- 0:29Now saying all of this, it's a brand new week and we're having
- 0:32another brand new spiritual conversation and Shah Allah
- 0:36Ahmed Salam. Ali, how are you having Al?
- 0:50Hamdulillah, how are you? I'm good to say that Hamdullah,
- 0:53we are a week in. I'm doing lies.
- 0:56It's a blessing. It's a baraka.
- 0:57I think it's been a beautiful, beautiful month so far.
- 1:01How are you? How's the blessed month been for
- 1:03you? It's it's been good but
- 1:05different this year. And I think many of us can
- 1:07relate to this is because it's very close to when we finish our
- 1:10daily work. Yeah, you're right.
- 1:12So by the time we get home, it's literally Madre Band.
- 1:15So. How are you changing your daily
- 1:17routine for that? Trying to leave earlier from
- 1:20work. OK, no, I I mean like for
- 1:23example the Ebada and this and that.
- 1:26It's different, yeah. I won't say I've done anything
- 1:29different. I just say it's been more spent
- 1:32with the children. This.
- 1:33Year. Nice.
- 1:33Yeah, Hamdullah, yeah, Hamdullah itself, Hamdullah.
- 1:37But yeah, it's good to have you back grand sisters.
- 1:38We have another fantastic conversation, Hamdullah.
- 1:41Today we have a conversation on Shukar, on Hamd, on mercy and
- 1:45and gratitude towards Allah, span to Allah and many other
- 1:48themes, Themes that we often hear about don't often
- 1:51implement, especially in Shahramadhan.
- 1:53There's no greater time than now to really reflect on these key
- 1:57principles, principles that I believe the school of the Yahud
- 2:00Bait, Al Ahmad Saddam emulate in the best of ways.
- 2:04We have the best of scriptures, the best of examples to follow.
- 2:07And today, inshallah, we are going to get into that with
- 2:09someone who is a returning guest to the podcast, someone who's a
- 2:13dear brother to us, a friend to us, but more than anything, a
- 2:15teacher to us, our dear, respected Sheikh Ibrahim Al
- 2:18Saadi Salah Alaikum Sheikh. Alaikum Salaam Muhammad Allah,
- 2:21except for the teacher part, but then we're here to have a little
- 2:25conversation and I'm amongst my friends, so it's lovely to be
- 2:28alive with my dear brothers in this is.
- 2:30So honored to have you. Hamdullah Ashukar, how are you
- 2:34guys keeping Hamdullah? Hamdullah has been a big
- 2:38blessing. Like I said, Ali said this is a
- 2:41bit of a change. Iftar is very early, but it's in
- 2:45the favour of the kids. And actually just on that
- 2:47question you asked Said Ali as well.
- 2:49In terms of changes that have been made, kids joining into our
- 2:54liftatah and all of these things I think is a very nice thing
- 2:57because I remember when Shahramadhan was in the summer,
- 3:00by 10/10/30, the kids are not going to stay up.
- 3:03Of course, they're sleeping, whatever.
- 3:06So now it's nice to see them joining.
- 3:08You see a lot of more youth in the programs, the Quran programs
- 3:12and all of these. You see young children sitting
- 3:14down reciting Quran. So it's lovely to see.
- 3:16It is, yeah. There's a great opportunity for
- 3:19us, I think, regardless what stage of life we're in, whether
- 3:23we're working professionals, if we're youth or students, if
- 3:27we're parents. And you know, for those who are
- 3:29elders in our community, there's some benefit that comes to this
- 3:32because of course, the the fasts are not too short such that it's
- 3:36not so much of a challenge. There's still somewhat of a
- 3:38challenge. But at the same time, we can use
- 3:39the the rest of the day to to really like invigorate our
- 3:43Ebada, our worship. And I think for me, that's
- 3:46probably been one of the main focuses for myself and channel
- 3:50on today I was speaking to one of my business partners.
- 3:54He helps me with some work and he was saying to me that my
- 3:57biggest challenge this year is how I speak.
- 4:00He was on trying to speak, but he goes, the fasts are not too
- 4:02hard. He does physical labour, this
- 4:04guy. So he's Mashallah, he's like
- 4:06fasting and he's working hard. But he said for me, it's not the
- 4:09food or the water. It's more how I speak and my
- 4:11attitude and my addictions and so on.
- 4:13So inshallah Allah gives us Tofia to complete the month and
- 4:16to complete a successfully Inshallah.
- 4:17Inshallah maybe a month of blessings and spirituality and
- 4:21the proximity to Allah and it's only a start in Charlotte to
- 4:25many more months of proximity of.
- 4:27Course in Charlotte and Charlotte Branchester before we
- 4:30get started the conversation, I want to ask you all to join me
- 4:33in reciting assault Al Fatiha for the respected grandfather of
- 4:38Sheikh Ibrahim Atallah Dr. Sheikh Ahmed Al Bahad Ali who
- 4:42passed away last week if I'm not mistaken, 2 weeks, 2 weeks ago.
- 4:47He was a great man. Sheikh Ibrahim has told us about
- 4:50his life and his not only how he spent his years as a teacher in
- 4:55the House of Najaf and someone who achieves a really high
- 4:58station and rank in terms of the Hauser, but also a family man
- 5:02and someone who spent his time in his last moments remembering
- 5:06the Ahmed Beta Hayeh Salaam. So let's recite together.
- 5:09If you don't mind, before we start, the fact had to also
- 5:12include within this recitation the father of our dear brother
- 5:15Sehd Ali Rutherwi and also. We pray for, for your mom and
- 5:39also your respected grandmother who of course is in need of of
- 5:42our dua and of course in need of shafaar from Allah.
- 5:47Grant her that shafaar quickly. Habib Sheikh said.
- 5:52Where's, where do you reckon? A good place to start is of
- 5:54course such a huge conversation. It is.
- 5:56It is a huge conversation. But before we start, yeah, sure.
- 5:59Do you miss Major? I miss it a lot.
- 6:01Yeah, I miss it a lot. I'll be very honest.
- 6:04I'm not even going to sit here jumbling, as we say in Iraqi.
- 6:07I miss it a lot. Have you?
- 6:09Yeah. Every day that passes, I'm like,
- 6:11I want to go back. Well, the shrine of Emir is
- 6:14there. I mean, you can't beat that,
- 6:16right? You can't be there.
- 6:16You can't beat that daily Ziara of.
- 6:19So not daily. Maybe we'll miss a day or two in
- 6:22the in the week, but a recurring Ziara of being close proximity
- 6:27to Carabella and these are blessings that a person cannot
- 6:31count. Have you managed to spend
- 6:32Ramadan nights in the Jeff? I have before.
- 6:35Okay. But this is years ago.
- 6:37Yeah. Yeah, this is much before I
- 6:40started in this journey, if you like.
- 6:44On one of the travels, I think we went to Iraq and we spent
- 6:49Leah Deshad at Emir Al Mamin up until 8IN Shah Ramadan in Najaf.
- 6:54For Shah Ramadan. It was beautiful.
- 6:56It was beautiful, yeah, but other than that, I haven't.
- 6:58Dropped it. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 7:00I've heard it's. Beautiful it is.
- 7:01I've had to be honest. Had the opportunity, I was
- 7:05speaking to one of my friends in who lives in Najaf.
- 7:08He's he was in London. So I was speaking on the phone
- 7:12and then he said Ramadan here is boring like in in that tone
- 7:17exactly. It's boring and it's true
- 7:20because the the over here and it's not really in our hands.
- 7:25But at the end of the day, in Najaf, everyone is fasting.
- 7:29Everyone knows the Shah Ramadan. So the days are scheduled around
- 7:32Shah Ramadan. You have the baranis of the
- 7:34Alamar, you have the majalis, you have the families that
- 7:37gather, et cetera. This is doesn't really happen
- 7:39here. Even the families, any
- 7:43atmosphere over here, even families that want to gather,
- 7:46when are they going to gather? Weekend.
- 7:48Well, I shouldn't because during the week we are working and I
- 7:50don't know what. So by that time, so we see that
- 7:53side as well. Yeah.
- 7:54Well Hamdullah that a person is able to to witness the month.
- 7:58Hamdullah. Hamdullah.
- 8:00Shahna being the blessed month of Ramadan, it's the month of
- 8:04mercy, the month of Rahman, I think.
- 8:06Let's begin here with your permission is that you know many
- 8:10of us, we've grown up and always until this very day, we always
- 8:14know Allah by His beautiful names, many names and all these
- 8:18are all attributes of Allah such as Al Rahman, Al Rahim.
- 8:21But what do they really mean? What does it mean for us?
- 8:25Over the 99. Names.
- 8:30We'll go through them 1 by 1. To be honest, the names of Allah
- 8:36azzawajal. One thing we need to remember is
- 8:39they're, they are at the end of the attributes of of Allah
- 8:41Subhanutta Allah. Now the attributes of Allah
- 8:44Subhanutta Allah are always going to go back to his, that to
- 8:50his intrinsic nature, if you like.
- 8:52This is what Allah Azzawajal is. It does not separate from Allah,
- 8:57Subhanutta Allah. So Allah being a Rahman means
- 9:01that he is merciful. Allah Azza Wajal, His mercy
- 9:05encompasses all things. Allah Azza Wajal has a mercy, is
- 9:10so merciful and that is maybe even the secret as to why Allah
- 9:15Azza Wajal knows even the whispers of the human being so
- 9:18that he can be merciful on those occasions.
- 9:20The reason he knows about every single little particle that is
- 9:25under every single rock in the deepest ocean is so that he can
- 9:28be merciful to those, to whatever is required for that
- 9:33specific particle or atom or whatever you want to call it.
- 9:36Or even let's go even further, the quark, what the quark is,
- 9:40is, is in need of. So this is the idea of mercy.
- 9:43That is not to negate the fact that Allah Azzawajal is also
- 9:48overseeing these things for specific things to be written in
- 9:52case there needs to be punishment for those things as
- 9:54well. I don't want to ever separate
- 9:56those two conversations totally. However, this is the idea of
- 10:01mercy and that he is a Rahman Rahim.
- 10:03He is that merciful being whose mercy encompasses all things.
- 10:08Sure. Like if I can ask when we say
- 10:10this, you know Hamdulillah Rabbil al, I mean, and we're
- 10:13talking about Al Rahman, Al Rahim.
- 10:16We're talking about these kind of you mentioned the that or
- 10:19last ones Allah. Am I correct in assuming and,
- 10:22and thinking that there are different types of lot of Allah?
- 10:25Some are perhaps, as you mentioned, intrinsic and
- 10:27permanent and some may be consequential.
- 10:30So for example, Al Razak or Al Shafi, these are consequential.
- 10:34So when someone is in need of risk a lot is Al Razak or Al
- 10:38Shafi is for Shifa and so on. Is that the same with Al Rahman
- 10:42Al Rahim? What is the difference between
- 10:44them? And if I can just add
- 10:46secondarily, sorry to to ask another question, the word rub,
- 10:49which is used in the I of course, in the English language,
- 10:52we tend to translate this to Lord, right?
- 10:56It doesn't really do justice to the term rub.
- 10:59Like for example, when you in in the Arabic language, sometimes
- 11:02you refer to the mother of the home Rubba bet right?
- 11:05If I'm not mistaken, the father, usually the the father, the
- 11:08caretaker of the caretaker more so in the sense of sustenance or
- 11:13sustaining is there when I think of I don't know, of course, the
- 11:17psychology behind this and Allah's reasoning, but the way I
- 11:20see is that Allah is is is indicating to us that the
- 11:25creation of the universe. Allah's not saying Khalaq al
- 11:29Amin or something, but rather something which is permanent,
- 11:32present, reoccurring, ongoing Rabbil al Amin in the sense that
- 11:35Allah's sustenance and his him being the sustainer of the
- 11:39world's is something that's continuous.
- 11:41And how does that play into the fact of of the mercy of Allah's
- 11:43panto Allah? So firstly we need to correct
- 11:47one statement and then we'll move on to the question, which
- 11:50is to say Allah azzawajal has multiple that is a is a big
- 11:54issue. So Allah's that is 1 and all his
- 11:58Sephard, although I didn't think we'll go into an we will anyway.
- 12:03And all his Sephard, all his characteristics go back to his
- 12:06that and everything that is in relation to him is I know that
- 12:10everything goes back to his specific intrinsic nature.
- 12:14Everything is part of his nature.
- 12:16So that's this is in terms of his that his that is also
- 12:20eternal or what we say in Arabic Padim, it, it never came into
- 12:26existence and it will never cease to exist.
- 12:29And likewise, his, his attributes come with that.
- 12:34Why? Because his attributes are part
- 12:35of him. Part of his that.
- 12:37And because that is who he is now, there isn't discussion.
- 12:40There is a discussion on different types of different
- 12:43types of attributes. They are known as a Safati
- 12:46failure. So that those are not to do with
- 12:49that. That is a discussion on the
- 12:51attributes of that which requires action if you like,
- 12:54such as Khalatiya, Razatiya, these things like was he a
- 12:58Thalak before he created or was he not?
- 13:01Was he a Razak before he gave Razak or was he not?
- 13:04This is a discussion. I don't want to delve into it,
- 13:07but the summary of it is even the one.
- 13:10So there is an opinion that that he is.
- 13:13The majority opinion is that the cipher failure comes in after,
- 13:17but it all comes from a cipher that is related to his that
- 13:21which is called the right. Of course.
- 13:22The the power to do something, the ability to do, to do
- 13:26something. So in in the end of the day,
- 13:28everything goes back to his that the moment we put multiple that
- 13:32to Allah Hazawajan, we are going to number Allah Hazawajan.
- 13:36And if we fall into numbering him, we will fall into shirk.
- 13:39So this is the first part. As for Rahman, Allah Azzawajal
- 13:44is a Rahman within his nature. Allah Azzawajal is a Rahman just
- 13:50like he is Shadid Al Aqab within his nature, just like he is Al
- 13:55Malik within his nature. All of these things are part of
- 13:59Allah Azzawajal's that this rhyme, however, it applies to
- 14:04different individuals at different times or applies not
- 14:07just to individuals to everything really at different
- 14:10times. Just for the fact that at this
- 14:14specific moment, at this specific moment I have for
- 14:18example, not felt that Rahman does not take away the fact that
- 14:22Allah is Rahman in this specific moment.
- 14:25Allah Azzawajal is Rahman at all times because Allah does not
- 14:28stop being something specific at a specific time.
- 14:31Allah has always Allah at all times.
- 14:34And if these things are part of his nature or if all of these
- 14:38things are part of his, that then it is what it is, something
- 14:41that applies at all times. Therefore, the Rahman of Allah
- 14:44Azzawajal is applicable at all times.
- 14:47Then then your second question was the fact that you we say Rab
- 14:53Bilal Amin. What is the meaning of this word
- 14:56Rab and the fact that we translate it to Lord?
- 15:00Many Arabic words have multiple meanings.
- 15:06Rab is used in terms of caretaker.
- 15:08This is 1. But it can also come in the in
- 15:12the form of lordship. Now usually, usually or not
- 15:16actually, not usually, sometimes and sometimes not, there will be
- 15:20a relationship between those two meanings and sometimes there
- 15:22will not be a relationship between the two.
- 15:25Knowing Allah has their own jealous nature, we know that
- 15:29there is a relationship between Him being a Lord and between Him
- 15:33being a caretaker. And the reason I say is this,
- 15:36when have you ever seen a master, a master?
- 15:41And you can think of any type of master.
- 15:42Even if you want to think, think of a slave master in the best
- 15:45way that we can think of it, because at the end of the day,
- 15:48we are slaves of Allah Azzawajal.
- 15:49We are not servants. And I'm very adamant on that
- 15:52point. When have you ever seen a slave
- 15:56master be so patient with his slave who is always going
- 16:04against what they have ordered? Usually you'd think a master is
- 16:10a person who there and then would whip that sleeve.
- 16:14Allah has original, He gives us more.
- 16:17He says I'm going to give you a second chance.
- 16:19I'm going this is Rahman, this is Rahman.
- 16:22This is some type of mercy that He is allowing us to feel and
- 16:26this is also him taking care of us.
- 16:28A slave does something bad against their master.
- 16:30He says I will not give you any food today yet, Hamdulillah, I
- 16:34still have a cup of water here right next to me.
- 16:37Although today I have come short with my master.
- 16:41This is the type of care that Allah Azzawajal is showing his
- 16:45slaves at all times. So this is the second part of
- 16:49your question. I feel there's a third part of
- 16:50your question, which is although you didn't point to it, but I
- 16:53think it's worth mentioning the fact that you say al
- 16:57Hamdulillahi, Rabbil Alami, al Rahman, Al Rahim, Maliki, Omid
- 17:02Din, then Eyak and Abbot, but before that you'll keep
- 17:06mentioning other attributes of Allah, azzawajal.
- 17:09And here suddenly we have moved away from a concept of hamt.
- 17:14Although we started with Hamt, we moved away from Hamt without
- 17:18realizing. We moved into what we know as
- 17:20thanat and this is something that is mixed many times between
- 17:25the two is what we started with. The moment I said I, I said al
- 17:29hamdulillah, I have done hamd of Allah Hazel.
- 17:32Yeah, the moment I started adding more attributes of Allah,
- 17:35Hazel, I am now performing Senna.
- 17:39Do we have time to go over the difference between the two?
- 17:42Yeah, Yeah. I feel like it's become.
- 17:43By the way, I have a gut feeling this is going to be a nice long
- 17:48podcast. Yeah, yeah.
- 17:49I hope it's all. Going to be.
- 17:52It's OK with you. Don't mind, we're good to.
- 17:56For the people watching, I think they'll get tired.
- 17:59Just a very quick difference between the two and is when you
- 18:03praise Allah or praise anything for that anyone for that matter.
- 18:08When you praise something that is related to a that is related
- 18:12to an intrinsic attribute attribute to a specific person,
- 18:18you see praise be to that person for the specific value for the
- 18:23specific thing. But that thing should be what
- 18:25something that is a intrinsic attribute to that being whether
- 18:30human or God or whatever it may be.
- 18:32So you can do hand over a specific human being because of
- 18:36a specific value that they have within them.
- 18:38Now Allah azzawajal, I perform hand of him because of certain
- 18:44intrinsic attributes that he has.
- 18:45Alhamdulillah Rabbil Alameen, the moment I said Rahman Rahim,
- 18:52I've added more things. They they are also intrinsic
- 18:54attributes of Allah Azza wajal, but I've added more things.
- 18:58Thana is repeated praise. So whenever I begin repeating a
- 19:03certain type of hand, that is known as thana, which is why but
- 19:08something very important that thana needs to be accompanied
- 19:12with love. The reason is if it is not
- 19:17accompanied with love, I can say ham to something specific and
- 19:20keep mentioning other attributes.
- 19:23But if it's not accompanied with love, then it can be known what
- 19:26is known in the Arabic language as met met who would translate
- 19:30to what when you speak well of. Praise.
- 19:32Or I don't understand praise. Hang on, hang.
- 19:36On praise, when you speak well, when you praise someone, but in
- 19:39terms of speaking one of them. But sometimes I speak well of a
- 19:42certain individual. It might not always be
- 19:45accompanied with love that I have to that individual, rather
- 19:49just I know unless that individual.
- 19:52Guy. He's a nice guy.
- 19:54He has good luck. That guy is a very good guy.
- 19:57He's got good luck. He's he helps people, he does
- 20:00this, he does that. And I keep mentioning certain
- 20:02things, but I don't really care for that person.
- 20:04That is meant. But when I care for that being,
- 20:07that is finna. So when I turn to Allah
- 20:09Azzawajal in praise and I start by praising him and I say
- 20:13alhamdulillah, I've started my hand.
- 20:17Then I say, Rahman Rahim, let it be within my heart that I am
- 20:20mentioning more attributes and I am extending this phrase out of
- 20:24love. I start my extended praise by
- 20:34praising. Well.
- 20:37Usually I think translations out of org mention glorification and
- 20:41all. Yeah, it does.
- 20:42Leave that to listen. Leave the translation to the
- 20:44side. Just understand it for what it.
- 20:45Is. I start my extended praise by
- 20:49praising you, etcetera, etcetera.
- 20:57You're doing Fena. No, if the is full of Fena, it
- 21:00starts with HAMP. The rest of it's all Fena.
- 21:04Yeah. So I thought this was done but.
- 21:07It it started off often on a good note.
- 21:10That's amazing. I said thank you, thank you for
- 21:13that. You know, it just reminds us of
- 21:15if I can just come back to the mercy of our last final, I think
- 21:19being the month of mercy. We should always remember that
- 21:22when we say Rahman Rahim, firstly, we understand that
- 21:26Allah's mercy encompasses everything, but rather his mercy
- 21:30is always there. No matter where we are, he's
- 21:33always going to be a Rahman Rahim.
- 21:35So even if we like, because sometimes about humans, we may
- 21:38find ourselves going left and right and we can always come
- 21:42back to the to the door of mercy of Allah Subhanahu Ta'ala.
- 21:44And there's a hadith by Imaba Sadiq Alayhi Salaam where he
- 21:48says the mercy and the love of Allah that he has for us is
- 21:53greater than a mother has for her child.
- 21:55And I think there's even reports more than that where we have,
- 21:59where they say it's greater 70 times than parents have towards
- 22:03their children. And and that just shows you the
- 22:05beauty of the rahma of Allah and always the rahma rahma.
- 22:08Like you mentioned, we always recite al Hamdallah, Haraballah
- 22:10al. I mean, it's these small words
- 22:11and you've explained it very eloquently and very beautifully.
- 22:14But we forget like the verses, like for example, like these.
- 22:20There's always a reminder that wherever we find ourselves, the
- 22:23mercy of Allah is always there. Can I add to that as well?
- 22:26I think one, one of my personal goals, the Shahram Avan, as I
- 22:29think all of ours is, is to reconnect with Kalam Allah, with
- 22:32the holy of Quran. And for me, one thing I've
- 22:36started doing or trying to start doing is to make notes.
- 22:40So I'll read the the holy of Quran and I'll read the
- 22:42accompanying translation and the Tafasil as well and I'll write
- 22:46how I feel in with each Surah and even key things which stood
- 22:52out to me. So for example, there's key
- 22:53elements like Al Qaidi elements or stories or things which I
- 22:57didn't realise even when you start.
- 23:00So we've discussed Sottil Fatah. When you look at Sottil Bhakra
- 23:03and the Holy Quran, one key thing that really hit me and
- 23:06that's I'm ashamed to say that it's taken me this long in my
- 23:08life to really like go deep into the Surah, at least to my humble
- 23:12degree, is that there's a complete repetition that Allah
- 23:16talks about the covenant, the covenant, the covenant, the
- 23:19covenant. He begins the Surah, He talks
- 23:22about the covenant between man and God.
- 23:25He talks about key al Qaidi principles.
- 23:28Then he talks about Nabi Moussa Alayhi Salaam.
- 23:30He talks about Bani Aslayil and he talks about when Nabi Moussa
- 23:33went to The Cave to the mountain and they will start worshipping
- 23:36the calf within 40 days. And then Allah continues to say,
- 23:40well, you have the chance to to repent.
- 23:42Allah is al Hamad al rahamin al afur al Rahim like he continues
- 23:45to go into it. He then talks about the people
- 23:47after Nabi ASA alayhi Salaam. He does the same thing.
- 23:50He gives them opportunity and opportunity even at that point.
- 23:54He then talks about the people the the people around the time
- 23:57of the holy Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi and he
- 24:00references if I'm not mistaken I can't remember which I probably
- 24:04around verse 80 ish. A last one to Allah mentions how
- 24:09these people in their previous scriptures, they were
- 24:12anticipating the arrival of the final messenger of the complete
- 24:16scripture and they were praying for him and awaiting him.
- 24:19And when he came, they even recognised him, yet they still
- 24:23rejected him. And to me, that kind of struck A
- 24:26chord with a Hadith we have in the rabbit and not Omani, which
- 24:30we mentioned on the podcast last year with say, Muhammad Bakar
- 24:33Koswini, where at the time of the whole of the Imam, those who
- 24:38are waiting for the Imam, praying for the Imam will tell
- 24:40him, go back on son of Fatima, the recognition of the Imam.
- 24:45You're waiting for him, you're praying for his behold.
- 24:47And then even when he comes, you'll still send him back.
- 24:49But Allah is continually saying that you have the opportunity at
- 24:52all times, even when it's in front of you.
- 24:55Don't allow yourself to fall into a pit of of of of arrogance
- 24:59and non gratitude and all of these key themes which we
- 25:02continually read and reflect in in the holy month of
- 25:05Shahramabhan. So this is something that I
- 25:06wanted to kind of just mentioned based on on what you're saying
- 25:10this. Theme in general, I think is a
- 25:11very important theme. And the reason I want to
- 25:16highlight one thing you said is because Sortel Bakara, many
- 25:19times we look at it as though it's a lengthy sura that doesn't
- 25:23necessarily have a specific topic like other sura are very
- 25:26clear. Surat al Qaeda is very clear.
- 25:27The topic of it is very clear. Surat al Insan even it's very
- 25:31clear. Surat Al Rahman, the topic of it
- 25:33is very clear. Swaratul Bakara Many claim that,
- 25:37for example, it doesn't have a clear topic.
- 25:39Even some well known mufaserin without mentioning names, claim
- 25:44that it doesn't have a specific topic and it just has multiple
- 25:46different topics within one sura.
- 25:49On the other hand, you have other mufaserin that's
- 25:51mentioned. No, it the topic of it is is
- 25:53very clear and the topic topic of it is the covenant.
- 25:56So the fact that you were able to, I think it's beautiful that
- 26:01you were able to do that. And some of us serene even link
- 26:04it to the fact that this is all a introduction to a covenant
- 26:09that you should have with the and that it actually ends up
- 26:13linking to. So the fact you were able to see
- 26:17this from it, I think is is is is is very nice.
- 26:19If I can just add as well, sorry.
- 26:21Yeah, yeah. No Of.
- 26:22Course, there's something in there like like there's so many
- 26:25things which stand out. You look at, for example, when
- 26:28Allah was talking about Nabi Adim Ali Salam and he's telling
- 26:32the angels tell me the names, they're saying what names and he
- 26:34tells nobody. Adam tell them the names.
- 26:36And then of course, and we haven't heard a Wyatt about the
- 26:38names that that be Adam. Alayhi Salaam is talking about
- 26:41the names of the Alehem Salaam. There's so many like key themes.
- 26:44I find it striking that people like you said, people like there
- 26:49are clear themes in my mind. Even for example, hopefully
- 26:53we'll do like when we talk about it.
- 26:55Well, I don't know verse 145 somewhere around that, you know,
- 26:59when nafsim minal Amwal and right when Allah says we will
- 27:04test you the. One that can be shared in Kofi
- 27:07will draw not one. Yeah, Bashar al Saabrin.
- 27:11Bashar al Saabarin, forgive my Arabic, but these are clear
- 27:15things which like stand out to us that even in these moments,
- 27:17you know. Speaking of if I can say
- 27:19something, I heard a story not long ago where a Shaheed
- 27:24Ayatullah said Sadak al Kazwini Bahmatullah Ali who was in the
- 27:29prisons of Saddam, not Salah Ali and may Allah curse him and
- 27:34beyond. He was in the prisons and he was
- 27:37praying a Salah to duo. We know Salah al Kafiida and
- 27:41Salah Salah to duo. Sheikh can inform us is Mustahab
- 27:46Salah of hunger. When you are in extreme hunger,
- 27:50you read the Salah and one thing is being grateful when you are,
- 27:55when you have things, you know, we have electronics and gadgets
- 27:58and we have family and friends and access to knowledge and all
- 28:02these butter because we've got but to when you don't have
- 28:04something and when you're in the case of hardship and being
- 28:08tested, then at that point do Hamden Shukla.
- 28:11The last panel to Allah is a completely different macam which
- 28:15we have to try and reach. But these are small tricks and
- 28:17tips which I've learned from from this.
- 28:19Which sometimes, by the way, we turn to these types of themes in
- 28:24times of hardship because we think that this is the way that
- 28:28we can come out. And I, I want to mention that
- 28:31specifically because sometimes in times of difficulty, we feel
- 28:36ourself closer to Allah Azzawajal.
- 28:40But closer in what sense am I closer to Allah Spahnutt Allah
- 28:44because I'm genuinely feeling closer to him, or because he is
- 28:47my only hope now? And if he is my only hope, is it
- 28:51because I've recognized he's my only hope such that I am going
- 28:54to continue only sticking to him and only lending my hand out to
- 28:58him? Or is it that no, Get Me Out of
- 29:01this and then Allah Karim? We'll see how it goes from
- 29:03there. Because this theme is actually
- 29:05spoken about in the Quran as well.
- 29:07Even in Swarat al Bakara and Swarat Al Nisar, I believe it's
- 29:12spoken about. But before I get into that,
- 29:15actually because you mentioned Hamd and Shukar as well, I'm
- 29:18very specific with my words. I'm sorry.
- 29:21Shukar as well is very different to Hamd.
- 29:24Hamd, we said is actually, let me test you guys.
- 29:27What's Hamd? Praise.
- 29:29Praise. That's the translation.
- 29:30What does it mean? What am I praising?
- 29:34What am I mentioning? You're doing praise of Allah's
- 29:38attributes. I sense an intrinsic, an
- 29:40intrinsic attribute. I am praising Shukur is not
- 29:44necessarily that Shukur is thanking someone or any being or
- 29:50Allah azzawajal for something that has already been done.
- 29:54I don't thank for something that is going to happen in the
- 29:57future, I don't thank. I don't thank you for, for
- 30:01example, being tool. That's not something I thank you
- 30:04for. I don't thank you for having a
- 30:06specific attribute. I can praise an individual for
- 30:09having a specific attribute, but thanking needs to be in return
- 30:13for something. So when something is done, I
- 30:16thank. Which is why in the Quran when
- 30:17it talks about Shukur, it either talks about Shukur in in the
- 30:22past ten such that something has happened and a person has thanks
- 30:25for it, or the fact that I will be of those that will thank in
- 30:29the future if you do this for me.
- 30:31So which is why when you mention, for example,
- 30:34difficulties and all of these things that O Allah, save us
- 30:37from this tribulation that we are in in a Kuna Mina Shakari
- 30:41and I will be of those that are thankful.
- 30:43Thankful for what? Thankful for you taking me out
- 30:46of this hardship. Look at those verses many times
- 30:49you'll see the verses after it because I said he's becomes our
- 30:52only hope, but in what sense is he our only hope?
- 30:55Have I recognized it or is it something I just want to use for
- 30:57now? The next verses talk about that.
- 31:00After that they became of the Musharraq king.
- 31:03Even in in one of the verses. I'm I want to try remember it
- 31:08now. I'll I'll probably remember it
- 31:09in a SEC. But the theme of the verse is
- 31:11about parents making dua for Allah azzawajal to give them a
- 31:17good son. Then the Quran says when he gave
- 31:23them a good son, when he gave them a salahan, this is the
- 31:26exact word he uses. When he gave them a salahan,
- 31:29they went back on the shirk. So that concept of I see that
- 31:33rope of Allah azza wajal, and I see that this rope is the only
- 31:36rope that is given out to me right now.
- 31:39What am I going to do with it? Once I thank and once I am, I am
- 31:44praising Allah azza Wajal because I've recognized that
- 31:47this is something worthy of praising Allah Azza Wajal for
- 31:50this is worthy of thanking him for.
- 31:52And once it's LA, I just say, Get Me Out of this and then
- 31:55we'll see how it goes. And the problem is when that
- 31:58happens, when I haven't recognized that Allah Azzawajal
- 32:01Adinde is my only savior. Allah Azzawajal is my only
- 32:04helper. Allah Azzawajal is the only one
- 32:06I can seek true aid from. I will fall into that issue
- 32:11because then I feel like as though there will be other ways
- 32:13that I can receive aid or, you know, which is why the, the, the
- 32:17illness of arrogance. How does it come?
- 32:20The illness of arrogance is that there is God and there's me.
- 32:24This is the the danger of the illness of arrogance is this.
- 32:27There's God and there's me. Which is why the most arrogant
- 32:30that the Quran speaks about is Farhoun, For example, Anarabuka
- 32:33Malala, other than Iblis, of course, Anarabuka Malala,
- 32:36there's God and there's me. Did he not recognize there's a
- 32:39God when he said Anarabuka Malala?
- 32:41I ask, when he said Anarabuka Malala, did he not know that
- 32:44there is another God? Hold the the the the evidence
- 32:50was made clear to him, the miracles were shown in front of
- 32:53him. Moussa and Haron 2 prophets not
- 32:551-2 prophets came to him. Or later when he realized there
- 33:00is no hope and there is no rope but the rope of Allah al an Amen
- 33:04to Berabi mussa or haron. Too late now.
- 33:09He tried to cling on that later and I had to.
- 33:12Why? Maybe he'll be of those that are
- 33:13thankful after that and maybe what he'll go back to that shirt
- 33:18that he was in. These themes in the Quran like
- 33:21you mentioned are very important to try and take out and apply to
- 33:25our self because we are all going through difficulties.
- 33:29We are all going through specific circumstances and I
- 33:31say, oh Allah, do this for me and I will do something as well
- 33:34in return. What type of deal am I trying to
- 33:37strike with God? Yeah, that's so true.
- 33:39No, and Charlotte, we're not a transactional and our you know
- 33:42and our bother reliance and to work cool and trust and praise
- 33:46and thankfulness and gratitude to our last one of that.
- 33:48It's nice. It's nice.
- 33:49I've never heard it from this way.
- 33:51She has now, which I think if I can ask just on this, since
- 33:54we're talking about these different themes on Shukur, is
- 33:57there a way where it becomes more than just on the tongue?
- 34:00It's not just an expression. We just say Hamdallah, shukur
- 34:03and Allah. Is there a way where we can
- 34:05manifest that into our action? Perhaps maybe they're a little
- 34:08bit alayhi musalam. Give us a few methods and tips
- 34:11and tricks that we can implement in our lives.
- 34:12Once is asking is there a way and once I say there is no way,
- 34:16but this way, a law Shukur can't be with the tongue.
- 34:19Shukur praise is with the tongue.
- 34:22Praise hand. I can't really do much more than
- 34:24this. That's it, Praise is finished.
- 34:28Shukur can't be in that way. Shukur has stages.
- 34:32The Quran refers to stages. The narrations of the Arab bait
- 34:36refer to stages. The one, the Quran, not in
- 34:39specific wording does it refer to stages, but in terms of the
- 34:42meanings of the verses. You can see that, for example,
- 34:45in Nahade Nahu Najdin Emma Shah Kiran.
- 34:49What Emma Kafura, we have given him and we have guided him to
- 34:55the two paths. It's clear in front of you now.
- 34:58Either you are going to be Sharker, either you're going to
- 35:01be thankful or you're going to be Kafur Taman.
- 35:04Kafur here and it's a repeated thing in the Quran.
- 35:07Not every time it speaks about a kafir in the Quran.
- 35:10Does it mean a kafir? A person who does not believe in
- 35:12Allah. Could be concealing.
- 35:14Concealing what the meaning of kufur is to conceal something
- 35:17after is made apparent, which is why Allah azza wajal inna had E
- 35:20Nah, who's sabeel? We have shown him the way.
- 35:24I said Najdeen I think earlier and Najde na, who's Sabeel?
- 35:27In my shakaranwa in ma kafura, we have shown him the way.
- 35:31We have guided him towards the way.
- 35:33It's been made very clear to them.
- 35:35So here they are concealing something.
- 35:37After they were guided, they did kufur.
- 35:40This kufur is what we call al kufur banana to conceal
- 35:46something that Allah Azzawajal has granted me of blessings.
- 35:50The other one is what shakur to be thankful to Allah azzawajal.
- 35:55So now we've seen in the Quran already we have shukur, and on
- 35:59the other side we have shirk in the example of the one who made
- 36:05for Allah, azza wajal to give them a good sum.
- 36:07And now we have shukur and in parallel to it you have what?
- 36:12Kufur. So now you see that kufur and
- 36:15shirk, those two heavy words are used directly against what?
- 36:19A concept of shukur. How likely do we take shukur, by
- 36:22the way? Very.
- 36:22And especially when you read it, recognize it in this way.
- 36:25So either you're going to be shakur, you're going to be of
- 36:28those who are thankful, or you're going to be of those who
- 36:30are careful. Then how can I be Shakur and is
- 36:34it possible for Allah Azza Wajal to guide me to the way?
- 36:37When a way is shown to me, I can't just stare at you, I need
- 36:39to walk in that way, right? So therefore Shakur requires
- 36:43action. Shakur without action is not
- 36:46possible, which is why many narrations of the Elbeit also
- 36:50talk about the concept of Kufur. Banana is when you don't use
- 36:54something Allah Azza Wajal gave you in the manner that it was
- 36:58supposed to be used. Even verses in the Quran talk
- 37:02about how Allah Azza Wajal gave us eyes and gave us hearing so
- 37:06that he can see who is shakur. Even in the verse of the one
- 37:16when they brought the Irish to Suleiman and then he says haddam
- 37:22and fatherly rabbi, he says this is from the favors of my Lord
- 37:26upon me. Then what does he say?
- 37:28He says for him to see if I am thankful to him, then to see if
- 37:34I am thankful to him. Who?
- 37:35It can't be just by saying Shokranullah, it requires
- 37:38action. Which is why if Allah Azzawajal
- 37:41has given me these eyes, if he has given me these ears, if he's
- 37:44given me this body, if he's given me this tongue, what am I
- 37:47using it for? Allah has guided me to the way.
- 37:50Either I am thankful and realize it's a general thing.
- 37:53It's not specific to something specific in the head.
- 37:56Now who sibil? This sibil is 1.
- 37:58The way is one. Either I am thankful or I am
- 38:02going to be careful of banana. To be thankful is to use what
- 38:06Allah Azza Wajal has given me of of blessings and the manner that
- 38:10they are required to be used. To be careful of banana is to
- 38:13use it in another way and you can use this example as well
- 38:16today if anyone give gives you a gift.
- 38:19We were blessed enough to receive a little gift from Ahmed
- 38:22just before we started this podcast.
- 38:24Now imagine, no genuinely, now imagine he gave us this gift.
- 38:28So for the viewers, he gave us a little perfume that smells
- 38:32extremely nice. Can they order it on aftermath
- 38:35ribbon? No, actually, our Mystic.
- 38:38Shout out to our Mystic. Yeah, yeah.
- 38:40So he gave. So imagine he gave that to me.
- 38:44The first thing that both Sid Ali and I did was what?
- 38:47We put it straight away on our wrists and we rubbed it and we
- 38:51smelt it and we said Jazakallahu, this is very nice.
- 38:55Now imagine I took this and I just put it to the site and I
- 38:59said thank you. The difference between those two
- 39:02thank you's is very big. One, you feel that I was truly
- 39:06thankful and the other maybe he was thankful.
- 39:10Now imagine I said thank you for this gift and threw in the bin.
- 39:13Yeah. I'm not really thankful there.
- 39:16Imagine you give a camera to a specific person as a gift.
- 39:19Said much Taba. Said Much Taba.
- 39:21We give. We give him a gift, a camera.
- 39:25He's praying for 4K cameras. 4K cameras, but that's for the
- 39:28viewers. Inshallah they can do it and get
- 39:31him a gift. When is his birthday all for it
- 39:34maybe yeah yeah for 8. So anyway.
- 39:37So imagine you give him a camera.
- 39:38Now, once you use that camera for content like this, for
- 39:41example, content that's in the remembrance of Allah Azza or
- 39:45doesn't have to be, it is for taking good pictures, for taking
- 39:47nice pictures, for taking pictures of nature, family
- 39:50pictures, whatever. It is something where a person
- 39:53can see they have used this camera in a way that it is
- 39:56useful. You say they were thankful even
- 39:59if they didn't say Shukla. Whereas if a person took that
- 40:03camera and started taking pictures of little flow bits or
- 40:07whatever it may be or not used it at all, but I want to use the
- 40:10example of using it. Taking pictures of floor.
- 40:14Taking pictures of for example dots on a wall or whatever.
- 40:17Mocking it as. He said Shukran.
- 40:19Yeah. Are they thankful or not?
- 40:21This is the concept of thankfulness.
- 40:23Likewise the human being. So you.
- 40:25Want no no for that. No, I'll remember my train.
- 40:27Of no, no, please. I'll, I'll go on.
- 40:29OK, likewise a human being. The shocker that a human being
- 40:34performs comes in in one of two ways.
- 40:38Either it is that which is done by the tongue by itself, or it
- 40:41is that which is accompanied by action.
- 40:43That action usually reflects true thankfulness.
- 40:47The example is found within nature.
- 40:50Today you have what we call sugar tequini.
- 40:53What is sugar tequini? Sugar tequini means I plant a
- 40:57seed, the seed that I'm planting, or let's say 2 seeds.
- 41:01Even better example, I plant 2 seeds, one next to the other.
- 41:04They're both receiving the same amount of water.
- 41:07They're both receiving the same amount of sunlight.
- 41:10They're both receiving the same amount of care. 1 grows and the
- 41:14other it's really struggling to grow.
- 41:17A wind blows, one stays firm, the other starts going sideways.
- 41:24I fix it. It's been a year, it's been a
- 41:27year. I'm still giving them both the
- 41:29exact same type of care. One of them is now continued
- 41:33continuing to grow in a steady form.
- 41:36The other one keeps bending, slowing down, going yellow, and
- 41:40then I want to make it green again and all of that.
- 41:42Which one is thankful? The one that continued to grow
- 41:47is thankful. Allah Azzawajal does what in
- 41:50this case for us, what do we do? We start giving it more care.
- 41:54The more thankful we see it the queen and to be, the more care
- 41:57we start giving it until it grows to become a beautiful
- 42:01tree. Likewise, the apartment, the
- 42:03more the slave of Allah Azza Wajal, the more thankful they
- 42:06show themselves to be. Not the more times they say
- 42:09shukran, shukran, Shukran, the more thankful they show
- 42:11themselves to be, the more Allah Azza Wajal gives them.
- 42:15While in Shakarto, let us see them.
- 42:17If you are thankful, I will give you more.
- 42:20How does that give you more happen?
- 42:21By showing him that I am thankful the more I perform
- 42:25things that are in line with what Allah Azza Wajal wants, the
- 42:28more I grow in that steady manner, the more Allah has
- 42:31already gives me. And he says they are ready for
- 42:33more. They are ready for more care.
- 42:35They're ready for more water. They're ready for to to for
- 42:37example, bear these beautiful fruits that I'm about to give my
- 42:42slave. I cut you off twice by.
- 42:44The time that's. You need speaking.
- 42:47Sorry, I mean something you mentioned and you repeated the,
- 42:52the, the concept of a Chakarin and the references in the Holy
- 42:56of Quran. And of course we see throughout
- 42:58the holy of Quran that this term Sharkarin, it's used in
- 43:03reference, of course, to those who are thankful, not the ones
- 43:06who give thanks, but those who Allah defines as a noun.
- 43:10He talks about the Sharkarin not as an adjective to people.
- 43:13He says the ones who are thanking or the ones who give
- 43:15thanks, or rather the thankful ones, which of course is again
- 43:19not limited by time. These are the thankful ones.
- 43:22The Quran is a book eternally so for example, the the references
- 43:27to Amiramat Manin and the Hoda Quran, One of them is Ashakarin.
- 43:30We've seen after the battle of Ahad our last month, Allah talks
- 43:33about Ashakarin, the ones who did not run away from the
- 43:36battle. Amiramat Manin of course was
- 43:38victorious and he keeps that legacy until this day and
- 43:41forever. I wanted to ask specifically
- 43:45what it is, how to become. Firstly, if it's possible to
- 43:48attain this or if it's reserved for those who are of a Haimakan,
- 43:52those who are Mahsalom and Oliya Allah.
- 43:54And secondly, if it is possible, is it possible to attain it
- 43:59through the action? So for example, showing you know
- 44:02your action, action speak louder the words rather than just doing
- 44:05our hand, but our action of shocker, is that our route to it
- 44:08or is there, for example, higher keys, higher stations which we
- 44:12can achieve? I know you gave a reference as
- 44:14well to Anna and me versus God and the the Neffs and the ego
- 44:22that we have. I find it very interesting that
- 44:24there's and I remembered something when you were
- 44:26speaking. There are verses in the Holy
- 44:28Quran. Forgive me for I forget this
- 44:31order where Nabi Ibrahim Aleh Salaam is speaking to our last
- 44:37panel with Allah. And he says, as I paraphrase, he
- 44:42asks Allah to to make sure that he does not fall into idol
- 44:47worship, nor he nor his sons. And we see in the holy Quran.
- 44:52Sounds like, you know, a normal verse.
- 44:54And of course, there's been so much discussion on this verse.
- 44:56Some have said that Nabi Ibrahim Alayhi Salaam is trying to
- 45:00remain humble. You know, maybe he doesn't fall
- 45:02into sin, but of course, you know, he's who he is my soul,
- 45:06you know, So that's a disputed. Others say no, you know, you
- 45:09have the the lineage of and, and the verses following then talk
- 45:13about those who do not stay true to Allah spa and to Allah.
- 45:16But maybe the lineage of Nabi Ibrahim does not fall into idol
- 45:20worship. But then there is some tafasir.
- 45:24I think Aitullah Mehdi Thabati, if I'm not mistaken, references
- 45:28that the idol worship in this verse refers to the neffs, and
- 45:33that the neffs in itself can be seen as a form of idol, the
- 45:36greatest idol. Like when you're cutting down a
- 45:38tree, you start with the branches and then eventually cut
- 45:42the root, right? So the branches in these cases
- 45:44are what feeds the Neffs, the addictions we have.
- 45:48You know, the, the name, the reputation, what I am.
- 45:51I'm consuming myself as a source of comfort for my soul, for
- 45:55myself, such that I then turn to this as my pride and my SO as my
- 46:01God. In many ways, my reputation is
- 46:04my God. It gives me a sense of ego and
- 46:06pride. My work gives me income.
- 46:08My income is my then God, it's my sustainer, my provider, so on
- 46:13and so forth. You then look at your addictions
- 46:15as a source of comfort. Your return is then your
- 46:18substance abuse, your screen time, the lust for the opposite
- 46:22gender. All of these things become the
- 46:24idols within us, and you can't then return to talk, read in the
- 46:28last panel to Allah until we break these idols of our nerves.
- 46:31So I wanted to ask whether that kind of assumption, this
- 46:35understanding that I've had is correct both in the sense of a
- 46:39Shah Karin and reaching Allah span to Allah through the
- 46:42repetition and the class of the actions we have.
- 46:47And also whether it's it's a correct assumption to understand
- 46:51that we first have to remove the idols from within before finding
- 46:55true shocker and being able to manifest that.
- 46:59It's a deep question. Sorry.
- 47:00No, no, it is. It's it's a deep and good
- 47:03question. So first of all, the concept of
- 47:06Shah Karin Kosurat Al Imran talks about this, which you
- 47:11mentioned as well. And Allah Azza Wajal mentions in
- 47:15the in and and the reason I want to mention this is because I
- 47:18think it's a beautiful sometimes to read the full verse that
- 47:22gives us a different understanding of something We've
- 47:25all memorized the verse Wama Muhammad and Ilah Rasoolan.
- 47:34The end of the verse is wased Zillah Shakuri and Allah will
- 47:39grant good reward to those who are thankful and the one.
- 47:43By the way, interestingly, you don't always find verses that
- 47:47end with the same word verse after verse, whereas shakurin is
- 47:52used again in the verse after it.
- 47:54So I think this is verse 144. Then verse 145 mentions it ends
- 47:59with the shakurin again. So it's as though this theme is
- 48:02something very specific that Allah Azzawajal wants to
- 48:05emphasize on, which is those who are thankful.
- 48:07Again, who are those that are thankful, those who have
- 48:10accepted Allah Azza Wajal's decree, those who have accepted
- 48:14what Allah Azza Wajal wanted from them because the verses,
- 48:17those verses are talking about what they're talking about.
- 48:19Those, you know, for example, said we want to die in the way
- 48:22of Allah Azza Wajal and others then became scared of death.
- 48:25Those who saw better Allah Azza Wajal strengthened the army of
- 48:29the Muslims and they became victorious.
- 48:31They said, do you know what, we're going to gather a lot of
- 48:33money. And now as well, because they
- 48:35saw the Muslim mean they went out and they were able to gather
- 48:37the war bounties and all of that.
- 48:39And they lived in poverty for a for a while at least then how it
- 48:44comes and how they're like this is a perfect opportunity.
- 48:47Let me let me get more such that they forget that their main
- 48:52priority is what protecting Rasulullah sallallahu alaihi
- 48:56wasallam. Because without Rasulullah
- 48:58sallallahu alaihi wasallam, there is no meaning to you.
- 49:02There is. You are no one without the holy
- 49:04messenger, which is why even when they thought they became
- 49:09victorious and the Holy Prophet orders them, stay on the on the
- 49:13mountain, don't come down from the mountain.
- 49:16They said the wars ended. Habibi, we've won, we've won,
- 49:19we've won, the Muslims have won. Let's go get the war bounties
- 49:22Before what? Before the other stake.
- 49:25This is the action of those who are thankful before others take.
- 49:29So they come down and because of that, Khalid is able to come and
- 49:33run through the back. And then the Muslims were
- 49:36defeated in that in that war. Why?
- 49:38Because of a moment of greed. Greed, yeah.
- 49:41That greed took them away from thankfulness.
- 49:43Then this idea of Muhammad has been hit and all of these
- 49:46things. The verse comes Muhammad and
- 49:49Illah Rashoudam, but Khalid man Kabli her Rosso messengers, many
- 49:53messengers came before him after in Mata al Khotel.
- 49:56If he was to die or in fact he was killed in Kaleptum, Allah
- 50:00Kabico, he will turn back over your heels.
- 50:03Except for a few, they will not turn back over their heels
- 50:08because this is generalizing that all of you are going to
- 50:11turn back over your heels. So therefore, we can assume from
- 50:14that, that all of those who are there are those who are what
- 50:18turn back over their heels. I need to find an exception to
- 50:22find if a certain individual did not turn back over their heels
- 50:25or not. This is a separate point, but
- 50:27it's a very important thing for us to notice from this Quranic
- 50:31verse. So anyway, so those who are
- 50:33thankful were who those who are able to abide by what the
- 50:37Messenger of Allah wanted from them, those who are able to
- 50:40stick with the Messenger of Allah, Azzawajal.
- 50:43This doesn't just apply to the Shahad to to to the Shahadat of
- 50:46Ohad or to those who remained with Rasulullah and Ohad, namely
- 50:49Amiran mummy in Salawatullah. This applies to an individual
- 50:53and is a lesson to an individual who is able to take Rasulullah
- 50:56Salallah Aliwar as that individual that they always want
- 51:00to protect. When I say protect, I have a
- 51:03role of protecting Rasulullah. I have a role of protecting the
- 51:07image of Rasulullah. I have a role of protecting the
- 51:10image of the holy household, Kono Zain and Lena Velata, Kono,
- 51:14Shane and Elena. This is the role that I have.
- 51:17Be the creation towards the Elobate.
- 51:19Don't be a bad example to us, the Elobate.
- 51:21This is one thing I have. I have been blessed to be
- 51:24called, to be called at least named a Shia out of Emiram,
- 51:28meaning a Shia out of Rasulullah, A Shia out of Fatima
- 51:31to Zara. Now over the Imams.
- 51:33Am I thankful for it? Because Allah is saying what the
- 51:38reward will be granted for him, a Shah Karim, those who are
- 51:42thankful. You mentioned for example
- 51:44Ibrahim. Ibrahim, when the Quran talks
- 51:46about him, what does he say? Allah Azza was just in Ibrahim.
- 51:54Do we realize the magnitude of this in Ibrahim Akane Umm?
- 51:59He was a nation by himself. This is Ibrahim, He was a nation
- 52:03by himself. What were his attributes?
- 52:05Continue the verse. This is why I say we sometimes
- 52:07we just mention specific verses and we've only memorized parts
- 52:10of them. In Ibrahim Akane Umm, he was in
- 52:16constant supplication to Allah Hanifan.
- 52:19He was on the straight path. He was on the straight path in
- 52:24the head of Allah Azzawajal. Well, let me a criminal
- 52:26Musharakin and he was not over those who associated partners
- 52:30with Allah Azzawajal move to the next verse Shah Karandi and
- 52:34Omihi. He was thankful for the bounties
- 52:38that we sent up on him. These are the qualities that
- 52:42made Ibrahim what EU Ummah EU Ummah Kanitanila in constant
- 52:48supplication to Allah Azzawajal Hanifan upon the straight path.
- 52:54Let me come in and mushrikin. He was not of those who
- 52:57associates partners with Allah Azzawajal Shah, currently Anomi.
- 53:01He was thankful for the Nam that were given to him.
- 53:04So likewise an individual when they come and they are in a
- 53:07state of thankfulness in their action, they will also be known
- 53:12as a slave. Who is what?
- 53:14Who is thankful? Allah reminds his Prophet
- 53:17sometimes be of those who are thankful.
- 53:19When he speaks to Musa and he gives him the message, then he
- 53:22says welcome in a Shah Karin and be of those who are thankful.
- 53:26I'll give you actually a nice hadith.
- 53:29There's a narration from Imam Al Baqar Ali Salam.
- 53:33I remember reading this a few months ago when he speaks about
- 53:37Noah Alihiwala Nabinawa Ali of the Rasati Wasalam.
- 53:40He says no Every time he used to go to sleep at night before he
- 53:45sleeps, he used to say I am ending my day by praising Allah
- 53:50Azzawajal. I am ending my day by praising
- 53:54Allah Azzawajal knowing that everything that I received today
- 53:57is from him. So to him I am grateful and him
- 54:01I thank a lot. What does the Quran say about
- 54:04Nuh In Nuhukana Abdenshakura? He was a thankful slave.
- 54:11Everything comes back to Shukar. Everything goes back to shukar,
- 54:15enna, hadina, Husabin. I go back to this.
- 54:20At the end of the day, a man is not a man if he is not Shakur,
- 54:29because you cannot be a movement if you are not thankful because
- 54:32Iman Iman is different to Islam. Once I say I am Muslim, well
- 54:39done Muslim. A moment is who a moment is.
- 54:43The one who applies the two shahada to their life is the
- 54:48individual who abides by Allah, Allah.
- 54:50Allah abides by Muhammad. Rasulullah the Arab said we
- 54:55believed, just hold on one second, you haven't believed yet
- 55:01why Iman hasn't yet entered your hearts.
- 55:09So what should we say? I can call you Aslam now we say
- 55:12what we are Muslim. What was the prerequisite for
- 55:15them to be called a men for it to enter their hearts?
- 55:18Because supposedly when Iman enters your hearts and when that
- 55:23it becomes firm and I believe truly Allah, Allah, I'm not
- 55:27going to start missing my prayer.
- 55:29When I truly believe la ilaha Illallah and I know it is a sin
- 55:33to not wear hijab, I'm not going to take off my hijab.
- 55:36When I know la ilaha illallah and I know it is a sin to go to
- 55:39drugs and alcohol. I'm not going to touch drugs and
- 55:42alcohol when I know la ilaha illallah and I know there is no
- 55:45one worthy of worshipping, but Allah has awarded.
- 55:47I'm not going to go into these things.
- 55:50This is a person who is Shakur and this is a person who is
- 55:52kafir. Kafir not.
- 55:55Again, I don't want you to be misunderstood.
- 55:57Not kafir in the sense that a person who does this is out of
- 56:00Islam. No, they are Muslim, but they
- 56:02cannot be described as what a mukmen, because a mukmen is the
- 56:07one who abides by what Allah. Azzawajal wants a nice
- 56:12narration. Zorara comes to Imam Musad Ali
- 56:16Sanam, he says have you heard the narration from your
- 56:21grandfather Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi wasallam in
- 56:24which he said that a muttman realized not a Muslim, a
- 56:29muttman. In al Muttman Alayazni, a
- 56:32muttman does not fornicate. And this narration is also
- 56:36mentioned with other kabar with other major sins.
- 56:40But this specific narration I'll mention like this al Muttman
- 56:44Lazni, a muttman does not fornicate.
- 56:46He says, yes, Alphard, He said to him, why, Why would the men
- 56:50not do Xena? Why would they not go to this
- 56:53major sin? He said the soul of Iman comes
- 57:00out of that individual. So Lara asks him an interesting
- 57:05question that I think both of you are thinking about.
- 57:07I thought about it as well, he says, and what is royal Iman?
- 57:11What is the soul of Iman? That or spirit of Iman, however
- 57:14you want to translate it. Imam Musadiq says who has
- 57:17Sheikh, it is something and he looks a bit and he says Zorara
- 57:22come let me tell you something, I'll bring the idea closer to
- 57:25you. Zorara, have you ever gone to a
- 57:28sin and as you are about to perform that sin, something
- 57:32tells you stop says yes, that's all Iman.
- 57:37So Wamutman therefore does not commit major sins according to
- 57:42this Quranic verse we recited. According to this narration,
- 57:46amotment does not commit major sins.
- 57:48Therefore, therefore we need to be sharker to be what amotment.
- 57:53So the prerequisite of attaining Allah's true mercy is to be
- 57:58thankful. That thankfulness is not me
- 58:00saying shukran Linda, that thankfulness is through my
- 58:03actions. I am thankful.
- 58:06I have can I interrupt? Please.
- 58:09I have a philosophical question. I know we're like we're deep in
- 58:12and but I want to ask something specifically.
- 58:14You want to go deeper. Yeah, I want to go, Yeah,
- 58:17especially Rohit Iman. OK, I know for example Mullah
- 58:20Savla and I know for example a lot of his theories are debated
- 58:24to some degree. Yeah, he talks about Iman as
- 58:27kind of like a mirror reflecting mirror.
- 58:29And there is different stages, but the the mirror is the
- 58:31reflection of in sun and and the Iman right.
- 58:35He says that some of these major sins once they're committed,
- 58:40Rohan Iman is gone, that there is no point of return ever for
- 58:44such Muslim mean. What may mean ever?
- 58:47Is that a mainstream belief or what is the mainstream?
- 58:50The hadith, The hadith we have from the Elbeit Ali mother's
- 58:54house, where Salaam show that there is potential for Rohan
- 58:56Iman to come back, especially when a person comes back to
- 59:01abiding to that which Allah Azza Wajal wants from them.
- 59:04This is something that is in my hands.
- 59:06We have a narration from our beloved Prophet Muhammad
- 59:10sallallahu alaihi wasallam, when he talks about Iman and then he
- 59:14says who I'm in, it is from them.
- 59:16They are in control of it, I control it.
- 59:19The only issue I might get into is if I constantly don't listen
- 59:23to that a voice within my head that that tells me this is
- 59:27Haram, don't do this, change this, do that.
- 59:29And the fact that I always delay, sometimes even changing
- 59:34is another thing. Sometimes I recognize I am doing
- 59:36something wrong, but I delay changing based on what am I
- 59:41delaying based on what am I delaying.
- 59:44And I just wanted to be clear, when I'm speaking, I'm not
- 59:47speaking from a, a a point of perfection.
- 59:49No, not at all. There's many things that I want
- 59:52to change, but we need to what always try to, let me say, run
- 59:58towards change, Sarah, O Allah, Mahfirat Allah, run towards the
- 1:00:03mercy of Allah, run towards Allah's forgiveness.
- 1:00:06Because I didn't do what? What is it within me that tells
- 1:00:09me that I have so much time left?
- 1:00:11I mean, how many times have we seen within our community alone,
- 1:00:16how many people have passed? And there's this narration where
- 1:00:19Salman comes to the Holy Prophet.
- 1:00:22The Holy Prophet asks Salman. He says, Salman, how far do you
- 1:00:26look into this life? He says Semiya Rasulullah, when
- 1:00:31I wake up, I don't know if I'll go back to sleep.
- 1:00:33And if I sleep I don't know if I'll wake up.
- 1:00:35That's how far Salman looked. And we think of this and like,
- 1:00:38wow, Salman looked so far into this life.
- 1:00:41Rasulullah says you think so far into this life?
- 1:00:47He says ya Rasulullah, if this is so far into this life, how
- 1:00:52far do you look into this life? Yara Sulla, He says Yenzil and
- 1:00:55Nefesfalaya site. I breathe out, I don't breathe
- 1:00:59in again. That's how far I look into this
- 1:01:01life. So we always need to rush
- 1:01:04towards change. We need because there's nothing
- 1:01:06that is going to guarantee. So put that to the site.
- 1:01:09The fact that Rohal Iman or Rohal Iman can come back by a
- 1:01:12person changing what they are doing.
- 1:01:15But were the points that I was making is that Shukar is now a
- 1:01:19prerequisite of Iman. The fact that Allah Azza Wajal
- 1:01:22talks about those who are receiving blessings from Allah
- 1:01:29Azza Wajal or who are those who are Shakur.
- 1:01:31In fact, actually let's open Sortel Insan together.
- 1:01:35So what actually insan because I referenced this verse a few
- 1:01:39Times Now, it will be nice to open it.
- 1:01:42My Quran app is not opening, so we'll open one of your funds.
- 1:01:46Sure. So if you if you just read the
- 1:01:51translation, it's fine. So go from verse, I think three.
- 1:01:55Yeah, verse three if you read it.
- 1:01:58Should I read out the English? Yeah, yeah, sure.
- 1:02:00OK, We already showed them the way, whether they choose to be
- 1:02:04grateful or ungrateful. So in Mashaqiran, we're in
- 1:02:08Makafora. This is the situation we're in
- 1:02:10right now, the next vest vestful.
- 1:02:12Indeed, we have prepared for the disbelievers, chains, shackles
- 1:02:15and a blazing fire this. Is for who?
- 1:02:17For the one who is not thankful, so the one who is not thankful,
- 1:02:21this is there, This is for example, what they will receive,
- 1:02:24then the next of us. Indeed, the virtuous will be
- 1:02:28with Asia Chakaron. The virtuous will have a drink
- 1:02:31of pure wine flavoured with camphor from a spring where our
- 1:02:35last servants will drink, flowing at their will.
- 1:02:37Continue. They are those who fulfill their
- 1:02:39vows and a fear of the day of sweeping horror, and give food,
- 1:02:43despite their desire for it, to the poor, the orphan, and the
- 1:02:46captive Acid. And then it continues and
- 1:02:48mentions, mentions all of these qualities.
- 1:02:50So therefore that great Rd. in the hereafter is for who?
- 1:02:54For Shakur, of course, because Allah said it's one of two
- 1:02:57things in my Shakuran, in my kaphura.
- 1:03:00So those even those blessings that you get within the within
- 1:03:04the heavens of Allah Hazawajal are related to who are related
- 1:03:08to the one who is thankful. But to realize those who are
- 1:03:12thankful have qualities. They help people.
- 1:03:15They are fearful of Allah Hazawajal.
- 1:03:17They don't just sit there like saying hey, Allah Hazawajal will
- 1:03:20sort it out. That's me being shocked.
- 1:03:22No, no, no, they're fearful of Allah, I think it mentioned and
- 1:03:25are fearful of his chastisement or.
- 1:03:27Yeah. So this is something that we
- 1:03:30have to be always aware of. This is true.
- 1:03:32Thanks to Allah. Yeah, sorry.
- 1:03:35Sorry, Shekhar, I was going to ask.
- 1:03:36Sorry. You have to cut me off right
- 1:03:38away, because if you don't cut me off, I'll keep talking.
- 1:03:40OK, I want to ask something specifically in regards to the
- 1:03:43AHL debate, Ahim Salaam. And I think this is probably I,
- 1:03:46I don't want to stop, but I think this is probably a good
- 1:03:48area to to kind of bring it back to, to perhaps principles and
- 1:03:52stories we're more familiar with.
- 1:03:54We look at for example, say the Fatima Ali Salah to Saddam in in
- 1:03:59her sermon of Faddek, which I know you have studied in depth
- 1:04:02and you've got an incredible series.
- 1:04:04We've done 3 lectures, 3 part series on on the on Faddek here
- 1:04:08if I'm not mistaken. I've done A5 part.
- 1:04:10Five part series on Faddek, which is really.
- 1:04:12Introduction of the sermon. Yeah, and the beginning, of
- 1:04:15course, where say the Fatima says Hamdullah and Hamdulillahi
- 1:04:20Levi Anam and she's talking about the blessings which our
- 1:04:23last man to Allah gives her. Despite the fact that these are
- 1:04:26people who try to tarnish her blessed and pure reputation and
- 1:04:30her distinguished name and those who, for example, took her
- 1:04:32rights and try to confiscate what was right for the hers.
- 1:04:35But she begins with the the the hand of Allah and then she goes
- 1:04:40into Shakur, if I'm not mistaken.
- 1:04:42And of course, there's ample to ours in Sahifa Sajadiya where we
- 1:04:47see Imam Sajad after the battle of Karbala repeatedly thanking
- 1:04:51Allah span to Allah, praising and thanking Allah span to Allah
- 1:04:54for all that he's given. And these are two moments in
- 1:04:56times of hardship. Before we started the podcast,
- 1:04:59you were talking to me about how to remember and connect with
- 1:05:04Allah Spanotallah in moments of distress.
- 1:05:07And you mentioned to me that the remembrance and the most siba
- 1:05:10overwhile Hussein Aleh Salaam, it takes you to a place where
- 1:05:15you, your soul should be. It relieves your soul.
- 1:05:18And of course, you're doing the dhikr and Musiba Abdi al Beit
- 1:05:20Ali Musalam. What is some advice you can give
- 1:05:23to us and to inshallah listeners at home who are currently going
- 1:05:28through something, health, situations, wealth, family,
- 1:05:32whatever it might be, their reputation has been wrongfully
- 1:05:35damaged. Whatever it might be, who are
- 1:05:37feeling distressed at the moment but who need a source of
- 1:05:40inspiration from the stories of the Alhabet Alayhi Musalaam or
- 1:05:44something that they can take in that into their day-to-day
- 1:05:46lives. I'll just make it a point 1st
- 1:05:52that I didn't forget about your other questions about the Nephs.
- 1:05:55So I don't know if you want to go back to that later or if you
- 1:05:57want me. To leave it.
- 1:06:00Yeah, we can leave. That yeah.
- 1:06:01So in terms of the Alhabet, peace and blessings be upon
- 1:06:06them, Fatima to Zahrat Alayhar, namely she comes and she stands
- 1:06:10in the in front of those individuals and those
- 1:06:12individuals are the same ones that have oppressed her.
- 1:06:15But she's showing a strong case of true hand and true thana of
- 1:06:20Allah azzawajal and true thankfulness Shukar zeal
- 1:06:23Hamdulillahi allahu, allahu, shukra.
- 1:06:27Allahukar al hamdulillahi allahu, allahu, allahu.
- 1:06:31Shukra allahu allahu Allahu or praise be to Allah Azzawajal
- 1:06:36upon what He has favored upon me.
- 1:06:39And all thanks be to him for what He has brought forth to me
- 1:06:44and extended praise be to him upon that which he has inspired
- 1:06:50me. Like at the way that Fatima Tu
- 1:06:52Zara is is talking to those individuals and how she
- 1:06:55introduces this great sermon of her, the sermon of Fedek.
- 1:06:59Likewise, you mentioned Imam Zain Al Abedin, He stands in
- 1:07:01sham and his hot but before he even starts with men, Arafani
- 1:07:06Faqad Arafani, he starts by praising Allah Azzawajal.
- 1:07:09There is a constant theme of praise.
- 1:07:12Now this theme of praise goes back and and thanks go back to a
- 1:07:18very important thing that I mentioned which is that
- 1:07:21thankfulness and praise are all prerequisites of Iman.
- 1:07:27Without them there is no Iman. They go hand in hand with Iman.
- 1:07:31Now you might tell me, and what does this have to do with your
- 1:07:34question in terms of those who are watching at home or even
- 1:07:37ourselves, how do we deal with certain times of distress?
- 1:07:41I say I'm not a person of advice, but Rasulullah is
- 1:07:45Rasulullah sallallahu alaihiwari wasallam.
- 1:07:47He says Iman is of two parts. What are those two parts here?
- 1:07:52Rasulullah, he says the two parts of Iman is Shukar and
- 1:07:56Sabr. So the two parts that you rec
- 1:08:00prerequisites, if you like, of Iman that allow a movement to
- 1:08:04remain, a movement that allows them to stay steadfast is both
- 1:08:07patience and thankfulness. Because to be truly patient, I
- 1:08:12need to be thankful upon the calamity that has just come upon
- 1:08:16me. And to be thankful upon the
- 1:08:18calamity that has just come upon me.
- 1:08:21I need to be able to be patient, to be able to be thankful, which
- 1:08:24is why you're you're referenced earlier and give glad tidings to
- 1:08:36those who are patients about your own, those that when a
- 1:08:45calamity comes upon them, they say indeed we are to Allah and
- 1:08:49to him we shall return. This word of thinking about
- 1:08:53Allah azzawajan, that we are from Allah to him we shall
- 1:08:56return, is something that really keeps an individual grounded
- 1:09:00that Allah azzawajal is with me. Allah is is overseeing Ola ICA
- 1:09:04alaihim salawatu memorabic. Imagine by just seeing such a
- 1:09:09statement in a moment of patience.
- 1:09:12Allah sends blessings upon you. Can we just comprehend that for
- 1:09:17a second? Allah Allah Allah Allah ICA
- 1:09:20alaihim salawatu memorabic. Allah sends blessings upon those
- 1:09:25individuals. That is 1 to have that patience.
- 1:09:29What can help with it is recognizing that Allah azzawajal
- 1:09:33is always going to be in a state of mercy, going back to what we
- 1:09:37first started with. Allah doesn't stop being
- 1:09:39merciful and sometimes certain things come, certain
- 1:09:42tribulations come to better me and that's all I know.
- 1:09:46That's a whole different discussion.
- 1:09:47Maybe one day we can talk about the philosophies of trials and
- 1:09:50tribulations, because I think it's a very deep discussion
- 1:09:53within itself. But Allah has original might
- 1:09:55trial me to better me. Allah has original might trial
- 1:09:57me because of an error that's come to me.
- 1:09:59Maybe it is because Allah Azzawajal wants to slow
- 1:10:02something down because that is better for me.
- 1:10:04We are reciting the airlift, maybe that which slowed
- 1:10:12everything down on me. It's better for me, for you know
- 1:10:16the end results of things Philum, Aramol and Kareem.
- 1:10:21I have never seen a master who is so Kareem, who is so giving
- 1:10:28Asbara Allah, Abdul Leim and Minke Alaya Arab who is more
- 1:10:34patient upon a slave who is always transgressing against
- 1:10:39their master. In the category only for
- 1:10:41Owliank, you call upon me and I run away from you.
- 1:10:47This is the relationship I've created with Allah Azzawajal.
- 1:10:50Whereas Allah is always in that state of mercy, Allah Azzawajal
- 1:10:55is always saying no, no, no, come to me.
- 1:10:57Thank me for what I have given you and I will give you more to
- 1:11:02be in a state of thankfulness. This is something that we just
- 1:11:06say that they even apply it. Of course they applied it.
- 1:11:10Is there a tragedy that greater than the tragedy of ABBA
- 1:11:13Abdullah Imam Hussein Ali Salaam and this is the day of Thursday.
- 1:11:20This is Leila Tujumal must help for a person to perform the
- 1:11:23ziara of Imam Hussein Ali Salaam said one of the best ways to
- 1:11:26deal with these things is to remember the tragedies of the
- 1:11:28aliabet and the albeit said in Kunta Baki en nisheh febkil Ali
- 1:11:32Hussain. If you cry for anything, cry for
- 1:11:35Imam Ali Hussain Ali Salam. This is the remedy that the AL
- 1:11:38albeit gave when Imam UL Barker who is an individual who was
- 1:11:43five years of age at the time of Karbala, witnessed everything
- 1:11:49that happened in Karbala from A-Z and then witnessed
- 1:11:54everything that happened post Karbala from leaving the bodies
- 1:12:01to then coming back to bury them in Aruba and to then going back
- 1:12:04to Medina. Performs Ciara of his
- 1:12:08grandfather Imam and Hussein Ali Salaam and then when he finishes
- 1:12:11his siara, he goes into sujood and he says al hamdulillahi
- 1:12:14hamdashah Karina like Allah Musabi, all praise be to you.
- 1:12:19Allah, the praise of those who are thankful upon their
- 1:12:23calamity, Al Hamdulillahi, Allah alimi Raziati, all praise be to
- 1:12:30you for how magnificent this tragedy of mine is.
- 1:12:36Therefore, the Imam is now balancing between shukur,
- 1:12:42between being thankful to Allah azzawajal, and between what and
- 1:12:46between patients. Those two things I'm not saying
- 1:12:50are easy to to weigh, but they are things we need to reflect
- 1:12:54on, especially in these days of Shah Ramadan.
- 1:12:56Let me think about all of those things that Allah azzawajal has
- 1:13:00done for me. Let me think about all of those
- 1:13:02favors that Allah Azzawajal has bestowed upon me.
- 1:13:05Am I truly praising him with the true praise that he deserves?
- 1:13:09Am I truly thanking him with the true thanks that he deserves?
- 1:13:13And I know we're probably coming to the end of the episode.
- 1:13:16So if I can just send at least a message that at least, at least
- 1:13:20at least if we want to do one thing, one thing.
- 1:13:23If we want to do one thing this Shah Ramadan after watching this
- 1:13:26episode, then we want to know more about Shukur.
- 1:13:29I ask you to go back to two things.
- 1:13:31Go and read the dua of Shukar of Imam Zain al Abidin, which I
- 1:13:37believe is dua 37 and go read Munajati Shah Karin of Imam Zain
- 1:13:42al Abidin. Those two things.
- 1:13:44Go and understand what shukar is.
- 1:13:46I praise Allah Azzujan and you shukar to Allah Azzujan.
- 1:13:49I think as though I've done him a favor.
- 1:13:53I've done good the favor by thanking him, whereas it is the
- 1:13:56opposite. Allah has has done a favor upon
- 1:13:59me by allowing me to thank Him, which is why Imam's in Aberdeen
- 1:14:03says in Munajat Shakarin that O Allah, every time I said Al
- 1:14:10Hamdulillah, it is an obligation upon me for to to thank you for
- 1:14:15that al Hamdulillah. It's a recurring thing.
- 1:14:19Me being able to say Al Hamdulillah to you is because
- 1:14:22you have granted me the opportunity to say Al
- 1:14:24Hamdulillah. If it wasn't for that, would I
- 1:14:27be able to say Al Hamdulillah, Mama, kunali, nehtadiya, Lola
- 1:14:31and Hadan Allah? Everything that I have been
- 1:14:34guided towards is from Allah Azzawajal.
- 1:14:37How short have I come with Allah Azzawajal on the other hand and
- 1:14:41how merciful is he to me during all those times as well?
- 1:14:46What balance am I even talking about?
- 1:14:49Allah Azzawajal is constantly coming towards me and I'm
- 1:14:52running away from him. And then at the end, I want to
- 1:14:56talk to Allah Azzawajal as though I owe him a favour.
- 1:15:00And I really, really want us to think about this, this concept
- 1:15:03of hand and shooker in the words of the error bit.
- 1:15:06Therefore, when a calamity comes upon me, when a tragedy falls
- 1:15:10upon me, connect. Let me connect with Allah
- 1:15:13Azzawajal, but not connect with him in that manner that we spoke
- 1:15:17about, as though he is my only hope.
- 1:15:18And then after that, we'll see how it goes.
- 1:15:21Let me connect with him and keep my hand in his hand
- 1:15:25metaphorically to see how Allah Azzawajal will open up those
- 1:15:29doors for me. Let me see how Allah Azzawajal
- 1:15:32thence will show me how this thankfulness allows me to go to
- 1:15:37Greater Makamaten. Greatest steps.
- 1:15:40Ibrahim Ali Salah. Ibrahim Ali Salah Tragedy after
- 1:15:44tragedy after tribulation after tribulation in Igi Ali Nasir
- 1:15:48Imama, How Shah Karan Li Anomi realize a constant theme you
- 1:15:54find is shukar. Even at times of most
- 1:15:58difficulty. There were of those who are find
- 1:16:01me one imam, find me one mushroom who does not start
- 1:16:05their day upon hand, who does not end their day upon hand.
- 1:16:09And even then I've come short. I can say shukar and Allah,
- 1:16:14sorry I keep talking by the way, but just cut me off.
- 1:16:17When you're ready. I say shukar and shukar and
- 1:16:19shukar and Allah, Shukar and Allah Hamdulillah, Hamdulillah.
- 1:16:21Then what Tasbirtezara, I ask you, by Allah, today you guys, a
- 1:16:26kid performed tasbirtezara at least after Salat al Maghrib.
- 1:16:30You said hamdallah 33 times. I ask you, by Allah, did you
- 1:16:34think of anything that you were praising him for?
- 1:16:37Oh, you're just doing hamdallah, Hamdallah.
- 1:16:41This is the problem that we're falling into.
- 1:16:44Yet Allah azawajal doesn't come to me and say, Ibrahim, you
- 1:16:48haven't done proper hamd of me or I'm in new proper shukur of
- 1:16:51me. Therefore I'm not going to give
- 1:16:52you anything anymore. No, I'm still breathing, I'm
- 1:16:55still in perfect health. I still have a cup of water next
- 1:16:58to me. I'm still in company of good
- 1:17:03brothers. Are these not all bounties that
- 1:17:06Allah Azzawajal has given me? Now I'm recognizing a specific
- 1:17:11bounty. Shukur is now done by saying, Oh
- 1:17:15Allah, I am going to stay steadfast on what you have given
- 1:17:18me. You've given me the sebid,
- 1:17:19you've shown it to me. I'm going to be of those who are
- 1:17:21sharker. I'm going to continue performing
- 1:17:23this. I'm going to, I'm going to make
- 1:17:24a change even in times of tribulations, even in terms of
- 1:17:28difficulty. Why does it have to change here?
- 1:17:31The shakur should be consistent. Why?
- 1:17:34Because when someone is sharker, they are always upon what
- 1:17:38thanking Allah azzawajal. So I asked our last friend Allah
- 1:17:41to allow us to be amongst those who are truly thankful to him,
- 1:17:45to be of those who to be of the foremost of those who are
- 1:17:49thankful to him, and to thank him according to how he deserves
- 1:17:52to be thanked. Because at the end of the day,
- 1:17:56Allah has also made it easy. Musa alayhi Salaam, he says to
- 1:18:04Allah azzawajal, the Prophet, he says to Allah azzawajal.
- 1:18:08He says, O Allah, how is it that you want me to thank you truly
- 1:18:12how you should be thanked? So thank me how I should be
- 1:18:15thanked. So how is it that every time I
- 1:18:18thank you or every time I praise you, it is from you and I have
- 1:18:22to thank you for that praise. He says, now you have truly
- 1:18:25thanked me for how I should be thanked.
- 1:18:27When you recognize that this is mercy, Allah just requires a
- 1:18:33recognition from His. We can never understand the
- 1:18:37physics of of Allah's mercy. Honestly.
- 1:18:40No, it's incredible. So my last point, allow us to be
- 1:18:44amongst those who recognize that Inshallah and amongst those who
- 1:18:47are truly thankful to our last point.
- 1:18:49I mean, sorry, I'm stopping myself to talk on purpose
- 1:18:53because I apologize for. Going you don't say Ali's been
- 1:18:57requesting we do this topic and this discussion for probably
- 1:19:02close to a year, right? And we've always waited for the
- 1:19:06right opportunity and the right guest.
- 1:19:09I. Think, I think you.
- 1:19:11Could have got I'm going to stop you, bro.
- 1:19:12No, no, I'm I'm going to stop you.
- 1:19:14I'm going to have done. A much better job on this?
- 1:19:16No, not at all. Stop.
- 1:19:18It Jack could have done a much. No, no, you are.
- 1:19:20You are perfect. You are perfect, Mayor Laura,
- 1:19:22would you from your kindness? Not at all, not at all.
- 1:19:24Grant you more Tofia and answer your high judge except your
- 1:19:28father's blessing nights, these remaining days we have of
- 1:19:31Shahramadhan and protect your family and in Shahallah allow us
- 1:19:35to learn more from you and for you to continue to inspire
- 1:19:38communities around the world for decades and decades to come.
- 1:19:41Habibi Shah, thank you so much. Thank you very much.
- 1:19:43Thank you for coming on and for enlightening us, said Ali.
- 1:19:48Sent some shepherd a lot of food before and a lot to reflect on.
- 1:19:51And that's the point I sort like in the last, I can be honest, in
- 1:19:54the last, I don't know, 10-15 minutes, I didn't want it to
- 1:19:58end. But there was a lot things
- 1:20:00affecting me inside. Yeah.
- 1:20:01These are reminders for us and the Charlotte reminders for
- 1:20:03those listening at home as well. Don't take it for granted now.
- 1:20:08Don't just say it, Hamdullah. Don't say.
- 1:20:09Like when you were speaking, Chef, there was a lot of things
- 1:20:11that came back to me that I could have went institute and
- 1:20:14said, Shukran, you're up for this.
- 1:20:16Shukran, you're up. But I didn't.
- 1:20:18When shall I go today? When I go unless you mentioned
- 1:20:20this of the most simple acts that a person can perform truly
- 1:20:24truly would we stand on the prayer mat if Allah has Oja
- 1:20:27didn't allow us to stand on the prayer mat, but we rush it we
- 1:20:31pray and we get Australia. I see.
- 1:20:33Even if you're rush your prayer, even if you're rush your prayer
- 1:20:35and you prayed it so fast, no problem.
- 1:20:38Just take 2 seconds after that to perform.
- 1:20:40So you would say Shokan Linda for those simple accent.
- 1:20:44Yeah, accent. And there's massive the.
- 1:20:46The problem is it's something that he's deserving of and he's
- 1:20:50deserving of more. Yet his mercy says that you do
- 1:20:54this simple act that he deserves anyway and that I've come short
- 1:20:57with anyway. But he rewarded me for it on
- 1:20:59top. Of regardless.
- 1:21:00Subhanallah. Yeah, we can never understand
- 1:21:03it. We can never understand it.
- 1:21:04This is why the Shahraman, we have the Quran and there we have
- 1:21:07the little bait and we we, it's our goal to try and see them
- 1:21:10both hand in hand. And they will never suffer.
- 1:21:12They'll never say I wish we could have had a conversation
- 1:21:16and Charlotte next time, but about I'm scared about Mamel,
- 1:21:22Mehdi and Shahraban and connecting the two.
- 1:21:25Yeah, maybe off camera and Charlotte, but this is for us.
- 1:21:27We're going to benefit from this is Charlotte.
- 1:21:29We love you guys. I just mentioned one narration
- 1:21:32that came to me and I'll end it here.
- 1:21:34I won't ask anything else. And there was I read that
- 1:21:38actually today was today, yeah, a few hours ago.
- 1:21:40And it was by Imam Ali, Alayhi Saddam.
- 1:21:42He was like, like the best form of gratitude.
- 1:21:45Shukur, a believer, the state he can be in is to not use the
- 1:21:49blessings and the bounties of Allah and his disobedience.
- 1:21:51And when we think about it, this can be our eyes.
- 1:21:55Do we disobey Allah with it? This can be our ears do disobey
- 1:21:58Allah with our tongue. He's telling me that's the best
- 1:22:02form of sugar and the most simplest thing to stay away from
- 1:22:04Haram. That's it.
- 1:22:05I'm not saying anything. Else it is going to kill me.
- 1:22:07But he reminded me of veneration.
- 1:22:13And of course, these are the at the end of this is the month of
- 1:22:16Emira Momini. So it's it would be nice to end
- 1:22:18on this as well. And Nigel Bellaga and Nigel
- 1:22:22Bellaga, by the way, especially for the views as well.
- 1:22:24It's got a section that is called Hecam Amira Momini.
- 1:22:27Very short, nice and simple. The wisdoms of Emir and
- 1:22:31Mumminin. Of those wisdoms Emir and
- 1:22:35Mumminin mentions, he says do not push away the atraf.
- 1:22:40How would you translate atraf in English?
- 1:22:42Atraf The the end like the end parts, the edges of the edge,
- 1:22:45the end parts of blessings. With little thanks, sometimes we
- 1:22:53receive blessings from Allah Azza wajal and it's so close,
- 1:22:58but I mean morning saying what if you do not thank enough,
- 1:23:02those blessings start moving away.
- 1:23:06So he says that thank him and don't perform little thanks.
- 1:23:09He didn't say by by not thanking him, he says by thanking little.
- 1:23:14So we should always be in a state of constant thanks.
