SPEAKER_00: A man named Widmore put it down there and he staged the whole red stage.
• 0:30
SPEAKER_00: Why would he stage it?
• 0:31
SPEAKER_00: Because he doesn't want anyone else finding where the real plane ended up except for him.
• 0:37
SPEAKER_00: I'm supposed to believe this.
• 0:43

• 1:27
SPEAKER_08: Are you still drinking the same thing from the pre-show?
• 1:30
  SPEAKER_06: Uh-huh.
• 1:30
SPEAKER_06: Because I made okay, so this is what I do with my cup.
• 1:34
SPEAKER_06: So when I go to Starbucks, if I happen to finish my cup, like as I'm putting home at my ice coffee, I keep the cup throwing in the freezer.
• 1:43
SPEAKER_06: So I got like three or four of them in the freezer.
• 1:45
SPEAKER_06: I don't my I don't have ice cube trays for some reason.
• 1:48
  SPEAKER_06: It's just not something I have.
• 1:49
  SPEAKER_06: I just anyway.
• 1:51
SPEAKER_06: So every so often, if I have like a cookout or something, I have a bag of ice.
• 1:54
SPEAKER_06: So I happen to have a little bit more, little left of a bag of ice.
• 1:56
SPEAKER_06: So I have my Venti Agnes iced coffee and put a whole lot of 99% coffee Kahlua in it.
• 2:09
SPEAKER_06: So I have like iced coffee Kahlua with some coffee in it.
• 2:13
  SPEAKER_08: Okay.
• 2:14
  SPEAKER_06: Nice.
• 2:15
  SPEAKER_08: Hold on.
• 2:16
SPEAKER_08: I completely forgot to get the bottle.
• 2:18
  SPEAKER_08: Hold on.
• 2:19
  SPEAKER_08: Oh, I'm an idiot.
• 2:21
SPEAKER_08: Do you have chips and dip for me?
• 2:25
SPEAKER_08: So I got I think I've had this before.
• 2:28
SPEAKER_08: Alex brought another bottle home.
• 2:30
  SPEAKER_08: It's LVE Signature Series.
• 2:33
SPEAKER_06: Yes, I remember you drinking that.
• 2:35
  SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
• 2:36
SPEAKER_06: Yeah, no, I know exactly what you uh what you drink because I'm a stalker.
• 2:40
  SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
• 2:40
  SPEAKER_08: Not I like it.
• 2:42
SPEAKER_08: Not necessarily a white wine girl, but um, that's what we're drinking today.
• 2:49
SPEAKER_08: So and um drinking it right out of the bottle because I'm classy.
• 2:54
  SPEAKER_06: That's how we do.
• 2:56
SPEAKER_06: Tap the bottle and twist the cap.
• 2:59
  SPEAKER_06: Okay.
• 3:00
  SPEAKER_08: It's not okay.
• 3:02
  SPEAKER_08: I mean, that's a that's a healthy.
• 3:05
SPEAKER_08: Can you see what's left?
• 3:07
SPEAKER_06: Oh, that's not that much.
• 3:08
  SPEAKER_06: That's not, yeah, it's that's not worth putting in a glass.
• 3:11
SPEAKER_06: And let's be real, what's the point of dirtying a glass if you're gonna finish the bottle anyway?
• 3:15
  SPEAKER_08: Right.
• 3:15
SPEAKER_08: I mean, I'm trying to do my part for the environment.
• 3:17
  SPEAKER_08: I'm saving water.
• 3:18
  SPEAKER_06: There you go.
• 3:19
SPEAKER_08: It's like a little less than half the bottle, so that's fine.
• 3:24
SPEAKER_08: I mean, even if it wasn't, but anyway.
• 3:27
SPEAKER_08: Um, okay, meet Kevin Johnson.
• 3:31
SPEAKER_08: So, what are your thoughts?
• 3:33
SPEAKER_08: Or do you have any thoughts before we like get into the meat of it?
• 3:39
SPEAKER_06: So, yeah, I'm highly pissed at you, Lisa.
• 3:42
SPEAKER_06: You dragged me to like all right, for everyone listening.
• 3:46
SPEAKER_06: I have to say this the podcast, Lisa's podcast idea when she dragged me into this.
• 3:52
  SPEAKER_06: I loved.
• 3:53
SPEAKER_06: I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it.
• 3:56
SPEAKER_08: We, I mean, I think I had like the the first seeds of the idea, but we grew it together.
• 4:02
SPEAKER_06: You had the seeds, you germinated the seeds, and I was just the I was just a helping hand to no, this was your baby.
• 4:10
SPEAKER_08: This is this is named this baby, okay?
• 4:13
SPEAKER_06: We both named this baby.
• 4:15
SPEAKER_06: You had listen, you had an idea and we spitballed it together.
• 4:21
SPEAKER_08: Anyway, isn't that what I just said and you said no?
• 4:24
SPEAKER_08: But like you see how she gaslights me?
• 4:27
  SPEAKER_06: We spitballed it together.
• 4:28
SPEAKER_06: You already had an idea of what you wanted it, and we anywho, uh-huh.
• 4:33
  SPEAKER_06: I love a podcast.
• 4:34
SPEAKER_06: This this was the best idea ever you've ever had.
• 4:38
SPEAKER_06: That being said, I wasn't too enthused, Elizabeth.
• 4:43
SPEAKER_05: I'm coming, fucking hate you.
• 4:49
  SPEAKER_02: Nobody's gonna understand that.
• 4:51
SPEAKER_06: No, how many listeners do we have, Lisa?
• 4:54
SPEAKER_06: I think you're the only one that actually monitor that one, two, anyway.
• 4:59
SPEAKER_06: Um, one of them might.
• 5:00
SPEAKER_06: Um, so I wasn't too enthused about the actual show, right?
• 5:04
  SPEAKER_08: I get that.
• 5:05
SPEAKER_06: That being said, this heifer has dragged me down not one and not two, but multiple rabbit holes.
• 5:12
SPEAKER_06: I am so far deep.
• 5:14
SPEAKER_06: I think I'm going to probably commit myself by the time the show is over.
• 5:19
SPEAKER_08: By the time we've you could be in Santa Rosa or Hurley.
• 5:22
  SPEAKER_08: Ah, cool.
• 5:23
SPEAKER_08: Time I might join you.
• 5:24
  SPEAKER_06: Okay, you're listening.
• 5:28
SPEAKER_06: No matter where we are, it's gonna be a good time.
• 5:30
  SPEAKER_08: I'm in.
• 5:31
SPEAKER_06: Sounds like a plan, Stan.
• 5:33
SPEAKER_06: So yeah, I'm I don't know how I feel about you right now.
• 5:36
SPEAKER_06: Dragging me down this rabbit hole of lost.
• 5:38
  SPEAKER_06: I I don't know.
• 5:39
SPEAKER_06: Our friendship is in danger.
• 5:41
  SPEAKER_06: I love it, I love it.
• 5:42
SPEAKER_06: I might have to cut you, I might have a little contact with you.
• 5:44
  SPEAKER_06: No, I'm sorry.
• 5:45
SPEAKER_06: I've been reading Reddit a lot lately.
• 5:48
SPEAKER_07: Okay, but I mean, okay, but what about the actual episode?
• 5:59
SPEAKER_06: Oh, okay, since you put it that way.
• 6:02
SPEAKER_06: Um, right, because we all talk about the episode.
• 6:04
SPEAKER_08: Um I mean, you know, all giddiness aside, because yes, but episode it was interesting, and I had some questions, like not the important questions, more like human nature questions.
• 6:21
SPEAKER_06: I'm like, what the fuck?
• 6:22
SPEAKER_06: But um, it was the one episode where I'm like, okay, it wasn't too much mental gymnastics involved.
• 6:32
SPEAKER_06: So I actually enjoyed watching it.
• 6:33
SPEAKER_06: It was it was cool.
• 6:34
SPEAKER_06: I'm like, oh, this is cool, and I give you you got the information that you wanted without giving yourself a headache.
• 6:39
SPEAKER_06: God, so for that, thank you.
• 6:42
SPEAKER_08: Okay, pretty clear cut, right?
• 6:46
SPEAKER_05: Which means the next open the next episode is gonna probably got me have me totally fucked up.
• 6:51
SPEAKER_08: Probably, and also um this episode may not be as clear-cut as you think, but I know, yeah, I mean, at least watching it, I wasn't so like oh yeah, okay.
• 7:04
SPEAKER_08: Also, we forgot, so you know, as you guys know, sometimes like we have to record episodes a little bit in advance.
• 7:12
  SPEAKER_02: Oh, day season.
• 7:19
  SPEAKER_08: Merry Christmas!
• 7:21
SPEAKER_05: I should do this now, okay.
• 7:25
SPEAKER_08: We're not recording on Christmas, but when this episode comes out, it will be Christmas.
• 7:29
SPEAKER_08: So Merry Christmas, happy holidays, all the joyous stuff you celebrate.
• 7:34
SPEAKER_08: We hope you have a great one.
• 7:35
SPEAKER_08: Um, and that is not intended to offend anybody, it's just that there are so many holidays and we don't know them all because we're not like rocket scientists like Sam, who can solve rockets right in case you in case you haven't listened to any of the below deck, Sam can solve rockets, right?
• 7:53
SPEAKER_06: Because she's a because she's too good for the job that she chose to do.
• 7:57
SPEAKER_08: Um, let's not get started.
• 7:59
SPEAKER_06: It's Christmas Eve in Hollis Queens.
• 8:01
  SPEAKER_06: Okay.
• 8:01
  SPEAKER_08: Oh, oh yeah.
• 8:02
SPEAKER_06: Mom's in the kitchen cooking collar greens.
• 8:04
  SPEAKER_06: Okay, let me stop.
• 8:05
SPEAKER_08: Anyway, Mariah Carey, Mariah Carey, what about Christmas time in Hollis?
• 8:10
  SPEAKER_06: Okay, listen.
• 8:12
SPEAKER_06: I know people like joke about it, but come on.
• 8:15
SPEAKER_08: Am I confusing the names?
• 8:16
SPEAKER_06: No, Hollis, no, it's in Hollis Queens, yeah.
• 8:19
SPEAKER_08: Right, but is it Christmas in Hollis or Christmas time in Hollis?
• 8:22
  SPEAKER_06: Christmas and Hollis.
• 8:24
SPEAKER_08: Okay, I am because there's another one where it's something Christmas time.
• 8:28
  SPEAKER_08: Okay, forget it.
• 8:29
  SPEAKER_08: Anyway, Christmas.
• 8:30
  SPEAKER_08: Oh, wait.
• 8:31
SPEAKER_08: Um, it's Christmas and Hollis, yeah.
• 8:33
SPEAKER_06: So people make fun of her, but guess what?
• 8:35
SPEAKER_06: You're making fun of her because her song hits.
• 8:37
SPEAKER_06: Because when the Christmas comes, that's what you're thinking about.
• 8:40
SPEAKER_06: Like, keep making fun of her.
• 8:42
SPEAKER_08: Well, I just not you.
• 8:43
SPEAKER_06: We'll talk about like everyone else, like the Facebook, the Facebook memes and all that other stuff, right?
• 8:47
SPEAKER_06: People keep making fun of her.
• 8:49
SPEAKER_08: You're making fun of her because you know she lives off of that song.
• 8:53
  SPEAKER_08: And thank you.
• 8:55
  SPEAKER_08: I wish I could too.
• 8:57
SPEAKER_06: Like she's laughing all the way to the bank.
• 8:59
  SPEAKER_06: Like, go ahead.
• 9:00
SPEAKER_06: Because that song when you think of Christmas, whether it's good, better, or indifferent, that song pops in your head.
• 9:05
SPEAKER_08: Yeah, a la wapper Christmas.
• 9:08
SPEAKER_08: No, it isn't it is a good song, but um, I just meant that there's a there's other songs that just don't get played nearly as much that are also good.
• 9:20
SPEAKER_06: Okay, I like well the Christmas on Christmas and Hollis does get played a lot.
• 9:27
  SPEAKER_06: That's a good one.
• 9:28
SPEAKER_06: I like Stan, I like Earth of Kids, Stanza Baby.
• 9:32
SPEAKER_06: That's like probably probably my favorite.
• 9:35
SPEAKER_06: I mean, I think I think in general, Christmas songs don't get played a lot in general.
• 9:42
SPEAKER_06: Holiday songs don't get played in general.
• 9:45
SPEAKER_08: Well, even on the holiday time, and I'm also one of those people who can only take but so much quote unquote holiday music, and I and then and I guess that's why I feel like it's it's just always a Mariah Carey song that you hear, but then there's the George Michael one, which I oh god, oh I love that song.
• 10:05
SPEAKER_02: Oh my god, what am I but okay?
• 10:12
SPEAKER_06: That's not that one, is it that one?
• 10:13
SPEAKER_06: No, that's not that one, but okay, no, that's another one.
• 10:15
SPEAKER_06: Um oh wait, it's uh the beats in my head, yeah.
• 10:20
SPEAKER_08: And then there's the um oh, it was it is it the Beatles, or is it just um Paul McCartney?
• 10:29
SPEAKER_08: But there's that one, and I like that one.
• 10:34
  SPEAKER_08: It's last Christmas.
• 10:35
  SPEAKER_06: That's that's that's what it was.
• 10:36
  SPEAKER_06: Thank you.
• 10:38
SPEAKER_06: So in my teenage years, okay, so working at Old Navy.
• 10:45
SPEAKER_06: I don't care what you say, and we have the same CD for a month that played in the store for a month.
• 10:53
SPEAKER_06: We changed it every month.
• 10:54
SPEAKER_06: Um, I worked at a multi-level store, the kids' floor had one CD, the adults floors had another CD, whatever.
• 11:02
SPEAKER_06: Anywho, they played literally the best Christmas music because it wasn't it was pop, it was it wasn't well, it's upbeat, right?
• 11:13
SPEAKER_06: It was upbeat, and it wasn't all they I think they had some of the traditional ones, especially the kids, like the kids' floor, they had Rudolph of my Dom Fain, they did all the cute stuff.
• 11:21
SPEAKER_06: But they had like the really good Christmas songs that were like you could dance to.
• 11:26
SPEAKER_06: So every time I think of all those songs, I'm like, oh my yeah, it gives me a lot of good meme good memories.
• 11:35
SPEAKER_06: So um at the end of this episode, I think we're gonna like send you off with a little bit of wham to enjoy your holidays with.
• 11:45
SPEAKER_08: I don't I don't know if we're like allowed to do that, but we could we can sing it.
• 11:49
SPEAKER_06: Yes, can I sing it?
• 11:51
SPEAKER_06: Please don't want me singing it, and I say sing it loosely, like the terminology singing is all relative when it comes to um the singing, but you like feed me buffet.
• 12:02
SPEAKER_08: Oh, yes, because I still have this fucking cough that won't go away.
• 12:07
SPEAKER_08: I am I finally took my ass to urgent care and they were useless.
• 12:12
SPEAKER_08: They were like, We've seen a lot of post-COVID bronchitis, but your lungs are clear.
• 12:19
  SPEAKER_08: Here's some here here's some medication.
• 12:22
SPEAKER_06: Translation, I don't have an answer, right?
• 12:24
SPEAKER_08: Uh and I didn't want to do further digging.
• 12:26
  SPEAKER_08: Awesome.
• 12:27
SPEAKER_08: That's good job, American healthcare system.
• 12:30
SPEAKER_08: Anyway, co-pay for the visit, co-pay for the medication later, and I'm still hacking up my lung.
• 12:39
  SPEAKER_08: But awesome.
• 12:40
SPEAKER_08: Great, could be cancer, you'd never know.
• 12:44
  SPEAKER_06: Don't start, Lisa.
• 12:45
SPEAKER_08: She's rolling her eyes at me.
• 12:46
  SPEAKER_06: Don't start, Lisa.
• 12:49
SPEAKER_08: I'm not gonna start, I'm just saying it could have been, and she never would have known.
• 13:20
SPEAKER_06: I feel like you're still trying to yeah, this is a behind the scenes conversation.
• 13:27
SPEAKER_06: And I don't I don't appreciate being blackmailed on a s what do you want for Christmas?
• 13:35
SPEAKER_08: You know what I want?
• 13:36
  SPEAKER_06: My two front teeth.
• 13:37
  SPEAKER_08: No, I got those.
• 13:38
SPEAKER_08: Um I want to go to Podfest with you.
• 13:42
SPEAKER_06: Oh, oh but see, that was just mean.
• 13:46
  SPEAKER_06: That's just mean.
• 13:47
SPEAKER_06: I told you one or two one or the other.
• 13:49
SPEAKER_08: No, no, no, no, no.
• 13:50
SPEAKER_08: We're gonna we gotta manifest good positive thoughts.
• 13:53
  SPEAKER_06: One or the other.
• 13:54
  SPEAKER_08: Okay.
• 13:55
SPEAKER_08: Let's maybe we should just talk about the episode because I think yeah, six six years later, yeah.
• 14:00
SPEAKER_06: Yeah, we've got a lot of editing to do as normal.
• 14:05
SPEAKER_06: So, question we get about an hour's worth of material, like we post about an hour's worth of material, correct?
• 14:12
SPEAKER_06: We would call for like six, seven, don't we?
• 14:19
SPEAKER_08: I'm gonna read it a little bit chronologically, but not.
• 14:24
  SPEAKER_08: Okay.
• 14:26
SPEAKER_08: On the freighter, Saeed and Desmond are awakened by a shrill alarm and run out on deck to find Captain Galt had stopped two of his men from getting on the tender by beating them up.
• 14:37
SPEAKER_08: The captain tells the crew he didn't beat the men to scare everyone, but to save everyone's lives.
• 14:43
SPEAKER_08: He says the crew should remember what happened to Brandon and Minkowski after they left the freighter.
• 14:50
SPEAKER_08: After the fight, Galt instructs crew member Johnson to clean up the mess.
• 14:56
SPEAKER_08: Said approaches him to talk, and when Michael indicates it's not a good time, Said insists on learning why Michael was on the boat.
• 15:04
SPEAKER_08: Michael answers, I'm here to die.
• 15:08
SPEAKER_08: Later, Said and Desmond find Michael and Jeff, a mechanic, working in the engine room.
• 15:15
SPEAKER_08: The pair confronts Michael about why he's on the boat.
• 15:18
SPEAKER_08: Michael asks Jeff to get a valve and proceeds to tell his story about being Ben's tool.
• 15:27
SPEAKER_08: Desmond had like, I think one line in this whole episode, if that.
• 15:35
SPEAKER_08: But but my god, his face can act.
• 15:38
SPEAKER_06: Right, right, because same thing.
• 15:40
SPEAKER_06: I would think of the same thing.
• 15:42
  SPEAKER_06: Like he had, yeah.
• 15:43
SPEAKER_06: Cause I'm doing as she's talking, I'm doing like the whole circle around my face thing because I'm like, yeah.
• 15:49
  SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
• 15:49
  SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
• 15:50
SPEAKER_08: Yeah, he like he didn't even need lines.
• 15:53
SPEAKER_08: Like that's how good he is.
• 15:56
SPEAKER_08: We get into Michael's flashback.
• 16:00
SPEAKER_08: Late at night, Michael, very distraught, sits in a rundown Manhattan apartment, scribble scribbling furiously on a scrap of paper.
• 16:09
SPEAKER_08: He leaves the building, enters his car, and pins the message he just wrote to his lapel.
• 16:15
SPEAKER_08: He turns on the radio and accelerates down the road.
• 16:19
SPEAKER_08: He careens down a pier at high speed and crashes head on into a shipping container.
• 16:25
SPEAKER_08: Michael wakes in a hospital room.
• 16:27
SPEAKER_08: A nurse enters and offers him an extra blanket.
• 16:31
SPEAKER_08: But when Michael looks at her, he recognizes her as Libby.
• 16:35
SPEAKER_08: Michael begins screaming, then wakes up and realizes his vision was not real.
• 16:41
SPEAKER_08: A nurse enters and explains that he was found badly hurt with no ID, but only a letter addressed to someone named Walt.
• 16:49
SPEAKER_08: She asks if she should call Walt, and Michael shakes his head no, too ashamed to make eye contact.
• 16:58
SPEAKER_08: Later, Michael visits his mother's home and asks to see Walt, claiming that it's his father's right.
• 17:05
SPEAKER_08: She refuses, saying that Michael gave up his rights as a father when he returned after two months missing and refused to explain where he and his son had been, returning with false names and leaving Walt in her care.
• 17:18
SPEAKER_08: She adds that Walt has had nightmares every night, and she fiercely decrees that until Michael is willing to answer for what he did to Walt to scar him so badly, he has forfeited his parenthood.
• 17:32
SPEAKER_08: Distraught, Michael leaves and sees Walt through a window.
• 17:35
SPEAKER_08: Walt returns his gaze with a mixture of complacency and contempt and shuts the blinds.
• 17:42
SPEAKER_08: Michael goes to a pawn shop and exchanges with the owner the Rolex watch Jin gave him for a gun and ammunition.
• 17:50
SPEAKER_08: He then stumbles into a back alley to commit suicide.
• 17:54
SPEAKER_08: Moments before he pulls the trigger, he is approached by a man asking for the time.
• 17:59
SPEAKER_08: Michael hides the gun from sight and begins to answer no, but it's Tom Friendly who emerges from the shadows.
• 18:07
SPEAKER_08: Do you remember Tom Friendly?
• 18:09
  SPEAKER_06: Yes.
• 18:10
  SPEAKER_06: Okay.
• 18:10
SPEAKER_08: I mean I figured you did, but just checking.
• 18:13
SPEAKER_06: Just because there's no telling what I do and don't remember.
• 18:16
SPEAKER_06: Um updating my notes and my thoughts because I have my little notes and thoughts as I'm watching it, but then like things keep popping.
• 18:24
  SPEAKER_06: My brain's working.
• 18:25
SPEAKER_06: Holy shit, my brain's working.
• 18:28
SPEAKER_06: Be scared, be baby afraid.
• 18:30
  SPEAKER_08: I can't wait.
• 18:32
  SPEAKER_08: Michael attacks him.
• 18:33
SPEAKER_08: Yeah, I'll stand by it later.
• 18:36
SPEAKER_08: Michael attacks him, and the fight ends in a stalemate as both draw guns.
• 18:41
SPEAKER_08: Michael begs Tom to shoot him, but Tom scoffs.
• 18:45
SPEAKER_08: Tom has realized that Michael was driven to commit suicide because he lost his relationship with Walt after confiding in him about Libby and Anna's murders.
• 18:55
SPEAKER_06: I have so much to say about this episode.
• 18:57
  SPEAKER_06: Okay.
• 18:58
  SPEAKER_08: Mm-hmm.
• 18:59
SPEAKER_08: Tom informs Michael that the island won't let him kill himself because Michael still has work to do, and that he will be in the penthouse suite of the hotel earl when Michael is ready to talk.
• 19:13
SPEAKER_08: A short while later in his apartment, Michael again tries to shoot himself, but the revolver misfires.
• 19:21
SPEAKER_08: As he raises the gun to try again, he is interrupted by a television news anchor reporting the discovery of the oceanic A fifteen wreck, confirming all 324 passengers dead.
• 19:34
SPEAKER_08: Confused, he goes to the penthouse suite where Tom is enjoying the company of Arturo.
• 19:40
  SPEAKER_06: Well, well, well.
• 19:41
SPEAKER_06: A little love connection going on.
• 19:43
SPEAKER_06: At least someone gets some loving.
• 19:47
  SPEAKER_08: Please see pre-show.
• 19:52
  SPEAKER_08: Or edit.
• 19:53
  SPEAKER_08: Please hear pre-show.
• 19:57
SPEAKER_08: After asking Arturo to leave, Tom explains to Michael that the wreckage was fake, staged by a man named Woodmore.
• 20:05
SPEAKER_08: To keep the others from looking in the right place where the real plane crashed.
• 20:10
  SPEAKER_08: The island.
• 20:12
SPEAKER_08: Every time it is now.
• 20:13
  SPEAKER_08: Uh-huh.
• 20:14
  SPEAKER_06: But okay, I see.
• 20:19
  SPEAKER_06: Yes, I'm too.
• 20:20
SPEAKER_06: I told you so danced.
• 20:21
SPEAKER_06: Because it's the what you don't tell me, Woodmore had nothing to do with this freighter at all.
• 20:26
SPEAKER_08: I'm gonna I'm gonna ask you some questions, like after this episode.
• 20:30
SPEAKER_08: Because I'm not saying that you're wrong, and I'm not saying that you're right.
• 20:34
SPEAKER_08: I'm just saying that these are questions that I had when I watched, and I'm not gonna tell you if I was right or wrong.
• 20:40
SPEAKER_06: But I just know for a fact, like six episodes ago, like Whit was involved with this boat.
• 20:45
  SPEAKER_06: Someway, somehow he's involved.
• 20:48
  SPEAKER_08: I told you something.
• 20:51
SPEAKER_08: Okay, but does the being involved in the boat mean you're involved in the cover-up?
• 20:59
SPEAKER_04: I just it's not the crime that gets you in trouble, is the cover-up.
• 21:03
SPEAKER_04: Um once again, you gotta be old enough to get that reference.
• 21:08
SPEAKER_06: Um I just know he's an yeah, uh don't make me doubt myself.
• 21:16
SPEAKER_06: Okay, okay, but go ahead.
• 21:18
SPEAKER_06: You but you're just mad that I was doing my my my little dance.
• 21:21
SPEAKER_08: Well, I like your little dance.
• 21:22
SPEAKER_08: I just you know the reason behind my dance.
• 21:25
  SPEAKER_08: Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 21:27
SPEAKER_08: Woodmore wants to keep the island for himself and will kill everyone on it if he isn't stopped.
• 21:32
SPEAKER_08: With Michael's help, Widmore's freighter, the Kahana, will be stopped, and Michael's co-survivors on the island can be saved.
• 21:40
  SPEAKER_08: Michael asks for proof.
• 21:43
  SPEAKER_08: And Tom what?
• 21:46
SPEAKER_06: So if we ask for proof, and then one, he conveniently had it.
• 21:50
SPEAKER_06: I mean, he can have it to prove like he probably would anyone can say, Yeah, he's gonna want proof and have proof, but all proof can be manipulated, no matter what.
• 22:03
SPEAKER_06: Back to my hat, my my you taking away my happy dance.
• 22:07
SPEAKER_06: But it's something I thought about as I'm watching the episode.
• 22:10
  SPEAKER_06: Shut up, Lisa.
• 22:12
SPEAKER_08: Michael asked for proof, and Tom shows him a file with documents showing exhumed graves in Thailand and a purchase order from Whidmore's company for an old Boeing 777 plane.
• 22:23
SPEAKER_08: Tom tells Michael he has.
• 22:25
SPEAKER_08: Has a job on the freighter and his alias will be Kevin Johnson.
• 22:29
SPEAKER_08: Then hands him a US passport.
• 22:32
SPEAKER_08: Michael questions why he should go back to work for you people.
• 22:36
SPEAKER_08: Tom sells it as his only opportunity to redeem him redeem himself for what he did.
• 22:43
SPEAKER_08: He reassures Michael that he won't actually be going back to the island.
• 22:47
SPEAKER_08: His mission will be to get on the boat and kill everyone on board.
• 22:51
  SPEAKER_08: Easy peasy.
• 22:52
  SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
• 22:53
SPEAKER_08: Like, oh, that's all I have to do?
• 22:55
  SPEAKER_08: No problem.
• 22:55
  SPEAKER_08: What the fuck?
• 22:57
SPEAKER_08: While boarding the freighter at the port of Suva, Fiji, Michael meets Minkowski and Naomi.
• 23:04
SPEAKER_08: Naomi tells him that he received a crate that would be delivered to his room.
• 23:10
SPEAKER_08: He then meets Miles, who says he knows that Kevin is not his real name, but doesn't pursue the theme further, saying 80% of the people on the freighter lie about something.
• 23:21
SPEAKER_08: We're gonna talk about that too.
• 23:23
  SPEAKER_08: Who's lying and why?
• 23:25
  SPEAKER_06: I think everyone's lying.
• 23:26
  SPEAKER_06: Could people lie?
• 23:27
  SPEAKER_08: What 80%?
• 23:29
  SPEAKER_06: That's I think that's I think he under he underballed it.
• 23:33
SPEAKER_06: This close to like 99.
• 23:35
SPEAKER_08: Michael begins to have second thoughts about killing everyone on board now that he has put some faces with names, but a phone call from Tom reminds him to follow through if he wants to save the remaining survivors living on the island.
• 23:49
SPEAKER_08: When the ship is underway, Frank introduces himself to Michael.
• 23:53
SPEAKER_08: After Michael says he's looking for an adventure, Frank shares his belief that the oceanic A fifteen wreckage was a huge fake, similar to the way people believe the moon landing was faked, but real.
• 24:06
SPEAKER_08: Frank says that Charles Whidmore is interested in finding the wreckage, well the real wreckage, and discovering what happened to the passengers with the hope of rescuing them.
• 24:19
  SPEAKER_08: Exactly.
• 24:20
SPEAKER_08: Somebody no telling the truth.
• 24:22
  SPEAKER_08: Exactly.
• 24:24
SPEAKER_08: Days later, at sea, Michael hears guns being fired.
• 24:27
SPEAKER_08: He goes to the deck and sees Omar and Kimi, amongst others, laughing while Target practicing with machine guns.
• 24:34
SPEAKER_08: Shocked to discover this, Michael says he thought this was supposed to be a rescue mission, but Kimi only brushes off the remark.
• 24:42
SPEAKER_08: Back in his room, Michael opens his crate and finds a case in it.
• 24:47
SPEAKER_08: He takes the case to the engine room and finds a bomb inside.
• 24:50
SPEAKER_08: Michael inputs a combination for the bomb, but hesitates to push the execute button to set off the bomb.
• 24:57
SPEAKER_08: Suddenly he hears the same Mama Cast song he was listening to in the car when he tried to commit suicide.
• 25:04
SPEAKER_08: He sees another version of Libby, who tells him not to do it.
• 25:09
SPEAKER_08: He also hears the whispers.
• 25:12
SPEAKER_08: She disappears, and Michael says, I love you, Walt, and pushes the button.
• 25:17
SPEAKER_08: The bomb's 15-second timer expires, but the bomb doesn't explode.
• 25:21
SPEAKER_08: Instead, a flag pops up with the note around it which reads, Not yet.
• 25:25
SPEAKER_08: So apparently this was bought from like the Looney Tunes Acme shop.
• 25:29
  unknown: Okay.
• 25:33
SPEAKER_08: It was like the Wily Coyote's fucking leftovers.
• 25:37
SPEAKER_08: Um later, Menkowski tells Michael he has a phone call from the mainland from a person named Walt.
• 25:44
SPEAKER_08: Turns out that Walt is actually Ben phoning from his house at the barracks.
• 25:49
SPEAKER_08: We see, you know, in that like little creepy room, his 007 room.
• 25:56
SPEAKER_08: Ben informs Michael that there are innocent people on the freighter and that the plan was never to kill them all.
• 26:02
SPEAKER_08: Because Ben isn't that kind of person.
• 26:05
SPEAKER_08: I knew your face was gonna do something.
• 26:11
  SPEAKER_06: There's a reason I don't play poker.
• 26:14
SPEAKER_08: He says he gave the fake bomb to Michael to show that, unlike Whidmore, he does not want to kill innocence.
• 26:20
SPEAKER_08: Ben then orders Michael to get him a list of everyone on board, report the list back to him, and then disable both the radio and engine so that the ship cannot get to the island.
• 26:31
SPEAKER_08: Michael is obviously shaken up, but Ben tells him that he can now consider himself one of the good guys.
• 26:40
SPEAKER_08: Oh well, if you have Ben's stamp of approval, then I can't.
• 26:42
SPEAKER_06: I mean, then since he says so, it has to be.
• 26:45
SPEAKER_06: So how many of us believe that Ben wasn't proving a point, but he was using manipulation to prove uh to push a narrative that worked in his favor?
• 26:55
  SPEAKER_06: Say I.
• 26:56
  SPEAKER_08: I okay.
• 27:00
SPEAKER_08: When he's finished, Said asks him if he is truly working for Benjamin Linus.
• 27:06
  SPEAKER_08: Michael confirms this.
• 27:09
SPEAKER_08: Said grabs Michael and drags him into Captain Galt's room, revealing Michael's true identity as a saboteur, a spy, a traitor, and a survivor of Oceanic A-15.
• 27:21
SPEAKER_08: Any you were you like, what the fuck, Said?
• 27:24
  SPEAKER_08: Or no?
• 27:25
  SPEAKER_08: Okay.
• 27:26
SPEAKER_08: Or you want to wait till the end?
• 27:28
  SPEAKER_08: What do you want?
• 27:29
SPEAKER_06: Let's push to the end and I hit all my points.
• 27:31
  SPEAKER_08: Okay.
• 27:32
SPEAKER_06: Or do or we could just go off a tangent throughout the episode.
• 27:35
SPEAKER_06: Whatever you want me to do.
• 27:36
SPEAKER_08: Well, yeah, I mean, my only thought was like, why, like, you know, what would Saeed's thought process be for doing that?
• 27:46
SPEAKER_06: Okay, so do I know his thought process?
• 27:49
SPEAKER_06: No, but I do know, and I hate saying this because it's overused, but it's applicable while everyone's playing chess.
• 27:56
SPEAKER_06: This dude literally is no, when everyone's playing checkers, he's really is playing chess.
• 28:00
SPEAKER_08: You're talking about who, Ben or Saeed?
• 28:02
SPEAKER_06: Said okay, so him like turning in Michael, there's something because he has a plan.
• 28:07
  SPEAKER_06: He has something.
• 28:07
  SPEAKER_06: I don't know what it is.
• 28:08
  SPEAKER_06: I can't there's a reason to his madness.
• 28:12
  SPEAKER_06: Okay, I believe that.
• 28:14
  SPEAKER_08: Yeah, that was it.
• 28:15
SPEAKER_08: I just wanted to ask you, like, what yeah.
• 28:18
SPEAKER_08: All right, we're gonna go to the island now.
• 28:22
SPEAKER_08: On the island, lock holds a meeting with everyone at the barracks.
• 28:27
SPEAKER_06: Okay, this is season four.
• 28:30
SPEAKER_06: We've done like 101 billion episodes thus far, and still, I don't care.
• 28:35
SPEAKER_06: Every time you say on the island, I hear in the jungle.
• 28:42
SPEAKER_06: In the jungle, the mighty jungle.
• 28:44
  SPEAKER_06: Yeah, I know I haven't a minute.
• 28:46
SPEAKER_06: It's been a minute, but I just want you to know I'm still hearing that in my head.
• 28:52
  SPEAKER_08: Hold on, I need a minute.
• 28:56
SPEAKER_08: No, it's stuck in my head.
• 29:00
  SPEAKER_08: You're welcome.
• 29:01
SPEAKER_08: Let's take a drink, clear the brain.
• 29:04
SPEAKER_06: Let's have a drink to clear our brain.
• 29:07
  SPEAKER_06: That sounds about right.
• 29:09
SPEAKER_08: I'm not fucked up enough yet.
• 29:12
  SPEAKER_08: On the island.
• 29:15
SPEAKER_08: Okay, they can show you you're not gonna laugh.
• 29:18
SPEAKER_08: Locke holds a meeting with everyone at the barracks to share information.
• 29:22
SPEAKER_08: Miles confirms the people from the freighter are after Ben.
• 29:27
SPEAKER_08: Sawyer suggests they just turn Ben over to the freighter people.
• 29:31
SPEAKER_08: Ben says the orders of the freighter people are to capture him, then kill everyone else on the island, and Miles does not deny it.
• 29:39
SPEAKER_08: Later, Ben persuades Alex to go to a location he calls the temple with Carl and Danielle and tells her that the rest of the others are already there.
• 29:51
SPEAKER_08: So maybe that explains where Harper was?
• 29:54
  SPEAKER_06: Ah, Harper, right.
• 29:57
SPEAKER_08: He provides them with the map.
• 29:59
SPEAKER_08: Ben tells Alex she's in danger because the people who are coming to the island will use her to get to him.
• 30:05
SPEAKER_08: He assures her that her mother will protect them.
• 30:09
SPEAKER_08: Sometime into their journey, Danielle, Alex, and Carl take a break.
• 30:14
SPEAKER_08: Sudden gunfire erupts from the jungle and Carl is shot in the chest.
• 30:19
SPEAKER_08: Danielle and Alex hide behind a tree and quickly decide they need to make a run for it.
• 30:23
SPEAKER_08: They get to their feet, but Danielle is immediately hit by gunfire and falls to the ground.
• 30:29
SPEAKER_08: Alex sits down hiding behind a tree.
• 30:31
SPEAKER_08: After looking for several seconds at the movement among the grasses surrounding her, Alex stands up, puts her hands in the air, and yells, I'm Ben's daughter.
• 30:41
SPEAKER_08: And with that, the episode ends.
• 30:45
SPEAKER_06: Okay, side note, I feel like the synopsis that we're reading this episode is a lot quicker than normal.
• 30:50
SPEAKER_06: Maybe because I didn't interrupt you every five minutes.
• 30:52
SPEAKER_08: No, I think it's also because uh the majority of it is like flashback, so it just seemed more like linear.
• 31:00
SPEAKER_06: And maybe that's what it is.
• 31:01
  SPEAKER_06: I'm like, wow, really?
• 31:02
  SPEAKER_06: I feel like okay.
• 31:05
SPEAKER_06: Yeah, it was it was a lot of like you know, like I think it goes back to the whole like straight to the point.
• 31:11
SPEAKER_08: Yeah, right, right, right, right.
• 31:13
  SPEAKER_06: Less nuance.
• 31:15
  SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
• 31:16
SPEAKER_06: Okay, we go with that.
• 31:18
SPEAKER_06: Okay, oh that we're just a little tipsy and fucked up right now.
• 31:21
SPEAKER_06: So time is con is a social construct, and we're paying no mind to it.
• 31:24
  SPEAKER_08: Time is relative.
• 31:25
  SPEAKER_08: We're we're dealing with island time.
• 31:27
  SPEAKER_08: Who knows?
• 31:28
  SPEAKER_08: It's day, it's night, it's six days, it's five days.
• 31:31
  SPEAKER_06: It's a parallel universe.
• 31:32
SPEAKER_08: It's Christmas! Well, it's right after Christmas, actually, I guess.
• 31:37
SPEAKER_08: Right, right, it's like the end of December.
• 31:40
SPEAKER_08: So we're we're almost there, except you know, only like 20 years in the future.
• 31:47
SPEAKER_06: I feel like we are now part of the lost episodes where the earth changes its axis and this revolution around.
• 31:56
SPEAKER_06: Now, don't tell me that my little thing doesn't make sense.
• 32:00
SPEAKER_08: It does, it does, but only I can see it.
• 32:02
SPEAKER_08: So everyone else is like, what the fuck is wrong with her notes?
• 32:06
  SPEAKER_06: You know what?
• 32:06
SPEAKER_06: And there is a way for you to see my reenactment of the earth changes the sign.
• 32:11
SPEAKER_08: Well, not this time around.
• 32:13
SPEAKER_06: How many times have I done it?
• 32:15
SPEAKER_08: No, I know, but we're not we're not like recording the video.
• 32:19
SPEAKER_08: But we'll have to do we have to remember to do that.
• 32:22
SPEAKER_08: But we will, I think we should.
• 32:25
SPEAKER_08: I'm gonna have to get back into that.
• 32:27
SPEAKER_08: I was having a problem with the Patreon.
• 32:29
SPEAKER_08: Well, you know, but uh in case the listeners don't know, like I was having an issue with the Patreon, and it was giving me a really hard time to what the mat what's the matter?
• 32:40
SPEAKER_06: I just had a this is like you put this to some music.
• 32:45
  SPEAKER_08: Oh, it's like a TikTok, it's like a reason.
• 32:48
  SPEAKER_08: Okay, sorry.
• 32:49
SPEAKER_08: Okay, we gotta do that.
• 32:50
SPEAKER_08: Um yeah, I was having an issue with the Patreon, and I got it fixed a couple of weeks ago.
• 32:56
SPEAKER_08: So hopefully, um, for those of you who are there, you have you know, you you kind of like have your issues resolved.
• 33:04
SPEAKER_08: So if not, just reach out.
• 33:06
SPEAKER_06: But yeah, we have to find a way to get the video of my exes charade's reenactment.
• 33:14
SPEAKER_06: Um yeah, because it makes sense if you think about it.
• 33:17
SPEAKER_08: I mean have your daughter record a video of you doing that and then send it to me and I'll put it into a TikTok.
• 33:22
  SPEAKER_06: And you know what?
• 33:23
SPEAKER_06: She's gonna be like, What the fuck?
• 33:25
SPEAKER_08: My daughter's like, Oh, but your phone does like that weird ghost shit where it follows you, so you can just do that.
• 33:33
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I can do that, yeah.
• 33:38
SPEAKER_08: Yeah, and then you just record yourself doing this, and people are gonna be like, Is she drunk?
• 33:42
  SPEAKER_08: Is she high?
• 33:42
SPEAKER_08: Is she at a rave?
• 33:43
SPEAKER_08: Oh no, she's just talking about the space-time continuum.
• 33:47
SPEAKER_06: Parallel universe, space-time continuum, it's a combination, you know.
• 33:51
SPEAKER_06: So it's a parallel universe, I believe, you know, and then you have the space-time continuum caused by the change of the earth's axis and his revolution around the sun.
• 34:06
  SPEAKER_06: Science.
• 34:10
  SPEAKER_08: It's like nailed it.
• 34:14
  SPEAKER_08: Science.
• 34:15
  SPEAKER_08: That's just gonna that's it.
• 34:16
  SPEAKER_08: That's the word now.
• 34:17
SPEAKER_08: Instead of nailed it, we're just gonna be like science.
• 34:21
  SPEAKER_09: Science.
• 34:22
  SPEAKER_06: Science.
• 34:23
SPEAKER_06: Oh, by the way, it I can't record with that thing.
• 34:26
SPEAKER_06: I could do like video chats with like that, like video calls with this.
• 34:30
SPEAKER_06: So maybe you can record me if I video call you with it.
• 34:34
SPEAKER_08: Oh, I could do, yeah, I could probably do like a screen.
• 34:37
  SPEAKER_08: I'll I'll have to see.
• 34:38
  SPEAKER_06: Yeah, we'll try it.
• 34:40
SPEAKER_08: Okay, we'll have to play around with that.
• 34:42
SPEAKER_06: Okay, I'm I have okay, so you want to do some my thoughts.
• 34:49
SPEAKER_08: Some like notes and some trivia, and then I think we're gonna hit those some of those points.
• 34:55
SPEAKER_08: Or do you want to talk about you wanna talk about your your notes first?
• 34:59
SPEAKER_06: One thing that's okay, so as I'm watching each episode, I'm still trying to think about the Oceania 6.
• 35:08
SPEAKER_06: And as I'm watching it, because it was pretty much of a streamlined episode, I was thinking about past episodes.
• 35:16
SPEAKER_06: And episode one of the season, when they had the flash where the flash, well, we know it's a flash forward, and Jack goes to the funeral, no one shows up.
• 35:26
SPEAKER_06: He then he goes to tell Kate, we gotta go back to the island.
• 35:30
SPEAKER_06: Now, I think that flash forward is further in the future than the current flash forwards we're watching since then.
• 35:42
SPEAKER_06: The the flash forwards we've been watching now are relatively closer there.
• 35:49
SPEAKER_08: Relative like shortly after they returned to the island, right?
• 35:58
SPEAKER_06: Right, because obviously the flash forward with Kate was in doing her trial, that obviously happened before we gotta go back flash forward.
• 36:10
  SPEAKER_08: Okay, okay.
• 36:10
SPEAKER_08: So then so then the the Jack saying we have to go back, Kate, at the airport is like the furthest flash forward that we've seen so far.
• 36:19
  SPEAKER_06: Yes, okay.
• 36:20
SPEAKER_06: So with that in mind, so we know Kate already had Aaron with her during her trial.
• 36:29
SPEAKER_06: And she already had Aaron.
• 36:33
SPEAKER_06: So I think remember, I was like, well, maybe that the the funerals for Claire, maybe that's how she ended up.
• 36:39
SPEAKER_06: That doesn't line up, so it can't be Claire because that's like the trial with Aaron happened, let's say on a Monday.
• 36:45
SPEAKER_06: Because you guys, because no one else can see the flash forward with the with the um at the airport happened like the following Sunday.
• 36:53
SPEAKER_06: So obviously with the funeral and stuff.
• 36:55
SPEAKER_08: So to have enough time for Jack to have like his full beard, also, right?
• 37:00
SPEAKER_06: So I don't think I don't think the funeral after them getting back was Claire.
• 37:07
SPEAKER_06: I think Claire dies before they land, before they got saved.
• 37:12
  SPEAKER_08: So that's a very good argument.
• 37:15
  SPEAKER_06: Thank you.
• 37:15
SPEAKER_08: Like that is really, really good reasoning.
• 37:18
  SPEAKER_06: Why thank you?
• 37:19
  SPEAKER_06: I um thank you.
• 37:20
  SPEAKER_06: Thank you very much.
• 37:22
  SPEAKER_08: I appreciate that.
• 37:23
SPEAKER_08: So it could mean nothing, but it's like excellent fucking detective work.
• 37:28
SPEAKER_08: This is I think this is why those that guy in the Lamborghini picked us up to help solve his problem.
• 37:32
SPEAKER_06: Because you're Sherlock, and I know Shadowvis.
• 37:35
  SPEAKER_08: Oh, that's right.
• 37:36
SPEAKER_08: We forgot to introduce ourselves.
• 37:38
SPEAKER_08: Yeah, no one does better internet research than we do.
• 37:40
SPEAKER_08: Okay, we solved two mysteries this week.
• 37:46
  SPEAKER_08: Oh, the the ring.
• 37:48
SPEAKER_08: Yes, and uh and the uh yeah, too the place right, but that was about a certain event.
• 37:56
SPEAKER_06: So that was your Sherlock Holmes, definitely like way.
• 38:00
SPEAKER_08: I was your Watson to your Sherlock Sherlock Holmes and my Nosodamas was was the the weird shit.
• 38:07
SPEAKER_06: Like you see an accident, but no one reports it, and then a week later the accident happened, another accident happened, the same place, same time of day.
• 38:18
SPEAKER_08: But I have I think that my theory on what actually happened made a whole lot of fucking sense, and I feel like you really just didn't give me credit for my thoughts.
• 38:27
SPEAKER_06: I think like I said, no, I think that made your idea made perfect sense, but the fact that I could see it was really I don't know if I buy that.
• 38:37
SPEAKER_06: So the phenomenon makes sense.
• 38:39
SPEAKER_08: What what I said, okay, and you know, I guess you could tell me if you think I'm fucking crazy too, is that she saw an accident, but it was never like reported on any news channels on like the next door app, like you know, the neighborhood scanner that posted everything, right?
• 38:58
  SPEAKER_06: I didn't see it anywhere.
• 38:59
SPEAKER_08: But according to you, it looked like a pretty bad accident.
• 39:03
SPEAKER_08: So okay, she was like, it's very weird, and then and she told me about it and like when it happened, but then now you're saying that there was another accident there, but it turns out that it's in front of a church.
• 39:20
SPEAKER_06: Yeah, it's on the intersection.
• 39:24
SPEAKER_08: What what makes it say you can see it because I've hear like you know, I said it was that there's like unresolved souls that are there and they're just at the church waiting for whatever they I don't know, what whatever they need in order to move on.
• 39:42
  SPEAKER_06: And I put and I and I co-signed that.
• 39:44
  SPEAKER_08: Right.
• 39:44
SPEAKER_08: But you said that it's weird that you could see it, but haven't you ever heard about ghost stories where they see like a car and it's not real?
• 39:50
SPEAKER_08: It's just you know, so but maybe maybe you can see it because you're Nostradamus, and that's just how come you can see it, but it's not real, only you could see it.
• 40:00
SPEAKER_08: That's how come nobody else knew.
• 40:02
SPEAKER_06: I mean, okay, so this but the the accident that no one else okay, so the car in front of me veered around.
• 40:09
SPEAKER_06: Okay, so this accident that I first saw, it was after the accident before emergency services arrived.
• 40:18
SPEAKER_06: So the car, like it was like we weren't blocked off, but the cars, all the cars going down the street veered around it, like holy shit, only you know, we're all veering around it.
• 40:29
SPEAKER_06: Um, see, when I came back home, I went down a parallel street to avoid what I know was going to be a blocked-off street.
• 40:35
SPEAKER_06: And yeah, I can see the ambulance and the fire department and the cops all going to that area and blocking off streets.
• 40:41
SPEAKER_06: So I know it happened, damn it.
• 40:44
SPEAKER_06: Um, but the odds that, okay, so the second accident, I call it a second accident.
• 40:50
SPEAKER_06: Lisa thinks it's the first actual accident.
• 40:52
SPEAKER_06: She thinks I'm just seeing shit.
• 40:53
SPEAKER_06: But if I'm just seeing shit, why will other cars be around it?
• 40:56
SPEAKER_06: Why would they just say go through it?
• 40:57
  SPEAKER_06: Okay.
• 40:58
SPEAKER_08: Maybe you manifested it like Bruce Almighty.
• 41:00
  SPEAKER_06: Okay.
• 41:01
SPEAKER_06: Anyhow, but also this street is known for stupid teenagers and young adults.
• 41:08
SPEAKER_06: I use adults loosely, um, speeding down the street.
• 41:13
SPEAKER_06: Also, it's funny, church at night.
• 41:17
SPEAKER_06: I think they, I mean, it the odds are that they may have a they may have AA meetings there.
• 41:22
SPEAKER_06: Just the odds, you know.
• 41:25
SPEAKER_06: Because both of them happen like after eight at night.
• 41:28
SPEAKER_06: So I'm like, okay, so the odds that you have a street that's known for stupid people speeding down it, you have an intersection where there's a stream of people coming out.
• 41:41
SPEAKER_06: The odds are that it it could happen twice in two weeks, although one was never I couldn't find it anywhere.
• 41:49
SPEAKER_08: Um, I think you were just seeing the future and even the cars that were swerving.
• 41:57
SPEAKER_08: I think that was like your future vision, that's all.
• 42:00
  SPEAKER_08: Because I don't know.
• 42:03
SPEAKER_06: I mean, to your point, I do have to I have to admit to myself, I have an excellent sense of people.
• 42:13
SPEAKER_06: I'm pretty good with pulling out the vibes and like yeah, no.
• 42:17
SPEAKER_06: Um, to the point where if I think I'm proven wrong, I'm I get mad at myself for being wrong.
• 42:25
SPEAKER_08: Although Lisa would tell you I wasn't wrong, but um, I wasn't you were just like a week too early.
• 42:34
  SPEAKER_05: A week too early.
• 42:35
SPEAKER_05: So thus I am now Notre Dameist, and Lisa, my co-host, is Sherlock Holmes.
• 42:41
SPEAKER_08: Yes, nice to meet you.
• 42:43
SPEAKER_06: Welcome to our new podcast.
• 42:46
SPEAKER_08: That I can do from a few of a little bit of research on Facebook and Instagram, and then she does that.
• 42:53
SPEAKER_04: I will I totally get into the whole like um I'm all about seeacapping, I'm all about um looking up criminal records, I'm all about doing national searches, I'm okay.
• 43:07
SPEAKER_08: And and you have found some very important information to do that.
• 43:10
  SPEAKER_06: So, I mean I can't, we're a hot mess.
• 43:15
SPEAKER_06: I just I swear to god, if more women ran our legal, like our like law enforcement bureaus and agencies and our intelligence agencies, I think the United States would be a force to be fucking reckoned with.
• 43:31
SPEAKER_06: I think as a country, we failed because we have too many men in power.
• 43:36
SPEAKER_08: And imagine if there were like, okay, we need we we are hiring people for like um the CIA and like the NSA, but the only applicants that we need to apply are women who have been cheated on.
• 43:54
SPEAKER_08: What you said, you know what happened?
• 43:56
SPEAKER_06: I mean you know that old joke, it's not a joke, but it's kind of fucked up.
• 44:01
SPEAKER_06: You would have told so and so that her man with was was hanging out with Osam bin Laden in his cave, they would have found him 10 years before they did.
• 44:10
SPEAKER_08: I'm just saying exactly, exactly and and the one he was hanging out in his cave with.
• 44:18
SPEAKER_06: Like, what you can't go nowhere, and I can't find you.
• 44:22
SPEAKER_06: I'm sorry, I'm not gonna lie, like listen.
• 44:25
SPEAKER_06: So wait, you know what the funny thing is?
• 44:27
SPEAKER_06: As I'm thinking about our like mystery, like like how do we end up on the freighter?
• 44:34
  SPEAKER_06: I keep calling a freighter, a freighter.
• 44:36
SPEAKER_06: I keep saying freighter, freight, freightered.
• 44:40
  SPEAKER_06: There's a hospital freighter.
• 44:42
SPEAKER_06: It's and sounds very similar.
• 44:44
SPEAKER_06: That's why I keep like sleeping in and out.
• 44:46
  SPEAKER_08: I don't know.
• 44:46
  SPEAKER_08: I I didn't notice the difference, but okay.
• 44:49
SPEAKER_06: And the whole like get in, we gotta go, like whatever.
• 44:53
SPEAKER_06: There was a time where, like, not literally, but figuratively, Lisa did pull up on me and like bitch get in the car.
• 45:01
SPEAKER_06: We got places to go.
• 45:03
SPEAKER_06: And I was like, Bet, no questions asked.
• 45:07
  SPEAKER_08: That is 100% true.
• 45:09
SPEAKER_06: So, my little whole my the outlandish version, not so outlandish.
• 45:15
SPEAKER_06: I've been in that position before.
• 45:17
  SPEAKER_08: I mean, just with you, I don't think it's that outlandish.
• 45:19
SPEAKER_08: I think the the fact that like some random guy in a Lamborghini is the one who's pulling up on you, outlandish part.
• 45:26
SPEAKER_08: Get it, and not some fat guy in like a uh a home day, he's undercover, right?
• 45:37
SPEAKER_08: The Lamborghini is too flashy for us.
• 45:40
  SPEAKER_04: I'm sorry, such a fucking mess.
• 45:46
  SPEAKER_08: It's still a great story, though.
• 45:48
SPEAKER_08: I think June would be proud of you.
• 45:50
SPEAKER_04: By June, the magical bra and a bicycle.
• 45:53
  SPEAKER_04: That shit was hysterical.
• 45:54
  SPEAKER_08: Doesn't everyone though?
• 45:56
  SPEAKER_06: I mean Michael.
• 45:59
SPEAKER_06: Yeah, who the fuck tells a 10-year-old that kind of shit?
• 46:02
  SPEAKER_06: Are you that weak-minded?
• 46:04
SPEAKER_06: I always told you he was weak and pussy ash.
• 46:06
SPEAKER_06: Like, I didn't like like I think he, I mean, absolutely have love for his for his son, but he was always weak.
• 46:14
  SPEAKER_06: I hate a weak-minded person.
• 46:17
SPEAKER_08: Yeah, oh yeah um, but I'm gonna play devil's advocate and just say that from the little bit that we knew, he obviously had a lot of struggle.
• 46:28
SPEAKER_08: He wanted nothing more than to be a father, but he didn't know how.
• 46:31
SPEAKER_08: And then, you know, his opportunity was it wasn't taken from him, but it was, in the sense of like, we know we she didn't forbid him from seeing, but she took the kid to another country, they were well off.
• 46:44
SPEAKER_08: He was clearly not, and it put up it put up a very big barrier, like sh knowing that his financial situation, how could he travel overseas?
• 46:58
SPEAKER_08: She never even said, like, right?
• 47:00
SPEAKER_08: It wasn't like, oh, let me know when you want to come, I'll be glad to send you a ticket, or I'll send him, I'll send Walt over.
• 47:06
SPEAKER_08: So that they had a very strange relationship.
• 47:08
SPEAKER_08: By the time he got thrown back into being a father, he didn't know how.
• 47:14
SPEAKER_06: And I feel like he He just didn't know how to be an adult.
• 47:17
  SPEAKER_06: It's nothing about being a father.
• 47:19
SPEAKER_06: You have any adult would know you don't tell a 10-year-old that.
• 47:23
SPEAKER_08: I know, but all I'm saying is that in the grand scheme of it, in the show, right?
• 47:31
SPEAKER_08: Under the blanket of the show, he had this crazy intense, literally, like get your son back on Monday, and then crash landing on your crash landing on an island.
• 47:45
SPEAKER_08: So, like, you're having this crazy event, you're you're still having these struggles with your kid, where it's like you and him are the only ones that you got, except you don't know each other, and you're dealing with a fucking crazy ass island, and then the kid gets kidnapped, and you come back together, and then you get apart again, and then you want your kid so bad that you're gonna shoot two people in order to do it just to get back with your kid, and then but then you tell him that, but then right, but then it's like, but is it because whatever kind of crazy trauma that they've both had, and Walter said, like, that they were doing like tests on him, so who knows in the context of the show, right?
• 48:33
SPEAKER_08: Because like I still think it's crazy, period.
• 48:37
  SPEAKER_08: No, I get it.
• 48:38
SPEAKER_08: We just supposed to get it, like, yeah, that's a fucking fucked up thing that you did, but look at all the fucked up shit that that just them two have had to go through in two months of being together.
• 48:51
  SPEAKER_06: I think I know you're playing devil's advocate, right?
• 48:55
SPEAKER_06: But I think you just prove the point even harder.
• 48:57
SPEAKER_06: Okay, you do what you can do because of all the fucked up shit this kid has gone through.
• 49:02
SPEAKER_06: You want to protect him as much as possible.
• 49:05
SPEAKER_06: And I don't think because there was a lot of situations where we talk about that we whether we agree or disagree, we both see I can understand.
• 49:15
SPEAKER_06: I don't agree with it, but I can understand it.
• 49:17
  SPEAKER_06: Right.
• 49:18
SPEAKER_06: This situation is not it's one of those like I I can't other than being a weak-minded person, and I feel like I think that's what I keep calling her Camille because that's the same actress I played Camille on Bones.
• 49:32
  SPEAKER_06: So I can't think I don't know the characters, Susan.
• 49:35
SPEAKER_06: I think she saw that.
• 49:37
SPEAKER_06: No, now don't get me wrong, I don't think keeping him from his father was the right move.
• 49:44
  SPEAKER_06: Because he's not a bad man, he's not a bad person.
• 49:47
SPEAKER_06: So I don't think that was right at all.
• 49:50
SPEAKER_03: But I this is one of the situations I see she she saw that weakness in him where you're taking care of he yeah, okay, yeah, yeah, dumped it on fucking telatinuous.
• 50:04
  SPEAKER_03: You kill people.
• 50:05
  SPEAKER_03: This what the fuck?
• 50:06
SPEAKER_06: Maybe maybe because let's say this happened, like them getting off and them and him and like this him telling the stories.
• 50:16
SPEAKER_06: What a couple of months, like a month, like like two months, because they were on the island for two months before they got free.
• 50:24
SPEAKER_06: They were gone for two, like, because his mother was like, You've been gone for two months.
• 50:27
SPEAKER_06: They landed in September, October, November.
• 50:29
  SPEAKER_06: This is now December.
• 50:31
SPEAKER_08: Oh, so yeah, so it would have been it was only a month, let's say, between they've been off the island.
• 50:36
  SPEAKER_06: Off the island.
• 50:37
  SPEAKER_06: Okay.
• 50:38
SPEAKER_06: So you're trying to tell me in a you didn't give the chance, you didn't give yourself or the kids chances.
• 50:43
  SPEAKER_06: It's just weird.
• 50:44
SPEAKER_06: Like, yeah, when did you tell this kid you killed two people?
• 50:46
SPEAKER_06: Like it you wasted no time to unload your burdens onto a 10-year-old child.
• 50:53
SPEAKER_06: Yeah, he gets no he he gets no sympathy from me.
• 50:56
  SPEAKER_06: Then I have a question.
• 50:57
SPEAKER_06: I don't know if it's gonna be answered, it probably will be.
• 50:59
SPEAKER_06: Why did he come back in secret?
• 51:01
SPEAKER_06: I mean, you does he have to tell them?
• 51:04
SPEAKER_06: I mean, honestly, nothing happened other than the murders.
• 51:08
SPEAKER_06: I get it, but they're on the island.
• 51:11
SPEAKER_08: I mean, let's think that you can figure out that answer if you think about it.
• 51:14
SPEAKER_06: He didn't want to know when he killed people, so he didn't want to tell everybody that how we got back because it'll because it I don't I don't know.
• 51:24
  SPEAKER_07: Okay, I don't know.
• 51:25
SPEAKER_06: I can't, uh come back to me because I can't I can't figure out why he says, We're back.
• 51:32
SPEAKER_06: This is what the fuck happened to us, and this is how as crazy as it sounds, this is how we got back because no one's gonna think he hiked up the plane and killed, you know what I mean?
• 51:41
  SPEAKER_06: It's not like right, so I don't understand.
• 51:44
SPEAKER_06: Like, I mean, unless it's like they might think I'm crazy, maybe, but but think that through.
• 51:49
  SPEAKER_08: You come back.
• 51:50
  SPEAKER_08: How'd you get back?
• 51:53
SPEAKER_06: Where were you on a fucking island?
• 51:56
SPEAKER_06: Like I said, he could tell the whole story, and they might think he's crazy.
• 52:00
  SPEAKER_06: This crazy ass motherfucker.
• 52:02
SPEAKER_06: I stole his fucking boat.
• 52:04
SPEAKER_06: He can say I stole his fucking boat and we veered off what the fuck ever.
• 52:09
SPEAKER_08: Right like it's but when all when he Michael knows that I mean he he wanted to get rescued, everybody wanted to get rescued.
• 52:17
SPEAKER_06: So why didn't you rescue the rest of your people?
• 52:20
  SPEAKER_08: Right.
• 52:20
SPEAKER_08: So he he had to have a good reason to do okay, all right.
• 52:28
  SPEAKER_06: I don't know.
• 52:29
SPEAKER_06: I just it's just I think as women, between getting on that boat with my child and finding someone to help us, I think you and I would have figured out a story plausible enough.
• 52:41
  SPEAKER_06: Because guess what?
• 52:43
SPEAKER_06: The odd because if you had to veer to a story in like 325 to get off the island, odds were they ain't gonna find the island.
• 52:49
SPEAKER_06: Like so, whoever's going to save us was not gonna find the island again.
• 52:53
  SPEAKER_09: Right.
• 52:53
  SPEAKER_06: Odds are most likely.
• 52:56
SPEAKER_06: So I would have made some shit up.
• 52:59
  SPEAKER_06: I'm just being silly.
• 53:01
SPEAKER_08: Okay, what's the next point?
• 53:02
  SPEAKER_06: Let's see.
• 53:03
SPEAKER_06: Gonna unlock my phone again.
• 53:07
SPEAKER_06: I think I know who the Oceania Six are.
• 53:10
SPEAKER_06: Not sure, but that's about that.
• 53:12
SPEAKER_06: We we can um get back to that.
• 53:16
SPEAKER_06: Okay, so we know it's Kat, Kate, Son, Jack, Hurley, Saeed, and I'm still waffling between Michael and maybe Sawyer.
• 53:25
SPEAKER_06: I'm still not 100% sure that he stayed in the island.
• 53:28
SPEAKER_08: You brought Michael into it.
• 53:29
SPEAKER_08: I didn't I didn't know if you were gonna only because of this episode.
• 53:34
SPEAKER_06: Um, but yeah, I'm waffling back and forth between the two.
• 53:37
SPEAKER_06: I wouldn't be surprised if either one of them was the sixth person.
• 53:41
  unknown: Okay.
• 53:42
SPEAKER_06: Well, I should be someone totally different.
• 53:46
  SPEAKER_06: All right.
• 53:47
SPEAKER_06: Trivia and notes and random shit.
• 53:51
  SPEAKER_08: Okay.
• 53:52
SPEAKER_08: So here's here's just some like notes that I wanna jab at you with.
• 53:57
SPEAKER_08: Miles says that 80% of the people on the freighter lied about something.
• 54:02
SPEAKER_08: So if you had to guess what or who and about what, what would you 80% of that freighter is a lot of people?
• 54:10
  SPEAKER_06: Freighter, Lord.
• 54:11
SPEAKER_06: Um, I'm give this hospital like free advertisement, and they don't even know.
• 54:15
SPEAKER_06: Um what was the question again?
• 54:19
  SPEAKER_06: Oh no, I remember.
• 54:20
  SPEAKER_06: Okay.
• 54:20
  SPEAKER_06: Um okay.
• 54:25
SPEAKER_06: So Miles, it's start off with Miles.
• 54:28
SPEAKER_06: Actually, all three, like the three people that got dropped, that's definitely they got other things, other there's something else going on.
• 54:36
SPEAKER_06: So we know they're lying about something.
• 54:38
SPEAKER_06: There's still Naomi in there.
• 54:40
SPEAKER_06: And why did they give her such a bad wig?
• 54:42
SPEAKER_06: Like I'm just saying, anyway.
• 54:46
SPEAKER_08: Um maybe, maybe she like had cut her hair or something in between filming.
• 54:51
  SPEAKER_06: I mean, this a better wig.
• 54:53
  SPEAKER_08: I mean, I'm I don't know.
• 54:54
SPEAKER_06: They could have done better than that.
• 54:56
SPEAKER_06: Um who else is lying?
• 55:01
SPEAKER_06: I don't think the helicopter pilot is lying.
• 55:04
  SPEAKER_08: Frank?
• 55:05
  SPEAKER_06: Yeah, Frank.
• 55:06
  SPEAKER_06: I think he's one of the 20.
• 55:07
SPEAKER_06: Like, he honestly believes that he's helping.
• 55:10
SPEAKER_06: Like, I think he went into this, like trying to help with the figure what the fuck was going on.
• 55:14
SPEAKER_08: Which actually leads me is gonna lead me to my next point, but go ahead.
• 55:18
  SPEAKER_06: Oh, fucking A.
• 55:20
SPEAKER_06: Um what else is there?
• 55:22
  SPEAKER_06: Who else is there?
• 55:22
  SPEAKER_06: Naomi, I don't know.
• 55:25
  SPEAKER_06: I mean, everyone's lying by everything.
• 55:28
  SPEAKER_06: There you go.
• 55:29
  SPEAKER_06: That's my answer.
• 55:30
  SPEAKER_08: Okay, all right.
• 55:31
SPEAKER_08: So going to what Frank said, right?
• 55:33
SPEAKER_08: That he he told Michael how he thinks, well, or that he knows that the wreckage was staged.
• 55:41
SPEAKER_08: And he says that Charles Whidmore was to find out the truth.
• 55:46
SPEAKER_08: Yeah, he's interested in finding out the truth, so that's why Frank is on the mission.
• 55:53
SPEAKER_08: But we've been told, but we've also been told it's not a rescue mission.
• 55:58
SPEAKER_06: So that Frank's, I mean that Frank's that Whidmore set it up.
• 56:02
SPEAKER_08: Is that not lying to Michael?
• 56:03
SPEAKER_08: Is Whidmore lying to Frank?
• 56:05
SPEAKER_08: Like, what do you think is?
• 56:06
  SPEAKER_06: I don't think Frank's I don't know if Frank's.
• 56:09
SPEAKER_06: I I feel like the fact that when he saw the like when the news came out, and he's like, wait, wait, wait, wait, there's something's not right here.
• 56:17
SPEAKER_06: The first thing he did was call into the hotline.
• 56:20
SPEAKER_06: He's like, Yeah, no, this is not right.
• 56:23
SPEAKER_06: Um, I mean, there's there's either a he honestly believed what he like he bel he believes what he was told and he's trying, he's he's in there to help, or they got him.
• 56:35
  SPEAKER_09: Okay.
• 56:36
SPEAKER_06: Like he he was he was got.
• 56:38
  SPEAKER_06: I don't know.
• 56:39
  SPEAKER_06: Um I don't know.
• 56:41
SPEAKER_06: That's not an answer because I'm going, I'm giving you both solutions so that way I won't be wrong no matter what.
• 56:46
  SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
• 56:46
  SPEAKER_06: But my gut, I don't know.
• 56:48
SPEAKER_06: My gut's right about real life people, TV characters.
• 56:52
  SPEAKER_06: I don't know anymore.
• 56:52
  SPEAKER_06: I don't trust myself.
• 56:53
  SPEAKER_06: Thank you, lost.
• 56:54
SPEAKER_06: Pretty got me fucked up.
• 56:57
SPEAKER_08: According to Captain Galt, Ben faked the wreckage.
• 57:01
SPEAKER_08: According to Tom Friendly, Woodmore faked the wreckage.
• 57:06
SPEAKER_08: Now, as much as he can forge anything, who's to say that they weren't Ben's documents?
• 57:13
SPEAKER_08: They could be any right.
• 57:15
SPEAKER_08: Because friendly, right, because like yeah, I because here's here's my thoughts, right?
• 57:22
SPEAKER_08: And you could just tell me like which one you think is like whatever.
• 57:26
SPEAKER_08: Like Ben says that okay, it's because Charles Woodmore wants doesn't want people to find the island because he wants to exploit it and this and that.
• 57:45
SPEAKER_08: You know what I mean?
• 57:45
SPEAKER_08: Why would the two connect?
• 57:47
SPEAKER_08: Whereas Ben knows that plane landed there, and Ben doesn't want people to find the island.
• 57:53
SPEAKER_08: So wouldn't it make more sense that Ben is the one responsible because to hide the location of the island, to hide the location of the island that makes sense.
• 58:02
SPEAKER_08: He's got all the records, so it's like, how could it not be Ben's?
• 58:08
SPEAKER_06: So at this point, the viewer, me, because you've seen it, um, I we don't know what the fuck is going on.
• 58:15
SPEAKER_06: But what I do know, what I do know, whether he has malicious intent or not, that boat is Whigmore's.
• 58:25
SPEAKER_06: And that was the only thing you asked me, and that was right.
• 58:29
SPEAKER_08: And then my last point to this whole Ben versus Wigmore.
• 58:35
SPEAKER_06: But then, oh, before I begin, that Said's the smart guy.
• 58:39
SPEAKER_08: Somehow he ends up working on the island, huh?
• 58:43
SPEAKER_08: I said he's probably like the smartest one on the island, right?
• 58:46
SPEAKER_06: Because, but he also ends up working with Ben.
• 58:49
SPEAKER_06: So I don't know, like Ben as and and Saeed are both like mental masterminds.
• 58:57
SPEAKER_06: And it's I mean, mentally, I think they're all they're like they're on par with one another.
• 59:04
SPEAKER_06: So can one of them be fucking with the other one?
• 59:06
  SPEAKER_06: Absolutely.
• 59:08
SPEAKER_06: Most likely, one of fucking with one of them is just beating, one is playing fucking games.
• 59:12
  SPEAKER_06: But which one?
• 59:13
  SPEAKER_06: I don't fucking know.
• 59:14
SPEAKER_06: But you also keep that in a an account where why does that end up working with them?
• 59:20
SPEAKER_06: He's not gonna trust him instantly, right?
• 59:23
SPEAKER_06: So, but yeah, but to your point.
• 59:25
SPEAKER_06: Fucking eggs give me a headache.
• 59:26
SPEAKER_08: The last point with the Ben reversus Widmore is when Frank is saying how you know he's hoping to discover what happened to the passengers, it's like, okay, but he believes it.
• 59:40
SPEAKER_08: Well, does he believe it because he is the one who put the fake wreckage so he knows that they're alive?
• 59:48
SPEAKER_08: But if he's also saying that it's not a rescue mission, it's like how do you make how do you just make sense of the whole thing?
• 59:55
SPEAKER_08: And like, what would what would Widmore want with the passengers?
• 1:00:00
SPEAKER_08: Like, especially if he's looking for them and he's the one who put the wreckage, meaning that he gets into himself, like you know what I mean.
• 1:00:08
SPEAKER_06: Okay, so part of it obviously is what changed Michael's mind.
• 1:00:14
SPEAKER_06: So you what it means, I don't know, but you have to keep it, you have to keep you gonna be cognizant of the fact where you have these guys shooting off uh semi-automatic weapons, playing games, like so.
• 1:00:28
SPEAKER_06: I get that you have to be this doing anything you don't know what you're gonna you're getting yourself into.
• 1:00:34
SPEAKER_06: You should yeah, having weapons aboard and trained people is a smart move, okay.
• 1:00:41
SPEAKER_06: But enough, these are brand new high-end automatic weapons, and obviously they have enough ammo clearly to play with it, and these guys don't seem like professionals in the sense of I'm coming here to do a job, get in, get out, protect people.
• 1:01:02
SPEAKER_06: Like they don't get they don't vibe off, like I'm here to we're prepared for the worst, but we want to protect these people.
• 1:01:09
SPEAKER_06: They get off these, like they give off that gun happy, crazy motherfuckers that want to play and shoot people.
• 1:01:15
SPEAKER_06: So it gives you a lot, it kind of leans towards that.
• 1:01:19
SPEAKER_06: Yeah, they do want to cause them harm.
• 1:01:22
SPEAKER_06: Does Saeed was he aware of Charlie's message?
• 1:01:26
SPEAKER_06: When he said Penny says not her, is that her boat?
• 1:01:29
  SPEAKER_06: Was he?
• 1:01:29
  SPEAKER_06: I don't remember.
• 1:01:30
SPEAKER_06: Did he get that information?
• 1:01:32
SPEAKER_08: I believe that they are all aware because remember when they all kind of came back together in the minute, like the first time in like three seasons, but yeah, okay.
• 1:01:44
SPEAKER_06: I just couldn't remember if he had that information.
• 1:01:47
SPEAKER_06: Because so that's another reason.
• 1:01:49
SPEAKER_06: Um, I going back a little bit, I think he has a plan because he's a he has the information from that was relayed from Desmond that Charlie said that wasn't Penny's boat.
• 1:02:00
SPEAKER_06: So they're already on edge about do they mean it's good or bad, whatever.
• 1:02:05
SPEAKER_06: And then he's hearing this, so I think he's playing the long game.
• 1:02:09
  SPEAKER_06: And yeah, I don't know.
• 1:02:11
  SPEAKER_06: I can't give you details about that's fine.
• 1:02:13
SPEAKER_06: I'm done trying to figure out Whitmore and Ben and because none of them make sense.
• 1:02:19
SPEAKER_06: They don't they all have a two year motives.
• 1:02:22
  SPEAKER_08: Fine.
• 1:02:24
  SPEAKER_08: Okay, I love it.
• 1:02:25
SPEAKER_06: I don't know where that came from.
• 1:02:26
SPEAKER_08: My last little question for you is they reference the temple.
• 1:02:29
SPEAKER_08: So, like if you had to guess, you know what is it?
• 1:02:32
SPEAKER_06: Okay, my first thought was do you remember that show on Nickelodeon?
• 1:02:36
  SPEAKER_08: Yes, the hidden temple.
• 1:02:37
SPEAKER_08: Yes, yes, I always wanted to be a contestant on that show.
• 1:02:40
  SPEAKER_05: Me too!
• 1:02:41
SPEAKER_08: I still do like right after guts, yes, you're like, I want to go, I want to do guts first, and then I want to do like the legend of the hidden temple and get like the purple monkey or whatever the fuck it was.
• 1:02:50
SPEAKER_06: That was my first thought.
• 1:02:51
SPEAKER_06: Um, like, oh cool temple.
• 1:02:53
SPEAKER_06: And I was thinking like Aztec temple, like a picture like an Aztec temple in the back in the middle of the jungle, in the jungle, and I'm because we've seen like different dharma stations, so right.
• 1:03:05
SPEAKER_08: Um, you know, do you think it's like a dharma station?
• 1:03:07
SPEAKER_08: Do you think it's like you know, just because I just remember that there were so many thoughts swirling in my head, like, oh my god, what the fuck is a temple?
• 1:03:16
SPEAKER_08: You know, when I watched this, because back then, which I guess I was wrong about when the strike was, because the strike after this episode, there was a hiatus because of a strike.
• 1:03:26
SPEAKER_08: So I don't know if it was another one or what, like my memories back then, just walked by like fucking Godzilla and shit.
• 1:03:36
SPEAKER_08: I couldn't even see your face anymore.
• 1:03:38
SPEAKER_06: No, because he actually walked on the keyboard, so that's why it was he took up the whole camera.
• 1:03:43
SPEAKER_08: Um, but yeah, so there was there was a break between this episode and the next one, and it was just like, oh my god, I'm fucking dying.
• 1:03:50
  SPEAKER_08: What is the temple?
• 1:03:51
SPEAKER_08: I think it just felt like so like deep and dark and like mystery shrouded, and I I was just like fascinated by the idea of it.
• 1:04:05
SPEAKER_06: I just want to know if you had any no, other than typical um temple shit double, like double double dealing shit.
• 1:04:13
SPEAKER_06: Like, what the hell is he doing?
• 1:04:14
SPEAKER_06: Was what's he what is he really up to?
• 1:04:16
SPEAKER_06: And I think we'll actually prove that proved right.
• 1:04:22
SPEAKER_08: Or you think it's just another benism?
• 1:04:25
  SPEAKER_06: I maybe both.
• 1:04:26
  SPEAKER_06: Okay, I don't know.
• 1:04:28
SPEAKER_06: I mean, honestly, I think he has love for Alex.
• 1:04:33
SPEAKER_06: I don't think he really wanted danger to come to her, but at the same time, I don't I don't put him past him to sacrifice her for his life either.
• 1:04:46
  SPEAKER_08: That's fucking dark.
• 1:04:49
SPEAKER_08: I feel like you're just talking about how how fucked up it was that Michael told Walt that he had to kill two people in order to get him back, and that's so fucked up, but Ben is just gonna use his daughter to save his life, and you're like, yeah, but that's normal.
• 1:05:08
  SPEAKER_06: No, no, no.
• 1:05:09
  SPEAKER_06: I didn't say it was normal.
• 1:05:10
  SPEAKER_06: I said I don't I can see him doing it.
• 1:05:12
SPEAKER_08: Right, but like, well, that's what I meant, like normal for him for him.
• 1:05:16
SPEAKER_06: Like oh, I don't think he's gonna have her killed.
• 1:05:19
SPEAKER_06: No, I don't think he was gonna have her killed.
• 1:05:21
SPEAKER_06: I think whoever shot those arrows would have killed her, they could have killed her.
• 1:05:25
SPEAKER_08: You know, at first I was like, I don't remember them being arrows.
• 1:05:29
SPEAKER_06: I thought they were arrows.
• 1:05:30
SPEAKER_08: No, they were gunshots, but they're silencers.
• 1:05:34
SPEAKER_08: Oh, I mean But then wait, wait, what did you say?
• 1:05:37
SPEAKER_06: What I said sacrificing her.
• 1:05:39
SPEAKER_06: So whether it means holding her hostage, just assume dead.
• 1:05:43
SPEAKER_06: Yeah, I don't think no, I don't, yeah, because honestly, usually sacrifice dead.
• 1:05:47
SPEAKER_06: I wouldn't put him past, I wouldn't put him past me rephrase it.
• 1:05:49
SPEAKER_06: I don't put him past using her as a pawn.
• 1:05:52
  SPEAKER_08: Oh yeah, okay.
• 1:05:53
SPEAKER_08: That maybe that's why you were just so callous about you're like this bitch is crazy.
• 1:06:01
  SPEAKER_08: Alex, no.
• 1:06:03
  SPEAKER_08: All right.
• 1:06:08
SPEAKER_04: I mean, you're the one that wants me to fly on a picnic table, but what the airline.
• 1:06:14
SPEAKER_08: Oh it's really a fucking picnic table.
• 1:06:18
SPEAKER_08: I mean lucky to get a table.
• 1:06:20
SPEAKER_05: I mean, it's like folding tables, folding chairs lined up.
• 1:06:25
SPEAKER_05: Up is like take the picking table.
• 1:06:27
  SPEAKER_08: I have a good game.
• 1:06:28
SPEAKER_08: Any of you listening right now, if you can figure out the airline that I'm talking about, I said that I don't mind flying this airline so long as the plane lands in one piece and I am alive.
• 1:06:40
SPEAKER_08: I said, but it's like sitting on a folding chair in the sky.
• 1:06:44
SPEAKER_08: She thought I was exaggerating.
• 1:06:46
SPEAKER_08: I sent her a picture of the chairs inside the plane.
• 1:06:51
SPEAKER_08: And she was like, Oh my god, you were being serious.
• 1:06:53
SPEAKER_08: I was like, Yeah, she's like, No, I thought you were exaggerating.
• 1:06:56
  SPEAKER_08: No, no, no.
• 1:06:57
  SPEAKER_08: I was being serious.
• 1:06:58
SPEAKER_08: I think the only thing that the chairs don't do is actually fold.
• 1:07:02
SPEAKER_08: But if you could message us, you could do email, you could do like DM on like Instagram or Twitter or whatever.
• 1:07:10
SPEAKER_08: And I I promise you that if whoever can guess the airline that we are talking about, I don't want to name them publicly, like I don't want to embarrass them, but like they embarrass themselves.
• 1:07:22
SPEAKER_08: But um, like yeah, um, I will I will send you like goodies in the mail.
• 1:07:27
SPEAKER_08: Okay, you win a you you will win the prize, a prize.
• 1:07:30
SPEAKER_08: It's not gonna be a great prize, but like it's Christmas, so I'm feeling generous.
• 1:07:35
SPEAKER_06: So I think it's funny because I'm like, um, this is the particular in my head, this airline, you'll be on the plane at the gate, pulling off, like back to taxi to your and then all of a sudden you're here over the speaker.
• 1:07:50
SPEAKER_06: Is there a pilot in the house?
• 1:07:52
SPEAKER_06: Is there an available pilot?
• 1:07:55
SPEAKER_06: Please come to the front.
• 1:08:01
SPEAKER_08: Can't be an engineer on a boat, but I'll fly the plane.
• 1:08:06
  SPEAKER_08: It's cool.
• 1:08:06
SPEAKER_06: I gotta say that was kind of fun.
• 1:08:08
SPEAKER_06: You didn't expect that, did you?
• 1:08:09
  SPEAKER_08: No, it's my brother.
• 1:08:11
SPEAKER_08: Okay, um, but anyway, yeah, so just send us send us the messages and I'll send it to at least like five people who get it right.
• 1:08:19
  SPEAKER_08: I'll send you goodies.
• 1:08:20
  SPEAKER_08: Can I play how?
• 1:08:22
SPEAKER_06: What what can I can I play?
• 1:08:24
  SPEAKER_08: Yeah, play.
• 1:08:25
SPEAKER_06: I can like I could send you a message of who the airline is.
• 1:08:28
SPEAKER_08: Send a message to you and I.
• 1:08:30
SPEAKER_08: Yes, and I'll send yourself a message.
• 1:08:32
SPEAKER_06: And I can take the gift that I could take the goodies I already have.
• 1:08:37
  SPEAKER_06: Okay.
• 1:08:37
  SPEAKER_06: There's my gifts.
• 1:08:38
SPEAKER_08: The ones, yeah, the one the ones that you still have, like that you went home with.
• 1:08:42
  SPEAKER_06: Right.
• 1:08:42
SPEAKER_06: The ones that's always been giving out, I can just keep them.
• 1:08:44
SPEAKER_08: When we meet in Podfest, whatever, whatever we don't because I I'm like creating like a big bounty of shit to to manifest that I bring.
• 1:08:54
SPEAKER_08: And I've been looking at some other stuff to maybe kind of make and bring and um yeah, so whatever doesn't go there, uh yeah, take with you.
• 1:09:08
  SPEAKER_08: That'll be your prize.
• 1:09:09
SPEAKER_08: Like you gotta fly that shit back home.
• 1:09:11
SPEAKER_06: I said one or the other, Lisa.
• 1:09:14
  SPEAKER_06: One of the things.
• 1:09:14
SPEAKER_08: We're about to wear all of our plane, all of our planes on the clothes.
• 1:09:17
SPEAKER_08: We're about to wear all of our clothes on the plane.
• 1:09:19
SPEAKER_08: Why would I have to wear the plane there too?
• 1:09:23
SPEAKER_06: One or the other, Lisa.
• 1:09:25
SPEAKER_06: I gotta treat you like I do my my my three-year-old grandson.
• 1:09:29
SPEAKER_08: Why she has to do both.
• 1:09:31
SPEAKER_08: This is this is the reason I need your support, okay?
• 1:09:34
SPEAKER_08: Not just because you want this podcast to continue being able to pay its podcasting host support fees, but because doesn't don't you think that Agnes deserves to travel like for three for three or four days once every eight weeks?
• 1:09:49
SPEAKER_08: I mean, slavery is over, you guys.
• 1:09:58
SPEAKER_08: Yes, because the support is not only Rachel being an amazing person and covering for Agnes, but because that's what I've heard, that's what she's told me.
• 1:10:08
SPEAKER_08: And I'm not just saying that because I want this to continue, but also because I know it's true.
• 1:10:13
SPEAKER_08: However, support is also you being able to do this, and we're gonna call it self-care because that's important, and that's the end of this topic, and I don't want to hear no more bullshit about it, okay?
• 1:10:27
  SPEAKER_08: That's it, we're done.
• 1:10:29
SPEAKER_06: I like it when you're rough with me, Lisa.
• 1:10:34
SPEAKER_06: The funny shit is you started laughing before I finished the sentence.
• 1:10:40
SPEAKER_08: Only because you can see my face.
• 1:10:44
  SPEAKER_08: We're done.
• 1:10:46
  SPEAKER_08: We're done.
• 1:10:47
  SPEAKER_03: Come here.
• 1:10:52
  SPEAKER_08: Okay.
• 1:10:54
SPEAKER_08: Do you have any more notes before I do like the trivia, the notes?
• 1:10:59
SPEAKER_08: I completely forgot that we didn't do that.
• 1:11:00
  SPEAKER_08: Okay, nope.
• 1:11:01
SPEAKER_08: No, no, we didn't do that.
• 1:11:02
  SPEAKER_08: Oh, this explains.
• 1:11:04
SPEAKER_08: This is Michael's flashback is suggested to have taken place sometime between days 68 and 82, which is November 28th, which is the day that they leave, and day 82 is December 12th.
• 1:11:20
SPEAKER_06: So he didn't even give the kid a month before he he opened up his heart and soul.
• 1:11:25
SPEAKER_08: And then it says likewise, Tom's appearances would seem to have been set between day 74, December 4th, and day 80, December 10th, as he was at the Hydra before day 74 and at the barracks on day 80.
• 1:11:40
SPEAKER_08: The Christmas trees visible in Michael's flashback suggest this happened in or near the month of December, obviously.
• 1:11:47
  SPEAKER_06: No, shit, Sherlock.
• 1:11:48
  unknown: Yeah.
• 1:11:49
SPEAKER_06: Not you, Sherlock, the other Sherlock.
• 1:11:51
  SPEAKER_08: The other Sherlock.
• 1:11:52
  SPEAKER_08: I got it.
• 1:11:54
SPEAKER_08: The Korean inscriptions on the back of the Rolex watch that Jin gave to Michael translate to congratulations, mutual cooperation, business development, and Mr.
• 1:12:06
  SPEAKER_08: Pake.
• 1:12:08
SPEAKER_08: Michael hears whispers and sees Libby just before he activates the bomb on the freighter.
• 1:12:15
SPEAKER_08: This is the first time the whispers are heard off the island.
• 1:12:20
SPEAKER_06: So the Assanti Spreads copy.
• 1:12:31
SPEAKER_08: In this clip, the whispers are incoherent.
• 1:12:34
SPEAKER_08: However, in the actual aired episode, the whispers begin with the Mama Cast song that played on the car radio when Michael tried to kill himself the first time.
• 1:12:43
SPEAKER_08: The lyric heard says it's getting better.
• 1:12:48
  SPEAKER_08: I don't know.
• 1:12:49
  SPEAKER_08: Take what you will.
• 1:12:50
  SPEAKER_06: I won't take shit.
• 1:12:52
SPEAKER_06: I am not picking up what they're putting down.
• 1:12:55
SPEAKER_08: This episode's flashbacks featured four deceased characters: Libby, Minkowski, Naomi, and Tom.
• 1:13:04
SPEAKER_08: The title of this episode was spoken by Tom to Michael.
• 1:13:08
  SPEAKER_08: Meet Kevin Johnson.
• 1:13:11
SPEAKER_08: Kevin Johnson and Dean Moriarty share the same passport number.
• 1:13:17
  SPEAKER_08: HNSO 12153.
• 1:13:22
SPEAKER_08: And the passport number, the HNSO, it references Hanso.
• 1:13:27
SPEAKER_08: And then the other numbers, they're like, oh, it's like four and eight because they're doing addition.
• 1:13:32
SPEAKER_08: I mean, you could add any way you want, you're gonna get one of those fucking numbers.
• 1:13:35
  SPEAKER_08: But anyway.
• 1:13:35
  SPEAKER_03: Right.
• 1:13:37
SPEAKER_08: The lost on location feature for this episode shows that Libby's chest and stomach are bloodied in the scene where she appeared as a nurse.
• 1:13:45
SPEAKER_08: However, as no such blood is present in the episode, it was likely removed.
• 1:13:49
SPEAKER_08: But it was still the same.
• 1:13:51
SPEAKER_08: Like, here's here comes Libby with the blankets.
• 1:13:55
SPEAKER_08: This is the first episode since her introduction in which Rose Rousseau Wait.
• 1:14:02
SPEAKER_08: This is the first episode since her introduction in which Rousseau had a costume change as she had been staying at the barracks.
• 1:14:09
SPEAKER_08: And you see what happens?
• 1:14:11
SPEAKER_08: Keep the dirty clothes on.
• 1:14:14
  SPEAKER_06: Look what happened.
• 1:14:16
SPEAKER_06: This is why all these sports athletes don't change the socks or the underwear.
• 1:14:20
  SPEAKER_08: Right.
• 1:14:23
  SPEAKER_08: Right.
• 1:14:24
SPEAKER_06: Looking at athletes' feet and shitty ass stains in their ass, but you know, they win trophies and rings and shit, so it must have something to do.
• 1:14:35
SPEAKER_08: This is the first episode since his introduction in which Daniel Faraday doesn't appear.
• 1:14:41
SPEAKER_08: Ken Lung, who plays Miles, returns after being missing for three episodes.
• 1:14:47
SPEAKER_08: This is the third of five episodes in which both Matthew Fox and Evangeline Lilly do not appear.
• 1:14:56
SPEAKER_08: And I'm not gonna tell you which ones.
• 1:15:26
SPEAKER_08: Kiwalo Basin, the small commercial harbor in Kakaako, sorry, was transformed into the port of Suva, Fiji's largest port and gateway to its capital for this episode.
• 1:15:42
SPEAKER_08: This is the second longest flashback to date, exceeding flashes before your eyes by just a few seconds and surpassed only by the other 48 days, which takes place entirely in flashback.
• 1:15:56
SPEAKER_08: Malcolm David Kelly confirmed in an interview that he was the actor playing Walt in his brief appearance.
• 1:16:03
SPEAKER_08: According to showrunners Damon Lindelof and Carlton Kuse in the DVD audio commentary for There's No Place Like Home, the image of Walt in the window was taken from season one footage and digitally placed in the shot because he had grown significantly since season two.
• 1:16:23
SPEAKER_08: Some people are like, oh, you could tell.
• 1:16:25
  SPEAKER_08: I mean, I don't know.
• 1:16:27
  SPEAKER_08: I'm not a pro.
• 1:16:28
  SPEAKER_08: I couldn't really tell.
• 1:16:29
SPEAKER_08: Like it will it was so fast, but you know, I didn't even watch it like after seeing that, and I was like, Yeah, I don't know, I still don't know.
• 1:16:36
SPEAKER_06: I just I just assumed they got another symbol looking after.
• 1:16:41
SPEAKER_06: Like I didn't because you don't like see it that well, like you don't right, because I'm like, okay, but yeah, and it wasn't important enough to try to like sometimes okay, some watching some people watching TV shows.
• 1:16:53
SPEAKER_06: I'm gonna fucking say it, yeah, a little berserk.
• 1:16:56
SPEAKER_06: What difference does it make?
• 1:16:58
SPEAKER_06: Just like like going back to look and trying to do conspiracy theories.
• 1:17:04
SPEAKER_06: I you know he didn't come back, you know why he didn't come back.
• 1:17:07
  SPEAKER_06: Move on.
• 1:17:08
SPEAKER_06: Not everything needs to be dissected.
• 1:17:11
SPEAKER_08: Some people just it it says this episode was followed by a month-long break due to the writer strike.
• 1:17:23
SPEAKER_08: So I I don't know why in my head.
• 1:17:25
SPEAKER_08: I remember the writer strike being before this, but I think maybe this is what they had in the can.
• 1:17:37
SPEAKER_06: I mean maybe and then they had to ex- they had to like I don't remember.
• 1:17:42
SPEAKER_06: Okay, I'm gonna look it up.
• 1:17:47
SPEAKER_08: Um okay, so what year was this?
• 1:17:53
SPEAKER_06: This episode 2020, it was like 2009-ish?
• 1:17:57
  SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
• 1:17:58
  SPEAKER_06: Oh 2007 2007.
• 1:18:01
  SPEAKER_08: 2000.
• 1:18:03
  SPEAKER_06: 2007, 2008.
• 1:18:08
  SPEAKER_08: I thought this was 2009.
• 1:18:12
SPEAKER_06: When it was aired, they usually start filming and stuff before like they write and film beforehand.
• 1:18:19
  SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
• 1:18:21
SPEAKER_06: So the writer's strike, the writers' guild are married, November 2007 through February 2008.
• 1:18:29
SPEAKER_08: Okay, so let me see when this episode.
• 1:18:34
SPEAKER_08: You said November 2007 to when?
• 1:18:38
  SPEAKER_06: February 2008.
• 1:18:40
SPEAKER_08: Uh so this episode aired March 2008.
• 1:18:46
SPEAKER_06: So this is probably the stuff that they had already.
• 1:18:50
  SPEAKER_06: This is the writers.
• 1:18:51
SPEAKER_06: So they probably had this stuff already done by time to strike.
• 1:18:57
  SPEAKER_07: Okay.
• 1:18:59
SPEAKER_06: So thus once the strike was there, like they had they didn't have anything else, thus the hiatus.
• 1:19:07
  SPEAKER_08: Okay.
• 1:19:07
  SPEAKER_06: That makes sense.
• 1:19:08
  SPEAKER_06: That adds up then.
• 1:19:09
  SPEAKER_08: Right.
• 1:19:10
SPEAKER_08: Okay, so some bloopers and shit.
• 1:19:13
SPEAKER_08: In Cash 22, Naomi's helicopter crashes in the water.
• 1:19:18
SPEAKER_08: But in the subsequent episodes, the freighter crew still has a holl helicopter, which implies that they had two before Naomi crashed.
• 1:19:25
SPEAKER_08: However, only one helicopter is present on the pad in this episode during the scene when Naomi is arguing with Frank and Frank's scene with Kevin.
• 1:19:36
SPEAKER_06: Well, to be fair, it's possible the other one might have been another part of the plane.
• 1:19:41
SPEAKER_06: Was it really a blooper or just something someone noticed?
• 1:19:43
SPEAKER_06: Is it a legit blooper?
• 1:19:45
SPEAKER_08: No, it is because the freighter the hell there are like you've you've been able to see two helipads on the So maybe it was actually maybe someone was using it.
• 1:19:56
  SPEAKER_08: Who?
• 1:19:57
SPEAKER_08: When Frank and Naomi were the two people.
• 1:20:00
  SPEAKER_03: Good point.
• 1:20:01
SPEAKER_08: Because I thought that too.
• 1:20:02
SPEAKER_08: I was like, oh, but maybe so I don't know.
• 1:20:04
SPEAKER_08: I mean when Tom hangs up the phone.
• 1:20:10
SPEAKER_08: When Tom hangs up the phone after he speaks with Michael, a dial tone is heard.
• 1:20:15
SPEAKER_08: Only landline telephones give dial tones.
• 1:20:18
  SPEAKER_06: Oh.
• 1:20:19
  SPEAKER_06: Who knew?
• 1:20:20
SPEAKER_06: Well, anyone who's ever been in a boat or a ship, they would know.
• 1:20:23
SPEAKER_08: But it was a cell phone.
• 1:20:27
  SPEAKER_06: Oh.
• 1:20:29
  SPEAKER_06: Oh, that's funny.
• 1:20:30
  SPEAKER_06: Oh, yeah.
• 1:20:31
  SPEAKER_06: Oh, right, right, right.
• 1:20:34
  SPEAKER_06: Oh, that's funny.
• 1:20:35
SPEAKER_08: At the end of the episode, when Alex is ambushed, Tanya Ramon's left eye contact can be seen slipping out of place, showing her naturally brown eye underneath.
• 1:20:46
SPEAKER_08: In the ambush scene at the end of the episode, character Carl's actor Blake Baschoff reacts to the first shot by turning his head towards the source of the sound at the same time the shot can be heard.
• 1:21:01
SPEAKER_08: The sound effects appear to be edited into the scene too late.
• 1:21:06
SPEAKER_08: In the same scene, when Danielle is shot, you can see the bullet hole on her body before the shot is actually fired.
• 1:21:13
SPEAKER_08: In fact, she starts to fall down before the shot is fired.
• 1:21:19
SPEAKER_08: Blake Baschoff's hearing protection is visible after Carl is shot, which I saw in his ear.
• 1:21:27
SPEAKER_08: And Tanya Ramon's microphone can be seen hanging over her right ear as Alex and Danielle prepare to run after Carl's death.
• 1:21:34
SPEAKER_08: And I saw that too.
• 1:21:36
  SPEAKER_04: I wasn't listening, I wasn't looking.
• 1:21:38
SPEAKER_08: No, it it was quick.
• 1:21:40
SPEAKER_08: Like because I had seen these, I you know, I knew.
• 1:21:45
SPEAKER_08: I knew it was gonna come.
• 1:21:48
SPEAKER_08: So, like some of the themes, right?
• 1:21:50
SPEAKER_08: Like Michael is supposedly on the boat to redeem himself, and he has to kill the people on the boat in order to save the people on the island.
• 1:22:02
SPEAKER_08: We got another eye shot.
• 1:22:03
SPEAKER_08: We hadn't gotten one in a while.
• 1:22:05
SPEAKER_08: Like when Michael was in the hospital, it even though it wasn't the beginning of the episode, it opened Donald's eyes.
• 1:22:12
  SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
• 1:22:15
SPEAKER_06: Yeah, I forgot about that.
• 1:22:18
SPEAKER_08: Tom tells Michael when he's trying to kill himself that the island won't let you die.
• 1:22:23
SPEAKER_08: Why do you think this is?
• 1:22:26
SPEAKER_08: Because clearly Michael just escaped death twice, three times if you count the fake Acme bomb.
• 1:22:33
  SPEAKER_08: But at least twice.
• 1:22:35
SPEAKER_08: What is it about the island and how?
• 1:22:38
  SPEAKER_08: Or why?
• 1:22:40
SPEAKER_06: What the fuck do I know?
• 1:22:41
  SPEAKER_06: Never stop.
• 1:22:42
  SPEAKER_06: Um I don't know.
• 1:22:44
  SPEAKER_06: Is it?
• 1:22:45
  SPEAKER_06: Here's a question.
• 1:22:46
  SPEAKER_06: Here's a question for you.
• 1:22:48
SPEAKER_06: Is it really the island, or is he just using psychology on this dumbass?
• 1:22:54
SPEAKER_08: Like for he took him you took Michael's work to do.
• 1:22:59
SPEAKER_06: He took Michael's gun from him at one point when they had the fight.
• 1:23:02
SPEAKER_08: Yeah, he was like, go ahead.
• 1:23:03
SPEAKER_08: And we see he crashed into he crashed his car, didn't work.
• 1:23:08
SPEAKER_08: He sh he shot himself in the apartment and it didn't work.
• 1:23:12
SPEAKER_06: I'm just saying, maybe he took out the firing pin.
• 1:23:14
  SPEAKER_06: I don't know.
• 1:23:15
  SPEAKER_06: I don't know.
• 1:23:15
  SPEAKER_06: I'm just being I don't know.
• 1:23:17
  SPEAKER_06: Um, let's see.
• 1:23:20
SPEAKER_06: The island okay, the island's fucking weird.
• 1:23:22
  SPEAKER_06: We know that.
• 1:23:23
SPEAKER_08: And and remember when we saw Jack in the first flash forward that he was ready to commit suicide.
• 1:23:36
SPEAKER_08: That he he rides the planes every time there's turbulence, he's hoping it'll crash, it never does.
• 1:23:41
  SPEAKER_08: I mean, that's the bridge.
• 1:23:43
SPEAKER_06: Oh wait, the bridge, yes.
• 1:23:44
SPEAKER_06: Fly in the plane and hope it crashes a stupid way because that was you see that he's he's trying to like he's desperate.
• 1:23:53
SPEAKER_08: Like he's just I don't care if he dies, he don't care, whatever.
• 1:23:56
SPEAKER_08: He just it's like either death or the island.
• 1:23:59
SPEAKER_08: But in the scene where he's trying to jump off the bridge, it's like, well, was it the island who put that car in his path to save him?
• 1:24:12
SPEAKER_08: I don't know, could it could it be related?
• 1:24:14
  SPEAKER_08: That's what I mean.
• 1:24:15
  SPEAKER_06: I mean, the island's weird.
• 1:24:16
SPEAKER_06: We all know there's some weird shit happening with that place, and and lost and lost logic.
• 1:24:24
SPEAKER_06: Could there be a connection?
• 1:24:25
  SPEAKER_06: Absolutely.
• 1:24:26
SPEAKER_06: Could that can the island be manipulating shit?
• 1:24:29
  SPEAKER_06: Absolutely.
• 1:24:30
SPEAKER_06: This is lost, it's a TV show.
• 1:24:31
  SPEAKER_06: Why the hell not?
• 1:24:33
SPEAKER_06: Can I figure out a lost a TV scientific wave?
• 1:24:40
  SPEAKER_06: No, I can't.
• 1:24:41
  SPEAKER_06: I can't I can't connect the dots.
• 1:24:42
  SPEAKER_06: I can't, I don't have a spinning axis logic for that explanation.
• 1:24:50
  SPEAKER_08: Okay.
• 1:24:51
  SPEAKER_02: Spinning axis.
• 1:24:54
  SPEAKER_08: Some cultural references.
• 1:24:56
  SPEAKER_08: Okay.
• 1:24:57
SPEAKER_08: Kurt Vonnegut, the author of Slaughterhouse 5, is mentioned as an answer on the game show that Michael was watching.
• 1:25:04
  SPEAKER_08: The Shining.
• 1:25:06
SPEAKER_08: Minkowski remarks that Michael reminds him of the main character based on Stephen King's novel, and his hair resembles Nicholson's character from the movie.
• 1:25:17
SPEAKER_08: Which I assume they mean Minkowski and not Michael.
• 1:25:20
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 1:25:21
  SPEAKER_06: But I mean.
• 1:25:24
  SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
• 1:25:25
SPEAKER_08: Star Wars, before he shot, Carl says, I've got a bad feeling about this.
• 1:25:30
SPEAKER_08: Which is a line spoken in every episode of Star Wars.
• 1:25:35
SPEAKER_08: Cass Elliot, the song playing in the car when Michael tries to kill himself, is It's Getting Better.
• 1:25:41
SPEAKER_08: And she also recorded Make Your Own Kind of Music, which is the song that we open season two with when Desmond is doing his like routine and you don't know where you are or who he is.
• 1:25:53
  SPEAKER_06: Oh, right.
• 1:25:54
  SPEAKER_06: Okay.
• 1:25:56
  SPEAKER_08: The Hotel Earl.
• 1:25:58
SPEAKER_08: This is the former name of the Washington Square Hotel.
• 1:26:02
SPEAKER_08: This is the name of a fictional hotel in the 1991 Cohen Brothers film Barton Fink, and is a metaphysical manifestation of hell for an awkward, isolated New York City writer.
• 1:26:16
  SPEAKER_06: How funny.
• 1:26:19
  SPEAKER_06: Wait, that sounds familiar.
• 1:26:22
  SPEAKER_06: I thought maybe I've seen that.
• 1:26:24
  SPEAKER_06: Anyway.
• 1:26:27
  SPEAKER_08: So some literary techniques.
• 1:26:29
SPEAKER_08: Michael trades Jin Rolex for a handgun with which to kill himself, and on the island, Jin had tried to kill Michael over the same watch.
• 1:26:39
SPEAKER_08: Right after the trade, Tom shows up asking Michael about the Tom.
• 1:26:46
  SPEAKER_03: Tom time.
• 1:26:48
SPEAKER_08: Ben says that Charles Whidmore is without conscience, even though Ben killed, among other people, his own father.
• 1:26:56
SPEAKER_06: I mean, if anyone would know, it'd be him.
• 1:27:02
SPEAKER_08: Said turns Michael in because he works for Ben, but in the future, Saeed himself works for Ben.
• 1:27:08
SPEAKER_06: Yeah, I feel like there's something going on.
• 1:27:11
  SPEAKER_08: Sorry.
• 1:27:12
SPEAKER_06: He's playing the long game.
• 1:27:15
  SPEAKER_08: Lay down.
• 1:27:16
SPEAKER_06: Listen, if I could bend over like that, I'd be looking at myself too.
• 1:27:26
SPEAKER_08: Michael made terrible sacrifices to get Walt back from the others, only to lose him again after telling him about those sacrifices.
• 1:27:34
  SPEAKER_08: See?
• 1:27:35
SPEAKER_06: I'm not the only one.
• 1:27:40
SPEAKER_08: Frank talks to Michael about the idea of finding A-15 survivors alive, unaware that Michael himself is a survivor.
• 1:27:48
SPEAKER_03: I thought that was funny.
• 1:27:50
SPEAKER_08: As he is about to kill himself in the car, Michael says, I'm sorry, which is like a very regularly spoken phrase on this show.
• 1:28:00
SPEAKER_08: And Michael's statement that he came to the freighter to die mirrors the dialogue between him and Sawyer in Exodus Part 2, where he said that there was only two reasons why Sawyer would want to sail on Michael's raft because he was a hero or because he wanted to die.
• 1:28:16
SPEAKER_08: To which Sawyer replies, I ain't no hero, Mike.
• 1:28:19
SPEAKER_08: Like Sawyer on the raft, Michael on the freighter ends up.
• 1:28:25
SPEAKER_08: Oh, I shouldn't have read that part.
• 1:28:26
  SPEAKER_08: Okay.
• 1:28:27
  unknown: Forget.
• 1:28:27
  SPEAKER_06: Don't worry, I forgot I forgot already.
• 1:28:30
  SPEAKER_08: Yeah, that's good.
• 1:28:31
  SPEAKER_08: You already forgot.
• 1:28:33
SPEAKER_08: Before attempting suicide, Michael says, I'm sorry, just like he did immediately after oh, immediately before shooting Anna Lucia.
• 1:28:42
SPEAKER_08: When Libby appears in his vision, she's carrying blankets, just like she did when he shot her.
• 1:28:48
SPEAKER_08: Before pressing execute on the fake bomb, Michael says, I love you, Walt, echoing Desmond saying, I love you, Penny, before he turned the failsafe key in the swan.
• 1:29:00
SPEAKER_08: Ben tells Michael to make a list of the people on the freighter, just as he once told Ethan and Goodwin about the survivors of 815.
• 1:29:09
SPEAKER_08: One of the questions that we got is Tom mentions that some of the others can come and go to and from the island.
• 1:29:21
SPEAKER_08: So that's my question to you.
• 1:29:24
SPEAKER_08: Who do you think they are and why?
• 1:29:25
SPEAKER_08: Or do you think that there's just no rhyme and reason?
• 1:29:29
SPEAKER_06: I mean, who fucking knows?
• 1:29:31
SPEAKER_06: No, I have no idea.
• 1:29:32
  SPEAKER_06: I I plead the fifth.
• 1:29:34
  SPEAKER_08: Gotcha.
• 1:29:36
  unknown: Okay.
• 1:29:36
SPEAKER_06: And yes, I do know that it's not the correct usage of that amendment.
• 1:29:41
  SPEAKER_06: I'm being facetious.
• 1:29:43
SPEAKER_06: I don't want calling me, like calling a sin.
• 1:29:46
SPEAKER_06: Like, that's not exactly how you you yes, I know.
• 1:29:48
  SPEAKER_06: Yes, I know.
• 1:29:50
SPEAKER_06: I am smarter than a fifth grader sometimes.
• 1:29:53
  SPEAKER_08: I mean, that like that's what I said.
• 1:29:56
SPEAKER_08: Like this episode is kind of straightforward, but there was still a lot in it.
• 1:29:59
SPEAKER_08: It just wasn't like here and there.
• 1:30:02
SPEAKER_06: It was just I don't mind that because it gets because I because I thought it was just too much.
• 1:30:06
  SPEAKER_06: I'm like, I can't.
• 1:30:07
SPEAKER_06: And you asked me these questions, like, there was just so much going on.
• 1:30:10
  SPEAKER_06: I don't know.
• 1:30:11
SPEAKER_08: There's a lot of balls in the air.
• 1:30:13
SPEAKER_06: And not in a good way.
• 1:30:19
SPEAKER_08: Is there anything else about this episode before we okay?
• 1:30:25
SPEAKER_08: The next episode is the shape of things to come.

  SPEAKER_08: It's a little intense.
• 1:30:32
SPEAKER_08: I don't think you need an Ada band, but it is a little intense.
• 1:30:37
SPEAKER_02: Are we Atavans for real life bullshit?
• 1:30:40
  SPEAKER_08: Okay.
• 1:30:40
SPEAKER_02: I'm okay with TV bullshit, I think.
• 1:30:42
  SPEAKER_09: Okay.
• 1:30:43
  SPEAKER_02: For the most part.
• 1:30:45
  SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
• 1:30:51
SPEAKER_08: This week, I want to challenge our listeners.
• 1:30:56
SPEAKER_08: Because we always say, oh, if you look, you know, if you like this show, if you want to support this show, help us pay, you know, for our podcasting fees and our equipment and our liquor and all that stuff, you know, assassinsips.com.
• 1:31:09
SPEAKER_08: However, I want to challenge our listeners this week with a specific call to action.
• 1:31:16
SPEAKER_08: All I want you to do is send us a message.
• 1:31:21
  SPEAKER_08: That's it.
• 1:31:23
SPEAKER_08: I just want you to take two minutes.
• 1:31:26
SPEAKER_08: I want you to find one of our social medias, or you can just do use our email.
• 1:31:32
SPEAKER_08: Everything is in the show notes.
• 1:31:33
SPEAKER_08: And I just want you to write a tiny hello to us.
• 1:31:38
SPEAKER_08: And if you'd like to include your personal contact information, we will send you some fun little goodies.
• 1:31:47
  SPEAKER_08: I can't send cash, no.
• 1:31:49
SPEAKER_06: Well, I don't mean cash, but you're gonna make it rain with goodies.
• 1:31:52
  SPEAKER_08: Oh, yeah, yeah.
• 1:31:53
SPEAKER_06: Yeah, you know, and that's it.
• 1:31:55
SPEAKER_08: And and it really shouldn't take you more than two minutes, and it would actually mean a lot to us.
• 1:32:01
SPEAKER_08: So please, that's my challenge.
• 1:32:04
SPEAKER_06: You know what's really funny?
• 1:32:06
SPEAKER_06: Like, we don't like we record this, and obviously, because we're an audio podcast, we're not exactly the camera ready, but I am always your banner white to your past say Jack.
• 1:32:19
SPEAKER_06: Well, while I'll do like the visuals, what did I like what she said?
• 1:32:24
SPEAKER_06: Knowing damn well no one can see me.
• 1:32:28
SPEAKER_04: That's probably why I do it subconsciously, so I know I'm safe from being looked like a fool, more so than normal, you know what I mean.
• 1:32:40
SPEAKER_08: Okay, and until next time, we want to remind you to please drink responsibly, do not drink and drive, and visit us at sassenssips.com where you can find all the ways to get in touch with us and all the ways to support the show.
• 1:32:57
SPEAKER_08: And for those of you who haven't yet, we do ask that you consider helping us out.
• 1:33:02
SPEAKER_08: All of your support will go towards paying for things like hosting fees, buying us wine, and hopefully getting us to Podfest.
• 1:33:13
SPEAKER_08: But as always, if you cannot or do not choose to support this show financially, that's totally fine.
• 1:33:21
SPEAKER_08: Leave a review, rate the show, but only if you're gonna give us five stars.
• 1:33:27
SPEAKER_08: Um, tell a friend, and just please keep listening.
• 1:33:31
  SPEAKER_08: And we thank you.
• 1:33:32
SPEAKER_08: We thank you for being there.
• 1:33:33
SPEAKER_08: We wish you a Merry Christmas, a happy new year, and everything good for the next year.
• 1:33:39
SPEAKER_08: And you know, hopefully this coming year will be better than the last one, and all that positivity stuff that people like to say.
• 1:33:46
SPEAKER_06: Because I'm not that good at it, but um, yeah, we're not good at positive, we're good at realistic shit.
• 1:33:51
  SPEAKER_08: I know.
• 1:33:52
SPEAKER_06: I just I'm trying to be better, but I mean it could but it's worse things.
• 1:33:57
SPEAKER_06: Yeah, but like my singing.
• 1:34:00
  SPEAKER_08: Oh, oh that's right.
• 1:34:01
SPEAKER_02: You were gonna sing us last Christmas.
• 1:34:04
SPEAKER_02: I gave you my heart, but the very next day you gave it away.
• 1:34:09
  SPEAKER_06: That's all you're getting.
• 1:34:10
SPEAKER_06: I need some background music.
• 1:34:11
SPEAKER_06: Can we get some background music with this Lisa and we can really jam up in this joint?
• 1:34:15
  SPEAKER_06: I'm just joking.
• 1:34:15
SPEAKER_08: We gotta get background music, but it's gonna be our exit music.
• 1:34:19
SPEAKER_08: Alright, hit it this time.
• 1:34:21
SPEAKER_08: I'm Lisa and I'm Agnes, and we are out of here.
• 1:34:36
  SPEAKER_02: No, wait.
• 1:34:37
SPEAKER_02: Last Christmas, I gave you my heart, but the birthday next day you gave it away.
• 1:34:47
SPEAKER_02: To save me from tears, I'll give it to someone special.
