Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: All right.
- 0:00Speaker 2: Hello, everybody, and welcome to another episode of Off the Air,
- 0:03Speaker 2: the weekly podcast from the Lynch & Taco Morning Show
- 0:05Speaker 2: here at 101.1 WJRR in Orlando. I'm Pat Lynch. Taco Bob,
- 0:09Speaker 2: say hello.
- 0:10Speaker 1: Hello. Look at how short I look.
- 0:12Speaker 2: What's going on over there, man?
- 0:14Speaker 3: Well, we have our guests in who we'll introduce in
- 0:17Speaker 3: a moment from Scotland. And We had to have a
- 0:21Speaker 3: third chair, so I went and got a chair, and
- 0:23Speaker 3: this is the tallest as it goes.
- 0:25Speaker 2: So like the kid's chair at the Thanksgiving table there.
- 0:28Speaker 2: It's great.
- 0:30Speaker 1: That's it. And look, it's like our head levels go,
- 0:33Speaker 1: and we'll introduce them. John. Hey, guys. How you doing?
- 0:38Speaker 1: John from Glasgow. From Glasgow. And then we have Leanne.
- 0:41Speaker 4: Hi, everyone.
- 0:42Speaker 1: And then my head. Yes.
- 0:45Speaker 2: So we first met John and Leanne several years ago.
- 0:49Speaker 2: They've been longtime listeners of the show. They have the
- 0:53Speaker 2: iHeartRadio app and other means of being able to listen.
- 0:56Speaker 1: Unofficially. Right, right, right.
- 0:58Speaker 2: Because it works from anywhere. Wink, wink. But yeah, if
- 1:02Speaker 2: you're tech savvy enough, you can make it work. And
- 1:04Speaker 2: you guys have for years. And we kind of got
- 1:06Speaker 2: to know each other over the years. And you guys
- 1:08Speaker 2: make a trek over here to... to the U.S. on
- 1:10Speaker 2: a fairly regular basis for your vacation or holiday?
- 1:14Speaker 1: Yeah, well, usually we're every two years.
- 1:17Speaker 5: We came over September last year. We try to do
- 1:20Speaker 5: September because HHN at Universal's on for.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Halloween Horror Nights.
- 1:23Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:24Speaker 5: So we usually come over then. But first and foremost,
- 1:28Speaker 5: the reason I ended up listening to WGRR was my
- 1:31Speaker 5: brother came over for a vacation here. Probably late 90s,
- 1:34Speaker 5: probably 99 thereabouts. Obviously, WDRR just starting, kind of starting
- 1:39Speaker 5: to get out, you know, 93 onwards. And he always
- 1:43Speaker 5: said to me, if you ever go to America, you know,
- 1:45Speaker 5: I'll end up going to America in about 2000 with
- 1:48Speaker 5: some buddies before.
- 1:49Speaker 1: I met my wife, Leanne.
- 1:50Speaker 5: And back in the days, it was before the internet
- 1:53Speaker 5: and Facebook and stuff. But we tuned into WDRR then
- 1:56Speaker 5: and listened to it. And ever since then, when I
- 1:58Speaker 5: came back with Leanne, I'm like, we can listen to this.
- 2:01Speaker 5: We can listen to this in Scotland. And then since 2015,
- 2:03Speaker 5: we've came to see you guys each time we've came down.
- 2:07Speaker 5: So it's been cool that you guys have. And when
- 2:09Speaker 5: I listen to you guys at work, I'm listening kind
- 2:12Speaker 5: of like 10 a.m., to 3pm, so it's when you
- 2:15Speaker 5: guys are on air, with a time difference 5 to 10.
- 2:18Speaker 2: You're in the midday, right?
- 2:19Speaker 5: It works perfectly for me, like my whole workday is
- 2:22Speaker 5: when you guys are on air.
- 2:23Speaker 2: So it's always where, in Scotland, it's what, either 5
- 2:26Speaker 2: or 6, depending on what time?
- 2:28Speaker 5: Usually 5 hours, 5, yeah. It's 5 hours. That's a
- 2:32Speaker 5: diamond time difference, yeah.
- 2:33Speaker 2: So it works for you, and we appreciate you for
- 2:36Speaker 2: all these years being loyal to the radio station and
- 2:39Speaker 2: discovering us.
- 2:40Speaker 3: Yeah, we have several listeners from across the pond who
- 2:43Speaker 3: have figured out the workaround.
- 2:45Speaker 1: Why is it the people in Europe have to figure
- 2:48Speaker 1: out the workaround?
- 2:49Speaker 5: Because it's the advertising issues. So, like, you guys, like.
- 2:54Speaker 2: Copyright stuff.
- 2:55Speaker 1: Copyright stuff, Good Boy Vodka, whatever else.
- 2:57Speaker 5: Like, they've not paid for it.
- 2:58Speaker 2: Look at him dropping the sponsor mentions. You know how
- 3:02Speaker 2: it works.
- 3:03Speaker 1: I love Bud Light. Hook me up with some Bud Light.
- 3:07Speaker 5: But, like, I think it's, like... You can get the
- 3:10Speaker 5: iHeartRadio app. If you go into, like, a Google Play
- 3:13Speaker 5: store or anything, it's like this item is not available
- 3:15Speaker 5: in your country.
- 3:16Speaker 2: Right.
- 3:16Speaker 5: So you can just, like, basically Google the APK and
- 3:19Speaker 5: download it that way, sideload it, and it lets you
- 3:21Speaker 5: play in the radio station.
- 3:23Speaker 1: Sideloading. Sideloading.
- 3:24Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 3:25Speaker 1: This is a number one. I was going to say,
- 3:28Speaker 1: she pulled it as far as it'll come.
- 3:30Speaker 2: Just scoot up just a touch more.
- 3:32Speaker 1: It's because the thing will hit your knee. There you are.
- 3:36Speaker 3: Pat said it earlier before we started the podcast. He goes, yeah,
- 3:39Speaker 3: just get close like you guys are married. So you're actually,
- 3:44Speaker 3: are you guys, you're going on the rock and the
- 3:47Speaker 3: river cruise?
- 3:48Speaker 1: Yeah, we're going tomorrow.
- 3:49Speaker 2: It should be fun for a couple hours.
- 3:51Speaker 5: This will be good for the cameras, hopefully, right? Because
- 3:53Speaker 5: I've got a t-shirt For Bob. I've got one for
- 3:56Speaker 5: you as well, Pat, right? But I've got one for
- 3:57Speaker 5: Bob that you're going to lose your mind on.
- 3:59Speaker 2: Okay.
- 4:00Speaker 4: We have gifts, as always. We always bring out gifts.
- 4:02Speaker 3: They always do bring gifts. They've done food in the
- 4:05Speaker 3: past and sweets.
- 4:07Speaker 1: Oh, the iron broom.
- 4:08Speaker 4: Yes. The iron broom.
- 4:09Speaker 1: Try and open it up so that... I'll open it
- 4:11Speaker 1: right to the camera. I have to sit up, though.
- 4:14Speaker 1: Pat can see the front of it.
- 4:14Speaker 2: Show us what you got there.
- 4:16Speaker 1: No, I haven't seen this, so I'll show you the
- 4:18Speaker 1: front first. Oh, good.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Oh, that is great.
- 4:25Speaker 1: Okay.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Well played. Well played.
- 4:29Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Oh, I am going to.
- 4:34Speaker 3: On the front, it's the AI version of me that
- 4:37Speaker 3: somebody did for our river cruise.
- 4:40Speaker 1: And then on the back.
- 4:43Speaker 1: The bathroom king.
- 4:44Speaker 3: Of Florida oh my god and it says 10% AI
- 4:47Speaker 3: on the front guys that is.
- 4:52Speaker 5: I love you guys that is epic holy shit I
- 4:56Speaker 5: had to get that off the website before it got
- 4:58Speaker 5: pulled luckily I managed to screenshot it so I got
- 5:01Speaker 5: it and I'm like thank god I got it.
- 5:03Speaker 3: And luckily it was, unfortunately, but luckily it was on
- 5:06Speaker 3: there for about two and a half weeks.
- 5:08Speaker 2: You got to wear that tomorrow night. I am. That's
- 5:10Speaker 2: what they just said. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 5:12Speaker 1: Am I able to wash it ahead of time? So
- 5:14Speaker 1: I don't know if that's going to be of the
- 5:15Speaker 1: same significance, but I'll pass it over to you.
- 5:17Speaker 2: What do we got here?
- 5:18Speaker 4: One for yourself.
- 5:21Speaker 1: I kind of messed up a wee bit. I pulled
- 5:24Speaker 1: both of us in, but I kind of messed up.
- 5:25Speaker 1: You have to hold it up to the camera. Okay,
- 5:29Speaker 1: you're close.
- 5:30Speaker 2: I was close.
- 5:30Speaker 1: You're close. Is it going to be the drawbridge? Drawbridge.
- 5:35Speaker 2: He went with me wanting to work one day in
- 5:37Speaker 2: a tall booth.
- 5:38Speaker 1: My apologies. Same thing, basically. I know.
- 5:42Speaker 5: It was like a week later after the T-shirt got
- 5:44Speaker 5: printed and you guys were talking about it.
- 5:46Speaker 1: I'm like, my God, I messed up there. It was drawbridge. Dude, it's...
- 5:50Speaker 1: This is the best gift ever.
- 5:52Speaker 2: Absolutely phenomenal.
- 5:54Speaker 1: Now, are we able to wash them?
- 5:57Speaker 2: Of course.
- 5:57Speaker 1: I didn't know because a lot of times with logo stuff,
- 6:00Speaker 1: it can... I think that should be good.
- 6:02Speaker 2: Hey, Fruit of the Loom high-quality t-shirts, man. They didn't
- 6:06Speaker 2: skimp on this.
- 6:07Speaker 3: I can feel that they're high-quality 100%. It's a heavy shirt.
- 6:11Speaker 3: I'm just saying I wanted to make... That is funny
- 6:14Speaker 3: as shit, dude.
- 6:16Speaker 1: Oh, my God. Do you like with this, the fake
- 6:21Speaker 1: picture of me? He's got a tattoo on my forearm.
- 6:24Speaker 3: And a listener noticed that and said, Bob, I don't
- 6:27Speaker 3: even think you have any tats.
- 6:29Speaker 1: But AI Bob does.
- 6:31Speaker 2: Thank you, guys.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Thank you. You're so welcome. You know what the funny
- 6:34Speaker 1: thing was?
- 6:34Speaker 5: When I was looking to make up the original T-shirt
- 6:36Speaker 5: before that, went up for the St.
- 6:38Speaker 1: John Rivers thing.
- 6:39Speaker 5: When I was just looking at, you know, you can
- 6:41Speaker 5: use AI to make general T-shirts in general. And that
- 6:45Speaker 5: picture of Bob came up on the site before the
- 6:49Speaker 5: WJRR went up.
- 6:50Speaker 2: That's scary, isn't it?
- 6:52Speaker 4: You sent me the picture at work and I'm like.
- 6:54Speaker 5: That is not Bob.
- 6:57Speaker 1: No way that is Bob.
- 6:58Speaker 3: And like you said, because you're... Accent so like actually
- 7:03Speaker 3: it's a lot more Americanized now, but no it's not
- 7:10Speaker 3: But just for the record what he's.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Just be like what the hell are they saying?
- 7:15Speaker 3: So the comment that he made was Beat this before
- 7:19Speaker 3: it even went on the river before the river cruise
- 7:22Speaker 3: ad even went up online with AI Bob This was there.
- 7:25Speaker 1: Yes, Pat. You're right. That is scary.
- 7:27Speaker 2: Yeah Wow If you're just joining us, our international guests
- 7:32Speaker 2: from Scotland, some international listeners and folks who've become friends
- 7:36Speaker 2: of the show over the years. John and Leanne Herbert
- 7:39Speaker 2: from Scotland. What city in Scotland.
- 7:42Speaker 1: Are you guys living in?
- 7:43Speaker 4: Near Glasgow.
- 7:43Speaker 5: So we're near where Glasgow Airport is.
- 7:45Speaker 1: We're the west coast. We're the west coast.
- 7:46Speaker 5: So we're kind of like probably an hour away from
- 7:49Speaker 5: where Edinburgh is. So it's the main capital with the
- 7:51Speaker 5: castle and stuff like that. Well, you guys met a
- 7:53Speaker 5: lot of people during the World Cup for the Tartan
- 7:56Speaker 5: Army that came over.
- 7:56Speaker 2: We wanted to bring that up. The Tartan Army.
- 8:00Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 8:00Speaker 2: Are you guys part of that?
- 8:01Speaker 4: Yeah. So.
- 8:03Speaker 5: If you're Scottish, obviously you want your team to do well.
- 8:06Speaker 5: I mean, Scotland sucked.
- 8:07Speaker 2: Just phenomenally, perennially bad, right?
- 8:10Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, they're like the worst of the worst.
- 8:11Speaker 5: But their supporters are some of the best supporters you'll
- 8:14Speaker 5: get in the world.
- 8:14Speaker 1: You guys met them.
- 8:15Speaker 2: We learned that fast. Great people, man.
- 8:17Speaker 1: And like, if you.
- 8:18Speaker 5: Look at even the way that the Boston people, you know,
- 8:22Speaker 5: embraced them and everybody met them. They went to the
- 8:25Speaker 5: baseball games, cleaning up after themselves.
- 8:28Speaker 1: I mean, they drank.
- 8:29Speaker 2: Drank the place dry, yeah. Well, we saw that here
- 8:32Speaker 2: locally because we did a whole series of World Cup
- 8:35Speaker 2: events with Mick Ultra. And the Tartan Army showed up
- 8:41Speaker 2: ahead of– no, we had tickets for the Scotland.
- 8:45Speaker 5: Match in Miami.
- 8:47Speaker 2: So there's 2,000 people that have showed up, international– It
- 8:52Speaker 2: was crazy, and it was hot as blazes out.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Oh, God, yeah.
- 8:55Speaker 2: This was set up on an asphalt parking lot outside
- 8:58Speaker 2: of this bar out near I-Drive. Was that Murphy's?
- 9:02Speaker 1: Was that Murphy's one?
- 9:02Speaker 2: Which one was that at, Bob?
- 9:04Speaker 1: I can't remember.
- 9:05Speaker 2: There was a couple Irish slash Scottish type bars out
- 9:09Speaker 2: there because we were at a bunch of them. Yeah.
- 9:12Speaker 2: I'm like, I'm looking at what's going on. I'm going,
- 9:14Speaker 2: this is insane. But insanely fun.
- 9:18Speaker 1: It was good.
- 9:18Speaker 5: And this is the thing. I mean, like.
- 9:20Speaker 1: Nicest ever.
- 9:21Speaker 5: Scottish fans, the football fans, they know that they're the underdogs. Like,
- 9:25Speaker 5: they don't go in and go, we're going to win this.
- 9:28Speaker 5: You know, we're going to win this tournament. We're going
- 9:29Speaker 5: to win the cup. They're happy to be there. We're
- 9:32Speaker 5: happy to be taking part, sort of thing, you know.
- 9:34Speaker 5: But their fans are so passionate about. And they're very,
- 9:37Speaker 5: you know, it was like, I don't know how to
- 9:39Speaker 5: explain it. Like, a lot of the time you listen
- 9:41Speaker 5: to whatever radio station, whatever news station you listen to,
- 9:44Speaker 5: and it's all doom and gloom, and the world's so
- 9:46Speaker 5: polarised just now. And that whole time of the World
- 9:49Speaker 5: Cup when Scotland came over, it was like a different America.
- 9:52Speaker 5: You've seen people embraced all these people, and it was
- 9:54Speaker 5: people coming out, having a beer, shaking each other's hands.
- 9:57Speaker 5: And it was like, how can I not be like
- 9:59Speaker 5: this more often?
- 10:00Speaker 1: They brought us in to this tartan. Tartan, right? Tartan army?
- 10:06Speaker 2: No, tartan.
- 10:07Speaker 1: Tartan. Tartan.
- 10:10Speaker 2: That's somebody in English, primarily.
- 10:14Speaker 3: Yeah, well, either way, the tartan, whatever it was, they
- 10:17Speaker 3: just welcomed Pat and I in like we're family.
- 10:19Speaker 1: I was like, all right, dude, let's hang out. I
- 10:22Speaker 1: got to tell you guys something, too.
- 10:24Speaker 2: You guys already know this because you've been here numerous times,
- 10:26Speaker 2: but the folks... your fellow countrymen and women who were here,
- 10:30Speaker 2: and a lot of them for the first time. And
- 10:33Speaker 2: we saw this over and over, not just from the
- 10:34Speaker 2: Scottish fans, but from a lot of the international fans.
- 10:37Speaker 2: They get here and they have false expectations of what
- 10:41Speaker 2: they've been told about America and Americans in general. And
- 10:46Speaker 2: you so quickly become keenly aware, which most of us
- 10:50Speaker 2: already are, that the media is full of shit.
- 10:53Speaker 4: Absolutely.
- 10:54Speaker 2: Or shite, as you guys might say.
- 10:56Speaker 1: I like that.
- 10:57Speaker 5: At the end, shite, I'll take that. Yeah, no, I mean, totally.
- 11:01Speaker 5: Every single time, I think it's like a tunnel vision
- 11:03Speaker 5: that you see. It's like a paradox of this is
- 11:07Speaker 5: what the world is like, specifically in America, because there's
- 11:10Speaker 5: a lot of stuff going on like that just now.
- 11:13Speaker 5: We've been here so many. This is probably our seventh
- 11:15Speaker 5: time together. We've been to Vegas as well. Anywhere we've
- 11:20Speaker 5: ever went, the people have embraced us. And I don't
- 11:22Speaker 5: know if that's maybe because we're just in tourist parts
- 11:24Speaker 5: like Universal, DisneySeaWorld, these sort of places. Obviously, this is
- 11:28Speaker 5: a bit more real America than a Maitland that you're
- 11:31Speaker 5: out with, the main area. But we've never came across
- 11:35Speaker 5: anybody that's been... I'm not saying bad things don't happen. Obviously,
- 11:38Speaker 5: you guys cover it every day in a duology. But
- 11:40Speaker 5: on the general basis, most people are friendly. They'll sit
- 11:44Speaker 5: down and chat with you.
- 11:45Speaker 1: They'll have a beer.
- 11:46Speaker 2: And you can say the same for a good part
- 11:48Speaker 2: of the world, man. Sure, there's lots of places that
- 11:51Speaker 2: are hell holes and you never even want to think
- 11:52Speaker 2: about going to because you fear for your life. But
- 11:55Speaker 2: the United States in general is not one of those places.
- 11:57Speaker 5: It's just not.
- 11:58Speaker 1: It's polarized by the media. It's totally polarized.
- 12:01Speaker 2: They love pitting us against each other. Pick an issue,
- 12:05Speaker 2: they'll pit us against each other. because it means clicks
- 12:08Speaker 2: and eyeballs for them, and it gets people lathered up.
- 12:11Speaker 2: And if we would all just maybe take a moment
- 12:14Speaker 2: to realize that's going on, we could probably tamp down
- 12:17Speaker 2: a bunch of this needless bullshit.
- 12:19Speaker 5: 100%.
- 12:20Speaker 2: And we're never going to agree on everything.
- 12:22Speaker 4: No.
- 12:23Speaker 2: And if we understand that, I think it might be
- 12:25Speaker 2: a little easier to move forward. That's half the battle.
- 12:27Speaker 1: That's half the battle. I agree.
- 12:29Speaker 2: You guys, you find out with your media, though, too,
- 12:32Speaker 2: doing the same kind of crap.
- 12:34Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, I.
- 12:36Speaker 5: Think it really comes down to what news station you
- 12:39Speaker 5: follow on Facebook. Because they feed you whatever content the
- 12:42Speaker 5: agenda is.
- 12:43Speaker 2: They all do the same thing.
- 12:44Speaker 5: They all do the same thing. But as I say,
- 12:47Speaker 5: we try and see past that. And when we come
- 12:51Speaker 5: on our trips, we can normally get here for two weeks.
- 12:54Speaker 5: I know for Americans, sometimes that's not, but we get
- 12:57Speaker 5: paid leave.
- 12:58Speaker 2: Yeah, we wanted to ask you about that.
- 13:00Speaker 1: There's holiday stuff on it.
- 13:02Speaker 2: Your vacation, time off, holiday, whatever you want to refer to,
- 13:06Speaker 2: it just seems like so many other countries have way
- 13:10Speaker 2: more time off. What do you get? You guys both
- 13:13Speaker 2: work full-time?
- 13:14Speaker 1: Yes.
- 13:14Speaker 2: So what do you get as a full-time employee generally?
- 13:17Speaker 4: We get six weeks. Wow.
- 13:20Speaker 2: Right out of the gates.
- 13:21Speaker 1: Yes.
- 13:22Speaker 4: So every 1st of, was it in the March?
- 13:25Speaker 1: Yep.
- 13:25Speaker 4: So every 1st of April. we go into a new entitlement.
- 13:28Speaker 4: So we get 33 days paid annually. So we can
- 13:32Speaker 4: use that as two weeks here.
- 13:35Speaker 2: Use it or lose it?
- 13:37Speaker 5: You can sometimes carry over. A small amount. You can
- 13:39Speaker 5: sometimes maybe carry a week over or something. But yeah,
- 13:42Speaker 5: you'd be stupid not.
- 13:42Speaker 2: To use it. Well, otherwise, I mean, you start stacking up.
- 13:45Speaker 4: Yes.
- 13:45Speaker 1: And then you may not be paying to use it.
- 13:47Speaker 2: You're going to be away more than you are at work.
- 13:49Speaker 1: Correct. That's what my mom did.
- 13:51Speaker 3: She worked for the local hospital for over 50 years.
- 13:55Speaker 1: Same with you, right?
- 13:56Speaker 5: Exactly.
- 13:57Speaker 1: She worked there for a very– like over 50 years.
- 14:00Speaker 3: She had so much overtime and whatever that she was
- 14:05Speaker 3: able to– when she finally retired for the third time,
- 14:07Speaker 3: she kept going back. She was able to use her
- 14:12Speaker 3: time off to nine months early. I mean she just
- 14:16Speaker 3: had so much over the years.
- 14:17Speaker 2: A lot of people don't realize that, but here– employers
- 14:22Speaker 2: don't have to give you paid time off.
- 14:24Speaker 1: Paid time off, yeah.
- 14:25Speaker 2: I mean, they give you days off each week.
- 14:26Speaker 5: So you're trying to accrue some money to go on
- 14:28Speaker 5: a vacation somewhere.
- 14:29Speaker 2: Right. Generally, if you work full-time somewhere, that's a benefit
- 14:33Speaker 2: is you get X amount of time off to start,
- 14:35Speaker 2: and then on anniversary dates that are set by employers,
- 14:39Speaker 2: you can parlay it into additional weeks. But it caps
- 14:42Speaker 2: out usually. It usually caps out.
- 14:44Speaker 4: On top of the six weeks we get, we also
- 14:46Speaker 4: get Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Day, 2nd of January.
- 14:51Speaker 2: So all your bank holidays plus the traditional holidays.
- 14:54Speaker 4: So we've got one on the 28th of September, so
- 14:56Speaker 4: we've got one coming up. We get Easter weekend, Friday, Monday,
- 14:59Speaker 4: we'll add May Day.
- 15:00Speaker 1: We get May Days. And there's a few other ones.
- 15:04Speaker 5: When we landed here, what was it, the 7th of September?
- 15:07Speaker 4: Yes.
- 15:07Speaker 1: It was Labor Day.
- 15:08Speaker 2: Okay.
- 15:09Speaker 5: So the bag carousel MCO was like, I think one
- 15:12Speaker 5: guy was working.
- 15:13Speaker 1: He was like backed up.
- 15:15Speaker 2: At the airport.
- 15:15Speaker 5: Probably people are obviously off on a day's holiday or whatever.
- 15:19Speaker 5: But as well as that total off topic, but as
- 15:21Speaker 5: well as getting those two weeks paid leave, well, essentially
- 15:25Speaker 5: six weeks over the year, Scotland over England, we get
- 15:29Speaker 5: free health care, free prescriptions, free GP visits, free education.
- 15:35Speaker 3: Dude, I always say I'm not a Europe guy.
- 15:40Speaker 2: Are you guys considered socialist? Are you?
- 15:44Speaker 1: Is that a socialist?
- 15:45Speaker 2: Because it certainly sounds like the socialist system.
- 15:47Speaker 4: We could stay neutral.
- 15:48Speaker 5: So the thing is.
- 15:49Speaker 2: Who pays for it?
- 15:50Speaker 5: So here's the thing, right?
- 15:51Speaker 2: There's no such thing as free.
- 15:52Speaker 5: Of course it's not, right? So everybody always gets bogged
- 15:54Speaker 5: down in this. So basically, you guys have deductions that
- 15:58Speaker 5: come off your salary.
- 15:59Speaker 2: We contribute towards our health care.
- 16:01Speaker 1: So we do the same.
- 16:02Speaker 5: A proportion of that will come off our salary.
- 16:03Speaker 4: It's called national insurance.
- 16:04Speaker 5: National insurance will come off weekly or monthly, depending on
- 16:07Speaker 5: how you're paid. And that goes towards paying for all
- 16:09Speaker 5: your health care. And, like, when I say that, like,
- 16:12Speaker 5: I mean, people always say, oh, it's no free.
- 16:14Speaker 1: It's no free, right?
- 16:15Speaker 5: But, like, here in the States, like, I see horror
- 16:18Speaker 5: stories where sometimes people are going in to get, you know, like,
- 16:21Speaker 5: an operation, and God forbid somebody ever had cancer or
- 16:24Speaker 5: something like that. Oh, yeah. It's a really expensive, you know, treatment.
- 16:27Speaker 1: Sure.
- 16:28Speaker 5: Chemo. Like, we, unfortunately, I know people, my nana, my great-grandmother,
- 16:35Speaker 5: who was 92 when she died of cancer, like, the
- 16:37Speaker 5: treatment that she went through, God, she got all that
- 16:41Speaker 5: literally gratis, you know, she'd paid, she'd worked her whole life.
- 16:45Speaker 5: So for us, it's so alien to come in a
- 16:49Speaker 5: situation where we're going like, you wouldn't need to pay
- 16:51Speaker 5: for that.
- 16:51Speaker 1: Like, where would we get that money from? You know,
- 16:53Speaker 1: it's alien.
- 16:54Speaker 5: It's one of the, we even get prescriptions free as well.
- 16:58Speaker 5: So like, if you had to go in and say, get,
- 17:00Speaker 5: you know, antibiotics or something, you went to like the pharmacist,
- 17:04Speaker 5: All free.
- 17:05Speaker 2: Well, you know, the other thing, there's a huge other
- 17:08Speaker 2: caveat that's a big difference. There's 335 million people in
- 17:12Speaker 2: this country. You're not going to be providing free anything
- 17:15Speaker 2: to everyone.
- 17:16Speaker 4: But the divide is, England still needs to pay for prescriptions. Scotland,
- 17:21Speaker 4: we've got our own government.
- 17:22Speaker 1: We've got the SNP.
- 17:23Speaker 4: So that's why legislation is like, okay, we'll give you
- 17:27Speaker 4: free prescriptions. You pay into it anyway. But England, they're
- 17:31Speaker 4: kind of, well, we've still got to pay what? £ 8
- 17:35Speaker 4: per item.
- 17:36Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:36Speaker 4: So if you're getting five items, that's... Adds up. Yeah,
- 17:40Speaker 4: enough £ 50 for you.
- 17:41Speaker 1: Yeah, adds up. So it's kind of.
- 17:42Speaker 5: I mean, don't get me wrong. There's pros and cons
- 17:44Speaker 5: for every sale.
- 17:45Speaker 4: Sure.
- 17:45Speaker 1: There's pros and cons for every sale.
- 17:46Speaker 2: But we're jealous of the time off stuff. Let's bring
- 17:49Speaker 2: it back to that. I mean, that's got to be
- 17:50Speaker 2: nice if you're going on vacation to be able to go, hey,
- 17:53Speaker 2: I'm going to do two weeks.
- 17:55Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 17:55Speaker 1: I'm going to do six.
- 17:56Speaker 3: I don't even know what Boxing Day is, but I'm
- 17:59Speaker 3: taking it. When you return presents, right? I thought that's
- 18:04Speaker 3: what it was. That's what people do.
- 18:07Speaker 1: And it's sales. Boxing Day sales.
- 18:09Speaker 4: It's like Black Friday. So it's the Boxing Day sales.
- 18:12Speaker 4: Everything's massively reduced. But they do that before because it
- 18:14Speaker 4: was Black Friday. It's now hit the UK as well.
- 18:17Speaker 1: Okay.
- 18:18Speaker 5: We've got Black Friday pretty much starting... Halloween's out the road, boom,
- 18:22Speaker 5: Black Friday, lead up. It's Black Friday month now instead
- 18:25Speaker 5: of Black Friday day.
- 18:26Speaker 2: Well, yeah, that's been happening here for a few years.
- 18:28Speaker 1: It picks up, picks up.
- 18:31Speaker 5: We see it getting busier and stuff like that.
- 18:33Speaker 2: So where else in the U.S. are you guys got
- 18:36Speaker 2: bucket list stuff still where you want to get to
- 18:38Speaker 2: and check out?
- 18:38Speaker 4: Salem, Massachusetts.
- 18:40Speaker 2: Salem, man. Okay, the whole witch trial stuff. Okay, you're
- 18:43Speaker 2: fascinated by that stuff.
- 18:44Speaker 4: Our hometown, it's famous for the witch trials.
- 18:48Speaker 5: The Salem stuff, yeah.
- 18:50Speaker 4: No, the Paisley Witch Trials. And where we stay now
- 18:54Speaker 4: is a village called Erskine. And that had the Bergaran
- 18:57Speaker 4: Witch Trials as well. So it seems to be a
- 19:00Speaker 4: fall where the history goes. So it's where the Burnham
- 19:04Speaker 4: and the Paisley Witches took place. And then there's a
- 19:06Speaker 4: horseshoe memorial in the middle of a road where the
- 19:09Speaker 4: remains were all buried.
- 19:11Speaker 2: Where else?
- 19:11Speaker 1: Yes.
- 19:11Speaker 2: Where else? It's a big country.
- 19:14Speaker 1: I know.
- 19:14Speaker 4: Oh, we've done Mexico.
- 19:15Speaker 5: We've done Vegas. We've done Vegas. We've done New York
- 19:18Speaker 5: a couple of times. Try to watch the tours.
- 19:22Speaker 2: Has the whole Montana, Wyoming craze caught on with the
- 19:25Speaker 2: Yellowstone type stuff?
- 19:26Speaker 4: Washington, the Twin Peaks locations.
- 19:28Speaker 2: Yeah. Twin Peaks.
- 19:31Speaker 1: You mean like the restaurant? No, no.
- 19:33Speaker 2: They went to Twin Peaks here, I was going to say.
- 19:34Speaker 1: Hey, how do you spell the name of your town
- 19:36Speaker 1: so I.
- 19:36Speaker 2: Can Google image it?
- 19:37Speaker 5: Paisley.
- 19:37Speaker 1: Paisley.
- 19:40Speaker 3: Hey, how do you spell the name of your town
- 19:45Speaker 3: so I can Google image it?
- 19:46Speaker 1: Paisley. Paisley?
- 19:49Speaker 4: P-A-I.
- 19:50Speaker 1: Oh, like the clothes. Paisley Patton, yeah. Wait, Parton? Oh, Parton? No,
- 19:57Speaker 1: I said Patton. P-A-T-T-E-R-N. That's like the... Patton, got it.
- 20:02Speaker 4: It's not relevant to.
- 20:03Speaker 1: It's just the.
- 20:04Speaker 4: Name of it.
- 20:05Speaker 1: Paisley Patton, Scotland. Go ahead, Pat. You don't have to wait.
- 20:10Speaker 2: A Scotland-related question. I just got hooked and finished over
- 20:14Speaker 2: the course of about three months the TV show Shetland.
- 20:18Speaker 2: Did you ever watch that?
- 20:20Speaker 5: I know what you mean, but I've never seen it.
- 20:22Speaker 2: It's a police show, and it's filmed and based in
- 20:25Speaker 2: the Shetland Islands, which is a Scottish territory off of
- 20:29Speaker 2: actually Norway and the North Atlantic. I'm fascinated by it.
- 20:33Speaker 5: There's a lot of shows like that, kind of local
- 20:35Speaker 5: shows filmed.
- 20:35Speaker 1: I mean, the whole.
- 20:37Speaker 5: Traitor Show, that's filmed in Scotland as well.
- 20:39Speaker 2: Have you ever been to the Shetland Islands?
- 20:41Speaker 4: No.
- 20:42Speaker 2: Is that not a place you guys ever think about
- 20:43Speaker 2: going to?
- 20:44Speaker 5: No, really.
- 20:45Speaker 4: No.
- 20:47Speaker 2: It's never hot there. That's what appeals to me the most.
- 20:50Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what turns me off. It makes me not
- 20:53Speaker 1: a Europe dude.
- 20:54Speaker 2: Right. Not a Europe dude, John.
- 20:57Speaker 5: But then when you guys went to Ireland, it must
- 20:59Speaker 5: have been cold when you guys went to Ireland.
- 21:01Speaker 2: Actually, when we went to Ireland, it was right at St.
- 21:03Speaker 2: Patrick's Day time. On St. Patrick's Day, we got all
- 21:07Speaker 2: the seasons in one day treatment.
- 21:09Speaker 1: How cool. I mean, for two dudes from Florida, of course,
- 21:12Speaker 1: we've been in snow before. But to get... Rain, sleet, snow.
- 21:17Speaker 2: The whole deal in one day.
- 21:18Speaker 1: And then sunburned.
- 21:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:20Speaker 1: Standing with the parade. They were really cool over there
- 21:23Speaker 1: in Ireland.
- 21:23Speaker 2: I would like to go back there and spend some
- 21:25Speaker 2: time there too.
- 21:26Speaker 1: Good, good, good.
- 21:27Speaker 5: A lot of people can make a connection, have that
- 21:31Speaker 5: Irish-Scootish connection. There's a lot of that there.
- 21:40Speaker 1: Yeah, I'd say it's been there for a long time.
- 21:43Speaker 1: Do you guys.
- 21:44Speaker 2: Have a house or apartment? What's your living arrangement? How
- 21:49Speaker 2: old's your house? How many years? Oh, okay, so it's
- 21:54Speaker 2: 50-something years old.
- 21:56Speaker 5: Okay, all right.
- 21:57Speaker 1: You said the 1770s. I was thinking, oh.
- 22:00Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying. Do you got any historic structures
- 22:04Speaker 2: in the area you live like that going back?
- 22:07Speaker 1: Not particularly. You're more kind of like up.
- 22:09Speaker 5: To, like, Starland, Edinburgh, taking a look at that.
- 22:12Speaker 4: What was it they were filming? What movie?
- 22:16Speaker 5: Oh, so in Glasgow, they're filming the new Batman film.
- 22:19Speaker 5: They're filming the.
- 22:19Speaker 2: New Batman film.
- 22:20Speaker 4: Oh, yeah, okay.
- 22:21Speaker 1: And they filmed.
- 22:22Speaker 5: Spider-Man one, the one that just came out.
- 22:24Speaker 1: Yeah, brand new day.
- 22:25Speaker 5: Because a lot of Glasgow's architecture doubles very much like
- 22:28Speaker 5: New York.
- 22:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 22:29Speaker 5: So they can make it look like a kind of
- 22:31Speaker 5: Gotham sort of thing, you know, and whatever else.
- 22:32Speaker 1: So a lot of the architecture looks very similar. They've
- 22:34Speaker 1: done it on the 4Z.
- 22:35Speaker 5: World War Z with Brad Pitt was done in Glasgow
- 22:37Speaker 5: as well.
- 22:37Speaker 2: Obviously there's some tax incentives given to filmmakers.
- 22:40Speaker 1: And that shows you how crazy that is.
- 22:41Speaker 5: They'll fly a full flight crew of film and television
- 22:45Speaker 5: all the way over.
- 22:46Speaker 4: And there's some Avengers in Edinburgh as well.
- 22:48Speaker 5: Yeah, Avengers was in Edinburgh as well. So there was quite.
- 22:51Speaker 1: A lot of stuff filmed there. It must be tax
- 22:54Speaker 1: breaks or something I don't know it's gotta.
- 22:55Speaker 3: Be sober Steve texted and he goes welcome to the
- 22:58Speaker 3: metalheads Welcome to the metalheads from other countries.
- 23:02Speaker 1: Love it. Welcome love metalheads from other countries You guys
- 23:06Speaker 1: can see this.
- 23:07Speaker 5: I'm written my Metallica t-shirt and it was a local
- 23:10Speaker 5: Glasgow artist So it's actually good Glasgow on it.
- 23:13Speaker 2: Oh cool.
- 23:14Speaker 5: We went to see that in June.
- 23:15Speaker 2: That's cool.
- 23:16Speaker 1: Oh Oh, right on.
- 23:19Speaker 2: That's awesome.
- 23:20Speaker 1: Right.
- 23:21Speaker 2: Location-specific.
- 23:22Speaker 1: It's probably good that it was location-specific.
- 23:23Speaker 2: They just announced a whole run of shows here in
- 23:25Speaker 2: the U.S. for next year.
- 23:27Speaker 5: Nothing in Florida, though?
- 23:29Speaker 2: No, because they're hidden places that they haven't been to yet.
- 23:33Speaker 2: There's some places you go, wow, Metallica's going to play there,
- 23:36Speaker 2: but it's cool. It's cool.
- 23:38Speaker 3: And we've been kind of spoiled here in Florida, if
- 23:41Speaker 3: you think about it.
- 23:41Speaker 2: We get most of the shows in Florida.
- 23:43Speaker 3: For the reason that you all come. I mean, there's
- 23:45Speaker 3: so much cool stuff to do. they keep that in
- 23:48Speaker 3: mind too. You know, like the guys, few of them
- 23:50Speaker 3: like to surf. So remember they went, uh, surfing with, uh,
- 23:54Speaker 3: Kelly Slater, Kelly and Sean Slater.
- 23:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:57Speaker 1: And, uh, yeah. So they, they, we've been spoiled seeing
- 24:00Speaker 1: Metallica launch here.
- 24:01Speaker 2: But, uh, yeah. So what else? I had something I
- 24:04Speaker 2: wanted to ask you that we were going down that
- 24:07Speaker 2: path there. Um, concerts that you go to, do you
- 24:10Speaker 2: get them right where you're at or are you having
- 24:12Speaker 2: to travel?
- 24:13Speaker 1: No, we get them pretty much where we're at.
- 24:16Speaker 5: It's like probably 20 minutes away from where we stay.
- 24:19Speaker 5: So we get a lot of the kind of big
- 24:20Speaker 5: names that come through.
- 24:21Speaker 2: Most everybody comes through.
- 24:22Speaker 1: Yeah, Metallica.
- 24:23Speaker 5: So like Glasgow tends to get a lot more stuff
- 24:26Speaker 5: than Edinburgh, which is the main capital. And I think
- 24:28Speaker 5: it pisses a lot of people off in Edinburgh that
- 24:29Speaker 5: they've got to travel through Glasgow to see these bands.
- 24:32Speaker 4: Same with Aberdeen, Dundee, they've got to.
- 24:34Speaker 5: In fact, when you were interviewing Chris Jericho a few
- 24:37Speaker 5: weeks back, he was going to AEW in Glasgow.
- 24:40Speaker 1: So I seen that. And then he was on.
- 24:42Speaker 5: It was so.
- 24:45Speaker 5: Because like you were interviewing him one day and the
- 24:48Speaker 5: next day he was on a Scottish radio station.
- 24:50Speaker 1: Wow, that's a trip.
- 24:51Speaker 2: Kind of wild, right?
- 24:52Speaker 5: Straight on a plane, boom, into Glasgow. And then he
- 24:55Speaker 5: was on the radio station there. So that was pretty
- 24:56Speaker 5: awesome to see that.
- 24:57Speaker 3: And do you think they had the wrestling over there,
- 24:59Speaker 3: like Pat said, for tax reasons too?
- 25:01Speaker 1: Well, no, they just do world tours.
- 25:04Speaker 2: Wrestling's a global thing.
- 25:06Speaker 5: So we went to WrestleMania in Vegas last year, 2025.
- 25:11Speaker 5: And then it was meant to go to New Orleans
- 25:13Speaker 5: last year.
- 25:13Speaker 2: This year.
- 25:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 25:14Speaker 5: But they realized they made so much money in Vegas
- 25:17Speaker 5: that they went back to Vegas.
- 25:18Speaker 1: But, you know, it wasn't the best. You can only
- 25:21Speaker 1: do Vegas so many times. I like Vegas.
- 25:24Speaker 4: Oh, I love it.
- 25:24Speaker 1: I'm a gambler, man. They love my money.
- 25:26Speaker 2: Our guests this morning, John and Leanne Herbert, they live
- 25:29Speaker 2: in Scotland. They've been traveling to the U.S. on and
- 25:32Speaker 2: off for years and years and years. Love it here
- 25:34Speaker 2: to get away for your vacation. And they've listened to
- 25:36Speaker 2: this radio station for a long time, and they still
- 25:39Speaker 2: listen faithfully every day via the app back in– Scotland,
- 25:43Speaker 2: we love connecting with you all when you're here. How
- 25:45Speaker 2: long are you here for when you guys get a
- 25:46Speaker 2: head back?
- 25:47Speaker 5: We're here till Monday. We fly home Monday night.
- 25:49Speaker 1: So that'll be our two weeks.
- 25:51Speaker 2: So you'll get to meet a bunch of JR listeners
- 25:53Speaker 2: tomorrow evening on.
- 25:54Speaker 1: The Rockford River. I see it's sold out now.
- 25:56Speaker 2: It's been sold out for a little while, yeah.
- 25:58Speaker 1: Where are you guys staying? Near iDrive?
- 26:00Speaker 5: Yeah, so we're in iDrive just now. But when the
- 26:04Speaker 5: boat got announced, we booked overnight in a hotel near Sanford. Oh, okay.
- 26:08Speaker 1: So we're going to do an overnight.
- 26:10Speaker 5: So we're going to drive through. overnight and then buy.
- 26:12Speaker 2: Yeah, that way you can have some drinks and not
- 26:14Speaker 2: have to worry about it.
- 26:15Speaker 1: Oh, that's what I wanted to ask. Yeah, you guys,
- 26:18Speaker 1: do you have Uber over there? Yeah.
- 26:20Speaker 2: I didn't know. He's not a Europe dude. I'm not
- 26:23Speaker 2: a Europe dude. Bob, they also have electricity.
- 26:28Speaker 5: Well.
- 26:29Speaker 1: Since we've.
- 26:30Speaker 5: Been here, so usually in our two-week trip, we're always Uber, Lyft, Uber, Lyft, Uber, Lyft.
- 26:35Speaker 5: We've been using Waymo over here.
- 26:37Speaker 2: Oh, have you?
- 26:37Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 26:38Speaker 2: The driverless car. They're all over the place out in
- 26:40Speaker 2: that part of town.
- 26:41Speaker 4: So bizarre.
- 26:42Speaker 2: Everyone stops, takes.
- 26:45Speaker 1: Pictures, videos. I mean, it's awesome.
- 26:47Speaker 5: So this is how cool it was, right? So it
- 26:49Speaker 5: let me link my YouTube premium account. So when I
- 26:52Speaker 5: jump in the car, my YouTube playlist comes up. but
- 26:55Speaker 5: it also lets you link the iHeartRadio up to it.
- 26:58Speaker 5: So when we jump in, it plays WGRR.
- 27:00Speaker 1: When you get in.
- 27:01Speaker 5: That's cool.
- 27:01Speaker 1: We've done that last night.
- 27:02Speaker 5: You can pick the air con temperature. You can push
- 27:06Speaker 5: the driver's seat forward more or back.
- 27:08Speaker 1: And you don't have to talk to the driver.
- 27:10Speaker 2: Was it weird the first time you got in, there
- 27:13Speaker 2: was no driver?
- 27:13Speaker 1: Absolutely. It's so, so surreal.
- 27:15Speaker 4: But it's the reaction from people on the sidewalk.
- 27:18Speaker 5: People outside on the sidewalk.
- 27:19Speaker 1: Yeah. Everybody's filming you.
- 27:21Speaker 4: Like that. What was that couple like last night.
- 27:23Speaker 5: In the hotel? We got into one. So we did
- 27:26Speaker 5: a kind of hack. We went to Halloween Horror Nights
- 27:28Speaker 5: last night. But instead of going on to the main
- 27:30Speaker 5: area where the parking lot is for rideshare, we were
- 27:33Speaker 5: building a hard walk.
- 27:35Speaker 2: The valet area? The drop. She's right there.
- 27:36Speaker 1: And then just walk to 10 minutes.
- 27:38Speaker 2: That's great.
- 27:39Speaker 1: So it's awesome.
- 27:40Speaker 5: But when we were getting into it, it always has
- 27:42Speaker 5: to pull over to find a safe spot to park
- 27:45Speaker 5: before you guys can get in. And it looks as
- 27:47Speaker 5: if it's going to crash because it pulled right tight
- 27:49Speaker 5: into the side. And everybody's like, hey, man, I've seen
- 27:52Speaker 5: a lot of AI stuff.
- 27:53Speaker 1: I wouldn't be getting any of this.
- 27:54Speaker 4: It's like that last night. Watch Terminator.
- 27:56Speaker 1: I watched Terminator. Don't get me wrong. A lot of
- 27:59Speaker 1: people are scared of them.
- 28:00Speaker 5: You know, I think it's been really– I'll give you this.
- 28:04Speaker 5: It's cheaper than Uber and Lyft.
- 28:06Speaker 2: Well, they're also rolling out the– what you would call it–
- 28:12Speaker 2: Elon Musk's driverless cars. The Tesla ones? The Tesla driverless cars.
- 28:16Speaker 2: It's going to initially just be like general airports, they're
- 28:23Speaker 2: rolling that out. So that's going to be, and they
- 28:25Speaker 2: do say that that one's also going to be priced
- 28:27Speaker 2: more reasonable than the other ride shares.
- 28:30Speaker 3: I don't know if that's the one that I'm going
- 28:32Speaker 3: to bring up, but there's something that they're going to
- 28:34Speaker 3: market in this area.
- 28:36Speaker 1: It's coming soon.
- 28:36Speaker 2: It's the Tesla one.
- 28:38Speaker 1: Are you sure the one that, Walt?
- 28:40Speaker 3: Well, when Johnny, who we work with, when he was
- 28:43Speaker 3: talking about it, he said, you can buy the thing
- 28:46Speaker 3: for like $ 38, 000, right? American, $ 38, 000, which is not that
- 28:52Speaker 3: expensive for a car nowadays.
- 28:53Speaker 1: And Pat, he can have that thing drive him to work.
- 28:57Speaker 3: And then while he's at work, it'll go and pick
- 28:59Speaker 3: people up and make him money.
- 29:01Speaker 1: I'm dead serious.
- 29:02Speaker 2: I don't know if that's a Tesla thing or not.
- 29:03Speaker 1: I don't think it is.
- 29:05Speaker 3: That's why when you said that's a Tesla thing, I'm like, no,
- 29:07Speaker 3: this thing ain't even here. I know that's not here either,
- 29:10Speaker 3: but he was talking about it yesterday in a meeting,
- 29:12Speaker 3: and I was like.
- 29:13Speaker 1: He goes, well, I won't.
- 29:14Speaker 3: Be driving people around making money. I don't want people
- 29:16Speaker 3: in my car. And I'm like, I'm going to be
- 29:18Speaker 3: getting your keys off your desk. I'm going to have
- 29:21Speaker 3: Bob's taxis.
- 29:22Speaker 2: All right.
- 29:23Speaker 1: I love it.
- 29:23Speaker 3: All right.
- 29:24Speaker 2: Well, we're running out of time here. I wanted to
- 29:27Speaker 2: say thank you again for coming in, guys. It was
- 29:29Speaker 2: good to see you.
- 29:30Speaker 1: And the shirts.
- 29:31Speaker 2: Phenomenal.
- 29:33Speaker 1: Look, in case you missed this before, this was the
- 29:37Speaker 1: AI picture they had to promote. our art. Rock the river.
- 29:43Speaker 2: And mine, he crisscrossed my desire to be a drawbridge
- 29:47Speaker 2: operator with a tollbooth operator. Tollbooth operator is a dying
- 29:51Speaker 2: gig here now.
- 29:52Speaker 1: I know that. Everything's automated now, you know? That's the thing.
- 29:54Speaker 2: But drawbridge, you're always going to have to have someone there.
- 29:57Speaker 5: You need to show me a drawbridge. I've never seen
- 29:58Speaker 5: a drawbridge where we've been here.
- 30:00Speaker 1: Oh, really?
- 30:01Speaker 2: You've got to get over to the intercoastal.
- 30:02Speaker 1: There's plenty of them.
- 30:03Speaker 2: Yeah, go ahead.
- 30:04Speaker 1: Plenty of them.
- 30:04Speaker 3: But now they're making most of those bridges, Pat.
- 30:07Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 30:08Speaker 3: At least here, like Smyrna, whatever, most of them, they
- 30:11Speaker 3: don't even have the bridge anymore, which kind of sucks.
- 30:13Speaker 1: The North Bridge does, so there's one for you.
- 30:16Speaker 2: One other thing before we go. I wanted to say
- 30:18Speaker 2: thank you again for the other year when our German Shepherd, Juno,
- 30:22Speaker 2: passed away.
- 30:22Speaker 1: Oh, you're welcome, man.
- 30:23Speaker 2: That was cool. These two, I guess, heard us talking
- 30:28Speaker 2: about it, and it was still, I'm like tearing up
- 30:30Speaker 2: right now. I loved, loved, loved that dog, as did
- 30:33Speaker 2: my wife. And it was sudden cancer, and it was
- 30:35Speaker 2: just so quick. We'll never get over it. These two
- 30:41Speaker 2: created a keepsake that we have hanging in our family
- 30:43Speaker 2: room right now.
- 30:44Speaker 5: Awesome, man.
- 30:45Speaker 2: Me, my wife, daughter, and Juno around the fire pit.
- 30:49Speaker 2: On one of the very cold days that we had.
- 30:51Speaker 1: Look at the goosebumps I'm getting now.
- 30:54Speaker 2: And when I arrived, I was completely blown away. And guys,
- 30:58Speaker 2: that's one of the nicest things that I've ever had
- 31:01Speaker 2: anyone do.
- 31:02Speaker 5: Well, do you know, it's actually very close to our heart.
- 31:05Speaker 5: We had a cat for 16 years.
- 31:07Speaker 1: We got it when we got married.
- 31:09Speaker 5: And he passed away this year. And so see when
- 31:13Speaker 5: he passed, you know, Unless you're a pet owner.
- 31:16Speaker 2: You don't know that. You don't get it.
- 31:18Speaker 1: It's your kid.
- 31:19Speaker 5: I totally. And then when that happened, I'm like, Jesus.
- 31:22Speaker 5: And so it put me right back to that.
- 31:24Speaker 1: So definitely. It is that. Yeah.
- 31:26Speaker 2: In your stomach. Just you can't get it out.
- 31:28Speaker 1: I feel your pain, man.
- 31:29Speaker 5: It's not an experience.
- 31:30Speaker 4: We now have a new adoptee's cat.
- 31:33Speaker 5: We got a new kitten.
- 31:34Speaker 1: Okay. On that subject. You know how like.
- 31:36Speaker 2: He's going to offer you his cat. Stop.
- 31:38Speaker 4: Stop. Stop.
- 31:40Speaker 3: You know how, like, you have to fill out the
- 31:42Speaker 3: things that you brought back?
- 31:43Speaker 1: Sorry, just spit talk. Things that you brought back with
- 31:46Speaker 1: you from the States.
- 31:47Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 31:47Speaker 1: Whatever that mandifest, whatever that shit is. I ain't getting
- 31:49Speaker 1: your account, man. You don't? It's a nice cat. It's
- 31:53Speaker 1: name's Rosebud. She's got about, let me sell that car.
- 31:58Speaker 1: She has all four legs.
- 31:59Speaker 2: She's north of 10 years of age, right?
- 32:01Speaker 5: I know.
- 32:02Speaker 1: We're going to say she's about eight.
- 32:04Speaker 2: Oh, okay, yeah.
- 32:05Speaker 5: Soon AC's trying to get rid of it.
- 32:07Speaker 1: Now, my daughter would kill me.
- 32:09Speaker 2: It's only got 200,000 miles on it.
- 32:11Speaker 1: But, you know, it's like a Honda. It'll run forever. Now,
- 32:14Speaker 1: my daughter would kill me. Also, XL Shirts. You guys
- 32:18Speaker 1: have big XL shirts, dude.
- 32:20Speaker 5: Because I wear XL. It's about a guessing game, yeah.
- 32:23Speaker 1: No, that's awesome.
- 32:24Speaker 2: He got me a 2X, which actually looks like it'll
- 32:27Speaker 2: fit my fat ass.
- 32:28Speaker 1: I think so.
- 32:29Speaker 3: So that's why I'll wash it. And if this logo
- 32:32Speaker 3: comes off, I'm blaming both of you.
- 32:34Speaker 2: All right, we're going to wear these on the river
- 32:36Speaker 2: cruise tomorrow night.
- 32:37Speaker 1: 100%.
- 32:37Speaker 2: We'll see you guys there.
- 32:39Speaker 4: We'll see you there.
- 32:39Speaker 2: And anybody else who's joining us, we're really looking forward
- 32:42Speaker 2: to that. It'll be a fun couple hours just hanging out.
- 32:44Speaker 4: It's going to be an amazing night.
- 32:45Speaker 5: Thank you very much for having us, guys.
- 32:46Speaker 1: Appreciate it. Thank you so much. Thank you guys for
- 32:47Speaker 1: the gifts, as always.
