- 0:00Did you have fun in the sun guys?
- 0:18Fun in the sun?
- 0:19When's this?
- 0:20Usually hate the sun to be fair don't you?
- 0:22It's been all weekend doesn't it the sun?
- 0:24No I don't the sun?
- 0:25No.
- 0:26When you were a player you were?
- 0:27Oh no I hated it when I was a player yeah.
- 0:28I didn't enjoy playing in the sun but I want to a different stage in my career now and
- 0:33I love the sun.
- 0:34Every time I'm with them we do love the sun.
- 0:38No but we are not golf chips we are golf asking in the sun, glass of wine in the sun
- 0:43would it be it?
- 0:44Any golf this weekend?
- 0:45No it's not you're not a gym if you're not we didn't mention it why did you bring
- 0:50a drink up?
- 0:51Because the sun's out?
- 0:52Yeah but it doesn't matter.
- 0:53It's fair the sun's out.
- 0:54When we're together they're wrong about it and we're playing golf.
- 0:56All is interested is good food and golf when I'm just in drinking and stuff like that.
- 1:01He's definitely interested in good food I'll tell you that.
- 1:03You didn't get this big eating salad mate let me tell you.
- 1:06Definitely interested in good food.
- 1:07So yeah.
- 1:08So what did you get up to then?
- 1:09This weekend it was two of my kids' birthdays oh nice where he wore an 18 so big weekend
- 1:16in our house so obviously I had a warm up at it played golf.
- 1:22Let me do all the prep for it quite often we have it in our house so when that's the
- 1:29case I just shout out me a lot I need to help round the house with garden or the mop
- 1:33or whatever it might be I need to help with because we had it somewhere else actually just
- 1:37well done.
- 1:38Yeah it was good actually this time I was nice and relaxed just enjoyed the build up
- 1:44enjoyed the kids' actual birthdays big birthdays now like I hadn't been able to be an
- 1:49old.
- 1:50I haven't seen anyone yet of course Jesus feel old I'll put that kind of money in their
- 1:54exact same boat as him and I would have been there enjoying myself with them and him but
- 1:58here unfortunately I had to go to the Pyramids of Giza didn't I so I had to go to the
- 2:02seventh one of the seventh one of the world I'm wearing a box of mine so that was fantastic
- 2:06yeah.
- 2:07What did you make of that?
- 2:11He's not on hard to say.
- 2:14Go to his oven podcast to find out.
- 2:18Did you like the Pyramids?
- 2:22One thing I can't say is it is on my own when did you see the Pyramids?
- 2:26Yes I left for Egypt at 12 o'clock midday on the train from Bunkorn to Houston at midday
- 2:35I went from Houston to Tottenham Court Road.
- 2:38I went from Tottenham Court Road to Paddington on the Heathrow Express.
- 2:41I arrived after leaving the house at half 11 and getting to Runkorn on the 12 o'clock
- 2:46train.
- 2:47I was in.
- 2:48I was in.
- 2:49I was in.
- 2:50I was in.
- 2:51I was now in Heathrow.
- 2:52I was now in Heathrow.
- 2:53I was now in Heathrow.
- 2:54Getting all light in here.
- 2:55And basically I left me out to midday I got to Cairo, I got to me hotel and got a half
- 3:04four in the morning.
- 3:05I got up for work, I had a production meeting, I got back to the airport after work in the
- 3:10event, a half four in the morning because it was like a half seven.
- 3:15In them twenty four hours I went to the Pyramids, I went to the museum, I don't meet job
- 3:21and then I came home and then I had done the four hour stints all the way back home.
- 3:25So I was back home to meet door and back to the Pyramids in a space of forty eight hours
- 3:30worked, not stop and that was the job was a good one.
- 3:34So you got paid to be there, you got to visit the, we went to a museum and you got to
- 3:40see the better by themselves.
- 3:41I don't know what, yeah, I don't do it for the morning, I do it for the love.
- 3:48Sounds like a good trip and the as impressive as the, I'm never been to Egypt, these impressive
- 3:53people say.
- 3:55They are, it is impressive considering our long ago, do you just think they were big
- 3:59triangles?
- 4:00No, but they, I'm not going to lie, I was slightly a bit, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, it sounds
- 4:07a little bit, I expected even bigger, do you know the way they made out to be, yeah,
- 4:11I expected them to be bigger, I'm not going to lie.
- 4:13And then when you get to the, the, the, what's a call to the long thing that looks like
- 4:17a dog, the Sphinx, the Sphinx, I was a bit disappointed in that, but it's been, it's
- 4:22supposed to be smaller, quite smaller, it's, it's corroded over the years, it's a bit
- 4:26affected, but it's history, isn't it?
- 4:28And as we don't, one of the seven under the world, but I'm not going to lie, I was a little
- 4:32bit, I was just expecting this huge, huge, huge period, and, and this, it's big, it, it's
- 4:38not, it's not, but I was just, it's just, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's
- 4:43super cool, just always one bigger, always one bigger and better, you know, I'm not quite
- 4:46on that level of a, I'm not even going to say it, just keep your mouth shut, stop it, stop
- 4:52it, it's going to get me enjoyable, it's going to get me enjoyable, it's going to get
- 4:55me enjoyable, it's going to get me enjoyable, it's going to get me enjoyable, it's going
- 4:57to get me enjoyable, it's going to get me enjoyable, it's going to get me enjoyable, it's
- 4:58going to get me enjoyable, it's going to get me enjoyable, it's going to get me enjoyable,
- 4:59it's going to get me enjoyable, it's going to get me enjoyable, it's going to get me
- 5:00enjoyable, it's going to get me enjoyable, it's going to get me enjoyable, it's going
- 5:01to get me enjoyable, it's going to get me enjoyable, it's going to get me enjoyable, it's
- 5:02going to get me enjoyable, it's going to get me enjoyable, it's going to get me
- 5:02enjoyable, it's going to get me enjoyable, it's going to get me enjoyable, it's going
- 5:03to get me enjoyable, it's going to get me enjoyable, it's going to get me enjoyable, it's
- 5:06going to get me enjoyable, it's going to get me enjoyable, it's going to get me enjoyable,
- 5:08it's going to get me enjoyable, it's going to get me enjoyable, it's going to get me
- 5:09enjoyable, it's going to get me enjoyable, it's going to get me enjoyable, it's going to get
- 5:10me enjoyable, it's going to get me enjoyable, it's going to get me enjoyable, it's going to
- 5:11get me enjoyable, it's going to get me enjoyable, it's going to get me enjoyable, it's going
- 5:12to get me enjoyable, it's going to get me enjoyable, it's going to get me enjoyable, it's
- 5:13going to get me enjoyable, it's going to get me enjoyable, it's going to get me enjoyable
- 5:14, it's going to get me enjoyable, it's going to get me enjoyable, it's going to get me
- 5:16enjoyable, it's going to get me enjoyable, it's going to get me enjoyable, it's going to get
- 5:23me enjoyable, it's going to get me enjoyable, it's going to get me enjoyable, it's going to get
- 5:28me enjoyable, it's going to get me enjoyable, it's going to get me enjoyable, it's going to
- 5:35get me enjoyable, it's going to get me enjoyable, it's going to get me enjoyable, it's going
- 5:42to get me enjoyable, it's going to get me enjoyable, it's going to get me enjoyable, it's going

- 7:13going to get me enjoyable, it's going to get me enjoyable, it's going to get me enjoyable, it's
- 7:20going to get me enjoyable, it's going to get me enjoyable, it's going to get me enjoyable, it's
- 7:27going to get me enjoyable, it's going to get me enjoyable, it's going to get me enjoyable, it's
- 7:34going to get me enjoyable, it's going to get me enjoyable, it's going to get me enjoyable I
- 7:41I don't want to say they've got the stiff left flops on the door on say I could I ate it when people say that but I just felt we didn't take our chances again
- 7:50And as you thought there was no I was no emplodduck
- 7:55There's no way to create any chances did we?
- 7:57Maybe it was a 98 minute
- 7:58We wanted to hear nobody's worst games
- 8:01Holding the ball up was none of this
- 8:03Yeah it just didn't happen
- 8:06Yeah and we were and you know what you put it
- 8:10You say a strong team out because he didn't make many changes
- 8:13I thought if he I thought to be rotated their boys and made loads of changes and gave other people a chance
- 8:20I thought he might get criticized by the league
- 8:23Just like my get criticized by the I know it's his prerogative to do it
- 8:26But I thought he'd get criticized for not taking that game serious because it was West Am versus Tottenham
- 8:32Whoever goes you know whoever loses or doesn't get the result goes down
- 8:36So I expected him to put a relatively strong team out he did but few of them were just
- 8:42Yeah a few of them just played like it was the last like there was last game to see
- 8:45And you know also as well with the difference between this time and last year
- 8:49Quite a few of them not enough of them but quite a few of them have got the World Cup on the horizon
- 8:54So we're in that moment where they don't want to pick up in a stupid injury and a nonsense injury
- 9:02Yeah, mentally whether you mean to or not in that moment you do start
- 9:06Shaking out of challenges and not quite running that extra five years
- 9:10You know what a massive miss has been the last few games that Jessica got
- 9:14He just sat the standard in the middle and he's got he's all over the pitch
- 9:19Even as his age not he's still everywhere and I just feel
- 9:23If he's not around next season how are we going to cope without him?
- 9:27Because he gets everywhere else he's done legs and he allows can and just be able to do the job that he wants to do with attacking
- 9:34He allows him to get on the ball more but look to go forward instead of look to defend
- 9:38He just allows everyone he frees people up and I worry without him
- 9:42Yeah but he is getting old and I've actually been frustrated with him once or twice this season
- 9:48I think he gives the ball away a little bit or bit more than this
- 9:52We need we need a little bit a little bit more but yeah this has been opportunity
- 9:57I don't meddle in roles although he's played on the right I thought he's coming in and don't know okay
- 10:01He's got energy and legs I don't think he's ready for a central midfield player
- 10:04I don't think he's ready to play centrally
- 10:07So yeah just a common experience being a will mail and roll because as you've been a player would
- 10:14I would say give him a goal because he has legs and he's everywhere
- 10:17But does that come with experience he needs a couple more years out on the right way that's less important
- 10:21Does that make sense?
- 10:23Not necessarily less important although I know what you mean by if you make mistakes
- 10:27You can make mistakes out on the wide areas
- 10:30I played in the wide areas until I heard me place in the middle
- 10:35I just think at the minute he's not played every single week as he made
- 10:40He's not like he's played 38 games he's played probably
- 10:4428 of the last 12 games maybe
- 10:47So he's not had all season and I still think that although he's justifiably forced his way into the first team over his performances
- 10:55I don't think he's playing quick enough to play in the middle of the pitch
- 10:59I think he still needs a little bit more time
- 11:01I think it all happens quicker and faster in the middle of the pitch
- 11:05Then it does out wide you get a little bit more thinking time a little bit more time
- 11:09To take a touch and have a look around whereas you know already need to have pictures in your mind when you're playing in the middle of the pitch
- 11:15I'm not seeing that from him yet
- 11:17But that's not to say you can't because I've actually been impressed with his how he's developed this year male and roll
- 11:23I think that in the modern world I think we're committed now to 20 million
- 11:28I think in the modern world that's not a crazy price for someone
- 11:32That you think could still develop I still think he's got
- 11:36I think he's got more potential than we've shown
- 11:38I think he could be a really good player
- 11:40David might see something because he wouldn't play him if he didn't see something muddy
- 11:44I think you have to justify your spot to David boys
- 11:50I think you have to show you can do
- 11:52I've talked about this before
- 11:54You have to show you can do certain roles within the team that won't let the team down
- 11:59The team comes before the individual all the time
- 12:02And if you can do the team stuff and then do your individual stuff on top of that
- 12:07You'll start to get a game in the team
- 12:10A male and roll started to do all the team stuff
- 12:12And I just started to see it a little bit especially in the city game
- 12:17A bit of that where he's really showing his pace
- 12:19And he's getting at people and he's showing his desire and his quit
- 12:22It's brilliant, it's brilliant, it's brilliant, it's brilliant, it's brilliant
- 12:24I do think he's one of the players that has come out this last probably eight games
- 12:29Where we've actually had a huge dip at a really bad time
- 12:33We got ourselves into a great spot after that Chelsea game
- 12:36Where everybody started looking for their passport
- 12:38Everybody was in the draw checking dates on it
- 12:40Wondering if it's going to be okay
- 12:42And I think we probably only needed eight points in the last seven games
- 12:47Maybe you think they've slipped so bad
- 12:49I probably have a number of things
- 12:52Expectation might be the first
- 12:54We snuck into that position without any real pressure on the team
- 12:58I don't want to be with it, it was there for the team
- 13:00You just needed to get all that
- 13:02And that's to be honest, there were games where we were in
- 13:04The city games are massive kick
- 13:06But you're expected because before you got real tight at that point for the whole day
- 13:10But then it's the preferred games
- 13:12And stuff like you're just like, where's it gone wrong?
- 13:15Again, expectations is huge
- 13:18Suddenly you've got something to protect rather than playing freely
- 13:21And something to go at
- 13:23A lot of the fans are saying noise
- 13:27Yeah, a lot of the fans will say noise
- 13:29How though when he's got when he hasn't really
- 13:32Do you class him as ease
- 13:35Are you looking at going, are you spent a lot of money here?
- 13:37Because I actually don't
- 13:39No, we've got the squad that we had
- 13:42And I hope we strengthen over the summer
- 13:45Don't know how much we generally have
- 13:47In the transfer windows
- 13:49And I'd not in a rush for David Moise to move on
- 13:52Or any stretch because again, I still think we're in a moment of the club's transition
- 13:58Where we still need that stability
- 14:00We need this, the calm head
- 14:01And we need the experience
- 14:03We need somebody who understands the football club
- 14:05And yes, results might have not gone well at the end of the season to get us over the line
- 14:11But at the start of the season, I think we'd have all took 13th
- 14:13We've been battling allegations for so long
- 14:15That we'd have took 13th and called that a nice step and moved forward
- 14:18But because of the hope that we gave ourselves
- 14:21Or he gave us to suddenly go and look for our passports
- 14:24Now we're all disappointed
- 14:25And if we'd have ended up
- 14:27Let's just say 17th with eight games to go
- 14:32And we'd won all eight
- 14:33And very just about missed out on Europe
- 14:35We'd now be going, oh, what a great run
- 14:37That was because the hope came at the end
- 14:39Like we were last season so that's frustrating
- 14:42There will be things that David Moise looks back on and goes
- 14:45I wish I had done that differently or I could have changed that
- 14:48Or in hindsight I would have done that
- 14:51The Sunderland game feels like a moment
- 14:54But even that, I go back to players again
- 14:58The players couldn't pass from A to B in that game
- 15:01It was incredible to anyone who was in the stadium
- 15:03We'll say it was crazy to all of it
- 15:06Oh, good pass to both
- 15:07Yeah, they were awful at that
- 15:08They were awful against Spares for different reasons
- 15:11The real sort of dip came in the derby
- 15:14Not getting over the line against City
- 15:17Those were two big games that really hurt us
- 15:20Because we've always been a team that
- 15:23Don't always necessarily win the other games
- 15:26But we've been competitive in your Liverpool games
- 15:29Your City games and all that
- 15:30And quite often one winner of them two games propels us forward
- 15:34Gives us real momentum
- 15:36And belief to go on and win the games
- 15:38And haven't lost, it felt like we lost both
- 15:40But haven't lost the derby and drawing against City
- 15:42In the manners that we did last minute goals
- 15:45I think it's just not the stuffing out of us both
- 15:47So, Moeys will get the stick
- 15:50And yeah, I could completely understand that
- 15:54I just don't think it's a tie to move on from him
- 15:58No, that's chance I just feel
- 16:00He got us
- 16:01There's a lot of noise around it though, you know
- 16:03We got a lot of comments off the back of our pod last week
- 16:06It's just not right though because listen
- 16:08If you decide to start, if you decide to start this season
- 16:11Everton are going to be fighting for it
- 16:13They're going to be in your European intention everyone will go wow
- 16:16As well, we've was in your European intention with four games to go
- 16:19We were fighting for the European price and we were well on target as well
- 16:22At the end of that City game, it's in Everton's hands to go and get your
- 16:25And I'm sorry to tell you
- 16:28A season shouldn't be defined and I'm managing it over the four games
- 16:32Because the other 34, there's been times where they've been brilliant
- 16:36And there's been times where they've been incredible
- 16:38But is it acceptable to slip up that much in the last game?
- 16:40I get it, it is their last five, six games
- 16:43I get it but you can't
- 16:45I'll set an early slipped up
- 16:47And he's got an incredible squad and depths
- 16:49And they've been building towards that
- 16:51And he's been building towards after six and a half years
- 16:54So for only having 18 months and having had a little bit of influx of players
- 17:00But not really having the depth
- 17:02It's tough to call it a slip
- 17:04But when it wasn't bit of a slip
- 17:06It's tough to be overly critical
- 17:08Over at the moment
- 17:10And for those people, I've asked you questions of those people that talk about
- 17:14It's time to get someone new
- 17:16So who do you think, who is it that's in your mind?
- 17:19Because you're not going to get a pep
- 17:21You're not going to get someone of that ilk
- 17:24I mean, Erie, all is the only one that I go for
- 17:27He'd be
- 17:29He could be
- 17:31And I'm looking at him and going, he could be
- 17:33That's how he was available
- 17:35One of my mates said to me, Erie, you've got to take Erie, all the nicer to him
- 17:38Well, have you got to take Erie, all the
- 17:39I said, Erie, all of one of your European trophies
- 17:41When Moeys was at Westam
- 17:43And let's be just minutely honest, Westam are a smaller club than Evan
- 17:46They always have been, they always will be
- 17:48I'm sorry to say, but they are
- 17:50Now, what he'd done at Westam, he constantly got them into
- 17:55I think he'd been in top eight when he was there
- 17:57In a top eight position
- 17:58He got to one European final, am I correct?
- 18:00And they lost
- 18:01Am I right thinking that?
- 18:02Moeys?
- 18:03Yeah, did they get to the European final?
- 18:05They won the conference
- 18:07But didn't he get to the European final of the year before?
- 18:09He won one, he lost one, didn't he?
- 18:11I'm sure he got to
- 18:12I can't honestly remember
- 18:13They did well in the European league, one of the years they didn't win it
- 18:16No, he didn't win it, but I'm sure he got to the final
- 18:19Or he might've got to, whatever he's got really far
- 18:21So he'd been in two European competitions
- 18:23And he's got really deep in want and he's won the other one
- 18:25Now, I'm sorry to tell you mate
- 18:27What said he all the time?
- 18:29He's done it, what he managed, what's he done?
- 18:31Well, no, he just hoorted the minute
- 18:34I just braked the whole world
- 18:36He has no better than he all the time
- 18:38He has no more to show
- 18:39I'm just asking these Evitanians and saying
- 18:41Maybe he did not know in the wisdom
- 18:43I'm sick of them
- 18:44I'm sick of them
- 18:45He's been too unavailable at some point
- 18:46And they were interested in saying
- 18:49Actually, but even not now
- 18:50Just because of the stability we need
- 18:52He's done
- 18:53I'll keep it in the roller and glasner.
- 18:55Okay, well, you've exceeded expectations at a smaller club.
- 19:00You come to Evan and regardless of what it looks like.
- 19:02It's always a secret.
- 19:03It's coming to Evan.
- 19:04It's a massive deal.
- 19:05It's a massive club and it doesn't matter what everyone wants
- 19:09to laugh at us or think about us and start mentioning
- 19:11the last time he's won a show.
- 19:12What a evidence.
- 19:13There's still a huge football club and David Moise
- 19:16has managed big football clubs and he's had success now.
- 19:20He's proven he can win a trophy by doing what he's done
- 19:22at West Ham.
- 19:23He's proven he can consolidate a solid place in the league.
- 19:26So it might be just back him.
- 19:29Just back him because the and then the sword falls on him.
- 19:32Yeah.
- 19:33You haven't caught it like I'm like I'm not backing up.
- 19:36You know, you're always back and I want to but I'm just
- 19:40giving the argument, but for those that are just saying
- 19:43well, we can go get X person from Spain because he's doing
- 19:47well for such a club or X they don't know the Premier League.
- 19:49They don't understand the football club.
- 19:51Everton are a very unique football club and whereas English football
- 19:56as it comes, really, Everton, I'm even a puppet.
- 19:58The fans who are going on at me on my social platforms and then
- 20:01going, it's got to be a y'all in the go.
- 20:03You're just a dead.
- 20:04You're okay, are you all right?
- 20:05And I'm just like for those that even want him.
- 20:07We wouldn't come towards this.
- 20:08Yeah, he definitely wouldn't come to us.
- 20:10Not that he's not that we want him to.
- 20:12But you're just looking at who you could get.
- 20:16Who's available?
- 20:17In my opinion, we have to get a manager that's already
- 20:20managed in the Premier League because because we're as
- 20:23Premier League as it comes when it comes to understanding
- 20:25the football and the style.
- 20:26You can't come in and try and do flimsy kind of football
- 20:29with us.
- 20:30It doesn't work.
- 20:31We're not that kind of club.
- 20:32You need to get it.
- 20:33You need to have a bit of a Premier League experience.
- 20:34You just understand English football.
- 20:36And I just don't think there's, I don't think for this
- 20:40transitional phase that we're in because again,
- 20:43Moot was still just one year into moving to a new stadium.
- 20:45One year, just over one year with new ownership.
- 20:48We're still in a stability phase.
- 20:51We're still in a, yes, we were disappointed,
- 20:53by the way, the season finished because of hope.
- 20:56But, you know, by this year's unsolved well
- 20:58in the first three quarters, by this time next year,
- 21:00if we make, we make the exact same progress this year
- 21:04that we made last year will be, we'll be, what,
- 21:07on the top, seventh or eighth, and suddenly you're flying.
- 21:09And there are those that say, I think,
- 21:12they were Moes or Everton, I had 48 points last year,
- 21:1549 this year, maybe 47 the year before and call it similar.
- 21:19But each Premier League is different.
- 21:22So points tell you it's going to be great.
- 21:23But you, you can win the title on 101 points one year
- 21:26and you can win the title on 84, the next.
- 21:29Doesn't make a difference.
- 21:30The 20th.
- 21:31Arsenal wouldn't have been in the,
- 21:32there wouldn't have been a title point.
- 21:33It's a win city.
- 21:34We're getting a hundred and not points.
- 21:35No, no, we're getting a double point.
- 21:36Sorry, yeah, you're spot on.
- 21:37The seasons are different and that's a points do give you
- 21:40the basis.
- 21:41So across it of how you're averaging on all that,
- 21:44but positions in the table do it way better
- 21:48because then you can pay on yourself
- 21:49because the league might be more competitive,
- 21:51more different, or different aspects of looking at it.
- 21:54So we've gone from, in fact, where did we actually finish?
- 21:58Last year, did we finish 13th and we're 13th?
- 22:00They're going to say that and suddenly we're 13th and 13th.
- 22:03But I just feel like I feel like we made a bit of progress
- 22:06this year, just for where we've been all season in the league.
- 22:10Yeah, last season we were 13th.
- 22:11I just, I was a set of 48 points.
- 22:13At your 30th, 48 points.
- 22:14But that was a, that was a five-year-old, five-year-old.
- 22:17Five-year-old.
- 22:18And had that and had our really good run at the end,
- 22:21which I was talking before, had our really good run at the end.
- 22:23Everyone's gone great, positive because we finished the game
- 22:25with eight to 10, you know, unbeaten in that many.
- 22:29And they've always gone at the end, rescuers.
- 22:31We had our dip in that time this year, frustrating.
- 22:34Definitely frustrating.
- 22:35Dips come at the end instead of at the start.
- 22:38Where does, you know, I think manages you
- 22:39to dip at the start of the season,
- 22:40the usually gone by Christmas.
- 22:42I do think, yeah, it's probably going to start the season
- 22:45positively.
- 22:46I was going to say, what is he going to do next season?
- 22:48So the same thing's background.
- 22:50I just want to see him back first.
- 22:52I just want to see our manager back.
- 22:54I think if you're back and I just believe,
- 22:57if a manager can come out and go listen,
- 22:59I've got the people I wanted in.
- 23:01I've got the staff I wanted in.
- 23:03I've got the players I wanted in.
- 23:04It's on me.
- 23:05I'm culpable.
- 23:06And this is what I don't like about football, no more.
- 23:09I just don't see that in managers.
- 23:11I'm starting to get quite fed up now.
- 23:13I really do, I've renewed our tickets,
- 23:18but I'm like, if I don't, I'm starting to get fed up
- 23:22of football.
- 23:23I'm just having a little bit of me to have to do.
- 23:25The end of the season really don't meet at the end of the season.
- 23:28I feel like, because I just, I thought,
- 23:30we're going to see some other kids going to get away.
- 23:32Yeah, and so we're all disappointed,
- 23:33but I don't think it's suddenly time to jump ship.
- 23:36I think it's time for cool heads, calmness, stability.
- 23:40Go again next season.
- 23:41And I honestly believe it'll be,
- 23:44we'll make further steps.
- 23:46Well, you know what?
- 23:48It all depends on what squad you've got,
- 23:49because we need to keep hold of our best place.
- 23:51And there's a lot more noise around the event.
- 23:53There's a lot of noise around the early at the minute.
- 23:54Yeah, there's a lot of good players we've got to meet.
- 23:57To the street, I mean, I think he and Jusby Old, Jimmy Garner,
- 24:01the element that they've been revelations this season,
- 24:03I go that far, saying that, I think,
- 24:05Jimmy Garner has been absolutely fantastic.
- 24:07That's the last show we did earlier.
- 24:09Getting these big words and, I mean, just give me a,
- 24:11give me enough time and I'll let it,
- 24:13and I'll get this combined with him as well.
- 24:15Oh, I am, I am feeling a bit shaky on the way,
- 24:18and I like a food, to be honest.
- 24:20But, you know what, these, we've had some really good players
- 24:23to shit on, but are we honest as?
- 24:26I don't think the worry is losing these players.
- 24:29I think, I think there'll be a bit of an accident this season.
- 24:32I think there'll be a number of players who are told,
- 24:34because when you're dealing with a man,
- 24:35it's like David Moise, I think he's pretty honest and straight.
- 24:38And I think he's a fellow who's going to go,
- 24:40you know what, you're not needed or you're not.
- 24:41There's some manager, and I've seen that many come and go.
- 24:44Now, some managers will be honest and straight and say,
- 24:46you're not for me, you don't fit into me plans.
- 24:49Someone, you get some manager who are liars and say that,
- 24:52you are me plans, you do this, you get in there.
- 24:54I just think with them,
- 24:55he's pretty straight down the line, he's a straight shooter.
- 24:57And I think you just let's say it in players, no,
- 24:59you're not for me, kid, I don't think you're the one.
- 25:02And it doesn't mean it's any of it.
- 25:03You just, you know, we stand there.
- 25:04And I think that's what you'd want to play.
- 25:06That's what you'd want.
- 25:07Definitely.
- 25:07You want to tell anyone you're at?
- 25:08Anyone will tell you, yeah, you want to,
- 25:10you want to know you've got a fair crack at it,
- 25:12and you want to know that you feel like you're part of a team
- 25:15when you're working to somebody.
- 25:16You don't want to, you know,
- 25:18I'm going to say you don't want to work hard
- 25:20and then not get, that's not what I'm trying to say,
- 25:22but you don't want to be committing everything you are
- 25:25to something that you're not actually a part of.
- 25:28Yeah.
- 25:28And there's no way it doesn't matter what you do,
- 25:30you're not going to be a part of or involved in plans.
- 25:33So yeah, he has always been like that.
- 25:35He'll have the conversations that you need.
- 25:37That's right, not everyone else.
- 25:39Not everyone across football will give you that.
- 25:40Yeah.
- 25:42So you think that will heal, tell people that they're gone?
- 25:46I'm open, so because I just don't see the,
- 25:48you can't carry dead one, the Premier League.
- 25:50And you can't carry play, I just don't,
- 25:53we're never going to have this big massive squad of stars.
- 25:57So I think you're going to have to get it, get it right.
- 26:01Oh, that's a good question.
- 26:03Put that one on your toes.
- 26:04Yeah, you're up, but that's not for me,
- 26:05John says that's what I'm trying to do.
- 26:07That's what I'm trying to do.
- 26:09Oh, I was thinking I'd do a jab at him and he talked the way he
- 26:12touched.
- 26:13Yeah.
- 26:14We dropped it.
- 26:15We've all got our opinions on who we like and who we don't like,
- 26:20but it's, I'm not the manager.
- 26:21And I don't see what he sees day in day out and train.
- 26:24You got your opinion, no?
- 26:25I've got my opinion.
- 26:25And I've got me, I think it's good enough.
- 26:27And I think it's not good enough.
- 26:28But there's good one there.
- 26:30Good one there.
- 26:31I'll go after you.
- 26:32In recent weeks, a lot of fans are saying the backline
- 26:34isn't good enough.
- 26:35That's a common trend.
- 26:38Well, the biggest sherry, you want me to go first again.
- 26:40We've got the biggest sherry.
- 26:42We've got it's been injured.
- 26:45John got this.
- 26:45I felt so sorry for him when he re-enged it in the derby.
- 26:49Just because it's trying.
- 26:50He knew what he felt and he knew it was bad again.
- 26:53And he was going to be out for the rest of the season.
- 26:55I don't know how long it's going to be.
- 26:57But it's a big thing to have a recurrent hamstring
- 27:02go in that way for a young man.
- 27:05And he just hoped that he's going to be able to get over it.
- 27:09But it might scare the suitors, the big suitors off who
- 27:14were interested in it.
- 27:15Because he's harder than me.
- 27:16He's got a lot of time.
- 27:17He might scare them off.
- 27:20Jacob Ryan, we definitely need a right back.
- 27:23Obviously, Jake made some big mistakes against Sunderland.
- 27:28Is that unacceptable?
- 27:30It is not a right back.
- 27:32It's not acceptable.
- 27:33No, no, but it's understandable.
- 27:34Yeah.
- 27:35I think it's proven that he's not a right back.
- 27:37So it's one of them moments that it was inevitable that
- 27:41it's going to be in his deck come at some point.
- 27:44Jake's going to slot into a half long term.
- 27:47He's done well when he's played center after season.
- 27:49Yeah, look, and I just think of in a world of, in a world
- 27:55lacking in leaders.
- 27:56And now we've lost shame as Taki's the big voice on the pitch.
- 28:01He's the organizer.
- 28:02And he's not been as good this.
- 28:04I think he'd admit he's had a decent season,
- 28:06but he's not been as good as he was.
- 28:08He's been to a lot of other season before.
- 28:10He's not getting younger, me.
- 28:11No, he's not getting younger.
- 28:12No one.
- 28:13Things slowed down.
- 28:14I've been in that situation where the messages are still
- 28:18getting to your legs, but your legs aren't moving as quick.
- 28:20The reaction speed.
- 28:21Yeah, but he's still in there.
- 28:23And he's still off as an awful in the same way that David
- 28:25Weir and Stubz, he did because they, they slowed down.
- 28:30He played different.
- 28:30But their mind and their experience worked.
- 28:32And they're talking was huge throughout the pitch.
- 28:35And they were playing in teams that had lots of talkers
- 28:38in the teams for the minute.
- 28:39Taki picks at the back.
- 28:41Maybe it's tough for a goalkeeper to be shouting
- 28:44all information out.
- 28:45Do you either keep it when he shout to us when you're like,
- 28:47I try not to listen to the key.
- 28:48I know, but you know when you were playing.
- 28:50Could you be a T or when you're in your heart?
- 28:54Only when you're in your heart.
- 28:56When I played in soccer, I was, I was a goalkeeper
- 28:59for one of the people that were ignoring you.
- 29:01Of course he was.
- 29:02But I was screaming and, and, and not for a fact,
- 29:05good news with.
- 29:06I was like, no, the atmosphere is like,
- 29:08it depends if it's just calm down.
- 29:10There's loads of, there's loads of mitigating factors.
- 29:13I mean, like just think about a manager shouting on
- 29:15from the side of the pitch.
- 29:16You can't always be here.
- 29:17I was, I was, I was, I think you'd hardly ever hear them.
- 29:21So that's why that's why I used to know you,
- 29:22the life of me when I played on right midfield
- 29:26or wherever it all left midfield on the manager's side
- 29:28because he just screamed at you all the time
- 29:30and told you, come here, come here,
- 29:32I said, I said, tell him together.
- 29:34And then if the messages didn't go over
- 29:35to the right people, I'd get you out of that
- 29:37because he told me and I didn't get the messages
- 29:38off the right people.
- 29:39No, no, no, no, no, just a Y meal.
- 29:41Spent the whole game just passing on messages.
- 29:45But just talk and talk it in the world of,
- 29:48you know, just need leaders.
- 29:50That's why he plays.
- 29:50If, I think if Jacob Bryant had
- 29:53talkies sort of personality, personality,
- 29:56talk and shout in ownership, leadership,
- 29:59given information, then he'd probably be playing right
- 30:02sent off in our best team with Jon.
- 30:05Is talking keen together a problem?
- 30:08I think they are two outstanding pros.
- 30:11I think they are two outstanding people.
- 30:14But I think time will, I think evidence has been
- 30:18over the last five or six seasons
- 30:21that they don't necessarily come to mind.
- 30:23I don't mean play them together.
- 30:25I'll be honest though, I think Michael Keynes
- 30:27being really good this season.
- 30:28No, I think he's a good season for one of his best,
- 30:31one of his better seasons.
- 30:32It's mad that because, as you can see,
- 30:35the talkies throwing down.
- 30:37It's like Keynes.
- 30:38I don't, yeah, it's mad out.
- 30:40It's just crazy because two years
- 30:42you're a wouldn't have thought this would be saying that.
- 30:45But now it looks, I don't know, might be time
- 30:47or whatever, I'll be able to talk.
- 30:49He might start a bit more than you think.
- 30:50I don't know, but there's one thing you'll get out of
- 30:53talkies, you're getting under in 10% time,
- 30:55every time he steps on a pitch, he's putting his body
- 30:57on the line, he's going as much as he can.
- 30:59But, as he's writing his plays and he knows
- 31:03how they're feeling because he's being there
- 31:04and he's done it, you know what I mean?
- 31:06And as I said, Jacob Ryan is ready to come in.
- 31:09I'm with Jacob Ryan and Jared, the two younger lads,
- 31:12but then it's a massive, I'm a big believer
- 31:15and you've got to have older kids in a dressing room.
- 31:17You can't have kids or own kids.
- 31:19You really can't.
- 31:20You've got to have seniority in a dressing room.
- 31:22It's so important.
- 31:23When these were in there, there was seniors and they were leaders,
- 31:27and it helped so much with the likes of boss.
- 31:29Younger lads in the squad, younger boys coming through.
- 31:32It was huge, you know, it really was.
- 31:34Yeah, it was.
- 31:36And you've got to have that throughout the team.
- 31:38And if there's only one, then it's generally playing.
- 31:42Then you look at who's playing alongside him
- 31:44and the thing with Keynote and Target, the back is,
- 31:49again, brilliant pros.
- 31:51And you just touched on it yourself there.
- 31:53So they've not really got pace.
- 31:55So if you played Jared and one of them, or you played Jake
- 31:59and one of them, then you might have a talker.
- 32:02And no, you've got the balance then.
- 32:03And the old, you know, a really aggressive one
- 32:06would be Keynote and Target.
- 32:07And then the other, the one who reads the game better
- 32:10and covers with pace and assesses it and gets in
- 32:13would be your Jared and your Jacob Ryan.
- 32:15So I think it's all potentially there.
- 32:18But I mean, the manager gave a great speech
- 32:20at the end of the season due on the stage.
- 32:24Because I hosted that due the day.
- 32:25And it was, it was, it was brilliant to do.
- 32:28Thank you.
- 32:29Just chuck that one in and me suit.
- 32:31It took a lot of back.
- 32:32Jesus, we took barely fit me for a better way.
- 32:36It's on since the last war.
- 32:37It that was a bad moment.
- 32:39Fort me way into it.
- 32:40I've got me cufflinks as well.
- 32:42I had to get, I had to get one of the ladies who was who.
- 32:47I was just like, how would you show your shirt?
- 32:49Now I did a dress rehearsal like in the afternoon,
- 32:53so I went down there, I said, dress rehearsal.
- 32:56I did a rehearsal, went down there,
- 32:57and I went to the Titanic to get changed and took me
- 33:00to talks and forgot the cufflinks.
- 33:02So one of the ladies had to take, you know,
- 33:03the, there was a little bit of string
- 33:05that tied your badge around your neck.
- 33:07She took the string you got.
- 33:09I had to use the string on my cufflinks
- 33:11because I couldn't say it.
- 33:13Because they don't have cufflinks.
- 33:14So yeah, that was.
- 33:15What the voice.
- 33:15Anyway, I took it all around the way.
- 33:17I mean, I had the pop of me, didn't mean.
- 33:19I mean, it was a bit strange.
- 33:22So asked him to talk about James again,
- 33:24and he said, yeah, you know, what a, what a guy.
- 33:27What a lead.
- 33:28And James had touched on it earlier
- 33:30and in the night in his speech, he's what he said.
- 33:32So Moise touched on as well and said,
- 33:34James came from people,
- 33:36learnt from people,
- 33:38the generations before, might be self like,
- 33:41like Stubzzi, like Jags, like Bainzi, like,
- 33:44and we learnt from the generation before,
- 33:46going all the way back, going all the way back
- 33:48to the 80s guys that were in the room.
- 33:50And even to the 70s guys, one or two of them were about,
- 33:54and he said, they all learnt,
- 33:55and then he said, I'm looking at the tables,
- 33:57with the first team here now,
- 33:58and I'm wondering who's stepping up next,
- 34:00who's going to learn, who's going to take on the mantle,
- 34:03because someone does need to,
- 34:05and I thought, yeah, I love a bit of that.
- 34:07I nearly tried to grab an arm band
- 34:09from somewhere to show them that I could still.
- 34:11Yeah.
- 34:11I'll do it.
- 34:12He had me, he had me in the soul.
- 34:14He had me in the coach, yeah.
- 34:16He nearly had me there.
- 34:17What do you do, senior?
- 34:18What do you do?
- 34:19I think we need to sign,
- 34:21somewhere that he comes in and brings that.
- 34:22Like, when we sign Phil Neville,
- 34:24that's where he's definitely brought in a lead,
- 34:26that is the someone that we can get to help.
- 34:29Different kind of lead, to be fair.
- 34:30Yeah, Phil wasn't an inspirational speech guy.
- 34:34Yeah.
- 34:35No one's an inspirational speech guy.
- 34:38But he led by example,
- 34:40and he wanted to do things first.
- 34:41He wanted to be,
- 34:45and he wanted to be at the front of every,
- 34:47if every row he wanted to be at the front of every,
- 34:50you know, when the manager took us out
- 34:52or whatever it might be,
- 34:53Phil would be first and laden in that way, yeah.
- 34:55But there's so many different types of leaderships
- 34:58and actually within a squad,
- 34:59you probably need a few of them.
- 35:01You know, you need more than one.
- 35:03You need more people to step up.
- 35:05Like look at it, it dresses, you know, 36, 37.
- 35:10If it does stay, you think and come on.
- 35:12Let's get about breeze.
- 35:13He's more of a quiet guy.
- 35:15Really a guy though, he tell this story,
- 35:18I'm sure he probably,
- 35:19because he does think so discreetly.
- 35:22But there was an auction at the,
- 35:26at the end of season awards,
- 35:28and it was one of the prizes, there was five prizes,
- 35:31there was some really good ones,
- 35:33all involved with the players.
- 35:34One of them was for Ileman and Diane.
- 35:37I think it was for Tyler Diblin, as well,
- 35:38to go into a school or into a school team
- 35:41or any teams,
- 35:43under league team or for your own kids
- 35:45and doing a couple of hours coaching
- 35:47and I was coaching what it was.
- 35:48So there was a couple on a table somewhere
- 35:51that were bidding and trying to win it for their football team.
- 35:54I don't know, they must have run a football team.
- 35:57And they were getting bid against by someone else
- 35:59and they didn't know who,
- 36:01and it got up to 12 grand,
- 36:04and then someone realised it was a dresser
- 36:06that was bidding against them,
- 36:09and then a dresser basically outbid them.
- 36:11No, what they were bidding, he was just bidding more.
- 36:14And I, a couple of people thought
- 36:16because he just wanted,
- 36:17is me to Ileman and I to do something,
- 36:19and as soon as then we called the auctioneer over and said,
- 36:22donate it to them.
- 36:23I want them to have that just on me.
- 36:26Hope they enjoy it, that kind of thing.
- 36:27So, it was a great thing.
- 36:29Doing his badges, but top guy,
- 36:32these kind of stories go unnoticed within the game,
- 36:35mainly only the bad stories,
- 36:37the jack realist sort of stuff gets talked about
- 36:40from that night, Jack was,
- 36:42I think it came out publicly,
- 36:43Jack had had a couple of drinks in the afternoon,
- 36:46thoroughly enjoyed himself.
- 36:47I loved it.
- 36:48It's good on him.
- 36:49Boats, that story came out,
- 36:51but the, just the day gay story didn't come out.
- 36:53Yeah, of course it does.
- 36:54You know, about the donation and all that,
- 36:57he's been in there for the last three months now,
- 37:00because our baby's in their train of a night,
- 37:02and he's in there watching the sessions,
- 37:03doing the sessions,
- 37:04he's in there till eight, nine o'clock at night.
- 37:07So he's been in there all day, then he's staying back,
- 37:09and he's doing the coaching sessions,
- 37:11he's learning, he's ready to do that,
- 37:12but he's not stepping up and sort of,
- 37:16I'm not saying I'm barking now,
- 37:18I'm not using that.
- 37:18So we need to find it from somewhere.
- 37:20Yeah, that's not his person, has it?
- 37:21I mean, I'm not,
- 37:26I'm trying to think of who do I say in that role, mold.
- 37:29I think if Tarky's to do whatever,
- 37:32he's going to make any decisions,
- 37:34I think it's up to pickers,
- 37:35but then what does it,
- 37:36is he rather keep it as,
- 37:37because he's so far away?
- 37:38Not off the pitch, off the pitch, it's fine,
- 37:40but on the pitch it is.
- 37:42On the pitch it's hard for messages to come out.
- 37:44I think you need someone to play on the pitch.
- 37:47Yeah, you really do.
- 37:50Yeah, you do.
- 37:51I'll tell you something else.
- 37:52I'm going off ever and slightly,
- 37:54but that's the best of both stones.
- 37:59Congrats, first of all,
- 38:00on a wonderful man city career.
- 38:02What are you making of this guard of honor?
- 38:04Jordan the game, from both teams to walk people off?
- 38:08Oh, did you see that?
- 38:09No, I didn't see it.
- 38:09I was on the game, I've read a lot of it.
- 38:11But now, the silver goes off after, let's say, 60,
- 38:14and it'll all apply,
- 38:1560 to 65 minutes,
- 38:16and he's about to get sucked,
- 38:18or he is getting sucked.
- 38:19And both teams,
- 38:20Aston Villa included a man city,
- 38:22he ran to the side of the pitch
- 38:23and gave him a guard of honor to go off the pitch
- 38:25on like 60 minutes.
- 38:26It's a bit strange.
- 38:27Then in the club,
- 38:28and then the next thing,
- 38:29the game carries on,
- 38:30and then John Stone's got sucked and he did the exact same thing.
- 38:32Oh, I'm going to fight.
- 38:33Aston Villa players.
- 38:33Why are you living with that?
- 38:34I'm fighting for the Champions League place.
- 38:37No, they don't eat the other.
- 38:38They don't eat the other.
- 38:39He's twice over here,
- 38:40once through winning the Europa League.
- 38:43Wow, that was a string and win that by the way.
- 38:46They're a good side, then, mate.
- 38:47I mean, if you want to go along with the place
- 38:49for topics there,
- 38:50if you want to get into a trophy,
- 38:52then just,
- 38:53just employ you and I, Amry.
- 38:54Ooh, because he's going to win you the Europa.
- 38:57He just goes on winning the Europa League.
- 38:58It's his trophy, isn't it?
- 38:59Of course, he just calls the United Emery Europa League.
- 39:01Five times, he's winning.
- 39:02Just leave it in his living room.
- 39:03I mean, that's where it belongs.
- 39:05I'll tell you one.
- 39:06And we're almost seeing reality in squads and players
- 39:10being that's what Chelsea miss.
- 39:13Yeah, yeah, sure.
- 39:14I fully that and I better see the reality in the team.
- 39:18Imagine them with a John Teddy.
- 39:21They need, well, to be fair,
- 39:22I think someone came out,
- 39:23this someone said they're going to be head hunting,
- 39:28finished articles.
- 39:29Like over the last three seasons,
- 39:30they've been buying potential,
- 39:31haven't they?
- 39:32They go up in price,
- 39:34they're going to be buying finished articles.
- 39:36I'm big characters.
- 39:37So I think they've now realized.
- 39:39I don't believe that.
- 39:40But I get to do it.
- 39:40But, you know, they've got Alonzo coming in,
- 39:44should be a decent coach,
- 39:45what he did at Leibha Cousin.
- 39:47But he's already,
- 39:48you've got sort of a bit of a mess out there.
- 39:50As he ends up in Andes' come out and said,
- 39:51he wants to leave.
- 39:52Absolutely.
- 39:53Yeah, he's basically, again,
- 39:54he's come out over the last day or two,
- 39:55saying he wants to.
- 39:56Of course you want me to leave.
- 39:58Chelsea, if Chelsea said,
- 39:59well, you're going to now cost 120 million,
- 40:01but they sign it for 100.
- 40:03I'm sure he's paying 120 million.
- 40:04I mean, I do think he's a top player of us.
- 40:07Top, top like.
- 40:09I have a hundred and spiny million.
- 40:10If you could buy Declan Rice for a hundred,
- 40:13I don't know.
- 40:13Would you buy Declan?
- 40:14Would you buy Andes' for 120?
- 40:15I just think the prices are being elevated, obviously.
- 40:18But if someone comes with a hundred million,
- 40:20they'll let them go.
- 40:21They'll go,
- 40:22they'll be happy to sign the money back.
- 40:23Too right.
- 40:24Too right.
- 40:25But I do think he's a top player,
- 40:26because even in,
- 40:27they are on a great team.
- 40:29And they've meshed all over the place.
- 40:31You've got different managers coming in.
- 40:33You've got about five different managers squads in there.
- 40:37Five different managers.
- 40:37I do put them once again, as I say,
- 40:39is it the managers squads
- 40:41or is it the director of football squad?
- 40:43And this is the big thing I'm getting to.
- 40:45You're second managers,
- 40:47and you're dealing with players that he has nice for.
- 40:50How are you second in manager?
- 40:51And this way we're going,
- 40:53Pep Guardiola leave him on city.
- 40:55It's just now thrown out
- 40:57the most powerful manager in well football.
- 41:00So ease out.
- 41:01There's one manager left who's got full power
- 41:03on over the club, but not that's Michaela.
- 41:05I don't, unless you're talking
- 41:07Yegan Club comes back in place football.
- 41:08Do you know how I am not?
- 41:09Has he got power?
- 41:10Possibly, I've,
- 41:12I've really might have everything over it
- 41:14or possibly, but I still think,
- 41:16everyone's still done like this PSR
- 41:18and everyone's still restricted at the,
- 41:20I still think he made the clubs
- 41:21are the top clubs,
- 41:22I can obviously spend a lot of time.
- 41:24Michaela, I'm setting out answers to nobody.
- 41:26I think you know how anybody
- 41:27still might even answer to a couple of people.
- 41:30But I don't think Michaela
- 41:31has answers to anybody.
- 41:32But I don't think Michaela does because
- 41:34he's sacked Edou,
- 41:35he's sacked the director of football
- 41:36so you know you're empowered.
- 41:37But they packed him and even when they had wobbly times
- 41:41and even then I spoke to so many artists
- 41:43or fans when I was working in London
- 41:44that were like,
- 41:45time to get out of it at the door.
- 41:46He could, they'd had a stumble.
- 41:48Time to get him out.
- 41:48He just can't get it done.
- 41:49We're going to get knocked out of Europe.
- 41:51We won't win the Premier League
- 41:51and it's time to get him out and I'm thinking,
- 41:53not saying that.
- 41:54Just be patient with it, Jesus.
- 41:55And now, yeah, just seasons a long time.
- 41:58Season's a long time.
- 42:00You've got to give people a chance
- 42:01but you also,
- 42:02and the ownership of you talking to them,
- 42:04yes, did back him and they spent.
- 42:07So they'd already bought Declan Rice
- 42:10somewhere before.
- 42:10They'd already bought someone,
- 42:12a lot of people in habits and people,
- 42:14this summer they spent six to 18,
- 42:17probably 200,000,000,000,000,000.
- 42:20This summer because they bought,
- 42:22might work as a jokeresh and someone else
- 42:26has a top that all of them
- 42:28was between 50 and 60 million.
- 42:30So they basically backed him
- 42:32and committed to winning it all this year
- 42:34and coming full circle back to Chelsea.
- 42:37I don't know if Javier Lanzo has gone in there
- 42:40without having some sort of assurances.
- 42:44Can you go to assurances in the Premier League these days?
- 42:47Yeah, I think he wants some sort of power.
- 42:48Some sort of, come on,
- 42:50I'm going to be able to have.
- 42:52Javier Lanzo is not having power to Chelsea.
- 42:55I don't have any goals there if he doesn't have it.
- 42:56Well, Declan, he's getting it to go in
- 42:58and get a job on,
- 43:00but I'm telling you now,
- 43:01Javier Lanzo's not calling the shots of the Chelsea.
- 43:04No chance.
- 43:05He ain't getting exactly who he wants.
- 43:06You'll soon see,
- 43:08because they want a head coach.
- 43:09The amount of money still shouting down
- 43:11from the talent he made.
- 43:12I'm telling you, man.
- 43:13Put it back, man.
- 43:14No, no, right, man.
- 43:15And so he's playing.
- 43:16Yeah, what he says he's playing.
- 43:18But I mean,
- 43:19I just don't believe,
- 43:21I just don't believe any manager now
- 43:23who's coming into job.
- 43:24I'll tell you now,
- 43:25Meresca's going to City,
- 43:26and Meresca will have very little power.
- 43:28And if I was Meresca,
- 43:30you better put your arm down,
- 43:31feel folding,
- 43:32and just a nursing lab,
- 43:33because you need them to shine for you.
- 43:36Do you think City will...
- 43:39I mean, I think they got closer to the title this year
- 43:41than I thought in a transition year,
- 43:44two years without winning it for them now.
- 43:46Do you think Meresca can bring them back?
- 43:50I'm not sure.
- 43:51I don't think...
- 43:52I'm not sure.
- 43:53I think it's going to take a year.
- 43:55But I'm really not sure.
- 43:56It all depends on if he can get an arm.
- 43:58I just think, feel folding is the key.
- 44:00I think, I think, feel folding is the that good of a footballer.
- 44:03If you can put an arm down,
- 44:04they can get him on side.
- 44:05You've got a chance of the league.
- 44:06I think he's that important.
- 44:07He can be...
- 44:08He's at a down...
- 44:09Yeah.
- 44:10He's at a down,
- 44:12a bit of a down spell with regards to four.
- 44:13How he, I know I was,
- 44:15but how he's not in that England squad is beyond me.
- 44:18It is...
- 44:19I mean, please, someone...
- 44:21Am I wrongly?
- 44:23Now, I'm obviously the punchy boxer.
- 44:25So that's just be totally, brutally honest.
- 44:27Mad way, K, and Jordan Henderson.
- 44:30And you've got Cole Palmer.
- 44:33You've got Phil Folding, and you've got Adam Warton.
- 44:36What is...
- 44:37What's going on, mate?
- 44:39What's going on?
- 44:41This fella's 10 and up in his room
- 44:42if they ain't made this stage.
- 44:44Jordan Anderson's not going to play me.
- 44:46At this, he's had an amazing career.
- 44:48I'm not knocking him a water career.
- 44:49He's won the law, fair play to him, but mate.
- 44:53And I know, five years ago, Roy Keen made this comment.
- 44:56Or does he do card six?
- 44:57Yeah.
- 44:58Does he do a single item?
- 44:59I understand players need...
- 45:01And people will say,
- 45:02well, you talk almost to him in his squad.
- 45:04I will say two things.
- 45:06Firstly, I don't necessarily agree
- 45:09with everything that Thomas Tuchel's done.
- 45:12But secondly, that's the podcast
- 45:15that we're going to do next.
- 45:17So that's not trying to take up all of our...
- 45:19OK, yeah, OK, let's forget the wipe that out.
- 45:21We're going to talk about that next round.
- 45:23I'm fucking furious.
- 45:24Let's go back to the managers.
- 45:25Yeah, Michael, that's the E1 Premier League manager of the year.
- 45:29He didn't win the CLX FAQs in the ward,
- 45:31which is the overarching manager
- 45:32for cross-all leagues.
- 45:33Lampard, wouldn't he?
- 45:34Do you think that's fair?
- 45:36That's all that's been robbed?
- 45:37I don't, I wouldn't say robbed.
- 45:39Because Frank's done a great job there.
- 45:41Do you know if Glasgow's no one's a Glasgow sugar?
- 45:44There's been a couple of contenders.
- 45:45I go back to who I am.
- 45:47Who I am, right?
- 45:48He was nominated.
- 45:50He was up for...
- 45:51In nearly...
- 45:52He's sorry, he got them in a fight for the championship,
- 45:55although they didn't actually stay in it all season long.
- 45:58They obviously qualified for the Champions League twice over.
- 46:02I win in the Europa League as well.
- 46:05Irayola, getting Bournemouth into Europe
- 46:07and going 18 games on beating for Bournemouth
- 46:10from where they are, Outstanding.
- 46:15It doesn't sit well, me, the Bournemouth one.
- 46:17There's just over a cheve, and that's it, by the way.
- 46:20That's the point, yeah, that's where she gets it.
- 46:22I know, yeah, but you know, Glasgow's not the best chapter in nearly all that.
- 46:25Well, if you're talking...
- 46:26She wants something, if you're doing it last year,
- 46:28potentially winning this year, because it's tonight.
- 46:31And that's what I'll be honest with,
- 46:33he is losing his best players and all the footballs.
- 46:35He's also leaving himself.
- 46:36I know, yeah, but he's losing his best players
- 46:38hand every time he loses his best players.
- 46:40He's lost the best centre-off in the country.
- 46:42He's lost the best winners in the country.
- 46:44They lost three or the back four, maybe even both four,
- 46:46the back four over the summer, and still managed to improve.
- 46:49So it's not about...
- 46:51It fundamentally is about overachieving.
- 46:55That's what gets you a shot.
- 46:57That's what gets you a shot.
- 46:58These managers guarantee these jobs, and this one annoys me again,
- 47:00is because it's like, well, the job potted on a brighten.
- 47:03It was really good.
- 47:04Then you step to a plate where, you know what?
- 47:07You know, we're expected to win every week now.
- 47:09We can win or we can't win each week.
- 47:10When you're expecting it, the pressure is different.
- 47:13And then also, you're walking to a dressing room full of egos.
- 47:16And this is the part that annoys me,
- 47:18because a manager is no longer a manager,
- 47:19no more on a head coach, though, it is no longer a head coach.
- 47:22He's a psychiatrist.
- 47:24He's basically an egos, my sus.
- 47:27He's like, let's get on with it.
- 47:28Come on, get a grip yourself.
- 47:30Sort yourselves out, and it's just a...
- 47:33It's supposed to just go on down the bend.
- 47:36It's doing me a cap in.
- 47:37I've had enough.
- 47:38I have, I mean...
- 47:39Obviously, and actually, he's lost six games at these last six games.
- 47:43It's whatever number to me.
- 47:45But, come on, I'll say.
- 47:46I understand that.
- 47:47Michael manages to do that.
- 47:50I...
- 47:52It's hard to argue that Frank Lampard's not been brilliant this season.
- 47:56No, he's definitely been really good at that.
- 47:57But then, you look at the winners of each league.
- 48:00Each division could be in for a show.
- 48:03Those that got promoted by the playoffs, you know.
- 48:07Bolton just got promoted.
- 48:08Spidey.
- 48:09Yeah, you know, the whole getting up with it, you know,
- 48:12you could pick, you could pick anyone.
- 48:15Who would you pick?
- 48:16I, I personally would have picked Bickel.
- 48:18Yeah.
- 48:19I just, to be in the Champions League final,
- 48:21to have won the Premier League for the first time after the job he's done
- 48:25from, I know, it's a six-year project,
- 48:27but the job he's done and finally got over the line.
- 48:30He's been being doubted along the way.
- 48:32Yeah, I would have gone with him this year.
- 48:35He's the greatest manager of our area now, generation.
- 48:37He's beaten.
- 48:38So did slot last year though, and that's not, that's not age well.
- 48:41I mean, yeah, you're right there.
- 48:44When it comes to you.
- 48:46So no, you had to get there.
- 48:47Yeah, yeah, that's you done well.
- 48:49Well, good job.
- 48:50But ultimately, I can't believe that the decisions being made on a show
- 48:56if you like that before the Champions League final,
- 48:59because everyone would give it to Michael after the Champions League final.
- 49:02If he wins that.
- 49:03It's not even a debate, is it?
- 49:04You've made the decision.
- 49:06How stupid are the people who've made that decision luck?
- 49:08Is it done over all of it?
- 49:10Everything in the season, or has it done on just league for him?
- 49:12I think the other my awards is based on.
- 49:14I've got a chance.
- 49:15Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 49:16Is it based on everything?
- 49:17Yeah, well, they probably should wait a little bit longer.
- 49:19Like player of the year, Bruno Fernandez is one player of the year,
- 49:23any twice over the football writers and the other player of the year.
- 49:28Because definitely, I should be the two.
- 49:29Well, I would, I think Declan and I seven driven
- 49:33Arsenal to where they are being a huge part of it.
- 49:35But most of us, the people who tell you that would right,
- 49:38it's been as if not more influential for their team.
- 49:42We tend to look over goalkeepers, don't we?
- 49:44We're not giving them the another golden glove for them.
- 49:47Three seasons on the run.
- 49:50He's got a nice one.
- 49:52He's the third goalkeeper to do it.
- 49:54Edison, did it?
- 49:56Did Banda sah do it?
- 49:58There's been a couple of keepers, but not many.
- 50:01Pepe Rainer, did it?
- 50:02Yeah, there's been a few keepers, but not many keeper.
- 50:05Three on the run.
- 50:06No, he actually did get 21 assists
- 50:12coming the end of the season, which is the all-time record.
- 50:15So he's definitely in the conversation.
- 50:18Too much stat driven now.
- 50:21When you were playing, did you even talk
- 50:22or did you even hear the way the system?
- 50:25Ouch, Tony.
- 50:27It's not on me.
- 50:28It's not on me.
- 50:29You've got to load them.
- 50:32You know, when you were playing, I don't remember people going like,
- 50:34what have you got to assist today?
- 50:36Or like, what anyone?
- 50:37No, yeah, it wasn't a big thing.
- 50:39So speak to Steve McMahon about this as well.
- 50:44E-8s it, because he's like, they didn't
- 50:47use to proper do assists back in the day.
- 50:49So they might have given, I don't know,
- 50:5250 for tapping to give them a tap in if they look back now,
- 50:55but I'm just saying there would have been loads more
- 50:58when I'm involved in the game.
- 51:00It was to give Robbie Fowler at least.
- 51:02And if you're doing all the stats,
- 51:05I think I'd have probably got a lot more.
- 51:06So it is staturated, but we as the public love it.
- 51:12Yeah, we do.
- 51:13We as the public buy into it and love it.
- 51:14And that's why it's, that's why it is.
- 51:16You fantasy football and you've got your this
- 51:18and you've got to generate in the stats.
- 51:21And you've got, yeah, how am I betting?
- 51:22You've got was getting excited.
- 51:24And then we got to talk and point a Bruno Fernandez,
- 51:2621 assists, but only eight of them
- 51:29or nine of them are from open play.
- 51:31You're the best.
- 51:32How bad is that?
- 51:33No, it's eight of them.
- 51:34Takes their pieces, don't he?
- 51:35Roya the rovers.
- 51:36Eight of them from an open play.
- 51:37Roya the rovers, he takes everything.
- 51:39Just take the award, but.
- 51:40Do you do?
- 51:41Does that take a bit off in us?
- 51:43No, but no, because obviously ten of them
- 51:47are just crosses into the box.
- 51:48And don't tell me, I don't care what you say.
- 51:50No one's good enough.
- 51:51You've got a group in the box.
- 51:53You're not saying I'm putting it on Harry McGuire's head.
- 51:55He's right.
- 51:56And then the pieces play, take his will,
- 51:58end up with more assists.
- 52:02Bains he had loads of assists because, yes, he had unbelievable.
- 52:05Crosses.
- 52:06But he took his stuff.
- 52:07But he took his stuff.
- 52:08He took his stuff.
- 52:09Sorry, Basie, and all of it.
- 52:12Well, look, I was laughing at people
- 52:15who talk about set pieces that aren't important.
- 52:17Or crosses aren't important.
- 52:19Bany and I had, and I know this was one game.
- 52:22But as I could be the most important game in United
- 52:24History, they came from one hill behind
- 52:27in the 90th minute against Bayern Munich
- 52:29with two set pieces, two corner kicks that won them the game.
- 52:33It's always, but now it's not greater
- 52:35when it wins stuff on corners.
- 52:36And yes, it's over the whole season with Arsenal,
- 52:39and it can be a bit...
- 52:41Wait, if ever...
- 52:42You're not buying some corners.
- 52:43FD goals from a set piece.
- 52:44It's a set piece.
- 52:45Yeah, very special.
- 52:46It's a set piece on a lap.
- 52:47It's a set piece on a lap.
- 52:48So, of course, they're all huge buyers.
- 52:50I love it.
- 52:51If ever.
- 52:52I mean it.
- 52:53You can get your next season every goal set piece.
- 52:55I'll take it now.
- 52:56Thank you very much.
- 52:57And that is why I think Arsenal can win the Champions League.
- 53:02It's going to be my final question.
- 53:03That's a hard one.
- 53:04That's why I think they can win the Champions League Final.
- 53:06I would say they will.
- 53:07PSG are outstanding.
- 53:10They've got the best front three in the world football.
- 53:13Heavy favorites.
- 53:14Heavy favorites.
- 53:15They can...
- 53:16But Arsenal are arguably one of the best defences.
- 53:19I think they are possibly the only team.
- 53:21I think they are possibly...
- 53:22They've got a great defense in the Champions League.
- 53:25So, they are the anti-PSG.
- 53:27If they hang in there.
- 53:28And they defend and they frustrate.
- 53:30And they win a couple of court.
- 53:31I don't know.
- 53:32I think about the size of PSG, by the way.
- 53:34But you know what?
- 53:35You've got some very diminutive players.
- 53:36The midfielders are tiny.
- 53:38Carach Kelly is not going to head loads.
- 53:40Dembele is not a bigger head.
- 53:41You don't also forget.
- 53:42If he's even fit.
- 53:43When they won if they can defend or so privately.
- 53:45Because they showed that up behind.
- 53:47And so, they've got two ways to the game.
- 53:49I'm not sure Arsenal are anywhere near.
- 53:52They may be able to defend a little bit better than PSG.
- 53:55But they're not even in the system.
- 53:56I'm not saying that.
- 53:57I'm not saying that.
- 53:58But I've seen games won a lost by the team.
- 54:01They're all as good as the other team.
- 54:03Because they're stubborn.
- 54:04They defend.
- 54:05They get a little bit of luck.
- 54:06They get a little bit of luck.
- 54:07They get a little bit of luck.
- 54:08They get a little bit of luck.
- 54:09If they get an Arsenal.
- 54:11Come on then, yeah.
- 54:12All of us.
- 54:13All of us.
- 54:14In the same way you took PSG last time.
- 54:17I did, yeah.
- 54:18I did take PSG.
- 54:19I actually won Arsenal.
- 54:20I won Arsenal.
- 54:21I actually won.
- 54:22But you think PSG.
- 54:23I think PSG.
- 54:24I'll pull out.
- 54:25I think PSG.
- 54:26I think PSG.
- 54:27But I'll take it.
- 54:28I'll take it.
- 54:29You're pulling me into it.
- 54:30I'll take it.
- 54:31And I'll take it.
- 54:32I'll take it.
- 54:33I'll take it.
- 54:34Because I think.
- 54:35I don't know how PSG stop Arsenal on set pieces.
- 54:38So let's just say I'll still get five corners.
- 54:40I think I'll have to look at that.
- 54:41They could score two goals and five corners.
- 54:44Because their delivery is outstanding.
- 54:46They've got people that had the ball brilliantly.
- 54:48And I look at PSG and wonder about their size.
- 54:51If it's a game without set pieces.
- 54:54PSG probably win.
- 54:55I think right now.
- 54:56But it's not a game without set pieces.
- 54:57I think it's right now as we speak.
- 54:59He's the best act of management in the world.
- 55:01Luis Enrique.
- 55:02And he's shown.
- 55:03Is that because Pep's just out of a job?
- 55:05Or is that he's just showing our versus it?
- 55:07I'm not going to lie.
- 55:08I want to impress me the most.
- 55:09Who's going to be able to do what he's done.
- 55:11He just shut up shop.
- 55:12And that showed me this fellow can do it all.
- 55:15Because when you can shut up shop in a game so important.
- 55:17With the same personnel.
- 55:19Exactly.
- 55:20That was key.
- 55:21That's down to the manager.
- 55:22I'm sorry.
- 55:23Because he showed he can just go for it at home.
- 55:25And I can shut up shop way.
- 55:26And like I said, when it's the same personnel.
- 55:29That's a manager's tactics mate.
- 55:31That's not like a player's playing.
- 55:33It's down to the manager.
- 55:34He's drilled into them.
- 55:35And they're all fighting for them.
- 55:36They're all playing for them.
- 55:37What a manager.
- 55:38What a team.
- 55:39So what's the score going to be?
- 55:413-1.
- 55:42PSG.
- 55:43Yeah.
- 55:44I do hope I'm wrong.
- 55:45I hope it's 1-0 or 2-0.
- 55:47To the last snowboard.
- 55:48Because I've met Tecran.
- 55:49No, the good lead.
- 55:50And I've known the girl.
- 55:52I don't know many, way near like a house.
- 55:53But being around in many years.
- 55:55Go away.
- 55:56And just stop it.
- 55:57And I'd be made up for lucky.
- 55:59So lucky.
- 56:00Yeah.
- 56:01Maybe nobody did.
- 56:02Of the party videos.
- 56:03I've been since off.
- 56:04And I've been since off.
- 56:06And the party videos he sent me.
- 56:08In my sons together in June.
- 56:10So I'd love for them to get the job done.
- 56:12It'd be brilliant for them.
- 56:13really important. I think Arsenal in extra time. I'm going to I'm going to even say
- 56:192-2 and then Arsenal with another set piece in extra time. I want you to really believe
- 56:25know because you've just said you're three in LPR state.
