 1: be in Sydney and maybe the night before works best.
- 30:21Speaker 1: You know, we did it a couple of years ago
- 30:23Speaker 1: before a test, but you guys had to nick off
- 30:25Speaker 1: and then I'm just to soldier on by myself. So no,
- 30:32Speaker 1: thank you. I appreciate your acknowledgment of my hard work.
- 30:36Speaker 2: Thank you. But we're going to have a quick break
- 30:37Speaker 2: and we're going to come back. I've got a question
- 30:39Speaker 2: for the goat. Okay, yes, here we are.
- 30:53Speaker 1: It's getting close to Friday afternoon. Soon we can all
- 30:56Speaker 1: knock off for the weekend. But I have a question
- 30:59Speaker 1: that has come through and I'm interested in the views
- 31:02Speaker 1: of both of you. But this comes from Willow, who
- 31:04Speaker 1: is a year eleven student from Victoria. She's writing a
- 31:07Speaker 1: persuasive speech for English about why Australia needs to invest
- 31:11Speaker 1: more in women's sport to create gender equality. She said,
- 31:15Speaker 1: I really admire everything you do for women's sports, so
- 31:17Speaker 1: I was wondering if you'd be willing to answer one
- 31:19Speaker 1: quick question. Now I'm going to ask both of you
- 31:22Speaker 1: for your thoughts on this, and who knows, maybe I'll
- 31:24Speaker 1: come up with something useful too. But Willow's question is
- 31:27Speaker 1: what's the biggest challenge facing women's sport in Australia today
- 31:30Speaker 1: and what change do you think would make the biggest difference.
- 31:36Speaker 2: I think the biggest challenge is money, right, and that
- 31:40Speaker 2: goes across all women's sports. The ability to generate enough
- 31:43Speaker 2: money to ensure you pay your play as well, and
- 31:45Speaker 2: you can invest in marketing and turn them into household
- 31:48Speaker 2: knows right, so and you know, drawing eyeballs to your product.
- 31:54Speaker 2: I think I don't know yet that anyone has really
- 31:59Speaker 2: nailed a commercial partnership which absolutely speaks to female fans
- 32:05Speaker 2: of sport, of any sport, right, it's not just netball.
- 32:08Speaker 2: And I think the first company that is able to
- 32:13Speaker 2: do that will make a lot of money, right because women,
- 32:17Speaker 2: I think women are fans in a different way to
- 32:19Speaker 2: the way that men are fans. And I think women
- 32:24Speaker 2: connect to athletes and sports through storytelling and through understanding
- 32:28Speaker 2: more about athletes more than what they do on the field. Right,
- 32:31Speaker 2: that's a gross generalization. I get that. I don't know, Like,
- 32:35Speaker 2: what's holding back with women's sport is, you know, the
- 32:38Speaker 2: large amounts of money that perhaps we see men's sport get. Again,
- 32:42Speaker 2: one of the things that pops up often is why
- 32:44Speaker 2: isn't there a men's super netball league? And that's just money.
- 32:47Speaker 2: I'd love to have a men's super netball league, but
- 32:49Speaker 2: we've got to pay our female athletes a living wage
- 32:53Speaker 2: first and well on our first. But so it is money,
- 32:56Speaker 2: and I think that that investment from corporates who go
- 32:59Speaker 2: you know what, I mean to pay a little bit
- 33:00Speaker 2: over us at the moment, but I'm actually going to
- 33:03Speaker 2: use our marketing budget to drive fans to this sport,
- 33:08Speaker 2: and then we'll get an ROI a bit further down
- 33:11Speaker 2: the line, so our investment will pay off. Maybe not immediately,
- 33:14Speaker 2: but it will pay off eventually. So I hope that helps.
- 33:19Speaker 3: Isn't that funny, the whole marketing thing. It's such a
- 33:21Speaker 3: chicken or the egg, isn't it. You raise the profiles,
- 33:24Speaker 3: the sponsors come, but you can't get the profiles worsen
- 33:29Speaker 3: unless you've got the money to invest in making it happen.
- 33:31Speaker 3: It's such a difficult one. But no, I think you
- 33:34Speaker 3: answered that well, Elizabeth, Carol, what was.
- 33:37Speaker 1: Your Well, you know, there's something I've been really interested
- 33:40Speaker 1: to think about.
- 33:41Speaker 2: You know, wherever you go.
- 33:42Speaker 1: I talked about this on Friday night at the event
- 33:44Speaker 1: that wherever you go in the world, you see someone
- 33:48Speaker 1: wearing a South Sydney Rowindos Jersey NRL team, one of
- 33:51Speaker 1: the oldest teams, got a great long history. You know,
- 33:56Speaker 1: we have a couple of clubs foundation clubs who have
- 33:58Speaker 1: a thirty year history and I think we getting better
- 34:01Speaker 1: at sort of starting to really acknowledge the history. Unfortunately,
- 34:04Speaker 1: just due to you know, financial realities, we've had clubs
- 34:07Speaker 1: that have to stop and start. You know, even just
- 34:09Speaker 1: in the last couple of years, we've had the Magpies
- 34:13Speaker 1: drop out of the camp and then will we have
- 34:15Speaker 1: a replacement, and then suddenly we've got the MAVs and
- 34:17Speaker 1: the like. But you know, then they're starting that heritage
- 34:21Speaker 1: from the get go. But I think again, as fans,
- 34:25Speaker 1: if we want to see change, like we need to
- 34:28Speaker 1: show that there is an appetite for that change. And
- 34:31Speaker 1: part of that for me is buying the merch, being
- 34:34Speaker 1: a member, showing showing that there is a there is
- 34:39Speaker 1: a market in this and you know, interested to see
- 34:41Speaker 1: in our Facebook group over the last couple of days
- 34:44Speaker 1: a number of men saying, I want to buy merch,
- 34:47Speaker 1: but it's not being offered for me. And I don't
- 34:50Speaker 1: know whether that was talking about Super Neple clubs or
- 34:54Speaker 1: Diamonds merch or whatever, but it's sort of like, I
- 34:58Speaker 1: think that that is a great way for us to
- 35:00Speaker 1: be showing brands that this is a sport that we're
- 35:04Speaker 1: interested in and if you're interested in us spending money
- 35:08Speaker 1: on your product, then you should be getting behind this.
- 35:11Speaker 1: I think what we're really good at a sport as
- 35:13Speaker 1: a sport are doing is going well, this isn't good enough,
- 35:16Speaker 1: and women's sport doesn't get paid enough, and it's like, well,
- 35:20Speaker 1: we have the power to make some change. You know,
- 35:22Speaker 1: the three of us have made some change here. We've
- 35:24Speaker 1: done this for two years without actually getting paid for it.
- 35:27Speaker 1: Yet you know, we've had a lot of fun and
- 35:30Speaker 1: we really enjoy doing it. But we're trying to create
- 35:33Speaker 1: another platform as another space where we can talk about
- 35:36Speaker 1: it rather than going well, the media is not talking
- 35:38Speaker 1: about it enough. So well, here's the conversation. I know,
- 35:40Speaker 1: Alexa Prino, you're Nepple bestI is trying to do the
- 35:42Speaker 1: same thing there too. So I think that the biggest
- 35:46Speaker 1: change for women's sport is money, but that actually it's
- 35:50Speaker 1: not waiting for some giant corporate bag of money to
- 35:54Speaker 1: start to pour down gold coins upon us, but actually
- 35:58Speaker 1: us saying I'm going to join a club, I'm going
- 36:01Speaker 1: to wear the merch, I'm going to try to invite
- 36:04Speaker 1: friends to the game who've never who's never been along,
- 36:07Speaker 1: because we know it's a great, a great product.
- 36:11Speaker 2: You're right, and I reckon. We've seen that also in
- 36:13Speaker 2: the last few weeks with the conversations on Facebook that
- 36:17Speaker 2: people are going to their local pubs and saying put
- 36:19Speaker 2: the netty on and the pieces work out they are good.
- 36:22Speaker 2: Oh if I put the netball on, people are putting
- 36:24Speaker 2: it on socials and more people are coming and I'll
- 36:27Speaker 2: buy more food and wine and beer and it's free publicity, right. So,
- 36:32Speaker 2: but it's also having the confidence to stand up and
- 36:36Speaker 2: walk up to the bar and say can you please
- 36:38Speaker 2: put the netball on? And so I think that's you
- 36:42Speaker 2: know what I hope that people get out of this
- 36:44Speaker 2: podcast and is understanding that actually there's a lot of
- 36:47Speaker 2: people doing it and have the confidence to go and
- 36:49Speaker 2: say I want to see my sport on the big
- 36:51Speaker 2: screen here.
- 36:52Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, so will I don't know whether you got
- 36:57Speaker 1: a quote out of that that's useful for a year
- 36:59Speaker 1: a leone than.
- 37:00Speaker 3: We've got our.
- 37:03Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, but our view is everyone needs to go
- 37:06Speaker 1: to the pub and watch netball.
- 37:08Speaker 2: So and you get an year eleven, you hit an
- 37:12Speaker 2: A for that, please let us know.
- 37:14Speaker 1: Yeah, but it's a really great question and for anyone
- 37:17Speaker 1: if you have a question.
- 37:18Speaker 2: For the goat.
- 37:19Speaker 1: It was the theellus being the greatest of all time,
- 37:21Speaker 1: Katherine Cox of course obviously being very close to the goat,
- 37:26Speaker 1: like the assistant goat. And I'm the assistant to a
- 37:29Speaker 1: couple of goats, right, So that's but send your questions
- 37:33Speaker 1: to info at no dribble dot com dot au.
- 37:37Speaker 2: But I think that's it's just about it. But can
- 37:40Speaker 2: I just say one thing. Last week we talked about
- 37:43Speaker 2: my acquiring a robovack, yes, and this week I just
- 37:48Speaker 2: loved it. My mum was looking out with the kids
- 37:50Speaker 2: while we were away and she ran me and she said,
- 37:53Speaker 2: I can't find your vacuum And I said, Mum, the
- 37:55Speaker 2: vacuum died. So we got the robo back. Well, I
- 37:57Speaker 2: can't turn it on, I said, huh, I can. And
- 37:59Speaker 2: I sat in the cafe the robo back at, which
- 38:02Speaker 2: was great. But I did see a couple of disaster
- 38:05Speaker 2: stories in the in the Facebook page about the Kims.
- 38:11Speaker 2: One what.
- 38:13Speaker 6: So she set the robo back out and woke up
- 38:16Speaker 6: at three am to this god awful smell and for
- 38:18Speaker 6: the first time ever her dog had poot in the
- 38:20Speaker 6: house and the robo back ran over it and smeared
- 38:23Speaker 6: it all through the house.
- 38:24Speaker 2: So she was up at three eight.
- 38:27Speaker 1: Cleaning not not only the house but the robovac obviously
- 38:31Speaker 1: needed a whole lot of cleaning then too. It's like, oh, yeah,
- 38:35Speaker 1: can you imagine.
- 38:36Speaker 2: Yeah, so that laugh.
- 38:39Speaker 1: Be warned if you have a robovack and an animal,
- 38:43Speaker 1: you need to there is there is a hazard.
- 38:46Speaker 7: Yeah at all odds we must all right, Well, that's
- 38:54Speaker 7: that's a wrap on this week a sun corpse super
- 38:57Speaker 7: Netball season where we saw so many mothers just doing
- 39:00Speaker 7: extraordinary things on court three of us, so many mothers
- 39:03Speaker 7: doing extraordinary things with a laptop and a microphone.
- 39:06Speaker 2: No, but that will be.
- 39:08Speaker 1: My writing memory. Yes, exactly, my mother thinks I'm extraordinary. No,
- 39:14Speaker 1: but that will be my overriding memory of season twenty
- 39:16Speaker 1: twenty six is not actually the necessarily any particular victories
- 39:22Speaker 1: or whatever, but actually the Emily Mannix's, the page had Lee's,
- 39:26Speaker 1: the Maddie Prowds, the help me out here? Who are
- 39:29Speaker 1: the other March, the sm Steling, and particularly Shmira's sharing
- 39:34Speaker 1: with us all the story about actually how hard it's
- 39:37Speaker 1: been for her to come back. And I think that
- 39:39Speaker 1: is a that is a sensational thing that our sport
- 39:41Speaker 1: can do that.
- 39:42Speaker 2: I don't know that other sports.
- 39:44Speaker 1: Necessarily can or have they haven't. Maybe they can in future,
- 39:48Speaker 1: but they haven't so far.
- 39:49Speaker 2: So primo. Yeah, I'm gonna go and sleep for that.
- 39:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 39:55Speaker 2: Oh, I m too.
- 39:56Speaker 3: The alarm is going off way too early in the morning.
- 40:00Speaker 1: It travels, Cat and yeah, I have a great week everyone.
- 40:03Speaker 1: I'm Carolyn Swindell, I'm Cat, Cad'm Lizelle's fine.
- 40:07Speaker 2: Bye bye, Oh my god, Carolyn, can you believe that? Catherine,
- 40:16Speaker 2: we just finished one event, you're still not over it,
- 40:19Speaker 2: You've still got stuff to slept home from Melbourne, and
- 40:22Speaker 2: she wants to do another one.
- 40:24Speaker 1: I almost wept when she said that. And it's like,
- 40:28Speaker 1: I know that we didn't really have a long production
- 40:31Speaker 1: meeting before this, because that's not our bag. But seriously,
- 40:34Speaker 1: we're announcing an event. I'm just I'm bleeding out my
- 40:37Speaker 1: eyeballs with exhaustion.
- 40:38Speaker 4: Here.
- 40:41Speaker 2: Can we outsource it to Catherine? Maybe Nikki? Yeah, well,
- 40:47Speaker 2: this is true. It would be great and it would
- 40:48Speaker 2: get done. So oh well, I guess well, I mean,
- 40:52Speaker 2: let's face it to you, so let us know. I
- 40:56Speaker 2: better go and have a rest in another drink, all right,
- 40:58Speaker 2: see ya? Bye,
