- 1:54confidence, share experiences, and stay informed.
- 1:59Join us as we tackle the challenges, celebrate the winds,
- 2:04and drive forward together. Hello everybody.
- 2:11I'm down here to the underground bunker giving veterans a voice.
- 2:15I'm truck them out and you're on the road show.
- 2:18I'm going to take my goggles off here on the road.
- 2:21We talk about issues and transportation all around the
- 2:24world, not just your big trucks and anything to get to the
- 2:27ships. There's planes, there's trains,
- 2:28anything and he has to do with transportation, transport and
- 2:31freighter people turn them out reports on.
- 2:35And today we're going to talk about the Mexican Navy training
- 2:39ship to hit the Brooklyn Bridge, the Kochemak.
- 2:44And you know, I'm not sure the exact pronunciation of it hit
- 2:51the hit the Brooklyn Bridge, lost power and went backwards
- 2:54into it. The cottage mark is a 297 foot
- 2:58tall sailing ship. And you know, it departed Pier
- 3:0217, you know, on embarked to Iceland on their international
- 3:07goodwill tour. So I mean, this is all public,
- 3:13public knowledge and all, and I'm sure he's all heard this
- 3:15before, but there's a reason I'm doing this.
- 3:17OK, so the bridge only had 127 foot clearance on on high water.
- 3:27They measured it from a high watermark 127 foot.
- 3:29So it was actually regular water, maybe 135, I don't know.
- 3:32But way shorter than 297 foot mass that the the Conchamac was
- 3:38had. So there was 2 crew members
- 3:41killed. There was Cadet America Yamlit
- 3:45Sanchez and a sailor Adele Javier Marcos.
- 3:53That's the reason I'm doing this about this here incident,
- 3:56because see these two people here, these two young people
- 4:00were trying to do something for themselves.
- 4:03You know, they went into they were cadets in the Navy.
- 4:05I don't know if they're going to be the Mexican Navy.
- 4:07I mean, I don't know if they're going to be officers what it
- 4:10was, but they were training and, you know, they were trying to do
- 4:12something. The the girl America, she, you
- 4:17know, I think she was 20 and the sailor was 2223.
- 4:21It's just tragic and you know, that's why I'm doing this this,
- 4:27this segment here on that. They're supposedly put a a
- 4:30memorial down there for them near the the crash site along
- 4:33the shore or something. See that Pier 17 up there is a
- 4:36big touristy area. Man, I didn't I've never been
- 4:40there, but they got like concerts on the roof and there's
- 4:43all kind of all kind of restaurants and bars inside that
- 4:49place. So that's then they were down
- 4:51there they were they were they were barked.
- 4:53They were giving tours through to Kochemak and all that.
- 4:55So all the people you know, want to come through there.
- 4:58Several others hurt in critical condition.
- 5:02Oh, they really feel bad for them these two little these two
- 5:06young people and the ship remains docked appeared 36 and
- 5:13then it went to the over the Brooklyn Navy yards on what June
- 5:176th towed for repairs. The NTSB lost an investigation.
- 5:22OK, the NTSB lost launched an investigation.
- 5:25So did the Mexican Navy. So I heard and and as I looked
- 5:29into this, I've seen different things.
- 5:31I've seen one report that it was had a tow line attached to it
- 5:34and other reports saying that it didn't.
- 5:37I don't know, but if it was under its own power, just left
- 5:41the left the dock and they got it out far enough where it was
- 5:45under its own power, evidently. So initial reports suggest
- 5:49turbulent waters and mechanical failure contributed to the
- 5:52accident. Now if there was turbulent
- 5:54waters, OK, why did he have them cadets up there on them on them
- 6:00masks doing the ceremonial and I realized they're doing a
- 6:05ceremony for the the host country when you leave.
- 6:08And we did that on the carrier carrier.
- 6:10We all stood around sometimes on top of the, the, the flight deck
- 6:14in our dress whites or Blues and we did that ceremony.
- 6:18So this was their ceremony to the, the country.
- 6:21But if the, if the waters were turbulent and you're on a
- 6:25sailing ship, I mean, the captain should have just
- 6:28canceled that or sized it down where nobody was on the mask or
- 6:32something like that. That's my opinion.
- 6:35Then poor young two people died because of that.
- 6:40So the surviving cadets are set to resume training on another
- 6:44ship to ARM use of McIntosh. And then when they they do that,
- 6:52when they turn everything over to that the the doing Navy Day
- 6:55celebrations. And I'm not sure when Navy Day
- 6:58celebrations are. It's over June, July 4th, but
- 7:00I'm not sure when that is with the Mexican President Claudius
- 7:06Scheinman and the Admiral Raymond Pedro Morales overseeing
- 7:10the departure. So they're going to come bless
- 7:13this ship with these new the surviving cadets on it.
- 7:17And yeah, so in truck or mouse opinion, once the ship lost
- 7:24power, immediately sirens sort of have sounded to get those
- 7:28people off those masks. I realize you look OK, get the
- 7:33people when I looked at they were still up on the mess when
- 7:35it when they hit the the bridge. So I mean, they were drifting
- 7:40backwards for a little bit anyway to before they, you know,
- 7:47hit the bridge. So sirens should have went off.
- 7:51They should have got them people off the mask and then maybe even
- 7:54the maybe even the the captain should have maybe canceled that.
- 8:02And that's just trucker mouse opinion.
- 8:04And you know, that's why I did this little take care on this
- 8:07this little segment for these two young people that died.
- 8:12Now we're going to go to another ship accident.
- 8:15Won't we all know about the ship that brought down to France,
- 8:18Scott Key Bridge. Now there's more of this meets
- 8:21the eye, Morris meets the eye Singapore flag container ship MV
- 8:27Dowey. That's an easy name to say.
- 8:30MV Dowey, 947 Foot, owned by Grace Ocean, chartered by
- 8:36Merrick Merrick. Everybody heard of Merrick.
- 8:39That's the big one of probably the biggest name in in container
- 8:42ships is Merrick Merrick Mae Mazik Mazik.
- 8:49So, yeah, well, listen to this. Prior to the Baltimore incident,
- 8:54ship was involved in a collision to Port of Antoor, Belgium.
- 8:57It was damage to ship and berth. I forget what year that was.
- 9:01Let's wrote that down. It's reported by the NTSB, the
- 9:05National Transportation Safety Board.
- 9:07The ship suffered 2 electrical blackouts 10 hours before it
- 9:10even the port, 2 electrical blackouts 10 hours before
- 9:14leaving the port. OK, so that ship should have
- 9:20been grounded. So the, the crew altered their
- 9:25ship's electrical system, switched from one transformer
- 9:27and breaker system to another that had not been used in recent
- 9:31months. So this other, this backup
- 9:32system wasn't used in recent months.
- 9:36And I mean it, they did that. The reason they were trying to
- 9:42get out as quick as they could. See these container ships and
- 9:45all, they're all on a schedule. Just like when you drive truck
- 9:48and you got a load, you got a deadline to meet, you got an
- 9:51appointment time. When I first got in the long
- 9:53haul truck and I thought you go pick a load up and then you, you
- 9:57know, you get there when you kind of get there.
- 9:59That's not the case. You already have time to stop,
- 10:02take a damn shower and when you do, that's on your own time.
- 10:08So the crew did their best to get it back on and switch 1
- 10:10transfer break yourself to another had not been used recent
- 10:13months. National Transportation Safety
- 10:17Board not definitely linking the the the import blackout and
- 10:22power failures to the to the collision with the key bridge.
- 10:25So they're saying and then blackouts, they're not linking.
- 10:29We're not definitely linking the import blackouts to power farers
- 10:32that led to the collision of the key bridge of the Francis Scott
- 10:35Key Bridge. How can you not?
- 10:37How can you not link these blackouts together?
- 10:43They lost. Power again.
- 10:45The the ship should have been grounded and the reason I'm I'm
- 10:48I'm raising about this is it took down the Francis Scott Key
- 10:51Bridge, which is a limb. You may how many you may how
- 10:54many times I've been over that bridge driving truck.
- 10:58It was a landmark to the country.
- 11:00And also, you know what it meant to the people of Baltimore.
- 11:03You know, that's the ship should have been grounded to to more
- 11:10tests were taken. How many 1000 tons ship is that?
- 11:16You know, but they didn't do that.
- 11:22So evidently this is trucker mouse.
- 11:24Thoughts on this one? Evidently the electrical systems
- 11:27were not tested thoroughly enough.
- 11:29They don't take an electrical engineer to figure that out.
- 11:32They actually did not take enough testing time on them 10
- 11:39hours before and they switched it to another system.
- 11:44Now that should have been grounded and more tests been
- 11:47done even before, you know, 24 hours of, you know, of running
- 11:54it up real high and all that should have been done and
- 11:57evidently it wasn't. So now this, this, this MV
- 12:01Dally, the people that own that they got to pay all this, this
- 12:03earn some $1,000,000. But that's not, they're not
- 12:06liable for the, the bridge the way up the what I've, what I've
- 12:10looked into the, the new key bridge is going to cost between
- 12:131.7 and $1.9 billion to rebuild. That ain't going to be done
- 12:18until 28/20/28. So I mean, yeah, there's
- 12:27definitely should have been some legal things done here because
- 12:32they didn't meet protocol. I can't see any damn glasses.
- 12:39They can't. They didn't, they didn't test it
- 12:40right, man. They had people's lives in their
- 12:42hand and four construction workers killed.
- 12:44Everybody else was off the bridge.
- 12:45Why were the construction workers on there?
- 12:48They spin off the bridge too. It's probably seen it come in as
- 12:51big a ass as it is it blacked out or not.
- 12:55So I feel that they're that they're liable, man, not forget
- 13:03other than the four construction workers, I think I don't think
- 13:05anybody was killing on the ship. So, yeah, it's just a smart
- 13:15opinion, man. And it's just truck him out.
- 13:17He ain't nobody. But this should have been
- 13:20testified. Took down our took down our
- 13:22landmark. All right, well, time for a
- 13:29station break. And when we come back, I got a
- 13:38fine. I got AI can't move it up there.
- 13:43All right. Oh, no.
- 13:45Here we go. Cruel military broadcast radio,
- 15:30The station that's giving veterans a voice.
- 15:34Find us on the. Web at MB radio dot.
- 15:38Opinions expressed in this programme are those of the
- 15:40speakers and do not necessarily reflect the views or positions
- 15:45of any entities they represent. It's time for.
- 15:51Road rage. Time for road rage today.
- 16:00Chuck or Mouse going to road rage.
- 16:03I call this section here Bartenders bitch things that
- 16:07bartenders do, disrespect Trucker Mouth, he got
- 16:10disrespected the other day. He'll like it and like being
- 16:14disrespected. He's putting a hammer down on
- 16:16it. OK, You know you got these
- 16:21bartenders and I and Trucker mouth don't He don't do out
- 16:26much. He don't drink much.
- 16:27Raining up the other day I was out of place and I got treated
- 16:33some kind of way and that's what brought me to this road rage
- 16:37segment of this here. Road rage.
- 16:39I can talk about anything. I'll talk about translate.
- 16:41I can talk about anything. Road rage, man.
- 16:43So you go into a place and the bartender's walking by.
- 16:48You got your cup out there, your glass, your bottle, whatever,
- 16:50whatever you're drinking, mixed drink.
- 16:51I don't know whatever you're drinking.
- 16:53Like I said, I'll go out much. I don't drink much.
- 16:54Boom, the other day something happened.
- 16:56So you know, you walk by, leave your bottle there or your your
- 17:02glass, whatever. I just said that and then
- 17:05they're walking by like there might not be like 3 people at
- 17:08the bar or, and knowing the table is raining and you know,
- 17:11hey, can I get, you know, well, you're saying that for you
- 17:15saying that, then you're, then you're disrespectful and, and
- 17:21what they're mostly saying, basically saying they don't want
- 17:23you there. That just gets me.
- 17:26You know, I, I, I respect people.
- 17:29I respect your trade, respect, you know, respect me as a
- 17:31patron. I don't like it.
- 17:38So, you know, like I said, leaving you high and dry.
- 17:40That's one thing I can't stand. You know, you got you got
- 17:43another one. You got an air kind of
- 17:44bartender. It's constantly trying to rush
- 17:46your drinking, constantly trying to rush your drinking where
- 17:49you're you're not even like say you have a bottle of beer,
- 17:53whatever drinking and you got about that much left.
- 17:56Oh, you want that one now? Maybe at first you might say,
- 17:59OK, here, let me give me just send me quick here.
- 18:01Yeah, give me an air 1. But after, well, it's like,
- 18:04look, I will let you know when I'm empty, OK?
- 18:08I I don't need you know, when you see my bottle out there or
- 18:12you see, you know, some you can't see in them, them brown
- 18:14beer bottles and stuff you can't see in them.
- 18:17But but when I'm out where you see my my cup or my glass or my
- 18:20bottle out there, then I'm then I'm ready for refill.
- 18:24Don't try to risk me drinking. You keep asking your refill and
- 18:31then and then now, then everything.
- 18:33I don't like these these servers and asking you how your food is.
- 18:37You might just get your food. You might just get your food.
- 18:41Now I know these servers or even the bartender supposed to ask
- 18:44you how how is your food, which is nice, but right away, right
- 18:50away you want to have some food. You didn't get a chance to eat
- 18:54nothing. Maybe a French fry.
- 18:55How's your food? Well, I don't know yet.
- 18:57I don't eat it yet. And that, that gets me too.
- 19:03Well, here's one here. This is probably one of the big
- 19:05ones here is being on their cell phones all the time.
- 19:09Little bitch, You're, you're at work.
- 19:11You're not, you're not in your, your, your living room or, or
- 19:14chilling with your friends. OK, you're working.
- 19:18Get off your cell phone, man. And and then what they're doing
- 19:22is sit there on their freaking cell phone and then things don't
- 19:24get done, like filling your glass up or, or whatever else
- 19:29things are supposed to be doing. You don't get done.
- 19:33I can't stand it. You're off your phone, you ain't
- 19:35home. You're right, you're working.
- 19:37I know, I know. See, I'm sure being a bartender
- 19:40is hard because you're constantly talking to people.
- 19:42You know what I mean? You're constantly talking to
- 19:44people and you, you try to get yourself in trouble sometimes
- 19:47because you know you, well, at least around here, you got to
- 19:49watch me talk to people. You got to watch who you talk
- 19:52to, because next thing you know, that person you talk to is
- 19:55trying to start trouble with people.
- 19:56All he said, they said that, that No, no, I ain't digging
- 19:59that. But get off your freaking phone,
- 20:02man, and do and do something. Yeah.
- 20:09So the only thing is when people leave the bar.
- 20:12This, this, this happened the other day.
- 20:14When people leave the bar and you're not busy, clean up their
- 20:19area. Take their small picture.
- 20:22We've been drinking a lot of more pictures right here.
- 20:24Take the small picture of the glass, their napkins, whatever
- 20:26have you, and clean your area up.
- 20:29I want to sit there for an hour. Why?
- 20:31It makes looks jokey, makes people not want to sit around
- 20:33there. Can't stand that.
- 20:35A lot of these girls don't don't even care, man.
- 20:39I mean, I don't. And that's probably their sort
- 20:42of demeanor at all. That's probably their demeanor.
- 20:46How they are, I don't know when I go out, you know I mean I go
- 20:51out sometimes I mean I'm I'm lonely like to like to talk to a
- 20:56person behind the bar or someone like that and I don't need to be
- 21:00treated like I'm like I'm nobody like I'm not wanted.
- 21:04Trucker mouth gets satellite see they don't like trucker mouth.
- 21:06They grow light 'cause he stroker mouth I guess Yeah man.
- 21:13So people leave, clean up your area and you know, makes the
- 21:19place appealing, look good, make it look clean.
- 21:22That trash lay the hell around there he is, you know, grow it
- 21:28off. Wow, powered off by himself.
- 21:38But that's one big Bluetooth speaker, I think cranks.
- 21:46You know, the other thing is, you know, you're giving certain
- 21:48people more privileges. You know, you might know these
- 21:50people, they might be related to them.
- 21:52They don't get away with anything when anyone else would
- 21:54be barred. You don't do your job.
- 22:01Let them people get walk all over people.
- 22:04And then, you know, you see these bartenders, the only time
- 22:06some of these people show up is when they're working.
- 22:10Well, you obviously, you know that they're giving them, you
- 22:12know, hook them up for free drinks because the only time
- 22:14when people come here is when they're working.
- 22:17Yeah. So I don't know, man.
- 22:20I just, I just got disrespected in in some kind of way.
- 22:23And I figured I'd road rage on it, not the road rage on
- 22:25anything. So everything is, is getting in
- 22:31people's business, trying to start trouble.
- 22:33You might be sitting around the bar.
- 22:35OK, you're sitting around the bar or the club or something,
- 22:38and you're just joking about the regulars.
- 22:39All the regulars bust on each other, they joke about each
- 22:43other. This is that no one's saying
- 22:44nothing. Same thing they do to you,
- 22:47you're doing to them and they do to you.
- 22:49So, you know, once you around people all the time, like at
- 22:52that at a club, you know what, you know what they're doing, you
- 22:56know what's up? And we got a comment could have
- 23:00any trouble good and alone. We are OK.
- 23:02It's all good. And you know, don't, don't try
- 23:07to start trouble people, man. No one, no one's like that.
- 23:09No one's trying to start trouble.
- 23:12Everybody, everybody, everything you're saying about them,
- 23:14they're saying about you and no one cares.
- 23:18So get out of people's business and everything is you know,
- 23:21they're, they're, they're telling people like telling
- 23:24girls, oh, you don't want to do nothing with him and blah, blah,
- 23:28blah. He's no, he's no good.
- 23:29And this and AL's there's no bad mouth, but truck her mouth.
- 23:35Truck them out good. Truck them out's a good patron.
- 23:37I have money like, well, that tip, if I have it, you know, a
- 23:41lot of times maybe just be a dollar or so or two.
- 23:45Other times I might give you $6 if I have money.
- 23:47I don't always have money. I don't talk about don't have a
- 23:49lot of money. So I mean, you know, just just
- 23:53have respect for people, eat bartenders and, and, and these
- 23:57people in the hospitality business and, and, and do your
- 23:59job and everybody get along good.
- 24:04Everybody have a good time. Don't always work like that,
- 24:10though. Don't always work like that.
- 24:14Oh, yeah. So what's some things that you
- 24:16people don't like about your bartenders now?
- 24:18Come on. I should.
- 24:19I should have comments. I should be getting blown up
- 24:21right here because everybody has a bartender.
- 24:23They can't stand nothing. Yeah, that's nice to go out and
- 24:34see people, especially if they have an outdoor area somewhere,
- 24:39something. I love that.
- 24:39I love that man, really do just do you know what I mean?
- 24:48Do your job, respect people, get off your phones because you're
- 24:53at work. And a lot of bartenders, they
- 24:55don't make a lot of money. A lot of places they might make
- 24:58$8 an hour, but they get the tips.
- 25:00I mean, you know, they say you make $20 a day, say work five
- 25:05days, it's $100 on top of your cash, on top of your paychecks.
- 25:08That's not bad if you have it that good, which it don't take
- 25:13but 5-6 people to end up with $20 tip.
- 25:18I couldn't do it. I couldn't be a bartender.
- 25:22There's just, there's just too many, too many.
- 25:24And you got so many different personalities.
- 25:28Also, you got to be you got to be kind of like a good looking
- 25:30person in my opinion. So I trucker mouth is a little
- 25:36rough around the edges. He wouldn't do good as a
- 25:38bartender and I don't like people.
- 25:42The people don't like trucker mouth.
- 25:47Yeah, you got to be a certain kind of person.
- 25:48And you know, these long term bartenders, you can tell because
- 25:51they're real reserved, OK, They'll lay back.
- 25:54They won't talk to every Tom, Dick and Harry that comes in
- 25:59there. They're they're they're pretty
- 26:00reserved because they they know over the years that you know,
- 26:04when they're talking to people, they don't want their business
- 26:06out there either. So yeah, I'm sure it's not a be
- 26:14a good part time job or something full time.
- 26:18Man. I got one guy worked at the club
- 26:21where he worked like 3 different bars.
- 26:22No, I see annoying people putting up with people like
- 26:27trucker mount. Oh man, go away.
- 26:31Well, trucker mountain. He ain't.
- 26:34He's pretty respectful nowadays, though.
- 26:36He I don't get out Hardy. I don't I don't get in fights or
- 26:42any more, nothing like that. But it just would take a long
- 26:48person to be a, be a, a bartender at A, at a place that
- 26:52it's, it's kind of busy or something like that.
- 26:58It'd be tough. I know a lot of people do it and
- 27:04I know a lot of people who do it who are very respectful.
- 27:07Everybody likes them. Everybody goes to see, everybody
- 27:09goes to see that, you know, this girl, Oh, who's working?
- 27:11What you do is we, we, us drinker.
- 27:13Well, us patrons now we ask, but who's working?
- 27:16Because if certain persons working, we won't go there.
- 27:18And then when out there, a nice person's working, then we go
- 27:21there and we, everybody hooks them up.
- 27:22They get hooked up. So it would behoove, it would
- 27:25behoove a bartender to be nice. And there isn't there is there
- 27:30is definitely times when you got to be like that.
- 27:35You'll be in charge like that. You have to if you know, you
- 27:39can't let people walk all over here as a as a bartender, but
- 27:43you know, you don't have to just go out of your way and be, you
- 27:45know, rude and mean to people, man.
- 27:46And like I said, I had an incident the other day and
- 27:49that's why I truck her mouse doing a segment on that.
- 27:58Nice day now was raining earlier up here.
- 28:04Yeah, boy. So yeah.
- 28:09So that's why I did the segment there.
- 28:10I got I got disrespected in the place and talking about didn't
- 28:15like it. So that about ends at about.
- 28:24Oh, OK, we got a comment about ends my show here.
- 28:27Hello, Troker mouth. Who's the Florida Troker mouth?
- 28:31OK, do you want? I don't know.
- 28:38All right, so we're going to I'm going to get out of here and to
- 28:47show I don't have much more to talk about.
- 28:48I Rd. raged about. I Rd. raged about the bartender.
- 28:54So blue tears mounted. OK, thank you for coming along
- 29:03on the road. I'm straight.
