- 0:01Welcome to Rick and That Michelle Chick, the weekly
- 0:05podcast where your hosts, Rick and Michelle, confidently dive
- 0:10into topics they know absolutely nothing about and somehow make
- 0:15it sound legit. They're not experts.
- 0:17They're not qualified. Honestly, they barely googled
- 0:20it. So grab a drink, lower your
- 0:23expectations, and let's pretend this counts as content.
- 0:28So buckle up. Facts are optional, but the
- 0:31bullshit? That's premium grade.
- 0:34This is Rick and that Michelle chick.
- 0:41Well any any update on the House water damage?
- 0:46Well, the good news is we got the contractor coming on Monday
- 0:51to basically repair it. So with that, repair it.
- 0:55Oh yeah. So what's?
- 0:56What's the final cost going to? Be final damage, you're going to
- 1:00laugh. The final damage is $2000.
- 1:05That's it. Oh my gosh, you know, but but
- 1:08we're going to take advantage of this situation.
- 1:11I think it's actually actually, I think it's $3000 when it's all
- 1:14said and done, $3000. Remember I freaked out $3000
- 1:18you're. Thinking it's going to be like
- 1:2010 grand. We budgeted 10,000 for it
- 1:23because I was like oh this is. Smart.
- 1:25Great. Yeah, we budgeted 10,000.
- 1:26It's, it's going to be I think 3000 from the contractor.
- 1:30But we decided because we're put, we ripped up carpet in the
- 1:35guest room, we might as well put carpet in the man cave.
- 1:38So, so that'll probably be another extra $1000 with the
- 1:42carpet. So because those, the only two
- 1:44rooms in my house that have carpet is the guest room and the
- 1:48man cave. So, so we thought, well, let's
- 1:51take advantage of it. And you know, and basically, if
- 1:54we're going to do 1, if you're going to do carpet in one room,
- 1:56you might as well match it. Oh yeah, and if it needs
- 1:58replaced, I mean, might as well do it now while you have the
- 2:01contractor, unless you are going to do.
- 2:03It yes, but but I it's so hard to describe, but I know, I know
- 2:09like I'm sure Jay, I don't know if Jay ever feels this way.
- 2:11So. So here's the deal.
- 2:13So we went out on our anniversary dinner on Saturday
- 2:16night and I had 100 and let's say, I don't know, 120 bucks in
- 2:23cash in my wallet. So I didn't want to run, I
- 2:27didn't want to run a credit card, you know, because I want
- 2:31to spend the cash that I had. I, I mean, I had budgeted for
- 2:34the, for the anniversary. It's not like I didn't have the
- 2:35money. So we get there, we have a great
- 2:38dinner. We go to this place in Richland,
- 2:39really great place called the social Well, and you know, I, my
- 2:44wife, as you already know, gets every, gets everything she wants
- 2:47really. So, but but as she was ordering
- 2:50stuff, they get kept getting closer and closer to what I knew
- 2:53I had cash for. And so not that I didn't want to
- 2:56pay. I just, I got grumpy because I'm
- 2:59like, because I was like, I didn't because so when I so when
- 3:02I went online, she picked the place and I went online.
- 3:05I said, oh, there's a charge for using a credit card.
- 3:08Oh, so I was hoping to avoid. Yeah, the the, the boy.
- 3:13So, so what's so funny was so anyway, we had dinner and it
- 3:18started getting to that 100 and some and then and then I was
- 3:21hoping she would go, let's go, let's go get.
- 3:24And so we're right across the street from this bakery.
- 3:27So I was hoping she'd go, OK, let's go across the street to
- 3:30get dessert, but no, but. She didn't.
- 3:33No, she ordered dessert. And so I got a little grumpy and
- 3:35she didn't. I tried to explain it to her.
- 3:37She got a, you know, she goes, I don't want a damn cupcake.
- 3:40And I was like, man, I mean, so she ordered like a, you know,
- 3:43and, and at this nice restaurant, the, the dessert is
- 3:46$15. It's not like it.
- 3:48Right. You know I mean.
- 3:50You know, the price is no, the truthfully, let's be honest,
- 3:52prices at eating out are just ridiculous.
- 3:54Yes, I mean, I understand they got to make business.
- 3:56I'm, I'm 100% supportive of it, but it's like, I was really
- 4:01hoping that you go, OK, that let's go to that bakery across
- 4:03the ground. Then I could use my credit card.
- 4:05So I could only yeah. So anyway, ended up having to
- 4:08use my credit card to leave a tip on it.
- 4:10So I had enough money in cash. So I had 115, I had $115.00 in
- 4:15cash and the bill was a 111. So I can't, I got to leave a
- 4:22tip. You know, I left, I left the $20
- 4:25tip. I left the $20 tip.
- 4:26So anyway, so I got a little crabby towards the end on it.
- 4:28So, but just, I mean, because in my head I was like, OK, we
- 4:33ordered and I deliberately under ordered for myself.
- 4:38Right to make. Trying to hit the number.
- 4:39So it was like, so when, when, when the guy came and goes, oh,
- 4:42you guys want dessert? I'm like, Nope, I go, I go Nope.
- 4:47Angie and. They're like, no, we're going
- 4:48across the street to. Get no, I couldn't say that
- 4:50because she you know, so my why it's it's I don't know about.
- 4:54I don't know. I don't even know why she sent
- 4:57me a great TikTok today or a, a great Facebook short about this
- 5:01family, the Holder family or Holderson family.
- 5:03And they do these parody videos. And one was where, and I think
- 5:07I've talked about this in the last podcast where we went to
- 5:09Portland and we were at the hotel and there's like 8 things
- 5:12around us. And I'm like, hey, do you want
- 5:14Thai? No, do you want Mexican?
- 5:16No. Do you want da da da?
- 5:17And then we had to go wherever she wanted to go.
- 5:19I never, never get to pick like ever, because because whatever I
- 5:26and then when and then she goes where where do you want to go?
- 5:28I'm like I. You're like McDonald's.
- 5:32Well, no, she. Oh yeah.
- 5:33Oh God, don't don't mention fast food.
- 5:35Oh, she just erupts when it comes to fast food.
- 5:38Oh, I mean, sometimes I sometimes I crave McDonald's
- 5:41French. I know, but Joe, Not Megan, not
- 5:43Megan. Megan's got Megan's a foodie.
- 5:46I mean not, I don't know if she's a foodie, but drives me.
- 5:48Nuts. I mean, I know it's not good for
- 5:50me, but that doesn't mean I don't.
- 5:52I'm not addicted to McDonald's French fries like the rest of.
- 5:55Them no, no, no, no. My, my, no.
- 5:57That the problem that that's where I'm frustrated right now
- 6:00is it's not that I don't want to take my wife out for dinner or
- 6:02anything like that. Problem is it cost me 100 and
- 6:05some dollars every time I do it now.
- 6:07Right. Where it used to cost me $75. 50
- 6:09yeah 50-60 bucks. So and so it's like and and
- 6:13again, I want to treat my wife great.
- 6:15I do but but it it for me. Those things stress me out.
- 6:19Right. As I watch the yeah.
- 6:21Yeah, yes. So when you go to Vegas and, and
- 6:27I mean, I get, I mean, I don't know, I don't know if you guys
- 6:29budget, I don't know if you guys budget that way, but in my head
- 6:32I have a number. Right.
- 6:34And Vegas is stupid expensive now.
- 6:36I mean, luckily we're going for this conference for my husband's
- 6:40work. And so most everything is paid
- 6:43for. And when we get taken out to
- 6:45these dinners, they're paid for. Otherwise, yeah, I would not go
- 6:49to any of these restaurants that we're going to when per person,
- 6:53it's probably like a grand once you add everything up and we're
- 6:58at these dinner parties where there's like 9 people at the
- 7:02table. We have seen bills for when
- 7:05there was just seven of us and the bill because we were sitting
- 7:08right next to the person paying for it and it was $15,000.
- 7:13Like we would we, no, we'd go eat at the Taco Bell Cantina if
- 7:18it was just us. Like we're not going to eat at
- 7:20these. It's just nice to see these
- 7:22fancy places and get to eat at them.
- 7:23But yeah, I would not pay for. Well, I my own bucket.
- 7:26I just know, like when we went, we her Christmas, her Christmas
- 7:30gift was pink like for Vegas and she'd never been to Vegas.
- 7:33So that was her Christmas present a few years back.
- 7:35And, and I, and I as a radio person, it takes me so much time
- 7:40to save that kind of money because I, because it's not, I
- 7:43don't, I don't swipe a credit card.
- 7:44I don't go, OK, you want to go on a cruise, OK, swipe a credit
- 7:47card. Oh, we're going to Ireland, you
- 7:49know, $20,000. I can't, I just can't do that.
- 7:53I number one, I would stroke because it takes me so long to
- 7:58save that money. So we went and saw pink.
- 8:00So I and she loved and she loved it.
- 8:02So I, so I paid cash for the first portion of pink.
- 8:06So in my mind I'm like, OK, getting to Vegas.
- 8:09I'm like, OK, I have two grand in my head.
- 8:11Like I have two grand. I want to stay within the two
- 8:14grand. And I, I, I, I'm a horrible
- 8:16husband because I start getting grouchy.
- 8:20I start getting grouchy when we start getting close to the
- 8:22number that's in my head. So OK, so here's here's what OK
- 8:27you need to save more for like the like I have a buffer like OK
- 8:33if I go over at least I have X amount of money now in case I go
- 8:38over. So as you already know, the the
- 8:41the hilarity of any of those situations is do you think I
- 8:44have money? No, but.
- 8:48Of course, no, I I what drives, no what drives my wife nuts is
- 8:54guess what? I I have money.
- 8:56Right, you don't want to spend it.
- 8:58But I have a but I have a But I in my brain, I have a budget.
- 9:01You know what I'm saying? I have AII have a.
- 9:03My mind is set on. So then you need to.
- 9:06Have a buffer budget for said event like OK if.
- 9:10I would think, I would think $2000 for three days.
- 9:14No. Well, depends on what I mean.
- 9:18It depends on where you stay and what you're doing.
- 9:21Well, we stayed at the Park MGM. I mean, no, but that all that
- 9:25stuff, all that stuff was literally paid for.
- 9:27So I had already, I had already paid for it.
- 9:29So that trip ended up costing me 6 grand.
- 9:31I had already paid 4000. And so we get there and and, and
- 9:36it wasn't that it wasn't her fault.
- 9:38It's not like she was, you know, but but she, she won't, she will
- 9:42not compromise on like you said, Hey, let's just set up Taco Bell
- 9:46for lunch today. I mean, and and it doesn't even
- 9:48have to be Taco Bell, like no, I like like some of like our dive
- 9:52bar food or some of those places.
- 9:54Anything and everything that she's got.
- 9:56Places are fun to eat at and their food's pretty damn good
- 9:59too, so. I get it.
- 10:00But no. So.
- 10:01No. It always it, you know, she
- 10:02cannot. She might.
- 10:04My wife. Yeah.
- 10:05She cannot order. I mean, again, it's like, why
- 10:08can't you? Why can't you order something
- 10:10that's inexpensive? Why does it have to be?
- 10:12Why do you look, you know? But probably her thought is this
- 10:16is our anniversary so I should be able to order of course I
- 10:19want. No, of course she is.
- 10:20Absolutely. But I have a number in my head.
- 10:22As she gets close to it, I get grouchy.
- 10:25Maybe you should tell. Even because even if she spent,
- 10:28even if she spent $200, I'm fine with that.
- 10:30I don't care. You know, it's, you're right, it
- 10:32is our anniversary, but I had $115.00 in cash.
- 10:38Right. So you should have saved 200, is
- 10:40that what you're saying? Well, I didn't want to run the
- 10:44credit card, so that just made so I, you know, so it was just,
- 10:50it's just one of the, I just don't know if those things, you
- 10:52know. I mean, it it like Jay has come
- 10:57to the realization that he cannot get upset over these
- 11:03things. So I mean.
- 11:04He so a great idea. Like he doesn't like outwardly
- 11:08show it or he won't let it like affect him in that moment.
- 11:12Now he might say something later or a couple days later, but
- 11:16especially if it's something special.
- 11:17Like he'll just pretend like everything is fine until like a
- 11:21few days later and well, I have something.
- 11:23I, I have to be 100% candidate. I have, I have to be, I have to
- 11:26be better from, from that particular situation because
- 11:32it's like every year we owe taxes.
- 11:34Every year we owe taxes. Now.
- 11:36Now, Megan. It's coming, it's inevitable.
- 11:38Right. Well, but, but Megan has a third
- 11:42or she has, OK. So we both have our own job.
- 11:44We have, we have, we have our jobs, right.
- 11:46Well, usually we owe, I don't know, a couple 100 bucks between
- 11:52the two of us from just the regular jobs.
- 11:54Well, now she's a personal trainer, so there's a third
- 11:57income in there. That she loves doing.
- 12:00That she loves doing and guess what?
- 12:02And guess what they don't do, they don't withhold.
- 12:06No, they or there's, she doesn't make enough off of it to
- 12:08withhold. So, so at the end of the year,
- 12:11you're sitting there doing the taxes and suddenly there's 3 to
- 12:14$4000 extra income because it, there's no taxes withheld from
- 12:19it. And then suddenly you're, you're
- 12:21$1500 deep. So I get, I, I try not, I mean,
- 12:26I don't, I try not to get cranky, but we'll be driving
- 12:28down the road and she'll go, oh, I only have one client right
- 12:32now. And I, and then me, B and me
- 12:33goes, well, that'll be, that'll be better on the taxes.
- 12:37And she goes, she goes I, she goes.
- 12:39I effing hate when you say crap like that.
- 12:42Oh no. Because that, that's how that's
- 12:45how my brain works. Right.
- 12:47I am terrified. I am terrified of being broke.
- 12:52Right. And we've discussed that in the
- 12:54past. Podcast live from your
- 12:55childhood. That that's trauma, but it but
- 12:57it terrifies me. It's not even it is.
- 13:00I think it's the one thing more than anything else, that that I
- 13:04and it's not. And again, it's not I want it
- 13:06has nothing to do with money. It has everything to do with, I
- 13:08guess, security. Yes, Yep.
- 13:12Like you. Said you have the money, you
- 13:15know when you were talking earlier about you have the money
- 13:18to be able to buy these things or whatever.
- 13:21It's just the fact that it you budget XML and you do not want
- 13:25to go over it. But that is trauma from your
- 13:28childhood and it's spilling over into you as the adult.
- 13:32And and Michelle, think about, think about this.
- 13:34It's like, yeah, I have money, but one bad thing could wipe me
- 13:37out. Oh yeah.
- 13:38So it's not so it's like, it's like, oh, you got money.
- 13:41Well, yeah, I mean, I got money to go to to lunch.
- 13:44You're still living paycheck to paycheck.
- 13:45Right. Yeah, almost, yes, almost in a
- 13:48sense that there is there's a little bit of buffer money Yeah,
- 13:50you're right, there's a little bit of buffer money.
- 13:52But. But once it's gone, I mean, now
- 13:53it's like I always think to myself, OK, you could sit there
- 13:55and go, yeah, I got $5000 in the bank.
- 13:57OK. But man, one thing, a car
- 13:59repair, this house repair, then you're wiped out.
- 14:03And then it takes me forever to get that $5000 back, back into
- 14:07the coffers. And so that was the the good
- 14:10part about the house repair is when the guy said, oh, it's
- 14:13going to be two to $3000. I was like, book it.
- 14:18You know me. Do it.
- 14:20Right. Because in my brain I've already
- 14:23I already put 10,000 as a loss. Like in my brain I went OK it's
- 14:28going to cost 10,000 to fix. The house only losing 3 grand.
- 14:31Right, three or and we're going to put new carpet in so $4000.
- 14:34So to me, I, I saved 6 grand. It still cost me no matter what,
- 14:39whether it be 10,000 or 12,000, but I'm better off thinking that
- 14:43I'm spending $4000 on this repair.
- 14:45Yes, yeah. So anyway, I just didn't know if
- 14:47Jay Jay could relate. I do have something to show you
- 14:50really quick though. I.
- 14:51Mean he could relate with me spending money.
- 14:53So yeah, so remember when Jay, these are Jay's comics?
- 14:57Yeah, yeah. But look, but it's got it's nice
- 15:02see, they're all I just want to say thank you to the my nice
- 15:05little gift that I got last week.
- 15:06So see, don't they look when they're what they're they call
- 15:09they call this bag and boarded. Yeah, it looks better.
- 15:12So don't they look, Yeah, don't they look so much nicer when
- 15:14they've got bags and boards on them and and put away for
- 15:17safekeeping? So.
- 15:19So anyway, tell Jay thank you. So yeah, they look, they look
- 15:23awesome. Yeah, they do.
- 15:24They don't look all ratty, right?
- 15:26So it's kind of fun to to come home with.
- 15:28If you're a comic book fan, it's kind of fun to come home and put
- 15:30bags and boards on everything. Yeah, and I'm going to read your
- 15:34book On the Flight since oh God, this should be a short read.
- 15:37So instead of trying to watch a movie, I figured I'll just read
- 15:40this book, otherwise I would have bought a different book to
- 15:42read so. Yeah, it's an it's an hour and a
- 15:44half, so, so you'll be. Good.
- 15:46I mean, it's a 2 hour flight so there you go.
- 15:48So. So the house is doing good.
- 15:50How was the visit with your sister?
- 15:52Excellent. I I love my spending money you
- 15:54didn't want to pay for. It no, my Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 15:57So my sister came yeah. Because remember in my OK, so my
- 16:01sister came to visit. No family member has ever been
- 16:03to my house. They just never have been to my
- 16:05house. And so so when my sister texted
- 16:09me, hey, do you want to get together?
- 16:11I said, Hey, you just come to my house because I didn't, I didn't
- 16:13I in my brain, I had that $115.00 for my anniversary.
- 16:18So I didn't want to go out with my sister because because OK,
- 16:22here going back to the same situation is I feel obligated to
- 16:25pay since she's coming to visit me.
- 16:27I feel obligated to buy lunch, right?
- 16:30Don't you ever feel like those kind of things like.
- 16:32Oh yeah, especially if I'm the one that invited you.
- 16:35Where she invited herself. She invited herself.
- 16:38Cool. But if I invite you to lunch, is
- 16:40what I'm saying. Or I invite you to dinner or
- 16:43brunch or whatever then. But even if I say I'm going to
- 16:45meet you, hey, I'll meet you at the pub or whatever, I feel
- 16:48obligated to buy their lunch. Well, but that's how you were
- 16:52brought up though that. Was how I was brought up.
- 16:54And so I was like, not that I was trying to get out of get out
- 16:56of a free lunch, but my sister, my sister had never been to the
- 16:59house anyway and she was more than happy to come to the house.
- 17:01Yeah, I'm sure she loved it. I, you know what I love most
- 17:04about we could, my sister and I could talk for hours and hours
- 17:07and hours. We really could.
- 17:09What I, what I love most about the visits is she verified Cuz
- 17:14I, cuz I struggle with when you read that when my, when you read
- 17:17my book, I struggle with my recollection or my memory of, of
- 17:21the stuff because you always wonder did that happen that I
- 17:27get it wrong? And so it's always great when my
- 17:29sister comes and we sit down and she's like, cuz one of the
- 17:32things in the book was I talked about that I was the smelly kid
- 17:36when we, when we went to the Wallaces, you know, having gone
- 17:40from my wonderful foster parents to good hygiene, like I was
- 17:44brought, yeah, I was brought up on good hygiene brush your, you
- 17:47know, I was. And then when you get into
- 17:49those, those environments where I don't know you, you become the
- 17:53smelly kid or the, the trauma and all these different things.
- 17:56And I couldn't figure for the life of me is like, why didn't I
- 17:59just take a bath? Couldn't figure it out.
- 18:02What was keeping you from being able?
- 18:04What was keeping me? People sound like it.
- 18:05Yes, exactly. And my sister Robin clarified
- 18:09it. And I thought, oh man, I should
- 18:10have gone and interviewed my brothers and sisters because I
- 18:12would have had a better idea for my book.
- 18:14But the book really was a love letter to my foster parents, not
- 18:17a Trump. Not it was not.
- 18:18There's the parts about the walls in there, but it was not
- 18:21meant to be any focus on that, right.
- 18:23But I discovered as my as my sister sent me a text and she
- 18:26read the book and she said she cried, she cried and she loved
- 18:30it and she laughed. And then she said, hey, by the
- 18:33way, we were only allowed to bathe once a week.
- 18:38Why is that like a shortage of water or?
- 18:42The water, I think it's a control issue.
- 18:44Oh, definitely. Probably, yeah, 100%.
- 18:48At the end of the day, that's that's what my gut says.
- 18:51Oh yeah. My gut says it was a control.
- 18:54My gut says it was a control issue.
- 18:56And I mean, or a control thing that's again, that goes back to
- 18:58that fear that that she would keep over us kids.
- 19:02And so now and then I thought, that makes total sense.
- 19:05I don't recall that, but that makes total sense.
- 19:08And my sister even sent the text saying like, she'd have to sneak
- 19:11in and and wash her hair and not get and not get caught.
- 19:16Yeah. So, so, you know, it's one of
- 19:19those things where it's like, I wish I would have done an
- 19:21interview looking back because I just worked for my perspective.
- 19:24She just said she goes read the book, laughed a little, cried a
- 19:28bit too. Good job.
- 19:29But part of the bathing thing at the waltzes was that they were
- 19:32only allowed us to take a bath once a week.
- 19:33So I would rush home from school and wash my hair in the kitchen
- 19:35sink and then curl it again so she wouldn't notice.
- 19:39That's some that's some mommy dearest bullshit.
- 19:41Right there. Yeah, definitely.
- 19:42That's that's that's some control shit.
- 19:44So if you ever wonder why I messed up, well, there you.
- 19:47Go. That's why the money, why the
- 19:50money messes with your head so bad now.
- 19:52Well, so and I, I talk, you got to read, you got to, you got to
- 19:56read the book, because once you read the book, it's gonna, oh,
- 19:58it'll come into perspective for you.
- 20:00Because I talk about, I talk about money in there.
- 20:03So I talk, yeah, I talk about, I talk about money to where
- 20:06interested enough I can at least give you a little bit.
- 20:08So about it is She kept our money, the she kept our money.
- 20:13Oh, that's not surprising. Yeah, but if I went and mowed a
- 20:16lawn, if I went and pulled weeds or whatever, she kept our money.
- 20:20On the flip side, my foster mom even though she made me split up
- 20:23my money. Great.
- 20:25I still got my money. And she didn't keep all of it
- 20:28from you. She.
- 20:28Didn't keep, she didn't keep any of it.
- 20:30You're going to love, you're going to love it when you read
- 20:32the book because, because you're going to, yeah, there's a good,
- 20:35there's a good part about money in there.
- 20:37There's a whole bunch of financial lessons, lessons in
- 20:40the book. And you're going to love the
- 20:41part about the difference between.
- 20:42And that's what I was trying to really explain in the book was
- 20:45here's these people and here's these people, and this is the
- 20:47difference. Right.
- 20:49Yeah. Yeah, so, yeah.
- 20:50So anyway, my, my sister had a great visit and and she's great.
- 20:54And I she just clear, she yeah. And remember, this was her, this
- 20:59was her foster parents from the start.
- 21:02So, so yeah. So I really feel I, I couldn't
- 21:06imagine imagine having them from the start.
- 21:10Right, so she never got to experience.
- 21:13No. The the flip side, which would
- 21:15be a more loving. She never asked her.
- 21:18Yeah. So she's a she was, she was
- 21:21definitely, she was my dad's favorite.
- 21:23And and and and and I could. And she and my dad was her
- 21:28favorite as well. So they, it was a mutual kind of
- 21:31sort of thing. So.
- 21:32Right. And there's a there's a good
- 21:33reason for it. I mean, there really is talking
- 21:35with her. Yeah.
- 21:36Yeah, All right, well, I was super shocked to hear about
- 21:41Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman getting a divorced.
- 21:45I was a little bit traumatized because here's my thought.
- 21:48Here's my thought. Tim McGraw and Faith Hill better
- 21:51not be getting divorced. Next goes what is my mind?
- 21:55I was shocked. I mean, me too.
- 21:57I was almost 20 years, almost 20.
- 21:59Years I thought, oh, you know, whenever you see them together
- 22:02they look super in love and so happy and so cute and I'm like
- 22:05oh, these two are gonna make it like yay, like a Hollywood
- 22:09couple that's really gonna make it and then no, it comes
- 22:13crashing down and do. You think?
- 22:16And there's so much speculation online right now.
- 22:18A lot of people think that Nicole helped him through his.
- 22:22He had an alcoholic period, you know, all of his.
- 22:25Addiction in the beginning. Period and all that.
- 22:28And then and then now there's rumors swirling that he's like
- 22:31dating his guitarist like so. So last night I didn't hear the.
- 22:35Guitarist. I did hear that there was a
- 22:37rumor that he was seeing someone.
- 22:39I didn't hear it was his guitarist.
- 22:41OK, yeah, so so there's a new there's a new Instagram post, a
- 22:45TikTok post video today where last night's concert he was
- 22:49performing and he was singing The Fighter, which is a song he
- 22:51wrote for Nicole. Yes.
- 22:53And he changed the lyrics. Singing together in the car.
- 22:56Yep, and he changed the lyrics to the girl the guitar player in
- 23:01his band is whatever her name is.
- 23:03And so when he got to the Nicole part he says named her and says
- 23:08I will fight for you. Oh, so yes, lots.
- 23:11Of I mean, maybe she was just trying to put a different girl's
- 23:14name in there, but he could have picked a lot of different names.
- 23:19Right. I hope that I hope that's not
- 23:20the case. I will lost one of his
- 23:22daughter's names. It could have been one of his
- 23:23daughter. 'S yeah, he could, but no, he,
- 23:25he put the he put the girls the right, the the, you know, and so
- 23:29he's getting a lot of Flack about it.
- 23:30I'm, you know, he's getting a totally Flack about and and
- 23:34then, yeah, like you said, if it's somebody else.
- 23:35So I really hope, I really hope that it's not somebody made it
- 23:38was interesting. And I do believe this to be
- 23:40true. I believe, and you guys in the
- 23:44comments below can, can tell me I'm wrong.
- 23:47So women will get out of relationships and don't need
- 23:52anybody on the other side to get out of a relationship.
- 23:54If they want another relationship, they're out of the
- 23:57relationship. Right.
- 23:59Men, there's always, 99% of the time there's somebody on the
- 24:04other side. Yes, they can't be alone.
- 24:07Correct. Yeah, I've always believed that
- 24:09I, you know, when someone when something comes to me and goes,
- 24:11oh, I'm getting, you know, some one of my guy friends comes to
- 24:14me and goes, oh, I'm getting a I'm getting a divorce.
- 24:16I'm like, who is she? And they're like, what do you
- 24:19mean there's there's nobody there.
- 24:20There's nobody there. I'm like, no.
- 24:23And then they go. And then they always go.
- 24:24Oh, all right. Yeah, I met this fellow.
- 24:27Yeah, we've been. Talking to this girl it.
- 24:29Always comes out. We're just talking.
- 24:32We haven't done anything yet. So, so and, and of course we've
- 24:35talked about my experience or we've not welled into my
- 24:38experience in terms of my own divorce in that particular
- 24:41situation. And, and so I am quite aware of
- 24:48that. No one leaves, no one leave.
- 24:51There's some something going on, something we don't know about
- 24:54from Keith Urban, from Keith Urban side of it, whether it be
- 24:56the guitar player or whether it be the other person that they
- 24:59say and that it is. Who's the other person?
- 25:02You just said well, so I say it's the guitar person, but
- 25:04there's another gal named Amy something or whatever is in.
- 25:07There's a yeah, so I don't know which one it is like the guitar,
- 25:11but the guitar gal looks so young.
- 25:13I'm like, I don't think it's her, but I mean.
- 25:16No, that's what guys do. They get old and then they go
- 25:19after the 20 year old or 18 year old.
- 25:23Or not that I not that I not that I have anything invested in
- 25:26Keith Urban or Nicole Kidman, but I would like to think
- 25:28better. I know, me too.
- 25:30I was kind of like, now I have to hate you.
- 25:33Yeah, well, too well, it's I will say this, you've met Keith
- 25:38before, right? Yes, and he smelled delicious.
- 25:40That's that. I was going to add that that to
- 25:43the The thing is, I remember that we were at the gorge and we
- 25:46were backstage with Keith and Megan was with me and we left
- 25:50the we left the tent and Megan goes, Oh my God, he smells so
- 25:53good. Yeah, and he was super nice.
- 25:55If you go back and listen to a podcast, when we talk about meet
- 25:59and greets, it was probably one of my favorites, and that was
- 26:03because he remembered my name when I left.
- 26:05Yeah, he is. He's so nice, he's impressive.
- 26:07No, he is impressive. But I thought to myself, you
- 26:10know, I thought to myself, yeah, my wife won't jump me, but
- 26:12she'll jump Keith Urban. So.
- 26:14So. You better buy the same clone
- 26:16except for. Yeah, well, I almost $400.00
- 26:19want to go back. Yeah, I almost want to go back.
- 26:20And hey, Keith, what do? You it's $400.00 a bottle you're
- 26:23not buying. But they do have.
- 26:25Knockoff stuff. I'll buy you the knockoff stuff.
- 26:27How's that? Yeah, that's like 4.
- 26:30But it's so funny. Anybody I've ever encountered,
- 26:33any woman I've ever encountered who's gone backstage me, Keith
- 26:35Urban says that exact. Smells good, yeah, Yeah.
- 26:40But I but I would like to have faith that, yes, I would like to
- 26:44have faith that he's not, that it is not a cheating thing and
- 26:47that they just went, that they're just going to go their
- 26:49separate ways. But I don't buy it.
- 26:51I don't either, and we'll probably never really know the
- 26:54truth. So.
- 26:54So we're holding on. You know what?
- 26:56I I I feel good about Tim and faith, though I don't want to
- 26:58jinx you. I know.
- 27:00I. Thought even though I love Tim
- 27:03McGraw but the reality of me being with him is not going to
- 27:06happen. Let's have him be happy with
- 27:08Faith. I think the good thing about Tim
- 27:10and Faith number one, I think they align because they're both
- 27:14musicians and and and they and then when they go out on tour,
- 27:18they go together most of the time or they're.
- 27:20And didn't they have, I think they had like a three day rule
- 27:24when they first got together that they wouldn't be apart from
- 27:27each other longer than three days or and so whoever would go
- 27:31visit the other one. And that's what they were based
- 27:32on their schedule. Yeah.
- 27:33The Keith Thurman and Nicole Kidman thing, they were talking
- 27:35about the fact that now Nicole is a famous movie star and he's
- 27:39they're both gone all the time. So I think again, I think, I
- 27:43think they just moral, I guess from Tim and Faith, they just
- 27:46more aligned. But we'll see.
- 27:48I mean, Garth and Trisha have been together forever, even
- 27:51though that that was kind of a bumpy Rd. when they first first
- 27:53started out. You look at Vince Gill and Amy
- 27:56Grant, that was a huge controversy back in the day.
- 27:59You know, you look at, you know, Co workers that fall in love or
- 28:03musicians that fell, you know, what is it?
- 28:05Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, which didn't didn't last.
- 28:09But all these all these things that that happened when you're
- 28:13making a movie or you're performing with somebody.
- 28:15I mean, you get close to people, all these, all these different
- 28:19things. And and if, if you're, I guess,
- 28:22as you and I have talked a lot about, if you don't watch
- 28:25yourself, it's so easy to to fall, you know that those things
- 28:30happen. So and especially like you said,
- 28:33when they're separated for such long periods of time.
- 28:36Right. And we've talked about like the
- 28:38Michael Jackson thing or whatever, that when you are a
- 28:41celebrity, nobody says no to you or tells you any different.
- 28:46And so you know that if Keith Urban was making a move on some
- 28:50other woman, she would not tell him no.
- 28:52Like no, no woman in her right mind would.
- 28:56And so I think like those things colliding just make what they do
- 29:01is a recipe for disaster for any relationship probably.
- 29:05When you're bringing up a relationship, it's very
- 29:06interesting because I have some friends who are huge.
- 29:09Oh, I have some female friends who are huge fan fans of David
- 29:12Grohl from the Foo Fighters and 99.9% of the time he is a great
- 29:18guy, right? He even has that reputation.
- 29:20Right until. Like, and then he had a child,
- 29:23right? And my friends who are like die
- 29:26hard Foo fighter fans think, you know, he's the gold standard of,
- 29:29of, of morals and values, right? Flipped out and like what you
- 29:35know. And so it's one of those things
- 29:37where I guess that's why you don't put your heroes up on the
- 29:39pedestal, because they'll come crashing down.
- 29:41No. But the problem is we do we see
- 29:43them? Yeah.
- 29:44Well, I'd like to think the best of.
- 29:46People great, and they are imperfect just like the rest of
- 29:50us, except for where they have more power than the rest of us.
- 29:53And money and money, different things, different things like
- 29:56that. And so.
- 29:57So. Yeah.
- 29:58But you do, like you said, you want to root on Tim.
- 30:00And, you know, I look at what is it?
- 30:02Brad Paisley and his wife, Kimberly Williams.
- 30:05I think they'll they'll make it. Oh yeah.
- 30:08But but it's interesting even from Bon Jovi and Dorothea,
- 30:12who've been together forever, Bon Jovi said.
- 30:15Well, in the early days in a, you know, in a recent interview,
- 30:18he said In the early days, you know, I, you know, I'm.
- 30:20Glad she goes, I'm honest to. You know, he's like, I'm glad
- 30:22Dorothea stayed with me because. And then I went, oh, yeah, we
- 30:25know what you were doing in the early days of Bond.
- 30:26You know, there, it's, it's a group.
- 30:28I mean, it's groupies. I get it, you know.
- 30:30Great. I.
- 30:31Mean so she's stuck. By her.
- 30:32She's stuck. By her man.
- 30:35But I I'm just hoping that it's not a relapse of the addiction
- 30:38stuff. Oh yeah, I hope not.
- 30:39I do you think she would leave him though?
- 30:42No, she. Didn't she didn't want the
- 30:45divorce. Time she did but do you think
- 30:47like if he has relapsed, you know recently and that is you
- 30:52know what brought this about like do don't you think she
- 30:55would have had an intervention with him first and then.
- 30:59I think so. Like tried to push him to go
- 31:01back to rehab, I mean. I think so.
- 31:03I think so. You look at you look at the
- 31:05tragic story of Lorrie Morgan and Keith Whitley, another great
- 31:08example of that. They were married and and he
- 31:12drank himself to death. And you can't.
- 31:14No matter how much you love somebody, you can't stop it.
- 31:18Like a lot. Of people are like a lot of
- 31:20people are like, why didn't you stop it, Lori Morgan?
- 31:22Why didn't you stop it? Why you can't?
- 31:25Sometimes when somebody's spiraling so far out of control
- 31:27into addiction, there is nothing you and I both know to to make a
- 31:33change. It comes from with comes from
- 31:35within. There's no amount of rehab,
- 31:38there's no amount of anything of your friends.
- 31:40You know, one thing I always find absolutely fascinating, I
- 31:43had a great talk many years ago with Dave Edel of all people.
- 31:47And I know this is going to be a little gruesome.
- 31:49We were talking about suicide and one of the things that he,
- 31:51we had a real honest talk about suicide.
- 31:54And we had said, man, why did that person kill himself?
- 31:58And Dave had the best point ever.
- 32:00And he said people generally don't kill themselves at the
- 32:04very bottom. It's when they're coming up out
- 32:08of it. And he said he made a great
- 32:10point about the fact that they never want to feel that way
- 32:13again. So they they do that.
- 32:17So I thought it was, I thought it was an absolutely fascinating
- 32:19observation. So I think so no matter how much
- 32:22you love somebody, if they're, if they have a bad addiction and
- 32:26they're spiraling out of control, you can only do what
- 32:28you can can do. So I'm I'm crossing fingers and
- 32:31hope that's not the Keith Urban and it's just a booty call thing
- 32:36to put it on the little we got a little got a little deep.
- 32:39I had to put it on a little. I had to put it on a little, you
- 32:41know, little little humor side there.
- 32:43Didn't mean to get so serious, guys.
- 32:45Right. Well, I am.
- 32:46I am disappointed if it is, if it if he is cheating, I am, I, I
- 32:52normally don't don't care about that like that, but I I'm but,
- 32:56but I do feel a little like, oh, come on, man, you're better than
- 32:59that. Right.
- 32:59And it's Nicole Kidman, like who would cheat on?
- 33:02It's just like Zach. Badge and friends.
- 33:04Holly Madison, like him cheating you?
- 33:07It's like you're dating Holly Madison.
- 33:09Like what are you doing cheating on her like that is the dumbest
- 33:12thing ever. Going back to Dave Edel, going
- 33:15back to Dave Edel, who's married to an 11, we all know his wife
- 33:17Sarah absolutely drop dead gorgeous human being, right?
- 33:21And Jack balls are our good buddy Jack.
- 33:23One day he's like, Oh my God, you know, you know how much you
- 33:26know how much he has a, you know, like Sarah Edel, right,
- 33:29Sarah Edel, Sarah Edel to Jack is like, you know, and and I
- 33:33love that Dave had Dave. Dave had the great line.
- 33:37One time he goes, he goes, he goes.
- 33:39I don't care how beautiful somebody is, someone's sick of
- 33:41her shit. Yeah.
- 33:43So, so from a guy and a female perspective, I don't care.
- 33:46You, like you said, I don't care that it's Brad Pitt.
- 33:49Somebody's sick of his shit. Right.
- 33:51Yeah. So so anyway, go you go Tim and
- 33:54face. Stay together, stay together.
- 33:58Okay, let's move on to this Super Bowl halftime show.
- 34:01Announcement. I love it.
- 34:04Which, I mean, I was surprised at who it was, I'm not going to
- 34:07lie, because everybody kept saying it was going to be Taylor
- 34:10Swift. So I was rooting for Taylor
- 34:11Swift because that would have been epic.
- 34:14I but I do love Bad Bunny. I was just surprised that that
- 34:18was the choice for the Super Bowl.
- 34:21What I don't understand is all these people who are losing
- 34:25their minds about it. Like they're saying his music is
- 34:28demonic and he's not from America.
- 34:31It's like Rico. Is it American territory?
- 34:35He's AUS citizen. And that he's and that he sings
- 34:40in Spanish and you know, and everybody had a great point
- 34:42about they were like, well, you didn't get, you didn't get
- 34:44pissed off about Shakira a few years ago.
- 34:47Yes. Because.
- 34:48Because remember, it's 55 year old balding, beer gutted white
- 34:52men, you know what I'm saying? We just want like butt rock or
- 34:55like country music, right? Like, isn't that what they
- 34:57listen to? I don't know.
- 34:59So, so I think the biggest clarification that a lot of
- 35:01people don't realize about this Super Bowl, I, I, I had thought
- 35:04about this before doing the podcast #1 you do not get
- 35:08compensated for the Super. Bowl right you, it's free.
- 35:10You perform, it's for free. Yep.
- 35:12So but but the album sells after you get done skyrocket to where
- 35:16you make a lot of money. So when you when you when so
- 35:19when you're when they're sitting there going well, I want Taylor
- 35:21Swift. Well, she is a billionaire.
- 35:24Well, also, I did in, like, reading all about this because
- 35:29I, I was like, why are these people upset about it?
- 35:32Bad Bunny has had more sales and more listeners than Taylor
- 35:37Swift, so he actually, like outperforms her and beats her
- 35:41And. And I was shocked by that.
- 35:43I didn't realize that. Yeah, I thought Taylor Swift
- 35:45was. Like, well, it's the same thing.
- 35:46She. Beat everyone.
- 35:47It's the same thing as when we when we talk about Rihanna.
- 35:49Rihanna has had more number ones than Madonna.
- 35:52Rihanna's had more number ones than Elvis Presley.
- 35:54You don't think of it like that, but some of these people do.
- 35:57And again, going back to programming radio stations, they
- 36:02already got the 65 year old white guy.
- 36:06Right now they want the 1834 youth.
- 36:09Right. So, so, so bringing out,
- 36:12bringing out Bruce Springsteen, that's your grandpa's music.
- 36:15And I love Bruce Springsteen. I love the Boss born.
- 36:17I love all of that. No, I love all that.
- 36:20But you have got we as a country have got to turn a corner.
- 36:26My my thought is again, like, just because you don't, you
- 36:32know, like the music, understand the music, you know how
- 36:35everything is woke if you don't like it or understand it.
- 36:39And so it's kind of the same thing that's happening with Bad
- 36:41Bunny. Just because you don't listen to
- 36:44him doesn't mean that his music is demonic or he's a horrible
- 36:47person. We all this stuff that they're
- 36:49saying like it's he's just different, different flavors for
- 36:53different people. It you know, it doesn't make him
- 36:56bad. It doesn't.
- 36:57They want him exported back to his country of origin.
- 36:59What I mean, no, they're like, you need to go back to his own
- 37:03country. I know America, America, yes,
- 37:08the the list goes, the list goes on and on.
- 37:10And I will and I'm going to, I'm going to rewind back in time
- 37:13before Michael Jackson and what, 19911992?
- 37:17the Super Bowl entertainment was up with people.
- 37:20It was marching bands. Go back on Wikipedia and they
- 37:24have a list of the acts and you're going to be shocked and
- 37:27tell Michael Jackson. It wasn't like an A list
- 37:31celebrity like. No, no, not no.
- 37:34It was like marching bands. It was high schools.
- 37:37It like the the isn't that crazy.
- 37:40Yeah, that's cool that like these high school marching bands
- 37:43got to be showcased though. Like we'd.
- 37:45Rather have that. The most viewed television
- 37:49program for the year, so. Yeah, so it, that's what blows
- 37:54me away, is that, you know, that people have this, they think
- 38:00that there's always been a superstar performer.
- 38:02Right, right. And I love to.
- 38:05I loved Bad Bunny and when he hosts Saturday Night Live, he's
- 38:09hilarious. And he was in Happy Gilmore too,
- 38:11so he's funny. Yeah, no, Yeah.
- 38:14Oh, he's great. He's great.
- 38:16Yeah. So and again, is that, is that
- 38:19because we're so? Is that because we are so
- 38:23entitled these days? Oh yeah.
- 38:26And again, because we if we don't, because that's not
- 38:31something we listen to or something we're familiar with or
- 38:33something we like that's different that it's woke or
- 38:37demonic or. Whatever.
- 38:39Yeah, Super Bowl. Super Bowl in 1970, it was a
- 38:41tribute to Mardi Gras. 1972, a salute to Louis Armstrong. 1974,
- 38:48A musical America. 1975, A tribute to Duke Ellington.
- 38:55America's bicentennial, of course. 1976 It's a Small World
- 39:00was 1977, Salute to the Caribbean, 1979.
- 39:06So isn't that a salute to the big band era?
- 39:091980 So this does it start sounding like you're idiots,
- 39:14Right. Kaleidoscope was 1983.
- 39:19Yeah. So anyway, yeah, so where's up?
- 39:24Where's up for people? They're in there somewhere.
- 39:26So. Oh, in 19901990 it was a salute
- 39:30to Peanuts, the cartoon strip. Cartoon.
- 39:34Yep, 1991 Small world tribute to 25 years of the Super Bowl.
- 39:39So in 1992 Winter Olympics Winter magic was the but 1993
- 39:48Michael Jackson. And that's what started it all.
- 39:51And then it and Yep. So it wasn't until, Oh my gosh,
- 39:57even going after Michael Jackson Blues Brothers bash, tribute to
- 40:02Motown, tribute of soul, salsa and swing tapestry of nations in
- 40:092000. So what do you got?
- 40:11What do you you know? We're just all spoiled now.
- 40:15We don't know any different so. Yeah.
- 40:18Regardless, it's going to be a fabulous show.
- 40:21You know he is going to bring it, so of course.
- 40:24It's going to be, it's going to be amazing.
- 40:27But it'll be epic. But isn't that the craziest
- 40:30thing? When you, you know, when you see
- 40:33that and you realize that up with people.
- 40:36Yeah. Which we love, don't get me
- 40:38wrong, we love up with people. Yes, yes.
- 40:40But to think that that we are just that, I mean that they have
- 40:44the William Tell Overture. That's The Lone Ranger theme
- 40:47back in 1970. Well, that's right.
- 40:52Yeah. Let's bring that.
- 40:53Come on, Doc Severinsen. OK.
- 40:57You know, come on, guys. So anyway, when the Saints go
- 41:00marching in, was the the set list when the same?
- 41:03Yeah. So come on.
- 41:04So, yeah, the Bad Bunny thing, everybody I get everybody wants
- 41:07Metallica or they want and. And it's amazing.
- 41:10It's like they want what they want.
- 41:12Right. It's almost like politics.
- 41:14It's like politics. It's only what I want.
- 41:17Right. And it's there is so much out
- 41:20there music wise that not everything is going to apply to
- 41:25your taste in music. So let's even let's even talk
- 41:27about radio because because this, I mean, we do a lot of
- 41:30radio stuff on the podcast because because we're from radio
- 41:33is radio stations are not there to break new music anymore that
- 41:39you know, we're there to play the familiar.
- 41:40If it's a hit, we'll play it. So this illusion that radio
- 41:45stations are breaking new music, that's not true.
- 41:48YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, the list goes on.
- 41:53Spotify, especially Spotify, Absolutely.
- 41:56Yeah, absolutely. That's where the new music's
- 41:58breaking. Yeah.
- 41:59So you'll get. So you'll see at my Spotify
- 42:01playlist, they're like, oh, there's a new song from so and
- 42:03so. It would never make it on the
- 42:04radio, but there's new music from whoever.
- 42:07Yeah, so, and, and people are like, you know what?
- 42:10Why doesn't, why doesn't radio play those songs?
- 42:13It's a brand new 38 Special song.
- 42:15Well, sorry, hold on. Loosely was the big hit back in
- 42:18the day. And the rest of it doesn't,
- 42:20doesn't, doesn't, doesn't resonate with the audience, the
- 42:23mass, the mass audience and you. And that's really what it's
- 42:27about. I like what you said earlier.
- 42:29It is about the mass audience. Right.
- 42:31Not just a little slice of. Yes, again, I was shocked that
- 42:38he has outperformed Taylor Swift.
- 42:42We had we had Kendrick Lamar. What was it last year or the
- 42:45year? Before, yes, yeah, yeah.
- 42:47So, so again, I, I understand that, that, you know, they're,
- 42:51they're trying to reach a demographic they already have.
- 42:54They already have one demographic and they're trying
- 42:57to reach another demographic. And, and not necessarily would
- 42:59not necessarily be my taste. I mean, you know me, I'm an 80's
- 43:02pop rock guy. So I'm like, hey man, where's
- 43:05where's Toto out there? Where's Mr. Mr. I'm not, I'm
- 43:09not. We're not so arrogant to go
- 43:12there. There's no reason in hell why
- 43:13Toto or Christopher Cross or Minutwerk are going to be the
- 43:17entertainment that. Would be so hilarious.
- 43:20It would be yes, like what? You know, not because 80% of
- 43:24people like what's this shit? They would even though I'll go
- 43:29to I'll go to Rick Fest all day long.
- 43:30That you know, but I'm I'm one person, right?
- 43:34I'm sure there'll be a lot of Gen.
- 43:36Xers like you, but like that kind of music.
- 43:41I mean, I'm a Gen. Well, I'm a top. 40 guy, so I
- 43:43love it all. So to me, it's like I want to
- 43:45see Sabrina Carpenter would have been great.
- 43:47Oh, definitely. I like, I like a guy named Lola
- 43:50Young. Right now she's got a song
- 43:52called Messy. Love that song Ringer.
- 43:54I mean, there's, there's so many cool songs.
- 43:57Hello. Oh, Chapel, I love Chapel Rowan,
- 44:00and I love I love Benson Boone. Yes.
- 44:03Yeah, Benson Boone, I mean and. He's a show.
- 44:05He's a showman. I mean, he puts on a good show.
- 44:08Yeah, he's very showy. And he's from Washington.
- 44:10So there you go. Yeah, maybe the, you know, we're
- 44:13so arrogant. We should do a Washington.
- 44:15We should have Zach top out there and Benson Boone.
- 44:17Yeah. There.
- 44:19You go, you know who's the most famous people from Washington
- 44:22state. Yeah, there you go.
- 44:24Bring them out in a little Washington state tribute.
- 44:27And Kyle McLaughlin, he could be the announcer.
- 44:29He. Could be the announcer.
- 44:30Absolutely. So.
- 44:32So I'm with you on that. So yeah, we're not we're again,
- 44:35we're not the audience. That's the same with the weekend
- 44:37a few years ago, Kendrick Lamar, Rihanna didn't Rihanna perform
- 44:40when she was pregnant? I think she.
- 44:41Performed when she was pregnant. Well, that's when she revealed
- 44:44that she was pregnant at the. Baby bump.
- 44:46Yeah, she kept it. You know, we had Katy Perry and
- 44:49left Shark and. Yeah, Lady Gaga, which was
- 44:52amazing. I loved it.
- 44:54Oh yeah, Lady Gaga. Lady Gaga does not.
- 44:57She's she does not get enough credit.
- 44:58She is absolutely amazing. Yes, she is.
- 45:01She's. Phenomenal.
- 45:02I'd like to see, I think Kelly Clarkson be great, yeah.
- 45:06She'll be all right. What she's got, she's got, but
- 45:09she has a ton of hits. She'd be, she'd be great.
- 45:11Kelly Clarkson be great. But I think you do.
- 45:13I think you combo people like Kelly Clarkson with somebody.
- 45:15Different. Oh, yeah, yeah, you would
- 45:17definitely need somebody else with her, yeah.
- 45:19Yeah, so, so this, but this dream of having Taylor, I think
- 45:22also from even from Taylor is don't you think people are
- 45:26already tailored out from seeing her?
- 45:28Remember, OK, the nice thing about this year's, because I'm a
- 45:31football fan, the nice thing about this year is we're not
- 45:34scanning to Taylor Swift in the in the box seat all the time.
- 45:37Not yet. Well, well, the Chiefs aren't
- 45:40doing that great this year either, so they're not doing
- 45:41that great. But but it even for me, and as
- 45:44much as I love Taylor, it got old.
- 45:46When I'm watching the football game, it's like, oh, they kept
- 45:48going. I'm like, no, I don't.
- 45:49I don't need to see Taylor. Right, but it was introducing
- 45:52football to a whole different generation and gender, so there
- 45:59you go. But I love the people.
- 46:01But I love the people are so entitled that they think that
- 46:04Metallica or Great Taylor owes, owes them a concert.
- 46:08What they don't, they don't. They don't owe anything.
- 46:11No, no, all right, well, we are running short on time so we
- 46:15won't be able to talk about the KFC thing, but oh, the secret.
- 46:18I have been like head deep in the KFC bucket over that thing
- 46:21but. We can, we can bring that neck,
- 46:24bring that back next week or so because I we're gone.
- 46:26Next week. Well, I but I also let makes it
- 46:29makes me laugh because do you really believe someone's got the
- 46:32secret recipe to Coke or they have the secret recipe to KFC?
- 46:36Well, they're a long lost. I'm a long lost relative of
- 46:39Colonel Sanders and I've got the I'm so mad at him.
- 46:41I got the recipe. Right.
- 46:42Well, you know, I'm invested in this story, so I know you are
- 46:45we'll talk about it. But I want I did want to talk
- 46:48about this. So when I was sorting storage
- 46:52stuff, Shaylee was sorting her Littlest Pet Shop toys and she
- 46:56had made teeny tiny little clay silverware, which remember how
- 47:02great she was with clay? Like she made you, me and
- 47:05seafood. I love.
- 47:09That clay and and then she made like a teeny tiny hot dog and it
- 47:13looked like legit real, which reminded me.
- 47:16So when I was about 7, my mom took me to the craft store and
- 47:23there was kind of similar to this little hot dog.
- 47:26There was a little tiny plastic hot dog.
- 47:28There was a plastic hamburger and a little plastic bottle of
- 47:31coke. Well, I asked my mom if I could
- 47:34have them because in my mind I'm like, this is going to go right
- 47:37with my Barbies. Like this is perfect. 7 year old
- 47:39me was like, this is fabulous. And she said no.
- 47:43And so my mom went on to do her shopping and seven-year old me
- 47:47put them in my pocket. And then when we were getting in
- 47:51the car, they fell out of my pocket and my mom asked, where
- 47:58did you get these? How did you pay for them?
- 48:01And of course I'm just like, you know, blank, trying not to
- 48:05answer because I knew my ass was about to get beat.
- 48:08And she marched me back into that store and made me tell the
- 48:12owners that I had stolen them. And then I started to cry
- 48:16because 7 year old me is thinking the cops are coming.
- 48:19I'm about to be arrested and go to jail.
- 48:21And probably because I was crying and only 7 the store
- 48:24owner was like it's OK right? But don't steal again.
- 48:28And I have never, ever stolen anything ever since then.
- 48:34So yeah, it reminded it like, it made me think of something like
- 48:38Pearl would have done with you. Like, yes, yes.
- 48:45Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So yeah, that was my little
- 48:48story about stealing. My kids never stole anything.
- 48:53They were stolen from 1 was like their own cousin.
- 48:59But Jackson did so remember the Smurf game that was super
- 49:03popular and the kids would play it?
- 49:08Well, Jackson had bought, he bought Smurf berries like $100
- 49:13worth and he was, he was probably only like 9 or 10 at
- 49:16the time, maybe younger. But he said that he didn't
- 49:20realize that he spent $100. Well, recently he has confessed
- 49:25that he didn't know that he was buying them and so if I could
- 49:30have spanked him I would have. But he's 21 years old now, so.
- 49:34We, yeah, we, we had that with, with Kyron, We went through a
- 49:37spell where he, for some reason, the games were linked to Megan's
- 49:41credit card and he would just buy, buy, buy, buy and she'd go
- 49:45$160. What?
- 49:47And she'd just lose her mind and, you know, and, and, and he
- 49:50just kept doing it. He just kept doing it.
- 49:52It was like, you know, acting like he didn't know what he was
- 49:54doing. So to have did you ever steal
- 49:57anything growing up or. Oh, yeah, I got in trouble for
- 50:01it. Sure.
- 50:01Yeah, yeah, I only did it once. Only did it once.
- 50:03So Yep. Oh, yeah, I got in trouble.
- 50:05Oh, yeah, yeah, I did. I, I, I'm, I'm really super
- 50:08embarrassed by it. So I never talked about it.
- 50:10Only. Yeah, it happened.
- 50:11Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
- 50:13I think every, most kids, I'm not going to say every kid.
- 50:16That's not fair. And The funny thing, the best
- 50:20story I have to tell you is Kyron went through a phase and
- 50:24they dressed in camouflage, him and his buddy and went and stole
- 50:28Pokémon cards at Walmart, but they were dressed in camouflage.
- 50:32So I remember getting the call at the fair from Megan, like,
- 50:35you know what my son did? And he's wearing camouflage.
- 50:39He. Thought they weren't going to
- 50:41see. Him, right.
- 50:42So she said, what is that? And she goes, is that the most
- 50:44douchiest thing you've ever heard in your entire life?
- 50:47I thought that was that was funny.
- 50:48It was funny. It is.
- 50:49Right. Yeah.
- 50:50But yeah, no, I remember. Yeah, I had gotten in trouble.
- 50:54I don't ever talk about. I don't ever talk about because
- 50:55it's really embarrassing. But I did get arrested only
- 50:58once. Only once.
- 50:59Yeah. And and and Pearl.
- 51:01Pearl picked me up and I will. I do talk a little bit about it.
- 51:03The book. I don't talk about what I I
- 51:05don't talk about what I did. I just say but but I just.
- 51:09Think you got arrested? I did.
- 51:11Oh yeah. It got expunged.
- 51:13It was only one time ever in my entire life.
- 51:14So. But yeah, I've, I've, yeah, I've
- 51:17been, I've been handcuffed and I've been put in a cruiser.
- 51:21But Pearl picked me up at the police station and I was just
- 51:23crying. I must have been, what, 12-13
- 51:26years old or whatever, just bawling.
- 51:28And she's like, and she goes, well, I guess you'll never do
- 51:31that again. And I'm like, yeah, I know, you
- 51:34know, so. And she goes, well, everybody,
- 51:37everybody gets a mistake. Everybody gets a mistake.
- 51:39And she goes if, if, if it becomes a second mistake, you
- 51:43know, then we got an issue. Yeah, everybody.
- 51:47Yeah, everybody's all. Everybody is allowed to fall
- 51:49down once. Yeah, I yeah, Which I always
- 51:51told the kids, you get one, get out of, Yep, free jail card.
- 51:55But yeah, the second one that you're staying in there like I'm
- 51:59not well, you know, I'm not bailing you out.
- 52:01Yeah, and that's how and that's how I've always looked at it
- 52:03too, from going forward because that that one time was enough
- 52:06for me. I was like, Nope, that's not
- 52:07going to be my life. And never and never did it
- 52:10again, I don't think. And Logan, from what what I
- 52:12know, Logan never did ever have any issue.
- 52:14Never once. But right now he may have but.
- 52:17And you did. He never got but but I yeah, but
- 52:20he's never and we're pretty close and he's never mentioned
- 52:22it to me like he's never. Do you think he.
- 52:24Would tell you like. Yeah, he'd tell me.
- 52:26Oh, I think yeah, one time. Oh my gosh.
- 52:28Oh, you've never found. You've never found lied.
- 52:31About it I knew I knew the first time he had sex because because
- 52:34he because up until that moment he was talking about it like a
- 52:38131415 whatever he was non-stop talking about because he and I
- 52:42have that relationship where we can talk about stuff.
- 52:45And then one day he just didn't say anything about it.
- 52:47And I looked over at him like, oh, and he goes wood, Doug wood.
- 52:52I'm like, well, I know what you did.
- 52:53I. Don't know what talk about.
- 52:55I don't know what you're talking about.
- 52:56So. So, yeah, See what if he had
- 52:58done that, I know he would have told me he had done that.
- 53:00Especially. Especially by now that he's an
- 53:02adult, like you said, like Jackson.
- 53:03Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
- 53:05By the way, Mom, I know I did this.
- 53:06Yeah. Yeah, which we were talking
- 53:08about stupid shit that they've done when they were little.
- 53:11And he, that's when he confessed to it.
- 53:13And I again, if I could have spanked him now, I would have,
- 53:17yeah. Logan did.
- 53:19Logan did something like similar to Jackson was in the middle of
- 53:22the night when he was staying with me.
- 53:23He goes, hey, dad, I'm going to get some protein powder.
- 53:25I'm going to bulk up. And I'm like, I'm, I'm sleeping
- 53:28like, oh, yeah, yeah, whatever goes, I need, I need you to use
- 53:30your credit card. I'm like, OK, yeah, whatever.
- 53:32Let me go back to bed. Right, $165 later, I get a call
- 53:37from my bank. Like, hey, it looks like you
- 53:39tried to make a purchase from England or you know, you know,
- 53:43and they go we did not. We denied it and I went son of A
- 53:46and I went Logan, you get in here.
- 53:48What what good? What were you trying to brought
- 53:50buy protein powder. I told you I was going to buy
- 53:52it. From.
- 53:53England they wouldn't take your credit card, but I was trying
- 53:55I'm. Like who buys protein powder
- 54:00from England? Luckily the bank flagged it.
- 54:04Like why? Why?
- 54:05Yeah, like, you know, I'm sure it would have been a scam.
- 54:08I was. So anyway.
- 54:09Was he trying to watch a porn or something?
- 54:11Like what is he doing with this? Credit No, he was he was in this
- 54:15he was in this weight loss health, he was in a health phase
- 54:18basically right. He was probably, what, 16 years
- 54:21old? And I need to bulk up.
- 54:23So. So yeah, I think that that'll
- 54:27make that'll make a good podcast someday with some crazy.
- 54:29Stories like that. Yeah, definitely.
- 54:31All right. Well, we are off next week as
