- 0:00Speaker 1: The issues, the interviews and the insight. Ryan Bridge on
- 0:05Speaker 1: an early edition with Spark for business technology that keeps
- 0:08Speaker 1: business moving news talks.
- 0:10Speaker 2: They'd be good morning, it is Tuesday. Great to have
- 0:12Speaker 2: your company. Six hour to five. We'll here to London
- 0:14Speaker 2: where the PM has resigned. We'll go to Australia with
- 0:17Speaker 2: Donald Tomayo. We'll have a look at the fresh faces
- 0:19Speaker 2: in the abs. And a two milk confirms it's good
- 0:22Speaker 2: China news this morning. The agenda. It is Tuesday of
- 0:27Speaker 2: twenty thirty, jeen years to the big news out of
- 0:28Speaker 2: the UK expected Starma is resigning, standing down as PM.
- 0:32Speaker 3: Every decision I've taken has been about putting the country
- 0:36Speaker 3: I love first. That is why I will resign as
- 0:40Speaker 3: Leader of the Labour Parts. I have spoken to His
- 0:42Speaker 3: Majesty the King this morning to inform him of my decision.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Two ways to look at this, will look at both.
- 0:48Speaker 2: This morning public seems happy.
- 0:50Speaker 4: Did you know that sir Key Starmer has resigned as
- 0:52Speaker 4: Prime Minister?
- 0:53Speaker 5: Has he?
- 0:53Speaker 6: This morning?
- 0:54Speaker 7: Thank God about time too?
- 0:58Speaker 2: Just resigned it.
- 1:00Speaker 3: He's a measured man. He thinks things through very very carefully,
- 1:03Speaker 3: and I think he looked at the situation thought as
- 1:05Speaker 3: he has always done.
- 1:06Speaker 8: What do I believe is better for my country and
- 1:07Speaker 8: understand than what he's always done.
- 1:09Speaker 5: Okay, so I think it's on.
- 1:10Speaker 9: The right thing.
- 1:11Speaker 2: He's been the worst prime minister initiative.
- 1:13Speaker 1: That's your verdict on kist Arma.
- 1:16Speaker 2: Now Andy Burnham has been sworn and not as Prime
- 1:19Speaker 2: Minister but as the MP for make and Field.
- 1:21Speaker 10: We know come to wonder Burnham Member for maker Field.
- 1:29Speaker 2: He's confirmed to bill standing and go for PM wiz
- 1:32Speaker 2: reading backing.
- 1:32Speaker 10: Up my statements obviously raising for Prime Minister's dedication service.
- 1:40Speaker 2: And confirmed. But I will put myself forward in other news.
- 1:44Speaker 2: I'll tell you something that jd Vance has said, and
- 1:46Speaker 2: then I'll tell you why it's stupid. He has sidered
- 1:48Speaker 2: a run, has agreed to let nuclear inspectors back into
- 1:51Speaker 2: the country, and it's a great success.
- 1:52Speaker 11: I think it's important for all of us to appreciate
- 1:54Speaker 11: how much was done.
- 1:56Speaker 2: But honestly, there.
- 1:57Speaker 11: Is still a lot to do, as we continue to
- 1:59Speaker 11: meet progress on the nuclear talks, on the economic talks,
- 2:03Speaker 11: as we continue to de mine the streets and ensure
- 2:05Speaker 11: that that flow of traffic continues to pick back up.
- 2:08Speaker 2: A lot of.
- 2:08Speaker 11: Progress, but still some work to do.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Views and views you trust to start your day. It's
- 2:16Speaker 1: earlier this ship with Ryan Bridge and Spark for business
- 2:20Speaker 1: technology that keeps business moving.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Confused talks that'd bead after five nine two. The number six.
- 2:25Speaker 2: The reason that what he has just said is stupid,
- 2:27Speaker 2: saying that this is a major milestone for the American
- 2:30Speaker 2: people that you might have independent international inspectors going into
- 2:36Speaker 2: Iran to look for nuclear weapons. Is that's exactly what
- 2:39Speaker 2: you had under Barack Obama's deal, the one that Trump
- 2:42Speaker 2: threw out. So is it that amazing? No, it's not,
- 2:46Speaker 2: And again calls them the question why the hell they
- 2:48Speaker 2: did the whole thing in the first place. Anyway, let's
- 2:51Speaker 2: move on from that, because Japan's done something interesting overnight.
- 2:54Speaker 2: Japan has increased by five times their visa fees for
- 2:59Speaker 2: all all foreigners. Don't worry. If you're going on a
- 3:02Speaker 2: holiday to Japan, where visa waiver country, so it doesn't
- 3:05Speaker 2: affect us. But if you are wanting to go work there,
- 3:08Speaker 2: live there, or you're not from a visa waiver country,
- 3:11Speaker 2: they've hiked it five times what you were paying yesterday.
- 3:14Speaker 2: So thirty two New Zealand dollars is what you were
- 3:17Speaker 2: paying for a visa, it'll now be one hundred and
- 3:20Speaker 2: sixty two New Zealand dollars. And the reason they've done
- 3:23Speaker 2: this is they're basically so popular as a tourist destination.
- 3:27Speaker 2: There's a few places in the world that people are
- 3:30Speaker 2: really hot on at the moment. One is Japan, one
- 3:33Speaker 2: is South Korea, and another is Paris. Just France and
- 3:38Speaker 2: general people absolutely love that. The Americans cannot get enough
- 3:41Speaker 2: of it. Anyway, the yen has been weakening, that's been
- 3:45Speaker 2: happening since twenty twenty one, so the cost of actually
- 3:49Speaker 2: traveling and staying in our hotels and buying beautiful food
- 3:52Speaker 2: is cheaper hovering their historic forty year lows. You add
- 3:56Speaker 2: to that the post pandemic travel rebound, and what you
- 3:59Speaker 2: have is a travel surge, a tourist surge going into Japan,
- 4:04Speaker 2: and they are now going to make hay while the sunshine,
- 4:07Speaker 2: thank you very much. When it comes to their visa fees,
- 4:09Speaker 2: the US, by the way, charges between three and six
- 4:12Speaker 2: hundred dollars for a visa, and New Zealand they had
- 4:15Speaker 2: a look this morning. Our visited visas can cost you
- 4:18Speaker 2: up to unless, of course, again you're a visa waiver
- 4:20Speaker 2: can cost you up to four hundred and twenty dollars.
- 4:24Speaker 2: Ryan Bridge, after five News Talks there'd be next a
- 4:27Speaker 2: two milk and the pocono plant that is about to
- 4:30Speaker 2: start pumping them money.
- 4:31Speaker 1: The Early Edition Full show podcast on iHeartRadio powered by
- 4:36Speaker 1: News Talks AV the first word on the news of
- 4:41Speaker 1: the day. Early Edition with Ryan Bridge and Spark for
- 4:45Speaker 1: business Technology that keeps business moving.
- 4:47Speaker 2: News Talks ABB thirteen after five. It is lunchtime in
- 4:51Speaker 2: New York City and Space six shares are on course
- 4:54Speaker 2: for their biggest one day decline since they went public
- 4:56Speaker 2: earlier this month, now more than fifty ten percent below
- 5:01Speaker 2: their record close, which was two hundred and one dollars
- 5:03Speaker 2: eighty cents. That's you wear. Just today they've shed about
- 5:07Speaker 2: two hundred and twenty five billion dollars in market cap.
- 5:09Speaker 2: But that's you know, I mean, we're talking about big numbers,
- 5:12Speaker 2: so big numbers like that aren't actually as scary as
- 5:14Speaker 2: they might sound. But I'll take you back to the
- 5:16Speaker 2: day of the IPO.
- 5:17Speaker 7: It was a lot was the largest APO that ever
- 5:22Speaker 7: And let me tell you, if people had told me
- 5:24Speaker 7: this was the going to happen, I was like, man,
- 5:27Speaker 7: you must be smoking some really good crack because I
- 5:32Speaker 7: think this company is.
- 5:33Speaker 2: Going to fail. It's certainly not failing. And those shares
- 5:36Speaker 2: still twenty three percent above the IPO opening price of
- 5:40Speaker 2: one hundred and thirty five bread back Home A two
- 5:44Speaker 2: milk share holders have reason to smile this morning. Companies
- 5:46Speaker 2: want approval to sell infant formula into China from its
- 5:49Speaker 2: Pocino plant, the key reason that it bought the site
- 5:52Speaker 2: last year in the first place. Now moving ahead with
- 5:55Speaker 2: a three hundred million dollar special dividend, A two shares
- 5:57Speaker 2: really eleven percent on the news. Oliver manp She held
- 6:00Speaker 2: his association CEO with me this morning. Oliver, Good morning,
- 6:03Speaker 2: Good morning Ryan. So just confirming what was expected.
- 6:08Speaker 12: Look, I think that's how I would read this. They
- 6:11Speaker 12: purchased the plants for around two hundred and eighty million
- 6:13Speaker 12: dollars last year or in September. They actually didn't make
- 6:17Speaker 12: the full payment until then. It was some of the
- 6:20Speaker 12: cash was held back until those regultary approvals have been
- 6:23Speaker 12: achieved now been completed. I think the eventent at the
- 6:26Speaker 12: time that pay They had an intention to pay a
- 6:28Speaker 12: three hundred million dollars dividend on the completion of both
- 6:32Speaker 12: the SAMR accreditation and the completion of the MBM sale
- 6:40Speaker 12: down in South lond And Yeah, so this is no surprises.
- 6:44Speaker 2: Doesn't guarantee sales, does it. I mean, it's a regulatory
- 6:47Speaker 2: it's regulatory approval. It's not a it's not a free ticket.
- 6:52Speaker 12: No, it's not a free ticket. This will They'll still
- 6:54Speaker 12: have work to do to actually market those products into China,
- 6:56Speaker 12: but it does at the time the business case for
- 6:59Speaker 12: an extra one hundred million dollars of increased revenue that
- 7:01Speaker 12: attached to those two products in them is interesting because
- 7:05Speaker 12: it does attach to the plant and specific products. So
- 7:07Speaker 12: right now they've got this their sin Lay manufactured Chinese
- 7:12Speaker 12: label infant formula. This gives them gives them two more
- 7:14Speaker 12: product lines that can fell into China. So they will
- 7:18Speaker 12: have every expectation of using that capability to market those
- 7:22Speaker 12: new products that they tend to produce.
- 7:24Speaker 2: Yeah, the share market liked it yesterday. Do you think
- 7:26Speaker 2: that they will continue liking stories like this? And how
- 7:30Speaker 2: does Sinlay feel?
- 7:34Speaker 12: So to the first anything that underpins and creates real
- 7:37Speaker 12: cash will always be well received by shareholders. Previous signal
- 7:43Speaker 12: on SpaceX. But you know, despite all of that and
- 7:46Speaker 12: the sentiment surrounding that investors do like cash ultimately, so
- 7:51Speaker 12: anything that creates the potential for more more profitability, more
- 7:55Speaker 12: cash flow will be really well regarded by the market
- 7:58Speaker 12: in terms of sin lay. That is an interesting question.
- 8:03Speaker 12: At the time they maintained that they had they ever
- 8:06Speaker 12: intentioned of keeping on the SEME capacity and the capability there.
- 8:11Speaker 12: It's not surprising because the more access they can get
- 8:14Speaker 12: into Chinese market there, the more revenues that they are
- 8:19Speaker 12: able to achieve. But yes, this does certainly give a
- 8:23Speaker 12: two milks more options when it comes to getting that
- 8:26Speaker 12: product into the Chinese market.
- 8:27Speaker 2: Oliver a good chat. Oliverman Shareholders Association's CEO time is
- 8:31Speaker 2: sixteen after five, Ryan Lime. You know those bikes that
- 8:35Speaker 2: you ride if you're into that, or scooters that you
- 8:39Speaker 2: knock your shins into if you're not into that. They
- 8:43Speaker 2: are looking at an IPO reportedly this morning hoping to
- 8:46Speaker 2: raise one hundred and eighty million dollars that would give
- 8:48Speaker 2: them evaluation at one point seven billion. Interestingly, Lime, the
- 8:52Speaker 2: e bike firm, if you haven't ridden one before, I
- 8:55Speaker 2: was over in overseason a couple of weeks ago, and
- 8:58Speaker 2: they are all the rage. In fact, there was a
- 9:01Speaker 2: city in France where pretty much everyone was riding them.
- 9:05Speaker 2: I think there is another couple, like two other brands,
- 9:08Speaker 2: but they were the main line was the main one,
- 9:10Speaker 2: and it was genuinely the easiest way to get around,
- 9:13Speaker 2: although it was a flat city and it was clearly
- 9:16Speaker 2: geared for cycling anyway. They are hoping to raise a
- 9:20Speaker 2: bit of money ebike firm out of America. They're hoping
- 9:23Speaker 2: to put some of the money into new technology, also
- 9:26Speaker 2: into servicing debt. Interestingly, they have posted net losses every
- 9:31Speaker 2: year since they were founded. Seventeen after five the Early.

- 9:52Speaker 2: Five twenty Bob says yet another PM on the merry
- 9:55Speaker 2: go round of UK governance. Says, if it'll make a difference,
- 9:58Speaker 2: Bob good point, we will go to London talk about
- 10:00Speaker 2: that just before top of the hour seven about twenty
- 10:02Speaker 2: minutes time from now. First though, All Black Squad naming
- 10:06Speaker 2: four new faces, Dave Renney's first squad to play in
- 10:09Speaker 2: the Nation's Championship. Let's go to Sam Mackaman's sports commentator Sam,
- 10:12Speaker 2: good morning, right looking strong? What are your thoughts? Yeah,
- 10:17Speaker 2: it's a squad.
- 10:18Speaker 5: This would have most of all Black fans going okay,
- 10:21Speaker 5: he wants to play an optimistic Ford thinking brand of Raby.
- 10:24Speaker 2: Will this team can do it?
- 10:25Speaker 5: So? Thirty four players, four new caps, as you say,
- 10:27Speaker 5: But what find I find interesting is if there hadn't
- 10:30Speaker 5: been a change of coach, how different would these squads be?
- 10:33Speaker 5: I would say kind of a little bit similar. What
- 10:36Speaker 5: the key is is who goes from the thirty four
- 10:39Speaker 5: into the fifteen? The best example, the first fives are
- 10:42Speaker 5: the same first fives you expect almost anyone to pick
- 10:45Speaker 5: as a selection. But instead of going for Boden Barrett,
- 10:48Speaker 5: will he try something new? Go for Reuben Love, who
- 10:50Speaker 5: is just the mastermind that drove the Hurricanes to their
- 10:54Speaker 5: extraordinary Super Rabia victory. That's the difference from this talent pool.
- 10:59Speaker 5: Will he then meet brave choices over who goes into
- 11:02Speaker 5: that fifteen?
- 11:03Speaker 2: Quite cool to see how much of an impact that
- 11:05Speaker 2: Hurricanes team is having on the All Blacks.
- 11:08Speaker 5: Eleven players out of you know, obviously, when the zones
- 11:11Speaker 5: fifteen on the field, you know it's a fair few
- 11:13Speaker 5: to get selected and a few are considered unlucky as well. Ryan,
- 11:16Speaker 5: So when you are that dominant, it is great to
- 11:18Speaker 5: see that rewarded as well. I think only one member
- 11:22Speaker 5: of their back line wasn't selected for this after they
- 11:24Speaker 5: tore things up, so it is yeah, it's great that.
- 11:27Speaker 5: I think New Zealand rugby and all black fans want
- 11:30Speaker 5: to see that hurricane style of play played. It test
- 11:34Speaker 5: little easier said than done.
- 11:35Speaker 2: That absolutely, Now this is the nation's championship. What about
- 11:38Speaker 2: the tour to South Africa? Is this an indication of
- 11:41Speaker 2: the team that would go or is it just you know,
- 11:43Speaker 2: you tested out and then you see hate where you
- 11:45Speaker 2: get to.
- 11:46Speaker 5: Well, you'd say of the thirty four, that'd all be
- 11:49Speaker 5: in pretty good shot of going, Ryan. They take a
- 11:51Speaker 5: forty four man squad to that trip with the three
- 11:54Speaker 5: tests on a tour as well as the tour matches
- 11:57Speaker 5: against the provincial unions in and around South Africa. So
- 12:01Speaker 5: those who are condeemed unlucky to miss out are a
- 12:04Speaker 5: pretty good chance of still going on that tour. But
- 12:06Speaker 5: this is an indication of where where Rennie and co
- 12:09Speaker 5: want to see their footing played.
- 12:10Speaker 2: Originally, did you say forty four, will there be any
- 12:13Speaker 2: rugby players left in New Zealand once they take that.
- 12:15Speaker 5: Well, I've just been giving a new pair of boots
- 12:19Speaker 5: just in case. Ryan, I hope you've got one as well.
- 12:21Speaker 5: So yeah, it'll be sure, will be interesting. Yeah, but
- 12:24Speaker 5: that does help soften the blow for those like Rica,
- 12:27Speaker 5: Joanne and Duskrifi who didn't get selected on this occasion,
- 12:30Speaker 5: because there is still an opportunity this year to force
- 12:33Speaker 5: your way into the all wacks.
- 12:34Speaker 2: All right, Sam Mackham and sports commentator with us on
- 12:36Speaker 2: the AB squad naming Good to have you on the
- 12:38Speaker 2: show was always Sam. Twenty two minutes alfter five, Ryan Bridge,
- 12:42Speaker 2: So Jdie Varnce just coming back to him, circling back
- 12:44Speaker 2: to him for a second. So he's over in Switzerland
- 12:47Speaker 2: and the media eights are from Pakistan another mediator crew
- 12:51Speaker 2: from Katar. I believe he is there as well, and
- 12:54Speaker 2: so he's doing the hard yards And they were up
- 12:57Speaker 2: past one o'clock in the morning talking and trying to
- 13:00Speaker 2: figure things out. But he said, because there was a
- 13:03Speaker 2: report yesterday Trump did some smack talking on social media
- 13:07Speaker 2: and there was a report that the whole talks had
- 13:10Speaker 2: come to an end that everybody had left the room
- 13:13Speaker 2: or stormed out of the room or whatever that didn't happen.
- 13:16Speaker 2: But here's what Vance is saying about, what did we
- 13:20Speaker 2: told the Uranians yesterday?
- 13:21Speaker 11: When you guys engage in what US millennials might call
- 13:24Speaker 11: trash talk, you can't expect the President of the United
- 13:26Speaker 11: States not to respond and not to correct the record.
- 13:30Speaker 2: There you go now at twenty four and after five
- 13:33Speaker 2: we will talk about what's happening in the UK in
- 13:35Speaker 2: just a few minutes time. But your figure of the
- 13:37Speaker 2: day to day, and this comes from the economist, And
- 13:39Speaker 2: I don't mind ripping off the economist because they always
- 13:42Speaker 2: had this. They have a little figure of the day
- 13:44Speaker 2: at the end of their world rap, which they do
- 13:47Speaker 2: on a daily basis, which I always find quite interesting.
- 13:49Speaker 2: And this one is three point three percent. Is today's figure.
- 13:53Speaker 2: Three point three percent the percentage of straight American couples
- 13:57Speaker 2: in which the woman is taller than the man, according
- 14:01Speaker 2: to survey data. So just three percent of couples have
- 14:07Speaker 2: the women taller than the man. Isn't it funny? Because
- 14:11Speaker 2: and they're probably all rich, those really rich billionaire guys
- 14:17Speaker 2: seem to get the supermols. But isn't it funny that that?
- 14:20Speaker 5: Then?
- 14:20Speaker 2: I mean, I know men are generally taller than women,
- 14:23Speaker 2: but even still to only have three point three percent,
- 14:27Speaker 2: I think is quite It says a lot, doesn't it.
- 14:30Speaker 2: Time is twenty four after five News Talk ZB. It
- 14:33Speaker 2: is twenty six minutes after five. So Keir Starmer's resignation
- 14:36Speaker 2: has come as no surprise to those who listen to
- 14:38Speaker 2: this or pretty much any show on this station. But
- 14:41Speaker 2: what should worry us, I think, is why. Sure he
- 14:44Speaker 2: was a dud. Sure he was a bit of a goofball,
- 14:48Speaker 2: he wasn't cool at all, But on immigration he was
- 14:51Speaker 2: at least trying. Illegal crossings were down eighty five percent
- 14:56Speaker 2: off their peaks. Crime was falling in the UK, the
- 14:59Speaker 2: economy stuck but not fallen. Over the Times newspaper now
- 15:03Speaker 2: that I reckon with the headline panicking politicians addicted to iPhones,
- 15:08Speaker 2: ourster prime minister. That's basically what happened here. In ten years,
- 15:11Speaker 2: they've had Cameron, that I've had May, they've had Johnson,
- 15:14Speaker 2: they've had Trust, They've had Sooner remember that Starma and
- 15:17Speaker 2: now shortly burn him. He'll probably end up just as
- 15:20Speaker 2: loathed and hated as the bloke who went before him.
- 15:23Speaker 2: I don't think this is just a politics thing, and
- 15:25Speaker 2: certainly not just a British thing, although they do like
- 15:28Speaker 2: to winge. We humans are undergoing an evolutionary metamorphosis into
- 15:34Speaker 2: impatient and petulant children, all of us yesterday. Research has
- 15:39Speaker 2: reported that kids can't watch movies these days because their
- 15:42Speaker 2: attention spans are too short, and movies are meant to
- 15:45Speaker 2: be fun. Musical albums are a thing of the past.
- 15:48Speaker 2: Even the idea of sitting down and listening to an
- 15:50Speaker 2: entire song is foreign to some. A few seconds or
- 15:54Speaker 2: hooks of a chorus on TikTok passes as easy listening
- 15:58Speaker 2: these days. Forget reading a book for goodness sakes? Is
- 16:02Speaker 2: it any wonder? The world is chewing through political leaders
- 16:05Speaker 2: like this no tomorrow, and consuming more content than the
- 16:08Speaker 2: world has ever in its history, yet somehow end up
- 16:11Speaker 2: dumber than beforehand. You notice that, and the irony of Ai,
- 16:17Speaker 2: the Great Savior of the universe, the technological equivalent of
- 16:20Speaker 2: Andy Burnham, will save us time, will give us more
- 16:24Speaker 2: time to read and to watch movies, and to switch
- 16:29Speaker 2: political leaders. What on earth will we do with it all?
- 16:34Speaker 2: Crambridge Ryan A lots of texts coming in about the
- 16:40Speaker 2: hype thing, and I was speaking to Kenzy, our producer,
- 16:42Speaker 2: about this, and I don't think Kenzy would be dating
- 16:44Speaker 2: the shorter man. I think it's fair to say Kensey,
- 16:47Speaker 2: I probably wouldn't either. I mean, I'm happily married, so
- 16:50Speaker 2: you know that's me. But for those who are just
- 16:52Speaker 2: joining us, three point three percent, according to the Economists,
- 16:55Speaker 2: three point three percent of American couple straight American couples
- 16:59Speaker 2: have the woman taller than the man. So what is it,
- 17:03Speaker 2: ladies nine two nine two, What is it about a
- 17:06Speaker 2: tall man you find so damn attractive. I've got girlfriends
- 17:10Speaker 2: who are with taller blokes, specifically because they're short and
- 17:15Speaker 2: they don't want to have short children and sort of
- 17:19Speaker 2: handicap their children, so they get shack up with the
- 17:23Speaker 2: taller man. Anyway, to each their own. News Talk ZB

- 26:01Speaker 2: let's go To australia first on a tomorrow WITH us
- 26:03Speaker 2: live poultry farms going into lockdown And Western australia over
- 26:06Speaker 2: this avian flu strain that's been found Don and what
- 26:10Speaker 2: do we, Know.
- 26:11Speaker 9: Well we know that after a second wild bird died
- 26:15Speaker 9: of THIS h five strain of bird, flew these poultry
- 26:18Speaker 9: farms are very very concerned as is all Of, australia
- 26:21Speaker 9: as you can well. Imagine so we've had word now
- 26:25Speaker 9: That australia's biggest poultry, producer The Ingham, group announced a complete.
- 26:29Speaker 9: Lockdown now there's no detection of the strain at the,
- 26:32Speaker 9: farms but of, course AS i, mentioned so much concern
- 26:36Speaker 9: about it that they've gone into. Lockdown now we know
- 26:39Speaker 9: that it's a second different migratory bird that has been found.
- 26:44Speaker 9: Dead now one was found on a beach Near esperance
- 26:47Speaker 9: and the other was found several kilometers. Away there've already
- 26:50Speaker 9: been many many CALLS i think about fifty calls to
- 26:53Speaker 9: a hotline to report sick and dead birds and these
- 26:57Speaker 9: of course are being followed.
- 26:58Speaker 16: Up and we know that this five rus has killed
- 27:00Speaker 16: millions of birds overseas and thousands of marine. Animals so
- 27:05Speaker 16: nine new samples have been sent for testing and at
- 27:09Speaker 16: this stage we've heard from The australia's From Australia's Chief Vetery,
- 27:12Speaker 16: officer Doctor Beth. Cookson now there's no indication that the
- 27:15Speaker 16: disease has spread to other populations as, yet but it's
- 27:18Speaker 16: a very very stressful time for, everybody especially, farmers and
- 27:21Speaker 16: we've heard from The Greens BirdLife australia and The Australian Conservation.
- 27:25Speaker 16: Foundation they're all calling for the federal government to set
- 27:28Speaker 16: up an emergency fund up to about two hundred million
- 27:32Speaker 16: dollars because they really want to Protect australia's wildlife.
- 27:35Speaker 2: Right, okay and those poultry farmers, obviously if they're in,

- 27:43Speaker 2: to Six Brian. Bridge time has gone and he's quite.
- 27:47Speaker 15: Emotional WHEN i leave the biggest job in the, COUNTRY
- 27:52Speaker 15: i shall spend more time on the most important, job
- 27:56Speaker 15: being the best Husband i've had to my fantastic, life
- 28:01Speaker 15: who has been a rock by my side through good,
- 28:04Speaker 15: time sp and.
- 28:05Speaker 3: Bad i'm being the best DAD i can to my beautiful,
- 28:09Speaker 3: children who are my pride.
- 28:12Speaker 2: For my Joint, now he stays on until the successor is,
- 28:14Speaker 2: chosen likely to be burn and When parliament returns In.
- 28:17Speaker 2: September Lucy, Fisher Financial Times Whitehall editor joins us Live,
- 28:21Speaker 2: lucy good, morning good evening to. You good evening. REACTION
- 28:26Speaker 2: i wanted to start with. Reaction what is the being market?
- 28:29Speaker 2: Reaction what are the bonds been doing.
- 28:32Speaker 4: Well perhaps, counterintuitively we saw both the pounds and guilt
- 28:37Speaker 4: markets tick up today after Where streeting announced that he
- 28:41Speaker 4: would not be running and would fold in Behind. Burnham
- 28:44Speaker 4: SO i think there's a sense that the markets had
- 28:46Speaker 4: already priced in that there was likely to be a
- 28:48Speaker 4: change of prime, minister and the signal that there will
- 28:51Speaker 4: not be a sort of bloody contest but instead a
- 28:55Speaker 4: fairly seenless transition of POWER i think has been welcomed
- 28:58Speaker 4: by the.
- 28:58Speaker 2: Markets, lucy has he done the thing For? Labor or
- 29:01Speaker 2: could will we likely be back here again Before alix
- 29:05Speaker 2: and day in doing this whole dance?
- 29:07Speaker 4: Again Got it's such a good, question isn't? It and
- 29:12Speaker 4: the slightly unedifying statistic that THE uk is about to
- 29:16Speaker 4: be on its seventh prime minister in a, decade possibly
- 29:19Speaker 4: it's eighth, chancellor possibly its tenth foreign secretary is not
- 29:24Speaker 4: a particularly positive one For britain's. Prospects SO i think
- 29:28Speaker 4: all the hope in The Labor party is that browling
- 29:30Speaker 4: the dice on Likely Andy burnham as the next leader
- 29:33Speaker 4: will lead to some, stability will Help labor turn around
- 29:37Speaker 4: its standing in the polls and put in a competitive
- 29:40Speaker 4: position to Be REFORM uk at the next election three years.
- 29:45Speaker 2: AWAY i heard a lot Of voxu's people on the streets, staying,
- 29:48Speaker 2: yeah we're happy he's. Gone oh great, news, Excellent but
- 29:51Speaker 2: as any, one you, know how stoked are they that
- 29:54Speaker 2: they're going to probably Get Andy. Burnham, well, look there.
- 29:58Speaker 4: Is a prison of excitement among some who have sort
- 30:02Speaker 4: of brought into his message of change and. Hope you,
- 30:05Speaker 4: know he Is labour's most popular candidate nationally and we
- 30:10Speaker 4: saw the difference that his personal brand makes In makerfield
- 30:14Speaker 4: last week where he won with a very decisive, majority
- 30:18Speaker 4: despite the fact That REFORMER uk had picked up all
- 30:21Speaker 4: the council seats in That westminster constituency just a month.
- 30:25Speaker 4: Before so there is a feel good factor around. Him
- 30:28Speaker 4: he does have a personal, brand and you, know he
- 30:31Speaker 4: is very much styling himself as you, know a man
- 30:35Speaker 4: of The north who is to take on The westminster
- 30:38Speaker 4: based elites and pivot away from Being london. Centric that's
- 30:42Speaker 4: a message that may particularly resonate with communities liable to
- 30:47Speaker 4: Vote reform who felt left behind in recent.
- 30:49Speaker 2: Years Dade Lucy fisher At Financial Times. Whitehall it is
- 30:52Speaker 2: a great heavy on the show this morning with an
- 30:53Speaker 2: analysis that is nine a wife from, Six Ryan, BRIDGE
- 30:56Speaker 2: a little walk down memory line for you now over
- 30:58Speaker 2: the past decade is. Loose he mentioned there have been

- 31:05Speaker 2: it would be right for me to try to be
- 31:07Speaker 2: the captain that steers our country to its next, destination.
- 31:11Speaker 4: But with enormous and enduring gratitude to have had the
- 31:14Speaker 4: opportunity to serve the COUNTRY i.

- 31:25Speaker 4: elected by The Conservative.
- 31:27Speaker 6: PARTY i leave this job honored to have been Your Prime.
- 31:30Speaker 3: Minister every Decision i've taken has been about putting the COUNTRY.
