- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome back to artists on artists on artists on artists. Boy,
- 0:03Speaker 1: do we have a panel for you.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Today, Mystry's Screenwriting Expert panel of new voices in Hollywood.
- 0:08Speaker 3: Costumes are character.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Buck Mary kil wide shot, two shot, close up.
- 0:13Speaker 1: This is artist on artists.
- 0:15Speaker 2: On artists on artists.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Do you know why they call it show business? I
- 0:19Speaker 1: always wondered that. Welcome back to artists on artists on
- 0:26Speaker 1: artists on artists. This week, it's a bird, it's a plane,
- 0:30Speaker 1: It's Halloween.
- 0:32Speaker 3: Hollywood is dominated by one company, and that company is
- 0:36Speaker 3: Marvel Studios.
- 0:37Speaker 2: But what if I told you Marvel was releasing a
- 0:40Speaker 2: Halloween movie based on a popular character that graced the
- 0:45Speaker 2: pages of their comic books for forty five years. Well,
- 0:49Speaker 2: if I told you that, I'd be lying because their
- 0:52Speaker 2: show and movie, Jack o Lantman, was canceled. We sat
- 0:57Speaker 2: down with the creators, developers, and producers of Jack o'lant
- 1:01Speaker 2: Man the day after they found out the show was
- 1:03Speaker 2: canceled to figure out why we won't be seeing this
- 1:06Speaker 2: project anytime soon. Let's listen in.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Well, why don't we start by taking a breath?
- 1:14Speaker 4: Okay, just don't know why we decided to do this
- 1:17Speaker 4: fucking podcast at a time like this, you know, I
- 1:21Speaker 4: just don't know.
- 1:22Speaker 2: We agreed when we had a show.
- 1:25Speaker 3: And Libertha, our publicist, that this would be a good
- 1:30Speaker 3: idea to come get ahead of it, and I agree,
- 1:32Speaker 3: So I think we should stick with a plan.
- 1:34Speaker 1: Yeah, and I you know, I think we all thought
- 1:37Speaker 1: that this would be under much different circumstances. You know,
- 1:42Speaker 1: we agreed to sit down months ago to talk about, uh,
- 1:46Speaker 1: what was about to be a very successful Halloween blockbuster
- 1:50Speaker 1: superhero movie. Obviously that didn't happen.
- 1:54Speaker 2: Is Christ Jesus Christ didn't happen?
- 1:58Speaker 1: Okay, everything is clearly very raw right now. Right, We've
- 2:04Speaker 1: got emotions running high, and I understand that. Look, but
- 2:08Speaker 1: we gotta we gotta just power through you guys. Okay,
- 2:11Speaker 1: let's let's let's go around and say what we did
- 2:15Speaker 1: on the film and what maybe we would have done differently.
- 2:19Speaker 1: So my name is Bev Ryan. I am the writer
- 2:25Speaker 1: of the once greenlit Marvel movie jack O lant Man,
- 2:34Speaker 1: and would I have preferred this movie to be made,
- 2:37Speaker 1: Absolutely absolutely, But I guess what I would have done
- 2:42Speaker 1: differently is write a different movie entirely. Thank you.
- 2:49Speaker 2: My name is Connor Ryan. I am the co creator
- 2:53Speaker 2: and producer, and I have a story about credit on
- 2:56Speaker 2: jack o'lantman. And I am also the husband of the
- 3:00Speaker 2: bev Ryan here, who is the writer of this show
- 3:04Speaker 2: of Jack O Lantman. And I say show because it
- 3:07Speaker 2: was going to be obviously a movie, and then we
- 3:11Speaker 2: had secured the rights to a Disney Plus spinoff show
- 3:14Speaker 2: that was going to air next Halloween, so you know,
- 3:20Speaker 2: in a different world.
- 3:22Speaker 1: In a different world exactly.
- 3:25Speaker 2: And I'm just mad for my wife. I'm mostly mad
- 3:28Speaker 2: for my wife. I'm happy that we're still together. I
- 3:32Speaker 2: love you very much, baby, but I'm really mad for
- 3:34Speaker 2: my wife because this was my wife's big shot and
- 3:37Speaker 2: I'm just mad.
- 3:38Speaker 1: Listen, maybe I love you too. I love you too.
- 3:41Speaker 1: I love you too. And you know this will make
- 3:43Speaker 1: us stronger. Okay, don't worry about me. I can take
- 3:46Speaker 1: care of myself. Did I want this Halloween Marvel movie
- 3:50Speaker 1: to happen? Did I want it to go? Absolutely? Am
- 3:53Speaker 1: I devastated? Absolutely? But am I going to be okay?
- 3:57Speaker 4: Yes?
- 3:58Speaker 1: Yes, I'm going to be fine.
- 3:59Speaker 2: You're going to be fine, and I'm gonna be fine too.
- 4:01Speaker 2: We're gonna be fine together, and we're gonna move on
- 4:04Speaker 2: to something else. You know, one of those things we
- 4:06Speaker 2: said no to because we said notice so many things
- 4:08Speaker 2: when we were pinned down to the Marvel fucking beast.
- 4:11Speaker 4: When we were pinned down, we said not to so
- 4:13Speaker 4: many things.
- 4:15Speaker 2: I love you, baby, I love you.
- 4:16Speaker 1: I love your baby. I love your baby. It's gonna
- 4:18Speaker 1: be I love you baby, I love your baby.
- 4:21Speaker 2: You know, baby, Maybe I love you so much? Hey,
- 4:23Speaker 2: fuck you love you.
- 4:25Speaker 4: Hey. I'm Chris Donell and I shot uh Jack O'lantman.
- 4:32Speaker 4: I shot it up until the point of it being canceled.
- 4:37Speaker 4: I was the cinematographer and my wife did not work
- 4:41Speaker 4: on this project with me. Hello.
- 4:44Speaker 5: I'm Amanda Yachts and I am an executive producer of
- 4:49Speaker 5: at Marvel looked there for the last fifteen years.
- 4:55Speaker 3: I also don't have a spouse that worked on the film.
- 4:59Speaker 4: U thank you so yeah. Basically, the basic premise of
- 5:04Speaker 4: jack O Lampman was he's this man turned Jack o' lantern,
- 5:08Speaker 4: and you know, he has kind of powers. He's kind
- 5:12Speaker 4: of like, you know, a little bit of like a
- 5:16Speaker 4: little bit of a witch, a little bit of a
- 5:17Speaker 4: wizard type of power. He has the ability to throw pumpkins.
- 5:20Speaker 4: It was it was great, It was great. It was
- 5:24Speaker 4: a really good night. Yeah, so that's all I'll just
- 5:27Speaker 4: say there.
- 5:28Speaker 2: He was my favorite character growing up. He was my
- 5:31Speaker 2: absolute favorite. You know. He came out in nineteen sixty eight.
- 5:36Speaker 2: He was stan Lee's response to the Watergate scandal, which
- 5:45Speaker 2: was about to happen in about four years, and so
- 5:49Speaker 2: he just the corruption in Nixon and the idea that
- 5:54Speaker 2: you know, a liar with a light for a heart,
- 5:58Speaker 2: you know, fire for a heart that glows through his eyes,
- 6:01Speaker 2: the transparency of an evil being, and the redemption of
- 6:06Speaker 2: you know, I'm this Jack O'Lantern now and I'm not
- 6:08Speaker 2: going to let it destroy me.
- 6:10Speaker 4: And people forget that.
- 6:12Speaker 2: He showed up in all sorts of you know panels
- 6:16Speaker 2: over the years. Oh incredible. Bev and I have all
- 6:21Speaker 2: of our favorite favorite panels framed in the vestibule of
- 6:26Speaker 2: our house.
- 6:28Speaker 4: He showed up and yeah, he showed up in Thor
- 6:30Speaker 4: where Thor tries to save Halloween and needs Jack O
- 6:33Speaker 4: lant Man's help. Yeah, he shows up and iron Man
- 6:37Speaker 4: when iron Man tries to save Halloween and needs jack
- 6:39Speaker 4: lat Man's help.
- 6:40Speaker 2: He shows up in Hulk and he and Hulk actually
- 6:43Speaker 2: smashes his head and that's the last time we saw him.
- 6:45Speaker 2: He dies.
- 6:46Speaker 4: We think that was yeah, that's his death. Of course.
- 6:49Speaker 1: Sixties Batman, he was brought to a Halloween party by
- 6:53Speaker 1: Robin and Batman. You know, there was this famous scene
- 6:57Speaker 1: where he threw out jack O lant Man, not knowing
- 7:00Speaker 1: that he was a superhero and they wouldn't know for
- 7:03Speaker 1: a long time.
- 7:03Speaker 4: And it was such a cool, great because it was
- 7:05Speaker 4: an absolute crossover of DC and Marvel. Just you don't
- 7:08Speaker 4: see that, don't see it the lamp. But for Halloween,
- 7:10Speaker 4: they wanted to do it. They wanted to.
- 7:12Speaker 3: I'll say, I'd love to step in here when we said.
- 7:15Speaker 2: She loved to step in all the time, don't you, Amanda,
- 7:17Speaker 2: go ahead, you love step Okay, okay.
- 7:19Speaker 1: Connor, Connor, Connor baby, Connor baby, breathe, Connor, baby, breathe
- 7:25Speaker 1: for me, Connor baby, breathe baby.
- 7:28Speaker 2: The calls coming from into the house, baby, don't you
- 7:30Speaker 2: see like it's it's the mouse. The rep from the
- 7:33Speaker 2: mouse is here. Like I can't believe she showed her face.
- 7:35Speaker 1: It's my We can't we can't talk about the mouse
- 7:37Speaker 1: when the mouse is in the room. Okay, Connor, we
- 7:39Speaker 1: cannot talk about the mouse that way. We have to
- 7:41Speaker 1: talk about them respectfully. Okay, Baby, the mouse eat my cheese.
- 7:44Speaker 2: Baby, Baby, the mouse eats my cheese. The mouse eats
- 7:47Speaker 2: my cheese.
- 7:47Speaker 4: Baby, Amanda, what were you going to say?
- 7:49Speaker 1: Amanda? I would love to hear your thoughts.
- 7:51Speaker 3: Thank you, thank you so much. I appreciate that, and
- 7:53Speaker 3: I just want to be I this is hard for
- 7:56Speaker 3: me too, because I read the script and I was
- 8:00Speaker 3: in those meetings. Then sure I green lit this for
- 8:03Speaker 3: a while, right, And let me be clear, I don't
- 8:07Speaker 3: want to be missing represented here. Did I say I'd
- 8:11Speaker 3: like to see what you can come up with?
- 8:13Speaker 2: Yes?
- 8:13Speaker 3: Did I say let's do it? No?
- 8:16Speaker 1: Well, I kind of wish we had, Amanda. Not to
- 8:20Speaker 1: disrespect you, I kind of do wish we had known
- 8:23Speaker 1: that after shooting for four months or so?
- 8:28Speaker 2: Would you say, was.
- 8:29Speaker 1: That how much?
- 8:30Speaker 2: Yeah? Principal photography was three months, and then we spent
- 8:33Speaker 2: a month of reshoots that you greenlit as well.
- 8:36Speaker 3: Now with Marvel, I want to be clear, we have many,
- 8:39Speaker 3: many movies being filmed. Do I watch the dailies?
- 8:44Speaker 4: No?
- 8:46Speaker 3: Does my assistant watch the dailies?
- 8:48Speaker 4: No?
- 8:48Speaker 3: Does my assistant's assistant watch the dailies. Yes, we have.
- 8:53Speaker 3: Currently we have six films shooting in New Zealand. I
- 8:56Speaker 3: couldn't remember which one was coming from where. So I
- 9:00Speaker 3: do think a little bit of compassion comes through. And
- 9:02Speaker 3: let me tell you, we have canceled a lot of
- 9:04Speaker 3: movies and I I really want you to hear that. Connor,
- 9:07Speaker 3: and I know you've been in the business a lot,
- 9:09Speaker 3: and I know this isn't new to you because that
- 9:12Speaker 3: we've all we're all veterans here, so we've all known
- 9:16Speaker 3: that movies sometimes stay on the editing room floor. So
- 9:21Speaker 3: this is this. We did this. It's just it's just
- 9:25Speaker 3: with Valentine's Day men. And let me say tay Leone
- 9:28Speaker 3: got cut out completely. Her role got cut completely.
- 9:31Speaker 4: What was her role?
- 9:33Speaker 3: She was the heart woman, the woman of the hearts.
- 9:37Speaker 4: The legendary art woman of the hearts.
- 9:40Speaker 1: Yeah, and that's honestly. That movie gave us inspiration that this,
- 9:44Speaker 1: something like this could be possible, right. I mean Valentine's
- 9:48Speaker 1: Day Man made me believe in holiday themed Marvel movies
- 9:52Speaker 1: in a way that you know, when I was a
- 9:54Speaker 1: little girl, and this was the movie I wanted to
- 9:57Speaker 1: make ever since I was a kid. I thought, you know,
- 10:00Speaker 1: I love Halloween, and what better genre to support that
- 10:06Speaker 1: and to enrich that then the Marvel Superhero cinematic universe.
- 10:10Speaker 3: I agreed as well. I agreed as well at the time.
- 10:14Speaker 4: I agree, Yeah, so let's get into it. Then, I'm
- 10:17Speaker 4: just you know, I'm sitting over here, I'm the cinematographer,
- 10:20Speaker 4: and I'm brought in early. But I'm usually a yes man.
- 10:24Speaker 4: I'm usually a yes man, and I guess usually what
- 10:28Speaker 4: does that mean?
- 10:30Speaker 2: Let's just say there were some yes. Is I needed
- 10:32Speaker 2: from you?
- 10:33Speaker 3: Will you pull him again? Please?
- 10:36Speaker 4: Yes?
- 10:36Speaker 2: What are you gonna do it?
- 10:37Speaker 6: Oh?
- 10:37Speaker 2: Do I need to be handled? Do I need to
- 10:39Speaker 2: be handled?
- 10:40Speaker 4: I need to say yes to everything you wanted. A
- 10:43Speaker 4: pumpkin fucking another pumpkin. That's just not going to work
- 10:46Speaker 4: in a Marvel movie. How do the pumpkins get made?
- 10:49Speaker 4: They're grown?
- 10:50Speaker 1: I think, I think, well, let's just let's just reel
- 10:53Speaker 1: it in for a second. Let's just I would say,
- 10:58Speaker 1: had some artistic differences on sex being portrayed in a
- 11:03Speaker 1: Marvel movie. I would say, ultimately, it doesn't happen right,
- 11:07Speaker 1: but we have a lot of fun.
- 11:08Speaker 3: That's where it starts. For me, Conna. That's where this begins.
- 11:12Speaker 3: We have a brand, we have a we just have
- 11:15Speaker 3: an aesthetic. But I love the way you write character.
- 11:19Speaker 3: I love the way you write law. I love I
- 11:22Speaker 3: love the the and he just got a story by
- 11:25Speaker 3: Yeah I did? Oh god, why did I agree to this?
- 11:29Speaker 2: No?
- 11:29Speaker 4: Look look, look, look I know that I know what
- 11:32Speaker 4: I'm doing. I know that I know what I'm.
- 11:34Speaker 2: Doing, and I know you know what I'm doing, Amanda. Okay,
- 11:37Speaker 2: I know that. Okay, but the thing is you yank
- 11:41Speaker 2: me for so long and then you don't let me finish.
- 11:44Speaker 2: That's what happens every single time I work for Marvel,
- 11:46Speaker 2: and I'm not doing it again. I'm not doing it again.
- 11:50Speaker 4: You guys are connor.
- 11:51Speaker 1: They have made it very clear that we are not
- 11:53Speaker 1: welcome back.
- 11:54Speaker 2: Really.
- 11:55Speaker 1: Yeah, well that's just what's happening. And it's okay. You know,
- 11:58Speaker 1: we're all adults here.
- 12:00Speaker 2: It's okay. It's better because I never want to be back.
- 12:02Speaker 2: I never want to be back of this.
- 12:03Speaker 4: Okay.
- 12:04Speaker 1: Well, let's just I would like personally to leave the
- 12:08Speaker 1: door open, you know I am. I'm always willing to
- 12:12Speaker 1: start this dialogue again anytime that you guys are willing
- 12:16Speaker 1: to open that door for us, and I will open
- 12:18Speaker 1: that door for you.
- 12:19Speaker 3: And Bev, I loved that you stood with me when
- 12:22Speaker 3: I I'm sure I didn't watch any of the dailies
- 12:25Speaker 3: for four months, but there were parts in the script
- 12:27Speaker 3: that I said, you can fly to New Zealand. Here,
- 12:31Speaker 3: here's eighty million dollars for three units, three camera units,
- 12:35Speaker 3: but don't shoot that scene. I don't want that scene
- 12:38Speaker 3: in all movie. And you winked at me and said,
- 12:41Speaker 3: I got it.
- 12:43Speaker 2: I mean, can I just be very clear with you?
- 12:45Speaker 2: Do you understand that the way you operate is not
- 12:47Speaker 2: in any sort of practical realm. You do not you
- 12:50Speaker 2: do not operate on a let's do it, let's not
- 12:53Speaker 2: do it. You know, you're kind of a shitter, get
- 12:56Speaker 2: off the pot kind of person, but you're standing on
- 12:57Speaker 2: the bowl.
- 12:58Speaker 3: What you just described to me is Hollywood.
- 13:03Speaker 1: Okay, And Amanda, that is so valid, That is so valid.
- 13:07Speaker 3: That sounded like the definition of the city and the
- 13:10Speaker 3: definition of our industry.
- 13:11Speaker 4: She's got you there. Yeah.
- 13:13Speaker 3: Sometimes we flander and we scoundrel. Yeah, and we swim
- 13:19Speaker 3: and we sink or we swim and then sometimes we
- 13:22Speaker 3: get nailed on a cross for the choice we made.
- 13:26Speaker 2: But do you have to be that way? Amanda? You
- 13:29Speaker 2: could be the change right if you started speaking honestly
- 13:32Speaker 2: to the people you're working with, if you started being
- 13:34Speaker 2: creatively open, you could be the person that changes this industry.
- 13:38Speaker 2: Because where we're coming from from as a creative point
- 13:41Speaker 2: of view, we just need people who are going to
- 13:43Speaker 2: give us to go and are going to tell.
- 13:45Speaker 4: Us exactly what we need to do to succeed. Can
- 13:49Speaker 4: I just you can? I'm so sorry. I just didn't
- 13:52Speaker 4: like when you said people get nailed on the cross
- 13:54Speaker 4: for their choices. You know, my religious beliefs. You know,
- 13:57Speaker 4: I don't appreciate that. I'm a very chill guy. And
- 14:00Speaker 4: yes there are a lot of problems, but do not
- 14:02Speaker 4: bring up my lord. Thank you, Okay, thank you.
- 14:05Speaker 3: I just want to say this is why I don't
- 14:06Speaker 3: like to talk to the creatives. I am a business woman.
- 14:11Speaker 3: I went to Stanford. I I don't understand the feelings
- 14:16Speaker 3: I'm walking on. At the end of the day, I
- 14:19Speaker 3: get money back, I get reports back about box offices
- 14:23Speaker 3: and numbers, and I work that way. It's not a
- 14:26Speaker 3: creative thing. Well, it's not a religious thing. I don't
- 14:29Speaker 3: care who you worship. I don't care how you have sex.
- 14:32Speaker 3: I care about the money and the dollars and the
- 14:35Speaker 3: foreign dollars. I care about what these what these are
- 14:39Speaker 3: box office means internationally, and this was.
- 14:42Speaker 4: This will make money. Halloween is the number one holiday
- 14:45Speaker 4: in the whole world.
- 14:47Speaker 3: I don't have a problem with Halloween, Connor. I have
- 14:49Speaker 3: a problem with the in depth sex scene at the
- 14:52Speaker 3: top of Act two.
- 14:54Speaker 4: It's not sex if they're pumpkins.
- 14:57Speaker 2: I'm telling you, guys, let's.
- 14:58Speaker 4: Talk about that scene really quick, because just as a
- 15:00Speaker 4: shooting perspective for me, it was confusing because it's really
- 15:05Speaker 4: the it's it's very interesting because it's Act two. He's
- 15:08Speaker 4: just really leaning into his powers. He goes to a
- 15:11Speaker 4: pumpkin patch and he's looking around. He's got his pumpkin
- 15:14Speaker 4: head on with his cute little blazer. Signist Jack lantern,
- 15:19Speaker 4: just signist Jack lantern.
- 15:20Speaker 1: And can I say, Michael Sarah, I mean, he worked
- 15:24Speaker 1: so character.
- 15:25Speaker 2: This was going to put him on the map.
- 15:28Speaker 3: This is somebody on the map, Connor. Don't disrespect him
- 15:31Speaker 3: that way.
- 15:31Speaker 1: So shame that people won't see this because he's huge.
- 15:34Speaker 2: Now people were finally gonna like Michael Sarah.
- 15:37Speaker 1: After Michael Sarah is physically large.
- 15:40Speaker 4: He gained a ton of weight, much weight for this role.
- 15:44Speaker 4: Bulked up and beefed up. He beats up and ACKed
- 15:48Speaker 4: and he's three hundred pounds.
- 15:49Speaker 2: He did something that I've never seen. He beefed his
- 15:52Speaker 2: head up in a way that I've never seen. He
- 15:55Speaker 2: has what they.
- 15:55Speaker 1: Call a quarterback jawline. Now, yeah, well that's all large necks.
- 16:01Speaker 4: We have an.
- 16:02Speaker 3: Incredible an incredible uh A group of trainers on staff
- 16:08Speaker 3: and we this was the movie. We first we tried
- 16:10Speaker 3: out hiring the the heads uh trainer who builds the
- 16:15Speaker 3: head to be larger, because we got a lot of
- 16:18Speaker 3: people saying they didn't like Benedict Cumberbatch.
- 16:23Speaker 4: It's too small of a head.
- 16:24Speaker 2: Just movie, let's talk about it.
- 16:27Speaker 4: Yeah, doctor Strange. Doctor Strange had a bigger head in
- 16:30Speaker 4: the comics. He had a bigger head and it just
- 16:32Speaker 4: wasn't believable how small at he was.
- 16:34Speaker 2: It wasn't But let's go back to Yeah, it was
- 16:36Speaker 2: like a marshmallow on a boulder. It was freaky.
- 16:38Speaker 3: It was such a marshmallow on a boulder. I can
- 16:40Speaker 3: agree with you there, Connor, and I also say this,
- 16:42Speaker 3: you mentioned something very interesting, Chris, where you said the comics,
- 16:47Speaker 3: and that's where I go back to that. All movies
- 16:50Speaker 3: go back to the comics. And this is a comic
- 16:54Speaker 3: from a TV guide that was in the back.
- 16:58Speaker 4: Let's get it. Counts owns that TV guide, so it counts.
- 17:01Speaker 3: No, it does. But those fans aren't ready to see
- 17:05Speaker 3: this because they don't know what that comic was.
- 17:08Speaker 1: And to be fair, Amanda, I will say Devil's Advocate
- 17:12Speaker 1: on our part, there aren't any superheroes left for us.
- 17:18Speaker 4: Just to point that out everybody, I.
- 17:22Speaker 1: Would just say, we have gone through and we've found
- 17:25Speaker 1: every superhero and you guys have done it, and props
- 17:28Speaker 1: to you, but you know, we are working with what
- 17:32Speaker 1: we've got.
- 17:32Speaker 4: Here, you know.
- 17:34Speaker 2: Yes. The thing is, was it kind of a mad
- 17:36Speaker 2: TV style parody that Stanley was doing where he was
- 17:40Speaker 2: nodding to it, and it was two panels and they
- 17:42Speaker 2: look like family circus characters and one of them was
- 17:45Speaker 2: a pumpkin, and then one of the superheroes would come
- 17:48Speaker 2: in at the end, be it Batman or at the
- 17:50Speaker 2: Hulk and then do something funky to that pumpkin. Yeah,
- 17:52Speaker 2: that is what it was, Okay, But I grew up
- 17:55Speaker 2: on that. We didn't have a lot of other stuff
- 17:56Speaker 2: in my house when I was growing up, Amanda, we
- 17:58Speaker 2: had the TV Guide and we had a stick that
- 18:02Speaker 2: you would try to get stuck in a can, and
- 18:06Speaker 2: that was a game that we played outside.
- 18:08Speaker 4: That makes sense now, why you really wanted that stick
- 18:10Speaker 4: in a can scene? Yeah, makes sense, you.
- 18:12Speaker 1: Really push That was my very personal to.
- 18:15Speaker 2: That was my creator. That was my creator. Cameo, right,
- 18:18Speaker 2: I was going to be we pay past man playing.
- 18:21Speaker 4: Can, child playing stick and you were not pulling off
- 18:24Speaker 4: that makeup because, let's be honest, I.
- 18:26Speaker 2: Was pulling off the overalls. And you know that the
- 18:28Speaker 2: sex scene.
- 18:29Speaker 4: Let's be honest, the sex scene was not the only
- 18:31Speaker 4: reason this film got canceled.
- 18:33Speaker 3: Oh, Chris, I'd love to hear your opinion. I'd love
- 18:34Speaker 3: to hear it, because, well, it.
- 18:35Speaker 4: Was a nightmare for the DP standard. It's a nightmare.
- 18:39Speaker 4: We couldn't even get half of the shots you wanted.
- 18:42Speaker 4: You wanted to shoot through a pumpkin, multiple times, through
- 18:46Speaker 4: a pumpkin, you can't go through physical objects. You can
- 18:49Speaker 4: do it three D and and with some you know,
- 18:52Speaker 4: special effects, but that costs so much. And almost every
- 18:55Speaker 4: shot was through a pumpkin.
- 18:56Speaker 3: And we also, I said, we have maybe I think
- 19:00Speaker 3: two thousand special effects people and visual effects people on staff.
- 19:04Speaker 3: And you said, no, you wanted to go through the pumpkin.
- 19:07Speaker 4: Yeah, well, well we would.
- 19:09Speaker 1: I wrote this. I would say, with the Pumpkins POV
- 19:13Speaker 1: in mind, right, I don't think that any of the
- 19:17Speaker 1: I don't think that any of the scenes makes sense
- 19:20Speaker 1: if you view them through a standard camera and not
- 19:23Speaker 1: two little triangles and a big mouth.
- 19:25Speaker 4: It was just confusing though, because when you jumped over
- 19:28Speaker 4: the other shoulder and you're looking at jack O Lanpman,
- 19:30Speaker 4: you're not in a pumpkin. You're not because it's a
- 19:32Speaker 4: neural people. But for some reason, when you jump back
- 19:35Speaker 4: POV jack O Lampman's face covering most of the lens,
- 19:38Speaker 4: you can only see, you know, a triangle or too
- 19:41Speaker 4: much of space.
- 19:43Speaker 1: Well, and Chris, Chris, if I may, that's because that's
- 19:46Speaker 1: what pumpkins see right in their everyday lives. That's all
- 19:50Speaker 1: they can see. And I think it would be artistically
- 19:52Speaker 1: dishonest to deny the pumpkins point of view. I just
- 19:56Speaker 1: don't want to about pumpkins. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, my dad, I'm.
- 19:59Speaker 2: Sorry, and my dad ran to church. I'm sorry, Chris,
- 20:04Speaker 2: I advise you to stay in your lane against my wife. Okay,
- 20:07Speaker 2: i'd advise you to stay out of fighting with my wife.
- 20:12Speaker 4: Chris.
- 20:12Speaker 3: They'll do this and then they'll baby each other to sleep.
- 20:15Speaker 2: I just want to one thing.
- 20:16Speaker 3: Oh really, Oh really?
- 20:19Speaker 2: Is that really what we're gonna do.
- 20:21Speaker 4: I just want to say one thing. I just want
- 20:22Speaker 4: to say one thing.
- 20:24Speaker 7: Okay, I'm just I would just no say it, Chris, say,
- 20:32Speaker 7: if you were a pumpkin, you wouldn't see the inside
- 20:35Speaker 7: of your head.
- 20:37Speaker 4: You'd see through your eyeholes. Jack old Man's head was
- 20:42Speaker 4: a pumpkin. It was not a human head inside of
- 20:44Speaker 4: a pumpkin. It was a pumpkin.
- 20:46Speaker 2: Okay, Well, now.
- 20:47Speaker 1: Here we get into a theological debate, right.
- 20:52Speaker 4: His head was a pumpkin.
- 20:55Speaker 1: Get that, okay, okay, okay, But is the pumpkin Here's
- 20:59Speaker 1: my question. Is the jack o lantern the candle inside
- 21:03Speaker 1: the pumpkin? Is that what's seeing.
- 21:05Speaker 2: Or the Chris buddy screaming my wife one more time?
- 21:13Speaker 2: You don't get coffee in your face. See you don't
- 21:16Speaker 2: get how your face.
- 21:17Speaker 4: Don't see the inside of your head because you don't
- 21:19Speaker 4: see through.
- 21:20Speaker 2: Your ow ow ow ow ow.
- 21:24Speaker 1: Okay, maybe baby, baby baby, I love you, baby, I
- 21:28Speaker 1: love you, baby, I love you. Oh gosh, okay, let's recenter.
- 21:33Speaker 3: I'm going to be removed for safety reasons because.
- 21:36Speaker 2: You're going to say, right here, I have to ask
- 21:38Speaker 2: you a question.
- 21:41Speaker 4: And this is the question I think he's been wanting
- 21:43Speaker 4: to ask a long time. It deals with another thing,
- 21:45Speaker 4: another reason why we almost almost made it to the
- 21:49Speaker 4: finish line but didn't. This is the one thing Connor
- 21:52Speaker 4: and I agreed.
- 21:52Speaker 2: On, Amanda. The reason of all the things, O God,
- 21:59Speaker 2: the reason you told us yesterday why we got canceled
- 22:03Speaker 2: and why we got shut down, and this is no
- 22:06Speaker 2: more is that Jack O Lanpman is too close to
- 22:10Speaker 2: ant Man and audiences wouldn't understand.
- 22:16Speaker 4: They would think it's a Halloween special of ant Man.
- 22:19Speaker 3: Listen, can he can I say this?
- 22:22Speaker 2: Well, let me just ask the questions, let me talk
- 22:23Speaker 2: to let me just ask the question. I've talked to
- 22:26Speaker 2: your assistant already and she knows it. The question is
- 22:30Speaker 2: do you think we're fucking babies?
- 22:34Speaker 4: Not the question I was gonna ask. I thought you
- 22:37Speaker 4: were going to ask a different question.
- 22:38Speaker 3: A right, I didn't want to talk Chris wanted to
- 22:40Speaker 3: be asked this.
- 22:41Speaker 4: I didn't want you to ask that question.
- 22:42Speaker 2: Chris wanted to know if you think we're fucking babies,
- 22:45Speaker 2: and if you think the audience is fucking babies. Who
- 22:47Speaker 2: wouldn't understand that the word aunt can be in other
- 22:49Speaker 2: sentences other than just the word ant?
- 22:52Speaker 3: Eric, Are you done?
- 22:54Speaker 1: He's done? Yeah?
- 22:55Speaker 3: Thank you?
- 22:56Speaker 4: Bad?
- 22:56Speaker 2: Yes? Baby? This baby say isn't done? And I'm done?
- 22:58Speaker 3: Okay, all right, let me all right. I didn't want
- 23:03Speaker 3: this for your sake on a public forum. I didn't
- 23:08Speaker 3: want to be traced back. I wanted to tell you
- 23:10Speaker 3: this in passing when I halted production. I wanted to
- 23:12Speaker 3: say this, and I didn't want to bring it to
- 23:14Speaker 3: a publication. Well, no, I work best when I walk.
- 23:25Speaker 1: I will say, you've done this a lot where you
- 23:27Speaker 1: have delivered parts of bad news as you're just walking
- 23:31Speaker 1: by me.
- 23:31Speaker 4: No, it's what we do.
- 23:33Speaker 3: It's what the Brits do. We don't sit and talk.
- 23:36Speaker 2: We move.
- 23:37Speaker 4: Okay, do you move on?
- 23:39Speaker 1: When you said we're slashing the budget by five million,
- 23:42Speaker 1: and you just you just kept walking and I said
- 23:44Speaker 1: do you want to talk about this? And then you
- 23:46Speaker 1: were already gone.
- 23:47Speaker 3: All right, Well, Listen, I said this.
- 23:48Speaker 2: We're firing Shannon Sweeney passed by Paul.
- 23:52Speaker 1: Rudd did not agree to the pameo passed by Stanley
- 23:57Speaker 1: is dead.
- 23:58Speaker 3: Passed by You got more let me him.
- 24:00Speaker 2: Come on, we're moving you from New Zealand to Riverside.
- 24:02Speaker 2: Pass By.
- 24:05Speaker 4: We've cut your camera team down to two people. One
- 24:08Speaker 4: of them is non union.
- 24:09Speaker 1: Passed by Michael Sarah's nack got too big for his
- 24:13Speaker 1: head and now he has to go to the hospital
- 24:15Speaker 1: and to shut down for three days. Pass By.
- 24:18Speaker 3: Well, I'm sorry, I walk and talk, but I'll say this.
- 24:24Speaker 3: I did mutter a very important final note and why
- 24:29Speaker 3: I was halting production about this in passing and not
- 24:32Speaker 3: in an email or written or tell the press about this,
- 24:35Speaker 3: because I don't want people to know that you guys
- 24:38Speaker 3: wrote something so similar to at Men Relate. Take out
- 24:41Speaker 3: the sixty nine scene and the POV of the pumpkin,
- 24:47Speaker 3: and it is almost directly at Men, and you didn't
- 24:50Speaker 3: even bother change changing the character's name. Far from it.
- 24:55Speaker 1: Listen, Is this a story about someone who was forced
- 24:59Speaker 1: out of their own company of recruiting the talents of
- 25:02Speaker 1: Scott Lang, a master thief just released from prison Lang
- 25:06Speaker 1: becomes ant man, trained by prim and armed with a
- 25:08Speaker 1: suit that allows him to shrink in size, possess superhero
- 25:11Speaker 1: and strength, and control an army of ants. The miniature
- 25:14Speaker 1: hero must now use his skills to prevent Cross, also
- 25:16Speaker 1: known as Yellowjacket, from perfecting the same technology and using
- 25:19Speaker 1: it as a weapon for evil, except with Pumpkins.
- 25:22Speaker 4: Sure that, yeah, Now, when you say it like that,
- 25:25Speaker 4: I'm seeing all the similarities. The main character was Pumpkin Lang,
- 25:30Speaker 4: the villain, villain, the villain, Yellow Squash. It's kind of.
- 25:36Speaker 1: About the soul. It's about the soul of it. Every
- 25:40Speaker 1: story has been told a bunch of times. Right, Even
- 25:42Speaker 1: Shakespeare was stealing from whoever came before.
- 25:46Speaker 2: Him, right, christerpher Marlow. Listen the thing about it that
- 25:50Speaker 2: really rides my fucking nuts on this?
- 25:54Speaker 4: Okay, Amanda, tell me what I.
- 25:56Speaker 3: Do that rides your nuts?
- 25:57Speaker 2: Conna for you to tell me that our Marvel movie
- 26:01Speaker 2: is it original enough? Is bunkers? You guys are the
- 26:04Speaker 2: same formula every single movie for the past fifteen years.
- 26:08Speaker 3: Let we replace things, We replace things you used ants,
- 26:12Speaker 3: at least replace the ants with something else.
- 26:15Speaker 1: Well, Amanda, let me po this, Let me positive this
- 26:18Speaker 1: ants are scary antswer Halloween?
- 26:21Speaker 2: Okay, answer scary to pumpkins. If you can ants in
- 26:23Speaker 2: your pumpkin, you're throwing it out.
- 26:28Speaker 1: If you know anything about pumpkins, it's the is that
- 26:33Speaker 1: ants are a signal that the pumpkin is over. Okay,
- 26:36Speaker 1: that the pumpkin is dead. A pumpkin's number one enemy
- 26:40Speaker 1: are ants and flies. And we already know that flies
- 26:44Speaker 1: do not test well with Americans.
- 26:46Speaker 2: And molds, and we were gonna explore molds in the series,
- 26:48Speaker 2: which you're not gonna let us do.
- 26:50Speaker 1: Okay, let's just let's just recenter because I would love
- 26:55Speaker 1: to come at this from a place of compassion. This
- 26:57Speaker 1: is a business transaction, you know, this is nothing personal.
- 27:01Speaker 1: I love and respect everyone on this team. Amanda. Would
- 27:05Speaker 1: you just walk us through what you were getting from Marvel,
- 27:11Speaker 1: like when you got the know. I would just love.
- 27:13Speaker 4: To know, you know, like what anything I did?
- 27:18Speaker 3: No, Chris, No, So Chris.
- 27:21Speaker 2: I do want to say, Chris, you did a great job,
- 27:25Speaker 2: incredible artist, you did a great job. And I am
- 27:27Speaker 2: sorry I slapped you about ten minutes ago to just
- 27:30Speaker 2: apologize that mean threw me around the room.
- 27:32Speaker 3: And I'm sorry, I say blasphemy things in front of
- 27:34Speaker 3: you constantly on accident.
- 27:36Speaker 4: Is love, God is Lord, He forgives. Just accept them?
- 27:39Speaker 3: Sure? Sure, all right? Well, thank you BEV for recognizing
- 27:43Speaker 3: that I am a middleman here. I I work with
- 27:46Speaker 3: the investors, I work with uh, the a big group
- 27:51Speaker 3: of people. It's not just me. A lot of people
- 27:53Speaker 3: villainize me because I happened to be the producer that
- 27:56Speaker 3: comes in and pulls the rug out from under productions
- 27:59Speaker 3: and halts them. Do you think that's a fun job?
- 28:02Speaker 2: Do you think you love it?
- 28:04Speaker 1: No?
- 28:04Speaker 3: I don't, all right. I don't have any friends. I
- 28:09Speaker 3: haven't fucked someone since nineteen oh three.
- 28:13Speaker 4: Amanda, that's got a phrase.
- 28:19Speaker 3: That's a phrase in London.
- 28:22Speaker 1: Do you you say that?
- 28:24Speaker 2: No? No, what are you talking about?
- 28:26Speaker 8: I just go.
- 28:29Speaker 2: A man, let's talk about it. I found your hand
- 28:32Speaker 2: lying on the ground once and I brought it to you,
- 28:35Speaker 2: and you plopped it back on your your your arm,
- 28:38Speaker 2: and you acted like it was no big deal.
- 28:40Speaker 4: You just said it was stress, stress related.
- 28:43Speaker 1: I'm a ghost.
- 28:47Speaker 4: Fuck you couldn't even get a Really do you mean.
- 28:50Speaker 1: That literally or do you mean that figuratively? Are you
- 28:54Speaker 1: like a ghost of your former self or are are
- 28:57Speaker 1: you deceased, Amanda?
- 28:58Speaker 2: Because I held that real hand, I know.
- 29:00Speaker 3: Just a ghost.
- 29:04Speaker 4: Oh.
- 29:05Speaker 6: I have been working in Hollywood for over thirty thousand years,
- 29:11Speaker 6: and I can't die. I keep coming back and going
- 29:16Speaker 6: back into post production.
- 29:19Speaker 3: I will never leave post production.
- 29:21Speaker 4: As much as I want to explore Hollywood, being around
- 29:24Speaker 4: for thirty thousand years, being a part of it, I
- 29:27Speaker 4: just want to really just cement why we didn't get
- 29:29Speaker 4: picked up and why Marvel wasn't happy with it.
- 29:32Speaker 2: Yeah sounds like a crazy story, man, but we're here
- 29:34Speaker 2: to talk about Jack o'lant man, and we'd rather focus
- 29:38Speaker 2: on that.
- 29:39Speaker 4: We're running out of time, and I just love to
- 29:40Speaker 4: get back to this.
- 29:41Speaker 3: I'll say it was not enough. Yeah, we'll bring up
- 29:43Speaker 3: the focus group reports. I have all the focus group reports.
- 29:46Speaker 3: Of course we can.
- 29:47Speaker 4: We listen to listen to them.
- 29:49Speaker 3: I have them on MP three or I have it
- 29:52Speaker 3: on physical copies. Let's do the Let's do the MP three,
- 29:55Speaker 3: Let's play it.
- 29:55Speaker 2: That sounds good and click?
- 29:59Speaker 1: Okay, great. So the scene you just saw was Jack
- 30:02Speaker 1: o lant Man sort of saving jacquelant Man woman from
- 30:07Speaker 1: utter destruction. Now I'd love to go around the room
- 30:11Speaker 1: and just hold up a number one being I didn't
- 30:14Speaker 1: like it.
- 30:15Speaker 8: I didn't like it. I did what number is for,
- 30:18Speaker 8: I didn't like it.
- 30:19Speaker 1: Okay, so right if you if you feel less like
- 30:22Speaker 1: you like the film, that would be a one, and
- 30:24Speaker 1: if you love.
- 30:25Speaker 4: It is something lower than one because I didn't like it.
- 30:29Speaker 4: Jack O Lampman and jack O lant Woman terrible naming device,
- 30:34Speaker 4: completely unnecessary saving.
- 30:38Speaker 3: Yeah, where where are the movie stars? The only movie
- 30:41Speaker 3: star I got here was Michael stra and that is
- 30:44Speaker 3: not enough.
- 30:45Speaker 8: Frank, and he looked very unhealthy. The no amount of
- 30:49Speaker 8: makeup could hide the rings under his eyes.
- 30:53Speaker 1: I will say there is Catherine Hahn playing opposite him
- 30:56Speaker 1: as jack O lant Man Woman.
- 30:59Speaker 2: She was another.
- 31:01Speaker 4: Terrible I don't know who that is? When she the
- 31:05Speaker 4: one that was also in? Was she?
- 31:09Speaker 3: Yes?
- 31:10Speaker 1: I believe so.
- 31:11Speaker 2: Was she playing the same character from WandaVision in this one?
- 31:15Speaker 1: No, she was playing a pumpkin in this one?
- 31:17Speaker 4: Why you do that? What's your name? You seem pretty
- 31:21Speaker 4: smart at this Marvel stuff.
- 31:23Speaker 3: I think you're I think you're so pretty.
- 31:27Speaker 4: Not you? Not you? The other girl anyway, total nerd.
- 31:32Speaker 2: My name is Aurora, and I'm a little nerd.
- 31:37Speaker 1: I love your band our comments closer to the movie
- 31:41Speaker 1: at hand. Okay, I couldn't.
- 31:43Speaker 3: I couldn't keep my eyes open. Yes, I'm narcolectic, but
- 31:48Speaker 3: this was an awful fucking movie. I am have been
- 31:51Speaker 3: a part of the Marvel universe since I was twelve
- 31:54Speaker 3: years old. I go to every midnight showing and this
- 31:57Speaker 3: movie was dog shit.
- 31:59Speaker 1: Okay, okay, I hear it. You know what? Do you
- 32:01Speaker 1: know what, Amanda, I do hear it. Thank you for
- 32:03Speaker 1: letting us hear that.
- 32:04Speaker 4: Well.
- 32:05Speaker 3: Of course I didn't want to play that on a
- 32:06Speaker 3: public forum. Of course I didn't. It's brutal.
- 32:10Speaker 2: I wanted to hear more from the girl. Do you
- 32:14Speaker 2: have a photo of her?
- 32:16Speaker 4: Your wife is sitting right there?
- 32:18Speaker 3: Does that mean Connor?
- 32:20Speaker 4: She just seemed to like it kind of Well, that's
- 32:22Speaker 4: the reason why they Connor. Let's be honest. I love
- 32:26Speaker 4: to address that was a week.
- 32:27Speaker 2: That was a joke. I'm joking. I was weak.
- 32:28Speaker 3: I don't know there's another reason why we.
- 32:31Speaker 2: I'm just joking, baby, it's just your marriage was joking.
- 32:36Speaker 3: No, it wasn't the marriage problems. It was another thing.
- 32:39Speaker 3: It was the press junket. When Connor was at a
- 32:42Speaker 3: press junket and he said, this movie is for little girls.
- 32:46Speaker 4: I was, yeah, no, let's talky about that.
- 32:48Speaker 2: Look, they cut that out of context. I put two
- 32:53Speaker 2: descriptors together of every type of person, and I had
- 32:57Speaker 2: that go. And because I wanted to us, you know,
- 33:00Speaker 2: I said, this movie is for a little girls, this
- 33:02Speaker 2: movie is for little boys, This movie is for teenage girls,
- 33:04Speaker 2: This movie is for teenage boys. I was trying to
- 33:06Speaker 2: attract every single person that would come to this. This
- 33:08Speaker 2: movie is for black men, this movie is for black women,
- 33:11Speaker 2: this movie is for gay men, this movie is for
- 33:13Speaker 2: bisexual women.
- 33:14Speaker 3: That's not how marketing.
- 33:15Speaker 1: Little women, big mom, big women, small pleasants, short dads.
- 33:22Speaker 2: Big, big hatted babies. I said every single thing I
- 33:26Speaker 2: could because I knew that you could take it, like
- 33:28Speaker 2: you know, like late night shows always do different advertisements
- 33:31Speaker 2: for affiliates. I knew that you could just take that
- 33:34Speaker 2: and put it in the audience. I was saving you
- 33:36Speaker 2: the work.
- 33:37Speaker 4: I don't just I just saying it out loud. I
- 33:40Speaker 4: don't think it would work like that, But.
- 33:43Speaker 2: What do I never know? Will we We'll never know,
- 33:45Speaker 2: and you won't know, and I won't know either. Chris,
- 33:47Speaker 2: So I'd like to like Comanda's fault.
- 33:49Speaker 3: I'd like to use this remaining time. I have to
- 33:53Speaker 3: formally speak with you too, and maybe Chris, if we're looking,
- 34:00Speaker 3: we're looking, we're looking to.
- 34:04Speaker 4: I don't really know what I'm doing here, but I'm
- 34:06Speaker 4: happy to help.
- 34:07Speaker 2: I'm glad you're here, Chris, I am.
- 34:09Speaker 4: I just didn't realize everybody else is canceled. You guys,
- 34:12Speaker 4: you gotta get Michael, sayir, but he canceled, so you
- 34:14Speaker 4: called me? Is that what happened?
- 34:16Speaker 2: Michael was crying all day. Michael said he was doing
- 34:20Speaker 2: that on set.
- 34:21Speaker 4: He was doing Michael was.
- 34:24Speaker 1: Having a miserable time on this movie.
- 34:27Speaker 2: This gave him dysmorphia in a massive way. He doesn't
- 34:30Speaker 2: look at it. He doesn't recognize himself in the mirror anymore.
- 34:34Speaker 3: I don't either, because I'm a ghost. I'll say this, if.
- 34:39Speaker 4: We could just stay on track, Actually, thank you.
- 34:41Speaker 3: We'd love to hear what else you have, because we
- 34:43Speaker 3: are in the market for a new movie.
- 34:46Speaker 1: Okay, well, I don't know, yeah, but can we sidebar
- 34:51Speaker 1: for a moment?
- 34:52Speaker 2: Okay?
- 34:54Speaker 1: Should we talk Saint Patrick's day?
- 34:55Speaker 3: Thank god they learned to sidebar. They've been talking in
- 34:58Speaker 3: front of us and having side for years. And they
- 35:01Speaker 3: finally learned how to do it.
- 35:04Speaker 2: Baby. I can't believe we're getting another shot. I'm so excited.
- 35:07Speaker 1: I know, well, should we release the big guns?
- 35:09Speaker 4: Should? Should?
- 35:12Speaker 2: What about?
- 35:14Speaker 4: Can I just jump up? Thank you guys so much
- 35:16Speaker 4: for including me in the sidebar.
- 35:18Speaker 1: He's not ready.
- 35:19Speaker 2: We haven't flushed that out yet, Baby, Baby, Baby, I
- 35:21Speaker 2: just want to talk to you real quick because I
- 35:23Speaker 2: don't want to ruin our relationship for these movies, these
- 35:29Speaker 2: white whales. I feel like maybe we don't do anything.
- 35:34Speaker 2: You know, I've been talking a lot of ship to them.
- 35:36Speaker 2: This feels like a trap from this ghost.
- 35:38Speaker 1: It feels like, Baby, you don't you don't mean walking away,
- 35:42Speaker 1: you don't mean turning down Marvel? Do you cically insane?
- 35:46Speaker 2: Listen. You can make the choice for yourself. But what
- 35:49Speaker 2: I'm gonna say right now is either you can say
- 35:52Speaker 2: yes and you can pitch one of our twenty five
- 35:55Speaker 2: holiday related ideas that we have in our shared notes
- 35:58Speaker 2: app or you can say no and we can go
- 36:02Speaker 2: together and we can go back to our house in
- 36:06Speaker 2: Altadena and we can start working on that little blimp
- 36:11Speaker 2: miniature collection that we've been trying to work on for years.
- 36:15Speaker 2: We could do that together, and we can have our
- 36:17Speaker 2: own lives. And I won't say, don't tell me what
- 36:18Speaker 2: you want to make what you want to decide. Now,
- 36:20Speaker 2: make the decision right now and tell Amanda. And I'm
- 36:24Speaker 2: with you all the way.
- 36:26Speaker 3: All right. I have to get on a plane to Miami.
- 36:30Speaker 1: So Amanda, before you go, I have an idea.
- 36:37Speaker 3: I'd love to hear.
- 36:38Speaker 1: I'd have an idea I'd love to pitch you. It's
- 36:42Speaker 1: something that's been brewing in the heart of my story,
- 36:46Speaker 1: my personal story, for a very long time. Do it, baby,
- 36:51Speaker 1: And here's the pitch. A screenwriter, mid forties, married to
- 36:57Speaker 1: a wonderful, wonderful man, going off to start her miniature
- 37:03Speaker 1: blimp collection and throwing it away for good because it's
- 37:07Speaker 1: not making her happy anymore. It's not gonna work for
- 37:10Speaker 1: her anymore. And no matter how hard she grinds away
- 37:14Speaker 1: at this machine that tells her, No, you can't make
- 37:17Speaker 1: a Halloween Marvel movie. No you can't make a Saint
- 37:19Speaker 1: Patrick's Day Marvel movie. No you can't make a Passover
- 37:22Speaker 1: Day Marvel movie.
- 37:24Speaker 4: Is this a Marvel character?
- 37:26Speaker 1: So it's a superhero movie of that of that woman?
- 37:29Speaker 3: Yes, about that woman. Listen I'm gonna green.
- 37:32Speaker 9: Light this only if you oh, she's gone. She passed by,
- 37:41Speaker 9: also passing by greenlitt in passing. I was gonna pitch
- 37:46Speaker 9: high school X men. You got the ip.
- 37:49Speaker 4: It's very well known comic. But you know what I
- 37:51Speaker 4: love forty year old blimp woman. Let's shoot it.
