- 0:27the Mouth. I like this.

- 0:33Come on. You know this track.
- 0:34I do. Yeah, you do.
- 0:35I wasn't alive, but I could you. Could you sing this?
- 0:37Could you not? Could you give us?
- 0:38No, I don't know the lyrics that well.
- 0:40I think you do. I mean I.
- 0:42Don't do. I don't believe I do.
- 0:43All right, I'm just, I'm just helping you.
- 0:45You're listening to the one, the only Jabba and the mouth.
- 0:49My name is Arrow Marks. They call me the mouth.
- 0:51My Co host Mr. Speedy PD, executive producer Mr. Aaron
- 0:56fish, fisherman on the board, Tommy pumps and Mr. NR himself.
- 0:59He's hiding in that Gray circle jerk room himself as we make her
- 1:06squirt, make me jerk. Mr. Nathan, AKA the PR manager
- 1:11and our our great interns. We got Zach, we got Zoot, we got
- 1:14Dom. They're all back there tonight.

- 1:37No Chris Childs tonight. He's been dealing with a family,
- 1:41family issue. We'll have him on on Thursday.
- 1:43So we have somebody on Thursday. Nothing tonight, but we've got
- 1:46good content and you got me, which is probably scary.
- 1:50So and I, I feel like I'm low tonight.
- 1:52I, I got to figure out how to elevate myself Speedy.
- 1:55Maybe I should stand on the show.
- 1:57Maybe I should set up my camera and just stand up the whole
- 2:00show. What do, what do, what do people
- 2:01think about that? Maybe we should have a vote on
- 2:03that. Do you think I could stand for a
- 2:05whole shell? I think you could.
- 2:07I think I could too. I think it'd be pretty.
- 2:10I could do some push ups. I could stretch a little bit.
- 2:14I mean, that would be pretty cool.
- 2:16Yeah sorry your push up competition that Nathan claimed
- 2:19you. Nathan tried to challenge you
- 2:21during COVID. Bring that back, please.
- 2:24Nathan thinks he can out push up me.
- 2:27And in 2020, apparently, yeah. Well, he's out of his mind.
- 2:31He's lost his mind. But hey, you know everybody,
- 2:34everybody thinks they can do something.
- 2:36Yeah, it was. It was Nathan's second craziest
- 2:38moment of all time, besides the the illustrious first show in
- 2:422024 when he claimed he put women on leashes.
- 2:44That's true. My rear end is burning.
- 2:47Well, there's a lot of things burning when it comes to
- 2:49Nathan's takes. Ladies and gentlemen, I want to
- 2:51get into the World Baseball Classic, the WBC, which starts
- 2:54on Wednesday. The World Baseball Classic
- 2:58begins this Wednesday, and the current betting lines have Team
- 3:03USA as betting favorites to win this year's event.
- 3:07The US is favored at a minus yes a -, 110, with Japan second at a
- 3:14+ 350 and the Dominican Republic at a + 425 and Valenzuela,
- 3:22Venezuela, I'm sorry, at +900. Puerto Rico will still
- 3:26participate, but some of their best players including Carlos
- 3:30Correa, Jose Barrios, and Francisco Lindor will not
- 3:35participate due to ongoing insurance issues with the MLB.
- 3:40The Dominican Republic had a few players with similar issues that
- 3:44won't participate but none of their star players so they are
- 3:50are still favored highly. All the Dodger Japanese stars
- 3:56along with Cubs outfielder say y'all right, Am I right Say
- 4:01y'all. Suzuki and recently signed Blue
- 4:04Jays infielder Akamoto will make up a stardom of Japanese roster,
- 4:11but reports say that the NLNVP Shay Otani will only hit, not
- 4:16pitch. The Dominican Republic has a lot
- 4:18of star power in their lineup with guys like Vladimir Guerrero
- 4:22Junior, Fernando Tatis Junior and Cattle Barte Manny Machado
- 4:29and who well wants. So I almost I almost went off
- 4:33time off target on that, but not as much not as much in their
- 4:38rotation after Phillies breakout pitcher last season Christopher
- 4:42for Sanchez. Team USA on the other hand, will
- 4:46have a ton of star power in their rotation led by saw young
- 4:50winner Tarek Skubal and Paul Skins to go with Joe Ryan, Logan
- 4:56Webb and Mets rising star Nolan McClain.
- 5:00Offensive Team USA lineup features American League
- 5:03champion and captain Aaron Judge and American League MVP runner
- 5:09up Cal Raleigh paired with other young stars like Bobby Witt,
- 5:13Junior Roman, Anthony, Gunner, Henderson with the Phillies
- 5:18vets, Bryce Harper, Kyle Schwarber bringing some presents
- 5:23and power for the red, white and blue.
- 5:25Team USA has just an unbelievable, unbelievable
- 5:29roster. This pitching staff is as good
- 5:31of a pitching staff is any pitching staff Team USA has had
- 5:35in the WBAC. But you know, what scares me
- 5:38about all these players is is you're putting your bodies on
- 5:41the line. You have a lot of money invested
- 5:43in these players. If I was running an
- 5:44organization, if I was the Yankees and I was the Mets or I
- 5:47was the Phillies or I, especially with the older
- 5:51players that they have on this team, Bryce Harper, Kyle
- 5:53Schwarber, you have a lot of a lot of money invested in these
- 5:56guys. And then Cal Riley, who's
- 5:58playing catching position, you're, you play 162 games
- 6:03practically all season. Last year you were the runner up
- 6:05in MVP and you're going to be a starting catcher for Team USA.
- 6:08And there's a lot of pressure on your knees when you have an MLB
- 6:11season right around the corner. That would worry me if I was the
- 6:15Seattle, Seattle Mariners. But you want to play for the I
- 6:21guess your red, white and blue take on that one.
- 6:24Thank you fish the USA and and again, this is not the Olympics.
- 6:31This is not now people are going to take this and maybe be hurt
- 6:36by what I'm going to say about this.
- 6:39I think this competition is great.
- 6:42I do. I think I think this competition
- 6:44is great. I love seeing the best players
- 6:46play for their their teams, their their countries, their
- 6:49flags. It it's great.
- 6:53But this, this tournament means nothing.
- 6:56It really means nothing if United States wins this
- 7:00tournament, Japan's won it for how many times?
- 7:03I mean, this has been going on for what, over 20 years?
- 7:05I. Was going to say I think Japan
- 7:07is the only multi time winner. I mean they've won it like 3
- 7:09times. I think Cuba won it once. the
- 7:12United States don't win these tournaments because nobody wants
- 7:15to play in it. Now finally we got Taric School
- 7:17and Paul Skins. They want to compete.
- 7:19Joe Ryan, Logan Webb and and obviously Nolan McLean.
- 7:23This is a great pitching staff, probably the best pitching
- 7:25staff. It would be the best pitching
- 7:26staff in baseball. I mean, it's a ridiculous
- 7:29pitching staff. And you got guys like Aaron
- 7:31George and Bobby Witt, who's one of the best defensive shortstops
- 7:35in all the baseball. And Cal Raleigh, who was just
- 7:38putting up the numbers that he had last year, switch hitting
- 7:40power hitter. It's great.
- 7:42It's great for Team USA baseball.
- 7:44You want to see the best players and you can't wait to see what
- 7:46this roster can bring to this tournament.
- 7:49I feel bad for these organizations, season teams.
- 7:52We saw what happened to Edwin Diaz.
- 7:55Does anybody remember what happened to Edwin Diaz?
- 7:57Right after he got a big contract.
- 7:59He plays for team Puerto Rico, they win a game, he jumps up in
- 8:03the air and he lands on his knee and tears his ACL Season ending
- 8:08injury that quick. All it takes is 1 bad move, one
- 8:14bad jerk. I don't know.
- 8:16You can have a hurt flasik or whatever the hell it is when it
- 8:19comes to your finger. I mean, I mean, you can break
- 8:21your thumb in baseball. You break your thumb.
- 8:23Good luck. You're probably going to be out
- 8:25three months. This isn't basketball.
- 8:28Baseball, you put a lot of talk on your fingers, you know,
- 8:31you're swinging at a ball that's going 100 mph.
- 8:34You're not going to be able to play with a broken finger.
- 8:36You're not going to be be able to do anything with a fractured
- 8:39finger. So, and, and The thing is, is
- 8:43with Japan, Japan's going to play the best place because
- 8:45Japan loves these tournaments. They love whipping the hell out
- 8:48of the Dominican Republic and Team USA because they want to
- 8:51stand as the world power. They want to stand as we are the
- 8:55best in the world when it comes to baseball.
- 8:57We have dominated. Look at all our great players.
- 8:59Look at Okamoto and look, look at the Suzuki's of the world.
- 9:04And, and obviously the pitching staff, yes, the pitching staff
- 9:07are the Dodgers. I, I just, to me, when you're
- 9:11looking at tournaments like this, you want to see them play
- 9:14for something like a gold medal, like something that stands for
- 9:18something. And, and being that the
- 9:20Olympics, the Summer Olympics go on during the summer when
- 9:23baseball's going on, we're never going to see these players.
- 9:25They play amateurs. So it doesn't really matter.
- 9:28It has no really, it doesn't really matter to anybody now.
- 9:32It's right now basketball is the only thing going on with
- 9:36obviously hockey. I mean, I can't say that
- 9:38hockey's not back. But, and if you're an Islander,
- 9:40well, I hope not. You're not a Ranger fan right
- 9:43now. There's really that bad and the
- 9:45Devil's are up and down. I mean, I love that Jack Hughes
- 9:47is back. So I think you have something to
- 9:49watch with the Devil's. But when you watch baseball and
- 9:54you're getting ready for this tournament, I mean, you're
- 9:56looking at Team USA and, and, and the opportunity they have to
- 10:00win this tournament for the first time in over 20 years.
- 10:04And you have Aaron Judge, who's 34 years old.
- 10:07As a Yankee fan, I'm worried. I'm worried because this guy's
- 10:13had a toll problem over the last three years.
- 10:16He already said he came out, he had toe surgery after he ran
- 10:20into the wall in Dodger Stadium. He grew up, I don't know if
- 10:24anybody knows this, he grew up a San Francisco Giants fan.
- 10:28He's from San Francisco area, but he also rooted for the
- 10:32Dodgers. So his family was at, his whole
- 10:34family was at that Dodger game. So he wanted show off and he ran
- 10:37into the wall and he hurt his talk.
- 10:41All it takes for a guy that 6 foot eight 280 lbs of muscle is
- 10:47torque his knee and he could be out a significant amount of
- 10:51time. Could you imagine season ending
- 10:53injury for Aaron Judge for this WBC tournament and he's out for
- 10:58the rest of the baseball season. The Yankees have nothing to look
- 11:00forward to. I don't care if Garricko comes
- 11:02back. I don't care if this pitching
- 11:04staff is elite without Aaron Judge.
- 11:06They don't stay at a chance in the in the American League.
- 11:11The Red Sox are better, the Blue Jays are better, even the
- 11:14Orioles are a better because they had a Pete Alonso.
- 11:19It worries me. I don't know what I I don't know
- 11:20what you Yankee fans are looking forward to.
- 11:23You get to see Aaron Judge wear the USA, you know, logo on his
- 11:26chest. Maybe you should go on fanatic
- 11:28and buy the jersey right now it's $400.00.
- 11:30Go waste your money on that. It's just it, it, it worries me.
- 11:35It should worry all of you guys and who cares what Vegas is
- 11:40giving you the betting odds that don't mean crap.
- 11:44The Dominican Republic, they got a a great, great, great line up.
- 11:49Look at the names. Guerrero junior Tatis junior.
- 11:53Marte Machado, Soto, Who cares? Who cares?
- 11:59Fernando Tatis is an injury prone player.
- 12:02Machado is an injury prone player.
- 12:05Guerrero has been up and down with injury over the years.
- 12:08Juan Soto, I mean, he stayed healthy for most of his career,
- 12:12but you worry about him. Soto came out and came and he
- 12:16pretty much challenged the league, the National League,
- 12:19that he's going to win the MVP, the National League MVP over
- 12:22Atani going into this season. Could you imagine if he goes
- 12:25down for the New York Mets? That's what I'm worried about
- 12:30here. And when you have Cody Bellinger
- 12:33coming out, because I don't know if anybody knows, the United
- 12:36States asked Cody Bellinger to play for this team.
- 12:39And Cody said after he signed his big contract with the
- 12:42Yankees, he says my allegiance is to the New York Yankees and
- 12:48winning a World Series. I am not playing in the World
- 12:52Baseball Classic. I'm not doing it.
- 12:55I'm getting ready for the end of the MLB season and I'm going to
- 12:58be ready to go for 162 games. And when you hear your own
- 13:04teammate and Aaron Judge, I'm sure heard that take, you kind
- 13:09of wonder now if you're a baseball fan, if you're a Yankee
- 13:12fan or even a Mets fan here in New York, could you, would you
- 13:16be scared if Nolan McLean throws his shoulder out in a in a WBC
- 13:22game and he's out for the rest of the season, out for next year
- 13:25too because he needs shoulder surgery or elbow surgery?
- 13:29Your young rookie, well, as she was a rookie second year player
- 13:32who looked like a phenom and you're going into the year with
- 13:36Peralta and him and you're going into a strike year next year.
- 13:39And that would probably matter if he's out for the season next
- 13:42year. If there's not going to be a
- 13:43season, maybe that's why these players are playing in the WBC
- 13:46because there might not be a baseball season the next year.
- 13:50So they might as well use their body and and use their season to
- 13:54their advantage. But to me, what are they winning
- 13:58here? They're paying for their own
- 14:00insurances and the MLB is not paying.
- 14:03Teams are not paying for this. Aaron Judge is paying out of
- 14:06pocket. Bryce Harper, Kyle Schwarber,
- 14:11every one of these players. Tarek Scuba, who's expecting a
- 14:15$500 million contract next year. Paul Schemes, who wants to be
- 14:20traded to the Yankees. These are all things that you
- 14:26have to worry about if you're a baseball fan, and I'm sorry, I'm
- 14:33looking forward to the baseball season.
- 14:34I'm not looking forward to this. I'm really not.
- 14:37I'm going to tell you this right now.
- 14:38If Team USA wins the gold or wins the WBC, am I going to be
- 14:43proud of the red, white and blue?
- 14:45Yes, of course. I'm going to be more worried
- 14:49about who's going to go down, who's going to get hurt and if
- 14:52one of these players that are so important to their organizations
- 14:55and their teams don't get the contracts they want the next
- 14:58year when they become free agents.
- 15:02So get ready guys, cuz I'm going to bet you they're just going to
- 15:07be a major injury in this tournament.
- 15:10And I don't know who it's going to be.
- 15:12But don't be surprised if one of your superstars on your team and
- 15:17your roster is going to go down on a terrible injury, a weird
- 15:20injury, and could be at a significant amount of time or
- 15:23maybe the whole baseball season. And that's why you see Japan
- 15:26generally have a lot of these advantages in this types of
- 15:28tournament because a lot of their guys we talk about with
- 15:31some of our guests all the time too, that we're saying that they
- 15:33don't pitch as often. Their pitchers go longer in
- 15:36between starts. And obviously they, some of
- 15:38them, I mean, some of them throw hard, but a lot of them don't
- 15:40throw as hard in general. And a lot of their pro seasons,
- 15:42the way it's stretched out, I know obviously Yamamoto and
- 15:45Sasaki and guys like that are MLB players, but they're not all
- 15:48MLB players. So they're playing in that
- 15:49Japanese league that is stretched out a lot more where
- 15:52you can actually, you could actually stretch your pitchers
- 15:55out more. And I think they're more used to
- 15:57it where a lot of these pitchers are going to be pitching hard
- 16:00right away. School said he probably only old
- 16:01pitch one start and how hard is he going to go in that star?
- 16:04You wonder if you showed the highlight before he's throwing
- 16:06103 towards the end of the game. We always capable of it, but
- 16:08that doesn't mean that it's going to work all the time.
- 16:10And it's not going to keep him healthy either.
- 16:12Remember School, he's been healthier now, but he had a lot
- 16:14of injury problems at the beginning of his career.
- 16:16That's why he didn't develop as quickly when he was a draft pick
- 16:19in 2020 and now he's obviously turning the best picture in
- 16:22baseball. But you worry about that kind of
- 16:23thing. I'm definitely worried about
- 16:24with McLean. You got to be and schemes.
- 16:27The Pirates are probably not going to keep him anyway, but
- 16:29anyone would be worried about training for that if he has any.
- 16:32You're going to trade away your whole practically your whole
- 16:34future for Paul schemes. And this guy is, is, is a
- 16:38phenom. I mean, this guy is the best
- 16:40young pitcher in baseball. He's 2223 years old.
- 16:43He's dating one of the, the gymnasts of, of the year.
- 16:48She's all over the place. She's social media queen and,
- 16:52and she, he's all over the place because of her and, and, and
- 16:55you, you're going to see this guy go and pitch for Team USA
- 16:58and golf a bit. He throws out his shoulder,
- 17:00throws out his elbow, throws out his knee on the mound.
- 17:05Are the Yankees going to really throw away all their prospects
- 17:07or all their future to go after a pool of Skeens?
- 17:10I don't know. I, I mean, it worries me.
- 17:13This is a worrisome situation. Yeah, and it also worries some
- 17:16when you look at the way that they handle this insurance, too,
- 17:18because you're right, MLB, you would think, would do more.
- 17:20They're promoting it on their own website, MLB.com, but
- 17:23they're not promoting it. They're not helping these
- 17:25players out by giving. Those insurance.
- 17:27Yeah, and again, they're doing it for their own.
- 17:29Their the Yankee. They did it for Garrett Cole
- 17:31when he was hurt in the MLB season.
- 17:33No, he's not going to do it for the WBC.
- 17:35And again, it's going to make, it's going to water down the
- 17:37event because I'm not saying Puerto Rico.
- 17:39You're not You're not worried about Gunner Henderson, who
- 17:41can't stay healthy over there with the Orioles.
- 17:43Yeah, Yeah, we could go. You talk about the Phillies like
- 17:45we go on the laundry list of all these guys that have been injury
- 17:47prone, Tatis, etcetera and Kyle. Schwarber.
- 17:50Yeah, they're not. You're not dealing with, you're
- 17:52dealing with a lot of cases of. Yeah, maybe USA still is a
- 17:55strong team because because. Obviously they have the best
- 17:57roster. I know, I know.
- 17:59Talent wise they're able to accumulate a lot of it, which is
- 18:02which they should do because it's their sport.
- 18:04Clayton Kershaw. Playing on his team too, but
- 18:06he's retiring. That's why he's on this roster.
- 18:08He's probably going to be a bullpen pitcher.
- 18:11He he's a part of this roster just because he's the great
- 18:14Clayton Kershaw and he wants to play one more game and one more
- 18:17experience for Team USA baseball.
- 18:19But I mean, this is so worrisome.
- 18:23I, I don't know I anybody would think this is a great
- 18:26tournament. Yeah.
- 18:27Because you're going to get a chance to see some of the great
- 18:29players play for their colors. Yeah, I I'm worried.
- 18:31It's a very top heavy tournament also because of that too,
- 18:34because I think even like we were talking about the Dominican
- 18:36Republic, I think they even have like Wandy Peralta's like the
- 18:39third option who has a pitch. He pitched with the Yankees like
- 18:413 years ago. I think that was his last time
- 18:42in Major League Baseball. Like that's how desperate they
- 18:45are because of this insurance, this insurance issue.
- 18:47And that's why I get in Japan bringing their pro players
- 18:49essentially there seems like even though they may have US raw
- 18:53talent as the US, they still might be favored in the
- 18:55tournament just because of that. I also think that you look at
- 18:59the Dominican Republic and I think the Dominican Republic,
- 19:02but the roster they have is still capable of winning the
- 19:04whole thing. I mean, if two of these hitters
- 19:07go get hot, Vladimir Guerrero to tease, these are great here,
- 19:11Sodo, these guys are some of the best hitters in baseball.
- 19:14Now, they don't have their whole roster and they're not going to
- 19:16be able to match up against Japan or even Team USA, but
- 19:21they're still going to be up there.
- 19:22And all it takes is 2 guys to get hot in this tournament.
- 19:25What do they play? Each team is going to play
- 19:27about. Five games, they play four games
- 19:28in the group I believe, and then they'll play the knockout round.
- 19:30And if and if Dominic or Republic can get either like
- 19:33Luis Severino or Brian Bello like one of the other second
- 19:36tier pitchers to get hot, then yeah, they have definitely have
- 19:38a shot with that offense. Yeah, and, and again, I'm, I'm
- 19:41also worried about the fact that is, is this going to sell to the
- 19:45baseball fan? Sure.
- 19:47Is this really going to sell if you're a baseball fan?
- 19:49I know Zach's a baseball fan. I know Zoot's a baseball fan.
- 19:52Dom I'd like to hear it from the younger fans because these guys,
- 19:57the youth, they can't wait for this tournament.
- 19:59I've it's so funny because I was speaking to a kid off air.
- 20:03I'm not going to mention his name, but he he's a big baseball
- 20:06fan. He's in his 20s.
- 20:07And he was telling me how I can't wait until the WBC.
- 20:10This is going to be great for Team USA.
- 20:12They got a chance to win it. And I said, OK, they're going to
- 20:14win it. Maybe, maybe they do win it.
- 20:16What's it going to do? What's it going to do?
- 20:18Team USA won it one time. I think, if I'm not mistaken.
- 20:21Who is the pitcher? Who's the closing pitcher?
- 20:23I think it was. Yeah, Patrick Medford,
- 20:26representative. You know what I'm talking about.
- 20:27Stroman That's right. Yeah, Marcus Stroman, I remember
- 20:29he finished and he and he pitched the final game for Team
- 20:32USA and he won. They won the WBCI, remember.
- 20:35That was the only time they won. The Yankees and Mets legend
- 20:37Marcus Stroman. Yeah, a Long Island native.
- 20:40I know Patrick Medford. I went to school there, so I
- 20:42know Marcus Stroman, but I, I just, you know, I speak to these
- 20:48kids and they're, they're like excited about this.
- 20:51What's so exciting about this? I, I, I, I mean, I'm a Yankee
- 20:56fan and I'm worried. I'm definitely worry about Aaron
- 20:58Judge. He's 34 years old.
- 21:00I'm worried about McClain in the same way.
- 21:02Well, McClain is like in his early. 20s, I know that, but
- 21:05still, you don't want to. The Mets have had problems
- 21:06keeping their young pitchers healthy.
- 21:07Juan Soto is 27 years old. Aaron Judge is 34 years old.
- 21:13He's the best player in baseball and he's going in this
- 21:16tournament because he's never played for Team USA baseball.
- 21:19He's never experienced this opportunity to be the captain of
- 21:21this team. I mean, are you excited as a
- 21:24Yankee fan because Aaron Judge is the captain of Team USA
- 21:27Baseball? It's they're not winning
- 21:30anything. They're not getting anything out
- 21:32of this. Are they even making money on
- 21:33this? I think some, but not not enough
- 21:36where you would expect for like a global tournament.
- 21:39That's, that's problem with a lot of these global tournaments
- 21:41probably outside of the World Cup.
- 21:42Like you have a lot of these tournaments that don't make as
- 21:44much as they should and or international organizations we
- 21:48talked about with the Olympics a few weeks ago that have been
- 21:50corrupt in terms of like not paying their athletes enough as
- 21:52much as they should for amount of the amount of training, the
- 21:54amount of wear and tear that puts it, especially with
- 21:56baseball, that is a long season. I think when I look at the game
- 21:59of baseball and it's all about the youth, you want to bring in
- 22:02some new fans if they're all driving to pass basketball
- 22:05because of all the stars and football because it's the
- 22:08biggest sport here in America and they're making it world
- 22:11renown. I mean, think about it.
- 22:13You have them in Europe, you have it in Germany, you have it
- 22:16in Australia. They can have games in all
- 22:17different places for, for the next, you know, next 20 years.
- 22:21I I mean, the NFL just signed a big contract to have games all
- 22:26over the world. Baseball is world renowned,
- 22:31world renowned. As far as world sports,
- 22:34baseball's the biggest. Think about it, it's the biggest
- 22:38besides soccer, besides soccer, but that's not out of the the
- 22:43four major sports here. The four major sports is
- 22:45basketball, which is becoming world renowned, football that's
- 22:48getting there. Hockey that's, you know, it's
- 22:50world renowned, but not as big. Certain markets, yeah.
- 22:53And baseball, baseball's the biggest.
- 22:56It's the biggest in the whole world.
- 23:00If you go to country to country, every one of them are playing
- 23:02baseball. Every one of them soccer,
- 23:06baseball, hockey's too expensive.
- 23:08Basketball, if you you know they they do play basketball, but
- 23:12it's not it's getting up there. I mean it.
- 23:14There are basketball players all over the world now but and
- 23:18football is is starting to grow world but.
- 23:21It's in football is never going to catch.
- 23:23Up with the others No, this is this is a sport that is trying
- 23:28to to catch back up with basketball and football and I
- 23:32don't think this is the tournament that's going to do
- 23:34it. I I would worry fans, I would
- 23:38worry. I wrote a story on the on the
- 23:40worldwide sports radio network. Go check it out.
- 23:42I I I gave you my take into it. I know everybody's excited and
- 23:46I'm excited to see Aaron Judge, but USA colors.
- 23:50And then what happens when he fouls a ball off the back of his
- 23:53knee and creates A contusion that makes him sit out for five
- 23:57weeks of the MLB season? What are the Yankees going to
- 24:00do? What happens if he fouls a ball
- 24:04off his finger or his toe and he breaks his toe and he could be
- 24:08out two months? How does that help the Yankees?
- 24:14That's why Bellinger and I, I agree with Bellinger.
- 24:17I agree with some of these players that said, you know
- 24:19what? I don't want to play in this
- 24:20tournament. I don't want to put my body on
- 24:21the line. I'm I'm about, you know, the
- 24:23team. I'm about my, my, my family.
- 24:25I'm about my contract. So.
- 24:29Imagine imagine if they like had the insurance like you still
- 24:33have to worry about even with like somebody like Lindor
- 24:35dropped out. See, when Team USA Hockey, I
- 24:38understand. That's the Olympics.
- 24:40That's the Olympics, to win a gold medal, something that a
- 24:43team has not done in 46 years and Team Cantor's dominance.
- 24:47And that's why all the Canadian players want to play in that
- 24:49tournament. That's why everybody was looking
- 24:51forward to it, you know, because they're, they're playing for
- 24:55something, they're playing for a gold.
- 24:56Medal. That's the first time NHL
- 24:57players were back in the Olympics.
- 25:00They're playing for something. This is this is not good.
- 25:06So that's my take on the WBC preview.
- 25:09I, I, I know everybody was expecting me to be excited about
- 25:12this, but, and I know Fish put it together, but I think Fish
- 25:14know, knew where I was going with this.
- 25:17It doesn't make me happy as a, as a baseball fan.
- 25:20I'm a huge baseball fan and to me, if I'm a Yankee fan, a Mets
- 25:25fan or any fan, I would not want to see my favorite or my best
- 25:29player playing this tournament knowing that they can get hurt
- 25:32and could be out a significant amount of time.
- 25:34So that's my take on it. I hope everything is OK.
- 25:38I hope nobody gets hurt. Something tells me somebody
- 25:41major is going to get hurt in this tournament, could be out a
- 25:43significant amount of time. I'm not betting on it.
- 25:46I don't want to. I hope it doesn't happen.
- 25:48I just have a feeling it's going to happen.
- 25:50All right, ladies and gentlemen, our final segment of the night,
- 25:53as we call this Dial it up. We interrupt this regularly
- 25:56scheduled hot mix to bring you important news.
- 25:58We got a big broadcast to do here.
- 26:01We're about to dial it all it. Up.
- 26:05OK, everybody, welcome back. You made me The Ultimate
- 26:09Warrior. Now to dial it up.
- 26:14Everyone's favorite segment. You actually were always
- 26:17supposed to be The Ultimate Warrior.
- 26:18Now it looks better. We got a great Mets story.
- 26:22Again, if you don't know this segment, we have 5 different
- 26:25stories. Errol doesn't know what we're
- 26:27about to talk about. He's going to dial up a take.
- 26:30And here's the first one tonight.
- 26:32Brandon Nimmo is reportedly numb from the Mets trade way back a
- 26:39few months ago. Again, we have heard all sorts
- 26:42of reasons why Nimmo was traded, converging from political
- 26:47possible reasons to not getting along with Francisco Lindor,
- 26:52which Lindor has denied. Texas seems to be pretty happy
- 26:57they have a new leadoff hitter and probably left fielder slash
- 27:01center fielder. Errol, what do you make?
- 27:06Squeeze the tree. Stearns treated someone who felt
- 27:12a family relationship with Steve Cohen as well as the only
- 27:16franchise he ever knew. When you dial it.
- 27:20Off Well, we saw what Chris Drury did to Goudreau.
- 27:25We saw what he did. He told Goudreau at the trade
- 27:29deadline, before the trade deadline that he wasn't going to
- 27:31trade him, that he wanted to make sure.
- 27:33Goudreau wanted to make sure that him and his family were
- 27:35going to stay with in New York for at least the rest of the
- 27:37season and then in the offseason if he wanted to move him.
- 27:40And what did Chris Drury do? He screwed him and the same
- 27:43thing. David Stearns doesn't care about
- 27:45being faithful to players and players that were drafted from
- 27:48the organization. He don't care.
- 27:50All he cares about is building his team and his championship
- 27:53organization. It didn't work in Milwaukee.
- 27:56He's trying to do it in New York.
- 27:58I feel bad for Brennan IMO. I think Brandon IMO would have
- 28:00been their best outfielder on this roster no question.
- 28:03They traded him for honestly a bag of bones.
- 28:06I I'm sorry you're bringing a guy is a veteran.
- 28:09Simians is is an older guy. He's 3637 years and I say a bag
- 28:13of bones because all it takes is 1 broken bone and he's done and
- 28:17he could be out for the rest of his career and the rest of the
- 28:19season. I'm not trusting a 36 year old
- 28:21to a guy that's what 30 years old and still in the prime of
- 28:25his career. I, I understand the the back end
- 28:28of it. Maybe he didn't get along with
- 28:29Lindor or Soto or any of the Spanish players or politically
- 28:33behind maybe Donald Trump. I, I don't know it to me it
- 28:38shouldn't matter. It should matter about the
- 28:40talent of the player and this guy by would be the best
- 28:43outfield you have on this roster.
- 28:45It sickens me. If I'm a Mets fan, I shouldn't
- 28:47and I wouldn't be happy about. It no, you never want to
- 28:50mistreat your longest tenured player in Brandon Nemo, who
- 28:53debuted in 2016. And obviously we talk about like
- 28:55they don't have a lot of like home drafted players.
- 28:58Not a guy. Yeah and home drafted players in
- 29:00the lineup anymore. Now again, I like Semi and I
- 29:02like him as a player, but I I don't like the way that they
- 29:04treat these players. And I always said that with the
- 29:06Mets team culture like they're still trying to establish that
- 29:08they're a money pit right now. They pay guys, but they still
- 29:11operate a very conventionally and this is another example of
- 29:14that too. Whatever the reason may be,
- 29:15whether or political, whether I. See the last Manaya guy?
- 29:19I think he is. I think Alonso was technically
- 29:22drafted by them, but he didn't come up until 19.
- 29:24So it is Nimmo is the last Manaya.
- 29:26Guy so yeah, a lot of those guys remaining, yeah, because they're
- 29:29all from these other trays. So yeah, it just again, a guy
- 29:32that was a fan favorite. Yeah, he did he have an amazing
- 29:34year every year, No, but he was pretty steadily.
- 29:36Good hustle guy, good defensive guy at his peak yeah, he had a
- 29:39big contract. Maybe it was going to be moved
- 29:41on later, but again, doing it, that's surprising.
- 29:43When fashion, I agree with you. It was a lot the same way.
- 29:44And you saw when Wilbur Flores was crying on the field because
- 29:47he got traded or almost traded by the Mets in 2015.
- 29:50Like, you have a loyalty to this organization, and Nimmo had that
- 29:53for almost a decade. All right, we're going to go
- 29:56over to college basketball with this next.
- 29:59Story. College basketball.
- 30:02I don't know if you caught this, but the leading scorer of USC is
- 30:08Chad Baker Mazzara. He has been kicked off of the
- 30:12team, effectively ending his college career.
- 30:16Errol, he's 26 years old. If you remember, he was one of
- 30:22the guys on that Auburn team last year that went to the Final
- 30:25Four. Almost won it all.
- 30:28He's played for five different teams in six years.
- 30:32He was thrown off of I believe San Diego State for academic
- 30:36issues. He's been out of trouble.
- 30:37Well, the story is they've lost. They're in the middle of losing
- 30:40their fifth in a row, USC and he just he got hurt.
- 30:46He came back from being hurt instead of joining the team on
- 30:49the bench, sat under the base the the hoop in the baseline
- 30:53with the fans. Apparently there's a lot more
- 30:56going on behind the scenes. He is gone.
- 30:59What a catastrophe for a Southern Cal.
- 31:05Dial it up. Well, here's what I'm going to
- 31:09say. USC has not been a good
- 31:12basketball program for a while. They really haven't.
- 31:16I remember somebody that was drafted as the number one picks,
- 31:19but you know what I'm talking about.
- 31:20Mobley. No, there's a guy.
- 31:22I'm not talking about Mobley. This was actually that was LSU.
- 31:27I'm I'm going to go off that USC, it was Mobley.
- 31:29Mobley was the last guy that was good coming out of USA.
- 31:32So you're right. And he plays for the Cavaliers.
- 31:34I, I here's the thing. USC basketball has not been
- 31:38very, very good. Now, I haven't heard this story,
- 31:40but I'm not surprised that something is going on behind the
- 31:43scenes. And maybe it has something to do
- 31:45with the coaching staff. Maybe it didn't like the coach
- 31:48or maybe there's something going on or he he doesn't like the way
- 31:51they're coaching certain players.
- 31:53I'm not surprised this is going on.
- 31:55This is, listen, you're a player, you're getting a
- 31:58scholarship. You decided to go to USC.
- 31:59You decided to go into the portal and pick USC.
- 32:05You don't like something, act like a man.
- 32:07Go and talk to the coaching staff.
- 32:08Go talk to the director of of the sports or the education and
- 32:12of it. Why are you going out there and
- 32:14throwing yourself under the bus where you're going to get
- 32:15yourself thrown off the team? This is absolutely a joke.
- 32:18It just shows you that the leadership over there at USC has
- 32:22not been good since Pete Carroll.
- 32:25A different sport? I'm just saying national
- 32:29champion Pete Carroll twice, back-to-back years.
- 32:32Well, hang on, USC has had something recently though.
- 32:36I mean, they had Ronnie James recently, the great Ronnie James
- 32:40on USC. Four points of them.
- 32:44But not really. That's what it comes down.
- 32:46To this. Program, this program has been a
- 32:48really bit of a stink bomb recently.
- 32:49And to be honest with you, it's not looking any better.
- 32:52I mean, really, I don't know the whole situation with this kid or
- 32:55whatnot, but I mean, there's definitely a way to handle it
- 32:57and to not handle it. I mean, it's not even that it's
- 32:59it's it looks necessarily terrible to the team.
- 33:02It's terrible to the team. It is terrible to the team that
- 33:04you got got yourself kicked off on and who just to know whatever
- 33:07is going to happen following whatever team you do transfer to
- 33:10or whatever team. He's going to be like that guy
- 33:12that just finished ten years in Miami.
- 33:14What is that guy's name? The tight end?
- 33:16I don't know his name, but it's not even from a memorable name.
- 33:19But anyways, it's it's going to be a mess.
- 33:21Listen, listen to the the names that have been on USC
- 33:25basketball. DeMar DeRozan.
- 33:27All right, Paul Westfall, Gus Williams.
- 33:31Hold on. Taj Gibson, Harold Meyer, Nick
- 33:34Young, OJ Mayo, OJ Cliff Robertson.
- 33:40He would probably be, in my eyes, be the best one.
- 33:43I mean, I don't know if anybody remembers Clifford Robertson.
- 33:45He played, if I'm not mistaken, he played for the Portland Trail
- 33:48Blazers. I love the way he played at the
- 33:51time that he was at, I think it was.
- 33:53I think he was on the Trail Blazers.
- 33:54Yeah, I think the 70s Trail Blazers seem the only one that
- 33:57won a title, I believe in the late 70s.
- 34:00I just want to mention. DeMar Derozan's probably.
- 34:02Yes, yeah, I would say Derozan's probably the best, but let me
- 34:04just like sub in a little before we move on.
- 34:06I was going to mention like they got rid of their their coach
- 34:09left in Andy Enfield, that USC had their best season in a
- 34:13while. That was with Mobley.
- 34:14They went to the elite as a six year.
- 34:15They got smoked by Gonzaga. Remember how good they were with
- 34:18OJ Mayo and everybody was thinking that they were going to
- 34:20win a national championship. Right.
- 34:21And that's why you would think like you were talking about what
- 34:23Pete Carroll, you would think that they would like rise their
- 34:25whole athletic program into something like that.
- 34:27Didn't OJ Mayo had a problem over there in USC and that's why
- 34:30he fell in the draft? A little before my time, I
- 34:32think. He had a problems, I think he
- 34:34definitely. Definitely is possible.
- 34:35And if it does step up from the athletic department, you wonder
- 34:39if there's issues behind that too.
- 34:40Because Baker Mazzara, like you were saying, Fish, he went to a
- 34:43final four with San Diego State. He went to a Final four with
- 34:45Auburn. Like this is an experienced guy.
- 34:47This is a good player and it's something you would want with
- 34:50leadership there with a new coach And Eric Musselpin, the
- 34:52very well respected, a good coach in Arkansas for a while.
- 34:55And now you're just dragging the program around.
- 34:56You have the whole Brian James Robelo for that too.
- 34:59And going to the Big 10, that's a gauntlet.
- 35:01Good luck trying to recreate your image as a program.
- 35:04I mean, I haven't been around a ton of like high end, like high
- 35:08school basketball talent, but the best 16 year old I ever saw
- 35:11play live was OJ. Yeah, it was good.
- 35:13I was at the ABCD basketball camp one year and he was there
- 35:17doing like the underclassmen game.
- 35:18He was by far the best one there.
- 35:20Underclassmen and and including the guys older than him.
- 35:23It was like the year after LeBron was there, I got there
- 35:26and it wasn't like the same level of talent, unfortunately.
- 35:29But let's move on to the next story.
- 35:32This one we're going to bring in our intern for because we're
- 35:35going to get back to the track. Yes, Tyler Reddick, MJ 2311
- 35:45Racing. He makes NASCAR history by
- 35:49becoming the first person ever to win the first three races of
- 35:54the NASCAR season. This was after a long drought.
- 35:57Obviously. We talked about it when the
- 35:59Daytona 500 happened. He wins the Daytona, which is
- 36:02the opening race of the year. He then followed it up with the
- 36:05Auto Trader 400 in Atlanta. He overcame a bunch of crash
- 36:10damage to become the victor and that one kind of, I believe just
- 36:14like the Daytona race. And in this third race, he
- 36:18started from the pole and LED over half of the race.
- 36:22Errol. There were pictures of MJ
- 36:25holding up the three after his three peat alongside Tyler
- 36:29Reddick in his three peat side by side all over the Internet.
- 36:34How do you feel about the championship drive and compet in
- 36:38the competitive nature of MJ never going away and finding
- 36:42this way all the way to NASCAR? Dial it up now listen, who the
- 36:47hell is Tyler Renick? Who the hell is this guy?
- 36:52This guy wins 3 back-to-back raises.
- 36:54I'm like, this is like days of Thunder.
- 36:56He comes out of nowhere and you got coal.
- 36:59And maybe maybe they're making a new days of Thunder movie.
- 37:02I think they are days of Thunder too.
- 37:03I mean, Tom Cruise is going to be in and I I saw it coming
- 37:06attraction. So maybe they have Tyler Reddick
- 37:09the starring, you know, the the second bad guy on the show.
- 37:12He doesn't look like a bad guy. I mean, it looks like a sweet,
- 37:14kind guy. And and Michael Jordan comes out
- 37:17and I saw, I saw a couple of videos, Michael Jordan talking
- 37:20to all the the top racers and he's like, he's like, I'm trying
- 37:24to catch you guys. I'm trying to catch you guys.
- 37:27They're talking about me, but who the hell am I?
- 37:29I'm I'm just a basketball player.
- 37:32It's great to see Michael Jordan and has his hands dipped in
- 37:34everything. It really is.
- 37:36It's great and Michael Jordan seems like everything he touches
- 37:39turns to gold except a Charlotte Hornets.
- 37:42He didn't turn the goal over there and and eventually he sold
- 37:45the organization. But this guy is a multi
- 37:48billionaire. The guy understands what it
- 37:51takes to build organizations and maybe he found a diamond in a
- 37:55rough and Tyler Reddick. I mean, I don't know how tall he
- 37:59is. He looks like he's like 5 foot 8
- 38:00and 5 foot. He's a small guy.
- 38:03It looks like he's a small guy, but he he he looks you know, he
- 38:07looks like you know, ginger gingerbread, you know,
- 38:10gingerbread kid. I guess I I don't know good for
- 38:12him. I I'm I'm happy for him.
- 38:14Hopefully he consistently plays. What does he have like 180?
- 38:18I think it's like I'm looking at 186 points right now in three
- 38:21races. He's 3 and OII mean he's been
- 38:24racing. He think he's, he's polling at
- 38:26#1 so good for him, good for him.
- 38:30Yeah, so it was, it was super impressive.
- 38:32It was a really impressive drive.
- 38:34I think probably the only thing more impressive than winning the
- 38:40Daytona 500, which is insanely difficult to win.
- 38:43I mean, you really need more than skill.
- 38:45It took the what is arguably the the greatest race car driver of
- 38:49all time, Dale Earnhardt, 20 years just to win the Daytona
- 38:52500. And and Reddick's pretty young.
- 38:55I mean, he's only been in the sport just a few years.
- 38:59And then winning the the Auto Trader race in Atlanta with with
- 39:05damage. I mean, after getting caught up
- 39:06in the big one, that is pretty much unheard of.
- 39:09And then what I would say was super impressive from
- 39:13yesterday's race was beating Shane van Gisbergen who is a
- 39:17multi time champion in the Australian V8 Supercar series.
- 39:21He's a New Zealander so he's he's been down there, he's
- 39:24whooped everybody's ass in that series.
- 39:26And so he decided he wanted to come to the States and come and
- 39:29whoop our guys's ass on the road.
- 39:31And he's got 5 consecutive race wins on road courses.
- 39:37He won his first start which was on a road course.
- 39:43And Denny Hamlin, the co-owner of 2311 Racing, said himself
- 39:48that Reddick is a more complete driver than him.
- 39:50And what I think he means by that is he can win on these
- 39:53superspeedway races. He can win on these really
- 39:56dynamic kind of pseudo superspeedway races that Echo
- 40:01Park Speedway has become. And then these intermediate
- 40:05cookie cutters and then kind of this this big terror inducing.
- 40:10What was that? I think it's interesting.
- 40:13I'm listening to you. I'm like, I haven't.
- 40:15I haven't really been a race car fan since Dale Earnhardt.
- 40:18He was my favorite race car drive.
- 40:19I watched every big race he was in.
- 40:22But I don't know anything about this kid.
- 40:24All I know is Michael Jordan finds a diamond in the rough.
- 40:27He brings this guy in and this guy is just unstoppable.
- 40:31Unstoppable right now. It's unbelievable.
- 40:33I think I didn't. I'm not so shocked that it
- 40:36happened. You know, I think it was a
- 40:38matter of time, which I'm kind of shocked it hasn't happened
- 40:40before. The 1st 3 races in a season has
- 40:43been, you know, won by the same driver.
- 40:45I'm not shocked that it happened.
- 40:47I think I'm shocked that it's this group, you know, 2311, they
- 40:51started in 2021 after, you know, they got a charter that had been
- 40:56sold to Michael Jordan, Denny Hamlin.
- 40:59They, I mean, it's 2026 like this, their fifth season on the
- 41:04track. You don't get this kind of
- 41:07outstanding performance from these new teams usually.
- 41:13And so it's it's really impressive that it is this team
- 41:16and it's this driver. I mean, Tyler Reddick has wins
- 41:19and he's consistent like he's won a regular season
- 41:23championship before with this organization.
- 41:26But it's pretty insane that it's this driver because he just
- 41:29never really had those those big kind of sexy wins.
- 41:33You know that you get like these and when they turned back to the
- 41:39case format for the championship this year, this is the best
- 41:43opportunity that Tyler Reddick has ever had to win a
- 41:46championship. And I mean, he's already 3 races
- 41:51in, has three wins. And you really see in a
- 41:54championship, you get a driver with about 5 or 6 or more wins.
- 41:59Is has been good for a championship in the old format
- 42:03to this extent is, is insane. I mean, it is really a testament
- 42:07to the team. It's a testament to how Reddick
- 42:11has been doing in the offseason, especially for a road course.
- 42:16I mean you don't just you don't just get good at a road course
- 42:18overnight, which he has had this skill before, but being able to
- 42:22beat SVG in a road course alone is is outstanding work.
- 42:27Wow. Listen to you, Zach.
- 42:29You. You really know your race car
- 42:30drivers. I like it.
- 42:32It is about all I know. Real.
- 42:34I mean, you can see my little flag up here.
- 42:36I got my. I got my steering wheel.
- 42:38That's good, man. I like it.
- 42:40I like. It I feel like I need a a
- 42:42backdrop like y'all have. It's like Daytona.
- 42:44I like it. Y'all have, y'all have.
- 42:46He's definitely solid. I'll get you something.
- 42:49I'll get, I'll get everybody something.
- 42:51Yeah, we'll get it figured out in the next couple of weeks.
- 42:52Y'all have I like. That was that was great.
- 42:55Let's. Move on.
- 42:56On to the next story, Errol. You're going to really, really
- 43:00crack. What is it tennis now?
- 43:01Are we going to get into tennis? No former Rick Pitino assistant
- 43:08calls him a cranky old bitch. I thought you might appreciate
- 43:12this. This is Kevin Willard, the head
- 43:15coach of the Villanova Wild. We know Kevin.
- 43:20Kevin Willard is hilarious but he got himself in trouble
- 43:24because people didn't understand his sense of humor.
- 43:28So this is after they got destroyed by Pitino and St.
- 43:33John's. I'm not BS ING you.
- 43:35I don't have hair because of this guy.
- 43:39It's the most miserable experience in life.
- 43:43You fear your life. And as he's gotten older, he's
- 43:46probably become more of a cranky old bitch.
- 43:51He kept going. I'm having a little trouble
- 43:53loading it on here, but he then had to clarify his statement
- 43:57saying he loves Pitino. He was his guy that brought him
- 44:01along. Coach Pitino gave me my first
- 44:03opportunity as a coach. I fact I'm forever grateful for.
- 44:07Is it possible to calculate how much I learned in every aspect
- 44:10of the game in my 10 years working for him?
- 44:12Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah.
- 44:14Kiss. Ass Errol I I've worked with a
- 44:17lot of guys I've coach. We talk to each other in ways
- 44:21that are not maybe this but similar in a way.
- 44:25I think you would be surprised how like a lot not you, but I
- 44:30was wondering if you have any stories of just how ridiculous
- 44:34some of the coaches spoke to each other and some of the ways
- 44:37that people have been around you in sports when you dial it.
- 44:41Up first of all, I know Kevin. I think we we all know who Kevin
- 44:45is. He's a great personality.
- 44:47He's great for college basketball and I love Rick
- 44:50Pitino. But the best championship
- 44:54coaches are the biggest Dicks. That's a fact.
- 44:57Guys, you go back, look at Bill Belichick, you think he's
- 45:00likable. He's not.
- 45:01He's a first ballot Hall of Famer.
- 45:03He's not in the Hall of Fame. I mean, John Wooden, you talk
- 45:06about him, look at all the guys that we have seen, all the
- 45:09greats. How about, I don't know, we
- 45:13could go back in time, the Green Bay Packers, you know where I'm
- 45:15going with sweetie. You know what I'm talking about
- 45:18Lombardi. Lombardi was a crazy maniac.
- 45:21If you go back to all the championship great coaches,
- 45:25they're all asses. They all are just a it's a fact.
- 45:30And for Rick Pitino, for anybody to think Rick Pitino's a nice
- 45:33guy, Nice guys finish last. And that's what I like about
- 45:37Rick Pitino. That's why I knew he was going
- 45:39to bring back St. John's basketball because the
- 45:42Red Storm hasn't had that guy in office.
- 45:44They brought Chris Mullins. He's too nice of guy.
- 45:47It never worked. So if you ask me, ask Neil
- 45:50Smith, Mike Keenan, I mean, they didn't get along and you'll, you
- 45:56see what happened. Mike Keenan was the nice guy.
- 45:59I mean, I'm sorry, Mike Keenan was the bad guy and Neil Smith
- 46:02was the nice guy. It did it work.
- 46:04It worked. It worked for one year and then
- 46:06they they had to, they had to split up.
- 46:09It just sometimes you just got to deal with that personality,
- 46:14that bad personality and sometimes it doesn't work and
- 46:17sometimes that bad personality doesn't work.
- 46:19It didn't. It hasn't worked for The Jets.
- 46:21I mean, nice guys, you have all these nice guys, Rex Ryan, nice
- 46:25guy Robert Solid, nice guy. Todd Bowles, everybody says he's
- 46:28a nice guy. Eric Glenn looks like he's an
- 46:31ass, but we'll see how that works next year.
- 46:33But I mean, nice guys finish last.
- 46:36It's coaching. You need a leader that's going
- 46:39to stick it. And I think this is great.
- 46:41I I like Rick Pitino just because of that.
- 46:43Look at Danny Hurley. You think Danny Hurley is a nice
- 46:45guy? He's a two time national
- 46:47champion. He's a Dick.
- 46:49He's screaming across the across the court against Purdue and
- 46:53Edie. Remember that he was calling
- 46:55them names and, and, and people were watching it and people were
- 46:59attacking him after the game. And you know what?
- 47:01You know what he said? He says who won the
- 47:03championship. That's right, I did.
- 47:06So it doesn't matter. It's all about championship.
- 47:09It's all about winning. And I like it.
- 47:11So Kevin can complain. And Kevin at the end of
- 47:14everything was kissing his ass as well as he should because
- 47:17Rick Pitino gave you an opportunity to be an assistant
- 47:20coach on his roster and now gave you an opportunity to move up
- 47:24and and coach other teams and make more money and an open up
- 47:27opportunity for your family. So kiss his ass, get on his, get
- 47:32on your knees. And just because that's what I'd
- 47:35be doing if Rick Pitino, if I was his assistant coach and he
- 47:38was yelling at me and calling me names, I'd be like, Rick, love
- 47:41you, but you know, you are Rick Pitino.
- 47:45So that's, that's all I'm going to say.
- 47:46Get me another coaching job. I don't know.
- 47:49I, I, I think this is great for basketball.
- 47:52Rick Pitino's an ass. He always was.
- 47:55And, and that's why he is where he is.
- 47:56That's all I'm going to say about that.
- 47:58I totally agree. The best college, just College
- 48:01in general, not just basketball, but the best college coaches are
- 48:04Dicks. Think about Nick Saban.
- 48:06You said Danny Hurley, like these guys aren't nice people.
- 48:10They you got to do what you got to do to to motivate your guys
- 48:14to get them ready week in and week out.
- 48:16And this doesn't surprise me at all.
- 48:18I mean, Rick Pitino's not. He doesn't look like a nice guy.
- 48:22He's not. I met Rick Pitino years ago,
- 48:25Zoot, I met Rick Pitino years ago.
- 48:27When he speaks to you, he's very nice.
- 48:29To the fans and people, media, he's good.
- 48:32He's a good person if you're nice to him.
- 48:34If he remembers you and he don't like you, stay the hell away
- 48:38from him. He will bite your freaking head
- 48:40off. He's one of those guys that he
- 48:43just. He could be nasty, but that's
- 48:45what winnings all about. You can.
- 48:47You have the right to be nasty if you're a winner.
- 48:50Phil Jackson, Everybody says Phil Jackson was a nice guy.
- 48:53Oh, he's the Zen master. He's the Zen master.
- 48:56How many coaches said that he was a complete Dick?
- 48:59How many Nick executives said Phil Jackson was a complete,
- 49:03complete Dick? So I mean, nice guys finish last
- 49:08period. Or Bill Belichick.
- 49:11Bill Belichick, anybody? No Parcells.
- 49:14Patriots were a fun team to play for.
- 49:16They were the the Darth Vader, the Empire of the league.
- 49:19Everybody hated the Patriots, hated Belichick.
- 49:22And yet they won every year, over and over again.
- 49:25That's what it takes to win. I guess so.
- 49:29There, there are there are managers that are, you know,
- 49:32nice like Joe Torre holds the bat, fiddles around with the
- 49:35bat. Yeah, I mean, he was one of the
- 49:37lucky ones. But the great championship
- 49:41teams, if you go back and look at the greatest coaches of all
- 49:44time, and we've done this before on in like Flynn, I will tell
- 49:49you, out of my top 10, even Coach K Coach K is a player's
- 49:53coach. But if you ever seen him
- 49:55practice, you see how mad he gets.
- 49:58He is a Dick that's say whatever you want.
- 50:01That's what he is. He expects perfection.
- 50:05That's why he is a great coach. He expects greatness.
- 50:08How about Bobby Knight? Remember him throwing his chairs
- 50:12on the court, going crazy, yelling at the referees?
- 50:15He's he's one of the greatest college coaches of all time.
- 50:19You think he was a nice guy? He almost had a heart attack
- 50:21every time he was on a basketball court.
- 50:23So you have to, you have to have some kind of personality.
- 50:27Bobby Knight certainly did, that's for sure.
- 50:30We got one story left, and this is something I think we're going
- 50:33to see a lot of this baseball season coming up.
- 50:35Errol, this was something that I got a video for.
- 50:39And this is a Red Sox outfielder who speedy, I think was rumored
- 50:43to be traded to the Mets last year.
- 50:45This is Willier Abreu. Willier Abreu, he shows up an
- 50:51umph in a way. I have not seen anyone do this
- 50:54yet because this year we're going to have the ABS challenge
- 50:58system. So let me put this up here for
- 51:01you guys to watch. And he's going to take this as a
- 51:05called third strike, but he's just going to go look, take his
- 51:08shoes off. He puts his hands up and just
- 51:10taps his head and keeps walking to first base even though he was
- 51:16called out. Doesn't turn around and just
- 51:19stands on first base. It turns out he was right by .6
- 51:25inches, which is not exactly that.
- 51:29It's a pretty close call. He just kind of like tough
- 51:33stared him on a challenge. I mean I've I've seen a lot of
- 51:37ways to show up umpires. This is certainly a new one.
- 51:42Dial it up. What is going on with the MLB?
- 51:47Guy takes off his cleats and walks to first base.
- 51:52How does he not get thrown out? By that I mean, I throw him out
- 51:55of the game, I throw him out of the game.
- 51:58You're calling me out, I'm your umpire and you're taking off
- 52:01your cleats and walking to first base and looking like a Jackass.
- 52:06I'm sorry. This is just so disrespectful.
- 52:08And and this is the problem right now in professional
- 52:11sports. They're changing rules.
- 52:12They're adding rules. It doesn't benefit anybody when
- 52:15you see players like this. And and I I, I don't even know
- 52:18who this guy is. I mean, if I was the opera, I'm
- 52:21like, you're not OK. You're not Pete Alonzo, you're
- 52:23not Juan Soto, you're not Aaron Judge, you're not any of these
- 52:27guys. And you're you're going to call
- 52:29me out, you're going to play me. I was like, get out of here, get
- 52:32out. You're out of here, get out of
- 52:33here. It just embarrassing.
- 52:36I, I, I hope this doesn't happen in a regular regular main Major
- 52:39League game. Is this is, this is really,
- 52:41really embarrassing. I think baseball needs to make a
- 52:43statement on this, that this cannot be going on moving
- 52:47forward. When the season starts, there's
- 52:49162 games. I know everybody likes these new
- 52:52rules and they like the new robotic crap, these boxes and
- 52:57stuff like that. It might be better.
- 52:59It might be good for the playoffs.
- 53:01This is not good for the regular season and you're trying to
- 53:03speed up the game. This is what they're doing.
- 53:05They're trying to speed up the game.
- 53:06How is this speeding up the game A baseball when you you can
- 53:09challenge a call like this? Oh, you can count.
- 53:12You can now challenge a strike and you can watch the strike in
- 53:16the in the box. Give me a break.
- 53:18Baseball needs to clean this up. Rob Manfred, you're an idiot.
- 53:21You're a Jackass. This is stupid dumb and stupid
- 53:24ABS crap. I mean, give me a break.
- 53:27Automatic balls and strikes. It's the new way of.
- 53:31Sure it's not automatic breaks. Look, there's been millions of
- 53:35ways to show up umpires over the years.
- 53:37That's pathetic. There's magic words that can't
- 53:41be said. That's different.
- 53:43Take it off your cleats. I would, you know what I would
- 53:46have done? If I'm going to really just call
- 53:48him out, I would have just pulled my pants down.
- 53:49I would open up my belt, pull my pants down a walk to first base
- 53:53in my boxer. Shorts didn't shirt.
- 53:55Didn't Scherzer do that? That one time dropped.
- 53:58The first year of the of the sticky substance challenge, he
- 54:01went to a whole another extreme. Like obviously the situation,
- 54:05the way they handle it was bad, and the Mets got screwed in a
- 54:07couple other instances, but I couldn't even defend.
- 54:09That's why I love church, I think.
- 54:11You're going to see a lot more of this.
- 54:14I'm curious to see where it goes.
- 54:16He was right. He should have been walked.
- 54:18If you can get it right. Isn't that what's important?
- 54:21I don't know. I think, I think we have some
- 54:23takes from maybe our other intern at this one.
- 54:26It's disrespectful. I don't know why you don't.
- 54:27You just challenge it and if you're right then you go to
- 54:31first. You don't got to do all that,
- 54:33get the call right and then be at first.
- 54:35No dude, just challenge it. It's right.
- 54:38Then go, we're going to be doing this throughout the EBS system.
- 54:40I mean, you guys can do this now, so that's good.
- 54:43I like it, but you don't going to show up in an empire like
- 54:46that. You know what I want to say?
- 54:47Also I want to say. So I'm sorry to cut you off.
- 54:51Also, Alex Korra, did you see his face?
- 54:54Alex Korra thought it was funny. I mean, this is the same Alex
- 54:58Korra that was part of that cheating scandal, was he not?
- 55:01Did he think that was funny too, how he robbed the Yankees for
- 55:03another World Series? Because I'm sorry, that was not
- 55:07funny. And Alex, if, if you know how to
- 55:09reprimand your players, I would have reprimanded him after the
- 55:12game. Don't do that.
- 55:13Don't show up anything. This is loyalty of the game.
- 55:17And you don't do that that that's embarrassing.
- 55:20Alex Gore was laughing. He was smirking.
- 55:22I know it's a preseason game. You don't do that in baseball
- 55:25games. I'm sorry.
- 55:27Sorry, Dom. Dom, you got anything else?
- 55:29Because I, I thought it was pretty wild that, you know, I
- 55:33don't know if you've done any umpiring like Little League or
- 55:36anything like that. I, I've been a referee, I've
- 55:38done things like that. There's nothing worse than when
- 55:41someone like, shows you up and like, you feel like you have to
- 55:44do something and cause a scene because you don't want to do
- 55:46that. You just want to get through it.
- 55:47You want to get paid, you want to get out of there.
- 55:49I can't imagine just like the amount of like hate people are
- 55:54going to get. So for for both the sides of
- 55:56this thing. So you could shut the music off.
- 55:59I will say this, I want to tell you guys a funny story.
- 56:01I have a very, very funny story. So I was I was an umpire for ASA
- 56:07and I I before the game, it was a very, very hot summer game,
- 56:13Speedy, You know where I'm going with this.
- 56:15And it was a double header. It was a girls softball game and
- 56:19we were out of school and I was rushing.
- 56:22So I stopped to 711. I got myself a Coca-Cola Slurpee
- 56:25and a buttered roll. All right, I ate it before the
- 56:28game because I was rushing. I didn't eat anything the whole
- 56:30day. So I go to the game and I
- 56:33started getting stomach aches. I got bad, bad stomach aches.
- 56:36I really, really had to go to the bathroom.
- 56:38So I called, I put a hold on the game and I ran up to the coach
- 56:42as I said I need to go to the bathroom.
- 56:44I got to I got to go up to the school and go to the bathroom.
- 56:47They said don't worry about it, just try to get back as soon as
- 56:49you can. So I run up to the school.
- 56:52Funny story is I go up in the school and all the school, all
- 56:57the doors are locked and I'm like oh God, what am I going to
- 57:00do? So I'm knocking on the windows,
- 57:03nobody open. So I go from every single window
- 57:05until I find a window that's open.
- 57:07I crawl through the window ass, you know, face first ass out.
- 57:12It was it was pretty funny. People were watching me do this
- 57:15and it's dark. The whole building is dark so
- 57:18you can't see nothing dark. I was in a classroom.
- 57:22I get through the classroom door and I'm looking for the
- 57:24bathroom. Finally find the bathroom guys.
- 57:26There's no way open up the the guys bathroom lights.
- 57:29It was all off. I'm trying to find the toilet
- 57:32bowl with my phone. OK, I go to the toilet and I
- 57:37just, you know, I do my work. OK, So I after I'm done, I
- 57:42realize there's a lock on the toilet paper.
- 57:45All right? There's there's no toilet paper.
- 57:47There's nothing. So I had to make a decision on
- 57:52how I was going to wipe my ass. True story is I took my
- 57:56underwear off and I started wiping my ass with my underwear.
- 58:01I, I finally everybody asked me what did I do in my underwear.
- 58:04I couldn't find the garbage. I threw it to the side.
- 58:08I, I pull up my pants. I, I pull up my pants.
- 58:12I, I, I dude, I played. I was calling two women 2 girls
- 58:17softball games bare ass. OK, no, no underwear, no
- 58:22underwear, no nothing. As a matter of fact, one of the
- 58:25coaches came up to me and he said, where'd you go to the
- 58:29bathroom? I have to go to the bathroom,
- 58:30you know, after, before the second game.
- 58:33And I said, you don't want to know how I got into the, the
- 58:36bathroom. And he he started laughing.
- 58:39I was like, what, what do I have to do?
- 58:40I was like, you don't have to do anything because if I told you
- 58:42what I do, it'd probably make you sick.
- 58:44So the funny story is, is that every time I see that school
- 58:50here in Long Island, it makes me laugh.
- 58:52Every time I pass that school, I remember what I did.
- 58:55True story on that as an umpire, Asai did it for two years.
- 59:00It was fun. It was great.
- 59:01Got a got a chance to see angry parents, people yelling at me,
- 59:06telling me they're going to kill me, wait for me after the game
- 59:08and threaten that I'm going to get murdered.
- 59:10And and some of the father's getting in my face kicking dirt
- 59:14at me and I'm looking at him. I'm like, this is a girls
- 59:16softball game or and then I played.
- 59:19I would do the men's softball games and they're even more
- 59:22crazier. They get drunk wasted before the
- 59:25game. And if I make a terrible strike
- 59:27call because it's like slow pitch, you know, softball.
- 59:32And I'm saying I'm like, dude, a little girl can hit this ball
- 59:35and they're striking out and I call a strike because it's not
- 59:38falling behind the plate. It's falling in front of the
- 59:41plate and it looks like a strike to me.
- 59:42They're going crazy. They want to kill me.
- 59:44I, I told the guy, so a guy stole second base and I called
- 59:49him safe when he was really out. I, I knew he was, I knew he was
- 59:53out, but I called him safe because I couldn't stand the the
- 59:55captain of the other team. He comes out in the middle of
- 59:59the middle of the field. And he could, he looks at me,
- 1:00:03grabs a bat while he's walking out and I and before he got, he
- 1:00:07got to the pitching mound, the pitcher steps off and I walk
- 1:00:10right there. I say drop the F in bat or I'm
- 1:00:13going to throw you and your team out of here and you're not going
- 1:00:15to be playing this league. He took the bat and he threw it
- 1:00:18out in the outfield and he walked out to the dugout.
- 1:00:21I threw him and three of the other players out of the game.
- 1:00:24I told them they have to leave or I'm canceling the game.
- 1:00:27They all left. I'll never forget it.
- 1:00:29After the game, they waited for me out in the in the parking lot
- 1:00:32and before I walked in the parking lot because I was ready
- 1:00:35to fight, I took off my shirt. I was ready to fight.
- 1:00:38I, the other umpire tells me, he says you are staying right here
- 1:00:42until I settle or try to calm this down before it becomes, you
- 1:00:46know, cops and everything like that.
- 1:00:47I'll never forget it. Dude, these people are nuts.
- 1:00:50They're nuts. They they take things too
- 1:00:53seriously and and it's a it's a softball game and it's a beer
- 1:00:58league, you know, so crazy, crazy.
- 1:01:00But it's fun. It's fun.
- 1:01:02There are times that I could say I had a good time.
- 1:01:05I love watching Nick Goody coach's son.
- 1:01:07I will say that Nick is great to watch because he gets really
- 1:01:10into the game and he's fantastic.
- 1:01:13And I want to give a shout out to Nick.
- 1:01:14You know, I know Nick is, you know, dealing with what he's
- 1:01:18dealing with and hopefully he gets into where he wants to get
- 1:01:20into. I love there he is.
- 1:01:22We love you, Nick and we miss you dude.
- 1:01:23And hopefully we get him on soon.
- 1:01:25And I want to give a shout out to the all the, all the great
- 1:01:28interns that we've had over the years.
- 1:01:30But these three guys have been great, sensational, happy to
- 1:01:33have him on board and continue working with them.
- 1:01:36I, I give them all the, I give all the guys the credit because
- 1:01:40that's a good one. I do miss Nick.
- 1:01:46I miss his craziness. I do, I, it's funny, I text him
- 1:01:52all the time and he's telling me I got a ball game and he's
- 1:01:55telling me all about the game. And he tells me it's freezing
- 1:01:57out here. And I'm like, what's the weather
- 1:02:00out here? It's like it's 50°.
- 1:02:01I said that's freezing. Jesus.
- 1:02:03I'm like, give me a break. Stop being a bitch.
- 1:02:06You know, I'm like, you're such a girl.
- 1:02:10But and he's, he's a great person And I, I enjoy people
- 1:02:15that I get to meet over the years and, and everybody, all
- 1:02:18the guys that I've worked with, even the guys that I can't stand
- 1:02:20now that are in the industry and I can tell them to go after
- 1:02:23themselves over and over and over again.
- 1:02:25I respect all their work and their efforts in, in, in, in all
- 1:02:30their growth, their growth in this industry.
- 1:02:32So, and, and I really appreciate everybody for all the work that
- 1:02:37they put in on the back end of the show.
- 1:02:39So thank you. Thank you to all the fans, all
- 1:02:42the people tuning in and following us on Spotify and
- 1:02:45Apple. We had a very big weekend when
- 1:02:47it came to views and unique listeners.
- 1:02:52I I don't get what's going on as far as the Apple and Spotify
- 1:02:56credit doesn't make any sense to me.
- 1:02:59There were people jumping 100 spots.
- 1:03:00It makes no sense. There's somebody tampering over
- 1:03:04there at Apple, so it doesn't make any sense.
- 1:03:06But whatever, I'm not going to say anything.
- 1:03:09All I know is we really appreciate everybody on Apple
- 1:03:13and Spotify and audio and video for tuning in and checking us
- 1:03:16out on the YouTube channel. Job in the mouth.
- 1:03:19Job in the mouth, New York sports.
- 1:03:22Thank you. Our interns are working on the
- 1:03:24new YouTube channel, so go check that out and our drop in the
- 1:03:29mouth regular channel. We thank all the guys and girls
- 1:03:32and gals checking it out and tuning in.
- 1:03:35We really guys, we know we're not, we don't have a niche and
- 1:03:38that that could be the reason why people aren't driving to the
- 1:03:42YouTube channel all the time because we're not a Nick show.
- 1:03:45We're not a Nick show or a Yankee show or a Mets show or an
- 1:03:49Islanders or Rangers show or whatever.
- 1:03:52We're we're an all show. We like to talk all sports and I
- 1:03:56I I know that's something that affects the algorithm.
- 1:03:59So we were getting we understand what's going on, but we put it
- 1:04:02out there. We put our YouTube channel up
- 1:04:05for all the the people that want to watch the show live and check
- 1:04:08us out and, and TuneIn and interact with us.
- 1:04:11So that's why we do it. If it was up to me, we wouldn't
- 1:04:14even have a live YouTube channel.
- 1:04:15I really don't care, you know, So, but we appreciate all the
- 1:04:20fans that TuneIn on TikTok, Instagram X Jabba in the mouth
- 1:04:26like all the guys, girls that are tuning in on Facebook,
- 1:04:29worldwide sports radio network. It's great.
- 1:04:31We, we, we, we believe and I, I'm stuttering because I'm
- 1:04:35trying to get out the the magic words.
- 1:04:37It's not even we believe. The fact here is there is nobody
- 1:04:42in this industry putting up the numbers that we're putting up on
- 1:04:46every single platform that is not signed by a network.
- 1:04:50Now we are under blue wire and that is a network, but I'm
- 1:04:54talking about one of the major big networks.
- 1:04:57So what we're doing is unique and different.
- 1:05:00We work our asses off to entertain you guys and perform
- 1:05:04the best possible product that we have.
- 1:05:07We put it out there 110% and even the interns on the back
- 1:05:11end, they work on the videos, they cut, they chop, they put it
- 1:05:14out there. So for all the fans out there on
- 1:05:17Spotify and Apple listening to the steak right now, when when
- 1:05:19you get a chance to listen to it, listen to me and hear me
- 1:05:22out. You guys are the reason why we
- 1:05:24do this. You guys are the reason why we
- 1:05:27do this. So we appreciate all you guys
- 1:05:30that TuneIn and love what we do. It means the world to me.
- 1:05:34I want to thank everybody and we'll be back on Thursday with
- 1:05:39Chris Childs. Yes, Chris Childs will be here
- 1:05:42on Jabba in the Mouth. I want to give a shout out to
- 1:05:45Jabba Chamberlain. Today is the year anniversary of
- 1:05:48his father's passing. We, we love you Jabba.
- 1:05:51I hope everything's going well with you and your family.
