  were

  about
• 0:05
  to
• 0:05
  catch
• 0:05
  a
• 0:05
  break,
• 0:06
  it
• 0:06
  feels
• 0:06
  like
• 0:07
  the
• 0:07
  cost
• 0:07
  of
• 0:07
  living
• 0:07
  squeeze

• 0:14
  about
• 0:14
  some
• 0:15
  ways
• 0:15
  we
• 0:15
  can
• 0:15
  tackle
• 0:16
  this
• 0:16
  and
• 0:17
  maybe
• 0:17
  get
• 0:18
  our
• 0:18
  money
• 0:18
  feeling
• 0:19
  a
• 0:19
  bit
• 0:19
  more
• 0:19
  under
• 0:20
  control
• 0:20
  in
• 0:20
  all
• 0:20
  sorts
• 0:21
  of
• 0:21
  different
• 0:21
  areas
• 0:21
  of
• 0:22
  our
• 0:22
  life.
• 0:22
  You
• 0:22
  know,
• 0:23
  if
• 0:23
  the
• 0:23
  food
• 0:24
  prices
• 0:24
  are
• 0:24
  up
• 0:24
  and
• 0:25
  the
• 0:25
  petrol
• 0:25
  prices
• 0:26
  are
• 0:26
  up
• 0:26
  and
• 0:26
  the
• 0:27
  insurance
• 0:27
  bill
• 0:28
  is
• 0:28
  up,
• 0:29
  what
• 0:29
  can
• 0:30
  we
• 0:30
  do
• 0:30
  about
• 0:31
  all
• 0:31
  of
• 0:31
  this?
• 0:32
  And
• 0:32
  we
• 0:33
  do
• 0:33
  know
• 0:33
  I
• 0:34
  like
• 0:34
  to
• 0:34
  focus
• 0:34
  on
• 0:35
  controlling
• 0:35
  the
• 0:35
  things
• 0:35
  that
• 0:36
  we
• 0:36
  can
• 0:36
  control.
• 0:37
  So
• 0:37
  here
• 0:38
  are
• 0:38
  the
• 0:38
  things
• 0:38
  that
• 0:38
  I
• 0:38
  think
• 0:39
  you
• 0:39
  should
• 0:39
  be
• 0:39
  looking
• 0:39
  at.
• 0:40
  Some
• 0:40
  easy
• 0:40
  wins,
• 0:41
  some
• 0:41
  longer
• 0:41
  term
• 0:42
  wins,
• 0:42
  a
• 0:42
  whole
• 0:42
  bunch
• 0:43
  of
• 0:43
  stuff.
• 0:43
  If
• 0:44
  even
• 0:44
  one
• 0:44
  of
• 0:44
  them
• 0:45
  works
• 0:45
  for
• 0:45
  you,
• 0:45
  awesome.
• 0:46
  Blocking
• 0:47
  that
• 0:47
  win,
• 0:47
  we
• 0:47
  could
• 0:47
  all
• 0:48
  do
• 0:48
  with
• 0:48
  one
• 0:48
  enjoyment.
• 0:55
  Things
• 0:55
  are
• 0:56
  feeling
• 0:56
  a
• 0:56
  little
• 0:56
  grim
• 0:56
  financially
• 0:57
  for
• 0:57
  many
• 0:58
  of
• 0:58
  us.
• 0:58
  Food
• 0:58
  prices
• 0:59
  are
• 0:59
  up
• 0:59
  and
• 1:00
  heading
• 1:00
  further
• 1:01
  up.
• 1:01
  Petrol
• 1:02
  prices
• 1:02
  are
• 1:03
  up
• 1:03
  with
• 1:03
  no
• 1:04
  signs
• 1:04
  of
• 1:04
  relief.
• 1:05
  And
• 1:05
  bills,
• 1:06
  well,
• 1:06
  for
• 1:07
  most
• 1:07
  of
• 1:07
  us,
• 1:07
  they
• 1:08
  are
• 1:08
  up
• 1:08
  too.
• 1:09
  It
• 1:09
  feels
• 1:10
  like
• 1:10
  just
• 1:10
  as
• 1:10
  the
• 1:11
  cost
• 1:11
  of
• 1:11
  living
• 1:11
  crisis
• 1:12
  was
• 1:12
  beginning
• 1:12
  to
• 1:13
  subside,
• 1:14
  things
• 1:14
  are
• 1:14
  getting
• 1:15
  worse
• 1:15
  again.
• 1:15
  So
• 1:16
  we
• 1:16
  thought
• 1:16
  it'd
• 1:16
  be
• 1:16
  a
• 1:16
  good
• 1:17
  chance
• 1:17
  to
• 1:17
  get
• 1:17
  some
• 1:17
  tips
• 1:18
  and
• 1:18
  tricks
• 1:19
  on
• 1:19
  where
• 1:20
  you
• 1:20
  can
• 1:20
  save
• 1:21
  money.
• 1:21
  To
• 1:21
  help
• 1:21
  with
• 1:21
  that,

• 1:27
  Hello.
• 1:28
  Hello.
• 1:29
  Are
• 1:29
  you
• 1:29
  feeling
• 1:29
  it
• 1:30
  too?
• 1:30
  Can
• 1:30
  you
• 1:30
  feel
• 1:30
  a
• 1:30
  change
• 1:31
  in
• 1:31
  mood?
• 1:32
  Oh,
• 1:32
  yeah.
• 1:32
  I've
• 1:33
  gotta
• 1:33
  say,
• 1:34
  I'm
• 1:34
  very
• 1:35
  lucky
• 1:35
  in
• 1:35
  many
• 1:35
  ways
• 1:36
  to
• 1:36
  have
• 1:36
  quite
• 1:36
  a
• 1:36
  tight
• 1:37
  relationship
• 1:37
  with
• 1:37
  the
• 1:37
  audience.
• 1:38
  Good
• 1:38
  old
• 1:38
  social
• 1:38
  media
• 1:39
  these
• 1:39
  days.
• 1:40
  But
• 1:40
  it
• 1:40
  does
• 1:40
  mean
• 1:41
  that
• 1:41
  the
• 1:41
  DMs
• 1:42
  can
• 1:42
  take
• 1:42
  a
• 1:43
  turn
• 1:43
  for
• 1:43
  the
• 1:43
  anxious
• 1:44
  at
• 1:44
  various
• 1:45
  times.
• 1:45
  And
• 1:45
  I've
• 1:45
  gotta
• 1:45
  say,
• 1:45
  my
• 1:46
  inbox
• 1:46
  is
• 1:47
  looking
• 1:47
  extremely
• 1:49
  anxious
• 1:49
  these
• 1:49
  days.
• 1:50
  And
• 1:50
  I
• 1:50
  see
• 1:51
  it
• 1:51
  too.
• 1:51
  You
• 1:51
  know,
• 1:51
  you
• 1:51
  head
• 1:51
  into
• 1:52
  the
• 1:52
  supermarket
• 1:53
  and
• 1:53
  you're
• 1:53
  trying
• 1:53
  to
• 1:53
  pick
• 1:53
  up
• 1:54
  a
• 1:54
  few
• 1:54
  things
• 1:54
  and
• 1:54
  it's
• 1:55
  ridiculously
• 1:55
  expensive.
• 1:56
  And
• 1:56
  you
• 1:56
  can
• 1:56
  feel
• 1:56
  that
• 1:57
  tension
• 1:57
  from
• 1:58
  people
• 1:58
  around
• 1:58
  you
• 1:58
  too.
• 1:59
  So
• 1:59
  I
• 1:59
  really
• 1:59
  feel
• 1:59
  for
• 1:59
  everyone
• 2:00
  going
• 2:00
  through
• 2:00
  it.
• 2:01
  What
• 2:01
  are
• 2:01
  people
• 2:01
  mostly
• 2:01
  telling
• 2:02
  you
• 2:02
  or
• 2:02
  asking
• 2:03
  you?
• 2:04
  I
• 2:04
  think
• 2:04
  the
• 2:04
  thing
• 2:04
  is
• 2:04
  that
• 2:05
  they
• 2:05
  see
• 2:06
  the
• 2:06
  issues
• 2:06
  at
• 2:06
  the
• 2:07
  moment
• 2:07
  coming
• 2:08
  out
• 2:08
  of
• 2:08
  Iran
• 2:09
  and
• 2:09
  the
• 2:09
  Strait
• 2:09
  of
• 2:10
  Hormuz,
• 2:11
  where
• 2:11
  food
• 2:12
  and
• 2:12
  petrol
• 2:13
  and
• 2:13
  all
• 2:13
  sorts
• 2:13
  of
• 2:14
  things
• 2:14
  are
• 2:14
  going
• 2:14
  to
• 2:14
  be
• 2:14
  going
• 2:14
  up.
• 2:15
  So
• 2:15
  everyone
• 2:15
  sees
• 2:16
  the
• 2:16
  headlines,
• 2:16
  but
• 2:17
  they're
• 2:17
  also
• 2:17
  seeing
• 2:18
  things
• 2:18
  like
• 2:19
  their
• 2:19
  kiwisaver
• 2:20
  wobbling
• 2:20
  around
• 2:21
  and
• 2:21
  it's
• 2:21
  the
• 2:21
  worries
• 2:22
  about
• 2:22
  where
• 2:22
  to
• 2:23
  next,
• 2:23
  the
• 2:23
  interest
• 2:24
  rates.
• 2:24
  I
• 2:25
  think
• 2:25
  the
• 2:25
  big
• 2:25
  thing
• 2:25
  is
• 2:25
  the
• 2:26
  sense
• 2:26
  of
• 2:26
  the
• 2:26
  unknown
• 2:27
  and
• 2:27
  when
• 2:27
  the
• 2:27
  other
• 2:28
  shoe
• 2:28
  is
• 2:28
  going
• 2:28
  to
• 2:28
  drop,
• 2:29
  because
• 2:29
  people
• 2:29
  have
• 2:29
  been
• 2:29
  through
• 2:30
  it
• 2:30
  the
• 2:30
  last
• 2:30
  few
• 2:30
  years
• 2:31
  and
• 2:31
  there's
• 2:32
  not
• 2:32
  really
• 2:32
  much
• 2:32
  buffer
• 2:33
  left
• 2:33
  if
• 2:34
  things
• 2:34
  are
• 2:35
  feeling
• 2:35
  tight.
• 2:36
  Francis,
• 2:36
  what
• 2:37
  is
• 2:37
  the
• 2:37
  best
• 2:38
  first
• 2:38
  thing
• 2:39
  to
• 2:39
  cut
• 2:40
  back
• 2:40
  on?
• 2:40
  Is
• 2:41
  there
• 2:41
  any
• 2:41
  such
• 2:41
  thing
• 2:41
  as
• 2:42
  low
• 2:42
  hanging
• 2:43
  fruit?
• 2:43
  There
• 2:44
  usually
• 2:44
  is,
• 2:44
  yes.
• 2:46
  And
• 2:46
  it's,
• 2:46
  I
• 2:47
  think
• 2:47
  it's
• 2:47
  always
• 2:47
  in
• 2:48
  these
• 2:48
  situations
• 2:48
  you
• 2:49
  want
• 2:49
  to
• 2:49
  be
• 2:49
  like,
• 2:49
  okay,
• 2:50
  what
• 2:50
  are
• 2:50
  the
• 2:50
  things
• 2:51
  that
• 2:51
  I
• 2:51
  actually
• 2:51
  still
• 2:52
  can
• 2:52
  control?
• 2:52
  Because
• 2:53
  then
• 2:53
  you
• 2:53
  get
• 2:53
  back
• 2:54
  a
• 2:54
  bit
• 2:54
  of
• 2:54
  that
• 2:54
  power
• 2:55
  and
• 2:55
  you
• 2:55
  get
• 2:55
  to
• 2:56
  feel
• 2:57
  a
• 2:57
  bit
• 2:57
  less
• 2:57
  like
• 2:57
  doom
• 2:58
  scrolling
• 2:58
  relentlessly.
• 3:00
  So
• 3:00
  looking
• 3:00
  at
• 3:01
  what
• 3:01
  can
• 3:01
  you
• 3:02
  actually
• 3:02
  control?
• 3:02
  And
• 3:03
  I
• 3:03
  think
• 3:03
  often
• 3:04
  we're
• 3:04
  looking
• 3:05
  for,
• 3:05
  first
• 3:05
  of
• 3:05
  all,
• 3:06
  what
• 3:06
  things
• 3:06
  can
• 3:06
  you
• 3:06
  change
• 3:07
  that
• 3:07
  won't
• 3:07
  have
• 3:07
  much
• 3:08
  impact
• 3:08
  on
• 3:08
  your
• 3:08
  quality
• 3:09
  of
• 3:09
  life?
• 3:10
  Most
• 3:10
  people,
• 3:10
  and
• 3:11
  when
• 3:11
  I
• 3:11
  say
• 3:11
  most
• 3:11
  people,
• 3:12
  I
• 3:12
  mean
• 3:12
  the
• 3:12
  vast
• 3:13
  majority
• 3:13
  of
• 3:14
  people
• 3:14
  can
• 3:15
  save
• 3:15
  money
• 3:16
  on
• 3:16
  their
• 3:17
  power
• 3:17
  bill.
• 3:18
  And
• 3:18
  that
• 3:18
  is
• 3:18
  literally
• 3:19
  going
• 3:19
  to
• 3:19
  something
• 3:20
  like
• 3:20
  powerswitch.org
• 3:21
  nz
• 3:21
  and
• 3:22
  chucking
• 3:22
  in
• 3:23
  your
• 3:23
  numbers,
• 3:24
  comparing
• 3:24
  power
• 3:25
  bill
• 3:26
  power
• 3:26
  providers.
• 3:27
  And
• 3:27
  you
• 3:27
  can
• 3:27
  get
• 3:28
  the
• 3:28
  exact
• 3:28
  same
• 3:28
  power,
• 3:29
  often
• 3:29
  for
• 3:30
  lower.
• 3:31
  And
• 3:31
  I
• 3:31
  recommend
• 3:32
  people
• 3:32
  check
• 3:32
  their
• 3:33
  fixed
• 3:33
  costs
• 3:34
  about
• 3:34
  once
• 3:35
  a
• 3:35
  year.
• 3:35
  Just
• 3:35
  chuck
• 3:35
  a
• 3:36
  little
• 3:36
  reminder
• 3:36
  in
• 3:36
  your
• 3:36
  phone,
• 3:37
  it
• 3:37
  pops
• 3:37
  up
• 3:37
  once
• 3:37
  a
• 3:38
  year.
• 3:38
  Pick
• 3:38
  one
• 3:39
  of
• 3:39
  those
• 3:39
  fixed
• 3:39
  costs
• 3:40
  per
• 3:40
  week
• 3:40
  until
• 3:40
  you've
• 3:41
  rolled
• 3:41
  through
• 3:41
  all
• 3:41
  of
• 3:41
  them.
• 3:42
  But
• 3:42
  your
• 3:42
  power
• 3:43
  is
• 3:43
  a
• 3:43
  really
• 3:44
  good
• 3:45
  one.
• 3:45
  Also,
• 3:45
  if
• 3:46
  you're
• 3:46
  a
• 3:46
  renter,
• 3:47
  rents
• 3:48
  have
• 3:48
  been
• 3:48
  going
• 3:48
  down,
• 3:49
  so
• 3:49
  just
• 3:49
  jump
• 3:50
  online,
• 3:50
  have
• 3:50
  a
• 3:50
  little
• 3:51
  look
• 3:51
  at
• 3:51
  the
• 3:51
  rent
• 3:52
  prices
• 3:52
  in
• 3:52
  your
• 3:53
  area.
• 3:54
  You
• 3:54
  can
• 3:54
  have
• 3:54
  a
• 3:54
  little
• 3:54
  check
• 3:55
  of
• 3:55
  the
• 3:55
  listings
• 3:56
  and
• 3:57
  you
• 3:57
  can
• 3:57
  see,
• 3:57
  you
• 3:58
  know,
• 3:58
  what
• 3:59
  are
• 3:59
  the
• 3:59
  rents
• 3:59
  looking
• 4:00
  like
• 4:00
  in
• 4:00
  my
• 4:00
  area?
• 4:00
  Do
• 4:01
  I
• 4:01
  think
• 4:01
  that
• 4:01
  similar
• 4:02
  houses
• 4:02
  to
• 4:02
  mine
• 4:03
  are
• 4:03
  going
• 4:03
  for
• 4:03
  more
• 4:03
  or
• 4:04
  less
• 4:04
  than
• 4:04
  I'm
• 4:04
  paying?
• 4:05
  You
• 4:05
  might
• 4:05
  be
• 4:06
  able
• 4:06
  to
• 4:06
  get
• 4:06
  in
• 4:06
  touch
• 4:06
  with
• 4:07
  your
• 4:07
  landlord
• 4:07
  and
• 4:07
  say,
• 4:08
  hey,
• 4:08
  I've
• 4:09
  seen
• 4:09
  that
• 4:09
  a
• 4:09
  lot
• 4:09
  of
• 4:09
  other
• 4:10
  places
• 4:10
  around
• 4:12
  going
• 4:12
  for
• 4:12
  less
• 4:12
  than
• 4:13
  I'm
• 4:13
  currently
• 4:13
  paying.
• 4:14
  Would
• 4:14
  you
• 4:14
  be
• 4:14
  open
• 4:14
  to
• 4:15
  talking
• 4:15
  about
• 4:16
  a
• 4:16
  rent
• 4:16
  reduction?
• 4:17
  And
• 4:17
  if
• 4:18
  they're
• 4:18
  not,
• 4:18
  I
• 4:18
  mean,
• 4:19
  do
• 4:19
  consider
• 4:19
  moving.
• 4:20
  You
• 4:20
  don't
• 4:20
  get
• 4:21
  rent
• 4:21
  prices
• 4:21
  falling
• 4:22
  that
• 4:22
  often.
• 4:22
  Take
• 4:23
  advantage
• 4:23
  when
• 4:23
  they
• 4:23
  do.
• 4:24
  You
• 4:24
  want
• 4:24
  to
• 4:24
  aim
• 4:25
  for
• 4:25
  those
• 4:25
  big,
• 4:25
  big
• 4:26
  fixed
• 4:26
  costs.
• 4:26
  Yeah,
• 4:27
  that's
• 4:27
  great
• 4:27
  advice.
• 4:28
  On
• 4:28
  the
• 4:28
  power
• 4:29
  one
• 4:29
  one
• 4:29
  of
• 4:29
  our
• 4:29
  listeners
• 4:30
  has
• 4:30
  got
• 4:30
  in
• 4:30
  touch
• 4:31
  and
• 4:32
  now
• 4:32
  I
• 4:32
  don't
• 4:32
  expect
• 4:33
  you
• 4:33
  to
• 4:34
  have
• 4:34
  a
• 4:34
  thorough
• 4:34
  answer
• 4:35
  to
• 4:35
  this,
• 4:35
  Francis,
• 4:35
  but
• 4:36
  have
• 4:36
  you
• 4:36
  looked
• 4:36
  into
• 4:36
  solar
• 4:37
  at
• 4:37
  all?
• 4:37
  They
• 4:37
  say
• 4:38
  we're
• 4:38
  about
• 4:38
  to
• 4:38
  get
• 4:38
  solar
• 4:38
  panels
• 4:39
  on
• 4:39
  our
• 4:39
  house,
• 4:40
  a
• 4:40
  zero
• 4:40
  percent
• 4:41
  loan
• 4:41
  for
• 4:41
  five
• 4:42
  years.
• 4:43
  We've
• 4:43
  got
• 4:43
  enough
• 4:43
  money
• 4:44
  to
• 4:44
  pay
• 4:44
  it
• 4:44
  back
• 4:44
  in
• 4:44
  that
• 4:44
  time,
• 4:45
  but
• 4:45
  only
• 4:45
  just.
• 4:45
  And
• 4:46
  they're
• 4:46
  wondering
• 4:46
  if
• 4:46
  solar
• 4:46
  is
• 4:47
  a
• 4:47
  good
• 4:47
  investment
• 4:47
  right
• 4:47
  now
• 4:48
  with
• 4:48
  price
• 4:48
  uncertainty,
• 4:49
  or
• 4:49
  should
• 4:50
  they
• 4:50
  stay
• 4:50
  within
• 4:50
  their
• 4:50
  budget
• 4:51
  and
• 4:51
  pay
• 4:51
  their
• 4:52
  electricity
• 4:52
  bill
• 4:52
  as
• 4:53
  it
• 4:53
  is?
• 4:53
  It's
• 4:53
  a
• 4:53
  tough
• 4:53
  one,
• 4:54
  but
• 4:54
  because
• 4:54
  Jenny's
• 4:55
  asked,
• 4:55
  I
• 4:55
  thought
• 4:55
  I'D
• 4:55
  pass
• 4:55
  it
• 4:55
  on
• 4:55
  to
• 4:56
  you.
• 4:56
  Oh,
• 4:56
  I'm
• 4:57
  actually
• 4:57
  so
• 4:57
  happy
• 4:57
  to
• 4:58
  jump
• 4:58
  into
• 4:58
  this
• 4:58
  one
• 4:58
  because
• 4:59
  I
• 4:59
  have
• 4:59
  made
• 4:59
  the
• 4:59
  step
• 5:00
  of
• 5:00
  investing
• 5:00
  into
• 5:00
  solar
• 5:01
  for
• 5:01
  myself.
• 5:02
  So
• 5:02
  I
• 5:02
  have
• 5:02
  personal
• 5:03
  experience
• 5:03
  on
• 5:03
  this
• 5:04
  one
• 5:04
  and
• 5:05
  I
• 5:05
  would
• 5:05
  say
• 5:05
  solar
• 5:06
  is
• 5:06
  a
• 5:06
  big
• 5:06
  investment.
• 5:07
  It's
• 5:07
  easier
• 5:08
  if
• 5:08
  you're
• 5:08
  a
• 5:09
  homeowner
• 5:10
  because
• 5:10
  then
• 5:10
  you
• 5:10
  can
• 5:11
  do
• 5:11
  things
• 5:11
  like
• 5:11
  you
• 5:11
  can
• 5:11
  access
• 5:12
  these
• 5:12
  green
• 5:12
  loans,
• 5:13
  these
• 5:13
  0%
• 5:13
  loans
• 5:14
  that
• 5:14
  a
• 5:14
  lot
• 5:14
  of
• 5:15
  banks
• 5:15
  have
• 5:15
  these
• 5:16
  days
• 5:16
  and
• 5:17
  work
• 5:17
  really
• 5:17
  hard
• 5:17
  to
• 5:18
  pay
• 5:18
  it
• 5:18
  off
• 5:18
  within
• 5:18
  that
• 5:19
  time.
• 5:20
  But
• 5:20
  if
• 5:20
  you're
• 5:21
  able
• 5:21
  to
• 5:21
  do
• 5:21
  that
• 5:21
  and
• 5:21
  you're
• 5:22
  able
• 5:22
  to
• 5:22
  pay
• 5:22
  it
• 5:22
  off
• 5:22
  quickly.
• 5:24
  Now
• 5:24
  this
• 5:24
  is
• 5:24
  off
• 5:24
  the
• 5:24
  top
• 5:24
  of
• 5:24
  my
• 5:25
  head,
• 5:25
  so
• 5:25
  I
• 5:25
  can't
• 5:25
  remember
• 5:26
  how
• 5:26
  we
• 5:27
  calculated
• 5:27
  it
• 5:27
  at.
• 5:28
  I
• 5:28
  think
• 5:28
  we
• 5:29
  calculated
• 5:29
  for
• 5:29
  our
• 5:30
  home
• 5:30
  and
• 5:30
  with
• 5:30
  our
• 5:31
  power
• 5:31
  usage
• 5:32
  that
• 5:32
  we
• 5:33
  would
• 5:33
  be,
• 5:33
  it
• 5:34
  would
• 5:34
  be
• 5:34
  all
• 5:34
  paid
• 5:35
  off
• 5:35
  and
• 5:35
  making
• 5:36
  money
• 5:36
  for
• 5:36
  us
• 5:36
  over
• 5:37
  the
• 5:37
  initial
• 5:37
  investment
• 5:38
  within
• 5:39
  seven
• 5:39
  years.
• 5:39
  And
• 5:40
  we're
• 5:40
  quite
• 5:40
  a
• 5:41
  high
• 5:41
  power
• 5:41
  usage
• 5:42
  family.
• 5:42
  We've
• 5:42
  got
• 5:43
  two
• 5:43
  kids
• 5:43
  and
• 5:44
  we
• 5:44
  work
• 5:44
  from
• 5:44
  home
• 5:45
  and
• 5:45
  I
• 5:45
  like
• 5:46
  using
• 5:46
  the
• 5:46
  aircon
• 5:46
  in
• 5:47
  summer,
• 5:47
  you
• 5:47
  know,
• 5:48
  so
• 5:48
  we
• 5:49
  are
• 5:49
  quite
• 5:49
  high
• 5:49
  usage
• 5:50
  and
• 5:50
  it
• 5:50
  really,
• 5:50
  really
• 5:51
  worked
• 5:51
  for
• 5:51
  us.
• 5:52
  We
• 5:52
  also
• 5:52
  decided
• 5:53
  to
• 5:53
  lean
• 5:53
  into
• 5:53
  it
• 5:53
  further
• 5:54
  with
• 5:54
  things
• 5:54
  like
• 5:55
  electric
• 5:55
  vehicle.
• 5:56
  So
• 5:57
  I
• 5:57
  think
• 5:57
  solar
• 5:58
  can
• 5:58
  be
• 5:59
  amazing
• 5:59
  where
• 6:00
  I
• 6:00
  would
• 6:00
  be
• 6:00
  cautious
• 6:01
  to
• 6:01
  people
• 6:02
  who
• 6:02
  are
• 6:02
  considering
• 6:03
  it,
• 6:03
  be
• 6:03
  really
• 6:04
  careful
• 6:04
  of.
• 6:04
  You
• 6:04
  can
• 6:05
  get
• 6:05
  some
• 6:05
  schemes
• 6:06
  where
• 6:06
  they
• 6:06
  sort
• 6:07
  of
• 6:07
  rent
• 6:08
  your
• 6:08
  roof,
• 6:09
  you
• 6:09
  don't
• 6:09
  really
• 6:10
  own
• 6:10
  it.
• 6:10
  There's
• 6:11
  been
• 6:11
  some
• 6:11
  real
• 6:12
  sticky
• 6:12
  situations
• 6:13
  with
• 6:13
  those.
• 6:13
  I
• 6:14
  personally
• 6:14
  would
• 6:14
  approach
• 6:15
  that
• 6:15
  with
• 6:15
  extreme
• 6:16
  caution.
• 6:17
  Probably
• 6:17
  not
• 6:17
  go
• 6:17
  there.
• 6:18
  Thank
• 6:18
  you.
• 6:19
  Which
• 6:19
  insurance
• 6:20
  should
• 6:20
  we
• 6:20
  cut
• 6:21
  first,
• 6:21
  Francis?
• 6:22
  Oh,
• 6:23
  yeah,
• 6:23
  insurance
• 6:24
  has
• 6:24
  gotten
• 6:24
  really
• 6:24
  expensive
• 6:25
  for
• 6:25
  people
• 6:26
  and
• 6:26
  the
• 6:26
  warning
• 6:26
  is
• 6:26
  that
• 6:27
  it's
• 6:27
  actually
• 6:27
  probably
• 6:27
  going
• 6:27
  to
• 6:28
  continue
• 6:28
  to
• 6:28
  get
• 6:28
  expensive.
• 6:29
  Sorry
• 6:29
  to
• 6:29
  be
• 6:29
  the
• 6:30
  bad
• 6:30
  news
• 6:30
  fairy.
• 6:31
  I
• 6:31
  think
• 6:31
  we
• 6:32
  often
• 6:32
  get
• 6:32
  our
• 6:32
  insurance
• 6:33
  priorities
• 6:33
  upside
• 6:34
  down.
• 6:34
  We
• 6:35
  often
• 6:35
  insure
• 6:35
  our
• 6:35
  stuff
• 6:36
  first
• 6:36
  because
• 6:36
  you
• 6:37
  can
• 6:37
  see
• 6:37
  it,
• 6:37
  you're
• 6:37
  reminded
• 6:38
  of
• 6:38
  it.
• 6:39
  What
• 6:39
  you
• 6:39
  want
• 6:39
  to
• 6:40
  use
• 6:40
  for
• 6:40
  insurance
• 6:41
  is
• 6:41
  anything
• 6:42
  that
• 6:42
  would
• 6:42
  be
• 6:43
  really,
• 6:43
  really
• 6:43
  bad
• 6:43
  for
• 6:44
  your
• 6:44
  life
• 6:44
  that
• 6:44
  you
• 6:44
  couldn't
• 6:45
  deal
• 6:45
  with
• 6:45
  on
• 6:45
  your
• 6:45
  own.
• 6:46
  So
• 6:47
  actually
• 6:47
  the
• 6:48
  priority
• 6:48
  for
• 6:48
  insurance
• 6:49
  is
• 6:49
  often
• 6:50
  people,
• 6:50
  then
• 6:50
  money,
• 6:51
  then
• 6:51
  stuff.
• 6:53
  So
• 6:53
  you
• 6:53
  might
• 6:53
  be
• 6:54
  thinking
• 6:54
  about
• 6:54
  life
• 6:55
  insurance
• 6:55
  or
• 6:56
  health
• 6:56
  insurance
• 6:57
  or,
• 6:58
  you
• 6:58
  know,
• 6:58
  if
• 6:59
  you're
• 6:59
  the
• 6:59
  main
• 6:59
  earner
• 7:00
  in
• 7:00
  your
• 7:00
  family
• 7:01
  and
• 7:01
  you've
• 7:02
  got
• 7:02
  dependent
• 7:02
  kids
• 7:03
  and
• 7:03
  a
• 7:03
  mortgage,
• 7:04
  something
• 7:04
  like
• 7:04
  life
• 7:05
  insurance
• 7:05
  is
• 7:05
  probably
• 7:06
  a
• 7:06
  really
• 7:06
  good
• 7:06
  idea.
• 7:08
  Whereas
• 7:08
  insuring
• 7:08
  your
• 7:09
  phone,
• 7:09
  maybe
• 7:10
  you
• 7:10
  could
• 7:10
  get
• 7:10
  by
• 7:11
  without
• 7:11
  that,
• 7:11
  even
• 7:12
  if
• 7:12
  it's,
• 7:12
  you
• 7:12
  know,
• 7:12
  a
• 7:13
  bit
• 7:13
  of
• 7:13
  a
• 7:13
  pain
• 7:13
  in
• 7:13
  the
• 7:13
  bum,
• 7:14
  or
• 7:15
  you
• 7:15
  could
• 7:15
  fund
• 7:15
  it
• 7:15
  yourself
• 7:16
  out
• 7:16
  of
• 7:16
  savings.
• 7:17
  So
• 7:17
  what
• 7:17
  you
• 7:18
  really
• 7:18
  want
• 7:18
  to
• 7:18
  think
• 7:18
  about
• 7:19
  is
• 7:20
  what
• 7:20
  would
• 7:20
  really
• 7:20
  upend
• 7:21
  my
• 7:21
  life?
• 7:23
  And
• 7:23
  then
• 7:23
  if
• 7:23
  you're
• 7:23
  trying
• 7:23
  to
• 7:23
  make
• 7:24
  it
• 7:24
  cheaper,
• 7:24
  don't
• 7:25
  forget
• 7:25
  that
• 7:27
  you
• 7:27
  can
• 7:28
  have
• 7:29
  a
• 7:29
  higher
• 7:30
  amount
• 7:31
  that
• 7:31
  you
• 7:31
  would
• 7:31
  pay
• 7:31
  yourself,
• 7:32
  but
• 7:33
  you
• 7:33
  can
• 7:33
  also
• 7:33
  look
• 7:34
  at
• 7:34
  things
• 7:34
  like
• 7:34
  if
• 7:35
  you're
• 7:35
  part
• 7:35
  of
• 7:35
  your
• 7:35
  union
• 7:36
  or
• 7:36
  if
• 7:37
  you
• 7:37
  are
• 7:37
  part
• 7:37
  of
• 7:37
  a
• 7:37
  workplace
• 7:38
  scheme,
• 7:39
  sometimes
• 7:39
  that
• 7:40
  can
• 7:40
  be
• 7:40
  a
• 7:40
  cheaper
• 7:40
  way
• 7:40
  to
• 7:40
  get
• 7:41
  hold
• 7:41
  of
• 7:41
  insurance
• 7:41
  and
• 7:42
  it's
• 7:42
  really
• 7:42
  worth
• 7:42
  looking
• 7:43
  into.
• 7:43
  Thank
• 7:44
  you.
• 7:44
  Is
• 7:45
  it
• 7:46
  understandable
• 7:47
  or
• 7:47
  even
• 7:48
  wise
• 7:48
  to
• 7:49
  pause
• 7:49
  kiwisaver
• 7:50
  contributions
• 7:51
  when
• 7:51
  the
• 7:52
  cost
• 7:52
  of
• 7:52
  living
• 7:53
  rises?
• 7:53
  It's
• 7:54
  understandable.
• 7:55
  I
• 7:55
  would
• 7:56
  say
• 7:56
  try
• 7:56
  not
• 7:57
  to
• 7:57
  if
• 7:57
  you
• 7:57
  can
• 7:58
  at
• 7:58
  all
• 7:58
  because
• 7:58
  it's
• 7:59
  going
• 7:59
  to
• 7:59
  have
• 7:59
  such
• 8:00
  a
• 8:00
  big
• 8:00
  impact
• 8:00
  on
• 8:01
  you
• 8:01
  later.
• 8:02
  Even
• 8:02
  if
• 8:02
  you
• 8:02
  wind
• 8:03
  back
• 8:03
  your
• 8:04
  contributions
• 8:04
  a
• 8:04
  little
• 8:05
  bit,
• 8:05
  you
• 8:05
  know,
• 8:05
  try
• 8:05
  to
• 8:06
  make
• 8:06
  sure
• 8:06
  you're
• 8:06
  getting
• 8:06
  the
• 8:07
  maximum
• 8:07
  match
• 8:08
  from
• 8:08
  your
• 8:08
  employer
• 8:09
  because
• 8:10
  otherwise
• 8:10
  it's
• 8:10
  basically
• 8:10
  like
• 8:11
  giving
• 8:11
  up
• 8:11
  a
• 8:11
  pay
• 8:11
  rise
• 8:12
  at
• 8:12
  the
• 8:12
  same
• 8:12
  time
• 8:12
  and
• 8:13
  you're
• 8:13
  going
• 8:13
  to
• 8:13
  miss
• 8:13
  out
• 8:13
  on
• 8:13
  things
• 8:14
  like
• 8:14
  the
• 8:14
  government
• 8:14
  contribution.
• 8:15
  And
• 8:15
  even
• 8:16
  though
• 8:16
  they
• 8:16
  have
• 8:16
  reduced
• 8:17
  that,
• 8:17
  it's
• 8:17
  still
• 8:17
  worth
• 8:18
  getting
• 8:18
  what
• 8:19
  is
• 8:19
  there.
• 8:20
  So
• 8:20
  I
• 8:20
  would
• 8:21
  say
• 8:21
  cut
• 8:22
  other
• 8:22
  things
• 8:23
  before
• 8:23
  that.
• 8:24
  If
• 8:24
  you
• 8:24
  really,
• 8:24
  really
• 8:25
  need
• 8:25
  to
• 8:25
  cut
• 8:26
  your
• 8:26
  kiwisaver,
• 8:27
  then
• 8:27
  I
• 8:27
  would
• 8:28
  say,
• 8:28
  you
• 8:28
  know,
• 8:28
  try
• 8:28
  and
• 8:28
  put
• 8:29
  it
• 8:29
  on
• 8:29
  a
• 8:29
  timer
• 8:29
  of
• 8:30
  six
• 8:30
  months
• 8:30
  or
• 8:31
  something
• 8:31
  so
• 8:32
  that
• 8:32
  you
• 8:32
  come
• 8:32
  back
• 8:32
  to
• 8:32
  it
• 8:32
  because
• 8:34
  you'll
• 8:34
  hit
• 8:34
  that
• 8:35
  20
• 8:35
  or
• 8:35
  30
• 8:35
  years
• 8:35
  in
• 8:36
  the
• 8:36
  future.
• 8:36
  You'll
• 8:36
  really
• 8:37
  regret
• 8:37
  it.
• 8:38
  If
• 8:38
  we
• 8:38
  know
• 8:39
  the
• 8:39
  prices
• 8:39
  are
• 8:39
  likely
• 8:40
  to
• 8:40
  go
• 8:40
  up
• 8:40
  in
• 8:40
  the
• 8:40
  supermarket,
• 8:41
  it's
• 8:41
  a
• 8:41
  good
• 8:41
  idea
• 8:42
  to
• 8:42
  stock
• 8:42
  up
• 8:43
  on.
• 8:43
  On
• 8:43
  stuff
• 8:44
  that
• 8:44
  keeps.
• 8:45
  Yeah,
• 8:46
  well,
• 8:46
  see,
• 8:46
  this
• 8:47
  is
• 8:47
  a
• 8:47
  tricky
• 8:47
  one,
• 8:47
  right,
• 8:47
  because
• 8:48
  I
• 8:48
  don't
• 8:48
  want
• 8:48
  to
• 8:48
  encourage
• 8:49
  people
• 8:49
  to
• 8:49
  panic
• 8:49
  buy.
• 8:50
  I
• 8:50
  think
• 8:50
  we
• 8:50
  all
• 8:50
  remember
• 8:51
  the
• 8:51
  toilet
• 8:51
  paper
• 8:51
  from
• 8:51
  COVID
• 8:52
  Times.
• 8:52
  I
• 8:52
  think
• 8:52
  some
• 8:53
  people
• 8:53
  are
• 8:53
  still
• 8:54
  working
• 8:54
  through
• 8:54
  their
• 8:55
  stash.
• 8:56
  But
• 8:57
  things
• 8:57
  like
• 8:58
  there
• 8:58
  is
• 8:58
  an
• 8:58
  issue,
• 8:58
  right,
• 8:59
  where
• 8:59
  the
• 9:00
  food
• 9:00
  price
• 9:00
  is
• 9:00
  going
• 9:01
  up.
• 9:01
  Things
• 9:02
  like
• 9:02
  wheat
• 9:02
  could
• 9:03
  be
• 9:03
  a
• 9:03
  real
• 9:03
  problem,
• 9:05
  which
• 9:05
  could
• 9:05
  be
• 9:05
  interesting.
• 9:06
  That's
• 9:06
  such
• 9:06
  a
• 9:06
  staple
• 9:07
  food.
• 9:08
  I
• 9:08
  think
• 9:08
  if
• 9:09
  you
• 9:09
  just
• 9:09
  pick
• 9:09
  up,
• 9:10
  you
• 9:10
  know,
• 9:10
  a
• 9:10
  couple
• 9:10
  of
• 9:10
  little
• 9:10
  extra
• 9:11
  cans
• 9:11
  here
• 9:11
  and
• 9:11
  there
• 9:12
  or
• 9:12
  a
• 9:12
  couple
• 9:12
  of
• 9:12
  bags
• 9:13
  of
• 9:13
  flour
• 9:13
  here
• 9:13
  and
• 9:13
  there.
• 9:14
  As
• 9:14
  long
• 9:14
  as
• 9:14
  you're
• 9:14
  not
• 9:15
  panic
• 9:15
  buying,
• 9:16
  I
• 9:16
  don't
• 9:16
  think
• 9:16
  it's
• 9:17
  silly
• 9:18
  to
• 9:18
  pick
• 9:18
  up
• 9:18
  a
• 9:19
  couple
• 9:19
  of
• 9:19
  extra
• 9:20
  staples
• 9:20
  of
• 9:20
  things
• 9:21
  you
• 9:21
  get
• 9:21
  through
• 9:21
  a
• 9:22
  lot
• 9:22
  of.
• 9:23
  And
• 9:23
  having
• 9:23
  that
• 9:23
  on
• 9:24
  hand
• 9:24
  just,
• 9:24
  you
• 9:24
  know,
• 9:25
  within
• 9:25
  reason.
• 9:26
  Anything
• 9:26
  we
• 9:26
  haven't
• 9:27
  discussed
• 9:27
  that
• 9:27
  might
• 9:27
  be
• 9:28
  helpful
• 9:28
  for
• 9:28
  people
• 9:28
  to
• 9:29
  think
• 9:29
  about
• 9:29
  as
• 9:29
  things
• 9:29
  get
• 9:30
  tight.
• 9:30
  I
• 9:30
  think
• 9:30
  the
• 9:31
  big
• 9:31
  thing
• 9:31
  is
• 9:32
  look
• 9:32
  for
• 9:33
  little
• 9:33
  money
• 9:33
  leaks
• 9:34
  that
• 9:34
  can
• 9:35
  sneak
• 9:36
  past
• 9:36
  you
• 9:36
  at
• 9:37
  a
• 9:37
  chronic
• 9:37
  one
• 9:37
  is
• 9:38
  subscriptions.
• 9:39
  Businesses
• 9:39
  love
• 9:39
  a
• 9:40
  subscription
• 9:40
  model
• 9:40
  these
• 9:41
  days.
• 9:41
  They're
• 9:41
  all
• 9:41
  trying
• 9:41
  to
• 9:42
  get
• 9:42
  you
• 9:42
  to
• 9:42
  subscription
• 9:42
  to
• 9:42
  subscribe.
• 9:44
  And
• 9:44
  that's
• 9:45
  for
• 9:45
  a
• 9:45
  really
• 9:45
  good
• 9:45
  reason.
• 9:46
  They
• 9:46
  make
• 9:46
  a
• 9:46
  lot
• 9:46
  of
• 9:46
  money
• 9:47
  from
• 9:47
  it.
• 9:47
  And
• 9:48
  we
• 9:48
  often
• 9:48
  forget
• 9:49
  we
• 9:49
  have
• 9:49
  these
• 9:49
  subscriptions,
• 9:50
  we
• 9:50
  don't
• 9:50
  even
• 9:50
  use
• 9:51
  the
• 9:51
  service
• 9:51
  at
• 9:51
  all.
• 9:52
  So
• 9:52
  just
• 9:53
  have
• 9:53
  a
• 9:53
  little
• 9:53
  go
• 9:54
  through,
• 9:54
  you
• 9:54
  know,
• 9:54
  pour
• 9:54
  yourself
• 9:55
  a
• 9:55
  glass
• 9:55
  of
• 9:55
  wine
• 9:56
  or
• 9:56
  get
• 9:56
  yourself
• 9:56
  a
• 9:56
  packet
• 9:57
  of
• 9:57
  chocolate
• 9:57
  biscuits,
• 9:58
  whatever
• 9:58
  is
• 9:58
  your
• 9:58
  little
• 9:59
  treat.
• 9:59
  Bribe
• 10:00
  yourself,
• 10:00
  huge
• 10:00
  fan
• 10:01
  of
• 10:01
  bribing
• 10:01
  yourself
• 10:02
  and
• 10:03
  sit
• 10:03
  down
• 10:04
  with
• 10:04
  that
• 10:04
  bank
• 10:05
  statement
• 10:05
  and
• 10:05
  just
• 10:06
  look
• 10:06
  for
• 10:06
  any
• 10:06
  of
• 10:06
  those
• 10:07
  little
• 10:07
  subscription
• 10:08
  costs
• 10:08
  that
• 10:08
  go
• 10:08
  out
• 10:08
  because
• 10:08
  they're
• 10:09
  so,
• 10:09
  so
• 10:09
  easy
• 10:09
  to
• 10:09
  miss.
• 10:10
  And
• 10:10
  then
• 10:10
  just
• 10:11
  with
• 10:11
  each
• 10:11
  one
• 10:11
  of
• 10:11
  them,
• 10:12
  ask
• 10:12
  yourself,
• 10:12
  am
• 10:12
  I
• 10:13
  using
• 10:13
  this?
• 10:13
  Do
• 10:14
  I
• 10:14
  really
• 10:14
  want
• 10:14
  it?
• 10:15
  Do
• 10:15
  I
• 10:15
  use
• 10:15
  it?
• 10:15
  Do
• 10:15
  I
• 10:16
  enjoy
• 10:16
  it?
• 10:17
  And
• 10:17
  if
• 10:17
  it
• 10:17
  doesn't
• 10:18
  fit
• 10:18
  those
• 10:18
  criteria,
• 10:19
  cut
• 10:19
  it
• 10:19
  and
• 10:19
  you
• 10:20
  won't
• 10:20
  even
• 10:20
  notice
• 10:20
  a
• 10:20
  difference
• 10:21
  in
• 10:21
  your
• 10:21
  life.
• 10:21
  Hey,
• 10:22
  excellent
• 10:22

• 10:23
  Thanks
• 10:23
  so

  much,

• 10:24
