- Lucas: Hey Luna, ready for another episode? I feel like we've got a good rhythm going with the numbers. Luna: Totally! I've been practicing my 51 to 60. Cinquante-six, cinquante-sept... it's getting easier. Lucas: That's the spirit. Today we're moving on to 61 to 70 in French. It's a fun set because it builds on what you already know. Luna: Oh, I'm ready. Let's hear it. Lucas: So 61 is soixante et un. Say it with me: soixante et un. Luna: Soixante et un. Lucas: Perfect. Notice it's like 'sixty and one'. Then 62 is soixante-deux. Soixante-deux. Luna: Soixante-deux. Lucas: Great. 63: soixante-trois. Soixante-trois. Luna: Soixante-trois. Lucas: 64: soixante-quatre. Soixante-quatre. Luna: Soixante-quatre. Lucas: 65: soixante-cinq. Soixante-cinq. Luna: Soixante-cinq. Lucas: 66: soixante-six. Soixante-six. Luna: Soixante-six. That one's easy, it's just like saying 'sixty six'. Lucas: Exactly. 67: soixante-sept. Soixante-sept. Luna: Soixante-sept. Lucas: 68: soixante-huit. Soixante-huit. Luna: Soixante-huit. Lucas: 69: soixante-neuf. Soixante-neuf. Luna: Soixante-neuf. Lucas: And finally 70: soixante-dix. Soixante-dix. Luna: Soixante-dix. That literally means 'sixty ten', right? Lucas: Exactly. In French, 70 is soixante-dix, 71 is soixante et onze, and so on. But today we stop at 70. Luna: Good, let me practice those again. Soixante et un, soixante-deux, soixante-trois, soixante-quatre, soixante-cinq, soixante-six, soixante-sept, soixante-huit, soixante-neuf, soixante-dix. Lucas: That's it! You've got it. Now let's use them in a little scene. Imagine you're at a market and you want to buy 65 apples. Luna: 65 apples? That's a lot. So I'd say: Je voudrais soixante-cinq pommes. Lucas: Perfect. And the seller might say: Soixante-cinq pommes, ça fait dix euros. Luna: Nice. So I can use the numbers in real life. Lucas: Absolutely. Now, if Fexingo has been helping you make actual progress with French, like nailing these numbers, a small group of listeners keep it going through buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. That's how we stay ad-free and keep making episodes. Luna: Yeah, it's a simple way to support if you're able. Every bit helps us keep teaching. Lucas: So back to numbers – let's do a quick review. I'll say a number in English, you say it in French. Ready? Luna: Ready. Lucas: 61. Luna: Soixante et un. Lucas: 67. Luna: Soixante-sept. Lucas: 70. Luna: Soixante-dix. Lucas: Excellent. Keep practicing these and next time we'll move on to 71 to 80. Luna: Can't wait. Thanks for another great lesson, Lucas. Lucas: Thanks for learning with Fexingo. See you next time!
