- 0:03Speaker 1: It's a podcasts stocking fun and they went on whist So, yeah, fun.
- 0:12Speaker 1: Why didn't you expect it's a podcast whistles? Everybody, welcome back,
- 0:20Speaker 1: appreciate that this is twenty five whistles presented by the
- 0:23Speaker 1: Draft King Sports Book, an official sports betting partner of
- 0:26Speaker 1: the NFL. Download The Draft Kings app used the code
- 0:28Speaker 1: of Bobby Sports to get in on the action. Jordan
- 0:31Speaker 1: Davis is back with us. I haven't see him in
- 0:32Speaker 1: a few weeks. Where you been, buddy man, I've been
- 0:34Speaker 1: in your home state Arkansas doing what just chasing chasing
- 0:39Speaker 1: the elusive Mallard duck. You've been hunting for a couple
- 0:42Speaker 1: of days or what, uh a few days? I think
- 0:45Speaker 1: I've got like ten days in. We did like four
- 0:48Speaker 1: or five days of like some uh some content stuff
- 0:52Speaker 1: with this new Waiter company coach and I work with
- 0:54Speaker 1: a bunch of great sin like like a ship on
- 0:57Speaker 1: your body but spelled h E N E OHC. It's fancy.
- 1:06Speaker 1: So you've been you've been gone. So you did four
- 1:08Speaker 1: or five days of contest, just do a hunt in
- 1:09Speaker 1: that content most couple but a couple of days where
- 1:12Speaker 1: we were able to hunt, but most of it was
- 1:14Speaker 1: just kind of um showing off all the products they got,
- 1:18Speaker 1: which are great stuff. And so then you spent the
- 1:20Speaker 1: other days honey, how long you been gone? Oh gosh,
- 1:23Speaker 1: I got over there on the of Wait, isn't today
- 1:27Speaker 1: like last year of late last year? Yeah, that's right. Yeah,
- 1:32Speaker 1: still a couple of weeks. Yeah, we were, We did,
- 1:34Speaker 1: and we did New Year's over there, and then who's
- 1:37Speaker 1: we did your wife go? My wife came three days
- 1:39Speaker 1: at the hunting camp, which is like, that's that big?
- 1:43Speaker 1: Does she care that you're gone that long? Uh? I
- 1:49Speaker 1: mean I would. Yeah, you should ask her, does because
- 1:54Speaker 1: my wife would care that I was and we don't
- 1:56Speaker 1: have kids. Yeah, it was. She was pretty frustrated. We did.
- 2:00Speaker 1: We did two days where we met in Memphis. We
- 2:02Speaker 1: stayed at the Peabody. The kids saw the ducks. So
- 2:04Speaker 1: we tried to like try to ease it up as
- 2:07Speaker 1: much as possible. But yeah, I mean, I've been I
- 2:09Speaker 1: was away from my house for longer than I should
- 2:12Speaker 1: have been. Well with Eddie. You know, I'm supposed to
- 2:16Speaker 1: play in the Pebble Beach prom in a couple of weeks,
- 2:18Speaker 1: you know, which was a pretty cool invite to get
- 2:21Speaker 1: really like come out, play on the practice rounds all week. Uh.
- 2:24Speaker 1: In the tournaments four days you make the cut. It's
- 2:26Speaker 1: all four if you But it's on TV, like bring
- 2:28Speaker 1: your own caddy. And I called Eddie, said, Hey, do
- 2:30Speaker 1: you want to come be my caddy at Pebble Beach?
- 2:32Speaker 1: And I know that that's like six or seven days
- 2:36Speaker 1: and Eddie's got four kids. And I knew he wouldn't
- 2:40Speaker 1: get to say yes because it's six or seven days
- 2:42Speaker 1: and four kids. I knew that, but Eddie been my
- 2:44Speaker 1: best friend. I was like, you should come and do this,
- 2:46Speaker 1: but I know you probably can't, but if you can,
- 2:48Speaker 1: let's go. And so I keep waiting and I just
- 2:51Speaker 1: keep waiting for the now, and then I get a
- 2:52Speaker 1: text is it's still on the table. Well, I get
- 2:54Speaker 1: a text file going m hmm, it's not a no,
- 2:57Speaker 1: but she's gonna let me know making it would she
- 3:01Speaker 1: was thinking yeah, thinking it would never be a yes.
- 3:03Speaker 1: And then how did that finally end? And then I
- 3:06Speaker 1: didn't even ask for an update? And then she came in.
- 3:08Speaker 1: I was doing something in my office and she comes in.
- 3:10Speaker 1: She's like, Hey, so about Pebble Beach. I've got to
- 3:13Speaker 1: I've got I've got a plan. You can go just
- 3:17Speaker 1: you can be gone the week days. You cannot be
- 3:20Speaker 1: gone Saturday and Sunday because I need you on Saturdays
- 3:22Speaker 1: and Sundays, which well, hold on, but Saturday and Sunday
- 3:25Speaker 1: those are the final two days, right, What if I
- 3:27Speaker 1: make what cut? That's why I told I was like,
- 3:29Speaker 1: Boby is probably not going to make the cut. I
- 3:32Speaker 1: think we're good out of our group, though Bobby probably
- 3:34Speaker 1: would make. But what what if I do make the cut? Yeah?
- 3:39Speaker 1: She said, well, we'll risk We'll take that risk. So
- 3:42Speaker 1: if I do think she's fine, she's fine. She's betting
- 3:45Speaker 1: against me pretty much. What's the odds here? Can I
- 3:48Speaker 1: get into this section? Yeah? Exactly, so Eddie's Eddie gets
- 3:52Speaker 1: to come. That's awesome. Couldn't believe it, dude, That's gonna
- 3:54Speaker 1: be really fun. Yeah, I think so too. I've been
- 3:57Speaker 1: super excited. I'm very nervous. Have you ever played pebble beach? No,
- 3:59Speaker 1: and I'm never are played in a tournament like a
- 4:01Speaker 1: real one, and I'm then played on TV. Dude, they're
- 4:03Speaker 1: gonna have like the people like lining on your t show,
- 4:06Speaker 1: and there's gonna be people like all next to me
- 4:09Speaker 1: like standing around and I've been trying. I've been trying.
- 4:14Speaker 1: Bobby Bone Eddie said, what they're gonna say is go ahead,
- 4:17Speaker 1: do the announcer like you thought what he would do?
- 4:19Speaker 1: What did I say? Plus seventy three? This is day one,
- 4:25Speaker 1: whole six plus see have you done that? Jordan's like,
- 4:28Speaker 1: play ever done a prom? You' sef you never know?
- 4:33Speaker 1: They invite anyone? Wait, no, I'm saying, like out there,
- 4:41Speaker 1: don't they have like Bill Murray and he's always like
- 4:43Speaker 1: hit in between his legs, Like, I don't think they're
- 4:45Speaker 1: that serious. No, I'm saying golf talent, Like how you're
- 4:49Speaker 1: saying that invite anyone of skill as long as you've
- 4:51Speaker 1: never correct I don't think the pebble Beaches they do that.
- 4:54Speaker 1: They won't invite anybody. You have to like have a handicap.
- 4:57Speaker 1: That makes sense. I think if you're like an eight teen,
- 4:59Speaker 1: they kind of go nan. I do feel like that's
- 5:01Speaker 1: the bigger of the pro ams. Yeah, it's the biggest,
- 5:03Speaker 1: which is crazy. So alright, start um. Like Charles Barkley,
- 5:09Speaker 1: he's terrible. He's gotten a lot better though his game hasn't.
- 5:12Speaker 1: He's actually got that twitch. So but yes, I am
- 5:18Speaker 1: very nervous. We played a prom once and that he
- 5:20Speaker 1: was my caddy, but it wasn't on television. It was
- 5:22Speaker 1: the Colonial and we played with Speeth Jordan Spece. It
- 5:27Speaker 1: was a lot of fun and I was really nervous
- 5:29Speaker 1: at first, but then it wasn't TV. Nobody cared. There
- 5:31Speaker 1: was no one following us around. Yeah, this is like
- 5:33Speaker 1: two days. The first tw days are on Golf Channel
- 5:34Speaker 1: and the next days around like NBC or CBS or something. Dude,
- 5:39Speaker 1: you get you're taking I mean, so that's why you've
- 5:41Speaker 1: been in the simulator a little bit. I've played twice.
- 5:44Speaker 1: Ben Rector came over and we we hit because he's
- 5:46Speaker 1: playing it to He played it last year for the
- 5:48Speaker 1: first time, and so he came over and we hit
- 5:51Speaker 1: for a while. But I'm trying to do this thing
- 5:55Speaker 1: because I know I'm gonna get there and I'm gonna
- 5:56Speaker 1: be really nervous, right teeing off. I get nervous if
- 5:59Speaker 1: I have to play through with some buddy and they're
- 6:00Speaker 1: like watching me and I'm like, oh god, it's right,
- 6:02Speaker 1: and just two people. I get so nervous. But Rector
- 6:05Speaker 1: came over and I was explaining to him I said,
- 6:06Speaker 1: here's what I'm trying to do for my nerves. I
- 6:09Speaker 1: tried to get my heart rate up really fast. I
- 6:10Speaker 1: try to think of something me nervous, and then I
- 6:12Speaker 1: try to hit the ball or I'll go regardless of
- 6:15Speaker 1: what I do these three swings, I'm gonna send this
- 6:17Speaker 1: video to somebody I know will crush me for it.
- 6:19Speaker 1: So I put the I try to put the pressure
- 6:21Speaker 1: on me in different ways. It's not the same, but
- 6:23Speaker 1: I try to have it lay on me and still
- 6:26Speaker 1: try to perform. Dude, that's a really smart way to
- 6:28Speaker 1: cope with pressure. Spirit for him. I can't really do
- 6:31Speaker 1: real exposure, but it's the closest thing I can do
- 6:34Speaker 1: to exposure therapy. It's possible. Maybe before you take off,
- 6:38Speaker 1: we just go to the range and we just get
- 6:39Speaker 1: behind you and just heck, all you that wouldn't bother me?
- 6:42Speaker 1: What would if you had a paintball gun fire and
- 6:44Speaker 1: if you're not not not hitting me with it, but
- 6:46Speaker 1: you're like you're close enough, it's like aiming it in
- 6:48Speaker 1: my butt and you all right, take a shot. But
- 6:50Speaker 1: that's literal pressure. We can do that, or it could
- 6:54Speaker 1: be anything like that, And as your caddy, I approve
- 6:57Speaker 1: that one. That's good. So he's gonna Caddy. But we're here.
- 7:00Speaker 1: Jordan's here obviously, Adam and kick off Kevin and Nettie.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Let's warm up real quick quick, you know, because the
- 7:07Speaker 1: juice flow. And even though I feel like we're kind
- 7:08Speaker 1: of warm at this, what's the chore around the house
- 7:11Speaker 1: you hate doing the most easy? Go ahead, that's easy man,
- 7:14Speaker 1: folding laundry. We have a thing in our house called
- 7:16Speaker 1: mountain cotton, and that's because we hate folding laundry and
- 7:20Speaker 1: it ends up being in one of our closets and dude,
- 7:22Speaker 1: it's high. It probably goes up to my nipples, and
- 7:25Speaker 1: it's it's tough too when you have to find like
- 7:27Speaker 1: certain like where is my blue shirt? It's in mountain
- 7:30Speaker 1: cotton somewhere, take its own mountain. Is it ever fully gone? Yeah?
- 7:36Speaker 1: We we probably purge mount or destroy mountain cotton. Every
- 7:39Speaker 1: two months it goes back to zero. To get back
- 7:42Speaker 1: to zero, you don't like stay up on it and like, okay,
- 7:44Speaker 1: we don't want it to be mounting again. So we're
- 7:45Speaker 1: gonna really stay active and keeping Once we put all
- 7:49Speaker 1: the clothes away and it's gone, we're like, all right,
- 7:50Speaker 1: We're never doing this again, and then just slowly like, Okay,
- 7:54Speaker 1: we gotta load. We got five loads to do. Throw
- 7:56Speaker 1: the mountain cotton. Kevin definitely doing the dishes. I mean,
- 8:00Speaker 1: I love to cook, but I am so stingy when
- 8:02Speaker 1: it comes to using like multiple bowls or plates, whatever
- 8:04Speaker 1: it is. I like, I'll rent it off real quick,
- 8:06Speaker 1: we use another one saying you're a single guy. I
- 8:08Speaker 1: used to do that too, but also like four forks, Yeah,
- 8:10Speaker 1: that's what I have to like by the end of
- 8:12Speaker 1: the week. I'm like, thing, I gotta I gotta wash
- 8:14Speaker 1: them now. And I could afford more than four forks,
- 8:16Speaker 1: maybe six total, but I kept four because I knew
- 8:19Speaker 1: I don't want to wash more than four. So if
- 8:21Speaker 1: I only had four, it's like, it's that mean, why
- 8:23Speaker 1: the guy's pointing in his head, Well, if I only
- 8:25Speaker 1: have four fourks, I can't What about you, Adam, any
- 8:30Speaker 1: sort of deep cleaning, like having to go to the
- 8:33Speaker 1: bathroom and scrub something that's just gross and I despise it. Yeah,
- 8:36Speaker 1: the scrubbing. The bathroom scrubbing sucks because you never know
- 8:39Speaker 1: what's going to be on the bottom of that thing
- 8:40Speaker 1: you pick up. What Yeah, yeah, Jordan's unloading the dishwasher.
- 8:46Speaker 1: Don't mind loading it, don't even really mind washing dishes
- 8:49Speaker 1: in the sink, but when it comes to putting clean
- 8:52Speaker 1: dishes back in cabinets, hate it me too, And that
- 8:54Speaker 1: was gonna be mine. I'll tell you what I do.
- 8:57Speaker 1: And this is how childish I am. If I go
- 8:58Speaker 1: in the dishwasher and it's all all the dishes are done,
- 9:01Speaker 1: and I'm like, God, I don't want to load them.
- 9:02Speaker 1: I'll just start it again and and let it run again,
- 9:05Speaker 1: like uh started the dishes, they were already clear, So
- 9:08Speaker 1: hopefully I don't have to go do it. So then
- 9:11Speaker 1: she's in there the next time when they christ and
- 9:13Speaker 1: doesn't listen to this one catch on, or or you
- 9:17Speaker 1: just find one dirty one and you put it in
- 9:20Speaker 1: there and you're like, oh crap, I don't know. I
- 9:22Speaker 1: thought you had loaded the dishwher. So that's cheap. Don't
- 9:26Speaker 1: do that, but it works for me most of the time.
- 9:28Speaker 1: I'm probably gonna do that. All right, we're warmed up.
- 9:31Speaker 1: Let's tittle tattlet. After winning back to back titles, do
- 9:42Speaker 1: you think Georgia quarterbacks that's in Bennett has entered into
- 9:45Speaker 1: the greatest football player in Georgia history. Boy, greatest is such.
- 9:49Speaker 1: I know, I think one of the greatest stories, the
- 9:53Speaker 1: greatest player. No herschel Walker come on, but the greatest
- 9:57Speaker 1: greatest story. Yes, walk On left because they didn't like him,
- 10:01Speaker 1: say it wasn't good enough, came back still didn't start.
- 10:03Speaker 1: All these things happen with him winning two national championships.
- 10:07Speaker 1: That's a that's a really great story. It's the greatest
- 10:09Speaker 1: story in Georgia history. Greatest player. We could rattle off
- 10:13Speaker 1: a few that are probably better as far as players. No,
- 10:17Speaker 1: Sean Marino, Uh, absolutely probably the guy though right, Yes,
- 10:25Speaker 1: I'm not takeing anyway from sets, but I think you
- 10:26Speaker 1: have the most out of what of what he was given.
- 10:29Speaker 1: And I think he'll get a look in the NFL.
- 10:31Speaker 1: I mean, he could be a fit or sixth round
- 10:34Speaker 1: pick and stick somewhere. A good organization could bring him in.
- 10:37Speaker 1: Not a bad organization that he'll have to either play
- 10:40Speaker 1: earlier get cut, but a good organization gets set a couple.
- 10:43Speaker 1: You know, he has a pretty good arm, he can run,
- 10:45Speaker 1: he can run. He really is surprisingly like really athletic athletic.
- 10:50Speaker 1: I mean you see that he's white and you're like
- 10:53Speaker 1: and he's like lunkey and like dorky. Yeah, he's kind
- 10:56Speaker 1: of good looking, but he's still dorky. He's still good looking,
- 10:59Speaker 1: but he's still like and you don't think I'm sure
- 11:03Speaker 1: he's doing just fine and the greatest player. No, no,
- 11:09Speaker 1: but greatest story. Yeah, probably like it, okay, going to
- 11:13Speaker 1: that game. Still, do you think TCU fans would have
- 11:15Speaker 1: rather had their game or had their team not playing
- 11:17Speaker 1: the game at all and have them playing that and
- 11:19Speaker 1: get whooped that bad? Yes, like, no, don't be there,
- 11:23Speaker 1: no show. Here's my memory of no, no, here's my
- 11:26Speaker 1: memory of of TCU getting embarrassed after everything that happened
- 11:30Speaker 1: this season, all the store, everything that was such a
- 11:33Speaker 1: that's such a loudy scream. It's so loud it's almost
- 11:36Speaker 1: you can't hear nothing else that was. And also it's
- 11:38Speaker 1: bad for everybody. It's bad for teams that aren't SEC teams.
- 11:41Speaker 1: It's bad for teams that are not Power five. Even
- 11:43Speaker 1: though TCU is they were a school that comes from
- 11:46Speaker 1: Power five, but it was like not a not a
- 11:48Speaker 1: real traditional Power five winner, So it does it's just bad.
- 11:56Speaker 1: It's bad for a lot of people. It was embarrassing
- 11:58Speaker 1: for them. I think a close loss for that program
- 12:01Speaker 1: would have been better than this humiliating loss in the championship,
- 12:05Speaker 1: And for everybody that's an SEC hater, that would have
- 12:07Speaker 1: been better too, because people like myself and Jordan's are
- 12:09Speaker 1: just like, yep, like how big our balls are? Now?
- 12:12Speaker 1: We told you would? Do you agree? I mean, like
- 12:14Speaker 1: within what that game lasted seven minutes maybe and the
- 12:18Speaker 1: only time was that one touchdown whe the guy fell
- 12:20Speaker 1: down where I was like, maybe this is a game,
- 12:21Speaker 1: like maybe they can get it within twenty one. But
- 12:24Speaker 1: I think even to watching that first drive, the team
- 12:28Speaker 1: in red was bigger, faster, and stronger than the team
- 12:31Speaker 1: in white, Like it was just a that was two
- 12:34Speaker 1: teams that should have never been playing for the national championship.
- 12:37Speaker 1: How long did you watch? What time did you turn
- 12:38Speaker 1: the game off? So this is crazy. I watched the
- 12:41Speaker 1: scrolling on my phone, but I I put myself through
- 12:44Speaker 1: all four quarters? Uh? But I mean after when Georgia
- 12:49Speaker 1: scored that, when they answered that TC touchdown that fast,
- 12:52Speaker 1: I was like, this is the third like one them
- 12:55Speaker 1: to TC that third? Yeah? It was it was efficient,
- 12:58Speaker 1: it was easy, super easy. And then I mean did
- 13:01Speaker 1: Georgia just bullied him for the rest of the game.
- 13:04Speaker 1: That really set the I think that crushed the Big twelve.
- 13:07Speaker 1: That hurt the Big twelve really really bad. And the
- 13:09Speaker 1: Big twelves losing their two biggest schools as well. So
- 13:11Speaker 1: with Texas and Oklahoma leaving, not next year, but most
- 13:13Speaker 1: likely that you're to the SEC. I think that's a
- 13:17Speaker 1: great point is that the two schools that you think
- 13:20Speaker 1: probably wouldn't have been bullied. And listen, Texas hasn't been
- 13:23Speaker 1: a long time, but they still have a reputation of
- 13:24Speaker 1: being a big school that does big things. You got
- 13:26Speaker 1: a lot of money. Um that that those two big
- 13:30Speaker 1: schools are leaving, it feels even worse. I mean, have
- 13:32Speaker 1: Cincinnati coming in, you have you Seef coming in. It's
- 13:35Speaker 1: not like they're going to that's not that's not like
- 13:38Speaker 1: a really sexy look to say, oh, well we re
- 13:41Speaker 1: oh we're gonna replace them with. I couldn't even tell
- 13:44Speaker 1: you their mascuts right now. Let's say it now, power four.
- 13:46Speaker 1: I just said it. Get down four after you get
- 13:49Speaker 1: beat by that bad that's come on, man. They cost
- 13:52Speaker 1: the whole Conference of Classification champions. That's who you sit well,
- 13:59Speaker 1: and they also got beat by Kansas State for the
- 14:02Speaker 1: conference and then Alabama whooped Kansas. Ye listen, I I'm
- 14:10Speaker 1: gonna say this, and we're gonna do a thing about
- 14:12Speaker 1: us being wrong earlier but later. But I thought albums
- 14:15Speaker 1: should have been in just because I thought, but they
- 14:19Speaker 1: still made the right decision they did put the team.
- 14:21Speaker 1: I thought TCU should have been in there, so but
- 14:24Speaker 1: I thought, eyeball test Alabama was gonna have the best
- 14:27Speaker 1: shot to actually get out. Who won the money? Mike?
- 14:29Speaker 1: We allwa used to we have somebody some money? How much? Okay?
- 14:33Speaker 1: Can you? Yeah? He's the winner beginning because Mike had
- 14:40Speaker 1: Georgia Island covered boom flag in so we couldn't jump on.
- 14:43Speaker 1: So just let us all know how much money we
- 14:45Speaker 1: owe you will pay you. I think I changed my
- 14:46Speaker 1: team like nine times invoices me. All right. Next question
- 14:53Speaker 1: going to the NFL. Do you think Tom Brady continues
- 14:55Speaker 1: its undefeated career streak against Dallas on Monday night and
- 14:59Speaker 1: makes it to eight and hold on, let me get
- 15:01Speaker 1: my whistle in my mouth. I don't. I'll take it
- 15:03Speaker 1: out of my mouth. I don't, and they could, but
- 15:10Speaker 1: I don't, but I barely don't. Eddie I'll be honest
- 15:12Speaker 1: with you, I barely do I like the barely I'm
- 15:15Speaker 1: gonna I'm with you. I think the fact that the
- 15:16Speaker 1: Cowboys got embarrassed this last game is good for them.
- 15:20Speaker 1: You know, if TC had another game coming up, I'd
- 15:22Speaker 1: feel pretty good about them going into that. But I barely.
- 15:26Speaker 1: I mean, it's like eight, bro, I think that's the
- 15:29Speaker 1: closest line of the weekend two and a half. Maybe, yeah,
- 15:32Speaker 1: most of those games, like the Chargers eight plus Jacksonville.
- 15:36Speaker 1: But yeah, yes, I'm gonna go. Let's just go around
- 15:38Speaker 1: the room. I think the I think the Cowboys will win, Eddie, Yeah, absolutely,
- 15:43Speaker 1: I think the Cowboys will win. We've seen how hard
- 15:45Speaker 1: it is for Tom Brady to get the ball rolling.
- 15:47Speaker 1: We've seen Tom Brady win the Super Bowl more than
- 15:50Speaker 1: and be so if we're gonna go what we've seen,
- 15:52Speaker 1: we've also seen how easy it is for Deck to
- 15:54Speaker 1: give it away. And we've also seen how this Tampa
- 15:57Speaker 1: Bay offensive line's played the last couple of weeks, getting
- 16:00Speaker 1: healthy and healthier, and it's they've been able to run
- 16:03Speaker 1: the ball, which then opens up play action with what
- 16:05Speaker 1: Tom Brady is really good at. He's like, you're laughing
- 16:07Speaker 1: at feel like right there? But no, man, I mean, look,
- 16:13Speaker 1: I understand where people have a lot of Cowboy haters
- 16:15Speaker 1: out there, and I get Tom Brady to go, guys,
- 16:17Speaker 1: this is the worst we've ever seen Tom Brady. This
- 16:19Speaker 1: is the worst we've ever seen him the Cowboys. Look,
- 16:23Speaker 1: I love that they lost their last game. You don't
- 16:25Speaker 1: love that? Can I? I do? Can I read that?
- 16:27Speaker 1: You don't love that? Can I read that awesome stat
- 16:29Speaker 1: that our friends Steve sent us. Yeah, but you don't
- 16:30Speaker 1: love that they lost the last game? Sure I do.
- 16:33Speaker 1: Now you found a way to make it a positive
- 16:36Speaker 1: in your mind. You know what was weird? Man? When
- 16:38Speaker 1: I was watching the game, I truly did not feel
- 16:40Speaker 1: bad while they were losing. While they were losing, even
- 16:43Speaker 1: when exactly you kind of know you're in I mean
- 16:47Speaker 1: that's you know, and you can you can sit there.
- 16:50Speaker 1: But some of those some of those that plays were
- 16:53Speaker 1: just that last pick six was he had two wide
- 16:56Speaker 1: open receivers, right, what are you looking at? I mean
- 16:58Speaker 1: he was also throwing into like, you know, double covered,
- 17:00Speaker 1: triple coverage. I feel like the defense wasn't really even playing.
- 17:03Speaker 1: They're not gonna want to hurt themselves before the playoffs.
- 17:06Speaker 1: I really wasn't shook by it. But let's go Cowboys. Man,
- 17:08Speaker 1: we got this. I cannot wait to make Tom Brady
- 17:11Speaker 1: what seven and one against the Cowboys. I'm voting for
- 17:13Speaker 1: the Cowboys myself because I still own them in our league.
- 17:18Speaker 1: That we bought all these teams ahead of time, and
- 17:20Speaker 1: so if you have a team in the playoffs, it
- 17:21Speaker 1: continues to go. And so this is how much money
- 17:24Speaker 1: I'm down, So they have to win because I'm down
- 17:27Speaker 1: a lot in this stupid match the sky. Yeah, let
- 17:31Speaker 1: me tell you, so thank you for doing that, because
- 17:34Speaker 1: he just fully moved on. Wait till I tell you this,
- 17:36Speaker 1: and it never tells us. This is the win lost
- 17:39Speaker 1: pattern of the Cowboys from the start of the season.
- 17:41Speaker 1: So Cowboys lose a game, they win four in a
- 17:43Speaker 1: row after that, then they lose a game, they win
- 17:46Speaker 1: two in a row. After that, they lost a game,
- 17:48Speaker 1: they win four in a row again in this pattern.
- 17:50Speaker 1: The last loss, they want two in a row. So
- 17:53Speaker 1: we're back at that four. So Boys with this lot
- 17:58Speaker 1: of yes, it is with this as Commander's loss. If
- 18:02Speaker 1: we win four in a row like we've been doing
- 18:03Speaker 1: all season, we're winning the Super Bowl. But that's not
- 18:05Speaker 1: really a stat as much as it is it's a
- 18:07Speaker 1: pattern that sounds like a cow a weird coincidence. I
- 18:13Speaker 1: picture Eddie in a in a room by himself with
- 18:15Speaker 1: like the you know, the detective board, and all the
- 18:18Speaker 1: strings tied to all there. I need the Cowboys to win,
- 18:24Speaker 1: because every Cowboys win is worth five hundred bucks to me. Yeah,
- 18:28Speaker 1: but I'm down twenty. I'm down bucks. I'm negative. The
- 18:31Speaker 1: Cowboys didn't do that to you. The Cowboys got me
- 18:35Speaker 1: twelve skins this year. It's great, but my biggest winner
- 18:39Speaker 1: was the Bears losing at fourteen skins. But I'm down
- 18:43Speaker 1: and have two teams in the playoffs, the Cowboys and
- 18:45Speaker 1: the Chargers, so and every time they win it's five
- 18:47Speaker 1: hundred bucks I need. I need both teams to win
- 18:51Speaker 1: the Super Bowl for seven years. That's what I can
- 18:53Speaker 1: get back into this. I don't know how that's gonna work. Goy,
- 18:55Speaker 1: I'm down so much and stupid. I don't want to
- 18:57Speaker 1: pay that. It's so stupid. It's so stupid. The fact
- 19:01Speaker 1: that the Raiders were so bad, the Rams are bad,
- 19:05Speaker 1: and I got both those teams early. Those two teams
- 19:07Speaker 1: got you bad sucks all right, what else, Kevin, Which
- 19:10Speaker 1: young quarterback making his first postseason career start do you
- 19:13Speaker 1: trust more when they face off on Saturday, Trevor Lawrence
- 19:16Speaker 1: or Justin Herbert? Man, I like them both. That's pretty
- 19:18Speaker 1: cool that I feel like I would trust them both.
- 19:22Speaker 1: Mostly Trevor Lawrences earned it this year. You know, last
- 19:24Speaker 1: year I was like, we know this guy's got potential
- 19:26Speaker 1: at some point, we think we're supposed to trust that
- 19:29Speaker 1: he can win. But he's except for the fumble against Dallas,
- 19:34Speaker 1: which they end up winning that game. By the way,
- 19:35Speaker 1: remember when he went around the left side like trying
- 19:38Speaker 1: for the extra yards even though it was a long
- 19:39Speaker 1: run the like turn. Except for that, He's made pretty
- 19:43Speaker 1: good late game decisions second half of the season, like
- 19:46Speaker 1: so many that it's trending that you're going, oh, he
- 19:48Speaker 1: actually knows what he's doing, why to do it, and
- 19:50Speaker 1: when he does, and he figures it out quick, which
- 19:52Speaker 1: is awesome. He can also run, talk about that's a
- 19:54Speaker 1: mint running. Trevor Lawrence can run. So I do like
- 20:01Speaker 1: I like both of them, but probably Herbert though if
- 20:04Speaker 1: i'm picking right now, just because I think Herbert's right
- 20:07Speaker 1: now a better quarterback and I'm just gonna go based
- 20:09Speaker 1: solely on who's the best quarterback with the best weapons.
- 20:13Speaker 1: And I do think with San Diego having uh, you know,
- 20:18Speaker 1: a receiver back with possibly the second week Slater, their
- 20:24Speaker 1: alignment could be back. I mean, I think there's a
- 20:27Speaker 1: good chance for the Chargers to do two games ceiling.
- 20:32Speaker 1: That's when I put it at I think they're they're ceiling.
- 20:33Speaker 1: It's two wins. I don't think anymore than that. I
- 20:36Speaker 1: wish they would, though, and that's side You're going through Chiefs, Bills, Bengals.
- 20:44Speaker 1: That's a tough that's gonna be a tough bracket to
- 20:46Speaker 1: come out. And I think they could win this one
- 20:48Speaker 1: against the Charge against the the Jaguars, and they could
- 20:51Speaker 1: possibly that's why the ceiling is too. I think they could.
- 20:54Speaker 1: But I'm gonna go with Herbert Jordan White who did that.
- 20:58Speaker 1: I gotta go Trevor Lawrence because I like them both
- 21:01Speaker 1: about the same, but just by the performances of late.
- 21:04Speaker 1: But the Chargers defense is way way below what the
- 21:07Speaker 1: Jaguars have, and Jaguars defense top ten right now. They've
- 21:11Speaker 1: been playing really well, so I gotta I gotta give
- 21:13Speaker 1: that Trevor Lawrence. I also say to that with Justin Herbert,
- 21:16Speaker 1: he's had to play against these better teams for most
- 21:21Speaker 1: of the year. Two Again, you're over on a side
- 21:25Speaker 1: being in the a f C. Those teams are just
- 21:26Speaker 1: there's just better. There's just more good teams, much better
- 21:29Speaker 1: conce So he's constantly having I think his his swords
- 21:33Speaker 1: a little sharper at this point too, And there's something
- 21:36Speaker 1: to say about that, I think, so I would go
- 21:38Speaker 1: with it with with the Chargers in general. Wait, Jordan
- 21:40Speaker 1: you yeah, I'm I mean, I'll be honest. I love
- 21:43Speaker 1: Trevor Lawrence. I love that you've got two young quarterbacks
- 21:47Speaker 1: that you know, had targets on their back coming out
- 21:50Speaker 1: of college, that have gotten their teams in the playoff.
- 21:54Speaker 1: I'm pulling for Trevor Lawrence for you know, last year,
- 21:58Speaker 1: comes into Jacksonville, tough organization, tough head coach, lose, you know,
- 22:04Speaker 1: lose them halfway through the year. Uh, brand new coach
- 22:07Speaker 1: this year. Um yeah, I like, who would you bet
- 22:11Speaker 1: your money on? Though? Man, I'm actually taking Jaguars and
- 22:15Speaker 1: he's going to jack Did you just hear the man
- 22:18Speaker 1: he needs? I think that's my favorite game of the weekend. Yeah,
- 22:22Speaker 1: because it's one we're looking at, going, I wonder who wins, like, yeah,
- 22:24Speaker 1: it could be like I mean Dallas, not counting Monday
- 22:27Speaker 1: as you're saying, yeah, yeah, uh, it's my favorite game
- 22:32Speaker 1: on Sunday. Go ahead, Kevin, Well, we're talking about spreads
- 22:35Speaker 1: in that game right now. There Saturday and Sunday. There
- 22:37Speaker 1: are only two games with a spread under eight, and
- 22:39Speaker 1: it's the Jags and Chargers and Giants and Vikings. So
- 22:42Speaker 1: do you trust the Jags more to pull it out
- 22:44Speaker 1: or the Giants as underdog the Giants? I think the Giants.
- 22:49Speaker 1: And it's not even about the Giants. They figured out
- 22:51Speaker 1: ways to win, but Ennesota's Minnesota. But I just feel
- 22:55Speaker 1: I just that tick tick what is that freaking thing?
- 22:57Speaker 1: And turn to the pumpkin I do keep thinking, I
- 23:00Speaker 1: mean they I have no even Minnesota. They have weapons
- 23:05Speaker 1: justin Ja I mean everywhere, running back, wide, receiver, they
- 23:08Speaker 1: quarterback's fine, but they've just done it by the skin
- 23:12Speaker 1: of their teeth so many times. And now that the
- 23:16Speaker 1: Giants haven't because early there were a lot of those
- 23:17Speaker 1: games against the Titans on like Week one when they
- 23:19Speaker 1: go for that too, or what you know when the
- 23:21Speaker 1: game with say Kwan the Giants, though, I feel like
- 23:24Speaker 1: has a better shot to beat the Vikings than the
- 23:27Speaker 1: jet because anybody thinks the Jaguars gonna win, they're stupid.
- 23:30Speaker 1: I'll say they're stupid in their ugly away like and
- 23:31Speaker 1: I don't know who that would be, but they're just
- 23:33Speaker 1: stupid and their beards suck, and so I don't know,
- 23:35Speaker 1: you know, I like the home game. I like the
- 23:37Speaker 1: I like the Jaguars at home, you know, playoff football
- 23:41Speaker 1: going into Minnesota, Like, that's a that's gonna be a
- 23:45Speaker 1: tough game to pull out. No weather. Yeah you're in
- 23:48Speaker 1: the Dome, but you're also playing in Florida. Jaguars. It's
- 23:51Speaker 1: no weather both teams, and it's not like I mean,
- 23:55Speaker 1: j Duvall is pretty loud that. It's kind of it's
- 24:00Speaker 1: kind of new money passion. Though they're like, whoa, we're
- 24:03Speaker 1: actually we're They're like, all right, anything else? Yeah, the
- 24:11Speaker 1: last one with Lamar Jackson unlikely to play on Sunday.
- 24:13Speaker 1: Do you think this is a business decision for him? No,
- 24:15Speaker 1: I think you probably can't play. I think it'd be
- 24:17Speaker 1: awesome if you played and he won the Super Bowl.
- 24:20Speaker 1: I mean, that's the business decision. If you believe in yourself,
- 24:22Speaker 1: go do it. I think if he's and probably could
- 24:26Speaker 1: force it, I don't think the move is to go
- 24:28Speaker 1: and play hurt because that is a business decision because
- 24:32Speaker 1: you don't want to go in give it all when
- 24:35Speaker 1: you don't have that much anyway, and then it looks
- 24:37Speaker 1: pretty bad even though you didn't have it. I mean
- 24:39Speaker 1: I compared a little bit that to Baker Mayfield with
- 24:41Speaker 1: the with Cleveland with a broken arm but a collar bone,
- 24:43Speaker 1: shoulder issue. All it's throwing, and it's like after the
- 24:47Speaker 1: season they're going, man, he was so hurt the whole season,
- 24:50Speaker 1: the fact that even gutted it out and do you
- 24:53Speaker 1: have a quarter People don't get to hear that conversation
- 24:55Speaker 1: and go make Mayfield sucks and it's like, well he
- 24:57Speaker 1: was hurt and that hurt him in the market. On
- 24:59Speaker 1: the market, it did hurt him. So do I do?
- 25:02Speaker 1: I think it's just a straight business that's you know.
- 25:04Speaker 1: I think though, if he is like he's holding himself
- 25:07Speaker 1: out because he wants to, I'll show them. I think
- 25:10Speaker 1: that if he is really hurt and could barely play,
- 25:12Speaker 1: he shouldn't because that part of it, it's business, and
- 25:16Speaker 1: if it wasn't a contract year, it probably would be
- 25:17Speaker 1: a little different. But if he ain't good, and also
- 25:22Speaker 1: they've won some games with the backup quarterback, so I
- 25:27Speaker 1: think that he wants to stay there. I think if
- 25:29Speaker 1: he could, he would play. But I wouldn't play if
- 25:31Speaker 1: I was barely like um in with the Jets. So
- 25:37Speaker 1: Zach Wilson goes out, Mike White comes in, he breaks
- 25:40Speaker 1: his ribs, and he gets ribs all cracked up. He
- 25:42Speaker 1: came back the next week. Now Mike White's looking at
- 25:45Speaker 1: have a spot next year somewhere, and his ribs were
- 25:48Speaker 1: so bad and he gutted it out and he played,
- 25:49Speaker 1: but those that line was so bad for him. He
- 25:51Speaker 1: did not his numbers weren't good, he did not look good,
- 25:54Speaker 1: And I get he wanted to gut it out, but
- 25:56Speaker 1: the business there is probably not to go out there
- 25:58Speaker 1: and gut it out and look add because it's gonna
- 26:00Speaker 1: hurt you more next year because it's a contract here.
- 26:03Speaker 1: If it's not a contract here, it's probably different situation
- 26:05Speaker 1: because your last role taste of Mike White's him sucking
- 26:09Speaker 1: because the ribs were messed up. So it could be,
- 26:13Speaker 1: but I really don't think it is. I would like
- 26:14Speaker 1: to see the more play and I bet if they win,
- 26:16Speaker 1: which they won't, I bet if they win, he plays
- 26:18Speaker 1: week the next week. I mean, it's such a whatsy
- 26:29Speaker 1: thing to say such of them, Mike White, but don't
- 26:31Speaker 1: you agree, like it's he had a couple of good games,
- 26:35Speaker 1: but his body of work isn't large enough for a
- 26:37Speaker 1: team to go that guy. And then he looked real bad.
- 26:40Speaker 1: So even if you do the fan, the public opinion
- 26:43Speaker 1: is gonna be, well, he sucked against whoever their last
- 26:45Speaker 1: game was. Yeah, I don't know if I don't know
- 26:47Speaker 1: if he's put enough out there too to kind of
- 26:50Speaker 1: move into that, um, that kind of backup role where
- 26:55Speaker 1: you know he can go in and win five or
- 26:56Speaker 1: six games before if he needs to do do. What about
- 26:58Speaker 1: Sam Donald? Isn't his easy? How fast that fell off? Yeah,
- 27:01Speaker 1: I still think he's a good quarterback well, and he
- 27:03Speaker 1: also played pretty well when he came back. By the way,
- 27:08Speaker 1: Sam Mark a run a little bit too. We just
- 27:10Speaker 1: surprised every white guy can run, just like we're just
- 27:16Speaker 1: like dude. But I think like you could, like, yeah,
- 27:19Speaker 1: maybe just the eye tist on same Donald's like, yeah,
- 27:21Speaker 1: I guess probably more of a pocket guy. Yes, even
- 27:25Speaker 1: his haircut, he looks like a pocket. It looks like
- 27:27Speaker 1: a People have haircuts where they shouldn't be scrambling and
- 27:31Speaker 1: then when they are, Yeah, okay, here's the question. What
- 27:33Speaker 1: have you've been most wrong about this NFL season? From
- 27:37Speaker 1: this show? Just generally because we come on and we're
- 27:40Speaker 1: like I told you, I told you, we don't. We
- 27:41Speaker 1: rarely go back remember the time I was really wrong.
- 27:44Speaker 1: You know, it's not something we celebrate here, although we
- 27:46Speaker 1: know it's true. What's the thing you've been the most
- 27:49Speaker 1: wrong about, Eddie? Yeah, I started this season saying that
- 27:52Speaker 1: Tom wasn't going to make the playoffs. You bet money
- 27:54Speaker 1: on I did. We're trying to bet me on an
- 27:56Speaker 1: airplane once about that. I didn't take the bet. I
- 27:58Speaker 1: did correct, and I was wrong about it. I didn't
- 28:00Speaker 1: realize what crappy division they were in, and I didn't
- 28:03Speaker 1: realize they were gonna only have to win seven games
- 28:05Speaker 1: to make the playoffs, and they did. I was wrong
- 28:07Speaker 1: about Tom Brady. He still got a little bit of
- 28:09Speaker 1: juice left in that tank. So my bad, Kevin. I
- 28:13Speaker 1: was wrong about the Seahawks. I was coming into this year,
- 28:15Speaker 1: like a lot of people like they're gonna be so bad,
- 28:18Speaker 1: one of the worst teams, they're gonna tank, they need
- 28:19Speaker 1: a draft pick. And then all of a sudden, Gino
- 28:21Speaker 1: Smith set's record for the Seahawks and they have this
- 28:24Speaker 1: unbelievable year making playoffs. You're like, wait, what that was it?
- 28:27Speaker 1: For me? Just not a glamorous situation but ended up
- 28:30Speaker 1: really well. And you don't even pay that much attention
- 28:32Speaker 1: to it because it's not that glamorous or and he's
- 28:34Speaker 1: always been kind of in the middle of road or
- 28:35Speaker 1: a backup or so you don't even follow it when
- 28:37Speaker 1: it starts to go pretty good. But then he's consistently
- 28:40Speaker 1: pretty good and good, and so you don't even really
- 28:42Speaker 1: get that attached to it because it's not sensational. And
- 28:45Speaker 1: then he does something great and you're like, well, everybody
- 28:46Speaker 1: does something great, and so you just not invested in
- 28:49Speaker 1: by the time two years over and you're like, god, dang,
- 28:51Speaker 1: he played well, it was pretty good. No, Yeah, they're here, yeah,
- 28:54Speaker 1: and so they're not going to be looking for a
- 28:55Speaker 1: quarterback unless you go somewhere else, which could but I
- 28:58Speaker 1: feel like they you gotta yeah, at least for a
- 29:01Speaker 1: couple of years, maybe draft somebody in the later rounds
- 29:03Speaker 1: and hopefully. I mean, I'm telling you he's not gonna
- 29:05Speaker 1: take it to a couple of years. Yea, he has
- 29:07Speaker 1: the power in the leverage. After a full season. He
- 29:09Speaker 1: wasn't even hurt like he played the whole year. Basically,
- 29:14Speaker 1: Adam the Giants. I was big wrong about the Giants.
- 29:17Speaker 1: They were even last year. What were they eight and
- 29:20Speaker 1: eight last year or whatever? It was no? Four and
- 29:22Speaker 1: thirteen Sorry looking the wrong thing. They were four and
- 29:24Speaker 1: thirteen last year. Coming in with a new head coach.
- 29:26Speaker 1: I thought there was no way they would be worth anything.
- 29:28Speaker 1: I thought Kwan Barclay was gonna come back and not
- 29:31Speaker 1: be as good as he was before. But he bounced
- 29:33Speaker 1: back in a big way. Day all got those guys
- 29:36Speaker 1: playing really good football, and they found ways to win games.
- 29:38Speaker 1: And it's it's inspired football. It's it's fun to watch
- 29:42Speaker 1: the Giants this season. I did not expect to see that.
- 29:44Speaker 1: I did. We had Sa Kuan the question about how
- 29:47Speaker 1: many games on the miss said none. None. He only
- 29:49Speaker 1: said that because I'm a fantasy team, and I was
- 29:51Speaker 1: like willing it because if I didn't have them, I'll
- 29:53Speaker 1: be like seven. But I did say none, And what
- 29:57Speaker 1: a year, What a year he's had. It's been awesome, Jordan.
- 29:59Speaker 1: What what have you been wrong about the battle for
- 30:02Speaker 1: the NFC West. I thought it was gonna come down
- 30:04Speaker 1: to the Rams and the Cardinals, and I thought they
- 30:07Speaker 1: were both gonna be twelve with thirteen win teams and
- 30:09Speaker 1: they can bind for nine wins. The Rams one, what's
- 30:13Speaker 1: losing Stafford? That losing Cup? But Stafford was already gone anyway,
- 30:18Speaker 1: and it already wasn't trending right. There was some line
- 30:21Speaker 1: issues that one surprised me too that in the Cardinals too.
- 30:24Speaker 1: I mean, I love watching the Cardinals play. I know
- 30:28Speaker 1: Kyler got hurt early on, but they were already sucking
- 30:30Speaker 1: by that. Kyler was a bus you were J J. Watt.
- 30:33Speaker 1: You sent him out with four wins. It's just I
- 30:36Speaker 1: want to flip that whole division. Yeah. So, and I
- 30:39Speaker 1: bet money on the Cardinals to win the division because
- 30:41Speaker 1: Eddie told me the plane flew over his house and
- 30:43Speaker 1: thought and the gods in the plane over and it
- 30:46Speaker 1: was divine intervention to bet them. And I was like,
- 30:49Speaker 1: I was like, are you sure. It's like, yeah, I said,
- 30:51Speaker 1: the plane, I can see the Cardinal logos that flew
- 30:53Speaker 1: over my house, and so I said, I said, that's
- 30:55Speaker 1: just I guess absolutely, so I bet them, and then
- 30:57Speaker 1: I just that's just piste away money. Sometimes you just
- 31:00Speaker 1: kind of misread signs the plan was actually descending. So
- 31:03Speaker 1: I guess the sign was that they were. They won
- 31:07Speaker 1: four game, But yeah, that that division ended up forty
- 31:10Speaker 1: nine or Seahawks and Rams Cardinals, I totally would have
- 31:12Speaker 1: flipped that division on its head. Being in the year.
- 31:14Speaker 1: I was wrong that Cliff wouldn't be fired because every
- 31:18Speaker 1: season prior he'd won more games than the year before.
- 31:20Speaker 1: And it's hard when when there's one year of down
- 31:24Speaker 1: to wipe somebody off after they've had every goody. But listen,
- 31:26Speaker 1: that first round playoff lost last year not great for
- 31:29Speaker 1: him because they look terrible. Look but they continue in
- 31:32Speaker 1: more games, and I thought, there's no way he'll get fired.
- 31:33Speaker 1: Even if they lose everything the he'll at least get
- 31:37Speaker 1: a buffer. And then and then when Kyler got hurt,
- 31:39Speaker 1: I was like, oh, he won't get fired because even
- 31:41Speaker 1: the last half he'd get he'd get a chance. That. Boy,
- 31:46Speaker 1: was I wrong on that. How many how many years
- 31:47Speaker 1: was this for him? This his third year, fourth year,
- 31:50Speaker 1: probably four? I know they signed signed him to an
- 31:52Speaker 1: extension as well, like ten months ago. My big error
- 31:58Speaker 1: was Mitch Drobiski, What do you say about him? He's amazing?
- 32:03Speaker 1: Way did you have him having? You guys breaks yourself
- 32:07Speaker 1: for Pittsburgh. Baby, Hey, hey, learned from Josh Allen. He's
- 32:12Speaker 1: gonna he's gonna wreck Shaw. He'snam start after like week
- 32:16Speaker 1: two or early on on that one. Boyse alright, big
- 32:21Speaker 1: story of the weekend. Let's be specific here, Eddie Man,
- 32:25Speaker 1: I want to talk about John Metchi because you know,
- 32:27Speaker 1: we talked a lot about you know, DeMar Hamlin, but
- 32:29Speaker 1: DeMar um John you know, he had he was diagnosed
- 32:32Speaker 1: with some rare form leukemia. This is in July, and
- 32:36Speaker 1: now they're saying that he should be ready to you know,
- 32:38Speaker 1: get joined the team back by next season, and like,
- 32:41Speaker 1: let's play ball. It's crazy. And I would see him
- 32:43Speaker 1: on the sidelines and the games too, and it was like,
- 32:45Speaker 1: yeah's you know, they wonder if he'll get to play
- 32:48Speaker 1: two years. The fact that they're now going he could
- 32:51Speaker 1: be next year, it's awesome. I think that's really really cool.
- 32:54Speaker 1: It's it's inspiring. Yeah, Kevin, for me, it's gonna be
- 32:56Speaker 1: this weekend watching head coaches Mike McCarthy and Brandon State
- 33:00Speaker 1: and their management of the clock, the game, whatever it is.
- 33:03Speaker 1: And I want to see because Brannon CLI's nuts, like I
- 33:05Speaker 1: I do some weird things, and if it costs them
- 33:08Speaker 1: the game and cost them the season, you could easily
- 33:10Speaker 1: hear people saying, well should he stick around and seeing
- 33:12Speaker 1: with McCarthy and his time management. Yeah, McCarthy I thought
- 33:15Speaker 1: probably would have been gone before the season started this year.
- 33:18Speaker 1: Like if you just said, would McCarthy make it to
- 33:20Speaker 1: next year? We just go now? Because even a game
- 33:23Speaker 1: over five dred which nine and eight seventeen, I thought
- 33:26Speaker 1: Jerry would have probably said, you gotta go. But they've
- 33:28Speaker 1: won enough. That is long, I mean getting if they
- 33:33Speaker 1: get bounced in the first round, there's an outside shot.
- 33:36Speaker 1: I was talking to Jerry, you know, an outside shot
- 33:39Speaker 1: they move on. But if he wins that first round game,
- 33:43Speaker 1: he's good. But yeah, he's not like a coach. He's
- 33:45Speaker 1: just you put all your faith into the fan. But
- 33:47Speaker 1: look how long they stuck with Garrett, you know, so
- 33:49Speaker 1: to me it just kind of feels like they're they're
- 33:51Speaker 1: patient with their coaches. Yeah, but Garrett, it was his
- 33:53Speaker 1: first time as a head coach, and I think there's
- 33:55Speaker 1: probably a learning curve there too that you understand first
- 33:57Speaker 1: time head coach, former Cowboy player. I just think there's
- 34:01Speaker 1: a different relationship and association with somebody who gets the
- 34:03Speaker 1: ability to have a learning curve as a coach. You
- 34:05Speaker 1: don't bring him McCarthy and go what you gotta learning
- 34:07Speaker 1: curve as a coach. He's had a lot of head
- 34:08Speaker 1: coaching many years, So yeah, that'd be fine. You know.
- 34:12Speaker 1: I kind of wish the Broncos were in the playoffs
- 34:14Speaker 1: to watch their clock management when they fired their coach
- 34:18Speaker 1: Adam this week. For Arkansas fans, this one hit home
- 34:23Speaker 1: pretty hard. Peyton hillis former Arkansas Star UM Madden cover guy,
- 34:28Speaker 1: former Cleveland Brown UM. He was in a near drowning
- 34:31Speaker 1: accident this past week when he saved his kids from
- 34:34Speaker 1: drowning at the beach, and UH, he went down and
- 34:38Speaker 1: he was he was reportedly on a ventilator. UH been
- 34:42Speaker 1: in the hospital for all the better part of two
- 34:44Speaker 1: weeks now. But today they took him off the ventilator
- 34:47Speaker 1: and he's finally starting to respond. And so that's a
- 34:49Speaker 1: big deal to UH, to that family and too, and
- 34:52Speaker 1: to people in Arkansas. Who love that guy and too
- 34:54Speaker 1: people everywhere cause he's a good dude, and he was
- 34:57Speaker 1: doing something really really amazing, uh saving his kids. He's
- 35:01Speaker 1: I don't know. It was a really touching story, and
- 35:03Speaker 1: I hope that guy gets better. So he was like
- 35:04Speaker 1: coughing up sand and so I had so much in
- 35:06Speaker 1: his long sand and water. Obviously where they it was
- 35:08Speaker 1: a hundred on a later for a long time. But yeah,
- 35:11Speaker 1: they took him off and hopefully that is a great sign.
- 35:13Speaker 1: Jordan's Yeah, dude, that's like heartbreak. I had no clue
- 35:16Speaker 1: of that. Uh wow, my little thing here's totally pointless
- 35:21Speaker 1: compared to that pointless too, But I'll give you a buffer.
- 35:24Speaker 1: I was going back and forth. I feel like we
- 35:27Speaker 1: touched on the Jags thing. Um. I do want to
- 35:29Speaker 1: see Doug Peterson, head coach of Jack's. He won a
- 35:32Speaker 1: Super Bowl four years ago. I want to see how
- 35:34Speaker 1: that plays into a team that's on a five game
- 35:37Speaker 1: win streak um and then a quick one too. Dak,
- 35:42Speaker 1: Dak Prescott's got a ton of pressure on him right now.
- 35:44Speaker 1: This is a very very big game for him this weekend,
- 35:47Speaker 1: and I personally Louisiana kid love Dak Prescott. I really
- 35:51Speaker 1: hope to see him perform this weekend. Two words, Cooper Rush.
- 35:55Speaker 1: He's all he's always ready. It's always always ready. You
- 35:58Speaker 1: know we can run imagine that, which I don't think
- 36:02Speaker 1: you can. I'll be honest with you. I'm just rudges
- 36:05Speaker 1: about Cooper Rugs. They got a pocket haircut his pocket
- 36:12Speaker 1: for Cooper Rush. So for me, obviously with you bring
- 36:18Speaker 1: up something pretty interesting that with Doug Peterson and you know,
- 36:20Speaker 1: we won the Super with Philadelphia and he's with the
- 36:24Speaker 1: Jaguars now, which they brought him into actually hopefully kind
- 36:28Speaker 1: of change the course on this situation, especially with the
- 36:31Speaker 1: quarterback in Jacksonville. Um. The fact you can get fired
- 36:34Speaker 1: after winning Super Bowl even two or three years later
- 36:36Speaker 1: and film that's dead to me is crazy. The fact
- 36:39Speaker 1: that we have coaches that are going into the playoffs
- 36:41Speaker 1: now that could be fired if they don't win their
- 36:42Speaker 1: playoff game says a lot about the state of the NFL.
- 36:45Speaker 1: You need to win now, you need to win consistently. Um. So,
- 36:49Speaker 1: the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Tennessee Titans went the opposite ways.
- 36:53Speaker 1: It's like they met on the road and they were like,
- 36:55Speaker 1: all right, I'm gonna go this way, and you go
- 36:57Speaker 1: this way. And the Titans lost five six in a
- 37:00Speaker 1: row and the Jags won like five in a row,
- 37:03Speaker 1: whatever the case is. And this isn't even my thing,
- 37:05Speaker 1: but you're talking about that. It's like, well, what a
- 37:07Speaker 1: tael of two cities where Tennessee Nashville US. The whole
- 37:11Speaker 1: city is like, we're going on the playoffs, baby, let's go.
- 37:13Speaker 1: And Jacksonville is like, great, here we go again. And boy,
- 37:16Speaker 1: it did not end up like that, and it actually
- 37:17Speaker 1: culminated with him playing each other and it was pretty
- 37:20Speaker 1: close both the very end of the game. But dude,
- 37:23Speaker 1: five five wins in a row, man, that's that's a
- 37:25Speaker 1: scrappy Jacksonville team. So it's gonna be a fun game
- 37:28Speaker 1: to watch. Yeah. For me, it's you know, all these
- 37:31Speaker 1: quarterbacks on the a f C. They're young, they're early
- 37:35Speaker 1: draft picks there. You know, it's it's kind of who
- 37:38Speaker 1: can survive, Like they're all really good, they all probably
- 37:43Speaker 1: need a little help to survive. Patrick Holmes does not
- 37:45Speaker 1: have to play this week, and he's the oldest, he's
- 37:48Speaker 1: the old head. He said, yeah, wow, that's crazy. Other
- 37:50Speaker 1: than that, you're looking at Josh Allen's twenty six, Joe
- 37:53Speaker 1: Burrows twenty six, Trevor Lawrences twenty three, Justin Herbert's twenty four,
- 37:56Speaker 1: Lamar Jackson who won't start as twenty six for Tyler
- 37:58Speaker 1: Huntley twenty four d and Skyler Thompson, what boy pants in?
- 38:04Speaker 1: It sounds like, yeah, yeah, yeah, he's twenty five. So
- 38:09Speaker 1: the dolphense the Dolphins don't have a chance. Dolphens don't
- 38:11Speaker 1: have a chance that game is gonna be terribly ugly.
- 38:14Speaker 1: So it's can you stay healthy and can you get
- 38:17Speaker 1: help from the other side of the ball, And that's
- 38:19Speaker 1: pretty consistent with all of these teams, and if they
- 38:22Speaker 1: can get just a little bit of help defensively, most
- 38:25Speaker 1: of the quarterbacks are so good that that's all they need.
- 38:28Speaker 1: And what defenses are going to step up this week?
- 38:31Speaker 1: Because if the Bill's defense gives him just a little bit,
- 38:34Speaker 1: it's over. Josh Allen is the same thing with Patrick
- 38:36Speaker 1: Mahomes just a little bit, Justin Herbert just a little bit.
- 38:40Speaker 1: It's like Kyler Thompson, that ain't happening. You need They
- 38:43Speaker 1: need the defense to fourteen players for them to have avery.
- 38:50Speaker 1: For me, it's the young quarterbacks and on that side,
- 38:53Speaker 1: I didn't realize that they're all They're all so and
- 38:55Speaker 1: if you add up all the ages together, this is
- 38:57Speaker 1: a fun stat like Eddie had earlier. They get up
- 38:59Speaker 1: all the ages together. They're both odd and even numbers
- 39:01Speaker 1: and no order unless you put him in order. That
- 39:03Speaker 1: I think that's about his that's very comparable to Eddie state. Yeah,
- 39:07Speaker 1: so somebody, I think they're both great stats. Okay, thank you, buddy.
- 39:11Speaker 1: Speaking of stats, let's go over and get at dam Stats.
- 39:16Speaker 1: Adam Stats. Adam has all years stats for you at
- 39:20Speaker 1: um Stats. We talked a ton today about the Jaguars, Bobby.
- 39:25Speaker 1: I know your big Trevor Lawrence, the hair guy. I
- 39:27Speaker 1: like Trevor Lawrence a lot. I just like my money better.
- 39:31Speaker 1: Huge stat's gonna make every Titans fan really sad and
- 39:34Speaker 1: cussed the end of this year. The Jaguars scored ten
- 39:37Speaker 1: points in the fourth quarter of that game versus the Titans,
- 39:40Speaker 1: despite having negative one yards in the fourth quarter of
- 39:44Speaker 1: that game. I mean, without that fumble that looked like
- 39:47Speaker 1: a four past, but he hit his hand right, hit
- 39:48Speaker 1: his arm and his arm forward. He was already three.
- 39:50Speaker 1: The ball starts moving before and then it kind of fumbled.
- 39:53Speaker 1: Without that and that good film position the Jaguars, nobody
- 39:57Speaker 1: was scoring. The Titans had lured them into a game
- 40:00Speaker 1: like the Titans like ugly, sloppy, and without that fumble,
- 40:04Speaker 1: it wouldn't have happened. So you had that. As weird
- 40:06Speaker 1: as it is to hear those numbers watching it, it
- 40:08Speaker 1: makes sense. It makes sense on paper. It was that.
- 40:12Speaker 1: That's a baffling stat that's a that's a tough stat
- 40:15Speaker 1: to miss the playoffs, inability to flip the field, inability
- 40:18Speaker 1: to do anything on offense. The Titans did they did?
- 40:22Speaker 1: They even give him Aleak Walls a shot next year.
- 40:24Speaker 1: I haven't seen anything from him that says invest in
- 40:29Speaker 1: that guy, but mostly we don't from rookies, especially rookies.
- 40:32Speaker 1: They knew we're gonna be a project anyway, but they
- 40:35Speaker 1: and they made him play early and it was a
- 40:38Speaker 1: I mean, it's it's it's a bad spot. I just
- 40:40Speaker 1: wonder what they do. I would keep him another year's
- 40:43Speaker 1: backup or third string. They're also if they could not
- 40:46Speaker 1: losing much money. Third round pick, you don't get a
- 40:48Speaker 1: whole lot of it's not a big bonus. You know
- 40:50Speaker 1: you're signing. It's not big. I did like what I see.
- 40:52Speaker 1: Josh Dobbs. I agree there was something there that's at
- 40:55Speaker 1: least you know him coming in that fast, learning an offense.
- 40:58Speaker 1: And do you think Tannahill, you think Tannhell plays he
- 41:01Speaker 1: comes back to the Tignes next year. I have a
- 41:05Speaker 1: lot of money to pay them, depends what their options.
- 41:06Speaker 1: It's a lot of money. I mean, Derek Carr let
- 41:09Speaker 1: go a lot of quarterbacks out there. Derek Car. Derek
- 41:11Speaker 1: Car had the most point scored on him. His defenses
- 41:14Speaker 1: were the worst of any team in the NFL. Put
- 41:17Speaker 1: that in your stat butthole that. As a New Orleans
- 41:21Speaker 1: Saints fan, I hope he takes a trip to South Louisiana.
- 41:23Speaker 1: But as a Titan, I like Derek Carr. He he
- 41:27Speaker 1: was always playing from behind. And when you're playing from behind,
- 41:30Speaker 1: you gotta sling it a little bit more, and you
- 41:32Speaker 1: gotta be able, you gotta take more risks and okay,
- 41:34Speaker 1: he's got so many interceptions. Yeah, when you're playing from behind,
- 41:37Speaker 1: you else. Going back to college, I've heard Georgia fans
- 41:43Speaker 1: all your poor mouth in this team all year long,
- 41:45Speaker 1: they poor math stets and been like I don't can
- 41:47Speaker 1: he do it? Again. You know, they talk about the
- 41:49Speaker 1: last year's team being the better team and everything. I
- 41:54Speaker 1: just don't see where the stats bear that out. And
- 41:56Speaker 1: check this out. So this year they increased from thirty
- 41:59Speaker 1: eight forty one points a game. They've got seven hundred
- 42:02Speaker 1: more passing yards, a half a yard more per carry,
- 42:05Speaker 1: rushing the ball, five ft interceptions, point two more yards
- 42:08Speaker 1: per playing Like every single substantial stat this year's team
- 42:13Speaker 1: is better than last year's team. And I didn't think
- 42:15Speaker 1: i'd say that after after watching this this team the
- 42:18Speaker 1: first half of the year. But this Georgia team better
- 42:20Speaker 1: than the last year's. My theory is that all the
- 42:23Speaker 1: other teams were just worse. They took all the good
- 42:25Speaker 1: players and put him on their team could be and
- 42:27Speaker 1: everybody else is just a lot worse. That's a crazy theory. Yeah,
- 42:30Speaker 1: they have they lost her seven hundred kids. Yeah, and
- 42:33Speaker 1: six ten of them are hiding. They don't know. That's
- 42:38Speaker 1: a mystery, all right. I don't thank you Adams. He's
- 42:46Speaker 1: got those stats for you. Hey, Kevin, I do want
- 42:52Speaker 1: to talk for about Derek Carr for a second. We
- 42:54Speaker 1: record this. He just put a statement and I've not
- 42:55Speaker 1: read it. What did Derek car say, yeah, so you're
- 42:58Speaker 1: just a quick little summary of it. He just basically
- 42:59Speaker 1: posted on Twitter, Instagram Raider Nation. That breaks my heart.
- 43:02Speaker 1: I didn't get an opportunity to say that goodbye in person.
- 43:05Speaker 1: We certainly have been on the roller coaster our nine
- 43:06Speaker 1: years together. From bottom of my heart, I am so
- 43:08Speaker 1: grateful and appreciative of the years I spent. The fire
- 43:12Speaker 1: inside of me to win championship is still there. So
- 43:14Speaker 1: I want to keep playing, and whoever gets to me
- 43:16Speaker 1: the new team, I will be there and give everything
- 43:18Speaker 1: I have. He wanted to see him all in person.
- 43:20Speaker 1: I don't understand. Wouldn't have been a person anyo. Every
- 43:22Speaker 1: single one He's like, Yes, I was gonna come knock
- 43:24Speaker 1: on your door, but dinner ran a little late. Is
- 43:27Speaker 1: this the first? I mean, is he announcing this? Yeah?
- 43:30Speaker 1: He put it out broken news, broken by toy whistles.
- 43:34Speaker 1: What is so? Is he is his contract up? Or
- 43:37Speaker 1: is he or they're not saying release me? Yeah, well
- 43:40Speaker 1: they're not going to resign. Okay, that was part of
- 43:42Speaker 1: the deal. They're gonna either trade him or release him
- 43:46Speaker 1: cut him because I was part of the just while
- 43:47Speaker 1: they kept him away from the team for the last
- 43:48Speaker 1: two games or like it would be better because we
- 43:49Speaker 1: don't want there to be any sort of weirdness. I'm
- 43:52Speaker 1: gonna come in. So he wasn't even there. The last
- 43:54Speaker 1: two games odd. The Raiders are odd. Yeah, the Raiders
- 44:00Speaker 1: are all and and we had heard earlier in the
- 44:02Speaker 1: year that that relationship, the coach quarterback relationship wasn't great anyway,
- 44:09Speaker 1: and that he really didn't want and again just rumors conjecture,
- 44:14Speaker 1: he really didn't want Derek Carr anyway. So probably it's
- 44:20Speaker 1: also his card to stay a little longer. Like I
- 44:24Speaker 1: told you, I didn't want to begin with. Let's we're
- 44:25Speaker 1: gonna get on the quarterback. We're gonna move from there.
- 44:28Speaker 1: They're going get Jimmy g Yeah, they'll get Tom Brady,
- 44:31Speaker 1: whomever it will be. They'll have a quarterback, and then
- 44:35Speaker 1: he'll have a shot to actually, but it's also not
- 44:38Speaker 1: like he had big The only time he wanted the
- 44:39Speaker 1: head coach was when they were cheating. They had won
- 44:41Speaker 1: like six games in a row, but they were like
- 44:43Speaker 1: recording practices of others. So I like Derek Carr. I'll
- 44:46Speaker 1: leave it there, And that's a nice message. And I
- 44:47Speaker 1: wish there a car could have gone to everybody's home,
- 44:49Speaker 1: but he couldn't. He wanted to give it in person,
- 44:50Speaker 1: at least he wanted to. Like that. The Pro Bowl,
- 44:53Speaker 1: I saw their doing skills challenge, like they have different stuff.
- 44:55Speaker 1: That's gonna be pretty fine. Yeah, they announced it, so
- 44:56Speaker 1: they're not even doing a game at all. Actually, so
- 44:58Speaker 1: that Thursday they have a couple of things going on
- 45:00Speaker 1: it and I thought a cool one was the longest drive,
- 45:02Speaker 1: grabbing four people from each conference and going against each
- 45:04Speaker 1: other and adding it up. I believe, and whoever, as
- 45:07Speaker 1: long as drive wins. Yeah, it's just like camp for
- 45:09Speaker 1: the good football players. That Yeah, it's I'm so glad
- 45:12Speaker 1: they should have got rid of that game, yeah eight
- 45:14Speaker 1: years ago. What else, there's a precision passing percision persisting
- 45:22Speaker 1: precision passing for the three couarterbacks from each conference battle
- 45:26Speaker 1: out to like get an accuracy target and then the
- 45:28Speaker 1: best catch basically like the dunk contest but a catch.
- 45:31Speaker 1: There's some of these are gonna be really dumb. Yeah,
- 45:34Speaker 1: I think the best catch could get really dumb. Yeah. Yeah,
- 45:36Speaker 1: And it's a lot of this is gonna really doumb
- 45:37Speaker 1: But that's okay because we're gonna it's gonna be really dumb.
- 45:39Speaker 1: The next year is gonna be kind of dumb, and
- 45:41Speaker 1: we're gonna figure out what we like. But no more
- 45:43Speaker 1: game because that was all dumb and nobody wanted to
- 45:45Speaker 1: get hurt. I like it. And they're doing flag football
- 45:47Speaker 1: instead of the game. Three games of flag football? But
- 45:50Speaker 1: how many people on each side? Seven on seven? And
- 45:53Speaker 1: I don't know, guys, I'm I don't care about any
- 45:57Speaker 1: of this. I hope there are fun clips that come
- 45:59Speaker 1: from it. I'll probably not watch you, but think about this.
- 46:01Speaker 1: I liked to watch whenever random people I didn't know
- 46:06Speaker 1: from colleges I never watched would go to Indianapolis and
- 46:10Speaker 1: run forties and catch balls and do push ups in
- 46:15Speaker 1: bench press. I would watch that crap on NFL Network sprint.
- 46:19Speaker 1: And so if they turned like this into like field
- 46:22Speaker 1: day when you're in eighth grade, I'll watch that more
- 46:24Speaker 1: than the Pro Bowl because I'm already watching that stupid
- 46:28Speaker 1: stuff from college kids who I don't even know as
- 46:30Speaker 1: we're trying to make it in the NFL. No, I'm
- 46:32Speaker 1: with you, but already on Sundays, I have to take
- 46:34Speaker 1: my kids to flag football, and like, it's not flag
- 46:36Speaker 1: football is not fun, guys, okay, but did you watch
- 46:38Speaker 1: the Pro Bowl? I would have it on because there
- 46:42Speaker 1: was sound coming from the living room and it was football.
- 46:45Speaker 1: I would not watch Probols terrible. I'm never the skills,
- 46:50Speaker 1: the passing skills, the races, somebody like four people. They
- 46:58Speaker 1: did that in the eighties, right, they had in the seventies.
- 47:01Speaker 1: They did Battle the Sports stars and they may have
- 47:03Speaker 1: rolled into the eighties too because I watched and you'll
- 47:05Speaker 1: never believe this. You know who could run? Wayne Gretzky?
- 47:08Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that clip? That clip was all around this week.
- 47:11Speaker 1: Wayne Gretzky could run. Who knew? Hey, it was pretty cool.
- 47:14Speaker 1: Was he the great one? Donald Hey? Or Cooper Rush
- 47:19Speaker 1: or leave Cooper? And we just started listening all the
- 47:23Speaker 1: white guys. We're just surprised Gretzky dominated these other athletes,
- 47:30Speaker 1: just like god, dang, but yeah, they did. That show
- 47:33Speaker 1: was like seventies and in early eighties. So the cool
- 47:35Speaker 1: catch thing like what are they gonna do, like do
- 47:37Speaker 1: three six jumps and like one handers? Maybe and maybe
- 47:39Speaker 1: it's also the one that could get squirrely and maybe
- 47:42Speaker 1: it's awesome. Yeah, I could get really dumb, but you
- 47:44Speaker 1: know what's dumb. The Pro Bowl. How it was like,
- 47:46Speaker 1: we're trying something here. It's it's gonna be more fun
- 47:49Speaker 1: this year than it was. The good players didn't want
- 47:51Speaker 1: to go play the real game because they don't want
- 47:52Speaker 1: to get hurt. And it was stupid, which allowed people
- 47:55Speaker 1: we never heard of to make the Pro Bowl. More
- 47:57Speaker 1: people will get to make the Pro Bowl and continue
- 47:59Speaker 1: to be Pro Bowlers, but because they're like, hey, I'll
- 48:00Speaker 1: go do that and that would be cool. Okay, Um,
- 48:03Speaker 1: I need to do Mike, I need to do this.
- 48:05Speaker 1: But I'm gonna tell you this. I'm gonna do talk
- 48:06Speaker 1: about Draft Kings. I don't have my car lays. We're
- 48:08Speaker 1: gonna do it together because if it's NFL, I miss it.
- 48:13Speaker 1: So I'm either going to pick opposite of what I pick,
- 48:15Speaker 1: or we're gonna decide as a team because I gotta
- 48:18Speaker 1: pick two games here, and if you're extremely passionate about one,
- 48:22Speaker 1: let me know and I'll tell you either that you're stupid,
- 48:23Speaker 1: which means you're good or not, so let me. Tony
- 48:27Speaker 1: Whistles is presented by Draft Kings sports book and official
- 48:29Speaker 1: sports betting partner of the NFL. Download the Draft Kings
- 48:33Speaker 1: app use the code Bobby Sports and with that you
- 48:36Speaker 1: can get in on the action. I'm going to NFL.
- 48:41Speaker 1: We have raise your hand if you love the bet. Okay, Okay,
- 48:46Speaker 1: Seahawks plus nine and a half at San Francisco. Okay,
- 48:51Speaker 1: Jordan one, Kevin two, Okay, good, San Francisco minus nine
- 48:56Speaker 1: and a half at San Francisco against the Seahawks. I
- 48:58Speaker 1: like that one, Adam, Okay, you too? Okay, we have
- 49:00Speaker 1: two too. Okay, Now I would go with the Seahawks
- 49:04Speaker 1: of that. So we're gonna go to forty Niners. Oh
- 49:07Speaker 1: you're doing the opposite, Okay, so Mike Niners. I hey,
- 49:12Speaker 1: I would never bet this Niners minus nine and a half.
- 49:15Speaker 1: That's just so many points. I would never bet that.
- 49:17Speaker 1: It so stupid. I feel like the Jaguars and the
- 49:21Speaker 1: Chargers charges are minus too. Does anyone like the Chargers
- 49:24Speaker 1: minus too? Because I love it? Oh? You guys love it?
- 49:28Speaker 1: Loves it. I don't like. I'm I'm riding with the
- 49:30Speaker 1: Jags and I love it. So we're gonna go Jags. Crap,
- 49:35Speaker 1: I know, Jags plus two. Gotta hope that doesn't happen.
- 49:40Speaker 1: They're gonna show up and we're gonna pick one more game.
- 49:42Speaker 1: I don't want to touch Miami Buffalo. That one just feels.
- 49:44Speaker 1: Let's go Vikings and Giants. Like Vikings minus three, Giants
- 49:48Speaker 1: plus three, Giants plus three. Anybody like that? Love it
- 49:51Speaker 1: me too? We also love Giants plus three. Alright, Vikings
- 49:56Speaker 1: minus three one to three. Well, there we go Vikings.
- 49:59Speaker 1: All right, there's Mike, here's our probably if this thing wins,
- 50:05Speaker 1: the amazing like culturable, I almost can't miss. What's the difference.
- 50:09Speaker 1: That's like when people like do like, oh, I like
- 50:11Speaker 1: Cincinnati the city. I'll bet on them and they win.
- 50:14Speaker 1: But what yeah, what's what? What's come? I'm so good
- 50:16Speaker 1: at one and I absolutely it's like just those same
- 50:18Speaker 1: players a little older. But I think you see, that's
- 50:23Speaker 1: the thing those NFL is like, it's still hard to
- 50:26Speaker 1: beat the worst team in the NFL because it's a
- 50:29Speaker 1: team full of the best college athletes off of their team. Yeah,
- 50:33Speaker 1: I think that's where it's like Jerry Jones told me
- 50:35Speaker 1: that literally did and mine. Mine wasn't working, so I
- 50:38Speaker 1: didn't hear that. I didn't hear that either. Yeah, Mike,
- 50:40Speaker 1: Mike and I you couldn't hear anything. Okay, still cool
- 50:43Speaker 1: because you were Yeah, that's awesome. If you want to
- 50:46Speaker 1: take the twenty five whistles parlay, you can check Outdraft
- 50:48Speaker 1: Kings sports Book. New users use the code Boby sports
- 50:50Speaker 1: on you download the app twenty one and up. Most
- 50:52Speaker 1: eligible states, but age bears my jurisdiction eligibility retricting supply.
- 50:55Speaker 1: A gambling problem called one Gambler in New York called
- 50:57Speaker 1: eight seven seven eight hope and wire texts hoping why
- 50:59Speaker 1: four six and three, six and nine see show notes
- 51:01Speaker 1: for the tails. Just a couple of things here before
- 51:03Speaker 1: we go, and we get into with coach Barry Odum,
- 51:04Speaker 1: head coach of un l v UM, And I want
- 51:07Speaker 1: to let Jordan know this because I don't think he
- 51:09Speaker 1: was here for this whole situation. It way early in
- 51:11Speaker 1: the football season. I got into an eliminator and it
- 51:14Speaker 1: was two teams a week, and as long as both
- 51:16Speaker 1: teams win, you move on, and once you use them,
- 51:18Speaker 1: you can't use them again. I've never been in a
- 51:20Speaker 1: two team before because that eliminates a bunch of teams quickly,
- 51:23Speaker 1: and it gets to the nitty gritty quick and there
- 51:24Speaker 1: were nine hundred people in it, and it cost a
- 51:27Speaker 1: hundred bucks to get in a hundred A team and
- 51:31Speaker 1: a one, and I kept winning, and I kept winning. Anyway,
- 51:33Speaker 1: it's week eighteen and hadn't lost in a minute with
- 51:36Speaker 1: eight other people, and so there are gonna be people
- 51:40Speaker 1: eliminated at least one or two minimally. So I'm gonna
- 51:44Speaker 1: make All I have to do is win. Just win
- 51:47Speaker 1: my two games, not even. And I went ten thousand
- 51:49Speaker 1: dollars minimally just when my two games. I've won every
- 51:51Speaker 1: game one of my two games, ten thousand dollars minimally.
- 51:54Speaker 1: First first game, Jacksonville, Tennessee. Somebody pick Tennessee, boom one
- 51:57Speaker 1: team gone. I picked Jacksonville. I think god they won
- 52:01Speaker 1: barely again, skinn of me teeth, I'm going full lucky
- 52:05Speaker 1: charms on you guys. Skin of me teeth. Wait, so
- 52:08Speaker 1: you have to pick two? Hold on, we're not the
- 52:10Speaker 1: week eighteen, the int Week eight teen, last week. So
- 52:12Speaker 1: I win with the Jaguars, have one more team because
- 52:15Speaker 1: you got to pick two every week. So there are games.
- 52:18Speaker 1: There's the Pittsburgh Cleveland game that I could have picked
- 52:23Speaker 1: because I hadn't picked out one of those teams yet.
- 52:25Speaker 1: There was the Colts Texans game, which I could have
- 52:29Speaker 1: picked because I didn't pick either one of those teams.
- 52:31Speaker 1: There was the Packers and Lions game, which I could
- 52:35Speaker 1: have picked. Who would you have picked of those three
- 52:38Speaker 1: games of those six teams? Not regardless of what happened
- 52:40Speaker 1: in the games. You have to forget about what happened.
- 52:43Speaker 1: I'm trying to think of what I would have done. Um,
- 52:47Speaker 1: I'll be honestly, I probably would have road with the Colts.
- 52:50Speaker 1: Colts over the Texas, over the Texans. They called have
- 52:52Speaker 1: been bad all year. You watched the Texans game, then
- 52:57Speaker 1: pushed up on some on some teams, the Cowboys that anyway,
- 53:00Speaker 1: didn't do that. Who can I guess what I think
- 53:03Speaker 1: you did? Mhm? I think you you bought into the
- 53:07Speaker 1: Iron hype and you took the Packers. Okay, idiot, listen,
- 53:09Speaker 1: here's the thing. Don't talk to me like that. I did.
- 53:14Speaker 1: I picked Packers. Did. Don't be happy I lost. After
- 53:23Speaker 1: the mics go down, we hate each other on He's like, no, idiot,
- 53:27Speaker 1: this is what I did. I picked the Packers. I mean,
- 53:30Speaker 1: I'll be I lost money on the bit. I'm like, game,
- 53:33Speaker 1: did you did you lose ten thousand dollars? No? I
- 53:35Speaker 1: didn't lose that for a hundred dollars too. By the way,
- 53:37Speaker 1: I lost it all season. That hurts and lost Like seriously, dude,
- 53:40Speaker 1: I know that ten dollars. That hurts. And so there
- 53:44Speaker 1: are three of us pick Packer three or four, so
- 53:46Speaker 1: we got got cut in half in the winners. Those
- 53:48Speaker 1: four people won like twenty three dollars hundred bucks, and
- 53:53Speaker 1: I was one quarter away from ten thousand dollars. Yeah,
- 53:56Speaker 1: that was that was bad. Packers should have won that
- 53:58Speaker 1: football game. Why did you smile so much? He was like,
- 54:02Speaker 1: like Christmas morning, like with this big beard because I knew.
- 54:07Speaker 1: I was like, hey, let me guess who you picked. Okay,
- 54:10Speaker 1: Jordan's guess it's shut. They would have picked the Colds.
- 54:17Speaker 1: Oh yeah, of course, yeah, he would have. I would
- 54:19Speaker 1: have picked the Colts plus nine, like he was exactly.
- 54:23Speaker 1: I would have taken the alternative spread of the Colds.
- 54:25Speaker 1: Shut your face. Okay, we're gonna go to you know,
- 54:30Speaker 1: be head coach. Barriodom just got the job of you know,
- 54:32Speaker 1: VI as a head football coach, and we're gonna throw
- 54:34Speaker 1: over to this interview. Look after this interviewed, he was like,
- 54:37Speaker 1: I love talking these coaches. They they're just so knowledgeable
- 54:40Speaker 1: about so much they're awesome unless your name isn't Daniel Hackett,
- 54:45Speaker 1: and then it didn't. There are exceptions, there are excep
- 54:49Speaker 1: all right, here we go coach by Hey, coach Bobby,
- 54:52Speaker 1: how you doing, buddy, Hey, good to see. Congratulations on
- 54:55Speaker 1: the I knew you were going to leave us sooner
- 54:56Speaker 1: or later. And but congratulations on the head coach. And
- 55:00Speaker 1: how's been going so far? Thanks man, It's been. It's tremendous.
- 55:03Speaker 1: I mean, obviously, the opportunities that are here in Vegas
- 55:07Speaker 1: are off the charts. The support administratively have been tremendous,
- 55:11Speaker 1: and uh, you know a lot of great things that
- 55:13Speaker 1: are gonna happen. I feel like I can ask real
- 55:15Speaker 1: dumb guy questions in an interview setting that I wouldn't
- 55:17Speaker 1: ask you in person because I don't want to seem dumb.
- 55:19Speaker 1: But you being a brilliant defensive mind, but as a
- 55:22Speaker 1: head coach, do you do you go take like offense
- 55:25Speaker 1: classes or something? How do you but how how do
- 55:27Speaker 1: you know offensively what you even want? It's amazing that
- 55:31Speaker 1: on you know, when the offenses on the field, on
- 55:34Speaker 1: the plays that we score touchdowns, I called those so
- 55:37Speaker 1: it's one that we score on. I was in charge
- 55:40Speaker 1: of that. But you always you want to find the
- 55:42Speaker 1: right fit for your for your team and your program,
- 55:44Speaker 1: but also you're looking at how to play complementary football
- 55:48Speaker 1: and then you look at Bobby. For me, I've always looked,
- 55:50Speaker 1: you know, in the position when I was a head
- 55:52Speaker 1: coach at at Missouri, I looked at you know, what
- 55:54Speaker 1: are the things that that affect me, uh, trying to
- 55:58Speaker 1: game plan? You know what what is really hard from
- 56:00Speaker 1: a defensive lens. Those are some of the things that
- 56:03Speaker 1: I want to try to incorporate on offense. So, UM,
- 56:06Speaker 1: really excited about the staff that we've been able to
- 56:08Speaker 1: put together. And you know, the thing that I've learned
- 56:11Speaker 1: you always learned from your experiences. UM, the look at
- 56:15Speaker 1: at how we've built the staff, how we've had a
- 56:18Speaker 1: chance to do that, and then how we're going to
- 56:19Speaker 1: implement offense, defense and kicking uh will give us the
- 56:23Speaker 1: best chance to be successful. So I'm sure excited about it.
- 56:26Speaker 1: I know that if you've got a chance to hire
- 56:27Speaker 1: really good people, let them do your job, do their jobs,
- 56:30Speaker 1: support them in the ways you can build them up,
- 56:32Speaker 1: and then get out of the way. Being a former
- 56:35Speaker 1: defensive player in Division one of Missouri Being a former
- 56:40Speaker 1: head coach but defensive coordinator, do you look for an
- 56:43Speaker 1: offense that maybe, like what a defensive coach get a
- 56:46Speaker 1: spread offense that runs no huddle because the defense stays
- 56:50Speaker 1: on the field a lot. You know in those with
- 56:52Speaker 1: those offenses that are quick, would you do you look
- 56:56Speaker 1: for an offense that maybe is on the field a
- 56:58Speaker 1: little more to rest the offensive guys? Since that is
- 57:01Speaker 1: your specialty. I think the number one thing is can
- 57:04Speaker 1: you can you play complimentary football? And then can they
- 57:08Speaker 1: score points? What does that look like? Do they have
- 57:10Speaker 1: the opportunity? You know, if if if you're playing with
- 57:14Speaker 1: a tempo as long, I don't care if it's a
- 57:16Speaker 1: seven second drive or a five and a half minute drive.
- 57:19Speaker 1: If it ends up in points, that will take that
- 57:21Speaker 1: every single time. So I think there's elements of how
- 57:24Speaker 1: you play the game offensively, Uh not always as fast
- 57:28Speaker 1: as you can go. There's there's times that you huddle,
- 57:30Speaker 1: there's times that you do things. But also what's the
- 57:33Speaker 1: flow of the game. I mean, how's that looking? Does
- 57:35Speaker 1: the defense need a little bit of a break or
- 57:38Speaker 1: or do we have their defense on their heels so
- 57:40Speaker 1: to speak? On how we're playing offensively. So a lot
- 57:42Speaker 1: of those things go into not only UH schematically how
- 57:46Speaker 1: you build it on offense, but also in game adjustments
- 57:50Speaker 1: and the management of what that looks like. According to
- 57:53Speaker 1: some folks that I know and trust, you know, you
- 57:55Speaker 1: have been pursued for many things over the past few years,
- 57:58Speaker 1: and you know for you to go to you and
- 58:00Speaker 1: l v UM a great get by that program. But
- 58:03Speaker 1: how does that conversation start? And it doesn't have to
- 58:05Speaker 1: be with this specific incident, but let's just say a
- 58:08Speaker 1: coordinator somewhere and in a school. Does a school go
- 58:10Speaker 1: to an agent or do you get a text from
- 58:12Speaker 1: somebody when they want to hire you? What happens? Yeah,
- 58:15Speaker 1: I think every every administration team handles it a little
- 58:19Speaker 1: bit differently. A lot of times there's there's a search
- 58:22Speaker 1: firm that handles the search in conjunction with the athletics director. UM,
- 58:27Speaker 1: there's a there's a team on campus with the administrative
- 58:31Speaker 1: team that they put together what they want the search
- 58:33Speaker 1: to look like. And then there's other times that the
- 58:36Speaker 1: athletic director is just going to reach out UH specifically
- 58:40Speaker 1: and individually. And I've you know, over the course of
- 58:43Speaker 1: the last twenty years, all three of those have been
- 58:46Speaker 1: real for me on on how it looks. Each one
- 58:49Speaker 1: is a little bit different. Um. I think that an
- 58:51Speaker 1: athletics director will will always just like I do as
- 58:54Speaker 1: a head coach. I always keep a list of who
- 58:56Speaker 1: I would like to try to hire as an offensive coordinator,
- 58:59Speaker 1: you know, same hanging on the defensive side, on every position,
- 59:02Speaker 1: because if you plan accordingly, just like we had here,
- 59:06Speaker 1: I got the job, hired it off its coordinator, and
- 59:09Speaker 1: you know, twelve days later he left and took another
- 59:12Speaker 1: job at Texas A and M. So you better be
- 59:14Speaker 1: prepared and have plan a uh, and then who's who's
- 59:17Speaker 1: available and who's ready after that to be able to
- 59:19Speaker 1: fit to your program. So I think each administrator, each
- 59:22Speaker 1: athletics director, each president UH on the administrative team they
- 59:26Speaker 1: handle it and what their comfort level is and and
- 59:28Speaker 1: I've encountered really all of them, Bobby, in the last
- 59:31Speaker 1: you know, in the last few years, whenever you moved
- 59:33Speaker 1: to the job, because again it's so much from recruiting
- 59:35Speaker 1: your own players to stay to going and trying to
- 59:37Speaker 1: recruit players to come in. When you moved, you just
- 59:39Speaker 1: go live in an apartment and your whole family just
- 59:41Speaker 1: like comes later and you find a house, what happens there,
- 59:43Speaker 1: like the real life part of that? What what an
- 59:45Speaker 1: interesting dynamic. And I'm I'm so fortunate because my life.
- 59:49Speaker 1: You know, we met in college and and we've been
- 59:52Speaker 1: married twenty two years and uh, every move that we've
- 59:56Speaker 1: made is usually it's been a positive and it's been
- 59:58Speaker 1: a good one. H But it's hard on families, it is.
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: And I've got a son, j T. That's a senior
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: in high school. I've got a son that's a sophomore
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: in high school, Garrett, it's his name. And then I've
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: got a daughter, Anna that's in the second grade. So
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: we've got about every age range you could have still
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: in school. So, uh, we're managing what that looks like.
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: My oldest son, my wife, and my daughter will stay
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: uh in northwest Arkansas and finished school, uh because he
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: wants to graduate with the senior class. And I'm excited
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: that that's going to happen. Um. And then my youngest,
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: you know, my middle son, he'll come out and start
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: living with me here in the next few weeks just
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: to get started in his new school here. UM. So
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: it's different, it's hard, it's difficult. Uh. So I've been
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: staying in a hotel. We just ended up getting a
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: short term condo that that I'll move into probably next
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: week and then in all this, uh, we'll find a
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: permanent home and and make it work. Do they give
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: you unlimited room service? Is there a like a tab
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: that can only run up to her? Can you just
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: get whatever you want? Bobby, I'm telling you, I'm walking through.
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: The place that I'm staying out now is such a
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: wonderful place. But there's there's a casino in the in
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: the lobby obviously, and I walked through every day with
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: blinders the right lights. I gotta go to work, so
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: uh there, there's there's a lot of a lot of
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: opportunity and a lot of a lot of things here
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: that uh you know that are here. I mean, there's
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: there's one Vegas in the world, and I'm so excited
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: to be here. We are. Our show is really big
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: in Vegas and all the Southwest, and it's we tore
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: through there a lot. And you know, I know why
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: I enjoy Vegas different than why most people, because you know,
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: I don't I don't drink or I don't party like that,
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: but I do like Vegas because of the atmosphere, I
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: can go do shows. I just played a show at
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: the Win pretty recently. That for me is is Vegas
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: like Eddie may Go and he likes to drink and
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: have fun and gamble. But what do you tell a
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: recruit like, what's the pitch for you and LV and
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: Las Vegas? Because it is so different than any other
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: part of the country. Yeah, there, there's everywhere that we've lived.
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: And I want to go back real quick to our
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: time that we spend in Arkansas. I mean that has
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: been for for myself working for coach Pittman and Hunter
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: your check and the way that that that program and
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: athletics department, uh was unbelievable. We loved it. I mean
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: it was It's been my favorite place that that we've
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: ever lived, and my family's the Razorback Nation was tremendous.
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: And and so every every college town is different, right.
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: The Faette bill has got their things that are selling
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: point um, you know it's at University of Memphis they
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: did as well. And then obviously being here, you you've
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: got to this city was built on opportunity and that
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: is some of the same approach that I'm taking to
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: build this football program. It's a it's a student population
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: of thirty two thousand students UH in a in a
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: wonderful market that has tremendous opportunity. So the ability to
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: compete and play for championships, We're going to do that.
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: Any goal that you have as a student athlete, we're
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: going to accomplish here as their three four to five
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: years of what that looks like. The opportunities to make
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: connections that I think is so important for me to
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: be able to do as the leader of this program.
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: I've got uh an investment for these young men that
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: I have a chance to coach for the next forty
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: years of their life. So those are all things on
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: from a true relationship part of how you build things.
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: It doesn't matter in my opinion, whether you're in Las
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: Vegas or Fayetteville or Columbia, Missouri, wherever that is. UH
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: you've got core foundations on how you're going to build
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: your program. But then you look at the opportunities that
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: are here in Las Vegas, the opportunities UH in the
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: Mountain West Conference, the opportunities that we got to step
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: in and play immediately, the opportunity to play an allegiate stadium,
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: that's one of the finest facilities in all of sport.
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: That's our that's our home. So there's so many things
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: that we are have the ability that are real. You
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: don't have to talk about, well, someday we're gonna build
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: this this facility. Um, there's things once they get here
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: that they see in in their own lembs, in their
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: own scope on how they see that they could fit here.
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: And now a message from our sponsor, the NFL Playoff
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: pictures Locked in might go to place for Wild Card

- 1:04:53Speaker 1: New York call eight seven seven eight hope and wire
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: text hope and y which is four six seven three
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: six nine. See show notes for full details. In such
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: a athlete through high school, through college and then coaching,
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: you hit a bunch of people. You got hit a bunch,
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: and you know, my athletic career not a good as yours. Obviously,
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: I just played high school ball. But I have injuries
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: that when it gets cold, it hurts again. First of all,
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: when you're living in Arkansas or Missouri in the weather
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: would turn to winter, would your body hurt like crazy?
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: Second of all, now that you're in Vegas, maybe don't
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: have to worry about that anymore. That'd be awesome. It's amazing. Um,
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: I don't feel I'm blood. I don't feel any different
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: than I did right now than when I graduated college.
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: I mean, I know I've aged. I get all that,
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: but I feel no different. I do know. Um, I'm
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: looking at my office right now and there's probably seventy
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: five palm trees and the sun's out. It's a beautiful
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: It's gonna be a beautiful day. So it's all perspective
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: on on what you look at, what you see, and
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: how you approach it. But uh, there's a great opportunity
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: here that the weather is going to be extremely nice
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: most months out of the year. You're a leader of men,
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: and you're telling these guys they need to work hard
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: to do certain things they need dedicated. Do you feel
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: that same thing about yourself, even in staying in shape
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: or looking the part, because it's hard to be a
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: leader if you don't actually do it yourself. Well, I
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: think number one, I think being a college coach it
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: probably keeps you a little bit younger than uh if
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: I weren't in this business. Also, Bobby chasing around a
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: seven year old girl, our daughter in our house has
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: kept me extremely uh young. So I think there's part
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: of that. I mean, you've got the grind if if
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: you do it the right way, the grind of the job.
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: There's a lot of hours in the day that that
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: you're working. Uh So, how do you how do you
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: maintain the ability to stay sharp and how do you
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: maintain the ability to be able to do the things
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: you need to for this job? I think, uh, all
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: of our, all of our you know, you're you're you're
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: facing things as as uh in your job. You've got
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: to stay You've got to stay fit, You've got to
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: stay active, You've got to stay in a position that,
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: uh you can sell the vision on what you want
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: that to look like and and hopefully, UM, I feel
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: this way for a long long time because I don't.
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: I feel no difference than I did when I was
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: twenty four years old. Why does he keep telling us
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: he feels great and we don't, Coach, I have the
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: same as I was it twenty two Dang, why do
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: you keep rubbing it in? Coach? I'm over here, hurt
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: and I got all these stupid injuries. I got just
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: a couple more questions for you, coach, um the final
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: two from me that I'm gonna go over to Eddie
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: and Kevin. But what have you learned in your last
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: couple of stops at Arkansas and Missouri that you take
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: into this going I'm gonna approach this slightly different because
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: I've been through different things. Yeah, I think that's really
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: that's a great question. Um. I've always been able to
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: learn from experiences. You learn from successes, you learn from setbacks,
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: you learn from the different situations that you've been And
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: there's no there's no head coaches manual that, Hey, you've
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: got this issue, turned to page seven and here's the answer. Um,
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: you learn by doing, and there's no to me, the
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: experience factor is is invaluable on UH having a chance
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: to be in the head coaching chair. Again, I think
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: number one, it all starts with the people that you've
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: got in the organization. The ability to in in every
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: day over communicate on the vision, work well together with
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: with that group, UH, to put in place how you
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: want things to go. The successes are gonna follow, but
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: there's got to be a blueprint on on how you
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: do that. The consistency of what that looks like. That
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: that's something that that I think i've as as you
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: gain experience, that's really important to me. Um. There's also
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: the ability when I became the head coach at Missouri,
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: I tried to be the defensive coordinator, the director of marketing,
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: the director of recruiting, the director of equipment operations. I
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: tried to do it all um, and you know when
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: I really probably had really good people in place, let
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: them do their job. And so those are things that
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: that you know, people won't admit when you uh end up,
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: you know, having a change of jobs you want, but
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: you do self evaluation, you lose the ego part of it,
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: and you find out what's best for this job, what's
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: best for this organization, and then you go implement it.
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: And that that's something I feel really fortunate about that
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: got really good people in the right spots, and I'm
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: at ease and a great comfort level and letting them
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: do their job. And I will support in every in
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: every way. What needs to happen with the situation with
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: the n C Double A and the players with poaching.
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: You know, I've talked to a couple of coaches on
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: this show where they talk about other goals, just calling
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: them being like, hey, I'm gonna come over here. What
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: needs to happen? Well, I think if if we really
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: wanted to change, then there's gonna have to be an
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: example made of what that looks like. And if if
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: there is tampering. If there is, then there should be
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: a penalty for it then and there is, uh you
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: know there there is a penalty, but they're better be
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: there better be action. You can't let's talk about you're
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: gonna do it and then not do it. So, um,
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: you know our game is is going to go through
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: and will continue to go through it as always. It's
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: just everything is so different now with transfer, with portal,
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: with with all those things. The education piece is really important,
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: number one, and then number two. If if a rule
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: is written and that's what it is, then we need
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: to live by it. And if not, then there needs
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: to be uh something done about it. And I would
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: imagine that the NH double WO take a hard look
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: at that and probably adjust what the rule is now
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: and it will look different three years from now on
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: the current state of college football. Yeah, definitely not the
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: one where they just canceled a program. They kill him.
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: That's what I say. That's my version of deafenitalty. All right,
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: last to Eddie, go ahead for coach out on coach.
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: I have a three year old son and he's just
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: athletically is just naturally gifted. He can do whatever. He
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: catch ball, he can catch throw the football really well,
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: catch football, ger, he dribbles the basketball. He's three years old.
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: I took him to a practice that I take my
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: other kids too, and the coach says, how does that
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: boy he's three years old? Oh my gosh. We need
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: to get him in practice now. We need to get
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: this working on this kid now. So my question for
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: you is how early do you seeing like, hey, this
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: kid has hands? Like I need to write this down.
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: Do you have a list that you keep track of
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: of Like I saw a kid back in you know,
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: five years ago. I'm gonna keep my eye on him.
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: But what's your son's name? Let's talk after a coach.
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: I want to I want to offer him a scholarship.
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: We gotta get out on a visit. I think you know,
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: the world of recruiting has has changed, and it's this
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: it's in fast forward on on what it was a
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: few years ago. But you're always evaluating. Um, I'm not
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: saying I'm evaluating a three year old, but but you
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: you come across and it's all still built around the
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: relationship to I have somebody that that I went to
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: high school with, or somebody that you coached with years
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: ago that I saw someone at an AU tournament basketball tournament.
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: They passed on the name. So you're always compiling list,
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: you're trying to evaluate and your look at at at
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: from an early age. Uh. You know, one thing I
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: do want to say with that though, UM, Bobby and
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: Eddie is you know I will we could get back
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: a little bit two kids in high school playing multiple sports,
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: because that's so important. I mean the sports specialization at
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: an early age. I think that takes away from athletic development.
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: I think it takes away from some of the things
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: that that kids only get a short window of time
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: on on being able to participate in. Um. You know,
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: we don't have to play baseball, Um, twelve months out
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: of the year. You don't have to be a quarterback
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: training quarterback. You know that you don't have to be
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: in a twelve month training There's parts of that that
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: are important. But also, uh, there's value and being a
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: multi sport guy. Kevin final question coach, Yeah, hey, coach,
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: I've always wondered a new coach going into a program
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: and taking a team guys full of scholarships, walk on
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: whatever it is, and you need to come in and evaluate. Okay,
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: are we gonna keep some guys, let some guys go whatever.
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: Maybe I almost imagine it like making cuts in the NFL.
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: And I always wonder what that process is like for
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: you coming into a new program. Hey, do you watch
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: a bunch of film on guys individually team wise? And
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: then what does conversation sasons are like with those guys
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: or the team? Yeah, my number one, and every coach
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: handles it differently. Mine for for me in this program,
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: I challenged the team on the first team meeting that
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: I had, I wanted everybody in the room. Okay, I
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: wanted everybody in that room to be here when we
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: start back in January. I think that's important. They are
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: the core of what we're building. Um, we'll get into
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: offseason conditioning, we'll get into spring practice, we'll get in
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: the summer conditioning. There will be some attrition that happens
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: across the board in college football. But but I want
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: all those guys that are here, they've committed to two
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: U N O V. I want them to be part
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: of this. And I also told them if if they will,
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: if they'll stick with it, and they'll they'll do the
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: things that we're talking about doing, it will be the
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: most rewarding experience that they've ever had athletically. And that's
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: important for me there here that I'm there, coach. Now
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: I chose them. I want them to stay with us
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: in this program. Coach, appreciate you. We're on a Vegas
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: a lot. I'm gonna come. I assume I can come
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: and work out. I'm was looking for a gym. I'm
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: assuming I can come and work on the facility because
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: since I know a guy, right, you know a guy,
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: I'll give you the keys. I'll give you the place
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: you call the first playing the game. Don't care. We're
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: gonna come, coach. I'm gonna come out. I'm gonna go
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: to a game. I'm rooting for you, man. I am
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: just a massive fan of you and how you run
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: operations and just rooting for UNLB next season. And we
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: have a route. We have room here for another helmet.
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: If you gonna get your helmet. What version you want?
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: You want Scarlett, you want great, you want white, whatever
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: one you want featured, because millions of people watch these
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: videos every month, so the version you think looks the
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: best always reaching about. Okay, that's a yeah, that's a
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: pretty sick. We'll put it up here. Coach. Hey, look,
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: as a guy, I love you, rooting for you as
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: a coach. We will be following you all year long
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: next year, coach, So good luck and I know you've
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: got a big task ahead of you. Awesome. Thanks much
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: respect for you, man, Thanks coach, see you later. I
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: do was coach on him. Awesome. Now my question for you,
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: did he ask for a mailing address to send us
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: a helmet or no? He did not. Oh, it's one
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: of those we should hang out. We should hang out sometimes.
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: Never exchange the number. I want you go to dinner sometime. Yeah,
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: me when you're in town. Ok. So it's like, you know,
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: he sees the razorback helmet and like, hey, look at that.
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: I'm like, well, if you want to send us one
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: of yours, and he grabs it. You didn't see it.
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: Jordany grabs it and says this is the one, the
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: scarlet one. And then I was like, okay, cool, and
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: then we finished the interview. Is all good. I just
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: probably put it back up there and for and they
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: never thought about it again. He was like, well that
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: that shows baby, alright, final final deal here? Uh in thoughts, which,
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: by the way, Jordan, thanks again for coming in. May
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: I really appreciate it. We love you here. Yeah, I
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: mean it's not charity, but you're better than we are.
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: I'm just gonna keep just gonna keep showing up. Guess
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: this is what happened. Usually on Thursdays, Jordan is probably
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: going off to do a show or something, and so
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: I hit him up and said, we're gonna work on Monday.
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: You want to come to the show And he was
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: were you out of town? Are you hunting? Yeah? And
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: so he couldn't. So I told Mike let Jordan if
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: he wants to come in, and then Mike did say, yeah,
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: Jordan will be in. But I was like twenty minutes
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: behind day on getting the show done. And then Jordan
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: walked in and I was like, I wouldn't have made
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: the superstar wait, like Kevin and Adam and Eddie who cares.
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: I was able to read up on some more stats
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: and I was like this is this is good? Um okay,
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: So in thoughts, Jordan, I'll start with you, do you
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: have any thought about everything we've talked about or going
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: into the week, Like what do you want to leave
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: us with? Here? Um? I would say I'm not talking
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: about the Jags again because I'm really writing a lot
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: on that game. Uh, I'll say this, I think the
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: Vikings game is not going to be closed. I think
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: the Vikings hand oppon the Jets, I mean the Giants.
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: I would say that game ends up being a two
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: touchdown game, all right, and if not, we can laugh
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: at him. Well, we will say we would have given
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: him ten and then we will laugh at him. Yes,
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: then we will laughing. Yes. Yeah, that's my that's my
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: in thought. I think that's gonna be the biggest I
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: think that's gonna be the biggest um disappointing game of
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: the weekend, biggest spread there. How do you feel about
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: LSU next? I think we're gonna win the national championship.
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: But I think that that's not that crazy. Good answer,
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: But I do think it's not that crazy. Yeah, I
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: think we're gonna have a good team. It be George
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: is gonna be tough, and they have a week week
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: week schedule. Yeah, you guys are gonna be good. And
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: I hate that so much. I still o Jordan and
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: he's been gone, he's been in Arkansas. And our deal, well,
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: I have our date that I have, I have the date.
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: I was gonna see if we could do it. That
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: sounds like he wants that. Yeah, yeah, man, I don't
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: know what. I don't neither Edie. Okay, So me and Kevin,
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, we're idiots. So it's Kevin's idea, not mine.
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: But what I think it's smart. But go ahead, he says,
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: he said together, we're making a bet. And he says
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: that if the Bucks beat the Cowboys, I have to
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: wear a Tom Brady jersey. Okay, I'm not I hate
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: to don't feel good. Okay, but what's the other one?
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: He wears my Deck jersey? Yeah, so losers just has
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: to work. It's like, you guys are the two mayors
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: of a small town in Florida and Texas. Who cares? Yeah,
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: my day bout I'm gonna look so weird and nobody nobody, No,
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: you're not. Nobody kind of feel weird. Yeah, I'm gonna
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: hate myself all day though. Right, It's like, oh, can
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: you believe that bet that mayor bet ribs? He've had
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: a bunch of ribs versus the pork from this other
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: It's like, no, literally, nobody cares. Is this a Pat's
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: jersey or books. He doesn't have a buck. Okay, Eddie,
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: thank you for hearing time. Man, Kevin, that was it.
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: It could be original, Kevin. Guys a kid, Adam. I'm
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: just petty enough to love how Levey Smith got the
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: last laugh the other day, costing the Texans the number
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: one overall pick, getting that late touchdown. You want to
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: fire me, No big deal, you don't get breast. You
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: getta lost that. But that's a week that one. Really
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: seeing him get fired really hurt that. That teems terrible
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: to I hope the Texans organizations listen to this. Your
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: team's terrible. It's not Lovely Smith's fault. It's absolutely not
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: Lovely Lovely Smith's fault. And also they fought for that, dude,
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: he was he did, they played, they didn't win. They
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: didn't win the games. And that's the way when, like
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: you said, that's why the NFL is, it's on the coach, guys,
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: it's not it's not a good roster. And he I
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: would I would argue that he over that he over
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: achieved in spots with the roster that he had. He
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: kept them in some games that I did not think
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: they were going to be in. He didn't have the
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: roster to compete, and I think they knew he was
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: a one year deal. Yeah, I think he knew he
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: was a one year deal later in the season that
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: he wasn't gonna be able to earn that position and
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: hilarious except I own the Cold in my terrible league
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: and it lost me money. I'm downs and Jordan picked
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: the Cold, but he thought it was funnier when I
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: picked the Packers and lost the money. So to know
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: that you would also lost your money is pretty good.
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: At least. I wasn't like I really thought. I was
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: confident that, well, we were gonna give you ten thousand
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: dollarge if you get it right now. Yes, man, We
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: talked about it because here's my final thought. Having old Bronco.
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: It's um seventy one and it's awesome and for a
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: long time. Once we got it fixed up, because it
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: does look so cool, and we got it fixed up,
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: we found all the old, cool, original parts, and um,
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: I was like, I just want to keep this thing
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: pure and be loyal. I hate I hate cars. I
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: don't want I don't care aboutkeeping a pure So I
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: sent it back into the shop and I was like,
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: change all the crap out I don't care, and make
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: it so easy to drive. I don't. So they're changing
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: out some of the gearing, not the mutic radio. It's
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: all gonna come back and it's gonna look like a Broncho.
- 1:20:29Speaker 1: But I'm not gonna be able to drive it on
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: the interstate now and go seventy. You don't think I'm
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: gonna die. And I know some of the people because
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: this Bronco is really cool, and there are people that
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: just follow me to post pictures of Broncho, which I
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: almost never do. The big Bronco fans, they're gonna light
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: me up and go, I can't believe you ruined a
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: good Bronco. I can't believe you follow Somebody posts one
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: Bronco picture a year for the way waiting with that
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: one picture, And so that's what I'm doing. I don't
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: feel bad about it, and it is what it is,
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: and if it doesn't sell back for whatever price, that's okay.
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: I didn't get it for any sort of investment. It's
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: just a cool old Bronco that I'm now maybe gonna
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: be able to drive into work. You're not buying like
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: an old car to like I want to feel what
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: it feels like like driving in the forties. Like, No,
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: you're driving it because it looks cool. You like it,
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: and who cares you put it brand new motor in that. Yeah,
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: I think it's awesome to have new motor to full
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: new just awesome, dude. And I'm taking it from standard automatic. Yeah,
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: because you don't like that, No, I do. I'm a
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: standard guy. You know that. That's why. I mean, I
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: get it. But easy to me is better. Dude. You're
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: gonna have like great a c in it. Are you
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: doing like power everything? That's awesome? Yeah, I basically I
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: basically just put the panels on a hunday. Hey, if
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: you do a rear a rear camera, you've gone too
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: far the bup. Thank you guys for listening. Thanks to
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: Coach out On for coming on. Follow us at Whistles,

- 1:22:11Speaker 1: will do on Monday show, but probably on Tuesday and
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: um Jordan's special Gwen bloss Oh I cancel What did
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: you say? What did you say? Office joke? You know
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: what I said. I didn't hear what that's what she said.
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: Did you say that? Though? I think I maybe, But
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: what I wanted to say there was that's what she's cold. Okay,
