- 0:00Speaker 1: Scrubbing in with Becca Tilly and Tanya rap An iHeartRadio podcast.
- 0:06Speaker 1: She's the tired tired one today.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Hello everybody, we are scrubbing it.
- 0:13Speaker 3: Christmas version scrub a dub dub.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Was that the same as last scrub Happy Holidays? Merry Christmas,
- 0:26Speaker 2: Happy holidays?
- 0:27Speaker 1: Which is that the instinct one?
- 0:30Speaker 4: Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas and scrub dub dumb Hey Christmas
- 0:40Speaker 4: today today, But you are drinking a coffee, which leads
- 0:45Speaker 4: me to think that you are tired.
- 0:48Speaker 5: Uh yeah, actually no, it's a coffee. But coffee doesn't
- 0:53Speaker 5: wake me up, So it's just a I don't know
- 0:58Speaker 5: how to explain. Okay, so I don't feel like I
- 1:02Speaker 5: don't if I'm tired and then I have a coffee,
- 1:05Speaker 5: I'm not like, oh my gosh, I'm awake.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Now what caffeine doesn't affect me? What I know?
- 1:11Speaker 6: So it doesn't even get you to zero?
- 1:13Speaker 5: I think I just add zero, but it doesn't lift
- 1:15Speaker 5: me or you know. Now, if it's a doctor pepper,
- 1:20Speaker 5: like a soda or something that gives me a boost
- 1:23Speaker 5: of just like life, that's life giving serum.
- 1:27Speaker 1: That's interesting. So maybe sugar makes you zoom and not caffeine.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I think sugar.
- 1:33Speaker 5: Sometimes I drink like coke zero and die coke without
- 1:37Speaker 5: without sugar.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Well those are synthetic sugars, Tanya.
- 1:40Speaker 5: Anyways, I do have a coffee, and I am tired
- 1:44Speaker 5: because so Phoebe's really a touched to me right now. No, No,
- 1:48Speaker 5: she's really attached to me right now. And she so
- 1:50Speaker 5: normally she's always slept on Haley's side, so I have
- 1:54Speaker 5: the whole side to myself, which I'm fine with.
- 1:55Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, yeah, that's so cute.
- 1:58Speaker 5: Lately she's been like right next me, wants to be
- 2:01Speaker 5: like back to back. So anytime I go to turnover,
- 2:03Speaker 5: which I always inevitably turnover sleep on my stomach, have
- 2:07Speaker 5: to avoid her, so it wakes me up every time.
- 2:09Speaker 5: So I like, I haven't been sleeping throughout the night
- 2:12Speaker 5: because I'm dodging her.
- 2:14Speaker 1: This is the reason why Robbie keeps sending out of
- 2:16Speaker 1: our bed.
- 2:17Speaker 2: Yeah, and for that I get yeah, Like he's like.
- 2:20Speaker 1: Why would we sacrifice our beloved sleep to be speed
- 2:26Speaker 1: bumping around this dog?
- 2:28Speaker 5: The positions in my body contorts do to avoid her
- 2:32Speaker 5: is crazy.
- 2:33Speaker 1: And she also like gets into the small little crevices,
- 2:37Speaker 1: so like you know, like if you're sleeping in your
- 2:38Speaker 1: knees are bent, you know, like a little crevice right there,
- 2:42Speaker 1: Like that's where she makes builds her house.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Phoebe doesn't do that. Yeah, but when she sleeps with
- 2:47Speaker 2: on Hailey's side, Hailey.
- 2:49Speaker 5: Does not wake up for anything. Like Phoebe could be
- 2:51Speaker 5: hacking all night plus night. I'm just like red eyed
- 2:55Speaker 5: and tired. And so when she was sleeping on her side,
- 2:59Speaker 5: it didn't bother her having to move. She just kind
- 3:01Speaker 5: of would either kick Phoebe and be like figure it out,
- 3:05Speaker 5: Whereas I'm like that my child, don't you know, can't
- 3:09Speaker 5: hurt her?
- 3:09Speaker 2: No, So, yeah, I am tired. I haven't been getting
- 3:13Speaker 2: like my room sleep's probably less than five.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Do you know my sleep score was last night?
- 3:19Speaker 3: Really?
- 3:21Speaker 2: I would love to hear your sleep score?
- 3:24Speaker 1: Becca?
- 3:25Speaker 2: What did you get?
- 3:26Speaker 1: A ninety seven seven?
- 3:29Speaker 2: Wow?
- 3:31Speaker 3: Wow?
- 3:32Speaker 1: Twenty five percent in rem Come do you take anything?
- 3:37Speaker 1: I take lemmies?
- 3:39Speaker 5: Yeah, let me they do me lemmy gummies, letty ummies.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Yeah, they're melotonins, so it's like, yeah, heavy stuff.
- 3:48Speaker 3: The first time.
- 3:49Speaker 5: I took two of them, which is the dose that
- 3:51Speaker 5: they say to do, I woke up the next day.
- 3:53Speaker 2: It was like, where am I Like? It was almost
- 3:56Speaker 2: too much?
- 3:56Speaker 1: So I think that that was I did the same
- 3:59Speaker 1: thing the first I took them. But I think if
- 4:01Speaker 1: you take them regularly, the effect is not so like strong.
- 4:04Speaker 2: So jarring.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Yeah, but I might want to, like wean off because
- 4:07Speaker 1: I don't really like taking something every night to sleep,
- 4:09Speaker 1: because I don't need to, you know what I mean.
- 4:11Speaker 1: But they're just so tasty that I kind of like
- 4:15Speaker 1: it's like my treat at night, you know, maybe there's
- 4:17Speaker 1: something else. Yeah, there should be a happy medium. But yeah,
- 4:21Speaker 1: so I woke up chipper as hell today.
- 4:25Speaker 2: Well it's Christmas.
- 4:26Speaker 5: For those listening, it's Hanica and christ maka thank you
- 4:29Speaker 5: so much, and I'm happy that they co exist on
- 4:32Speaker 5: the same day together me too.
- 4:34Speaker 1: We're gonna be making uh short ribs tonight. Not when
- 4:38Speaker 1: I say we, I mean Robbie, yes, but you.
- 4:41Speaker 2: Will be documenting his hands doing the work.
- 4:43Speaker 1: Absolutely. I'm in charge of the potatoes and the salad
- 4:47Speaker 1: and the holla.
- 4:48Speaker 2: What kind of potatoes are you making?
- 4:50Speaker 1: So I think we're gonna either do a mashed or
- 4:53Speaker 1: perhaps like a chopped up and in the oven, yes,
- 4:57Speaker 1: roasted potatoes.
- 4:59Speaker 2: I love, but you any potato for you can't go wrong.
- 5:04Speaker 1: I know. Have you seen the ones where they smash
- 5:06Speaker 1: them like with like and then they put a little
- 5:08Speaker 1: parmesan on top.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Those look really good. Yeah, you should do that.
- 5:13Speaker 1: So I've never made them. It feels a little dangerous
- 5:15Speaker 1: to experiment on day.
- 5:17Speaker 5: Test it, test it, test it out.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, sound good.
- 5:24Speaker 5: Do you know what the one potato that I don't
- 5:26Speaker 5: really like that I won't eat, but I know it?
- 5:29Speaker 2: What?
- 5:29Speaker 1: What are the creamy ones?
- 5:31Speaker 3: They're like?
- 5:33Speaker 2: Yes?
- 5:35Speaker 3: No, I like those are cheesy. Those are delicious like those.
- 5:38Speaker 5: What I don't like is a mashed potato that has
- 5:41Speaker 5: the skin in it. Yeah, I just want them smooth,
- 5:48Speaker 5: buttery and salted.
- 5:51Speaker 3: No skin.
- 5:53Speaker 1: I like the texture.
- 5:54Speaker 6: We did a feast of seven potatoes for Christmas Eve
- 5:57Speaker 6: last year and where I cooked seven different potatoes that
- 6:00Speaker 6: was only eat and it was a bad idea. It
- 6:04Speaker 6: was I'm reminded of sweet potatoes. We did tac about
- 6:07Speaker 6: Fiesta potatoes. I didn't make those mashed potatoes, scaloped potatoes,
- 6:13Speaker 6: sweet potatoes.
- 6:14Speaker 3: That was the whole meal.
- 6:15Speaker 6: That was a whole mealtas there you go.
- 6:18Speaker 3: I think sweet potatoes twice. I think he said sweet
- 6:21Speaker 3: potatoes twice.
- 6:22Speaker 1: Well maybe you made a sweet maybe he's made a
- 6:24Speaker 1: sweet baked potato and a mashed baked potato, mashed sweet potato.
- 6:28Speaker 3: But anyway, that was it. There was no main course.
- 6:30Speaker 6: It was just potatoes, no protein, no fiber, just the
- 6:34Speaker 6: complex carbohydrates that the potato can give you. It was Yeah,
- 6:37Speaker 6: it was filling. But potatoes are so delicious, you know.
- 6:40Speaker 1: Yeah, honestly, And I didn't realize this, I was. I
- 6:43Speaker 1: posted this the other day, but I'm like, I never
- 6:46Speaker 1: in my you don't like you make those lists of
- 6:47Speaker 1: what you want to partner and then you would like
- 6:49Speaker 1: write them and sleep on the pillow.
- 6:50Speaker 3: You know, no one ever does that.
- 6:52Speaker 2: People do that.
- 6:53Speaker 3: You've done that.
- 6:55Speaker 1: Never, You've never written down a list of what you
- 6:57Speaker 1: want to partner. Yes, yeah, you never put it under
- 7:01Speaker 1: your pillow. I say things like a step too far anyways,
- 7:07Speaker 1: never so crunchy like under your pillow, I know, but
- 7:11Speaker 1: like moving around, you'll hear the pillow the paper crunch,
- 7:14Speaker 1: not even a little bit. Okay, many a nights I
- 7:16Speaker 1: slept with it under there, but I never put on
- 7:19Speaker 1: there that I wanted my partner to know how to
- 7:22Speaker 1: cook like that was never a thing. Like cooking was
- 7:24Speaker 1: never a thing. And I realized over the years, it
- 7:27Speaker 1: is so nice having a partner that knows how to
- 7:29Speaker 1: deal with meat because I hate raw meat. I hate
- 7:33Speaker 1: touching it, I hate seasoning it, I hate washing it,
- 7:36Speaker 1: I hate all of it. And he just knows how
- 7:39Speaker 1: to do all the meat stuff.
- 7:41Speaker 2: It's so nice a man who handles meat.
- 7:44Speaker 1: Yeah put that on lists?
- 7:50Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, yeah, No, that was never something I did.
- 7:54Speaker 5: I did have my list, but again, it was the
- 7:56Speaker 5: perfect man, my dream man.
- 7:59Speaker 7: Would it have mattered, Well, it'd be interesting to look
- 8:04Speaker 7: at it because I would obviously maybe you put like man,
- 8:07Speaker 7: hot man, whatever put there was probably a lot.
- 8:09Speaker 1: Of personality traits that Haley.
- 8:11Speaker 2: I did not put hot man.
- 8:13Speaker 3: You didn't even specify in your mind. You might have,
- 8:15Speaker 3: but you didn't write down the gender on the list.
- 8:17Speaker 2: I wrote, Oh yeah, no I did, right, I'm just
- 8:20Speaker 2: saying I got man.
- 8:21Speaker 5: Hot wasn't on my like. I think I wanted to
- 8:25Speaker 5: be attracted to him, but I didn't put.
- 8:27Speaker 1: So what was on our list?
- 8:29Speaker 2: Honestly?
- 8:29Speaker 5: Like Christian was like my number one. I think like
- 8:35Speaker 5: loyal kind Hailey, Hailey loves his family, Hailey, I think athletic, which.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Fine a long.
- 8:55Speaker 5: I didn't specify that we needed to play basketball together
- 8:59Speaker 5: or through the football.
- 9:00Speaker 2: Other terifics matter.
- 9:02Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, let that'd be a lesson.
- 9:07Speaker 2: I'm just saying like a lot.
- 9:08Speaker 5: I mean I think that a general like the general
- 9:10Speaker 5: qualities of that I looked for in a person would
- 9:13Speaker 5: be the same, whether as a man or woman. But
- 9:15Speaker 5: there were some things where I was like, huh, didn't happen,
- 9:21Speaker 5: but like almost in.
- 9:22Speaker 2: The best way, because I did date. I did date people.
- 9:25Speaker 5: Who you know, fit that list, and they it wasn't
- 9:28Speaker 5: right right. So the list sometimes isn't everything, as we've discovered.
- 9:34Speaker 5: As we have discovered, I think there's probably a lot
- 9:36Speaker 5: of things that weren't on your list.
- 9:38Speaker 2: About Robbie for sure.
- 9:41Speaker 5: Definitely did Alison match your list that you made growing.
- 9:45Speaker 3: Up growing up?
- 9:46Speaker 2: This was like I made this like ten years ago in.
- 9:50Speaker 1: My older years.
- 9:51Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:52Speaker 6: I feel like my list growing up was like I
- 9:54Speaker 6: hope Captainmrica is my best friend. No, I mean, I
- 9:58Speaker 6: didn't like physically make a list, but like Alison, in
- 10:01Speaker 6: my mind, Ali, somebody.
- 10:03Speaker 1: You didn't make a physical list. There's got to be
- 10:06Speaker 1: somebody out there think a lot.
- 10:09Speaker 5: I think a lot of women make lists, but I
- 10:12Speaker 5: think the sleeping with it under the pillow was the
- 10:14Speaker 5: thing that we were all thought off guard by.
- 10:16Speaker 6: Is the tooth pirre supposed to grant bring this man
- 10:18Speaker 6: to you?
- 10:19Speaker 1: Is that the idea? It's about manifestation and holding it
- 10:22Speaker 1: close to you.
- 10:23Speaker 5: What was the other thing you did with the honey?
- 10:27Speaker 1: Yeah, that thing works.
- 10:29Speaker 3: She also would only sleep on one side of the bed.
- 10:31Speaker 3: She left space, and she left the drawer.
- 10:33Speaker 1: I let the whole drawer like a whole drawer, like
- 10:36Speaker 1: a whole, like a whole.
- 10:42Speaker 4: Yes.
- 10:43Speaker 3: And I had.
- 10:43Speaker 1: A closet like the whole closet ring, like a whole
- 10:48Speaker 1: closet ring empty to have space, because how are you
- 10:53Speaker 1: expected to bring someone into your life if you don't
- 10:55Speaker 1: have space for them?
- 10:58Speaker 2: I mean I did that. I did well.
- 11:00Speaker 1: It happened so perfectly for everybody else.
- 11:05Speaker 2: The fairy tale.
- 11:08Speaker 5: I actually would love to hear because I so many
- 11:10Speaker 5: because that was part of the calling in the one right.
- 11:12Speaker 2: Yes, So I would love to hear because the people.
- 11:19Speaker 1: I was talking to somebody recently, because I was talking
- 11:23Speaker 1: to somebody recently about this book, and she was like,
- 11:27Speaker 1: you read calling in the one right because she's like
- 11:28Speaker 1: still single and I was like yes, and she's like
- 11:31Speaker 1: all of my friends have been telling me that it works,
- 11:33Speaker 1: and I'm like, yes, do it.
- 11:36Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying.
- 11:37Speaker 5: But you have like part of the homework was doing
- 11:39Speaker 5: all that stuff like creating space and like physical space.
- 11:43Speaker 1: I should rewrite that book, like my own version of it.
- 11:47Speaker 5: You have a publisher, I know, but the one that
- 11:51Speaker 5: the original did so well, why do you.
- 11:53Speaker 2: Need a couple of weeks?
- 11:55Speaker 1: There's a good like.
- 11:58Speaker 2: But you did it, and you call it the ones?
- 12:00Speaker 2: And why would you tweak anything?
- 12:01Speaker 1: It wouldn't be calling in the one. It would be like,
- 12:04Speaker 1: I don't know, there's working, I'm working. I'm working title yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, okay,
- 12:11Speaker 1: AnyWho where are we going?
- 12:14Speaker 5: Well, I was just gonna say I would love to
- 12:15Speaker 5: know if if other people did all that stuff, you know, because.
- 12:22Speaker 1: Well, yeah, if you're gonna do the work book, you
- 12:23Speaker 1: gotta do the work.
- 12:24Speaker 2: I know.
- 12:25Speaker 5: The part something that I struggle with is when I
- 12:27Speaker 5: do things I make I just do my I'm like, oh,
- 12:29Speaker 5: I'll just make it my own, you know, like you're
- 12:33Speaker 5: wanting me to clear out a whole space in my
- 12:34Speaker 5: closet for someone who's not here yet, you know. So
- 12:38Speaker 5: I'm just wondering if people I would like to know,
- 12:40Speaker 5: the people who have had success after.
- 12:42Speaker 2: Doing the workbook, you'd I know, I'm saying outside from you.
- 12:46Speaker 5: If they did all those things like set the table place.
- 12:51Speaker 1: I don't know if that was from the book, to
- 12:53Speaker 1: be honest, Like the book definitely did, like the vision
- 12:58Speaker 1: boards and the like of the packs that you made,
- 13:02Speaker 1: like if we're not married by the time or this
- 13:03Speaker 1: age whatever, Like there's a lot of that stuff, but
- 13:05Speaker 1: I don't know about the table setting and the clearing
- 13:09Speaker 1: out space.
- 13:10Speaker 3: The producer on the morning show, you gave her the book,
- 13:12Speaker 3: and I don't think she's done it.
- 13:13Speaker 1: I'm about to buy it for her again. Round two.
- 13:16Speaker 2: You don't think she has anymore? Well, I'm just going
- 13:18Speaker 2: to give it a new copy, new.
- 13:20Speaker 1: Copy maybe, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 13:22Speaker 5: I want to talk about Christmas traditions and the things
- 13:26Speaker 5: that we're doing on this wonderful day of celebration.
- 13:31Speaker 2: But before we get into it, I want to take
- 13:35Speaker 2: a break. All right.
- 13:52Speaker 5: We are back, and during the break, Mark says she
- 13:55Speaker 5: has a Christmas right that he wanted to come.
- 13:58Speaker 3: We're getting the big gift this year. We're getting them
- 14:00Speaker 3: new phones. We're getting to my phone sixteen's you know. Okay,
- 14:03Speaker 3: So I called Verizon a couple of weeks ago. I'd
- 14:06Speaker 3: like to do this please, great, upgrade the phones. Great,
- 14:10Speaker 3: no problem. Great. By the way, it's a surprise for
- 14:13Speaker 3: my daughters. It's a Christmas gift. Great, no problem. Both
- 14:17Speaker 3: of them got texts within twenty four hours saying your
- 14:20Speaker 3: new phones.
- 14:20Speaker 2: All the way, come on, what are you doing?
- 14:23Speaker 3: It's Christmas time? I can't upgrade my kids phones. Well,
- 14:26Speaker 3: it's obnoxious.
- 14:27Speaker 5: That's annoying. Yeah, I think that's annoying. I'm the gripe.
- 14:32Speaker 5: I understand that that's annoying.
- 14:33Speaker 1: I'm on the worker's side. Because here's the thing. You
- 14:38Speaker 1: told that one person the phone.
- 14:40Speaker 3: Her name was Erica, over the phone, she was great.
- 14:42Speaker 2: Okay, Eric.
- 14:44Speaker 1: Erica probably puts it in the note to Samantha, who's
- 14:48Speaker 1: the next person in mine that's doing the whatever the
- 14:50Speaker 1: hell that they need to do. So then Samantha's it's
- 14:52Speaker 1: all automated. Yeah, yeah, I don't know about that.
- 14:56Speaker 2: Yeah, I get texts for everything that.
- 14:58Speaker 3: Like.
- 14:58Speaker 5: For a long time, I was on my older sister's
- 15:00Speaker 5: phone plane, which has all my nephews on it. So
- 15:03Speaker 5: anything they did that was like a separate even from
- 15:06Speaker 5: the phone stuff like iPads stuff or whatever. I would
- 15:08Speaker 5: get notifications about data and usage, and I'm like, I.
- 15:14Speaker 1: Feel like it was she didn't want to spoil your Christmas.
- 15:18Speaker 1: I whole heart.
- 15:19Speaker 3: Then Erica said to me, just so you know, once
- 15:21Speaker 3: we start this process, they're going to start getting texts.
- 15:23Speaker 1: Well, maybe Erica didn't know that Erica's.
- 15:26Speaker 2: Worked at Verizon for all your girls. You should be like, hey,
- 15:29Speaker 2: I got a spam text from Verizon.
- 15:31Speaker 3: Don't That was when only one of them got when
- 15:33Speaker 3: we were like, okay, what do we say, We'll say,
- 15:35Speaker 3: And now they're both getting them and they're just like,
- 15:37Speaker 3: you know, what the hell with it? Yeah, you're getting phones?
- 15:40Speaker 3: Merror Christmas.
- 15:43Speaker 2: I got a saxophone stand for Christmas. That's what I
- 15:46Speaker 2: asked for. Wow, you no, it was stoked when I
- 15:49Speaker 2: walked out and it was set up.
- 15:51Speaker 3: That's a great topic. What's the best gift you got that?
- 15:54Speaker 3: Just like you're so happy, blew your mind.
- 15:57Speaker 5: My that was a big one, my, the one I
- 16:01Speaker 5: really remember. Because every year we'd get like our individual
- 16:03Speaker 5: stuff and then there'd be like normally something that was
- 16:05Speaker 5: for all of us collectively as five kids, really like
- 16:08Speaker 5: a big gift, that's a fat idea. And one year
- 16:12Speaker 5: we got a go kartow fun and that was really fun.
- 16:18Speaker 5: Around the neighborhood we had a ton of Like where
- 16:20Speaker 5: we lived there was like a lot of land, and
- 16:22Speaker 5: then our neighbors had a lot of land, so we
- 16:23Speaker 5: could just like roam around.
- 16:26Speaker 2: It was fun.
- 16:27Speaker 3: Is that still where your parents are?
- 16:28Speaker 2: No?
- 16:29Speaker 3: All right, do you ever get back there to see
- 16:31Speaker 3: those that land?
- 16:32Speaker 5: Well, actually a few years ago I went, uh to
- 16:35Speaker 5: go look at it. And so it's funny because the
- 16:38Speaker 5: street now where I lived, it was a bunch of
- 16:40Speaker 5: people from the church and school I grew up going to,
- 16:42Speaker 5: so everyone kind of lived on that street. And then
- 16:45Speaker 5: everyone kind of moved and now it's still people from
- 16:47Speaker 5: the same school and stuff that I grew up with,
- 16:49Speaker 5: but it's like the new generation of people.
- 16:51Speaker 2: It's kind of cool.
- 16:52Speaker 1: But yeah, so sad, I don't know. I felt like that, like,
- 16:57Speaker 1: do you know that my twenty year high school reunion
- 16:59Speaker 1: is next year?
- 17:01Speaker 2: Well, whoa, that's right. It feels like it should only
- 17:03Speaker 2: be ten for us.
- 17:04Speaker 1: Yeah, I just graduated from high school, like you gonna go. Yeah,
- 17:09Speaker 1: if it's like in a date that I don't think
- 17:11Speaker 1: they said a date. They just said like next year,
- 17:13Speaker 1: twenty twenty five is the twenty years so let's like
- 17:16Speaker 1: get to planning.
- 17:17Speaker 5: Wow, whoa would you be part of the planning committee?
- 17:22Speaker 1: I think I have a lot of planning to do
- 17:24Speaker 1: in twenty twenty five, So I'm gonna I'm gonna. I'm
- 17:26Speaker 1: gonna leave.
- 17:27Speaker 2: That that will all be done by by May. I'm
- 17:30Speaker 2: assuming it's in May.
- 17:32Speaker 1: The reunion, I have no idea they might do it.
- 17:35Speaker 1: I have no idea. Yeah, when does one do them.
- 17:38Speaker 5: I've never been to a summer month, thinking graduate in May, right,
- 17:42Speaker 5: so like.
- 17:43Speaker 2: The officials never been to a twenty year before.
- 17:46Speaker 1: I don't know what to expect.
- 17:48Speaker 5: I feel like our high school reunion that we had,
- 17:51Speaker 5: we literally had like forty people in our graduating class,
- 17:54Speaker 5: and I think the last one like nine people went
- 17:56Speaker 5: to the ten Wow.
- 17:58Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yeah, forty people in your graduating class.
- 18:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I like, wow, three hundred that's crazy, like two something.
- 18:06Speaker 5: So that's what I'm saying, though, you would have a
- 18:08Speaker 5: good turnout, because like even if it was.
- 18:10Speaker 1: Ten percent, still thirty people.
- 18:13Speaker 5: Yeah, exactly, yeah, that's what I'm saying, Like you you
- 18:17Speaker 5: would still get to see people and be like, oh
- 18:19Speaker 5: my gosh.
- 18:19Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, I'm still because it just popped up
- 18:21Speaker 1: in my Facebook and I'm seeing people like on Facebook
- 18:24Speaker 1: that I haven't seen. I'm like, oh my gosh, this
- 18:25Speaker 1: is your new last name and her kids and her
- 18:29Speaker 1: yeah five children.
- 18:30Speaker 2: And the new husband. Yes.
- 18:33Speaker 1: Crazy, yeah, you know, so crazy.
- 18:35Speaker 5: It is crazy. Okay, holiday traditions, what have you done?
- 18:39Speaker 5: What are your holiday traditions? Like?
- 18:42Speaker 2: Do you have holiday traditions that you took from your
- 18:45Speaker 2: childhood that you've brought into your life now I'm asking
- 18:49Speaker 2: everybody about the way.
- 18:50Speaker 1: So there's this My mom every year used to put
- 18:53Speaker 1: this like gingerbread Man and our Stalking, And it was
- 18:55Speaker 1: the most delicious gingerbread Man cookie I have ever had
- 19:00Speaker 1: in my life. Like it was so delicious. I wonder
- 19:04Speaker 1: if I had it now, if I would still find
- 19:05Speaker 1: it so delicious. Probably not, but I know where she
- 19:09Speaker 1: got it, and I want to go back and see
- 19:10Speaker 1: if I can find them, because I would look forward
- 19:12Speaker 1: to it every single year because it was I only
- 19:14Speaker 1: got one a year, and he was in my stocking
- 19:17Speaker 1: every year. And then like I remember at some point
- 19:20Speaker 1: my sister stopped liking it, so like she would give
- 19:22Speaker 1: me her gingerbread man, so then I would have two.
- 19:24Speaker 5: For the year.
- 19:25Speaker 3: Wow.
- 19:26Speaker 1: Yeah yeah yeah, but that is like the one thing,
- 19:29Speaker 1: like I just remember this gingerbread man and it being
- 19:32Speaker 1: I was so excited to get it every single year.
- 19:34Speaker 3: That's a funny topic too, is what was in your
- 19:36Speaker 3: stocking because it was Andy's candies the mints because we
- 19:40Speaker 3: go when we go on vacation, they put it on
- 19:42Speaker 3: your pillow and we love my sister. I would fight
- 19:44Speaker 3: over those Andy's candies and so we get a whole
- 19:46Speaker 3: box of my Christmas But that wasn't cool, Like it
- 19:48Speaker 3: was cool in the hotel room, but a whole box
- 19:49Speaker 3: on my Christmas. We'd never even need them. And giant
- 19:52Speaker 3: really giant fruit. What enormous oranges apples like giant fruit
- 19:58Speaker 3: that filled out the stocking.
- 19:59Speaker 6: Yeah, I've noticed that a lot of like in the
- 20:01Speaker 6: East Coast and Midwest, there's a lot of like oranges
- 20:03Speaker 6: in the stocks and stuff like that.
- 20:05Speaker 1: We always have like nail polish, like like airplane was
- 20:12Speaker 1: I still get that from my mother.
- 20:15Speaker 2: Wait, this is interesting.
- 20:16Speaker 5: This is an interesting topic because a lot of people's
- 20:18Speaker 5: like big expensive gifts are their stocking stuff lot, but
- 20:23Speaker 5: our stocking stuffers growing up were all it was like candy,
- 20:26Speaker 5: like I happening, like maybe like little makeup like lip
- 20:29Speaker 5: gloss and stuff, but never anything super expensive or no.
- 20:33Speaker 1: Ours was like candles.
- 20:36Speaker 2: Makeup, just like fun little knick knacks.
- 20:38Speaker 1: Yeah, but I feel like so because my step kids
- 20:42Speaker 1: are Jewish, they've never had stockings and and like you
- 20:45Speaker 1: know what I mean, Like this is never a thing,
- 20:46Speaker 1: so I always feel like I need to make everything
- 20:48Speaker 1: extra good, you know what I mean. So I got
- 20:51Speaker 1: like I went to this international candy store and got
- 20:55Speaker 1: these like really cool candies that for each of their taste,
- 20:58Speaker 1: one of them like sour stuff and one of them
- 20:59Speaker 1: like more like chocolatey stuff. So I like got them
- 21:02Speaker 1: these really cool like international candies for their stocking. I
- 21:06Speaker 1: don't know, it's good.
- 21:07Speaker 2: Wow, that's a good stock gingerbread man.
- 21:09Speaker 1: No, no gingerbread man.
- 21:11Speaker 2: This year, I can't find it.
- 21:12Speaker 1: I can't find it. Yeah, but I'm gonna have to
- 21:15Speaker 1: find my thing. I'll find it.
- 21:17Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah.
- 21:17Speaker 1: Every year for Christmas, I get them something that has
- 21:20Speaker 1: to do with sunny, so like either a blanket with
- 21:22Speaker 1: Sonny's face on it, or like a pillow with Sonny's
- 21:25Speaker 1: face on it or something like that. That's not been
- 21:27Speaker 1: like my tradition with them.
- 21:28Speaker 2: Yeah, that's cute.
- 21:28Speaker 1: Yeah, I like that. Yeah, what do y'all do?
- 21:31Speaker 2: Tradition have you? Did you take anything from your.
- 21:33Speaker 3: Not really no. I mentioned a few weeks ago that,
- 21:36Speaker 3: like the tradition from when I was a kid at
- 21:38Speaker 3: it's so regimented that I remember nothing, So I really
- 21:40Speaker 3: I've really backed off on the traditions. But it's pretty
- 21:43Speaker 3: similar because we're with our in laws in Wisconsin. As
- 21:46Speaker 3: you hear this and uh, and there's a church on
- 21:49Speaker 3: and then we go to get like a steakhouse for dinner,
- 21:52Speaker 3: and then during the next day we opened presents for
- 21:55Speaker 3: a long time. You take lots of breaks, you know.
- 21:58Speaker 3: They my brother and puts on a basketball Today it'll
- 22:01Speaker 3: be a football game. But anyway, it's just it's just
- 22:04Speaker 3: kind of it's kind of chilling. It's just kind of that.
- 22:05Speaker 3: That's how a picture to sitting in the living room.
- 22:07Speaker 3: We're all in the same spot every year. We're all
- 22:10Speaker 3: sitting in the same place in the living room every
- 22:12Speaker 3: year and watching everybody open the presence for a long
- 22:14Speaker 3: time and then Grandma Sandy's making us sandwiches tonight.
- 22:17Speaker 1: Do you have to ship all the gifts there?
- 22:19Speaker 3: Yes, we try to ship gifts to Wisconsin. Yes, I
- 22:21Speaker 3: just shift them. Yeah. The ornaments, I always get my
- 22:24Speaker 3: kids ornaments every years.
- 22:26Speaker 2: So that's a tradition just from me.
- 22:27Speaker 3: Yeah, that's true, that's your tradition. Yeah, I love that.
- 22:29Speaker 2: I'm really into like getting Yes, and.
- 22:32Speaker 3: I have ornaments I've given my wife going back, you know,
- 22:35Speaker 3: twenty seven years.
- 22:36Speaker 2: That's really that's I love that.
- 22:40Speaker 5: Wait, so when y'all do gifts, do you do like
- 22:44Speaker 5: everyone gets everyone a gift or is it more like
- 22:47Speaker 5: Elvester you draw names and pick or does everyone just.
- 22:51Speaker 3: Buy everyone for everyone?
- 22:53Speaker 4: Such?
- 22:53Speaker 2: Long dang, Oh my other question.
- 22:55Speaker 5: When someone do y'all do like one person opens all
- 22:58Speaker 5: their yes?
- 22:59Speaker 3: Oh and you of age starting with the youngest. Wow,
- 23:04Speaker 3: that that goes back to when I was a kid.
- 23:06Speaker 3: That's that's kind of I feel like.
- 23:07Speaker 2: I'm bringing up to.
- 23:11Speaker 1: It was start with the youngest, which was you. Yes,
- 23:13Speaker 1: but we wouldn't do all at once. It would be
- 23:15Speaker 1: one one, one one one, and then you go back
- 23:17Speaker 1: around well right.
- 23:20Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, yeah, it was always just a free for
- 23:23Speaker 6: all when we would open that, Yeah, I can't have anything.
- 23:27Speaker 3: In my life free for all.
- 23:29Speaker 1: No ours was very organized. One person at a time,
- 23:31Speaker 1: one gift at a time. Once that person's done opening theirs,
- 23:34Speaker 1: then the next person.
- 23:35Speaker 2: Oh, no, ours is a free for all.
- 23:37Speaker 5: Really into Yeah, there's five kids, like you're trying to
- 23:40Speaker 5: get all of us to be like.
- 23:41Speaker 1: I mean, wait, three yeah is not nothing.
- 23:45Speaker 6: We'd always spend Christmas Eve in my grandfather's house and
- 23:47Speaker 6: that's when we'd open gifts with like my mom's side
- 23:50Speaker 6: of the family, and it was just a free for
- 23:51Speaker 6: all because there was like, you know, twenty of us
- 23:53Speaker 6: or something, all the cousins and everything. You know, you
- 23:56Speaker 6: just do that and then the next morning is just
- 23:57Speaker 6: me and my sister opening gifts.
- 23:59Speaker 3: You know what I.
- 23:59Speaker 1: Saw the day that was like the cutest thing ever.
- 24:04Speaker 1: It was a Southwest Stewardess and spoilerler if you're listening
- 24:10Speaker 1: in the car with children, fast forward.
- 24:12Speaker 2: So that was nice. I appreciate.
- 24:15Speaker 1: The Southwest Stewardess was in on the elf on a shelf,
- 24:20Speaker 1: and so the mom is videoing her two kids sitting
- 24:23Speaker 1: on the plane and she's like, oh, I don't know
- 24:26Speaker 1: how there's a something got on the plane and there
- 24:29Speaker 1: it's there asking for its owners and the name of
- 24:33Speaker 1: the kids or whatever, and there's a note here it's
- 24:35Speaker 1: it's Buddy and whatever, and the kid's eyes just go.
- 24:40Speaker 2: Know, we were here, and then.
- 24:41Speaker 1: The stewardess like brings it over and they're like, oh
- 24:43Speaker 1: my god, he's on this plane and he had like
- 24:46Speaker 1: a Southwest whole thing hanging from his neck. And I
- 24:48Speaker 1: was like, Robby said it to me because I'm like,
- 24:51Speaker 1: I cannot wait to do Elf on a shelf. Like literally,
- 24:55Speaker 1: I'm already like saving all the like cute ones that
- 24:57Speaker 1: I see people doing, like saving them like in my
- 25:01Speaker 1: oh yeah, saved thing.
- 25:02Speaker 2: When when Buddy the Elf comes and.
- 25:06Speaker 5: The morning notes will be no more because Buddy, good morning.
- 25:10Speaker 1: Else Robbie will be goodbye during December, it's gonna be
- 25:15Speaker 1: appreciate them now, Yes, let that be a lesson.
- 25:20Speaker 2: Do you and Elson have traditions?
- 25:21Speaker 6: Yeah, we we usually just uh we visited my parents
- 25:25Speaker 6: for Thanksgiving and then for Christmas we say home and
- 25:28Speaker 6: we open gifts in the morning and then we usually
- 25:30Speaker 6: watch Crampis. It's this movie with Adam Scott from twenty sixteen.
- 25:35Speaker 2: We watch character.
- 25:36Speaker 1: Something isn't Crampis in like Red One.
- 25:39Speaker 3: Yes, he is in Red One.
- 25:40Speaker 1: Wow.
- 25:41Speaker 6: Yeah, big big pop from us when he show up
- 25:43Speaker 6: on screen. We he's like the bad Santa. He's scary.
- 25:47Speaker 6: But so we watched Crampis. We always watched like up
- 25:50Speaker 6: at Christmas. We just watched movies all day this year.
- 25:52Speaker 6: As you're hearing this, we're in New York City, the
- 25:54Speaker 6: Big Apple.
- 25:56Speaker 3: You're flying out fly yeah, or we actually might be
- 25:58Speaker 3: at the airport.
- 25:59Speaker 6: Listen to this, so keep flying the friendly skies with
- 26:02Speaker 6: United Airlines and yeah, that's when we're trying to do
- 26:05Speaker 6: something different. I've always wanted to go to the city
- 26:07Speaker 6: for thanks for Christmas, so that's what we're doing.
- 26:09Speaker 2: I love I can't wait to hear about it.
- 26:11Speaker 6: I have a question really quick about about a gift
- 26:13Speaker 6: that Alson may already have at this point, and we'll
- 26:16Speaker 6: talk about it after the break, right, yeah, yeah.
- 26:36Speaker 2: All right, we're back. Okay, you have a gift for Alison.
- 26:39Speaker 6: Yeah, this is just a quick question.
- 26:41Speaker 3: It's crossed my mind.
- 26:42Speaker 6: Alison told me specifically that what she wanted. One of
- 26:45Speaker 6: the things she wanted for Christmas was she has a
- 26:48Speaker 6: pendant but has no chain. And she wanted a silver
- 26:52Speaker 6: chain from Tiffany's for the necklace, and it's they're not
- 26:56Speaker 6: that expensive, so.
- 26:57Speaker 3: I got it.
- 26:58Speaker 6: And I'm just realizing now I'm afraid that she's going
- 27:01Speaker 6: to see the Tiffany box and I think it's something
- 27:04Speaker 6: like do I need to get something else?
- 27:09Speaker 2: That the chain is from Tiffany.
- 27:12Speaker 6: But she sees the box like, oh my god, what
- 27:15Speaker 6: did you do? And she has for this like a
- 27:18Speaker 6: while ago, so I'm like, oh God, did she forget?
- 27:20Speaker 6: Like is she going to you know, No, I don't
- 27:22Speaker 6: think that's about it all.
- 27:23Speaker 1: I think it's so nice. I don't think she'll be
- 27:25Speaker 1: disappointed at all.
- 27:26Speaker 5: Like knowing that the chain is so special.
- 27:30Speaker 6: Okay, that dawn on me just now.
- 27:33Speaker 1: I was like, oh God, what are your traditions with Haley?
- 27:40Speaker 1: Have you made any We don't really have it.
- 27:42Speaker 5: Well, we've only spent actual Christmas together one time, and
- 27:47Speaker 5: it was because there was all the snowstorms in the
- 27:50Speaker 5: South and Midwest two years ago and then I got
- 27:53Speaker 5: strap throat, but I got to spend it with her family.
- 27:55Speaker 5: And I think this year we're going to be together
- 27:56Speaker 5: because I'm like just at that point where I want
- 27:59Speaker 5: to be with, you know, on Christmas, and I love
- 28:01Speaker 5: to see my family, and she went to be with
- 28:03Speaker 5: her family. But you know, it's just that you're very
- 28:06Speaker 5: lucky that you're both of your I know.
- 28:09Speaker 1: But no, we're still kind of in that thing because
- 28:11Speaker 1: my family is in San Diego. So we're doing well.
- 28:14Speaker 1: We already did Christmas Eve last night at my sisters
- 28:19Speaker 1: because every Christmas Eve they do cookie decorating, so the
- 28:23Speaker 1: decorate the cookies for Santa, so that my brother in
- 28:26Speaker 1: law makes like a hundred sugar cookies and then we
- 28:29Speaker 1: all like decorate them with like stuff. So we me, Robbie,
- 28:33Speaker 1: the kids went down for that. So then we did
- 28:36Speaker 1: that with my family. But then I was like, I
- 28:38Speaker 1: want to start making like traditions with my family, like
- 28:43Speaker 1: my new nuclear family whatever, like my family at Like,
- 28:46Speaker 1: I want to spend Christmas morning in our house with
- 28:48Speaker 1: our tree and our you know. So we're going back up.
- 28:51Speaker 1: We came back up and we're doing Christmas Night with
- 28:55Speaker 1: just us, me, Robbie, the kids, his parents, and my
- 28:59Speaker 1: parents because my sister wants to spend Christmas at her
- 29:02Speaker 1: house with her kids. My brother just had a baby
- 29:04Speaker 1: and he wants doesn't want to upset her, you know,
- 29:06Speaker 1: routine yet, so I'm like we're all kind of doing
- 29:08Speaker 1: our own.
- 29:08Speaker 2: Things are coming up. My parents are.
- 29:10Speaker 1: Coming and they're going to do the morning with my brother,
- 29:15Speaker 1: my sister. Yeah, but it's like you get just her
- 29:17Speaker 1: a page where Yeah, I know, like I feel bad.
- 29:20Speaker 1: My parents are like schlepping four hour drive although do
- 29:23Speaker 1: you feel like it? The roads will be clear hopefully. Yeah,
- 29:28Speaker 1: got to meet all the travelers out there.
- 29:30Speaker 5: Okay, before we do this or that? What is your
- 29:33Speaker 5: favorite Christmas is yours? Crampis favorite Christmas movie, favorite Christmas movie,
- 29:38Speaker 5: favorite Christmas song?
- 29:42Speaker 3: For Christmas song you have to go, you have to
- 29:44Speaker 3: go like modern and traditional again, Like my favorite modern
- 29:49Speaker 3: Christmas song is Happy Christmas War Is Over from John Lennon.
- 29:52Speaker 3: My favorite traditional Christmas song is so Holy Night that
- 29:55Speaker 3: it's a guaranteed goosebump and doucer. You really hit that
- 29:57Speaker 3: note at the end.
- 29:58Speaker 2: Good one.
- 29:59Speaker 3: And favorite movie. I think Elf has really taking the lead.
- 30:02Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 30:03Speaker 3: I love It's a wonderful life, but I think I
- 30:04Speaker 3: get the most joy out of Elf.
- 30:07Speaker 1: So since you picked Elf, because it's a toss up
- 30:10Speaker 1: for me, I'm going to go home alone too.
- 30:12Speaker 2: Okay more than one.
- 30:14Speaker 1: Yes, I don't know why. For some reason, tutis cooks
- 30:17Speaker 1: better cooks. It eats, it eats. My favorite classic Christmas
- 30:23Speaker 1: song is what Christmas Means to Me My love by
- 30:25Speaker 1: John Legend. That's what Christmas means. That's more of a
- 30:30Speaker 1: modern well whatever, that's my old favorite, old one, and
- 30:33Speaker 1: then my new one. My new favorite is like It's
- 30:35Speaker 1: Christmas the Jonas Brothers.
- 30:37Speaker 3: I think this probably came out at a very similar time. Okay, traditional,
- 30:42Speaker 3: I mean, like, you know what child is this? A
- 30:46Speaker 3: little town of Bethlehem, Hark the Herald Angels sing silent
- 30:49Speaker 3: night like that, like Christmas carols.
- 30:53Speaker 1: Fine jingle bell rock that's also not but that's okay.
- 30:56Speaker 5: That's I would say that my favorite movie is a holiday,
- 31:02Speaker 5: Oh good one. I would say that my favorite modern
- 31:05Speaker 5: song this is hard because there's some really good I
- 31:08Speaker 5: would go, I think I'm going to Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, because.
- 31:11Speaker 1: That just gets me more than the Jonas Brothers.
- 31:15Speaker 2: I don't even know the Jonas Brothers one, so yes,
- 31:19Speaker 2: you make.
- 31:20Speaker 1: Me every day.
- 31:22Speaker 3: It's Christmas.
- 31:28Speaker 5: That's fun and I probably heard it. But Mary christ
- 31:30Speaker 5: is Happy Holidays.
- 31:31Speaker 1: That's a good one. It's a good one.
- 31:32Speaker 5: But I also love Santa Tell Me Too, Underneath the
- 31:36Speaker 5: Tree Kelly Clarkson.
- 31:38Speaker 2: Yeah, I know. And then my favorite classic might be
- 31:42Speaker 2: Holy Night.
- 31:43Speaker 3: That's a good there you go, that's a good one.
- 31:46Speaker 3: Uh yeah.
- 31:47Speaker 6: My favorite Christmas is Cobby Crampis twenty sixteen s Crampus
- 31:50Speaker 6: starring out of Scott and uh my favorite traditional is
- 31:53Speaker 6: probably jingle Bells. Sure, that was a classic, and my
- 31:57Speaker 6: favorite modern one is by bb REXA. Oh Wow, count
- 32:00Speaker 6: on Christmas, Count On Christmas, count on Christmas.
- 32:05Speaker 3: Oh, it's so good.
