- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey guys, welcome to another episode of Eating While Broke.
- 0:03Speaker 1: I'm your host, Colleen Witt, and today we have entrepreneur,
- 0:06Speaker 1: special guest, entrepreneur, stylist, Fiscani's in the building.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Thank you. Thank you. No, thank you.
- 0:13Speaker 1: Thank you so much for taking time out of your
- 0:15Speaker 1: schedule to come over here and be with us.
- 0:17Speaker 2: Yes.
- 0:18Speaker 1: Now, I know you told us your dish. We over
- 0:21Speaker 1: here kind of dropped the ball. You wanted to do.
- 0:24Speaker 2: Turkey burgers or noodles.
- 0:26Speaker 1: Turkey burgers or noodles. Yes.
- 0:27Speaker 2: Yes.
- 0:28Speaker 1: Yes, and we were all questioning, like, have you ever
- 0:30Speaker 1: been broke?
- 0:31Speaker 2: I know. What energy did I give? Because they were like,
- 0:33Speaker 2: what's your dish? As soon as I walked in, I
- 0:35Speaker 2: was like, what's your dish?
- 0:36Speaker 1: You look fabulous.
- 0:36Speaker 2: I was like, I don't know if I'm cooking. I
- 0:38Speaker 2: don't know if they bought it. And you walked up like,
- 0:40Speaker 2: have you ever been broke? I'm like, well, yeah.
- 0:44Speaker 1: Just so you know, you don't have to be broke
- 0:45Speaker 1: on this show, but I think you came in in
- 0:48Speaker 1: true stylist fashion. So you look like a million bucks.
- 0:52Speaker 1: And it's just like, even though your poise was like,
- 0:56Speaker 1: didn't you feel that? Like, it was like very.
- 0:58Speaker 2: I want to know. I need to know this about myself.
- 1:02Speaker 1: It's elegant. That's the word.
- 1:05Speaker 2: Thank you. Elegant. No one has.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Even figured out that word. Elegant would be the perfect word.
- 1:12Speaker 2: Which is great.
- 1:13Speaker 1: Because now you can take me back to when you
- 1:15Speaker 1: was broke. Were you elegant then?
- 1:18Speaker 2: Yes, broke and elegant.
- 1:43Speaker 1: I like that.
- 1:44Speaker 2: I think I always, I've definitely been broke. So let's
- 1:47Speaker 2: just put that on the table now. I had nothing.
- 1:51Speaker 2: And I ate a lot of dreams. Literally. And I'm African,
- 1:58Speaker 2: originally from Zambia. And I grew up away. I'm not
- 2:03Speaker 2: going to say we were broke or anything like that.
- 2:05Speaker 2: I think we're pretty privileged. But when I came here,
- 2:09Speaker 2: I came here for school. So grade school, high school, college.
- 2:14Speaker 2: And just growing up, it was pretty much I had
- 2:18Speaker 2: to pick a couple things I could be. You want
- 2:19Speaker 2: to be an accountant, doctor, lawyer? What do you want
- 2:21Speaker 2: to be? And I picked to be a finance major
- 2:24Speaker 2: in college. And that was great, but it just wasn't.
- 2:28Speaker 2: I didn't just really have interest, you know? And so
- 2:31Speaker 2: I kind of dropped out. And that cut.
- 2:35Speaker 1: How did your parents take that?
- 2:37Speaker 2: Well, I just got cut off. Oh, you got cut off. Yes.
- 2:40Speaker 1: Immediately.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Yeah. Like, if you want to not go to school, like,
- 2:43Speaker 2: then what are we supporting? So you need to support yourself.
- 2:46Speaker 2: And that was like, like, that was just immediately you
- 2:50Speaker 2: out here. You are figuring, you have to figure this
- 2:52Speaker 2: thing out. Or you could go back to school.
- 2:54Speaker 1: And where were you living at the time?
- 2:55Speaker 2: At the time, I... I remember coming to Atlanta and
- 2:58Speaker 2: I came for a Thanksgiving break, and I just never
- 3:01Speaker 2: went back. And so it was like, wait, are you
- 3:03Speaker 2: going back to school? My sister lived here. She'd already
- 3:06Speaker 2: graduated though. And I was like, I'm not going back.
- 3:09Speaker 2: And my parents got wind of it by the time
- 3:11Speaker 2: the new semester started back in January. And it was like,
- 3:15Speaker 2: you're not going to school? No. I think I found
- 3:18Speaker 2: my place. this is it. I think I could do
- 3:20Speaker 2: something here. And it was like, you're crazy. You're stupid.
- 3:24Speaker 1: And did you tell them what exactly you wanted to do?
- 3:26Speaker 2: No, because I didn't know. But I knew it was here.
- 3:29Speaker 1: It was in Atlanta.
- 3:29Speaker 2: I just knew it was here. And telling them would
- 3:32Speaker 2: sound stupid because I remember being like this nine-year-old kid
- 3:36Speaker 2: in Africa, intrigued watching music videos because that was the thing.
- 3:42Speaker 2: And I would just Rewind, rewind, it was like VCR,
- 3:47Speaker 2: you know? And I would just watch concerts, and I
- 3:50Speaker 2: would be like, I'm gonna do this one day. And
- 3:52Speaker 2: my sister laughed at me when she overheard me just
- 3:55Speaker 2: thinking aloud, like, do what? You can't even sing, you can't, like.
- 3:57Speaker 2: And I was like, I don't know, I just, this world.
- 4:01Speaker 2: I see myself there. But I'm like 10 years old,
- 4:03Speaker 2: but then, yeah, 10 years later, I really was doing it.
- 4:07Speaker 1: So when you decide to take that jump to staying
- 4:11Speaker 1: in Atlanta and dropping out of school, what do you
- 4:13Speaker 1: do professionally to support yourself?
- 4:16Speaker 2: Yes, that was the interesting part. So I loved fashion.
- 4:20Speaker 2: I didn't know a career existed called being a stylist.
- 4:26Speaker 2: I never knew about that. The school I went to
- 4:28Speaker 2: didn't offer that. And I found myself on a set
- 4:31Speaker 2: of a video one day, and I see all these
- 4:34Speaker 2: girls running from the back of a set. I'm like,
- 4:37Speaker 2: who are they? They're like, oh, they're the video girls.
- 4:40Speaker 2: Where are they coming from? They're like, oh, that's with
- 4:41Speaker 2: the stylists. What's the stylists? Oh, she's the one dressed
- 4:45Speaker 2: in them on the set. And today I'm like, oh,
- 4:47Speaker 2: take me back there. And so I literally, and video
- 4:50Speaker 2: sets are like usually hours and hours and hours. And
- 4:54Speaker 2: I came just to drive by because someone was like, oh,
- 4:55Speaker 2: you want to come by? It was like a kicker thing.
- 4:57Speaker 2: And I stayed for like hours. Like I did an
- 5:00Speaker 2: eight hour shift there. Just like studying them. Like, oh,
- 5:03Speaker 2: now they changed clothes. Oh, they changed the set. Now
- 5:06Speaker 2: they have to look like this in front of the cooking. Oh, wow. Like,
- 5:10Speaker 2: and I was so intrigued. Like, I want to do that.
- 5:13Speaker 2: I have to meet the stylist. And I remember trying
- 5:16Speaker 2: to like, excuse me, excuse me. And I was like,
- 5:19Speaker 2: I don't even know what to say. And from then on,
- 5:22Speaker 2: I knew like, I want to do that. But I
- 5:24Speaker 2: didn't know how to start, but I wanted to do that.
- 5:26Speaker 2: So what did you do to get your start? Well,
- 5:29Speaker 2: I had a job. I did have one job. I've
- 5:31Speaker 2: had one job in my life. And I wasn't great
- 5:34Speaker 2: at it. I wasn't great at being an employee. What
- 5:37Speaker 2: was the job? I know that. It was like telemarketing,
- 5:39Speaker 2: customer service, office job, answer the phone, little booth, phone. Yeah.
- 5:46Speaker 2: I got suspended because of my dress code. Okay. Yeah,
- 5:52Speaker 2: because I brought clothes that made sense to my lifestyle,
- 5:55Speaker 2: which I'm 19. I'm 20, I think, at the time,
- 5:58Speaker 2: and I go out a lot. I had perfect attendance. Outside? Yeah,
- 6:03Speaker 2: a little bit. Because that was my runway, and this
- 6:06Speaker 2: is where I would test out these clothes. And so
- 6:09Speaker 2: I bought clothes that made sense for my lifestyle. But
- 6:14Speaker 2: at this job, obviously I would come dressed away, throw
- 6:17Speaker 2: a little blaze on. They'd be like, you can't wear that.
- 6:20Speaker 2: And I was like, what's wrong with it? It's long enough.
- 6:24Speaker 2: And I was like, you can't put that on. These
- 6:26Speaker 2: are the rules. And he was like, okay. And sometimes
- 6:30Speaker 2: I was like, you need to go home. Yeah, you
- 6:32Speaker 2: have to go home.
- 6:33Speaker 1: How did you advance in styling though?
- 6:36Speaker 2: So styling, long story short, I always loved it. I
- 6:42Speaker 2: didn't know how to get back to that room since
- 6:44Speaker 2: I saw it. But I just knew I had to
- 6:48Speaker 2: get there some way. So while at this job, one
- 6:52Speaker 2: time I met a guy that was like, you should
- 6:53Speaker 2: go to the magic show with me. I was like,
- 6:55Speaker 2: what's the magic show? It's like that's where all the
- 6:57Speaker 2: designers are. This is where all the buyers buy stuff.
- 7:00Speaker 2: At this point I was even exploring maybe I should
- 7:03Speaker 2: open a store, like a boutique. But I had no
- 7:06Speaker 2: I had no money. And my lifestyle was very expensive
- 7:09Speaker 2: for the no money I made. I wanted to do things.
- 7:12Speaker 2: I wanted to buy things. And I spent it all
- 7:14Speaker 2: on clothes. I was addicted to clothing. And so I'm like, okay,
- 7:19Speaker 2: I could find a ticket to get to Vegas. The
- 7:21Speaker 2: magic show was in Vegas then. It still is, actually.
- 7:24Speaker 2: And so I get to Vegas for like $ 50. Oh, wow. Yeah.
- 7:32Speaker 1: Okay.
- 7:33Speaker 2: I ate a lot of.
- 7:34Speaker 1: Dreams.
- 7:35Speaker 2: Dreams.
- 7:37Speaker 1: I think the name of your episode should be, I
- 7:39Speaker 1: ate a lot of dreams. I ate a lot of dreams.
- 7:41Speaker 2: I really did. I ate a lot of dreams. My
- 7:44Speaker 2: stove looked like this. Every apartment I had, it was
- 7:47Speaker 2: used like, do you ever use this? It was like,
- 7:48Speaker 2: I'm on a mission. I got to do, like literally,
- 7:52Speaker 2: food wasn't a part of my day. I'm 20. I'm
- 7:55Speaker 2: not stopping. Breakfast, big meal, lunch, big meal. No, I
- 8:00Speaker 2: eat when I can. The food found its way to me.
- 8:03Speaker 2: I ate whatever. I wasn't above anything. Oh, you want
- 8:06Speaker 2: to drive through? That's fine. It wasn't part of my,
- 8:08Speaker 2: I need money for food. I had bigger dreams. I
- 8:12Speaker 2: need a million dollars. And I got like $ 50. So
- 8:15Speaker 2: it's food. I'm going to eat. Somehow I'll eat. I'll
- 8:18Speaker 2: come to your house. You want to eat? Sure. Yeah,
- 8:20Speaker 2: that's fine. I'm focused. Food wasn't a thing. I had cereal.
- 8:23Speaker 2: I had noodles. I'd open my fridge. Oh, it's water. Great.
- 8:27Speaker 2: Drink this. What's going on? You're in the pursuit.
- 8:29Speaker 1: The pursuit.
- 8:31Speaker 2: And I wanted to catch. It was almost like I
- 8:32Speaker 2: wanted to catch the big fish and then you feast.
- 8:34Speaker 2: When you win, you eat. After a big win.
- 8:37Speaker 1: Is that when Akon comes along? Or, okay. I don't
- 8:42Speaker 1: want to skip it.
- 8:42Speaker 2: No, no, no. It's fine. We go to Magic. I
- 8:44Speaker 2: meet a guy. I meet a guy in this booth
- 8:47Speaker 2: at the Magic. They have booths. And he sold furs.
- 8:49Speaker 2: And I was like, oh, my God. I've never owned
- 8:51Speaker 2: a fur. And I remember playing my aunt's fur as
- 8:53Speaker 2: a kid. And I was like. So he catches me
- 8:57Speaker 2: in the booth. I was just touching him like, wow.
- 9:00Speaker 2: And he's like, you can try it on. And I
- 9:02Speaker 2: turn around and I'm like, oh sorry. He's like, no, no, no,
- 9:05Speaker 2: you can try it on. Because I'd seen the tag.
- 9:07Speaker 2: It was like $ 12, 000. I have like $ 50. And so
- 9:10Speaker 2: he's like, you can. But yeah, I had dreams. So
- 9:13Speaker 2: I'm like, okay. I try it on. He's like, look
- 9:17Speaker 2: at the mirror. They had a little mirror in the booth.
- 9:19Speaker 2: I was like, wow. He was like, try them all on.
- 9:23Speaker 2: And I keep trying them on because he's like, it
- 9:25Speaker 2: doesn't matter, you can try them on. And so at
- 9:28Speaker 2: the end of that interaction, he's like, you should model
- 9:31Speaker 2: for me. I was like, model? I'm trying to make
- 9:35Speaker 2: some money. I don't know about modeling. He's like, yeah,
- 9:37Speaker 2: I have a trip coming up and you should model.
- 9:40Speaker 2: So we exchanged numbers. And he actually called me when
- 9:42Speaker 2: I got back to Atlanta. He called me, hey, I'm
- 9:44Speaker 2: the guy, Mitch. I got a Midwest tour selling furs.
- 9:47Speaker 2: You should come with me and model because you wear
- 9:50Speaker 2: all the coats very well. Yeah. And I was like, sure,
- 9:52Speaker 2: I just quit my job. Kind of got fired, quit,
- 9:55Speaker 2: same thing. I was like, yeah, let's go. We hit
- 10:01Speaker 2: the Midwest and I was modeling furs for like a week.
- 10:03Speaker 1: Were you making money?
- 10:05Speaker 2: No, it was no money. It was like $ 100 or
- 10:07Speaker 2: $ 50 a day or something like that. You get paid
- 10:10Speaker 2: at the end of the week. It wasn't great money,
- 10:13Speaker 2: but it was getting closer to this thing. Yeah. About
- 10:19Speaker 2: a week into the trip, I was like, I want
- 10:20Speaker 2: to do sales. And he was like, whoa, you're very courageous.
- 10:25Speaker 2: I was like, yeah, I've seen you do it.
- 10:27Speaker 1: And I can do it better.
- 10:28Speaker 2: And I think I.
- 10:28Speaker 1: Could do it.
- 10:29Speaker 2: I was like, well, I could do it. Because I
- 10:31Speaker 2: learned all the skins. You have to know the skins.
- 10:33Speaker 2: I was like, I could do it. I could do it.
- 10:35Speaker 2: And he was like, you're quite the little ambitious person.
- 10:38Speaker 2: I was like, yeah. So by the end of that tour,
- 10:41Speaker 2: he gave me a quarter million dollars worth of furs
- 10:44Speaker 2: and said, go to Atlanta and let's see if you
- 10:47Speaker 2: can sell. And I had about $ 400 or $ 500 saved
- 10:51Speaker 2: up from my little $ 50 a day. And a quarter
- 10:56Speaker 2: million dollars in two trunks or three trunks of furs.
- 11:00Speaker 2: And I came to Atlanta. I didn't have a place
- 11:02Speaker 2: to stay. I was staying with my brother at this time.
- 11:06Speaker 1: I feel like this should be background music. What did
- 11:08Speaker 1: you do with the furs?
- 11:09Speaker 2: Did you lose them? No, I didn't lose them. I
- 11:12Speaker 2: then started looking for sales and people to sell them to.
- 11:16Speaker 2: And who wants a fur? And then I realized it's
- 11:19Speaker 2: hot here.
- 11:22Speaker 1: And these are cheap furs.
- 11:24Speaker 2: Yeah, we went in the Midwest. It looked a little
- 11:26Speaker 2: different there. And so I was like, I need celebs.
- 11:32Speaker 2: Music videos. And one night out, remember I had perfect attendance.
- 11:37Speaker 2: One night out, I ran into a guy that was like, yeah,
- 11:40Speaker 2: this guy. Oh, I was testing the product. So I
- 11:43Speaker 2: had the fur on.
- 11:44Speaker 1: Of course.
- 11:44Speaker 2: Yeah. Put me and my girls in the furs. Like,
- 11:46Speaker 2: let's go out to promote, you know? And this guy,
- 11:49Speaker 2: he was trying to talk to my friend actually. And
- 11:51Speaker 2: he was like, I see y'all with y'all furs. And
- 11:53Speaker 2: I'm like, yeah, I sell them. And he's like, oh,
- 11:55Speaker 2: my client just bought like five furs yesterday. Who? He
- 11:58Speaker 2: was like, he'd sweat. I was like, oh, tell him
- 12:00Speaker 2: I sell them. Oh, I call him right now. You
- 12:02Speaker 2: got men's furs? I was like, yeah. So he calls
- 12:05Speaker 2: him and he's like, yeah. He said, bring them by
- 12:06Speaker 2: his house tomorrow. I was like, are you serious? He's like, yeah.
- 12:11Speaker 2: I didn't sleep that night. Literally, I was like, what
- 12:13Speaker 2: if he really calls? I need in. And we called
- 12:17Speaker 2: him the next day. And he was like, yeah, yeah,
- 12:19Speaker 2: he says come by at 3 o'clock. Give me the address.
- 12:23Speaker 2: And that's where it all starts.
- 12:26Speaker 1: How many furs did you sell that night? Do you remember?
- 12:28Speaker 2: I remember just the dreams I was eating for like
- 12:35Speaker 2: two or three years just came alive with one interaction
- 12:39Speaker 2: with one person. Like I literally went to Keith's house
- 12:42Speaker 2: and he bought whatever he liked that I had. Let's say,
- 12:45Speaker 2: for argument's sake, he bought like $ 10, 000, right? Which was like, wow, right?
- 12:51Speaker 2: And then he was like, I'm going to call some
- 12:54Speaker 2: people for you.
- 12:56Speaker 1: That's what I was hoping I would hear.
- 12:57Speaker 2: Yeah. And he's like, I'm going to make some calls
- 12:59Speaker 2: for you. And he picked up his phone and called everyone.
- 13:04Speaker 2: He was like, hey. Everyone he could think of, he called.
- 13:07Speaker 2: I mean, every name you could think of in Atlanta
- 13:10Speaker 2: at the time. Hey, I got this girl over here. Hey, man,
- 13:12Speaker 2: she's beautiful. dope. She pull up right on you. She
- 13:15Speaker 2: got the furs. She's a hustler. She is. Okay, next.
- 13:18Speaker 2: Hold on. He passed the phone over. I'm like, hello? Yeah,
- 13:22Speaker 2: I got it. And I was like, piggyback off whatever
- 13:24Speaker 2: he said. And I remember one of them, they were like,
- 13:27Speaker 2: oh yeah, I pull up here or there. I'll give
- 13:28Speaker 2: her my number. And I'm like getting all these numbers
- 13:30Speaker 2: of people that I wouldn't, had never got. And one
- 13:34Speaker 2: of the calls was Akon. And he gives me the phone.
- 13:37Speaker 2: I'm like, are you African? He's like, yeah. I was like,
- 13:40Speaker 2: I think I'm your brother. Yeah. But I wasn't sure
- 13:42Speaker 2: if they were related. But he was like, yeah. He
- 13:44Speaker 2: was like, I'm actually at the studio right now. You
- 13:46Speaker 2: could bring him here now. I was like, yeah. I'm
- 13:49Speaker 2: done here. Coming to you. And next thing I know,
- 13:53Speaker 2: I'm in the studio. And he's like, I don't know
- 13:56Speaker 2: if I... I don't wear fur. I've never wore... I
- 13:58Speaker 2: was like, come on. It's cool. And I was like,
- 14:00Speaker 2: who's your stylist? He's like, I don't have one. I
- 14:04Speaker 2: was like, what? He was like, yeah, okay. He was like,
- 14:11Speaker 2: I'm your stylist. And he was like, okay, I don't
- 14:13Speaker 2: have one. We just put a record out. And I
- 14:15Speaker 2: was like, I'm your stylist. He was like, okay, let
- 14:17Speaker 2: me call my manager. Hey, I found a girl. She's
- 14:19Speaker 2: our stylist. You guys connect. Because next week we have
- 14:22Speaker 2: the Source Awards. And I need like jail jumpsuits. It's
- 14:26Speaker 2: me and Styles P or something. And we, you know,
- 14:28Speaker 2: we performing locked up. And I was like, it's in Miami.
- 14:32Speaker 2: I was like, yeah, I'll do that. I had no idea.
- 14:35Speaker 1: How'd you come up with your rates?
- 14:37Speaker 2: I didn't know. I knew nothing. So what did you do?
- 14:41Speaker 2: I would, when you asked me a question, like ask
- 14:44Speaker 2: me how much I charge.
- 14:44Speaker 1: How much do you charge?
- 14:45Speaker 2: What's the budget? Ay!
- 14:51Speaker 1: You always never be the first to throw out the
- 14:53Speaker 1: number too, right? But I knew it.
- 14:54Speaker 2: I just had business, you know, I just had business acumen.
- 14:57Speaker 2: I was like, so... you know, what's the budget? How
- 15:02Speaker 2: much do you guys have for this? You know? And
- 15:04Speaker 2: they'll be like, okay, this is all we have. It's
- 15:06Speaker 2: $ 10, 000 and that's it. I'm like, oh. I'm like, okay. Okay.
- 15:12Speaker 2: That's fine. $ 10, 000 is fine. You know?
- 15:15Speaker 1: I could work with that. I'll try to make it work.
- 15:17Speaker 2: I don't know. That's fine. And we just took it
- 15:20Speaker 2: from there. And it was such, I mean, I went
- 15:22Speaker 2: from zero clients to about 80 clients in a year
- 15:26Speaker 2: because Akon was, it was such a pivotal point because Akon,
- 15:30Speaker 2: was doing a lot of collabs at the time and
- 15:32Speaker 2: he was just blowing up worldwide. And he insisted he
- 15:36Speaker 2: used his stylist. Wow. So all of a sudden I'm
- 15:41Speaker 2: on sets with Gwen Stefani, Eminem, everything you can think
- 15:44Speaker 2: of Akon. I touched.
- 15:47Speaker 1: Now did he at some point say, you know what,
- 15:49Speaker 1: you have to be exclusive to me?
- 15:52Speaker 2: No, not necessarily. He was fair in that regards. He
- 15:54Speaker 2: was fair. The numbers just kept getting better and better.
- 15:59Speaker 2: I mean, I'm a quick learner, so I learned the
- 16:00Speaker 2: lingo really quickly. And, you know, one video, 100 videos,
- 16:05Speaker 2: same video. And so, yeah, it was dope. I was
- 16:09Speaker 2: out of here.
- 16:09Speaker 1: Wow.
- 16:10Speaker 2: I never looked back.
- 16:12Speaker 1: So at what point do you say, okay, well, because
- 16:15Speaker 1: you didn't just style Akon, you styled TLC.
- 16:18Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I picked up everyone along the way. I
- 16:21Speaker 2: have styled the world.
- 16:23Speaker 1: Yes.
- 16:24Speaker 2: And now, you know, I mean, and that was the,
- 16:27Speaker 2: I started off styling celebrities and then I created the
- 16:30Speaker 2: Ivy Showroom, which is this magical place.
- 16:35Speaker 1: It's over 10,000 square feet, right? Actually 12,000. 12,000 square feet.
- 16:39Speaker 1: That's massive.
- 16:40Speaker 2: Yeah. So we, I created that in my height of styling.
- 16:45Speaker 2: I was like, you know, This has been amazing. And actually,
- 16:49Speaker 2: it was my father who said something. Because remember, I
- 16:52Speaker 2: dropped out. And he was always like, I don't know.
- 16:54Speaker 2: And he's like, this is like a hobby. This thing
- 16:56Speaker 2: you do is a hobby, right?
- 16:58Speaker 1: Even with all your accolades he was saying?
- 17:00Speaker 2: Yeah, he was still like, this is a hobby. Because
- 17:04Speaker 2: he was like, if you fall off a truck, then
- 17:07Speaker 2: what happens? There's no career. There's no money. You need
- 17:10Speaker 2: to be with these people every time. They call for you.
- 17:14Speaker 2: You can't send colleagues. And so he was like, that's
- 17:18Speaker 2: a hobby. He's a businessman. And I was like, no,
- 17:21Speaker 2: it's not. It's just, who's going to fall off a truck?
- 17:23Speaker 2: You know, so, and he always said, it's always stuck
- 17:26Speaker 2: to me. And one time it actually like resonated. And
- 17:29Speaker 2: I was like, I need to, I need to just
- 17:33Speaker 2: branch out. And I thought of a showroom because I'd
- 17:36Speaker 2: been to a showroom that treated me really badly in
- 17:39Speaker 2: New York. And I didn't like how they made me feel.
- 17:42Speaker 2: And I was like, I'm going to open one of
- 17:44Speaker 2: these one day.
- 17:46Speaker 1: You remember the movie Pretty Woman? Was it one of
- 17:47Speaker 1: those scenes where they treated you kind of like.
- 17:50Speaker 2: Yeah, it was really... Like I walked in and I
- 17:53Speaker 2: was like, oh my God, that on the mannequin, that's
- 17:55Speaker 2: what I need. And they were like, no, that's on
- 17:57Speaker 2: hold for Cyrus and it's for Vogue. I was like, oh, okay.
- 18:02Speaker 2: Over in the back, there's a sale stuff over there
- 18:04Speaker 2: and that's the stuff you could... I was like, oh, okay.
- 18:08Speaker 2: So I was in the back going through the racks
- 18:10Speaker 2: and Another stylist walked in, did the same thing. Oh
- 18:13Speaker 2: my God, when did you get that? I need this.
- 18:15Speaker 2: Take it off the mannequin. You can take it. And
- 18:18Speaker 2: I was in her back like, oh, you just said.
- 18:23Speaker 1: Did you say anything in that moment? Or did you
- 18:25Speaker 1: just like, what did you, how did you?
- 18:27Speaker 2: No, because it was such a, I mean, I was defeated.
- 18:31Speaker 2: You don't want me to have it. I get it.
- 18:35Speaker 2: You still weren't going to give it to me. You know,
- 18:37Speaker 2: it was one of those moments like you didn't want
- 18:39Speaker 2: me to have it. So, and she literally undressed the
- 18:44Speaker 2: mannequin and she was out of there in five minutes.
- 18:47Speaker 1: Wow.
- 18:47Speaker 2: Like she found what she needed. And I was still
- 18:50Speaker 2: like looking through the showroom and it was like, wait,
- 18:54Speaker 2: is it the person I was working with that didn't
- 18:55Speaker 2: quite fit the criteria? So I didn't like that. So
- 18:58Speaker 2: I was like, I'm always going to, I'm going to
- 18:59Speaker 2: open something that is.
- 19:02Speaker 1: Inclusive.
- 19:03Speaker 2: As long as you can afford it. You know, you
- 19:06Speaker 2: can pay for it. Okay. Yeah. Okay. As long as
- 19:11Speaker 2: you can afford it, it's for all.
- 19:14Speaker 1: Just to backtrack, you said at one point it resonated.
- 19:18Speaker 1: Was that the resonated point? And then also, if you
- 19:22Speaker 1: were the main stylist for all these people, did you
- 19:24Speaker 1: ever run into instances where you couldn't style someone because
- 19:27Speaker 1: of your schedule?
- 19:28Speaker 2: Yes, absolutely. I would be at the Grammys and I
- 19:33Speaker 2: have four clients. And some would be like, no, you.
- 19:38Speaker 2: I'm sending my assistant. No, I don't do assistants. I
- 19:41Speaker 2: book you, I get you. It was like, oh, this is,
- 19:46Speaker 2: you know. You know, you're getting paid for this day
- 19:51Speaker 2: and you prep obviously days before and you're ready. This
- 19:54Speaker 2: is what you're wearing, your pink shirt. You're wearing this.
- 19:56Speaker 2: You're fine, right? No. I need you here.
- 19:58Speaker 1: I can imagine though. I feel like if I was
- 20:04Speaker 1: a client, I would need that magical energy.
- 20:07Speaker 2: There you go. So you would be that. Exactly. Wait,
- 20:10Speaker 2: let's take the necklace off and put, yeah. Which, rightfully so,
- 20:15Speaker 2: the clients can feel that. But I was booked. I'm busy.
- 20:20Speaker 2: And I was like, wow, I need the revolving door.
- 20:24Speaker 2: You know? So I can work with everyone. And so
- 20:27Speaker 2: that was really the mind behind that. And then just
- 20:30Speaker 2: having the, leaving that showroom just really defeated. It never
- 20:34Speaker 2: felt good. It was like, I'll be back. I'll make
- 20:38Speaker 2: this thing. I'll, you know, again, I ate dreams.
- 20:42Speaker 1: I love this. I ate dreams.
- 20:44Speaker 2: No, literally. I don't.
- 20:45Speaker 1: That needs to be your mantra.
- 20:46Speaker 2: I know. I don't like even now, of course. Yeah.
- 20:50Speaker 2: I found my way to meals, but you kind of,
- 20:53Speaker 2: so they find me actually, but I just, it's almost
- 20:57Speaker 2: like you eat something. when you have a kill, right?
- 21:01Speaker 2: If you're a fisherman, you catch a big whale that's like,
- 21:05Speaker 2: take a photo, I caught this thing, now let's eat.
- 21:09Speaker 2: That's how I still have the hunger. Because it's always like,
- 21:13Speaker 2: I always push the goalpost.
- 21:14Speaker 1: I was going to say, so now that you, so
- 21:17Speaker 1: you still style celebrities, correct?
- 21:19Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 21:20Speaker 1: And now, how do you, if you're a stylist, and
- 21:26Speaker 1: this is like a I guess a genuine question is
- 21:31Speaker 1: how do you prototype yourself where a client isn't upset
- 21:35Speaker 1: if you send someone else?
- 21:37Speaker 2: Well, I only sell some celebrities and those are my
- 21:41Speaker 2: original clients. I provide wardrobe for tons of celebrities and
- 21:46Speaker 2: I am a stylist's best friend because I give your
- 21:49Speaker 2: stylist clothes.
- 21:51Speaker 1: To style you.
- 21:52Speaker 2: So I'm not really out here saying, hey, I'm looking
- 21:55Speaker 2: for new celebrities to style. Yes, if you come through
- 21:57Speaker 2: my doors is best, but not just, you know, I'm
- 22:02Speaker 2: not soliciting myself. I work with stylists. Smart.
- 22:06Speaker 1: So that's how you were able to do it.
- 22:08Speaker 2: Yeah. So that's where my sweet spot is. I love stylists.
- 22:12Speaker 2: They keep the lights on and it's just, that's the
- 22:15Speaker 2: model of the business.
- 22:16Speaker 1: Now when stylists walk into your showroom, do you, if
- 22:21Speaker 1: a stylist is say like kind of rude or something...
- 22:24Speaker 1: Or do you always hold that, what happened to you
- 22:29Speaker 1: in the back of your mind? Or do you tell
- 22:31Speaker 1: your staff or your team like, hey, you know, always
- 22:35Speaker 1: don't just shut down a stylist, hear them out? Or
- 22:37Speaker 1: how does that work? How does that incident play into?
- 22:39Speaker 2: I'm pretty fair. I'm going to listen to every scenario.
- 22:42Speaker 2: But we have rules, right? And so we have prices.
- 22:47Speaker 2: So sometimes stylists come in, I'm styling Colleen and she
- 22:50Speaker 2: can maybe shout you out if she wore this pink shirt.
- 22:53Speaker 2: It's like we can't do that because where do we
- 22:56Speaker 2: draw the line of who, you know, so let's just
- 22:59Speaker 2: all pay.
- 22:59Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:00Speaker 2: So we don't barter. Let's just all pay. Let's, you know,
- 23:03Speaker 2: and we'll be fair where we need to, but let's pay. Okay.
- 23:06Speaker 2: And so it's that type of business. You will pay.
- 23:09Speaker 2: We've had Oprah Winfrey stylists come in there and, well,
- 23:12Speaker 2: you know, for her TV shows and they pay. Tyler
- 23:15Speaker 2: Perry Studios, they pay. Everyone pays. Everyone just pays. So
- 23:19Speaker 2: it's pretty magical because everyone just really... It goes by
- 23:24Speaker 2: the rules. I mean, we have rules. So it's no,
- 23:28Speaker 2: you know, if you're upset about something or if you
- 23:31Speaker 2: can't get the dress, somebody already paid for it. So
- 23:34Speaker 2: fair is fair.
- 23:35Speaker 1: Yeah, of course.
- 23:36Speaker 2: You know what I mean? Like, fair is fair. It's not,
- 23:38Speaker 2: I don't want her to have it. I want her
- 23:39Speaker 2: to have it. No, we don't do that.
- 23:41Speaker 1: Okay.
- 23:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:42Speaker 1: All right. So now when your parents come to visit
- 23:46Speaker 1: the showroom, how long has the showroom been around now?
- 23:48Speaker 2: The showroom, we just celebrated 10 years.
- 23:50Speaker 1: 10 years. So when your dad... Well, I would say
- 23:54Speaker 1: your dad and your mom came down to the showroom.
- 23:56Speaker 1: Do you feel like it was an aha, like, damn,
- 23:58Speaker 1: my daughter's really doing it no more? What was he saying?
- 24:02Speaker 2: A hobby. A hobby. I think now, yeah. Now it's
- 24:06Speaker 2: a little bit more respected that this is now a
- 24:08Speaker 2: business and I can be here with you and it's
- 24:12Speaker 2: still open, you know? So, yeah, exactly. So I think, yeah,
- 24:18Speaker 2: I gained his respect.
- 24:20Speaker 1: And your mother too, right?
- 24:21Speaker 2: Yeah, she was always supportive.
- 24:23Speaker 1: Oh, from day one?
- 24:23Speaker 2: Yeah, she was always... It's called the Ivy Showroom. That's
- 24:26Speaker 2: her name, Ivy. Any tissue? Yeah. That is sweet. Yes.
- 24:36Speaker 2: She was always like, go. Don't listen to her. Do it.
- 24:41Speaker 2: So she was always like.
- 24:43Speaker 1: That is a sweet.
- 24:44Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. She was like, go, go, go, go, go.
- 24:48Speaker 2: Even when it was... And you know, it's ebbs and flows.
- 24:50Speaker 2: It's business. It's business. Wow.
- 24:54Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 24:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:56Speaker 1: That's deep.
- 24:57Speaker 2: Yeah. So she's going to be worldwide.
- 25:00Speaker 1: That's deep.
- 25:01Speaker 2: Forever, yeah.
- 25:02Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 25:03Speaker 2: It's the Ivy Showroom.
- 25:05Speaker 1: What were her thoughts on it?
- 25:08Speaker 2: Still supportive.
- 25:10Speaker 1: Was she like....
- 25:13Speaker 2: When I named it, yeah. Going back to it 10
- 25:17Speaker 2: years ago, and I was like, it's the Ivy Showroom.
- 25:20Speaker 2: And she was like, oh, wow. That's what she said? Yeah, like, wow.
- 25:24Speaker 2: And so now she's always like, the ivy.
- 25:27Speaker 1: Did you, by any chance, tape her reaction when you
- 25:31Speaker 1: told her?
- 25:31Speaker 2: No, so long. Yeah, I should have. Should have. But
- 25:34Speaker 2: every time she walks in, she's still like, wow.
- 25:37Speaker 1: Wow.
- 25:38Speaker 2: Talk about. Oh, I sent her things. I'm like, look
- 25:41Speaker 2: at the ivy. We have the Oscars. And it's like, oh, wow.
- 25:44Speaker 2: This is great. Like, oh, we're here. We did this movie.
- 25:46Speaker 2: And it's like, oh, wow, the ivy. Wow.
- 25:50Speaker 1: Full circle. What advice would you give to business owners
- 25:53Speaker 1: trying to strike out on their own as far as expansion?
- 25:59Speaker 2: As far as expansion? Have tunnel vision. If you're a
- 26:03Speaker 2: business owner, you should have tunnel vision. You should absolutely
- 26:08Speaker 2: just focus on what you're doing. Literally put the blinders
- 26:11Speaker 2: on and focus. I think a lot of times, even
- 26:14Speaker 2: with building the IVs, People are like, oh, somebody opened
- 26:17Speaker 2: a showroom across the street or here. Why is there
- 26:19Speaker 2: not many showrooms? I don't know what anyone is doing.
- 26:22Speaker 2: I have to focus on what I'm doing. And if
- 26:26Speaker 2: I have to look at what everyone else is doing,
- 26:29Speaker 2: what format they're using, that's just going to cloud my brain.
- 26:33Speaker 2: So this is the formula and this is what we do.
- 26:36Speaker 2: You cook, we talk, that's it. You don't care what
- 26:39Speaker 2: anybody else is doing. So just focus. Tunnel vision.
- 26:42Speaker 1: So where can we catch everything Fiscani?
- 26:46Speaker 2: At the Ivy Showroom.
- 26:47Speaker 1: At the Ivy Showroom.
- 26:48Speaker 2: No, at the Ivy Showroom. At the ivyshowroom.com. Book an appointment.
- 26:52Speaker 2: Put that link. And I travel a lot, so Fiscani's busy.
- 26:57Speaker 2: You come to L.A.? A lot. I was just in L.A. Okay.
- 27:01Speaker 2: I was just in L.A. two weeks ago. I'll be
- 27:03Speaker 2: back in two weeks. Okay.
- 27:05Speaker 1: And then your type of clientele is technically, what, higher end?
- 27:10Speaker 1: I don't want to mark it, but.
- 27:13Speaker 2: No, everyone. Everyone.
- 27:14Speaker 1: So, like, Colleen.
- 27:18Speaker 1: No, I was trying to say like a regular.
- 27:20Speaker 2: I don't know why you give me tissue. Hold on.
- 27:22Speaker 1: Like a regular person.
- 27:24Speaker 2: What is regular person?
- 27:26Speaker 1: Like a person with a smaller budget.
- 27:28Speaker 2: Yes. Our criteria is you have to be human. Okay. Check. Okay.
- 27:35Speaker 2: And you need to be able to pay your bill.
- 27:37Speaker 2: That's it. Okay. That's it. That's it. That's all. You
- 27:41Speaker 2: have to be human, dead or alive. We actually did
- 27:44Speaker 2: something dead. For real?
- 27:48Speaker 1: And then your clothes are only rent. You can't keep.
- 27:50Speaker 1: You can only rent. Yeah.
- 27:51Speaker 2: We do customs, too.
- 27:53Speaker 1: And you can go online, too, right, to get it?
- 27:55Speaker 2: No. Right now, you have to come in. It's really
- 27:58Speaker 2: a league.
- 27:58Speaker 1: Because you have to try it on.
- 27:59Speaker 2: Yeah. We're in a league at the Ivy. But yeah,
- 28:03Speaker 2: we move into online. A lot of expansion things happening.
- 28:05Speaker 2: Stay tuned. We move into other cities. So we may
- 28:08Speaker 2: become the city near you. L.A.? L.A.? Not L.A. first,
- 28:11Speaker 2: but we actually... A grand opening very soon.
- 28:15Speaker 1: Okay.
- 28:15Speaker 2: But we are coming to LA. Okay. Yeah.
- 28:17Speaker 1: I feel like a lot of entrepreneurs are kind of
- 28:20Speaker 1: staying away from LA right now. I feel like between
- 28:23Speaker 1: our minimum wage, our cost of real estate.
- 28:27Speaker 2: It's pricey. And let me tell you, I do frequent
- 28:31Speaker 2: showrooms in LA. Interesting. Interesting? Interesting.
- 28:35Speaker 1: Interesting in what sense? Like fashion or?
- 28:40Speaker 2: Yeah. Fashion, the model, the sizes.
- 28:43Speaker 1: The sizes.
- 28:46Speaker 2: The sizes. It's interesting. It's different. What we're doing here
- 28:50Speaker 2: in Atlanta is really special, I realized. And it was,
- 28:53Speaker 2: we really, the Ivy Show, we really like changed the
- 28:57Speaker 2: culture in fashion. And we're in a special, we're positioned,
- 29:01Speaker 2: thank you, we're positioned quite well out here in the southeast.
- 29:05Speaker 2: We're the largest out here in the southeast. But it
- 29:07Speaker 2: just changed how people could look at fashion. We bring
- 29:10Speaker 2: in couture and it's girls that never even wore couture.
- 29:14Speaker 2: Probably one of those. Now you will, see? I'm definitely coming. Yeah,
- 29:18Speaker 2: so it's like we literally changed the whole, like just
- 29:23Speaker 2: how you feel about fashion and how things you might
- 29:27Speaker 2: have saw, like, wow, how does she, who would ever
- 29:30Speaker 2: wear that? It's on the red carpet. I have no
- 29:31Speaker 2: idea where you'd get that from. It's like, no, it's
- 29:33Speaker 2: right here at the Ivy. Right here.
- 29:35Speaker 1: Do you get other stylists that reach out to you,
- 29:37Speaker 1: young stylists that want to get mentored by you?
- 29:40Speaker 2: Absolutely, all the time.
- 29:41Speaker 1: And how do you funnel them? I would imagine you
- 29:45Speaker 1: mentor some, right?
- 29:46Speaker 2: Yes, it's hard. All my staff came in that way,
- 29:49Speaker 2: but now they're staff. But it's hard because I can't
- 29:54Speaker 2: take in hundreds of kids. But I'm also thinking about
- 29:59Speaker 2: which has been in the works. I just want to
- 30:00Speaker 2: do it when I have time and it can slow
- 30:02Speaker 2: down and kind of like bring them in and teach
- 30:04Speaker 2: them and stuff like that. But I get an email
- 30:07Speaker 2: every day. Wow. It's like, hey, my name is... Aw.
- 30:12Speaker 2: You know, and it's like, okay, okay. One at a time.
- 30:16Speaker 1: I love that.
- 30:17Speaker 2: Yeah, but it's very inspirational. Like if you come in
- 30:20Speaker 2: and you love fashion, it's.
- 30:21Speaker 1: Like, whoa.
- 30:23Speaker 2: Wow. I want to live here. You know, like they
- 30:25Speaker 2: come in like this is it. This is my... You know,
- 30:29Speaker 2: I didn't have that. Remember, I just happened to see
- 30:31Speaker 2: a video. I had nowhere to go to. But this
- 30:32Speaker 2: is a place they come in and it's like this
- 30:35Speaker 2: is a starting point.
- 30:36Speaker 1: And when you go into your showroom, I've never been
- 30:39Speaker 1: in one. Is it like there's an accessory section?
- 30:43Speaker 2: Yeah, we have accessories, but mostly we focus on wardrobes.
- 30:48Speaker 2: In this showroom. But we do have accessories. Yeah, we
- 30:50Speaker 2: do have this hat, this glasses. We do have things,
- 30:53Speaker 2: but we don't sell. We style. We style.
- 30:56Speaker 1: So like, just give me a scenario. Kony walks into
- 30:59Speaker 1: the showroom. Hi.
- 31:01Speaker 2: Hi. How are you? We'll give you a consultation. So
- 31:04Speaker 2: what do you need something for? Where are you going? Okay.
- 31:07Speaker 2: What's your special, special, special event that you would need
- 31:10Speaker 2: us for? Okay.
- 31:11Speaker 1: And say I say, oh, it's a special event, but
- 31:13Speaker 1: I'm insecure about my legs.
- 31:15Speaker 2: Yeah, we'll work on all of those. Okay, perfect. Because
- 31:17Speaker 2: we're stylists first. We don't sell. We style. So we're
- 31:20Speaker 2: not like, oh, your leg's great. We will style you.
- 31:24Speaker 2: Got it. And so, yeah, you will walk out like, okay,
- 31:28Speaker 2: I got styled. It's such a unique experience. You don't
- 31:31Speaker 2: get that anywhere in the world. And I have been
- 31:34Speaker 2: to every showroom up and down. in America and other countries,
- 31:39Speaker 2: you will not get that. I guarantee that. Because you
- 31:42Speaker 2: have stylists that are here to style you. You just
- 31:45Speaker 2: need to bring your body. And if it's here, you'll
- 31:49Speaker 2: be styled. If we don't have it, sometimes we can
- 31:51Speaker 2: even get it in. We have from, I mean, people's
- 31:54Speaker 2: biggest moments, like I'm doing the Grammys or I'm Colleen
- 31:57Speaker 2: and I'm doing my cover artwork for my podcast and
- 32:02Speaker 2: I'm going to prom or I'm having a photo shoot
- 32:05Speaker 2: for my birthday. Every moment is a big moment. Oh,
- 32:08Speaker 2: I'm coming to America. And they came and got stuff
- 32:11Speaker 2: from us. I mean, we cover any wardrobe problem you
- 32:16Speaker 2: would have.
- 32:17Speaker 1: And then what if someone comes in and they're saying like, hey,
- 32:19Speaker 1: you know what? Based on my body type, I just
- 32:21Speaker 1: don't know how to dress this body type. Can you
- 32:24Speaker 1: give us direction on what someone of this body type
- 32:27Speaker 1: should wear to maybe look more flattering or... Have you
- 32:31Speaker 1: ever had those type of situations?
- 32:32Speaker 2: Of course. That's every day. That's normal business. Oh, that's normal. Okay.
- 32:36Speaker 2: That's an oil change and trippy loop. That's normal. That's
- 32:40Speaker 2: every day. Okay.
- 32:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 32:42Speaker 2: Because especially when you're dealing with women, it's like some
- 32:45Speaker 2: people just don't know. And so you just bring your body.
- 32:48Speaker 1: Just bring your body.
- 32:49Speaker 2: And your credit card. Woo! Yes. I want to go to.
- 32:52Speaker 1: The Ivy showroom.
- 32:53Speaker 2: Come to the Ivy. Book, book, book. Next time we
- 32:56Speaker 2: do this at the Ivy.
- 32:57Speaker 1: Yes. And where can everybody keep up with you?
- 33:00Speaker 2: So Fiscani Style, that's my social. And the Ivy showroom.
- 33:05Speaker 2: Book an appointment. There's a booking tab right there when
- 33:08Speaker 2: you go to the Ivy showroom. You have to come
- 33:10Speaker 2: see us. We will handle all your wardrobe problems.
- 33:14Speaker 1: Oh, I did want to ask before we sign out
- 33:17Speaker 1: if you had any stories. You don't have to drop
- 33:21Speaker 1: a name, but any interesting, fun, or a story behind
- 33:25Speaker 1: a look, even a story behind the look of someone
- 33:28Speaker 1: you styled where you can point to, hey, this video,
- 33:31Speaker 1: this was a funny something that happened behind the scenes?
- 33:35Speaker 2: My God, we'd be here all night. We'd be here
- 33:39Speaker 2: all night. Let me say this. So I started styling
- 33:44Speaker 2: over a decade ago. Well, now almost two. And I
- 33:48Speaker 2: started the showroom a decade ago, right? And I will
- 33:51Speaker 2: say because of social media and things have changed. Like
- 33:56Speaker 2: before you'd be in Us Weekly or, you know, you'd
- 33:58Speaker 2: have to be on the checkout aisle at the grocery
- 34:01Speaker 2: store and you'd see your work there, right? And now
- 34:04Speaker 2: you can see your work in five minutes. That carpet hits,
- 34:07Speaker 2: it's on whatever page and it's moving and it's growing.
- 34:11Speaker 2: And stylists have to move differently than when I came in.
- 34:15Speaker 2: Now your work is criticized. Now your work is.
- 34:17Speaker 1: Yeah, because- Oh yeah, I do see that.
- 34:19Speaker 2: I do see that a lot. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It
- 34:21Speaker 2: could be like, oh, who told her to wear pink?
- 34:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 34:23Speaker 2: Yikes. You know, like it's, you know, so- that's the
- 34:28Speaker 2: world we're in. So when you style people and you
- 34:31Speaker 2: put it out there and it's always someone with a comment, right?
- 34:35Speaker 2: It's always someone, I love it, I hate it, I
- 34:37Speaker 2: hate her. You know, like you're always going to get
- 34:40Speaker 2: those things. And it's just background noise. So you're just
- 34:44Speaker 2: never going to quite win it. You can get, like,
- 34:47Speaker 2: I think more people say they like it than hate it.
- 34:50Speaker 2: But I wouldn't even advise looking at that. You want
- 34:53Speaker 2: to lock in with the client. Right? Like, do you
- 34:55Speaker 2: like what you look like? And if that's the yes
- 34:57Speaker 2: and you love it, go out there. Because you're not
- 34:59Speaker 2: going to be great with the world wide web.
- 35:03Speaker 1: I agree with that.
- 35:04Speaker 2: You know what I mean? You're just not going to
- 35:06Speaker 2: be great. So the stories are endless. Like, it's like,
- 35:08Speaker 2: you look great. We agree on it. You go out there.
- 35:11Speaker 2: And it could be like, wow, who did that? And,
- 35:13Speaker 2: you know, we get 80 more new appointments. Oh, whoa.
- 35:18Speaker 2: Don't like her. You know, and it just goes left.
- 35:20Speaker 2: But so long as you do a great job and
- 35:24Speaker 2: So long as you and the client connect, that's all
- 35:26Speaker 2: you need to worry about. But in this day and age,
- 35:28Speaker 2: you just have to have crocodile skin.
- 35:30Speaker 1: Wow.
- 35:31Speaker 2: It's not an easy job.
- 35:32Speaker 1: I never even thought about that. Yeah, yeah.
- 35:33Speaker 2: Because you're right.
- 35:34Speaker 1: They do do that. That's the first thing they do
- 35:35Speaker 1: now is like, let's see.
- 35:36Speaker 2: Let's rate.
- 35:37Speaker 1: Let's compare.
- 35:37Speaker 2: Yeah, let's tear it down. Yeah. And this is really
- 35:40Speaker 2: your work. Yeah. This is really something you built. And
- 35:44Speaker 2: it's these people that are like... Stretch my knuckles. You
- 35:47Speaker 2: know what I mean? Like, and just keep going. And
- 35:52Speaker 2: they have time. And it's these people that just, I have,
- 35:55Speaker 2: it's people that have 15 arguments going on on 15
- 35:58Speaker 2: different platforms. And, you know, this is what I do
- 36:01Speaker 2: all day. And so it doesn't necessarily matter to, you know,
- 36:07Speaker 2: like it shouldn't make you go like sleep under your
- 36:10Speaker 2: bed and never come out. Just keep going. You know,
- 36:13Speaker 2: just keep going. But yeah, the stories are endless. But we,
- 36:17Speaker 2: you know, you should hit more than you miss. I
- 36:18Speaker 2: will say that. I shouldn't be a miss, miss, miss.
- 36:20Speaker 2: Maybe it's not your calling.
- 36:21Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 36:22Speaker 2: But yeah, that's one thing I would put out there.
- 36:24Speaker 2: That's a story I'll leave out there. Okay. Just keep going.
- 36:28Speaker 1: I appreciate that. Thank you guys for tuning in.
- 36:30Speaker 2: Peace out.
- 36:48Speaker 1: Be my bro.
