- Lucas: Welcome back to Learn Danish with Fexingo. I am Lucas. Luna: And I am Luna. It is good to be back with you, Lucas. Lucas: It is good to have you here. We are continuing our series on everyday life. Luna: Yes. Last time we talked about verbs for wearing clothes. That was useful. Lucas: Right. You learned how to say you are putting on a jacket. Very practical. Luna: It was. But today, I want to talk about where we wear those jackets. Lucas: Oh, I see. We are moving inside the house. Is that right? Luna: Exactly. I want to learn the names of the rooms. In Danish. Lucas: A perfect next step. Let us start with the most important room for sleeping. Luna: The bedroom. How do you say that? Lucas: We say Soveværelse. Listen closely. Lucas: Soveværelse. Luna: Soveværelse. Lucas: Good. It is a compound word. Sove means sleep. Værelse means room. Luna: Sleep room. That makes total sense. Lucas: Yes. So if someone asks where you are, you can say you are in the Soveværelse. Luna: I am in the Soveværelse. I feel very relaxed saying that. Lucas: That is exactly what it should sound like. Now, let us move to the next room. Luna: Where people wash? The bathroom? Lucas: Correct. In Danish, we say Badeværelse. Lucas: Badeværelse. Luna: Badeværelse. Lucas: Very good. Ba de væ rel se. Bath room. Luna: Badeværelse. I can picture my own bathroom now. Lucas: Wonderful. And then there is the place where we cook food. Luna: The kitchen. Yes. I know this one might be easier. Lucas: It is. We say Køkken. Lucas: Køkken. Luna: Køkken. Lucas: Just remember the special letter K with the ring. Kökken. Luna: Køkken. Got it. The ring is important. Lucas: It is. One more room. The main living area. Luna: The living room? Or the parlor? Lucas: In Danish, it is simply Stue. Lucas: Stue. Luna: Stue. Lucas: Short and sweet. Just two letters. S-t-u-e. Luna: Stue. I like how simple that is compared to the others. Lucas: It is a great word to end with. Let us review them all quickly. Luna: Okay. Soveværelse. Lucas: Correct. Next? Luna: Badeværelse. Lucas: Perfect. Then? Luna: Køkken. Lucas: Yes. And finally? Luna: Stue. Lucas: You did it. Those four words cover almost every part of a typical home. Luna: I feel ready to describe my apartment now. Even if it is small. Lucas: Size does not matter. The words are the same. Whether big or small. Luna: That is true. I have a small Soveværelse but I love it. Lucas: And a cozy Køkken. And a clean Badeværelse. Luna: And a nice Stue for relaxing with friends. Lucas: Exactly. It is about feeling comfortable in your space. Luna: Learning Danish helps me feel more at home, even far away. Lucas: That is a beautiful way to put it. Fexingo is here to support that journey. Luna: I prefer the Stue. Reading books is my hobby. Lucas: Nice. And where do you wake up? Luna: In the Soveværelse. It is quiet there in the morning. Lucas: And where do you get ready? Luna: In the Badeværelse. Brushing teeth is essential. Lucas: You are using the words naturally. Excellent work, Luna. Luna: Thanks, Lucas. I feel much more confident now. Lucas: Keep practicing these four rooms. They are the foundation. Luna: I will. Soveværelse, Badeværelse, Køkken, Stue. Lucas: Say it with me one last time. Luna: Soveværelse. Lucas: Badeværelse. Luna: Køkken. Lucas: Stue. Luna: See you next time for more Danish lessons. Lucas: Bye for now. Keep speaking Danish.
