- 0:26right, guys. Well, today's lead story
- 0:28was an interesting one. When it came
- 0:30through as a topic for this week, it was
- 0:32like profits are down.
- 0:33>> Didn't make sense to me really%. So, I
- 0:36questioned things because I was
- 0:37immediately like, "Huh,
- 0:38>> that's not there's no way."
- 0:39>> Well, we go through the numbers every
- 0:42month of these topline revenue numbers.
- 0:44>> And so, while revenue
- 0:47>> at 21.1 billion was the highest it's
- 0:50ever been,
- 0:51>> net profit is down,
- 0:53>> right?
- 0:5581% excessive number 81%. This number
- 0:58was some
- 0:59>> I didn't think it was right when I read
- 1:00it first. I'm like, "Okay, now." And
- 1:01then I read the rest and I'm thinking,
- 1:02"Okay, now that makes sense." But still,
- 1:04that's an insane number.
- 1:06>> So, here's what's happening. You know,
- 1:07these strip casinos keep leveraging,
- 1:10leveraging, leveraging, leveraging. And
- 1:12it's at a point now where their debt
- 1:13payments are so large, the interest
- 1:15payments on this,
- 1:16>> it's great,
- 1:16>> on this real estate, on these
- 1:17transactions that they set up is so
- 1:19large that they're barely eating out a
- 1:22profit. It's kind of like the government
- 1:24debt gets so big it becomes how much of
- 1:27this do we
- 1:27>> ceiling where where does it stop?
- 1:30>> So you know trying to run an analogy to
- 1:32government debt and how citizens end up
- 1:34paying for all of it.
- 1:36>> Players are having the same problem.
- 1:37Well it's the same like we're paying for
- 1:40>> all this in the form of parking
- 1:42>> fees in the form of like these crazy
- 1:44drink prices in the form of resort fees
- 1:46and all the other nickel and dime fees
- 1:48that they keep on adding trying to like
- 1:51get their way out of this hole. It makes
- 1:53sense.
- 1:54>> It's an insane number. What I thought
- 1:56was really interesting,
- 1:57>> really, really interesting, I don't know
- 1:58if you like dug into this little tidbit
- 2:00here.
- 2:01>> Fremont Street makes more money than all
- 2:05of the strip.
- 2:05>> I was shocked. I was absolutely shocked
- 2:07>> because again, from a net profit
- 2:08perspective,
- 2:10>> the strip own their land apparently.
- 2:12They own their building. They don't pay
- 2:13rent. They
- 2:15>> I mean, that's what it's got. The way
- 2:17that it explains it is that's what it's
- 2:19got to be. I mean,
- 2:20>> I guess the everything down there,
- 2:23they're not paying the Las Vegas
- 2:26Boulevard prices
- 2:28for these massive
- 2:31land
- 2:32loans that they've taken. I mean, it's
- 2:35got to be such a huge number. The people
- 2:37who own that land that the building sits
- 2:39on or the or the building itself, I
- 2:42don't know.
- 2:42>> Well, here's I think what ends up
- 2:43happening. You think of like MGM as a
- 2:46for instance. they had MGM Grand and
- 2:48then they I don't know what order these
- 2:49things happen in but then they like buy
- 2:51the Bellagio and they got to finance
- 2:52that in and they go like buy Mandalay
- 2:54Bay and Excalibur and again I'm not sure
- 2:56exactly what order all the things happen
- 2:58in but now MGM has leveraged money upon
- 3:02money upon money to get MGM Grand to
- 3:05have Excalibur to have the luxury to
- 3:07have Mandalay Bay to have New York New
- 3:09York to have Monte Carlo
- 3:11>> but they didn't have the money to buy it
- 3:12in the first place I don't understand
- 3:13how
- 3:15>> they could even get approved move to buy
- 3:16something if the margin isn't big
- 3:18enough. If I want to go and buy a car, I
- 3:20have to show that I make enough money to
- 3:22make that payment on that car. And if
- 3:24they're just barely squeaking out a
- 3:26number as big as all the money owed, who
- 3:30keeps loaning them the money?
- 3:31>> Well, here's what like a car,
- 3:32>> they want them to default.
- 3:33>> A car is a depreciating non-income
- 3:35producing asset. So, you have something
- 3:38like a house or a hotel.
- 3:39>> I could use that as that. I can use
- 3:41that. That's fine.
- 3:42>> You have an incomeroucing asset. a house
- 3:44that someone's renting from you, a
- 3:46rental property. So now you have, you
- 3:49know, the the value of the home is X,
- 3:51the the debt on the home is Y, and the
- 3:53income is is Z. And they put that on the
- 3:56computer. It's like, okay, well, now
- 3:57we'll lend you more money to go buy
- 3:59another house because
- 4:01>> this is rented out. It's making money,
- 4:02and you have your debt to income ratio.
- 4:04Well, that's what's happened,
- 4:05>> right? But then it crashes
- 4:06>> and CO happens and then yes,
- 4:08>> you know, or or you know, you start not
- 4:11making enough money. So now you got to
- 4:12start coming up with ways
- 4:14>> finding money and then you get more
- 4:15investors and then those investors want
- 4:17their money back obviously.
- 4:18>> So it's in a precarious spot which has
- 4:20led us to the point where now Caesar's
- 4:21just is selling at a fire sale price.
- 4:24>> Yes. What I think their highest that I
- 4:26ever saw was like 120 a share or
- 4:28something. It was high. It was over 100
- 4:30and and they're selling for less than
- 4:3240.
- 4:32>> It is literally the scene at the end of
- 4:34casino. We've talked about this before.
- 4:36Yeah. where Robert Diero's narrating and
- 4:39they're talking about like how the
- 4:40corporations came in and like tore down
- 4:42this building and built up this thing
- 4:44and like
- 4:45>> and that was 30 or 40 years ago now when
- 4:47that movie came out
- 4:48>> and like that narration is now coming to
- 4:51like this final conclusion that
- 4:52>> so so now is it the corporations being
- 4:56torn down by the by the banks that they
- 4:59owe money to or the investors if you
- 5:01want to say that they owe money to that
- 5:03are like hey we want our money back
- 5:05>> right now you're
- 5:06Right now, at this very moment we're in
- 5:08this, the next person's coming in and
- 5:10assuming the debt,
- 5:11>> right?
- 5:12>> And like passing the baton.
- 5:13>> So, I'm not sure exactly where at some
- 5:15point someone's going to have to write
- 5:16off billions of dollars.
- 5:18>> That's what I'm thinking. What's going
- 5:19to end up happening?
- 5:20>> That's what it sounds like. Yeah.
- 5:22>> Because the Caesar's buyer, you know,
- 5:24for Teddar is assuming the debt. So, no
- 5:26one's writing that debt off. they're not
- 5:28going bankrupt
- 5:28>> and he can afford to
- 5:31>> Well, he financed it and so
- 5:33>> Well, yeah, there were 10 different
- 5:36>> people or banks or whatever that joined
- 5:38to finance, but I still Yeah, it's
- 5:42>> it's amazing to me that that someone
- 5:44like you or I
- 5:46>> would have a hard time buying a house,
- 5:49right,
- 5:49>> based upon
- 5:51>> the income. Even though we have the
- 5:52money in the bank that could pay cash
- 5:54for the house, we can't get a loan
- 5:57because we don't even have an income
- 5:58right now.
- 5:59>> But a guy can say, "Hey, I want to buy
- 6:01Caesars for billions of dollars." And
- 6:04people jumping at it, throwing money at
- 6:07it.
- 6:07>> It's it is a real world weird world that
- 6:09we live in. So,
- 6:10>> and it's defaulting as we speak. Like,
- 6:12it's it's crashing. It's the the numbers
- 6:14don't lie.
- 6:16>> And there's still people that want
- 6:17>> billionaires doing things in Las Vegas.
- 6:19>> Yeah. Uh, Bill Foley has now officially
- 6:21launched his bid to get the NBA
- 6:23franchise,
- 6:24>> which is cool.
- 6:24>> And
- 6:25>> I think it's cool.
- 6:26>> If I were a betting man, which you guys
- 6:27know that I am,
- 6:28>> right?
- 6:29>> I would put my money on him getting the
- 6:30franchise.
- 6:32>> You have a guy with a proven track
- 6:33record here. Look what he's done with
- 6:34the
- 6:34>> That's why I think it's cool. That's
- 6:36exactly why I think that he's proven it
- 6:38with the Knights. I I think that it
- 6:40>> he can do the same.
- 6:41>> He's been good for the city.
- 6:42>> Yes.
- 6:43>> He did he's done a great job with the
- 6:44team. He's got him to the finals three
- 6:45times, got one championship,
- 6:47>> and he's going to get him to hopefully
- 6:48play at T-Mobile,
- 6:49>> which makes sense. I've talked about
- 6:51this over and over again. Why build
- 6:53another one? Yeah. Yeah. We have so many
- 6:55venues. They're already building a
- 6:57baseball field now. And when there's no
- 6:59baseball, they're going to have to fill
- 7:00that with concerts and things.
- 7:02>> So, you've got You want to build a just
- 7:04an NBA stadium? That's insane. Put it
- 7:07with the hockey T-Mobile.
- 7:09>> $300 million to upgrade T-Mobile because
- 7:12And I thought that was funny. This is
- 7:13not I'm not sure what standard this is.
- 7:16>> Well, you know, the NBA players are like
- 7:18princesses and hockey players aren't.
- 7:20Hockey like just give me my pads and my
- 7:22skates. I'm good. You know,
- 7:23>> to be fair, when I go out, I've always
- 7:25felt like it's a kind of a a rugged,
- 7:28rudimentary, okay, nice, you know,
- 7:30stable, nothing, no frrills, no thrills
- 7:32kind of thing.
- 7:33>> So, this would make it
- 7:34>> So, the NBA probably wants like digital
- 7:36marketing all over the walls and stuff.
- 7:38>> I'm thinking it's sweets, food
- 7:40experiences,
- 7:40>> sweets. Yeah, sweet. there aren't a lot
- 7:42of sweet,
- 7:42>> you know, maybe that's why
- 7:43>> they have a level. They do have a sweet
- 7:44level, but I guess maybe they need more.
- 7:46>> I think that, you know, it just again
- 7:48it's there are other stadiums in the
- 7:50league that open around the same time
- 7:53that I think we're a notch or two higher
- 7:55in my opinion. I've been, you know, go
- 7:56to a lot of stadiums.
- 7:57>> Um,
- 7:58>> so
- 7:59>> it's sad to say that this makes sense.
- 8:00It's sad to say that I feel like 300
- 8:02million isn't that much money to upgrade
- 8:05a massive building like that when you
- 8:07hear about the renovations that were
- 8:08just done here and the money they spent
- 8:10here. And this place doesn't look a lot
- 8:12different. It looks newer. I mean, they
- 8:14changed out some of the stone, put new
- 8:17faux walls, but it doesn't look that
- 8:21much different to me. And they blow
- 8:24through millions when they do this kind
- 8:26of stuff.
- 8:26>> I I think that this is by far and away
- 8:29the best plant. You have an arena in a
- 8:32spot that I think works really well.
- 8:35>> One of the best spots in town.
- 8:36>> Parking all around it. You have Las
- 8:38Vegas Boulevard access. You have Frank
- 8:40Sinatra access. You have Frank Sinatra
- 8:42access with an exit that comes right off
- 8:43the highway like almost like right into
- 8:45the parking lot.
- 8:46>> But then all the people that go to these
- 8:48games, which is a large portion that are
- 8:50from out of town.
- 8:51>> There's a lot of rooms within walking
- 8:53distance there. And there's also a
- 8:54Montreal across the street that can get
- 8:56you
- 8:56>> up and down.
- 8:58>> Yeah.
- 9:00that size arena there just the traffic
- 9:01problem is never really that bad there
- 9:03again compared to what I used to deal
- 9:05with as a kid
- 9:06>> going to the capital center going center
- 9:08it was a nightmare
- 9:09>> oh yeah not even close
- 9:11>> and and I've never sat in a nightmare
- 9:13>> think of the streets you're going down
- 9:14that are what two lane three lane four
- 9:17lane at the most in DC
- 9:19>> um just around the city and here you go
- 9:22down Tropicana it's it's eight lanes
- 9:24it's four on each side
- 9:25>> the highway's right there
- 9:26>> the highway's right next like it's such
- 9:28an easy access point.
- 9:29>> I just I'm not I'm not I'm not a fan of
- 9:33>> waste or you know like even though we
- 9:34live in a town of extravagance
- 9:36>> sometimes things feel like
- 9:38>> people are just pissing money out of the
- 9:40wind.
- 9:40>> Why why would they need
- 9:41>> why do we need another two billion
- 9:42dollar building?
- 9:43>> Yeah. I don't doesn't make sense to do
- 9:44what this building can already do.
- 9:46>> Yeah.
- 9:46>> The baseball stadium makes sense because
- 9:48you need a baseball stadium.
- 9:49>> You can't play baseball at two.
- 9:50>> The football stadium makes sense. You
- 9:51need a football stadium. You're going to
- 9:52have a football team
- 9:54>> again.
- 9:55>> And they sell those out all the time.
- 9:57The football stadium at least. And I'm
- 9:58I'm a little bit worried about baseball
- 10:01because it's such a long season.
- 10:02>> I think it's going to do just fine.
- 10:04>> And I I hope it does.
- 10:05>> I really do. I hope it does.
- 10:06>> What this city has proven and again what
- 10:07what's unique about here and nowhere
- 10:09else is that people love to come to
- 10:11Vegas. People love their sports. People
- 10:14bring their sports love to Vegas to go
- 10:16see their team.
- 10:16>> Yeah. It's usually about a 50/50
- 10:19uh people who come to see their team
- 10:21play. And you look around the stands,
- 10:23it's never just like
- 10:24>> unless it's the playoffs.
- 10:25>> Yeah. They'll go playoffs here. I don't
- 10:27think they even sold tickets to people
- 10:28from out of town. There's like a
- 10:30thousand people from the other team.
- 10:31>> Oh my god. The Raiders fans during the
- 10:32playoff games here.
- 10:33>> Yeah.
- 10:34>> Oh, wait a second.
- 10:35>> There's not playoffs for the Raiders.
- 10:37>> Kind of like the Cowboys.
- 10:38>> When the baseball team, which is
- 10:40obviously coming, is here.
- 10:42>> Yeah.
- 10:42>> And we have the NBA team. This will be
- 10:45one of the few cities in the country
- 10:46that has all the major sports,
- 10:48>> which is very cool.
- 10:49>> It's amazing. It was like running
- 10:50through my mind earlier today, and
- 10:53there's only like five or six of them.
- 10:55like New York,
- 10:56>> LA, Dallas, Miami,
- 10:59>> and Washington, and I was Chicago. And
- 11:01then I was like running out of
- 11:03>> running out of places or running out
- 11:04teams. I think maybe Colorado or Denver
- 11:06has it.
- 11:07>> Hockey, baseball, football.
- 11:09>> That's I think that's it. I think that I
- 11:11think that's it.
- 11:11>> Hockey, baseball, football. It's not
- 11:12four sports anymore. What's the four?
- 11:14>> No, Denver has it. It's It's football.
- 11:17>> Yeah, they have
- 11:18>> baseball, basketball,
- 11:19>> Rockies,
- 11:19>> NHL,
- 11:21>> and uh and the Avalanche. And then
- 11:24>> what is the other four? Is it 14? It
- 11:25said five teams.
- 11:26>> What's the fourth sport that I'm missing
- 11:28here?
- 11:29>> Basketball.
- 11:29>> Four. Yeah, basketball. Fourth sport.
- 11:31>> Basketball. I'm forgetting basketball.
- 11:32>> It said five when I was like reading it.
- 11:35Uh any rate, like we're one of the few
- 11:38cities. They
- 11:38>> have a soccer team.
- 11:39>> Is that the soccer? Was it the other
- 11:41one?
- 11:42>> They have they do have soccer teams in
- 11:44LA.
- 11:45>> We're going to have that too here.
- 11:48>> So anyway, we're it's it's I think it's
- 11:50just a a sports marvel. We've talked
- 11:52about this many, many times because we
- 11:54have this dynamic of all these people
- 11:56from out of town come to see their team
- 11:57here and then experience the rest of
- 11:59Vegas along with it. So,
- 12:00>> yeah, it makes it pretty awesome
- 12:02actually. I like it.
- 12:03>> Uh, Gold Spike has sold for 11.4
- 12:05million.
- 12:06>> It seems very cheap. There's houses in
- 12:07this town that are more than that.
- 12:09>> It seems cheap because it's sold for 27
- 12:12million in 2013.
- 12:13>> Yeah.
- 12:13>> So, almost a 2/3 haircut.
- 12:16>> Yeah. It's It's nothing special. It's
- 12:18downtown. We've been there. We did a
- 12:20like a pub crawl through there one night
- 12:23um in onesies. Uh I don't think we have
- 12:25footage of that and I'm pretty happy
- 12:26about that. U but yes, it's uh it was
- 12:30bought back by Tony. Remember I think
- 12:32you were there
- 12:34>> was a Zappos guy. He uh he we we met
- 12:37him, ran into him at one of the speak
- 12:39easyies downtown one night. Never
- 12:41stopped working and then uh he was he
- 12:44passed away.
- 12:45>> He was revitalizing downtown. It's
- 12:47pretty attractive. It was pretty crazy
- 12:48actually. I don't want to get into it.
- 12:50>> No, we don't need to get into it. But he
- 12:51he was really putting a lot of money
- 12:53into downtown. Um and that was about the
- 12:57time when we went to that to the Gold
- 13:00Spike. A lot of fun outdoor back area,
- 13:03lots of like oversized games, Jenga and
- 13:05stuff like you know you can play with
- 13:07like uh you can play beer pong with like
- 13:09soccer balls and massive cups and yeah
- 13:13it is a fun place to check out but
- 13:15doesn't get a lot of business. I I don't
- 13:17know why they're buying it. I if they
- 13:19hopefully they're going to do something
- 13:20big with it, make it a place to go.
- 13:22Maybe turn it into something else. It
- 13:24didn't have gaming.
- 13:26>> Yeah. Well, it has a license though.
- 13:28>> It has a license, but it didn't have
- 13:29gaming when we were there.
- 13:30>> He has a grandfather unrestricted Nevada
- 13:32game license, which is really coveted.
- 13:34>> Very good.
- 13:34>> It It's kind of a sad ending to all this
- 13:36because he did so much good for the
- 13:38city,
- 13:39>> especially for downtown Vegas. He really
- 13:41helped revitalize that whole area. it
- 13:43was on this trajectory and but his
- 13:45vision when he passed away and it just
- 13:48goes to show you like no matter how much
- 13:50you have and how hard you work or
- 13:52whatever as soon as you're gone like a
- 13:54lot of things just go away and people
- 13:56kind of forget
- 13:57>> and Zapos man his employees oh
- 13:59>> they all loved them
- 14:00>> loved them loved him
- 14:02>> great one of the greatest places to work
- 14:04is what I was told by everyone that I
- 14:07ever met that either knew him or worked
- 14:09for Zapos one of the greatest companies
- 14:11to work for
- 14:12>> his plan for the quote unquote downtown
- 14:14project there which included where the
- 14:16Zapos headquarters is
- 14:18>> and all things around it including Gold
- 14:19Spike just kind of is all completely
- 14:21unraveled. So it's like no one even
- 14:23knows that that even exists.
- 14:24>> Have someone with a vision that's that's
- 14:25there all the time. I am glad to see
- 14:29at least from the perspective of what he
- 14:31started is progressing in other parts of
- 14:34that area because the arts district
- 14:36>> happening and and everything else
- 14:38>> it's changed a lot
- 14:39>> is all a part of what he was like the
- 14:41investment he started there
- 14:43>> put other people's money on the line as
- 14:45well like we're going to follow in his
- 14:47lead and and
- 14:48>> things had kind of like progressed so
- 14:49much by the time he passed and all the
- 14:51other things were in motion so much that
- 14:53those things are all still happening and
- 14:54it's now a snowball I think that's going
- 14:56continue to perpetuate in that area.
- 14:58It's really nice.
- 14:58>> I really do like theirs what they've
- 15:00done. Yeah, it's nice. It's awesome.
- 15:02>> Oh, your old slumping grounds in South
- 15:03Point. It's the richest bingo events in
- 15:06Nevada.
- 15:06>> This is crazy. They've done a few of
- 15:08these, but they were smaller.
- 15:09>> Um and it was funny cuz when I would
- 15:12come and go from the poker room to to my
- 15:14car, um there was there were all these
- 15:17people with bingo shirts and bags with
- 15:19dobbers and all this stuff. And I was
- 15:20thinking, is it really that these people
- 15:22are crazy? They really get into this.
- 15:24And now $2 million summer bingo.
- 15:27>> What is going on with this?
- 15:28>> It's gigantic.
- 15:29>> But he knows how to pull in the old
- 15:30school stuff. Man,
- 15:32>> this guy over there is is
- 15:33>> July 17th and 18th. So like right around
- 15:35the corner from when this publishes
- 15:36>> Michael Gong, he's he's he knows how to
- 15:40get stuff done. He pulls people. I will
- 15:43walk through a casino other than South
- 15:46Point and there's, you know, there's
- 15:48people, but not not everywhere. Not
- 15:50packed. That place is packed. Friday,
- 15:52Saturday nights. Yeah.
- 15:54>> Packed. Every single machine. It's
- 15:56crazy.
- 15:57>> It reminds me of our time in Hole.
- 15:59>> Yeah.
- 15:59>> That place packed as well.
- 16:00>> It was. It was.
- 16:02>> Yeah.
- 16:02>> Uh $495 gets you a nine pack, food
- 16:06coupons, and a an adobber.
- 16:08>> Yeah. But it's pretty much sold out
- 16:10already. So, that's just We're just
- 16:12letting you know what other people have
- 16:13already paid.
- 16:13>> If you want to buy someone else's ticket
- 16:14for $800, you can probably get into it
- 16:16still. Probably selling.
- 16:18>> I doubt it. I doubt they would sell. If
- 16:20they got a ticket, they're not selling.
- 16:22These people, they're die hards. It's
- 16:24the truth. I'm telling you, they're die
- 16:25hards.
- 16:26>> We do. We play bingo every once in a
- 16:28while for fun. They do a one here
- 16:29actually. Rocking
- 16:31bingo. They play uh they play rock music
- 16:34the whole time or whatever. They they
- 16:35hand out jello shots and if you're ever
- 16:38interested, it's a lot of fun at Green
- 16:39Valley Ranch. They do that here.
- 16:41>> Uh another story of wish was not
- 16:44winning.
- 16:46>> We haven't even hit a grand jackpot. Not
- 16:47one of the mega bucks. $10.3 million
- 16:49hits at the Westgate. This is a little a
- 16:52mistake here when I read through this.
- 16:53>> Oh yeah.
- 16:54>> Yeah.
- 16:55>> Uh stay wide progressive that resets at
- 16:5710 million every time it's won. So this
- 16:59was near the top of the range. That's
- 17:01not the top. That's the start of the
- 17:03range. Yeah. Um I've had someone that I
- 17:06knew was a cocktail waitress here when I
- 17:09worked at Green Valley years and years
- 17:10and years ago. Uh she hit it at the end.
- 17:1417 million and change. You know the
- 17:17500,000 or whatever. We don't add that
- 17:19in. But
- 17:20>> when she hit that, did she come in here
- 17:21when the PA be like
- 17:22>> No.
- 17:23>> have one of those.
- 17:23>> She didn't even come back here.
- 17:24>> They didn't bother.
- 17:25>> No, she actually didn't. Hey,
- 17:27>> it's people that are here. We know.
- 17:28>> Hey, people we know.
- 17:30>> It's degeneration
- 17:32>> doing our podcast.
- 17:34>> It's the middle of the podcast.
- 17:36>> Well, that's how we roll.
- 17:37>> It wasn't We didn't hit the mega bucks.
- 17:39>> We did not hit me bucks,
- 17:40>> but we we
- 17:41>> we're almost done.
- 17:41>> We've hit a mega bucks of friends that
- 17:44>> one just locked up right now.
- 17:45>> Well, how can we go wrong? So,
- 17:47>> we have 10 10.3 million followers.
- 17:50>> Yeah, that would be nice.
- 17:51>> That would be cool.
- 17:52>> That would be nice.
- 17:52>> Guys, I thought this was an interesting
- 17:54Mrs. Dent actually mentioned this
- 17:56>> milestone.
- 17:56>> It just it's like a year where like all
- 17:58these things are coming together. You
- 17:59got the flamingo turning 80, which was
- 18:01how it all started.
- 18:02>> The first mega resort.
- 18:04>> Yeah.
- 18:04>> Of December 26th, 1946.
- 18:06>> Okay.
- 18:07>> So, that'll be 80 years.
- 18:09>> The oldest surviving resort on the
- 18:10strip, the old Bugsy Seagull thing. They
- 18:12got Caesar's Palace, which I didn't
- 18:14quite put together that this was that
- 18:15old. 60 year anniversary this year.
- 18:16August 5th, 1966.
- 18:19>> They're all
- 18:19>> station casinos, which we're in right
- 18:21now. Thank you stations for having us
- 18:22here. 50th anniversary, they had what
- 18:25became Palis Station. July 1st, 1976.
- 18:28>> 76. Yeah,
- 18:29>> I'm a bsentennial baby, so it's a fun
- 18:31year for me as well.
- 18:32>> They do a lot of uh things out here at
- 18:35stations specifically for these big
- 18:37momentum.
- 18:38>> This is a big year.
- 18:39>> Movers. Yeah,
- 18:40>> year.$1.99
- 18:41margarita at the bar.
- 18:43>> Well, maybe we'll go to that right after
- 18:44this. Let's go.
- 18:45>> Uh the Strats turning 30.
- 18:46>> If you've never been to the top of that,
- 18:48you got to go check that out.
- 18:48>> April 30, 1996.
- 18:51>> That opened shortly uh before my first
- 18:54trip here,
- 18:55>> right?
- 18:56>> Uh Park MGM, which is now
- 18:59>> Oh, sorry. Mon Carala, which is now Park
- 19:01MGM.
- 19:02>> And I had no idea this was that old cuz
- 19:03I I this opened shortly before my first
- 19:05came because we used to stay there. It
- 19:06was my favorite spot.
- 19:07>> Monte Carlo June 21st, 1996.
- 19:11>> So all those things are happening uh
- 19:13this year. all those big anniversaries.
- 19:14So, if you're in Vegas, go by, stop and
- 19:16pay homage to uh to those places.
- 19:18>> There's an honorable mention for the
- 19:19Hoover Dam was just named to the Las
- 19:20Vegas Magazine's 2026 Hall of Fame. Um
- 19:24if you've never done the damn tour, get
- 19:26out here and do it.
- 19:26>> Go do a damn tour.
- 19:27>> Do the damn tour.
- 19:28>> Go do it. It's pretty wild.
- 19:29>> Yeah, it's cool to see before before it
- 19:31stops moving before it stops producing
- 19:32power.
- 19:33>> It's still drying. The concrete's still
- 19:34curing and it leaks. Like there's like
- 19:36>> It's crazy.
- 19:37>> It's like a like the lay caverns where
- 19:38like it's like drip drip inside the uh
- 19:41>> inside. This is kind of a small story,
- 19:42but I think it's
- 19:44>> I I threw this in here cuz I see a lot
- 19:45of people that travel.
- 19:46>> Yes.
- 19:46>> Either that live here or, you know,
- 19:47whatever. But prices are always going
- 19:50up.
- 19:50>> So, long-term parking uh here at Harry
- 19:53Reed Airport is going to 20 bucks a day.
- 19:54It was 14.
- 19:56>> Uh and then short-term parking is also
- 19:58going up with a $38 a day max.
- 20:00>> It's only a couple bucks and they've
- 20:02actually waited seven years to increase
- 20:03this. So, it's not it's not that drastic
- 20:06of a thing, I don't think. I know
- 20:08everybody thinks you're being nickeled
- 20:09and dimed everywhere you turn, but
- 20:11you've got to think this. It's been 7
- 20:12years since they've up the prices. I
- 20:15think it was kind of due for an increase
- 20:16a couple bucks. Not a big deal.
- 20:18>> I'm happy they were doing it because
- 20:19every time I think about do I drive and
- 20:22park there or take the Uber, now
- 20:24justifies the
- 20:25>> the Uber.
- 20:26>> Yeah, we Uber anyway.
- 20:27>> So,
- 20:27>> we never park there.
- 20:28>> Yeah.
- 20:29>> All right. Uh to end today, Las Vegas
- 20:32was just named the number one conference
- 20:33city in America.
- 20:34>> I like it.
- 20:34>> Uh best conference city for 2026, 2027.
- 20:37I don't know how they know hotels next
- 20:39year, but
- 20:40>> uh it it's this constant counterweight
- 20:42to the Vegas is struggling, I think, cuz
- 20:44the conference market continues to do
- 20:45well here. I mean, it makes a lot of
- 20:47sense. I, you know, would want to throw
- 20:49a conference here myself. You have all
- 20:51the conference space. You have whether
- 20:52it's at the Las Vegas Convention Center,
- 20:54which is now linked up with all the the
- 20:55the Tesla Loop stuff, which is really
- 20:57convenient, or you have it at the
- 20:58Venetian, or you have it at the Win, or
- 21:00you have it at Mandalay. Plenty of hotel
- 21:02rooms, lots of great food. Um, plenty of
- 21:05late night entertainment in this town. I
- 21:07don't know if you know about that.
- 21:08>> There is.
- 21:08>> I don't know about it, but I've heard
- 21:10entertainment.
- 21:10>> I mean, lot to do here.
- 21:12>> Food's okay.
- 21:12>> Food's great.
- 21:13>> There's some shows.
- 21:15>> Forget about it.
- 21:16>> There's like a the 5:00 magic show over
- 21:18at the Westgate.
- 21:19>> Yeah, that's where I'm heading later.
- 21:20>> J Kmart. She She does a good job.
- 21:23>> Yeah.
- 21:23>> Well, that's about it.
- 21:24>> All right. You might come do this again
- 21:26next week?
- 21:27>> Let's come do this next week. We'll see
- 21:28you then. Byebye. Don't forget to hit
- 21:30like and subscribe.
