the topics discussed on the portal. I'm with
• 1:02
the journalist Enzo Mauri, who introduces the
• 1:05
topic today. Good morning, today I'm talking
• 1:07
to you about a Fanta Horror of the 60s. In 1957,
• 1:12
the American MGM acquired the rights, before
• 1:15
it came out, of the novel written by John Wyndham,
• 1:18
The Sons of the Invasion, which became in 1960,
• 1:21
in the film adaptation, the villa. Science fiction
• 1:25
has never imagined so strange or terrifying a
• 1:29
story as that of the village of Midwich, England.
• 1:31
Cut off from life as we know it by some mysterious
• 1:34
force. And later, at one and the same time, a
• 2:10
child was born to every woman in the village.
• 2:13
Children that grew to look like this. Beautiful
• 2:16
youngsters behind whose fiery hypnotic eyes lurk
• 2:20
the demon forces of another world. Why are you
• 2:40
so nervous when an aircraft flies above you?
• 2:44
Until recently we haven't been able to make our
• 2:46
control reach as far as a high aircraft. Now
• 2:49
you have, is that it? little suitable for the
• 3:14
new setting, to the point that he rewrote it
• 3:17
in a single weekend, helped by the producer Ronald
• 3:20
Kinnock. British censorship gave the projection
• 3:22
in the rooms nothing, but only after the removal
• 3:25
of the luminous eye effect of the children, considered
• 3:27
excessive for the sensitivity of the public.
• 3:30
In fact, the only special effect of the film,
• 3:32
the main reason for its fame, disappeared in
• 3:35
the English edition. Thanks to Enzo Mauri for
• 3:58
today's theme. See you in the next episode of
