- 1:04Speaker 3: Oh Man, energy is high.
- 1:06Speaker 2: But before we start, but we gotta tell you to backstory.
- 1:08Speaker 2: This episode, one of the one of the one of
- 1:11Speaker 2: the people's favorites is episode number eleven. Darry Falcon restaurant
- 1:16Speaker 2: owner from Baltimore to listen to the episode you're doing
- 1:19Speaker 2: yourself with.
- 1:19Speaker 3: Your minister, Yeah, for sure.
- 1:23Speaker 2: So when he came on, he uh, he was talking
- 1:27Speaker 2: and he said a line, and he said this line.
- 1:29Speaker 4: When we see that a young black kid is he's
- 1:31Speaker 4: fifteen years old and he's six y.
- 1:33Speaker 5: Nine and he could driple.
- 1:34Speaker 3: We gotta make sure yo.
- 1:35Speaker 5: We we we clamoring, like keep him out of trouble
- 1:38Speaker 5: and make sure he get home.
- 1:39Speaker 4: But when you see the young black entrepreneurs twenty years
- 1:41Speaker 4: old who's selling nachos, you know, like my young man
- 1:44Speaker 4: killer from Nacho Bang, he sell a nachos, you.
- 1:46Speaker 5: Throw him to the wolves. Oh you know my cousin,
- 1:49Speaker 5: my uncle, my cracking uncle. Can you sweep the steps up?
- 1:52Speaker 2: Nah?
- 1:52Speaker 4: Stop doing that, because they do that all the time.
- 1:55Speaker 4: They tend to undermine the value of our entrepreneurs. With
- 1:58Speaker 4: essentially our entrepreneurs, I created all the future.
- 2:01Speaker 2: So when he said that line, when he said that line,
- 2:05Speaker 2: I didn't really know what he was talking about. Honestly,
- 2:06Speaker 2: I didn't really know what he was talking about.
- 2:08Speaker 3: No one called it.
- 2:09Speaker 2: He's like, well, man kill him, not Joe. He's telling
- 2:11Speaker 2: He's telling nachos, and I'm like, all right, but but
- 2:17Speaker 2: but so what happened was so when that clip, when
- 2:19Speaker 2: the clip came out, I put the clip on Instagram
- 2:22Speaker 2: and and my man, not your Bangers, he commented in
- 2:27Speaker 2: the comment like, Yo, I'm the kid. I'm not you.
- 2:29Speaker 2: I'm the kid he's talking about. I was like, oh,
- 2:31Speaker 2: And then I looked on his page and I've seen
- 2:33Speaker 2: he had like sixty thousand followers on Instagram. He got
- 2:36Speaker 2: a whole movement going, and I'm like, oh, so now
- 2:38Speaker 2: we connected the dots. So the dope thing about Your
- 2:39Speaker 2: Leasure is that it's more than just a podcast. Is
- 2:42Speaker 2: his storylines involved. It's a whole vib So from that,
- 2:47Speaker 2: so we met him in person at our DC event.
- 2:51Speaker 2: Him and his man a shot to out. They came,
- 2:53Speaker 2: they came to our podcast, and they came to the workshop.
- 2:56Speaker 2: And then from there he said, I'm not you said, bro,
- 2:59Speaker 2: I know you are. So we had we had a conversation.
- 3:02Speaker 2: And he's from Baltimore. So coming back to New York,
- 3:06Speaker 2: we had to, you know, pass through Baltimore on our
- 3:07Speaker 2: way back from d C. So we stopped at his
- 3:10Speaker 2: spot and we ate and he was telling us his story.
- 3:13Speaker 3: We gotta be to him. He's usually closed.
- 3:17Speaker 2: The spot. We'll talk about that. He opened the spot
- 3:20Speaker 2: for us. We ate and we had like an hour
- 3:23Speaker 2: long conversation, like, Yo, you want to come on the
- 3:25Speaker 2: podcast and he's like yeah. So he was in New
- 3:28Speaker 2: York for DJ MVY and Caesars similar to them, shout
- 3:31Speaker 2: out to them, y alumni, and afterwards came to E
- 3:35Speaker 2: Yo Studios and this is where we are now. So
- 3:39Speaker 2: first and foremost, thank you for sure, for sure. So
- 3:47Speaker 2: all right, so my man, Nacho ban, what do you
- 3:50Speaker 2: want me to call you? You want to call your government Hughie, Nacho.
- 3:55Speaker 5: Hue, mister banger. I had to get my real name,
- 4:00Speaker 5: you know.
- 4:03Speaker 2: So yeah. So the thing I like. The thing I
- 4:04Speaker 2: like about Nacho is that a lot of people have
- 4:06Speaker 2: been asking us, like, Yo, y'all got all of these
- 4:09Speaker 2: moguls that have like one hundred properties establish but it's like,
- 4:13Speaker 2: can you get like the up and coming entrepreneurs, Like
- 4:15Speaker 2: because the thing about religions, we tell everybody's story, right,
- 4:18Speaker 2: so like, yo, get an up and coming cat that's like,
- 4:20Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying, doing his thing, but it's
- 4:22Speaker 2: still in the beginning stages. So Nacho fits that perfectly.
- 4:25Speaker 2: Twenty three years old, and he had a whole booming
- 4:28Speaker 2: operation going on in Baltimore with the with the food.
- 4:32Speaker 2: He had the food truck, and then he had a
- 4:33Speaker 2: ghost restaurant. We'll talk about what the ghost restaurant is.
- 4:36Speaker 2: And then he had a really creative idea to like
- 4:39Speaker 2: brand his food business with dancing and that went viral
- 4:44Speaker 2: and like a lot of the musicians and all that.
- 4:46Speaker 2: So he's a young entrepreneur coming out of Baltimore, So
- 4:50Speaker 2: this is gonna be an exciting story.
- 4:52Speaker 3: His story was just so compelling. When we said when
- 4:55Speaker 3: we went to the spot, we were just like yo.
- 4:57Speaker 6: Man, as we eat in the food that was delicious,
- 4:59Speaker 6: by the way, it was just like, yo, we gotta
- 5:01Speaker 6: get this kid up here.
- 5:01Speaker 3: Man, y'all for coming man.
- 5:03Speaker 5: You know, uh, I always say, never ever trust a
- 5:06Speaker 5: skinny chef. You know, one bite tastes like love. But
- 5:09Speaker 5: I had to get y'all get that one bite, man.
- 5:11Speaker 3: That's all we needed.
- 5:11Speaker 2: So all right, so can we can we take it
- 5:13Speaker 2: back from the beginning? All right? So what's your story?
- 5:15Speaker 2: How do you how do you get involved in in
- 5:18Speaker 2: food in the food industry, and what's your what's your
- 5:20Speaker 2: what's your backstory coming from Baltimore, what's your story?
- 5:22Speaker 5: How it is? Just like you know, when I was
- 5:24Speaker 5: at your podcast in DC, when I met y'all there,
- 5:28Speaker 5: like I met my man, Ash Cash, he said, from
- 5:30Speaker 5: cheese and chips, you know, sixty dollars to six figures.
- 5:35Speaker 5: So I started, I started off, broke, started off. I
- 5:38Speaker 5: ain't hand, I don't know what to do. She got
- 5:40Speaker 5: out of hogh Schital I got out Jan fifteenth, twenty sixteen.
- 5:44Speaker 5: I got out of I got out of high school.
- 5:46Speaker 5: So I'm like, what's next for me? What's next? I say,
- 5:50Speaker 5: you know, I had to bag of weed. I'm ready
- 5:52Speaker 5: jug the weed off, get a half of Baby the Money.
- 5:55Speaker 5: And I was on your Then I was on Instagram.
- 5:58Speaker 5: I always say your is hitting your daily routine. Every day.
- 6:02Speaker 5: I'm on social media every day. I'm looking at different people.
- 6:05Speaker 5: So I got on the Food Network channel. I seen
- 6:08Speaker 5: the play the nachos. I said, I can make that.
- 6:12Speaker 5: It wasn't just an ordinary nachos though, like you just
- 6:14Speaker 5: see nachos. It was like a crazy blend. And I
- 6:17Speaker 5: was like, I can put that together. I can make that.
- 6:19Speaker 5: So I went in my neighborhood, and I'm just telling
- 6:21Speaker 5: people like, ooh, I'm ready, s I'm making some nachos.
- 6:23Speaker 5: Y'all want something, y'all gonna buy something. Everybody like, yeah,
- 6:26Speaker 5: a little spot cull Glover, East Baltimore. So I'm like,
- 6:29Speaker 5: y'all gonna buy something. I be like, man, come on,
- 6:31Speaker 5: make them I need though. So they were so hype
- 6:33Speaker 5: because I burned the energy too. One thing I love
- 6:35Speaker 5: is energy, so they love my energy. And I made
- 6:38Speaker 5: the food. I went to get this hold up, let
- 6:40Speaker 5: me go brun it back. I went to get to
- 6:42Speaker 5: trades my aunt. And when I got to trades my aunt,
- 6:44Speaker 5: I went nuts with the recipe. When nuts to the recipe,
- 6:47Speaker 5: I started July to fifteen, twenty sixteen, only had sixty
- 6:50Speaker 5: dollars to my name, sixty dollars. Walk to the market,
- 6:54Speaker 5: grabbed the food, put the nacho together real good. I
- 6:57Speaker 5: was like, what, I'm a car list. It's a banger,
- 7:00Speaker 5: not your bangers.
- 7:01Speaker 3: So you're talking about like literally like the iron trade
- 7:04Speaker 3: that like if I put the foil on, like you
- 7:05Speaker 3: didn't even have that first.
- 7:06Speaker 5: I ain't have nothing. I just had a bowl that
- 7:09Speaker 5: you buy a tortilla. Those doritos in it. Yeah, adding
- 7:16Speaker 5: met ed the kso and I got to put a
- 7:18Speaker 5: special sort.
- 7:20Speaker 3: We're gonna get into that.
- 7:21Speaker 5: We wanna tell you about the sauce. So when I
- 7:24Speaker 5: put the sauce in there, it was a bang of
- 7:26Speaker 5: for real, it started like that. So you straight out
- 7:28Speaker 5: the house, the house, so you got the tray, you
- 7:30Speaker 5: got that. Now you just walking outside like yo, nachos
- 7:33Speaker 5: is here. So I mind you went to the neighborhood,
- 7:36Speaker 5: be five. So I branded myself. I marked myself with five.
- 7:39Speaker 5: Went mind you straight out the house, no hot water,
- 7:41Speaker 5: no gas on. So we really in a band though
- 7:44Speaker 5: I'm in my baby mama house, a band of baby
- 7:46Speaker 5: still in her stomach and the oven. I had to
- 7:48Speaker 5: come up with come kind of hustle. Hustle is how
- 7:50Speaker 5: you used to carry your tree, life experience, how you
- 7:52Speaker 5: survived through life every day. That's how I look at hustle.
- 7:56Speaker 3: I mean, your story goes bad further though, go.
- 7:59Speaker 5: Back further from like how I grew up. You know,
- 8:02Speaker 5: I ain't grew up with love. I grew up with struggle.
- 8:04Speaker 5: I grew up with struggle. No structure, you know, foster
- 8:07Speaker 5: care from three to six, my brother as he introduced
- 8:09Speaker 5: me to my mom. When I was six years old,
- 8:12Speaker 5: he stole me out to foster care at home, the
- 8:13Speaker 5: married couple that we was through foster care. He stole
- 8:16Speaker 5: me out of there, introduced me to my mom. Shout
- 8:18Speaker 5: out the big cat, you feel me? He introduced me
- 8:21Speaker 5: to my mother. And when he introduced my mother, I'm like,
- 8:23Speaker 5: all right, this is a mom. You feel me? Not
- 8:26Speaker 5: saying this a mom. I just never under the mother before.
- 8:30Speaker 5: I grew up with no father anyway, So when I
- 8:33Speaker 5: first met a lady that, oh this mom, Okay, she
- 8:36Speaker 5: was abused to the substance. So my stepfather was on
- 8:40Speaker 5: her life. They want us from they you know, went
- 8:42Speaker 5: to the courts. They want us back, me and my
- 8:43Speaker 5: brothers and sisters. So when they want us, I started
- 8:46Speaker 5: going to my mother house I was six years old.
- 8:49Speaker 5: From there, she was abused to the substance, getting the
- 8:51Speaker 5: hind things of that nature. Tool box locked the door.
- 8:55Speaker 5: No curfee for me. I was outside the trenches.
- 8:58Speaker 3: Six six years old.
- 8:59Speaker 5: I caught the nickname kill, called the nickname killer. A
- 9:02Speaker 5: friend of mine's, John B. Recipes, he gave me the
- 9:05Speaker 5: nickname killer. I was just a bad little minace. I
- 9:06Speaker 5: was a bad little kid in the community and minister
- 9:08Speaker 5: of society. So it's real negative into the streets. And
- 9:13Speaker 5: the name carried me to now.
- 9:15Speaker 6: Yeah, And I mean when we spoke, it was like
- 9:18Speaker 6: usually when the kid is like the kid, don't act
- 9:21Speaker 6: that acts up all the time.
- 9:22Speaker 3: It's like, that's what the neighborhood loves that. Now you
- 9:25Speaker 3: become a young boy for everybody.
- 9:26Speaker 5: Yeah, so I was. I was everybody's son. I was
- 9:28Speaker 5: everybody's son everybody. I was everybody first kid.
- 9:30Speaker 3: I like that, you said son, that's a New York.
- 9:32Speaker 5: Yeah. I was everybody first kid before anybody started making kids.
- 9:37Speaker 5: I was everybody's favorite little young and yo, he bad yo,
- 9:39Speaker 5: but I won't go take them shop because he's dirty. Yeah.
- 9:43Speaker 5: So I was everybody a little young and they took
- 9:46Speaker 5: me out, you know. But I always knew morals. I
- 9:48Speaker 5: always knew not to still always knew how to respect
- 9:51Speaker 5: the woman. You know them queens that you see God,
- 9:54Speaker 5: respect her. I can't call out her name. I gotta
- 9:57Speaker 5: respect her, but do that trial right now. I had
- 10:00Speaker 5: my second friend in life, Cuffey, so my got coffee.
- 10:04Speaker 5: He always like like he snup me in his house
- 10:07Speaker 5: before and I was staying there. You know, my house
- 10:09Speaker 5: wasn't no structure. When it rain, we felt that a rat.
- 10:12Speaker 5: We lived through that. When the rat ran through the
- 10:14Speaker 5: we was in a real vik. We was in the
- 10:15Speaker 5: we call it vics the bandole. They was like the
- 10:19Speaker 5: real real vegant home. Were sleeping in there and on
- 10:22Speaker 5: the bed. When it ring, we felt that once again
- 10:24Speaker 5: I seen the ring. I can see the sky looking up. Yeah.
- 10:27Speaker 5: So my second friend, he always sleupp me in his house.
- 10:31Speaker 5: My second friend of life, Cuffey was like six years old.
- 10:34Speaker 5: This boy posed to had no company. You hear me.
- 10:36Speaker 5: He sneaking me through the back door, Dug Biggie chip ver.
- 10:38Speaker 5: He scared me him. He sneaked me in there. I'm
- 10:41Speaker 5: staying with him. You know me, I ain't had nothing.
- 10:44Speaker 5: So I stole his clothes, stole his shoes. Yeah, but
- 10:49Speaker 5: I put it back when I came back in the house.
- 10:52Speaker 5: It was a little dusty. But from there, that second
- 10:55Speaker 5: friend of life, man, he just we went so far
- 10:58Speaker 5: at I started his brand, notcho bangers, Like it was
- 11:00Speaker 5: a brand for me.
- 11:02Speaker 2: So what made you want to start? Not like coming
- 11:04Speaker 2: coming from from adverse circumstances and coming off the street corner.
- 11:08Speaker 2: What made you say, okay, I want to be an entrepreneur.
- 11:11Speaker 2: Did that just happen by accident?
- 11:13Speaker 5: It was I don't even know. I didn't know what
- 11:14Speaker 5: I was doing. I was just blind to the game.
- 11:16Speaker 5: I was blind to the lifestyle. I just had a
- 11:18Speaker 5: vision to do so, like your fortunes and your daily routine.
- 11:22Speaker 5: I'm on social media. I see a play the nachos.
- 11:25Speaker 5: I told myself, I can make them. I put it
- 11:27Speaker 5: together first. I started off with strat of cheese. I
- 11:30Speaker 5: don't even know how to really make the case so
- 11:32Speaker 5: real good, wipe it down. I was microwaven. My strength
- 11:34Speaker 5: at one point in time wasn't even something tan or
- 11:37Speaker 5: wasn't even grilling them. Just put the obay in a
- 11:39Speaker 5: butter bowl, put the stripping, the throw them in a microwave.
- 11:43Speaker 5: It's still a little tender when you buy it.
- 11:46Speaker 3: No, no culinary school needed, no.
- 11:48Speaker 5: School, no no school, No mother that taught me how
- 11:50Speaker 5: to cook, No grandmother that taught me how to cook
- 11:53Speaker 5: everything straight and learned from self?
- 11:54Speaker 2: Who taught you how to cook?
- 11:56Speaker 5: Myself? Like just trawling error. Yeah, try YouTube, you know
- 12:00Speaker 5: how to make noodles, and uh so I just put
- 12:02Speaker 5: the same season. I put in the noodles like I
- 12:05Speaker 5: think the steak season. Go ahead, oh old Bay putting
- 12:08Speaker 5: old band ahead. Oh yeah, it's a banger. So I
- 12:11Speaker 5: get to mix it up. And from there, you know,
- 12:13Speaker 5: I got the friends around. Shout out the young yankee
- 12:16Speaker 5: A one band. Uh they get to eat in my food.
- 12:18Speaker 5: He be like, bro, yeah, just the one in the
- 12:21Speaker 5: neighborhood approve of it had twelve customers in one day,
- 12:24Speaker 5: two hundred plus in one month.
- 12:26Speaker 2: That's the first. That's the first.
- 12:27Speaker 5: That's the first day.
- 12:28Speaker 2: So you start all all right, So you start off
- 12:30Speaker 2: you had sixty dollars and you said you had to
- 12:33Speaker 2: borrow sixty right, Oh you asked for all and never
- 12:35Speaker 2: cash that.
- 12:38Speaker 3: So high school.
- 12:38Speaker 5: I graduated high school. So we're going through the we're
- 12:41Speaker 5: doing the resume and stuff. Since you get out of hospital,
- 12:43Speaker 5: you want, I gotta get a job, a good one,
- 12:45Speaker 5: so the plumber. I got the plomba. All this time,
- 12:48Speaker 5: I went to school for one month. I graduated. I
- 12:50Speaker 5: went to school for one month.
- 12:52Speaker 3: Wait for well for the entree.
- 12:55Speaker 5: I went to school. Yeah, and then I played the streets.
- 12:58Speaker 5: So I really I was living through survival.
- 12:59Speaker 3: So, like you said, in total one month total, one month.
- 13:02Speaker 5: Basically I went for that last month in school.
- 13:05Speaker 2: For the finals for the last year, for your senior years,
- 13:08Speaker 2: last year.
- 13:09Speaker 5: So I got with the Goddess counselors. I linked with
- 13:12Speaker 5: the Goddess counsels. I linked up with the counselors like
- 13:14Speaker 5: you know, the administrators. That that was able to help me.
- 13:17Speaker 5: That was a I was a bad kid.
- 13:19Speaker 2: So you went to school for a month and graduated, still.
- 13:23Speaker 5: Had to pay my des They shut the school down
- 13:24Speaker 5: the same.
- 13:25Speaker 2: What did I what I say about public school easy
- 13:28Speaker 2: that that this doesn't help. I said, as long as
- 13:31Speaker 2: you as long as you showed up and then curse
- 13:33Speaker 2: to teach you out, you got to be.
- 13:34Speaker 3: But he didn't even show up.
- 13:36Speaker 5: He show up a graduated anything. I did see this this,
- 13:40Speaker 5: I paid the d's. I paid my four hundred dollars.
- 13:43Speaker 3: For like seeing trips and Captain Gown.
- 13:45Speaker 5: Get to the trips. They just want the money. They
- 13:48Speaker 5: wanted the money. I just paid. I paid the d's
- 13:50Speaker 5: and I graduated. So the education that I did get
- 13:53Speaker 5: out of there, the main thing I still learned from
- 13:55Speaker 5: high school is the five W. So the five WS.
- 13:57Speaker 5: Once I learned the five ws, it just took me
- 14:00Speaker 5: everywhere like what I wanted to deal in life.
- 14:02Speaker 2: So all right, so you asked the ball sixty dollars
- 14:04Speaker 2: to start the business.
- 14:05Speaker 5: D asks mebout sixty dollars. So my best friend we graduated.
- 14:09Speaker 5: I'm doing a faster for. I'm doing the resumes and stuff.
- 14:12Speaker 5: So we got to that fast for. I'm getting a
- 14:14Speaker 5: lord like bothered because I'm like my mother gotta come. Oh,
- 14:17Speaker 5: she definitely not coming.
- 14:19Speaker 3: They got usign the papers.
- 14:20Speaker 5: They got to sign the paper. So I'm like, man,
- 14:23Speaker 5: this ain't gonna work out. I said, you know what,
- 14:26Speaker 5: I ain't.
- 14:26Speaker 2: Paying no debt.
- 14:27Speaker 5: I'm gonna build my own depth. So I was always
- 14:28Speaker 5: looking at debt like it was money. So I was
- 14:30Speaker 5: like college, No, that ain't really for me. So for me,
- 14:34Speaker 5: I was like, man, I'm a ready started. I'm ready
- 14:35Speaker 5: started selling food on a grill. That was my main topic,
- 14:38Speaker 5: like sell food on the grill. I told my best
- 14:41Speaker 5: friend like, ma, I say, mar let me hold sixty dollars.
- 14:43Speaker 5: I got you, bro never gave me the sixty. Two
- 14:47Speaker 5: weeks later, I asked my baby mama. I asked my
- 14:50Speaker 5: child mother, can I borrow the sixty dollars? She gave
- 14:53Speaker 5: me sixty dollars and from there I made it.
- 14:56Speaker 2: So all right, so it comes up. So you make
- 14:58Speaker 2: this this dish and it becomes popular in your neighborhood.
- 15:01Speaker 5: It becomes popular neighborhood, people.
- 15:03Speaker 2: Start buying it up, and you get a consistent flow
- 15:05Speaker 2: of people that's.
- 15:06Speaker 5: Got assistant customers. So pull up to your house, they
- 15:09Speaker 5: put up to my credit is where I live at?
- 15:10Speaker 2: Okay, so all right, walk me through the first month.
- 15:13Speaker 2: How's this first month? Player?
- 15:14Speaker 5: Like?
- 15:14Speaker 2: How are you?
- 15:15Speaker 5: Like?
- 15:16Speaker 2: How are you getting orders? Are they texting you? DM?
- 15:18Speaker 2: And U like, what's it looking like?
- 15:20Speaker 5: The DM? The phone calls? So I had the Instagram
- 15:23Speaker 5: banging the phone calls, you know, the walkthrough, just because
- 15:26Speaker 5: I started the neighborhood first. It was just in there
- 15:28Speaker 5: I walked.
- 15:29Speaker 2: So how old are you at eighteen? I was nineteen nineteen.
- 15:31Speaker 5: Nineteen, straight out of high school nineteen July of fifteen,
- 15:34Speaker 5: twenty sixteen. So that first datum twelve customers people that
- 15:38Speaker 5: I post, I promoted on Instagram. The main ni how started.
- 15:42Speaker 5: I took pictures with the customers like this with a
- 15:43Speaker 5: good smile, and I posted on everybody that shot with me.
- 15:47Speaker 5: I took a picture with them, and I took a
- 15:49Speaker 5: picture of them, and I used social media as that
- 15:51Speaker 5: platform as my documentary of life, every day life, my documentary.
- 15:55Speaker 5: So I looked at social media and I put every
- 15:57Speaker 5: picture everybody that shot with me with that day and
- 16:01Speaker 5: through the whole month, I took a picture and post them.
- 16:03Speaker 5: So by me getting hot, they was getting hot too
- 16:06Speaker 5: because they were like, oh, he went that's my uncle,
- 16:08Speaker 5: that's my aunt, that's my little sister, that's my kids.
- 16:11Speaker 5: So everybody was like, I got to see what that's about.
- 16:14Speaker 2: So what at what point do you really start to
- 16:17Speaker 2: like like blow it up and.
- 16:20Speaker 5: Google with six figures?
- 16:21Speaker 6: Was because I had too much money in the shoe box,
- 16:24Speaker 6: So you're taking the revenue in right straight.
- 16:26Speaker 3: At that time, were charging five hours for taco, no.
- 16:28Speaker 5: This, twelve dollars for a notcho. It was no wrap
- 16:31Speaker 5: or not.
- 16:32Speaker 2: Straight straight cash, straight cash. You didn't have a credit
- 16:35Speaker 2: card process or.
- 16:37Speaker 5: Somebody told me go to Walmart by a little square thing.
- 16:40Speaker 5: I hit the square up on my and the square
- 16:43Speaker 5: up on my joint phone to my phone starts swiping.
- 16:45Speaker 2: Cards to how me customers? You averaging per day?
- 16:48Speaker 5: Oh per day?
- 16:50Speaker 3: Wow?
- 16:51Speaker 5: I couldn't even count. I don't even I couldn't even count. Man,
- 16:55Speaker 5: I was saying, like I can tell you, we was
- 16:57Speaker 5: making ten bands a week, ten thousand a week, ten
- 17:00Speaker 5: thousand a week. Saw me this by myself at the time,
- 17:03Speaker 5: just straight out out the really out the band. So
- 17:07Speaker 5: you're making ten thousand a week at nineteen years old,
- 17:09Speaker 5: you got you got a nice thing going. And then
- 17:12Speaker 5: at what point do you get the food truck? So
- 17:14Speaker 5: I got a full van. I was still out of
- 17:15Speaker 5: a caravan. I was out of regular little van banging
- 17:19Speaker 5: around the neighborhood. First, like late night, I ain't closed.
- 17:22Speaker 5: We always opened up from six pm to twelve am.
- 17:25Speaker 5: So I opened up late. And that's some times everybody right,
- 17:27Speaker 5: get off of work for the boom summertime here, so
- 17:31Speaker 5: six or twelve at the twelve o'clock I did the
- 17:34Speaker 5: night life. So I started doing the parties and stuff.
- 17:35Speaker 3: So so you're pulling up the van after the club club.
- 17:38Speaker 5: This is a good because I was pulling up in
- 17:40Speaker 5: the van in the trenches where they where they selling
- 17:43Speaker 5: the hard drugs. That were they selling drugs at I
- 17:45Speaker 5: was pulling up on I was pulling up on the
- 17:46Speaker 5: boys that was on the block. Because they ain't leaving.
- 17:48Speaker 5: They making their money right there. So I feed them
- 17:50Speaker 5: right there with the nachos.
- 17:52Speaker 2: Now, I've seen it on Instagram. I saw it a
- 17:54Speaker 2: year ago because I'm observing when you when you when
- 17:57Speaker 2: you hit us. I looked at your page and I
- 18:00Speaker 2: look back like twenty seven weeks and I saw him like,
- 18:03Speaker 2: all right, these kids heavy in the streets right now
- 18:05Speaker 2: and then. So but the thing I like about this
- 18:08Speaker 2: is that you have no formal training. But it's like
- 18:12Speaker 2: sometimes common sense goes a lot further than just you know, college, right,
- 18:17Speaker 2: So it's like you know, if you know, if you
- 18:20Speaker 2: ever been to a club, you know that people are
- 18:22Speaker 2: hungry after the club they eat, you want to go
- 18:24Speaker 2: to diners. That's why in New York, like the food
- 18:26Speaker 2: trucks are real big. So it's like you have your
- 18:29Speaker 2: own makeshift food truck, and you know what time the
- 18:32Speaker 2: club closes, you know where people are at at three
- 18:35Speaker 2: o'clock in the morning.
- 18:37Speaker 6: After you've consume all that liquid, you've got to have
- 18:39Speaker 6: some food in your stomach. Right, So that's what I said,
- 18:42Speaker 6: Like Max Maxwell said this, but this is true.
- 18:44Speaker 5: Man.
- 18:44Speaker 3: You took an imperfect action. You had no idea what
- 18:47Speaker 3: you were going to do. I'm just gonna do it.
- 18:48Speaker 5: I'm just going to do it, you know. Fearless. I
- 18:52Speaker 5: was just feeless because the manage. I'm still trapping out
- 18:54Speaker 5: my house. I'm in Baltimore City. You know, I'm happy
- 18:58Speaker 5: my name was good enough. And that lifestyle, you know,
- 19:01Speaker 5: growing up that that's what helped me out as well,
- 19:04Speaker 5: because people respecting me from from the lifestyle growing up,
- 19:08Speaker 5: you know, because I have respect and I gave him respect.
- 19:10Speaker 5: So growing up they had that respect that the one
- 19:13Speaker 5: robbed the house anything like that, We was good that
- 19:15Speaker 5: and I all praised me to a law. That's the
- 19:17Speaker 5: biggest thing, you know, got to put a law first.
- 19:20Speaker 5: I was praying. I was on my dean. I praised
- 19:22Speaker 5: so much by me praying a lot. That's what God
- 19:25Speaker 5: dank is connected. So I always walked fearless. The only
- 19:28Speaker 5: fear I had was a fear of a law.
- 19:30Speaker 2: So after the after the truck, right, I was the van.
- 19:35Speaker 2: Don't even get so after So you got the van,
- 19:37Speaker 2: You got the van. Now you you you're selling out
- 19:41Speaker 2: of your house and you your mobile.
- 19:43Speaker 5: So I'm preparing it wasn't It wasn't. No hot plate
- 19:45Speaker 5: in the van and nothing. We just got a van,
- 19:46Speaker 5: got a wrap with the Nacho Bangal logo. I'm preparing
- 19:49Speaker 5: the food and I'm preparing the food and I'm putting
- 19:52Speaker 5: it into the inner van, so you you're prepping like for.
- 19:57Speaker 2: So it wasn't really it wasn't really a food truck.
- 19:59Speaker 2: It was just the.
- 20:02Speaker 5: It was like it was like advertising what I like
- 20:04Speaker 5: going to a billboard. All we got doing the marketing
- 20:07Speaker 5: on Instagram. I'm advertising on the van. So the police
- 20:11Speaker 5: either beat the horn, beat beat what y'all got in there?
- 20:13Speaker 5: Be hungry?
- 20:14Speaker 3: They nothing that is hungry.
- 20:18Speaker 5: So that's built our clientele with the offices and things,
- 20:20Speaker 5: built our client on the streets because well that's not
- 20:23Speaker 5: your bang up and pulled up over beat the horn.
- 20:25Speaker 5: So you know, we were just feeding people.
- 20:27Speaker 2: I got one for you, shout out a hot bad
- 20:29Speaker 2: giving you the food on the road, pull up to
- 20:33Speaker 2: you in traffic and we ain't know what that station
- 20:34Speaker 2: with me, were just driving catch you in traffic literally literally.
- 20:41Speaker 2: All right. So the next time we're gonna talk about
- 20:43Speaker 2: the scaling model, ghost restaurants and where you go from there,
- 20:47Speaker 2: dance moves as well. Here we get to that, all right.
- 20:50Speaker 2: So okay. So you start out the bendo you you're
- 20:57Speaker 2: you're selling hot plates. Yeah, and.
- 21:02Speaker 5: The hand not choked bangers.
- 21:03Speaker 3: Hey.
- 21:04Speaker 2: Then and then you get the van. You wrap it
- 21:06Speaker 2: with your your logo you put put before the van.
- 21:10Speaker 5: It was a regular little caravevan. So first I'm gonna
- 21:13Speaker 5: shure have my mentor. I got two mentors in life,
- 21:15Speaker 5: one Uncle T. Number two is Dark Falcon. You have
- 21:19Speaker 5: to be real careful of people you call your mentors. Yeah,
- 21:24Speaker 5: you have to be careful when you call your mentors
- 21:25Speaker 5: because they gotta live up to a lifestyle that you
- 21:28Speaker 5: actually can live by and follow through. Uncle Tea is
- 21:31Speaker 5: my life coach. Dirk is my financial advisor. He's my mentor.
- 21:37Speaker 5: He's everything I need as being the entrepreneur in the
- 21:39Speaker 5: restaurant industry. So I go to Dark Falcon for everything
- 21:42Speaker 5: in that in that nature, and Uncle T I go
- 21:44Speaker 5: for everything that I need. You know, how to be
- 21:46Speaker 5: a father, how to how to maintain you know, my health,
- 21:50Speaker 5: my wealth. You know Uncle Tea and Uncle Tea his
- 21:54Speaker 5: daughter came.
- 21:55Speaker 3: To the crib.
- 21:57Speaker 5: She's like, I want some nachos, and he was like,
- 21:59Speaker 5: where out the house? I'm not going in there house
- 22:02Speaker 5: like a trap like a trap house. He was like, no,
- 22:06Speaker 5: they sell nachos in there. So Uncle t came in.
- 22:08Speaker 5: He came, He came in my spot, him and his daughter,
- 22:12Speaker 5: and he was like, wow, I see how this kid
- 22:14Speaker 5: got it. So he see how I got the got
- 22:17Speaker 5: everybody in line waiting on their food and stuff. The
- 22:19Speaker 5: line is literally lined up out the house all the
- 22:22Speaker 5: way inside to the kitchen. So he come in and
- 22:25Speaker 5: see the operation. He bring his best friend Tony with him.
- 22:28Speaker 5: So before they leave, I'm like, Uncle Tee, look, look,
- 22:30Speaker 5: hold up, let me get these people out of here
- 22:32Speaker 5: before you leave me. Let me get these people out
- 22:33Speaker 5: of there. Don't leave me yet. So he waited. You know,
- 22:36Speaker 5: I made him extra nachos because they waited for the
- 22:37Speaker 5: wait his bestroom like, man, what are some lamp chops?
- 22:41Speaker 5: I didn't want no food out of those trap house.
- 22:43Speaker 5: So I'm like, man, listen, it is the best nachos ever.
- 22:45Speaker 5: So Uncle Tea and them they waited for me. I
- 22:47Speaker 5: told I ran Uncle tat I got you out of
- 22:49Speaker 5: the kitchen. I said, man, look, man might get evictim.
- 22:51Speaker 5: Man like you don't got no house, no store front
- 22:53Speaker 5: or nothing. Uncle Tea like, look, my best friend Tony.
- 22:56Speaker 5: He just got past all the expections and days you
- 22:59Speaker 5: can ask you your restaurant in here. So Uncle Tea
- 23:03Speaker 5: told me the time to come the next day. I
- 23:04Speaker 5: was there before everybody got there. I would have so dedicated.
- 23:07Speaker 5: I had that that hustling me, like I gotta get here.
- 23:10Speaker 5: So they let me in the storefront. I came in
- 23:12Speaker 5: there with with three thousand dollars, came up front with
- 23:17Speaker 5: three thousand dollars, you know, walked to the storefront while
- 23:21Speaker 5: he was ready to getting victied because I wasn't paying
- 23:23Speaker 5: nobody else's debt that was on her mother. Like, I
- 23:26Speaker 5: wasn't paying nobody else's debt. I wanted to Yeah, this
- 23:29Speaker 5: is my child mother, and she was still pregnant at
- 23:31Speaker 5: the time. I'm like, look, we rather get an apartment.
- 23:33Speaker 5: I'm not paying for your family debt at all. I'm
- 23:36Speaker 5: getting about here. We got a room in here.
- 23:38Speaker 3: That's it.
- 23:39Speaker 5: We're getting about of here. So she was with whatever
- 23:42Speaker 5: I was with at the time. So Uncle t was like, man,
- 23:47Speaker 5: I like you kid, so tell tell you this is
- 23:50Speaker 5: not his store. This is his best friend's store. So
- 23:52Speaker 5: his best friend like, man, you're not put that kid
- 23:54Speaker 5: in my store. So I got babysitting for like good
- 23:57Speaker 5: seven months before they either gave me keys, So I
- 24:00Speaker 5: had to wait for them to open the door, had
- 24:02Speaker 5: to they had to lock the door behind me.
- 24:03Speaker 3: But they let you have the store.
- 24:04Speaker 5: They let me have the store only opened up from
- 24:06Speaker 5: six to twelve though, the same time when they when
- 24:09Speaker 5: they when they were closed, when they were closed, right, Yeah,
- 24:12Speaker 5: they did the breakfast time. So they did breakfast from
- 24:14Speaker 5: like nine to nine to five.
- 24:19Speaker 6: You know.
- 24:19Speaker 2: So you open up, you open up a restaurant pretty
- 24:21Speaker 2: much make shift restaurant and somebody else's restaurant.
- 24:24Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 24:24Speaker 2: So I was like I was using their kitchen.
- 24:26Speaker 5: I was using it, paying them around. I was playing
- 24:29Speaker 5: one thousand a month.
- 24:29Speaker 2: Okay, but you can only use it at night time.
- 24:32Speaker 2: They didn't trust you, then I trust me. They had
- 24:34Speaker 2: to open the door, close the door.
- 24:35Speaker 5: They had to lock it closed because look, you got
- 24:37Speaker 5: a young kid, nineteen years old. Yeah. I don't know
- 24:40Speaker 5: what this kid into, but you know, I had to
- 24:42Speaker 5: build my trust with from now, and I built that
- 24:44Speaker 5: relationship with you.
- 24:45Speaker 2: So how do you how do you meet Dery Falcon?
- 24:47Speaker 5: So, Drek Falcons, I met Dark out of Sharif brother
- 24:49Speaker 5: Sharif Man good brother, good Muslim brother, own a lot
- 24:53Speaker 5: of restaurants. His story is similar to minds how he
- 24:55Speaker 5: started his restaurants and his empire and the restaurant industry.
- 24:59Speaker 5: So I'm like, so he ain't got a lot of
- 25:01Speaker 5: time on his hand, so he couldn't really meant to me.
- 25:04Speaker 5: So Dark he passed me to dark Man. Dark was
- 25:07Speaker 5: just like inspired ration. I'm like, I can relate. He
- 25:11Speaker 5: was relatable around my age, talk, my tone, low key
- 25:15Speaker 5: with everything. He in his vibe, in his vibe, and
- 25:19Speaker 5: i felt this vibe and his energy, and I'm like, man,
- 25:21Speaker 5: this is what I'm trying to do in life.
- 25:23Speaker 3: They need.
- 25:24Speaker 5: The main thing he taught was system, save yourself, time,
- 25:27Speaker 5: energy and money. Taught me system.
- 25:30Speaker 3: You said when he walked into your store, he was like, Yo,
- 25:33Speaker 3: throw everything out.
- 25:33Speaker 5: Yeah, throw everything out. He walked to my store, throw
- 25:35Speaker 5: everything out. This is not what you're doing.
- 25:37Speaker 3: This is not how you wanna at that time. What's
- 25:39Speaker 3: the story looking like?
- 25:40Speaker 5: Your store looking like a trap? I saw, I knew
- 25:43Speaker 5: it was the house, so a lot of customers in there,
- 25:46Speaker 5: you know. So Dark was like, I'm gonna come back
- 25:48Speaker 5: on a day when it's not open. What did you close?
- 25:51Speaker 5: I sound like I'm a little bit don I'm gonna
- 25:54Speaker 5: come back. What did you not open? What did you
- 25:56Speaker 5: close on? That's what were gonna come so mind you,
- 25:59Speaker 5: I ain't know the problem of margin, not the business.
- 26:01Speaker 5: I ain't know how much portion to put it in
- 26:03Speaker 5: our chows. I ain't know nothing. So Dirk came in
- 26:06Speaker 5: there for free and scaled my restaurant.
- 26:09Speaker 3: So you just literally out here doing did you even
- 26:11Speaker 3: know what a profit margin was?
- 26:13Speaker 5: That? I don't know what a profit margin was. I
- 26:15Speaker 5: ain't know no numbers or anything. That's why it's good.
- 26:17Speaker 5: The networking could I don't even know what networking was. Literally,
- 26:21Speaker 5: I just knew you, all right, that's a customer that
- 26:23Speaker 5: was supporting. But then when I got with Dirk, I
- 26:25Speaker 5: learned what the consumers was, what the supporter was. You know,
- 26:28Speaker 5: cosumans is someone who buy supporters and people that's going
- 26:31Speaker 5: to actually tell you what you're doing good and what
- 26:33Speaker 5: you're doing wrong and how you're able to scale this
- 26:35Speaker 5: and be better. So one thing, Darky came in, he
- 26:39Speaker 5: scaled the restaurant. He's like, you gotta make some changes
- 26:41Speaker 5: in here. You had to really build things, you know,
- 26:44Speaker 5: portions things that nature. You have to really learn how
- 26:47Speaker 5: to portion your items, how to really scale it. And
- 26:50Speaker 5: once I learned how to scale it, it changed my life.
- 26:52Speaker 2: So like, what do he like? What's some of the
- 26:54Speaker 2: things that like? The key things that he taught you.
- 26:56Speaker 5: The key thing he taught me was the right down
- 27:00Speaker 5: the measurements. The measurements that the meat, you know, six
- 27:03Speaker 5: ounces for that, that's the bang of three ounces for
- 27:06Speaker 5: the chicken rap. You know this, how you scale to
- 27:08Speaker 5: put this amount of strimping there? Because I was feeding
- 27:10Speaker 5: them with shrimp strip? How do you want to get
- 27:12Speaker 5: that my seatpood off for three dollars right right?
- 27:14Speaker 3: You're thinking, like your overhead gonna be real high doing this.
- 27:16Speaker 5: So I had a I got a nice easy menu
- 27:22Speaker 5: like the like my food cause he taught me the
- 27:24Speaker 5: food costs of things like bro your food cost is low,
- 27:28Speaker 5: you're giving too much out, You're just doing the mods.
- 27:32Speaker 5: And I'm like, man, I don't know this lifestyle. I
- 27:34Speaker 5: just know how to hustle. I know how to trap,
- 27:37Speaker 5: take a risk and prosper. That's all I knew at
- 27:38Speaker 5: the time, take a risk and proce with trap. But
- 27:42Speaker 5: that helped me how to grow man get rid of
- 27:44Speaker 5: your old wage.
- 27:45Speaker 3: So that at that time, right, you was doing ten
- 27:47Speaker 3: thousand in the house. Now you got the store front. Yeah,
- 27:50Speaker 3: we're getting more.
- 27:51Speaker 5: So maj is over here now. So you got BG,
- 27:55Speaker 5: You got employees. You have a rent that I didn't
- 27:58Speaker 5: add no problem when I was dolls. So all this
- 28:01Speaker 5: stuff is new to me, another paid rent. I ain't
- 28:03Speaker 5: had my own apartment or nothing yet. Yeah, employees, that's crazy.
- 28:08Speaker 5: I had some employees, man, shout the rock cam Taja.
- 28:13Speaker 5: I had some good employees.
- 28:14Speaker 1: Man.
- 28:14Speaker 5: You know, it was actually customers at one point in time,
- 28:18Speaker 5: and I made my employee. I told one girl how
- 28:20Speaker 5: to run a cash resident. We ain't even had no
- 28:22Speaker 5: cash RESI it was the money in the box. Still,
- 28:24Speaker 5: I'm in the store with the dollars, going to buy
- 28:26Speaker 5: dollars here, files here, ten's here, twenties here, hundreds right here,
- 28:30Speaker 5: undneath this other box.
- 28:31Speaker 3: With the calculator, with the caula, every item like that.
- 28:36Speaker 5: You know, she liked that. She don't know anything else,
- 28:39Speaker 5: just the cash, right, So I told her to meet
- 28:40Speaker 5: the cash region and make the juicus for the people.
- 28:43Speaker 5: And that's how we're going to rock out.
- 28:44Speaker 2: So at what point do you leave there because you
- 28:46Speaker 2: got your own You got your own spot at one
- 28:48Speaker 2: point too, right, what restaurant, it's not a restaurant storefront.
- 28:51Speaker 5: No, this is my storefront, just the one so atterwards
- 28:55Speaker 5: the guys and stuff. Mister Tony, he had a crew
- 28:58Speaker 5: in there for the breakfast time and lun lunch and
- 29:01Speaker 5: almost dinner.
- 29:02Speaker 2: Then I came in to ye're pretty much sharing her
- 29:05Speaker 2: two restaurants restaurants in one.
- 29:07Speaker 5: Yeah, but they failed first and tip and learning, so
- 29:10Speaker 5: I learned off of them. I understand Cashy's acronyms failed
- 29:13Speaker 5: first and tip and learning, so once they fail, I
- 29:16Speaker 5: had to realize that could happen. The restaurant closed the
- 29:20Speaker 5: yeah they pa So I'm like I came back to it.
- 29:22Speaker 5: Another problem. It is like Tony, look, man, I know
- 29:25Speaker 5: y'all ain't really doing good. Can I get up there?
- 29:27Speaker 3: Can I get that? You want to take that time?
- 29:29Speaker 3: Can I get that time?
- 29:31Speaker 5: So it was a big hump for me, like all right,
- 29:32Speaker 5: because a lot of people couldn't get to me at
- 29:34Speaker 5: six now, so how much is it right now? The
- 29:36Speaker 5: rent went up a thousand dollars, But you got it.
- 29:39Speaker 5: It's your spot twenty five everything mins, whatever, that whatever
- 29:42Speaker 5: I want to do, I open up on twelve. So
- 29:43Speaker 5: I opened up from twelter twelve.
- 29:45Speaker 6: But that took sixty seven months of trust plus them failing.
- 29:48Speaker 6: And now you're saying, let me, I'm gonna take some
- 29:51Speaker 6: opportunity maximizing.
- 29:53Speaker 2: So what happens?
- 29:53Speaker 5: All right?
- 29:54Speaker 2: So you're up, You're open. It's your spot now, twelve
- 29:57Speaker 2: to twelve, your show. How's how's it working for?
- 30:00Speaker 5: It was going amazing. It was it still is amazing.
- 30:03Speaker 5: It was going amazing.
- 30:04Speaker 1: My man.
- 30:04Speaker 5: It every day I'm cooking up, I get to see
- 30:07Speaker 5: that lunch crowd. So we need a hospital, John Hawkins.
- 30:10Speaker 5: So I get to see that crowd come. I get
- 30:12Speaker 5: to see all these this new crowd come, so that
- 30:15Speaker 5: bring that fresh money. I wasn't never saying out of
- 30:18Speaker 5: the house, how old were you?
- 30:19Speaker 2: Then?
- 30:19Speaker 5: I was twenty twenty yep, so twenty twenty years old,
- 30:25Speaker 5: So I'm looking at twenty years old. I'm in the
- 30:27Speaker 5: kitchen every day. You know, it got overwhelmed. And then
- 30:30Speaker 5: because I got so many cousins, so I had to start,
- 30:32Speaker 5: you know, hiring people and things that nature. So coffee
- 30:35Speaker 5: was always shotow I got coffee. He was always promoting
- 30:38Speaker 5: and things. So I'm trying to give him money like
- 30:39Speaker 5: couve teen's two hundred.
- 30:40Speaker 2: Man.
- 30:40Speaker 5: I love how you promote. He ain't wanted no money.
- 30:42Speaker 5: Keep your money, bro, so coffee to start coming there,
- 30:45Speaker 5: giving me your hand with things. Then he turned to
- 30:47Speaker 5: my partner.
- 30:49Speaker 3: Yeah just from the ground.
- 30:50Speaker 2: Yeah, so all right. So that was two thousand and fifteen, seventeen,
- 30:56Speaker 2: twenty seventeen. So twenty seventeen, you up and running and
- 31:00Speaker 2: like what are you selling? Like what's now? What's you have?
- 31:03Speaker 5: The Nacho bangers? You have the Bang of raps, you
- 31:05Speaker 5: have the Bang of Juice.
- 31:07Speaker 3: I love it.
- 31:09Speaker 5: You had to like bang of juice. No, we ain't
- 31:12Speaker 5: even the tacos yet, so we had the Bang of Juice.
- 31:16Speaker 5: It was just three items on the menu. Then uh
- 31:19Speaker 5: Maji ran the cross dark dark say six items. He
- 31:23Speaker 5: taught me how to measure my items out, itemized my
- 31:26Speaker 5: items on the menion. Because I looked at his minion,
- 31:28Speaker 5: I'm like, it's a little bit of stuff, but it's good.
- 31:32Speaker 5: So I looked at his meniu and I started like,
- 31:34Speaker 5: all right, look, I'm start with six items. Now six items,
- 31:37Speaker 5: so I put the rap I put the Nacho banger first,
- 31:41Speaker 5: made the raps, the juice, the cheese steaks, the coffee bulls,
- 31:45Speaker 5: and the fries. So I made six items. What's the
- 31:48Speaker 5: cuffy ball? The couffee balls, like a homemade mashed potatoes,
- 31:53Speaker 5: real steak, not the fake steak. The bowl that I
- 31:55Speaker 5: carry you tos caso in there with the sauce every day.
- 32:00Speaker 5: May well extra love, you know what I'm saying. May
- 32:03Speaker 5: extual love, love, extual love. So when you bite this comfortable?
- 32:07Speaker 2: So all right? So you so so now you still
- 32:09Speaker 2: got you still got the po van at that time.
- 32:11Speaker 5: No, yeah, I still got the van at this time. Yeah.
- 32:12Speaker 2: So all right, so now you got delivering too.
- 32:14Speaker 5: Yeah, we're delivering as well. So now you gots we
- 32:16Speaker 5: delivered like to events and things and you ain't delivered
- 32:19Speaker 5: like this regular on the street because we both was
- 32:20Speaker 5: in the kitchen.
- 32:21Speaker 3: Then.
- 32:21Speaker 2: So now you got the van and you got the store.
- 32:24Speaker 2: How much money you bringing in a month from the
- 32:26Speaker 2: whole operation?
- 32:27Speaker 5: Man? So ten ten a week. We was being in
- 32:32Speaker 5: like a good fitty k forty forty forty a month,
- 32:37Speaker 5: forty a month. Yeah, twenty years old, winning, net winning,
- 32:41Speaker 5: doing what's supporting? Now?
- 32:43Speaker 2: So after the after your expence it how much you
- 32:47Speaker 2: I know at that time, I know that's understand and
- 32:50Speaker 2: I respect that because it's like what you told us before,
- 32:53Speaker 2: like that kind of hurt you later on. And that
- 32:55Speaker 2: happens with entrepreneurs all the time too, where it's like
- 32:57Speaker 2: they don't know how much, especially if you young, you're
- 33:00Speaker 2: getting money. It's like, I don't know, but it catches
- 33:03Speaker 2: up with you down the line.
- 33:04Speaker 5: It catch up with you down the line. So uh,
- 33:07Speaker 5: come with that. You know, when I got to the
- 33:08Speaker 5: six figures, spar I told you had to google what
- 33:10Speaker 5: six figures was. I even had to google where the
- 33:12Speaker 5: father was, you know, not not growing on. No father
- 33:14Speaker 5: in my life had to google, like all right, this
- 33:17Speaker 5: what the father is? Right down the steps of what
- 33:19Speaker 5: fathers do, right down with six figures. I'm like, oh,
- 33:22Speaker 5: it's only six Zipo was like like, for it's only
- 33:26Speaker 5: one hundred k. Literally, I said, okay, And I learned that.
- 33:31Speaker 5: I started looking at my numbers doing a clover. So
- 33:34Speaker 5: I went to a bank, you know, shout out the
- 33:36Speaker 5: a April Diva style, she's on the block. So this
- 33:38Speaker 5: when I got the mindset of a millionaire. Blocks. That's
- 33:42Speaker 5: how blocked twenty four hundred I'm on how block now,
- 33:46Speaker 5: so mind you. So it was a it was so
- 33:50Speaker 5: mind you. So somebody gave me game, you know, the
- 33:52Speaker 5: customers give me gaging, the customers around the neighborhood. Somebody
- 33:55Speaker 5: sat on the house. I'm sitting outside somebody like, you know,
- 33:57Speaker 5: you're on a millionaire block. Right it's a black it's
- 33:59Speaker 5: a black owned block. Right here. I say what you
- 34:01Speaker 5: mean by that? He said, April, right there, that's millionaires,
- 34:06Speaker 5: he said. The pawn shop right here, they are billionaires.
- 34:08Speaker 5: He said. The next restaurant next to you, dare millionaires.
- 34:13Speaker 5: He said, what that makes you said, the next millionaires?
- 34:17Speaker 3: Fact facts.
- 34:19Speaker 5: So I'm like, you know, I go, I go higher.
- 34:22Speaker 5: Aple Dealer Styles. You know that's wild Wife shout the
- 34:24Speaker 5: wild so Al. That's one of my female mentors as well.
- 34:31Speaker 5: You got three female mentors. You have Aple Devon Styles,
- 34:33Speaker 5: you have Shana she counting. You have my mom a kid,
- 34:36Speaker 5: my mother kid. I met her through through the trenches,
- 34:39Speaker 5: for real, you know, through the trenches. She was one
- 34:41Speaker 5: of the queens in the in the neighborhood. That really
- 34:43Speaker 5: taught me everything.
- 34:45Speaker 6: So you are twenty years old, You've brought in forty
- 34:49Speaker 6: thousand dollars. You're not eve really sure what the numbers are?
- 34:52Speaker 5: What are we doing?
- 34:54Speaker 3: What are we buying?
- 34:55Speaker 5: What? Oh? So we buying all types of cars, Mandy,
- 34:59Speaker 5: the baby just was born, so pants and wipes.
- 35:01Speaker 2: That was serious?
- 35:03Speaker 5: Uh, you know, buying new cars, buy my child mother
- 35:06Speaker 5: a new car. Panning rent off for like a year,
- 35:10Speaker 5: you know, so I'm paying every cord. I'm paying rent
- 35:12Speaker 5: off for a quarter worth? Oh right, yeah, this is
- 35:14Speaker 5: how much? It's a thousand a month right here?
- 35:16Speaker 3: All right?
- 35:17Speaker 5: Boom, still paying a landlord, so paning rent for the store.
- 35:21Speaker 5: So these are bills now, so I'm starting lying. Okay,
- 35:24Speaker 5: this has been paying employment. Didn't know the food costs,
- 35:27Speaker 5: So I'm messing up money on fool cause just paying
- 35:29Speaker 5: too much for food. I'm paying too much for food.
- 35:31Speaker 5: I'm paying too much for employment because I ain't no
- 35:33Speaker 5: no better.
- 35:34Speaker 3: So when you went to full day, how many employees?
- 35:36Speaker 5: Now?
- 35:37Speaker 2: Oh?
- 35:37Speaker 5: Now I like the label. So it's only two employees now,
- 35:40Speaker 5: you know, want to do the cash here and want
- 35:42Speaker 5: to do everything that was the portions, the the prep,

- 38:38Speaker 2: At that time, right, yeah?
- 38:40Speaker 3: Yeah, so like half day you had like two and
- 38:42Speaker 3: then oh yeah yeah yeah.
- 38:43Speaker 5: So it was always like I have full employees. Every
- 38:46Speaker 5: four employees a day, you have twelve to six. That
- 38:49Speaker 5: was that was two employees six to twelve. That was
- 38:51Speaker 5: two employees.
- 38:52Speaker 2: How much was you paying them?
- 38:53Speaker 5: I was paying them like be real, man, I didn't
- 39:00Speaker 5: even know what the what they call it.
- 39:03Speaker 3: Wait wage was at the time. They was just love me.
- 39:07Speaker 5: That's my boss. I'm young, I'm a boss. I had
- 39:10Speaker 5: to google with the boss was so you know, I
- 39:13Speaker 5: was paying like two d fifty and then I know.
- 39:17Speaker 2: It wasn't even like I said, Sat, You're just paying
- 39:18Speaker 2: them like just on something. Just street get two hundred
- 39:23Speaker 2: fifty a head like that now answering that also a
- 39:26Speaker 2: lot of time people people don't understand, like what you
- 39:28Speaker 2: said about paying freebody for them, what you said about
- 39:31Speaker 2: paying the rent up front is it's hard to understand
- 39:36Speaker 2: if you've never seen that before. But I've seen it before,
- 39:38Speaker 2: like when somebody had money and they moved too like
- 39:40Speaker 2: a nice condo and they paid a whole year. They
- 39:43Speaker 2: pay like twenty four thousand dollars up front up front.
- 39:46Speaker 2: But it's like, obviously for somebody that's like educated on finance,
- 39:50Speaker 2: it's like you could have used that for a damn
- 39:52Speaker 2: payment of a house, right, But coming off a street corner,
- 39:56Speaker 2: you're not thinking like that. And like I said, I've
- 39:57Speaker 2: seen people do that before.
- 39:59Speaker 5: I wasn't thinking that. That's time man. So uh, all
- 40:02Speaker 5: that time, I'm wasting so much money, Like it was
- 40:05Speaker 5: just money's going waste. I didn't know what it was
- 40:09Speaker 5: going to waste, but I just knew it was money going.
- 40:10Speaker 5: It was blonde.
- 40:11Speaker 2: So at what point do you all right? So you
- 40:13Speaker 2: get the you get the whole the whole city, in
- 40:15Speaker 2: the frenzy with the and that. But then you started
- 40:20Speaker 2: a dance or the.
- 40:21Speaker 5: Notchr banger dance. This this will happen right we in
- 40:24Speaker 5: the we in a car, wend a month, ten hand
- 40:27Speaker 5: a month, tenna month. So then my boys a one
- 40:32Speaker 5: ban and young like not your bangers, not your bangers.
- 40:35Speaker 5: So you hearing the song, not your banger song. It's
- 40:37Speaker 5: a one bane, So he like, not your bangers, not
- 40:40Speaker 5: your bangers. We got beef, we got strength. One bite
- 40:43Speaker 5: tastes like love. You can't even get it with cheese,
- 40:46Speaker 5: your bangers. Yeah, with a Davi of sour cream, Dad Dad,
- 40:50Speaker 5: with a David sour cream Dad Dad. So these guys
- 40:53Speaker 5: in the car bumping had these my friends. So being
- 40:57Speaker 5: got a studio in this house. Any make beats and everything.
- 41:01Speaker 5: So a one beans straight going going to the studio
- 41:03Speaker 5: cook up. He cooked up. I was cooking nacho. He
- 41:07Speaker 5: cooking up beats. So he go cook out, Like what
- 41:10Speaker 5: you what you mean you cook it up?
- 41:11Speaker 3: I'm cooking up a beat.
- 41:12Speaker 5: So they got in the studio, manyng inkey on the
- 41:15Speaker 5: ad libs, and a one bans fired that thing. And
- 41:18Speaker 5: to this day, man, we're still rocking concerts with that song.
- 41:21Speaker 5: And after that, I just put a little dance together
- 41:22Speaker 5: like this.
- 41:26Speaker 2: We're gonna put the clip on YouTube.
- 41:28Speaker 5: So Nacho banging dance went bavo. So all that's what
- 41:33Speaker 5: attracted all the youth, you know. Then that's what got
- 41:36Speaker 5: my foot into like speaking engagements with the youth, you know,
- 41:39Speaker 5: how you started your business and things. Because all the
- 41:42Speaker 5: kids start doing my dance. It was a dance, you know,
- 41:44Speaker 5: even that dance he made it on Ellen shout the
- 41:47Speaker 5: A one chops and number A one trail A one.
- 41:49Speaker 5: Leak them them boys right there. They start doing a
- 41:53Speaker 5: dance and that put the city in a friendly like
- 41:54Speaker 5: they went on Ellen with that dance like.
- 41:56Speaker 3: That was a crazy all right.
- 41:57Speaker 2: So yeah, so the dance, the dance goes crazy. Like
- 42:00Speaker 2: I said, once again, I see because I do my research.
- 42:02Speaker 2: I don't just I don't. I don't just I don't
- 42:05Speaker 2: just listen to what people say. My research, and I've
- 42:07Speaker 2: seen it. I saw it with my own eyes. I
- 42:09Speaker 2: saw it in Morgan State. I saw it in the
- 42:11Speaker 2: clubs in Baltimore. I saw the kids in the neighborhood
- 42:14Speaker 2: doing it, and it was a it's a thing, like
- 42:16Speaker 2: it's like a real thing in Baltimore. So from there,
- 42:22Speaker 2: more and more people know who you are now because
- 42:24Speaker 2: they know you from the even if they don't know
- 42:26Speaker 2: your food.
- 42:26Speaker 5: They so after the dance, you know, shout to Cuffey.
- 42:31Speaker 5: That's my guys, my brother Cuffey Sauce. He came up
- 42:34Speaker 5: with this thing called sauce. He went vying famous off
- 42:37Speaker 5: the sauce with the W that's a three ws ce sauce, sauce,
- 42:45Speaker 5: sauce sauce. So that's coffee stat right there. So that
- 42:50Speaker 5: put the city in the whole nother level because now
- 42:53Speaker 5: you have a hashtag that you actually say sauce. So
- 42:56Speaker 5: when people see it's like sauce, you feel me. And
- 42:59Speaker 5: that's what get our attention. It's a bangle for real,
- 43:01Speaker 5: So we're catching you are you'll be this, Oh that's
- 43:04Speaker 5: the sauce boys, sauce. It's a bangle for real. Like
- 43:07Speaker 5: that's it was a catchy phrase to get people like
- 43:09Speaker 5: now you if you don't even know it's now you're
- 43:11Speaker 5: able to say one word and get us to smile,
- 43:13Speaker 5: you know. So and that was catching because you know,
- 43:16Speaker 5: I the same famous people. I didn't even know what
- 43:17Speaker 5: to say. So, but if I know somebody got a
- 43:19Speaker 5: crazy slogan, I'd be.
- 43:20Speaker 3: Like, oh yeah, I can say something like yeah, it's
- 43:23Speaker 3: a banger for real.
- 43:24Speaker 5: It's a banger for real.
- 43:25Speaker 2: So at what point, So you're blowing up in the
- 43:28Speaker 2: streets and you're blowing money fast, yes, and you got
- 43:33Speaker 2: the dance.
- 43:34Speaker 3: What I was, Yeah, understandable.
- 43:36Speaker 2: Yeah, so you but but at one point you realized
- 43:41Speaker 2: that you had the real things in and become more organized.
- 43:44Speaker 2: You met an account or something like that. That what
- 43:46Speaker 2: happened with that?
- 43:47Speaker 5: I met a financial advisor and how you meet him
- 43:50Speaker 5: through April a style so financial advisor the cold growth.
- 43:54Speaker 5: She's working the back of America at the time.
- 43:56Speaker 3: So she was like, you are credit cards?
- 44:00Speaker 5: What is that credit? You got credit card?
- 44:02Speaker 2: I'm like, what is that?
- 44:04Speaker 5: She's like, you don't got no credit? Like, man, what
- 44:07Speaker 5: is credit? She broke the whole thing down to me,
- 44:11Speaker 5: only spend twenty percent of this and do this, do that.
- 44:14Speaker 5: I'm like, slow down for me. How do I start? Yeah,
- 44:18Speaker 5: she said, first she got to open the bank account
- 44:19Speaker 5: and put like five hundred dollars in there. Said, I
- 44:21Speaker 5: don't deal with no banks. I'm in a shoebox.
- 44:24Speaker 2: You keep your money in the shoe box.
- 44:26Speaker 5: And keep my money in the shoe box inside plastic
- 44:28Speaker 5: bags with every date on it. So I write the
- 44:30Speaker 5: date of what I made the money. It's still out
- 44:32Speaker 5: the store. So I write on the paper, oh this date,
- 44:35Speaker 5: put the put the money that we made that day.
- 44:38Speaker 5: Seal a bag up, put it in the shoe box.
- 44:40Speaker 3: Real shoe box money real.
- 44:41Speaker 5: So every month is a month of box or this
- 44:43Speaker 5: this not you box god. That month that's April. There's
- 44:47Speaker 5: not your box God. That's June. It's not your box god.
- 44:50Speaker 5: That's month the month. So every box, I know what's
- 44:53Speaker 5: in there because I'll be like, all right, that's three
- 44:55Speaker 5: d it's only seven hundred that Oh all right, I'm
- 44:58Speaker 5: gonna take that a zip my bag out. That's a
- 45:00Speaker 5: dollar for the print.
- 45:01Speaker 3: Alright, trap is anonymous.
- 45:03Speaker 5: Yeah, so I was out there, so it's like, no,
- 45:06Speaker 5: you have to stop that. So she brought me in
- 45:08Speaker 5: a bank. I'm so confused whole time. I ain't no realistic.
- 45:12Speaker 5: I'm really building a relationship with the bank now, so
- 45:15Speaker 5: they actually know me now. So she helped me build
- 45:17Speaker 5: that relationship with the bank. To this day, she don't
- 45:19Speaker 5: work there anymore. She had another bank, and the bank
- 45:22Speaker 5: still love me, you know. So from there in mind,
- 45:25Speaker 5: I'm still out the shoot. I'm still out the box.
- 45:27Speaker 5: Pull my money into the store. So she she put
- 45:29Speaker 5: me on game with the clover system. That's the pos.
- 45:33Speaker 5: She put me on game like how to really start tracking?
- 45:35Speaker 5: Cause I got employees. Now, come on, people still, so
- 45:40Speaker 5: I'm not really knowing where money going. I'm just knowing
- 45:42Speaker 5: if I make this quarter. My goal a day was
- 45:44Speaker 5: eight hundred to one thousand dollars a day.
- 45:47Speaker 3: You know.
- 45:47Speaker 5: When I got the store from had to learn like,
- 45:49Speaker 5: all right, this one I'm gonna mate. I was making
- 45:51Speaker 5: past that though it was scary.
- 45:53Speaker 3: But oh yeah, I ain't thinking about that. People probably
- 45:56Speaker 3: just yeah, but the.
- 45:58Speaker 5: Love you know, off of love them that they not
- 46:00Speaker 5: I did, I know. So she put the clover system up,
- 46:03Speaker 5: taught me how to get the clothes cloth is a
- 46:05Speaker 5: pos system. Track your money now.
- 46:08Speaker 2: You know how much money comes in.
- 46:10Speaker 5: To track everything now how much money come in. You
- 46:12Speaker 5: can make invoices on it everything, so you can even
- 46:14Speaker 5: do ads on there, like everything. So track my money
- 46:18Speaker 5: down and things.
- 46:19Speaker 3: She taught me that.
- 46:20Speaker 5: She taught me how to credit card work, unsecured, secured
- 46:23Speaker 5: credit card, all that financial literacy that I actually needed.
- 46:26Speaker 5: She took our time with me. So she brought everything
- 46:28Speaker 5: now on black and white on a piece of paper.
- 46:30Speaker 5: She had just break it down. Do this, that's how
- 46:32Speaker 5: you want to spend it. Things that nature This is
- 46:34Speaker 5: a fecal sport she taught me everything you know, shout
- 46:37Speaker 5: at her. She got a company called be More Savvy.
- 46:40Speaker 5: She's building teaching free financial literacy to the community of
- 46:43Speaker 5: Baltimore City. So and I definitely invite her to all
- 46:47Speaker 5: my events about entrepreneurship so she could teach financial literacy
- 46:51Speaker 5: to the world. And once she taught me that financial
- 46:55Speaker 5: literacy part, it gave me a break. So I started
- 46:58Speaker 5: really calculating my money, stop learning what the spread she
- 47:01Speaker 5: was and things of that nature, through the through everything
- 47:04Speaker 5: with the Clover system. So every day I'm on a
- 47:07Speaker 5: Clover system looking like, oh right, I made that. Then
- 47:10Speaker 5: I got strict with my money. I got strict with
- 47:12Speaker 5: the employees that I had because now I'm looking at
- 47:14Speaker 5: it like, oh hold up, invatory was hi, but we
- 47:18Speaker 5: made this. No, who's stealing there? So I started getting
- 47:22Speaker 5: back in the store roal heavy. I started watching my
- 47:23Speaker 5: numbers and through then still money, still being missing inventory
- 47:28Speaker 5: like this. So I'm like, all right, She's like, you
- 47:32Speaker 5: have to get an accounting I can't keep helping you.
- 47:35Speaker 5: You got to you have to keep books. She told
- 47:36Speaker 5: me download quick books and thangs that nature. So I'm
- 47:39Speaker 5: downloaded quick books. Come on, I ain't know what accounting was,
- 47:42Speaker 5: and then she told me you got to pay them
- 47:43Speaker 5: this much money. So I'm like, huh oh, they get
- 47:46Speaker 5: a budget out my money. No, what's that app So
- 47:50Speaker 5: I start doing the quick books myself. Dangs got overwhelmed because,
- 47:54Speaker 5: oh man, I'm getting booked for all type of shows
- 47:56Speaker 5: due to the dance. I'm getting booked for the shows
- 47:58Speaker 5: and they just want you to show up for the nachos.
- 48:02Speaker 5: I'm getting booked, not for the catering. I'm getting booked.
- 48:05Speaker 5: We are getting booked. Me and coffe y'all getting booked
- 48:08Speaker 5: for the shows, the entertainment parts. Then after the entertainment,
- 48:13Speaker 5: I'm gonna start picking up the mic. So I started
- 48:15Speaker 5: hosting as well, like one two one two, hold up,
- 48:19Speaker 5: I start going crazy and the mic as well, so
- 48:21Speaker 5: that club saying so notacho bangers, y'all, it's the bang
- 48:25Speaker 5: of voice. So we get to going crazy and the
- 48:27Speaker 5: mic and just getting booked for entertainment. So with that,
- 48:32Speaker 5: it was like I couldn't do quick books no more.
- 48:35Speaker 5: I'm getting all this kind of money coming in now,
- 48:37Speaker 5: sol receipts, I'm going shopping, I'm saving every seat. I'm
- 48:40Speaker 5: taking a picture of every receipt that I get, and
- 48:42Speaker 5: I'm like, oh, this need to me. Every store I
- 48:44Speaker 5: go to, I'm like, oh I need to receive the
- 48:46Speaker 5: gas station I need to receive Yeah, for everything I spend,
- 48:50Speaker 5: I need a receipt. So all my friends looking like
- 48:52Speaker 5: what you can getting receipts for I'm saying, bro, you
- 48:54Speaker 5: buy past shoes, make sure you give me your receipt.
- 48:56Speaker 5: I know a guy who used to do that. Every
- 48:58Speaker 5: time we would go out, He's sitting next to you, Yo,
- 49:00Speaker 5: we would go out. He was like for years and
- 49:02Speaker 5: I was like, yo, bro, what's And then I finally
- 49:04Speaker 5: was like, oh that's why he's keeping the receipts like anytime,
- 49:07Speaker 5: like he wouldn't even eat, Like, yo, let me.
- 49:09Speaker 3: Get your receipt. I was like, ah, great, got it.
- 49:15Speaker 5: So I start saving my receipts, and all my friends
- 49:17Speaker 5: to this, not not to this day, but around that time,
- 49:20Speaker 5: they used to give me the receipts and stuff, and
- 49:22Speaker 5: I had a shoe box with the receipts to shoe
- 49:25Speaker 5: botched all the receipts the days that I spent. So
- 49:27Speaker 5: I started I was my own account and then as
- 49:29Speaker 5: I know, so I was booking my own stuff and
- 49:31Speaker 5: putting everything in order. So I got that's I learned
- 49:34Speaker 5: order and I was putting everything together. Then it was
- 49:36Speaker 5: got too overwhelmed. So I had to get an accounting
- 49:39Speaker 5: and I started lining my money when the accounting taught
- 49:42Speaker 5: me how to calulate my money. Then after that I
- 49:45Speaker 5: got an assistant because I couldn't keep up with their
- 49:47Speaker 5: account anymore because I'm moving the state to state now
- 49:50Speaker 5: through the entertainment of the nachos. So I'm going to
- 49:53Speaker 5: state to state, I'm going DC, I'm going to Atlanta.
- 49:56Speaker 5: I'm going all over just to sell nachos, doing pop
- 49:59Speaker 5: ups everywhere, and I'm meeting different people on I'm networking.
- 50:02Speaker 5: So I got me an assistant. Shout out to Patty.
- 50:05Speaker 5: So patby breaking everything down, I taught him the whole format.
- 50:09Speaker 5: It was so when I first thing I did, I
- 50:11Speaker 5: built a confidential form. Before you walk into my store,
- 50:14Speaker 5: before you walk on the back, you have to sign
- 50:16Speaker 5: a confidential form. Then I'll write a doctor member where
- 50:19Speaker 5: someone was trying to get taught to Blue Ibby, but
- 50:22Speaker 5: they had to sign a non disclosure form an NDA.
- 50:26Speaker 5: So I had a friend. I had a girl called
- 50:28Speaker 5: my sister MONI and she was like, yeah, I know
- 50:30Speaker 5: how to write that. Write them up, said make me
- 50:32Speaker 5: want for Nacho Bangers. So she made me an NDA
- 50:35Speaker 5: form for nachal Bangers. So people had to sign a
- 50:37Speaker 5: confidential form the nonage closer application. So I started getting
- 50:42Speaker 5: in tact with everything, like okay, all right, just then employment,
- 50:45Speaker 5: so the accountant was like, hey, you can start putting
- 50:47Speaker 5: what you want to do uh ten ninety with your employees.
- 50:50Speaker 5: I'm like, no, I want to pay their own taxes.
- 50:52Speaker 5: So I started getting smart. Then she's like, do you
- 50:55Speaker 5: want to get wt's. I'm like, yeah, that's more and smarter.
- 50:58Speaker 5: I'm happy that I had an accountant with the accounting.
- 51:01Speaker 5: I had a financial literacy lady that taught me everything
- 51:03Speaker 5: that the account was supposed to did. So it was
- 51:05Speaker 5: like I had somebody watching the accountant as well, you
- 51:08Speaker 5: feel me. I had my assistant watching my money from
- 51:11Speaker 5: the employees. Then I had my accountant watch my money
- 51:14Speaker 5: for my assistant, and I had the financial literacy lady
- 51:16Speaker 5: watching the accounting because that's why already built a relationship
- 51:20Speaker 5: with the bank flow. So I had people I heard
- 51:22Speaker 5: her watching all everything I go through, Like okay, so
- 51:24Speaker 5: I don't get caught up. You feel me.
- 51:26Speaker 3: There's really quick. Why did you need a nondisclosure?
- 51:29Speaker 2: Uh?
- 51:29Speaker 5: None closes because the sauce, the recipe. You have to
- 51:32Speaker 5: be real careful n that we talk about here, you know, yeah, yeah, literally,
- 51:38Speaker 5: you know you got plank things in the world. We
- 51:40Speaker 5: like SpongeBob and mister Crab. You can't come get this
- 51:43Speaker 5: secret form. This is a sauce. So you know, we
- 51:45Speaker 5: have to start so you know, everybody, a lot of
- 51:47Speaker 5: people start having that's on their resume. That's why I
- 51:49Speaker 5: had to start being careful because now this is a brand,
- 51:52Speaker 5: this is a business. People want it's hot. People want
- 51:55Speaker 5: to just work for us for the name. So I
- 51:57Speaker 5: had to catch it, like nah, it's a little strict.
- 52:00Speaker 5: Now we're gonna do interviews. We want to hire you
- 52:02Speaker 5: like this. This is the protocols, how you want to
- 52:05Speaker 5: come in, It's how you want to operate. You know,
- 52:07Speaker 5: we won't give We want to do our best with
- 52:09Speaker 5: Chick fil a service have cho similarly, you know, just
- 52:14Speaker 5: like that.
- 52:15Speaker 2: That's the fact, all right. So in the last second,
- 52:16Speaker 2: we're gonna talk about few things, but once about ghost restaurants.
- 52:20Speaker 3: You got something special with that, Yeah, sure, all right.
- 52:24Speaker 2: So now we're gonna talk about something that's interesting. So
- 52:28Speaker 2: you all right? You what happened to the van? He
- 52:31Speaker 2: got crashed up?
- 52:32Speaker 5: So like a random wow, So about the van? So
- 52:37Speaker 5: coffee coming like bro bro, bro, Like yeah, what's wrong?
- 52:40Speaker 5: Come down? Man, I got side the van crash. I'm
- 52:45Speaker 5: gonna call you right back. I said, similar little text like, man,
- 52:49Speaker 5: sim of your location. I pulled up on a van.
- 52:52Speaker 5: Oh child, look at that investment. Child, look at that investment.
- 52:57Speaker 5: You know how he is?
- 52:58Speaker 3: Man, We will get it right back. Man, we getting
- 53:00Speaker 3: to it. Were the bag of boys. I'm like, you right,
- 53:04Speaker 3: you're right, You're right.
- 53:06Speaker 5: So me then, and I got an LLC with no
- 53:07Speaker 5: insurance on the vehicle. I'm like, oh, are we good?
- 53:12Speaker 5: You know we got Yeah? It bit me in my
- 53:15Speaker 5: ass and the wards. So yeah, the banger bang got
- 53:18Speaker 5: crashed up. From there, set me down a little bit,
- 53:21Speaker 5: and I ain't sit down for a tea long. I
- 53:22Speaker 5: grabbed me a smart car, so I gotta grab me
- 53:25Speaker 5: some more eye candy. So that was an eye candy
- 53:27Speaker 5: for the neighborhood. I'm a big deal in a smart car.
- 53:31Speaker 5: Looked like shack in a smart car. So I'm driving
- 53:33Speaker 5: around in a smart car with the with the this
- 53:36Speaker 5: was the corridor one, so the drop top you hear me,
- 53:39Speaker 5: and a smart cause I'm driving around the smart car.
- 53:42Speaker 5: Nacho Baggers, y'all. So I'm yelling, Nacho ban you got
- 53:45Speaker 5: something in there? Yeah, I'm pulling up on curves. I'm
- 53:48Speaker 5: going crazy with the smart car serving Nacho's out the
- 53:51Speaker 5: smart car, So that ain't stop us from being mobile.
- 53:54Speaker 2: So all right, so then so then so this is
- 53:56Speaker 2: something that's really really interesting. I actually just learned about
- 54:00Speaker 2: a concept called ghost restaurants, which is actually very popular
- 54:03Speaker 2: in New York City, Boston, DC, like metropolitan areas where
- 54:09Speaker 2: he's trying to start a restaurant and man, and the
- 54:12Speaker 2: rent might be fifteen thousand dollars a month. So it's
- 54:15Speaker 2: like you don't have enough money a lot over it,
- 54:17Speaker 2: but you can start a ghost restaurant. So you was
- 54:20Speaker 2: actually doing this before you knew what a ghost restaurant was, right, Yeah.
- 54:23Speaker 5: Actually I was doing it right out the crib before
- 54:25Speaker 5: I knew what it was. Good brother Mine's al came through.
- 54:30Speaker 5: He was let me know, like, man, it's a ghost restaurant.
- 54:33Speaker 5: Like what he was like, this concert right here? What
- 54:36Speaker 5: you're doing is a ghost restaurant, Like, man, break it
- 54:39Speaker 5: down to me, show me. You know, I always gotta
- 54:41Speaker 5: get the details.
- 54:42Speaker 3: You love to learn, Man, I love that.
- 54:44Speaker 5: I gotta understand where you get the information from. Showed
- 54:47Speaker 5: me the source. So he broke the source down. L
- 54:51Speaker 5: don't do too much talking. He pull it up and
- 54:53Speaker 5: show you right in your face. So I'm looking it up.
- 54:55Speaker 5: I'm like, wow, this one thing I said, I seen
- 54:59Speaker 5: the I read it. It was it was, it was
- 55:03Speaker 5: a company. It was two guys started the company.
- 55:06Speaker 1: Man.
- 55:06Speaker 5: They running nine kitchens out of two storefronts. What yeah,
- 55:11Speaker 5: I'm running back ghost restaurants. They running nine restaurants out
- 55:16Speaker 5: of two storefronts.
- 55:17Speaker 6: So it could be like somebody selling Chinese food, somebody's
- 55:21Speaker 6: selling Italian, somebody sellinganadas, all in the same kitchen, all
- 55:25Speaker 6: in the same kitchen only for one roof.
- 55:28Speaker 2: And so the thing with the ghost restaurant, correct me
- 55:30Speaker 2: if I'm wrong. So you're serving you make food out
- 55:34Speaker 2: of like a kitchen, like only your home kitchen. Take
- 55:36Speaker 2: you out only and you you get like grub Hub
- 55:40Speaker 2: or Uber Uber Eat post deliver. But when you order
- 55:44Speaker 2: from Uber Eats, they have like a menu you don't
- 55:46Speaker 2: necessarily know what the where these places aren't you just
- 55:49Speaker 2: see Thai restaurant. These are the different things that we have.
- 55:53Speaker 2: So now you literally make the food in your kitchen.
- 55:58Speaker 2: You have rub hub, Uber eats come.
- 56:00Speaker 1: You know.
- 56:00Speaker 5: The rest of the social media Instagram is your Facebook
- 56:02Speaker 5: that people going on, you know, so your adveratising that.
- 56:05Speaker 5: You know, you can set a website up advertise off
- 56:07Speaker 5: of that. So one thing I did, you know, I'm
- 56:09Speaker 5: already a platform on social media, So I started using Instagram.
- 56:12Speaker 5: So I actually met a dude that was a chef
- 56:14Speaker 5: and he do seafood real good. So I met him.
- 56:17Speaker 5: You know what I do, I'm normally know how to hire.
- 56:20Speaker 5: This was his profession. So I brung him around. I
- 56:23Speaker 5: built the menu. I built the menu for six items
- 56:27Speaker 5: against items. Again, built the menu up, and I put
- 56:30Speaker 5: him to work. You know, but now I actually know
- 56:33Speaker 5: confidential in da Here you go. It's another recipe. I
- 56:36Speaker 5: cannot only had one employee, so he knew everything. You know,
- 56:40Speaker 5: all you need is one it ain't it ain't too
- 56:43Speaker 5: much walking and they take out only so the tablet
- 56:45Speaker 5: is banging. He hitting every tablet pick up boom. Now
- 56:50Speaker 5: you can do your time because you got but five
- 56:51Speaker 5: minutes the week, ten minutes the week, door dash pick up,
- 56:55Speaker 5: grub her pick up, you know, and take the food
- 56:57Speaker 5: to the people and they drive.
- 56:58Speaker 3: Off with it and they never have any idea that
- 57:01Speaker 3: it's coming from you.
- 57:02Speaker 2: And like you said, you can have seven different restaurants
- 57:04Speaker 2: in one kitchen. One kitchen, Chinese, I got it, Pizzat,
- 57:08Speaker 2: I got it, got.
- 57:09Speaker 3: It, got it.
- 57:10Speaker 5: So my main concept, you know everything, you got to
- 57:14Speaker 5: be saved serving things that nature. You have to be
- 57:16Speaker 5: you have to be teching, you know, licensed up and
- 57:18Speaker 5: things that nature. Uh I mean. And also it's something
- 57:22Speaker 5: you know, you got the pros and the cons. So
- 57:25Speaker 5: the pros about it. You can do all that great things,
- 57:27Speaker 5: but you have to make sure the package good. Like
- 57:29Speaker 5: a restaurant, you have to package it good. It's still
- 57:32Speaker 5: a restaurant, so you have to market it and ship
- 57:34Speaker 5: it out right good. But the cons is that you
- 57:39Speaker 5: can get bad reviews on Yelp.
- 57:41Speaker 3: I hurt you.
- 57:42Speaker 5: You can get yeah, so you can get bad reviews
- 57:44Speaker 5: on Yelp or bad reviews on the on the grub hub.
- 57:49Speaker 5: The door des because the drivers can take too long.
- 57:52Speaker 5: You get it, so the drivers can take too long
- 57:55Speaker 5: and mess your whole product. You can't control the drivers,
- 57:57Speaker 5: can't control the drivers at all.
- 57:58Speaker 2: So how do you get Like, if I wanted to
- 58:00Speaker 2: start a cold restaurant out of my kitchen, how do
- 58:03Speaker 2: I get on Uber? Eaves is like an application you
- 58:05Speaker 2: gotta fill out.
- 58:06Speaker 5: You have to fill application out. You have to have
- 58:07Speaker 5: an EI in number. You know, you have to have
- 58:09Speaker 5: the basics for a regular restaurant. You have to have
- 58:11Speaker 5: the basics. So you have to fill out all that information.
- 58:14Speaker 5: You know, they hit you back on the email. They
- 58:17Speaker 5: do everything that that you're looking forward to how to
- 58:20Speaker 5: open a restaurant. They send a cameraman out to take
- 58:22Speaker 5: the pictures of your food.
- 58:23Speaker 2: So every do they taste it, un taste it, but
- 58:28Speaker 2: they make sure it's official.
- 58:29Speaker 5: They make sure it's official. So what I always I
- 58:31Speaker 5: do privatations. You know, any restaurant I create, I do
- 58:35Speaker 5: privatass that way they can come. You know, my friends
- 58:37Speaker 5: come over. They taste the food, all right, just the one. No,
- 58:40Speaker 5: I don't really like this. It's it's two seasons, not
- 58:43Speaker 5: a banger. So when I cook out for I'm like,
- 58:46Speaker 5: all right, mate. I always say this. Sometimes people are
- 58:50Speaker 5: dreams are tied to your success. So certain investments that
- 58:53Speaker 5: you take, it's someone dreams tied into that.
- 58:56Speaker 6: So you don't, I mean you have some like uncanny hours, right,
- 58:59Speaker 6: So like yeah, so we want to talk about how
- 59:01Speaker 6: much time is put into doing a lot of time is.
- 59:03Speaker 5: Put into these restaurants. Man, only thing to come to
- 59:07Speaker 5: a sleep is a dream. But you have to get
- 59:08Speaker 5: your rest. And now I heard one thing like you
- 59:11Speaker 5: rest your rest, so be careful with your time. And
- 59:14Speaker 5: you definitely got to be careful with your health as well.
- 59:16Speaker 5: So I definitely be tired. You know this, This restaurant industry,
- 59:20Speaker 5: entrepreneurship definitely you know, put me in some sacrifices beyond
- 59:25Speaker 5: my limits. I don't even see my children, you know.
- 59:27Speaker 5: I got two young boys from one one years old
- 59:31Speaker 5: and two years old, Shayne Kaber. So that that messed
- 59:34Speaker 5: me on my my entrepreneur lifestyle. Running a restaurant, messed
- 59:37Speaker 5: up my relationship with my child mother, you know, me
- 59:40Speaker 5: and not having a time uh me not being there
- 59:43Speaker 5: for my you know, for the family. I'm not even
- 59:46Speaker 5: saying my kids because I'm running the restaurants and things
- 59:49Speaker 5: of that nature. So that really hurt me too. Has
- 59:50Speaker 5: been a young father. So I'm trying to get that
- 59:53Speaker 5: freedom back as well, because okay, you got freedom from
- 59:57Speaker 5: not working for nobody, but now you're taking your freedom
- 59:59Speaker 5: from your family, like they don't even get to see
- 1:00:01Speaker 5: So my freedom got took from like that because being
- 1:00:03Speaker 5: an entrepreneur. So that's the cause of the restaurant industry
- 1:00:06Speaker 5: as well, and entrepreneur industry that you don't even see
- 1:00:08Speaker 5: your family because you work in until hours you're making
- 1:00:12Speaker 5: doing this, so you become a slave of the money.
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: Yeah, and that's the goal too, is to ultimately scale
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: to the point where you don't actually have to physically
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: work because you're really trading one boss for another. In
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: that scenario, it's like, now the boss isn't mister Johnson,
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: but the bosses Benjamin Franklin. Your boss's money money. So
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: the goal is to actually be financially free to a
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: point where it's not really about always say it's not
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: about money, it's about freedom. About freedom, that's the most
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: important thing. Peace of mind is you can't put a
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: price tag on peace of mind. Can't put a price
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: bag on peace of mind. You can't put a price
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: tag on peace of mind. So my mindset now is like,
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: you know, all that's took care of. Communication is number one.
- 1:00:49Speaker 5: You got to learn to communicate and let these women
- 1:00:52Speaker 5: know that's actually taking care of these kids. Let your
- 1:00:54Speaker 5: sons know, let your family know. Like, hey, this is
- 1:00:57Speaker 5: what I'm doing. I'm a sacrifice right now. Oh so
- 1:01:01Speaker 5: now I do. I'm gonna get my kids three days
- 1:01:03Speaker 5: out the week. I make sure I get them three
- 1:01:05Speaker 5: days out the week. Like I pause myself. I get
- 1:01:08Speaker 5: brother and mins that know the recipe and things and
- 1:01:10Speaker 5: know how to run a restaurant. I get an employee
- 1:01:12Speaker 5: and know how to run it, and I step out
- 1:01:13Speaker 5: and be a fall as well. And that's my freedom
- 1:01:16Speaker 5: as well.
- 1:01:16Speaker 3: It's important, man, Like I know that struggle.
- 1:01:18Speaker 6: Man, it takes a lot of balance, like not being
- 1:01:21Speaker 6: there to make it to a parent teacher conference or
- 1:01:23Speaker 6: not being there to check the homeworak. And I remember
- 1:01:25Speaker 6: when my daughter got a we we had to went
- 1:01:27Speaker 6: to Chicago and she failed spelling to us and I
- 1:01:29Speaker 6: was like, damn, we wasn't there to study, you know
- 1:01:31Speaker 6: what I mean? But having systems in place, having support,
- 1:01:33Speaker 6: it makes it a lot easier and a lot.
- 1:01:35Speaker 5: Easy because them kids is definitely a mental break for you.
- 1:01:38Speaker 5: As well. He definitely bring another kind of energy, you know,
- 1:01:41Speaker 5: that's that's that's free minds, that's fresh mindsets, because that's
- 1:01:44Speaker 5: new smiles. So your children, you're looking at him, You're like, wow,
- 1:01:48Speaker 5: he's my broke best friends. He's my broke best friend, so.
- 1:01:52Speaker 6: I gotta really like yeah, I mean and in the end,
- 1:01:55Speaker 6: you're doing it for them, right, So like anytime you
- 1:01:57Speaker 6: feel tired, this is like, you know what I can't
- 1:01:59Speaker 6: be tell because I know what the future holds for
- 1:02:02Speaker 6: him and I know what the future holds for her.
- 1:02:04Speaker 6: We're just gonna make this easier for them, you know.
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: But it's also about overcoming adversity and taking imperfect action
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: like Max Maxwell setting. It's like, the thing I like
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: about your story is that it's real and it's not perfect,
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: and that's that's the beauty of it, because it's like
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: in life, nobody's ever perfect, right, And it's like for you,
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: like you said, you had to google what a father Like,
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: that's real, Like that's a real it's an honest no,
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: but it's really because you figure you google everything if
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: you don't know, if you don't know what the answer is,
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: you google.
- 1:02:35Speaker 5: It because you don't want guessing. And you know, I
- 1:02:36Speaker 5: look at the man that was in my life. It
- 1:02:39Speaker 5: was some great ones did, but I wasn't really consistent
- 1:02:42Speaker 5: to learn from. I really couldn't. I really couldn't relate.
- 1:02:45Speaker 5: I can relate to him from certain things that he
- 1:02:47Speaker 5: was doing, but I took peace by piece because I
- 1:02:49Speaker 5: had to still survive. So I was still in a
- 1:02:51Speaker 5: survival setting as well. Like, oh he on a restaurant,
- 1:02:54Speaker 5: he's doing this. Oh while he on a barber shop,
- 1:02:57Speaker 5: he on a mechanic shot. Yeah, but they had employees already.
- 1:03:01Speaker 5: I was too young to work, so I had to
- 1:03:03Speaker 5: get on the trap.
- 1:03:04Speaker 6: Yeah, Nippy said that man. He said, it's tough to
- 1:03:06Speaker 6: thrive on. Yeah, And so as soon as you come
- 1:03:09Speaker 6: out of survival mode, you're gonna learn you.
- 1:03:11Speaker 5: Can get times to eat. You don't even eat, you know,
- 1:03:13Speaker 5: I was. I was skinnier. That's why I say never
- 1:03:16Speaker 5: trust a skinny chef, because when I was in that
- 1:03:18Speaker 5: grind mold, it wasn't no eating. Had to survive. I
- 1:03:21Speaker 5: really had to get in the churches. I really had
- 1:03:23Speaker 5: to make it, do with it.
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: Do.
- 1:03:25Speaker 5: I really had to, like, you know, take it. Then
- 1:03:26Speaker 5: I'm getting my young lady pregnant. We're both nineteen. She eighteen.
- 1:03:31Speaker 5: It's a new born baby, right, bring a new life
- 1:03:33Speaker 5: into the atmosphere of the world. I had to get
- 1:03:36Speaker 5: on my grind. It wasn't no little boy, you're not
- 1:03:39Speaker 5: little art no more. You're not you know, you becoming
- 1:03:42Speaker 5: a man, but you're gonna grow. So I made two goals.
- 1:03:46Speaker 5: Won to build generational wealth. I want to prepare my
- 1:03:50Speaker 5: death for my family.
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like it's like when I said, he's like,
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: I wrapped the billions of queens Bridge, and that line
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: is so dope to me because it's like, I have
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: to see queens Bridges is a project. So it's like
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: when he said I wrapped the brilliance of Queensbridge. It's
- 1:04:03Speaker 2: like you don't necessarily say public housing and brilliant. But
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: I think like his line, like you're living example of
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: his line because it's like, without knowing it, you've shown brilliance.
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: Like as far as you had the ghost restaurant, you
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: just doing it. You don't know that's a ghost restaurant.
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: You start the dance moveing, or you'll know that that's market.
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: You start the restaurant out of your house. You just
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: cooking food, you don't know that you're actually starting a
- 1:04:33Speaker 2: real business.
- 1:04:34Speaker 5: And also you know I'm saving lives or employment, that's
- 1:04:38Speaker 5: a fact. You know, I'm really saving young lives du employment.
- 1:04:41Speaker 5: I'm giving back to the community. These kids in Survival
- 1:04:45Speaker 5: more got to take care the little sister, got to
- 1:04:46Speaker 5: take care of the mother. And I'm really like, wow,
- 1:04:49Speaker 5: they actually paying rent at wage seventeen fifteen sixteen what
- 1:04:55Speaker 5: you can't even get a workman and you're paying bills.
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: Nah, it's a real story in something like I said,
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: the thing were legions that we try to highlight different stories,
- 1:05:03Speaker 2: but it's important to highlight stories like this because it's
- 1:05:05Speaker 2: like talking about young entrepreneurs and it's like you're already
- 1:05:09Speaker 2: succeeding with very little resources. So it's like yeah, so
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: it's like you're gonna get to where you need to
- 1:05:17Speaker 2: go regardless, because that's just God's plan. But it's like
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: what if what if you grew up in a in
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: a middle class neighborhood, you might be the CEO of
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: PEPSI right now say, because you're already brilliant. But at
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: the end of the day, like I said, it's all
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: part of the plan, So you gonna get there regardless.
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: And I like what you said as far as the
- 1:05:36Speaker 2: family too, because it's like that happens. See, this is
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: something that it's not just you. We look at the
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: forest list, you see half of the CEOs is divorced.
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: I read phild Night's book. He was like, the biggest
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: regret is that he wasn't there for his kids. Because
- 1:05:48Speaker 2: it's like when you running a business on small or
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: large level entrepreneur, a lot of times you can that
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: can consume your life. And it's something that, like I
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: said that, on a high level, small level people people
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: struggle with that all the time. So it's like it
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: doesn't matter if you run a fortune five hundred company
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: or BODEGGA balance is something that everybody has to come.
- 1:06:09Speaker 5: And catch the little when you go out to eat
- 1:06:11Speaker 5: by yourself and you're going to eat with a friend,
- 1:06:13Speaker 5: catch some little side conversations that people having with the balltender.
- 1:06:17Speaker 5: So I actually learned how to get my kids three
- 1:06:19Speaker 5: days out the week because I learned I heard from
- 1:06:22Speaker 5: this man he was talking to you. I was in
- 1:06:23Speaker 5: Ruth Chris, and he was talking to the bartender. He
- 1:06:26Speaker 5: was like, yeah, so I don't get my daughter anymore
- 1:06:29Speaker 5: only get a two days out the week. It used
- 1:06:31Speaker 5: to be three. Man, I'm in a I'm over here
- 1:06:34Speaker 5: eating my food, Like that's a good idea. I don't
- 1:06:37Speaker 5: get them at all. I'm like, you know what, I'm
- 1:06:40Speaker 5: calling my child mother. Hey, hey, I'm gonna start getting
- 1:06:44Speaker 5: the kids three days out the week. Okay, where that
- 1:06:47Speaker 5: comes from?
- 1:06:49Speaker 2: Man?
- 1:06:49Speaker 5: I learned that. You hear me, I'm coming to get them.
- 1:06:51Speaker 5: I'm gonna start getting them, all right, what your days is,
- 1:06:54Speaker 5: I'm gonna figure that out. I was just start coming
- 1:06:55Speaker 5: to get him three days out the week, all right.
- 1:06:57Speaker 5: So we just went from there and I started getting.
- 1:06:59Speaker 2: Them on the fly. And like I said, I mean,
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: it's it's commendable because it's like how many people could
- 1:07:05Speaker 2: survive in that situation of not even growing up with
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: parents and like you know, literally being on your own
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: at six years old. Like so it's like it's like
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: it's like you're learning life on a fly, and it's
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: really encouraging to even see a young entrepreneur Like when
- 1:07:22Speaker 2: we saw you in Baltimore, it's like that's dope, like
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: that you actually came to GC.
- 1:07:27Speaker 3: And out of my man l, Man, my man L
- 1:07:29Speaker 3: is like come on, he said, I bought the tickets.
- 1:07:31Speaker 3: He said, well, we're going. Don't worry, you're going.
- 1:07:33Speaker 2: But that's one of the dope things are It's like
- 1:07:36Speaker 2: a business who who would have thought somebody like be
- 1:07:38Speaker 2: listening to a business podcast, like you know what I'm saying.
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: It's like we're with the street. Like it's a really
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: dope situation because it's something that it's like people always
- 1:07:50Speaker 2: you present people with with a better way, and they'll
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: they'll go that way. Nine times out of ten the person.
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: A lot of people will go that way. Some people won't,
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: but a lot of people will go that way. But
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: they have to be presented with it. They have to
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: be shown it.
- 1:08:01Speaker 6: And how many people are giving you the option or
- 1:08:03Speaker 6: the opportunity to have a platform to say the story?
- 1:08:06Speaker 3: Your story was uplifting? Your energy.
- 1:08:08Speaker 6: I mean people, I mean Baltimore know your energy, but
- 1:08:10Speaker 6: like the world going to see your energy after this.
- 1:08:12Speaker 6: But your energy was so infectious. It's just like yo,
- 1:08:14Speaker 6: this kid is a star.
- 1:08:15Speaker 5: So they star power man like that star power seriously,
- 1:08:20Speaker 5: like my mother time it was raining, you know, they
- 1:08:23Speaker 5: shoot a movie in Baltimore. Shout out to meat Males
- 1:08:25Speaker 5: and chaino. So they shooting a movie in Baltimore, Chalm
- 1:08:28Speaker 5: City Kings produced by Will Smith and others. So they
- 1:08:33Speaker 5: shoot a movie in Baltimore. So a friend of mine's
- 1:08:36Speaker 5: come up there. Young Moose actually met meet Miles out
- 1:08:39Speaker 5: of Young Moose. We camp there earlier with Sonny. Then
- 1:08:42Speaker 5: I linked with the people that you know, you got
- 1:08:44Speaker 5: the little side, people that feed everybody and things like
- 1:08:46Speaker 5: what y'all got up here? What y'all got to eat?
- 1:08:48Speaker 5: What y'all serving. It's like we just got little snacks, like,
- 1:08:51Speaker 5: you know, chips and things that nature. I'm like, now
- 1:08:53Speaker 5: y'all feed these people chips. These stars really eating chips
- 1:08:57Speaker 5: and carrots. That said, man, I got something man. So
- 1:09:01Speaker 5: the deal on the they had the food truck, the
- 1:09:03Speaker 5: food did the food thing. He had a budget for food.
- 1:09:07Speaker 5: So by me talking to me like, look, I got
- 1:09:09Speaker 5: this budget, bring this amount of wraps up, and I'm like,
- 1:09:11Speaker 5: say less, say less. So I went to my storefront.
- 1:09:15Speaker 5: I got some wraps. It was pulling down dinner store raining,
- 1:09:19Speaker 5: So tell coffee, come on. So I'm I'm feeding everybody.
- 1:09:24Speaker 5: You know, I got the budget already. I'm feeding everybody.
- 1:09:27Speaker 5: Had had two bags left. I had two bags for
- 1:09:32Speaker 5: the raps like, so I'm walking see meat, I'm like meat,
- 1:09:36Speaker 5: you hungry? Like what you got? Sam Man? I got
- 1:09:40Speaker 5: chicken and shrimp rap beef and shrimp wrap? He like,
- 1:09:42Speaker 5: give me the chicken and shrimp junt. So I gave
- 1:09:45Speaker 5: him that one and were walking off. He's like, no,
- 1:09:49Speaker 5: come get a picture like no record because he had
- 1:09:52Speaker 5: his little outfit on no record. So Coffee took the
- 1:09:55Speaker 5: picture for us and things that nature. It was raining,
- 1:09:57Speaker 5: so we got ab out of there for real. The
- 1:10:00Speaker 5: next day, ten am, I got a DM for Chino.
- 1:10:03Speaker 5: Chino like me needs some bangers. Meet want bangers. So
- 1:10:07Speaker 5: after meat meals again.
- 1:10:08Speaker 2: You know what you know?
- 1:10:10Speaker 5: Yeah that's my guy. Yeah, I grew up with Chino
- 1:10:11Speaker 5: as well. So Chino hit like yo, meet me bangers.
- 1:10:16Speaker 5: Said what okay, I'll hit you what I get. I'm
- 1:10:18Speaker 5: on my way, you feel me? So that was definitely
- 1:10:21Speaker 5: a milestone for me, feeding that guy, you know, feeding
- 1:10:23Speaker 5: that good brother, and that made me my respect level
- 1:10:26Speaker 5: so much more for him. And definitely reading his document
- 1:10:28Speaker 5: like watching his documentary on Amazon made me cry, definitely
- 1:10:32Speaker 5: made me shed tears, Definitely made me respect him as
- 1:10:35Speaker 5: a human being so much and just understanding from the
- 1:10:38Speaker 5: poverty and where I come from and how I grew
- 1:10:40Speaker 5: up and understanding like the reform situation he's doing now
- 1:10:44Speaker 5: for the world. It really whooked me up, woked me up.
- 1:10:48Speaker 5: And when he ate that Nacho Banga twice, man, what
- 1:10:51Speaker 5: you couldn't tell me nothing? One bite tastes like love.
- 1:10:55Speaker 5: Y'all all at one bike.
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: To our second Meat Mills story on the podcast. We
- 1:11:01Speaker 2: gotta get meet on a good brothers for sure, for sure,
- 1:11:03Speaker 2: so not your man. It was a pleasure. Thank you.
