Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: It's your early body praise party. I am Sherry Mackie.
- 0:03Speaker 1: It's time right now for today's word. When God says,
- 0:09Speaker 1: not this door Psalms one, nineteen seventy one says, my
- 0:14Speaker 1: troubles turned out all for the best. They forced me
- 0:18Speaker 1: to learn from your textbook. Few things are more difficult
- 0:24Speaker 1: than dealing with a closed door. We pray, we believe,
- 0:28Speaker 1: we work hard, and expect things to unfold a certain way.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Then suddenly the opportunity disappears, the relationship ends, the promotion
- 0:36Speaker 1: doesn't happen, the dream seems delayed. In those moments, is
- 0:41Speaker 1: easy to become discouraged and wonder God, why did this happen.
- 0:45Speaker 1: What we often fail to realize is that a closed
- 0:49Speaker 1: door is not always a sign of God's disfavor. Sometimes
- 0:53Speaker 1: it is one of the highest acts of protection and direction.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Looking back over your life, there have probably been things
- 1:01Speaker 1: you desperately wanted that never happened. At the time, you
- 1:06Speaker 1: may have been disappointed or even heartbroken. But now, with
- 1:11Speaker 1: the benefit of hindsight, you can see God's wisdom. Had
- 1:15Speaker 1: that door opened, you might have missed something far better.
- 1:18Speaker 1: God sees what we can't see. We see the immediate opportunity.
- 1:23Speaker 1: He sees the long term impact. We see today's disappointment,
- 1:27Speaker 1: he sees tomorrow's breakthrough. We see what we're losing. He
- 1:32Speaker 1: sees what we're about to gain. See the Psalm Is
- 1:35Speaker 1: understood this when he wrote that this trouble turned out
- 1:39Speaker 1: for the best because they taught him lessons he could
- 1:42Speaker 1: not have learned any other way. See, some lessons only
- 1:46Speaker 1: come through waiting. Some growth only comes through disappointment. Some
- 1:50Speaker 1: doors have to close so that we discover strength, gifts,
- 1:54Speaker 1: and opportunities we never knew existed. The challenge is trusting
- 1:58Speaker 1: God while the door is still close. Faith says, even
- 2:01Speaker 1: though I don't understand this season, I trust the one
- 2:04Speaker 1: who is leading me through it. If a relationship ended,
- 2:08Speaker 1: God is not run out of the people. If an
- 2:11Speaker 1: opportunity disappeared, God is not run out of opportunities. If
- 2:14Speaker 1: a dream has been delayed, God is not abandoned what
- 2:17Speaker 1: he purpose for your life. So remember God is the
- 2:20Speaker 1: doorkeeper of your destiny. No person can permanently block what
- 2:24Speaker 1: God is or dane for you, and no closed door
- 2:27Speaker 1: can stop his plan from being fulfilled. So don't spend
- 2:30Speaker 1: your energy trying to force open what God has closed.
- 2:34Speaker 1: Instay it trusts that He is God in your steps.
- 2:37Speaker 1: What feels like a setback today may become one of
- 2:39Speaker 1: the greatest blessings of your life tomorrow. Stay in faith,
- 2:43Speaker 1: stay hopeful, stay open to God's leading. One day you'll
- 2:47Speaker 1: look back and think him for the doors he didn't
- 2:50Speaker 1: let you walk through. O Father, thank you for being
- 2:55Speaker 1: the doorkeeper of our lives, even when we don't understand
- 2:58Speaker 1: why certain doors close, that you are directing our steps
- 3:02Speaker 1: according to your perfect plan. Help us to release disappointments,
- 3:05Speaker 1: let go of what was not meant for us in
- 3:07Speaker 1: the first place, and believe that you have something better ahead.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Oh God, we trust that every closed door is making
- 3:15Speaker 1: way for the right door in your perfect timing in
- 3:18Speaker 1: our lives. In Jesus' name, Now that's your word for today.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Take it applied to your everyday life, and you continue
- 3:25Speaker 1: to be encouraged and inspired. It's your early what he
- 3:27Speaker 1: praise Farnie. I am Sherry Mackie.
