- 0:00Speaker 1: This is show. I'm sevent ten wo r.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Well, we a lot to get through this hour. Now
- 0:16Speaker 2: let's start with Wheel of Fortune. So there's a woman
- 0:18Speaker 2: from Connecticut who's the contestant on Wheel of Fortune. Her
- 0:22Speaker 2: name is Christina d jon Dreamer, jered but whatever it is.
- 0:28Speaker 2: But she's from Stamford, very nice looking, beautiful, energetic, great personality.
- 0:34Speaker 2: She's thirty four years old, she's engaged, and last night
- 0:39Speaker 2: she won a million dollars. You know, they have this secret.
- 0:43Speaker 2: You open the envelopes, see how much you want if
- 0:45Speaker 2: you get this puzzle. And Ryan Seacrest courses, the host
- 0:49Speaker 2: of Wheel of Fortune, what happens if you win a
- 0:51Speaker 2: million dollars?
- 0:53Speaker 3: I may be putting in my two weeks, but we won't.
- 0:55Speaker 2: Tell her that yet. Well, uh, she I thought it
- 1:02Speaker 2: was a pretty easy puzzle. You know, even I could
- 1:04Speaker 2: have solved it. But there was a not too tough
- 1:06Speaker 2: a puzzle and she got it right and she won
- 1:09Speaker 2: a million dollars.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Living things, that is the category.
- 1:13Speaker 4: You'll have ten seconds to try and solve it.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Christina staring at me, good luck, pack of coyotes.
- 1:33Speaker 2: Yeah, so she won a million dollars. Now she is
- 1:38Speaker 2: engaged and Apparently she never told her bo that she
- 1:45Speaker 2: won a million dollars. She kept it from him. Now
- 1:48Speaker 2: you see these headlines, it sounds like something's wrong with
- 1:50Speaker 2: this relationship. Why didn't she tell them? Well, you know
- 1:54Speaker 2: they do film. They record these Wheel of Fortune episodes
- 1:59Speaker 2: way way months in advance, and you're sworn to secrecy.
- 2:05Speaker 2: You have to sign a document and you might not
- 2:07Speaker 2: get the million dollars if you tell anybody. You have
- 2:10Speaker 2: to sign this agreement to keep it secret. And she did.
- 2:14Speaker 2: Now they again, they do these Wheel of fortunes months
- 2:17Speaker 2: in advance. So she signed the agreement and she didn't
- 2:19Speaker 2: want to risk losing the million dollars, so she didn't
- 2:22Speaker 2: tell them. He just found out she's one million dollars.
- 2:25Speaker 2: So that's great. She lives. Doesn't say we're in Stanford
- 2:29Speaker 2: Single thirty four could be Harbord point. You got that
- 2:31Speaker 2: look about her. But that's great news. Now let's get
- 2:36Speaker 2: to business news. Business news. All right, I'm not exactly
- 2:42Speaker 2: Liz claiming here, but a couple of things going on.
- 2:46Speaker 2: Starbucks is having real trouble. You know, they were having
- 2:50Speaker 2: real trouble. Anyway, They got rid of the CEO and
- 2:52Speaker 2: they brought in the CEO from Chipotle, which has been booming.
- 2:57Speaker 2: No fast food chain has gotten bigger, faster, done better
- 3:00Speaker 2: than Chipotle, so they got the Chipotle CEO to come over.
- 3:05Speaker 2: He thinks Starbucks needed a lot of change. So if
- 3:08Speaker 2: you notice every time you look at a Starbucks, they've
- 3:11Speaker 2: closed it down for two weeks to rebuild it, and
- 3:13Speaker 2: they all got this different look now instead of all
- 3:16Speaker 2: these different cases where they sell mugs and they sell
- 3:19Speaker 2: coffee makers and they sold again, it's just a long
- 3:22Speaker 2: counter and it's just coffee. He also streamlined the menu.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Instead of seventy five things, it's just the twenty most popular,
- 3:30Speaker 2: even the food that condensed it. So he's been doing that.
- 3:33Speaker 2: But apparently they're going to close lots of Starbucks, and
- 3:35Speaker 2: they start doing it without any warning. They're closing hundreds
- 3:40Speaker 2: and hundreds and hundreds and hundreds, four hundred stores around
- 3:42Speaker 2: the country. They're closing dozens right here in New York. Yeah,
- 3:47Speaker 2: fifty four coffee shops Starbucks. Fifty four are closing in
- 3:52Speaker 2: New York, and some in what you would think would
- 3:54Speaker 2: be prime location's Upper east Side, Upper West Side, financial district,
- 3:58Speaker 2: Midtown Manhattan right over there, fifty second near sixth, between
- 4:02Speaker 2: six and seven, that one's closing. They were underperforming, but
- 4:06Speaker 2: they just closed them just like that. You remember how
- 4:08Speaker 2: Starbucks would always tell you what a wonderful company they are,
- 4:11Speaker 2: how they take care of everybody, their employees are like family. Well,
- 4:16Speaker 2: these are closing stores. No notice. People show up, stores closed,
- 4:19Speaker 2: You're fired. That's it, you're going. They'll just literally put
- 4:22Speaker 2: signs in the windows overnight. Didn't tell landlords, didn't tell
- 4:26Speaker 2: building managers. Newmark Retail vice chairman said there was no warning,
- 4:32Speaker 2: no heads up, and he explains, you know, retail Tennis
- 4:35Speaker 2: will always let you know, well in advance, they'll reach
- 4:37Speaker 2: out to the landlord and to negotiate concessions. But this
- 4:42Speaker 2: was quick. This was instant. It says, underperforming stores. I
- 4:47Speaker 2: mean this guy, I guess you gotta do that. If
- 4:49Speaker 2: you see it, always kind of cold about it. Underperforming
- 4:52Speaker 2: stores got to go. That's it. Now speaking to coffee,
- 4:58Speaker 2: Maxwell House, you know the name Maxwellhouse coffee. It's like
- 5:01Speaker 2: one of the oldest. It's very good coffee, but one
- 5:05Speaker 2: of the oldest. Even if you're eighty years old, you
- 5:08Speaker 2: remember those commercials as a kid. Maxwellhouse. They're changing their name.
- 5:14Speaker 2: This doesn't sound good at all. They must have hired
- 5:18Speaker 2: the marketing team from a cracker barrel. Maxwellhouse changing the
- 5:22Speaker 2: name to Maxwell Apartment. No, I'm not kidding. They're actually
- 5:29Speaker 2: changing the name of the It's going to be called
- 5:31Speaker 2: Maxwell Apartment. This is the there's been one hundred and
- 5:34Speaker 2: thirty three years. One hundred and thirty three years they
- 5:37Speaker 2: were in Maxwell House. Now it's going to be Maxwell Apartment.
- 5:39Speaker 2: They say, we'll have the same taste, aroma, quality, and ingredients.
- 5:44Speaker 2: The rebrand is to represent the reality of today's consumers.
- 5:48Speaker 2: Why nearly a third of Americans are now renting smaller places,
- 5:53Speaker 2: They're not purchasing full size homes. The coffee giant wants
- 5:57Speaker 2: to reflect that with a rebrand. Two thirds of American
- 6:01Speaker 2: adults drink coffee every day two thirds, Yeah, seventy percent,
- 6:06Speaker 2: seventy five percent, and head of Coffee Marketing said they
- 6:15Speaker 2: tend to be younger, tend to live in apartments. So
- 6:18Speaker 2: Maxwell Apartment. That is the dumbest name. And I get
- 6:21Speaker 2: all right, let's just predict right now, this is the
- 6:24Speaker 2: next cracker Barrel. They're gonna have to change it back.
- 6:27Speaker 2: They're gonna have to go back to the old logo.
- 6:29Speaker 2: The old name, and it's supposed to imply that if
- 6:33Speaker 2: you're drinking Maxwell Apartment, it will help you save more
- 6:39Speaker 2: to buy a house more quickly. What again, just we'll
- 6:44Speaker 2: predict right now it's October, tewod by December, by the
- 6:50Speaker 2: end of the year, by January first the name will
- 6:52Speaker 2: have to go back and again this is the new
- 6:56Speaker 2: Cracker Barrel. It's amazing. You know, people, before you go
- 6:59Speaker 2: out and hire these marketing companies, they are the dumbest
- 7:03Speaker 2: people who've ever seen. You know, here at iHeart, not
- 7:06Speaker 2: just or but we got Power one O five over,
- 7:09Speaker 2: they got Z one hundred, you got Light FM, you
- 7:12Speaker 2: got the biggest radio stations in the world. Upstairs is
- 7:16Speaker 2: the Network where you got Sean Hannity and Buck and Craig.
- 7:19Speaker 2: The biggest advertising operation there is iHeart. If you're an advertiser,
- 7:23Speaker 2: if you want to advertise, come here because you can
- 7:27Speaker 2: reach everybody just on this floor, all these stations. I
- 7:30Speaker 2: think we reach like twenty two million people every day.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Upstairs at the network, I think they reach twenty eight
- 7:35Speaker 2: million people every day. But so we do advertising all
- 7:38Speaker 2: the time, and I can't tell you how many times.
- 7:41Speaker 2: Now if you come here to advertise. We'll help you.
- 7:43Speaker 2: We'll show you how to word the commercial, how to
- 7:45Speaker 2: fix it up, what to say. And we do that
- 7:47Speaker 2: all the time because these companies come here, even the
- 7:50Speaker 2: big companies with the worst marketing, and you look at
- 7:53Speaker 2: the copy. Who told you to say this? What's our
- 7:58Speaker 2: new marketing company? Watch out for these marketing companies. They're
- 8:04Speaker 2: not always there's a couple of good ones, but there
- 8:07Speaker 2: are a lot that are not so hot. Let's say
- 8:10Speaker 2: Zora and Mam Donnie. Uh, every you know, he's been
- 8:14Speaker 2: very careful last couple of weeks, Mam Donnie has been
- 8:17Speaker 2: extremely cautious answering questions. He dances around these answers. Hey,
- 8:23Speaker 2: by the way, Mam Donnie is Starbucks. Mam Donnie's out
- 8:26Speaker 2: there fighting for the Starbucks baristas. He's doing some kind
- 8:30Speaker 2: of protest or something.
- 8:31Speaker 1: This is a city, and this is a movement that
- 8:34Speaker 1: deserves a mayor who isn't staying at home and calling
- 8:37Speaker 1: billionaires for donations. This is a city, and this is
- 8:40Speaker 1: a movement that deserves a mayor who knows exactly what
- 8:43Speaker 1: a picket line looks like, as well as what a
- 8:45Speaker 1: practice picket looks like.
- 8:47Speaker 2: Who what mayors who's staying home calling billionaires, not Curtis,
- 8:53Speaker 2: It's not really Adams, now Adams. Oh, he's talking about Cuomo.
- 8:57Speaker 2: Cuomo actually does that. If you're one of those billionaires.
- 9:01Speaker 2: That's the whole secret of Cuomo. Everybody hates him. The
- 9:04Speaker 2: public hates him. He's creepy, he's weird, public can't stand
- 9:07Speaker 2: and he has the highest unfavorabilities. But as soon as
- 9:10Speaker 2: he got a run out of office and he fled
- 9:12Speaker 2: and disgraced from Albany, he descended on Southampton and the
- 9:16Speaker 2: Upper east Side and Palm Beach, and he wooed those
- 9:18Speaker 2: billionaires who are the most starstruck people ever, and he
- 9:23Speaker 2: went to all their dinners and their dinner parties, and uh,
- 9:27Speaker 2: that's how that's where the donations came from. They're all
- 9:30Speaker 2: backing him. And remember that crowd, whoever they back, always loses.
- 9:33Speaker 2: They're always wrong about everything. But that's who he's talking about, then, Mom,
- 9:39Speaker 2: Donnie's talking about picket lines.
- 9:40Speaker 4: And absolutely the point of this position is to stand
- 9:43Speaker 4: up for the people of the city. And this city
- 9:44Speaker 4: would not be what it is without organized labor, without
- 9:47Speaker 4: unions ensuring that workers have a dignified life, and they deserve.
- 9:51Speaker 4: A mayor's going to stand with them on the picket line.
- 9:53Speaker 2: Gotta admit he's a good talker. He talks real fast.
- 9:55Speaker 2: You know, if you talk fast, you sound very smart.
- 9:57Speaker 2: When you talk that fast, people think you must know
- 9:58Speaker 2: what you're talking about. How else could did you talk
- 10:00Speaker 2: that fast? Then you get Cuomo who talks like this. Now,
- 10:06Speaker 2: also besides being very careful dancing around questions, he's trying
- 10:11Speaker 2: to he's got a big problem with the anti Semitism.
- 10:13Speaker 2: I mean, listen, let's be honest. This guy is anti Israel,
- 10:16Speaker 2: anti Semitic. He's horrible. But he's trying to be a
- 10:19Speaker 2: little more cautious with him.
- 10:20Speaker 3: And so to be very very clear, of course I
- 10:22Speaker 3: condemn hamas of course I have called October seventh what
- 10:25Speaker 3: it was, which is a horrific war crime. And of
- 10:27Speaker 3: course my belief in a universality and international law is
- 10:31Speaker 3: also the same set of beliefs that have led me
- 10:33Speaker 3: to describe what's happening in Gaza as a genocide.
- 10:36Speaker 2: Now, you see he puts on that very sincere voice,
- 10:37Speaker 2: he talks fast, in that sincere voice, he lowers his
- 10:40Speaker 2: tone and he throws in that of course I would never.
- 10:43Speaker 2: Of course I would never. Of course I would never.
- 10:48Speaker 2: He was probably cheering on October seventh. Now here he
- 10:51Speaker 2: is on Trump.
- 10:52Speaker 3: This is a moment where we have to address the
- 10:53Speaker 3: administration for what it is, which is authoritarian. It's going
- 10:56Speaker 3: to require us to do everything in our power to
- 10:58Speaker 3: fight back, not to coordinate like Andrew Cuomo has done
- 11:01Speaker 3: being on the phone with Donald Trump, or collaborate like
- 11:04Speaker 3: Eric Adams is done by welcoming ice into the city.
- 11:08Speaker 2: Authoritarian. They love this. He's a fascist. He's authoritarian. Now,
- 11:11Speaker 2: what Donnie is proposing is socialism, which is authoritarian as
- 11:16Speaker 2: you can get. He has come out with some dangerous positions.
- 11:21Speaker 2: I mean in the past obviously, but even recently. Now
- 11:24Speaker 2: here's another one. A lot of police officials have talked
- 11:29Speaker 2: about this. Mom. Donnie. He's now proposing that he take
- 11:33Speaker 2: power away from the NYPD commissioner and give it to him.
- 11:37Speaker 2: And one place he wants to do that is on discipline.
- 11:40Speaker 2: You know, when an officer has to be disciplined, Mom,
- 11:44Speaker 2: Donnie wants that to no longer be the power of
- 11:47Speaker 2: the police commissioner. It will be the power of the mayor.
- 11:49Speaker 2: This is very dangerous. You want it to be the
- 11:51Speaker 2: police commissioner. The NYPD's largest union is warning, Police Benevolent
- 11:58Speaker 2: Association is warning this is dangerous. Now, what he wants
- 12:01Speaker 2: to do is have the Civilian Complaint Review Board have
- 12:06Speaker 2: the final authority on discipline. Now, the problem there is
- 12:09Speaker 2: that's a board where everybody would be appointed by Mamdani.
- 12:14Speaker 2: So on his Civilian Review Board, it'll all be a
- 12:17Speaker 2: cop hating, crazy left wing kook who hate the cops.
- 12:21Speaker 2: You know, no bail, no jail crest, so they will
- 12:24Speaker 2: go after every cop. Now, what happens if Mamdani gets
- 12:28Speaker 2: in and he does that, he's the final say on
- 12:30Speaker 2: the discipline. His review board is the final say. Well,
- 12:36Speaker 2: the damage will be unbelievable. Police officials have said privately,
- 12:40Speaker 2: it'll be unbelievable what this will do to crime because
- 12:44Speaker 2: what will happen is the policeman or woman will be
- 12:48Speaker 2: afraid to intervene in most situations because they could end
- 12:51Speaker 2: up discipline fired by this Mamdanni review. And if Mamdani
- 12:57Speaker 2: has the final decision, the one thing about the police
- 12:59Speaker 2: commission at least you know he'll try to stand up
- 13:01Speaker 2: for you. If you watch Blue Bloods, you remember how
- 13:04Speaker 2: many Blue Bloods episodes or the mayor for political reasons
- 13:08Speaker 2: says you got to fire that cop right now, you
- 13:10Speaker 2: got to indict that in The police commissioner says that
- 13:13Speaker 2: he was just doing his job. And if this happens,
- 13:18Speaker 2: no cop will will want to approach any situation that's
- 13:23Speaker 2: questionable in the street. They'll have to just let it go.
- 13:25Speaker 2: You know, one thing Cuomo did, he took away the
- 13:28Speaker 2: qualified immunity the cops have, which is protection, legal protection.
- 13:33Speaker 2: He took it away from them. That's why a lot
- 13:35Speaker 2: of cops had to stop approaching certain situations because the
- 13:38Speaker 2: person could then sue them, and they weren't covered for
- 13:41Speaker 2: lawsuits by the department. It was he could sue them personally.
- 13:45Speaker 2: This is what Cuomo did to them. It's just awful.
- 13:49Speaker 2: So a horrible proposal. Hey, Forbes magazine, you know they
- 13:55Speaker 2: do the rich rich who's the richest person list? Bloomberg
- 13:58Speaker 2: does a lot of people do the best one Forbes,
- 14:00Speaker 2: that's the most accurate, that's the best one of all.
- 14:03Speaker 2: Forbes now saying Elon Musk will be the first person
- 14:07Speaker 2: to hit five hundred billion dollars. He'll be worth half
- 14:12Speaker 2: a trillion dollars. That means he'll be a trillionaire. He'll
- 14:16Speaker 2: be the world's first trillionaire probably within ten years. Musk
- 14:20Speaker 2: hits five hundred billion. Second place Larry Ellison three hundred
- 14:26Speaker 2: and fifty billion, which means Musk can look at this
- 14:31Speaker 2: guy with three hundred and fifty billion and say three
- 14:36Speaker 2: hundred and fifty billion, that's nothing. Zuckerberg in third place
- 14:40Speaker 2: two hundred and fifty billion. Jeff Bezos found it falls
- 14:44Speaker 2: to fourth place two hundred and thirty three billion. You know,
- 14:48Speaker 2: if you see a guy with two three billion dollars,
- 14:49Speaker 2: you go, wow, he's a billion or two three billion.
- 14:53Speaker 2: These guys now look at him like they're a welfare cases.
- 14:55Speaker 2: At five hundred billion, can you imagine that you couldn't
- 15:00Speaker 2: spend this if you tried, If you just put it
- 15:02Speaker 2: in the in the in the right fund, it would
- 15:06Speaker 2: generate forty billion a year in interest. Forty billion a year.
- 15:13Speaker 2: You could just live off that. You don't never have
- 15:14Speaker 2: to work again. Just invest this, collect forty billion a
- 15:17Speaker 2: year in interest. You couldn't spend that if you tried,
- 15:20Speaker 2: You could not. It's impossible. You couldn't spend it if
- 15:22Speaker 2: you tried. Hey, we'll take some calls next eight hundred
- 15:26Speaker 2: three two one zero seven ten. Is the number eight
- 15:29Speaker 2: hundred three two one zero seven ten
