Latest / International Flavor: Where the Truth Tastes Better / Iran War Signals, Hormuz Tensions & Missouri Power Struggles Explained

- 0:00I'm Samuel Trap. I've had a a rather
- 0:04interesting all the way to midweek,
- 0:07right? I suppose we're here at the very
- 0:09beginning of the old hump day, the old
- 0:11midweek.
- 0:13Uh
- 0:15let's see. Oh, we have uh we have uh too
- 0:21much news on the screen, too many things
- 0:23going on in the world, especially here
- 0:27in mid Missouri. Uh we've got some So we
- 0:30we we track legislation. Uh does uh
- 0:35international flavor as does Civic
- 0:38Outlaws. So Fridays I try to focus on
- 0:40Civic Outlaws and Civic Outlaws is the
- 0:43program every Friday, but sometimes it
- 0:45kind of bleeds over into the other
- 0:47programs because there's so much stuff
- 0:50going on. um told you a little bit
- 0:52yesterday about uh some of the success
- 0:54stories we've had with our articles and
- 0:57with the stuff that we're putting out.
- 1:00We have uh basically three
- 1:05three
- 1:07I suppose corresponding
- 1:09sorts of activities that are going on.
- 1:11The first well I suppose you could say
- 1:13four if you count international flavor
- 1:15here because international flavor I I
- 1:18you know talk like I talk. I tell you
- 1:20things uh the way I believe them to be
- 1:22true. Tell you a little bit about uh
- 1:26varying perspectives upon the world and
- 1:28the uh drama that unfolds here uh well
- 1:32around the planet. Um
- 1:36and I've been paying attention to it.
- 1:38I'm real interested to see uh who's
- 1:41lying and who's who's speaking the truth
- 1:44again. Uh and because they cannot be
- 1:48mutually exclusive. My thought is uh so
- 1:51so so so allegedly the Marines are
- 1:53showing up today. they they show up uh
- 1:56that have been traveling from the u uh
- 2:00Japan area uh Indonesia somewhere over
- 2:03there and uh it's taking them a while to
- 2:06get to the uh
- 2:08streets of Hormuz. Still got the talk
- 2:10that uh we're taking over the island,
- 2:13Car Island, and that's going to occur.
- 2:16Um I think that's a bad problem,
- 2:19a bad idea all around. Um, we have that
- 2:22going on. The, uh, 82nd Airborne guys
- 2:26are supposed to show up a little later.
- 2:29Uh, they're airborne. They should be
- 2:31there in an in a 12-hour flight to take
- 2:35a flight and get over there. You don't
- 2:37need to, but they bring all their
- 2:39equipment. I'm I'm giving you a hard
- 2:42time there. Do you know uh when I was in
- 2:44the military way back in the dark ages
- 2:47uh and and we would go to uh we we'd
- 2:51have these
- 2:52uh rather large uh operations uh
- 2:56training exercises. And so I was
- 3:00stationed when I was in tactical units I
- 3:03was stationed at uh Fort Hood, Texas.
- 3:06Um, at the time we were always told it
- 3:09was the largest uh military base on the
- 3:12planet. I'm not sure that's the case
- 3:14anymore. I don't know. Really haven't
- 3:15paid any attention, but I know it was
- 3:17freaking huge and um
- 3:22it's like 300 square miles or something.
- 3:24It's pretty big and um you know, mini
- 3:26state.
- 3:28Pick a state, you know, Rhode Island or
- 3:30something. Washington DC, it's it's
- 3:33bigger than that, you know. And uh uh at
- 3:35any rate um
- 3:39we would transport equipment and it was
- 3:42a an exercise, you know. Um
- 3:46you'd have to get all your uh poop in a
- 3:48group and get ready to go and tra and
- 3:50and get get uh everything loaded. We we
- 3:53would do two different versions. Okay.
- 3:55first was uh you would
- 3:59load up trains, train cars in uh Fort
- 4:03Hood and go across to
- 4:07if you were going to the National
- 4:09Training Center in u
- 4:13uh Arizona or Nevada, I mean uh
- 4:18California, you know. Uh what is the
- 4:20name of that little town there? Little
- 4:22little crappy town. Uh Barstow. Barstow.
- 4:25And it's not a crappy town. Just tiny
- 4:27little tiny little nothing there except
- 4:30a military b or entrance to a military
- 4:32base training training place and and a
- 4:35train yard. And so all of your u
- 4:38equipment would show up there and it was
- 4:42quite the process to get everything
- 4:45there. same thing uh when we went to
- 4:48something I don't know what they do you
- 4:50know they different names you come up
- 4:52with these great names for your uh
- 4:56operations that make you sound like you
- 4:58know you're taking over the planet right
- 5:00and uh uh operation uh uh reforger was
- 5:06what we went to every year in Germany
- 5:09and so Fort Hood second armor division
- 5:12third corps uh first calav those three
- 5:16units would either be combined or one at
- 5:20a time going across the planet to get to
- 5:24Germany and do some some uh training and
- 5:27you'd send over, you know, 10,000
- 5:30soldiers to uh Germany or more, you
- 5:34know, and it it was quite a logistics
- 5:38feat.
- 5:39So sending over 5,000 Marines from U
- 5:44Japan, that's a big deal. And and
- 5:48getting all their stuff together, you
- 5:50can understand uh that that it gets
- 5:52there. I mean, that that's one of the
- 5:54reasons that leads me to believe that uh
- 5:56the administration didn't plan
- 5:58appropriately and they thought these
- 6:00decapitation strikes were just going to
- 6:02be the be all end all and it was all
- 6:04going to be over, right? and oh gee,
- 6:07they're going to capitulate and that'll
- 6:08be that. And I I believe they
- 6:11miscalculated. And then I that's why I
- 6:13also believe the uh the 5day delay isn't
- 6:18a fiveday I've agreed, you know, I've
- 6:20said I'm going to ceasefire
- 6:22unilaterally. It's uh um
- 6:28uh it's a planning tactic until you get
- 6:31your guys over there. you know, on the
- 6:33best day, you're not going to get 5,000
- 6:36troops over uh relocated
- 6:39um in five days. you know, in your best
- 6:43activities, you're going to take, you
- 6:45know, if you have 5,000 guys um in
- 6:49airplanes with rucks sacks, that's one
- 6:51thing, but 5,000 guys with all their
- 6:53equipment um
- 6:57armored personnel carriers, um
- 7:01uh BMP style, uh Bradley fighting
- 7:06vehicles or whatever. Uh that's a
- 7:09operation that takes some time you know
- 7:12that's that's takes some time to put
- 7:14together and they've got to come from
- 7:16somewhere around the world and
- 7:20so at any rate that is why I believe the
- 7:23way that I do and I also believe that it
- 7:26was an effort to do two things and uh
- 7:31one is lower the price of gas u make
- 7:34sure that a lot of people make a lot of
- 7:36money on the uh stock options or the uh
- 7:40uh futures markets
- 7:43and uh and to give time to get to that
- 7:47side of the planet. That's what I
- 7:48believe. And everything else is just
- 7:50what they call in the legal parliament
- 7:54uh puffery. You are allowed to puff a
- 7:58contract. That's only puffing. That is
- 8:01not uh the term of the contract. you
- 8:04know, little old lady drove this car
- 8:07and, you know, just back and forth to
- 8:09church every Sunday. That's puffery. You
- 8:12know, that's not that's not a
- 8:14contractual term when you find out that
- 8:16really, uh, you know, she drove it 120
- 8:19miles a day. Everybody knows that would
- 8:22be just puffery. And so therefore, uh,
- 8:24you know, that doesn't count. Well,
- 8:26that's Trump. He's he's a puffery
- 8:28puffery god. Everything he says,
- 8:31according to most people, is
- 8:33positioning. He's not uh he's not
- 8:35telling you the truth. He's puffing the
- 8:38terms of uh whatever deal he hopes to
- 8:40make out and he's just trying to get a
- 8:42reaction. That's called negotiation.
- 8:45And uh you know or or if you're in the
- 8:48uh put it into police work, that is
- 8:52good police work, right? Good police
- 8:55work includes a hell of a lot of lying
- 8:58because the police can lie to you all
- 9:00day long to get you talking. That's good
- 9:03police work. But god forbid you lie
- 9:06back. They come in and say, "Oh yeah, I
- 9:09got a a truckload of drugs coming in on
- 9:11on this day and we're going to figure
- 9:13something out." And you go, "Yeah, I got
- 9:14one coming in, too." You know, you know,
- 9:18if we're going to talk about who's got
- 9:20what going on, I got some, too. Well,
- 9:23and if it turns out you're lying, you go
- 9:25to jail for lying to a cop. But the cop,
- 9:28he that's good police work. That's what
- 9:30he's supposed to do, right? Is get you
- 9:33to talk. And so that's Trump and the
- 9:36police are uh uh of an equal equal
- 9:39caliber in this regard. Um not telling
- 9:42the truth about what's going on straight
- 9:43to Hormuz. So allegedly um as I as I
- 9:47indicated yesterday, now there are
- 9:48complete more stories about it. Um Iran
- 9:52allowing non-hostile ships
- 9:55through the straits.
- 9:57uh US and Israeli vessels as well as
- 9:59those that support the aggressors
- 10:03are not welcome.
- 10:05So uh despite that that message you know
- 10:10they you know and they have to be
- 10:13coordinated
- 10:14uh Middle East tensions uh show don't
- 10:16show any sign of uh
- 10:20abatement as they call it and the
- 10:22Pentagon has issued orders for 2,000
- 10:272,82nd AR air airborne troops to deploy
- 10:32to within striking distance from Iran as
- 10:35well as 2500 Marines from um uh that are
- 10:40supposed to arrive later this week. I
- 10:41had uh heard something this morning that
- 10:43they're showing up today and uh Trump
- 10:46says that Iran has made major
- 10:48concessions now. I I I don't know what
- 10:50to believe, you know, not at all. and
- 10:54senior Iranian advisor
- 10:57uh Ali uh Ahmad Ahmadian uh dared US
- 11:01soldiers to come closer
- 11:04said that Iranian armed forces have
- 11:06trained in asymmetrical warfare for
- 11:08decades. Uh US President Trump is
- 11:13seeking an off-ramp from the war with a
- 11:16list of 15 peace proposals. Here's the
- 11:19latest development.
- 11:21Trump claimed the US has already won,
- 11:24you know, and he has ongoing uh
- 11:27diplomatic talks with Iran and he
- 11:29postponed these military strikes, which
- 11:31we told you about yesterday, for 5 days.
- 11:35Israeli Channel 12 reports that Trump's
- 11:3915point proposal demands that Israel
- 11:43dismantle its nuclear and missile
- 11:45programs and abandon any regional proxy
- 11:47network.
- 11:50H
- 11:52Yeah, that's going to that's going to
- 11:53happen. Um, and open up the straight to
- 11:56Hormuz to unrestricted maritime passage.
- 12:00Or, you know, hell, maybe the US could
- 12:01take it over and charge if the US took
- 12:04it over, you know, damn well they'd
- 12:06charge Iran to get through the straits
- 12:08of Hormuz. Um and in exchange uh in
- 12:12exchange tan re receives a full lifting
- 12:16of international sanctions assistance
- 12:19with its civilian nuclear program and
- 12:22removal of uh the snapback sanction
- 12:25mechanism. Okay, now those are big gives
- 12:28if they're actually going to give that
- 12:30up. I I I wouldn't trust them. They've
- 12:32been saying, you know, similar crap for
- 12:35uh several years now. And uh nothing
- 12:40couldn't be further from the truth. Uh
- 12:43Pete Hgs says, "We negotiate with
- 12:45bombs." That's
- 12:48right. We're going to send over the
- 12:50varsity team here any day and we're
- 12:52going to negotiate with bombs. And they,
- 12:54you know, tan denies that talks with the
- 12:56US are even taking place. And Iran's
- 12:59parliamentary speaker says that such
- 13:01claims are fake news and are being used
- 13:04to manipulate financial and oil markets.
- 13:07Must be listening to what I'm saying.
- 13:09Oil prices fell 5% on Wednesday. Okay,
- 13:13so we still have it. Um,
- 13:17uh, a reporter by the name of Marina
- 13:21Kosaria
- 13:23has looked into Israeli tactics, uh,
- 13:25regarding decapitation strikes. um which
- 13:29critics say disregard civilian losses
- 13:31and lead to families being wiped out.
- 13:34And u apparently she came the same
- 13:36conclusion I did. That's why I'm
- 13:38sharing. The more they kill and the more
- 13:40they kill families, the more people want
- 13:42revenge. And so the circle
- 13:46uh between Iran and uh uh Israel just
- 13:49continues to get to get uh further. Iran
- 13:53has set a high bar for entering peace
- 13:56talks. says the Wall Street Journal.
- 13:59According to newspaper sources, Tron's
- 14:01primary demands include closure of all
- 14:04military bases American in the Persian
- 14:06Gulf. And that's been the same statement
- 14:09for the last couple of weeks at least.
- 14:12Uh new rules for shipping through
- 14:14Hormuse that would allow the Iranian
- 14:16authorities to collect payments from
- 14:18vessels.
- 14:20the lifting of uh sanctions against
- 14:22Iran, guarantees from Washington that it
- 14:25won't resume military action. Why would
- 14:27anybody believe that? Uh that's uh
- 14:30that's flatout lie. You say that they
- 14:34they uh cessation of talks on Israel
- 14:38against Hezbollah in Lebanon. Exclusion
- 14:41of the issue of Iranian ballistic
- 14:43missile program from the agenda of
- 14:45future negotiations. Spanish Prime
- 14:48Minister Pedro Sanchez calls uh the
- 14:50USIsraeli war against Iran an absolute
- 14:53disaster
- 14:55and it was launched to feed the
- 14:57interests of the usual suspects and all
- 15:00for what? He says to undermine
- 15:02international law, destabilize the
- 15:05Middle East, reignite conflict with Iraq
- 15:08and Lebanon and bury Gaza under the
- 15:11rubble of oblivion and indifference is
- 15:14what he told his parliament. The
- 15:16conflict is an absurd and illegal war, a
- 15:20cruel one that sets us back from
- 15:22achieving our economic, social,
- 15:24environmental goals, said the prime
- 15:26minister. Sanchez suggested that Israeli
- 15:29Prime Minister Netanyahu seeks to
- 15:31inflict the same level of damage and
- 15:33destruction in Lebanon as the IDF did on
- 15:36Gaza during the conflict with Hamas.
- 15:39Iranian media released a video of what
- 15:41they call a cruise missile launch aimed
- 15:44at the Abraham Lincoln. The US has not
- 15:47reported any damage. Trump claimed that
- 15:49Tran had launched a 100 missiles at the
- 15:52Abraham Lincoln, but that every single
- 15:54one of them was knocked down. Iranian
- 15:58authorities have claimed to have
- 16:00arrested 39 mercenaries working for
- 16:03terrorist groups and the Zionist regime
- 16:06saying that they confiscated 49 homemade
- 16:08bombs to Kalishnikov
- 16:11guns as well as other weaponry and
- 16:13ammunition. Russia is sending a delivery
- 16:16of humanitarian assistance to Iran. 300
- 16:20tons of medical supplies emergency
- 16:22ministry has announced saying that it
- 16:24will be transferred via Azerbaijan.
- 16:27Uh Pirin uh Koulivand head of Iran's Red
- 16:32Crescent society confirms these plans
- 16:35said that several other countries like
- 16:37China, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan are also
- 16:40stepping up.
- 16:42Speaker of Iranian Parliament Muhammad
- 16:44Berbuff has said that tyran tan is
- 16:47watching redeployment of troops closely
- 16:50from the US warning that uh what
- 16:52generals uh break soldiers can't fix. Um
- 16:56well what generals have already broken
- 16:58that you know soldiers on the ground
- 17:00aren't going to be able to fix and say
- 17:01that they will also fall victim to
- 17:04Netanyahu's delusions. The US and Israel
- 17:07have plans for another two to three week
- 17:09war against Thrron. Uh even if talks
- 17:14with Thrron take place, says Axios.
- 17:17Uh Turkey is passing messages between uh
- 17:21the US and Iran. Uh, Israel Electric
- 17:26Corporation has dismissed early reports
- 17:30of damage to the country's power grid
- 17:33from Iranian strikes.
- 17:37So,
- 17:39lots of news to keep track of on this uh
- 17:43lovely Wednesday.
- 17:46Um,
- 17:50let's see. I'm going to switch to this
- 17:54side of the planet uh here and tell you
- 17:59a little bit about
- 18:03Hungary
- 18:05no longer delivering gas to Ukraine.
- 18:12So, up until about a year and a half
- 18:14ago,
- 18:15uh August of uh 2024
- 18:20when uh the Ukrainians were in getting
- 18:24involved in uh you know, going into
- 18:27Belgared, going into Kursk, uh the the
- 18:30Russian
- 18:31uh regions right across the border from
- 18:33Ukraine.
- 18:35Uh before that time there were rather
- 18:39large
- 18:41uh gas and oil pipelines
- 18:43through the
- 18:46uh
- 18:47entire country of Ukraine into the uh
- 18:53Eastern European countries
- 18:56and into Hungary for sure.
- 19:00So
- 19:02they went, you know, the the the fuel
- 19:04and the oil would go one direction uh
- 19:07into Europe and it was that's how they
- 19:09got cheap uh you know very lowcost uh
- 19:14Russian
- 19:16um
- 19:18oil and gas but it's the reverse now. So
- 19:23electricity
- 19:25uh other forms of energy supply come
- 19:28back through Drewgeba and through uh
- 19:32come up south I forget the name of the
- 19:34other one Turk stream and uh they come
- 19:37around through Greece and and then up
- 19:39into u Hungary and region Serbia that
- 19:43area and then uh or around through
- 19:47Malddova and back into Ukraine. So
- 19:51Ukraine is getting uh supplies that way.
- 19:56But Hungary is saying that now they're
- 19:58going to halt natural gas deliveries to
- 20:00Ukraine until Kiev restores the flow of
- 20:04Russian oil through the Drewgeba
- 20:06pipeline. In a video posted to his
- 20:09Facebook page Wednesday, Orban said that
- 20:12Ukraine has been blocking the operation
- 20:14of the oil pipeline for 30 days. Um, and
- 20:18as long as Ukraine does not provide oil
- 20:22to Hungary, it will not receive gas from
- 20:26Hungary. Orbin states that gas that
- 20:28would have been sent to Ukraine will
- 20:30instead be stored in Hungary and says
- 20:33the move is necessary considering that
- 20:35Ukraine is also attacking the southern
- 20:38gas pipelines that supply Hungary,
- 20:40referring to Turkstream that brings
- 20:43Russian gas to Hungary via Turkey and
- 20:46the Balkans.
- 20:47We will defend Hungary's energy
- 20:50security, the protected petrol price,
- 20:53and the reduced gas prices or been
- 20:55declared. He said the country has so far
- 20:58been able to successfully defend against
- 21:01Ukrainian blackmail thanks to the
- 21:03protected price screen price scheme that
- 21:06Hungarians pay, the lowest price at gas
- 21:09stations in all of Europe.
- 21:13Hm.
- 21:15Uh, let's see.
- 21:19Orbin's announcement come a minute. It's
- 21:21a longunning dispute. It's been going on
- 21:23for a couple of months now. Um, between
- 21:26Budapest and Kiev because Ukraine halted
- 21:29oil shipments through Duja in January
- 21:32and uh said that u supposedly the lines
- 21:36were damaged by the Russians. It's
- 21:38always the Russians that have done it.
- 21:40Moscow denies the accusation in Hungary
- 21:42and Slovakia who are reliant on the
- 21:45pipeline. Also, doubt gives excuses.
- 21:48They're trying to wait until after the
- 21:50elections so that Orban hopefully gets
- 21:54thrown out. You get somebody far more
- 21:56pro- Ukraine, pro- EU instead of Orbin
- 22:02who is not pro- Ukraine by any stretch.
- 22:05Um,
- 22:07uh, Peter, uh, Zajarto, foreign minister
- 22:11of Hungary, says that the satellite
- 22:13imagery says that the a fully
- 22:15operational pipeline does exist and that
- 22:19Kiev is refusing to allow a joint
- 22:21inspection,
- 22:22which proves the decision is only
- 22:25political.
- 22:26And uh Budapest is also retaliating by
- 22:29vetoing the $90 billion that uh Ukraine
- 22:33was supposed to get in the form of a
- 22:36alleged loan which they never have to
- 22:39repay. Um and they blocked a new round
- 22:42of sanctions against Russia. What is it
- 22:44the 21st 22nd 22nd uh wave of u package
- 22:53of sanctions, right?
- 22:55and they oppose Gibbs's EU membership
- 22:59and Orbin said that Budapest is not
- 23:01going to back down unless and until the
- 23:05pipeline starts back up. So, same old
- 23:09problem. You could fast forward a month
- 23:11and you'd still have the uh the same uh
- 23:14the same incidents, right?
- 23:17Um,
- 23:19tell you what, I am going to uh
- 23:24take a a small break here and in the
- 23:28meantime, I believe we're going to
- 23:30listen to some jazz.
- 23:34Let's see. And I'll be back with you in
- 23:36just a minute.
- 23:47Moonlight spills on quiet shoes.
- 23:54Every step removes the blues.
- 24:01I follow shadows loose and free
- 24:07letting rhythm
- 24:10carry me.
- 24:14Gravity loosens worries move
- 24:20subtle groove moon
- 24:23smooth and wide pulls the dark and
- 24:27gentle tide not too bright
- 24:32just the night
- 24:40I danced alone. through crowded bars.
- 24:47Never felt the beat of stars.
- 24:52>> Your time in lands like lunar
- 25:00got in motion
- 25:03calming heart.
- 25:07The sky close, the floor grease. Every
- 25:12movement finds its ease. Moon let slow
- 25:17ignition turning silence into mission.
- 25:22No command, no demand, just the way we
- 25:28understand. If clouds erase the silver
- 25:31hue, the rhythm still will pull us
- 25:36through.
- 25:39Brushes whisper, feet align. Time drifts
- 25:43off out of line.
- 25:54Moon lit groove deep and true. Every
- 25:58step returns to you. Held between the
- 26:03dark and blue. Forever moving. Moon it
- 26:08grew. Base fades low. Night exhale.
- 26:12Stars retreat behind the veil.
- 26:36and I return. Uh sorry for that little
- 26:39break there. Had to uh uh go and uh take
- 26:43care of something in the office. Um let
- 26:47us see.
- 26:50I wanted to share with you. I couldn't
- 26:52find the story yesterday. Um and there's
- 26:55a couple of one of them I find to be a
- 26:58little bit amusing
- 27:00that u again still about Ukraine right
- 27:08uh Ukranska Pravda newspaper
- 27:13uh in Ukraine
- 27:15let's see Washington that they say that
- 27:19Washington is offering Kiev
- 27:23economic IC benefits
- 27:25if well and security exchanges in
- 27:29exchange for a full withdrawal from
- 27:32whatever is remaining of the uh uh
- 27:35Ukrainian occupied uh Donbass region
- 27:39which is mostly uh
- 27:42Detsk Lugansk um Detsk is basically 96
- 27:4898%
- 27:50uh Russian occupied right now and uh
- 27:54Lugansk is about 85 90 and Russia is
- 28:00still pushing. There's been a little bit
- 28:02of counteratt attacks going on in the
- 28:04last uh couple of months. And so
- 28:08allegedly, according to Ukrineska
- 28:10Pravda, the US is trying to convince
- 28:14Ukraine to withdraw from the Dawnbass
- 28:17and reach peace with Moscow while
- 28:20promising Kiev security guarantees and
- 28:23sweeping economic benefits in return.
- 28:26Now, you aren't hearing anything but
- 28:28Iran, Iran, Iran in the United States,
- 28:30right? Um,
- 28:33uh, this is reported on Tuesday and, uh,
- 28:36Kiev has refused the offer so far and
- 28:39Ukrainian officials, you know, probably
- 28:42trying to, you know, line their own
- 28:43pockets first
- 28:46trying to divert US attention away from
- 28:48this issue even as Washington is
- 28:51allegedly running out of patience.
- 28:56H
- 28:58several Russian officials told the
- 29:00newspaper that the issue of Donbass,
- 29:03which joined the Russian Republic in
- 29:052022 in referenda, but remains partially
- 29:09under Kiev's control, is one of the key
- 29:11obstacles toward peace. Kiev has
- 29:15consistently refused to pull back from
- 29:17what remains of its uh occupation of
- 29:20part of the region. and Moscow says this
- 29:23is a key prerequisite for peace. Um,
- 29:28the Americans do not see how we can
- 29:31reach an agreement on the main issue,
- 29:34said an unnamed Ukrainian official,
- 29:36saying that the US would eventually
- 29:38decide to walk out of the settlement
- 29:40talks to focus on Iran and its own
- 29:43domestic agenda.
- 29:45and uh and uh you know uh officials
- 29:51noted that the US is even ready to offer
- 29:55real security guarantees if we withdraw
- 29:58from Donbass. Second source says that US
- 30:01Ukraine talks feel like there are three
- 30:03sides present at the meeting and Ukraine
- 30:06has to constantly argue with the
- 30:08Americans over the anchorage framework
- 30:11reached during Putin and Trump Alaska
- 30:13summit last summer. Leave the Dawnbass,
- 30:17we'll build you a paradise as agreed in
- 30:19Alaska, said a source describing US
- 30:24stance. With US pressure mounting,
- 30:27Ukrainian officials are spending a lot
- 30:29of time trying to divert Americans from
- 30:31the idea of withdrawal
- 30:34and instead toward the creation of some
- 30:36economic zone or something else. But at
- 30:39some point everything is thrown aside
- 30:41and we again hear you just have to leave
- 30:43from the Americans.
- 30:45And so it goes in circles. Zalinski
- 30:49acknowledged US pressure last month and
- 30:52insists
- 30:53that Kiev is not losing the war even
- 30:57while it loses the war.
- 31:01The latest round of US Ukraine talks uh
- 31:04took place last weekend and Ukrainian
- 31:06officials said they were focusing on
- 31:08security guarantees and prisoner
- 31:10exchanges. Well, okay. You're not
- 31:13getting any security guarantees till you
- 31:14leave the Dawnbass. And uh you know, you
- 31:16exchange your your 1,00 to 2526
- 31:21one. And this is what happens. every
- 31:24every
- 31:25death exchange and prisoner exchange is
- 31:28like a 100 10 to 15 to one uh amount in
- 31:33favor of those being given away by the
- 31:36Ukrainians because the Russians have far
- 31:39fewer well well far fewer dead dead
- 31:42bodies and the Ukrainians have far fewer
- 31:45Russian um
- 31:48soldiers. So the the Russians aren't
- 31:50seeking the return of dead bodies and
- 31:52Ukraine doesn't have them, but Russia
- 31:54has collected thousands of uh of
- 31:57Ukrainian bodies from the battlefield.
- 32:00So the latest round of US Ukrainian
- 32:02talks took place last weekend. However,
- 32:05trilateral talks involving Russia are on
- 32:08ice amid the Iran war, says Dimmitri
- 32:12Peskov, the uh spokesman from the
- 32:18Kremlin.
- 32:20and uh they're on situational pause for
- 32:23obvious reasons, he says. And we'll
- 32:26resume once schedules align um with
- 32:30those that American uh
- 32:33uh negotiators. So that was
- 32:36entertaining. Um I wanted to point out
- 32:39to you the another interesting story.
- 32:44Where is it? I told you a little bit
- 32:47about it yesterday, but I was able to
- 32:49find the article. So,
- 32:53Musk and Starlink have been criticized
- 32:55all over Africa and criticized uh all
- 32:58over Russia and and countries in in that
- 33:02area for they are basically according to
- 33:06them, you know, from that area of the
- 33:08world, they're just an arm of the
- 33:10Pentagon. and uh
- 33:14Musk is allowed to make uh billions off
- 33:17of the Pentagon and the Pentagon doesn't
- 33:20have to worry about it and then they
- 33:22provide Starlink for free to Ukraine.
- 33:25Allegedly, when the war first started
- 33:28over there, Starlink couldn't be used
- 33:30for strikes into
- 33:33Russia, but but that has been
- 33:38not discussed recently. Uh the the
- 33:41belief is that it's been some time that
- 33:43the Pentagon and uh Musk have been
- 33:46supplying free uh
- 33:51Starlink access to Ukraine.
- 33:54Well, Russia as of
- 33:58yesterday, well, published yesterday
- 34:00with video, full video, Russian private
- 34:04space company has successfully placed
- 34:07into orbit the first 16
- 34:11satellites of their planned broadband
- 34:14internet network intended as the
- 34:17domestic alternative to Starlink.
- 34:21Uh on Tuesday, the developer uh Bureau
- 34:241440
- 34:26released footage showing Raset uh which
- 34:30means Dawn satellites separating from
- 34:33their launch rockets. According to the
- 34:35company, all units are functioning
- 34:37properly properly and will maneuver into
- 34:41their assigned orbits after completing
- 34:44system checks. Bureau 1440 carried out
- 34:48test launches uh last year and uh
- 34:52deployed the initial three of each
- 34:54prototype satellites uh twice last year.
- 34:58The company says technology is since u
- 35:00uh fully developed. First phase of the
- 35:03project has more than 250
- 35:07satellites
- 35:08uh to be sent into orbit. Equipped the
- 35:11laser transponders for inorbit
- 35:14communications by mid to late 2027
- 35:19and plans to expand the constellation to
- 35:22around 900 satellites total by 2035.
- 35:28Starlink, which be began commercial
- 35:31service in 2020, is viewed very
- 35:35skeptically by Russia
- 35:41and they describe it as the Pentagon
- 35:43communications
- 35:44system. So, um that's that's what they
- 35:49call it. So, this is
- 35:52uh Russian satellite internet project
- 35:54launched in 2020.
- 35:57Initially funded by mobile phone
- 35:59operator Megaphone before being
- 36:02transferred to X holding a domestic uh
- 36:06major domestic IT group Bureau 1440 it
- 36:09gets government's port relies on launch
- 36:12services from the Russian National Space
- 36:16Agency Roscosmos
- 36:19and uh so
- 36:23uh during its demonstrations in the last
- 36:26couple Deputy Prime Minister Dimmitri
- 36:29Cherenko showcased technology by
- 36:32conducting video calls with officials
- 36:35located on Mount Fish, a remote site,
- 36:391300 kilometers away. company's main
- 36:42goal is to expand connectivity in remote
- 36:45regions with undeveloped
- 36:48underdeveloped ground infrastructure and
- 36:51uh they wish to ensure internet access
- 36:54uh for long-d distanceance transport for
- 36:56trains and aircraft.
- 37:00Um on the similar topic,
- 37:04where is that?
- 37:06Darn it. What have I done?
- 37:11Hm.
- 37:13The US
- 37:15is now accused of smuggling Starlink
- 37:18into Iran amid the riots. So, you
- 37:22administration of President Trump
- 37:24covertly smuggled around 6,000 satellite
- 37:28terminals into Iran
- 37:31earlier this year, says the Wall Street
- 37:34Journal. and uh they substantiate uh
- 37:37Thran's claim of uh foreign interference
- 37:40uh in the riots that occurred earlier.
- 37:43The operation, which senior officials
- 37:45say involved State Department funding,
- 37:48of course, uh comes after Iranian
- 37:51authorities imposed a sweeping internet
- 37:53blockout in January. Trump was aware of
- 37:55the deliveries, officials told the Wall
- 37:58Street Journal, although it remains
- 38:00unclear whether he personally approved
- 38:02the plan. Iranian officials accuse
- 38:05Washington Tel Aviv of fueling unrest.
- 38:08Uh blah blah blah blah. At the height of
- 38:11the unrest, Trump encourages the
- 38:14peaceful Iranian protesters to post his
- 38:17post on truth say uh social Iranian
- 38:20patriots keep protesting. Take over your
- 38:24public institutions if possible.
- 38:27He also promised that help is on the way
- 38:30and he's going to deploy deploy a
- 38:33beautiful armada to the region. And uh
- 38:37jeez, how exciting for them back in
- 38:39January, wasn't it? And look where we
- 38:41are now. Uh oh my god, a two pilots
- 38:46killed in a Lawardia
- 38:49airport runway collision. Collision
- 38:51shows an Air Canada uh Air Canada plane.
- 38:56Can't see the other one, but uh so
- 38:59LaGuardia, two pilots killed. That's no
- 39:02good. Um crashing two planes.
- 39:07Crazy sauce.
- 39:09Um, so sticking with the internet for a
- 39:13little bit
- 39:15on Musk,
- 39:17the
- 39:19Starlink has been blocked from operating
- 39:23in Namibia. Namibia is refusing to grant
- 39:26Starlink a license amid mounting push
- 39:29back against a US satellite internet
- 39:32provider. Communication Regulatory
- 39:35Authority of Namibia announced a move
- 39:38Monday. said it had rejected the
- 39:40company's application for service. The
- 39:43authority resolved to decline the award
- 39:46of class comprehensiveness
- 39:47telecommunication service license for
- 39:50Starlink. The regulator did not provide
- 39:53a detailed reason for the move, but
- 39:55noted that Starlink's Namibian
- 39:58subsidiary
- 39:59lacks local ownership and added the
- 40:02decision was taken in accordance with
- 40:05applicable licensing regulations.
- 40:08Uh the regulator said it could
- 40:11reconsider its decision on its own or on
- 40:14a petition filed by an agrieved party
- 40:16within 90 days. The bid faces hurdles
- 40:19over Namibia's local ownership law which
- 40:22typically requires 51% majority domestic
- 40:26shareholding with Starlink and um
- 40:29seeking an exemption as a wholly owned
- 40:32foreign company.
- 40:34Nobody nobody gets to own anything if
- 40:36you're in Namibia. Uh Russia starts uh
- 40:39blah blah blah blah blah. Sorry, wrong
- 40:41line. In 2024, Starlink uh was issued a
- 40:44cease and desist and instructed to halt
- 40:46all operation in the country. They
- 40:48warned the public against using Starly
- 40:50equipment or subscribing to its
- 40:52services, saying that such use is
- 40:54illegal under Namibian law. So the old
- 40:57uh Musk has been breaking the law.
- 41:01Breaking the law. Breaking the law. Uh
- 41:03Cameron, let's see. Um
- 41:07uh Cameroon, sorry, took action against
- 41:09a company in 2024, uh banning the import
- 41:12of Starling kits, suspending services,
- 41:15seizing satellite internet equipment
- 41:17over licensing violations. South Africa.
- 41:20Musk's country of birth hasn't approved
- 41:23the services also amid dispute over
- 41:26black ownership law that require telecom
- 41:29license holders to have at least 30%
- 41:32local ownership by historically
- 41:35disadvantaged groups as well as broad
- 41:38regulatory commissions. Starlink has not
- 41:42yet commented.
- 41:44H.
- 41:47Yeah.
- 41:49Let's see.
- 41:51We're going to head back to Ukraine here
- 41:55because it's so interesting. Yes. Claims
- 41:59of reclaimed
- 42:01territory prove hollow
- 42:04as Russians consolidate their positions
- 42:08from Sunumi to Zaparisia.
- 42:12And uh
- 42:15Russian army has considerably reduced
- 42:18its combat activity this spring as is
- 42:21usual this time of year. Typically at
- 42:24the end of winter and in early spring,
- 42:26Russian forces take time to prepare for
- 42:29a new military campaign. But just like
- 42:32last year, uh the offensives do not come
- 42:35to a complete stop. They just uh slow
- 42:38down a little bit. Um in Sumi the uh
- 42:42expanding buffer zone is there remember
- 42:44uh Trump up in Sumi it's on the northern
- 42:46side uh between Belgid and Sunumi area
- 42:51of Ukraine. So the Russians are trying
- 42:53to get in there and take a
- 42:5620 30 kilometer wide
- 42:59border position uh all the way across
- 43:02the northern parts of Sunumi.
- 43:06Uh let's see.
- 43:10Uh at the end of last year, the northern
- 43:13group of forces opened a new front in
- 43:15Sunumi and they um have uh made
- 43:19reasonably good progress in that side uh
- 43:23on the way toward the the state or I'm
- 43:26sorry the u city of Sunumi
- 43:30which is capital of the uh territory of
- 43:35Sunumi region the region and in savor K,
- 43:38which was captured on December 11, is an
- 43:41important but intermediate stop on the
- 43:43key area of the Donbass. The Slavanskurk
- 43:47urban conglomeration,
- 43:49and that's a pretty big conglomeration.
- 43:52The southern group of forces needs to
- 43:54cover a 25 to 30 kilometer um stretch to
- 43:59reach Slavanskin chromators can overcome
- 44:02a significant elevation along the way.
- 44:06Uh where else are they going? If you
- 44:08watch the the supply lines, it's uh the
- 44:12same old same old. They cut off access
- 44:16to railway. They cut off access to major
- 44:19roadways. They encircle
- 44:22particular cities and then end up uh
- 44:26taking it over.
- 44:28And that is the way that it goes. So
- 44:32that's kind of the catch up. and we may
- 44:35come back to it. Um, see if there's
- 44:38anything else uh on world news that I
- 44:40wanted to talk about the uh
- 44:44the
- 44:48uh Bangladesh
- 44:51jet fuel prices
- 44:53are up 80%.
- 44:5880%.
- 45:00So in just in the last uh in in the last
- 45:03week um let's see if we can find this
- 45:10Bangladesh has an 80% hike in jet fuel
- 45:13prices the second upward revision uh in
- 45:17in March says the national regulator the
- 45:20Bangladeshi uh regulatory commission
- 45:24said that we had to adjust jet fuel
- 45:26price for the jet fuel price for the
- 45:28second time this
- 45:30because uh the international fuel prices
- 45:33just keep going up. Jet fuel has been
- 45:37set at $132 per liter.
- 45:41That's over five bucks a gallon uh for
- 45:44international flights. The revised rates
- 45:47apply to local and foreign carriers. Uh
- 45:50pricing tiers may vary depending on, you
- 45:53know, how much you buy, operational
- 45:55category, that type stuff. And um that
- 45:59that that remember me telling you
- 46:01yesterday about the Bangladeshies really
- 46:03having trouble uh and they they quite a
- 46:06few countries Pakistan also uh
- 46:09cancelling
- 46:11um cancelling
- 46:14crowds
- 46:16at sporting events can't do it and uh so
- 46:21that's not permitted. Let's see.
- 46:25Other South Asian nations have al
- 46:28nations have also been there. Pet uh
- 46:30Pakistan has kept petrol and high-speed
- 46:32diesel prices unchanged. But jet fuel
- 46:35and kerosene have been uh seriously
- 46:39uh increased. India and Nepal uh are are
- 46:43experiencing problems like I told you on
- 46:45cooking oil and stuff like that
- 46:46yesterday.
- 46:48Okay. Well, all that as the backdrop, I
- 46:52really do hope um
- 46:56the that cooler heads prevail and war
- 47:01gets uh
- 47:05somehow discussed and minimized. So far,
- 47:08it's not happening and uh we shall see
- 47:11uh what shall be seen. But um this
- 47:16I see I see personally uh a much longer
- 47:20war footing. I don't see this is going
- 47:23away anytime soon. We still got all our
- 47:25cheerleaders out there pushing for more.
- 47:29And um you know the same old standard
- 47:32folks are being uh uh
- 47:37are being the cheerleaders here, right?
- 47:41Um, I wanted to switch and talk about I
- 47:45was reading. So, I get kind of an
- 47:47intelligence report, an an up an update
- 47:51basically daily. And I get uh I I try to
- 47:56get an international one, a uh
- 48:01national focused one, and then I get a
- 48:04um a Missouri
- 48:06looking at what's going on in Missouri.
- 48:08And uh told you yesterday a little bit
- 48:11about my discussion with um I was very
- 48:15encouraged uh had a good conversation
- 48:19with uh representative uh Cook who I
- 48:25basically thought uh from my article
- 48:29that I shared last Friday uh when I'm
- 48:32going to talk in more detail about this
- 48:34Friday
- 48:36what thought that he was being played.
- 48:38Okay.
- 48:40And or not being told everything when uh
- 48:45uh the the sunshine documents that I've
- 48:48picked up and that I've received in
- 48:50response to what they uh have been doing
- 48:55uh from the ATC side
- 48:58uh
- 49:00are are are
- 49:02telling. They're very telling that ATC
- 49:06after a hearing in December immediately
- 49:10started pushing for arrest authority
- 49:15uh and inside of the um through the
- 49:20legislature, right? So, they're trying
- 49:22to get it these things pushed through
- 49:25the legislature.
- 49:26And I told you a little bit in that
- 49:29report about how they're trying to
- 49:31mirror some
- 49:34they're trying to mirror some language
- 49:36that come come about through cannabis
- 49:38legislation if you remember me talking
- 49:40about that. And so
- 49:45a Missouri appeals court recently
- 49:49ordered regulators. I told you about how
- 49:52many licenses
- 49:5520ish licenses that uh were issued for
- 49:59for various types of cannabis. And of
- 50:03those 36 37 of them had already been
- 50:06revoked. And so they're they're looking
- 50:09to put more impact on this and some of
- 50:13the changes that were part of uh 3154,
- 50:16House Bill, and House Bill 2378, which
- 50:21both have been withdrawn at least as far
- 50:23as they uh well, according to
- 50:25Representative Cook anyway, he says that
- 50:28those two are are dead uh further this
- 50:31year. Uh they, you know, they're not
- 50:34going to go on and they'll have to
- 50:35revisit it. But he told me they were
- 50:37pulled. That's what he said. And uh he
- 50:40called me, I offered to uh uh speak with
- 50:43him, have him, you know, on the program,
- 50:45something like that. And he uh
- 50:49uh said that when he contacted me, sent
- 50:52me an email, uh contacted me. I sent him
- 50:55my cell phone number. called me and um
- 51:01he says that 3154 and 2378
- 51:05at least the ATC portions there of are
- 51:09dead and uh has to do with the uh the
- 51:12the
- 51:15efforts you know and the discussions
- 51:17we've taken. We've sent out several
- 51:19different articles to each and every
- 51:21member of the of the house. I've written
- 51:23six by now and you can find those out at
- 51:26civicoutlaws.com
- 51:28and you can go out and have a look at
- 51:29these articles and uh for me what was
- 51:33important at least in last Friday's and
- 51:36uh if you really want a kind of a tell
- 51:39all about what really happened just go
- 51:41back to last Friday's program and listen
- 51:43to the uh the story
- 51:47um about the hearing that took place in
- 51:50Cole County on December 3rd and then the
- 51:52immediate immediate activities of the uh
- 51:54state regulatory agency to create for
- 52:00themselves arrest power. Uh we had
- 52:03talked before about how they uh claim
- 52:05they're a police department. They deny
- 52:07it, but then all their their their
- 52:10investigation reports are there. They
- 52:12have they have licensing agents going
- 52:15undercover.
- 52:17And what in the hell is that? Since when
- 52:19is a licensing regulatory agency
- 52:23authorized to go undercover to
- 52:26investigate a liquor license?
- 52:29Undercover. No, I'm I'll be doing a a
- 52:32complete uh investigation and report
- 52:36into that. Who says they can do it and
- 52:38analyze the law regarding it? And uh we
- 52:42could have a discussion about that. But
- 52:46the initial thought is what in the world
- 52:49kind of nutty world do you have to live
- 52:51in where a licensing agent who isn't
- 52:54even a police officer but they're
- 52:56postcertified? You can't figure I can't
- 52:58figure out just a couple of things for a
- 53:01Why aren't we uh why aren't we going
- 53:04undercover in uh um
- 53:08licensing agents going undercover? Why
- 53:10Why aren't they going undercover?
- 53:12Licensed agents at a a doctor's office
- 53:15or chiropractor's office, right? Why
- 53:18don't we do that? Have them go
- 53:20undercover. If you're going to go
- 53:22undercover, get a police department to
- 53:24do it. And alcohol tobacco aren't
- 53:27police. They aren't authorized to.
- 53:28They're postcertified. They carry
- 53:30weapons, which is stupid and foolish. I
- 53:33don't understand why that's occurring.
- 53:35That makes no sense at all. Um, you have
- 53:37to do that. You have to carry a weapon
- 53:40and then the guys go undercover. Oh, I'm
- 53:43going to leave my weapon and my badge
- 53:44out in the car and I'm going to go in
- 53:46and investigate.
- 53:48Great.
- 53:50You got to go
- 53:52you How about you uh a pharmacy has to
- 53:55have a license, right? You can't just go
- 53:58be a pharmacist. Well, why aren't we
- 53:59going undercover at the pharmacy? And if
- 54:02you did go undercover, you'd either have
- 54:04to have a uh an approved uh activity or
- 54:07a warrant. Not so if you're
- 54:09investigating on behalf of alcohol
- 54:12tobacco control. Those guys, we don't
- 54:15need no stinking badges. We will leave
- 54:17them out in the leave them in the car
- 54:19and we'll leave some backup people out
- 54:21there in case they got to rush in and
- 54:24take a license down, you know, and or
- 54:26they got to rush in and um I don't know
- 54:28what. Uh see how see how much alcohol
- 54:31content is in the uh is in the bottle of
- 54:34wine hanging over there. Uh whole
- 54:38thing's uh you know I hate to be too
- 54:39facitious and joking about it but it's
- 54:42nuts. It's uh it's uh crazy. Let's see.
- 54:48I am
- 54:50looking at some u pretty cool stuff. Um,
- 54:58this is awesome. I I'm I just got a text
- 55:01on some of the There's uh some people um
- 55:06uh let's I'm just going to say yes to
- 55:08this. Sorry, I'm I never This is one of
- 55:10the reasons I never read my text
- 55:12messages, but uh one of the things I
- 55:15want to read to you or tell you about is
- 55:17uh uh
- 55:20it's on my phone and uh I can't pull it
- 55:22up on there. So, now I've gotten text
- 55:24messages that are showing up out there.
- 55:27And uh I didn't sleep last night again,
- 55:29just in case you're wondering because of
- 55:31the uh uh
- 55:35uh because uh
- 55:38I don't know. I never sleep, but I had a
- 55:40dog again in the house. He's he's a a
- 55:42friend. He he is a friendly dog that's
- 55:45hanging out with me in the evenings. And
- 55:47uh um you know I heard him yipping in
- 55:50the other room whilst uh one point at
- 55:53night there doesn't like sitting in
- 55:55there you got to get up in the middle of
- 55:57night and hey come out and when I wake
- 55:59up middle night
- 56:02sleep does not reoccur for quite some
- 56:05time which is uh highly frustrating. Um
- 56:08I also and I'm kind of all over the map
- 56:11again. Next week I'm uh uh off to uh
- 56:13Kentucky. Going to see some uh harsh
- 56:16races. We're going to go out and do some
- 56:19uh uh uh tourism in Kentucky. Now
- 56:22Kentucky is a very beautiful uh state.
- 56:24Um plenty to plenty to see and do there.
- 56:28And we're going to go to uh blueg grass
- 56:30uh bluegrass stakes, I think it's
- 56:33called. and uh um
- 56:36take some some uh horse tours, stuff
- 56:39like that. Um so uh next Wednesday, next
- 56:42Thursday
- 56:44uh you and unless I happen to uh record
- 56:47one early, there will not be a program
- 56:51and uh Friday, I do still plan on doing
- 56:54or pre-recording um for next Friday.
- 56:56we're talking about now. Um, a civic
- 57:01outlaws, but that one will be
- 57:04pre-recorded.
- 57:06Okay. Um, but I want to go have a look
- 57:10at a Missouri Court of Appeals decision
- 57:13that has ordered regulators to uh
- 57:19to
- 57:22uh re to issue licenses to 13
- 57:27facility license to Hippos LLC
- 57:31after a finding that the 2019 scoring
- 57:35process
- 57:36was inconsistent and performed by
- 57:39graders whose qualifications were never
- 57:43established. This ruling implicates
- 57:45potentially hundreds of decisions
- 57:49and nearly 850
- 57:53pending appeals, a systemic integrity
- 57:56crisis for the division of cannabis
- 58:01regulation. Now, I've told you before on
- 58:04this channel that I am not a
- 58:09smoker. Um,
- 58:13I I have never, you know, engaged in
- 58:16drug use. I'm just not one of those. I I
- 58:19don't support it. I don't give a crap if
- 58:21other people do, but leave me out of it.
- 58:24Okay? And uh I don't want anything to do
- 58:28with it, but I don't care.
- 58:31Um,
- 58:34I'm I'm trying to get to the actual
- 58:36ruling itself
- 58:38and get a uh appellet court
- 58:46uh decision. See what it says. So, the
- 58:49court orders Missouri to issue 13
- 58:53licenses.
- 58:55Um,
- 58:56this was and they conducted an audit.
- 58:59And so this was a Missouri Western Court
- 59:01of Appeals case that came up. And so we
- 59:05do keep track of this because we're
- 59:07starting a uh an organization called the
- 59:10Missouri
- 59:12uh License Protection Association.
- 59:15That'll be a 501c6
- 59:21uh
- 59:23organization. 501c3. That's our civic
- 59:26outlaws uh um operation.
- 59:31501c6 allows uh you know banding
- 59:35together for kind of a common cause and
- 59:39uh providing defenses to each other. So
- 59:42we're starting that. And so this
- 59:46decision that just uh came out five six
- 59:49days ago
- 59:52says that
- 59:54the Missouri appeals court
- 59:57rebuked the state's marijuana licensing
- 1:00:00process.
- 1:00:02This isn't This is not Unfortunately,
- 1:00:06the more I look into the more licensing
- 1:00:09that we go further on here, the worse it
- 1:00:14gets.
- 1:00:17It's It's not just ATC. I have been ATC
- 1:00:21has made it quite easy, you know, to go
- 1:00:24after them. I mean, they're I don't say
- 1:00:26they're run poorly. I don't really care.
- 1:00:28But they're taking authority that
- 1:00:30doesn't belong to them. hasn't been
- 1:00:32given to them and they're trying to
- 1:00:34expand it. I mean, that much is clear.
- 1:00:36Okay. And now the court has uh beat up
- 1:00:41upon the um regulatory agency for
- 1:00:49marijuana. And uh uh so the unanimous
- 1:00:54ruling came after a scathing state audit
- 1:00:59found flaws, erratic scoring, poor
- 1:01:03documentation,
- 1:01:05and a process so opaque that it cast
- 1:01:09doubt on the integrity of results.
- 1:01:12Welcome to bureaucracy Allah, Missouri.
- 1:01:16The decision issued last week by the
- 1:01:18Missouri Court of Appeals Southern
- 1:01:20District does more than revive Hippo's
- 1:01:23long-running challenge over denied
- 1:01:25cultivation, manufacturing, and
- 1:01:28dispensary license it undercuts the
- 1:01:31methodology the Missouri Administrative
- 1:01:34Hearing Commission uses to resolve
- 1:01:37licensing disputes and raises new
- 1:01:40questions about hundreds of rulings
- 1:01:43issued in nearly 800
- 1:01:4650 appeals filed by unsuccessful
- 1:01:49applicants. So Lisa Cox, who's a
- 1:01:52spokeswoman for the Missouri Department
- 1:01:54of Health and Senior Services, uh, which
- 1:01:57oversees cannabis, said the agency is
- 1:01:59developing options in terms of appealing
- 1:02:03the decision that would go to the
- 1:02:05Missouri Supreme Court. HIPPO's
- 1:02:07officials, they never got a hold of to
- 1:02:09for comment. When the Missouri
- 1:02:10Department of Health was working in 2019
- 1:02:13to build the framework for the state's
- 1:02:15now multibillion dollar industry,
- 1:02:20it hired a Nevadaabbased company, Wise
- 1:02:24Health Solutions, to score 2,000
- 1:02:27applications.
- 1:02:30But in each of Hippo's applications,
- 1:02:32there were instances in which identical
- 1:02:35answers to the same question received
- 1:02:38inconsistent stores scores, said Judge
- 1:02:41Jeffrey Bates. That should never have
- 1:02:44occurred if Wise's scorers followed the
- 1:02:47instructions they were given. Neither
- 1:02:49the department nor Wise did anything to
- 1:02:52correct the situation. and Hippo's
- 1:02:54lawsuit challenges the department's
- 1:02:57denial applications for two
- 1:02:58cultivations, six manufacturing, and
- 1:03:01five dispensary licenses. Their first
- 1:03:03stop for appealing the denied
- 1:03:05application was the administrative
- 1:03:08hearing commission, which is where you
- 1:03:09go after your license gets removed for
- 1:03:12every license in the state except for
- 1:03:14the practice of law. I know, you know,
- 1:03:16I've spo spoken on that uh ridiculous
- 1:03:20and uh
- 1:03:22interesting process for how you uh how
- 1:03:25you get scored as a law license holder.
- 1:03:28Uh that and or or as it sits out there
- 1:03:31for two and a half years before they
- 1:03:35have to do anything with your
- 1:03:37application. You can just leave it sit
- 1:03:40and that is a typical bureaucratic move.
- 1:03:43You leave the license sit. You don't
- 1:03:45have to deny it, you just don't take
- 1:03:48action on it. And at some point, that's
- 1:03:50that's an unreasonable delay, right? So,
- 1:03:54uh, the three appellet judges who heard
- 1:03:57this felt that the commission's approach
- 1:03:59to rescoring was completely flawed. The
- 1:04:04raw scores provide no evidence of the
- 1:04:07scorer's intent because there are no
- 1:04:09notes explaining why the score was
- 1:04:11given. So basically rate this on a scale
- 1:04:14of 1 to 10. Um, okay. Well, I say four.
- 1:04:18Next guy goes, "Okay, well I see eight."
- 1:04:21But you don't have to say why, right?
- 1:04:24Just like the Missouri Bar and the
- 1:04:26Supreme Court of Missouri when talking
- 1:04:29about lawyers that apply for a license.
- 1:04:32You don't have to say why. It's just yes
- 1:04:35or no. How can you get nine supreme?
- 1:04:38Now, now these are judges beatating up
- 1:04:40on the administrative or I'm sorry,
- 1:04:42beatating up on the licensing process
- 1:04:44for for cannabis
- 1:04:48just a scoring here. They they can't
- 1:04:50score without giving a reason for the
- 1:04:53score. But if you're a lawyer seeking a
- 1:04:56license and the Supreme Court can just
- 1:04:58say no. But they don't have to say why.
- 1:05:02Just no. That's it. And that's how the
- 1:05:06practice of law is determined in
- 1:05:07Missouri. If you piss off the right
- 1:05:09people, right? You just don't get a
- 1:05:11license. That's that. And uh but you
- 1:05:13don't get to go, well, wait a minute.
- 1:05:15Why? Well, because I said no. That's it.
- 1:05:18And this is what they were doing. And
- 1:05:20this is the court beaten up on that type
- 1:05:24of scoring
- 1:05:27in regulatory agencies. And they write
- 1:05:29these uh you know raw scores. Uh, there
- 1:05:32are no notes that explain why the score
- 1:05:34is given. Okay. Well, then why can the
- 1:05:37Supreme Court say, "No, you can't have a
- 1:05:40license, but we don't have to tell you
- 1:05:41why." Well, we're the Supreme Court. The
- 1:05:44hell?
- 1:05:46We know why, but we don't have to tell
- 1:05:48you. Or we don't even know why. There's
- 1:05:51nine of us, but we've decided no, but we
- 1:05:53haven't or seven of us, and we haven't
- 1:05:54figured out why. You know, we haven't
- 1:05:56figured out which way we're going to
- 1:05:58which way we're going to go depending on
- 1:05:59the court. him. At any rate, uh, judges
- 1:06:01agree with hippos that the commission
- 1:06:03decisions affirming the state denial of
- 1:06:05the company applications were arbitrary,
- 1:06:08capriccious, and unreasonable, and these
- 1:06:10decisions are not supported by competent
- 1:06:13and substantial evidence on the whole
- 1:06:15record. Now, that's a standard
- 1:06:18arbitrary, capricious, unreasonable.
- 1:06:20That's that's what you have to allege.
- 1:06:22And you can go sue them for damages on
- 1:06:24those regards and uh in federal court
- 1:06:26sometimes. That's fun. Uh they remanded
- 1:06:29the case back to the circuit court with
- 1:06:30the direction that the lower court order
- 1:06:33the department to grant hippos the
- 1:06:35cultivation manufacturing and dispensary
- 1:06:39uh facility licenses for which they
- 1:06:42applied and there was no rebuttal. A
- 1:06:44major blow to the state's defense. The
- 1:06:47judges ruled is that Hippos provided two
- 1:06:49credible witnesses who testified that
- 1:06:53the application should have received
- 1:06:54higher scores. And the judges felt that
- 1:06:57the state didn't even fight back. The
- 1:06:59experts were cannabis consultants who
- 1:07:02collectively prepared 83 applications in
- 1:07:04Missouri and more than half of their
- 1:07:07clients applications successfully
- 1:07:09received licenses. But the department
- 1:07:11offered no rebuttal of hippos expert
- 1:07:14testimony and prevented no testimony
- 1:07:16showing why hippos should not be given
- 1:07:19the higher score about which the uh
- 1:07:21experts testified. So you don't have to
- 1:07:24say why
- 1:07:26or or they're telling the uh the
- 1:07:30cannabis regulators that you have to say
- 1:07:32why. But they won't tell the Supreme
- 1:07:35Court that. No, no, no. those
- 1:07:39some licenses are more important than
- 1:07:41others. But we can destroy a person's
- 1:07:43ability to have a job, you know, um as a
- 1:07:46lawyer, although they've paid for the
- 1:07:48education of it, without saying yes or
- 1:07:50no, without saying why. We just say no.
- 1:07:54And uh uh and that's that's okay. But
- 1:07:57not if you want a cannabis license. Gez,
- 1:07:59you want a cannabis license? You want to
- 1:08:01sell cannabis? By God, you better uh you
- 1:08:05better tell them why they can't sell
- 1:08:07cannabis if you're going to deny them a
- 1:08:08license. In the department's response to
- 1:08:11state auditor Scott Fitzpatrick's report
- 1:08:14that was released last month auditing
- 1:08:17the uh the uh regulation process. It
- 1:08:20argued the commission did a thorough
- 1:08:23review of the scoring evidence and heard
- 1:08:25from many experts during hundreds of
- 1:08:27appeals. But Cox said the hippo's case
- 1:08:30was among the first the commission heard
- 1:08:32in the process of reviewing the
- 1:08:34department's licensing decisions. The
- 1:08:37information in the southern divist
- 1:08:39division southern district is seeking
- 1:08:42which is expert testimony regarding the
- 1:08:45department's position has been provided
- 1:08:48in all subsequent cases and supports the
- 1:08:51AHC's determination in Hippo's case. she
- 1:08:54said in an email.
- 1:08:56But the department's audit response
- 1:08:59listed several cases where the
- 1:09:01commission ruled in favor of the
- 1:09:03department. And in at least one of the
- 1:09:06cases, the commission used the same
- 1:09:08methodology that the appeals court last
- 1:09:11week determined was flawed. No notes, no
- 1:09:15evidence. Hippos challenged the scores
- 1:09:17given on several questions in the
- 1:09:19application. The court found it
- 1:09:22difficult to justify scores without
- 1:09:25seeing any notes on why the greater made
- 1:09:28them. After the commission concluded
- 1:09:30that it was required to rescore Hippo's
- 1:09:33applications due to the noted
- 1:09:35inconsistency, the commission stated
- 1:09:37that it was searching for any evidence
- 1:09:40reflecting the score's subjective
- 1:09:42evaluation. Obviously, any notes from a
- 1:09:45scorer about his or her reasons for
- 1:09:47giving a particular score would be
- 1:09:49helpful to show consistency.
- 1:09:53H sounds reasonable to me.
- 1:09:57Why doesn't the Supreme Court have to do
- 1:10:00the same? So, it's this is uh uh ongoing
- 1:10:06stories. Okay. I wanted to talk about
- 1:10:09something else because this is something
- 1:10:12well there are several topics but the
- 1:10:14first one I want to talk about cuz ATC
- 1:10:17they they have more news they're getting
- 1:10:19beat up on not just by me not just by me
- 1:10:23other people are too. So, get this. They
- 1:10:26have this uh uh
- 1:10:30they have a a an outdated
- 1:10:33um what do you call them? The uh AS400
- 1:10:38computer systems. Do you remember those?
- 1:10:39I used those in the in the army a 100red
- 1:10:42years ago. You know, in the early 90s
- 1:10:45and and 2000s, you'd use the AS400. And
- 1:10:49basically, it's a data entry terminal.
- 1:10:52And if you go into state offices or
- 1:10:54anywhere else, you see these old crappy
- 1:10:56um uh beige beige crappy plastic colored
- 1:11:01uh terminals, right? And uh in them they
- 1:11:05have u
- 1:11:08uh the green the green uh
- 1:11:12uh matrix style uh text across the the
- 1:11:17border. That's an AS400. Okay. And the
- 1:11:21AS400 is still being used by uh ATC and
- 1:11:26many other agencies to track your stuff.
- 1:11:28And it's crap. All it is is an old
- 1:11:30database from 100 years ago. And I can't
- 1:11:34imagine that it's cheaper to keep her
- 1:11:36cheaper to keep AS400 and work on that
- 1:11:40than to improve and get new data. And uh
- 1:11:44our sunshine requests have gone out on
- 1:11:46this topic of uh uh trying to find
- 1:11:49records and they cannot manipulate the
- 1:11:51records. They have to have an AS400
- 1:11:53expert, most of which do not exist
- 1:11:56anymore trying except in state agencies.
- 1:11:59They got to go find these guys and go
- 1:12:01train them and send them to ancient
- 1:12:03schools on AS400 because that's what
- 1:12:06they use and been industries aren't
- 1:12:08using that crap anymore. Um and so they
- 1:12:12have stayed they have selected ATC has
- 1:12:16selected Posi ABC as a new enterprise
- 1:12:21licensing system. So, they're starting
- 1:12:23to uh require now people to submit their
- 1:12:28licensing to get an alcohol license or
- 1:12:31tobacco license uh through a new system.
- 1:12:34And they selected Posi ABC from
- 1:12:37Computronics as a new enterprise
- 1:12:40software system to replace the outdated
- 1:12:43platform for managing alcohol licenses
- 1:12:46and law enforcement data. The fully
- 1:12:48integrated web-based system will
- 1:12:51modernize how the division tracks
- 1:12:54licenses and enforcement actions.
- 1:12:59Now, now why are we focusing on
- 1:13:02enforcement and not regulation? What?
- 1:13:04What in the world? Because enforcement I
- 1:13:06I've said this for years. Law
- 1:13:08enforcement. Why can't you be a police
- 1:13:10officer? What's wrong with that? Or a
- 1:13:13peace officer when you're focused on
- 1:13:15peace. No, no, no. We need to enforce.
- 1:13:19We got to wear SWAT gear and we got to
- 1:13:21drive a tank down the streets. You know,
- 1:13:24we got to at least a Bradley. Give us a
- 1:13:26Bradley fighting vehicle at least. And
- 1:13:29um that could be, you know, better
- 1:13:31suited for you. And we need to carry
- 1:13:33weapons to investigate licenses. You
- 1:13:36know, that's nuts.
- 1:13:40I made myself a very nice mint tea here.
- 1:13:43And sorry, it's I'm I'm drinking it up.
- 1:13:45It's a little bit on the not quite cool
- 1:13:48side, but certainly not warm any longer.
- 1:13:52So, they have uh this new LA licensing
- 1:13:56database will affect how you can search
- 1:13:59public record requests and how they're
- 1:14:02going to be structured and fulfilled,
- 1:14:04right? They don't have to prevent
- 1:14:06provide documents in Sunshine if they
- 1:14:08and they don't have to create them. They
- 1:14:10don't have to go out and do it. Now,
- 1:14:13there's a lot of activities going on in
- 1:14:15Sunshine uh enforcement as well. There's
- 1:14:18some bill tracking that I want to
- 1:14:20discuss about that on uh uh
- 1:14:24on Friday in Civic Outlaws. Um
- 1:14:28let's see, the Show Me ID, you know,
- 1:14:32there's an enforcement gap in that.
- 1:14:34their mobile app that ATC uses. Um, it's
- 1:14:39discontinued and has been removed from
- 1:14:41the app store. So, they get out and they
- 1:14:43say, "Okay, everybody, you can verify
- 1:14:45somebody's real ID, but you can't verify
- 1:14:48it anymore. The developer contract with
- 1:14:50ATC expired September 30th of 2025, and
- 1:14:55the app is no longer reliable for IDs
- 1:14:59issued after October 2024."
- 1:15:02and uh Kristen Templeton, acting state
- 1:15:05supervisor, said the loss and uh
- 1:15:10you know of this software
- 1:15:14is you know a kind of a big deal and
- 1:15:16said that ATC is exploring replacement
- 1:15:18options with state partners but no
- 1:15:22timeline right.
- 1:15:24This is going to create a real world
- 1:15:26enforcement gap raising questions about
- 1:15:28how ATC is uh conducting underage sales
- 1:15:32checks and tobacco compliance
- 1:15:34inspections. Um you know you have you
- 1:15:38ever gone into any of these places and
- 1:15:39they want a copy of your license? I am
- 1:15:42so offended by this. I'm like 90. Okay.
- 1:15:45I I go into some place and I'm going to
- 1:15:47here come in hobbling in, you know, with
- 1:15:50my walker and uh these guys want to know
- 1:15:53if I'm over 18 and I got to provide an
- 1:15:55ID uh to buy certain things. Nonsense. I
- 1:15:59mean, all you got to do is take a look
- 1:16:01at at me and know that I am. I don't
- 1:16:03look under 40, you know, and there no
- 1:16:06way. And uh I and now you can't use you
- 1:16:10can't use the real ID for anything that
- 1:16:13it's supposed to because ATC can't get a
- 1:16:15new uh a new uh uh vendor for this.
- 1:16:20Right.
- 1:16:22H why am I bitching? Maybe because
- 1:16:25that's what I do. There was another one.
- 1:16:27Where is this? This I wanted to get to.
- 1:16:32Uh so a recent state. Uh let's see. No
- 1:16:36party did that one. Verified dispensary.
- 1:16:39Okay. Okay. Here it is. The joint
- 1:16:43resolution
- 1:16:45Missouri plan judicial selection reform.
- 1:16:49Now get this judicial reform. And I
- 1:16:53follow this on my own. Okay. So, um,
- 1:16:58HJR19,
- 1:17:01get this, re proposes removing. I'm for
- 1:17:06this. Absolutely. I am totally against
- 1:17:09this uh, nonpartisan Missouri plan BS
- 1:17:14that they've been pumping uh, you know,
- 1:17:16up your rear end for for years, saying
- 1:17:20that it's, "Oh, gee, it's nonpartisan.
- 1:17:22my ass. It is not non-partisan.
- 1:17:26And so now there's actually an effort to
- 1:17:29do something about it. HJR119
- 1:17:32proposes removing constitutional
- 1:17:34mandates for the Missouri plan,
- 1:17:36nonpartisan judicial selection is what
- 1:17:39the bar likes to call it, and returning
- 1:17:41two voters.
- 1:17:44Wow, what a concept. the authority to
- 1:17:47determine whether their circuit uses the
- 1:17:50Missouri plan, which is BS, or an
- 1:17:53alternative method established by law.
- 1:17:57Yeah.
- 1:17:59Instead of this ridiculous Missouri plan
- 1:18:01that they're trying to codify anyway or
- 1:18:03constitutionalize, but they want to get
- 1:18:05rid of it. Now, proponents argue that
- 1:18:08and including Samuel, that's me, propose
- 1:18:12uh uh argue that this will restore
- 1:18:15democratic accountability
- 1:18:17to judicial selection processes
- 1:18:22currently dominated by unelected
- 1:18:25commissions. If you're unfamiliar with
- 1:18:28how we pick appellet judges and how we
- 1:18:31pick uh many counties, Green County uses
- 1:18:35it, um St. Louis County uses it, I can't
- 1:18:39remember the there's a there and more
- 1:18:41and more counties are going this way to
- 1:18:43have not not citizens pick who gets
- 1:18:47selected as. So, I've I've explained
- 1:18:50this before, but it bears repeating,
- 1:18:52okay? because it's a BS system no matter
- 1:18:55how you slice it. And the way they sell
- 1:18:57it is they say, "Oh, gee, back in the
- 1:19:00back in the 30s, there was corruption in
- 1:19:03the form of uh uh uh you know, mafia
- 1:19:07sort of guys, uh union bosses, people
- 1:19:10running, you know, boss so and so ran
- 1:19:12St. Louis and boss uh so and so other so
- 1:19:15and so ran Kansas City." And uh the the
- 1:19:19court the Supreme Court is uh located in
- 1:19:22Jeff City and that's run by you know
- 1:19:25boss Jeff City you know five families
- 1:19:27same five families for generations
- 1:19:31to run Jeff City and get to pick who who
- 1:19:34gets to be in charge of whatever there
- 1:19:37and everybody knows it you know it's the
- 1:19:39the smallest state capital uh in the
- 1:19:42nation and it's it's uh run similarly.
- 1:19:46Okay. And uh so this is how judges get
- 1:19:50picked. You you put people into uh and
- 1:19:54the Missouri bar is deeply involved in
- 1:19:56this. Okay. Especially for judicial
- 1:19:58selection because get this, the majority
- 1:20:01of actors, right? Let's say there's a uh
- 1:20:05for the judicial plan for electing or or
- 1:20:08for appointing a Supreme Court judge.
- 1:20:11This is BS completely. is is uh it goes
- 1:20:16like this. Three
- 1:20:18three people members of the bar
- 1:20:22appointed by the board of governors for
- 1:20:26the bar. So So if you kiss the ass of
- 1:20:29the bar, you have a chance of being uh
- 1:20:32uh picked as a judge at the appellet or
- 1:20:35the Supreme Court level. But if you
- 1:20:37don't kiss the ass of the bar, you have
- 1:20:39zero chance of getting uh appointed to
- 1:20:42any of those jobs. And it's gone on for
- 1:20:44years, okay, since the 40s. You know,
- 1:20:46Missouri was the first to create one of
- 1:20:48these uh rather uh uh interesting plans
- 1:20:52that uh gives the authority to the
- 1:20:54Missouri Bar. And they say it doesn't,
- 1:20:56but but get how this works. Three
- 1:20:59lawyers appointed by the Missouri Bar
- 1:21:01get to pick
- 1:21:03candidates and they get to send out, you
- 1:21:06know, they get to have people apply. You
- 1:21:08know, I I remember me sending out um
- 1:21:11sunshine requests on this. I'm going to
- 1:21:13revive all this cuz I'm going to do it
- 1:21:15again cuz uh the the once I'm finished
- 1:21:18attacking or going after or uh doing
- 1:21:21some um research as it were with the uh
- 1:21:25um
- 1:21:27with the alcohol tobacco control. I'm
- 1:21:30going back to the Missouri bar. They
- 1:21:32didn't even bother to answer. The
- 1:21:33governor answered, the Supreme Court
- 1:21:35answered. Missouri Park, not so much.
- 1:21:38They they didn't answer. And I'm sure
- 1:21:40that the reason they claim they don't
- 1:21:42have to answer. They didn't they didn't
- 1:21:43even say why they weren't answering.
- 1:21:45They just didn't answer. And at the
- 1:21:47time, I was involved in something else,
- 1:21:48you know, and a couple of things
- 1:21:50beginning on the ATC process and doing
- 1:21:52some other some other issues. But I'm
- 1:21:54going to reopen those. They're they're
- 1:21:56they're definitely coming back and and
- 1:21:59and we're going to we're going to hear
- 1:22:00about those again. And um
- 1:22:06Oh, here we go. Hey, hey, pay attention.
- 1:22:09Mark Leavvin blows up at Joe Kent. Now,
- 1:22:12Mark Levvin's been pumping war. You
- 1:22:14know, he's he's just as bad.
- 1:22:17He's he's one of the cheerleaders of
- 1:22:19war. You want some cheerleaders for war?
- 1:22:21Levvin's one of them. Um you know, you
- 1:22:24just take and and I like Levvin
- 1:22:26generally. I like listening to him, but
- 1:22:27don't go claiming he is not a uh he is
- 1:22:30not a cheerleader for war. He uh you
- 1:22:33know, he's he's uh far more pro- Israel
- 1:22:37than he is anti-war. That's let's just
- 1:22:40call it like it is. Anyway, I intend to
- 1:22:43get further into the uh how the the
- 1:22:46Missouri bar things and the and the
- 1:22:48Supreme Court of Missouri and Civic
- 1:22:50Outlaws is going to take a view into
- 1:22:52some of that stuff and try to remain uh
- 1:22:55calm and reasonable about it. But I'm
- 1:22:57also right uh just like and you know if
- 1:23:01if somebody wants to come on and discuss
- 1:23:03it, I'd be happy to do that too. Just
- 1:23:05like I keep offering to ATC, I've I
- 1:23:09offered it to uh uh Representative uh uh
- 1:23:12Cook to see if he wanted to come and uh
- 1:23:15and and chat about some of this stuff. I
- 1:23:17send emails, say, "Anybody wants to come
- 1:23:19and talk, you want to talk about some of
- 1:23:21your uh reasons behind issues, I'm happy
- 1:23:23to learn why I'm wrong, come on in.
- 1:23:26It'll be fun." and uh we can talk about
- 1:23:29it and you can teach me why I'm wrong
- 1:23:31and uh we can we can hear
- 1:23:34you know if you say I'm wrong perhaps
- 1:23:37you can give your version of correct and
- 1:23:40tell me why any member of the Supreme
- 1:23:43Court any member of the Missouri bar any
- 1:23:46well board of governors or any of these
- 1:23:48idiot committees that they get appointed
- 1:23:51you know like uh long as you um suck up
- 1:23:54to the right folks you know you can get
- 1:23:56appointed to these these committees to
- 1:23:58pick judges. And how it works is three
- 1:24:01members of the bar
- 1:24:05picked by the board of governors, three
- 1:24:08citizen members picked by the governor
- 1:24:13get in a room and uh they figure out
- 1:24:16who's going to be the uh candidates that
- 1:24:20are submitted to the governor of which
- 1:24:24he must approve. one of the three. Like
- 1:24:28he can't provide his own. He's got to uh
- 1:24:32he's got to accept ones that are sent to
- 1:24:34him. He don't get to pick anybody. Come
- 1:24:37on. And that's nuts. Why would you get
- 1:24:40to pick anybody? And why would the
- 1:24:42voters get any say at all? These three
- 1:24:44citizens are appointed by the governor.
- 1:24:46Okay. What good does that do to the
- 1:24:48citizen? the only thing the citizen can
- 1:24:51do is vote against or or vote in a
- 1:24:54retention
- 1:24:56uh cycle during the next election. So,
- 1:24:59you get to stay around for your first
- 1:25:01term and perhaps later you get to say uh
- 1:25:04uh you know somebody will say put on the
- 1:25:08ballot a retention uh vote whether or
- 1:25:12not you're going to be retained. So they
- 1:25:15have to v vote to get rid of you, not
- 1:25:17vote to elect you in the first place. So
- 1:25:20you're appointed through some scam
- 1:25:22process. Uh
- 1:25:25very lopsided process. And by the way,
- 1:25:28so you have six members. Those are even.
- 1:25:30Guess where the next member comes from?
- 1:25:34The court itself. So if the uh uh
- 1:25:38appellet court is looking for somebody,
- 1:25:40the uh chief justice or the uh uh what
- 1:25:43do you presiding uh judge of that court
- 1:25:47is vote number seven. So you got four
- 1:25:49lawyers,
- 1:25:52three citizens, you know, could be
- 1:25:54anybody. Who do you think controls the
- 1:25:56room during the uh process?
- 1:26:00Just curious who who who controls the
- 1:26:03room? Is it one of the lawyers or
- 1:26:06perhaps the the judge? Or is it one of
- 1:26:10these three citizens appointed by the
- 1:26:12governor who has very little to do with
- 1:26:16uh uh selections by the public? Well,
- 1:26:20that has come under question even now in
- 1:26:24saying that in this house uh uh
- 1:26:28document, you know what they're trying
- 1:26:29to say, HJR, what was the number again?
- 1:26:32We're definitely going to keep an eye on
- 1:26:33this. I doubt it'll get anywhere uh
- 1:26:36because uh the bar is all powerful,
- 1:26:39right? I I say the most uh uh
- 1:26:44most powerful or organization in the
- 1:26:48state of Missouri and HJR19.
- 1:26:53Pay attention to that because it
- 1:26:55proposes removing the constitutional
- 1:26:58mandate
- 1:26:59and returning to voters the authority to
- 1:27:03determine whether the circuits use the
- 1:27:05Missouri plan or an alternative method.
- 1:27:07Now, I haven't read it yet to see
- 1:27:10whether or not it applies at the
- 1:27:12appellet levels either, you know, and I
- 1:27:14hope it does because the whole system is
- 1:27:16crap. And uh perhaps somebody is finally
- 1:27:20going to pay attention to uh to this uh
- 1:27:24ridiculous selection process that has
- 1:27:28Oh, yeah. It's the way you keep out
- 1:27:30politics. Oh, yeah. The bar is not
- 1:27:33politic. A prior appointed judge
- 1:27:36certainly isn't polit political. No, no,
- 1:27:39no. Of course not. How can you think
- 1:27:42that? They're judges. There no politics
- 1:27:44among judges.
- 1:27:46Certainly not in Missouri. Maybe at the
- 1:27:49maybe in other states, maybe at the
- 1:27:50federal level, but not in Missouri.
- 1:27:53We'll talk some more about that on
- 1:27:54Friday. So, I appreciate you listening
- 1:27:56international flavor. Today we got a
- 1:27:58little bit more local in nature because
- 1:28:01there are a couple of things that came
- 1:28:02up that I want to talk about and that
- 1:28:04I'm still keeping an eye on for us. And
- 1:28:08uh Friday during Civic Outlaws, new time
- 1:28:11for Civic Outlaws for the second week in
- 1:28:13a row, we're going to be 7 a.m. to um
- 1:28:178:30
- 1:28:19uh on Civic Outlaws. And uh you can

- 1:28:23to all the old shows at
- 1:28:24civicoutlaws.commpodcast.
- 1:28:28Uh our la we've only done six of them
- 1:28:31and the last six are out there talking
