Transcript
- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to OnlyFin's Q&A Live, a question and answer show as exclusive to OnlyFin's.
- 0:06[SPEAKER_00]: And Miami Dawkins discord server.
- 0:08[SPEAKER_00]: Now, here's your host, out.
- 0:11[SPEAKER_00]: And we're on this OnlyFin's Q&A Live for February the 23rd, 2026.
- 0:17[SPEAKER_00]: This is combat week, one of my favorite weeks of the year, and I have a guest host with me for today.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, this is by the way, this is not.
- 0:25[SPEAKER_00]: the offseason.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_00]: We will do that show later on this week.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_00]: This is the first of many Q&A shows as it's combined week, or as I like to affectionately call it, muscular men and underwear week.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_00]: Kind of fun, right?
- 0:39[SPEAKER_00]: You kind of used to that.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_00]: You see muscular men and their underwear all the time, right?
- 0:44[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I guess if you want to put it that way, that is one way to describe what I do for living in the professional wrestling business,
- 0:54[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_00]: Unfortunately, I do think that this muscular men in underwear week will be no longer very, very, very, very soon, due to the N.I.L.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_00]: era.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if you're paying attention, but a lot of the guys you want to see run and, you know, and compete in their underwear are not going to.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_00]: The top prospects that quarterback are not throwing.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_00]: So it's gonna be an un-reventful week and we do have Thursday, it's defensive line linebacker's tight ends, Friday is DB's and tight ends.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_00]: Saturday is quarterbacks, wide receivers and runningbacks and Sunday March 1st is the offensive line.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_00]: I'll be in poor singles, but I record all those things and then watch them later.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_00]: But it seems like the top prospects are not gonna participate.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_00]: Do you agree with me, Marick,
- 1:44[SPEAKER_00]: The combine won't be around, let's say, five years from now.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_01]: I see it trending that way, but I also think the NFL, like, they know when to tighten the reins.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 1:59[SPEAKER_01]: Like, they're going to try and figure something out.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_01]: They're trying to swing their weight around to make sure that the combine sticks around.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_01]: They want to control.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_01]: every month out of the year, health and you know, the Super Bowl just happened in February and and you know, and now we're at the end of February going into March, free agency next month, they just want to control the sporting calendar and they really do.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_01]: So I can't see it completely going away.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like the NFL trying to come up with some reason why it needs to stick around.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but um, now we shall see we're gonna talk a little bit about the, about the combine here in the second half of the shows we get some questions.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know how many questions we're gonna get in the chat.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_00]: It's kind of like the dead period on only fans right now as people are gearing up toward the draft.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_00]: But if you want to participate, you got to come to our Discord and to do that.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_00]: You got to discord.gg forward slash only fans and you become a member
- 2:59[SPEAKER_00]: Alright, and I found this step and this is pretty interesting, okay?
- 3:05[SPEAKER_00]: Check this out.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_00]: There's three gold medalists, right?
- 3:08[SPEAKER_00]: Three gold medalists, Team USA teams, Mantaki.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_00]: They've won three gold medals, 60, 80, 20, 26, right?
- 3:19[SPEAKER_00]: No U.S.man's hockey team has won gold without a player from the small town of War Road, Minnesota, a population of around 2,000 people, okay?
- 3:30[SPEAKER_00]: That's incredible, okay?
- 3:32[SPEAKER_00]: So there's this town in Minnesota, great name by the way, uh, by the way, a little tip Merrick, if you have somebody from Minnesota on your wrestling roster, and he wants to, you know, be from somewhere.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_00]: This is a pretty good place to be from.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_00]: War road.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_01]: And they breed champions.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_00]: It's kind of like the story with Steve Austin when they asked, um, you know, Victoria Texas is going, no, it's because it sounds good.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because he was built once from Houston.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_00]: He was like, that doesn't work.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_00]: It just doesn't work.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_00]: And he's not from there.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_00]: I believe he's from Austin.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_00]: Is that correct?
- 4:12[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not 100% sure, but he knows what he's doing if he's telling you that.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_01]: But I don't know, that's completely bullshit.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I know it's completely bullshit.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_00]: He's not from Victoria Texas.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_00]: He just said it sounds good, you know what I mean?
- 4:25[SPEAKER_00]: You know, victory, Victoria.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, if you've got somebody in your roster that needs to be from somewhere in Minnesota, War Road, Minnesota is a great place.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_00]: to be from, right?
- 4:35[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to pitch it.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_01]: We do get a lot of kids from Minnesota.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_01]: We're just south of Minnesota here in Iowa.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_00]: So Brock Nelson is the third generation Olympian and a war road native.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_00]: So he is the third to win gold from 14 USA.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_00]: That was awesome.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, today.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_01]: It really was.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, really was.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_01]: It was so, it was so fun.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_01]: Now, just to just to watch them achieve what they achieved, right?
- 5:03[SPEAKER_01]: And talk about the symmetry between the men's team and the women's team, both beating Canada, both in overtime, both to the one.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_01]: Like, it was just a fantastic winter Olympics for Team USA, but this hockey team was something out of super special.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_01]: Jack Hughes getting the game winner after getting his teeth busted out mid-game.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_01]: You know, that's cinematic right there.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_01]: That makes you romantic about the game of hockey.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and by the way, it's it's you have no idea the pride that I have that, you know, Miami, Florida, or I just say South Florida has become hockey town USA because Team USA was supposed to head to New York last night for a party a victory party, but you know There's this thing called blizzards and it shut down the whole city of New York
- 5:55[SPEAKER_00]: So, Team USA headed to Miami and they're going to be at Club 11 tonight and who knows, maybe there'll be a elbow room tomorrow and I think they're going to go to the state of the union the following day.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_00]: But it's great that now Miami is essentially where all hockey champions come to celebrate, which is kind of cool.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_01]: You got to get out there, you got to go to Club 11 tonight.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, that place is extremely expensive.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_00]: Extremely expensive and somebody said it the best somebody said why don't these hockey players keep going to strip clubs And somebody says that is not a strip club that is just a club that happens to have strippers But yeah, so let's talk a little bit about that game nerve-racking, right and if you watch if If you've been on Twitter for the last two days Our Canadian brothers and sisters are not taking it well, okay?
- 6:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I've seen that they keep saying they were the better team.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_01]: They were the better team.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you don't have gold So history won't remember you that.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_00]: It's unfortunate to keep score, right like if we had figure skating judges at the end Exactly, at the end of regulation that would have just awarded the gold medal to Canada, right?
- 7:08[SPEAKER_00]: Right, you know if you had judges say, oh, you know what you guys played better, but in team sports we keep score
- 7:16[SPEAKER_00]: and usually we determine the winner by whoever has the most points at the end of a match game series whatever and that feels fair to me yeah so last I checked two is more than one
- 7:31[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yep, I love all of their complaints.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_00]: I hate three on three, by the way.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that it's real hockey because it essentially accentuates skill too much and some of the best players in hockey are impossible to defend if you're not using team tactics.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_00]: So it makes the game become too much one-on-one.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_00]: Who does that, who does that, you know, benefit?
- 8:01[SPEAKER_00]: McKinnan and Maccar, basically one, two, three, the, the three best players in all of hockey anywhere.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_00]: Like, you would think that that would help them.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_00]: But no, what happened?
- 8:16[SPEAKER_00]: Economic David skates to essentially nowhere, which is something that he tends to do a lot.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_00]: Okay?
- 8:22[SPEAKER_00]: Skates to puck basically onto the boards.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_00]: gives it up to Warrensky.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_00]: Warrensky gets it out to Jack Hughes.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_00]: McCar is late to the play and on the back check.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_00]: As Jack Hughes fills on the left wing, Warrensky holds the puck, feed some, and he has basically a wide open shot on Bittington and beat some to the far post.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_00]: So, what are you complaining about?
- 8:50[SPEAKER_00]: You had an advantage and you blew the advantage.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_00]: Simple as that, right?
- 8:56[SPEAKER_01]: And you know what, that's how it goes sometimes, right?
- 9:01[SPEAKER_01]: There's a little bit of luck involved in most champions in any sport.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_01]: You know, how often are you seeing one team just steam roll their competition from start to finish and then win a championship, right?
- 9:14[SPEAKER_01]: You know, last I checked 1972 Miami Dolphins, only teams ever do that in NFL history, but you know, so team USA,
- 9:22[SPEAKER_01]: the puck bounces their way a couple times you know what I mean at the end of the day in the record books a one-to-gold candidate one this over game over
- 9:32[SPEAKER_00]: And it also helps that this is now really a rivalry, because you're not a rivalry until you beat somebody, okay?
- 9:39[SPEAKER_00]: And there were O and 3 against Canada in major competitions, meaning, you know, medals on the line, O and 2 in the Olympics, okay?
- 9:48[SPEAKER_00]: They got two silver's to Canada's two golds.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_00]: The last two times that they played, last time being in 2010.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_00]: Twenty, uh, 2002, they lost with Matico Chuck's father on that team, uh, but that was much more, that was different.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_00]: Canada had the much better team beat them five to in the final, but uh, in 2010, it was City Crossbees Golden Gold that beat some, so it's really not a rivalry until you draw blood, while the US has drawn blood.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that what, what, and by the way, the numbers are coming out, it's going to be a big number of merit, as far as ratings.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_00]: think it's thanks somewhere upwards of 30 million people watched that.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_00]: So, so yeah, it's going to be.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_01]: And for how early the puck dropped to, those are good numbers.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_01]: Great numbers.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it helps that, you know, Canada, the entire nation of Canada was on there, you know?
- 10:42[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_00]: But I think what, what, get people jazzed about this is that this is kind of a throwback to sports in the 90s.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I remember Nick's heat, those guys used to have fist fights on the court.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_00]: There were teams, there were such things as teams that just did not like each other.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_00]: Well guess what?
- 11:05[SPEAKER_00]: Team Canada, Team USA.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_00]: These guys don't like each other.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_00]: All right, Jack Hughes scores the winning goal.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_00]: There's a reason why he's bleeding through his mouth and he's missing two teeth.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_00]: That's because Sam Bennett knocked him out of his mouth.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, in the third period and through that penalty.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_00]: I will say this.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_00]: I'm a Panthers fan with Sam Bennett drew that double minor four minute penalty and the and the US got a four minute Powerplay I did feel bad for Sam Bennett because I was like, you know what?
- 11:35[SPEAKER_00]: This is where the US wins it on a powerplay.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_00]: It's a four minute powerplay by the way
- 11:40[SPEAKER_00]: How good was this game that both teams were able to kill not only a double minor by Sam Bennett, but five on three the US killed a five on three against that team of all teams.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, I did feel bad.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_00]: I was like, my god, Sampin is going to be blamed for this for this loss.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_00]: Because I was really thinking I was like, this is where they went.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_00]: This is where the US wins this game.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_00]: And no, they didn't get that call.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, I think it's a throwback.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_00]: I think people like this because the two teams actually do despise each other.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_00]: Like it's a real thing.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_00]: You agree?
- 12:14[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and it's really cool, right?
- 12:15[SPEAKER_01]: It's really cool that you get something that feels like that, you know, it almost makes you wish the Olympics came around a little, a little more often, but you know, that's what the other tournaments are for.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_01]: And I think it makes it special when you only get to watch it every four years.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_01]: Keeps it fresh, keeps you want more.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_01]: And I think the real winners, you know, obviously,
- 12:35[SPEAKER_01]: Great to the Olympians win in the gold, but the real winner is is the fortahaki and hockey fans and and I think it's going to grow In fandom.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you know, if I'm I'm recent hockey convert myself over the last couple seasons and Now I'm telling my friends about it, right?
- 12:52[SPEAKER_01]: It's been super early in the morning saying hey turn on NBC turn on peacock You gotta be watching this gold medal game.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_01]: This is important, you know, so
- 13:00[SPEAKER_00]: it's spreading the love for hockey is spreading here in America and it's a beautiful thing yeah and Bill Zito by the way gets another gold medal although they don't give uh I always thought that was weird that the coaches don't get gold medals wow you know but Bill Zito was the assistant general manager Billy Garron was the general manager but the assistant general manager of Team USA so they did a fabulous job in putting this roster together
- 13:23[SPEAKER_00]: uh... but people don't understand like this is not just building an all-starting from from the NHL you know you just you just not finding a bunch of americans you know american board players and they're just putting them together all these guys came up through the juniors and they were developed as american hockey players to eventually play for the national team and that's why they're here and they won't
- 13:50[SPEAKER_00]: lot of fun.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_01]: I showed my kids Miracle last night, you know, just had to educate them a little bit on the history of Team USA gold after what happened yesterday.
- 14:00[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, there's a documentary on Netflix.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_00]: It's about the boys, the boys from the Miracle from 1980.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_00]: And it's really really good.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_00]: Like the movie Miracle has that great herb, her Brooks speech.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_00]: Supposedly the real speech was only
- 14:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the real speech was just like he I think he walked into the dressing room.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_00]: He says All right, let's just get it done and that's it and he walked out.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_00]: Which is all the speech.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you know All right, we're gonna go to break and we come back.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_00]: We will take your questions Although I don't think that there's that many but there's a couple we'll get to them But if now there's a couple of things I want to talk about which I find very very interesting But first these words All right, and we're back
- 14:47[SPEAKER_00]: Did you see that they're making Ronda Rousey versus Gina Corrano?
- 14:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_00]: What do you think of that?
- 14:59[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know how to feel about it.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_00]: By the way, did you see the promotion?
- 15:03[SPEAKER_00]: Like they did a face-off?
- 15:07[SPEAKER_01]: They look like a million, but I don't think I saw that yet.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_00]: They look like a million bucks, okay?
- 15:11[SPEAKER_00]: Do you know Corrano?
- 15:12[SPEAKER_00]: Jesus Christ, is she hot?
- 15:15[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, she is.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm a fight fan, like I know a lot about fighting.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_00]: I don't see how Gina Corrano stands a chance here.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_00]: She's 10 years older than Ronda.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_00]: 10 years past the game on Rhonda.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_00]: So Rhonda has like basically 10 years more recent experience.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_00]: Gina Carano is not good on the ground.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_00]: She's a good fighter.
- 15:38[SPEAKER_00]: She's a good boxer.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_00]: You know, she's a good stand-up fighter.
- 15:43[SPEAKER_00]: Rhonda Rossi is great in judo.
- 15:45[SPEAKER_00]: Great to jutsu skills.
- 15:47[SPEAKER_00]: Rhonda is just going to take it to the ground and finish her.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_00]: That's pretty much it, right?
- 15:51[SPEAKER_00]: I think the only thing that helps Gina Carano is that, I guess she's taller and stronger.
- 15:57[SPEAKER_00]: She's basically going to have to just try to punch Rhonda in the face, she's going to have to get lucky and land a combination to win this fight because otherwise, I don't think she has a chance at beating Rhonda.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_00]: You agree?
- 16:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, I completely agree with you there.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_01]: I just, do you think?
- 16:14[SPEAKER_01]: They got it.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_01]: They got it.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_01]: It's not rigged per se, but do you think they tell them hey, you know, we're trying to get our monies worth that of this.
- 16:21[SPEAKER_01]: Let's let's extend it a little bit.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_01]: You know, don't take her out early, Rhonda, you know, stand up with her for a little bit, trade a couple shots here and there.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe we can get this into the second or third round, just so it's not over like a like a Mike Tyson fight in in the first five seconds.
- 16:36[SPEAKER_01]: Like do you think Netflix is is is goose in it a little bit?
- 16:40[SPEAKER_00]: There might be some agreed upon rules like, hey, you know, box for at least around, you know, and then Rhonda, you're free to do whatever you want in the second half of the second round.
- 16:51[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe something like that, you know, but I'm surprised that this never became a WWE thing.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_00]: Why the hell did Gina Corona never do WWE?
- 17:01[SPEAKER_00]: Or maybe her skills just don't translate because look, Rhonda's, Rhonda's skills do translate.
- 17:05[SPEAKER_00]: She's a tutor practitioner, so, you know, she's essentially a grappler.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_00]: So she would take to all of this stuff really, really easy.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know, she shouldn't have any trouble in one of your classes, you know.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_00]: But Gina, I don't think takes many flat, you know, she doesn't go to the ground much.
- 17:21[SPEAKER_00]: She's a boxer, she stands up once she fights.
- 17:25[SPEAKER_00]: So I think Gina probably would have been
- 17:28[SPEAKER_00]: you know, clay to mold more than the ronda would have been, but right that life is just never had an interest.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_00]: Well, she's trying to become a movie star.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, Gina Cronnell looks fabulous.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_00]: And, yeah, she would have been awesome.
- 17:43[SPEAKER_00]: She had, like as far as like her look because she's big, she's about five eight, you know what I mean?
- 17:48[SPEAKER_00]: Which means that she's taller than real Ripley.
- 17:51[SPEAKER_00]: Believe it or not, real Ripley looks like she's six week tall.
- 17:53[SPEAKER_00]: She's not, she's like five seven.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_01]: So, she would have been a little attitude on her, right?
- 17:58[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, Gina Cronnell has an attitude.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_00]: She's kind of chesty.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_00]: She's how his fuck.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_00]: This is so, this is, you know.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_00]: I agree completely, okay.
- 18:06[SPEAKER_00]: She's how does fuck and you know, and she's a legitimate badass like You know, she became famous because she used a punch other chicks in the face.
- 18:15[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, like that's her that's her gig Right, but yeah, I don't I don't see how in blue hell she's gonna be run arousy.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_00]: It's just, you know Like maybe in their primes both of them in their primes, you know, I believe what what are the ages?
- 18:30[SPEAKER_00]: Gina's 44 and run us 34 something like that
- 18:34[SPEAKER_00]: Oh wow.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean it's 10 years.
- 18:37[SPEAKER_00]: Let's 10 years.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_00]: That's 10 years.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_01]: That's just, you know, and then the style 39 39 and genus and genus what and genus what 44 He is 43 but should be 44 in April.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, so it's five years.
- 18:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but it's also the styles.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_00]: It's the styles, you know.
- 18:59[SPEAKER_00]: Jitter Karan always had trouble with grapplers.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I don't think this is going to work for her, you know, I just don't think it's, I don't think it's going to be a good thing.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 19:11[SPEAKER_00]: Moving on to the, to the, the combine.
- 19:14[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, you know what, let's take a couple of questions here.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_00]: First, we have a couple here in the chat.
- 19:21[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, Malik Willis will his APY eventually convince Miami to turn elsewhere to find a QB or are some media members doing his agents publicity for him.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_00]: Look, uh, if you don't think that his agent is like scouring, well, maybe not his agent, but
- 19:34[SPEAKER_00]: like interns that work for his agent are not scouring YouTube, looking at whatever influential podcasters are saying or whatever every show everywhere is essentially saying about his client then you're crazy because they are and they know that his client is in great demand right now.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_00]: So the hat machine is working over time.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_00]: I just think that Miami has a a lot of leeway to spend a lot of money for the next two years As long as you're not making commitments into 2028 I don't see where you get hurt now.
- 20:08[SPEAKER_00]: You don't have to go credit.
- 20:08[SPEAKER_00]: You don't have to get more 50 million dollars a year But you could go pretty deep as long as you're not reaching the guarantees into 2028 I don't know what do you think?
- 20:19[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think it's I don't think there's much of a danger here
- 20:22[SPEAKER_01]: off if you is there a price point though where where you're like okay if you're my Emmy and it gets up to you know we we had talked about this prior one needed 25 million APY we're we're pretty good with that we feel good about that 30 million you're stretching a little bit now there's some reports coming out over the last 24 hours that Willis might land in excess of 40 million dollars per year
- 20:45[SPEAKER_01]: in free agency.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_01]: Let's say the Arizona Cardinals are the one bidding for his services and they offer him 40 million a year and and you're the GM for Miami Alph are you trying to find a way to match that or are you just saying that's too rich for my blood and moving on to a backup option.
- 21:02[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I'd hate to walk away, but there is a point where if you're paying him in the top half of salaries for quarterbacks in the NFL, meaning top 15, you don't have to play the sucker, you know what I mean?
- 21:18[SPEAKER_00]: Find other things to spend money on is what I would say at that point.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_00]: But I am prepared to go deep.
- 21:24[SPEAKER_00]: Like, it's something that I would go deep on.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know, I'm prepared to move that guarantee.
- 21:30[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not willing to get into a bidding war over it.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm not necessarily walking away at the first sign of adversity in signing milk with us.
- 21:43[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 21:44[SPEAKER_01]: I think part of the attractiveness of Willis is the fact that you feel like you can get kind of a steal, right?
- 21:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you feel like you can get a top half order back in the league for bottom half money and once you're paying appropriate value Then you're like, ah, do I like him as much as I thought I liked him?
- 22:03[SPEAKER_01]: you know because he he looks like a hell of a player but it's a very small sample size so at at some point like you said alpha at some point you got to go all right i'm gonna let somebody else take that gamble because the dolphins are in a position to see what they have in twin ures
- 22:19[SPEAKER_01]: Um, it doesn't sound like they're interested in keeping Tua if nobody else is willing to bite on a trade.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_01]: Um, but you know, they have them on the roster now, things could change in that regard.
- 22:29[SPEAKER_01]: And I think 2027 is the year you want to draft your quarterback anyway.
- 22:33[SPEAKER_01]: So,
- 22:35[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's, I could see things going either way, but I still think right now that the dolphins are going to be really heavy players for Malik Willis, you know, the reports, the same reports that are saying that, that they don't think, go to Miami are saying that Jeff Hathley, his preferred QB option for next year is Malik Willis.
- 22:56[SPEAKER_01]: So, I mean, clearly he has some very strong support in the building and there's going to be the motivation to get that deal done.
- 23:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I tend to agree like I think that they're I wouldn't say that they're all in but I think that they have an idea of what they want to do with the quarterback position and I think it's going to start with mulliquolis I like many many bites at the apple and I think that that's what this is, you know You want to take a lot of swings Well, this is one of them you could take your first swing right here with mulliquolis
- 23:28[SPEAKER_00]: And if it doesn't work out, this does not stop you from joining the quarterback pool in 2027.
- 23:34[SPEAKER_00]: And in fact, I would do both.
- 23:37[SPEAKER_00]: Even in Malik Wallace, after 2026, you're like, you know what, I think we have something here.
- 23:42[SPEAKER_00]: Like this guy's good, guess what, I'm probably still taking a quarterback in 2027.
- 23:47[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't see the downside, I really, really don't see the downside.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_00]: Alright, uh, next question.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_00]: So what do you think the team ends up doing?
- 23:56[SPEAKER_00]: Guessing obviously, a Chan, Water, Brooks, AJ, Tua, and Willis.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_00]: Well, Tua, I think will be traded.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_00]: Willis, I think that they're targeting.
- 24:04[SPEAKER_00]: Austin Jackson, I thought that they would trade him until I, I gave it some thought and I was like, you know what?
- 24:12[SPEAKER_00]: there's just not that much out there at offensive tackle.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_00]: I guess we'll find out early on in frequency if they actually spend a little bit of money on some of the available offensive tackles.
- 24:24[SPEAKER_00]: One from Green Bay by the way, but I think he's going to be extremely expensive.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_00]: That's for she's Walker.
- 24:30[SPEAKER_00]: HM Waterland Brooks, I think HM is getting extended and I think Brooks is getting extended.
- 24:34[SPEAKER_00]: So another water will be here.
- 24:36[SPEAKER_00]: But AJ, I don't know, I'm not so sure.
- 24:40[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't know.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_00]: What do
- 24:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think I'm on the same wavelength when it comes to Austin Jackson there's not a lot of talent in the NFL for offensive linemen right now every team is looking for offensive linemen so I know Austin Jackson has been injured quite a lot and that's probably a bit of an understatement there
- 24:59[SPEAKER_01]: But he's still young.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_01]: He's 26 years old.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_01]: He's 26 years old.
- 25:05[SPEAKER_01]: And I think in a new system, in a new regime, you kind of want to see what you have in a guy like that.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_01]: So I think I think he's here.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_01]: I think to as gone, whether that's a trader or cut, I'm not really convinced either way at this point.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_01]: Um, I hope they're able to do a trade, you know, even if they're only clearing 10 million in cap space, that's enough to sign milk willus, you know, and I mean with the way that you would structure his contract, um, so that it's his cap hit would be low in year one.
- 25:33[SPEAKER_01]: So if they can do something with two of them all for a channel, absolutely extending, um, and water, I think I'm willing to listen to offers on water and not really motivated to get
- 25:47[SPEAKER_01]: of you blowing me away with a significant offer.
- 25:51[SPEAKER_01]: You know, a first plus something else.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_01]: Then I'm listening.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_01]: If you're getting into the second round pick range, I'm out on that.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to keep water in that scenario.
- 26:01[SPEAKER_01]: But if you're offering a first and more, we can have that conversation.
- 26:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and he writes, I do not think this team is on 2019 bad level.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_00]: I completely agree.
- 26:12[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like this has a chance to be decent if Willis is if they get Willis and he doesn't suck.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I completely agree.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_00]: I think they, you know, now it doesn't mean that they're making a run at what in the division, but can they make a run at being 500?
- 26:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you know, which is kind of like where they've been the last two years anyway.
- 26:30[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't think they're going to be that bad.
- 26:40[SPEAKER_00]: that is almost precisely the number I would think, although I think you could up it to maybe 30 million guaranteed, that's the deal.
- 26:49[SPEAKER_00]: I'm pretty much, I'm pretty certain that would be the deal that they could get HN4, and I think that's a team friendly deal, because if you're Devon HN, that lets you take another bite at the apple when he's what at that time he'll be, you'll be in his
- 27:08[SPEAKER_01]: so he'll get to take one more swing at a big contract so I don't know what you think about about that but I think that's that's pretty fair in my estimation yeah I don't think the dolphins have a ton of elite pillars right I think AJ and his one of those and so I think whatever you need to do to lock him in keep him in South Florida playing for the Miami Dolphins you know that that looks like a good contract to me sign me up
- 27:37[SPEAKER_00]: Alright, and then yeah, so what will you do for Brooks and Aeron extend both?
- 27:42[SPEAKER_00]: Like look, I keep explaining this to people.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_00]: They're gonna have so much cap space in 2027.
- 27:47[SPEAKER_00]: Do you guys spend some of it, okay?
- 27:51[SPEAKER_00]: Why don't spend it on good players?
- 27:52[SPEAKER_00]: Like that's the whole point of this thing.
- 27:54[SPEAKER_00]: Is that when you identify good players, you keep them.
- 27:58[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I would extend both of those players.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_00]: All right, and this is gonna be the last question I believe is Jonah done in your mind.
- 28:06[SPEAKER_00]: Whoa, getting close.
- 28:08[SPEAKER_00]: Or can he be fixed?
- 28:09[SPEAKER_00]: He just didn't look that bad in college.
- 28:10[SPEAKER_00]: You know, he did not.
- 28:12[SPEAKER_00]: And then he writes, I think the office line for Miami was Austin, other than Maui Noah.
- 28:18[SPEAKER_00]: I see in a lot of mocks you'd like him.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_00]: Is he talking about a Ness Cooper, you mean?
- 28:24[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, what you see as Brooks and Aaron Valley wise, I'll get to that, is he talking about an Eskuper Mark Hill bow?
- 28:33[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's not about an Eskuper.
- 28:34[SPEAKER_00]: Eskuper is basically a day three guy, Rogue Grater type, is not a top prospect, do I think he's an NFL player probably, but it's nothing to get too excited about, he's a masher.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think he fits the scheme necessarily.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, Jonah, I think the clock's taking, that I think that first year was pretty pretty bad.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's first stumble as a starter might be his last here.
- 29:04[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if you hold that any hope on Jonah before we tackle these, the question on Brooks.
- 29:11[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not giving up yet, I'm not giving up yet, you know, Austin Jackson was an adject his asterious rookie season and, you know, despite the fact that he's been injured half of the time since, he's turned into a fine player, right?
- 29:25[SPEAKER_01]: You know, he's not a world leader, but he's fine.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_01]: I'm holding out hope that Jonah Svaynaya can turn it around here because, uh,
- 29:32[SPEAKER_01]: That'd be really good for Miami on that topic though.
- 29:36[SPEAKER_01]: What do you think of the kid from from Penn State and I'm Vega?
- 29:39[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not even gonna try and pronounce his last name.
- 29:42[SPEAKER_01]: You think he'd be a worthy selection for Miami at Pickle Lemon if they were to miss out on the hurricane kid?
- 29:50[SPEAKER_00]: Well, uh, here's the thing, Mo Noah is the type where you think he can play right tackle eventually, but you know he can play guard right now and play out at a high level.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_00]: Penn State kid is pretty much the same thing, although he's more confirmed as a guard.
- 30:05[SPEAKER_00]: So it depends on what you think about taking a guard that high up.
- 30:09[SPEAKER_00]: Would he start for us?
- 30:10[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I think he's a plant, join us a via an air, but I got my eyes elsewhere.
- 30:16[SPEAKER_00]: I like the Ohio State kids, I like sunny styles and I like killer downs.
- 30:19[SPEAKER_00]: I think that they're transformational players.
- 30:22[SPEAKER_00]: I think both, both of the type of players that can make a mediocre to average defense and help it become consistently a top 10 defense.
- 30:34[SPEAKER_00]: And if you do that, that's one of those shortcuts that we talked about all the time about, you know, you try and find a shortcut to winning.
- 30:41[SPEAKER_00]: One of those shortcuts is having a great quarterback.
- 30:43[SPEAKER_00]: All right, if you can't do that, how about having a great defense?
- 30:47[SPEAKER_00]: If you have a top 10 defense man, you play the right schedule, you can have a top 3 defense, top 5 defense.
- 30:54[SPEAKER_00]: So, yeah, I like I would like that.
- 30:59[SPEAKER_00]: Alright, yeah, he writes Austin Barber from Florida, not Miami.
- 31:04[SPEAKER_00]: No, I'm not a fan.
- 31:07[SPEAKER_00]: Not a fan.
- 31:08[SPEAKER_00]: Kid, I like from Florida.
- 31:09[SPEAKER_00]: I keep forgetting his name.
- 31:11[SPEAKER_00]: Jix Later, that's what I like from Florida, and he is a skiing fit, and he's a guard, and can't play center.
- 31:18[SPEAKER_00]: I like him a lot.
- 31:20[SPEAKER_00]: Alright, and then the last thing he writes is Brooks and Iron Brewer, Valley Wise, Iron Brewer
- 31:26[SPEAKER_00]: near top of the market, think of somewhere on 16, 17 million dollars a year.
- 31:30[SPEAKER_00]: I do it.
- 31:32[SPEAKER_00]: And Brooks, pretty much the same near top of the market as well, 15 to 16 million dollars.
- 31:39[SPEAKER_00]: You're going to have the cash space, start spending it.
- 31:41[SPEAKER_00]: And it's not like you're capping yourself up by sending these deals.
- 31:43[SPEAKER_00]: It's just their modest bumps, really.
- 31:46[SPEAKER_00]: If you look at what you're a lotting right now to each of those units, as far as capped dollars for
- 31:55[SPEAKER_00]: Factoring in these races really just bumps it up by by a pit and it's really you're talking about Increasing unit expenditure by 15% if that while the cap is going up considerably more and you're lowering Your expenses at other positions most notably quarterback So yeah, I do both.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that that's that's much to worry about your thoughts on that as we get out of here
- 32:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think, uh, bro, you might get away with not making him, you know, one of the highest paid centers.
- 32:32[SPEAKER_01]: He's making seven million a year right now, Creed Humphrey's up there at 18 million per year.
- 32:36[SPEAKER_01]: So you got a little wiggle room in there, uh, considering his pedigree wasn't very high coming out of college.
- 32:41[SPEAKER_01]: Brooks, first round pick, you're not going to really be able to mess around there.
- 32:45[SPEAKER_01]: You might as well just open up the, uh, the person and get that man paid.
- 32:50[SPEAKER_00]: All right, I'm going to leave it right there.
- 32:53[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to be back a little bit later on on this week, spoiler alert.
- 32:57[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to be in Port St. Lucy following the Metz around for spring training, so I will not be here come Friday, but I will be here the rest of this week until Thursday.
- 33:07[SPEAKER_00]: So I'll be planning of content on our feed, and I will do this show a couple more times during this week.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_00]: All right, that's it.
- 33:15[SPEAKER_00]: There is no more.
- 33:16[SPEAKER_00]: We will talk to you again when we talk to you, which probably could be even tomorrow.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks for listening to OnlyFans here in A&A Live.
