- 2:53Speaker 1: All right, let's get into some high school football real
- 2:55Speaker 1: quick before we get Joseph Lissy on. Big weekend in
- 2:57Speaker 1: high school football as everybody's in region play, everybody's battling for,
- 3:01Speaker 1: and I just said for, everybody's battling for playoff spots.
- 3:05Speaker 1: You got number six, Oxford, five and one. At number 10, Germantown. Germantown,
- 3:09Speaker 1: who had a double overtime win or an overtime win,
- 3:12Speaker 1: or was it even an overtime win? I think it
- 3:13Speaker 1: was just a win. It was Brandon that had the
- 3:15Speaker 1: double overtime win. But Germantown gets the win over Starkville
- 3:18Speaker 1: last week. You got Germantown at four and two, taking
- 3:21Speaker 1: on Oxford, five and one. Six-ranked Chargers head down 55
- 3:24Speaker 1: south to take on the Mavs of 2-7-A. And it
- 3:29Speaker 1: should be a barn burner. Brandon Shields on Mississippi Gridiron
- 3:32Speaker 1: picks Germantown to win 38-35.
- 3:35Speaker 2: And I think it's going to be that close. And
- 3:36Speaker 2: I think it's a coin flip on who wins that.
- 3:38Speaker 1: The game I'll be on and calling Brandon, number two
- 3:41Speaker 1: in the state, five and one, takes on number four, Petal,
- 3:44Speaker 1: six and one. And boy, these two teams, this will
- 3:47Speaker 1: be the 15th meeting between the two programs. It should
- 3:49Speaker 1: be a barn burner. Petal won last year, 27-21. Brandon,
- 3:53Speaker 1: I have picked to win.
- 3:54Speaker 4: Surprise, surprise.
- 3:55Speaker 2: So does Brandon Shields. 31-21.
- 3:58Speaker 1: And a game to watch in Region 3-7-8. Oak Grove,
- 4:02Speaker 1: who is undefeated, tied with Brandon at the top of
- 4:04Speaker 1: the rankings there. They take on, and they're number three
- 4:07Speaker 1: in the state, 5-1. They take on 4-2 Meridian. Meridian
- 4:12Speaker 1: travels over to Oak Grove as Tony Vance has really
- 4:16Speaker 1: worked quickly to turn Meridian around at 4-2.
- 4:19Speaker 2: I like Oak Grove to win the game. I think
- 4:22Speaker 2: Meridian puts up a fight.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Schiltz has Oak Grove Slated to win 38-21.
- 4:26Speaker 4: St.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Martin 6-1 at D'Aberville 7-0.
- 4:29Speaker 4: St.
- 4:29Speaker 1: Martin took it on the chin a couple weeks ago
- 4:31Speaker 1: against Gulfport, their first loss of the season. This is
- 4:34Speaker 1: Region 4-7A. D'Aberville looks to be the part and be
- 4:37Speaker 1: a challenger there in 4-7A and maybe even the South
- 4:40Speaker 1: State as well. D'Aberville picked to win 37-20. Pick a U,
- 4:44Speaker 1: trying to get back on the right side of things.
- 4:46Speaker 1: They take on Hancock. Both teams are 3-3. Pick a
- 4:49Speaker 1: U with a slow start. They have started to pick
- 4:51Speaker 1: up steam. As they get into region play, pick a unit,
- 4:54Speaker 1: pick to win pretty big here, 40-26.
- 4:57Speaker 2: Canton takes on Neshoba Central, 6-0. Canton, how about that?
- 5:01Speaker 2: Canton is 6-0, taking on Neshoba Central.
- 5:04Speaker 1: Neshoba Central, their pick to win, 35-30, and give Canton
- 5:08Speaker 1: their first loss of the season.
- 5:09Speaker 2: Raleigh taking on McGee, 5-1, 6-1.
- 5:12Speaker 1: This is a big matchup in 3A, in class region 6-3A.
- 5:18Speaker 2: Both these teams have it.
- 5:20Speaker 1: Big playoff aspirations, and both these teams could go far
- 5:23Speaker 1: in the playoffs as we hit the playoffs coming up
- 5:24Speaker 1: here in about a month.
- 5:26Speaker 2: Raleigh picked to win this game 30-16.
- 5:29Speaker 1: Also, Eupora, 7-0, taking on Kemper County, 6-1, Region 4-3A.
- 5:36Speaker 1: And Kemper County picked to win this matchup 40-28. MAIS,
- 5:40Speaker 1: Jackson Academy, Raiders, 7-1, taking on the MRA Patriots.
- 5:46Speaker 2: The Patriots versus the Raiders.
- 5:48Speaker 1: As Jackson Academy took it on the chin a couple
- 5:50Speaker 1: weeks ago to Jackson Prep, they are picked to win
- 5:53Speaker 1: a close one over off of Old Kent.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Road there at MRA, 31-27.
- 5:58Speaker 1: Starville Academy, 5-2, taking on Mag Heights, 6-1. As you
- 6:03Speaker 1: got MAIS District 14A, big matchup going on this weekend
- 6:08Speaker 1: at Mag Heights. And Mag Heights picked to win 28-17.
- 6:14Speaker 1: And that's a little wrap on high school football today.
- 6:17Speaker 1: As we get set for the weekend, it should be
- 6:18Speaker 1: a great weekend of high school football. Also should be
- 6:21Speaker 1: a great weekend in college and the NFL. Staying with
- 6:25Speaker 1: high school real quick, let me tell you about a
- 6:27Speaker 1: story that happened. Well, I'll just tell you, I was
- 6:31Speaker 1: looking for the piece, but a very weird story. So
- 6:34Speaker 1: that we talked about on the drive today. Out of
- 6:37Speaker 1: the state of Oregon, there was a football team, a
- 6:39Speaker 1: Catholic school. They've been playing another team that had only
- 6:41Speaker 1: 16 guys on the team.
- 6:43Speaker 2: It was 65 to nothing. at the half, and they
- 6:47Speaker 2: had attempted two onside kicks.
- 6:49Speaker 1: It was 65 to nothing. The teams decided to call
- 6:51Speaker 1: the ball game. The other team said, hey, look, we're out.
- 6:53Speaker 2: We tap out. They had given up over 150 points
- 6:57Speaker 2: over the last three.
- 6:57Speaker 1: Weeks, and the Catholic school fired the head football coach.
- 7:03Speaker 1: He didn't do anything malicious. He didn't do anything undercover.
- 7:06Speaker 1: He didn't grab a player. He wasn't having a relationship
- 7:09Speaker 1: with a teacher or student, nothing. The Catholic school just said, hey,
- 7:12Speaker 1: He doesn't hold our values of what we have here,
- 7:15Speaker 1: and we don't want coaches acting like that. And that's
- 7:18Speaker 1: the first time I've ever heard of a football coach
- 7:21Speaker 1: in high school being fired over winning too much.
- 7:25Speaker 2: Where are we? Where are we in this world? Joseph Lissy,
- 7:28Speaker 2: you can find him on X. And, of course, check
- 7:31Speaker 2: out his show. We'll tell you where to do that,
- 7:33Speaker 2: as he always joins us on Wednesdays. Lissy, I appreciate you, brother.
- 7:38Speaker 4: Can you hear me?
- 7:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I got you.
- 7:41Speaker 4: Sorry about that, Jake. Yeah, no, I'm excited for week seven.
- 7:44Speaker 4: I can't believe it's week seven already, but there's so
- 7:48Speaker 4: much that we have to unfold because this season is
- 7:52Speaker 4: far from over. I mean, we know Georgia's dominance right now.
- 7:55Speaker 4: They're one of the best teams in the country. But
- 7:58Speaker 4: the unknown about teams like Oregon and some of the others,
- 8:03Speaker 4: like are they going to actually miss out on the
- 8:06Speaker 4: college football playoff could be catastrophic. for some of these
- 8:10Speaker 4: programs catastrophic. If Ohio state loses against Indiana, I'm just
- 8:15Speaker 4: saying like some of these teams that we thought were
- 8:18Speaker 4: shoe-ins for one or two losses at the most this
- 8:22Speaker 4: year could have potentially two, three or four losses.
- 8:26Speaker 2: No, you're right. I mean, it is a big weekend
- 8:28Speaker 2: and hopefully you can, can you hear me now better?
- 8:30Speaker 4: Yes, I got you.
- 8:31Speaker 2: Perfect. Yeah, no, you're right. I mean, and we've talked
- 8:33Speaker 2: about it this week on my.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Show is, you know, the money that all these teams
- 8:38Speaker 1: put in and you're talking 40, 45 million, whatever the
- 8:40Speaker 1: number may be, Oregon, Texas, A & M, you know,
- 8:44Speaker 1: Texas looks lethargic. We'll get into Texas as they take
- 8:47Speaker 1: on Florida here in a bit, but you're right. I mean,
- 8:49Speaker 1: there are teams that are in big, big trouble LSU
- 8:53Speaker 1: with the loss of Kentucky LSU is in trouble.
- 8:56Speaker 2: So let's jump right to it. Mississippi state takes on LSU.
- 9:00Speaker 2: Let's start on the early slate.
- 9:01Speaker 1: And you know, the, the, Camario Taylor's story, we don't know.
- 9:04Speaker 1: He was listed as questionable on the first release tonight
- 9:07Speaker 1: by Jeff Levy. I don't know that he's going to play,
- 9:10Speaker 1: just from what we're hearing. It could be turf toe.
- 9:12Speaker 1: It could be out a week. It could be two weeks.
- 9:13Speaker 4: It could be three.
- 9:14Speaker 2: Nobody knows. But they go down to LSU and play.
- 9:18Speaker 1: I think LSU, especially if Billy Puckett is the quarterback
- 9:20Speaker 1: for Mississippi State.
- 9:22Speaker 2: LSU will win.
- 9:23Speaker 1: But looking down the road for LSU, and Mississippi State has,
- 9:26Speaker 1: you know, still a lot of season ahead of them
- 9:28Speaker 1: even if they lose.
- 9:29Speaker 2: They can still make a bowl game. Right. But LSU
- 9:32Speaker 2: didn't pay Lane Kiffin to go to a bowl game.
- 9:34Speaker 4: No, no. And they paid Lane Kiffin $ 13 million, 91
- 9:40Speaker 4: over seven years, right, to erase the negativity of Brian Kelly.
- 9:45Speaker 4: And Brian Kelly had great success in year one. He
- 9:48Speaker 4: wins the SEC West. He knocks off Saban in Death Valley,
- 9:51Speaker 4: rolls the dice, goes for two. And it was a
- 9:54Speaker 4: slow erosion year after year after year. And I said
- 9:58Speaker 4: to Coach Bowden when we did the show this week,
- 10:01Speaker 4: did LSU, like the team, ever, like look at the
- 10:06Speaker 4: response from Ole Miss last week against Vandy, right? That's
- 10:12Speaker 4: a team, no doubt, played a bad game against Florida.
- 10:15Speaker 4: They came out flat. They got blown out. They had
- 10:17Speaker 4: a week to think about it. They throttled Vanderbilt because
- 10:21Speaker 4: that's what you're supposed to do when you have your
- 10:23Speaker 4: sights set on a college football playoff and you believe
- 10:26Speaker 4: that you're a contender. This team believes they can get
- 10:29Speaker 4: back with Trinidad Chambliss. No matter how weak you think
- 10:33Speaker 4: the defense is, they think they can go out there
- 10:35Speaker 4: and outscore anybody. But did you ever get that feeling
- 10:39Speaker 4: about LSU even after they lost to Ole Miss? I
- 10:42Speaker 4: feel like they just... They go out there and at times,
- 10:46Speaker 4: and they did this under Brian Kelly, they played down
- 10:49Speaker 4: to the level of competition. And now you saw and
- 10:52Speaker 4: see how bad offensively Texas A & M is. So
- 10:55Speaker 4: that 29 point win doesn't look that great. The 41
- 11:01Speaker 4: point win against Clemson doesn't look great when you have
- 11:05Speaker 4: that offense and how anemic they are and inconsistent. So
- 11:09Speaker 4: how good really is LSU? And to think that they
- 11:14Speaker 4: paid him and gave him how much more for roster?
- 11:17Speaker 4: $ 15 million more than Brian Kelly, and this is the result?
- 11:23Speaker 4: And I've said it to you. Look, I think Blake
- 11:27Speaker 4: Baker's a good defensive coordinator. I said this on my show,
- 11:31Speaker 4: and I'll get your take. Tell me if I'm wrong.
- 11:35Speaker 4: And it was a great win by Oklahoma, okay? And
- 11:38Speaker 4: I had them, and I'm happy, and that probably saved
- 11:41Speaker 4: Venables for the time being. But if you told me, Joe,
- 11:47Speaker 4: in 2027, head coach LSU, right? Lane Kiffin, D coordinators,
- 11:54Speaker 4: Brett Venables. I'm in for a national championship.
- 11:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:59Speaker 4: I'm in for a national championship. I never bought into
- 12:02Speaker 4: Blake Baker. It's not that he's not a good coordinator.
- 12:05Speaker 4: He's not an elite coordinator. And you see these lapses.
- 12:09Speaker 4: You saw the laps against Ole Miss. You see the
- 12:11Speaker 4: laps against Will Steiner, first year head coach. You can't
- 12:14Speaker 4: have that when you're paying $ 13 million a year. This
- 12:18Speaker 4: isn't South Carolina. This isn't Boston College. This is LSU.
- 12:23Speaker 4: And I bought into the program. I love the Tigers.
- 12:26Speaker 4: And I love, you know, growing up in Jersey, I
- 12:28Speaker 4: love the Bulldogs. I love certain teams, and I grew up,
- 12:31Speaker 4: and I'm friends with a lot of different former players.
- 12:35Speaker 4: But I buy into the program, but this is unacceptable.
- 12:39Speaker 4: You can't lose that game.
- 12:41Speaker 2: No, you're absolutely correct. No, I agree with you.
- 12:43Speaker 4: You can't.
- 12:43Speaker 1: And they're up against the wall now. Hey, Indiana takes
- 12:48Speaker 1: on Ohio State Saturday. I went down a deep dive
- 12:51Speaker 1: on Indiana today, and.
- 12:53Speaker 2: Here's kind of what I found.
- 12:55Speaker 1: If you go back a year ago today, Indiana come
- 12:59Speaker 1: off a close win against Iowa. They were traveling to Oregon.
- 13:03Speaker 1: They beat Oregon on this weekend a year ago in overtime.
- 13:06Speaker 1: Fernando Mendoza, after this weekend last year, had 17 touchdowns
- 13:10Speaker 1: and two interceptions. Indiana just comes off two big wins,
- 13:14Speaker 1: close wins against Northwestern and Nebraska.
- 13:18Speaker 2: And then now you look at Josh Hoover.
- 13:20Speaker 1: He's got 17 touchdowns going into this weekend and no interceptions.
- 13:24Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 13:25Speaker 1: He is on the same trajectory, at least statistically, as Mendoza. Now,
- 13:29Speaker 1: it's a big one this weekend.
- 13:31Speaker 4: It is.
- 13:31Speaker 1: Can they get it done, and can they reclaim that
- 13:35Speaker 1: national spotlight?
- 13:36Speaker 4: They can. So let me go through the numbers, and
- 13:38Speaker 4: then I'll talk to you about Hoover. So the numbers,
- 13:44Speaker 4: prior to last year's Big Ten championship game, Indiana was 0-31-1.
- 13:50Speaker 4: if you count the vacated wins with Jim Trestle, which
- 13:53Speaker 4: I do, listen, they played the games. Whether you vacate
- 13:56Speaker 4: the wins is insignificant. They played on the football field.
- 14:00Speaker 4: Ohio State won. So they were the Hoosiers 0-31-1 against
- 14:05Speaker 4: the Buckeyes. They had a tie in 1990 when Greg
- 14:09Speaker 4: Fry was there with John Cooper, and it was Robert
- 14:12Speaker 4: Smith and that team. And then the last time they
- 14:15Speaker 4: won was in Bloomington in 1988. They won. I think
- 14:19Speaker 4: they blew them out 41 to 13. I got to
- 14:21Speaker 4: look at the score. Point being, they shut down Julian
- 14:25Speaker 4: saying they win that game 13 to 10 in the
- 14:28Speaker 4: Big Ten Championship. They foresay into methodically work down the field.
- 14:32Speaker 4: They played a lot of zone and they kept everything
- 14:35Speaker 4: in front of them. They never made mistakes. They had
- 14:37Speaker 4: the number one turnover margin in the nation. And I
- 14:40Speaker 4: think it continues. Here's the thing. They are 19-0 at
- 14:43Speaker 4: home under Signetti. They haven't lost. And they've won those
- 14:47Speaker 4: games by an average margin against FBS opponents, I believe,
- 14:51Speaker 4: of 31.4 points per game. They're balanced, 221 on the ground,
- 14:55Speaker 4: 241 through the air. They're only giving up 188 passing
- 14:59Speaker 4: yards per game, 54% completion percentage. Hey, Jeremiah Smith's on
- 15:05Speaker 4: an amazing run, just like Devontae Smith in 2020. Over
- 15:09Speaker 4: the last three games, 25 receptions, over 500 yards, eight
- 15:13Speaker 4: receiving touchdowns. He's going to get his, but I still
- 15:16Speaker 4: think it comes down to the rushing attack. Now, Nebraska
- 15:19Speaker 4: held them to under 100, but they're still averaging 6.4
- 15:23Speaker 4: yards per carry. And to your point about Hoover, last
- 15:27Speaker 4: year he was 29 and 13. He's 17 and 0
- 15:31Speaker 4: right now. Touchdowns to interceptions. So, you know, Sonny Dyches
- 15:36Speaker 4: wanted to bash him, but I guess Cignetti knew something, right?
- 15:39Speaker 4: When you have a rushing attack and you have a defense,
- 15:42Speaker 4: all of a sudden there's no turnovers. This is a
- 15:45Speaker 4: fascinating game. We know on paper better athletes across for
- 15:50Speaker 4: Ohio State, but I think this. Right now, as long
- 15:54Speaker 4: as Hoover doesn't turn the football over, I think it's,
- 15:57Speaker 4: you know, they're in the game. They have the better
- 16:00Speaker 4: rushing attack, obviously, 221 versus 165. for the Buckeyes. And again,
- 16:08Speaker 4: Cignetti's a much better coach, I think, at big spots.
- 16:11Speaker 4: So give me the three and a half. I think
- 16:14Speaker 4: they knock off Ohio State for the second time and
- 16:17Speaker 4: the first time since 88, but the second time in
- 16:20Speaker 4: a year, give me the Hoosiers to get back on top.
- 16:23Speaker 1: Boy, yeah, and I tell you what, I'm not a
- 16:26Speaker 1: fan of either team, but I love the Indiana story.
- 16:29Speaker 4: Yeah, me too.
- 16:30Speaker 1: Love what Cignetti's doing. I don't love what Arch Manning's doing.
- 16:33Speaker 1: And I don't know what he's doing. And, you know,
- 16:36Speaker 1: now the conversation piece about, you know, is he like Peyton?
- 16:39Speaker 2: Is he like Eli? You know, and all the jokes.
- 16:41Speaker 1: But they've got a team coming in in Florida who
- 16:44Speaker 1: beat them last year.
- 16:45Speaker 2: Florida's reeling themselves.
- 16:47Speaker 1: You know, and I said this with, you know, when
- 16:51Speaker 1: you look at what's going on at Florida and then
- 16:53Speaker 1: you look at what's going on at James Madison now,
- 16:56Speaker 1: that they're 5-0. I mean, they're 5-0. You know, you
- 17:00Speaker 1: have to ask yourself– is there a Billy Napier problem
- 17:02Speaker 1: at Florida? Is it a Florida problem? Which team gets
- 17:04Speaker 1: off the mat this week?
- 17:05Speaker 4: Jeez. I'll tell you. Did you see the report? All
- 17:09Speaker 4: James Madison coaches, Cignetti, Chesney, and Napier undefeated. What is it?
- 17:15Speaker 4: 19 to five and Oh, six and Oh, whatever. Uh,
- 17:18Speaker 4: they're like 19 and Oh, uh, combined this year or something,
- 17:21Speaker 4: some crazy number like that. That's amazing. Uh, Yeah, well,
- 17:25Speaker 4: James Madison's like North Dakota State right before they moved
- 17:29Speaker 4: up to FBS. Whoever gets that job, it was climbing
- 17:32Speaker 4: and then right. And then and then they just keep
- 17:35Speaker 4: moving on. And that train keeps moving. It's sort of
- 17:37Speaker 4: similar to James Madison in what they've done. But Napier
- 17:41Speaker 4: has done a great job. And, you know, they didn't.
- 17:44Speaker 4: Sunbelt Billy, right? He performs when the pressure's not on there, right?
- 17:52Speaker 4: It doesn't matter who you get in Florida lately. It
- 17:55Speaker 4: reminds me more of Ron Zook than it does anything else, right?
- 17:59Speaker 4: They were carrying Summerall through the streets of Gainesville not
- 18:03Speaker 4: too long ago, right? He was a combination of Urban
- 18:06Speaker 4: and Spurrier all in one. Here's the thing. Aaron Filo's
- 18:11Speaker 4: supposedly not going to play You're right that they haven't.
- 18:16Speaker 4: The game last year, they were 2.5-point dogs unranked. They
- 18:20Speaker 4: won 29-21. But I don't know what you're going to
- 18:24Speaker 4: get out of this game. I mean, if you're asking me, Joe,
- 18:26Speaker 4: you've got to pick a side, I probably would take
- 18:28Speaker 4: the 11 with the backup quarterback because even though Texas
- 18:32Speaker 4: is 9-0, they were 6-0 last year at home against
- 18:36Speaker 4: FBS opponents. They won by 21.3 points per game at home.
- 18:40Speaker 4: This year, they're 3-0. I think they've won the games
- 18:43Speaker 4: this year by 25.6 points per game. So they haven't
- 18:46Speaker 4: lost in a year and a half at home, right?
- 18:50Speaker 4: But this team, and I've said this, I never bought
- 18:53Speaker 4: into Arch Manning being an elite quarterback. And people bash me.
- 18:57Speaker 4: I put out my top five at the start of
- 18:59Speaker 4: the year, and some were right, some were wrong. I
- 19:02Speaker 4: had my top quarterback as Trinidad Jamless. I had number two.
- 19:06Speaker 4: I'm trying to think who I had. Number two, I
- 19:09Speaker 4: might have had Mateer up in the top five. That
- 19:12Speaker 4: was wrong. And obviously Marcel Reed. But I had Arch
- 19:15Speaker 4: Manning fifth. I think I had, who else did I
- 19:18Speaker 4: have in there? Cutter Stockton was up there because I
- 19:21Speaker 4: think he doesn't get enough credit. And those throws that
- 19:24Speaker 4: he made in the fourth quarter with dimes to keep
- 19:27Speaker 4: those drives alive. But that's besides the point. I just
- 19:30Speaker 4: never thought Arch Manning was elite. He could be like
- 19:34Speaker 4: his uncle who never bought B Florida, and it wasn't
- 19:38Speaker 4: until T. Martin got there that they won a national championship.
- 19:42Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 19:42Speaker 4: I'm just saying. There's stupid mistakes. You know, the game's
- 19:48Speaker 4: on the line. You throw the pick six. You know,
- 19:51Speaker 4: the mental errors. He looks like a deer in the
- 19:54Speaker 4: headlights at times. I've never seen him throw for 400
- 19:58Speaker 4: yards and just, you know, against a power four opponent that,
- 20:02Speaker 4: you know, is an elite team. Show me something against Georgia.
- 20:07Speaker 4: You haven't done that. Show me something where you light
- 20:09Speaker 4: it up. for 450 yards against Ohio State. It was
- 20:13Speaker 4: the rushing attack that dominated. I mean, I don't think
- 20:16Speaker 4: he's elite. I think this could be a four-quarter game
- 20:20Speaker 4: because I think, you know, for Florida, they're playing with
- 20:22Speaker 4: house money. Nobody, I mean, the team is dead and
- 20:25Speaker 4: buried now. Now all of a sudden the fan base
- 20:27Speaker 4: went from left to right. The pendulum is like, now
- 20:30Speaker 4: we suck again. No, I just, and I've said this
- 20:33Speaker 4: to you and tell me I'm wrong. It was never...
- 20:37Speaker 4: a one-year fix just because it was Florida. It was
- 20:40Speaker 4: a major rebuild. But because they had returning talent, everybody thought, oh,
- 20:45Speaker 4: get the great coach in. We'll just all of a
- 20:48Speaker 4: sudden turn it around. It doesn't work like that. You
- 20:51Speaker 4: don't have Trinidad Chambliss at quarterback. Jaden Baugh, I'm sorry,
- 20:55Speaker 4: he's not Emmitt Smith. He's not Bo Jackson. He's not
- 20:58Speaker 4: Herschel Walker. He's not Garrison Hurst. I'm sorry. He's not.
- 21:02Speaker 4: He's a good running back. But we were making him
- 21:04Speaker 4: out like he was the best running back ever in
- 21:06Speaker 4: the SEC. I mean, come on.
- 21:09Speaker 2: No, you're right.
- 21:10Speaker 1: A couple more minutes here left with Joseph Lindsay. Let's
- 21:12Speaker 1: wrap it up with this and kind of look nationally
- 21:14Speaker 1: just with the teams they're playing. Georgia's taking on Auburn
- 21:16Speaker 1: this weekend. Miami is taking on Florida State.
- 21:19Speaker 2: Notre Dame is taking on BYU.
- 21:21Speaker 4: Yep.
- 21:21Speaker 2: Who is the best team in college football right now?
- 21:23Speaker 4: I said Georgia. I'm not backing down. I honestly believe,
- 21:28Speaker 4: and I love Kirby, the physicality, the way they ran
- 21:32Speaker 4: it right down Alabama's throat. Granted, questionable. a PI call,
- 21:35Speaker 4: that's all well and good. But for 15 years, SEC
- 21:38Speaker 4: fans had to deal with Nick Saban's calls every time
- 21:41Speaker 4: he cried to the refs, right? Every time you were
- 21:44Speaker 4: in Tuscaloosa and Brian Denny, you were never getting the
- 21:47Speaker 4: benefit of the doubt, no matter what. It was a
- 21:49Speaker 4: bad call. I'm not saying that. But Alabama's elite defense
- 21:53Speaker 4: got absolutely smashed in the mouth for 5.2 yards per
- 21:57Speaker 4: rush and 206 on the ground with backup running backs.
- 22:00Speaker 4: Chauncey Bowens and Nate Frazier were out. And the tight
- 22:04Speaker 4: ends killed them. Lawson Lucky and the other kid, 23,
- 22:09Speaker 4: absolutely abused them. So, look, I think Georgia's the most
- 22:14Speaker 4: complete team in the country. Stats-wise, they've beaten Auburn nine straight.
- 22:19Speaker 4: The last four by 16.5 points per game. The last
- 22:23Speaker 4: Auburn win. The last Auburn win in Sanford Stadium. 2005, Jake.
- 22:31Speaker 4: What was that? The Cadillac Williams and Ronnie Brown team, no?
- 22:36Speaker 4: 2005 with Jason Campbell?
- 22:38Speaker 2: Yep, I think you're right on top of it.
- 22:40Speaker 4: Yeah. I mean, think about 20 years. They have not
- 22:44Speaker 4: beat Georgia in Sanford Stadium. They've lost nine. Now, there
- 22:48Speaker 4: were a couple of close ones. Remember the Brock Bowers
- 22:51Speaker 4: game where he broke out for 147 three years ago?
- 22:55Speaker 4: Remember they were on life support in that game with
- 22:59Speaker 4: Stetson Bennett hitting him? But yeah, I mean, so look,
- 23:03Speaker 4: I think I'll say this. People don't. And I've heard this.
- 23:07Speaker 4: Notre Dame. I know they're beating down BYU. I know
- 23:11Speaker 4: they got nobody. I know LJ Morton's, you know, out.
- 23:16Speaker 4: That Pro Bowl place is going to be rocking Saturday night.
- 23:20Speaker 4: Crazy things happen. It's almost like the old carrier dome
- 23:24Speaker 4: back in the day when Donovan McNabb. Crazy things happen
- 23:28Speaker 4: in Provo. I'm just saying, when you turn on the
- 23:32Speaker 4: TV at around 1130 Eastern Time and it's 24 up,
- 23:37Speaker 4: I'm just saying, something tells me, be careful.
- 23:41Speaker 2: It's going to be a fun weekend. Joseph, tell everybody
- 23:43Speaker 2: where you're going to be. I know you guys are
- 23:44Speaker 2: all over it the rest of the week.
- 23:46Speaker 4: Yeah, so Coach Fountain and I do the show Tuesday
- 23:49Speaker 4: nights and Friday nights on FanStream Sports, 7 p.m. You
- 23:54Speaker 4: can catch it. You can go to my ex. We're
- 23:56Speaker 4: up on there all the time. And then Wednesdays, I'm
- 23:59Speaker 4: on Crossing Lines. And then Saturday morning, Jake, I do.
- 24:03Speaker 4: And I hope you tune in if you get a chance.
- 24:06Speaker 4: I know you cover a lot. But I know you're
- 24:07Speaker 4: an analytical guy. I do the show with an algo
- 24:11Speaker 4: company called Three Check Bets. And they pick these games.
- 24:15Speaker 4: which I love because I cover the top 25 games.
- 24:18Speaker 4: They cover these under-the-radar games, and it brings a unique
- 24:22Speaker 4: analytical sense, and we meld it together, and we talk
- 24:26Speaker 4: college ball. Fastest hour and a half in college football.
- 24:30Speaker 2: Joseph, always appreciate your time, brother. Thank you so much.
- 24:32Speaker 2: We'll do it again next week.
- 24:33Speaker 4: Anytime, Jake. Love the show, brother.
- 24:35Speaker 2: Thanks so much. Joseph Lissy, go for the two on X.
- 24:38Speaker 2: You can find him there.
- 24:39Speaker 1: And let's bring in our good friend Rob Brown. Rob,
- 24:42Speaker 1: sorry to make you wait an extra couple minutes there.
- 24:45Speaker 1: Thank you for joining us tonight.
- 24:46Speaker 3: Yeah. Hey, I was loving listening to Joseph. And that
- 24:50Speaker 3: 2005 team was the last Auburn team to win in Athens,
- 24:54Speaker 3: and that was actually Brandon Cox was the quarterback out
- 24:57Speaker 3: of Hewitt Trustful, completed that 61-yard pass that Devin Aroma
- 25:00Speaker 3: should do. out of Miami lakes and, uh, John Vaughn
- 25:04Speaker 3: out of Brentwood Academy kicked the field goal for Auburn
- 25:06Speaker 3: the year before Cadillac and Ronnie Brown and Carlos Rogers,
- 25:11Speaker 3: Jason Campbell went undefeated. And now they're recognizing that national championship, but,
- 25:17Speaker 3: but think about this from 83 to Oh five, Auburn
- 25:20Speaker 3: was 10 and two in games in Athens. Mark Rick
- 25:24Speaker 3: killed the Auburn Georgia rivalry, uh, along with just some
- 25:27Speaker 3: bad hires from Auburn. But I'd, I mean, maybe Auburn
- 25:32Speaker 3: can cover, but they're not even in the same, you know,
- 25:37Speaker 3: galaxy with Georgia now.
- 25:39Speaker 1: Let me ask you this, staying with Auburn real quick.
- 25:43Speaker 1: Alex Golish, is he on schedule? What's the pulse of
- 25:46Speaker 1: the fan base? I mean, I know it's early. Byron
- 25:48Speaker 1: Brown I thought would be a little better, a little
- 25:50Speaker 1: more on track than what he is right now.
- 25:54Speaker 2: How would you grade him, like kind of where they
- 25:55Speaker 2: are right now?
- 25:57Speaker 3: Give Byron Brown a D minus and Alex Golish a
- 26:00Speaker 3: D plus simply because he's trying to bring discipline and
- 26:06Speaker 3: toughness back to Auburn. Auburn's forgotten how to win. This
- 26:09Speaker 3: is the worst cycle of Auburn football since post-World War II.
- 26:13Speaker 3: And Auburn, not unlike most every college in America, had
- 26:17Speaker 3: so many men that had gone off to fight in
- 26:19Speaker 3: the Second World War. But this is, you're looking at
- 26:23Speaker 3: worse than that. You're looking at a potential sixth straight
- 26:27Speaker 3: losing season. I know LSU did it 89-94 at the
- 26:31Speaker 3: end of the Arnsbarger and Mike Archer and then the
- 26:34Speaker 3: Curly Hallman years. Boy, remember the three-two just– Oh, yeah.
- 26:38Speaker 3: That was rough, 89-94. We'll never forget the interception game.
- 26:44Speaker 4: Wow.
- 26:45Speaker 3: You know, Jamie Howard out of Lafayette stopped throwing the ball. But, yeah,
- 26:50Speaker 3: the fan base is just– and just split and saying
- 26:56Speaker 3: it's too early to go after him. But when you've
- 26:58Speaker 3: had Brian Harsin, the worst coach in Auburn history, followed
- 27:01Speaker 3: by Hugh Freeze, the worst coach in Auburn history, he
- 27:05Speaker 3: did absolutely nothing in three years with tons of money,
- 27:08Speaker 3: top seven, eight recruiting classes. He left the groceries in
- 27:12Speaker 3: the trunk for a week in the July heat in Jackson, Mississippi.
- 27:16Speaker 3: They went bad. He couldn't develop. And now, like so
- 27:20Speaker 3: many other people in the Auburn Witness Protection Program, Gus Malzahn,
- 27:23Speaker 3: Gene Chizik, they all live out at Lake Martin. So
- 27:26Speaker 3: every time you go by in your boat that you
- 27:28Speaker 3: work your ass off to buy, you see them up
- 27:30Speaker 3: there making $ 15 million, $ 20 million not to coach. But
- 27:34Speaker 3: the Auburn fan base is sick of it. They're tired
- 27:37Speaker 3: of it. John Cohen is in the crosshairs. They're tired
- 27:40Speaker 3: of him. You've just had a bunch of idiots making decisions.
- 27:46Speaker 3: And Auburn's fan base shows up, 90,000 every game, 60,000
- 27:51Speaker 3: tailgating outside the stadium. And it's the, as Heath always
- 27:55Speaker 3: talks about, the old trombone sound on the Price is Right. Womp, womp, womp, womp.
- 28:01Speaker 3: It's just what it is.
- 28:03Speaker 2: Hopefully Auburn can pull it together.
- 28:04Speaker 4: I agree with you.
- 28:06Speaker 2: Another tiger of a different stripe, LSU. They got Mississippi
- 28:10Speaker 2: State this weekend.
- 28:11Speaker 1: Kamario Taylor listed is, you know, I can't remember exactly
- 28:14Speaker 1: what it came out of tonight, probable or doubtful, but
- 28:17Speaker 1: questionable I think was the actual wording.
- 28:20Speaker 2: Don't know if he's going to play. If he doesn't,
- 28:22Speaker 2: Billy Puckett will play. LSU, though, and State will be fine.
- 28:26Speaker 2: I mean, State, you know, they still can reach their goals.
- 28:29Speaker 1: They didn't pay Lane Kiffin all this money and give
- 28:31Speaker 1: him $ 40 million to go, though.
- 28:33Speaker 2: To the Citrus Bowl. Is he feeling the heat a
- 28:36Speaker 2: little bit?
- 28:37Speaker 3: Of course he is, and I think he's a little
- 28:39Speaker 3: bit uncomfortable because, you know, when he got there, he
- 28:41Speaker 3: had to go be the head Shriner in the Mardi
- 28:44Speaker 3: Gras parade or whatever. That's not what he likes doing.
- 28:47Speaker 3: When he was at Ole Miss, he didn't report to
- 28:50Speaker 3: the people. He did his own thing. Look, Lane Kiffin's
- 28:56Speaker 3: worst year is always his first year, no matter where
- 29:00Speaker 3: he goes. He's having to feel it out. He could
- 29:03Speaker 3: have stayed at Ole Miss and been king forever but
- 29:08Speaker 3: he chose to go to LSU, but he's the same
- 29:11Speaker 3: Lane Kiffin. He's going to win you a lot of games,
- 29:14Speaker 3: but there are going to be those games where you
- 29:16Speaker 3: shake your head just like Sark at Texas. So I
- 29:21Speaker 3: Mississippi state, if Camario Taylor's healthy with their explosive offense
- 29:26Speaker 3: and you look at Sam Levitt and the turnovers and
- 29:29Speaker 3: all like that, they're, they're in every game. Their defense
- 29:32Speaker 3: is maybe 25th. Uh, if, if, Camario Taylor, I would
- 29:36Speaker 3: take Mississippi State and the points in that one and anything.
- 29:40Speaker 3: is possible if you've got a healthy Camario because I
- 29:43Speaker 3: think he's one of the storylines that makes us absolutely
- 29:47Speaker 3: love college football because he loves Mississippi State. He loves
- 29:52Speaker 3: the people. He loves the family. I can't get enough
- 29:55Speaker 3: of Camario Taylor. I love the kids.
- 29:57Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I echo every single bit of that. And
- 29:59Speaker 1: hopefully he's back this weekend, if not in the next
- 30:01Speaker 1: couple of weeks. All right, Joseph Lissy was very critical,
- 30:05Speaker 1: and rightfully so, of Arch Manning.
- 30:07Speaker 2: Where are you on Arch Manning? Because they've got Florida
- 30:10Speaker 2: coming in.
- 30:10Speaker 1: Both teams trying to get off the mat this weekend
- 30:13Speaker 1: out in Austin.
- 30:14Speaker 2: And which team gets off the mat?
- 30:16Speaker 3: Well, you think about it. And Kurt Bowles, legendary sports
- 30:22Speaker 3: writer for the Austin American-Statesman 51 years, three years ago,
- 30:26Speaker 3: he moved to the Houston Chronicle. This came out today,
- 30:29Speaker 3: a message for Steve Sarkeesian from Kurt Bowles. You got problems, big, major,
- 30:36Speaker 3: probably unfixable problems. Of course, they've been obvious since the
- 30:40Speaker 3: first kickoff of this season. He goes on to say,
- 30:42Speaker 3: this is totally unacceptable. No offensive identity, none. Too many
- 30:47Speaker 3: penalties week in, week out. It's a mess. Regression by
- 30:51Speaker 3: Arch Manning, the two worst interceptions of his career. He
- 30:54Speaker 3: looks rattled. Red zone issues, on and on. I've said
- 30:58Speaker 3: the whole time for the last few years, if a
- 31:01Speaker 3: dog will bite, he'll do it when he's a pup.
- 31:03Speaker 3: Arch is in his fourth year at Texas. Think about
- 31:08Speaker 3: the clown show out there, Sark, and the boosters that
- 31:11Speaker 3: are going, we're paying him $ 8 million a year, whatever NIL.
- 31:14Speaker 3: He's getting a lot of NIL. It gets down to
- 31:17Speaker 3: some things that my coaches, Coach Cordelli, Dave Bartu, CFB Matrix,
- 31:21Speaker 3: Ellis Johnson, we talked about it Monday. Has he ever
- 31:24Speaker 3: had to fight? Has he faced adversity in his life?
- 31:27Speaker 3: I love the Mannings. I grew up in Memphis, man.
- 31:30Speaker 3: Archie Manning and Pat Sullivan, they hung the moon and
- 31:34Speaker 3: still do. But, you know, the first generation employees, Archie
- 31:39Speaker 3: Manning is just, my wife's like, that's the greatest football
- 31:41Speaker 3: player ever, and she's a ball for life. Then you've
- 31:44Speaker 3: got Cooper, Peyton, and Eli. They enjoyed. They had a great.
- 31:49Speaker 3: The third destroys. That's a business term, but it is
- 31:53Speaker 3: so hard, and this guy is getting a lot of money. Jake,
- 31:58Speaker 3: when you were 18 or 19, you were like most
- 32:00Speaker 3: college students probably. You're just hoping you have enough money
- 32:04Speaker 3: to pay your parking fines you got for parking in
- 32:06Speaker 3: the wrong place on campus. Not to mention, you weren't
- 32:10Speaker 3: looking at your mobile banking app. You were just hoping
- 32:12Speaker 3: when that– you didn't have caller ID. It wasn't your bookie.
- 32:15Speaker 3: It wasn't the cops. It wasn't the bank going, you're
- 32:18Speaker 3: overdrawn again, Mr.
- 32:19Speaker 4: Wimberly.
- 32:20Speaker 3: And so I think he's– if he comes back for
- 32:24Speaker 3: a fifth year, you know, Texas is going to have
- 32:27Speaker 3: to pay a huge premium to sit some five-star on
- 32:31Speaker 3: the bench and Or does he go somewhere else? But
- 32:33Speaker 3: he's got to come back for a fifth year because
- 32:36Speaker 3: right now, where would he be drafted? His name alone,
- 32:39Speaker 3: the NFL doesn't play that game. They're not going to
- 32:42Speaker 3: draft him based on name only. I love everything about
- 32:45Speaker 3: the Mannings, but this one has been– he's 16-4 as
- 32:50Speaker 3: a starter. That's wonderful. But against elite competition, even in
- 32:54Speaker 3: the win over Ohio State, what did he really do
- 32:57Speaker 3: that made you go, wow, he's better than his uncles
- 33:00Speaker 3: and his grandfathers?
- 33:02Speaker 4: Nothing.
- 33:03Speaker 2: No, you're right. You're absolutely right.
- 33:05Speaker 1: And I'm pulling up, and we'll come back to it,
- 33:06Speaker 1: where he would project based on the projections in the
- 33:08Speaker 1: NFL draft.
- 33:09Speaker 2: And I'm with you.
- 33:10Speaker 1: That's what puts Texas in a big quagmire. You said
- 33:13Speaker 1: it perfectly. They're going to have to pay a lot
- 33:15Speaker 1: of money to sit a five-star on the bench. And
- 33:18Speaker 1: I don't know that they necessarily want to do that.
- 33:21Speaker 1: You don't have quarterback problems at Ole Miss, and you
- 33:23Speaker 1: don't have quarterback problems at Missouri.
- 33:25Speaker 2: They play this weekend.
- 33:27Speaker 1: A lot of ties here with Austin Simmons coming back
- 33:29Speaker 1: to Ole Miss. Both secondaries have issues and have given
- 33:33Speaker 1: up some big plays. Could we see a shootout in Oxford?
- 33:36Speaker 3: I bet you do. Something like 45-39. I wouldn't be
- 33:39Speaker 3: surprised because Austin Simmons is not making turnovers. Again, he's
- 33:46Speaker 3: one of the best stories in college football. Stayed at
- 33:48Speaker 3: Ole Miss three years. Graduated. He's a prodigy. Didn't complain.
- 33:52Speaker 3: Goes to Missouri, and then Caden Lee goes up there
- 33:55Speaker 3: with him because they're like this, two peas in a pod,
- 33:57Speaker 3: as Uncle Jed or Leif Crick said. I think that's
- 34:02Speaker 3: going to be a tough one. The secondaries, it's just
- 34:06Speaker 3: who can physically withstand the air raid that's going to
- 34:09Speaker 3: be coming their way. I love Trinidad Chambliss. Again, he
- 34:13Speaker 3: was smart. He would have maybe been a fourth or
- 34:15Speaker 3: fifth round draft pick last year. That's good money. A
- 34:18Speaker 3: million two, maybe. He comes to Ole Miss again this year.
- 34:22Speaker 3: And supposedly is getting $ 5 million. I say supposedly because
- 34:27Speaker 3: I don't spend other people's money, but he's getting a
- 34:31Speaker 3: lot of money. And I think that Ole Miss, if
- 34:35Speaker 3: Ke'wan Lacy is healthy, but then you got Jamal Roberts
- 34:39Speaker 3: over there from Missouri. He was like the Viking battering
- 34:42Speaker 3: ram coming in. Yancey Porter said it on the show yesterday.
- 34:48Speaker 3: I think this is the best matchup, including Tennessee-Alabama, in
- 34:52Speaker 3: the SEC this weekend, it should be getting a lot
- 34:56Speaker 3: more national attention.
- 34:58Speaker 2: No, I agree with you.
- 34:58Speaker 1: Speaking of Alabama and Tennessee, Tennessee, you know, they've got
- 35:03Speaker 1: quarterback issues. They always say if you've got two, you've
- 35:05Speaker 1: got none. Alabama doesn't have quarterback issues. Can Tennessee take
- 35:09Speaker 1: this into the fourth quarter?
- 35:11Speaker 3: Think about it. I had Georgia never doubted that they
- 35:14Speaker 3: would beat Alabama. I was like, they will dominate the
- 35:17Speaker 3: line of scrimmage. Alabama gave up 206 yards rushing. to Georgia,
- 35:23Speaker 3: and that's with their first and second team running backs
- 35:26Speaker 3: out injured. You got to love a kid, Nate Frazier.
- 35:29Speaker 3: I'm sorry he was hurt, but he was in tears
- 35:31Speaker 3: that he could not get out there and wear that
- 35:33Speaker 3: Georgia jersey. There are so many stories like this. You
- 35:37Speaker 3: better be paying attention to them because these are the
- 35:40Speaker 3: people that are going to save college football, okay? Guys
- 35:43Speaker 3: that are in tears that they can't play. Say what
- 35:46Speaker 3: you want about Tebow back in 09 in that Alabama
- 35:49Speaker 3: game in the SEC championship. The kid loved the laundry. Man,
- 35:55Speaker 3: Alabama's going to win this game. My wife just walked
- 35:58Speaker 3: through the room. She's evolved for life.
- 36:00Speaker 2: You're on the couch tonight.
- 36:01Speaker 3: It's just what it is. I'll be sleeping on the
- 36:03Speaker 3: porch tonight, but I love her.
- 36:06Speaker 2: Absolutely. A couple more here, and we'll get you on
- 36:07Speaker 2: your way. Kentucky, man, they are fun to watch. Watching
- 36:12Speaker 2: them beat LSU the way they did last week. Will Stein,
- 36:16Speaker 2: if you wonder what's going on at Oregon– You know,
- 36:18Speaker 2: obviously they got some quarterback issues and some injuries, but
- 36:20Speaker 2: Will Stein is gone. And that's, that's tough. I mean, you,
- 36:23Speaker 2: you know, this you've, you've covered all the time to
- 36:27Speaker 2: replace coordinators. That's what's happened.
- 36:28Speaker 1: And I think to Dan Lanning, but Will Stein has
- 36:31Speaker 1: done a great job at Kentucky. They go to Oklahoma
- 36:33Speaker 1: this weekend. If they win this weekend, I think we have.
- 36:36Speaker 2: To start looking at Kentucky as a possible playoff contender.
- 36:40Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 36:40Speaker 2: And, and I never thought I'd say that by the way.
- 36:43Speaker 3: And pigs can fly.
- 36:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 36:47Speaker 3: It's, Look, we had Travis Davidson on, covers Oklahoma for us. Okay,
- 36:55Speaker 3: next man up doesn't work. Buddy hires, you and your
- 36:58Speaker 3: buddies are going to get fired together. But Will Stein
- 37:02Speaker 3: was having a tremendous impact. But Pete Cordelli, who knows
- 37:05Speaker 3: Notre Dame really well on our Monday show, said all summer,
- 37:08Speaker 3: he said, Kenny Menchie was so close to being that
- 37:11Speaker 3: starting quarterback at Notre Dame. And he's from St. John
- 37:14Speaker 3: Paul II High School in Hendersonville, Tennessee. He came home. Oklahoma,
- 37:20Speaker 3: why would they have a letdown after beating the number
- 37:23Speaker 3: one team in the country? They ought to be sky high.
- 37:27Speaker 3: You know, you go deep sea fishing, you're catching snapper
- 37:30Speaker 3: and you're catching grouper, cobia, wahoo, triggerfish, I don't care.
- 37:34Speaker 3: You don't catch one and then go take a nap.
- 37:36Speaker 3: Your deckhand's already got you lined up with bait and
- 37:39Speaker 3: everything like that and a cigarette in his mouth and
- 37:41Speaker 3: he's able to do it all at once. Oklahoma wins
- 37:44Speaker 3: this game. Brent Venable's is going to solve the mystery
- 37:49Speaker 3: code that is Kentucky football. But I can't think of
- 37:53Speaker 3: two worse promotions in college football than the next man up,
- 37:58Speaker 3: the tight end coach, never called plays at Oregon. He's
- 38:01Speaker 3: now the OC. Look what they're getting. And then Holman
- 38:04Speaker 3: Wiggins at Texas A & M. I mean, again, why
- 38:09Speaker 3: do you do that? It's not working. But man, Kentucky
- 38:15Speaker 3: is one of the best stories as a team in
- 38:18Speaker 3: the country right now as well. But I don't think
- 38:20Speaker 3: they went on the road at Oklahoma. I've got Oklahoma
- 38:22Speaker 3: to cover.
- 38:23Speaker 2: Lastly, did Shane Beamer get off the hot seat last week?
- 38:27Speaker 3: Yeah, for two reasons. Number one, they went on the
- 38:29Speaker 3: road and won big. And Dylan Stewart is a– he
- 38:33Speaker 3: is just Buford Pusser of college football, man, from walking tall,
- 38:37Speaker 3: the original one, by the way, with Don Bosa-Vinson. Yeah,
- 38:42Speaker 3: I think he is. They can't afford to fire him.
- 38:45Speaker 3: Everybody loves Shane Beamer. You know, how can you not?
- 38:48Speaker 3: But the other thing is, Lenore Sellers, that's now the
- 38:51Speaker 3: fifth game of his career that's been really good out
- 38:54Speaker 3: of all of them. You know, Will Gunner talks about
- 38:58Speaker 3: his whole career has been defined by four games. But
- 39:01Speaker 3: when he's good, he's really, really good. I had South
- 39:04Speaker 3: Carolina to cover last week, and I said, if you
- 39:06Speaker 3: think they're going to go down there and just, you know,
- 39:10Speaker 3: and just not even fight, you're crazy. Shane will get
- 39:13Speaker 3: those guys to play. And Florida is– Aaron Philo, there
- 39:18Speaker 3: are questions now, is Philo done? Well, you get a
- 39:22Speaker 3: four or five game hall pass when you're a new
- 39:24Speaker 3: coach and people start circulating tape on you, they're going
- 39:27Speaker 3: to figure you out. Florida has already been figured out,
- 39:30Speaker 3: but I bet they cover it Texas this weekend because
- 39:33Speaker 3: Texas is not anything great. And Sark can get as
- 39:36Speaker 3: mad as he wants to, but it's the same thing
- 39:38Speaker 3: every year. He's going to underwhelm two or three times.
- 39:42Speaker 3: I think Texas wins, but I think Florida can cover.
- 39:44Speaker 3: And Jaden Ball, like Joseph said, they're putting him up there.
- 39:50Speaker 3: picking out his Heisman suit, uh-uh. I'm sticking to Florida
- 39:53Speaker 3: with eight wins is my prediction preseason. The way they're
- 39:57Speaker 3: playing right now, boy, they got Ricky Ricardo's right. You
- 40:01Speaker 3: got a lot of explaining to do.
- 40:03Speaker 2: No, there's no doubt.
- 40:04Speaker 1: Rob, tell everybody where they can find your show. It's
- 40:06Speaker 1: such a great show. You guys do such a great job.
