- 0:46[SPEAKER_01]: We have players 58 through 54 today.
- 0:50[SPEAKER_01]: Really, really excited, man.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_01]: That, like, again,
- 0:54[SPEAKER_01]: there's some fun players that we're covering today.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_01]: We're in the 50s, it just brings me so much joy every single time, you know, like, okay, we're doing these in five clumps, which we've never done before.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_01]: We used to do one individual episode per player.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_01]: But like, it's just such a refreshing feeling going through this and just being like, man, these are some really good players starting to play some quality minutes and quality games for the 49ers.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_01]: There's no doubt in my mind.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_01]: especially whenever you look at like man 53 people make the roster.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_01]: This is the last statistically not gonna make the roster the initial 53 man roster, but do the a lot of these guys are playing for the Niners.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_01]: No doubt about it.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_01]: This is episode 1,063 of the 49ers roster count a 49ers rush podcast And have to say thank you to Josh Ben and Zach who help with this entire series
- 1:43[SPEAKER_01]: and they crush it.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_01]: They are incredible.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_01]: I've seen the messy stuff.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_01]: I want to say thank you to all the hashtag CCs.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_01]: The countdown crew.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_01]: Let's get it.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_01]: Let's get it.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_01]: And I know my schedule, my recording schedule is kind of off.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_01]: do this offseason is just killer, but good news, Mr. and Miss Chapman have found a new location to live.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_01]: We locked up our apartment earlier this morning.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_01]: So now we've got that finally figure that took a lot longer than we thought it was going to take, but that's okay.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_01]: And so that's huge.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_01]: But like with the movie details and packing and all kinds of stuff and we're moving our son to Texas next week.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_01]: like we are just like, uh, uh, legs a little crazy right now, but it's good.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_01]: All good things just stressful things.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_01]: So I do apologize if, uh, the shows take a little bit of a hiatus sometimes, but, um, I, I'll, I'll, I'll.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, we're doing our best and I hope that that comes across.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mess he's the greatest.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_01]: I had the opportunity to see him play live in the concaf finals against United States and it was just as advertised.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_01]: He's incredible.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_01]: He is just unbelievable.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_01]: I watch it all the world of cups stuff.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_01]: It's just been great.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_01]: I have loved it.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, Ben.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_01]: Happy Father's Day, John, and all.
- 2:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_01]: We did do a live show yesterday.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_01]: I wanted to just didn't come about.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_01]: And you always want to take time to thank you to all the fathers out there or father figures, you know, my dad wasn't active in my life for much of my childhood football coaches were everything to me that literally like, you know, if you look at my brothers and sisters, but there's like seven of us, not a great track record.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_01]: I'm a majority.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, in prison, overdose, uh, it's pretty much, everybody will be, um, not, not the best, but like, you know, it's funny when people get to know me and kind of my life story and kind of what I, we came from, I say this all the time, football coaches, it changed my life, literally changed my life.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not for them and probably girls, I'm pretty sure I would have went down the same road as the rest of, you know, my brothers and sisters, which just thankfully I never got mixed up into that and a lot of that was just man.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to do that stuff on play football is what I cared about.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_01]: And so a big reason why I went into coaching was to kind of return that favor.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully they had a positive impact on some players.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_01]: But you know, all that just to say, you know, Father's Day is a big deal and, you know, credit to everybody out there that plays any type of fatherly role.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_01]: You know, we said very similar things.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_01]: Mother's Day as well, but like man takes a village.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_01]: And it takes just so many positive influences.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_01]: to impact kids' lives and you never know what they're going through.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_01]: You never know how it's going to outcome and sometimes it doesn't go well and you go through that, but I just want to say thank you to anybody.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_01]: You know, whatever it is, even if you're not a father, even if you never could have kids, that does not matter in the least, in the least, you can have such a huge positive impact on so many different individuals.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, happy Father's Day, Ben, you are the best, appreciate you, man.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, we're not doing that, uh, we're not doing those things, um, oh Daniel just graduated as a detective Daniel was I love it today is a good day the faithful just got a little bit more qualified.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_01]: out there to win the good work, man.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_01]: Go get it done, man.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_01]: That is awesome.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_01]: Love all the hashtag CCs.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_01]: What's up, Shane?
- 5:09[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, we got Josh and Ben in the chat.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_01]: Love this.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_01]: Shout out to the single dads.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_01]: That's got to be hard as hell.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_01]: You guys are freaking legends of legends of legends.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_01]: And I love it, man.
- 5:21[SPEAKER_01]: All the pops out there.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_01]: I ain't talking about that other dude.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_01]: I have your followers, David, the best.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, Shane.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_01]: You are the best.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_01]: You are the best.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_01]: Now.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_01]: couple things we got some new information for the 49er season training can't dates are now set for the entire NFL.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_01]: The rookies are going to report July 18.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_01]: The Vets report July 25th and again, those dates are huge and it's really cool to get excited.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_01]: The first practice shout out to Matt Peros.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_01]: He illuminated this.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_01]: I was going to do the same thing you need to do.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_01]: The first practice is July 26.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_01]: Usually the day after
- 5:59[SPEAKER_01]: because those first couple days are check in, you do your conditioning tests, you have meetings, you just go through how things are gonna go.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_01]: First practice usually takes place a day after the vet report so that July 26 date, that's usually when training camp officially quote unquote.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_01]: Let's start again, practice reports and who's in, who's out, published, and andify all that kind of fun stuff.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_01]: I'm excited about that.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_01]: And we have dates set for the joint practices as well.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_01]: The Titans will have a joint practice with the 49ers in Santa Clara on the 11th of August, probably one of the most important dates of the entire training camp, whatever, and then they're going to practice the chargers down in El Segundo on the 18th.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_01]: That's probably the second most important.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_01]: date of the off season.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_01]: And here we are, we'll reset today.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_01]: You know, this is the 20 second, 80 days to kick off.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_01]: It is booming, ladies and gentlemen, and I have more and more stressed as these dates, just keep going down, shout out to Eric Meister, a social media manager.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_01]: He's put out all those fun Jerry Rice days until training camp on all of our socials.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_01]: And if you don't follow us on social media, man, strongly recommend giving us a shot.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_01]: We try to put a positive spin on almost everything.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe my Twitter's probably most negative, but a 49er source podcast, wherever you are on social median, if you're on Twitter at JL Under Score Chapman, give us a follow, but yeah, it's it's a really cool way on Instagram, Facebook, yeah, you know, TikTok,
- 7:33[SPEAKER_01]: 49ers rush podcast just start your day with the positive Niners.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_01]: Easy way Eric crushes it.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_01]: He's the best human being I've ever met my life He's incredible again somebody Fatherly role where it works with kids with special needs him and his wife and they are just Freaking saints if they're ever wear saints so shout out to Eric you're the best Thanks for all the look at all this father's day love.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_01]: I love it
- 7:57[SPEAKER_01]: I love it, love it, love it, um, yeah, right there.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_01]: One, best thing you do for kiddos, make sure they start life correctly by being 49ers fan.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_01]: It's simple.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_01]: It's simple.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_01]: It is simple, Maria.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_01]: Happy father and today to the great dads out there.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_01]: My dad has Alzheimer's.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm starting to lose some brings perspective of how much impact he's been in my life.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_01]: Um, one, I'm so sorry.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, that is heartbreaking.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_01]: I know that's got to be hard.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, my dad died long time ago, unexpected.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_01]: And like it is interesting, the course, I'm 43 years old, you know, I'm, I'm, I'm old, sorry for the lyrics, but like learning the impact my dad had after he passed, and after he wasn't in my life was huge, a very positive impact, even though he went around most of my life, they had be honest.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't matter, the negatives, the negatives do matter.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_01]: Focus on the positives, it's just being there.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_01]: You don't have to be the greatest dad in the world.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_01]: It's just got to be there.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_01]: And if you haven't been there, go be there from here on forward.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_01]: It's so simple.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_01]: Just be there.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_01]: That's where it starts.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_01]: That's where it is.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, I appreciate everybody sharing all the positives and negatives.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_01]: The things that we go through,
- 9:14[SPEAKER_01]: that people don't know, you know, even me on social media, you'll see my rosy cheeks all the time, and I try to share a little bit because I feel like in my sharing, it helps others.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_01]: You never know what people are going through.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_01]: And going through these countdown series, like it's so cool diving into these players.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_01]: And so let's get started and just have to do, I don't know if it's a disclaimer.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_01]: Number 58 is Jack Jones.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_01]: Unlike anybody else.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_01]: This 49ers roster.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe unlike any other player that's ever been on the 49ers roster count down since we've been doing it for all these years, this dude's got off the field issues out the Wazoo.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_01]: That has his entire life to rob to Pandex.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_01]: Press.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_01]: Like, like, and I'm not making light of that.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_01]: But usually when we do this roster count down series, it's man, look how cool of a kid this is in the story of overcoming all this adversity and man, powerful and powering like John Lynch and Kyle Shanand typically go after these players.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_01]: that have such a positive outlook on life and just like overcome a drink, green loss, my favorite player, ever why like, dude was a foster kid and it's turned his life around and huge positive, breaking the cycle like, oh, that is, I can't more but in life about that.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_01]: That's why I was a became a foster parent, right?
- 10:34[SPEAKER_01]: I love that stuff.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_01]: Well, check Jones, a little bit different.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_01]: Now, we're going to attack this,
- 10:40[SPEAKER_01]: two different ways.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_01]: One is damn good football player, boss skills are elite turnovers, experience, check, check, check, check, check, check.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_01]: Off the field, yikes.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_01]: But he is on a little bit of an up swing.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_01]: He has had no issues for two seasons.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_01]: Hasn't missed the game in two seasons, started every single game.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_01]: So you're talking about, as we go through this, it's rough.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_01]: He's 28 years old.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_01]: Jack Jones corner.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_01]: He's five eleven one seventy five his his comparables are Devin with her spoon will red men.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_01]: They will red men, you know, Niners.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_01]: They they targeted him and didn't work out.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_01]: But like he's that undersized hyper twitchy.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_01]: pass breakups, interceptions.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_01]: So when he gets interceptions, man, he'll take it to the house, force fumbles, fumble recoveries, always around the high energy jack rabbit corner.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_01]: That is what Jack Jones brings.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_01]: Now, uh, uh, went to USC, disqualified, goes to more park, gets arrested, goes to Arizona State after re-qualified,
- 11:44[SPEAKER_01]: crazy journey arrested in the NFL multiple times, born and long beach went to Long Beach Polly, you know, that is a pipeline of athletes to the NFL, dominate on both sides of the field and high school, top prospect, five star recruit, you know, Long Beach Polly to USC, that tells you a little bit, but academic problems gets kicked out, goes to
- 12:08[SPEAKER_01]: You know, then transfers out of due code to Arizona State was a fourth round pick.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_01]: This is just always off the field stuff.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_01]: That's all it is is.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_01]: can this guy just keep his cool.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_01]: He's such a damn good athlete, elite playmaker, amazing turnover's boss skills A plus, but all right, let's do this.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_01]: This is the Jack Jones off the field rap sheet, and it is rap sheet.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_01]: Dude broken to a Panda Express and Santa Paula, California, while he was at Moore Park, attempted to break in, pled guilty to commercial burglary.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_01]: All right, Arizona State goes there, gets discipline for fight and practice, just can't keep his cool.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_01]: get strapped to the fourth round to the Patriots, place of the suspended list because he wouldn't show up to rehab sessions, got injured, that's all right, but you got it, can't brand it and I, you get, this dude was brand it and I, you can it.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_01]: So they put him on the suspended list because he doesn't show up.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_01]: Two thousand twenty three, get what the Patriots, goes to Logan Airport and gets arrested with not one, but two loaded firearms, including additional extended magazines in his,
- 13:14[SPEAKER_01]: Carry on.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_01]: Can't do that.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_01]: Carry on.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_01]: It's got his name real big on it, by the way.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_01]: Like, dude, come on.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_01]: It gets off because the Patriots, let's be honest.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_01]: That's what they do.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, like, there's just so many issues.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_01]: Then Mrs. Kurf you with the Patriots later that year and gets benched.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_01]: That was all 2023.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_01]: So,
- 13:35[SPEAKER_01]: Since 2023, the last kind of incident was missing curfew and getting bitched, no issue since then.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_01]: So 2024, 2025, no issues.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_01]: And he was with the Raiders in 2024, started every single game.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_01]: He was with the Dolphin's last year, started every single game, durability's there, decent starter, like he's not Jack Jones is no longer
- 14:03[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if you was ever seen as like a top, you know, 30 corner top 40 corner top 50 corner, but like every single team of the NFL is three starting corners, all right, three times 30.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you get, there's about 100 starting corners in the NFL on the given Sunday.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's on that list.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's a top 100 corner whenever you look at just what Jack Jones does on the field, can play outside, can play outside.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_01]: The ball skills are unique.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_01]: like 59 games play 38 starts eight interceptions for defensive touchdowns like once he gets to ball in his hand he can do some things three force fumbles one fumble return he could just 33 pass breakups like boss skills boss skills boss skills this is a
- 14:50[SPEAKER_01]: starting level corner for a bad team at worst he's a number four or five corner, which every single team keeps four or five corners, but the 49ers corner back depth chart is deep.
- 15:04[SPEAKER_01]: It is deep.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_01]: Now he's made his issues in the NFL very well known.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_01]: He was drafted in the fourth round of 2022 to the Patriots,
- 15:17[SPEAKER_01]: No major injuries.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_01]: It just has played a lot of football.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_01]: He's made $4.2 million career earnings sacrifice a lot of those earnings because of the off-the-field stuff.
- 15:28[SPEAKER_01]: Violated his contract.
- 15:30[SPEAKER_01]: He's on a one-year 1.2 million dollar deal with the 49ers.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_01]: No guarantees, Jack Jones.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_01]: Do you have to come here.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_01]: You've got to earn it.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_01]: You've got to show us.
- 15:38[SPEAKER_01]: You can behave.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_01]: You've got to show us you belong.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_01]: But what I would hang my hat on, this is not a signing that I would have went with.
- 15:47[SPEAKER_01]: However, if you're gonna have some knuckleheads, you wanna win the defense of back room.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_01]: It is just, yeah, and like yeah, Portola, like if no off the field issues in Miami and Vegas, like back to back years, Vegas and Miami, no issues, a little bit different than Santa Clara.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_01]: it's just it's different um it is different so like he's a damn good football player and if you look at highlights, Jack Jones is a freaking highlight real.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_01]: I you know
- 16:25[SPEAKER_01]: I listed to a lot of NFL podcasts, whatever else.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_01]: And I remember there was one episode where NFL network was at the Raiders training camp.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_01]: And every single player, whatever talking head that was on there, there were like three or four national reporters that were there.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_01]: And they all were like, dude, Jack Jones has been the player of this camp.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_01]: Like, he's been the best Raiders player, offense or defense for all of training camp.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_01]: Kenny just keep his head on straight.
- 16:59[SPEAKER_01]: Josh, one of the producers of this series, personally like Jack Jones for the 4-Darrisier ain't got him.
- 17:05[SPEAKER_01]: solo or just check it and broccoli a beef.
- 17:07[SPEAKER_01]: Was it worth it?
- 17:08[SPEAKER_01]: Jack Jones.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I love it dude.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_01]: I'm a hunting alt walnut shrimp in the low main.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_01]: That's me.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_01]: But you know, you do what you got to do.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_01]: Whenever they do the spicy or chicken, which I wish they'd keep that on there.
- 17:19[SPEAKER_01]: That's fire.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_01]: That is fire.
- 17:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Logan right here.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_01]: A quarterback room is going to be quite competitive.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully just all the field.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go through the depth chart, which usually keep five corners.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes six,
- 17:33[SPEAKER_01]: Diamondore, La Nore, Renardo Green, Upton, Stout, Ephesians, Prysock, is fourth round pit.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_01]: He's making this damn roster.
- 17:39[SPEAKER_01]: Nate Hobbs, way more money, versatility, Dorell Looter played pretty good last year than Jack Jones.
- 17:47[SPEAKER_01]: Behind that, you got Jacob Robertson, Eliapo, like, the 49ers corner room.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_01]: You didn't lose any corners last year.
- 17:56[SPEAKER_01]: You brought him all back and you add
- 18:03[SPEAKER_01]: the depth of the 49ers 2026 roster.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_01]: It's just, it's just, I love all these jokes.
- 18:16[SPEAKER_01]: Monkey says points through the glass with a ski mask on.
- 18:20[SPEAKER_01]: Give me three spring rolls and two servings of that orange chicken.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my gosh.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I love all these.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_01]: And that's a thing.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_01]: So
- 18:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you know, bring two loaded guns to the airport.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_01]: One and then you carry on.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_01]: You got more.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you hope you grew up and maybe I should pull back.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_01]: Making, I'm not trying to make light of these situations.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know how to address situations like this without comedy, which can get me in trouble.
- 18:57[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, because
- 19:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_01]: I'd make jokes about everything that I'm not supposed to make.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_01]: I always have been that way.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_01]: That's just how I approach certain things.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm not trying to make light of burglary and
- 19:10[SPEAKER_01]: guns and airport, but it's just kind of my default.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_01]: So I apologize for that.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_01]: I love these jokes man.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_01]: I love weekstop, but I'm not break it into wood.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_01]: Oh gosh, these are great man.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_01]: Y'all kill me.
- 19:23[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 19:23[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 19:26[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 19:26[SPEAKER_01]: It is also you guys are the best of the best.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_01]: So anyway, Jack Jones.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_01]: on the field check if Jack Jones was the fourth corner for a roster.
- 19:38[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think anybody would have an issue.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_01]: He's not the fifth or the like he's he's the sixth corner.
- 19:45[SPEAKER_01]: No guaranteed money.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_01]: You cut him who cares like not a big deal.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not put that up there shade.
- 19:53[SPEAKER_01]: I appreciate you though.
- 20:01[SPEAKER_01]: Who, man, how do you not love Garrett Wallow?
- 20:04[SPEAKER_01]: He was with the Eagles, and you know, was on their team last year on their practice squad, Niners pulled them over and December steps in, starts a playoff game, it dominates against the Eagles, helps win that game.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_01]: Just was awesome.
- 20:22[SPEAKER_01]: Six foot, two, 230 pounds, where's Jersey number 49?
- 20:26[SPEAKER_01]: The infamous 49 jersey for the 49ers.
- 20:32[SPEAKER_01]: the little two on the nose for me, do Garrett Wallow, energy, special teams and attitude, just attitude.
- 20:41[SPEAKER_01]: If the 49ers kept having all those injuries at the linebacker position where they just had to have somebody play, Garrett Wallow stepped in there and was okay.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_01]: Like Garrett Wallow is never supposed to be a linebacker rotational player.
- 20:54[SPEAKER_01]: He's a special teams guy that
- 20:57[SPEAKER_01]: break glass in case of emergency.
- 20:59[SPEAKER_01]: You need lineback or help.
- 21:00[SPEAKER_01]: Like that's cool.
- 21:01[SPEAKER_01]: This dude started in a playoff game on the road and you'd say heavy road team.
- 21:06[SPEAKER_01]: It was awesome.
- 21:07[SPEAKER_01]: Like did his job.
- 21:09[SPEAKER_01]: Can't cover, but whenever you play in jail and hurts, you can't throw.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_01]: You're going to be all right.
- 21:13[SPEAKER_01]: Like he did his job.
- 21:15[SPEAKER_01]: Um
- 21:16[SPEAKER_01]: You look at his playstyle comps like with all of his measurples, Chassarot, right, Brampoy or guy, Jeremiah Gimmel.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_01]: You remember him, the general, a team Dave is gay.
- 21:25[SPEAKER_01]: They're like, there's, there's a prototype for this.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_01]: And it's a special team's player.
- 21:29[SPEAKER_01]: That's what Garrett Wallace is 27 years old.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_01]: Came out of TCU and boarded raised in New Orleans, which, you know, you get the Garrett Wallace cool name.
- 21:40[SPEAKER_01]: Went to John Curtis Christian high school.
- 21:45[SPEAKER_01]: was on Denver's practice squad.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_01]: I said claimed from Philly.
- 21:48[SPEAKER_01]: I was misspoke and he was on Denver's practice squad when the 49ers took him.
- 21:53[SPEAKER_01]: They took him off their practice squad with our injuries at the linebacker position and he had to play.
- 21:59[SPEAKER_01]: And man, just was so awesome.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_01]: Eight tackles that gets the Eagles and that playoff game, set the defeated Super Bowl Champion's own, definitely one of the high points of the season last year with a guy named Garrett Wallow.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_01]: Like, really, this is what we're doing, but he jumped off the tape to be when they got up a December because of special teams.
- 22:17[SPEAKER_01]: You know, we break down every single playoff and Steve and special teams have for several seasons.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm going through this special team's tape, and I'm like, dude, who the hell is that?
- 22:23[SPEAKER_01]: He is angry as hell, it just, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it
- 22:31[SPEAKER_01]: Dude's like hyped up on smelling sauce.
- 22:34[SPEAKER_01]: Garrett Wallows running around trying to kill people and kick off and kick off return.
- 22:38[SPEAKER_01]: Not like out there blocking, no, no, no.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_01]: I got worried.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_01]: I remember saying this in one of my breakdowns.
- 22:43[SPEAKER_01]: As I do, I love this dude.
- 22:45[SPEAKER_01]: He is trying to rip people's face off.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_01]: I just hope he don't get penalties.
- 22:49[SPEAKER_01]: He's a little too aggressive.
- 22:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, back it down a little bit.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_01]: What you like as a coach.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_01]: you don't like the players that you have to like piss them off to play mad no you like guys like Garra Wallo like Drake Greenlove and are out there trying to yeah it's personal Garra Wallo is awesome on special teams you don't ever want to play in as a linebacker but the dude did it in the playoffs for a short stint and did what had to be done to get a playoff win
- 23:15[SPEAKER_01]: I think that is huge.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_01]: He was drafted in 2021 in the fifth round, pick 170 overall.
- 23:20[SPEAKER_01]: He went two picks before Diomedor the North and 10 picks before who funga.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so I think 10 picks after, sorry, but like anyway, it just put that out there.
- 23:32[SPEAKER_01]: That's kind of rough for Garrett Wallow, both those great players.
- 23:36[SPEAKER_01]: But he's played in 46 games, five starts, 51 tackles, three tackle for loss, one sack, one pass break up.
- 23:43[SPEAKER_01]: But again, eight tackles in that Philly playoff game, I think that that was huge.
- 23:47[SPEAKER_01]: He's a special team stud.
- 23:48[SPEAKER_01]: This is a brand-boy player.
- 23:51[SPEAKER_01]: You might be able to sneak on to the practice squad in Elevate as a special team player.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_01]: Might.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_01]: You start looking at this lineback room and you're just like, oh boy, you're in trouble.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_01]: That's a raffle, you're like, I'm in danger, Fred Warner, Drake Greenlaw, Tatum Bethany, Luke Giffford, Nick Martin, Jalen Dugger.
- 24:11[SPEAKER_01]: Garrett Wallow, Jalen Graham Larry with the third and Larry worth the third has looked awesome through the OTA process.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_01]: So like he's got a 1 year 1.2 million dollar till $330,000 guaranteed.
- 24:23[SPEAKER_01]: That is special teams, practice squad player money.
- 24:28[SPEAKER_01]: The contract tells us you make about 270 maybe he makes a little bit more because he's been in the league for six seasons,
- 24:40[SPEAKER_01]: You probably aren't going to make our 53-man roster, Garrett Wallow, but we're going to pay you upfront for the entire season of practice squat.
- 24:48[SPEAKER_01]: So we want you on our practice squat.
- 24:50[SPEAKER_01]: So if you don't make the 53, we're pre-paying you to be on our practice squat.
- 24:55[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't go to another practice squat.
- 24:57[SPEAKER_01]: And these are the conversations that happen when the contracts come out with the agent, like look, dude.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_01]: We're gonna probably be drafted somebody.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_01]: It's a deep linebacker room.
- 25:06[SPEAKER_01]: Not sure you're gonna make the 53 man, but we're gonna pay you to be a practice squad guy that we can elevate for special teams.
- 25:13[SPEAKER_01]: And we're gonna prepay you for the entire season because we love the way you practice, we love the way you play, we love the experience, we love what you did for us at the playoffs.
- 25:22[SPEAKER_01]: But we're paying you for special teams, practice squad.
- 25:26[SPEAKER_01]: That's what it's gonna be.
- 25:26[SPEAKER_01]: If somebody puts you on their 53, we ain't got nothing to say about it, but if you're picked in practice squad, we're gonna pre-pay you this $330,000 skint.
- 25:33[SPEAKER_01]: That's a lot of money.
- 25:33[SPEAKER_01]: He's made $3.7 million in his career.
- 25:34[SPEAKER_01]: Go Garrett Wallow, freakin' stud, freakin' stud.
- 25:35[SPEAKER_01]: Um... Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
- 25:46[SPEAKER_01]: You guys still make a Jack Jones.
- 25:50[SPEAKER_01]: Jack Jones travel a restaurant guide zero stars would not recommend thank you for escape.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_01]: Josh Wallow is a pinch player good for 40 snaps when needed.
- 26:01[SPEAKER_01]: Just can't cover lost a lot.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_01]: see ball get ball type of guy he could tackle very very well great on special teams great on special teams Logan while it was definitely one of the reasons we limited the Eagles that game yeah good against the run uh you you play a one-dimensional team that yeah jaylin hurts play that terrible game and that offense they had a fire they're offensive coordinated and change everything and
- 26:27[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, Jaylin heard Super Bowl when in quarterback, let's be very real, but to say that he is limited is an understatement.
- 26:35[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, Tommy with the headline Eagles, Wallo in self-pity.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I like that.
- 26:40[SPEAKER_01]: I do like that.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_01]: So that's number 57.
- 26:43[SPEAKER_01]: Garrett, Wallo.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_01]: Now, our number 56 player, I don't think it's enough love throughout the entirety of, you know, kind of
- 26:53[SPEAKER_01]: the 49ers respected roster decisions in this offseason.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_01]: So I would say probably 56, the most unheralded deserves way more respect and will probably get a lot of playing times for the 49ers this year.
- 27:09[SPEAKER_01]: right after this.
- 27:10[SPEAKER_01]: 49ers rush road trip is going into its sixth year with over 40 events at road games if you are traveling to see the 49ers play this year, you gotta come party with us.
- 27:21[SPEAKER_01]: And on top of that, we give games, trivia, giveaways, we've partnered with tick pick this year.
- 27:27[SPEAKER_01]: All you have to do is search 49ers rush on any of the tick pick sites, apps, you name it, and on top of all of that.
- 27:35[SPEAKER_01]: best dressed, giveaways, autographed jerseys, kids are always included and get in for free with a ticketed adult.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_01]: And a lot of times for select cities, we will have 49ers legends come out and you get to meet and greet them and get autographed.
- 27:49[SPEAKER_01]: Vorrow Bowman, Frank Gore, Patrick Willis, Fred Warner, are all players that we have worked with in the past and trust me.
- 27:55[SPEAKER_01]: If you want to build the 49ers community, you're traveling by yourself, we got you covered 49ers
- 28:08[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, look at this, Shane giving me props, said, nice cliffhanger.
- 28:11[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I'm getting better at this.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_01]: Just a couple hundred episodes, thousand episodes.
- 28:16[SPEAKER_01]: And I think a teaser is art by thing.
- 28:19[SPEAKER_01]: But number 56, defensive and cam sample.
- 28:23[SPEAKER_01]: I think that he kind of got lost in the sauce of all the free agency moves with Drake Greenlaw.
- 28:29[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, so Dick Zua, Mike Evans, like,
- 28:32[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think cam sample.
- 28:34[SPEAKER_01]: I had them ranked a lot higher than 56.
- 28:36[SPEAKER_01]: So what we did all four of us, you know, Ben Josh, Zach, myself.
- 28:41[SPEAKER_01]: We ranked one through 91, impact on this season alone.
- 28:46[SPEAKER_01]: I think cam sample is going to be playing a lot because Nick boasts us coming off in injury.
- 28:51[SPEAKER_01]: Well, he'd be ready.
- 28:52[SPEAKER_01]: We want to fly to Australia, maybe.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_01]: and then you got me kill Williams come off in injury in November.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think there's really any chance he's going to be ready week one but that flight.
- 29:01[SPEAKER_01]: I just don't see it.
- 29:03[SPEAKER_01]: You need defensive ends and then you throw on rookie Ramello.
- 29:06[SPEAKER_01]: Hi.
- 29:06[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 29:06[SPEAKER_01]: Cool.
- 29:07[SPEAKER_01]: He can rush the pass or only.
- 29:09[SPEAKER_01]: But now you're down to Samo and then key on white.
- 29:12[SPEAKER_01]: He's overcoming getting shot in the foot.
- 29:14[SPEAKER_01]: Like good lord.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_01]: The hits just keep on coming, man.
- 29:17[SPEAKER_01]: So I really do believe that defensive end can't sample
- 29:26[SPEAKER_01]: He could be a legit rotational piece early in the season.
- 29:30[SPEAKER_01]: I do think he's 56 on this, you know, Ross would think, but a little finagling, I think there's a strong chance that Cam sample makes the 53.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_01]: Where's Jersey number 96, 63, 272, 26 years old?
- 29:44[SPEAKER_01]: Like, come on, man, it played at two lane.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_01]: And he's from snailville, Georgia, which I spent a couple summers, two summers in snailville, Georgia, with the pops, look at all that dad references today, I love it went to Shiloh high school, when a highly recruited player coming out, two star ranking, but then he goes to two lane, very productive career was a fourth round pick with the bangles.
- 30:08[SPEAKER_01]: But struggle to kind of find his way as a starter, uh, he's a rotational defensive end.
- 30:14[SPEAKER_01]: That is what he is.
- 30:15[SPEAKER_01]: Like he is your ideal number four, number five defensive end.
- 30:18[SPEAKER_01]: You can make a career out of that.
- 30:19[SPEAKER_01]: This gets 26 we have, we have draft picks.
- 30:23[SPEAKER_01]: That are the same age as as Cam sample, but he's entering into his six season, right?
- 30:29[SPEAKER_01]: He's part of the old regime where you would come out at 20 sometimes.
- 30:31[SPEAKER_01]: So he came out early.
- 30:34[SPEAKER_01]: But literally, him and K-Long black, you're running back or about six months difference.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_01]: But he's been in the NFL for six seasons.
- 30:41[SPEAKER_01]: Could he find a home in Santa Clara as he's just gonna be a rotational depth piece at the defensive end spot till everybody gets healthy?
- 30:48[SPEAKER_01]: Good style, run defender, high energy guy.
- 30:51[SPEAKER_01]: You go back through his tape, Cam Sample, and a lot of his tackle for losses, and a lot of his sacks are just extra effort, energy guy, Chris Cousaric, this is a carry-hider special.
- 31:02[SPEAKER_01]: That's just what it is.
- 31:02[SPEAKER_01]: It's a Samo type guy.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_01]: Is he dynamic?
- 31:07[SPEAKER_01]: No, do you want him starting?
- 31:08[SPEAKER_01]: Never.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_01]: Teams need four to five defensive ends to rotate.
- 31:13[SPEAKER_01]: Cam Sample can play that and has played that role.
- 31:19[SPEAKER_01]: The Bengals don't know what the hell they're doing on defense and never really have.
- 31:22[SPEAKER_01]: They've struggled with the defensive in position and you're hoping, well, all right.
- 31:26[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe they just screwed up.
- 31:28[SPEAKER_01]: Now, the biggest negative at Camp Sample was he tore his Achilles in 2024.
- 31:32[SPEAKER_01]: Took him a long time to kind of recover, missed the majority of kind of last season.
- 31:40[SPEAKER_01]: I shouldn't say that.
- 31:40[SPEAKER_01]: He played in 14 games last year, but he wasn't himself.
- 31:44[SPEAKER_01]: And again, it just put that in perspective.
- 31:46[SPEAKER_01]: He was 24 whenever he tore his Achilles.
- 31:48[SPEAKER_01]: George Kittle tore his Achilles in freaking January of 30 plus years old.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_01]: Just trying to provide context to understand calm down and certain things.
- 32:01[SPEAKER_01]: But great at stunts, cam sample, that's huge.
- 32:05[SPEAKER_01]: Like this is a coosaric type guy, three down versatility is an ideal number four number five defensive end.
- 32:11[SPEAKER_01]: He was drafted by the Bengals in the fourth round, picked one 11 overall and kind of not his fault.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_01]: The very next pick, one 12, was a modern raw Saint Brown, who was just a freaking stud, went right after him.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_01]: That hurts.
- 32:22[SPEAKER_01]: Um, Amber Thomas went eight picks.
- 32:25[SPEAKER_01]: before, you know, Cam sample just to put that into perspective.
- 32:29[SPEAKER_01]: But Cam samples play 61 games, five starts, 85 tackles, eight tackles for losses, 26 quarterback hits, which is good.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_01]: Seven sacks, one force fumble, one pass break up, still young, 26 years old, three down versatility.
- 32:45[SPEAKER_01]: He can help you in the rut.
- 32:46[SPEAKER_01]: You got to put them in there to rush the passory.
- 32:48[SPEAKER_01]: You can do it.
- 32:48[SPEAKER_01]: You're going to have to stun a little bit like he's not a bender.
- 32:52[SPEAKER_01]: by any stretch, but you're betting the Bengals are the Bengals and you're saying this is two years removed from my killies.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe it's an uptick.
- 33:00[SPEAKER_01]: He's 26 in his prime.
- 33:02[SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of where he is.
- 33:03[SPEAKER_01]: He's on a one year 1.3 million dollar deal, not a lot.
- 33:08[SPEAKER_01]: $225,000 guaranteed.
- 33:11[SPEAKER_01]: Got some money there.
- 33:13[SPEAKER_01]: $5.4 million he's made in his career and you start looking at the
- 33:18[SPEAKER_01]: at the defense of in spot, Nick Bosa got to put a asterisk on there coming off of an ACL, we kill Williams, asterisk, ACL, kill white asterisk, gunshot.
- 33:27[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 33:28[SPEAKER_01]: Now you're talking Samo, Ramello high, Michele Camara, then Cam sample.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_01]: He's ahead of guys like William Bradley, King and Andrew Farmer, but one of the best roster battles is, look at the lead in.
- 33:46[SPEAKER_01]: Cam sample versus Michaela Kamara, who comes in, you guessed it.
- 33:50[SPEAKER_01]: Number 55, I got it back to back.
- 33:53[SPEAKER_01]: The high ups, I don't want to say high upside with Michaela Kamara, I don't think he's a huge high upside player, but he's 24 undrafted free agent.
- 34:01[SPEAKER_01]: It gets a six year pro that is 26, and they are similar.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_01]: Now, the problem with Michaela Kamara, who is number 55, he just has such a limited athletic profile.
- 34:17[SPEAKER_01]: You don't have the arms, you don't have the speed, you don't have like, he's built well, but you don't have the frame.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_01]: And so he doesn't have the length.
- 34:25[SPEAKER_01]: That's why Mikhail Kamara was undrafted versus Kim Sample who goes in the fourth round.
- 34:31[SPEAKER_01]: I think Mikhail Kamara is a better football player.
- 34:36[SPEAKER_01]: But he's got to show it.
- 34:37[SPEAKER_01]: He's a priority free agent.
- 34:39[SPEAKER_01]: And I think he's the highest priority free agent on our list.
- 34:42[SPEAKER_01]: My favorite is Khalil Dinkin's a tight-end, but the highest ranking one is Mikhail Kumar.
- 34:47[SPEAKER_01]: Well, for reasons defensive end rooms got some issues.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_01]: as we just alluded to there's there's a mess there so we kill tomorrow number 55 where's Jersey 59 612 50 24 years old this is another Kurt Signetti special he was at James Madison for multiple seasons then transferred to Indiana when Kurt Signetti took that change just like
- 35:13[SPEAKER_01]: Curtis work was teammates with the other defensive tackle.
- 35:17[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my gosh, Adam on the show.
- 35:19[SPEAKER_01]: What is wrong with me?
- 35:20[SPEAKER_01]: What's wrong with me CJ West.
- 35:22[SPEAKER_01]: Gosh, I'm a goofball.
- 35:23[SPEAKER_01]: Like, there's a lot in house that knows what Mikhail Kamara can do.
- 35:29[SPEAKER_01]: His born and raised in stone bridge Virginia.
- 35:32[SPEAKER_01]: And again, listen to this lineage.
- 35:33[SPEAKER_01]: His dad's from Sierra Leone.
- 35:35[SPEAKER_01]: His mother is Jamaican.
- 35:39[SPEAKER_01]: How cool is that?
- 35:39[SPEAKER_01]: Talk about a unique outlook on the human perspective.
- 35:43[SPEAKER_01]: That's beautiful.
- 35:44[SPEAKER_01]: Now, I want to know more about this too.
- 35:47[SPEAKER_01]: Amazing high school career, 31 Sacks is a junior and senior.
- 35:50[SPEAKER_01]: It was a defensive player, the year, three star recruit, Ghost of James Madison, followed Kurt Signetti to Indiana, and had an incredible 2024.
- 36:05[SPEAKER_01]: If you go back to his 20, 24 season, let me see here.
- 36:09[SPEAKER_01]: I want to make sure I detail this grid.
- 36:11[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I outlined this somewhere.
- 36:13[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, a 2024, a 15 tackle for losses, 10 sacks.
- 36:18[SPEAKER_01]: Didn't follow it up with a good year.
- 36:20[SPEAKER_01]: Had it down here, two sacks, but this was one of the players that we wrote for our 49ers draft rush.
- 36:29[SPEAKER_01]: Guy, I had a late fourth round, great on them.
- 36:33[SPEAKER_01]: And I had a fifth round I bumped him up to fourth round just because there was so much that I liked about his take listen to the traits
- 36:40[SPEAKER_01]: that we rated experienced nine like was almost a 10 out 10 almost the most starts he's got 51 career starts of anybody in the defensive end draft class versatility for he's a buck style end only speed to acceleration three injury nine he's played beyond durable past rush five run game seven like I was like dude this is a nine or guy and sure enough he laid it with the minors
- 37:06[SPEAKER_01]: And this was our 49ers rush draft film breakdown.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, of Mikhail Komara before he was strapped in this before the piece came out of these are our words.
- 37:16[SPEAKER_01]: Highly productive relentless motor and it shows on tape has advanced past rush moves, not a one-trick pony.
- 37:22[SPEAKER_01]: Swipe packages probably is best past rush move.
- 37:25[SPEAKER_01]: Participates in the run game with good technique,
- 37:31[SPEAKER_01]: When he gets engaged, he doesn't get disengaged, and so that that was my biggest issue when you watch Mikhail Kamara.
- 37:38[SPEAKER_01]: Whenever he gets got, he gets got shot off the wire like it's over.
- 37:43[SPEAKER_01]: He's got to stay ahead.
- 37:45[SPEAKER_01]: He gets tied up.
- 37:47[SPEAKER_01]: It plays over.
- 37:48[SPEAKER_01]: He just disappears and I don't like that.
- 37:52[SPEAKER_01]: A little slow at diagnosing run place, compact power rusher, decent kid offsets the edge well below average NFL athlete, but plays consistently well.
- 38:01[SPEAKER_01]: The consistency tape is good, a lot of experience.
- 38:05[SPEAKER_01]: His havoc rate was 27 out of 49 defensive ends in this draft class.
- 38:10[SPEAKER_01]: That's average.
- 38:11[SPEAKER_01]: Why do you go adrafted?
- 38:13[SPEAKER_01]: He's small and stature and slow.
- 38:16[SPEAKER_01]: small and stature and so the threshold teams wanted nothing to do with them didn't test well he's short some teams don't want six one guys PFS scores yeah 74.1 overall 79.7 run 76.2 pass rush consistent three down player can he be that in the NFL probably not probably going to be a run game guy only early on but man he can he make a splash
- 38:44[SPEAKER_01]: Get one of these spots early with Keon White, the Kell Williams Nick Bosa having those injury issues.
- 38:54[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see, but yeah, man, I freaking, I like a lot of these guys.
- 39:00[SPEAKER_01]: I really, really do, behind on the chat now because we had to camp sample in the Kell of Kamara conversation.
- 39:05[SPEAKER_01]: So let's catch up on the chat, Logan.
- 39:08[SPEAKER_01]: Not gonna lie, Chapman.
- 39:09[SPEAKER_01]: If we get another password, sure I think sample will be even more for God.
- 39:13[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, rightfully so.
- 39:16[SPEAKER_01]: If everybody's healthy, I have Michaela Kamara 6th, Cam Sample 7th.
- 39:21[SPEAKER_01]: But with three asterists, yeah, you're bumping them up to third and fourth.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_01]: Well, maybe only one or two of those guys.
- 39:29[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, fourth and fifth, you're keeping five defensive ends.
- 39:33[SPEAKER_01]: one of these guys is going to make the roster.
- 39:36[SPEAKER_01]: I think there's a chance both of them make the initial 53.
- 39:39[SPEAKER_01]: You could do the handshake agreement.
- 39:41[SPEAKER_01]: We can't sample can't do that with tomorrow.
- 39:42[SPEAKER_01]: You'd lose him.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_01]: It's a pin on how they play.
- 39:47[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, look at that.
- 39:47[SPEAKER_01]: We're getting a divester to the lone cliff angle.
- 39:49[SPEAKER_01]: I love that movie.
- 39:52[SPEAKER_01]: It was great.
- 39:54[SPEAKER_01]: I'm scared of heights.
- 39:55[SPEAKER_01]: Probably because of that movie.
- 39:56[SPEAKER_01]: I did not.
- 39:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, there was some scenes that still burned into my brain.
- 40:01[SPEAKER_01]: Logan, I can't wait to see a fully healthy McKell Williams on this upgraded D line.
- 40:06[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's huge.
- 40:07[SPEAKER_01]: I really, really do, and yeah, Ben, Samples very similar to Samo.
- 40:13[SPEAKER_01]: I would put your kind of stout book ends, key on white McKell Williams, Samo, McKelcomara, Kim sample, right?
- 40:26[SPEAKER_01]: Your past rush specialist, that's for mellow height and Nick boasts is just, he could do it all, right?
- 40:32[SPEAKER_01]: Like you could do whatever.
- 40:33[SPEAKER_01]: Like Nick boasts is that guy.
- 40:36[SPEAKER_01]: But the Niners love that stout run defense because we do so many light boxes.
- 40:41[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, what's up?
- 40:42[SPEAKER_01]: The strike go podcast.
- 40:43[SPEAKER_01]: Little late with the hat tip.
- 40:44[SPEAKER_01]: What's up, brother?
- 40:45[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate you Rob Laude.
- 40:45[SPEAKER_01]: Are you stud?
- 40:47[SPEAKER_01]: Calcumara is making this roster book it.
- 40:49[SPEAKER_01]: I really hope he does.
- 40:51[SPEAKER_01]: The ceiling,
- 40:55[SPEAKER_01]: because whenever you're talking about young priority free agents, the ceiling and floor is usually higher, but he's six one.
- 41:03[SPEAKER_01]: He's small.
- 41:05[SPEAKER_01]: doesn't mean you can't play.
- 41:06[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, Elvis, doomer field.
- 41:08[SPEAKER_01]: And now, nobody's going to confuse Mikhail Kumar with Elvis, doomer veer on how they play.
- 41:13[SPEAKER_01]: They went into completely different ways.
- 41:15[SPEAKER_01]: But Mikhail Kumar definitely.
- 41:17[SPEAKER_01]: I really, really liked that.
- 41:18[SPEAKER_01]: And Logan Yays, the technician.
- 41:20[SPEAKER_01]: I saw that as well as hands are good.
- 41:22[SPEAKER_01]: But it was weird that whenever he got locked up, it was just over.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm excited.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_01]: He looks the part, even though he's small.
- 41:31[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, that's awesome, uh, fun players, man.
- 41:34[SPEAKER_01]: Very, very fun players.
- 41:35[SPEAKER_01]: All right, our last player on today's roster count.
- 41:38[SPEAKER_01]: Probably one of my favorites.
- 41:42[SPEAKER_01]: And I think people are going to be upset by this one, but like, some guys I just love watching play.
- 41:50[SPEAKER_01]: I just love watching them play and this was a player that I kept saying should be way higher on the depth chart for I think three years now, 2024, 2025, and then this year as well, Patrick Taylor Jr. the running back.
- 42:03[SPEAKER_01]: He just runs pissed off.
- 42:05[SPEAKER_01]: Kyle Shetty hand trust him.
- 42:06[SPEAKER_01]: He plays so damn hard.
- 42:09[SPEAKER_01]: And he's shot whenever he'd given a chance.
- 42:10[SPEAKER_01]: You go watch, which a lot of people didn't, I was at this game in person.
- 42:14[SPEAKER_01]: It was one of the worst games I've ever been to.
- 42:16[SPEAKER_01]: It was the last game week, the 17th game of the season in the 2024 and the Niners did make the playoffs.
- 42:21[SPEAKER_01]: It didn't matter for the Cardinals, didn't matter for the 49ers.
- 42:24[SPEAKER_01]: Patrick Taylor gets to the start, 17 rush attempts over 100 yards.
- 42:28[SPEAKER_01]: Dude was running through people's face mask.
- 42:31[SPEAKER_01]: And like he was out to prove to the world, I belong.
- 42:34[SPEAKER_01]: I finally get my chance.
- 42:35[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to punch somebody in the face.
- 42:37[SPEAKER_01]: just runs angry.
- 42:39[SPEAKER_01]: Now 40 hours got blown out.
- 42:41[SPEAKER_01]: I remember, I'll never, I'd never like this player since they're Jordan Elliott quit several times in the middle of the game.
- 42:48[SPEAKER_01]: And the nighters just kept them out there for some strange reason.
- 42:50[SPEAKER_01]: I brought them back for another year.
- 42:52[SPEAKER_01]: I have a so glad for him to be gone.
- 42:55[SPEAKER_01]: I don't like players that quit.
- 42:56[SPEAKER_01]: You have to have pride.
- 42:57[SPEAKER_01]: Patrick Taylor Jr. had pride, man.
- 43:00[SPEAKER_01]: Way better than Isaac Garando, not near his fast.
- 43:02[SPEAKER_01]: He runs a four, five, seven.
- 43:04[SPEAKER_01]: Where's Jersey number 32?
- 43:05[SPEAKER_01]: And this is his third season.
- 43:07[SPEAKER_01]: We had him 87 on the roster count down 2024.
- 43:11[SPEAKER_01]: Last year, 65 this year, 54.
- 43:13[SPEAKER_01]: Three consecutive years.
- 43:16[SPEAKER_01]: Climbing, just climbing.
- 43:18[SPEAKER_01]: And I think a big reason,
- 43:24[SPEAKER_01]: How do I say this?
- 43:27[SPEAKER_01]: Isaac Garendo has been a disaster.
- 43:29[SPEAKER_01]: And then his peck tear, like Patrick Taylor Jr. is very close to making this roster.
- 43:36[SPEAKER_01]: Six, two, two, 15, 28 years old.
- 43:39[SPEAKER_01]: Played at Memphis.
- 43:41[SPEAKER_01]: He went to, I'm gonna mess this up, a toss to see to high school, which I shouldn't know that high school, it's in humble Texas.
- 43:49[SPEAKER_01]: has two sisters is dad Patrick played at nickel state his cousin played wide receiver at Memphis Memphis let us high school to the fourth round of state Texas playoffs yeah humble always puts up some good programs.
- 44:03[SPEAKER_01]: But he was a two star recruit went to Memphis and they're running back situation it's just been awesome they've had so many studs come through that program.
- 44:11[SPEAKER_01]: he's been a debt practice squad player for the majority of his career and kind of has been a break glass in case of emergency if CMC goes down because Kyle trusts him and he can return kicks and not great at it but in the new kickoff format you can have this bigger slower running back it was good it only had four returns but they were all way better than grando stuff and he didn't fumble
- 44:36[SPEAKER_01]: It's played for three teams in this career.
- 44:37[SPEAKER_01]: It was an un-trapped and free-age of back in 2020, but it's played 47 games only one start, but that one started arrest for 100 yards with the 49ers.
- 44:46[SPEAKER_01]: He's average 4.3 yards per attempt.
- 44:49[SPEAKER_01]: Throughout his entire career, two touchdowns, 17 receptions, 94 receiving yards, receiving an issue, that is an issue.
- 44:56[SPEAKER_01]: It's been on the 49ers practice squad for multiple years in a row.
- 45:00[SPEAKER_01]: And like he's just trusted.
- 45:03[SPEAKER_01]: And with Christian McCaffrey went down in the one start against Arizona of 17 carries 109 yards for 6.4 yards per carry like.
- 45:13[SPEAKER_01]: Awesome, but you look at the contract one year 1.2 million dollars minimum no guarantees he's made $4.3 million in his career.
- 45:23[SPEAKER_01]: Then you get to the depth chart and it's just like, oh, all right.
- 45:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Christian McCaffrey obviously.
- 45:28[SPEAKER_01]: However, you want to do the Caleb Black Jordan James.
- 45:30[SPEAKER_01]: Those are two and three.
- 45:32[SPEAKER_01]: Then it's Patrick Taylor, junior four.
- 45:35[SPEAKER_01]: The Niners keep for running backs a lot.
- 45:37[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think that they will this year.
- 45:40[SPEAKER_01]: But, you know, Isaac Corrindo, torn pet king, I'll be ready.
- 45:46[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to be ready.
- 45:47[SPEAKER_01]: It's just not there.
- 45:50[SPEAKER_01]: Since here McCormick you've had some guys rotating on the back end and they've been cut and release cut and release Snips snap snips snap
- 46:00[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 46:01[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think Patrick Taylor Jr. is set without an injury to make the 53 man roster.
- 46:07[SPEAKER_01]: Seems he's not going to practice very much.
- 46:10[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be Jordan James, Katelyn Black, just fighting to the death and trading camp at preseason.
- 46:16[SPEAKER_01]: Those two guys like dude, you're going to get so many snaps out of those two guys with Isaac Grindelau out, but Isaac Grindelau's never made it through a training camp his entire life.
- 46:26[SPEAKER_01]: Patrick Taylor Jr. is number three, since he
- 46:30[SPEAKER_01]: at some point this cat's going to be playing i really hope christian be careful to do what he did last year do it all over again all of us hope that that's a likelihood i am a bedding man i'm not i'm not going to bed on that
- 46:50[SPEAKER_01]: Right here shade like him, but a Patrick Taylor junior has to play.
- 46:53[SPEAKER_01]: That's another tough year for the running back.
- 46:55[SPEAKER_01]: So it is, it like you don't want him starting, but, you know, right now he's number four at some point, Christian Becafrey Jordan, James and Katelyn Plass going to get banged up.
- 47:07[SPEAKER_01]: This is today's NFL running back durability is the lowest of any position in the NFL, like running back
- 47:16[SPEAKER_01]: Special teams and that's a thing like I want somebody that knows the system has been around the system He has done that and he plays hard place so hard.
- 47:25[SPEAKER_01]: He's a good special teamer You put him on punt you put him on punt return You put him on kick off kick off return.
- 47:29[SPEAKER_01]: He could do all of those things So we can eat up special team snaps as well and that that's the back end of the roster type guys At no point do you want Patrick Taylor junior starting but if he has to serve as running back three, which is gonna happen at some point
- 47:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I appreciate Sandra the nice comment on Twitch.
- 47:55[SPEAKER_01]: That's what's up shade.
- 47:56[SPEAKER_01]: I know I'm in the minority, but I want another Isaac G here.
- 48:00[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go me and Wayne only.
- 48:01[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I think that the injury, the torn peck to Isaac Grinto.
- 48:05[SPEAKER_01]: And I talked about this last week, whenever we did the countdown show for him, you know, I'm as far from a Patrick, I'm sorry, Isaac Grindo fan or whatever as possible, but now that he got injured with the torn pack, you just put him on the public, his contract tolls, that's it.
- 48:25[SPEAKER_01]: He ain't going to be ready for training camp like they said, bull crap, 0% chance.
- 48:31[SPEAKER_01]: But you just keep them on the puppy doesn't count against a 53.
- 48:34[SPEAKER_01]: And if for some reason you do get an entry, then you activate them from the pup in October, November, December, whenever.
- 48:43[SPEAKER_01]: And then he could come play for you if somebody does.
- 48:46[SPEAKER_01]: And he might pass Patrick Taylor because the upside is there, the speed, all those things.
- 48:50[SPEAKER_01]: I prefer Patrick Taylor Jr. because that dude is a football player.
- 48:55[SPEAKER_01]: Isaac Rendo is a track guy in a big person body that just can't figure it out.
- 49:00[SPEAKER_01]: just can't awkward, there you go.
- 49:05[SPEAKER_01]: So anyway, that is the roster countdown series.
- 49:09[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to have more shows this week.
- 49:11[SPEAKER_01]: We'll have to talk with Wayne.
- 49:13[SPEAKER_01]: I haven't figured out if we're going to be doing a John Wayne show tomorrow, but I've got to get a lot of these countdown shows in because man, we were 80 days to kick off and I've got, you know, my.
- 49:24[SPEAKER_01]: freaking 20th anniversary trip with a wife, which I'm going to be missing a lot of time.
- 49:29[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry about that ahead of the, uh, but uh, yeah, so like, I've got to step it up, man.
- 49:33[SPEAKER_01]: Y'all got to get on me about these things.
- 49:36[SPEAKER_01]: Look at this, monkey boy, appreciate the super chat.
- 49:38[SPEAKER_01]: You are the freaking man.
- 49:41[SPEAKER_01]: Thanks for the super chat.
- 49:42[SPEAKER_01]: He says, John, if you're having trouble booking a player for a road trip, maybe put this towards the combo plate to entice Jack Joes for a quick visit.
- 49:51[SPEAKER_01]: All in good fun 1395.
- 49:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they get to the, uh, you get the combo, which gives you two on trays and aside.
- 49:59[SPEAKER_01]: And that's, you can't get the coke with that, but you get the fortune cookie.
- 50:02[SPEAKER_01]: There you go.
- 50:03[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, you get that honey wall nut trip, which you got to upgrade for.
- 50:06[SPEAKER_01]: That's like a couple of
- 50:12[SPEAKER_01]: You guys are the absolute best.
- 50:15[SPEAKER_01]: I love you guys.
- 50:16[SPEAKER_01]: This has been a lot of fun.
- 50:18[SPEAKER_01]: I wanna again, say thank you to Ben, Josh and Zach for helping with this entire series and for us.
- 50:23[SPEAKER_01]: In the 49ers rush, we're just gonna keep counting them down in the till next time.
- 50:27[SPEAKER_01]: Stay strong, faithful.
- 50:28[SPEAKER_00]: We out!
