- 0:04Speaker 1: show on demand on the iHeartRadio app.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Thirty foot Dead Whale, Washed Ashore, Newport Beach. The experts
- 0:16Speaker 2: here are hoping that this storm that is coming our
- 0:19Speaker 2: way might pull the carcass back to see but if
- 0:21Speaker 2: it doesn't happen, they got to find a way to
- 0:23Speaker 2: remove that. How they get you up on the surgery table.
- 0:26Speaker 1: Handle, that's very funny. And how about you when you
- 0:28Speaker 1: go swimming at the beach, people poke at you with
- 0:30Speaker 1: a stick. What's this, Amy k Kate?
- 0:37Speaker 2: What's so funny?
- 0:39Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 0:40Speaker 2: I'm fat?
- 0:41Speaker 3: Yeah, Candle, you're mean.
- 0:45Speaker 1: And now handle on the news, Ladies and gentlemen.
- 0:49Speaker 2: Here's Bill Handle.
- 0:53Speaker 1: Good morning everybody, Bill Handle and the morning crowd. Here
- 0:58Speaker 1: we start a Friday, February twentieth. It is a footy Friday.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Ask Candle anything Friday. Let's start with the not insanely fat,
- 1:08Speaker 1: but moderately fat. No, beyond moderately fat, I would say
- 1:11Speaker 1: plump only fat. Neils of Ada.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Good morning, tired of picking on the handsome smart guy
- 1:18Speaker 2: day Gee?
- 1:19Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah for sure? Cono, good morning, good morning, Hey
- 1:24Speaker 1: nice try boy, Hey thanks for dressing up this morning.
- 1:26Speaker 1: I appreciate that. Yeah, well, I'm glad to hear that
- 1:31Speaker 1: that's true.
- 1:33Speaker 3: Amy, good morning, Good morning Bill.
- 1:36Speaker 1: Okay, I sweatshirt is oh tigers or tigger Tiggers?
- 1:42Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:43Speaker 1: Double got it? Yeah, okay, fair enough. And will Cole Schreiber,
- 1:49Speaker 1: good morning, Good morning, Bill, and the lovely Anne A
- 1:53Speaker 1: Hello Anne, good morning, good morning. I was just talking
- 1:56Speaker 1: to Ann about she's going to SOFI was it tonight tomorrow?
- 2:00Speaker 1: Is that any And she was talking about this completely
- 2:05Speaker 1: unknown Hispanic Latino band. We would never know the name
- 2:09Speaker 1: of one hundred thousand people sold out for two days
- 2:12Speaker 1: of course, sure what, it's a pretty big band.
- 2:15Speaker 3: Yeah, who is it?
- 2:17Speaker 1: Los Bookies? Have already heard of Los Bookies? Kono nodded,
- 2:25Speaker 1: he's heard of those bookies. Okay, none of the rest
- 2:31Speaker 1: of us. Okay. Oh, A couple of things. I don't
- 2:33Speaker 1: know if you watched women's ice hockey. I happened to
- 2:36Speaker 1: be channel surfing during the day and seeing what's on
- 2:38Speaker 1: in terms of the Olympics, and I was watching, uh,
- 2:42Speaker 1: the USA women's ice hockey team win the gold against
- 2:47Speaker 1: Canada yesterday, and then they did the ceremony, the metal
- 2:54Speaker 1: ceremony where they all line up and man, I knowed
- 2:58Speaker 1: you know, you know how big those women hockey players are.
- 3:02Speaker 1: I mean, especially the goalies. I mean they are massive.
- 3:05Speaker 1: It almost looks like they're wearing padded clothing, padded uniforms.
- 3:10Speaker 1: But then you realize they really aren't padded. They're just
- 3:13Speaker 1: very big women who are really strong. Well there's pads,
- 3:20Speaker 1: Oh they are. I'm sorry I mos took those. I
- 3:23Speaker 1: guess I did. Yeah, big health day women. Yeah, we're
- 3:27Speaker 1: gonna go back to Bulgarian weightlifters again. I can't wait
- 3:31Speaker 1: for summer. Also, I want, for some reason, curling. They
- 3:35Speaker 1: spend more hours covering curling if you watch Peacock than
- 3:39Speaker 1: any other of the events. And actually there's a world
- 3:43Speaker 1: to curling. There really is. I mean the strategy, I
- 3:46Speaker 1: mean there's a lot to it, and then moving that
- 3:48Speaker 1: rock down the ice is there's a lot. But you know,
- 3:55Speaker 1: I mean, come on, guys, you know Curly Know.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Who's a talk show host whose wife was I think
- 4:03Speaker 2: a professional what do they call him? Curlers?
- 4:07Speaker 1: That's what you put in your hair, isn't it.
- 4:09Speaker 2: I don't know? Curlinger? Okay, Bill Carroll two rs two
- 4:17Speaker 2: l's his wife was a was a Cruler Curuler.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Yea, so that those are the great donuts that are
- 4:26Speaker 1: actually long and twisty. Yeah, I didn't know that. I
- 4:30Speaker 1: did not know that.
- 4:31Speaker 2: You learned something.
- 4:32Speaker 1: I learned something every day, all right. Anybody else watching
- 4:35Speaker 1: the Olympics, Yeah, okay, I really liked what wasn a
- 4:40Speaker 1: Malano or Melankov? What was his name? Mallanin how he
- 4:45Speaker 1: completely self destructed it was that was actually heartbreaking for
- 4:50Speaker 1: him because everybody, yeah, I mean, he was absolutely going
- 4:56Speaker 1: to win this thing about he was favored by a
- 5:00Speaker 1: long shot.
- 5:01Speaker 3: They were saying that he might win by like thirty
- 5:03Speaker 3: or forty points because his routine was so hard.
- 5:08Speaker 1: Just collapse, just couldn't take just couldn't take the pressure.
- 5:12Speaker 3: But that's okay. The women won gold, Alissa Lou won.
- 5:16Speaker 1: Yeah, but women all skaters aren't realized skaters. It's the
- 5:19Speaker 1: men who are actually the realized skaters. You just say,
- 5:23Speaker 1: you know, the the Modern Olympics eighteen ninety six. Kuberstan,
- 5:29Speaker 1: this French guy who created the modern Olympics. When the
- 5:32Speaker 1: Modern Olympics were created, it was only for men. Women
- 5:38Speaker 1: were not allowed to participate at all, and no, it
- 5:44Speaker 1: had to be all amateur and the way amateurs did
- 5:47Speaker 1: their sports in those days. It was all rich white guys,
- 5:50Speaker 1: all right, that's all. It was so an interesting documentary thing.
- 5:54Speaker 1: They got their own now got their own.
- 5:57Speaker 2: What you know. You don't see those rich ones, white
- 6:00Speaker 2: guys anywhere anymore, not anymore.
- 6:03Speaker 1: Which white guys are done. Yeah, society hasn't let him
- 6:06Speaker 1: in anymore. All right, guys, are you ready to do it?
- 6:08Speaker 1: We've got a fair amount of news to go over,
- 6:12Speaker 1: and let's start with handling the news with Amy Neil
- 6:15Speaker 1: and me lead story the five months. All right, this
- 6:20Speaker 1: weekend the attack on Iran. Either it will happen or
- 6:25Speaker 1: it won't happen. The President is bouncing that idea around
- 6:30Speaker 1: and it went from maybe this weekend to okay, maybe
- 6:33Speaker 1: two weeks maybe yeah, over the next ten to fifteen days,
- 6:38Speaker 1: that's pretty much maximum before the President makes up his mind.
- 6:42Speaker 1: In the meantime, the deployment of the ships to the
- 6:46Speaker 1: region from the Caribbean Sea where these task force were,
- 6:51Speaker 1: everybody is moving towards the Persian Gulf and Mediterranean. And
- 6:56Speaker 1: if Iran doesn't cave on this, gives up its nuclear facilities,
- 7:02Speaker 1: nuclear and Richmond program, it may find itself under attack
- 7:07Speaker 1: under a US attack, and they say, oh, we will fight.
- 7:10Speaker 1: We will go to the last man, the United States.
- 7:13Speaker 1: So any country will be sorry to attack US, you know,
- 7:15Speaker 1: the normal babble that you get. Well, it's gonna hurt,
- 7:20Speaker 1: it's gonna hurt Iron big time. And the President is
- 7:23Speaker 1: willing to do it, and he'll do it, I have
- 7:24Speaker 1: no doubt in my mind. So we'll be watching that.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Over the next several weeks.
- 7:31Speaker 3: We're getting more information about the people killed in that
- 7:35Speaker 3: avalanche near Lake Tahoe. The families of six women killed
- 7:41Speaker 3: in what is now the deadliest avalanche in the US
- 7:44Speaker 3: in over forty years, says the women were married mothers
- 7:48Speaker 3: and they were all friends connected through the love of
- 7:50Speaker 3: the outdoors. They were among the eight killed when the
- 7:53Speaker 3: avalanche hit in the back country area near Donner Pass
- 7:59Speaker 3: on February seventeenth. One person has still not been found.
- 8:03Speaker 1: Yeah, well that's sort of a given unfortunately, that she's
- 8:05Speaker 1: not going to survive. I can't imagine. But the question
- 8:08Speaker 1: that we had yesterday, that I had posited, is what
- 8:13Speaker 1: were they doing on the mountain anyway under these conditions?
- 8:17Speaker 1: And that is exactly what this USA story is saying
- 8:22Speaker 1: that Blackbird Mountain guides facing tough questions about why the
- 8:28Speaker 1: back country adventure moved forward despite the warnings of a
- 8:33Speaker 1: storm that was expected to bring up eight feet of
- 8:36Speaker 1: freshne and create quote very dangerous avalanche conditions. At what
- 8:40Speaker 1: point do you say, Okay, we're not going. That's the
- 8:44Speaker 1: question it's going to be asked.
- 8:47Speaker 2: Los Angeles County going after a very popular gaming platform
- 8:53Speaker 2: called Roadblocks. I'm pausing for all the parents to go.
- 8:58Speaker 2: They alleged that the company he failed to protect children
- 9:01Speaker 2: continues to fail to protect children with inappropriate content, child predators.
- 9:08Speaker 2: The company obviously denies this, but this really comes down
- 9:12Speaker 2: to that. They say unfair and deceptive business practices, that
- 9:18Speaker 2: children are being repeatedly exposed to sexually explicit content, content grooming,
- 9:24Speaker 2: that type of thing, and that they don't really have great,
- 9:30Speaker 2: great child protection. And I would agree with that. I'm
- 9:33Speaker 2: pretty familiar with the platform.
- 9:36Speaker 1: Well, you think it hurts them. You know, they took
- 9:38Speaker 1: a page out of wordle and they have Predator of
- 9:40Speaker 1: the Day on the website.
- 9:42Speaker 2: That's a problem, that's yeah, I got a predator in
- 9:46Speaker 2: three tries. Pretty rough, Yeah, it is.
- 9:49Speaker 3: And Amazonian feet Amazon has surpassed Walmart as the world's
- 9:55Speaker 3: largest company. Walmart's been the world's largest company for thirteen years,
- 10:00Speaker 3: but this year are actually in twenty twenty five, Amazon
- 10:04Speaker 3: posted seven hundred seventeen billion dollars in sales. Walmart had
- 10:10Speaker 3: a measly seven hundred and thirteen billion in sales.
- 10:14Speaker 2: Loser.
- 10:16Speaker 1: Yeah, it's pretty mu.
- 10:17Speaker 2: Actually, that's pretty good.
- 10:18Speaker 1: Yeah. And then the other thing about Amazon, it's not.
- 10:21Speaker 1: Everyone thinks Amazon the moving piece, the monstrous moving piece
- 10:26Speaker 1: of its success is the retail business, which of course
- 10:29Speaker 1: it is. But AWS, their cloud computing and internet supporting
- 10:36Speaker 1: arm of Amazon is that's what gives it most of
- 10:40Speaker 1: the profit.
- 10:43Speaker 2: You know, they're going after TMU and Ali Express. Now
- 10:47Speaker 2: too with Hall. Have you used Amazon Hall yet?
- 10:51Speaker 1: I don't use anything. I have other people shop for me.
- 10:55Speaker 3: What Hall.
- 10:57Speaker 2: I have a staff named Lindsay what so it actually
- 11:01Speaker 2: it's like inexpensive, like electronics and gadgets and stuff and
- 11:07Speaker 2: parts and things like that. But they're going after that
- 11:11Speaker 2: very inexpensive market that I use quite a bit for electronics,
- 11:15Speaker 2: quite honestly, but it and it comes pretty quickly and
- 11:19Speaker 2: I don't know, kind of impressive, all right. Trump's speaking
- 11:23Speaker 2: of money large amounts of money. Trump's Board of Peace.
- 11:26Speaker 2: You've got several countries which have signed up for this organization,
- 11:32Speaker 2: and they have contributed more than seven billion with a
- 11:35Speaker 2: BEE towards Gaza and that relief package we've heard so
- 11:38Speaker 2: much about. And you know how that's going to roll out,
- 11:43Speaker 2: what it's going to look like? Who knows?
- 11:46Speaker 1: He said it was changed quite a bit. It originally
- 11:48Speaker 1: started just for the reconstruction of Gaza. It has since
- 11:52Speaker 1: expanded to a no would would where how would I
- 11:58Speaker 1: describe it? Sort of an alternative to the UN to
- 12:02Speaker 1: the point where the president said we are going to
- 12:05Speaker 1: control or we're going to tell the UN what to do.
- 12:08Speaker 1: And then my question is the seven billion dollars, is
- 12:11Speaker 1: that money that was actually contributed to it go into
- 12:14Speaker 1: an account or was that money actually promised?
- 12:18Speaker 2: Like IOUs?
- 12:19Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, you commit money. And I don't know the
- 12:22Speaker 1: answer to that.
- 12:23Speaker 2: But isn't one of the conditions for Hamas to disarm? Yes,
- 12:27Speaker 2: which does not? You know, we have no signs of that,
- 12:30Speaker 2: do we?
- 12:30Speaker 1: Yeah, there has been no money. Yeah they are, but
- 12:33Speaker 1: this is where this is the line that has to
- 12:36Speaker 1: be crossed by Hamas and or it will not cross.
- 12:39Speaker 1: And the Trump initiative. The Trump Board of Trump's pieces
- 12:45Speaker 1: of peace are saying that you got you have to
- 12:51Speaker 1: disarm otherwise you're not getting the money or any of
- 12:54Speaker 1: the benefits. So we'll see and look at the countries.
- 12:57Speaker 1: The Western europe countries are not jumping in on this
- 13:01Speaker 1: at all. You've got the Arab countries are, and the
- 13:05Speaker 1: countries are most susceptible to the vagaries of Trump with
- 13:10Speaker 1: his economic plan or lack of plan. Now today is
- 13:13Speaker 1: one thing, the next day it's another thing, and so
- 13:17Speaker 1: we'll see what happens. But it's the Trump Plan for
- 13:20Speaker 1: Peace that President Trump has named after himself and he
- 13:25Speaker 1: is the chair. Actually it's a board of peace. But
- 13:29Speaker 1: as Amy said yesterday, it's coming out of the Trump
- 13:32Speaker 1: let's name a building or an organization for Trump organization
- 13:37Speaker 1: period incorporated.
- 13:39Speaker 3: Does it make sense though, that the Middle Eastern countries
- 13:42Speaker 3: would be on board with the rebuilding of Gaza and
- 13:46Speaker 3: maybe Europe wouldn't be so interested in it.
- 13:49Speaker 1: Yes, yes, except and here is the exception. The Middle
- 13:54Speaker 1: Eastern countries for the most part been giving just lip
- 13:58Speaker 1: service to the Palestinians, the people in Gaza. That's it.
- 14:04Speaker 1: They don't send much money it is lip service Western Europe.
- 14:09Speaker 1: At least they're fairly honest about it. And I think
- 14:12Speaker 1: it is not the midiast country tier point because it
- 14:14Speaker 1: seems at first glance that would be the case. It's
- 14:17Speaker 1: more cow tewing to the president than it is to
- 14:19Speaker 1: help Hamas. I am convinced of that.
- 14:22Speaker 3: Well, but who cares if they get Gaza rebuilt?
- 14:24Speaker 1: Now I agree, I agree seven billion dollars to get
- 14:26Speaker 1: Gaza rebuilt. But have you seen the Trump version of
- 14:31Speaker 1: a rebuild Gaza. We have all those the Trump hotels
- 14:39Speaker 1: lined up on the beach of Gaza.
- 14:43Speaker 3: That's not the current one.
- 14:45Speaker 1: I don't think they ever walked that back. Did they know?
- 14:47Speaker 1: The current one is simply rebuilding And we don't even know.
- 14:50Speaker 3: The plan said the Palestinians needed to leave and surrender
- 14:53Speaker 3: the territory so they could make it.
- 14:54Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, so that's been walked. So that's been walked
- 14:56Speaker 1: back a bit. Yeah, but in terms of the rebuilding,
- 15:00Speaker 1: we don't know yet what's going to be rebuilt. The
- 15:02Speaker 1: plan is not out there. Here's what we're gonna do,
- 15:04Speaker 1: here's what we're going to attack first. This is the infrastructure.
- 15:07Speaker 1: Is it electricity? Is it water. Is it sanitation? We
- 15:11Speaker 1: don't know.
- 15:13Speaker 2: It's still very much up in the club in Casino.
- 15:15Speaker 3: Yeah, mister Clean is done cleaning up messes. On Thursday,
- 15:27Speaker 3: a news conference was held and mister Clean announced that
- 15:30Speaker 3: he was hanging up his whites and taking so much
- 15:32Speaker 3: needed time off. Mister Clean's been around since nineteen fifty eight,
- 15:37Speaker 3: but Proctor and Gamble said, don't worry. His products will
- 15:42Speaker 3: continue to be available to support all of your cleaning needs.
- 15:45Speaker 3: And apparently all of this is tied to some announcement
- 15:47Speaker 3: coming from and Gamble that's planned for March fourth.
- 15:51Speaker 1: Yeah, mister Crean, mister Crean, mister Clean. That was kind
- 15:54Speaker 1: of a dumb song anyway.
- 15:56Speaker 2: I thought he and I used to get our hair
- 15:58Speaker 2: done the same place exactly.
- 16:00Speaker 1: That's a strut guy. He got very muscular too over
- 16:02Speaker 1: the years. If you noticed, he became very buff.
- 16:05Speaker 3: He didn't start that way.
- 16:06Speaker 1: Nope. Look at an early version of mister Clean.
- 16:12Speaker 2: Okay, Eric Dane. I'm not familiar with his work, at
- 16:16Speaker 2: least not off the top of my head.
- 16:18Speaker 3: Anatomy Doctor McSteamy.
- 16:19Speaker 2: There you go. Sorry, not watching Grey's Anatomy and Euphoria.
- 16:24Speaker 2: I'd be curious, but haven't seen it. He was only
- 16:27Speaker 2: fifty fifty three, and I guess he was diagnosed with
- 16:30Speaker 2: ALS about a year ago. And he died of complications
- 16:35Speaker 2: related to ALS just yesterday. And you know, his family
- 16:40Speaker 2: said that spent his final days surrounded by friends like
- 16:45Speaker 2: so in his devote.
- 16:46Speaker 1: We don't know when he actually got the disease. He
- 16:50Speaker 1: announced it publicly in April of twenty twenty five. And
- 16:56Speaker 1: if that's the case, if he only got it a
- 16:57Speaker 1: year or two years before. When he got this disease,
- 17:05Speaker 1: this went very very quickly for him. Is a nasty
- 17:10Speaker 1: it is, but it can last for years.
- 17:13Speaker 2: I didn't know how rare it was. They said about
- 17:15Speaker 2: five thousand Americans are diagnosed each year.
- 17:18Speaker 1: But it is a horrific It is a horrific disease
- 17:22Speaker 1: because your mind does not lose its acumen at all.
- 17:27Speaker 1: There's no cognitive disability. Your body ceases to work. You
- 17:31Speaker 1: are truly trapped in your body. You can't move, and
- 17:36Speaker 1: it gets to the point where, at the last stages
- 17:39Speaker 1: of ALS, there are these wheelchairs that are made that
- 17:43Speaker 1: you can function with moving your eyelashes because nothing else functions.
- 17:50Speaker 1: It's pretty depressing stuff to say. The least lou Garrett's disease.
- 17:55Speaker 1: You know what, I call it, lou Garrett disease. This
- 17:57Speaker 1: is a shocker because Louke Garrett had it.
- 18:00Speaker 2: There, you are, what are the odds that Louke Gregg
- 18:02Speaker 2: would get Luke Gregg's disease?
- 18:06Speaker 1: You know about one hundred percent?
- 18:07Speaker 2: I would Yes, just seems astronomical mathwall it does.
- 18:14Speaker 3: Zuckerberg's team gets a good scolding in court. Members of
- 18:19Speaker 3: Mark Zuckerberg's team apparently walked into the courtroom in Los
- 18:24Speaker 3: Angeles for the Landmark trial over the impact of social
- 18:27Speaker 3: media on kids wearing ray Ban Meta AI glasses, and
- 18:33Speaker 3: the judge wasn't having it, saying, if you guys have
- 18:36Speaker 3: recorded anything, you better dispose of it or I'm going
- 18:38Speaker 3: to hold you in contempt. Of course, use of recording
- 18:41Speaker 3: devices and cameras is generally banned in Los Angeles County
- 18:44Speaker 3: Superior Court.
- 18:47Speaker 1: And is there any way to tell yes, are those
- 18:50Speaker 1: glasses particularly heavier the frames?
- 18:53Speaker 2: Are?
- 18:53Speaker 1: Are they just really thick? Because I don't have them.
- 18:57Speaker 2: Rich I'll show you right now. This is what they
- 18:59Speaker 2: look like.
- 19:00Speaker 1: Oh there you go. Uh No, they just look like
- 19:05Speaker 1: they look like regular glasses. It is just a thick
- 19:08Speaker 1: kind of glasses.
- 19:09Speaker 2: Yeah, like horn rimmed kind of. But if you look
- 19:10Speaker 2: round here, this is where the glass, this is where
- 19:12Speaker 2: they camera.
- 19:13Speaker 1: Yeah, well I can't see it, you know, on the
- 19:15Speaker 1: on the screen, but tiny lenses.
- 19:19Speaker 2: Alrighty. But isn't Mark Zuckerberg a robot? Can't he doesn't
- 19:23Speaker 2: His eyes just record everything?
- 19:25Speaker 1: I think?
- 19:26Speaker 3: So.
- 19:26Speaker 1: Yeah, nice haircut too, by the way, what's that he
- 19:30Speaker 1: had a great haircut? Oh he looks like he just
- 19:33Speaker 1: put his finger into a electrical saket just before going
- 19:37Speaker 1: into the court. Oh yeah.
- 19:39Speaker 2: Apartment of Homeland Security. Whoops. They had a website if
- 19:44Speaker 2: you remember the worst of the worst that handle has
- 19:47Speaker 2: talked about before, They had a website that currently listed
- 19:49Speaker 2: I don't know, twenty five thousand or so people along
- 19:52Speaker 2: with crimes and you know, things that they were convicted for. Well,
- 19:56Speaker 2: it turns out many who were initially linked only two
- 20:01Speaker 2: relatively minor offenses on there, and so they have to
- 20:05Speaker 2: go back. Chris Secretary Christy Nome yeah, I know, uh,
- 20:13Speaker 2: and the White House have all, you know, heavily promo
- 20:17Speaker 2: promoted this, and it turns out that there was someone
- 20:20Speaker 2: called it a glitch. I'm not sure how that is right, glitch.
- 20:24Speaker 1: Sure have you noticed that it's almost identical to the
- 20:28Speaker 1: website of the National Association of Sausage Purveyors and they
- 20:32Speaker 1: have the worst of the worst.
- 20:34Speaker 2: Oh my god, it's food.
- 20:38Speaker 1: It's foody fight. Hey.
- 20:40Speaker 2: By the way, speaking of bad situations, we just got
- 20:45Speaker 2: a voicemail talk back from who is this from Jeff
- 20:52Speaker 2: who says that he's dealt with having to remove dead
- 20:55Speaker 2: whales because the one in Newport Beach. You know what
- 20:57Speaker 2: they do. They put this tail wrap on the way,
- 21:01Speaker 2: then the harbor patrol or whatever they tow it out
- 21:03Speaker 2: about fifteen miles and just let it go.
- 21:07Speaker 3: Well that makes sense because then you know, nature does
- 21:10Speaker 3: its thing.
- 21:11Speaker 1: Right, then the scavengers come in scavenger and it bones,
- 21:15Speaker 1: and the carcass becomes very carcassy.
- 21:17Speaker 2: Yes, why I don't fall asleep on a Newport beach.
- 21:20Speaker 1: Yeah, right, once again, let's do it. We'll go with it.
- 21:25Speaker 1: Grab you by, lay, throw you out. Is that what
- 21:27Speaker 1: they're gonna do?
- 21:28Speaker 3: Yeah, don't mess with vets. There was a lot of
- 21:36Speaker 3: outrage when the Department of Veterans' Affairs announced how it
- 21:41Speaker 3: was going to change enforcement of determining disability payments The
- 21:47Speaker 3: rule said a veteran's disability level would be based on
- 21:50Speaker 3: how well they function while on medication for an injury
- 21:53Speaker 3: or illness, not just the impairment. So, for example, if
- 21:59Speaker 3: a veteran has a service related knee injury, but then
- 22:02Speaker 3: the meds helped them function better, that would be taken
- 22:06Speaker 3: into account when determining how much they get in benefits.
- 22:08Speaker 3: And the vests are saying, hey, you know what, that's
- 22:10Speaker 3: going to reduce the amount of benefits that I get.
- 22:12Speaker 1: Yeah, have you noticed this is another one of the
- 22:15Speaker 1: Trump administration's initial actions which no one thinks of, and
- 22:20Speaker 1: then turn around, oops, so and they came right back
- 22:23Speaker 1: the next day and change their mind. Some of the
- 22:28Speaker 1: major federal workers that were fired the next day got
- 22:31Speaker 1: email saying, oops, no, you were hired. You've now been rehired.
- 22:36Speaker 1: You weren't fired. And this is another one. Somebody made
- 22:39Speaker 1: that decision and they had to go, Okay, we were wrong.
- 22:43Speaker 1: It's happening a lot when the administration that is shooting
- 22:46Speaker 1: from the hip in a big, big way. A lot
- 22:48Speaker 1: of what's going on is not very well thought out
- 22:51Speaker 1: at all.
- 22:52Speaker 2: Ready. Fire, I am all right, la it oh, this
- 22:58Speaker 2: is in the Inland Empire. All hail kono uh. They're
- 23:02Speaker 2: laying off two hundred and forty eight workers. They've got
- 23:04Speaker 2: a place there in Rancho Cucamonga. It's the warehouse, but
- 23:07Speaker 2: it also is a manufacturing facility I believe, owned by
- 23:12Speaker 2: Pepsi Coo Foods. They're going to close all operations in
- 23:16Speaker 2: this distribution hub. They're on Archibald Avenue and they're going
- 23:20Speaker 2: to close it in June, halting production everything. And they
- 23:24Speaker 2: cite declining sales and rising costs.
- 23:31Speaker 1: All right, so it's not just laze potato chip, it's
- 23:35Speaker 1: lays off potato chips.
- 23:37Speaker 2: But bump but.
- 23:40Speaker 1: Very hot.
- 23:40Speaker 2: Today you are smoking, sir, yep. I thought you were
- 23:44Speaker 2: going to say something about not to be confused with
- 23:47Speaker 2: free to lay, which is a Mexican whorehouse.
- 23:52Speaker 1: Also very strong, I guess, but very quickly. I just
- 24:00Speaker 1: do want more before we take our much much needed break.
- 24:04Speaker 3: A game called Senior Assassin. What could possibly go wrong? Well,
- 24:08Speaker 3: apparently seniors in Orange County are running around with water
- 24:15Speaker 3: guns and gel blasters and.
- 24:17Speaker 2: Playing the school right, not old people.
- 24:19Speaker 3: Yes, high school seniors, thank you for that clarification. And
- 24:23Speaker 3: they're running around. It's called senior assassin and Irvine Police says,
- 24:27Speaker 3: you know, teenage students running in through neighborhoods with realistic
- 24:30Speaker 3: looking water guns could trigger an emergency response, so stop it.
- 24:35Speaker 1: Yeah, and they don't say could get you shot, could
- 24:39Speaker 1: get you killed if it looks like a gun, realistic gun.
- 24:43Speaker 1: Because right now, wouldn't you think that the police authorities
- 24:47Speaker 1: are a little bit well, I would say delicate, right
- 24:55Speaker 1: is the way they're handling it. Yeah, gun shy? Does
- 25:00Speaker 1: that work? I don't know.
- 25:03Speaker 2: So there's an organization called seventeen seventy six Project Foundation,
- 25:08Speaker 2: and they're a conservative group out of Montana. Well, the
- 25:13Speaker 2: Trump administration is joining this lawsuit. The lawsuit with them
- 25:17Speaker 2: alleging that the Los Angeles Unified School District discriminates against
- 25:21Speaker 2: white students under its decades old desegregation policy. And they're
- 25:27Speaker 2: saying that these race based school classifications labeled schools as
- 25:34Speaker 2: PHBAO predominantly Hispanic, Black, Asian, and other non Anglo and yeah, they're.
- 25:43Speaker 1: Saying these schools get more money, they have better student
- 25:46Speaker 1: teacher ratios. They just say, get more assets and more support.
- 25:52Speaker 1: And the lawsuit says you can't do that. And the
- 25:54Speaker 1: Trump administration no Surprise is joining that lawsuit.
- 25:58Speaker 3: Equal time apply. Apparently, the FCC has an enforcement action
- 26:04Speaker 3: underway against ABC in line with its equal time rules
- 26:10Speaker 3: after the view did an interview with Democratic Texas state
- 26:14Speaker 3: Representative James Tallerico. This is according to FCC Chair Brendan Carr.
- 26:20Speaker 3: Tall Ico, again, a candidate for Texas's for the US
- 26:26Speaker 3: Senate from Texas, was on the show February second. In January,
- 26:30Speaker 3: the FCC issued guidance saying that daytime and late night
- 26:35Speaker 3: TV talk shows do not have a blanket exemption from
- 26:38Speaker 3: laws requiring stations to offer equal opportunity to political candidates.
- 26:44Speaker 1: We talked about this yesterday to enforce the equal opportunity rule,
- 26:50Speaker 1: the equal broadcast rule. For example, in the case of
- 26:53Speaker 1: anybody running for office, since anyone can run for office,
- 26:56Speaker 1: does that mean if fifteen people run, fifteen people get
- 26:59Speaker 1: equal time. So we interview a candidate, does that mean
- 27:03Speaker 1: we have to now take the other fourteen candidates, some
- 27:06Speaker 1: of which you're completely insane, and interview them give him
- 27:09Speaker 1: the same time.
- 27:10Speaker 2: I don't think so, because we actually have been nailed
- 27:15Speaker 2: on it at KFI before, and there is some cutoff
- 27:20Speaker 2: where it's uh, it's not every single one. It is
- 27:24Speaker 2: like the top runners or something like.
- 27:27Speaker 1: That, ills because it has to be a bill, but
- 27:31Speaker 1: there was a registered primary race or La came after
- 27:37Speaker 1: us one time thinking that we were being It's really
- 27:40Speaker 1: weird on talk radio because you.
- 27:41Speaker 2: Can interview an incumbent under circumcircums, certain circumstances and not
- 27:49Speaker 2: have to oh, because you're.
- 27:51Speaker 1: The incumbent, you're not interviewing him for a political issue.
- 27:55Speaker 2: If he's running he or she is running again, then
- 27:58Speaker 2: it does change it. We have been nailed at KF,
- 28:00Speaker 2: not nailed, but we have had them say, hey, you
- 28:03Speaker 2: got to give us time, and we had to.
- 28:05Speaker 1: But it was anybody watched the view? Do they have
- 28:08Speaker 1: any kind of an audience? So I so the rule
- 28:14Speaker 1: I guess this is for the view is so we
- 28:17Speaker 1: interviewed Talla Errico interview which nobody watches, and now we
- 28:21Speaker 1: have to interview other people that no one will watch.
- 28:23Speaker 2: Nobody will well, and this is.
- 28:25Speaker 3: The same guy that was supposed to be interviewed by
- 28:29Speaker 3: what's his face shows getting pulled on the Late.
- 28:31Speaker 1: Night Colbert Colbert, Colbert, Yeah, the same guy.
- 28:34Speaker 2: They're doing it.
- 28:35Speaker 1: Yeah right, yeah, let's do one more, all.
- 28:38Speaker 2: Right, well, this is the last one McDonald's. You know,
- 28:41Speaker 2: with the GLP one users, protein has exploded with fast
- 28:46Speaker 2: food more and more protein, and McDonald's is jumping on
- 28:49Speaker 2: that protein bandwagon these more GLP one friendly food items
- 28:55Speaker 2: on their menu, and I guess their last earnings they
- 29:00Speaker 2: were talking about upping these and the shift to protein.
- 29:05Speaker 2: So you can see this all over the place.
- 29:07Speaker 3: We just take away the bun, right.
- 29:08Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm a little confused with all of this. First
- 29:11Speaker 1: of all, if McDonald's rather fast food establishments, or any
- 29:15Speaker 1: purveyor of food is doing business differently in view of
- 29:21Speaker 1: the GLP one drugs that effectively take away all appetite
- 29:25Speaker 1: to someone come in and pay money and get nothing
- 29:28Speaker 1: because they're not hungry. Do I have that right?
- 29:32Speaker 2: You just put it in an empty box that.
- 29:34Speaker 1: Is a high profit margin that makes it the wonder
- 29:38Speaker 1: earnings are scheduled to go up.
- 29:40Speaker 2: I get it now, would Lent the fish sandwiches are here.
- 29:44Speaker 2: We're going to talk about that on Foody Friday. Where
- 29:46Speaker 2: to get the best fish sandwich is? We're popping up
- 29:48Speaker 2: all over the f.
- 29:49Speaker 1: Yeah, and I have a fun, fun fact about Lent
- 29:52Speaker 1: that I want to share with you on lent, right,
- 29:56Speaker 1: I know that lint. No, not your belly button lint,
- 29:58Speaker 1: but lent. The religious ceremony or the religious aspects of Glen. Yes,
- 30:04Speaker 1: I have a fun little bit of history to share
- 30:06Speaker 1: with you when we do that. Coming up on Footy Friday.
- 30:09Speaker 1: This is KFI AM sixty. You've been listening to the
