- Dodgers keep rolling! This is The Sports Reset for Saturday July 25th In MLB, the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the New York Mets 4 to 2, and Roki Sasaki gave them the kind of start that travels: seven innings, one run, nine strikeouts, and his first win since May. Shohei Ohtani put Los Angeles ahead with a sacrifice fly in the seventh, then Kyle Tucker gave the Dodgers breathing room with a two-run homer in the eighth as they improved to 4 and 0 against New York this season. The New York Yankees edged the Philadelphia Phillies 1 to 0 behind Cam Schlittler’s 12-strikeout gem and Paul Goldschmidt’s solo homer. The Atlanta Braves beat the Baltimore Orioles 7 to 6 in 10 innings, with Matt Olson’s three-run shot powering a four-run extra frame. The Boston Red Sox answered a snapped 15-game winning streak by beating the Toronto Blue Jays 6 to 4, and the Tampa Bay Rays handled the Cleveland Guardians 11 to 3 behind homers from Ryan Vilade and Richie Palacios. Looking ahead, the WNBA All-Star Game takes over the United Center, with Team Spoon built around Caitlin Clark and A’ja Wilson against Team Coop’s Paige Bueckers and Breanna Stewart. Bueckers and Clark were the top two fan vote-getters, so that young-star split gives the showcase an easy center of gravity before the league gets back to the regular season. In MLB, Yankees-Phillies and Dodgers-Mets run it back, while Braves-Orioles, Blue Jays-Red Sox, and Mariners-Rangers keep the weekend slate busy. In golf, Michael Kim starts the day at 14 under with a three-shot lead at the 3M Open, and Jenny Shin holds a five-shot lead at the ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish Open. In other sports news, LeBron James agreed to join the Philadelphia 76ers on a two-year, $8 million deal, setting up a late-career title push with Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and Jaylen Brown.
