- 0:15Speaker 1: Hello, beautiful beans, and welcome to this very very special episode.
- 0:19Speaker 1: This is my four hundredth episode, four hundred episodes.
- 0:25Speaker 2: That just blows my mind that we've done that many.
- 0:28Speaker 1: And I say wee because it's like just been a
- 0:30Speaker 1: collective of like, you know, the people that have you know, Shanaiah, Maddie, everyone,
- 0:36Speaker 1: and then you guys who have like inputed in the episodes.
- 0:38Speaker 2: Anyway, four hundred, it's fucking crazy.
- 0:41Speaker 1: And we thought we'd just dedicate this episode to a
- 0:44Speaker 1: few of your voice messages that you guys sent in,
- 0:47Speaker 1: and I've got one email as well that I'm going
- 0:50Speaker 1: to read out as well that people have sent in.
- 0:52Speaker 1: But basically, I just want to say that little Rundown,
- 0:56Speaker 1: of the last four years, this has been so much
- 0:59Speaker 1: more than I ever expected it would be like having
- 1:01Speaker 1: this podcast, having it be my main gig, my career,
- 1:06Speaker 1: what I do has just been the best curve ball
- 1:10Speaker 1: I could have ever expected for my life. Like I
- 1:13Speaker 1: just as most of you guys know, I started this
- 1:16Speaker 1: podcast while I was halfway through my Masters because I
- 1:20Speaker 1: wanted to help myself consolidate information. I just wanted to
- 1:24Speaker 1: share what I was learning. I thought i'd go into
- 1:26Speaker 1: lecturing and I thought, oh, podcast is a really good thing.
- 1:28Speaker 1: It's a passion project. On the side, it's like an
- 1:31Speaker 1: outlet for me to talk about all these concepts that
- 1:33Speaker 1: I'm learning about and studying.
- 1:36Speaker 2: I would have never thought.
- 1:37Speaker 1: I knew that you could make a career out of podcasting,
- 1:39Speaker 1: but I thought that was just like the Joe Rogans
- 1:42Speaker 1: and that's it. I would have never thought that it
- 1:46Speaker 1: could turn into something that it's turned into, that we
- 1:48Speaker 1: would build the community the way we have, and not
- 1:52Speaker 1: only across Australia, but across the world, like huge audiences
- 1:56Speaker 1: in the US, in the UK, in the Netherlands, Germany, Canada,
- 2:00Speaker 1: New Zealand, just like Ireland. It's just been unbelievable and
- 2:06Speaker 1: it really means the absolute world to me knowing that
- 2:10Speaker 1: there's people all across the road and here at home
- 2:13Speaker 1: that tune in and feel like they get, you know,
- 2:16Speaker 1: this piece of advice or it feels like you know.
- 2:19Speaker 1: So many of you guys have said you're like the
- 2:20Speaker 1: sister I've never had, and it's literally we have built
- 2:22Speaker 1: a community. We've done a live show, we're about to
- 2:25Speaker 1: do another five live shows. I've met so many if
- 2:29Speaker 1: you guys in person. I've had like mindset hacks, and
- 2:33Speaker 1: then I've had you know, like extras for the podcast episode,
- 2:38Speaker 1: and now I've got the app. There's just so many
- 2:39Speaker 1: different things that we've done together and gone on this
- 2:41Speaker 1: journey together. So many If you guys have bought the
- 2:43Speaker 1: card game, it's been unbelievable. I even met this bean
- 2:47Speaker 1: at the Formula one the other day and she was
- 2:50Speaker 1: absolute fucking legend. She literally was like, Oh my god,
- 2:53Speaker 1: I have to tell you this. I have to tell
- 2:54Speaker 1: you this. I listened to your podcast on the way
- 2:57Speaker 1: back home from a big night out so I don't
- 3:00Speaker 1: get demons the next day. So she's literally like she's like,
- 3:03Speaker 1: I'm coming down. I'm like, I've had a huge night
- 3:06Speaker 1: and I will put your podcast on before I go
- 3:07Speaker 1: to sleep, so that way the next morning I feel good.
- 3:09Speaker 1: I'm like, you know what, I just love the many
- 3:12Speaker 1: different purposes that my podcast serves and I adore you guys.
- 3:15Speaker 1: So I'm going to stop rambling and I'm going to
- 3:17Speaker 1: share some of your messages to me. So the first
- 3:21Speaker 1: one's going to be the email, and then I've got
- 3:22Speaker 1: four beautiful voice messages that you guys have sent through.
- 3:25Speaker 1: So love you so much, Adore. You can't believe it's
- 3:28Speaker 1: been four hundred too, hopefully another four hundred more. So
- 3:31Speaker 1: the email let's begin. Hi Alexis, I'm an og bean.
- 3:37Speaker 1: Someone that's an ogban that's been here for the last
- 3:39Speaker 1: five years is like, honestly, are we related?
- 3:42Speaker 2: Are we sisters? Are we best friends?
- 3:45Speaker 1: I'm an ogban and I can honestly say Alexi's podcast
- 3:48Speaker 1: has changed my life. I was stuck in a rut.
- 3:51Speaker 1: I was sorry for myself, not going anywhere, and then
- 3:54Speaker 1: I found this amazing potty. I can't tell you how
- 3:56Speaker 1: much I am grateful for everything that you do, all
- 3:59Speaker 1: that I have learned from you, and how much I
- 4:00Speaker 1: absolutely loved learning about the brain and how I can
- 4:03Speaker 1: work with my mind to create an incredible life.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Thank you, thank you, thank you. Your words are gold.
- 4:09Speaker 2: Thank you. Oh, I'm probably going to tear up like
- 4:12Speaker 2: I did last time.
- 4:14Speaker 1: Actually, like if you guys tuned in for I think
- 4:16Speaker 1: it was a three hundredth episode, I'm there like having
- 4:19Speaker 1: a mental breakdown, sobbing, so good times.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Okay. Audio message, Hi.
- 4:45Speaker 3: Alexis, It's Kate here from Adelaide. I found your podcast.
- 4:49Speaker 3: Well it turns up on my Spotify suggestions pretty much
- 4:52Speaker 3: the very first week you started, when I was in
- 4:56Speaker 3: one of the lowest places I've ever been in my life.
- 4:59Speaker 3: My marriage had split up, I'd lost my house, my
- 5:03Speaker 3: dog had died, and I was scared, scared, scared, and
- 5:07Speaker 3: pretty much I was scared before that too. I was
- 5:09Speaker 3: just scared of everything. And over the last five years
- 5:13Speaker 3: you've really helped me to not save my life, but
- 5:19Speaker 3: to help me define my life. And I feel fit,
- 5:22Speaker 3: I feel happy, confident. I'm taking a few risks and
- 5:27Speaker 3: going yeah, I would like that, and going for it,
- 5:30Speaker 3: which I never would have done before. And it is
- 5:34Speaker 3: six thirty in the morning and I've been up for
- 5:36Speaker 3: an hour, which is bizarre as normally I sleep as
- 5:39Speaker 3: long as I possibly well, I used to sleep as
- 5:42Speaker 3: long as I possibly can. And your a legend and
- 5:45Speaker 3: you've helped me probably more than you could possibly know.
- 5:49Speaker 3: You're a legend. You're just amazing person, and thank you
- 5:52Speaker 3: so much for what you do for me and for everybody.
- 5:56Speaker 3: You're just You're incredible. Okay, bye, And can I say
- 6:02Speaker 3: that I love you. I think you're amazing and I
- 6:04Speaker 3: can't wait to meet you in Adelaide in many Okay,
- 6:08Speaker 3: bye for good for real.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Oh my god, that already got midteriri. That is fucking amazing. Also,
- 6:15Speaker 1: I can't wait to see you in Adelaide too. I
- 6:17Speaker 1: can't wait to go to Adelaide. I've never been to
- 6:18Speaker 1: Adelaide before, so this is just so exciting. But also,
- 6:21Speaker 1: thank you, Thank you so much. This is unbelievable. You
- 6:25Speaker 1: have literally been on this journey with me.
- 6:27Speaker 2: For five years.
- 6:29Speaker 1: And I love that you're a morning person now. I
- 6:31Speaker 1: love that you try and you think. This is just incredible.
- 6:33Speaker 2: Thank you for sharing. You make me want to cry.
- 6:37Speaker 4: Okay, Hi Alexis. My name is Jade. I am one
- 6:43Speaker 4: of your longtime listeners from Adelaide in South Australia. I
- 6:49Speaker 4: just wanted to say, firstly, congratulations on reaching your four
- 6:52Speaker 4: hundredth episode. I'm so proud of you. I have been
- 6:55Speaker 4: a listener for nearly two years now and I genuinely
- 7:01Speaker 4: mean this from the bottom of my heart when I
- 7:03Speaker 4: say that your podcast changed my life. I came from
- 7:06Speaker 4: a place of I suppose I could say someone who
- 7:10Speaker 4: was very lost, didn't really understand myself, didn't really know
- 7:14Speaker 4: why I felt the way that I felt about things
- 7:17Speaker 4: and why I reacted the way that I did and
- 7:19Speaker 4: why I even thought and did the things that I did.
- 7:22Speaker 4: It wasn't until I came across you and your amazing
- 7:27Speaker 4: creation that I've felt a validation that I've never felt before.
- 7:34Speaker 4: Not only that, but you've given me confidence to be
- 7:37Speaker 4: able to support other amazing human beings within my life.
- 7:42Speaker 4: Given the advice, the knowledge, everything that you've shared through
- 7:45Speaker 4: your platform with all of your audience, We've been able
- 7:48Speaker 4: to go and share that with the people who are
- 7:51Speaker 4: close to us. That has an impact on those relationships.
- 7:54Speaker 4: So I want to really thank you for being you
- 7:58Speaker 4: and for having an impact on people more than you
- 8:00Speaker 4: would even see in you know, your comments on your Instagram.
- 8:05Speaker 2: And emails you get, etcetera, etcetera.
- 8:09Speaker 4: I'm literally yapping at this point, but I basically yeah,
- 8:12Speaker 4: I just want to say thank you. You are genuinely
- 8:15Speaker 4: an angel, and I believe that you are so embodying
- 8:21Speaker 4: your purpose or part of your purpose on this earth,
- 8:25Speaker 4: and that is to help people become the best versions
- 8:28Speaker 4: of themselves. You're amazing, Alexis, and I really am so
- 8:32Speaker 4: excited to see you on your upcoming Adelaide show on
- 8:34Speaker 4: your tour in May. I can't wait and I'll see
- 8:37Speaker 4: you then keep doing You're doing your amazing.
- 8:40Speaker 2: Oh my god, I'm literally like tearing up. This is
- 8:42Speaker 2: just crazy.
- 8:44Speaker 1: Oh I can't wait. There's another Adelaide bean. I'm actually
- 8:46Speaker 1: Adelaide's going to be a fucking vibe. So if you're
- 8:48Speaker 1: living in Adelaide, I can't wait to see you. Thank
- 8:52Speaker 1: you so much, and yeah, you are one hundred percent
- 8:54Speaker 1: right it is.
- 8:55Speaker 2: I actually feel like since starting this podcast.
- 8:59Speaker 1: Like, yeah, yes, it's nice to obviously like validate yourself
- 9:02Speaker 1: and I talk about that so much, but it is
- 9:04Speaker 1: so nice to get that connection back from you guys
- 9:07Speaker 1: and hear how it's impacted your life in personal ways
- 9:12Speaker 1: to you and how you've been able to, you know,
- 9:14Speaker 1: share that with your friends. Honestly, it's incredible and it
- 9:17Speaker 1: means the world to me, especially like hearing your voices
- 9:20Speaker 1: and oh ah, this is amazing.
- 9:22Speaker 2: Thank you. Okay, next one.
- 9:25Speaker 5: Hey Alexis. I'm Annesley. I'm twenty five years old in
- 9:29Speaker 5: the US. I love you and your podcast so much.
- 9:34Speaker 5: Congratulations on making it to four hundred episodes. I found
- 9:38Speaker 5: your podcast about three years ago when I was in
- 9:41Speaker 5: a really anxious and kind of sad place, and I've
- 9:46Speaker 5: never stopped listening. I'm pretty sure I've listened to every
- 9:49Speaker 5: single episode, and I feel like I'm so much of
- 9:54Speaker 5: a better person and a I love myself so much
- 9:58Speaker 5: more and I appreciate myself mostly because of your podcast.
- 10:04Speaker 5: And so I just want to say thank you so
- 10:06Speaker 5: much and congratulations You're amazing.
- 10:10Speaker 2: Oh I love that. Hello my us beans. Yeah.
- 10:14Speaker 1: Fuck, honestly, that's the other thing I was going to say, Like,
- 10:18Speaker 1: helping people with their relationship with themselves, with their self
- 10:22Speaker 1: love is honestly the best thing ever because you guys
- 10:27Speaker 1: are the ones doing all the work. But if I
- 10:29Speaker 1: can provide information in a way that maybe resonates with
- 10:32Speaker 1: you in a way that hasn't before, that makes that
- 10:34Speaker 1: is like that catalyst for you to create that change
- 10:36Speaker 1: for yourself. It is honestly so fucking cool because when
- 10:40Speaker 1: you have that self love, I feel like everything everything
- 10:44Speaker 1: in your life turns around. So thank you so much
- 10:47Speaker 1: for sharing just my fucking global beans are the best.
- 10:50Speaker 2: Love you guys. Okay, I think this is the last one. Hi, Alexis.
- 10:53Speaker 6: This is Sharon calling from the Sunshine costin Kollowin and
- 10:57Speaker 6: I just wanted to congratulate you on almost four hundred
- 11:01Speaker 6: podcast episodes. It's absolutely amazing. You should be super, super
- 11:05Speaker 6: proud of yourself. I listen to most of your episode
- 11:08Speaker 6: and I love them are I love your energy, you Ube.
- 11:11Speaker 6: They're interesting, they're fun, but they're also so relatable and
- 11:14Speaker 6: so educational too. So love what you're doing. Keep doing
- 11:18Speaker 6: what you're doing, because it's awesome. My favorite podcast so
- 11:21Speaker 6: far will be the Growth Versus Fixed Mindset, and I
- 11:26Speaker 6: actually loved it even more because when my ten year
- 11:29Speaker 6: old daughter came home from school that day after that
- 11:31Speaker 6: I listened to it, she told me about something that
- 11:34Speaker 6: happened at school and it was such a great opportunity
- 11:37Speaker 6: for me to bring up the discussion about growth and
- 11:40Speaker 6: fixed mindset. And I told her, oh, I listened to
- 11:43Speaker 6: this podcast from Alexis today and she's like, oh, the
- 11:47Speaker 6: cheek swears a lot, and I'm like, yeah, that's the
- 11:50Speaker 6: one because I swear a lot too, So I always
- 11:52Speaker 6: tell her how relatable it feels. And also she he
- 11:56Speaker 6: is in the background when I'm in the studio often,
- 11:59Speaker 6: but I said it was about growth and fixed mindset
- 12:02Speaker 6: and she's like, oh, interesting. We actually discussed that at
- 12:05Speaker 6: health during one of the school lesson of health. But
- 12:09Speaker 6: she's like, I wasn't quite sure about the difference. Can
- 12:12Speaker 6: we talk more into it? So we had this massive
- 12:15Speaker 6: discussion about it, and I can just see the difference.
- 12:18Speaker 6: We actually stop and look at each other now during
- 12:21Speaker 6: the day. It's like song because we have a growth mindset.
- 12:25Speaker 6: What we're gonna say now instead of saying this, we're
- 12:28Speaker 6: gonna say that. So it's been having a huge impact
- 12:31Speaker 6: on just the way to view things moving forward, even
- 12:35Speaker 6: for her little ten year old brain. So thank you.
- 12:39Speaker 6: I hope you go and have a big celebration because
- 12:43Speaker 6: you deserve it. And I can't wait to meet you.
- 12:45Speaker 6: Actually today I was meant to go to your event
- 12:48Speaker 6: in Molulabah, but it's been canceled because of the cyclone.
- 12:53Speaker 6: So I can't wait to meet you. On the twenty
- 12:55Speaker 6: second and yes, congratulation again, I stopped blubbering a bay, Oh.
- 13:02Speaker 1: My god, this is so exciting because that event. So
- 13:05Speaker 1: I'm recording this on the Wednesday. This episode comes out
- 13:08Speaker 1: on Friday, and then the event is on the Saturday,
- 13:11Speaker 1: so I'll see you tomorrow.
- 13:12Speaker 2: If you're listening to this, that's epic and.
- 13:17Speaker 1: Yeah that I honestly love that you can talk to
- 13:22Speaker 1: your kids about I mean, like, you know, obviously you're
- 13:24Speaker 1: not going to play well maybe you would. I don't know,
- 13:26Speaker 1: love that either way. But you know, there's a bit
- 13:28Speaker 1: of swearing and there's complex terms and whatever. But I
- 13:30Speaker 1: love so much that you can talk about these topics
- 13:34Speaker 1: with your ten year old daughter. I don't think it's
- 13:35Speaker 1: ever too young to start talking about mindset and how
- 13:40Speaker 1: you approach, you know, thinking about things, and especially growth
- 13:43Speaker 1: mindset and fixed mindset.
- 13:44Speaker 2: That's sick that they were talking about that at her school. Also,
- 13:47Speaker 2: like fucking love that so much, And I just love
- 13:51Speaker 2: that she knows that I'm the one that swears just
- 13:52Speaker 2: like you. I love that.
- 13:53Speaker 1: That's honestly. Thank you so much for sharing. It just
- 13:57Speaker 1: gives in like an insight into your lives and who
- 13:59Speaker 1: you are. And I feel like, obviously you guys see
- 14:02Speaker 1: so much about me and I share so much about me.
- 14:04Speaker 1: But it's so nice to even just like hear your voices.
- 14:07Speaker 1: I feel like your personalities come through so much, and
- 14:09Speaker 1: it's like that way of connecting with you guys. So
- 14:13Speaker 1: always send in your voice message, even if it's not
- 14:16Speaker 1: a listener question.
- 14:17Speaker 2: Please feel free to just send in a voice message whenever.
- 14:20Speaker 1: You can email it through or you can send in
- 14:22Speaker 1: a voice message through the website where you can record
- 14:25Speaker 1: like up to ninety seconds of whatever. Because I honestly
- 14:29Speaker 1: love hearing your voices. It is the coolest experience. So
- 14:33Speaker 1: thank you to everyone who you know wrote in.
- 14:37Speaker 2: I'm just you know. I love what I do.
- 14:40Speaker 1: And a big part of why I love what I
- 14:42Speaker 1: do is because of my audience, because of my community,
- 14:45Speaker 1: because of the feedback that I get from you. The
- 14:47Speaker 1: questions that you guys, you know, send in, the trust
- 14:51Speaker 1: that you put in me, the fact that you want
- 14:53Speaker 1: to hear my advice. I just love it all, and
- 14:55Speaker 1: it just makes this honestly like the best job in
- 14:59Speaker 1: the world.
- 15:00Speaker 2: At least for me, it is the best job in
- 15:02Speaker 2: the world. So I love it.
- 15:04Speaker 1: I love you guys, and we're gonna keep going for
- 15:07Speaker 1: another at least four hundred episodes, if not four hundred
- 15:10Speaker 1: thousand more.
- 15:11Speaker 2: You guys will kill me if I did four hundred
- 15:12Speaker 2: thousand episodes.
- 15:13Speaker 1: But anyway, love you guys so much. Thank you for
- 15:16Speaker 1: tuning in. This is a short, but sweet and exciting episode.
- 15:20Speaker 1: Four hundred. Oh what a milestone. I would have never
- 15:25Speaker 1: never imagined. I remember sitting on my bed in my
- 15:29Speaker 1: I was living in this sharehouse in Surrey Hills and
- 15:31Speaker 1: I was sitting on my bed and I didn't want
- 15:33Speaker 1: to like disturb my housemates. And I had this ninety
- 15:35Speaker 1: nine dollars mic like in my seven year old laptop
- 15:38Speaker 1: that was dying that always had like that circle of
- 15:40Speaker 1: that rainbow circle of death. And that's when I recorded
- 15:43Speaker 1: my first ever episode. And I probably recorded it over
- 15:45Speaker 1: like three hours, and I kept stopping and going downstairs
- 15:47Speaker 1: to eat some like gummy bears and gummy worms, but
- 15:51Speaker 1: I didn't want to bring the gummy worms up to
- 15:52Speaker 1: my bedroom because then I just eat the entire packet
- 15:54Speaker 1: and you hit rustling.
- 15:55Speaker 2: So I was like, no, I won't do that. So
- 15:57Speaker 2: it took me so long to record this EPP.
- 15:59Speaker 1: And when I finished it, I remember the next day
- 16:02Speaker 1: I was going to upload it and then I thought,
- 16:04Speaker 1: I don't know if I like that.
- 16:07Speaker 2: I think I'm going to record it again. And then I.
- 16:11Speaker 1: Was like, you're a fuck with because the episode is
- 16:14Speaker 1: about taking a leap of faith and ultimately, like part
- 16:16Speaker 1: of that episode talked about starting before you're ready, and
- 16:19Speaker 1: I am so happy that I didn't become over analytical
- 16:23Speaker 1: or too critical. I'm so happy that that's the episode
- 16:26Speaker 1: that I went with. That's what I uploaded. It was
- 16:28Speaker 1: the realest.
- 16:30Speaker 2: Form of what I wanted to say.
- 16:32Speaker 1: It was me in every way, shape and form, and
- 16:35Speaker 1: I'm just thrilled that I never second guessed myself because
- 16:37Speaker 1: had I gone and re recorded it, I think I
- 16:39Speaker 1: would have been even less happy, and I think I
- 16:41Speaker 1: would have stalled in starting the podcast.
- 16:44Speaker 2: So sometimes you've just got to do something.
- 16:46Speaker 1: It might not be perfect, but you just kind of
- 16:48Speaker 1: like think, you know what, it's as it's good.
- 16:51Speaker 2: It's as good as it's going to get for now.
- 16:53Speaker 1: I can't start getting like becoming a perfectionist one something
- 16:56Speaker 1: I've never ever done before, because you know, how am
- 16:59Speaker 1: I gonna know which one better which one's not. So
- 17:01Speaker 1: that was the episode that I rolled with. And then yeah,
- 17:04Speaker 1: if you guys are in OGB and you'd know that.
- 17:06Speaker 1: It was like I'd do one episode one week, sometimes
- 17:09Speaker 1: like could be a fortnight, then another one that I thought,
- 17:11Speaker 1: I need to have a bit of consistency here because
- 17:12Speaker 1: I'm starting to grow an audience. And then that's when
- 17:14Speaker 1: I started doing my weekly episodes. And then I think
- 17:17Speaker 1: a year and a bit in I started doing the
- 17:19Speaker 1: two episodes as well. So it's been a fucking journey.
