- 0:04[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to Three Yards Perkati, a podcast covering the Miami Dolphins and the NFL.
- 0:11[SPEAKER_01]: Now, here's your host, Chris, Alf, and Simon.
- 0:17[SPEAKER_00]: And we're on.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_00]: This is Three Yards Perkari.
- 0:19[SPEAKER_00]: It's been a while, but we have, we haven't back.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_00]: Simon, welcome back.
- 0:25[SPEAKER_00]: It's been a while.
- 0:25[SPEAKER_00]: We haven't spoken in a very long time.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_00]: You've been on holiday.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_00]: You've been trying to win a flag football championship.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if people know how that went, but maybe you want to fill in our listeners with that.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we've got no talent in the semi-finals and trickle over time, which is upsetting.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_02]: But it is what it is.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, planning is already starting
- 0:51[SPEAKER_02]: We had a little sort of end of season, not even end of season, because it was only on Saturday that the tournament happened, but we, uh, the teams just went out for a few drinks last night, just to kind of tell all stories and put it to bed.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_02]: But we won the pub quiz and the pub that we're in, and then we won the pub music bingo as well.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_02]: So we did win the pub there.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_02]: It was good, but yeah, to lose like that was pretty, it was pretty tough, but you know, it was a great game, best game I've played in, best game I've watched, Jeffy or play bullying me, we play bullying then, they made one more play than us, so, yeah, there you go.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_00]: Are you afraid that Mark Bernowski might take your job next to me?
- 1:30[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_02]: I'm pretty comfortable and comfortable in my library.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_02]: I'm a good call of that.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_02]: I'm pretty good where I am, so I think I can beat you now.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_02]: Marker and ask is like, I can't ever meet in public, if you ever read my Twitter feed or got for pity, here's about the things that we've said about him on our discord, but it's a shame actually because like the team ready were hot and they really liked him coming into the drop process and through the drop process and you know I know that they were you know weighing out with them to use a pick on him and they ultimately didn't but they managed to get hold of him as a as a UDFA but I just think you know he clearly had just maxed out
- 2:12[SPEAKER_02]: You know what his skill set wise, which is a bit of a shame because they did like him, but you know, and I'm sure I was well discussed the court about position beyond the league is an issue Yes, that's that's really been highlighted in this training camp So, but yeah, he's not the guy on to the next Yeah, the thing about Mark and Alskis like you you've seen the the meme of the dog sitting Drinking coffee and everything's on fire around him.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah
- 2:38[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's how Mark andowski played football in this camp, like everything bad kept happening to the offense when he was in there and it was it was like nothing was shocking, but it was it got it got old after a while pick six bad decision bad pass and I've said this before like
- 3:00[SPEAKER_00]: It's not about, you know, we need a guide to go to and one when Malik Willis, if Malik Willis misses three games.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, Malik Willis misses any game.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_00]: You're probably losing and losing badly.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_00]: And your season is probably over.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_00]: He's out any extended period of time.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_00]: And that's going forward.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_00]: This season next season, maybe even the one after that.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_00]: But it's about practicing.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_00]: And if your quarterbacks can't execute,
- 3:24[SPEAKER_00]: You're not going to get the looks that you want for your defense to be able to practice.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_00]: So I guess we'll start there.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_00]: What do you make of what has gone on with Quinn viewers this camp?
- 3:36[SPEAKER_00]: I spoke to somebody that gave me a theory in all we can have our theories.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_00]: Mike McDaniel leaves.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_00]: Gone is.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_00]: a lot of concepts that he used in in Texas under Sharkesian.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_00]: And now he's like re adjusting and he just can't do it.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_00]: Like this is probably not to skin for him.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_00]: What's that?
- 3:59[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, it's a skin that's built for a big on mobile callback who can make plays with his legs and none of that is cream yours.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_02]: I do think, though, that there are concepts that are not those sorts of things, you know, this is Bobby Sloak.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_02]: We're talking about, we're not talking about, you know, Art Briles or, you know, we're not talking about one of those kind of funky college references from the United States, the team catcher got back, you know, this is, um, this is an NFL fan of hand-tree offense that he should be comfortable enough in and he has been, you know,
- 4:30[SPEAKER_02]: abject is probably too strong word but not much better than abject and I think if if there was a even a feasible third string quarterback then I think when you as his job would be under pressure and and if there was a second string quarterback that comes on the market and I could frame Carl Krebs for example wrote a piece of Anthony Richardson that he's fallen to the third string at Indianapolis now I'm not saying that Richardson is you know some great
- 4:58[SPEAKER_02]: style of play, does suit more to a milliquilist style of play, this skill sets, those sorts of things, much more than a queen of yours, and you would have to ask the question whether or not the dolphins would move on from you, as I think it kind of makes a mock career all the people in the off-season that said, I'll give him the job, he should start, he's this, he's that, and you know, I don't think there was ever
- 5:19[SPEAKER_02]: serious conversation unless the theme of, you know, I mean, it seemed to be bad enough to struggle to win, you know, very many games anyway, but you know, you could be looking at Owen 17 if you would start when you was, I think that's the situation and yeah, it's just not been very good and like you say, you've been there and you've seen it and
- 5:39[SPEAKER_02]: day after day that there's been struggles and it's just unfortunate that nobody else has been able to kind of come up on the rails and pressure whether that was gone kanski or gone out ski whether that was Cam Miller, neither those who guys were able to separate or have been able to separate and we're this is where we are.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, a camera had that good practice in the stadium practice and that day was better than any day that when you were just had all all came.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, it's not about like winning games because this team is not going to win many games, but it's about wasting people's time, you know, and that's why Malik Willis is here.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_00]: Like you don't want, you know, you don't want guys to just go out there and just
- 6:19[SPEAKER_00]: be, you know, engage in a completely futile effort, right?
- 6:24[SPEAKER_00]: Like, you can't give Devon HN 25 touches and then tell them, oh, you know, you got paid, so you're just going to get your brains beat in.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_00]: So that's why you invest a little bit on the offensive line.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_00]: You invest that quarterback, like, you know,
- 6:36[SPEAKER_00]: That's what Quinn Ewers, as a starter, was the most insane thing I heard all off season.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_00]: And God forbid, Mike McDaniel, we're still here.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_00]: That's what we would have gotten, by the way, because that's what he wanted to do.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_00]: Move it on.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_00]: What is, I saw you wrote a piece on Dolphin to talk.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_00]: I read it.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_00]: I completely agree with everything, single thing on it.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_00]: I was expecting maybe we wouldn't see eye to eye on a couple of things, but no, yeah, pretty accurate all the way across.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_00]: Well, what have been your takeaway so far, and of yesterday's training camp, joy practice, whatever you've seen, what are you, what is your thinking?
- 7:18[SPEAKER_00]: What are you feeling with this team right now?
- 7:20[SPEAKER_02]: Take away is overall that I think, you know, I think it's to be applauded, actually, I really like what Haffley is doing, I like what he stands for, like Harry Handles himself when he's marked up.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_02]: Now, you know, he is forever coaching the players.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_02]: I like the fact that the team seems tougher and stronger.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_02]: And there's a resiliency albeit in training camp.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_02]: Look, let's not be around the bush, this is not a good team.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_02]: This is a team that I mean, I've been saying all of season that I don't know when three games.
- 7:55[SPEAKER_02]: They might have win two games, and that's not really a knock on some of the players that they've got, so I do think they've got some good pieces, and some of the rookies that, you know, I think the draft class through camp, the guys that they're playing, they're competing, you know, Chris Johnson was held out yesterday, but Johnson's been doing well, you know, Michael Taff made to be played at the end of practice yesterday, but has been doing well,
- 8:18[SPEAKER_02]: You know, Jacob Rodriguez looks like a star in the making.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_02]: Traymore is going to be a star.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_02]: I have to give Kudos to Caleb Douglas, you know, the globs are still there, but he's living like a player.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_02]: Casemaric, you know, he...
- 8:31[SPEAKER_02]: He was only really going to start to shine when the pads came on and that's what you start to do, say, do try or raise, but it has been good, he might make that, he should make the roster, you know, Coleman's in the mix, you know, so these guys, they drafted the, you know, they're showing out and, you know, and that's, that's to be encouraged, but look at some bad team, it's a really bad team and, you know, I think the takeaway from the Washington side yesterday was that this is not a squad that's going to win all
- 9:01[SPEAKER_02]: That's the situation.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_02]: I'm looking for growth.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_02]: I'm looking for development of the young players I'm looking for schematics.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_02]: I'm looking for Malik to grow.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_02]: I'm looking to see who's going to separate themselves from the pack of the skill position and the skill position is really bad Let's let's not be You know, let's not be shy and out of that the skill position players are really bad
- 9:21[SPEAKER_02]: especially at receiver, you know, and the hope is that you can get a crisp bell and a Caleb Douglas, and maybe a Malique Willis in the mix, and then next year, you know, when you've got a bit more free agent cash, you can maybe out of free agent or two, and then you can go to the draft, which looks like a good draft with all your players.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_02]: and if Malik plays well, you know, which we hope he does, then you're going to find yourself and let's, you know, Dylan's sure or Colin Smith just look at Colin's, Colin Simmons or Dylan's sure just look, you know, unpassable, then you know, you're going to sit in there and with the ability to take Jeremiah Smith and or Cam, Cam, Coleman or Amarion Miller or
- 10:03[SPEAKER_02]: you know, Ryan Wingo or Nick Marsh or Maccurian or the Becker Kid in the Anna or, you know, Brian Westco, the two kids at Clemson Westco and more at Ryan Williams, and he's going to add some pieces to the pie, you know, and give me some more, some more weapons.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_02]: And it's a process out, you know, it's not that it's a cliche because it's true.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_02]: Rome wasn't built in 10,000 years, and, you know, this is not going to take that long, but it's going to take a couple of years,
- 10:33[SPEAKER_02]: The biggest question for me is what happens to this young team when they're 1 and 10, do you know what I mean and when they're getting beat and if Melique gets her, you know, goes for beat, but you know, what are they like when when Queen Ewers has to start and they're getting beat in my 34 points or whatever, what's going to be there?
- 10:52[SPEAKER_02]: all the things that half has tried to put across now, how is that going to stand when they're getting pounded?
- 10:58[SPEAKER_02]: That's the interesting thing to say.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_02]: They continue to stay together, how will the leaders, the Patrick Pauls and the Jordan Brooks' of this team, how will they stand up and be counted?
- 11:10[SPEAKER_02]: The A-Rom Brewers, what will the best ginger be there?
- 11:14[SPEAKER_02]: That to me is the most important thing for Larry Dawkins in 2026.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_02]: So,
- 11:18[SPEAKER_02]: You know, the spinners are encouraging sides, the young players, especially the rookies encouraging stuff.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_02]: You know, some of the unsung heroes, the train malls, as we touched about the Zayn Anderson, to the Packers, really like coming over from Green Bay.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_02]: It's the growth you're looking for, I think, and that's the key thing.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like the best the best way to describe it is that, you know, they're building a house, the foundation is there and there have walls, but there are no windows, and there is no roof.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, okay, okay, so if it rains, if it rains, meaning, who knows, maybe week three against Kansas City, if it rains, how will you handle it?
- 11:54[SPEAKER_00]: And that's what I've been asked this before, like, you know,
- 11:59[SPEAKER_00]: I hate to keep saying and using a 76er's cliche of trust a process because they said that for a thousand years until they just bought a team.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_00]: This past office season, right?
- 12:12[SPEAKER_00]: But yes, it's about the process.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_00]: You want to scare some teams?
- 12:15[SPEAKER_00]: You want to compete?
- 12:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you want
- 12:17[SPEAKER_02]: You don't want to get out there and just get your teeth kicked and we know you want to compete even if you lose You want to compete.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_02]: You want to play to the whistle on every down.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_02]: You want to play in the fourth quarter You want to be tough.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_02]: You want to re-resilient.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_02]: You want teams to go back and go.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_02]: I tell you what that was a tough game They were expecting you know this team might be one and eight is team like we want them for this team up.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_02]: We won in 30
- 12:36[SPEAKER_02]: they're way tougher than, that's the key, that's what you want to hear, that's what you know, halfway we'll be asking the opposition coaches and players when he's walking off of you know, what was that like, well those guys, they were still hitting in the fourth quarter.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_02]: Now that's a tough out, that's what you, you know, wins and losses almost in a way in material in 2026 is about growth and it's about knowing that your guys are going to play hard for you for 60 minutes.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we talked about a couple of the young guys killed Douglas mostly, but uh, genre solving keeps doing gugly eyes to Chris Bell and he keeps doing work on the side like the uh, he's either training for the Olympics or he's gonna play football soon.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_00]: Do you expect them?
- 13:18[SPEAKER_00]: Because I kind of do.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_00]: I kind of expect them for Falcons.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_00]: We do expect them to contribute in the preseason, meaning he'll play in the regular season.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's unlikely.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_02]: I think we're being realistic.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_02]: He tore his ACL in November.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that we look at eight to nine months just to get back to being a hundred percent.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_02]: And then realistically, that first year is almost exclusively a Mulligan.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_02]: It's not they don't play.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_02]: It's just that they don't play to the level that they've played that before.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_02]: And you're asking Chris Bell to go from Louisville into the NFL, having not played for a year, having not, you know, he's not run routes against other players for a year, all those things.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_02]: I think,
- 14:01[SPEAKER_02]: They're also going to be really careful with him.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_02]: He's a big physical human being.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_02]: That's a lot of weight to put on that knee straight away.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_02]: He's not, you know, five, nine, 163 pounds.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_02]: He's a big, big human being.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_02]: So I just think they're going to really be careful with him.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_02]: There's no point in blowing him up, blowing him out now in
- 14:19[SPEAKER_02]: in a season where they're gonna get.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_02]: If you can get three, four, five games at the back end of a season under his belt and then we really have a strong enough season and then hit the ground running in 2020, seven, when maybe they're, you know, there's shock of few people and they go seven and nine or they go late and eight or whatever, they've changed the eight and nine or whatever, stupidity is now there's not number.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_02]: That's what you're looking to see up at.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I personally think that's what they're looking to see.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_02]: I just don't think there's any reason to push a guy out into this team.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_02]: When they know they're probably going to get smoked for most of the year, and he could get injured and he's not 100% comfy in all those things.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_02]: Chris Bell playing six games at the back end of the season where he has a few catches to get hit, he gets hit on the knee, all of those sorts of things.
- 15:04[SPEAKER_02]: And he can be like, okay, I've drawn PCL and MCL and my knee.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_02]: And you know, when you go back and, you know, I was playing a record full of ice playing soccer and you go back and high level and it's like, you run out of there can be still memorable as like to run out on the pitch and be like, okay, like this is weird, like,
- 15:21[SPEAKER_02]: Hmm, and I can still remember what it was like about seven or eight minutes into the game where I went in for a 50 50 tack on a block tackle on my bad knee and I almost, I can remember closing my eyes and just thinking as I went in for it, and then the impact happened, it was all fine, the ball went out and I was like, oh, that was sweet like that felt good, but you're still a bit tentative, you know, you still a bit like, oh, okay, you know, you bend it a corners and where you wait for the ball to come in and I'm going to do it, I'm going to do it, I'm going to do it, I'm going to do it, I'm going to do it, I'm going to do it, I'm going to do it, I'm going to do it, I'm going to do it, I'm going to do it, I'm going to do it, I'm going to do it, I'm going to do it, I'm going to do
- 15:45[SPEAKER_02]: you're just like manipulating it a bit and this is like, if it's okay, it's okay, right?
- 15:50[SPEAKER_02]: I can, this is supposed to be, you know, you're touching it, you're playing with it a bit, I think that's going the same for you, I think it's the same for most guys when they come back off and enjoy that, it's a big old blow and
- 16:00[SPEAKER_02]: We don't need him out there, trying to evolve games, getting hurt, being tentative, we just need him to play when the dolphins think he's ready, when he thinks he's ready, and when it's beneficial for his body, knowing that he's 21, 22 years old, and we're gonna need him in three, four years time, not in three, four games times.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_00]: Alright, we're gonna go to break and when we come back, we will look forward to actual football.
- 16:21[SPEAKER_00]: By the way, tonight, there's like five football games tonight, all an iPhone network.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_00]: So if you get the app and there's a little tip, if you get the app, you can play two at a time.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_00]: So you can put one on one TV, one on the other TV.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_00]: So that's a little tip for me.
- 16:37[SPEAKER_00]: I think you do have to play for pay for NFL plus, but if you're a big football fan, big NFL fan, why wouldn't you pay for NFL plus?
- 16:45[SPEAKER_00]: Since it gives you red zone, it gives you NFL network.
- 16:49[SPEAKER_00]: So you get all the, you know, all the programming that they have on there.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_00]: So I would check it out tonight.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of football.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_00]: But Friday, dolphins play.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_00]: But first let me tell you about factor.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes you don't have the time, you just don't want to cook.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_00]: So it wouldn't be a great thing to have fully prepared meals designed by dietitians and crafted by chefs to live a right to your door.
- 17:12[SPEAKER_00]: In fact, I'm going to make Chefcrafted dietitian design ready to eat meals, so you don't have to choose between real food and convenience.
- 17:19[SPEAKER_00]: Factor meals are ready in two minutes and require no prep and no cleanups.
- 17:22[SPEAKER_00]: So even on the days, your schedule is completely out of control.
- 17:25[SPEAKER_00]: Eating well is still achievable.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_00]: Every week, you'll find over 100 nutrient vents, many items to choose from with new options like salmon burgers, shredded pork, color greens, and more.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_00]: Plus add-ons, you'll crave pumpkin flavored cheesecakes and protein shakes.
- 17:39[SPEAKER_00]: By the way, I love their taco balls.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_00]: I keep saying that every time I read this ad.
- 17:44[SPEAKER_00]: In fact, I have one in the fridge and I might have that for lunch.
- 17:48[SPEAKER_00]: today.
- 17:48[SPEAKER_00]: So let's eat real head over to factor meals.com slash three yards five zero off and use the code is the number three yards five zero off to get 50% off and one free breakfast item for per box for one year.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_00]: While supplies last until October 31st of 2026 that's code three yard five zero off.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_00]: Effector meals.com three yards five zero off at factor meals.com.
- 18:11[SPEAKER_00]: See website for more
- 18:17[SPEAKER_00]: Well, Jeff Haffley, one thing we could say about this regime, well, we could say two things about this regime that we actually know for sure right now, Simon.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_00]: A, they do not reveal anything about injuries whatsoever.
- 18:33[SPEAKER_00]: Like you had to actually ask about a player and a player could be there today and he could not be there tomorrow.
- 18:41[SPEAKER_00]: And then you just got to wait to ask Haffley and Haffley will tell you week to week day to day or you'll be out there today.
- 18:49[SPEAKER_00]: So they do not reveal any injury information.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_00]: However, they're playing a game tomorrow.
- 18:56[SPEAKER_00]: So an hour before the game tomorrow, they do have to reveal their injury report.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_00]: So we will learn more about players like Chris Johnson, Zaxealer, Juju Brints, etc.
- 19:06[SPEAKER_00]: Although we were told that Juju Brints will be back next week.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_00]: same thing for Kevin Coleman.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_00]: But he did reveal these guys are playing.
- 19:16[SPEAKER_00]: Once are playing on Friday.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_00]: You agree with this?
- 19:19[SPEAKER_00]: Because I do.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_00]: I will play these guys plenty.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_00]: I would have Maliglose out there in an entire quarter on Friday.
- 19:26[SPEAKER_00]: And I might have in play three quarters in game two.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_00]: You want to sit for game three?
- 19:29[SPEAKER_00]: Go ahead.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_00]: But these guys got a play and play plenty.
- 19:32[SPEAKER_00]: You agree with halfway's decision?
- 19:34[SPEAKER_02]: 100 million per cent.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_02]: 100 million per cent.
- 19:37[SPEAKER_02]: They
- 19:40[SPEAKER_00]: And as far as defensively, it looks like, well, we don't know about Chris Johnson, but they're digging deeper into the depth or lack thereof.
- 19:53[SPEAKER_00]: Would you use this game to start maybe even moving guys out and mining other other practice quads and I mean other rosters for players possibly even in trade like they did reggating Wallace try to bolster try to bolster what they have in the second there
- 20:13[SPEAKER_02]: I think trade is an interesting one because I just don't think they want to give picks away and I certainly don't want to give picks away for 2020-27.
- 20:18[SPEAKER_02]: So it would have to be an unbelievable deal, I think, but they're certainly going to be turning.
- 20:25[SPEAKER_02]: They're certainly going to be turning the bottom of the roster and you saw it on the day when they...
- 20:29[SPEAKER_02]: You know the guys they got rid of and the guys they brought in and you know I think the trade for Wallace was safe enough you get a 7th round pick back for that for the six so it's not the the worst thing in the world, but yeah I am I don't think they'll be looking to trade picks for guys I just can't see that happening.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, any interest, and I know it's weird to say this, but everybody's kicking the tires on Terry and Arnold.
- 20:55[SPEAKER_00]: What do you think of him as far as the player?
- 20:58[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I really liked him coming out of Alabama, but I think he really struggled.
- 21:02[SPEAKER_02]: You know, that in Detroit City wasn't the guy that we thought he was going to be.
- 21:08[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, I think he's a bit he developed into that sort of
- 21:16[SPEAKER_02]: second half of the career to regal him in terms of penalties and being grabby and those things I just don't think he was great with the with the lines I think he could yeah he absolutely would have a chance there's a as a potential start with the Dolphins but I I just think look I mean you know he's got eight pending felony charges from a legend or bring kidnapping I mean that doesn't strike me as a Jeff Haffley kind of guy you know I just
- 21:45[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and I just don't think it's worth it, frankly.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_02]: And there were crappy moments, crappy games at Alabama, and some of the big games I thought he really struggled in, and I didn't think he was going to be the player that you deliver looks into, which wasn't a particularly good one.
- 22:07[SPEAKER_02]: And I just think that they're probably just going to want to go with the guys,
- 22:12[SPEAKER_02]: On there, on their roster, you know, you want to give Chris Johnson charge, you want to see what Jason Marshall's got, you know, can Julie and Brent stay healthy, you know, it is the biggest question.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_02]: If he can, then, you know, they've got a chance, but, you know, I think, you know, given everything is happening off the field as well, the fact that he's getting try out his.
- 22:36[SPEAKER_02]: kind of undermines what's wrong about the culture with what these days, you know.
- 22:40[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I was literally watching the athletes this morning.
- 22:43[SPEAKER_02]: There's a European athletes going on in there.
- 22:45[SPEAKER_02]: The favorite for the 800 meters literally trips over our own leg coming off the final bend and finishes last because she falls over and I just read that she's just been reinstated to the final.
- 22:56[SPEAKER_02]: It's like what are we doing?
- 22:57[SPEAKER_02]: What are going in what are you doing?
- 22:59[SPEAKER_02]: What's happening?
- 23:01[SPEAKER_02]: What's happening?
- 23:03[SPEAKER_02]: I just feel like I'm comfortable and I just don't start me as a Sullivan and half the move.
- 23:08[SPEAKER_02]: It just doesn't.
- 23:08[SPEAKER_00]: That's just not that kind of am I. Yeah, but wait, just to to divert a little bit.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_00]: I know if you were watching this this morning, the news of this morning, Jayden Daniels is so.
- 23:22[SPEAKER_00]: LSU and I thought this is the most ridiculous thing I ever heard until.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_00]: I read that Billy Cannon and Joe Burrow, Joe Burrow's number is not retired, but it is respected nobody's worn it since he left.
- 23:34[SPEAKER_00]: LSU, Billy Cannon's number was retired in 1960, a year after he won the Heisman.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_00]: So, Jayden Thanos is the only one that doesn't have his number retired, and therefore he's not getting that, and I owe money from his jersey.
- 23:46[SPEAKER_02]: It's just terrible, it's just terrible advance.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know, sir.
- 23:50[SPEAKER_02]: Joe Barron, Jane Daniels, I'm not the same player, like they're just normal.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_00]: What has been the same?
- 23:55[SPEAKER_02]: They did, but Joe won a national championship, but arguably the greatest, the greatest team of all.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_02]: I just think it's bad, it's just bad advice.
- 24:06[SPEAKER_02]: He just looks egotistical, like a brat with the move, I just, you know.
- 24:13[SPEAKER_00]: You like him to come back to the season?
- 24:14[SPEAKER_00]: Since we're playing again.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think he'll be healthy.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_02]: I think he'll be healthy or come back.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_02]: And you know, he's done a decent job of, you know, Joe Brown and the National Championship.
- 24:23[SPEAKER_02]: Joe Brown had none of the feed in season at LSU.
- 24:25[SPEAKER_02]: Jane Dunn is to even make the play off ones.
- 24:28[SPEAKER_02]: You know, the legacy is utterly incomparable and should not be treated the same and that's it.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_02]: Sorry.
- 24:36[SPEAKER_00]: Especially when we're talking about and I looked at a, you're talking about hundreds of thousands of dollars.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_00]: It's not like there's 20, 30, 40, 50 million dollars on the line here.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_00]: We're talking about a few hundred thousand dollars and you're going to sue LSU over that.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_00]: That makes no sense to me.
- 24:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, good luck, right, because unless you can't control their uniform numbers, that's something that they can do.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_00]: So what do you want to see from the first team offense?
- 25:06[SPEAKER_00]: I said I wanted to see a script.
- 25:08[SPEAKER_00]: I wanted to see Malik Willis execute a script.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_00]: What are you going to be watching when that first team unit gets out there?
- 25:18[SPEAKER_02]: I want to see the move the ball.
- 25:20[SPEAKER_02]: I just don't want to see them go three and out and pump three times.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_02]: I want to see the move the ball getting to get into a plus territory.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_02]: You know, work some red zone off in a little bit.
- 25:30[SPEAKER_02]: And also move the ball in multiple ways.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_02]: I want to see them throwing the ball.
- 25:35[SPEAKER_02]: I want to see how that rumblocking unit is shaped up, especially over the left-hand side, especially with the center, the left-guard and the left-pack off, and they move the ball against that that wasn't front, but just be consistent and clean, no penalties, no stupid mistakes.
- 25:52[SPEAKER_02]: And obviously who's going to emerge from the pack in the receiving group, who's going to make a play, beyond what looks like the rookie.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_02]: Douglas, who else is going to be headed by the perfect, because there's a load of vets there, whether that's too too outwell or all of these guys, and Jalen Tolber, and it just feels like nobody's quite stepping up to play a supporting role, and terrorist march has been a disappointment, and fear, we'll be playing in the CFL or wherever, and there's spring
- 26:22[SPEAKER_02]: very soon and guys are there and yeah it's um who's going to who's going to make a statement who's going to say you know what you can't overlook me I'm sorry that that's what I want to see you know just just put all the things that half he's been working on both physically but also mentally and slashed verbally you know all the the advice that he's been giving about how he wants a team to be
- 26:44[SPEAKER_02]: This is the first opportunity from the garage show it and score as a material.
- 26:48[SPEAKER_02]: I don't care about the score, but put some drives together, you know, let's see them play three-four drives, three-four drives together, put some points on the board, maybe a touchdown, and a field goal, you know, just don't come up empty handed in three-four drives and, and, and, and,
- 27:01[SPEAKER_02]: and just look for us in terms of protecting milk and just unable to get open as receivers and then have to rely on.
- 27:07[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I know he was joking the other day when he said about HIV and having 40 carries, but you know, you just don't want to see them just keep giving it to HIV and keep giving it to HIV.
- 27:14[SPEAKER_02]: Because he's going to end up getting injured anyway.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I spoke to the Calcrib yesterday and to conduct my camp importance.
- 27:23[SPEAKER_00]: He was available to see practice yesterday.
- 27:27[SPEAKER_00]: And he says he's convinced he says he's seen enough that Calb Douglas will lead the wide receivers and targets.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_00]: Now we know, Malik Washington is a professional receiver.
- 27:36[SPEAKER_00]: Like he belongs in the NFL.
- 27:38[SPEAKER_00]: We don't know about that the rest of the group.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_00]: Like,
- 27:42[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't think too wide receivers is enough to go through a season, or to pull out a roster.
- 27:46[SPEAKER_00]: Okay?
- 27:47[SPEAKER_00]: Who do you like to emerge from this group?
- 27:51[SPEAKER_00]: Because I think we might even have to go off the board.
- 27:54[SPEAKER_00]: What's wrong with AJ Henning?
- 27:55[SPEAKER_00]: He keeps making plays.
- 27:57[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe he's the guy that might show up and contribute to this year.
- 28:02[SPEAKER_02]: I think they're going to be looking hard for guys, you know, who's going to kind of have a great night great, for example,
- 28:11[SPEAKER_02]: It's really, they kind of like McCullee, but I was surprised to see him down at the very, very bottom of the depth chart.
- 28:19[SPEAKER_02]: You know, maybe he makes the practice squad, I think Taj Washington is in for a, you know, I think weaves Washington, Ray Gore, I think they're gonna struggle to make the team martial, I think he's gone.
- 28:32[SPEAKER_02]: I think they'd like Kevin Coleman to make the team and he probably will do because of the returnability.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_02]: You know, can at well stretch the tea, can he stretch down the field?
- 28:41[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he had a few moments with the Rams, but really just disappeared.
- 28:45[SPEAKER_02]: He's just physically just unable to do it because of how slight years.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_02]: So, I mean, I think you have to ask yourself, are there five receivers on this team that are good enough to be five receivers in the NFL?
- 28:57[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm not sure there are, and that's an issue, I think, that's obviously why they were one of the teams that was in for, for Stefan Diggs, you know, so what, you know, what cost a boom Milton, for example, a green bay, you know, a guy like that, who couldn't, you know, maybe he misses out in the kind of the Matthew Golden, Skymore, Jane Reid, stirred up on his played well, save you on Williams, Christian Watson, kind of,
- 29:24[SPEAKER_02]: Deal.
- 29:25[SPEAKER_02]: You know, maybe it's time for Bo Mill and to be on and does he come over to the to the Dolphins as a free agent.
- 29:32[SPEAKER_02]: I think the receiver, the receivers that we have now, the receiver room that we have now will not be the same receiver room when it comes to the sight of the season.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_02]: I think it'll be at least one and maybe even two new additions.
- 29:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I would expect somebody to emerge, maybe even Taj Washington, somebody because... What is there in that?
- 29:52[SPEAKER_02]: You look at Washington and he's third.
- 29:55[SPEAKER_02]: on the depth chart, just in his thing, in his bracket.
- 29:59[SPEAKER_02]: And that is for a guy that's been on the team and been a professional for two years.
- 30:04[SPEAKER_02]: That is not good at all.
- 30:06[SPEAKER_02]: But I think he's going to struggle.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_02]: And also look, we are 24, 48 hours away from the first preseason game.
- 30:14[SPEAKER_02]: And we're talking about somebody is going to emerge.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_02]: Like, we've had like three weeks training him.
- 30:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we don't like any of them.
- 30:21[SPEAKER_00]: We don't like any of them.
- 30:23[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Doug, this is the only one that's averaged.
- 30:26[SPEAKER_02]: It's like the time difference.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_00]: You could trust my league, my league belongs in the NFL.
- 30:31[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but like what is he?
- 30:33[SPEAKER_02]: Like he's on the slump.
- 30:34[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he's on the slump only a slump receiver.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_02]: Um, you know, so yeah, I mean, it looks fine.
- 30:41[SPEAKER_02]: I think you've probably got two guys there and Bell.
- 30:45[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe told, but I think there'll be another guy, you know, that they might carry six because of Coleman's ability to return punts We'll see, but it's a such a poor group, but then, you know, you look from this time next year And we could be sitting there going, well, you know this group is
- 31:04[SPEAKER_02]: Jeremiah Smith, Charlie Becker, Caleb Douglas, Chris Bell, and, you know, a vet, a vet free agent, who, you know, I don't even know who the threat to me with our next season, but I'm going to look now, whilst we, whilst we carry on talking about, you know, at that point, you're like, whoa, okay, now I'm going to leave you some serious.
- 31:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, do you know the way it's like so yeah, I think that help is coming but it may not come it may not come quickly enough for
- 31:37[SPEAKER_02]: say this either.
- 31:39[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, help us on the way.
- 31:40[SPEAKER_00]: It's just, it's on the way.
- 31:41[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just, if that on the way, this calendar year.
- 31:45[SPEAKER_02]: So George Peckin is the one to add as Chris Godwin, John Jennings, who they tried to sign.
- 31:50[SPEAKER_02]: My keys on your brown my coins.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, John Jennings is the is the most appealing name of the ones you write about there.
- 31:57[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah,
- 32:06[SPEAKER_00]: And, and Jer Jones is promising that they're going to keep him.
- 32:10[SPEAKER_00]: So we shall see.
- 32:11[SPEAKER_02]: I'd say Michael Wilson's a good player.
- 32:13[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 32:14[SPEAKER_02]: Pay for Michael Wilson.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_02]: If I were to say it was cheap enough, let him go.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he's a good player.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_02]: Beyond that.
- 32:21[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, to do what you talk about, to do what I've, I've walked past to do what well several times during training game.
- 32:27[SPEAKER_00]: You have to see him in person to appreciate how small he is.
- 32:33[SPEAKER_00]: You know, so you're talking about a miniscule catch radius.
- 32:36[SPEAKER_00]: He has to be wide open to throw on the ball.
- 32:39[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah You're willing to pay fifty million dollars to put on a go.
- 32:47[SPEAKER_02]: He's that good K-Shon booties a free agent next year.
- 32:51[SPEAKER_02]: So this is the same guy's needs Poor guy's there.
- 32:54[SPEAKER_02]: You'd be like, okay, I can't absolutely.
- 32:56[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, Andre Yoshimash is free agent.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_02]: I mean he's a good player You know, these are guys this
- 33:01[SPEAKER_02]: You know, stuck behind the begins in Jamal Chase.
- 33:07[SPEAKER_00]: I'm wondering if Butei, Butei is not for long this season.
- 33:11[SPEAKER_00]: And maybe if I am for for a draft pick at the deadline, if he's underutilized, all right, finish it up.
- 33:18[SPEAKER_00]: Let's move on to the defense.
- 33:21[SPEAKER_00]: What do you want to see from the defense?
- 33:22[SPEAKER_00]: I tell you one thing I do want to see.
- 33:24[SPEAKER_00]: And it's grand.
- 33:24[SPEAKER_00]: Start making plays because you are quickly
- 33:28[SPEAKER_00]: in danger being supplanted by forget Jordan Phillips.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_00]: I think that that horse left the barn.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_00]: You know, that's not my career.
- 33:35[SPEAKER_00]: But Zick figures is coming on for his job.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_00]: And Zick figures has that look.
- 33:42[SPEAKER_00]: First of all, you watch him and you look at him.
- 33:44[SPEAKER_00]: He's 6, 6, 320 pounds.
- 33:45[SPEAKER_00]: You can't teach 6, 6, 320 pounds.
- 33:47[SPEAKER_00]: And he moves like a cat.
- 33:52[SPEAKER_00]: He's agile, he's a threat to rush the pastor every time.
- 33:56[SPEAKER_00]: He has no bag, but you know, you don't need a bag when you're that big in that quick.
- 34:01[SPEAKER_00]: So he gets in on the quarterback.
- 34:03[SPEAKER_00]: The interesting thing as well for me to do is make some plays, right?
- 34:06[SPEAKER_00]: Start taking back what is yours.
- 34:08[SPEAKER_00]: Kenneth Grant.
- 34:10[SPEAKER_02]: Matthew Butler feels like he's made almost as many plays as Kenneth Grant sometimes.
- 34:14[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I've not been there.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, Butler's a decent camp, but yeah, I think you can make an argument
- 34:19[SPEAKER_02]: Grat might be the fourth string defensive tackle.
- 34:22[SPEAKER_02]: And for a guy that is, you know, won't even turn to me three to mid-season, but his size and his athletic ability and his capabilities, it's disappointing, it's really disappointing.
- 34:34[SPEAKER_02]: And my God, it's nice to see the Chop Robinson feels like he might have turned a bit of a corner.
- 34:40[SPEAKER_02]: He's had a very good camp.
- 34:42[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, that's got to translate and parlay into the game time, but because, yeah, I put the dolphins in a massive hole if they're back to back first round defensive picks in Robinson and Grant would just heading, you know, hurtling down the bust.
- 34:58[SPEAKER_02]: The bust, really, because, yeah, Grant is kind of struggled.
- 35:03[SPEAKER_02]: That's a big problem.
- 35:10[SPEAKER_00]: Like one looks like the alpha and the other guy looks like he's trying to hang on.
- 35:14[SPEAKER_00]: Like one guy looks like a top 13 pick in in Jordan Phillips.
- 35:18[SPEAKER_00]: And the other guy looks like the fifth rompick and it's great.
- 35:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 35:22[SPEAKER_00]: And then Zick bigger looks like neither.
- 35:24[SPEAKER_00]: Zick bigger looks like a guy that, you know, that just was under the radar and should have been probably taken in the top 50.
- 35:31[SPEAKER_02]: And really did a great job of rebuilding his body.
- 35:35[SPEAKER_02]: And you'll see, like he physically looks completely different, sir.
- 35:38[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he's not soft body to any more.
- 35:40[SPEAKER_00]: He's like kind of lean, like they list them at 320 pounds.
- 35:46[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't think he's 320 pounds.
- 35:48[SPEAKER_00]: He looks leaner.
- 35:49[SPEAKER_00]: Like he could be under 300 pounds, actually.
- 35:52[SPEAKER_00]: Seek figures.
- 35:54[SPEAKER_00]: Um, obviously, Jacob Rodriguez, right?
- 35:58[SPEAKER_00]: Like what do you want to see as far as in the second area in the linebackers?
- 36:01[SPEAKER_00]: Like I want to see Jacob Rodriguez play 30 snaps on Friday.
- 36:05[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I just want to see him get out there and, you know, do what he's been doing in the, do what he's been doing in camp, which he's showing up, you know, he's going to get the start sooner or later and it's interesting that they've been doing in the green dot.
- 36:19[SPEAKER_02]: We know Jordan Brooks doesn't like it.
- 36:21[SPEAKER_02]: And the game feels like he's slowing down.
- 36:23[SPEAKER_02]: So you just want to see have slowing down.
- 36:24[SPEAKER_02]: Again, for me, don't want to see him put this way in there.
- 36:26[SPEAKER_02]: You want to see him being the right place at the right time, makes him plays, punch some balls out.
- 36:30[SPEAKER_02]: you know, don't miss tackles, all of us.
- 36:31[SPEAKER_02]: Stay healthy, all of those things can be used to keep yourself clean, can be scraped, can you run, can you cover, can you step into and feel those are the things that you that you're keen to see and just a continuation of what he's shown.
- 36:47[SPEAKER_00]: And as far as the safeties, we know Dante Trader will not play.
- 36:51[SPEAKER_00]: He's one of those guys along with juju brands that has been promised by Jeff Haffley.
- 36:56[SPEAKER_00]: And again, like we said, this regime does not play games, including their depth chart.
- 37:00[SPEAKER_00]: Their depth chart is 100% accurate.
- 37:03[SPEAKER_00]: And we knew that the previous regime used to do little funky games with their depth chart and, you know, hide players within it.
- 37:12[SPEAKER_00]: But this one is absolutely 100% accurate.
- 37:16[SPEAKER_00]: So in their stead, I guess, you wanna see Michael Tath take a few more steps forward, right?
- 37:22[SPEAKER_00]: You wanna see what Kyle Lewis plays?
- 37:24[SPEAKER_00]: What do you wanna see from the secondary?
- 37:26[SPEAKER_00]: Like, which player do you wanna see emerge?
- 37:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and I want to see that there's been talk about Ethan Bonner, which happens every time again.
- 37:34[SPEAKER_00]: Again, I mean, it happens every year.
- 37:35[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, Bonner has an unhealthy season since he's in high school and that's not even a joke.
- 37:40[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not even being seizures.
- 37:41[SPEAKER_02]: So, I want to see Lewis Moore, who's kind of the boil a little bit of the last week or so, but I thought it started camp really strongly and was kind of around the ball and no such things.
- 37:51[SPEAKER_02]: And I want to see some more of TAF because I think TAF played really well.
- 37:55[SPEAKER_02]: And you're just looking for, you know, who else in that corner group is going to, you know, step up.
- 37:59[SPEAKER_02]: Because in Brents goes down, who else is going to be the guy and is not going to be Alex Austin, you know, or Darryl Baker, who kind of, you know, seemed to have separated themselves from everybody else a little bit.
- 38:09[SPEAKER_02]: You know, secondary safety wise, you know, beyond trader,
- 38:14[SPEAKER_02]: Taffy and Lonnie Johnson struggled a little bit.
- 38:16[SPEAKER_02]: Major burns hasn't really made an impact.
- 38:18[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, this is an opportunity for for Zayne Anderson to really kind of put a strangle hold on on one of those spots, but for me it's Taff, you know, it's the Michael Taff undersized, but always just had the mental capability of being an NFL player, you know, just
- 38:33[SPEAKER_02]: He was just so smart and the question about him is always going to be, is he physical enough, is he not as he physical enough, is he big enough, and is he athletic enough to make up for some deficiencies because the middle side of things is off the charts and if the middle side of things can carry some of the deficiencies physically then he's going to play a lot.

- 39:25[SPEAKER_00]: So these games are going to be important because they're going to play a lot and obviously because Chris Johnson might not play.

- 39:37[SPEAKER_00]: All right, we're going to call it right here.
