- 0:00How do you as an entrepreneur see the evolution of technology
- 0:03in last few years and what's in scope for us in coming?
- 0:06Years, yeah. It's funny because you know,
- 0:09today anywhere you go, everybody always talks about AI.
- 0:13There's over 60,000 companies out there right now that are
- 0:17doing AI. And The funny thing about AI is
- 0:21we are in the most entry level of AI that you could think of,
- 0:26right? Like we say AI, what is AI?
- 0:29Artificial artificial intelligence, but there's
- 0:32nothing artificial about Chachi PT or any of these GPTS or any
- 0:37of these services that we use, right?
- 0:38I mean, when we talk about AI, really what we're thinking about
- 0:44is the future and evolution of AI is that AI itself is going to
- 0:48think on its own. You know, so when you come home,
- 0:52the if you're going to have a robot in your house, the robot
- 0:55is going to see you, it's going to come to you, It's going to
- 0:57take your bags, You know, you're not going to have to say, hey,
- 1:00come help me out, right. And and so that's kind of where
- 1:03the future is kind of going with AI specifically.
- 1:06And, you know, right now it's just the fact that AI is taking
- 1:11up so much of everybody's mind and talking and everything on
- 1:17such a simple, basic level of AI.
- 1:21It's really going to be extraordinary what's going to
- 1:23happen over the next decade or so, especially when you take
- 1:26like Elon Musk, you know, he, he, he changed out his entire
- 1:31factory instead of doing cars that and the Model S and the
- 1:35Model X. He's he's going to only be
- 1:38making robots, you know, So this version of the next 10 years
- 1:44that we're going to be seeing, none of us could ever have
- 1:47imagined that even five years ago.
- 1:50You know, I'll tell you this, I've been in tech for for years,
- 1:54going to see us every year. You know, you go to Berlin every
- 1:57year. I mean, we're seeing everything,
- 2:00you know, but the fact that we're moving so quickly, I don't
- 2:05think you or I-10 years ago would have ever guessed that we
- 2:09would have been so far advanced today than we than we really
- 2:14are. So yeah.
- 2:16No, I'm sure and I certainly agree that there are immense
- 2:19amount of opportunities that this technology evolution
- 2:22provides and especially AI and we are at the start of this
- 2:25journey. But the two factors that create
- 2:29this doubt or this buzz in the media, one is the risk and 2nd
- 2:34is the invasiveness. Like you mentioned in your
- 2:36example, you come home, your robo comes to you and asks how
- 2:41are you, Takes your bag, do you want a coffee?
- 2:44How are you feeling today? Now some people find it
- 2:47invasive, some people find it their personal space is being
- 2:51invaded. You would have heard in
- 2:54Australian Open recently there were cameras all around and some
- 2:57people, some players complained saying this is too much.
- 3:01We do have our private space. Yes, we are commodities to an
- 3:05extent. Yes, people love to watch what
- 3:07we do, but they cannot be everywhere, They cannot go
- 3:11everywhere, and that's the same thing.
- 3:12So how do you see this invasiveness of the risk factor
- 3:16of technology as well? Yeah, I mean, it's, it's kind of
- 3:19hard to say because we're in we're in the age of information,
- 3:23right? We're in the age that technology
- 3:25is just getting more and more advanced.
- 3:27I mean, you know, if you were in 1980s or even early 2000, it's
- 3:32very big difference. But today, you know, the fact
- 3:35that you have like, there's so much more than just that simple
- 3:39example that you gave. But if you go to China, there's
- 3:41cameras on every single corner, right?
- 3:43They're, they're tracking even the mph or the kilometres per
- 3:48hour that you're walking at, You know, so I, I, I would have to
- 3:53say this, right, In terms of that, my example was government.
- 3:56And obviously you don't want government like taking over
- 4:02completely where they're tracking every movement that
- 4:05you're doing right. But I, I think in a personal
- 4:09level and more of like a consumer based level, you know,
- 4:12you're talking about the example the athlete was saying that
- 4:15there's just too many cameras. I mean, at the end of the day,
- 4:19it's funny because we, we want, we want privacy, but we also
- 4:25want to log things, right. So as a like if something, God
- 4:31forbid happened to him in into a hotel room or anywhere else, you
- 4:35would say where are the cameras? Why aren't there cameras?
- 4:38You know, so, but so you're willing in certain aspects to
- 4:42give up some privacy. But specifically, you know, I
- 4:46think it's the responsibility of the company or the companies,
- 4:50whoever releasing these products, you know, they owe it
- 4:53to their consumers twofold, right?
- 4:55Number one is, hey, if if they're going to if they're
- 4:58going to have a lot of cameras, I think it's their
- 5:00responsibility to tell you like, Hey, you know, there's cameras
- 5:03everywhere. That's number one.
- 5:06But then the other part is how do you make sure that all of
- 5:09that is secure, right? Because you don't want cameras
- 5:14that are going to be hacked. You don't want people to get
- 5:16access to cameras if you're if it's showing your entire world.
- 5:20And I think, you know, you asked me specifically about the
- 5:24example I gave before. We're going to have a robot that
- 5:27that's going to be in your home. You know, so really the
- 5:30important part is So what are they going to do with that
- 5:33footage, right? Is that going to be uploaded to,
- 5:38we use Tesla as an example, is that footage going to be
- 5:40uploaded to Tesla servers, right?
- 5:43So I don't want it to be, right. If I had a robot in my home, I
- 5:48wouldn't want it to be. And if Tesla could not ensure
- 5:53that it's not going to be uploaded to their servers, then
- 5:56I wouldn't, I wouldn't buy that, right?
- 5:58It's my responsibility on top of the, the the company that if you
- 6:03don't want it, if you don't feel comfortable with it, you're not
- 6:06forced to have these products, right?
- 6:08You're choosing, you're choosing as a consumer you, if you know
- 6:13what their security is like and where they're going to be saving
- 6:17that footage or anything else, you know that at the end of the
- 6:21day, it's it's really up to you. You don't have to buy a robot.
- 6:25You don't have to stay in a home or a hotel that has 1000
- 6:29cameras. You don't have to go to China if
- 6:31you don't want to be videoed, you know.
- 6:34So it's, it's kind of twofold. It's the responsibility falls on
- 6:40the company or the government or whoever's releasing these
- 6:42products. And then the second thing is if
- 6:45you don't accept it, you don't have to accept it.
- 6:47And if you don't want to accept it, don't buy those products or
- 6:51use those services. To catch the full discussion,
