- Lucas: Welcome back to Learn French with Fexingo! I'm Lucas, and as always I'm here with Luna. Luna: Hey Lucas! I'm ready to learn some new French today. Lucas: Great, Luna! Today we're going to learn some useful words for the kitchen. You know, things you use every day. Luna: Oh, I love cooking! So what's the first word? Lucas: Let's start with la cuillère. That means spoon. Luna: La cuillère. La cuillère. That's spoon, right? Lucas: Exactly. La cuillère. Let me say it again slowly: la cuillère. Luna: La cuillère. Lucas: Perfect! Now, next up is le couteau. That means knife. Luna: Le couteau. That sounds a bit different. Le couteau. Lucas: You got it. Le couteau. Good job. Now let's have la fourchette, which is fork. Luna: La fourchette. La fourchette. That's fun to say. Lucas: It is! La fourchette. Now, what do we put our food on? That's l'assiette, the plate. Luna: L'assiette. L'assiette. So l'assiette is plate. Lucas: Yes. And finally, what do we drink from? Le verre, the glass. Luna: Le verre. Le verre. Five new words! Can we practice them in a sentence? Lucas: Of course. How about: Je voudrais une cuillère, s'il vous plaît. I would like a spoon, please. Luna: Je voudrais une cuillère, s'il vous plaît. That uses our word la cuillère. Lucas: Exactly. Or: Je voudrais un couteau. I would like a knife. Luna: Je voudrais un couteau. And for fork: Je voudrais une fourchette. Lucas: Yes! And for plate: Je voudrais une assiette. Luna: Je voudrais une assiette. And for glass: Je voudrais un verre. Lucas: Perfect. Now let's do a quick review. Repeat after me: la cuillère, le couteau, la fourchette, l'assiette, le verre. Luna: La cuillère, le couteau, la fourchette, l'assiette, le verre. Lucas: Excellent! You really nailed it, Luna. Luna: Thanks! I think I'll remember these because I use them all the time.
