- 0:29SPEAKER_02: Now let's get into it.
- 0:35SPEAKER_00: Do you like my glasses?
- 0:37SPEAKER_02: There's a story behind this.
- 0:40SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 0:41SPEAKER_00: But everybody, welcome to Beyond the White Coke podcast.
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: Our first one.
- 0:46SPEAKER_00: Yes, yes.
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: Let me grab this.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: No, you're good.
- 0:49SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna go share.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: I think you're fine.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: Okay, I'm just gonna hold this like this.
- 0:52SPEAKER_00: So, first podcast back from B3 Summit Megan.
- 0:56SPEAKER_02: And we're sitting on the couch having a glass of wine because you guys know in true BTRA just beat the heck out of my face.
- 1:05SPEAKER_02: So it let me just I'm getting this very accurate.
- 1:08SPEAKER_02: It is 6 43 p.m.
- 1:11SPEAKER_02: I got in her chair at 4 p.m.
- 1:15SPEAKER_02: We didn't honestly didn't start until like 4 30 because we were just talking.
- 1:19SPEAKER_02: This is the first time we've seen each other.
- 1:21SPEAKER_02: Two hours.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: No, Megan, stop being dramatic.
- 1:25SPEAKER_02: Two hours.
- 1:26SPEAKER_00: No.
- 1:26SPEAKER_02: Let's just talk.
- 1:27SPEAKER_02: Can we just do a little recap of what we did?
- 1:29SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 1:29SPEAKER_02: A lot, you guys.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: So I see Megan pop up on my schedule, and I'm like, okay, this is this is the time that we're um maintaining your sculpture because we try to do it.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: Twice a year, right?
- 1:41SPEAKER_00: And then we did some threads as well.
- 1:43SPEAKER_00: So PDO threads are one of my favorite things to approach the social around my mouth and my favorite one.
- 1:51SPEAKER_02: So if you are sleeping on, I know some people don't love threads and they don't think they work.
- 1:55SPEAKER_02: One, I disagree with you.
- 1:57SPEAKER_02: Probably it's a technique thing.
- 1:58SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 1:59SPEAKER_02: I don't know what I'm talking about.
- 1:59SPEAKER_02: I'm just a patient.
- 2:00SPEAKER_02: But I will say you probably have not had them in your neck.
- 2:03SPEAKER_02: That it's a physical feeling once they settle in of tightness.
- 2:07SPEAKER_02: And it's rare that anything in aesthetics you can actually be like, oh, I feel because you don't you don't feel your tox unless you sneeze, right?
- 2:15SPEAKER_02: But when you're walking around day to day, you don't like feel your Botox.
- 2:18SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 2:19SPEAKER_02: You know what I mean?
- 2:20SPEAKER_02: But threads in your neck, you feel all the time because you're like, oh wow.
- 2:23SPEAKER_02: Like I feel like it's like the wind is like blowing my face back.
- 2:27SPEAKER_02: Okay, sorry.
- 2:28SPEAKER_02: So we did threads.
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: I guess we did neurotoxin, your maintenance.
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: I needed that so bad.
- 2:34SPEAKER_00: Well, I think let's address why you got threads.
- 2:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 2:39SPEAKER_00: I think everybody, like, you know, if you were at the B3 Summit or if you listen to our podcast, you know that sculpture is one of my favorite things.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: And we tackled kind of the new clinical research that's coming out about uh adipocyte simulation, how it really helps with patients who have GLP1.
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: But generally speaking, oh, zombie face.
- 2:59SPEAKER_00: So we know that uh sculpture is one of my favorite tools in my toy box in regards to stimulating collagen, tightening the skin.
- 3:07SPEAKER_00: But then there's also areas that we I would I wouldn't say it's not safe, but there's different planes in the face that stimulate collagen.
- 3:16SPEAKER_00: And these tiny little PDO threads are great for superficial stimulation or areas of what we call dynamic movement where we want to be a little bit careful about where we place the sculpture because as you're moving, the beads can get dispersed and kind of lodged in that area.
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: So we try to just be as safe as we can.
- 3:34SPEAKER_00: So PDO threads are great for around the mouth.
- 3:37SPEAKER_00: And one of my favorite places, which you love, is in that transition zone from uh your submental down to the neck area.
- 3:45SPEAKER_02: So like below your chin.
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: And I think that's actually probably the most favorite treatment.
- 3:51SPEAKER_00: This, I mean, I know the month just started, but I cannot tell you how many patients are coming in for that transitional change from the cemental to the neck area.
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: And people ask me all the time, like, oh my God, like I just look down and I'm noticing like these changes in my neck.
- 4:07SPEAKER_00: Well, this has been happening for how many ever decades of life that you're alive.
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: But the other thing is that we know in the submental area, there's two types of different fat.
- 4:19SPEAKER_00: So when people are talking about, like, oh, my neck is changing, I'm feeling like you know, I'm a little bit fuller in the neck area.
- 4:26SPEAKER_00: Well, what can happen with weight changes is there's uh pre-uh platismal fat and post platismal fat.
- 4:34SPEAKER_00: And so if you're losing weight or if you're getting older, your fat pads can change, right?
- 4:40SPEAKER_00: And so I get saggy.
- 4:41SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 4:42SPEAKER_00: So that pre-platisma fat, if you have a disposition or genetic disposition, it can have hyperplasia in the fat, or you can have weight loss and you lose that in that transitional area in the neck is really prevalent.
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: So this is for you.
- 4:58SPEAKER_00: We did, yeah.
- 4:59SPEAKER_00: For you, you are freaking marathon runners, tiny and petite, and we just want to approach that.
- 5:06SPEAKER_02: My skin is sagging.
- 5:07SPEAKER_02: You know what I feel the most right now?
- 5:09SPEAKER_02: I and we just did it.
- 5:10SPEAKER_02: I already can't flare my nose.
- 5:12SPEAKER_02: I think they'll take she puts toxin in my nose.
- 5:15SPEAKER_02: So I will tell you, it is the most painful of all the stuff we do, is getting, and it takes one second, but it's something I do secretly love because I will say, in pictures of myself, like my profile looks so much better with having the toxin.
- 5:29SPEAKER_02: And then we flooded my cheeks, which they're nice and bruised with sculptra, which was great.
- 5:35SPEAKER_02: It's our favorite, but all right, let's talk about oh my god, let's go back.
- 5:39SPEAKER_02: Let's go back.
- 5:40SPEAKER_02: B3 summit was fabulous for all of you who came.
- 5:45SPEAKER_02: Thank you.
- 5:46SPEAKER_02: We love you for all of you who gave a talk.
- 5:48SPEAKER_02: Thank you.
- 5:49SPEAKER_02: We love you for all of our staff.
- 5:51SPEAKER_02: Thank you.
- 5:52SPEAKER_02: We love you more.
- 5:53SPEAKER_02: Um, yeah, just amazing.
- 5:55SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it was great.
- 5:56SPEAKER_00: So, Megan, I want to ask you something.
- 5:58SPEAKER_00: Uh so a silly question.
- 6:00SPEAKER_00: That way you don't have to hold it so close there.
- 6:03SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 6:03SPEAKER_00: So, yep, I was reflecting.
- 6:05SPEAKER_00: So, you sent me a drop box of all the pictures from the summit.
- 6:08SPEAKER_00: And so, as I was looking at them, I started reflecting on like how I was feeling in that moment.
- 6:13SPEAKER_00: And I thought about something that I wanted to talk about in terms of what triggers growth for you, right?
- 6:21SPEAKER_00: And so for me, I thought, God, my love for the artistry of injecting a patient.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: So one syringe has grown into relationship building, building businesses, building friendships, and building new opportunities.
- 6:38SPEAKER_00: And so I don't know if you can even think this quickly, but what is one tiny thing that could be the catalyst for the changes that you saw coming or the growth that you had in your life?
- 6:49SPEAKER_02: The catalyst, I would probably say when I was in high school, when I going into my senior year, so my mom always tells this story that I was an okay student, I but I wasn't killing it.
- 7:01SPEAKER_02: And I wasn't killing it honestly because I wasn't applying myself.
- 7:04SPEAKER_02: It's because I was playing competitive soccer, I was doing other things, I was social, and I just literally mean I'll just be honest, I was lazy.
- 7:11SPEAKER_02: Like I just didn't have that drive.
- 7:13SPEAKER_02: In my junior year, going into my senior year, I had a catastrophic injury, stopped playing soccer, and I was like, you know what?
- 7:20SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna double down on school.
- 7:22SPEAKER_02: Like, I need to build a career for myself, blah, blah, blah.
- 7:24SPEAKER_02: I don't know what it is.
- 7:25SPEAKER_02: Like it really lit a fire.
- 7:27SPEAKER_02: And I got a 4.0 my entire senior year.
- 7:31SPEAKER_02: My parents were like, was that in there the whole time?
- 7:33SPEAKER_02: Or like, what happened?
- 7:35SPEAKER_02: I was like, no, I'm not gonna be a piece of shit anymore.
- 7:37SPEAKER_02: Like, I'm gonna apply myself.
- 7:39SPEAKER_02: Then I went to Ohio State Nursing and they have a less than 5% acceptance rate.
- 7:42SPEAKER_02: And I was like, no, no, it doesn't matter.
- 7:44SPEAKER_02: Like, I'm gonna do it.
- 7:45SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 7:45SPEAKER_02: And so that was really the catalyst was like almost like this fear, and I was young, I was 17 of like, I'm a piece of shit, I don't apply myself, I don't work hard, and I'm gonna change that narrative.
- 7:57SPEAKER_02: And really ever since then, and I'm now almost oh yeah, I am a grinder.
- 8:00SPEAKER_02: That's why I run marathons.
- 8:02SPEAKER_02: I have no talent, I don't have a single shred of talent in my body.
- 8:07SPEAKER_02: But what I will do is I will outwork everyone around me.
- 8:11SPEAKER_02: What about you?
- 8:12SPEAKER_00: I think honestly, it comes comes down to everybody asks me, like, when do I rest?
- 8:17SPEAKER_00: And I don't think I think it's trauma, honestly, from my childhood.
- 8:20SPEAKER_00: I'm sure.
- 8:22SPEAKER_00: I think it's it's survivor's guilt.
- 8:24SPEAKER_00: So if you guys know the story and we talked about she's born in the jungle, jungle of Cambodia, which is so fun.
- 8:30SPEAKER_02: She's a political refugee, yeah.
- 8:33SPEAKER_00: So I feel guilty for sometimes even being alive because there's so many people that lost their lives and want the life that I want.
- 8:41SPEAKER_00: But you have to feel worthy.
- 8:43SPEAKER_00: I feel good about where I'm at and what I'm working towards and the relationships that I built because I think I finally got to a place in my life where I am so proud of the relationships and the businesses and the friendships because I feel like these are the things they talk about when you start, I don't want to say elevating, but when you start growing, you lose a lot of weight along the way.
- 9:06SPEAKER_00: And somebody said to me the other day, like, Charia, you look like you're at peace.
- 9:11SPEAKER_00: And I said, I think that I found my tribe.
- 9:14SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 9:15SPEAKER_00: And I feel like my tribe accepts me for exactly who I am, whether it's good or it's bad.
- 9:22SPEAKER_00: I feel like I finally got to a place where I feel good and confident about whatever I choose to do.
- 9:28SPEAKER_00: I feel like it's from an internal North Star that sits and is very aligned with how I am spiritually.
- 9:35SPEAKER_02: I also think you, yeah, I mean, like you said, you're finding your tribe, you're finding healthy partnerships.
- 9:42SPEAKER_02: We won't go into detail, she won't let me disclose.
- 9:45SPEAKER_02: But I mean, I think there are people in your life who are making you very happy and making you feel deserved and well loved.
- 9:50SPEAKER_00: And yes, and I'm gr very grateful for that because I think, you know, I was talking to one of my patients today, and I don't I sometimes like my patients are so generous in the things that they're going through, and it just allows me to be just as vulnerable when they sit in my chair and they're vulnerable with me.
- 10:09SPEAKER_00: But I was actually vulnerable to one of my patients, and I try not to be because you know, like I'm the provider and I they don't need to they're coming in to get help, whether you know, sometimes it's you know, you think it's like you know, aesthetics, but sometimes you find out the root cause is deeper, and and then I'm you know, sending them to you or whatever.
- 10:29SPEAKER_00: But today I was a little bit vulnerable because you know, my my mom made a comment to me about I don't think I even shared this with you about a month and a half ago.
- 10:38SPEAKER_00: My mom gave me a call, and you know, in my culture, we don't really talk about relationships, like we don't emotion.
- 10:46SPEAKER_00: It's very like black and white.
- 10:48SPEAKER_00: And she said, Hey, you know, my dad, I I'm sure if you've listened, you you know that my father has Parkinson's.
- 10:55SPEAKER_00: And one of the reasons why I came back to northern Kentucky to open up Hugh at this location, but my mom said, Hey, your dad made a comment about you.
- 11:05SPEAKER_00: And, you know, generally it's based off of like merit, like what I've done or what I'm trying to achieve.
- 11:11SPEAKER_00: But this time he said that he's a little bit nervous about what my future looks like because I think he's recognizing that he can't be my hero and what that looks like for him moving in the future because my sisters are married and I'm not, and so I it kind of made me sit and reflect about my friends and their relationships, like with you and David.
- 11:33SPEAKER_00: I think I shared that with you today, and how much you know I envy that and I'm so happy for you because you found such an incredible partner.
- 11:41SPEAKER_02: But he's gonna murder me when he sees my face, so I wanna be clear.
- 11:46SPEAKER_02: I'm literally warned him.
- 11:48SPEAKER_02: We warned him.
- 11:49SPEAKER_02: I so a hundred percent I told you.
- 11:52SPEAKER_02: Yep, I reminded him last night and he said, I don't know why you do that to your face, but I I told you he did give you a compliment.
- 11:59SPEAKER_02: He said, he goes, your skin looks better now than it ever has.
- 12:03SPEAKER_02: So he was fine with it.
- 12:05SPEAKER_02: He is going to lose his mind because I've got some nice if you're not watching streaky bruises, just I mean her.
- 12:13SPEAKER_02: I told her she would bruise like our friend Robin just stopped by um and she was like, Oh, your face does not look good.
- 12:20SPEAKER_02: I was like, Thanks.
- 12:21SPEAKER_00: I warned her.
- 12:22SPEAKER_02: I've got color corrector at home.
- 12:24SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it'll be fine.
- 12:25SPEAKER_02: I mean, everything heals, the body heals.
- 12:27SPEAKER_02: I'm not yeah, I love bruising.
- 12:28SPEAKER_02: Bruising is very if you have any sort of it does not bother me whatsoever.
- 12:34SPEAKER_00: I always tell my patients, like, bruising does please don't shy away from bruising.
- 12:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I mean, plan it accordingly, yeah, yeah.
- 12:41SPEAKER_00: But you have so many vessels in your face, and your face actually heals very quickly.
- 12:45SPEAKER_00: I mean, I think it doesn't, but if you That's because we're looking at it every day.
- 12:49SPEAKER_00: It does, yeah.
- 12:50SPEAKER_00: Within a week, it'll be better.
- 12:51SPEAKER_00: So I wanted to finish my thoughts on no, no, no.
- 12:55SPEAKER_00: My dad's saying that he was worried about me because like my sisters are married and whatever.
- 13:00SPEAKER_00: And I was I was I was telling my I was actually, I don't know if the word bitching is right.
- 13:04SPEAKER_00: So I was bitching to my patient about like how my dad said this.
- 13:08SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, how could he worry about me?
- 13:10SPEAKER_00: Like, you know, I'm the person that will wake up at three, like just like what you said, I'll outwork somebody.
- 13:16SPEAKER_00: Like, I'm gonna be fine if I have to work 10 jobs, if I don't ever do this again, I'll find a way.
- 13:21SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 13:22SPEAKER_00: But then I realized that the simplicity of what he wanted was what David provides for you, and that is someone being your biggest cheerleader.
- 13:32SPEAKER_02: And I remember at the B3 Summit when you someone sitting in the front row being our biggest cheerleader.
- 13:39SPEAKER_00: When you were talking, I looked at David's face and the awe, I mean, you could just see how proud he is of you.
- 13:48SPEAKER_02: Sweet.
- 13:48SPEAKER_02: He is.
- 13:49SPEAKER_02: He is my I will say he's I'm very lucky.
- 13:52SPEAKER_02: I don't take my marriage for granted whatsoever.
- 13:55SPEAKER_02: And us being away, which we'll talk about, was really important because we got to spend time together.
- 14:00SPEAKER_02: And he has, I mean, he's a very busy person.
- 14:02SPEAKER_02: He did not have two days to take off and come to the B3 summit, but he was like, I'm not gonna work.
- 14:07SPEAKER_02: Are you kidding me?
- 14:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I'm very lucky.
- 14:09SPEAKER_02: My my husband and my father are identical humans, their birthdays are one day apart, they're both from South America, they both are babies, they both have never put anything in the microwave or boiled water their entire lives.
- 14:21SPEAKER_02: And the one biggest thing they have in common is like really like their love for me.
- 14:26SPEAKER_02: I mean, it's crazy.
- 14:27SPEAKER_02: And I sometimes am like, again, like you said, don't feel deserving, right?
- 14:32SPEAKER_02: And I think about that a lot.
- 14:33SPEAKER_02: I'm like, how did I get so lucky?
- 14:35SPEAKER_02: But I mean, then he also drives me nuts and I wanna like you know throw him out the out the favorite memory of David.
- 14:42SPEAKER_02: Oh my god, I have so many.
- 14:44SPEAKER_02: Uh I mean he's such a fall for him.
- 14:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 14:46SPEAKER_00: I mean, I definitely like intelligent.
- 14:49SPEAKER_00: I think that you are like all brains or no.
- 14:52SPEAKER_02: Yeah, no, no.
- 14:53SPEAKER_02: I I definitely the first time I saw him, I still remember.
- 14:57SPEAKER_02: I mean, we were this was in 2009, so 17 years ago, and I thought he was attractive, and then then at the same time hated him because he was a surgeon and he was arrogant.
- 15:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah, for sure.
- 15:08SPEAKER_02: It was he was very different before yeah, he had some transformations about you know, his whole thing now was like living in kindness and being kind to one another, and he's uh definitely a a better man now.
- 15:20SPEAKER_02: My favorite memory, I have so many.
- 15:22SPEAKER_02: I mean, his like in general, his goofiness, like his I always say, so if anyone's seen the movie Elf, he's like Will Farrell in that every day is Christmas, right?
- 15:32SPEAKER_02: And I always think of Will Farrell as, you know, the best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all those to hear.
- 15:38SPEAKER_02: I mean, that's literally David's life every single day.
- 15:41SPEAKER_02: He's always like, Hello, my love angel.
- 15:44SPEAKER_02: Like, today's gonna be such a great day.
- 15:46SPEAKER_02: And if it's a terrible day, and he's so upset.
- 15:48SPEAKER_00: Wait, hold on a second.
- 15:49SPEAKER_00: What is that on your finger?
- 15:50SPEAKER_00: I just Megan, what is what the fudge is this?
- 15:54SPEAKER_02: Like, okay, we always have a story about my rings.
- 15:56SPEAKER_02: If you want to go back to like 30 episodes like you see this right here.
- 16:02SPEAKER_00: Good God.
- 16:03SPEAKER_00: I know you just came back from Italy.
- 16:06SPEAKER_00: Were you in Italy?
- 16:07SPEAKER_00: Switzerland.
- 16:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 16:08SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 16:08SPEAKER_00: You gotta tell this story because it's literally the side it's this ring, if you cannot see, starts from her knuckle down to like the mid-20.
- 16:16SPEAKER_00: If you know what that is, okay.
- 16:18SPEAKER_02: So I um I always have a story.
- 16:20SPEAKER_02: So my my other wedding ring in the other hand, I got a second one because I got hit by a car and it got my first one got run over when I was running.
- 16:28SPEAKER_00: Wait, this slow down because you act like that's normal.
- 16:31SPEAKER_02: I was running once.
- 16:33SPEAKER_02: This was May of 2024.
- 16:37SPEAKER_02: That you got hit by a funny now.
- 16:39SPEAKER_02: It's just a story that you cannot fucking.
- 16:42SPEAKER_02: Yeah, this guy was in Cincinnati, right in front of the precinct restaurant.
- 16:45SPEAKER_02: I was in the crosswalk with my dog, which it would have been a very different story had they hit my dog and not me.
- 16:51SPEAKER_02: But she thank God was to my left.
- 16:52SPEAKER_02: The car was on my right, and this guy in a van who was in a wheelchair, who obviously should not have been driving, rolled the stop sign, and they're coming down a hill, so I saw him, but there's a s a stop sign, right?
- 17:04SPEAKER_02: So I'm like, he's gonna stop, and he didn't, and he rolled right into me, hit me, my ring fell off.
- 17:11SPEAKER_02: He ran over it, so that's meant.
- 17:14SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean, I was I was pretty beat up.
- 17:17SPEAKER_02: Um, there's a girl, thank God, behind me started videotaping, and she called the police and she was screaming, and like the fire department came this whole thing because he left, he flew, he fled the scene, but she had his license, and they right away like identified him, and he got he got what what needed to happen.
- 17:33SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 17:34SPEAKER_02: So David was so upset, obviously, because my original engagement ring was ruined, so then he bought me this big hunker on my left hand, and then true story.
- 17:44SPEAKER_02: So I had a ring that we had bought in Milan, and it it's called it's from Bulgaria.
- 17:50SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna call them out because you made a crappy product, and so I'm just gonna say it.
- 17:54SPEAKER_00: Let's just say this.
- 17:55SPEAKER_00: And I have you're paying for that much money, Megan.
- 17:58SPEAKER_02: Like Yeah, and I have a lot from Bulgaria that was like our brand, and we bought many pieces, and we really liked it's called the Serpenti collection.
- 18:07SPEAKER_02: So all the jewelry like wraps around, whether it's a bracelet or I have a watch.
- 18:11SPEAKER_02: The problem with their design are the springs are not very good, and the springs very often like come loose, so like segments where there's diamonds and stones can become loose.
- 18:23SPEAKER_02: So I had this, it's called the Serpenti Viper Ring.
- 18:26SPEAKER_02: You can look it up, and it wraps around three times.
- 18:28SPEAKER_02: It's very beautiful.
- 18:29SPEAKER_02: I loved it, and that's why I wore my right hand.
- 18:32SPEAKER_02: We bought it again in Milan in 2024 in October.
- 18:38SPEAKER_02: And the morning of the B3 Summit, so up at 4 a.m., had to run because I was training for my race.
- 18:43SPEAKER_02: Da-da-da.
- 18:44SPEAKER_02: I'm in the shower.
- 18:45SPEAKER_02: I'm not even washing my hair that day, and I know that for a fact because I didn't wash it on day one, I washed it on day two.
- 18:50SPEAKER_02: So just washing my face.
- 18:52SPEAKER_02: And I looked down and I saw like something shiny in the shower, and I thought, honestly, it looked like if you open like the foil top to like your soap.
- 19:02SPEAKER_02: I was like, maybe Michelle and my housekeeper, like, I don't know, open something here, and I look down and I see it's a segment of the ring, it's the stones, and I look at my ring and it is missing like three segments of stone of the diamonds, and I start just bawling because it's the morning of our event, like we've been stressed out, you know, like haven't slept, all this stuff.
- 19:23SPEAKER_02: And I was like, This is a bad omen, like the event's gonna be terrible.
- 19:27SPEAKER_02: I can't believe this happened.
- 19:28SPEAKER_02: So I'm so upset.
- 19:29SPEAKER_02: And it's only 5 a.m.
- 19:31SPEAKER_02: David's not even awake yet.
- 19:32SPEAKER_02: So I wait until 6 a.m.
- 19:34SPEAKER_02: We're getting our hair and makeup done.
- 19:35SPEAKER_02: And I texted him and I was like, I have to talk to you the moment you're awake.
- 19:39SPEAKER_02: And so then I started crying, and I went upstairs and just told him, and he was he he kept saying, I was like, I'm epiplictic.
- 19:45SPEAKER_02: So where do you use?
- 19:46SPEAKER_02: He's like, I don't even know what to say.
- 19:47SPEAKER_02: He's like, It's okay, it's not gonna be a bad omen.
- 19:50SPEAKER_02: Like, we'll figure it out.
- 19:52SPEAKER_02: So we hired a plumber, they like put the camera through, no one could find it.
- 19:56SPEAKER_02: So grateful that we have great insurance.
- 19:58SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and so they essentially totaled the ring, and so so we were able to get money for that, which was helpful.
- 20:06SPEAKER_02: And then when we were in Switzerland, he was looking for a watch.
- 20:10SPEAKER_02: I went with our friends to I think like get a coffee or something, and he called me and he's like, You need to come back here, I need to talk to you.
- 20:16SPEAKER_02: And then he had this ring.
- 20:18SPEAKER_02: So this is really cool.
- 20:19SPEAKER_00: Did you pick that out, or was that a surprise?
- 20:21SPEAKER_00: No, he picked it out for your one year.
- 20:24SPEAKER_02: My remarry anniversary, yeah, or Italy.
- 20:27SPEAKER_02: So the interesting thing, this is a a Swiss brand which was started in Lucerne, Switzerland, which is where we were.
- 20:32SPEAKER_02: And I'm gonna butcher how they say it looks French, it looks like Boucherare, it's B-U-C-H-E-R-E-R.
- 20:39SPEAKER_00: Shout out to them.
- 20:40SPEAKER_02: Shout out to them, they're amazing.
- 20:42SPEAKER_02: We did a lot of research and we explained to them what happened with our last ring to make sure this wouldn't happen.
- 20:47SPEAKER_02: And they're, I mean, they're very Swiss, right?
- 20:49SPEAKER_02: They're like, that doesn't happen to our products.
- 20:52SPEAKER_02: Like she was literally like, that's impossible.
- 20:54SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 20:55SPEAKER_02: No.
- 20:56SPEAKER_02: Because they're not like a big brand, you know, like a Gucci or whatever.
- 21:00SPEAKER_02: Like they're a smaller, but they they do have stores in the US, like in New York and LA, but they mostly sell to Europeans.
- 21:06SPEAKER_02: And what they're known for, and what's interesting about the ring is that they do different cuts of diamonds in their jewelry.
- 21:12SPEAKER_02: So there's seven different cuts.
- 21:14SPEAKER_02: There's emeralds, there's brilliance.
- 21:16SPEAKER_00: It's breathtaking, it's beautiful.
- 21:17SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's it's very cool.
- 21:19SPEAKER_02: So, what'd you get him?
- 21:22SPEAKER_00: Wait, you have a house on your finger and you don't know what you got your house.
- 21:26SPEAKER_02: I didn't get I didn't get him anything uh for our real like when we got married at the courthouse anniversary.
- 21:31SPEAKER_02: I did buy him a new coat that he really wanted.
- 21:33SPEAKER_02: Wait, hold on.
- 21:34SPEAKER_02: I know I bought him a coat and he bought me a ring.
- 21:36SPEAKER_02: It's like not as exciting.
- 21:38SPEAKER_00: So much.
- 21:39SPEAKER_00: Oh, he told us like what type of coat.
- 21:41SPEAKER_02: It was I'm what's it's Pierre.
- 21:44SPEAKER_02: It's like a a golfing brand, but it's not.
- 21:47SPEAKER_02: It's like really nice.
- 21:48SPEAKER_02: It was a trench coat and he really wanted it.
- 21:50SPEAKER_02: Uh huh.
- 21:51SPEAKER_02: And he didn't he was like, I'm not spending that much money for it.
- 21:53SPEAKER_02: So then I waited like a month and bought it for anniversary.
- 21:55SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 21:56SPEAKER_02: It's that's great.
- 21:58SPEAKER_02: You I gave him what he wanted.
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: You said I gave you me.
- 22:01SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I gave him me.
- 22:02SPEAKER_02: I I was like, we can have sex.
- 22:04SPEAKER_02: That's fine.
- 22:07SPEAKER_02: Um let's go.
- 22:08SPEAKER_02: Let's go back to B3.
- 22:09SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah, B3.
- 22:10SPEAKER_02: So tell me your like best thing, your favorite thing, worst thing, or like, you know, disappointing, and then your most surprising.
- 22:18SPEAKER_00: Okay, so best thing was seeing our dream team of Gal, really putting it together.
- 22:24SPEAKER_00: Although we had challenges, we had disagreements.
- 22:27SPEAKER_00: Um it just I feel like I'm just very grateful that I think we can say and we're always transparent with our audience.
- 22:35SPEAKER_00: It was not easy.
- 22:36SPEAKER_00: Good lord.
- 22:37SPEAKER_00: We're starting from the bottom.
- 22:39SPEAKER_00: So we're building this, and you're gonna be building this with us and believing in a vision.
- 22:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 22:44SPEAKER_00: You know, just the gratitude that I have for the people that believe in us.
- 22:48SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 22:49SPEAKER_00: So that was the best thing is seeing it come to life.
- 22:51SPEAKER_00: What was your worst?
- 22:52SPEAKER_00: I would honestly say my own fear of failure, my own getting past the fact that I had a team that I believed in fully.
- 23:06SPEAKER_00: I of course I believe in you, and I of course I believe in the team, but feeling like would I be able to be, would I be able to deliver what I felt like I was capable of delivering.
- 23:19SPEAKER_00: Sure.
- 23:19SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 23:20SPEAKER_00: So that feeling of that unknown.
- 23:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's it's incredibly challenging.
- 23:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 23:26SPEAKER_02: Most surprising.
- 23:27SPEAKER_00: Michael Mercer.
- 23:28SPEAKER_02: My God.
- 23:29SPEAKER_02: Because you didn't tell me.
- 23:30SPEAKER_02: I knew, but I was I said, let's I said, let's let it be a surprise and in case he doesn't actually show up.
- 23:36SPEAKER_00: So Michael didn't he Michael Michael was supposed to speak.
- 23:41SPEAKER_02: So Michael originally was supposed to give a talk and then he backed out, which we said fine.
- 23:45SPEAKER_00: And then shit happens, right?
- 23:47SPEAKER_02: Two days before he reaches out to Olivia.
- 23:49SPEAKER_02: And you have to remember, I mean, everyone should know this.
- 23:52SPEAKER_02: Don't ever say, I'm gonna tell Olivia and I'm gonna tell her not to tell Megan.
- 23:56SPEAKER_02: That will never happen.
- 23:58SPEAKER_02: Olivia is my ride or die, she's like my daughter, my best friend, my sister, all in one.
- 24:03SPEAKER_02: So, like, never gonna happen.
- 24:05SPEAKER_02: So he talks to her and is like, Hey, is anyone like giving an opening and thanking Megan and Charia for putting on the event?
- 24:12SPEAKER_02: And Olivia was like, No, but I think I can probably do that, whatever.
- 24:14SPEAKER_02: And he's like, Well, I feel really bad that I'm not giving a talk.
- 24:17SPEAKER_02: I think I should do it.
- 24:18SPEAKER_02: And she was like, Oh my god, so she comes right away.
- 24:21SPEAKER_02: She's like, Do you want me just to tell him no?
- 24:23SPEAKER_02: And it's not a good idea.
- 24:24SPEAKER_02: And I was like, No, if he wants to, I think it'll be great.
- 24:26SPEAKER_02: And it was very sweet.
- 24:28SPEAKER_02: The funnier thing is I was like, Okay, we need to like budget time, right?
- 24:32SPEAKER_02: Because you have slots.
- 24:33SPEAKER_02: And Aaron and I both were like, he won't talk for more than five minutes.
- 24:38SPEAKER_02: It's just a welcome, you know, thank you, Megan and Chacha.
- 24:40SPEAKER_02: Da-da-da.
- 24:41SPEAKER_02: He'll leave.
- 24:42SPEAKER_02: He goes on for 22 minutes.
- 24:44SPEAKER_02: What did we count?
- 24:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah, at one point I looked at you and I was like, we need to go.
- 24:49SPEAKER_02: Like we have a lot of speakers.
- 24:52SPEAKER_00: People don't understand.
- 24:53SPEAKER_00: Like when you rent out like a I'm sure you guys do.
- 24:56SPEAKER_00: I shouldn't have said that.
- 24:57SPEAKER_00: Like when you are allotted a time at an event center, they don't care.
- 25:01SPEAKER_00: And they will turn off the lights.
- 25:02SPEAKER_00: Yeah, 100%.
- 25:03SPEAKER_00: Like they're like, your contract will be 3 p.m.
- 25:06SPEAKER_00: We were told, like, first of all, we were supposed to like we wanted it to be 10 to 5 on Friday, 10 to 5 on Saturday.
- 25:15SPEAKER_00: And they were like, no, it's 10 to 3, and then you will be done at 3 o'clock.
- 25:20SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but like we have another event.
- 25:21SPEAKER_00: They were like when we left, they were setting up already for their next event.
- 25:25SPEAKER_00: Like turning the room, whatever.
- 25:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 25:26SPEAKER_00: Hey, Megan, let's walk back because I I see some viewers that don't know.
- 25:31SPEAKER_00: I mean, we've got a lot of thankful, thankfully, we've been growing the podcast.
- 25:35SPEAKER_00: So they don't know a lot about us in terms of how we got here.
- 25:39SPEAKER_02: So oh my god, buddy, we're gonna start.
- 25:41SPEAKER_00: Just just a quick like I was born in no.
- 25:44SPEAKER_00: I mean, so we have a lot of new viewers.
- 25:47SPEAKER_00: Basically, Megan and I met because Megan was a patient of mine.
- 25:50SPEAKER_02: Yes, and then she asked me to be on the news with her.
- 25:53SPEAKER_02: She thought it was awesome.
- 25:54SPEAKER_02: So then we started working together.
- 25:55SPEAKER_02: I know I was taken aback.
- 25:57SPEAKER_02: So when I met Cha Cha.
- 25:59SPEAKER_02: I mean, obviously, as a now 40, almost 41-year-old, so I must have been 38 when we met, I think.
- 26:05SPEAKER_02: Probably 38.
- 26:06SPEAKER_02: Late 30s, let's say.
- 26:07SPEAKER_02: I'd been getting injected for more than a decade, and so pretty well versed in like what I'm looking for in injector and and what I'm not looking for.
- 26:17SPEAKER_02: And she came highly recommended from Michael.
- 26:19SPEAKER_02: That's how we found each other.
- 26:20SPEAKER_02: And right away I was like, oh my god, this girl's one, I was like, she's so smart.
- 26:24SPEAKER_02: You were saying things, and I was like, girl, I don't care, just make my forehead not move.
- 26:28SPEAKER_02: No, it was amazing.
- 26:29SPEAKER_02: And I remember my treatment was really good, and I was like, okay, this is definitely different.
- 26:34SPEAKER_02: And then Michael, I told him, I was like, hey, it was really great.
- 26:38SPEAKER_02: And I think he made an appointment too.
- 26:39SPEAKER_02: And he came in to see you and he texted me, and he's like, Hey, she wants you to go on the news with her.
- 26:43SPEAKER_02: And I was like, Oh, okay, sure.
- 26:46SPEAKER_00: And then when it just like started, just took off, yeah, yeah.
- 26:49SPEAKER_00: So and I and I can't even like when I talk about you, it's like I'm fangirling because you are in trouble.
- 26:56SPEAKER_00: I refer all my patients out to Megan.
- 26:58SPEAKER_00: As a matter of fact, I sometimes will chase the root cause, which I know is more systematic and something that Megan can help, you know.
- 27:05SPEAKER_00: But we God, we did a we did a vision board party and oh yeah, I forgot about that.
- 27:11SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that we wanted to do an in-person event.
- 27:14SPEAKER_02: You had done one before.
- 27:15SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 27:16SPEAKER_02: I had never done one like professionally.
- 27:18SPEAKER_02: I've so I shouldn't say that.
- 27:20SPEAKER_02: My company has had three, no, four, sorry, hybrid health summits, which are usually in Miami, and they're like a big weekend event and and vital medical my practice were part of it because it's part of our ecosystem, but I wasn't the like primary person planning it or you know, in charge of everything.
- 27:38SPEAKER_02: So it was amazing to see our beauty biology and beyond our B3 summit come to life.
- 27:45SPEAKER_00: I always tell people like Megan is not tangible, and the fact that she's like the wizard of Oz, like behind the curtains.
- 27:53SPEAKER_00: It's it's kind of funny because it's like you have this wizard that's doing all these things behind the scenes.
- 27:58SPEAKER_00: So I am newer to the northern Kentucky area.
- 28:01SPEAKER_00: So when I met Megan and I started like I was in leadership northern Kentucky, I was really big part of the chamber, and I'm very involved in the community here.
- 28:09SPEAKER_00: I was like, Megan, like you're not tangible.
- 28:12SPEAKER_00: Like people need to touch, see, feel that you are an actual real person.
- 28:16SPEAKER_02: I'm a real human, a real human.
- 28:17SPEAKER_00: But Megan loves uh I don't leave my house.
- 28:20SPEAKER_00: Yeah, she doesn't leave her house.
- 28:22SPEAKER_00: So getting her out of the house was a challenge, but yeah, yeah.
- 28:26SPEAKER_00: Lucy did say something.
- 28:27SPEAKER_02: I forgot what you were talking about today.
- 28:28SPEAKER_02: She was like, that would require you to leave.
- 28:30SPEAKER_02: And I was like, I don't know about that.
- 28:31SPEAKER_02: Unless I'm going to the airport to fly somewhere.
- 28:34SPEAKER_02: Cool.
- 28:34SPEAKER_02: So my favorite thing about B3.
- 28:38SPEAKER_02: Oh my God, so many things.
- 28:40SPEAKER_02: I would probably say the same thing working with my working with our staff.
- 28:45SPEAKER_02: So a lot of the girls who made B3 happen are part of both of our practices.
- 28:50SPEAKER_02: So Caitlin, who's your medical esthetician here, girl, that girl cut three hours for three hours she cut name tags.
- 28:58SPEAKER_00: Thank you, Kate.
- 28:59SPEAKER_02: Thank you, Caitlin.
- 29:00SPEAKER_00: She's so talented.
- 29:01SPEAKER_00: She's so sweet.
- 29:02SPEAKER_00: Tina stepped in to help work at the front desk.
- 29:05SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 29:06SPEAKER_00: And Olivia Hasby.
- 29:09SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 29:10SPEAKER_02: She was so nice.
- 29:11SPEAKER_02: She was so excited to like, she was like, I don't know if Tari told you about me, but I'm in medical school.
- 29:16SPEAKER_02: And I was like, great, yes.
- 29:20SPEAKER_02: Oh my god, she was so excited.
- 29:21SPEAKER_02: I was like, girl, I've been up since 4 a.m.
- 29:22SPEAKER_02: I've got a shit ton of makeup on my face.
- 29:25SPEAKER_02: Like, I haven't eaten in a week.
- 29:26SPEAKER_02: I don't know what's going on.
- 29:28SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we're just surviving.
- 29:30SPEAKER_02: Um, but no, she was great.
- 29:32SPEAKER_02: So having Olivia, Libby, Erin all did an amazing job.
- 29:36SPEAKER_02: And I will say the other thing I really loved, and this is such a dumb thing.
- 29:40SPEAKER_02: I love it.
- 29:41SPEAKER_02: I loved our makeup artists both days.
- 29:44SPEAKER_02: So we had the best.
- 29:46SPEAKER_02: We had makeup artists so that way our participant, not like just for us.
- 29:51SPEAKER_02: So if you were at the B3 Summit and you're it's in the same room, so while you're listening to someone speak, you could go get glam.
- 29:58SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 29:59SPEAKER_00: It was so fun.
- 30:00SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 30:01SPEAKER_00: Let's let's guess who came up with that concept.
- 30:04SPEAKER_02: Me, of course.
- 30:05SPEAKER_02: This is amazing because people loved it.
- 30:08SPEAKER_02: Yes, they were like I mean, those artists were busy to go.
- 30:11SPEAKER_02: Their chairs were always busy.
- 30:13SPEAKER_00: You know, like I do, I mean, I do glam for like photo shoots and stuff.
- 30:17SPEAKER_00: Megan, you have I'm not gonna let me just call you out real quickly.
- 30:20SPEAKER_02: You know, I love you, but I do glam every moment I can.
- 30:23SPEAKER_00: Megan has a whole video crew and glam crew.
- 30:27SPEAKER_00: Just so you know, this is like I'm I'm my partner is like the real live Kardashian.
- 30:33SPEAKER_00: Like she brings.
- 30:34SPEAKER_00: I am not.
- 30:35SPEAKER_02: I am not, but I do need a crew because I I want to.
- 30:39SPEAKER_02: So this actually started.
- 30:40SPEAKER_02: I had a therapist, I think he literally saved me in this, who told me I had a lot of social anxiety, da-da-da.
- 30:47SPEAKER_02: And a lot of it came from insecurity, and a lot of insecurity, right, is about how we perceive how we look in the world.
- 30:52SPEAKER_02: And he was like, you know, does getting your hair done make you feel good?
- 30:56SPEAKER_02: And I was like, Yeah, who doesn't love getting their hair done?
- 30:58SPEAKER_02: And we started talking about it, and he was like, Well, especially this really had to do with like events and gallas I was going to with David.
- 31:05SPEAKER_02: And he I was like, Yeah, if I feel better about myself, I'll be less anxious.
- 31:10SPEAKER_02: Because it used to be like debilitating, like the moment we were gonna leave, I would like break down and be like, I can't go, I'm not, I can't go.
- 31:17SPEAKER_02: Yeah, David can tell you stories about it.
- 31:21SPEAKER_02: No, I mean that too.
- 31:22SPEAKER_02: So then I told David said he's like, if you want to get your hair and makeup done, if that will help you feel better, like let's try that.
- 31:29SPEAKER_02: And it did it honestly did help because then because I always felt like everyone's judging me on how I look, and I don't know how to do makeup and I look trashy or you know, whatever.
- 31:38SPEAKER_02: So that's kind of how that started.
- 31:40SPEAKER_02: But then you the other thing about it, it's not just about getting your hair and makeup done.
- 31:44SPEAKER_02: As you know, like I'm invested in my hair makeup artists, so I'm so loyal.
- 31:49SPEAKER_02: Like Camille and Ruby.
- 31:51SPEAKER_02: Ruby does my hair all the time.
- 31:53SPEAKER_02: And I'm, you know, they're two young girls, they both have kids, and I'm like, okay, I'm helping to employ them, right?
- 31:59SPEAKER_02: I'm helping to feed their families, I'm helping to grow their social media, I'm helping to support them and I treat them well, I love them, and and they like being a part of these things also.
- 32:11SPEAKER_02: Camille's done Lucy's baby shower for us.
- 32:15SPEAKER_02: Unfortunately, they had a wedding on Saturday, so then we had you had never met him before.
- 32:19SPEAKER_02: We had Josh.
- 32:20SPEAKER_02: Josh is shout out to Josh.
- 32:22SPEAKER_02: Fabulous.
- 32:23SPEAKER_02: Josh is one of the managers at Nordstrom, and he's a professional makeup artist, has been for many years, and he's so good, right?
- 32:30SPEAKER_00: He's amazing.
- 32:31SPEAKER_02: My makeup was awesome on day two.
- 32:33SPEAKER_02: I was like, I love this look.
- 32:35SPEAKER_00: I mean, I was like, wow.
- 32:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he's really telling you.
- 32:40SPEAKER_00: You know what?
- 32:40SPEAKER_00: And here's just I mean, the reality is like we have different types of skin collection, right?
- 32:45SPEAKER_00: So the fact that they were able to nail, oh yeah, it's really incredibly hard because if you've never done it, and they're not airbrushing, it was none of that.
- 32:53SPEAKER_00: Like now it was true artistry, true artistry, and truly understanding the structure and the balance and the light reflections because I told them, like, hey, you know, like I have a fuller nose, I want a slimmer nose, and they like did good contouring.
- 33:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it was so beautiful, yeah.
- 33:09SPEAKER_02: So beautiful.
- 33:10SPEAKER_02: I would say the worst or like most disappointing.
- 33:13SPEAKER_02: I don't even know, not really, not much.
- 33:16SPEAKER_02: I would say, and this is again part of probably the perfectionist, I would have liked to have sold out, which we didn't sell out.
- 33:22SPEAKER_02: I think that just would have been fun.
- 33:23SPEAKER_02: I mean, we had a lot of people, and we had even more on day two.
- 33:27SPEAKER_02: We had people who weren't signed up for day two who came for day two, so just to fill the room.
- 33:32SPEAKER_02: And then the most surprising oh my god, so many good things.
- 33:37SPEAKER_02: I will say Vince was phenomenal.
- 33:41SPEAKER_02: Vince was great.
- 33:42SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 33:42SPEAKER_02: Um, he always slays, kills it, kills it.
- 33:45SPEAKER_02: He does kill it.
- 33:46SPEAKER_02: Oh, oh, I know.
- 33:47SPEAKER_02: The most surprising, gosh, I how do we even forget to give them a shout out?
- 33:51SPEAKER_02: That the thing that when we first were planning, I didn't put as a priority that very quickly became a priority in doing it again.
- 33:59SPEAKER_02: That will be number one was Matt's team.
- 34:01SPEAKER_02: Matt, thank you so much.
- 34:03SPEAKER_02: Matt Delman, he and his he brought a colleague, Mike.
- 34:07SPEAKER_02: They did our audio video, they did our website.
- 34:10SPEAKER_02: I mean, Slade.
- 34:12SPEAKER_00: You know, and it couldn't be a nicer guy.
- 34:15SPEAKER_00: I and here's the thing: it's easy to walk into an event and judge.
- 34:20SPEAKER_00: What we don't know is what happens behind.
- 34:22SPEAKER_00: Oh my god.
- 34:23SPEAKER_00: I have such an appreciation.
- 34:25SPEAKER_00: You will never look at an event the same, right?
- 34:27SPEAKER_00: Never look at an event.
- 34:28SPEAKER_00: I'm literally gonna shake people's hands and say, you know what?
- 34:32SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 34:33SPEAKER_02: Thank you so much for giving me every detail, every like the water, the coke, the coffee, the the timing, the yeah, the lighting, the lighting, the conversations, yeah, the background music in between speakers.
- 34:46SPEAKER_02: I mean, it's all okay.
- 34:49SPEAKER_02: Do you know?
- 34:50SPEAKER_00: Do you know what my biggest appreciation is?
- 34:52SPEAKER_00: What sleep?
- 34:53SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, yeah.
- 34:54SPEAKER_00: Because I got no sleep.
- 34:56SPEAKER_02: Oh no, for a week.
- 34:57SPEAKER_02: I was just like on caffeine and water.
- 35:00SPEAKER_02: It was it was a mess.
- 35:02SPEAKER_02: But Matt's team was amazing.
- 35:04SPEAKER_02: Megan, are we gonna do this again?
- 35:06SPEAKER_00: Because this was a lot.
- 35:07SPEAKER_02: It was a lot.
- 35:08SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna need a moment to answer that question.
- 35:11SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna need some time because then so that the event was on Saturday.
- 35:17SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 35:18SPEAKER_00: Wait, and then you hopped on a damn plane and were in a marathon.
- 35:21SPEAKER_02: Tuesday.
- 35:22SPEAKER_02: So this was Saturday, so Tuesday, I then had to fly to Berlin, Germany.
- 35:27SPEAKER_02: To I flew overnight.
- 35:28SPEAKER_02: We got there Wednesday.
- 35:30SPEAKER_02: Um, because then the following Sunday, so we got there a couple days early.
- 35:33SPEAKER_02: I ran the Berlin Marathon, which was epic.
- 35:37SPEAKER_02: It was amazing.
- 35:38SPEAKER_02: I have so many good things I should do a solo and just dedicate, but so many great things.
- 35:43SPEAKER_02: It was my third world major marathon.
- 35:45SPEAKER_02: There are six, technically eight now, but really six original.
- 35:48SPEAKER_02: It was my third, which are always packed.
- 35:51SPEAKER_02: There was fifty-six thousand people running.
- 35:53SPEAKER_02: It was what?
- 35:54SPEAKER_00: Wait, wait, wait, hold on a second.
- 35:56SPEAKER_00: 56,000 from you say not five to six thousand.
- 36:00SPEAKER_00: No, fifty six.
- 36:05SPEAKER_02: It's the biggest world major.
- 36:06SPEAKER_02: It's crazy.
- 36:07SPEAKER_02: My God.
- 36:08SPEAKER_02: It's crazy.
- 36:09SPEAKER_00: I know not just so you know, I know nothing about marathons.
- 36:12SPEAKER_00: So my reaction is based off of the fact that I didn't know it was such a thing.
- 36:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 36:16SPEAKER_02: So big because so Berlin's known to be a flatter course, so like they were trying to go after the world record, which it's funny they didn't get in Berlin, but it happened in Chicago this past uh weekend.
- 36:28SPEAKER_02: But um, it was a beautiful day.
- 36:30SPEAKER_02: So I've been nursing this left Achilles tendinitis probably beginning of August.
- 36:36SPEAKER_02: It started flaring up, and I haven't been injured in over three years, which for as much as I run is is pretty ironic.
- 36:42SPEAKER_02: So time always catches up with you.
- 36:44SPEAKER_02: But uh I felt it.
- 36:45SPEAKER_02: I mean, even the first smile, I was in pain and I was like, oh, it's gonna be a long day.
- 36:50SPEAKER_02: But I kept I did exactly what I said.
- 36:52SPEAKER_02: I'm like, I'm just gonna have a great time.
- 36:54SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna I high-fived a million, I like hugged a bunch of kids.
- 36:58SPEAKER_02: I was smiling, I was like trying to talk with people.
- 37:00SPEAKER_02: But when you're in an international race, half people don't speak English, they're just kind of looking at you, not in the same because I felt fine because for me, I wasn't really pushing my effort or my pace because my Achilles was hurting so much.
- 37:13SPEAKER_02: And my neighbors, shout outs to Carrie and Brendan, came.
- 37:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah, they wore big doctor suits hats so that way I could see them in the crowd.
- 37:21SPEAKER_00: Um amazing support system, yeah.
- 37:24SPEAKER_02: And so where the race ends, it's through the Brandenburg gates.
- 37:29SPEAKER_02: And I still remember, and again, I'm not like a very emotional person, and we're coming down, and everything's in kilometers because obviously, and I remember thinking, like, I'm trying to do the math, and but you're running right for a couple hours, and I was like, Okay, I know when I get to 40 kilometers, I have two kilometers to go because it's like 42.5, I think kilometers is a marathon.
- 37:50SPEAKER_02: And I saw the 40k, and I must have just missed the 41, like I just didn't see it, and so I thought I had further to go.
- 37:57SPEAKER_02: And I we make this left and I see the Brannon Burgates, and I just start crying.
- 38:01SPEAKER_02: I was like, Oh my god, I'm about to run the Berlin Marathon, it's almost over.
- 38:04SPEAKER_02: And someone next to me, I remember saying them, I'm like, Can you believe we're almost done?
- 38:08SPEAKER_02: And they were like dying, like not wanting to have a conversation with me, right?
- 38:13SPEAKER_02: As we're moving forward, like this bitch needs to shut the fuck up.
- 38:18SPEAKER_02: Uh, so it was great.
- 38:19SPEAKER_02: And then we went to Switzerland, which was great, and then we came home.
- 38:22SPEAKER_00: You know, I really appreciate.
- 38:25SPEAKER_00: Listen, I know everybody has judgment in them.
- 38:30SPEAKER_00: And what pisses me off is how we judge without understanding the lenses, the paradigm of the person that we may be following.
- 38:39SPEAKER_00: Like, for instance, like I can honestly say my perception of you when I first met you, right?
- 38:46SPEAKER_00: And to understand and know who you are so deeply.
- 38:49SPEAKER_00: And so my relationship with you as we've grown and we've become business partners, it has also taught me to really fully embrace somebody's journey.
- 39:00SPEAKER_00: As I was watching you, and I saw I know that I interacted with your page.
- 39:05SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and I was just blown away at the dedication that you have for the things that you love and enjoy.
- 39:12SPEAKER_00: Okay, because I will tell you for the next probably three to five days, I was out.
- 39:20SPEAKER_00: I was exhausted mentally, I was fatigued.
- 39:22SPEAKER_02: And that you continued to it definitely caught up with me as soon as it was done.
- 39:28SPEAKER_02: I was tired.
- 39:28SPEAKER_02: And I I did catch up on some sleep while we were there.
- 39:31SPEAKER_00: But Megan, what I'm sharing with you is that and somebody said this is like you are inspiring.
- 39:38SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 39:38SPEAKER_00: And don't ever forget like your journey, your story continues to inspire people.
- 39:44SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 39:45SPEAKER_00: I mean, we just closed a summit and you're on a plane to Berlin to run America.
- 39:50SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 39:51SPEAKER_00: I mean, that's phenomenal.
- 39:52SPEAKER_00: So thank you.
- 39:54SPEAKER_02: Phenomenal or crazy.
- 39:55SPEAKER_00: I think you're probably on this same.
- 39:57SPEAKER_00: I mean, I think you're phenomenal and crazy.
- 40:00SPEAKER_02: And crazy.
- 40:01SPEAKER_02: I'll take that.
- 40:02SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 40:02SPEAKER_02: I appreciate that.
- 40:03SPEAKER_00: That journey for you, and everybody's journey looks a little bit different.
- 40:06SPEAKER_02: So everyone's journey's different.
- 40:08SPEAKER_02: No, I think I appreciate you saying that.
- 40:10SPEAKER_02: And that's all I want is is to inspire and for people to see that like you don't know what you're capable of, right?
- 40:17SPEAKER_02: And and is it the healthiest thing?
- 40:19SPEAKER_02: No, absolutely not.
- 40:21SPEAKER_02: I should have probably gone to bed for a week and not done that.
- 40:25SPEAKER_02: But you know, uh, you don't know your limits if you don't test them.
- 40:29SPEAKER_02: How was your week though?
- 40:30SPEAKER_00: Which week this week?
- 40:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 40:32SPEAKER_00: I'm I'm working on a couple different things.
- 40:35SPEAKER_02: And we won't talk about yet, but she showed me something that she's working on, and you guys, you want, yeah, you want the tea when we're ready to spill it, we're gonna spill it.
- 40:46SPEAKER_02: It is amazing.
- 40:47SPEAKER_02: I loved it.
- 40:47SPEAKER_02: Essentially, I saw like a business plan and it's phenomenal.
- 40:52SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 40:53SPEAKER_00: I think for me, it's always like, what is my internal?
- 40:57SPEAKER_00: Like, I I I I go back to what I think I've shared with you in the past.
- 41:01SPEAKER_00: And you said it, you say these words, and I've kind of held on to it.
- 41:04SPEAKER_00: It's like, what is your internal North Star?
- 41:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 41:09SPEAKER_00: And every project, like every single project you and I've done, or whether it's with Hugh, I always question what is that internal North Star?
- 41:19SPEAKER_00: And it always seems to be like business related, right?
- 41:23SPEAKER_00: So, what is internal North Star for Beyond the White Coat for B3, for Hugh?
- 41:27SPEAKER_00: But I had to sit and reflect on like what is the internal North Star as I am growing spiritually, mentally for not any businesses, but for Charia?
- 41:41SPEAKER_00: What does Charia, the person, the spiritual being, the person that wants to continue to grow and inspire, very much like yourself?
- 41:50SPEAKER_00: What does that look like for me?
- 41:52SPEAKER_00: And I think that I finally found it.
- 41:54SPEAKER_02: I'm super I can't wait to share with our audience.
- 41:57SPEAKER_02: It's super good.
- 41:58SPEAKER_02: What's your week look like?
- 41:59SPEAKER_02: Not too bad.
- 42:00SPEAKER_02: I mean, just getting back into the thick of like obviously working seeing patients.
- 42:05SPEAKER_02: We got home on Saturday night.
- 42:08SPEAKER_02: So we were gone for 10 days.
- 42:10SPEAKER_02: So work, seeing patients.
- 42:12SPEAKER_02: Is that all the dings coming through?
- 42:14SPEAKER_02: Is it work?
- 42:15SPEAKER_02: Yeah, all work always getting back into the podcast, and then trying to think.
- 42:21SPEAKER_02: I think, yeah, we just want to reset this weekend.
- 42:24SPEAKER_02: Like I still have dry cleaning to take care of, still putting away the laundry, trying to get caught up on emails.
- 42:31SPEAKER_02: Oh, you said the dogs had a hard time when you were gone?
- 42:33SPEAKER_02: They were good.
- 42:34SPEAKER_02: I mean, my parents were here, which is always amazing, and so they took unbelievably great care of them.
- 42:40SPEAKER_02: Um, my parents went back yesterday, Tuesday.
- 42:43SPEAKER_02: So yeah, Bodies and training.
- 42:45SPEAKER_02: He's so big.
- 42:46SPEAKER_02: Wait till you see him.
- 42:47SPEAKER_02: He grew so much.
- 42:48SPEAKER_02: Really?
- 42:49SPEAKER_02: He grew so much.
- 42:49SPEAKER_02: So we have a for those who don't know, we have three dogs, and one is a four and a half month-old samoed.
- 42:56SPEAKER_02: And man, those dogs, I mean, all dogs, I think when they're when they're little, they're gross spurts like exponential, right?
- 43:03SPEAKER_02: So he is definitely growing.
- 43:05SPEAKER_02: So we came home and he literally looked like he had tripled in size.
- 43:08SPEAKER_02: He's as tall as Gibbs.
- 43:10SPEAKER_02: No.
- 43:10SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 43:11SPEAKER_02: Michael came over yesterday because he had to drop something off, and he was like, Megan, he's gonna be your biggest dog.
- 43:15SPEAKER_02: And I was like, Oh my god, please don't say that.
- 43:17SPEAKER_02: I don't want bigger dogs.
- 43:18SPEAKER_02: But he's so cute.
- 43:19SPEAKER_02: And he's been in school, he's been going to his trainer every day, and he's getting good report cards.
- 43:25SPEAKER_02: He is.
- 43:25SPEAKER_02: So the trainer and I had like a one-on-one today because I was like, I, you know, I want to catch up, I've been gone.
- 43:29SPEAKER_02: Tell me about what you've been doing, what Bodhi's been doing.
- 43:32SPEAKER_02: So he so the first part of training is all about like potty training, crate training, all that stuff in the house.
- 43:37SPEAKER_02: And then now the second phase has been about like how to help him live in the world, right?
- 43:42SPEAKER_02: Because he can't be in a bubble.
- 43:43SPEAKER_02: So he takes some places.
- 43:45SPEAKER_02: He's been to Lowe's Home Goods, he went to the Florist twice, he went to Mad Tree, he went to um Creighton Barrel.
- 43:55SPEAKER_02: And in there, he like was telling me that he, especially because it's gonna be Halloween season, right?
- 44:00SPEAKER_02: Right?
- 44:00SPEAKER_02: He likes things that like light up and make a lot of noise.
- 44:03SPEAKER_02: He brings Bodhi by that.
- 44:04SPEAKER_02: So that way he doesn't react.
- 44:06SPEAKER_02: And then he, you know, helps because people want to come up to him and pet him.
- 44:09SPEAKER_02: Like, oh, your dog's a cute.
- 44:11SPEAKER_02: So working on like sitting and staying when people are doing that and allow them to pet him.
- 44:15SPEAKER_02: So he's working on how to help Bodhi be a good citizen.
- 44:18SPEAKER_02: A good dog.
- 44:20SPEAKER_02: I know.
- 44:20SPEAKER_02: That's really funny.
- 44:21SPEAKER_02: Lucy was here at my house today when the trainer was there and she's like, He's a very good dog.
- 44:25SPEAKER_02: I want to let you know you've done a great job.
- 44:27SPEAKER_02: Just funny.
- 44:28SPEAKER_02: But yeah, that's about it.
- 44:30SPEAKER_00: God, what else do we need to achieve?
- 44:32SPEAKER_00: Let's just tell them, like with the bot podcast, we're back to Yeah, we're back.
- 44:37SPEAKER_02: We'll be back weekly.
- 44:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 44:38SPEAKER_00: Wednesdays is kind of our Wednesdays too.
- 44:41SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 44:41SPEAKER_02: I think I'm definitely gonna record um maybe this weekend a solo just to recap the race for anyone who's interested in Marathon Running.
- 44:50SPEAKER_00: And and bec uh for those that don't know that your original Instagram was taken down.
- 44:55SPEAKER_00: So if you want to give Megan a following.
- 45:00SPEAKER_00: And your injector Injector Cha Cha underscore NP.
- 45:04SPEAKER_00: Just so grateful.
- 45:05SPEAKER_00: I just so happy.
- 45:07SPEAKER_00: I'm happy to see how bad is the bruising.
- 45:10SPEAKER_00: It's gonna be pretty bad.
- 45:11SPEAKER_02: It doesn't look terrible right now.
- 45:13SPEAKER_02: But it's going to be.
- 45:14SPEAKER_00: This one's bad on the side.
- 45:15SPEAKER_00: What are you doing?
- 45:17SPEAKER_00: Any you have another marathon coming up, right?
- 45:20SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so I we'll see.
- 45:22SPEAKER_02: I have a bib to New York, which is November 1st.
- 45:26SPEAKER_02: And we'll see.
- 45:28SPEAKER_02: My so my Achilles has been better.
- 45:30SPEAKER_02: The days after the race, I mean I was limping everywhere.
- 45:32SPEAKER_02: I could not it I don't have pain in it.
- 45:35SPEAKER_02: It gets stiff and like your Achilles in the back of your heel.
- 45:38SPEAKER_02: My leg like wouldn't contract, so I was like dragging it.
- 45:41SPEAKER_02: All that's gone, it's done.
- 45:43SPEAKER_02: Um I'm 10 days today post-race, so I'm gonna try and run tomorrow.
- 45:47SPEAKER_02: We'll see.
- 45:48SPEAKER_02: Dave and I talked about it, and he was at first he was like, I don't know that's gonna happen.
- 45:51SPEAKER_02: And then even yesterday and last couple days, he's like, Don't give up hope.
- 45:55SPEAKER_02: Like, you know, we're gonna we're gonna make an official decision in another 10 days, so two weeks from the race, and then decide what we'll do.
- 46:03SPEAKER_02: So we'll see.
- 46:04SPEAKER_00: Well, I want to wish you all the health and wellness.
- 46:10SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 46:10SPEAKER_00: Are you doing any special peptides with recovering?
- 46:13SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah.
- 46:14SPEAKER_02: So I asked Michael, I was of course, I'm like, what jose of BPC 157 do you give yourself if you're trying to heal an injury?
- 46:21SPEAKER_02: And he so usually it's 500 micrograms uh five to seven days a week.
- 46:26SPEAKER_02: And he's like, I do 1.5 milligrams twice a day.
- 46:30SPEAKER_02: And I was like, whoa, all right, all right.
- 46:33SPEAKER_02: I will say the one side effect when I have a lot of BPC, I break out on my back because I think it's on the growth hormone pathway.
- 46:41SPEAKER_02: So I've definitely had some back acne, which is gross.
- 46:44SPEAKER_02: I mean, it's not terrible, but I'm obviously sensitive to it.
- 46:47SPEAKER_02: I know.
- 46:47SPEAKER_02: I thought about it literally today because it's the first day I noticed it.
- 46:50SPEAKER_02: I was like, okay.
- 46:51SPEAKER_02: So yeah, I'm doing that hormones, and then I also got a peptide with BPC like patch.
- 46:58SPEAKER_02: It's a topical that I put on, but I only have I counted them out.
- 47:02SPEAKER_02: I think of 18 of them.
- 47:03SPEAKER_02: So I'm gonna use them only on days I'm running to be a little sparing.
- 47:07SPEAKER_02: G.
- 47:07SPEAKER_02: But yeah, this is fun.
- 47:08SPEAKER_02: We did it.
- 47:09SPEAKER_02: Our first podcast.
- 47:11SPEAKER_02: Thank you again.
- 47:11SPEAKER_00: I think we cannot say thank thank you.
- 47:14SPEAKER_02: Thank you for everyone who came to B3.
- 47:16SPEAKER_00: And if you missed it, wait for the next one.
- 47:18SPEAKER_00: Um well, actually, we talked about that because we're gonna try to do like quarterly things to keep you connected, yeah.
- 47:24SPEAKER_00: Like little mini things, even if it's online or related to the podcast.
- 47:28SPEAKER_00: It was an amazing event.
- 47:30SPEAKER_00: And our team, our sponsors, all the attendees, thank you for making it a success.
- 47:36SPEAKER_00: Thank you, thank you.
- 47:37SPEAKER_00: And we will see you next time.
- 47:38SPEAKER_00: All right, bye.
