- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, hello there, and welcome to another episode of
- 0:02Speaker 1: the Lynch & Taco Morning Show off-the-air podcast from the
- 0:07Speaker 1: Lynch & Taco Show here at 101.1 WJRR in beautiful Maitland, Florida.
- 0:11Speaker 2: It has been a busy morning. My God, I realized,
- 0:14Speaker 2: you heard what I said when I was running to
- 0:16Speaker 2: the printer?
- 0:17Speaker 3: I go... That's Taco Bob, by the way. I'm Pat Lynch.
- 0:21Speaker 3: I said to Pat Lynch, I go, Pat, I have
- 0:24Speaker 3: not left this studio.
- 0:27Speaker 2: Besides to say, hey, Rice Man, that was the only
- 0:30Speaker 2: time in like four hours.
- 0:32Speaker 3: Rice Man is one of our coworkers. Like four hours
- 0:35Speaker 3: I haven't left this studio. To get water, to pee, nothing.
- 0:38Speaker 1: That's because you are a workaholic, Taco.
- 0:41Speaker 3: I was cranking. You are a warrior. No, I was
- 0:44Speaker 3: cranking all morning. And wowsers, all right. Okay.
- 0:50Speaker 2: I did just read a headline that gets my attention
- 0:53Speaker 2: up there. Uber cuts jobs.
- 0:55Speaker 3: Squirrel.
- 0:56Speaker 2: Most remote work jobs removed. I think that's because all
- 0:59Speaker 2: the remote.
- 1:00Speaker 3: I don't know why. Did you want to talk about that? Yeah,
- 1:05Speaker 3: I'd like to see why Uber cut jobs.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Because we have a lot of Uber drivers that listen.
- 1:11Speaker 1: I think they're talking about their corporate jobs in the
- 1:14Speaker 1: office settings, mainly on the West Coast and in Texas.
- 1:18Speaker 3: 3,000 job cuts is part of a major restructure. I
- 1:22Speaker 3: don't think they're talking about Uber drivers.
- 1:24Speaker 1: Okay. All right, I would like to, I want to
- 1:27Speaker 1: do this. I have a confession and a bit of
- 1:31Speaker 1: an apology to make to many of you.
- 1:33Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:35Speaker 1: First off, thank you to everyone who came to Fish
- 1:38Speaker 1: Lips last Friday night.
- 1:40Speaker 3: Hell yeah. That was a damn good time. It was
- 1:42Speaker 3: Friday night, time to party. Correct.
- 1:44Speaker 1: And also, thank you to everyone who signed up and
- 1:47Speaker 1: came on the sold-out offshore fiasco, our annual drift fishing trip.
- 1:53Speaker 3: Again, another... Great day. It was awesome. I think everybody
- 1:57Speaker 3: had a pretty good time. Yeah.
- 1:59Speaker 1: I was a bit of a fuddy-duddy stick in the
- 2:01Speaker 1: mud both Friday and Saturday. I tried my best to
- 2:05Speaker 1: put on a good face, but I wanted to let
- 2:08Speaker 1: you know what was going.
- 2:10Speaker 3: On with me. I knew what was going on.
- 2:12Speaker 1: I did not say anything, and now that I'm feeling
- 2:16Speaker 1: a little bit more confident that I haven't completely seriously
- 2:19Speaker 1: injured myself, I want to explain what happened because it
- 2:22Speaker 1: was a bit of a freak situation. And I've never
- 2:27Speaker 1: done anything even remotely close to what happened.
- 2:31Speaker 2: The closest you did was the time that you reached
- 2:34Speaker 2: up to get something heavy.
- 2:35Speaker 3: In your garage.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Yeah, to move a speaker off the top of a
- 2:39Speaker 1: refrigerator in the garage. I tore my right bicep.
- 2:42Speaker 3: Yeah. Okay, that was years ago.
- 2:44Speaker 1: And I know exactly what that feels like.
- 2:46Speaker 3: It's a bitch.
- 2:47Speaker 1: And you literally hear it tear when.
- 2:49Speaker 3: You do that. Because I tore my upper bicep, and
- 2:53Speaker 3: I heard it go up. pop, pop. And I almost
- 2:55Speaker 3: threw up. Okay.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Well, that was, that was an experience anyway. That's last
- 3:01Speaker 1: Friday when I was leaving here and getting ready to
- 3:04Speaker 1: travel over to Brevard County, I was leaving the building
- 3:08Speaker 1: and walking to my truck in the parking lot. And
- 3:11Speaker 1: I don't know, I guess I just wasn't really paying attention.
- 3:15Speaker 1: And my left foot caught where the sidewalk meets the
- 3:20Speaker 1: grass line where it's where that V comes together. You're
- 3:24Speaker 1: walking out of the front of the building, Taco. You're
- 3:26Speaker 1: on the sidewalk, and then you cut left to go
- 3:29Speaker 1: down the sidewalk. My foot caught on the grass part,
- 3:33Speaker 1: and I suddenly stumbled forward.
- 3:35Speaker 3: I know exactly what you're talking about, yeah.
- 3:37Speaker 1: To the point where I really thought I was going
- 3:39Speaker 1: to face plant on the concrete.
- 3:40Speaker 3: Which would have been... Probably in the parking lot or
- 3:45Speaker 3: on the sidewalk still?
- 3:46Speaker 1: Yeah, it would have been on a hard surface and
- 3:49Speaker 1: it probably would have been pretty ugly. I don't know how,
- 3:52Speaker 1: but I somehow, I stumbled forward probably five or six
- 3:56Speaker 1: steps trying to regain my balance and prevent from going down.
- 4:02Speaker 1: And the only way I was able to do that
- 4:04Speaker 1: was I flung my arms outward in hopes of Having
- 4:10Speaker 1: them in front of me to break the fall if
- 4:12Speaker 1: I was going down. But anyway, I regained my footing
- 4:16Speaker 1: and was able to continue on and get my truck
- 4:18Speaker 1: and drive over. However, when I did that, I don't
- 4:22Speaker 1: know what in the world I did. It had to
- 4:25Speaker 1: have been some sort of hyper extension just from the
- 4:27Speaker 1: violent flinging my arms forward suddenly. This, my left arm,
- 4:34Speaker 1: locked up and I couldn't extend the arm.
- 4:39Speaker 3: It was like this. It was stuck. It was literally stuck.
- 4:43Speaker 3: And I'm like, oh shit, this is bad.
- 4:46Speaker 1: And I was in an incredible amount of pain to
- 4:51Speaker 1: the point where I didn't even know if I should
- 4:53Speaker 1: get in my truck and drive.
- 4:54Speaker 3: Over to do the events. Yeah. But I was like, look,
- 4:58Speaker 3: we all have commitments to fulfill. It's bad. I can
- 5:02Speaker 3: get it looked at after the fact if I need to.
- 5:05Speaker 1: I didn't say anything. I just showed up at Fish Lips.
- 5:08Speaker 1: We did our thing. And I was in, you know, agony.
- 5:12Speaker 3: Well, you told me on the way over. I let
- 5:15Speaker 3: you know what was going on. And he's like, I
- 5:17Speaker 3: am so much pain right now. And his arm was
- 5:20Speaker 3: still pretty locked up.
- 5:22Speaker 1: Since then, it has, you know, somewhat improved. My mobility
- 5:25Speaker 1: has improved to where I can move it and stuff.
- 5:28Speaker 1: But it's still, I'm not going to be lifting anything
- 5:30Speaker 1: anytime soon. Because it was, it was hyperextended. But I wanted,
- 5:33Speaker 1: I don't know if this will show up on the
- 5:35Speaker 1: camera or not. We are now almost a week away
- 5:38Speaker 1: from when that happened last Friday.
- 5:40Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:41Speaker 1: The next day, my arm started to show this bruise
- 5:46Speaker 1: and the bruise grew and grew and grew from my
- 5:51Speaker 1: upper arm just above the elbow all the way down
- 5:54Speaker 1: my forearm to my wrist and.
- 5:56Speaker 3: Wait, from upper arm above the elbow?
- 5:58Speaker 1: I'm going to show you right now. I don't know
- 6:00Speaker 1: if this will show up on the camera or not.
- 6:03Speaker 3: Oh, my God. Yeah. I think that. From here all
- 6:07Speaker 3: the way down to my wrist. It's black and blue.
- 6:09Speaker 3: I see it. It goes to right here. Yeah. I think,
- 6:13Speaker 3: can you push it all the way out yet? Yeah, yeah.
- 6:16Speaker 2: I think you might have snapped. And I know you
- 6:19Speaker 2: said you already know the feeling from last time. I
- 6:21Speaker 2: think you might have snapped the bicep again.
- 6:23Speaker 3: No, my bicep is still there. I can feel it.
- 6:26Speaker 3: But something, it was hyperextended.
- 6:31Speaker 1: And the inflammation, it's just my body trying to fight
- 6:34Speaker 1: this off.
- 6:35Speaker 3: It's trying to get the blood out of it. Hold
- 6:38Speaker 3: it up to the, that's the shitty camera is the problem.
- 6:41Speaker 3: That one is. But if you come around, oh, that's
- 6:44Speaker 3: a good one. Yeah. I thought you were doing the one. Yeah,
- 6:49Speaker 3: you can see it.
- 6:50Speaker 2: Yeah, now put your arm like this, Pat, to the side.
- 6:54Speaker 2: And lift it up, and that way you can really
- 6:56Speaker 2: see it because you can follow the red bruise down to— wow.
- 7:02Speaker 1: So, again, this is a week removed, and I have
- 7:06Speaker 1: regained some use of.
- 7:07Speaker 3: My arm, but.
- 7:12Speaker 1: I don't know what the hell I did. It's the
- 7:15Speaker 1: only explanation I have. It was just such a sudden,
- 7:18Speaker 1: violent thrust forward that.
- 7:20Speaker 2: I— Now, when you told me this story, I thought
- 7:25Speaker 2: that you meant you took the six stumble steps, which
- 7:30Speaker 2: I've done before, and caught yourself on the ground.
- 7:34Speaker 3: I didn't know you didn't, because that's where I was thinking, hyperextend.
- 7:37Speaker 3: I did not go down, no.
- 7:38Speaker 2: I don't know how anybody could ever hyperextend their arm
- 7:42Speaker 2: just straight.
- 7:43Speaker 3: I mean, I know you went really fast.
- 7:45Speaker 1: It was flung forward, Bob. You might want to get
- 7:47Speaker 1: that checked as well. Well, I'm going to see how
- 7:49Speaker 1: it does over the weekend. It feels, compared to where
- 7:52Speaker 1: it was, it is 100% better.
- 7:55Speaker 2: Just so they could, you know, because you can go,
- 7:58Speaker 2: I don't know what you're in.
- 8:00Speaker 3: Oh, you have the CVS. All right.
- 8:02Speaker 1: No, I have insurance. If I need to go to
- 8:05Speaker 1: the doctor, I go to the doctor. Okay, cool. I'm
- 8:10Speaker 1: sure it was just exactly what I just said.
- 8:13Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:14Speaker 1: And if this persists any more beyond the weekend and
- 8:17Speaker 1: it appears to be something else, I will obviously go
- 8:19Speaker 1: get checked out.
- 8:20Speaker 3: So it still hurts?
- 8:21Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, yeah, but not anywhere near the level. I
- 8:24Speaker 1: am telling you, and I felt bad on the fishing
- 8:27Speaker 1: boat the next day because people were like, why aren't
- 8:29Speaker 1: you fishing, Lynch? And I was like, oh, I'm just
- 8:31Speaker 1: going to walk around and talk to you. I couldn't
- 8:33Speaker 1: hold the fishing pole if I had wanted to, if
- 8:36Speaker 1: I wanted to, much less if I got something on
- 8:38Speaker 1: and been able to reel anything in.
- 8:40Speaker 2: No, you would have dropped a pole and then we
- 8:43Speaker 2: would have been liable for paying for that.
- 8:44Speaker 1: I didn't need that nonsense. But yeah, I was like,
- 8:50Speaker 1: as I'm driving over there Friday night, I'm like, you're
- 8:54Speaker 1: an idiot. How did you end up doing this to yourself?
- 8:57Speaker 1: I'm like, you are an idiot.
- 8:58Speaker 2: My wife said- Just the other day. Like, I come
- 9:02Speaker 2: home from the fishing trip, and I come home.
- 9:04Speaker 3: Can you see that in the camera? Yeah, the burn. Yeah,
- 9:09Speaker 3: it's not a burn. That's a bruise. It looks like
- 9:11Speaker 3: a burn. Yeah.
- 9:12Speaker 2: So, Orit goes, good God, what happened now? She goes,
- 9:16Speaker 2: do you realize how much you get hurt? And I'm like, yeah,
- 9:19Speaker 2: I get hurt a lot. I'm accident prone.
- 9:22Speaker 3: I can't help it.
- 9:23Speaker 2: And ever since I hit my head real bad, which
- 9:27Speaker 2: thank God you avoided doing it, And I got that,
- 9:29Speaker 2: what they call TBI.
- 9:31Speaker 3: And I stumble sometimes. I get dizzy. A lot of
- 9:36Speaker 3: weird shit. So it's like, yeah, I am definitely accident prone.
- 9:40Speaker 3: I am not accident prone.
- 9:41Speaker 1: So I was like, when this happened, I'm like, man,
- 9:45Speaker 1: just watch where you're going, you idiot.
- 9:47Speaker 3: And you weren't on the phone, right?
- 9:49Speaker 1: No.
- 9:50Speaker 3: No, because you wouldn't walk on your phone. I know that.
- 9:52Speaker 3: I will tell you this. I was pretty tired.
- 9:55Speaker 2: I mentioned that he wouldn't walk and look at his
- 9:58Speaker 2: phone because he's not really a phone dude like that.
- 10:00Speaker 1: No, I'm not a phone dude, and it was— It.
- 10:03Speaker 3: Was Friday at the end of your busy week, and
- 10:05Speaker 3: you were burnt.
- 10:06Speaker 1: It was close to 3 o'clock in the afternoon, and
- 10:09Speaker 1: I still had to drive over and then do the gig.
- 10:11Speaker 1: And I was just— I was tired and.
- 10:14Speaker 3: Just— happened.
- 10:16Speaker 1: So again, my apologies if I didn't seem the best
- 10:19Speaker 1: in spirits, I tried to make the best of things
- 10:21Speaker 1: that I could, but that's what happened.
- 10:23Speaker 3: I just wanted to, I don't think anybody, nobody even
- 10:26Speaker 3: said it to me. Okay, good. Great.
- 10:28Speaker 1: I slept a lot of the time, but doing my
- 10:30Speaker 1: best to put on a game face.
- 10:32Speaker 2: Well, I have done my, my little thing and it's
- 10:35Speaker 2: not a secret. I've said it on the air. I've
- 10:38Speaker 2: done my little gimmick where I, The last two years,
- 10:42Speaker 2: I didn't even fish.
- 10:43Speaker 3: I just walked around, as you said.
- 10:46Speaker 2: Because I did it two years ago. I don't know
- 10:50Speaker 2: what the reason, but I had a towel around my neck.
- 10:53Speaker 2: It looked like I was wiping fish guts on my hand.
- 10:55Speaker 2: I wasn't planning that. And then all of a sudden,
- 10:57Speaker 2: I go, man, I haven't fished yet. And there's only
- 11:00Speaker 2: about two hours left in the trip because I was
- 11:02Speaker 2: going back and forth playing card games with people inside.
- 11:06Speaker 3: And so....
- 11:08Speaker 2: Two years ago, didn't even fish and not purposely. It
- 11:11Speaker 2: just happened like that. So then this.
- 11:14Speaker 3: Year, same thing.
- 11:15Speaker 2: I go, man, I can go out there and maybe
- 11:18Speaker 2: take a fish from a listener. And that's the lazy
- 11:22Speaker 2: look at it. And I go, or I could just
- 11:25Speaker 2: walk around and chill with people. So I went upstairs,
- 11:28Speaker 2: chilled with people out there, then went downstairs, walked around
- 11:30Speaker 2: and talked to people down in the galley, laid down
- 11:34Speaker 2: for a little nap, woke up.
- 11:35Speaker 3: Oh, it was more than a little nap. Oh, yeah. Yeah.
- 11:38Speaker 2: Well, I was out the night before until we went
- 11:41Speaker 2: from Fish Lips.
- 11:43Speaker 3: To- You went. There's no we about it.
- 11:46Speaker 2: No, me and Sean and a couple of friends and
- 11:52Speaker 2: went to Preacher's Bar. And then after that went to
- 11:56Speaker 2: the Slide Inn.
- 11:57Speaker 1: And then my understanding is you kind of lost track
- 12:00Speaker 1: of where you were at for a period of time.
- 12:01Speaker 1: And at At one point, we're on the couch in
- 12:03Speaker 1: the hotel lobby.
- 12:05Speaker 3: I go, dude, what the heck? At 3.30 in the morning. Yeah, well,
- 12:09Speaker 3: then I was taking a break. At 3.30 in the morning? Yeah.
- 12:13Speaker 2: I was like, man, I'm worn out. So, oh, I think, no,
- 12:18Speaker 2: I think that was the Saturday night, maybe. No, no,
- 12:21Speaker 2: it was.
- 12:22Speaker 1: Because, just so y'all know, I didn't drink one drop
- 12:27Speaker 1: either over the week.
- 12:28Speaker 3: I was just in misery. In that much pain, yeah.
- 12:31Speaker 3: When I left Fishlips, Bob goes, well, can I get
- 12:34Speaker 3: a ride over here tomorrow to the boat? I said, yeah.
- 12:36Speaker 1: He goes, well, what's the plan? I said, well, I'm
- 12:38Speaker 1: going to go down to the hotel lobby. They have
- 12:40Speaker 1: breakfast at 7. The boat leaves at 8. I'm going
- 12:43Speaker 1: to eat, meet me down here, and then I'm going
- 12:45Speaker 1: to drive over. So I come down at 7. I
- 12:48Speaker 1: go in and I eat.
- 12:49Speaker 3: There's no Bob. Wouldn't the boat leave at 7.30? Nope.
- 12:51Speaker 3: 8 o'clock.
- 12:53Speaker 1: I told you that. You got in an argument with me.
- 12:55Speaker 3: I said, Bob, it's 8 o'clock.
- 12:57Speaker 2: I know, but we kept telling people on the sheets
- 12:59Speaker 2: that I had that it was Boats leaving 730 sharp
- 13:03Speaker 2: is what they put in the liner thing that we read.
- 13:07Speaker 2: And I was like, he called at 715.
- 13:10Speaker 3: And he goes, dude, where are you?
- 13:13Speaker 1: No, he goes, hello. And I go, hey, Bob. He goes, yeah,
- 13:17Speaker 1: what's up? He goes, yeah, what's up? This is the
- 13:20Speaker 1: morning of the fishing trip. When we were going to
- 13:22Speaker 1: meet downstairs and eat breakfast.
- 13:24Speaker 3: I've already ate.
- 13:25Speaker 1: I've got the truck loaded, ready to drive over, back
- 13:28Speaker 1: over to the port. It's literally across the street from
- 13:29Speaker 1: the country inn and suites. And he's like, I suspect
- 13:33Speaker 1: you might have still had a bit of a buzz going. Oh, yeah,
- 13:36Speaker 1: I probably did.
- 13:37Speaker 3: Yeah. Then I didn't even take a shower, I don't think. No,
- 13:41Speaker 3: you had the same clothes on from the day before. Oh, yeah,
- 13:43Speaker 3: that's right.
- 13:43Speaker 2: I was wearing the same clothes that I wore to
- 13:46Speaker 2: fish slips the night before and then wore those fish.
- 13:49Speaker 2: And I was like, man, because when I got home,
- 13:51Speaker 2: I set everything up, all my fishing clothes right on
- 13:54Speaker 2: this mantle, fishing clothes, fishing, and I forgot it all.
- 14:00Speaker 3: Because I was in such a rush. Because, yeah. So
- 14:02Speaker 3: who told you I was sleeping on the couch at 3.30?
- 14:04Speaker 3: Several listeners. Oh, okay. Good. Yeah.
- 14:08Speaker 2: Yeah, we went out and we went hard. And then,
- 14:11Speaker 2: so Saturday, we did a wash, rinse, repeat.
- 14:16Speaker 3: And, yeah.
- 14:18Speaker 1: It's a wonder you weren't injured other than the bruise
- 14:21Speaker 1: to your arm.
- 14:22Speaker 3: And that happened. By a fishing pole.
- 14:23Speaker 2: That happened while I was walking behind somebody fishing, and
- 14:26Speaker 2: they pulled back, and it hit.
- 14:28Speaker 3: And I bruised really easily. Well, it was also right
- 14:30Speaker 3: on the bone, so. Yeah. Man, I just bruise easy.
- 14:32Speaker 2: I mean, I could pinch my arm right now, and
- 14:35Speaker 2: then I'd have a bruise right there within two minutes.
- 14:38Speaker 3: I won't do it because it sucks, and it's embarrassing.
- 14:41Speaker 2: But– So I was thinking, oh, then Saturday night we
- 14:46Speaker 2: go out, we being Paramore and I, and just we
- 14:50Speaker 2: told listeners, hey, meet us up at Fish Lips if
- 14:53Speaker 2: you want to go to dinner. We're all going to
- 14:55Speaker 2: go back and crash soon. Like 10 to 15 people
- 14:58Speaker 2: showed up. They gave us a big table because it
- 15:00Speaker 2: was slower at that time. And we went from there,
- 15:03Speaker 2: and there it was. Somebody said, well, I guess we're
- 15:07Speaker 2: going to the club. I guess one of the guys
- 15:11Speaker 2: owned it. So we end up going, I don't know
- 15:13Speaker 2: if it was, I think it was Lido's.
- 15:15Speaker 3: The Titty Club. Yeah, exactly.
- 15:18Speaker 2: So it's going to be worked in where they're trying
- 15:20Speaker 2: to work it in, where we're there after the fishing trip.
- 15:24Speaker 3: He's like, yeah, you know, it got a little out.
- 15:27Speaker 2: Of hand the previous years, so let's try to do
- 15:31Speaker 2: it next year.
- 15:33Speaker 3: I said, if we're doing it, I'm going to tell you.
- 15:35Speaker 3: I'll get back to you on that.
- 15:37Speaker 2: I already saved you because I know you so well.
- 15:40Speaker 2: I said, if If it's able to work, I'll cover.
- 15:44Speaker 2: I said, because you're not getting Pat back in here
- 15:47Speaker 2: after we've been fishing and he goes home to watch
- 15:49Speaker 2: some college football.
- 15:50Speaker 3: I said, just trust me. He goes, that's fine. So
- 15:53Speaker 3: I already looked out for you. So anyway. That's what
- 15:56Speaker 3: I did. I didn't know we were going to. Just
- 15:58Speaker 3: like you looked out for me to wake me up
- 16:00Speaker 3: to go fishing. Yeah, that was art.
- 16:04Speaker 1: I knew you were hammered because the other thing that
- 16:08Speaker 1: happened was the frantic search for your phone. Which you
- 16:12Speaker 1: were convinced you had left up in the captain's quarters
- 16:15Speaker 1: on the boat after you made some announcements.
- 16:17Speaker 3: Yep.
- 16:18Speaker 1: And we're looking for it for the entire eight-hour trip.
- 16:22Speaker 3: No, just every now and then.
- 16:23Speaker 1: And then at one point you go, maybe I left
- 16:27Speaker 1: it in your truck. I go, well, we'll check afterwards.
- 16:30Speaker 1: And he had somehow plugged it in in my truck.
- 16:33Speaker 1: But I know I didn't see it because it had
- 16:35Speaker 1: dropped down in between the seat and the console.
- 16:37Speaker 3: And it's black. Yeah. So the interior of his truck's black.
- 16:41Speaker 1: Yeah, well, it– Plugged it in for the two-minute ride
- 16:45Speaker 1: over to.
- 16:45Speaker 2: Well, because I was at like 1% juice because when I– look,
- 16:49Speaker 2: I slept with it on my chest Friday night like
- 16:52Speaker 2: this in bed with the alarm on just like that,
- 16:56Speaker 2: and that's why it rang like this.
- 17:00Speaker 1: By the way, it rang about seven times before you
- 17:02Speaker 1: picked up.
- 17:03Speaker 3: Oh, I'm sure. I was dead.
- 17:05Speaker 1: I was so surprised it didn't go to voicemail.
- 17:07Speaker 3: It's a soothing– because it was so dead, I think.
- 17:10Speaker 3: But anyway, so.
- 17:12Speaker 2: Anybody who's lost their phone, especially if.
- 17:14Speaker 3: You're on a weekend getaway, it brings it up one notch.
- 17:20Speaker 1: Losing your phone is like– I couldn't get it. It's
- 17:23Speaker 1: on the emotional level of like panic that you have when–
- 17:25Speaker 1: like if you temporarily lose track of your kid in
- 17:28Speaker 1: the store.
- 17:29Speaker 3: Yeah. Like, oh, my God. I hate to say it,
- 17:31Speaker 3: but you're right. It's the same kind of feeling.
- 17:33Speaker 2: Yeah, because I started thinking– I won't be able to
- 17:35Speaker 2: get into work on Sunday or on Monday. I can't
- 17:39Speaker 2: do this. I have to go work Sunday afternoon. Everything
- 17:44Speaker 2: was flashing through my head. Then I said, F it,
- 17:48Speaker 2: wherever it is. After a while, I was just like,
- 17:50Speaker 2: F it. I can't even think about it. I thought
- 17:53Speaker 2: about it long enough.
- 17:54Speaker 3: So, anyway. So, you're going to the UCF game tonight? Yeah,
- 17:58Speaker 3: my buddy Big Al. Well, you know Alan Big Al. Yeah. He, yesterday...
- 18:03Speaker 3: Forget how it came up, but I just walked up.
- 18:05Speaker 2: And, yeah, I've just been feeling really burnt ever since
- 18:09Speaker 2: the fishing trip.
- 18:09Speaker 3: And, well, obvious reasons now. I can understand why.
- 18:12Speaker 2: Because I didn't get any sleep. I lost my voice
- 18:14Speaker 2: for the beginning of the week. And then went straight
- 18:17Speaker 2: back to work on Sunday. Fun work, though.
- 18:20Speaker 3: But then I go, I'm finally.
- 18:22Speaker 2: Starting to feel better. So I might take you up
- 18:26Speaker 2: on it. He had an extra pass. He goes, well,
- 18:28Speaker 2: at least just come out for tailgating if you.
- 18:32Speaker 3: Want, whatever. So... Now, how does he have a suite?
- 18:35Speaker 3: He's a big donor. Oh, okay. So he's an alum? Yeah. Oh, yeah.
- 18:40Speaker 3: Big alum. Okay. He goes on the trips. The out-of-town
- 18:45Speaker 3: trips and stuff. The alums fly off to certain games. Yeah.
- 18:48Speaker 3: So he's like, yeah. Are you going to watch any
- 18:52Speaker 3: of the game? Yeah. Okay. Yeah. The problem is, that's
- 18:55Speaker 3: why I've been watching the weather. The problem is- There's
- 18:57Speaker 3: beers in those suites. Oh, shit, yeah. There are food, too.
- 19:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:01Speaker 3: The- Their tailgate is awesome.
- 19:05Speaker 2: It's like 15 alum, like UCF alum, so probably 20
- 19:09Speaker 2: UCF alum.
- 19:10Speaker 1: It's probably going to creep into your nap time, though,
- 19:12Speaker 1: isn't it?
- 19:13Speaker 3: Oh, it's going to be nap time. He's swinging by
- 19:15Speaker 3: to get me around, I think, four. Oh, you have
- 19:17Speaker 3: a ride!
- 19:18Speaker 1: He's not only supplying the passes in the suite, but
- 19:22Speaker 1: he's also acting as your driver.
- 19:24Speaker 2: No, this is where I didn't try swindling anything.
- 19:29Speaker 3: I just said.
- 19:31Speaker 2: I texted him. I said, hey, what are the plans
- 19:33Speaker 2: for tomorrow? I think I might be able to pull it.
- 19:36Speaker 2: And he texted me the whole thing. Normally, the tailgate
- 19:39Speaker 2: with all these people, Randy or whatever.
- 19:41Speaker 3: Shit, I forget his name.
- 19:42Speaker 2: Anyway, he's the chef, and he cooks, and people all
- 19:45Speaker 2: bring a side, and they have an AC unit out.
- 19:48Speaker 3: There, you know, like the one you have. keep in
- 19:50Speaker 3: your bedroom, the portable unit. And they have a couple
- 19:53Speaker 3: of those.
- 19:54Speaker 2: So it's just a great pre-party section, but this time
- 19:57Speaker 2: they're just going to do Chick-fil-A and Jersey Mike's.
- 20:01Speaker 3: I guess they're getting platter since the rain.
- 20:03Speaker 1: Well, I was just going to say, man, you're going
- 20:05Speaker 1: to be dancing with rain possibilities. There's no doubt about
- 20:09Speaker 1: it the way. This weather forecast is right now. And
- 20:11Speaker 1: I hope to God it's not one of these deals
- 20:14Speaker 1: where it delays the game because of lightning.
- 20:17Speaker 3: Lightning. Rain's not the issue if there's lightning. Because there's a.
- 20:20Speaker 1: Mandatory wait time each lightning strike.
- 20:23Speaker 3: I know.
- 20:23Speaker 2: Now, with the tailgate, it's all covered. But still, if
- 20:29Speaker 2: there's lightning. And that's why I said shit earlier during
- 20:32Speaker 2: the show. Because I looked up at the weather report.
- 20:34Speaker 2: And they're like, tailgate time, rain. And then it said
- 20:38Speaker 2: Game Start Lightning Bolt.
- 20:40Speaker 3: I'm like, come on, don't do that. But, yeah, it'll
- 20:43Speaker 3: be cool. I'll check out the new suite. I'll give
- 20:45Speaker 3: you feedback on it tomorrow.
- 20:47Speaker 1: I have a feeling I may be placing a call
- 20:48Speaker 1: to you again tomorrow morning.
- 20:50Speaker 3: No, don't say that. No, because he already texted. I'll
- 20:53Speaker 3: read you the exact. Bob here. Hey, dude, you coming
- 20:56Speaker 3: in today or what? No, no, no, trust me. He mentioned,
- 21:01Speaker 3: he goes, People are getting there between 435.
- 21:03Speaker 2: Going to have some Chick-fil-A and Jersey Mike's along with pre-drinks.
- 21:09Speaker 2: We're going to head in and check out the new thing.
- 21:11Speaker 2: Game starts at 7. He said, check out the new
- 21:15Speaker 2: box and grab some free food. And then he said,
- 21:19Speaker 2: game starts at 7. He said, should kill them.
- 21:22Speaker 3: So we'll be leaving early.
- 21:25Speaker 2: And I said, I'm in. Hey, can I listen to
- 21:28Speaker 2: this text? It's 604 last night. Can I road out
- 21:31Speaker 2: there with you? Mike, my phone's been screwed up. Can
- 21:35Speaker 2: I ride out there with you or want me to
- 21:37Speaker 2: meet you there? I go, wow, sorry for the typos.
- 21:40Speaker 3: And he goes, I'll come pick you up. There's no
- 21:43Speaker 3: way in hell you're going to meet him there. Yeah,
- 21:45Speaker 3: I was. Not driving yourself. No, I Ubered there last time. Right, right.
- 21:49Speaker 2: Dave and I did. Delta Dave and I. That's when
- 21:51Speaker 2: Delta Dave got to go down on the field.
- 21:53Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, it was badass. He asked me, he goes,
- 21:57Speaker 3: you want to go down on the field? I go, no.
- 21:59Speaker 3: You know what? Dave would probably be like, Dave's like,
- 22:01Speaker 3: holy goodness, this is the coolest ever. But, yeah, Big
- 22:04Speaker 3: Al's cool. You all, a lot of you have met
- 22:07Speaker 3: him at Earth Day, Birthday, and Rockville.
- 22:10Speaker 1: All right, dude, well, have fun tonight. And I'm just
- 22:13Speaker 1: glad college football is, well, back in earnest now. I
- 22:16Speaker 1: know we had a smattering of games last weekend.
- 22:19Speaker 3: Real games.
- 22:20Speaker 1: Starting tonight and then Friday and Saturday. There's game Sunday.
- 22:24Speaker 1: And then there's, oof.
- 22:25Speaker 3: I think the most interesting game of the weekend is
- 22:27Speaker 3: Monday night. And what is that? That is SMU at FSU. Oh, yeah.
- 22:33Speaker 3: I'm sorry. FSU did not look good. No, they did not.
- 22:37Speaker 1: And SMU is another one of those teams that... Ask
- 22:41Speaker 1: the Miami Hurricanes about SMU.
- 22:43Speaker 3: SMU, you know a large portion of that? They got cash.
- 22:48Speaker 3: All the people that go to SMU.
- 22:50Speaker 1: Well, their coach is a former Canes coach.
- 22:52Speaker 3: Yep.
- 22:53Speaker 1: So, you know, it's... And, yeah, the cash, you're absolutely
- 22:56Speaker 1: spot on with that. That is one of the more
- 22:58Speaker 1: well-off fan bases there is.
- 23:00Speaker 3: All right. Whoever your team is, man, best of luck
- 23:04Speaker 3: this season. Yeah, I hope they win. And after this,
- 23:07Speaker 3: this is just the appetizer.
- 23:08Speaker 2: I know college is even more popular now almost than NFL,
- 23:12Speaker 2: but then we get NFL, and it's all good teams
- 23:15Speaker 2: in both college and pro this year, this season.
- 23:19Speaker 3: Have you noticed that? Oh, yeah. The Miami Dolphins, good team. Okay,
- 23:23Speaker 3: all good. Mostly good. There's a lot of shitty teams, Taco.
- 23:26Speaker 3: There are, but mostly good.
- 23:28Speaker 2: I'm saying when you're—I think— hey.
- 23:31Speaker 3: I focus on the top teams.
- 23:33Speaker 2: When you have the Chiefs, who have the jaded guy
- 23:37Speaker 2: that left the Super Bowl, Seattle.
- 23:39Speaker 3: Kenneth Walker. Yeah, Walker.
- 23:41Speaker 2: So you have the Chiefs. Okay, obviously— Whatchamacallit's number one.
- 23:47Speaker 3: The Rams.
- 23:48Speaker 2: Rams, thank you. Rams, you still have Seattle. You have
- 23:51Speaker 2: the Chiefs. You have the Giants.
- 23:54Speaker 3: You have a lot of good teams. I just know,
- 23:57Speaker 3: sorry Miami fans, not so much for you. Not any
- 24:01Speaker 3: for us. I know. Nothing. We are aiming for the
- 24:04Speaker 3: imperfect season. I have one of your running backs. Imperfect season. So.
- 24:09Speaker 3: You got A-Chain? Uh-huh. Yeah, okay. Yeah, I have A-chain.
- 24:13Speaker 1: Hopefully you won't be crippled by the end of the
- 24:16Speaker 1: first or second game.
- 24:17Speaker 2: I'm keeping him in because I'm figuring that quarterback's going
- 24:20Speaker 2: to be doing the.
- 24:22Speaker 3: Give it to A-chain. Give it to A-chain now. Boom, boom, boom.
- 24:26Speaker 3: Hopefully rack it up for me. All right. Who is
- 24:30Speaker 3: your quarterback again? I forgot. Who cares? Yeah, exactly. Who cares?
- 24:35Speaker 3: All right, everybody.
- 24:35Speaker 1: Thank you for checking out Lynch & Taco's off-the-air podcast.
- 24:38Speaker 1: New episodes most Thursdays. Whether you're watching it live or
- 24:42Speaker 1: getting after the fact, we do appreciate you checking things out.

- 24:48Speaker 2: tomorrow off, hope you have a very nice Labor Day weekend.
- 24:52Speaker 3: Yeah. And safe. Yeah.
- 24:54Speaker 2: Well, we'll see you tomorrow, 5 a.m. on the regular
- 24:56Speaker 2: show or on Tuesday.
- 25:02Speaker 3: Yep. Yep. All right. That is all. See ya.
