- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey, guys, it's time for Stacks and Hacks.
- 0:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:03Speaker 3: Stacks and Hacks.
- 0:04Speaker 1: I have stacks of information, like headlines, and Rich has
- 0:07Speaker 1: life hacks to make your life easier. Adidas is developing
- 0:12Speaker 1: a new pair of slip-on slides that double as ice packs.
- 0:15Speaker 1: They're called recovery slides.
- 0:17Speaker 3: Ooh, I like it.
- 0:18Speaker 1: You toss them in the freezer for 30 minutes, you
- 0:20Speaker 1: wear them around. The internet is LOLing, but I think
- 0:23Speaker 1: it sounds good to me.
- 0:23Speaker 3: Sounds really cold. I'm down. Seems like that would be
- 0:26Speaker 3: right up all the athletes in recovery. Seems miserable.
- 0:30Speaker 2: I would like it.
- 0:31Speaker 3: Oh, my feet are cold?
- 0:32Speaker 1: You have permanent recovery feet. People are looking into more
- 0:37Speaker 1: ways to take their pets out trick-or-treating. PetSmart announced two
- 0:40Speaker 1: in-store events happening at all locations. Petco also has trick-or-treating
- 0:44Speaker 1: later this month, which is kind of cute. But I'd
- 0:46Speaker 1: just say throw a costume on your dog, walk him
- 0:48Speaker 1: around with the kids. The safest states in America. There
- 0:52Speaker 1: is a whole thing. Wyoming, because nobody lives in Wyoming.
- 0:56Speaker 1: Except for the people that listen to our show. Wyoming
- 1:01Speaker 1: is number 11. Arizona is number 14. New Mexico is
- 1:03Speaker 1: number 30, as far as the states go. The safest
- 1:06Speaker 1: states are Vermont, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, and Connecticut. The
- 1:11Speaker 1: unsafest states, the bottom five, are Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, Florida,
- 1:15Speaker 1: and Arkansas. Two men were pulled over this weekend. They
- 1:20Speaker 1: were driving a couch down a busy road in Charlotte,
- 1:22Speaker 1: North Carolina. Police posted a photo showing a small couch
- 1:25Speaker 1: straddling two electric scooters.
- 1:27Speaker 2: Ah, see. I was wondering.
- 1:28Speaker 3: I was like, they were driving the couch?
- 1:29Speaker 2: That's a plan.
- 1:30Speaker 3: How are we going to move this? Well, we got
- 1:31Speaker 3: two scooters. Let's go. That's very funny.
- 1:33Speaker 1: Does anybody here have a friend, Rich, that likes to
- 1:37Speaker 1: tell you the same stories over and over again?
- 1:39Speaker 3: A new poll says 28% of us.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Have a friend that will not stop a friend from
- 1:44Speaker 1: repeating themselves. 41% say they probably interrupted. Another 20% say
- 1:49Speaker 1: they shut down and they just let them tell the story.
- 1:52Speaker 3: I do that. Rich tells this story a lot. Have
- 1:54Speaker 3: you guys heard this story? Which one?
- 1:55Speaker 2: You know, I met Gladys Knight when I worked in Dallas.
- 1:58Speaker 2: I worked for a station that did these concerts. And
- 2:01Speaker 2: she was doing like a little show for the radio station.
- 2:05Speaker 2: They were all hanging out in rehearsals. And she walks
- 2:07Speaker 2: up to me. She's like, I'm supposed to go up
- 2:09Speaker 2: and rehearse, but I ain't had one chip. Get me
- 2:12Speaker 2: a chip. Give me a bag of chips. So I'm like,
- 2:14Speaker 2: all right, I'll go get you a bag of chips.
- 2:15Speaker 2: So I go get her a bag of chips. Nothing said.
- 2:18Speaker 2: She does the concert. She thanks me during the show
- 2:21Speaker 2: for a bag of chips. She's like, because of this man,
- 2:23Speaker 2: I got a bag of chips. That's why I'm singing tonight.
- 2:24Speaker 3: So she was very cool. I like her a lot.
- 2:26Speaker 3: She's a cool lady. Kyle's the friend that just says
- 2:28Speaker 3: nice every time. She's like that Taylor Swift on Saturday
- 2:31Speaker 3: Night Live.
- 2:32Speaker 2: Oh, no.
- 2:33Speaker 3: That was so funny. Okay.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Guess which state is the most Botox-obsessed state and which
- 2:40Speaker 1: state is the least.
- 2:41Speaker 3: Arizona.
- 2:42Speaker 2: No.
- 2:43Speaker 3: Wrong. What, Nevada? California. Wrong. New York.
- 2:47Speaker 1: New York is the most Botox-obsessed state. Mississippi is the
- 2:51Speaker 1: least Botox-obsessed state. So this is interesting. I'm not totally
- 2:55Speaker 1: against this because it saves money, but apparently there's a
- 2:59Speaker 1: new trend.
- 2:59Speaker 3: Parents are using.
- 3:00Speaker 1: AI to generate picture-day-style images of their kids. Because they
- 3:06Speaker 1: can avoid paying for it on picture day.
- 3:09Speaker 3: Oh, interesting.
- 3:10Speaker 1: So you already know what your kid looks like. Just
- 3:12Speaker 1: dress it up as a school pic. And they're also,
- 3:14Speaker 1: that way they don't have to put the watermarks on
- 3:16Speaker 1: the picture. They don't have to pay extra for it.
- 3:19Speaker 3: Those pictures are expensive. It's actually kind of genius. It
- 3:21Speaker 3: is kind of genius.
- 3:23Speaker 1: I found some of my old ones when I was
- 3:25Speaker 1: a kid and I had AI clean them up. I
- 3:27Speaker 1: like that a lot. Coca-Cola is going to launch two
- 3:29Speaker 1: new flavors in 2027. Coca-Cola Cherry Lime and Coca-Cola Strawberry Float.
- 3:33Speaker 2: Hmm.
- 3:35Speaker 3: Anybody here ever had LASIK surgery? LASIK? No, but I
- 3:37Speaker 3: would love LASIK.
- 3:38Speaker 2: You would?
- 3:39Speaker 3: Yeah. You know how they discovered LASIK surgery?
- 3:41Speaker 2: No.
- 3:42Speaker 1: It was found by accident. A nearsighted boy got into
- 3:45Speaker 1: a fist fight. His glasses shattered, sending a piece of
- 3:48Speaker 1: glass into his eye. After a doctor removed the glass,
- 3:51Speaker 1: he found out that the tiny cuts had flattened the
- 3:53Speaker 1: cornea and the kid could see better.
- 3:55Speaker 3: Wow. What are the chances?
- 3:57Speaker 2: I know.
- 3:58Speaker 3: What are the chances for this? Listerine.
- 4:00Speaker 1: How many here have tried Listerine? I have. Sure. You
- 4:02Speaker 1: know what that was for? Listerine was marketed as a
- 4:06Speaker 1: feminine hygiene product in 1932, specifically to clean and, quote,
- 4:11Speaker 1: deodorize your lady parts. No, no, no, no.
- 4:15Speaker 3: That sounds painful.
- 4:16Speaker 1: Somehow it turned into mouthwash.
- 4:18Speaker 2: No.
- 4:19Speaker 3: She drew the math. They didn't change the ingredients or anything?
- 4:21Speaker 3: What do you got with the life hacks? All right. So,
- 4:25Speaker 3: you know.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Cold, allergy season, it's here. Flu season, it's here. So
- 4:30Speaker 2: how do you know if you got a cold or
- 4:32Speaker 2: if you got allergies?
- 4:34Speaker 3: I ask you that all the time. Most of us
- 4:36Speaker 3: in here will be like, do you think that's allergies?
- 4:37Speaker 3: I'm asking you specifically.
- 4:39Speaker 2: That's why I went down a deep dive of WebMD,
- 4:42Speaker 2: and they say, here's how you tell, because both of them,
- 4:45Speaker 2: you get stuffed up, sneezing, runny nose. That's allergies and cold. But-
- 4:49Speaker 2: If it's allergies, you probably have itchy, watery eyes. That
- 4:53Speaker 2: points towards allergies. And if it gets better, if you
- 4:55Speaker 2: go inside a little bit, that's probably allergies because you're
- 4:59Speaker 2: removing the thing that you're allergic to. But if it
- 5:02Speaker 2: stays pretty bad, like if you have like, you know,
- 5:05Speaker 2: like a fever or body aches, that means that you've
- 5:09Speaker 2: got something that's going to last a little longer than
- 5:11Speaker 2: you stay home.
- 5:12Speaker 3: That's probably a cold or the flu. So if you like.
- 5:15Speaker 2: Leave the thing that's making you irritated and you still
- 5:18Speaker 2: feel like crap, you're probably sick, sick, not just allergies.
- 5:21Speaker 3: So that's. Could I be allergic to you guys? Yeah,
- 5:23Speaker 3: probably are. Yeah.
- 5:25Speaker 2: Plus, you know, you always complain about the vents in
- 5:27Speaker 2: this room causing you to have allergies.
- 5:29Speaker 3: All right. That life hack and many more can be
- 5:30Speaker 3: found at JohnJayandRich.com.
