- 0:00All right. We've just been staring into the lens
- 0:05for like a while because this is our first in
- 0:09-person recording. If you guys are just listening,
- 0:12you probably don't know that. So we don't know
- 0:14how to do in -person recordings yet. We're awkward.
- 0:18We just got back from MadCon. We intended on
- 0:23doing one of those Monday bonus episodes live.
- 0:27in person we have like a two mic setup that we
- 0:29were gonna bring and record during the event
- 0:32but um we were too busy a little bit a little
- 0:36too busy we were too busy it was it was too good
- 0:40of an event uh to stop and record for an hour
- 0:44so that's just a testament to madison seminary
- 0:48to the entire mad crew How much people love it.
- 0:52The event raised over $13 ,000 for the Cystic
- 0:55Fibrosis Foundation. This is incredible. It's
- 0:58an incredible event. And spooky season is officially
- 1:02upon us. So while we're still here, we literally
- 1:07just got back last night from Madison, Ohio.
- 1:10We wanted to get together and still crank out
- 1:13a normal episode at the very least. We'll do
- 1:16some Monday bonuses of the next couple events.
- 1:19Now we're in person. Let's talk for a normal
- 1:23pod about spooky season. Spooky season. And I'm
- 1:27not just talking about pumpkin spice. We'll get
- 1:29to the pumpkin spice debate later. We'll save
- 1:31the fun stuff for the end. But people do say
- 1:35that this season, spooky season, Halloween time
- 1:40is when the veil between our life and the next
- 1:44life is at its thinnest. We're going to be talking
- 1:47about October. Through a paranormal lens. Welcome
- 1:51to our podcast where we take deep dives looking
- 1:53at various topics through a paranormal lens.
- 1:57We are recording this right at that time of year
- 2:01where we are flipping our clocks back, turning
- 2:06them back, getting ready for October and all
- 2:10that Halloween has to bring. It's September 21st.
- 2:14The 21st. Night of September. I forgot. You remembered.
- 2:19I remembered. He didn't. I did not remember the
- 2:2121st of September. Anyways, we'll get into the
- 2:25fun stuff after. The main conceit of this podcast
- 2:29is, do you guys believe that the veil is at its
- 2:34thinnest this time of year? Do you even believe
- 2:36that different times of year can contribute to
- 2:40more or less activity? Yeah, I think. It's definitely
- 2:44seen or I feel like I felt that paranormal activity
- 2:51really does amp up around this period of the
- 2:55season. Is that because of some sort of other
- 2:58supernatural phenomenon that's going on, like
- 3:01the veil being thin? Or is it because people
- 3:03are more into the spookiness and have that energy
- 3:09and are in a sense inviting? In the spookiness
- 3:15of the season. Maybe both. I'd add a third option.
- 3:20We tend to do, as we kind of alluded to before,
- 3:23we have all these events this time of year. We,
- 3:25especially now that we're like an LLC and we're
- 3:29doing tours and more events, we're just doing
- 3:32more. So more tends to happen when you're, you
- 3:35know, putting yourself in more. uh uh more locations
- 3:39and in more environments to experience activity
- 3:42it's not like how many events are we doing in
- 3:44january for example none right now exactly so
- 3:48sad who in northern michigan is driving through
- 3:51the blizzard to go investigate a cemetery i mean
- 3:53yeah no not me yeah so um i that might contribute
- 3:59to why no one's talking about january being the
- 4:03most haunted season um What about you, Angela?
- 4:07I mean, I've never really thought about it until
- 4:11I met you guys. I mean, I've only been investigating
- 4:14for like three years. I started in 2022 and I've
- 4:19just, I mean, I wouldn't have thought about it.
- 4:22I thought it'd be haunted. I mean, things would
- 4:24be active throughout the whole year. I mean,
- 4:26that is the case, but like ramped up activity.
- 4:30Definitely. Yeah. Makes a difference. When you
- 4:33did your couple, because you started really investigating
- 4:36once you met us, but you have done investigations
- 4:39in the past, like ghost tours and that sort of
- 4:41stuff. Yeah. Were those all around Halloween
- 4:43time? No. No? That was in like spring. Okay.
- 4:48So around the spring time is really when you...
- 4:50Yeah, but I mean, isn't that another thing too?
- 4:52Like the beginning of spring, that's usually
- 4:55another thin veil too that people usually...
- 5:00see a lot of activity too yeah yeah and we'll
- 5:03get back to that later um first let's kind of
- 5:07close the chapter on halloween temporarily halloween
- 5:13we've done stuff on halloween itself on all hallows
- 5:19eve you know the whole month of october is it
- 5:25what's your final thoughts is halloween itself
- 5:27and i do have some data to share with you in
- 5:30a moment if we want to transition to that but
- 5:32do you guys feel anything around fall just even
- 5:36outside of investigations do you feel something
- 5:38in the air that's different than the air maybe
- 5:42in spring or summer i i don't i don't know but
- 5:44people feel i mean no it feels the same to me
- 5:49it's just when you're out seeking these type
- 5:53of things You're going to find it more during
- 5:56each time of year. I don't think it feels different.
- 5:58Yeah. I think, I don't know. It's, it's hard
- 6:01to say because yes, it feels different. But is
- 6:04that just because it is the change of the seasons
- 6:07and the spooky time and spooky time inviting
- 6:11the spookiness and all that jazz. It's, it's
- 6:16hard to say. Cause like, if we didn't celebrate
- 6:18Halloween or. All Hallows' Eve or All Saints'
- 6:22Day or Dia de los Muertos, would we have the
- 6:27same feelings? Like, if someone didn't know about
- 6:31the holidays, would they also feel the change?
- 6:37I don't know if that makes sense. That is. I
- 6:40mean, you get in the... Mindset. We'll get to
- 6:43the fun stuff after. I promise everyone. We'll
- 6:45get to the pumpkin spice. The favorite Halloween
- 6:48time movie. What does pumpkin spice have to do
- 6:49with all of this? It's the signature scent or
- 6:53flavor of Halloween. The scent of pumpkin spice
- 6:59attracts the ghost. Yes. 100%. That is fact.
- 7:05Smell it and you're like, ooh, gotta go to this
- 7:08person. Gotta go haunt people. But it doesn't
- 7:12actually, I mean, we'll get, again, you guys
- 7:14really want to talk about pumpkin spice. I mean,
- 7:16I don't have to hand it up, but I know. I really
- 7:18don't want pumpkin spice. But, like, it doesn't
- 7:19smell like pumpkin. It smells like cinnamon.
- 7:22Yeah. So, I mean, so, like, vampires hate garlic
- 7:27and ghosts love cinnamon? Is that what you're?
- 7:30Hey, that's a good thing. What is cinnamon used
- 7:34for, like, in, for things, you know? What? What
- 7:41kind of things? What do you mean? Like spells
- 7:44and things like that. I thought you were asking
- 7:48about baking and stuff and recipes. It's like
- 7:51it can be used in anything, Angela. No, I'm talking
- 7:53about like in witchcraft and making spells and
- 7:57that type of thing. Like what is cinnamon used
- 7:59for? That's something you can look up on your
- 8:03own time. No, but maybe like was pumpkin spice?
- 8:09and you're using cinnamon and that type of thing
- 8:11a lot, then maybe that's throughout the whole
- 8:15year. Maybe that's contributing to it. I don't
- 8:20know. Long stretch. Your long stretch is if more
- 8:24witches drink pumpkin spice year -round, the
- 8:29world would be a more haunted place. It looks
- 8:32like Bree's looking it up. um and all the people
- 8:39that can't see she typed wag is cinnamon no i
- 8:44said and then it had to auto correct to what
- 8:47um it is in witchcraft used to speed up spell
- 8:53work and enhance manifestation uh for prosperity
- 8:57love protection and spiritual awareness oh that
- 9:01is an ai overview it's not actually something
- 9:04from like a real person yeah but still but spiritual
- 9:08awareness spiritual awareness maybe more people
- 9:11are more uh when the veil is more open and there's
- 9:15more spiritual awareness with the cinnamon and
- 9:18the pumpkin spice maybe a location is more haunted
- 9:22when there's a pumpkin spice latte around because
- 9:24who doesn't go ghost hunting with coffee i mean
- 9:28the amount of times i've like just gone and you
- 9:31know even just doing b -roll i always get pumpkin
- 9:34spice yeah you know this time of year this time
- 9:37of the year who isn't if you're going on a paranormal
- 9:40investigation or or a ghost tour or not even
- 9:43specifically like going on a ghost hunt but just
- 9:47someone who's got tickets to go to a haunted
- 9:49place to like do a tour they're probably going
- 9:52to bring a coffee with them and because of the
- 9:55season it's more than likely going to be a pumpkin
- 9:57spice coffee of some sort So is that enhancing
- 10:00their spiritual awareness and having more activity
- 10:04happen? We were making fun of Angela a little
- 10:06bit, but she might be honest. She might be honest.
- 10:08It's not as long of a stretch. Because like,
- 10:11you know, that could be, I mean, a spell is really
- 10:14just a recipe. Yeah, it is. So if the recipe
- 10:17is, you know, you're watching all these horror
- 10:20movies, you're in the mindset, you're going to
- 10:23investigation, maybe meditating before, even
- 10:25if you're not like a practicing witch or anything.
- 10:28or even psychic and you're opening yourself up
- 10:31having that cinnamon both as a flavor and a scent
- 10:36you know adding to the mix this time of year
- 10:41could be the one ingredient that pushes the recipe
- 10:47into perception land also at the same time think
- 10:53about how long saying like the fall is like thinner
- 10:59veil how long that has been going on for has
- 11:04been cinnamon been used during that time of the
- 11:06year for like thousands of years i don't know
- 11:11i mean but also you got to think about it too
- 11:14because like we kind of touched on using curses
- 11:19and spells and stuff in the previous podcast
- 11:21about curses like if you are putting cinnamon
- 11:24in your coffee but don't think of it as spell
- 11:29work. Does it hold any validity? Oh my god, am
- 11:33I witnessing abuse? For all the people that are
- 11:36just watching, so as soon as Britta mentioned
- 11:39curses, a car outside started honking its horn,
- 11:44so we kind of smirked, and then she bumped into
- 11:46me, like a full -on brawl broke out. I think
- 11:52I might have to call the cops. Is Angela cursed?
- 11:57Physical abuse. Angela's not cursed. Go back
- 12:01and listen to our podcast about curses. Yeah.
- 12:06There's that as well. Episode 3. Even people
- 12:10that listened to the episode came out with the
- 12:13conclusion that she is cursed even though the
- 12:14conclusion was she's not cursed. Wait, what?
- 12:17People didn't really listen to the full thing.
- 12:19They just listened to like 5 minutes and they're
- 12:20like, Angela's cursed. I'm like, did you listen
- 12:22to it? The point was she's not cursed. But maybe
- 12:26she is. You never know. I'm not. I'm not cursed.
- 12:29No. I gotta wear shoulder pads next time we do
- 12:31it in person. We're recording. Anyway, what were
- 12:35you talking about, Bree, before we got started?
- 12:37I was just saying, like, if you're not using
- 12:41cinnamon or pumpkin spice in your drink with
- 12:44the intent of it being spell work, is it gonna
- 12:49still be valid? That's true, because, like we
- 12:51said... curses and spells i feel like it's a
- 12:54lot of intention but what we said before even
- 13:00if you're not going in with the intent of i'm
- 13:03gonna you know conjure a ghost tonight right
- 13:06but you have an intent to experience activity
- 13:09when you go on a ghost hunt so that's like an
- 13:12intent and there is the intent for like oh i'm
- 13:15getting a fall drink for the spooky season yes
- 13:18it's spooky pumpkin spice yay Halloween so anyways
- 13:26so I think you were gonna say something and then
- 13:32we went on a cinnamon and pumpkin spice rant
- 13:35this is what we do on Paranormal Lens we kind
- 13:38of make a joke about something and then realize
- 13:40wait we're onto something and then go down this
- 13:42big rabbit hole where the use of cinnamon and
- 13:48pumpkin spice drinks and bringing your pumpkin
- 13:52spice drink to a ghost tour might actually be
- 13:55spell work in a way. So many people don't realize
- 14:01that it's actually a spell and it's kind of crazy.
- 14:03Yeah, we had to spell it out for people. What's
- 14:07Brianna, what is pumpkin spice used for in witchcraft?
- 14:15Oh, there's other ingredients to pumpkin spice
- 14:18that we didn't mention. Cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg,
- 14:20and clove. Okay, but those are all things he
- 14:23uses in spells a lot of the times. Yeah, it's
- 14:26the same type of thing. Abundance, protection,
- 14:28spiritual awareness. So what is clove and nutmeg
- 14:32and ginger often used for? I'm not going to look
- 14:36up every single one. I think that's a tangent.
- 14:41If the viewers want to look into it, they can.
- 14:43If you want to look into it, Angela, you can.
- 14:46I'm not going to take up half the podcast looking
- 14:48up individual spices. We did the predominant
- 14:52ingredient. Now we're getting into the nitty
- 14:54gritty. No one drinks pumpkin spice or brings
- 14:58pumpkin spice and it's like, do I smell clove?
- 15:02I love the strong clove aroma. Am I getting a
- 15:08hint of nutmeg? Oh, maybe there's just a little
- 15:13sprinkle of ginger in there. Aren't you technically
- 15:17a ginger? No. Your hair looks more blonde. It
- 15:22depends on the season. No, I don't dye my hair.
- 15:28Disregard. Depends on the season. It sometimes
- 15:31looks ginger. Okay. Well, maybe we'll do a fun
- 15:35blog post. Don't... In front of the mic. Sorry.
- 15:40She's not used to this. We had to tell her not
- 15:44to slurp a coffee drink into the mic earlier.
- 15:48Let's insert that audio. You wanna? Yes. So now
- 16:01that you guys all... experience that that i do
- 16:06have some data to share with you guys i did this
- 16:08a little bit ago unrelated to this podcast but
- 16:10i forgot about it and then this jogged my memory
- 16:12we between 2017 and 2021 made a web series during
- 16:19our undergrad and college called afterlife road
- 16:21a haunted michigan web series we investigated
- 16:23over 200 of the most allegedly haunted locations
- 16:28in michigan when they say we Those two. Not me.
- 16:32I'm out of the picture. This is going to get
- 16:34interesting because Angela said she met us in
- 16:372022. 2023. I started investigating in 2022.
- 16:43Officially investigating. She started investigating
- 16:44in 2022. Met us in 2023. All this data, this
- 16:49web series and everything, was between 2017 and
- 16:532022 -ish. Give or take. What I did was I took
- 17:00Because after we graduated college, investigations
- 17:03became more sporadic and we don't really have
- 17:06data on like the exact dates that we necessarily
- 17:10did everything. And we didn't always record things
- 17:13or like write down what happened on these investigations.
- 17:17We were just doing them to do them in the moment
- 17:19and have fun. Right. So I realized we have 200
- 17:25investigations from a set period of time that
- 17:27have dates. And we have the videos to be able
- 17:32to, if I, because a lot of the cemeteries, especially,
- 17:35because every cemetery, slight tangent, every
- 17:38cemetery is Riverside Cemetery, Riverbend Cemetery,
- 17:41Oak Grove Cemetery, Oak Hill Cemetery. Maple
- 17:44Crest. Maple Hill. Maple Road. So all the cemeteries
- 17:51ever to exist are named after the river, hill,
- 17:54or trees nearby. Yeah. Can we innovate? The cemetery
- 17:59naming industry? I mean, there are some out there
- 18:02that are different and have names like Striker.
- 18:05There should be a pumpkin spice cemetery. But
- 18:07that's named after a person. A person. Pumpkin
- 18:09spice. Pumpkin spice cemetery. Pumpkin spice
- 18:12cemetery. Or pumpkin cemetery and spice cemetery.
- 18:15And they're on opposite sides of the town. Or
- 18:17road. That'd be really cool. And then the road
- 18:20name is just coffee. Or Latte. Latte Road. Latte
- 18:27Road. We have a latte, good ideas. But anyways,
- 18:32going back to the data. So we had all these 200
- 18:36investigations worth of data on locations, experiences,
- 18:40and dates. So what I did was I went through every
- 18:45single one of these investigations, over 200,
- 18:48and I gave each one just... First instinct, a
- 18:52rating between 1 and 3. 1 being not haunted.
- 18:562 being, yeah, there's activity, can't deny that,
- 18:59but it's not really memorable. 3 being, okay,
- 19:03this one is a standout, in a league of its own,
- 19:06S tier, super fucking haunted. Crazy shit happens
- 19:11there. Crazy. Like, 3 is crazy, guys. Which didn't
- 19:16happen very often, but it did. It was crazy.
- 19:19Being ghost hunters. Being ghost hunters. We
- 19:22don't experience activity often, but when we
- 19:24do. Anyways. They're crazy. Anyways, so we have
- 19:34this data and there are some interesting results
- 19:37because I went through and initially I asked
- 19:40it to just graph. All the three out of threes,
- 19:44the crazy shit, put on a graph over the span
- 19:47of the four or five years, all the three out
- 19:50of three most haunted locations. And there were
- 19:54two times a year where all the three out of threes
- 19:58happened. October. Okay. And February slash March.
- 20:07Okay. But then I went through and I realized
- 20:09most of our investigations. we're in october
- 20:13because as we said at the top of this we tend
- 20:17to do a lot of events we you know there's a sort
- 20:21of a societal pressure especially when we're
- 20:24making things like podcasts and stuff to release
- 20:27things in october right we need to have stuff
- 20:31out that's when people are wanting to watch this
- 20:33stuff you know is i always joke it's kind of
- 20:36stupid to release a paranormal movie in november
- 20:39yeah kind of like because everyone's kind of
- 20:41over it at that point yeah you missed a boat
- 20:43by like three weeks what was the matter during
- 20:45november then we get the real faint spooky fans
- 20:49we get the real fans we get that that's like
- 20:52we don't get the if you're listening to this
- 20:57in november you're a real fan reach out across
- 21:01roads of curiosity cure what's her email Listen,
- 21:06I don't even need to tell you because you're
- 21:08such a real fan. If you're a real fan, you would
- 21:15know our email. You will tell us our email because
- 21:18we're not a fan of ourselves, but you're a fan
- 21:22for us. You will know our email. You're never
- 21:27over it. Why does this all sound vaguely like
- 21:33a threat? Like, I feel like now they're not going
- 21:40to want to reach out to us. Unless they know
- 21:45our email. If you don't reach out to us, then
- 21:49you're not a fan. And how dare you? I don't want
- 21:55my fans. What are we doing? Oh my god. I don't
- 22:07even remember what we were talking about. Oh,
- 22:09November. Okay. Anyways, so then I, to clarify
- 22:15and reiterate, the most three out of three, most
- 22:20haunted places we've ever investigated, all of
- 22:22the three out of threes, no outliers, were between,
- 22:26or only occurring between the months of October,
- 22:29February, and March, which were the three months
- 22:31where all the three out of threes happened. Then
- 22:33I realized... like I said we've done most investigations
- 22:39in October plus in 2017 when we started that
- 22:42was fall semester of college so we started in
- 22:45October so we don't have you know the data from
- 22:49earlier in that year you know so there is more
- 22:53there's some more opportunities to have three
- 22:55out of three so what I did was then I went through
- 22:57and I took the average of each month during those
- 23:00four years so October 2017, October 2018, October
- 23:042019, etc. And I created an average number of
- 23:08the 1, 2, and 3. 1 being not haunted, 2 being
- 23:11haunted, 3 being crazy shit of every month. So
- 23:15now we're just looking at the averages of months
- 23:17from this sample size. And I looked at every
- 23:21month that had an average rating of 2 .5 or higher.
- 23:25Okay. So then we narrowed it down. And now we
- 23:30have 1. Time of year where there's an average,
- 23:35in our experience, during undergrad, 200 plus
- 23:38investigations, one time of year stood out compared
- 23:42to all the others as having an average rating
- 23:45of 2 .5 or higher out of three. Can you guess
- 23:50what time of year that was? Spooky time of year.
- 23:54Is it going to be Halloween or is there going
- 23:56to be that time span between February and March?
- 23:58That's the question. Because... Honestly, if
- 24:01I'm thinking about it, I feel like we have had
- 24:05our spookiest stuff happen in the February to
- 24:08March timeframe. What do you think, Angela? I
- 24:14think you're going to say October, Halloween
- 24:17timeframe. Ooh, I got to be the deciding... You're
- 24:22the one who has the facts, so there's no deciding.
- 24:24Yeah, that's right. Facts. Yeah, you're not deciding,
- 24:27you're telling us. The winner is... Now's the
- 24:32time you get to do this. She's been wanting to
- 24:35do this so long. Brianna wins. Really? Holy fuck.
- 24:42Oh, yeah. Wow. Excuse me. Not like you haven't
- 24:49said worse. I don't know. I wasn't expecting
- 24:54it. I'm going to be honest. I wasn't expecting
- 24:56that. But they would know. They would know more
- 24:59than me. And that's continued. We have made,
- 25:03at this point, four short films. We did a trilogy
- 25:08of short films called Afterlife, Timeless Spaces,
- 25:12and Dweller. And then recently we relaunched
- 25:14with a film called The Possession Tapes. Can
- 25:18you guess what month all four of those was filmed
- 25:22in? Oh my gosh. Like, literally. In the spring
- 25:26time frame. I would say between March and May.
- 25:29Yeah. I can get more specific. Well, I mean,
- 25:32we've filmed Dweller in April. No, we filmed
- 25:36Dweller in March. Oh, I thought it was April.
- 25:38Yeah, never mind. It was the whole point. Because,
- 25:40you know, your birthday. It was my birthday.
- 25:43You filmed it on my birthday. I was thinking
- 25:45your birthday was in April and not March. I'm
- 25:47a terrible friend, obviously. Why was that? I'm
- 25:52not going to say it. Say that again, Bree. Say
- 25:54it again? No. All right. So we filmed Dweller,
- 26:00which won best new media slash TV feature. I
- 26:05don't think I'm getting that right. What did
- 26:06it win? I don't know. Best something. New media?
- 26:11Hey, if you're one of the November listeners,
- 26:14tell us what Dweller won at the Midwest Weird
- 26:18Fest last year. Actually, it was this year, right?
- 26:23Please tell us in that email. Also let us know
- 26:26our email. Also let us know not to drive to Ohio
- 26:33and back in a 24 hour span because we need sleep.
- 26:36Do you want to be our new HR manager? Because
- 26:43it's too much for me. Free is the HR manager.
- 26:48Me and Ben made the decision that Brie is the
- 26:51most responsible to use our HR manager, more
- 26:54of ghost manager. We're just repeating a bit
- 27:00from last week now. Yep. Please stand by. We
- 27:06filmed Dweller on my birthday in March. We went
- 27:09back a year later, literally the same weekend,
- 27:12just a, woohoo, same weekend we filmed Dweller.
- 27:14What ended up happening then turned into... The
- 27:18possession tape. Possession tape. And then rewinding
- 27:22to Time of Spaces, we filmed that beginning of
- 27:26March. It would have been spring break. Rewind
- 27:28to Afterlife, we filmed most of that, most of
- 27:33the new footage in March. Yeah. There are a few
- 27:36interviews that I did into April. So all the
- 27:40major films we've done were filmed during March.
- 27:43And then if you think about it, that actually
- 27:45makes sense because... A, like I said, spring
- 27:48break. That's, you know, we would have free time.
- 27:52It's between right when a new semester is starting.
- 27:55Not a lot is happening. We're coming out of hibernation
- 27:59when we don't really investigate during the winter,
- 28:00especially here in Michigan. Even though there's
- 28:03still snow on the ground, there would be some
- 28:05like little warm spurts. Some. Some. Some. Not
- 28:08very far. Not a lot. Not enough. But when we're
- 28:11antsy to investigate, every little warm spurt
- 28:14is a... And then I refuse to give in to this,
- 28:18guys. Guys, if you're listening to this episode,
- 28:21this might be the one you want to watch on YouTube.
- 28:25This is a good one. These two co -hosts are wild.
- 28:30Anyways, but then if you want to think about
- 28:32the pressure to release something in October.
- 28:36You can't film it in October to release a film
- 28:39in October. Plus a lot of these film festivals,
- 28:42because everything we make. We don't just post
- 28:44on YouTube. We're, like, legit filmmakers that,
- 28:47like, do the film festivals. We actually try
- 28:50to make good actual film. Not, like, typical
- 28:53YouTube ghost investigation things. Like, we
- 28:58try to make an actual good story and information
- 29:00involved with our films. Yeah, we don't put out
- 29:03anything that doesn't have a purpose. Yeah. The
- 29:05only thing, out of the four films, the only thing...
- 29:08that didn't do the film festival circuit with
- 29:11Timeless Spaces, which was just a 15 -minute
- 29:13YouTube video thing that we made in conjunction
- 29:16with the Festival of Oddities. Anyways, so we
- 29:20do the film festival circuit, and a lot of these
- 29:22film festivals, you need to submit. They have
- 29:25a May, June, July sort of deadline because they
- 29:30have to watch all the films, you know, prepare
- 29:34for the festival and all that. So working backwards...
- 29:37it would make sense to film these things around
- 29:40spring to then, you know, distribute, go the
- 29:44film festival circuit. A lot of these film festivals
- 29:46are planning ahead for October. So it does kind
- 29:50of make sense from that strategic standpoint.
- 29:52But also, I mean, do we think that could be another
- 29:57liminal time of year when all the snow is melting,
- 30:01it's starting to get warm, things are waking
- 30:03up? everything that's been hibernating. What
- 30:07are your thoughts on that? Isn't there another
- 30:10point in time in spring where they say the veil
- 30:14is the fence? Isn't that around the spring solstice?
- 30:17Yeah. I don't know when that is though. I can
- 30:21use my phone this episode because usually I am
- 30:24using my phone to record and I'm not. So now
- 30:28I can Google all the things that I'm usually
- 30:30like, I don't know. Okay. Spring solstice, she's
- 30:35looking up. What day is spring solstice? March
- 30:4320th for 2025. So that's around the same time.
- 30:49Because we were filming Dweller on your birthday,
- 30:52which is March 24th. So I think what we're getting
- 30:56at is around the solstices, you know, around
- 31:00the changes in seasons, just in general, you
- 31:03know, very liminal times, times where things
- 31:08could be more likely to happen. And we've definitely
- 31:12seen that in two of the major shifts in seasons.
- 31:16We didn't see one or experience one personally
- 31:19in our personal anecdotes, you know, and our
- 31:23experiences. contributed to this data set because
- 31:26we didn't investigate between fall and winter
- 31:30because winter break we were away from each other
- 31:33there were blizzards happening in michigan not
- 31:36a good time to go to a cemetery and then a lot
- 31:38happened between spring and summer because we
- 31:41investigated a lot during our undergrad So then
- 31:47we left and summer vacation and also mosquitoes.
- 31:53You know what I would want to do? All those places,
- 31:57Ben, that you gave as like a one, rating of one.
- 32:01Those were not during the March timeframe, right?
- 32:05I'm guessing. Right. No, there would have been.
- 32:09There would have been? Yeah, the average. for
- 32:15this would have been 2 .5 or higher and there
- 32:17were some 2 .5s yeah but what about the ones
- 32:20i mean there's one spring most most investigations
- 32:23were a one yeah i i was trying because if i was
- 32:27just wondering like if you went to those very
- 32:30non -active ones during that you didn't visit
- 32:33during the summer not summer spring solstice
- 32:35time frame and you went back and during did those
- 32:41What is it called? Non -active investigations.
- 32:44I wonder if they would have been more. More active.
- 32:48More active. That's interesting. I mean. Yeah,
- 32:53that would be a fun experiment. I don't think
- 32:55we would feasibly in our lifetime be able to
- 32:57go to like. 150 locations, because I don't think
- 33:01we have... I don't think we have 150 spring solstices
- 33:05left in us. Well, dude, ones that are closer
- 33:08to us that had a lower rating. True. We already
- 33:13have 30 years of investigating experience between
- 33:16us combined, so we're about a fifth of the way
- 33:18there. That means nothing. That literally means
- 33:21nothing. It's just a number. Ages, but a number.
- 33:25That's true. Time is just a number two. Time
- 33:29isn't real. Yeah, I don't think it is. Never
- 33:31heard of her. No. Oof. Maybe that's why, because
- 33:36Madison Seminary especially, time is really warped
- 33:39and weird. So maybe that's why we're all kind
- 33:43of... Literally, we had how many people while
- 33:46we were there were like, we've seen your guys'
- 33:49stuff here before. We were not there. We had
- 33:53Annabelle and Jacques with us, and they were
- 33:54like... Our haunted objects. And they're like,
- 33:57oh, we've definitely seen like these, like this
- 34:00combination. Four people came up to us. And we're
- 34:03like, well, have you ever been to Michigan? Because
- 34:04we go to Michigan events. And they're like, no,
- 34:07we're from Ohio. And it wasn't like a social
- 34:09media, like I've seen this on. No, it was like
- 34:11we've seen them in person. And we're like, we've
- 34:14never, like this is our first time at this event.
- 34:16Like we've never brought these objects here.
- 34:19Time at Madison is just very non -existent. And
- 34:24so the booth that. was next to us they were like
- 34:26yeah literally this is our local haunt this is
- 34:28where this is where we all here and they were
- 34:31like 10 minutes from the road they were like
- 34:32yeah i remember you guys from last year and we're
- 34:34like no but they were like but i recognize your
- 34:37cabinet and i recognize your doll you guys have
- 34:40been here before and we're like no this is our
- 34:42first time and then we had another and there's
- 34:44a man he walked up and said the same thing to
- 34:46us when they were looking at our things and then
- 34:48i was talking to another person and we're telling
- 34:50them what booth we were at and you're like oh
- 34:52yeah you guys were like talking about like annabelle
- 34:56i say like i remember annabelle from last year
- 34:59too and i'm like no we don't this is our first
- 35:02time what dimension and literally the people
- 35:05who are in the booth next to us i was like i'm
- 35:08like well you know we are at madison time here's
- 35:11wonky and they're like oh yeah we know it's super
- 35:13like the time things here are super weird so
- 35:17it's entirely possible that like we just I don't
- 35:22know. Remembering for some weird reason. That's
- 35:24what everyone says. This isn't just one person
- 35:27saying time is weird at Madison that we're just
- 35:30extrapolating. This is everyone. This is a known
- 35:33phenomenon that's gone back. I don't want to
- 35:38go into the thing I did in a certain specific
- 35:43location of the seminary that I filmed because
- 35:46spoilers for an upcoming project. Save that for
- 35:50that. I had a pretty wild experience. I mean,
- 35:54we all did. Yeah. But specifically Brianna, too,
- 35:58later in the night. But we'll get into that in
- 36:01a later pod for this project. You know, it's
- 36:03spoilers. But I had a very impactful experience
- 36:07that I was talking with somebody about. And she
- 36:13said, yeah, that might have been my ghost from
- 36:15last year. Which is just weird for anyone to
- 36:20say. But it made sense. But it's like some people
- 36:26people who aren't into this as much as we are
- 36:30that would be really hard to wrap your mind around
- 36:32because when people say ghost they mean like,
- 36:34oh, past the dead. People who died. Time isn't
- 36:39a thing there, really. But there's a living person
- 36:43in front of us who has a ghost there. It's a
- 36:48hard thing to wrap your mind over, but that's
- 36:53a common thing there. If you think about residual
- 36:57energy, why do you have to be dead to contribute?
- 37:03If you have such an impact in life on a location,
- 37:06when does the energy stick, so to speak? She
- 37:13has a big... She has a big impact. Yeah, there's
- 37:18this prominent person. It was that location in
- 37:20that specific spot Ben was doing his thing at.
- 37:24So it would make sense. So that means you need
- 37:29to stick around because we will eventually be
- 37:32releasing what happened. So no spoilers. If you're
- 37:39a real fan, you probably already know what happened,
- 37:41though. Maybe. You're with us, even in spirit.
- 37:51I love this new bit. But do you love this new
- 38:00bit? Let us know in that email. That we don't
- 38:04know. That we don't know. Listen, at least I
- 38:11didn't say Accolade for All Productions at gmail
- 38:13.com. I was this close. I was this close. I was
- 38:16this close. Who are we? What are we doing? What's
- 38:21the topic again? What are we talking about? On
- 38:23this episode of Streams of Consciousness. Please
- 38:26stand by. Stop kicking the microphone. I'm sorry.
- 38:33I got nothing in my hand. I got nothing in front
- 38:36of me. I want to do something. She doesn't know
- 38:42how to function. This girl has never left Zoom.
- 38:47This is her first time in the real world. And
- 38:51she doesn't know what she's beating me up. She's
- 38:54kicking the microphone. Hi. Nice to meet you,
- 38:57Angela. We've never met before. Hello. Hello.
- 39:04Glad to see you outside of Zoom. Hi. Hi. Anyways,
- 39:09there's a whole world out there, Angela. Expand
- 39:12your horizons a little bit. You can leave Zoom.
- 39:15You're stuck in Zoom. I know you had to go on
- 39:17Zoom in March of 2020, but you can come out now.
- 39:21Come out. I feel like I'm doing an exorcism.
- 39:26The demon of Zoom, come out. Release Jesus in
- 39:30the name of Jesus Christ. Get out of your Zoom.
- 39:35Wait, so in this circumstance, is Zoom the demon
- 39:38or is Angela the demon in Zoom? Can we tie this
- 39:44to Egregores somehow? I feel like that's where
- 39:48we always land. Anywho, let's get to the fun
- 39:50stuff before we wrap this. What's your go -to
- 39:53Halloween movie? The Conjuring Universe. That's
- 39:58not one movie. Yeah, but be any of them. Look,
- 40:01I'm a fan. I'd say... I do like the Conjuring
- 40:06movies, but those are any time of the year. They're
- 40:10spooky movies. Specifically, maybe a Halloween
- 40:14movie, I would say classic Hocus Pocus. Or Practical
- 40:21Magic. I don't know that movie. You don't know
- 40:24Practical Magic? You're missing out. We need
- 40:27to watch it. Also not a fan of Hocus Pocus. Each
- 40:32to their own. I haven't watched the new one.
- 40:36So the Hocus Pocus scale would be Brianna 3,
- 40:38me 2, Angela 1. Yeah. 1 .5. I can watch it, I
- 40:46just don't love it. I don't even know if I would
- 40:49be willing to watch it, I'm going to be honest.
- 40:51So it would be a 1 for me still. I'm indifferent.
- 40:56What's your favorite Halloween movie? Well, I
- 40:59don't have a favorite, but... I was thinking
- 41:02about this earlier, and if you told me Halloween,
- 41:05what movie right now reminds you of Halloween?
- 41:09Like, what's the first movie you think of when
- 41:10you think of Halloween time? I'm going to throw
- 41:13a curveball, and I couldn't. I tried asking myself
- 41:17this multiple times, and I came to the same answer.
- 41:22It's no one else's Halloween movie. What is it?
- 41:25Just say it. Ice cream man. No, that's my Christmas
- 41:30movie. That's your Christmas. Ice Cream Man.
- 41:37Showing my sign, Clint Howard, Ice Cream Man
- 41:39sign. Sign. My favorite movie is Ice Cream Man.
- 41:44Yeah, my Letterboxd bio says, the only person
- 41:48on Letterboxd to have the Ice Cream Man ring
- 41:50higher than Shawshank Redemption. And I haven't
- 41:54found anyone else that fits in with that. Anyways,
- 41:59my Halloween movie is The Exorcist 3. There's
- 42:05a third one? We watched it together! Okay. 55
- 42:13minutes? We need Zoom! 55 minutes talking about
- 42:21pumpkin spice? Are you kidding me? Are you kidding
- 42:25me? 55 fucking minutes talking about pumpkin
- 42:29spice. No one's going to listen to this. Yes,
- 42:31they will. I think this is our best one yet.
- 42:36Thank God we didn't talk about cloves and nutmeg.
- 42:43Thanks for listening to this week's episode of
