- 0:53Speaker 4: I was just driving one day and of course I
- 0:56Speaker 4: knew you did music, but and I saw that you
- 0:59Speaker 4: did music. I was driving listening to Cyrus x Sam
- 1:01Speaker 4: and I was like, damn, this is so hard as fun,
- 1:03Speaker 4: I said. I looked down. I said that this is
- 1:05Speaker 4: the money WHOA downloaded it added to my playlist. Been
- 1:10Speaker 4: a fan ever since.
- 1:11Speaker 2: Man, I love that man. I appreciate it. M your
- 1:14Speaker 2: serf for real?
- 1:15Speaker 6: You ready out?
- 1:16Speaker 1: Yeah, let's take it back to the beginning the money.
- 1:19Speaker 1: You know, this is your first time on the platform
- 1:21Speaker 1: on ball alert. Uh you know, can you take us
- 1:24Speaker 1: back to you know how the money grew up the
- 1:27Speaker 1: makings of who you are. Now we've seen you grow
- 1:30Speaker 1: up on TV. But you know that's the production aspect
- 1:33Speaker 1: of it, you know. But you you mentioned Riverdale many
- 1:36Speaker 1: times I heard throughout all most of your albums, So
- 1:42Speaker 1: let us know about the Dale a little bit.
- 1:44Speaker 2: So I stayed with my mother and stayed with my mother.
- 1:50Speaker 2: Most people don't know that we got different moms. So
- 1:56Speaker 2: me and Messiah got the same Momssida as my older brother.
- 2:00Speaker 2: Uh so boom, we both we both lived with her,
- 2:03Speaker 2: and uh we did stand Riverdale for a while.
- 2:08Speaker 4: I didn't know that.
- 2:09Speaker 2: You didn't know that.
- 2:10Speaker 4: I didn't know that. I didn't know you had the
- 2:12Speaker 4: same mom.
- 2:16Speaker 2: Us that it turned out to be a good balance.
- 2:18Speaker 2: But I wasn't looking at it like that at the time.
- 2:22Speaker 2: But so you could imagine, uh, going from this type
- 2:27Speaker 2: of situation which wasn't like bad, Like I didn't look
- 2:31Speaker 2: around like, man, we need to this is crazy. I
- 2:34Speaker 2: wasn't like that. But it's just like when you see
- 2:36Speaker 2: something else that's uh just like totally opposite of that.
- 2:42Speaker 2: It's like it make you you, you make you feel weird.
- 2:46Speaker 6: What do you what do you mean by that?
- 2:47Speaker 4: Like your dad like your dad's living arrangements and then you're.
- 2:50Speaker 2: Right and it's not like a like a bad thing.
- 2:53Speaker 2: It's just like I'm thinking about, dang, how does my
- 2:55Speaker 2: mom feel like going on trips and stuff? And she's
- 2:59Speaker 2: at the house and uh, going over here. Uh we
- 3:03Speaker 2: come back with closed toys. Uh, just whatever we asked
- 3:08Speaker 2: for for real, and uh, that's it, Just wondering how
- 3:13Speaker 2: she feel.
- 3:13Speaker 4: But she was very thoughtful of you that way too.
- 3:17Speaker 4: Most kids would be like, man, I'm good, I'm.
- 3:19Speaker 6: Living everybody like I'm going to my daddy house.
- 3:21Speaker 1: That's that that water sign you No, I'm gonna cancer though?
- 3:25Speaker 4: What was that.
- 3:28Speaker 2: Crying?
- 3:28Speaker 3: No?
- 3:31Speaker 1: You you feel the emotions. You know what I'm saying.
- 3:33Speaker 1: You feel for your family. My brother's a pis, so
- 3:36Speaker 1: you know he has a lot of emotions, and y'all
- 3:38Speaker 1: are the most emotional sign.
- 3:39Speaker 6: Of the whole.
- 3:40Speaker 1: Like we not yeah, but you know, were you her
- 3:44Speaker 1: only kids? You and Messia or did she.
- 3:46Speaker 2: Have were but at the time we would, but now
- 3:49Speaker 2: we got a sister. Okay, so she got another one.
- 3:52Speaker 1: So you know, when you came back from you know,
- 3:55Speaker 1: living such a lavish life, like you said, going on
- 3:57Speaker 1: trips and then you have it to adjust to go
- 3:59Speaker 1: back home home, was it kind of hard not to
- 4:01Speaker 1: be like braggadocious or you know, to your friends because
- 4:05Speaker 1: I know they're looking at you.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Yeah. So I probably started off being braggadocia because I
- 4:09Speaker 2: didn't understand it just yet. But then I realized, Man,
- 4:14Speaker 2: it's not that's not cool coming back telling everybody all
- 4:17Speaker 2: this good so I started keeping it to myself. So
- 4:21Speaker 2: you know how you might come back from a from
- 4:23Speaker 2: spring break or holiday, breaking the teacher to tell everybody
- 4:26Speaker 2: what you did over holiday. I just started just keeping
- 4:30Speaker 2: it simple. Just was chilling.
- 4:32Speaker 1: But when they saw you on TV, that's.
- 4:34Speaker 2: When it took it to another level.
- 4:36Speaker 4: And what grade or what year was this for you TV?
- 4:40Speaker 2: I think it might have been fifth grade.
- 4:41Speaker 4: Wow, damn, that's alloted to handle in fifth grade.
- 4:44Speaker 3: Man, I couldn't even imagine being on TV in the
- 4:47Speaker 3: fifth grade and then coming back to school. How was
- 4:49Speaker 3: that first experience when you first got on TV going
- 4:52Speaker 3: back into school, going to the fifth grade.
- 4:55Speaker 2: Of course, everybody see you on TV. But I was
- 4:58Speaker 2: already cool, like I I've been going to the same
- 5:02Speaker 2: school since well fourth grade actually, so that was a
- 5:07Speaker 2: shock to people, but they kind of grew with me.
- 5:10Speaker 2: It's like I didn't. I didn't pretty much switch schools
- 5:13Speaker 2: after that. So all my friends was already my friends.
- 5:16Speaker 4: Uh, it's just and everybody already knew t I was
- 5:20Speaker 4: your dad obviously.
- 5:21Speaker 2: Right, they had some people knew, but the TV definitely
- 5:26Speaker 2: they was like, oh, that's his daddy for real, and
- 5:29Speaker 2: I just seen you last night. Yeah, but it did
- 5:35Speaker 2: it give you.
- 5:35Speaker 1: Cool points that a lot of people want to be
- 5:37Speaker 1: your friend?
- 5:37Speaker 2: Probably?
- 5:39Speaker 4: Did you like that though?
- 5:40Speaker 2: Did you like?
- 5:41Speaker 4: How did you feel about because I don't think you
- 5:43Speaker 4: really had a choice, did you Did you have a choice?
- 5:45Speaker 2: Choice? Yeah? I mean they asked, I mean they asked,
- 5:47Speaker 2: did we want to do it? And I was like, shoot, yeah,
- 5:51Speaker 2: everyone had a choice.
- 5:52Speaker 4: Okay.
- 5:54Speaker 1: And you're older than Massiah, right.
- 5:56Speaker 2: He's the oldest thirteen months older than me, I believe.
- 5:59Speaker 1: Okay, Okay, were you looking to him a little bit
- 6:02Speaker 1: for guidance when you were younger?
- 6:05Speaker 2: I would, it'd be crazy, I said I would, I didn't.
- 6:07Speaker 2: I think I think I did for sure. That's my
- 6:10Speaker 2: older brother. I mean I look at I try to
- 6:13Speaker 2: learn from everybody. I look at my younger siblings too
- 6:15Speaker 2: for guidance too, because they'll mess around and say something
- 6:18Speaker 2: too soaking it all up exactly. So, but I definitely
- 6:24Speaker 2: did look look to him forgottness.
- 6:27Speaker 1: Well, you know, in your first project, I believe you
- 6:30Speaker 1: mentioned being a rapper and you know, helping your mom
- 6:34Speaker 1: live a better life for sure? Can you expound on
- 6:37Speaker 1: that a little bit?
- 6:38Speaker 2: A better life? I just wanted to match, just wanted
- 6:41Speaker 2: to match it, you know what I'm saying. So when
- 6:45Speaker 2: we go on a trip here, we can go on
- 6:47Speaker 2: a trip here. So that's just what, Like I said,
- 6:51Speaker 2: I was just thinking about how she may have felt
- 6:53Speaker 2: because we didn't really had that conversation, and I turned
- 6:58Speaker 2: to my music. I really just had that conversation in
- 7:00Speaker 2: my music. But after I guess as she heard the music,
- 7:05Speaker 2: she had to let me know because she didn't know
- 7:07Speaker 2: I was thinking like that. She was like, yeah, I
- 7:10Speaker 2: don't be thinking like that. The money and so, but yeah,
- 7:15Speaker 2: it's just that, it's just that it's just making sure
- 7:20Speaker 2: that is the same thing that we do over here,
- 7:22Speaker 2: that we're able to do it over here too.
- 7:25Speaker 4: Now, you said in the music when is when did
- 7:26Speaker 4: you start playing around with music?
- 7:28Speaker 2: Nine years old? Nine years old? Pops was locked up.
- 7:32Speaker 2: It was at the grandma house. My cousins was in
- 7:36Speaker 2: the studio. So my cousins kind of took over the
- 7:38Speaker 2: studio at my grandma house. And I was just around
- 7:42Speaker 2: in the basement just playing. And then one day I
- 7:45Speaker 2: just sat in the studio and they was playing some beats,
- 7:48Speaker 2: and then I just told my cousin, I said I
- 7:50Speaker 2: want to do something, and they all just looked at
- 7:52Speaker 2: me and they're like, what you talking about? I want
- 7:54Speaker 2: to do some music. And that's how it started.
- 7:56Speaker 4: When did you start taking it really seriously though?
- 7:59Speaker 2: Probably fourteen fifteen.
- 8:01Speaker 4: Now you really be you really be into your vibe. Now,
- 8:05Speaker 4: correct me if I'm wrong, Like hear a little.
- 8:06Speaker 2: J Cole is Jay Cole one of your favorite rappers,
- 8:08Speaker 2: Jake Cole, Jay z Andre, my father Wayne.
- 8:17Speaker 6: But yeah, you got you got a lot of favorites.
- 8:19Speaker 1: What do you feel like when people you know compare
- 8:22Speaker 1: you to Jake Cole or say, man, he sounds just
- 8:24Speaker 1: like j Cole.
- 8:25Speaker 2: I think that's the introduction to That's how everyone basically says,
- 8:30Speaker 2: this is something new and I like it, like when
- 8:34Speaker 2: you eat some food and you like it about Oh, this.
- 8:35Speaker 6: Tastes like woo, so you take it as a compliment.
- 8:39Speaker 2: Take it as a compliment.
- 8:41Speaker 6: Have you ever had a conversation with Jake Cole.
- 8:43Speaker 2: Or not about that? But we was at a camp.
- 8:47Speaker 2: Who was at a camp recently actually for his album,
- 8:50Speaker 2: and somebody was looking for I was there. Somebody looking
- 8:52Speaker 2: for me and thought I was him. He said the money.
- 8:56Speaker 2: He turned around, he said, nah, it's me.
- 9:01Speaker 4: You got the dress? What what what made you decide
- 9:04Speaker 4: to grow dreads locks locks?
- 9:07Speaker 2: That's a good catch too. I was just in class,
- 9:13Speaker 2: just twisting my hair. I had a fro at first,
- 9:15Speaker 2: and I was just in class twisting my hair and
- 9:17Speaker 2: I just left it.
- 9:20Speaker 4: That's simple that. There was no nothing behind.
- 9:23Speaker 2: It, no parting, no getting done, none of it. I
- 9:26Speaker 2: didn't sit down in my chair. I was just in class,
- 9:29Speaker 2: probably not paying attention doing this. It's just stayed.
- 9:33Speaker 1: Well, you're doing inspired your daddy. It looked like because
- 9:35Speaker 1: he got.
- 9:36Speaker 2: Oh yeah, talking about it. He was he was the
- 9:39Speaker 2: main one talking about.
- 9:40Speaker 6: What was What was he saying when you when you
- 9:42Speaker 6: got locks?
- 9:43Speaker 2: He was just because you know, you got to go
- 9:45Speaker 2: through that phase. You got to go through the with
- 9:49Speaker 2: your hair. Don't know whether to drop or stay up.
- 9:52Speaker 6: It's like it's like a yeah right all over the place.
- 9:55Speaker 2: So he was talking about it at first. It's just
- 10:00Speaker 2: kind of crazy. I'm going through that phase and he
- 10:02Speaker 2: don't understand it, but he trying to. Yeah, he grown
- 10:08Speaker 2: lots now.
- 10:10Speaker 3: It's kind of like the crazy hair phase. That's what
- 10:13Speaker 3: I tell people. I said, that's that's really when you're
- 10:16Speaker 3: gonna test yourself if you really think you got good
- 10:19Speaker 3: self esteem. When you go through that phase where you
- 10:22Speaker 3: like your hair, you know, you can't just calm it
- 10:24Speaker 3: down no more. You know what I'm saying, Like.
- 10:26Speaker 1: Being a kid and going through an awkward stage.
- 10:28Speaker 2: For sure, and you got to just just commit. You
- 10:30Speaker 2: gotta lock in for sure.
- 10:33Speaker 1: So you speak a lot in your previous albums about
- 10:35Speaker 1: going to college. Why did you choose not to do that?
- 10:37Speaker 2: I already had a team, already had music was my
- 10:42Speaker 2: main focus, and I knew one I knew if I
- 10:46Speaker 2: went to college, I wasn't gonna want to do the
- 10:48Speaker 2: work I was just gonna figure out a way to
- 10:51Speaker 2: get around doing the work and have someone else do
- 10:53Speaker 2: it for me too. But I did want to go
- 10:57Speaker 2: for the experience though. I wanted to go for the
- 10:59Speaker 2: experience just to be around of people. I guess all
- 11:02Speaker 2: working towards the same goal. I guess that's always good.
- 11:05Speaker 2: But already had a team. I already had this music
- 11:07Speaker 2: thing going, and I'm like, man, and I had like
- 11:10Speaker 2: a tour opportunity. So I'm like, I'm either go to
- 11:14Speaker 2: college or either go on this tour. I chose the tour.
- 11:17Speaker 2: I chose music. So and that was only because it's
- 11:21Speaker 2: like my team really been waiting on me to get
- 11:23Speaker 2: out of high school too, because we never really we
- 11:27Speaker 2: couldn't really do nothing, like until the weekends. We couldn't
- 11:31Speaker 2: travel on to the weekends, to the studio to the weekend.
- 11:34Speaker 2: So it was like, yeah, we finna do this full
- 11:38Speaker 2: force now that we just graduated. So I just chose music.
- 11:41Speaker 1: How did your parents feel about that choice?
- 11:43Speaker 2: They didn't care. They didn't care. They wanted on. They
- 11:46Speaker 2: just wanted me to do something. You know, you just
- 11:48Speaker 2: want your kids to do something right, have a plan,
- 11:53Speaker 2: just really be put one hundred and ten percent into it,
- 11:56Speaker 2: and they seen that it was They seen that I
- 11:58Speaker 2: was serious, And I guess they always let me rock
- 12:01Speaker 2: because everything I did I was they seeing it. I
- 12:04Speaker 2: had like a look in my eyes. I was just
- 12:06Speaker 2: so serious about it, even like some weird stuff. They
- 12:09Speaker 2: just they just always let me rock.
- 12:12Speaker 4: Now, I know we're talking about all this stuff, but
- 12:14Speaker 4: how was your personal life? Did you have a girlfriend
- 12:16Speaker 4: at the time or when? At any point?
- 12:21Speaker 2: Any point?
- 12:22Speaker 4: Okay, so how do you maintain both?
- 12:26Speaker 2: Just conversations, I guess conversations, communicating, letting each other know what,
- 12:32Speaker 2: we let each other know how we want things. And
- 12:39Speaker 2: I think it's just all a.
- 12:40Speaker 4: Conversation was very mature. Is the money in a relationship?
- 12:43Speaker 2: Now? Man, I'm good right now?
- 12:47Speaker 6: What does that mean?
- 12:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm like, I don't even know.
- 12:49Speaker 4: That you're open to whatever.
- 12:53Speaker 3: No, I think that means he's in a relationship. I
- 12:56Speaker 3: think I think that means he's in a relationship and
- 12:58Speaker 3: they're good right now?
- 13:04Speaker 1: Would this be the young lady who likes Hennessy and Crystals?
- 13:08Speaker 2: Man?
- 13:09Speaker 4: That song you on?
- 13:11Speaker 2: What you talking about? She definitely likes Hanny and Christal.
- 13:18Speaker 2: You like your song? Yeah? I love that song. That
- 13:21Speaker 2: song is actually not about a specific incident though. That
- 13:25Speaker 2: song is really about me saying that I like a
- 13:29Speaker 2: girl who know how to have fun and like also
- 13:32Speaker 2: a little spiritual and like she's smart at the same time.
- 13:37Speaker 2: Hennessy and chrystals. That's what I mean, That's what That's
- 13:39Speaker 2: what I was thinking when I made it. But it
- 13:41Speaker 2: turned into someone you know.
- 13:43Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I get it. So what so is that
- 13:46Speaker 1: what you look for in a woman like you said,
- 13:48Speaker 1: spiritual who has fun too?
- 13:50Speaker 2: For sure? I like a well rounded person man who.
- 13:56Speaker 1: Know how to cook rice.
- 13:59Speaker 2: Okay, now you know what's going on, y'all not even
- 14:03Speaker 2: catching I'm guessing.
- 14:07Speaker 1: Okay, do you have a celebrity cush crush of any gun?
- 14:10Speaker 2: I like Ericabad Okay, I like.
- 14:14Speaker 1: For sure, You're I love like and I'm glad you
- 14:17Speaker 1: brought up Sha because I love the production. I can tell,
- 14:21Speaker 1: like from your first project up into you know, your
- 14:25Speaker 1: latest project, the the growth and production. I love the
- 14:30Speaker 1: saxophones and the horns that that that are played softly,
- 14:34Speaker 1: because at first it was like, you know, it gave
- 14:36Speaker 1: you know, you had the samples going and it was really,
- 14:39Speaker 1: you know, a lot going on. But now it's kind
- 14:41Speaker 1: of more laid back and chill type of thing, like
- 14:44Speaker 1: how it kind of goes with your flow kind of
- 14:46Speaker 1: matches that is there was there a method to that.
- 14:49Speaker 2: Nah, I just think we just grow. I think I
- 14:51Speaker 2: just allowed myself to just I never felt like I
- 14:55Speaker 2: mastered a certain sound or a certain uh thing I
- 14:59Speaker 2: was doing in the studio, so I always was just
- 15:01Speaker 2: open and just trying new things. And yeah, I don't
- 15:05Speaker 2: think it was played out at all. I just love instruments.
- 15:08Speaker 2: I love live music. But at the same time, I
- 15:11Speaker 2: like eight o eights and I just combined it too,
- 15:16Speaker 2: and I just ran into I ran into and like
- 15:19Speaker 2: always just been around just dope musicians, people who know
- 15:23Speaker 2: how to play the guitar, bass, guitar, saxophone, viola, all
- 15:28Speaker 2: type of stuff. We all just sat in the studio
- 15:31Speaker 2: and just kept coming back and now we just just
- 15:35Speaker 2: got a great chemistry.
- 15:36Speaker 1: And is that one of the advantages of having you know,
- 15:40Speaker 1: half of you being you know, well off in a
- 15:45Speaker 1: sense as far as your what your dad provides for you.
- 15:48Speaker 1: Is that a perk of it, like being able to
- 15:51Speaker 1: bring in musicians like that versus somebody without the resources
- 15:55Speaker 1: to kind of you know, make a beat on free
- 15:58Speaker 1: loops or something, versus you getting like true musicians to
- 16:01Speaker 1: create a masterpiece. I mean, I'm not, but I'm just
- 16:05Speaker 1: saying that's all some people got.
- 16:07Speaker 2: Yeah, but that's a lot of people need to Weezy
- 16:11Speaker 2: Fruity Loops. Weezy got a ugly looking you know, we
- 16:17Speaker 2: got an ugly laptop, and he got Fruity Loops and
- 16:20Speaker 2: he been on Fredy Loops for since he started, probably
- 16:25Speaker 2: and Weezy is out of here.
- 16:26Speaker 1: Yeah, for sure. But it's hard to conduct a big,
- 16:30Speaker 1: massive sound.
- 16:32Speaker 2: I know what you're saying, but I just didn't want
- 16:34Speaker 2: people to get the wrongs.
- 16:38Speaker 1: No, shout out to Loops.
- 16:41Speaker 6: Too.
- 16:42Speaker 3: I'm not.
- 16:42Speaker 1: I used to be a reason person, a propeller head,
- 16:46Speaker 1: but I haven't really done it in a while.
- 16:49Speaker 2: But I'm not.
- 16:49Speaker 1: I'm not down.
- 16:51Speaker 6: Well.
- 16:52Speaker 1: The last thing that I really liked was pretty so
- 16:54Speaker 1: honest Studio one, because it allowed me to you know,
- 16:58Speaker 1: record live and your mentor just use their stuff and
- 17:01Speaker 1: like combine the two analog and digital in one.
- 17:04Speaker 2: For sure. Yeah, I see what you're saying, because that
- 17:06Speaker 2: is difficult to do in fl Most people start, uh
- 17:09Speaker 2: start to beat the fl and then add instruments on
- 17:13Speaker 2: some other stuff. Yeah, exactly, But yeah, that is an advantage.
- 17:18Speaker 2: That is definitely an advantage having a relationship and then
- 17:23Speaker 2: just people. Sometimes you get genuine people and then sometimes
- 17:27Speaker 2: you get people with a motive of course, but yeah,
- 17:32Speaker 2: y'all still end up getting something done. But yeah, that's
- 17:38Speaker 2: definitely an advantage for sure.
- 17:40Speaker 6: So you got any dream collapse.
- 17:42Speaker 2: I know this is just a broad answer, but I
- 17:44Speaker 2: really want to genuinely work with people who genuinely want
- 17:48Speaker 2: to work with me. But if I had to say
- 17:51Speaker 2: some names, it would be, uh, I like Tyler, I
- 17:56Speaker 2: like Tyler the creative, Tyler the creator talking about Tyler.
- 18:01Speaker 4: Tyler the water for singer creator too and.
- 18:08Speaker 2: Cold Cold.
- 18:10Speaker 4: I definitely want to hear you in Cold for sure.
- 18:13Speaker 2: It's crazy.
- 18:14Speaker 4: I hear him on Sleep It Off for sure.
- 18:17Speaker 2: Yeah, we get a remix or something he if he
- 18:21Speaker 2: stumbled across it.
- 18:22Speaker 4: Yeah, because I heard he's similar to you, like if
- 18:25Speaker 4: he if he genuinely likes something, he'll hop on it.
- 18:27Speaker 4: He doesn't charge for features.
- 18:30Speaker 2: For sure, exactly.
- 18:31Speaker 3: That's why we got to put this in the energy
- 18:33Speaker 3: because because when y'all do hop on a song together,
- 18:37Speaker 3: you know, magical are you.
- 18:38Speaker 4: And your dad gonna ever? He's on the Libra project,
- 18:43Speaker 4: but I want, I want, I want y'all to drop
- 18:45Speaker 4: off full full project. We get that. I've talked about
- 18:49Speaker 4: it on our stage.
- 18:51Speaker 2: I don't see why not. It just gotta happen.
- 18:53Speaker 4: Mm hm, who got who gotta convince you? And we
- 18:57Speaker 4: actually we had we had your dad and King on
- 19:01Speaker 4: the show when he was promoting the movie and I
- 19:03Speaker 4: said this to him. I was like, Man, the mine's fire.
- 19:06Speaker 4: I'm a big fan of the money man. Oh man too,
- 19:08Speaker 4: me too?
- 19:09Speaker 3: Man?
- 19:09Speaker 4: Now did that kind of hit you left field when
- 19:11Speaker 4: he started doing music like that, the way that he's
- 19:16Speaker 4: recording his music.
- 19:17Speaker 7: Nah, I mean it didn't really hit me left field
- 19:19Speaker 7: because at first it sucked right at the beginning. It
- 19:23Speaker 7: was because he wasn't talking about them. But like you
- 19:25Speaker 7: know what I'm saying, going to the mall and buying stuff.
- 19:27Speaker 7: I said, Man, you think you get beat up because
- 19:29Speaker 7: don't nobody want to hear no rich kid talk about
- 19:32Speaker 7: all the stuff that they can't do. I said, you
- 19:34Speaker 7: gotta find ways to relate, you know, find the things,
- 19:37Speaker 7: Find the things that matter to you that would matter
- 19:40Speaker 7: to other people, regardless of where they live, how much
- 19:43Speaker 7: money they got and this stuff like the common you
- 19:45Speaker 7: gotta you gotta find common ground.
- 19:47Speaker 6: And uh, he accepted the challenge.
- 19:50Speaker 7: And when he came back and you know, he was
- 19:52Speaker 7: kind of you know, talking about being rich on the
- 19:55Speaker 7: weekends and move and going back.
- 19:57Speaker 2: To the part mans live with their mama. You know. See.
- 19:59Speaker 7: I was like that kind of stuff, that's that's what
- 20:02Speaker 7: you need to talk about. And he just kind of you,
- 20:04Speaker 7: I guess, you know, through trial and error and and uh,
- 20:09Speaker 7: taking the lessons that every for every every project that
- 20:14Speaker 7: he dropped, cause he got like eight projects.
- 20:16Speaker 2: And he owned them all. You know what I mean.
- 20:19Speaker 6: Salute to that guy.
- 20:22Speaker 7: He has a catalog, you know what I'm saying, And
- 20:24Speaker 7: so throughout their catalog he just picked up lessons along
- 20:28Speaker 7: the way and he applied to to to the music
- 20:31Speaker 7: he's doing there.
- 20:32Speaker 4: Could we get a joint project with y'all to oh no,
- 20:35Speaker 4: they don't.
- 20:36Speaker 2: Want to do no project with me. He just know
- 20:38Speaker 2: that at he know that we be feeling like he
- 20:42Speaker 2: we in hit shadow, and we be we just be
- 20:45Speaker 2: keeping that in mind. Sometimes he forget about that. He
- 20:47Speaker 2: don't look at it like that because you're the parent,
- 20:50Speaker 2: You're looking like you're looking like these are my kids,
- 20:53Speaker 2: and this is what I'm supposed to do. I'm supposed
- 20:54Speaker 2: to make life easier. We looking at it like pops.
- 20:58Speaker 2: We trying to stand on our own trust, stand.
- 21:00Speaker 6: On business, standing on business, standing on business.
- 21:07Speaker 5: We'll be right back with more of The Baller Alert Show.
- 21:17Speaker 5: You're listening to a special edition of The Baller Alert Show.
- 21:19Speaker 2: What's going down? This is the money? And I know
- 21:22Speaker 2: you already watching, but I want to say right now,
- 21:24Speaker 2: like comment and subscribe on The Baller Alert.
- 21:27Speaker 4: Show, can we talk about when the Ink drys?
- 21:30Speaker 2: Yeah? For sure, EP, it's a EP. Four songs?
- 21:34Speaker 4: Why why only four songs?
- 21:36Speaker 2: Only four songs? Because that's a good question, because they
- 21:39Speaker 2: were trying to make it five and I was so.
- 21:41Speaker 4: Who's they your team?
- 21:42Speaker 2: Team?
- 21:43Speaker 4: Because you're independent?
- 21:44Speaker 2: Yeah, for sure, they was trying to make it five,
- 21:46Speaker 2: and I was telling everybody, no, it gotta be for
- 21:49Speaker 2: but for real?
- 21:50Speaker 4: Why for?
- 21:51Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 21:52Speaker 6: I just felt like.
- 21:54Speaker 4: I felt like naturally funny, by the way.
- 21:56Speaker 2: Thank you. I felt like five was.
- 22:00Speaker 1: He's selling.
- 22:02Speaker 2: I feel like I five wasn't a good number, but
- 22:06Speaker 2: it really was, no thought for real? Just four songs,
- 22:08Speaker 2: four songs that I teased on the on the internet
- 22:11Speaker 2: with some uh visuals to it, and people said they
- 22:14Speaker 2: wanted it, so just before the holidays get crazy, I
- 22:18Speaker 2: just wanted to put it out now.
- 22:21Speaker 1: You know, let's speak on being independent. What are some
- 22:24Speaker 1: of the advantages that you've seen so far of being independent?
- 22:27Speaker 2: Being independent? Advantages you could do what you want. Disadvantages
- 22:32Speaker 2: is that you can do what you want, same thing.
- 22:35Speaker 6: That's a good answer.
- 22:36Speaker 2: I think it's a known it's a known play that
- 22:39Speaker 2: every that every artist, uh that every artist sees so
- 22:44Speaker 2: they they m hmm, every artist that that take enough
- 22:48Speaker 2: time to sit back and that's comfortable enough to sit
- 22:50Speaker 2: back and scope the scene. They see that. Before I
- 22:55Speaker 2: get a major label, before I before I sign a deal,
- 22:58Speaker 2: I want to have leverage so I could make a
- 23:00Speaker 2: good deal or be able to negotiate. If I don't
- 23:03Speaker 2: have leverage, I won't be able to negotiate a good deal.
- 23:07Speaker 2: So I don't think people just sit and say I
- 23:10Speaker 2: want to be independent and that's it. I don't want
- 23:13Speaker 2: to see no deals.
- 23:14Speaker 4: No.
- 23:14Speaker 2: I think people just want to have the leverage. That's
- 23:17Speaker 2: how I feel. I want to be able to show
- 23:20Speaker 2: something to say this is why I want this because
- 23:24Speaker 2: this is it. You see this right here?
- 23:26Speaker 1: Okay, so you're building leverage.
- 23:28Speaker 2: Right now for sure.
- 23:29Speaker 4: Great answer.
- 23:30Speaker 6: Do you have any labels that reached out to you
- 23:32Speaker 6: in the past.
- 23:33Speaker 2: Reached out like said some things, but like presented paperwork
- 23:38Speaker 2: that's different. So a lot of labels and said some stuff.
- 23:43Speaker 2: But like I said, man, I'm just just doing my
- 23:48Speaker 2: own thing, building leverage, just having fun with it for real,
- 23:53Speaker 2: figuring it out as I go.
- 23:54Speaker 3: Now, who talked to you about the art of leveraging?
- 23:57Speaker 3: Because I feel like a lot of artists don't talk about,
- 24:00Speaker 3: you know, going in these labeled you know, meetings and
- 24:03Speaker 3: having leverage.
- 24:05Speaker 2: Experience experience and of course my father, but just being
- 24:10Speaker 2: in meetings and hearing how conversations go that I would
- 24:14Speaker 2: say that taught me a lot. But I think more people.
- 24:19Speaker 2: I think more people got an outdated mind mindset, like
- 24:23Speaker 2: thinking like if I get a label deal like I
- 24:26Speaker 2: made it.
- 24:27Speaker 4: Nah, it's not it really the beginning that Really, I
- 24:31Speaker 4: do have a question for you. How is you and
- 24:33Speaker 4: your father's relationship wonderful?
- 24:37Speaker 2: That's like mine, that's my father, but that's like my
- 24:39Speaker 2: best friend.
- 24:40Speaker 6: For real, that's Doe.
- 24:42Speaker 4: Now, the music only came from him, because I see
- 24:45Speaker 4: you're you're very well around the artist. To me, did
- 24:47Speaker 4: you mom do any music? Nah?
- 24:50Speaker 5: Change it.
- 24:52Speaker 2: She was joking talking about like she's gonna do a
- 24:55Speaker 2: verse or something.
- 24:55Speaker 4: But so no music bones in her body.
- 24:59Speaker 2: Nope.
- 25:00Speaker 4: So it's just it's just from pops.
- 25:02Speaker 2: From pops, uh, my sisters, my cousins. No shot of God,
- 25:09Speaker 2: oh yeah, shot of God because that's the home. Before
- 25:12Speaker 2: before that he was in the Rich Kids of course. Yeah,
- 25:16Speaker 2: the Orange Girl, my whole family really on that side.
- 25:20Speaker 2: It's just my mom didn't do no music at all.
- 25:23Speaker 4: So besides, I don't do music at all.
- 25:24Speaker 2: Before he didn't do music.
- 25:25Speaker 4: Now he's doing it now.
- 25:27Speaker 2: He just started doing music maybe like four years ago.
- 25:30Speaker 1: He got his own flow, like, he got his own.
- 25:32Speaker 6: Yeah, he definitely, he definitely has about.
- 25:35Speaker 1: The sixties or so.
- 25:36Speaker 2: Yeah, he's definitely out there.
- 25:38Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 25:39Speaker 1: But the only two that don't is Major in Danger,
- 25:42Speaker 1: right Major, and they don't do music.
- 25:45Speaker 2: Yeah, because as Air is killing it right now.
- 25:48Speaker 6: She could sing, Yeah, she could sing sing for sure.
- 25:52Speaker 4: Now. All right, so you and King got a song
- 25:58Speaker 4: like like father father like son? Yeah, what's up?
- 26:03Speaker 2: What is it about?
- 26:04Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 26:04Speaker 4: Now Kings sounded like Gunner a little bit.
- 26:07Speaker 2: I never heard no one say.
- 26:11Speaker 6: He definitely has a similarly, you never thought about that.
- 26:17Speaker 6: I never seen give he give me a little too.
- 26:18Speaker 4: He gave me a little tune in that and that
- 26:20Speaker 4: and did y'all record that together?
- 26:22Speaker 2: Yeah? Not together, but the same night. So I'm at
- 26:27Speaker 2: the studio. I think I might have been playing cards downstairs,
- 26:29Speaker 2: and then he came down said I got one for you,
- 26:32Speaker 2: but I had to finish my card game was getting heated.
- 26:37Speaker 2: But by the time I went up there, I think
- 26:39Speaker 2: he left. So then I heard what he what he made,
- 26:42Speaker 2: and then I just did mind right there.
- 26:44Speaker 4: Now, I don't know if you saw King went and
- 26:46Speaker 4: he went viral on that show, because that's when h K.
- 26:49Speaker 4: Dubb And and Pops's I was giving him a compliment
- 26:53Speaker 4: about his teeth. I said, King, thank you, thank you. Yeah, yeah, yeah, man,
- 27:01Speaker 4: I appreciate.
- 27:04Speaker 6: What the tooth for the matter is. J Ain't got
- 27:11Speaker 6: over toothbox. She was in there movie with queens and man.
- 27:19Speaker 1: Now y'all going to far.
- 27:25Speaker 6: Old old t D Boyd to change.
- 27:30Speaker 4: That's all right?
- 27:31Speaker 7: Now?
- 27:33Speaker 6: How is you and King's relationship same?
- 27:36Speaker 2: Same man? That's smile a little big bro. Okay, stand
- 27:41Speaker 2: on business always.
- 27:43Speaker 4: When when things happened, do you do you call him?
- 27:47Speaker 4: Because you're big bro? Do you call him and calm
- 27:50Speaker 4: him down?
- 27:51Speaker 2: I think he I think he called you. Something happens.
- 27:54Speaker 2: I think he sits down and expects me to call
- 27:56Speaker 2: you already know I'm Finn car.
- 27:58Speaker 1: So we're just say to him this last time after
- 28:01Speaker 1: the game, just.
- 28:02Speaker 2: Relax, I said, this too shall pass, you know, so
- 28:06Speaker 2: just just calm down.
- 28:07Speaker 1: That's a real TI I answer.
- 28:09Speaker 6: Shall pass now? Was that strategic to drop the song
- 28:13Speaker 6: after the incident.
- 28:15Speaker 2: I had nothing to do with that, right there. I
- 28:18Speaker 2: had nothing to do with that. But I'm just glad
- 28:21Speaker 2: it's it's it's out m because you know, a lot
- 28:26Speaker 2: of music stayed in the hard drive and just on
- 28:30Speaker 2: the flash drive or on a computer. So to see
- 28:33Speaker 2: a moment like this actually get released, I love it.
- 28:37Speaker 1: How did your dad feel about the song?
- 28:39Speaker 2: He loved the song? He loved the song for sure.
- 28:42Speaker 4: Does he tell you when he doesn't like a song?
- 28:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I haven't heard that lately, but yeah, for sure.
- 28:48Speaker 2: When I like first started making music, it'd be like, yeah,
- 28:52Speaker 2: just just keep going.
- 28:56Speaker 6: He hit you with the joke keep going for Shell,
- 28:58Speaker 6: keep going man.
- 29:00Speaker 3: Now, y'all was really expressive in this in this uh,
- 29:02Speaker 3: the song that y'all just dropped. Do you ever feel
- 29:05Speaker 3: pressure about, you know, feeling like you have to portray
- 29:09Speaker 3: yourself a certain way because of who your dad is.
- 29:12Speaker 2: Pressure. I don't think it's more so pressure right now.
- 29:18Speaker 2: Maybe it could have been at the beginning. But when
- 29:21Speaker 2: you just sit back and really understand what's going on,
- 29:25Speaker 2: understand the position that you're in, and accept the position
- 29:28Speaker 2: that you're in, it's all easy for because you see
- 29:32Speaker 2: the bigger picture. You see it from a different perspective.
- 29:36Speaker 6: Not a way that y'all that y'all grew up.
- 29:39Speaker 3: Do y'all feel like y'all grew up like from the
- 29:41Speaker 3: hood based on you know, the living situations.
- 29:45Speaker 2: That when we say, y'all, you want me to speak
- 29:47Speaker 2: for everyone, No.
- 29:48Speaker 6: You don't have to speak for everyone. I was just
- 29:49Speaker 6: listening to the song and.
- 29:52Speaker 3: It sounds like, you know, just just from hearing the
- 29:54Speaker 3: song that you know, King feels a certain type of
- 29:57Speaker 3: way of like, Okay, y'all think of us pertaining to
- 30:02Speaker 3: you and him a certain way because of the TV show.
- 30:06Speaker 6: But this was what really what's going on that you
- 30:09Speaker 6: know that the public doesn't know.
- 30:10Speaker 2: I think King. I think everything King is trying to
- 30:14Speaker 2: say is just coming off. He's using the wrong words.
- 30:18Speaker 2: I feel like, and I told him this. I feel
- 30:21Speaker 2: like what he's trying to say is what was on
- 30:26Speaker 2: TV is not exactly what actually happened. And I think
- 30:30Speaker 2: he's only trying to say that because people try to
- 30:33Speaker 2: treat him differently because they think that. I don't think
- 30:37Speaker 2: he's just out here just saying it out the blue
- 30:41Speaker 2: because of something. I think like we are living our
- 30:45Speaker 2: own lives. He got his own thing going on. I
- 30:47Speaker 2: don't know what be going on when he go outside
- 30:50Speaker 2: or he was in school. We went to different schools.
- 30:53Speaker 2: He went to school by himself actually, so yeah, that
- 30:57Speaker 2: was another thing. So I just think he's using the
- 31:02Speaker 2: wrong choice of words. I think he's just trying to
- 31:05Speaker 2: say for the he went to school from his grandma house.
- 31:10Speaker 2: He stayed at his grandma house.
- 31:12Speaker 1: Like just to have a more realistic life versus just
- 31:15Speaker 1: being some rich kid. I wanted to really experience life
- 31:19Speaker 1: like everybody else, right.
- 31:20Speaker 2: I think just us as in the black community, I
- 31:24Speaker 2: feel like we just treat we treat kids differently when
- 31:30Speaker 2: their parents are success for so I think right now
- 31:34Speaker 2: we're just witnessing how a family deals with that, how
- 31:38Speaker 2: a family deals with that backlash. You know, growing up
- 31:42Speaker 2: in school, we all went to regular schools, public schools.
- 31:45Speaker 5: We'll be right by, stay tuned with more of The
- 31:48Speaker 5: Baller Alert Show. You're listening to a special edition of
- 31:58Speaker 5: The Baller Alert Show going down.
- 32:00Speaker 2: This is the Money, And I know you already watching,
- 32:03Speaker 2: but I want to say right now, like comment and
- 32:05Speaker 2: subscribe on the Baller Alert Show.
- 32:07Speaker 3: I feel like a lot of people don't understand the
- 32:10Speaker 3: fact that, you know, what King was saying is like,
- 32:13Speaker 3: hey man, we didn't. That TV show is portraying us
- 32:16Speaker 3: to make it look like we all like one big,
- 32:18Speaker 3: happy family and we all live in this big house together.
- 32:20Speaker 3: I mean, yeah, I'm saying like in a sense of like,
- 32:23Speaker 3: you know, the public, like everybody thinks that watched y'all
- 32:26Speaker 3: grow up on TVs that y'all all just lived in
- 32:28Speaker 3: this one big house together.
- 32:31Speaker 2: I did think that That's how I thought, definitely saying, nah,
- 32:34Speaker 2: that's not the case that I think that is what
- 32:36Speaker 2: he's trying to come across. Definitely trying to get that across,
- 32:39Speaker 2: but it's I don't think people are gonna understand it
- 32:44Speaker 2: for real, Like.
- 32:46Speaker 4: Yeah, because of the way that it was edited and shot.
- 32:48Speaker 4: I thought you stayed there. I thought everyone.
- 32:50Speaker 6: I thought everybody stayed there too.
- 32:51Speaker 4: I'm not gonna lie there, but I understand though I
- 32:54Speaker 4: understand now looking back, I was like, Okay, but you know,
- 32:57Speaker 4: as you're watching, this is a damn you.
- 33:00Speaker 6: You was like you were a kid.
- 33:01Speaker 4: I remember, and I feel like I've known you forever,
- 33:05Speaker 4: but I've only met you like three times. You know
- 33:07Speaker 4: what I'm saying, like for real, for real? So yeah,
- 33:09Speaker 4: I was just saying, yeah, it's just the way that
- 33:10Speaker 4: they produced it. But it definitely looked like y'all all
- 33:12Speaker 4: stated in the house and everyone was all the way happy,
- 33:15Speaker 4: which I think in all families that's never the case.
- 33:18Speaker 1: Do you run into that problem the King has when
- 33:22Speaker 1: people think that you come from this big life.
- 33:24Speaker 2: I let people rock out, unless I feel like it's
- 33:28Speaker 2: not healthy for them to think that. Help man, you
- 33:32Speaker 2: know what I mean. But I let people rock out.
- 33:34Speaker 2: It's like sometimes they'll be like, yeah, I've seen your mom,
- 33:37Speaker 2: but I know they not talking about my real mom,
- 33:40Speaker 2: talking about tiny I don't care to correct you. I
- 33:44Speaker 2: know what you meant. You know what I'm saying, So
- 33:46Speaker 2: I understand they talk about. Yeah, Man, if I see
- 33:50Speaker 2: you you stay in the house, I know what you're
- 33:52Speaker 2: talking about.
- 33:55Speaker 6: It's so pretty you just pretty much let people be dumb.
- 34:00Speaker 2: People go with people go with what they're comfortable going with. Real,

- 35:12Speaker 1: lead you on to you and try to take advantage
- 35:14Speaker 1: of you and and your your one of your projects,
- 35:18Speaker 1: uh Amigdalve from Still Got Still Got Love? Yeah, when

- 35:54Speaker 2: Like?
- 35:54Speaker 1: What happened with that?
- 35:55Speaker 2: That's a good question. I ain't really ever had the
- 35:57Speaker 2: conversation with myself, so just be here just freestyling. What
- 36:03Speaker 2: did I take from it? Just to just to roll
- 36:07Speaker 2: with the punches a little bit better? I think roll
- 36:12Speaker 2: with the punches were still cool, but it's just we
- 36:15Speaker 2: not where we was for sure, just rolling with the punches,
- 36:21Speaker 2: not not getting not getting your hopes up about a
- 36:25Speaker 2: lot of stuff and about people.

- 37:25Speaker 2: Do it over.
- 37:25Speaker 1: I don't want to do it, you know.
- 37:27Speaker 2: Nah. I think we're good at letting each other do
- 37:30Speaker 2: our own thing, and then we take turns doing our
- 37:33Speaker 2: own thing, come back in and add stuff, take away stuff.
- 37:37Speaker 4: You know.
- 37:38Speaker 2: I think we're good at that.
- 37:39Speaker 6: I don't.
- 37:39Speaker 2: I don't know how we get we're so good at that,
- 37:41Speaker 2: But we let each other rock out. We let each
- 37:43Speaker 2: other rock out, and we come together and oversee it
- 37:47Speaker 2: from a bigger perspective and we you know, we put
