- 2:41little cafe place.

- 2:46on Montville, that's V-I-L-L-E,
- 2:51New Jersey.
- 2:52And, yep, they have a lot of interesting
- 2:54things, and what I can see on their
- 2:55website here, they've got flaky, crispy cornettos, fresh,
- 3:03crunchy paninis.
- 3:06So, yeah, very interesting menu they have here.
- 3:10So you probably want to check that out.
- 3:11Of course, they have all kinds of different
- 3:13items on their menu.
- 3:15They have specialty drinks.
- 3:18So it looks like an interesting kind of
- 3:19place.
- 3:19But the reason I'm here is I want

- 3:59.com.
- 4:01All right, guys, let's get right in the
- 4:03show, because I know you guys are interested,
- 4:05and so am I.
- 4:06So this, ladies and gentlemen, is Inspirations for
- 4:08Your Life, and this whole week is building
- 4:12a life that truly matters, series five, show
- 4:15number 32.
- 4:16So I think that's an important thing for
- 4:19us to realize and us to recognize.
- 4:22You know, we become what we think about
- 4:25most often.
- 4:26Neil, was it Dale Carnegie said a lot
- 4:29of good things, but Nightingale Cone is the
- 4:31one that said we become what we think
- 4:32about most often.
- 4:34I think that's an important piece that a
- 4:36lot of people don't realize.
- 4:37Our thoughts create our reality.
- 4:40Every single day of our life, our thoughts
- 4:42create our reality, and that's something I think
- 4:44that a lot of people, for whatever reason,
- 4:46they just sort of miss it.
- 4:48They don't realize that their thoughts have that
- 4:50much power, but they have so much power,
- 4:53guys.
- 4:53I mean, so very, very much power.
- 4:57So let's get into the show, shall we?
- 4:59Today's granular topic is how to multiply your
- 5:02potential, series five, show 32, episode six.
- 5:06And this is Thursday.
- 5:07Welcome, everyone, to the ever popular Inspirations for
- 5:11Your Life show.
- 5:12I am John Seymour, serial entrepreneur, engineer, marketing
- 5:17specialist, video producer, podcast host, coach, keynote speaker,
- 5:21graduate student at Montclair State University, a passionate
- 5:24lifelong learner.
- 5:26And yes, I am so grateful to now
- 5:30be a published author.
- 5:32Welcome, everyone.
- 5:34You see, potential isn't something you simply possess,
- 5:37although a lot of people think that's how
- 5:38it works.
- 5:38But that's not really true.
- 5:41It's something you develop.
- 5:44You're not born with it.
- 5:46Every skill you learn, challenge you accept, an
- 5:49action you take expands what you're capable of
- 5:52doing.
- 5:53So today I'm exploring how to stop waiting
- 5:56for more and start multiplying what you already
- 6:01have in your life.
- 6:03Let's get started.
- 6:04Number one, I think most people don't realize
- 6:07this.
- 6:07You have to learn how to use what
- 6:09you have.
- 6:10Use what you have.
- 6:13Stop focusing on what's missing.
- 6:16Your current knowledge, experience, talents and relationships already
- 6:21give you somewhere to begin.
- 6:24Number two, stop waiting.
- 6:27Perfect conditions rarely arrive.
- 6:30Progress begins when you decide that what you
- 6:33have today is enough to take the first
- 6:36step.
- 6:37Number three, build your strengths.
- 6:40Know what you do well and develop it.
- 6:44Strength becomes an advantage when you deliberately practice
- 6:49and improve it.
- 6:51Number four, guys, learn new skills.
- 6:54Every new skill expands your options.
- 6:57Stay curious and keep adding abilities that prepare
- 7:00you for opportunities you cannot yet see.
- 7:05I think that's an important thing for us
- 7:08to realize and something that we have to
- 7:12be, I'm going to say, aware of.
- 7:15Number five, guys, invest your talents.
- 7:18Don't leave your abilities unused.
- 7:20Put them into projects, relationships, work and causes
- 7:25where they can create real value for you
- 7:27and others.
- 7:28Number six, learn how to think bigger.
- 7:32Your current circumstances don't determine your ultimate capacity.
- 7:37Give yourself permission to imagine goals that require
- 7:41you to grow.
- 7:42Number seven, share your knowledge.
- 7:45What you learned can help someone else.
- 7:49Teaching and mentoring also sharpen your own understanding.
- 7:55Number eight, guys, build confidence.
- 7:58Confidence follows evidence.
- 8:01Each time you prepare, act and accomplish something
- 8:05difficult, you give yourself another reason to trust
- 8:09your abilities.
- 8:12Number nine, stay adaptable.
- 8:15Plans change, markets change, life changes.
- 8:20Your ability to adjust without abandoning your purpose
- 8:24keeps new possibilities open.
- 8:26So let's be aware of that.
- 8:27Number 10, keep improving.
- 8:31You don't need dramatic transformation on every day
- 8:35of your life.
- 8:36Some improvements, repeated consistently, can create tremendous change.
- 8:43Number 11, create opportunities.
- 8:46Don't only wait for doors to open.
- 8:50Solve problems, meet people, contribute ideas and create
- 8:54reasons for opportunities to find you.
- 8:58Number 12, believe in growth.
- 9:01Who you are today isn't the limit of
- 9:04who you can become.
- 9:06Skills, confidence, judgment and experience can all be
- 9:12developed.
- 9:14Number 13, stay disciplined, everyone.
- 9:18Motivation starts things.
- 9:19Discipline keeps them going, right?
- 9:22Build routines that continue working even when excitement
- 9:26disappears or wanes for a bit.
- 9:30Number 14, guys, learn continuously.
- 9:33I know a lot of people, they've learned
- 9:35and they're like, okay, I'm done learning.
- 9:38Right?
- 9:39They're done learning.
- 9:40I think that's a hard thing for a
- 9:42lot of people to understand is that they're
- 9:46actually done learning.
- 9:49You're not.
- 9:50Education never really ends.
- 9:53Read, listen, ask questions, experiment and remain willing
- 9:57to change your thinking when you learn something
- 10:00better.
- 10:03Number 15, solve bigger problems.
- 10:06Your value grows when your ability to solve
- 10:09meaningful problems grows.
- 10:12Don't automatically void difficult challenges.
- 10:17Some of them may reveal your greatest potentials.
- 10:21Number 16, build resilience.
- 10:24Now, building resilience is not something I just
- 10:26tell you to do.
- 10:27It's something you have to understand.
- 10:30Resilience doesn't mean that you're going to be
- 10:31the best at everything.
- 10:32Resilience means that when something doesn't work, you
- 10:35know how to get back on the stage
- 10:37and do it again and again and again.
- 10:40I think that's a very important thing that
- 10:44many of you don't realize.
- 10:45It's not how many times you fall, it's
- 10:48how many times you get back up.
- 10:51Every setback has something to teach you if
- 10:54you're willing to learn.
- 10:55The question I have for you is, are
- 10:57you really willing to learn or are you
- 10:59just saying you're willing to learn, but then
- 11:01when it comes time to learn, you really
- 11:03don't learn?
- 11:04I think that's an important thing that can
- 11:08keep you from basically becoming successful, guys.
- 11:13It can keep you from becoming successful.
- 11:15I think that's something many people here, they
- 11:18just don't get it.
- 11:19They don't understand that you have to show
- 11:22up for yourself day in and day out.
- 11:23You don't just do it one time and
- 11:24then say, oh, that didn't work for me.
- 11:27See, that's not what creates, that's not what
- 11:30fosters success over time.
- 11:34Success happens because we do the right thing
- 11:39over and over again, even when no one
- 11:42else is watching.
- 11:43All right, so what we have to understand,
- 11:48guys, is that resilience isn't avoiding failure.
- 11:51It's choosing to get back up with more
- 11:53wisdom than you had before.
- 11:56The stronger your resilience becomes, the greater your
- 11:59potential grows because you see obstacles become opportunities
- 12:03instead of excuses.
- 12:06Number 17, I can't emphasize this enough, stay,
- 12:12stay, stay focused, stay focused on everything you
- 12:18do.
- 12:19You see, ladies and gentlemen, your attention is
- 12:21one of your greatest assets.
- 12:24Don't allow distractions to steal your energy or
- 12:27your purpose in life.
- 12:30Focus on the work that moves you closer
- 12:34to your goals and avoid spending time on
- 12:38things that add little value to your life.
- 12:41Number 18, guys, work consistently.
- 12:44I know this is something you've heard many
- 12:45times, but do you do it?
- 12:47Do you do the right thing or do
- 12:49you just kind of do it when it's
- 12:51convenient?
- 12:52And I know a lot of people, they
- 12:53just do things when it's convenient.
- 12:55So learn to work consistently, okay, consistently.
- 13:00That's a key.
- 13:01And so success isn't built in a day.
- 13:04It's not built in an hour.
- 13:05It's not built in a week.
- 13:07May not even be built in a month,
- 13:09okay?
- 13:10It's built one day at a time.
- 13:12Showing up consistently creates progress that occasional bursts
- 13:16of effort never will.
- 13:19Small actions performed faithfully produce remarkable long-term
- 13:24results.
- 13:26So if you're looking for the quick win,
- 13:29this isn't it, okay?
- 13:31You've got to understand how things work in
- 13:34your life.
- 13:35And you've got to know how to be
- 13:38a chameleon so you can adapt with things.
- 13:41Okay, I think that's important for all of
- 13:44us to understand, okay?
- 13:48That's a very important thing.
- 13:51Number 19, guys, build momentum.
- 13:55You see, one success often leads to another.
- 14:01Every positive habit, completed task and goal achieved
- 14:05creates confidence for the next challenge.
- 14:10Protect your momentum because it becomes easier to
- 14:13keep moving once you're already in motion.
- 14:16Number 20, guys, encourage others.
- 14:20Helping someone else grow doesn't reduce your success.
- 14:26It expands it.
- 14:30Sharing your experiences offer encouragement and celebrate the
- 14:35accomplishments of others.
- 14:37When everyone grows, everyone benefits.
- 14:42Number 21, grow every day.
- 14:45Now, I don't say to do this only
- 14:46in words.
- 14:47I say to do this in who you
- 14:51are, right?
- 15:00I think that's an important piece that many
- 15:02people don't understand.
- 15:06That's a very important thing to understand.
- 15:10Never, never, never, never stop, guys, becoming a
- 15:13better version of yourself.
- 15:17Read something valuable.
- 15:19Listen to something.
- 15:20Practice a new skill.
- 15:21Ask thoughtful questions or reflect on what you've
- 15:26learned.
- 15:27Daily growth compounds into extraordinary personal development.
- 15:3322, stay optimistic.
- 15:38Optimism allows you to see possibilities instead of
- 15:42limitations.
- 15:43It doesn't ignore challenges.
- 15:46It believes challenges can be overcome through effort,
- 15:52creativity, and persistence.
- 15:55Your attitude influences every opportunity you pursue.
- 16:00And that's the first thing we have to
- 16:01realize is that is the case.
- 16:04But just because you're not seeing an answer
- 16:06or you're not seeing what you want right
- 16:09now doesn't mean you should stop doing what
- 16:11you're doing.
- 16:13I already told you things don't happen overnight.
- 16:15I think I've told you that quite a
- 16:16few times, all right?
- 16:19So challenge yourself, number 23.
- 16:22Comfort rarely creates growth.
- 16:26Growth lies where it's uncomfortable.
- 16:30Step outside, step beyond what feels familiar, and
- 16:33embrace opportunities that stretch your abilities.
- 16:37You see, ladies and gentlemen, every challenge expands
- 16:39your confidence and prepares you for greater responsibilities.
- 16:47You know, sometimes we don't know what we're
- 16:49preparing for, but we know that we're getting
- 16:52ready for something better, something bigger, something with
- 16:55even more value to us, okay?
- 17:02That's a key, guys.
- 17:04That's a huge, huge key.
- 17:06Number 24, keep moving forward.
- 17:10There will be days when progress feels slow.
- 17:14But don't mistake slow progress for failure.
- 17:19Continue taking one step after another.
- 17:23Forward movement, no matter how small, is still
- 17:27progress.
- 17:30Number 25, guys, success multiplies effort.
- 17:35So if you were bad at something, you
- 17:39can multiply that, but you don't want to
- 17:40do that.
- 17:40You want to multiply success.
- 17:45Okay?
- 17:47You want to multiply success.
- 17:50Success multiplies the effort.
- 17:52Meaningful success is earned through consistent work over
- 17:57time.
- 18:00Every hour invested, every lesson learned, and every
- 18:04obstacle overcome adds to the foundation you're building
- 18:09for the future of your life and others.
- 18:12I think sometimes we get frustrated because what
- 18:16we expect is not here yet.
- 18:18That's probably one of the biggest things I
- 18:19can tell you.
- 18:20It's not here yet.
- 18:22But it doesn't mean it's never going to
- 18:23come.
- 18:24It just means it's not here yet, right?
- 18:28Doesn't mean we've stopped.
- 18:31And so a lot of people think that,
- 18:34you know, you just walk in and it's
- 18:36solved for you.
- 18:37It doesn't work like that, unfortunately.
- 18:40You know, your mind has to be positive,
- 18:43number one.
- 18:43And when you're positive, it's like you're priming
- 18:46the pump so it's ready to be able
- 18:48to grab something when it's there.
- 18:50When your mind senses it, it's ready to
- 18:53basically, you know, act on it.
- 18:57Okay?
- 19:01That's pretty cool, but it can make a
- 19:07big difference.
- 19:13And if we know that, then we can
- 19:16make a big, big change.
- 19:20Okay?
- 19:21Number 26, guys, build lasting habits.
- 19:27Your habits determine your direction.
- 19:32Develop routines that strengthen your health, improve your
- 19:35thinking, increase your knowledge, and support your purpose.
- 19:41You see, positive habits make success sustainable.
- 19:49I think once we start to see success,
- 19:52we start to experience this, like, wait a
- 19:53minute, I can do this.
- 19:54I actually can do this.
- 19:55This is not as hard as I thought
- 19:56it was going to be, right?
- 20:00That's an important thing, right?
- 20:07That's a very important thing to understand.
- 20:11If you understand that, then maybe you can
- 20:14understand, like, why we're doing something a certain
- 20:17way, right?
- 20:22But maybe you're saying to me, John, I
- 20:24don't know what to do.
- 20:26All I know is what I'm doing right
- 20:27now doesn't seem to be working for me.
- 20:30And, you know, that's okay.
- 20:35That's absolutely a-okay, all right?
- 20:38But I want to tell you that sometimes
- 20:41things can be easy and sometimes they're not.
- 20:48But when things have discomfort, guess what happens?
- 20:50We decide and we grow.
- 20:57We decide and we grow.
- 21:02That's a very important thing to know, right?
- 21:15I think sometimes, like I said, we just
- 21:19get stuck.
- 21:26And I say we get stuck because I
- 21:33think it comes down to our belief pattern,
- 21:39all right?
- 21:40Our belief pattern.
- 21:42Our belief pattern makes a huge, huge difference
- 21:45in our lives and other people's lives, okay?
- 21:51That's an important thing that I want to
- 21:52share with you.
- 21:53Number 27, invest wisely.
- 21:57Time, energy, and attention are limited resources.
- 22:02Invest them in relationships, education, personal growth, and
- 22:06opportunities that create lasting value instead of temporary
- 22:10satisfaction.
- 22:12Number 28, create meaningful impact.
- 22:15True potential isn't measured only by personal achievement.
- 22:20It's measured by the positive influence you have
- 22:24on others.
- 22:25Leave every person, project, and community better because
- 22:29you were part of it.
- 22:32Number 29, reach your potential.
- 22:35Reach it.
- 22:37Don't compare yourself to someone else's journey.
- 22:42Measure your progress against who you were yesterday.
- 22:51Becoming your best self is the greatest success
- 22:55you'll ever achieve, okay?
- 23:01Number 30, guys, great things grow from small
- 23:05beginnings.
- 23:07Every great accomplishment starts with one decision to
- 23:12begin.
- 23:13Don't underestimate small actions, daily discipline, and consistent
- 23:22effort.
- 23:23What seems significant today may become the foundation
- 23:26of something extraordinary tomorrow.
- 23:30And I hope that that's going to make
- 23:32a change for your life.
- 23:33If it doesn't, then you got to see
- 23:36what resonates with you, right?
- 23:38You can't just do something because you think
- 23:41that's what you should be doing, okay?
- 23:44As I get ready to close this up,
- 23:47multiplying your potential isn't about becoming someone you're
- 23:51not.
- 23:52It's about becoming more of the person you're
- 23:55capable of being.
- 23:57Every day gives you another opportunity to learn,
- 24:00improve, encourage others, solve problems, and grow stronger
- 24:04than you were yesterday.
- 24:08Ladies and gentlemen, never ever underestimate the power
- 24:12of consistent effort, right?
- 24:16Consistent effort is something that a lot of
- 24:18people say, oh, I've done that before.
- 24:20But then they really haven't done it.
- 24:21They think they've done it, but they really
- 24:24haven't, right?
- 24:29That's important.
- 24:31Keep learning, stay disciplined, build healthy habits, invest
- 24:36in yourself.
- 24:38Most importantly, remember that your greatest limitations are
- 24:42often the ones you place on yourself.
- 24:47And hopefully that'll get you to think, I'm
- 24:49going to say a little bit more outside
- 24:51the box.
- 24:54And when you can start doing that, I
- 24:57think the potential is pretty much limitless.
- 25:03It's pretty much limitless.
- 25:07Choose to believe, ladies and gentlemen, that your
- 25:10best days are still ahead because every step
- 25:14forward multiplies your ability to make a meaningful
- 25:17difference.
- 25:20Have you thought about that before?
- 25:22Or is this just sort of something you're
- 25:24hearing the first time?
- 25:25If you're hearing it the first time, no
- 25:26big deal.
- 25:28It's got to sink in.
- 25:29Maybe you've heard it a couple of times
- 25:31before, right?
- 25:33But I think it's important to understand why
- 25:36something is a certain way.
- 25:38Or why it isn't a certain way.
- 25:44That's a key, guys.
- 25:46That is a real key in life.
- 25:49Ladies and gentlemen, I thank you so much
- 25:52for choosing to join me here for another
- 25:54amazing episode of The Ever Popular Inspirations For
- 25:58Your Life.
- 26:00I am John C.
- 26:03Morley, serial entrepreneur, engineer, marketing specialist, video producer,
- 26:11podcast host, coach, keynote speaker, graduate student at
- 26:16Montclair State University, a passionate lifelong learner.
- 26:22And so grateful now to be a published
- 26:25author.
- 26:28A lot of things we talked about tonight,
- 26:30hopefully will get you to think about something
- 26:31differently.
- 26:32But most importantly, I'm hoping it'll get you
- 26:34to change your perspective so that you can
- 26:36become the person you've been wanting to.
- 26:42You see, it's your limitations that are holding
- 26:45you back.
- 26:45It may not be anybody else.
- 26:47It's actually something you're putting on yourself.
- 26:49And I think that's an important thing for
- 26:51us to recognize.
- 26:53Ladies and gentlemen, until next time, please remember
- 26:57that your potential isn't determined by where you
- 27:02started.
- 27:03Many people think it is, but it's not.
- 27:05It is determined by your willingness to keep
- 27:09growing.
- 27:11Start today, stay consistent.
- 27:17Believe in yourself and continue building a life
- 27:20that truly matters.
- 27:24But if you're on the fence and saying,
- 27:26John, I don't know if this matters or
- 27:27not, ask yourself one question.
- 27:32Does this or do these things align with
- 27:35my core values?
- 27:39Yes or no?
- 27:46Do they, yes or no?
- 27:51If they don't, then you probably should change
- 27:56what you're doing in life.
- 27:57To change how you're acting.
