- KW: Can't hear you actually. I can't hear you. There we go, I got you. Yeah. JonBE aka DJ Chill: There we go. You got me now? That's the way it works, man. Live live series is crazy. Welcome is the Hyper Real Podcast. We're going live. This is how we do it every Thursday, eight PM. Got my co host with me, Kyle from Warner Brothers podcast. What up, Cal? KW: Yes indeed. What's up, my man? How we doing? JonBE aka DJ Chill: Blessed, man. Real good. So ⁓ Kyle, you you dropped a podcast earlier today on Warner Brothers podcast. Give them a little depth on what's going on with that, because I think that's absolutely crazy. We were talking about a pre-show about some things we want to touch on later down the line with that, but but but give them some game about that. KW: Listen, it's it's a heavily debatable podcast. ⁓ and by that I mean the content on the podcast is heavily debatable. ⁓ my brother Keenan, co-host of the Warner Brothers podcast, he dropped his annual top thirty-two NBA players. ⁓ so go check that out on the Warner Brothers podcast feed. YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, Apple Podcasts. ⁓ JonBE aka DJ Chill: Shout out Keny. KW: It's it's it's a gr it's it's set up tier style, but it's also in list form. ⁓ you know, thirty-two to one. It's a quick listen. It's a good listen. Think we got it in in about eighty minutes. It's myself, Keenan, and our boy Camden Dennis. Shouts to Camden. ⁓ he's he's a guest on our podcast from time to time. And ⁓ you know, there was a lot we agreed on or we came to an agreement and we kinda, you know. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Shout out to Camden. KW: would debate here and there on certain players' rankings. And then I think once we got closer to the top, there was more debate, especially from my part. And I know John feels the same. John's got some points of emphasis he wants to debate. And ⁓ possibly in the coming weeks have Keenan come on and ⁓ you know, talk about his list some more. I know actually Keenan did his quarterback list. He debuted it early on here. I think on his first appearance actually in November. He debuted it a week earlier than he would on our podcast on here. And it actually influenced him to change some of his rankings. So maybe, who knows, maybe we'll have a thought exercise where we change some of Keenan's rankings in the NBA. But go check it out. It's up on Spotify. It's up on Apple Podcasts. It's up on YouTube. ⁓ if y'all love the NBA, y'all will love that podcast. I promise you that. Some good NBA talk. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Yes, sir. Absolutely. Absolutely. I I love the Warner Brothers Podcast. That's actually how we wound up chopping it up and got into talking about things. And and I was a fan from day one. So shout out Warner Brothers Podcast. Shout out my main man Keenan. Shout out 623 AM, my main man Ray Wright. He'll be pulling up soon. He's it's it's it's like a countdown to the you know I mean, the the the biggest thing is since sliced bread. He's on his way back. He is going to make an impact on this show like he always does. So shout out my main man, six twenty-three AM, Ray Wright, all across the platforms. KW: As keen in. Big chance. Ha ha. Back. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Alright, you ready to do some pod? Are you ready to do some pod? Alright, let's get to it. Mm-mm-mm. KW: Let's do it, bro. Can't wait. Let's do it. JonBE aka DJ Chill: So perfection across sports is what everybody's trying to achieve. Right now, we're getting into that that that point where it's it's kind of like NFL time. But before we get into the the the great debate of some NFL conversation, I want to get to some of this basketball talk. It's a lot still going on. There's a lot that happened in the NBA. And I'm just interested in the chat and I want to talk about with you, Kyle, some of the liter things that are going on. Something that popped off to me is this whole Kawhi Leonard Toronto. KW: Mm. Yeah. Very interesting. Very interesting. JonBE aka DJ Chill: To the Clippers trade. That has been put on hold, pending an investigation. The Clipper, the Clippers were paying this man as a no-show employee. So he was getting money on the side to this company that's associated with the Clippers. Talk about the ultimate come up. My man was getting paid for not playing and paid for not showing up to work every day. Man, his finesse game is the truth. I want to be like Kawhi. I don't want to be like Mike. I want to be like Kawhi because the man is cold. So that's that's one of the things I wanna touch on. Do you think this will interfere with ⁓ Kawhi going to the Toronto Raptors? Do you think this will unravel because of this investigation? KW: Content-wise, I hope it does. Part of me definitely hopes it does. ⁓ I mean, that's the weird part about it. Like they said it's put on hold until they finish up the investigation. ⁓ The investigation technically started in October, right before the season started. So it's like, how much time do you need ⁓ from October to friggin' October, really? Because the season starts in October. So, you know. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Okay. KW: It's gonna be close to a year, if not a full year, by the time they actually figure this out. ⁓ and the how the story got broke was Pablo Torre doing the investigative work by himself. He a lot of the evidence is out there in public. So I don't I don't really understand how they didn't come up with a suspension or a punishment for the Clippers and Kawhi, ⁓ you know, six months ago. Truly, like there's no reason why this couldn't have been done in January. So the fact that they're saying this is now gonna delay the trade, okay. Why are you saying that a week after the trade? Why didn't you say that a week ago? Why didn't you make that private knowledge between the Raptors and the Clippers? The league has to approve a trade before it goes out anyway. So I'm really questioning why this is even a thing anyway, because the league could have shut this down and you know, we could have been without this for for this week anyway, and even before this. So I don't know, the fact that they're making it an even bigger Bigger story leads me to think something else is coming. ⁓ because why why else would you make a big deal about this? We know it's been an investigation since literally before the season. We've had the finals, we've had the draft, we've had we're in the middle of free agency, we've had trades, and you guys approved the trade last week. Now you're not y'all are not approving the trade. Like, I don't know. That just seems messy on the NBA's part. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Mm-hmm. You wanna give me my one? I'm gonna give you my conspiracy theory. My conspiracy theory is that the Torontos I my okay, first of all, I said that him going to Toronto is not gonna make them a championship contender. I got a lot of pushback on YouTube. Shout out to YouTube, ⁓ the platform is the hype real podcast. When I posted a short video saying that you bought a Ferrari with a a smart car engine. You know what I mean? A lot of miles on it too. So it might blow them knees or shot. KW: Okay, let's hear it. Mm. JonBE aka DJ Chill: I really think he got the Toronto. They saw what they had in the physical, and they said, yo, we got we got got. This is not the duel we thought we were getting. And I think that, like you said, a lot going on behind the scenes. I really think Kawhi might not be the same Kawaii that they thought they were getting. They thought they were getting NBA champion kawaii. This is NBA retirement kawaii. This is his knees are worse than mine. KW: Mm. JonBE aka DJ Chill: And I'm 40. So you know, he he I do not think if this keeps going that the trade will go through. Why why does this have anything to do with him going to Toronto? Now, if anything, they want to suspend him. If they want to say, hey, you gotta sit out. Hey, you gotta give back that money that you were getting for being a no-show employee to this company that was associated with the LA Clippers. That has nothing to do with him being traded. I think there's a underlying issue here about his health. And instead of blasting that, they say, ⁓ we're just gonna wait. And then if the if he gets, you know, you know, pe penalized penalized by the NBA, we're just gonna say, no, the trade is off. Because they gave away a King's ransom for this guy. Plus a young star and Brandon Ingram. So I really think that it's it's a lot deeper, but I really think it's more about his health. That's my dark conspiracy theory. Any thoughts about that? KW: You might not be wrong. I mean, everything you said makes sense. ⁓ like you can still suspend the guy, you can still find the guy, you can still do everything you need if he's on Toronto. ⁓ I mean we've seen that we've seen that happen in other sports, we've seen that happen across yeah, across many sports, across many platforms where you can still get your punishment. I mean he's still a member of the NBA. It makes no difference what team he's on, you know, to receive this punishment. So maybe, maybe it is something as far as, you know, Toronto just backing out because of his physicals. But we've also seen that happen, you know, just last year with the Mark Williams trade to ⁓ to the Lakers where they they turned down his physical or his physicals didn't come back well. So we've seen that in the NBA. I I don't really understand why they decided to put this out there today. It may none of it really makes sense to me at all, honestly. ⁓ so for that, I again I think it's gonna make for great content, especially if he stays with the Clippers. That I I would love to see that. I would love to see like what what happens with Toronto, what happens to the Clippers, like just what what the blowback would be all around the NBA. But as far as the NBA, the organization. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Yes. Yeah. KW: It just seems super messy for them to put this out in the public because they could have done all this behind the scenes without us knowing and done the investigation. Yeah. And and done the investigation and then okay, once we figure it out. But again, I don't know what's holding the investigation up because a journalist has already done ninety five, ninety nine percent of the work. He's even interviewed guys who were behind the scenes. So I don't know. I don't get it. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Tell there's more to it, man. Correct. All the dirt. He got all the dirt. Exactly. So ⁓ why is it so publicized? I really think that there's some there's with the smoke, there's fire. I already said that him going there doesn't make them a championship team. And I think he might be w ⁓ even though coming off of the most games he's played since his first year with the Clippers, like we discussed last year on his Hyper Real Podcast. It's not really looking good for him future wise to be that guy that they thought they got for all that they gave up. All right. We're gonna move along. My main man, LeBron James, the king, the GOAT, has not decided where he wants to go yet. It's down to a couple of teams. They're down to a hundred and one million dollar bidding war for this guy. Hundred and one million. So he's gonna get paid no matter where he goes. So it's really up to him where he feels is going to be the best fit for him. Storybook ending would be Cleveland. A championship run might be Denver or the Sixers. ⁓ in your opinion, and you know, we'll keep it we'll keep it contained, what is the best choice for a championship for LeBron James? KW: If we're talking championship, hard not i if if the Sixers keep Embiid, it's hard not to say Philly. ⁓ that's a pretty well rounded team there. ⁓ with Maxie, with now Jalen Brown, with Joel Embiid, ⁓ with Nick Nurse at coach, like you wouldn't you wouldn't have to do a lot if you're LeBron James. You can kinda sit back and let Maxie and let Jalen Brown do the heavy lifting and you can kind of just play point guard. ⁓ JonBE aka DJ Chill: Championship. Yes. KW: You know what I mean? And th you know, they they've lost some depth, but they still you know, they still have enough as far as shooting and defense goes to where he he can kinda just go in and fill in where he needs to and just be LeBron James and just use his IQ, use his passing ability, use his finishing ability, be a pick and roll guy. ⁓ I don't know, I think Philly like I think that would be a great fit for him. I really do. JonBE aka DJ Chill: I think keeping it in containment, and this is just me maybe being a homer. I think the best place for him to be would be the Cleveland Cavaliers. Think about it, man. He comes there, you know, he's going to be that guy. He has Donovan Mitchell. He has James Harden who could take another step back. You'll still have Mobley. You'll still have Allen. That team needs a veteran presence and somebody who has championship DNA that means a lot. KW: The land. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Ask the ask the Knicks about it, even though the championships were in college. It being something to play in those games, Billanova Knicks. I think he just would be comfortable in the city that he's from, grew up in andor around, even though he's an Akron kid. And we would be able to build around what is already a good bench with his leadership. And other people will come to play at veteran minimums just because they see it's LeBron. And I think This isn't his last year. I think next year'll be his last year and be his vic his his tour, you know, his farewell tour. He's got another year of averaging twenty three, seven and seven on pretty much any team he goes to, and that's in a limited role. So I think it would be the Cavaliers for a championship. We need a guy like him where you might not be needed in Philly. We were having a conversation about where is Jalen Brown playing as the is he Batman in Philly? KW: Think so. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Because if it goes Joel and B, Maxie, then and then Jalen Brown. He was facing, you know, LeBron comes in there, then where's Jalen Brown? He does he want LeBron there? Right. You know, he goes to Denver. You know, it goes, it goes ⁓ Jokic, it goes Murray, then it goes LeBron. I don't care how you want to say it. I know LeBron's great, but he's 40 years old, and Murray and Jokic are in the prime of their career, so he would have to take a back seat. KW: Right. JonBE aka DJ Chill: So where does he get the most opportunity? Not only be the man, but also be a champion. I think it's Cleveland. That's just my opinion on the things. Chat what y'all think, tap in anytime. ⁓ let me know what y'all are feeling about that. We're gonna keep it rolling. ⁓ go ahead, go ahead, go ahead, do your thing. KW: Real quick, real quick. I I I just wanna say I think Philly's the best spot, but I actually don't think he's going to Philly. And I have a hard time seeing him going to Cleveland too. ⁓ this is this is someone who went to LA, not really for basketball reasons. He he really wanted to live in LA and he wanted to expand his brand. And as you said, he's forty, forty one years old. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Really? Peace. Correct. KW: I think he's going back to Miami, man. I you you're gonna have a hard time convinced you're you're gonna have a hard time convincing me he's going from the beautiful sun in Los Angeles back to the land or to Philly or you know what I mean? New York would be the option if it was an East Coast team and may maybe Philly because Philly's so close to New York. But I think I see him going to Miami and teaming up with with Giannis and enjoying the sun there and seeing, you know, what other players they can bring in. ⁓ JonBE aka DJ Chill: Yeesh. KW: course you got the Pat Riley factor there. They didn't leave on the best of terms. But ⁓ JonBE aka DJ Chill: He says he's welcome back. He'll leave a key underneath the mat for LeBron. That's what Pat Riley said. KW: Hey, there we there we go. I don't know. I think LeBron's gonna choose the son over over Cleveland. I think if he was going back to Cleveland, he'd already be back. JonBE aka DJ Chill: It's going to be interesting to see. Because he, I think, you know, at this time of his phase of his career, he has to think, where's my best chance? And it's not in Miami. It's not Miami. And that's just my opinion. I could be wrong. Who am I to tell him what's best for him? Alright. So I want to play a game. We got two games we want to play. And I want the chat to chime in also. So I want to play a game and I want to play who's better than. But this one is King of the Hill style. Best Dunker. King of the Hill style. KW: True. That's true. No, it's very true. JonBE aka DJ Chill: In the NBA all time. And the apex predator in this game will be the one, the only, Mr. Air Canada himself, Vince Carter. He's gonna be what everybody is gonna for when we ask who is the best dunker in the history of dunkers. I want the chat to chime in. I want ⁓ everybody else to say what they feel, if there's anybody I name, and then y'all can stop me when y'all hear somebody that's like, yo, he's better. KW: Ha ha ha. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Somebody already chimed in. ⁓ Brian will give the Cavs much needed toughness. Absolutely. And direction, and he can calm them down when they're running around frantic. The problem was never offense. It was when they're up, they're good. When they're down, they don't know what the hell to do. Just my opinion. ⁓ C Glove popped on and said Vince Carter. Okay, Vince Carter's the apex as far as King of the Hill when it comes to dunking. I give you that. But C Glove, I want you to give me when I'm gonna name some people. And it's gonna be interesting. We're gonna start small, we're gonna work our way up. All right. And I want y'all to give me I want Cal, stop me when. When I name somebody who's higher in the King of the Hill. We're gonna we're gonna start ⁓ we're gonna start off of I don't know. I got some names here, man. I got some names here that people forget about. KW: Might be difficult. No, I don't know. Vin Vince might be my pick, but I'll I'll see if I'll see who challenges him. I'll see who challenges him. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Okay. Andre Igadala. KW: good one. He's got some great dunks. He's got some great dunks. JonBE aka DJ Chill: I know, right? Gerald Wallace. Tracy McGrady. KW: Another great one. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Yanis out of the compo. KW: He's some joints. He's got some joints. JonBE aka DJ Chill: He does. Darryl doctor Dunkenstein Griffin. KW: ⁓ that's a that's a throwback. I thought he was going Daryl Dawkins. Daryl Griffith. A lot of youngins probably don't know about him, but ⁓ no, not not in Vince Carter's class. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Mm mm. Larry Nan Senior. KW: Good one too. No. JonBE aka DJ Chill: That's a good one. Best dunker king of the heel wi ⁓ with Carter being the apex. I need chat to chime in. Stop me when y'all hear somebody. ⁓ give you a give you Kill O'Neal. KW: It's great one. Shaq's got some bodies. Shaq's got some bodies, but Vince, come on, it's Vince Carter. You know what mean? That's another good one. I love Amari. But we're going Vince. We're going Vince. Mm-mm. Didn't play long enough. Didn't dunk long enough. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Amari Stademeyer. Derrick Rose. But the dunks he did were absolutely insane against people. My man AJ said VC. So you let me I'm gonna name some names, AJ. I'm gonna name some names. Okay, I got one. All right, all right. Let's make it interesting. Sean Rainman Kemp. KW: It's true. It's true. They were not That's a that's a great one. Sean Kemp. Sean Kemp's on the short list. I'd still have Vince higher than Sean Kemp though. Kemp's right there. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Really? Sean Kent was amazing, man. Sean Kent was amazing. Anthony Edwards. KW: Not yet. Not yet. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Desmond Mason. KW: Nah. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Okay. ⁓ LeBron James. KW: LeBron's LeBron's got an argument. He's definitely got an argument. He's got twenty two years of dunks, right? I'm still going Vince. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Okay. Kobe Bryant. KW: Kobe's up there. I I think people I think people sleep on Kobe's dunks. I think Kobe's pretty much above everybody with dunks other than Vince, really, honestly. So I I still got Vince a little higher. Shouts to Jamie, by the way. Shouts to Jamie. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Enough. Shout out Jamie pulling up for the first time. We appreciate you in the comments. ⁓ Nate Robinson. KW: No, I ain't got me. That is. JonBE aka DJ Chill: That's a that's a that's a that's a nice one right there. Okay. Seagl say, how about Blake Griffin and MJ? That was my next one. Blake Griffin. KW: Blake's up there on the short list too. I'd still have Vince ahead of him, but Blake's Blake's got an argument. Blake's got an argument. JonBE aka DJ Chill: That's a good one right there. Dark Kivia said Dominique Wilkins, the human highlight reel, bro. That that's KW: We saying him? Is that the next one? Dominique. JonBE aka DJ Chill: I'm saying, yeah, Dominique Wilkins. KW: That would be the other one. If it's not Vince, it's Dominique. I'll say that. I'll say that. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Really? Okay, so we got Dom up there. Let's make it let's make it even more difficult for you. Let's make it a little bit more difficult. And this one right here, people ain't gonna really love, but he's a killer when it comes to dunk. Mac McClung. Yeah. KW: I ⁓ shit. I mean he's a beast in the dunk contest. The joints he would have had this year, I don't know if you saw that video, but he had like four dunks he was gonna do and they were like all insane. They were all insane. ⁓ someone's I see someone said ja that's a that's a good shout too. No to McClung. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Yeah. Ja. Ja Morant? So so McClung, no? All right. Aaron Gordon. KW: No to Aaron Gord, but he's up there too. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Zach Lavine. KW: No to him too, but he's a he's a great dunk contest dunker. He's got some in game joints too. JonBE aka DJ Chill: I said that was Sean Kemp, the Rain Man. I put him out there. Would you put Sean? You say Sean Kemp over over Air Canada? Kemp. KW: Kemp's I wouldn't say over, but he's up there. Kemp's up there. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Doctor Julius Irvin. KW: All respect. All respect to Dr. J. He's White Boy Mac. White boy Mac. White boy Mac. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Mac is a legend. He is. Mac McClung's a legend. He's Duncan legend. Man, listen here. White man can't jump. That's a bad that's a bad guy right there. He is cold. KW: Matt yo, Matt, like I said, go check out the dunks he was gonna do in this year's dunk contest. I was like, yo, he would have they would have surpassed every dunk ever in the dunk contest. No joke. ⁓ Dr. J's up there too. Dr. J is another one. Yeah. JonBE aka DJ Chill: That's what we just talked about. Ju that's what we just talked about, Clove. Julius Irvin. Yeah, he's he's like so we got Dominique Wilkins that's a close contender. Dr. J's up there too. KW: Like, out of the people you've named so far, I would put Dr. J, Dominique, Sean Kemp, and Kobe. Those would be the four that I'm like, they've got they've got the resume. And Michael Jordan's my favorite. You haven't mentioned MJ yet. He's my favorite player of all time. Okay, all right. I he's my favorite player of all time. I think he's slightly overrated as a dunker. I would take the four players I just said. I would I would take, yeah, the JonBE aka DJ Chill: He's next. Michael Jordan. Wow. I can't get mad at that. I said the same thing in one of the other episodes. KW: I would take the five players I just said over Mike as far as dunking. He's still in the top ten, but I would take Kemp, Doctor J, Dominique, Vince and Kobe over Mike as far as in game dunks and Blake Griffin. Blake Griffin's up there too for me. JonBE aka DJ Chill: His in game dunks, Blake Griffin's in-game dunks were insane. He started the thunk. When you just take it, you saw how you just throw it in the hoop. It'd be okay. It still counts for two and it looks really cool. So if you had to say somebody who was in the same platform as Vince, we got Kobe, Dominique Wilkins, no Sean Kemp. Sean Kemp, Dr. J. Doctor J. No Mike. KW: Yeah, right, exactly. Yeah. Just throw the joint at there. Exactly. Yeah. Yeah. Kobe, Dominique, Dr. J. Sean Kemp's in there. Dr. J, and then probably Blake Blake Griffin and then Mike. Him, LeBron, all the other ones, they're kinda like they're the next tier. And that's that's no disrespect either. That's like still a high tier. But is what it is. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Thank you, FN. No Mike. Mike's not there. He's They're in its next tier. ⁓ people gonna be mad about that one. Yeesh. Respect. Respect the MJ. I and I you people can say I give MJ crap all the time, but nobody's messing with Eric Kennedy. He jumped over a dude that was eight feet tall in the game. In the game. And he in the Olympics. It was absolutely amazing. One of the greatest things I've ever saw. KW: E exactly. In the game in the Olympics, like And probably the best on contest performance too, before Aaron Gordon and Levine. JonBE aka DJ Chill: I agree. I agree. Chad, keep chiming in with who you think what else should be in there. ⁓ I I'm I'm gonna roll with Air Canada, but I love your picks that you had with some of the other guys. And I I think you're very much so on point. ⁓ so we're gonna play another game before we get over to our ⁓ our our next segment. This one should be interesting. We got a lot of old heads that that that think they know some things or or guarantee they know some things. So I I wanna see what their thought processes are because KW: Mm. JonBE aka DJ Chill: They're gonna be mad, but that's what it's about. It's about poking the bear over here at this is the Hyper Real podcast. Okay, so this game is called Stop Me When I Name Someone Better. So the game today that we picked is Stop Me When I Name Somebody Better, com stand-up comedian style. The apex predator in this game is Dave Chappelle. Dave Chappelle is the Ape. He's the he's the top tier comedian that we're using as the standard. And I want everybody to chime in and tell me. Say Ace Bailey up next. You think so? Should be interesting. Yeah, I'm not mad. That's a good pick. Yeah, Ace Bailey. That's a good one. Snuck that one in there. So hey, we're gonna see what happens. Hey, the chat got some good takes. All right, so stop me when I name someone better. KW: And he he said that unprompted too, like Ace Bailey, all right. He ain't even a dunker like that, but all right. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Comedy stand stand up comedy edition. It then then Dave Chappelle Dave Chappelle's he he might be the goat. I don't know. We're gonna we're gonna start soft. We're gonna start a little soft. ⁓ big pause. Damian Wayans. Damien Wayans. Stand up. If we starting soft, pause. I keep saying it. Okay, okay. ⁓ he's got great. KW: That's another tough one. That's another tough one. Dave's Dave's a goat. Dave's a goat. Might be legal. Might be legal. Pause. Damit Wains? I'm gonna I'm gonna say no to Damon Wades. Damon Wade's good on TV though. I like Damon Wades on T. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Can't craze that. DL Hughley. Tim the tool man Taylor Allen. I call him T Tim Allen. We throwing it out there, man. We're going we starting a little soft, man. We starting we're starting to we we easing into it. Adam Sandler. KW: Tim Allen. Whoa, I did not expect that's crazy. Shouts to Buzz Lightyear. ⁓ Adam Saylor, nah, not stand up, not stand up. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Billy Crystal. KW: Damn, no, no. I can't say I've seen much of Billy Crystal's stand up though. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Jim Carrey. KW: No. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Martin Lawrence. KW: Underrated, but no. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Really? No Martin. Okay. Red fox. A lot of people don't ain't hit the red fox. Old school took it back. KW: Not familiar. He's he's he's a old school like I I probably seen a clip here and there, but I'm laughing at what Jamie just said, but I'll I gotta go no with Red Fox. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Let's put it up there what she just said. Said you said you can stop, nobody is better. Wow, I respect it. Said Tim Allen, laugh my motherfucker bye. I'll say we start we was we was gonna ease into it, Jamie. I can't just throw out the killers off top. We gotta we gotta make a segment out of this. KW: You c I You could have gave me like five hundred names. I did would not have expected Tim Allen. That's hella random. But I like it. I like, you know, again, shouts to home improvement. Shouts to Buzz Lightyear, man. Shouts to Tim Allen. ⁓ that's a goat. That for some people, this would be a for sure, yeah. Robin Williams r ain't really my style, but rest in peace to the great Robin Williams. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Get us start at the bottom. He was trash, but I want me to improve. Robin Williams. R R P All right. Jerry Seinfield. KW: No, never been a Seinfeld guy. People love Seinfeld. Yeah. JonBE aka DJ Chill: He I never really people love Seinfield though. That dry humor, they love Seinfield. I've never been I've never been a guy. I got KW: I've never seen an episode of Seinfeld, but the stand up I've seen from him, I'm always like, ⁓ whatever. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Not really defend. Bill Cosby. KW: No. He's got some good bits, I guess, but no. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Okay. Let's let's let's all right, we're getting to the thick of it. We get into the teeth of it. Eddie Murphy. KW: I mean, come on, that's that's a lot of people's go right there too. ⁓ he I have not seen his like I've never seen Eddie Murphy Raw. I've seen some bits from the stand up, but I have not seen enough I've not seen enough of him. I'm laughing at Jamie again. I've not ⁓ right, right? ⁓ JonBE aka DJ Chill: I am too. If she said exactly random as hell. Hey, we gotta work our way up. You don't just turn the oven up to a thousand, you gotta put it on three fifty first. KW: I haven't seen enough of Eddie to confidently say that. Though an I I bet a lot of people in this chat would have Eddie above Dave. You know, I think a lot of the comedians you're about to say and have already said, look up to Eddie Murphy. So ⁓ I'm gonna say no, but I know a lot of people would say yes to Eddie. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Getting into it. Okay. Fair enough. Chris Rock. KW: Chris Rock's up there for me. ⁓ JonBE aka DJ Chill: He's on the same tier, Chappelle. KW: Here's the thing. The late career stuff I've seen from Chappelle I like a lot better than than Chris Rock. I think Chris Rock's fallen off a little bit. In their prime, I think they're pretty close. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Richard Pryor. KW: He's another one like Eddie and other and and like Red Fox, who I have not seen enough of to confidently say that that's what people say. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Richard Power was hilarious, man. He was absolutely hilarious. But it was more dirty comedy, you know, bitish than it was actual social comedy. Like Chappelle does social comedy about life and ties it in and makes you go, Wow, that's that's kinda dark, but that's hilarious. All right. I got one chat that I think that I in my opinion he's on the same tier. KW: Right. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Bernie Mac. KW: That's a great one. That's a great one. Rest in peace to the great Bernie Mac. ⁓ he's had like I followed the stand up page on Instagram. So I have like it's funny that like some of these names that I wouldn't normally watch, I have seen pop up and I'm trying to like educate myself more. And Bernie Mac's one of them who's like consistently got laughs out of me. 'Cause I seen him when he like before he passed, I seen him more on T V than I did stand up 'cause I was a bit younger. But JonBE aka DJ Chill: R.I.P. to Bernie Mac. KW: Bernie Mac's up there. I can't put him over Dave. I've seen a lot of Dave's work and l a lot of Chris Rock's work. So Chris Rock is probably the first one that's like that I would consider. That I've seen. Because Eddie and Richard Pryor and Bernie Mac are probably all deserving, but I have not seen them enough for me. ⁓ shit. That's random. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Sinbad. Sinbad was hilarious. I watched some of his stand up coming up and and it was old even then, but it was absolutely hilarious. You gotta he got some shit, man. He got he got some heat. Alright, not and that Cedric the Entertainer. KW: Sinbad got some shit. He got some shit. I'ma say no to Sinbad, but he he got he got something. ⁓ huh. King of comedy, right? ⁓ I ain't gonna put Cedric up there, but Cedric's funny too. Cedric's great. Now we're talking. Now we're talking. Kat's up there too. Now we're love Kat. Love Kat. I'm not gonna put him over Dave, but yo, he he's right there. He's right there. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Cat Williams. How we talking? Cat's up there? Wow. So he so so if you had to order him, you would go Chappelle, Cat, Chris Rock? KW: It'd be between Chris Rock and Kat in some order. I probably prefer cat over Chris Rock. Especially in his prime cat. Yeah, cat's up there. JonBE aka DJ Chill: I would have to take Chappelle, Bernie Mac, then Kat. Cat ⁓ Cat is hilarious, but Bernie Mack was that guy. He's absolutely hilarious. But I don't think anybody, even ⁓ the respect to the OGs, is messing with Dave Chappelle. He's just ultimately just consistent on every level. Jamie's going hard in the chat. We appreciate you. ⁓ she said, Bernie is amazing. Dave is goaded, though. I've watched Dave stands up. KW: Yeah, Bernie's funny man. Bernie's funny. Bernie is a Bernie's incredibly That means. JonBE aka DJ Chill: unhealthy amount an unhealthy amount of times to the point I can recite it. Respect it. A little bit. It's a little excessive, but I then I'm unhealthy 'cause I can recite some stuff from movies and stuff. So I'm I might be I might be unhealthy my damn self. I ain't mad at it. KW: That is a bit unhealthy. That is a bit a bit unhealthy if you can recite you can recite it, you know, that might be a little unhealthy. Yeah. No Kevin Hart in this ⁓ in this exercise. JonBE aka DJ Chill: I don't think he's up there, but we'll throw it out there. Kevin Hart. We know he's not up there. He's No. KW: Yeah. Yeah, I don't I don't think he's on Dave's level. I do think I do think Kevin Hart's overhated though. Like I'll see a bunch of people be like, ⁓ he's never funny. I've never laughed at a joke. I'm like, how's he popular then if you ain't never you know what mean? Like I agree. I agree. JonBE aka DJ Chill: What? Yeah, they hating. His earlier stuff was a lot funnier than his later stuff. He was richer b he was funnier before he got rich. Does that make sense? That happens a lot with rappers. That happens a lot with everybody. You're a lot more you're a lot more hungry before you got a championship. You know. Got any Something like that. So we're goaded so we're so we're goaded with Dave Chappelle right now. He's number one. KW: I yeah, that that happens a lot with that happens a lot with comedians. That definitely happens a lot. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Money kills everything. Hell yeah. Yeah, yeah. Hard to stay hungry with satin sheets. Is that the saying? Something like that? Something like that. Yeah, man. Put the crown on Dave Chappelle, put the crown on Vince Carter. Yeah. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Of all time right now, Dave Shafiel? Okay, so they King of the Hill. Vince Carter, King of the Hill as far as Duncan, Dave Chappelle, King of the Hill as far as stand up comedian. Fair enough. Fair enough. All right. Let's switch up the subject a little bit. KW: Think so. JonBE aka DJ Chill: It's getting into that time, everybody. It is my favorite season of the year. Football. No, it's football. The football is over with. America lost. Boo. Boo. America lost, man. They they they s they s they stunk up the bed, man. KW: Yeah. Shouts to the World Cup. Shouts to the World Cup. We Yeah, f I mean, yeah. Team USA, I could I could give you a 15 minute rent on Team USA and all this all that they don't do for ⁓ for American soccer. But everyone else that's still in the tournament, it's a great tournament. Go check it out if y'all have it. Shouts to the cup. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Yeah. Shout out to the rest of the team. But this this is my this is my quick thought about team USA. KW: Yeah. Yeah, ⁓ yeah, yeah, yeah. They're a joke. They're a joke. Get in USA the fuck out of here. Get them the fuck out of here. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Yeah, what are we doing? Come on, man. I can do about p p take those guys and teach ⁓ how to play flag football for the Olympics. They'll be all right. All right. Let's talk some NFL, man. It's that season and around an NFL ⁓ speaking of NFL season, ⁓ when the when the season kicks off I go live reaction Sunday where I talk about the hometown team, the Cleveland Browns, but I also talk a lot of fantasy and football in general. KW: Yeah. JonBE aka DJ Chill: So every Sunday live reaction Sunday when the season begins. But we're going to talk about a little AFC South. ⁓ we're gonna do a little tiers. And with the AFC South, we got it's I picked them first because they're one of the crappier divisions in football. Fair to say, is you know, it's debatable. But they're they're not they're not top tier at all. ⁓ chat going crazy. Appreciate Jimmy. Not the whole thing, but a lot. I do like Kevin too. He's up there. Fair enough. Touche. KW: Fair to say. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Respect. ⁓ so we're not just gonna go we're not gonna go through the whole damn teams. What we're gonna do is we're gonna look for the standouts. I want the best of the best of the best, sir. You know, so in the AFC South, we got four things that we wanna name. We wanna name who's the best quarterback, who's the best running back, who's the best wide receiver, and who's the best defensive player, and that whole division. You can only pick one of each. So let's start on the bottom and work our way up. Who do you have as the best defensive player in the AFC South? KW: Best defensive player in the AFC South. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Best offensive player in the A in the AFC side. KW: Let me just say before like I feel like this is like preseason for me because we're about to go hard with the NFL August and September on the Warner Brothers podcast, as well as is the Hype Real podcast. So I feel like I'm like getting warmed up for all my preseason takes here. So I appreciate the football in July. ⁓ the best defensive player, hell yeah. Hell yeah. The best defensive player in the AFC South, ⁓ off the top of my head, I'd probably have to say Will Anderson Jr. for the Texas. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Course. You already know. It's so fun. I love it. Master. KW: He's coming off of two back to back seasons. This is this will be his fourth season. The last two seasons he's got double digit sacks. ⁓ if I remember correctly, wasn't he the number one pick in his draft? If not, he was he was definitely high. ⁓ Yeah. JonBE aka DJ Chill: He was top rookie of the year, defensive player, defensive rookie of the year. So his his sacks are seven, eleven, twelve over the last three seasons. KW: Yeah, he's on his way. He's on his way. And ⁓ that Texans defense, everything about it is top tier. That's a Super Bowl defense, and he leads it. ⁓ you know, they they pretty much live and die at this point by this defense. ⁓ we'll talk about quarterbacks here in a sec, but you know, it looked like CJ Stroud was the answer and he still might be the answer, but JonBE aka DJ Chill: Yes. He might be. KW: He's regressed a little bit and now this this defense is really top billing on this team and Will Anderson is a huge reason why. And I cannot wait to see what he really does to cement himself this season. JonBE aka DJ Chill: I totally agree. It was an easy pick for me. It was either him or the safety Petrie, but the amount of chaos that Will Anderson Jr. causes when he's out there is undeniable. He is three years in and he is one of the top ten ⁓ edges in football. And he has nothing but upside. He's the reason that their defense is really good. He's almost like the reason that the Browns defense was good was was Miles Garrett. And we're still solid as a whole. KW: Yeah. JonBE aka DJ Chill: But when you take out that piece, that makes the defense a little bit of a step back because you're missing out on probably the arguably the best player in football across all positions, if you want to keep it real. So yeah, Will Anderson, easy pick for me, ⁓ is the best player in the AFC South defensively. And we're going to keep working our way up the chart. ⁓ for the chart, I want to ask you who is the best wide receiver right now in the AFC South? KW: I think it's Nico Collins. I think it's Nico Collins of the Texans. ⁓ consistent. You saw how much the team took a dip when he was injured last year. Like, like I said, the defense is top billing, but the offense kind of lives and dies by Nico Collins. Excuse me, if we're being honest. They patched up the ⁓ running back room last year and actually got some quality running from their from their ⁓ running backs, which was surprising. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Top tier. No, they didn't. They were horrible in the running game. Horrible. KW: They they were horrible. I mean, they did a lot better than what we thought, considering the offensive line, considering how inconsistent CJ Stro right, considering how inconsistent CJ Stroud can be. ⁓ Nico's the one they can really depend on. And ⁓ you know, low-key, who knows how he'll be. It's still early on in his career, but they will be getting Tank Dell back this year, too, who is a major weapon and a big part of CJ's success in his rookie season. ⁓ so we'll see. I would have said JonBE aka DJ Chill: Yeah. Their offensive line was trash. Trash. ⁓ KW: Michael Pittman Jr., but he also he he left for Pittsburgh. ⁓ so it would have been between him and Nico for me. But and then we'll see 'cause I think Travis Hunter, he's moving full time to defense this year, I believe. That having said JonBE aka DJ Chill: Got the bag. They haven't dis they haven't said yet, but w it's looking like that might be the play. KW: ⁓ you know, and then Alec Pierce is in Indianapolis. He's, you know, he's not their number one, but I feel like he's one of the best playmakers across the entire league. Maybe, maybe. I mean, he's undersized and he's more of a deep threat than he is like in between. ⁓ and ⁓ you know, Nico Nico's a complete package. So I I'm gonna go with Nico. Okay, let's hear it. JonBE aka DJ Chill: You don't think he's their number one de facto. Absolutely. He's a burner. He's a burner. Yes. I got I got one for you. Carnell Tate. KW: Sell me. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Carnell Tate is coming out of Ohio State. He's got a pedigree to be a champion. He's 6'2, almost 200 pounds, runs of 4'6. He's a deep threat. He's a hands guy. He can play underneath. And I think he is going to be the alpha receiver for the previous number one overall pick in Cam Ward. They've got a new coach and Salah, who's a defensive guy, but the secret sauce is Brian Dayball. Now, if you're not hit the dying Brian Dayball, he made Josh Allen look good. He made Daniel Jones look good and he made Jackson Dart look good. So when you got a guy who's in the same vein athletically and arm talent-wise with Cam Ward, getting the ball to you know who's going to be the number one guy, and he's running that system, Cardinal Tate is the is the only thing in town when it comes to the Titans. And they're got a coach who has to win with ⁓ with a defense, with the offensive coordinator who's trying to prove himself so he can be a head coach again in this league. Who's actually a really good offensive coordinator, maybe not a good head coach. I like Brian Dable. I I would have took him on the Browns. I even I even, you know, I rooted for him to get the job. But I think Cardinal Tate coming in, he's a grown man and he's gonna be able to just step in and be able to do his thing off top. He's ex he's extremely talented, soft hands, and he's gonna be the lifeline for Cam Ward. And that's why I think he's gonna be the best receiver coming in as a rookie in the AFC South. KW: So you think by the so you think by the time we get to January, like it'll we're not even gonna like question it, like it's gonna be like nah he's the guy. Okay, but he's he's gonna be in Nico's class? JonBE aka DJ Chill: Yes. It's gonna be argumentative, but I think because y I think he's going to be there by somewhat of a default because if CJ does what CJ did last year, Nico can't be Nico. And I think that the Titans take a step in the right direction because they're gonna have one of the worst schedules in the NFL and they actually have a coaching staff that is filled with people who have done it time and time again. KW: Yeah. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Sala on the defensive side. They're gonna protect him. And then Dable on the offensive side, who's made guys who play the same way as Cam Ward into perennial superstars in the league. Daniel Jones got paid. They made him look he made him look good. Jackson Dart is supposed to be the next best thing since sliced bread. And you know, ⁓ we all know the story of Josh Allen who was picked and nobody coming out of Wyoming, nobody wanted him because he was inaccurate. Brian Dable fixed all that. KW: Mm-hmm. JonBE aka DJ Chill: So I think Cardinal Tate will be the guy in the AFC South. Just my opinion. All right, let's keep it moving. AFC South running back. Come on, this one's I I I don't even I'm just gonna put the picture up, man. I might even KW: Yeah, yeah. Mr. almost two K. He didn't end up with two K last year, right? But he was close. Man, he's consistent, he's a beast. JonBE aka DJ Chill: He didn't. He had 1585. Third in the league. 18 touchdowns. First in the league. Go ahead. Jonathan Taylor. If those for those who don't know, Indiana, ⁓ Indian Indianapolis coach running back. Best in the AFC South, Jonathan Taylor. Go ahead, Kyle. KW: Yeah, man. I mean, not much to add. I mean, he's he's a well rounded back as far as like he can run with power, he can outrun you. He's just kind of a smooth runner, man. He can give you little jukes here and there. Like he's pretty well rounded as a running back. ⁓ maybe not as far as like receiving. ⁓ but just as a pure running back, like not too many guys you'd want, right? If you're just trying to kill the clock, if you're trying to get five yards, if you're trying to get short yardage, if you need to break one. Like Jonathan Taylor's pretty damn reliable. ⁓ you know, running backs are always tricky because as we're gonna have for a future topic, you can just fall off a cliff. Everything could look amazing, everything could look like, ⁓ man, he's at he's at his the peak of his powers, he's athletic, and then it before you know it, it's just gone. And it exactly. So JonBE aka DJ Chill: Yes. It's over. Yeah, he just catches a flat tire, it's over. KW: ⁓ you know, we this could very well be a different running back if we did this the same time next year, but right now, man, it looks like Jonathan Taylor and only Jonathan Taylor ⁓ for stay healthy for the AFC South. For the AFC South. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Mm-hmm. For the AFC South. ⁓ David Montgomery, ⁓ Tootin, and ⁓ what's the guy? No more ETN. He went to New Orleans. He went and got the bag. I'm not mad at him. And then the running back for the Titans, you got who, Michael Carter and and Tony Pollard? No, he's he's the best. He's the he's the class of the class. He's Mr. Do It All. He might even throw you a touchdown. He's he's that guy. Okay. So KW: Mm-hmm. Toon. No more ETN. JonBE aka DJ Chill: AFC South, best quarterback in the AFC South. ⁓ we went with the same guy. We made it real easy on ourselves because it he he showed and did. ⁓ I'm gonna start it off. Trevor Lawrence. I my heart wanted to go with CJ Stroud, Ohio State alum, but I couldn't because ⁓ towards the second half of the season, Trevor Lawrence looked like a man on the mission. ⁓ they're their head coach. is turning that team around offensively. He's got them pedaled to the metal. He had 4,000 yards and 29 touchdowns. And he was supposed to be the next big thing. He was that generational guy coming out of Clemson. He was supposed to be the next him. But I think he really showed his ability to do so last year. And I think it'll be tougher with a tougher schedule, but I think he does still have the skill set and now the coaching to be the best quarterback in in the AFC South. And that's all I got to say about that. Cow, what you got? KW: Very well said. ⁓ down to the CJ Stroud point, like I exactly what I would say. ⁓ if you've watched the Warner Brothers podcast during football season specifically, you would know that Trevor Lawrence is one of our hottest topics. I I've said myself numerous times, and even last year before he went on his run, I think I said like I'm done with this guy as whatever they've whatever they've said he's gonna be, like he will never be that. And I still believe that. He's never gonna be like 'cause they were t to comparing him to like Andrew Luck and Peyton Manning. He ain't never gonna be that. But you're correct. The second half of the season he turned up and he actually like looked like he lived up to his potential. And he didn't play well in the Buffalo game at home in the playoffs, but he also wasn't the reason they necessarily lost either. ⁓ JonBE aka DJ Chill: Never. Right. No. Amazing. Absolutely. KW: So he he definitely looks a lot better than his previous years. Again, I I wasn't a huge fan given the hype. I was kinda like, all right, who's this guy? Like, I'll believe it when I see it. And it's been for what, three, four or five seasons and we really still haven't seen it. But the second half of the year, they went on a run. He was a big part of the run. He actually looked mature. He looked apart and JonBE aka DJ Chill: Yes. KW: Yeah, I feel like a hypocrite for choosing him, but he would be I I have to pick him over CJ Stroud. He even as inconsistent as Trevor Lawrence is, he's more consistent than CJ Stroud at this point in his career. ⁓ Daniel Jones obviously coming off an Achilles. ⁓ and then Cam Ward is unproven. So by default, it's Trevor Lawrence, and I don't love it. I don't love it. I want to pick CJ Stroud because I'm not the biggest Trevor Lawrence guy, but but I picked him. But I pick I picked Sunshine, yeah. JonBE aka DJ Chill: By default. You gotta own it, bro. You pick Trevor Lawrence. You pick Sunshine. Sunshine KW: Shouts to Brandon Petty. He's a big Jags fan. And boy, does he go through the emotions on the WBP about Trevor Lawrence. He's gone up and down on it on the Trevor Lawrence roller coaster as well. So ⁓ yeah. Yeah, I agree with you. I agree with everything you said. Yeah, yeah. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Fair enough. All right. We lock that in. Let's keep it moving. Are you not entertained when we talk about everything under the sun when it comes to entertainment? ⁓ last week we talked about an album and it was it was I I had the leg up, you know, unfairly, because you know, it it was one of those last minute things I kinda threw Kyle a curveball. ⁓ so I asked Kyle, I said, ⁓ what do you think about the Kill the King album? TI. New album for TI. And he said, I haven't really, you know, dug into it like I want to. So he went back and we I really wanted to get his take on this. Kill the King album T.I. What are your takes now about this album? I told you I gave it a six out of ten, five and a half, six out of ten overall, and it was more of his old school trap music than it really was him trying to be an artist that's continuously continually growing and being better. What are your honest thoughts with my thoughts to the side? KW: Actually had a completely different takeaway. ⁓ I actually didn't I didn't find a lot of the trap stuff on there. To me, it was a very mature album, ⁓ which is what we've gotten a lot from TI, I feel like in the 2010s and on. ⁓ I was impressed with it actually. I I was impressed. There was a few in the middle there that I did not like. ⁓ let me let me look. I would say from JonBE aka DJ Chill: Really? Fair enough. KW: After cause you played Dope Boys Academy last week. After that track, Pistol on the Dance Floor. That that and Summer Walker, like that joint, the young boy joint, I didn't really mess with those. I actually like the Usher one. I'm not More than I thought. 'Cause I don't really love Usher as a feature. ⁓ Usher's one of my favorite R and B artists in general, probably, especially growing up, but anytime I see featuring Usher on a song, I kinda almost want to tune out. Like he's just JonBE aka DJ Chill: Fire. Yeah, it was horrible. Mm mm. Really? You like the Usher joint? Okay. Yeah. KW: It's not a good feature artist to me. I don't know why. Maybe, maybe that's an unpopular opinion. I don't know. ⁓ but overall, I was very impressed with it. I thought the beat selection was great. T.I. can as you said last week, man, T.I. can obviously rap, so he he ain't slipped at all there. ⁓ I actually thought it was a pretty sound album. I would give it a seven and a half out of ten, personally. Maybe seven point two. I'd have to, you know, really give it a listen. ⁓ you know, I don't see myself going back to it, but I I really like the beat selection. JonBE aka DJ Chill: That's not the problem. Really? Okay. I'll give it a six, six point one, six point two. Then it ain't a seven. ⁓ Seven to get you going back. KW: Eights maybe eights get me going back. I don't know. I don't know. ⁓ 'cause, you know, a lot of a lot of my music, like if I Right? It's tr that's tr that's about that's pretty accurate. ⁓ 'cause JonBE aka DJ Chill: That means seventy percent of the album was fire, seven out of ten. Yeah. KW: With me, like this past week, I actually didn't listen to a ton of music in general this week because of podcasts. I was listening to pot more podcasts than I did music, whereas last week I was listening to a lot more music. And funny enough, did not fit the T I album in until this week. But ⁓ I was impressed with it. I was impressed with it. I actually thought it was pretty cohesive. ⁓ you know, I wasn't listening to the lyrics a ton. I can't say I was listening in depth like that. I'm always a beats guy first. I'm always I'm always how it sounds. ⁓ JonBE aka DJ Chill: Fair enough. Okay. Most people are. Yeah, it sounds sonically. Yes, fair enough. KW: And I thought I thought he picked good beats. I thought I actually wanted more trap from TI. And then I yeah, and then I thought about it. I'm like, you know, an artist his age, if he goes too trap, then it maybe seems like he's not right. Right. It can come off as that. So I actually thought it was a good balance. I would have took a little more trap. There was more R and B there actually than I thought there would be. But I thought it was a good album overall, for sure. JonBE aka DJ Chill: You should have been. He's trying. He's trying too hard. Yeah. Fair enough. Solid. All right, so we're gonna go from T I to a guy that you introduced that said he should be in the big three. And he has a new album coming out, I think, tonight, midnight tonight, and that's Future Hendrix. My main man future. I'm a big fan of Future. He has an album dropping. He had a ra he had a ⁓ a single drop called Radio. It is a twenty two song album. KW: Tonight. Tonight. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Track list is already dropped. It's called The Real Me. You see, he's got a whole new look. He's dropped the dreads. He's gone blonde. He looks more mature, more grown up. Maybe he's not as toxic as he once was. You know, I doubt it. But you know, from what I'm looking at, the track looks looks pretty dope. He has ⁓ number one, fuck an interview. Number two, one two, no misery. Number four, California girls, number five, tank top player, six is weighed up. KW: Don't love it. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Seven is Kanichiwa. Eight is trench coat. Nine is snow and s was that Skyami? Skyama? Somebody'll get me get me together on the internet. Ten is Build a Bitch. Wow, that's toxic. ⁓ 11 is radio. 12 is 2018. 13 is money over everything. 14 is off the hinge. 15 if I could. 16 big moments. 17 cast a spell. 18 kick. 19 Hollywood. 20. Fillin'. I give. KW: Hey. ⁓ JonBE aka DJ Chill: Twenty one, Alice twenty two, eye to eye. Do you think this will be a classic album prematurely prematurely speaking from future? Not speaking of just a fan, but just your thoughts about future and just from what you're hearing and have heard as far as single wise. KW: First of all first of all, that was an impressive reading of the track list. I don't know if I've heard twenty two tracks read out like that consecutively. So that was that was impressive. ⁓ I don't know what to expect from this album because he's really he really started the rollout maybe two or three weeks ago and heavy emphasis on the real me. ⁓ which he already has a song, I believe, on a previous mixtape called The Real Me. So interesting title. ⁓ JonBE aka DJ Chill: Fluently. Wow, okay. KW: And then like you said, he's made the point to like he ain't got the dreads, he's got blonde hair, the music, like radio from what I heard, sounds like classic future. ⁓ real quick before I get into what else I'm gonna say, I saw a Photoshop earlier of his album cover with him with Wanda Sykes' face. That cracked me the hell up. Yeah, it got got me laughing pretty good. here's the weird thing with Future. ⁓ his JonBE aka DJ Chill: It does. I did too. That's hilarious. I saw that. That's hilarious. The internet is undefeated. KW: He's definitely gotten better as a rapper his whole career. He definitely started off more trap. And as we've discussed, like he actually was with Andre and all the with organized noise back in the day and was actually a lyricist way, way back in the day. But, you know, he's he's turned more radio and more trap throughout his career, obviously, as we know. But his music hasn't changed much. And he's it like he's one of the only artists that I've seen like really get away with it where people like will continuously fuck with it. Like Go through ⁓ Like he's got a few of those R and B joints. I think it was I forget if it's Future or Hendrix when he released the double albums, but one of those is heavily R and B and even one of the the last one he dropped a couple years ago that was based around the Drake beef. The second release of that, We Still Don't Trust You, that's what it's called. That one was kind of R and B themed as well. ⁓ so if he doesn't if he's not doing the trap shit, it's usually like trap R and B, which is dope. He's he's dope at that, but his music really doesn't change up. Only if it like depends on the producer. If he's going with Mike Will, if he's going with DJ Esco, it changes thematically with that. But everything is largely the same. He seems to be making a concerted effort. Like this maybe will be a different sound. And then like you, I saw today that it's twenty two tracks and that immediately kinda turned me off. And and future's one of my favorite artists. Y'all y'all heard me on here talking about he should be talked about in the big three with Drake and Cole and Kendrick. And twenty two tracks. I'm like, all right, man, I'm obviously gonna listen, but I'd rather an eighteen track album, I'd rather a sixteen or fourteen track album. Twenty two is a lot. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Really? Should be a big big three. KW: ⁓ so it's probably gonna be dope music. It seems like he's going for something else here. I don't know what the something else is, but also judging by that first single, which again, that's only one of twenty-two, it seems like more of the same, which has never been a bad thing with future. So if I had to guess, this will be somewhat some new stuff, somewhat the same old sound. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Nah, it's not a bad thing at all. Yeah. KW: Will it be a classic? I can't say all that because he's got such a a large catalog as well as a deck right as well as a decorated catalog. I don't see him putting out whack shit though. I don't see him. Futures seems pretty incapable of that. So I I'm interested. It'll be playing in the car tomorrow. It'll be playing tonight on the speakers. I'm I'm a tad bit worried. I'm a tad bit worried. We'll say that. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Robust. Yes. Nah. ⁓ don't be don't the hype is real about this album. I think it'll be I think it'll be something that it's gonna he I think he takes over the summer. I think that's his perfect planning timing is to take over the summer with his album. He does put come on, let's keep it real. He doesn't put out bad music. He just doesn't. Even if it isn't the hottest thing lyrically you ever heard, future is a vibe. That's what he's known for. Being a vibe. He's known for if you put him on. KW: Okay. Doesn't. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. JonBE aka DJ Chill: In the middle of a party, you can play him, and everybody's gonna go like this because it's not because it's because just the sound of it in totality. Sonically pleasing. I always say people don't know what they like, they like what they know. And he's able to speak to the ears in a tone that people like it because they know it, it's comfortable, but it's also can be fun. He'll have some witty things in there. And I think this is a turning point because he has had some things going on in the background. Where he's gonna maybe he'll speak on some some of those things with his brother, you know, with his with the kids, with the you know, and he's toxic. So he's gonna be he's gonna be throwing jabs out there because he he l he ain't afraid to pull a he's not gonna pull a punch. So I think it'll be a great listen. ⁓ do I know if it's gonna be classic? I don't know, but I definitely think he's gonna take over a summer with a with a couple of these tracks that are coming out here. I guess cause that's he's his the timing is perfect. KW: Build a bit. JonBE aka DJ Chill: There's nothing right now that is just killing it besides the Drake album, and I think that's starting to lose a little bit of his luster. KW: I I was actually just about to ask you. That's exactly what my next question was. I don't feel like I'm hearing as much Drake as it would normally seem. Like on even on social media, it seems like it's died out quite a bit since those first two weeks. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Yeah. Slowing down. That Janice was is probably still billboarding in top ten and STFU, but it doesn't have the steam behind it that it once had. I think this is gonna be that breath of fresh air that knocks people on their backside. And now you also said there was a Project Pat and Juicy J album dropping soon. That's now that right there is gonna be crazy. KW: I did see that, yeah. Yeah. I could give you I could give you. I mean, this is the page I usually look at every Friday to see what's releasing. So it might not be the full deck of what we get, but let me read it off to y'all. So we got so we got Future. This is all they got right now. Future the Real Me, as we know. Ken Carson, if y'all are into that, he's dropping an album tonight. Dahi and Childish Gambino running. So maybe we get some new Childish Gambino. I'm not familiar with Dahi. ⁓ JonBE aka DJ Chill: But it's coming, it's on the way. KW: J. Cole, the birthday freestyles he put out. He put that out on streaming now as an EP. ⁓ and then as John said, Juicy J and Project Pat, Dem Goats, the album. ⁓ yeah, that's gonna have some heat. That's gonna have some heat on it. Juicy J is like, yeah, yeah. Project Pat's a legend. Juicy J quietly has like been putting out nothing but heat over the last several years. Like post-3-6 Mafia, like he's still just putting out heat. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Nice. That's gonna be good. That might be a ⁓ my God. I love Project Pat. Decade. T two decades. Two decades. KW: And you know, like like you said, Project Pacman, I mean that's shouts to Memphis. Shouts to Memphis. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Come on man. Memphis best. All right. We had ⁓ we're gonna we're gonna say that. We're gonna wrap it up. We're gonna get up out of here. You got anything else you wanna sti speak to the chat about, and speak to the crowd about?
