- 0:08[SPEAKER_01]: Now here's your host.
- 0:10[SPEAKER_00]: Out!
- 0:13[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome, this is a special edition, a special national championship edition of OnlyFans Q&A Live.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_01]: Although we're not an OnlyFans and we're not live, this is gonna be recorded.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, so I'm essentially starting to show by telling you, yeah, this is like a total fraud, this is recorded, you're not watching this live on YouTube right now, okay?
- 0:35[SPEAKER_01]: But you will get this on our feed.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_01]: as a bonus for the week.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_01]: We have a bunch of shows this week.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_01]: We have a draft show that's going to be exclusive to this game on Monday night.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to be talking about the Miami hurricanes draft guys.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_01]: By the way, Donald, any idea how many guys are guys, meaning me, Simon Chris, think the hurricanes are going to get drafted in April from this draft
- 1:07[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's going to be a good draft place.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_01]: You know the first two, you know the first two, right?
- 1:13[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, Bane, Maui, Noah.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_01]: And then, uh, like he measured those three.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, I was going to say, measured or probably the third, you know, say, Scott should be drafted.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, Jacobi Thomas.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_02]: I would think would be drafted.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_02]: Um, trying to think who else?
- 1:30[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, I mean, I.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_01]: That's Cooper.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_01]: Mark L. Bell.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, I forgot about it.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_02]: I forgot to make it.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_02]: And what about Mark L. Bell?
- 1:37[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I hope he stays in school.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_01]: But, you know, it's a weird thing right with him, right?
- 1:43[SPEAKER_01]: Like, what's that about?
- 1:45[SPEAKER_01]: Because he had two years of Juco.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_01]: I had tried to somebody try to explain to me the rules on how Mark L. Bell can stay.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, I don't get it.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_02]: Well, they give you like a Juco like freebie, I think.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_02]: Like it doesn't count against regular eligibility anymore.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_02]: I have a hard time keeping track of it, but I'm sure I'm butchering like the exact rule or circumstance, but I know if you play in JuCo, it doesn't count against your regular eligibility for FBS or FCS, so it's like the JuCo's like a Mulligan now.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_01]: Hmm.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_01]: That's nice.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_01]: That's nice.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_01]: That's nice that you can do that.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_01]: Let's let's start here.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_01]: Last night I was watching I'm not going to say who it was because it's a competitor of yours and they were having like, you know, some super chat people asking questions about this game and I was interested to hear what these people had to say and nine out of ten questions.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_01]: were about the transfer portal, and at least with to this because in what we do, people love transactions, man.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_01]: They just love transactions.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_01]: And I got a kick out of one guy who sent one in that said,
- 3:07[SPEAKER_01]: Mario Christabel, what is he doing?
- 3:10[SPEAKER_01]: He, we're completely cooked.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_01]: And the host said, what he's doing is preparing for the National Championship at home on Monday, I'm going to answer him.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_01]: So are we cooked because they're, and we're just going to do, I promise you people, we're only going to do two minutes of transfer talk.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, transfer portal talk.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_01]: Are we cooked because their solution was,
- 3:34[SPEAKER_01]: To go and find DJ lagway wherever the hell he is, I think he's in Baylor and try to get him to decommet from Baylor to join the Miami hurricanes.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_01]: Your thoughts on that whole situation.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I mean, listen, um, it's, and I understand the whole transaction thing because I actually, and some people didn't like it, but I did spend on my show on Wednesday, uh, the first segment I spent talking about Quarterbacks in the transfer portal, um, you know, I've spent most of my time talking about the actual Indiana game, and I guarantee you Mario crystal ball spends 99.9% of his time.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_02]: thing about the Indiana game, but I get it.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_02]: Like people are curious about the transaction thing.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, as far as like, is Miami cooked?
- 4:18[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I guess like in terms of bringing in a high level transfer for the 20, 20, six season, I guess you could say they're cooked because, you know, Ty Simpson was
- 4:30[SPEAKER_02]: Not interested in playing another year of college and I kind of get it because I mean you may know better than me, but it sounds like he's getting first round feedback for the draft and it's like if you think you're going to be a first rounder I get it you you want to go like that wasn't the case for Carson back last year.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_02]: It wasn't the case for Cam Ward the year before.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_02]: So they came to Miami to raise their stock.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_02]: Miami already missed out on Sam Levitt because Lane Kiffin has signed half of the quarterbacks that were in the portal.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_02]: He is signed a bunch of him, including Levitt.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_02]: Miami missed early on.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_02]: Brennan source be but like the problem was that was during the time right between the Ohio State and the Ole Miss game and there was only a week between those games and like Miami basically said like we'd love to bring you in for visitors you just got to wait till the after the Ole Miss game
- 5:19[SPEAKER_02]: He didn't want to wait.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_02]: And so like I don't like the DJ lagway idea.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not I'm not into that.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_02]: I think if you're gonna if you're thinking about bringing in DJ lagway I say to me and it this was not the top priority, but you know my my priority would have been to bring in a guy like the names I mentioned that Miami mist on but
- 5:39[SPEAKER_02]: before I would bring in DJ lagway I'd say hey this wasn't the ideal situation but I would at this point just let Emory Williams loop nickel Judd Anderson and incoming freshman dairy on Coleman let them compete for the job and
- 5:56[SPEAKER_02]: deal with what you have in the room.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_02]: Now, again, there's a reason why they wanted to have another experience quarterback, but at the same time, I think the floor is pretty high for Miami's team next year at every other position.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_02]: You should still have really lofty expectations for 2026, even if you have an inexperienced quarterback.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_02]: So at this point, I'm okay with writing with what you have in the room.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm not one of these people that it's a, you know, a or else type of guy, although I did say when the ACC this year or else, right, right, right, I'll take this if I'm way around that they sure committed the ACC.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_01]: I'll take this run instead, right.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, instead of that night in Charlotte, or I'll take this, okay?
- 6:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, me too.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_01]: But next year, I kind of expect this team, even as currently constituted, even with Emory Williams as the starting quarterback, to probably win the ACC.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_01]: You know, so I don't think that they're necessarily in a terrible spot.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_01]: Going into next year.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_02]: No, and an interesting thing I'll say real quick like that there was there was a little bit of a buzz that like an obvious buzz that Emory Williams might you know leave but at I if they don't get somebody else.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think he would leave because he you know Obviously it had they landed Sam Levitt or Ty Simpson.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_02]: I could completely understand Emory
- 7:19[SPEAKER_02]: going somewhere else because he wants to play, but I mean, if he gets the opportunity in Miami, he's been in this offense for three years, like he's been three years with Shannon Dawson.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_02]: So now, and he would have the leg up in the competition because of his experience.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_02]: So I don't see him leaving assuming Miami doesn't get somebody else.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_01]: All right, now moving on to this game and the ticket situation and we're going to get all this out of the way before on the second half of the show.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to talk about the actual game and what you can look for come Monday night.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_01]: I have, I know somebody from the corporate world that owns a block of four seats club seats for this game.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_01]: They were granted the seats.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_01]: So they have them for this game, and they will be in those seats for this game.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_01]: Those seats are somewhere around the 30 yard line.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_01]: You want to take a guess what a ticket broker offered them for those four club seats on the 30 yard line.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_01]: By the way, they can't sell them.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_01]: It's in their contract.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, okay.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_01]: They can't sell them, but they were offered this money.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_01]: And they showed me the email.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_01]: What do you think that they were offered for those four seats by a ticket broker?
- 8:34[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to guess about 20 grand per seed.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_01]: You pretty much got it.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_01]: It was $105,000 for the fourth seed.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_02]: So even more like 25 grand per seed.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_01]: What is going on with these ticket prices?
- 8:50[SPEAKER_01]: Is it really just this Indiana fan base, which is a pretty large fan base, and huge alumni base, rich alumni base?
- 9:00[SPEAKER_01]: Are they really just, are they're the ones who are driving up these prices?
- 9:06[SPEAKER_01]: I hope I can over run in our stadium.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I don't know if I have another great explanation for it outside of, I don't think it's all Indiana fans.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, they're going to have a good amount of people.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_02]: You mentioned, they have got the largest living alumni base of any American institution, 90,000 currently enrolled there.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_02]: So I can only imagine how many alumni they have,
- 9:32[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's a combination of all things.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, Miami is an expensive city.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_02]: It's an event town.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_02]: So I think it's kind of the perfect storm where you have.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_02]: And also, I'm going to give Miami some credit as well, because I know the local appetite for this game is very high.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, for, you know,
- 9:50[SPEAKER_02]: the real Miami fans, even the bandwagon, Miami fans have been waiting for a big game like this.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_02]: So I think that there is some Miami behind driving the ticket prices as high as they are.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_02]: And it would be two sensational stories, right, with both of these teams being here.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_02]: And you know, maybe the people who live in Miami who are Miami haters, you know, the Gator fans and the semifinals fans, they're going to adopt
- 10:16[SPEAKER_02]: Mendoza you know if the Miami kid there that that's gonna be their reason to go to the game and root against Miami and root for the the hometown Kid returning, but yeah, I I don't know what else it could be and I know there's a lot of frustration out there
- 10:29[SPEAKER_02]: because, um, you know, there's, there's a bunch of Miami season ticket holders, some friends of mine, uh, who, you know, we have been trying to get tickets.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_02]: I know the people who requested them, you know, at face value that can early December.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_02]: I think most of those requests were granted, but then the people who jumped into a queue this week on Tuesday.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_02]: Expecting to be able to get tickets there weren't many left and they waited in a queue for a couple of hours Only to come up empty a lot of them are very frustrated, but this is this is a really really hot Ticket and I don't I don't know exactly why this is so much hotter than like previous national title games because This is like a super bowl like you look at the prices like when you when you you look at paying $3,000 for nosebleeds and paying 25 grand for club seats like those are super bowl prices not national championship prices
- 11:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I went to the 91 National Championship and and I remember being at the the McCarthy tent and and all that stuff and I don't really remember what I paid for the tickets, but I've seen the ticket and what it said face value and it said $125.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_02]: I I paid that in 2004 when I just just because it was local, I went to the USC Oklahoma game, National Championship game at that stadium and I paid 120 bucks for a ticket and me and a friend of mine went for you were sitting in the 300 so they're decent seats, not great seats, we've paid 120 bucks each.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and it was interesting was that for the festival, standing room only, if you were willing to take a chance, grab a plane, got to Arizona, and just walk into the building, standing room only was 50 bucks for that game against Ole Miss.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, this is going to be interesting.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_01]: What I find most interesting is the tailgate situation because I got the bright idea, you know what?
- 12:24[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just going to tailgate.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna go out there and tailgate and watch the game from the parking lot.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_01]: You can't do that now anymore.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_01]: You got to show a bonafide ticket to be able to get into the parking lot.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_01]: And if you want a park, it's $775 to park in the orange a lot, where I usually park for games games.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_01]: So, man, this is it's gonna be something.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_01]: And I guess we'll finish here before we go to break.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_01]: What do you make of the national media narrative so far?
- 12:58[SPEAKER_01]: Nobody's picking Miami.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_01]: And nobody's daring to pick Miami.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_01]: It's almost as if, look, Steven A Smith has been watching college football for about 45 minutes.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_01]: And he was told that you could tell when he's saying Mark Fletcher and then boys.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, all right, and it's like Stephen, when you got to do his Ruben Bain and then boys, right?
- 13:22[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to be the number one, the top defense of player taken in this coming draft.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_01]: So go with that one instead.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_01]: When you hear people saying, is this going to be a game?
- 13:33[SPEAKER_01]: Is there going to be any entertainment factor here for this game?
- 13:38[SPEAKER_01]: And they start bringing out.
- 13:39[SPEAKER_01]: And I got to understand and I got to make clear to people.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_01]: Everybody keeps saying, oh, these games always go one way or the other.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_01]: It's either a really close game and the inner dog wins.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_01]: Or it's a complete total blowout.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_01]: You got to understand, we haven't been doing this for a thousand years.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_01]: We've only been doing this playoff format.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_01]: this real playoff format for a couple of years.
- 14:00[SPEAKER_01]: So it's completely different what you're gonna get.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_01]: So there is no history here to rely on, but what do you make of the national narrative about this game?
- 14:12[SPEAKER_01]: Cause literally when you say, nobody's given us a chance?
- 14:16[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, really, this time.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_01]: Nobody is giving us a chance.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_02]: There's a lot of lazy analysis
- 14:24[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I respect certain things that he does, but Steven A Smith is the last place I would go for college football takes as you outline like a lot of like you know ESPN does have like their niche of like specific college football people that I don't think have enough of a presence on the network.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_02]: But like there are certain people on ESPN that provide reasonable analysis, but a lot of like the mainstream people, you know, PTI first take like it's it's garbage garbage analysis like they they focus so much on the NFL and the NBA and even a lot of their takes on that stuff aren't great as we know, but at least like it comes through a place of being somewhat informed.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_02]: And yeah, there's, and not just to pick on ESPN because yeah, from a lot of the national talking heads, like the, basically the, the depth of the analysis is, you know, one team has blown out their CFP opponents by 30 plus.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_02]: The other team is played in close games.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_02]: One team as a high-spin winner, the other doesn't.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_02]: People still don't believe in Carson back that, you know, those old narratives die hard.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_02]: So it's like,
- 15:30[SPEAKER_02]: They weigh those factors and then the math computes in their minds, too.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_02]: Well, Indiana's going to win by about 40, 50, 60 points like that.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_02]: That's the extent of analysis you get from people.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_02]: But it's like, man, I do appreciate the analysis that I, because I dig pretty deep for my college football analysis and not to say that these people aren't popular.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_02]: But they're not, you know, just the standard talking heads.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_02]: But, you know, I thought Josh Pate from on three.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_02]: had had a good breakdown and he's actually picking Miami to win outright which is rare like he's a maverick on that you know like JD pickell from on three crane and company from I think they're with on three now as well and serious xm like do actual detailed you know knowledgeable break downs because they watch every game and they break it down and like you can tell like the actual
- 16:19[SPEAKER_02]: educated ball-knowers to use that popular phrase are you know a lot of more picking Indiana and that's fine like as long as you have an informed take on it but i think most of the people who really understand what my amy is about uh and the way my amy can disrupt opposing quarterbacks which i'm sure we'll talk about after the break but a lot of the people who actually like understand what my amy brings to the table even if they're picking Indiana they're picking probably close games they're probably picking my
- 16:49[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, they understand that this is not likely not going to be a runaway for the Indiana Hoosiers.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_02]: So like you can find good analysis at certain places, but you have to dig a little deeper than Steven A Smith defined it.
- 17:01[SPEAKER_02]: Because a lot of the lazy takes are, yeah, Indiana, they beat everybody by 30s.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_02]: They'll probably win this one by 30.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like there's a lot more to it than that.
- 17:11[SPEAKER_01]: If I hear about the SMU game one more time or the Louisville game one more time like this is not the same team Okay, it's a completely different team from from back then We're gonna go to break it when we come back.
- 17:22[SPEAKER_01]: We're gonna talk about the actual game and what you have to look for Especially on early downs.
- 17:28[SPEAKER_01]: That's a sneak preview
- 17:30[SPEAKER_01]: But first, let me tell you about factor.

- 21:38[SPEAKER_01]: watching the, you know, I've been watching a lot about a lot from this, any and who's is defense and, you know, they're defensive coordinator, Brian Haynes is like, he's going to be the next big thing.
- 21:49[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 21:49[SPEAKER_01]: We already saw Jesse mentor.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_01]: He's already a head coach in Canada and he's only been around for a year.
- 21:58[SPEAKER_01]: So Jesse Mentor is probably going to be a head coach in this league soon.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe the Miami Dolphins head coach.
- 22:04[SPEAKER_01]: So Miami Dolphins are going to interview him.
- 22:07[SPEAKER_01]: Brian Haynes is next, okay?
- 22:10[SPEAKER_01]: When you watch this defense, I don't, you know, look, Camara is obviously a draft pick.
- 22:16[SPEAKER_01]: He's a day-to-guide.
- 22:19[SPEAKER_01]: They have talent, but this is nowhere near the talent that Ohio State have.
- 22:24[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_01]: When you watch Ohio State play, RVL Reese is a first rompick.
- 22:29[SPEAKER_01]: Caleb Downs is a first rompick.
- 22:32[SPEAKER_01]: Sunning styles will be a first rompick.
- 22:34[SPEAKER_01]: They're absolutely loaded across the board.
- 22:38[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, that's not them.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_01]: Indiana is just smart and they seem to be
- 22:46[SPEAKER_01]: guessing right, essentially on early doubts, is it really going to be a coin flip, don't know, them calling run blitzes, us running into the right hole, we run into the wrong hole, it's second and 12.
- 23:02[SPEAKER_01]: We run into the right hole, it's second, maybe it's first and 10 again, but maybe it's second and two.
- 23:09[SPEAKER_01]: Is it going to be as simple as that?
- 23:11[SPEAKER_01]: Because it's essentially brains versus brawn in this game and we're the brawn.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I think in some ways, it's going to be as simple as that, but real quick, I'll go back to what you said about guessing right a lot, like on early downs, you know, everybody saw the way that they started the game against Oregon with the pick six on the very first play, they have intercepted passes on opponents opening drives five times this year, which is I don't know if that's ever happened before a team to have that many.
- 23:42[SPEAKER_02]: opening drive i and t's and so yeah they they are very well prepared and very well coached and you know you mentioned stopping the run and run blitz is you know Indiana comes out of this game second nationally giving up only 75 rushing yards per game but when you talk about brains versus
- 24:01[SPEAKER_02]: Um, you know, we've said this before and we've been right about it before when when opposing teams have been like, well, yeah, you guys think you're so great at the line of scrimmage, but we're going to match up, right?
- 24:12[SPEAKER_02]: You had the Texas say an M offensive line and like, oh, yeah, Ruben Baines not a threat.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to handle him.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_02]: We heard a lot of the same stuff from Ohio State and those are teams.
- 24:21[SPEAKER_02]: A&M and Ohio State on paper really good line of scrimmage teams.
- 24:25[SPEAKER_02]: And we're hearing some of that from Indiana as well, but I
- 24:28[SPEAKER_02]: The bottom line to me, and we know Miami's offensive line is not only really big, but they're also athletic, and they're also very well coached.
- 24:37[SPEAKER_02]: Miami's O line averages about 332 pounds, and Indiana's defensive line averages about 208 pounds, like they are effective, but they are very small.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_02]: And so I think that's an area.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_02]: where Miami can have a physical advantage.
- 24:55[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, the other thing, Mark Fletcher, who's gonna be the primary guy running behind that offensive line, I'm sure Marty Brown will get some looks as well and maybe Gerard Pringle gets sprinkled in.
- 25:06[SPEAKER_02]: But, Fletcher has been playing the best football of his career these past three games.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, somebody who's really, really turned it up in the playoffs and
- 25:16[SPEAKER_02]: You know, the kind of the instincts that he's shown when it comes to making the right cuts and hitting the proper holes, it's been a lot more consistent in the playoffs than it was in the regular season.
- 25:27[SPEAKER_02]: So his vision seems to have improved, which I think is encouraging heading into this game.
- 25:33[SPEAKER_02]: And you know what, when you talk, one of the names you mentioned that Miami went up against in Ohio State was Sunny Styles.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_02]: And like one of the reasons why Ohio State fans were so confident in Sunny Styles being
- 25:46[SPEAKER_02]: Before they faced Miami, sunny styles had not been credited with a mistackle all season.
- 25:52[SPEAKER_02]: Then the very first time he tries to tackle Mark Fletcher, what happens?
- 25:56[SPEAKER_02]: His first Miss Tackle of the Year happened on that very first opportunity.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_02]: So this is another reason why I think people are way too premature in just trying to write off Miami and be like, well, nobody's been able to run on Indiana, therefore Miami won't.
- 26:13[SPEAKER_02]: Well, nobody was running on Ohio State and Miami was able to,
- 26:17[SPEAKER_02]: teams were not having success running against Texas A&M and Miami was able to do that.
- 26:22[SPEAKER_02]: You know, Ole Miss was a little bit different of a story because they're running defense was more vulnerable than those other ones that Miami faced.
- 26:28[SPEAKER_02]: But in the case of A&M and Ohio State, like Miami was not supposed to run on them and they were.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_02]: And so I think offensively to me, you know, you're obviously going to need
- 26:40[SPEAKER_02]: to hit some passing plays as well because you can't just run into the A-Gat 50 times against a team that good and expect to be able to get five, six yards per carry consistently.
- 26:49[SPEAKER_02]: You're obviously going to have to be able to throw the football.
- 26:52[SPEAKER_02]: And you know, you're going to have to, and Carson Beck is going to have to play the way that he's been playing for the last seven games.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I know he's got one play off interception, but it was on a tipped ball, you know, he's thrown.
- 27:04[SPEAKER_02]: I think 15 touchdowns to two interceptions over his past seven games.
- 27:09[SPEAKER_02]: He's been taking care of the football at a really high level.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_02]: he's going to have to do that here and he's going to have to hit a couple of downfield passes at least to get this one going.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_02]: But I think Miami's offense with their physicality is definitely going to be able to move the ball at times against Indiana.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think this is going to be a complete stalemate.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and one thing that I will say about that is Indiana likes to run two guys into one gap and That could that could work in their favor because they like to use these these overloaded pass rushes against against you went when you're in in pass sets, but
- 27:52[SPEAKER_01]: as they guess on first down.
- 27:54[SPEAKER_01]: And then if they're going to be sending blitzes and over low blitzes on third down, Shannon Dawson has seen all of this already on tape.
- 28:03[SPEAKER_01]: And he understands the tendencies for Indiana, which is they do send five a lot on third down.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_01]: if they could set something up with that offensive line and try to get a deep shot on them early, especially early, that could pay huge, huge dividends.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_01]: And everybody keeps saying, oh, but look at what Iowa did.
- 28:25[SPEAKER_01]: First of all, I don't like to look anything that Iowa, the Iowa Hawkeyes do because like they play a different brand of football that I'm used to watching.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 28:34[SPEAKER_01]: But the Penn State game, not the Ohio State game, everybody's all the the Ohio State game and I'm like no no no Ohio State in the Anna that was essentially a rock fight it was a physical game Ohio State took an injury in the backfield and they just they got past happy and that was a problem against a team like Indiana who's really really smart especially really good against the past.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_01]: the Penn State King.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_01]: They didn't run it all over them, but they were almost religious in their devotion to running the football.
- 29:06[SPEAKER_01]: 33 carries 117 yards.
- 29:10[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think if Miami runs at 33 times, they're gonna have 117 yards.
- 29:14[SPEAKER_01]: I think I worse, they're gonna have 140.
- 29:17[SPEAKER_01]: I think 150 is the number.
- 29:20[SPEAKER_01]: If you tell me right now, would you sign up for 155 yards rushing on 35 carries from Miami on Monday night?
- 29:29[SPEAKER_01]: I'm telling you, they won.
- 29:30[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, all day, I sign up for that.
- 29:32[SPEAKER_01]: they won, they won.
- 29:34[SPEAKER_01]: So if Penn State was able with their athletes to have 33 carries for 117 yards, that just means that they had a devotion to it, meaning that was our game plan.
- 29:44[SPEAKER_01]: We're sticking to it.
- 29:45[SPEAKER_01]: We're not deviating at all from it.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_01]: If Miami can stick to that, then they could get those down in distances right.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_01]: And maybe those those pressures, those five man pressures are just
- 29:59[SPEAKER_01]: because third and three is a rundown for my enemy on many occasions.
- 30:05[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what you think about that, because I think we can move on now to, to Mendoza, but what do you think of, what do you think of that as far as a strategy in this game?
- 30:15[SPEAKER_01]: Like it has to be, like you had to run on first down pretty much every single time that you touched.
- 30:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 30:21[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 30:21[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 30:22[SPEAKER_02]: And you hope that they can have more manageable downs and distances, like they, you know, they, they were able, they were excellent.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_02]: Miami was excellent on third down against Ole Miss, but they're, I think their average
- 30:35[SPEAKER_02]: close to the third and fourth, third and five on average and get as many of those third and two, third and three's as possible, so I'm down with it.
- 30:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, moving on to Fernando Mendoza.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_01]: I always look for a stat that gives me a little bit of hope.
- 30:47[SPEAKER_01]: There's some times a stat.
- 30:49[SPEAKER_01]: There was two stats last week against Ole Miss, they gave me a little apprehension.
- 30:55[SPEAKER_01]: Although I was pretty much convinced that Miami was going to win that game.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_01]: Because I just thought Miami was just much more physical.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_01]: I thought they would stay on schedule and win the game.
- 31:03[SPEAKER_01]: But we saw the game that ended up being, right?
- 31:06[SPEAKER_02]: Well, if you had dropped four interceptions, it would have been a lot more comfortable than it was.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_01]: But I was looking for two stats.
- 31:12[SPEAKER_01]: There's two stats last week that gave me a little apprehension.
- 31:16[SPEAKER_01]: This week, there's one stat that gives me confidence.
- 31:20[SPEAKER_01]: I'll tell you the two stats that gave me apprehension last week.
- 31:22[SPEAKER_01]: Treated that Chamblees.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_01]: Lowest time to throw in all those colors football.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_02]: New year, I knew you were going there and I know where you're going.
- 31:29[SPEAKER_02]: But keep going.
- 31:30[SPEAKER_01]: So I was like, okay, this is for sure.
- 31:32[SPEAKER_01]: This is a guy that can play the quick game.
- 31:35[SPEAKER_01]: He's gonna render a game as it are and Ruben Bane useless.
- 31:39[SPEAKER_01]: Then we're just gonna have to win with Moton up the middle, the entire game.
- 31:42[SPEAKER_01]: Because that's the only way you affect the quick game.
- 31:44[SPEAKER_01]: You affect the quick game with quick pressure with your defense attack.
- 31:49[SPEAKER_01]: The other stat last week that gave me some apprehension is the offensive line with the best pressure rate, meaning the lowest pressure rate given up in all of college football is the University of Miami.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_01]: and it's by a lot.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_01]: I believe that their pressure rate is like 16%.
- 32:06[SPEAKER_01]: Number two was almost 20%.
- 32:11[SPEAKER_01]: And I guess that ties into Trinidad, Chamblees getting rid of the ball very quickly.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_01]: Here's the thing.
- 32:17[SPEAKER_01]: Fernando Mendoza holds the ball over 3.2 seconds.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_01]: He holds the ball longer than any quarterback they played since Pittsburgh.
- 32:30[SPEAKER_02]: And we saw how that went against Pittsburgh Eli Holstein was not granted the time that he'd and it's thing like on on Mendoza and I saw that stat and I had the same thought about him holding the ball.
- 32:43[SPEAKER_02]: You know, he loves to go down field and he's very effective at it with those back shoulder throws to Serat.
- 32:49[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it's he's been very effective at that, but.
- 32:52[SPEAKER_02]: You need to have time for those routes and those plays to develop and Miami's not going to give you that sort of time.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, for Indiana to have success on offense to one of two things or both are going to have to happen.
- 33:05[SPEAKER_02]: The Indiana offensive line is going to have to have the game of their life if they expect to give Mendoza 3.2 plus seconds to throw and anybody who thinks they're going to have the game of their life.
- 33:15[SPEAKER_02]: when Bane and Mesodore and Lightfoot and Justin Scott and a mod Moton senior are running at you and not to mention Keyante Scott blitzing at you and all that comes with that.
- 33:25[SPEAKER_02]: Um, you know, everyone who thought that they could contain those guys has been wrong, or like you said there's got to be a major seismic adjustment towards a quick game, which is not something that does it has done this year, and it's also, you know, not what their offense has been effective at doing.
- 33:42[SPEAKER_02]: So, I mean, I, I guess they, they've got to hope to play the style that they've been playing all year that they're going to find a way to block bane and measure door for three or more seconds because otherwise,
- 33:52[SPEAKER_02]: The game plan goes out the window and like kind of sizing up this matchup, it reminds me a little bit of Michigan versus Washington a couple years ago when Michael Panics goes into that game, you know, the hottest things since sliced bread, you know, slicing and dicing defenses, but Michigan gave him no rhythm, no time to throw and he couldn't play the way he'd been playing all year.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_02]: I hope that's going to be the case with Mendoza.
- 34:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Indiana, I believe and I think we can finish up here.
- 34:21[SPEAKER_01]: Indiana, I believe is going to do what they always do.
- 34:25[SPEAKER_01]: They stay on schedule.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_01]: They have a high-spin quarterback and a lot of people knew to the college football.
- 34:31[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe they've just been watching for the college football playoffs because, you know, hey, it's fun.
- 34:35[SPEAKER_01]: It's, you know, they see brackets, you know, brackets are fun, right?
- 34:40[SPEAKER_01]: If they're new to this, they might think, oh, they got the highest win quarterback.
- 34:43[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to throw it 40 times.
- 34:45[SPEAKER_01]: He's throwing for 400 yards every game.
- 34:47[SPEAKER_01]: No, that's not what they do.
- 34:48[SPEAKER_01]: They stay on schedule.
- 34:49[SPEAKER_01]: They run the football.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_01]: So my biggest key for the game, and you could share yours unless you want to keep a secret until you're going to release it on your show.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_01]: My biggest thing, my biggest key for this game is stop their run.
- 35:05[SPEAKER_01]: You stop their run.
- 35:06[SPEAKER_01]: I don't see how they're just gonna rely on Fernando Mendoza to beat you, so stop the run on first down.
- 35:15[SPEAKER_01]: I think you can turn the game over to Ruben Bane and I can't mess it on and ask them to win it for you going forward, you're great.
- 35:23[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, my big keys, that's one of them.
- 35:26[SPEAKER_02]: And it's the same.
- 35:27[SPEAKER_02]: Just both sides of the football run and stop the run.
- 35:30[SPEAKER_02]: And I mentioned Indiana has the second highest or the second statistically best rushing defense.
- 35:37[SPEAKER_02]: Miami's got the fifth.
- 35:39[SPEAKER_02]: When it comes to stopping the run and I think the hurricanes are going to be up to that task I mean teams have not been consistently able to run on them for most of the season and Yeah, I'm completely with you if you can stop the run if you can run the football and it should go without saying But we say it anyway because you know Indiana well like Indiana super power
- 36:01[SPEAKER_02]: is not beating themselves right like that's kind of their identity is how mature they are how well coach they are it's 23 year old average team like they they don't make a lot of mistakes so obviously you want to see in Miami has had both ends of the spectrum right against Ohio State zero penalties that were accepted by the opponent against Ole Miss.
- 36:23[SPEAKER_02]: 10 penalties for almost a football field's worth of yards.
- 36:26[SPEAKER_02]: So we've seen both ends of the spectrum.
- 36:28[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm actually encouraged, Alff, that it looks like we're gonna have big 12 officials again for this game.
- 36:33[SPEAKER_02]: Miami had big 12 crews for the Texas A&M game and for the Ohio State game.
- 36:39[SPEAKER_02]: And I thought those were the best officiated games of the season.
- 36:42[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, I know people don't consider the big 12 to be the top conference.
- 36:46[SPEAKER_02]: They may have the top officials, because those are the ones that tend to let us play a little bit more.
- 36:52[SPEAKER_01]: So you're saying that the ACC crews, no ACC crew, drew this assignment for.
- 36:58[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, thank you.
- 36:59[SPEAKER_02]: Thank God.
- 37:00[SPEAKER_02]: This is the only advantage of being in the ACC.
- 37:03[SPEAKER_02]: Is you can't get an ACC crew in the playoffs.
- 37:05[SPEAKER_02]: You always have to have a neutral crew.
- 37:07[SPEAKER_02]: Like it's like it.
- 37:09[SPEAKER_02]: the ACC referees like what what they love to do is they they call all this tiki tacky BS so then it's like if you play physical you're going to get penalized 12 times again right a fairly the big 12 crews let you play a little bit more which you should do in the playoffs
- 37:25[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 37:26[SPEAKER_01]: All right, finishing up here, give me one, I'll give you mine, one defense of player, one offense of player obscure.
- 37:33[SPEAKER_01]: Let's not, let's not stick to the chalk obscure that could be huge in this game.
- 37:38[SPEAKER_01]: I'll give you mine, motorea on defense.
- 37:41[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to be, if he has 15 tackles.
- 37:45[SPEAKER_01]: I wouldn't be surprised.
- 37:46[SPEAKER_01]: He's gonna be extremely active in this game.
- 37:49[SPEAKER_01]: He's gonna be running that A and that B gap all game because they like to run in between the tackles.
- 37:55[SPEAKER_01]: And on offense, Gerard Pringle.
- 37:57[SPEAKER_01]: The thing about a pressure-5 defense is the easiest way to defend it is by throwing to the flats.
- 38:05[SPEAKER_01]: Why not throw to the flats to your fastest running back?
- 38:08[SPEAKER_01]: Because pressure-5 defense, you always bring in one extra.
- 38:11[SPEAKER_01]: We bring one extra.
- 38:12[SPEAKER_01]: Usually bring the nickel.
- 38:13[SPEAKER_01]: If you bring in the nickel, the flats open.
- 38:16[SPEAKER_01]: So I expect back to throw to the running backs plenty.
- 38:20[SPEAKER_01]: You're thoughts one obscure on defense, one obscure on offense, and we could get out of here.
- 38:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, on defense, I'm going to go Ethan O'Connor because I think he's going to start this game in place of Xavier Lucas who's going to have a first half targeting suspension at corner and I would just imagine that, you know, obviously, O.J.
- 38:38[SPEAKER_02]: Frederick is going to start.
- 38:39[SPEAKER_02]: He's good to go.
- 38:40[SPEAKER_02]: That's, you know, a regular starter at corner.
- 38:43[SPEAKER_02]: He's been a starter all seasons since he's been healthy.
- 38:45[SPEAKER_02]: I would think that Indiana would look at Ethan O'Connor and try to test him in coverage.
- 38:50[SPEAKER_02]: He's played well, but he's a reserve.
- 38:52[SPEAKER_02]: He's not a regular starter.
- 38:53[SPEAKER_02]: So, I think for him holding up, and whatever one of their top receivers he draws holding up his assignment, and then man, you took a really, really good one on offense, so I'm, man, I'm going to go, I want this to be a great, a Ned's Cooper game, you know, he gets so nasty at the second level with his run blocking, you know, he's also, he's committed a few too many penalties here and there, so we need, we need to keep the holding and the fall starts to a minimum,
- 39:23[SPEAKER_02]: But I think, you know, an S Cooper probably Miami's most underrated offensive line, and just in terms of like the actual value, what he means to the team on and off the field.
- 39:32[SPEAKER_02]: I think if an S Cooper has a big game, Miami's probably going to reach that goal of 150 plus rushing yards that you talked about.
- 39:40[SPEAKER_01]: All right, on the way out, and then where I promise we will be out of here this time, any chance to marry brown place and what are they doing at tight end, because it looks like
- 39:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, great questions.
- 39:54[SPEAKER_02]: So, D'Marie Brown has been characterized as day to day, you know, in Mario Crystal Ball Talk, that probably means a little less than 50% if I'm just kind of, you know, we're leaning on the experience that I have with him talking about injuries, but I would love to see D'Marie Brown,
- 40:09[SPEAKER_02]: play, but the only risk is he hasn't played all postseason, so it would he be rusty would be the question if he does play, but he's listed day today.
- 40:17[SPEAKER_02]: I think Elijah Lofton is going to try to give it a go.
- 40:23[SPEAKER_02]: He's probably going to have like a flapjacket around his midsection after taking the big hit, but I think Alex Balman is going to start as he has most of the year at tight end, and we'll probably get the majority of the reps.
- 40:36[SPEAKER_02]: So I think he's going to
- 40:40[SPEAKER_02]: It wouldn't surprise me if if loften gets into the game, especially since slash game of the year no matter what happens, you know, you got the entire off season to sit in the cold tub, you know, so I feel like loften's going to give it a go, but we'll probably be on a snap count of sorts.
- 40:54[SPEAKER_01]: All right, where are you going to be watching the game?
- 40:58[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, I expect to be at Hard Rock Stadium, I think.
- 41:01[SPEAKER_02]: I think my credential has come through.
- 41:05[SPEAKER_02]: I know some folks had a little trouble with that, but I'm expecting to be at Hard Rock Stadium and I'm curious to see what a madhouse it's gonna be.
- 41:15[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so you're not to keep running to the bathroom to cheer for after every series.
- 41:21[SPEAKER_01]: All right, good luck to our canes, good luck to our boys.
- 41:24[SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully they get it done on Monday, that'll be number six.
- 41:29[SPEAKER_01]: They don't lose this game at home, traditionally, they usually win this game.
- 41:35[SPEAKER_01]: By the way, odd thing, everything that they've ever beaten has had red as a primary color.
- 41:40[SPEAKER_01]: Have you noticed that?
- 41:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you're right about that.
