- 0:00Speaker 1: If you go to the New York Post website, you
- 0:01Speaker 1: can get all of his columns. They're all up there,
- 0:03Speaker 1: and he's with us every Monday. Michael Goodwin, how you doing,
- 0:07Speaker 1: Good morning, Mark, Thank you, Hey. You wrote about Michigan. Now,
- 0:12Speaker 1: we've had the crazy Socialists win congressional seats, but it's
- 0:15Speaker 1: always in a crazy little left wing district in the Midwest.
- 0:19Speaker 1: But this is the first time a crazy socialists tried
- 0:22Speaker 1: to win a state wide race out in the heartland.
- 0:26Speaker 1: What do you think else Id's chances are, well.
- 0:31Speaker 2: You're right Mark that this is a mark departure from
- 0:35Speaker 2: what we expect from that part of the country. He
- 0:41Speaker 2: definitely has a chance to win. The Muslim alone is
- 0:46Speaker 2: very important, and of course this is a mid term
- 0:51Speaker 2: so you tend to have pretty high turnouts against the
- 0:56Speaker 2: party in power. So I think Michael Rodgers is a
- 1:01Speaker 2: very credible Republican opponent. But I do think at this
- 1:06Speaker 2: stage he's going to have to flip some Democrats and
- 1:12Speaker 2: the moderates He's independence, He's going to have to win
- 1:16Speaker 2: a big share of those to win, because I think
- 1:20Speaker 2: the Democrats are feel that, you know, as the out party,
- 1:25Speaker 2: they had the upper hand and the polls so far
- 1:28Speaker 2: showed them with a big generic lead across the country,
- 1:32Speaker 2: but outside I think has a lot of baggage. And
- 1:36Speaker 2: if Rogers is good, if the Republican National Party pours
- 1:42Speaker 2: enough money in there, he should be able to win
- 1:45Speaker 2: that state.
- 1:47Speaker 1: Yeah, well, that's the good news. Republican National Party, the
- 1:51Speaker 1: rnc's got something like a billion dollars on hand, and
- 1:55Speaker 1: Democratic Party, the DNC is pretty much broke right now,
- 1:58Speaker 1: so that's the good Yeah. Yeah. What about President Trump?
- 2:02Speaker 1: Sh did he get involved in that with that help
- 2:04Speaker 1: or hurt?
- 2:06Speaker 2: Well, he of course did win Michigan in twenty four
- 2:10Speaker 2: but I think that the President right now touched both ways,
- 2:16Speaker 2: and so I think, particularly on the two issues of
- 2:20Speaker 2: Iran and the economy, his stock has fallen. So I
- 2:25Speaker 2: think Rogers should handle this mostly on his own. There
- 2:30Speaker 2: should be some surrogates who are popular in the region,
- 2:35Speaker 2: maybe Vice Preader in dance, maybe Mico Rubio, but I
- 2:40Speaker 2: think this is going to be a tough race. I
- 2:43Speaker 2: was just reading also Mark a piece about the socialists
- 2:47Speaker 2: running for governor to be the Democratic nominee for governor
- 2:51Speaker 2: in Wisconsin. So you know the Midwest, we also have
- 2:56Speaker 2: Minnesota of course with Anon Omar, the mid Us is
- 3:00Speaker 2: looking kookier and kookier.
- 3:03Speaker 1: Yeah, he uh this out say, he's been a vicious
- 3:07Speaker 1: critic of Chuck Schumer's attacking Chuck Schumer like crazy, Yet
- 3:10Speaker 1: as you point out, Chuck Schumer just falls into line.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Why the hell is that? What is wrong with Schumer?
- 3:17Speaker 2: Well, Schumer, I think only mostly cares about Schumer and
- 3:23Speaker 2: he wants to be majority leader and they can't. That
- 3:27Speaker 2: can't happen if Democrats don't take up four seats and
- 3:32Speaker 2: they're counting, you know, if it can take up the
- 3:35Speaker 2: Michigan seat or hold it anyway, if they were to
- 3:38Speaker 2: lose it, then I think that would do any chance
- 3:42Speaker 2: or Chuck Schumer ever being the majority leader again.
- 3:46Speaker 1: Yeah, well, of course you're right, he wants to be
- 3:47Speaker 1: majority leader and back in power. But oh that's frightening.
- 3:51Speaker 1: But but yeah.
- 3:53Speaker 2: Nobody wants nobody wants to be minority leader anywhere.
- 3:58Speaker 1: So uh. And they're all for a cutting aid to
- 4:02Speaker 1: Israel all this stuff. Where did this all start?
- 4:05Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 4:05Speaker 1: This anti Israel, and it's really anti Semitism. And when
- 4:09Speaker 1: when you come to these socialists, it's they're always anti Semitics.
- 4:14Speaker 1: What where did this all spring up from originally in
- 4:17Speaker 1: the Democratic Party?
- 4:20Speaker 2: You know, I think Mark, it's sort of a very
- 4:24Speaker 2: fringe element going back to the Clinton days. There were
- 4:30Speaker 2: always these kind of fringe nut jobs on the edge
- 4:34Speaker 2: of the Democratic Party. But now in the age of
- 4:39Speaker 2: Bernie Sanders and AOC and the others, they've gone mainstream.
- 4:45Speaker 2: And of course Mom Donnie, and a lot of it
- 4:49Speaker 2: is generational, right, And I think that Mom Donnie refuses
- 4:55Speaker 2: to sort of recognize Israel as the homeland of the
- 5:00Speaker 2: Jewish people really is beyond the pale. And yet that
- 5:06Speaker 2: is a contagious idea, the colonizer, the white you know,
- 5:10Speaker 2: the students where in the kaffeas as though there's some
- 5:13Speaker 2: kind of symbol. Yeah, yes, sir, I are fact, that's
- 5:17Speaker 2: whore the Kafiah, right, Yeah, I mean so I was
- 5:21Speaker 2: just freading the story also and the Jewish Israeli media.
- 5:26Speaker 2: This is the twenty fifth anniversary of the bombing of
- 5:30Speaker 2: the Sabarro's Piece of store in Jerusalem, and you know,
- 5:36Speaker 2: thinking about Mark, it's also the twenty fifth anniversary of
- 5:40Speaker 2: Mine eleven coming up. So that was a really barbaric
- 5:44Speaker 2: stretch that was going on in the world, and Unfortunately,
- 5:49Speaker 2: I think a lot of this anti Semitism was born
- 5:53Speaker 2: out of Muslim terrorism al Kaeda and the others, and
- 5:59Speaker 2: yet gained credibility among a new generation, which I might
- 6:04Speaker 2: a loss to explain. It makes makes no logical sense
- 6:09Speaker 2: other than it's pure hatred for Israel and for America.
- 6:15Speaker 1: Yeah. Hey, I don't know if you've noticed this. We
- 6:17Speaker 1: talked about this earlier.
- 6:18Speaker 2: Mom.
- 6:18Speaker 1: Donny is all of a sudden out on the town
- 6:21Speaker 1: at these uh yeah, swanky Upper east side restaurants. He
- 6:24Speaker 1: was this weekend. Baltus are the very cool hotspot downtown.
- 6:29Speaker 1: Well what is that all about that? You're not supposed
- 6:31Speaker 1: to do that if you're a socialist, are you?
- 6:35Speaker 2: Yeah? I think that that's a secret life of socialists, right, yeah,
- 6:41Speaker 2: what they want to live, Well, they just don't want
- 6:44Speaker 2: you to live. Well, look, he's got He doesn't like
- 6:48Speaker 2: to talks, but he has security. Right. Uh. He pushes
- 6:53Speaker 2: about the subway. I don't know, have you ever seen
- 6:56Speaker 2: him on the subway? No, I don't know. You've seen
- 6:59Speaker 2: a picture of him on the subway. So he is
- 7:03Speaker 2: living the socialist life. He lives in a mansion paid
- 7:07Speaker 2: by coxpayers. I mean that's kind of the socialist Serene right,
- 7:12Speaker 2: somebody you get to spelled off all of your Carl
- 7:16Speaker 2: Marks nonsense and you get to live high on the
- 7:19Speaker 2: hog with somebody else paying for it.
