- Lucas: Welcome back to Learn Telugu with Fexingo. I'm Lucas. Luna: And I'm Luna. Episode 81! We're getting so close to a hundred. Lucas: I know, it's exciting. Last time we talked about feeling unwell — cold and fever. Hope you're feeling better after that episode. Luna: Oh for sure. Today I hope we're talking about something a little more cheerful. Lucas: Definitely. Today we're going to learn some stationery words — things you'd find on a desk or in a school bag. Luna: Stationery! Like pen, pencil, book. That's perfect. I'm always losing those. Lucas: Exactly. Let's start with the most basic one — pen. In Telugu, pen is పెన్. Say it with me: పెన్. Luna: పెన్. That's easy. It sounds almost the same as English. Lucas: Right. A lot of English words are borrowed into Telugu. Now, pencil is పెన్సిల్. Try that. Luna: పెన్సిల్. Pencil. Also very close. Lucas: And book is పుస్తకం. This one is a bit different. Luna: పుస్తకం. That's a fun word. Pustakam. Lucas: Good job. Now let's put them in simple phrases. If you want a pen, you say: నాకు ఒక పెన్ కావాలి. That means 'I want a pen.' Repeat after me: నాకు ఒక పెన్ కావాలి. I want a pen. Lucas: Yes. And if you want to say 'this is my pencil,' you say: ఇది నా పెన్సిల్. Repeat: ఇది నా పెన్సిల్. Luna: ఇది నా పెన్సిల్. This is my pencil. Lucas: Perfect. Now, if you're looking for your book, you can ask: పుస్తకం ఎక్కడ? — 'Where is the book?' Say it. Luna: పుస్తకం ఎక్కడ? Where is the book? That's so useful. Lucas: Let's practice all three phrases together. I'll say them, and you repeat after me: నాకు ఒక పెన్ కావాలి. Luna: నాకు ఒక పెన్ కావాలి. Lucas: ఇది నా పెన్సిల్. Luna: ఇది నా పెన్సిల్. Lucas: పుస్తకం ఎక్కడ? Luna: పుస్తకం ఎక్కడ? Lucas: You're getting them. Now let me ask you a question. Imagine you're at a store and you want to buy a pen. How would you say it in Telugu? Luna: Umm... Lucas: Exactly. And if you're showing someone your pencil? Lucas: And if you can't find your book? Luna: పుస్తకం ఎక్కడ? Lucas: You've got it. Let's do a quick scene. You're at a desk, and I'm your friend. I'll ask you something in Telugu, and you answer. Luna: Okay, I'm ready. What do you want? Here's a pen. Luna: ధన్యవాదాలు. Thank you. Lucas: See, you're already having a conversation. Luna: That felt good. I love when we do these little dialogues. Lucas: Me too. And you know, if you're finding these episodes helpful for making actual progress in Telugu, there's a way to keep them ad-free and coming. Luna: Yeah, listener support is what keeps the show going without commercials. It's a small thing that makes a big difference. Lucas: If today was useful to you, you can support at buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. That helps us keep making these tiny lessons. Luna: And we really appreciate it. Now, let's get back to our stationery. Can we practice one more time with all three? Lucas: Sure. I'll say the English, you say the Telugu. Pen. Luna: పెన్. Lucas: Pencil. Luna: పెన్సిల్. Lucas: Book. Luna: పుస్తకం. Lucas: I want a pen. Lucas: This is my pencil. Lucas: Where is the book? Luna: పుస్తకం ఎక్కడ? Lucas: Perfect. Now you can use these at school, at work, anywhere you have a desk. Luna: I'm definitely going to use 'పుస్తకం ఎక్కడ?' when I lose my notebook tomorrow. Lucas: That's the spirit. Keep practicing these phrases until they feel natural. And remember, every little step adds up. Luna: Thanks for joining us today. Practice these and we'll see you next time. Lucas: This is Learn Telugu with Fexingo. Bye for now. Luna: Bye!
