- 0:18Ron Meyers: Welcome to Get The Hell Out of Your Life, I'm Ron Meyers. Ever notice how life rarely changes with thunder and lightning?
- 0:32Ron Meyers: No, when life changes, most of the time it pivots quietly in a living room after a hard day's work or a decision you have to make that no one else knows about.
- 0:47Ron Meyers: Well, today's story is about one of those moments.
- 0:50Ron Meyers: Bobby Beverly grew up around church.
- 0:53Ron Meyers: But somewhere between responsibility and rebellion, faith became background noise.
- 1:01Ron Meyers: Her life sped up, pain got louder, and after a brutal skydiving injury, Bobby found herself grounded, not just physically, but emotionally.
- 1:10Ron Meyers: She was isolated, ashamed, and angry at her own reflection.
- 1:16Ron Meyers: One evening, sitting on a couch, all alone, standing on the edge of a choice that she could not undo, something unexpected intervened.
- 1:29Ron Meyers: Not a sermon, not a pastor, but a dog named Thor.
- 1:34Ron Meyers: That interruption cracked the darkness just enough for Bobby to throw a challenge toward heaven.
- 1:40Ron Meyers: If you're real, prove it.
- 1:43Ron Meyers: The next day, an envelope arrived.
- 1:46Ron Meyers: Inside, a check for $17.46.
- 1:50Ron Meyers: Small money, big moment.
- 1:52Ron Meyers: Enough to pay a bill, enough to soften a heart, enough to start again.
- 2:00Ron Meyers: Today's episode is called My Dog Became My Pastor.
- 2:04Ron Meyers: And if you've ever felt burned by religion, trapped in pain, are tempted to quit altogether, stay with us.
- 2:13Ron Meyers: This conversation might be the interruption you didn't know you needed.
- 2:19Bobi Beverly: Well, it's an interesting story.
- 2:21Bobi Beverly: I was raised up in Michigan as a Catholic, and my grandma took me to church every Sunday, but I didn't see it practiced very much in the family.
- 2:30Bobi Beverly: Um, there was a divorce and moved to Las Vegas, lived in Las Vegas for 42 years, and I got farther and farther and farther away from Jesus and the Word because it didn't feel right to me the way I was being exposed.
- 2:45Bobi Beverly: And finally had joined a church and I thought, well, this will be good.
- 2:49Bobi Beverly: And there was just so much going on there that it it wasn't it wasn't comfortable.
- 2:55Bobi Beverly: And then I had something happen that just made me quit believing in God.
- 3:01Bobi Beverly: You know, I just was like, you know what?
- 3:02Bobi Beverly: If this, if this is the way my life's gonna be, there's no way God's up there.
- 3:06Bobi Beverly: I was approached by a pastor in the church in an in a way that wasn't very godlike.
- 3:12Bobi Beverly: Let's just put it to you that way.
- 3:14Bobi Beverly: And I felt like if in fact God was a part of these entities that I should be feeling something different.
- 3:20Bobi Beverly: And I never had that feeling of Jesus in me.
- 3:23Bobi Beverly: And so I literally became an atheist.
- 3:26Bobi Beverly: Like shortly after that, I was like, you know, I feel better just to believe that this is my one and only life, which is what my dad believed, and that I should live it up and that I should be having the most fun that I could possibly have while I'm still alive.
- 3:39Bobi Beverly: So I started skydiving, racing motorcycles.
- 3:43Bobi Beverly: Outside of Las Vegas, there's an absolutely stunning park called Red Rock National Park, and there's rock climbing there, and I took a lot of risks, and I swear the angels on the other side were like very tired by the time I was drawn into Christianity.
- 3:58Ron Meyers: So So you like living on the edge.
- 4:01Bobi Beverly: I I am a type A personality a little bit.
- 4:03Bobi Beverly: Yes, yes.
- 4:05Ron Meyers: I can relate.
- 4:06Bobi Beverly: Can you relate?
- 4:06Bobi Beverly: I've owned my own businesses and I've been a huge risk taker my whole life.
- 4:11Bobi Beverly: So I went to nursing school, uh, got in trouble because I wasn't compliant.
- 4:16Bobi Beverly: I used to tell people, no, that the reason why they kind of cut your toes off is because you eat pancakes and orange juice for breakfast.
- 4:22Bobi Beverly: That got me into trouble.
- 4:24Bobi Beverly: So I went into, I had had a cleaning service for 32 years, and I was able to go out and do whatever it is that I loved, which I loved fitness and wellness and helping people discover their best self.
- 4:38Bobi Beverly: But I still was angry at the world.
- 4:40Bobi Beverly: I was still, I hated the cleaning business.
- 4:42Bobi Beverly: I hated myself.
- 4:44Bobi Beverly: I didn't drink, which is good, you know, because my my father was an alcoholic.
- 4:47Bobi Beverly: But I think the skydiving and the racing the motorcycle, I think I got my adrenaline pushed through there.
- 4:53Bobi Beverly: And then one day I had a really great skydive.
- 4:56Bobi Beverly: Parachute opened up fine.
- 4:58Bobi Beverly: Uh, but in the desert, there are some kind of crazy winds, and it knocked my parachute around and I landed directly on my tailbone.
- 5:05Bobi Beverly: And it herniated the disc in my back, and it was so painful.
- 5:10Bobi Beverly: And I I actually wrote a book called Lucky Break.
- 5:15Bobi Beverly: And my name is Bobby, but it's spelled B-O-B-I, Bobby Beverly.
- 5:19Bobi Beverly: And I talk about how that broken back stopped me from doing all the things that distracted me in my atheism.
- 5:29Bobi Beverly: You know, I was whole Bobby at that time.
- 5:32Bobi Beverly: I didn't care about people the way I thought I should.
- 5:35Bobi Beverly: I didn't care about people the way they should be cared about.
- 5:38Bobi Beverly: How I cared about people was to get that good feeling when I helped them.
- 5:43Bobi Beverly: So my motivation for helping someone was to get something back, to make me feel good because I was empty inside.
- 5:51Bobi Beverly: So here I am sitting on the sofa with a broken back.
- 5:56Bobi Beverly: I gained 100 pounds.
- 5:58Bobi Beverly: That's totally unlike me.
- 5:59Bobi Beverly: I'm pretty fit.
- 6:00Bobi Beverly: And had people helping me.
- 6:02Bobi Beverly: I became what they call agoraphobic, Bobby.
- 6:05Bobi Beverly: I didn't go out of the house.
- 6:07Bobi Beverly: I had somebody running my cleaning business.
- 6:09Bobi Beverly: One of my employees would come over and bring me food.
- 6:11Bobi Beverly: This was long before the days of people dropping food off at your door.
- 6:15Bobi Beverly: And I just wallowed in self-pity.
- 6:18Bobi Beverly: And how I did that was I literally started drinking wine and eating very bad for you food.
- 6:24Bobi Beverly: Just horrible.
- 6:25Bobi Beverly: So she brings me the food, she sets the change on the countertop, and a dime fell on the floor.
- 6:31Bobi Beverly: And I looked at it and I didn't want to bend over to pick that up because of the excruciating pain it would cause me.
- 6:37Bobi Beverly: I mean, I didn't go to doctor, I went to a doctor.
- 6:39Bobi Beverly: Uh I didn't have insurance, and I was saving up the $80,000 I needed in order to have surgery.
- 6:45Bobi Beverly: I didn't believe in surgery, and I didn't believe in pharmaceutical drugs.
- 6:49Bobi Beverly: The wine that I drank was organic, of course.
- 6:51Ron Meyers: Oh, good.
- 6:52Ron Meyers: Need that organic wine.
- 6:54Bobi Beverly: Yes, yes.
- 6:55Bobi Beverly: So I bent over finally and picked up that dime, but I couldn't get up.
- 6:58Bobi Beverly: And I crawled over to a chair, and I was really angry, and I was crying, and I was pushing myself up from that chair, and I thought, I don't need this anymore.
- 7:09Bobi Beverly: I don't know who would miss me.
- 7:11Ron Meyers: Who or what were you angry about?
- 7:14Bobi Beverly: The inability to function on my own.
- 7:17Bobi Beverly: I couldn't go out and distract myself with jumping out of airplanes, partying with friends, racing a motorcycle at 135 miles an hour.
- 7:27Bobi Beverly: I couldn't exhilarate myself anymore because I did not have self-love, because I didn't have Jesus Christ in my life.
- 7:34Ron Meyers: So you didn't have a love for other people, but you got love through your adventures and all the things you were doing, but then one day, because of your injury, you're stuck.
- 7:46Bobi Beverly: Yes.
- 7:46Ron Meyers: It's like God said, I gotta slow this lady down.
- 7:48Ron Meyers: Absolutely.
- 7:50Ron Meyers: She's a wild lady.
- 7:52Ron Meyers: Is that what made you start asking and talking about God?
- 7:56Ron Meyers: Oh no.
- 7:56Bobi Beverly: So that night, I hate to say this because it really, anybody out there that's thinking life isn't worth living, please reach out because give me a sec.
- 8:07Bobi Beverly: It really is.
- 8:08Bobi Beverly: So I decided to commit suicide.
- 8:12Bobi Beverly: I have a love for guns, and so I had a SIG P232, and it was loaded and chambered in my house at all times for protection.
- 8:21Bobi Beverly: And I had a 13-year-old dog named Thor, and he was a cool dog.
- 8:26Bobi Beverly: And I thought, you know, people check on me daily, they'll come take care of him.
- 8:30Bobi Beverly: He's the only one that I was worried about at that time.
- 8:32Bobi Beverly: I didn't think about my daughter or my mom or my friends or anyone but myself.
- 8:38Bobi Beverly: I was very angry.
- 8:39Ron Meyers: So you wanted the pain to end.
- 8:41Bobi Beverly: Absolutely.
- 8:42Bobi Beverly: I felt worthless since I couldn't do what I wanted to do.
- 8:45Bobi Beverly: I was a very selfish person, by the way.
- 8:48Bobi Beverly: And this falls into being selfish when when you can't think beyond yourself, you know?
- 8:54Bobi Beverly: So I get the gun and I guzzle a bottle of wine and I'm sitting on the sofa.
- 8:58Bobi Beverly: I have it on my thigh.
- 8:59Bobi Beverly: And Thor is laying on the sofa next to me, looking at me.
- 9:03Bobi Beverly: And immediately I I'm I'm not gonna repeat the word I said at that point as I picked it up and I said, the heck with it.
- 9:10Bobi Beverly: And I put it on my head and I went and I had my finger on the trigger and was literally gonna pull it when Thor bit me.
- 9:17Bobi Beverly: I had that dog for 17 years.
- 9:20Bobi Beverly: He never bit me before or after that.
- 9:24Ron Meyers: So God can speak through a dog bite.
- 9:27unknown: Yes.
- 9:28Bobi Beverly: I jumped up, was the fastest I had moved in a year.
- 9:31Bobi Beverly: That was pretty painful, by the way.
- 9:33Bobi Beverly: The gun fell on the floor, and I looked at my dog, his little ears were up, and he was like, Let's go play.
- 9:40Bobi Beverly: That that's the face he has when he wants me to throw the ball.
- 9:43Bobi Beverly: And I thought, the last time I checked, blood was not part of our play.
- 9:49Bobi Beverly: And I'm just gonna go to bed.
- 9:51Bobi Beverly: I'm gonna go to bed.
- 9:52Bobi Beverly: I can't, you know, I stared at the gun for a little bit, not in anticipation of using it, but in the realization of what I almost did.
- 9:59Bobi Beverly: And I sat the gun down.
- 10:01Bobi Beverly: But as I'm going up the stairs, I'm challenging God.
- 10:05Bobi Beverly: I tell God, listen, if you're really up there, and of course I'm saying this out loud because I don't think he can hear me.
- 10:12Bobi Beverly: I'm saying it very loud.
- 10:14Bobi Beverly: If you're really up there, tomorrow, send me a check in the mail with the number seven in it, and that'll be proof, and I'll believe in you again.
- 10:23Bobi Beverly: And I passed out and I had a very fitful, horrific sleep.
- 10:28Bobi Beverly: And now when I woke up in the morning, not only does my back hurt, but my head hurts too from all the wine I drank the night before.
- 10:36Bobi Beverly: And I push myself up and I'm like, at that moment, you know, you're not thinking about it when your eyes first wake up.
- 10:41Bobi Beverly: I just went, Oh, oh my goodness, what I what did I almost do last night?
- 10:45Bobi Beverly: I'm an idiot.
- 10:46Bobi Beverly: And I think to myself, there's no God.
- 10:49Bobi Beverly: Why, why did I even pray?
- 10:50Bobi Beverly: I was mad at myself for reducing myself to one of those people that believes in a deity.
- 10:57Bobi Beverly: This isn't true.
- 10:58Bobi Beverly: There's no way it's true.
- 11:00Bobi Beverly: And I get get ready.
- 11:01Bobi Beverly: I do my morning routine was horrible.
- 11:04Bobi Beverly: I would have a cup of coffee with a bunch of sugar in it to amp myself up, take about 800 milligrams of ibuprofen, and have Pop-Tards.
- 11:12Bobi Beverly: I liked sugar.
- 11:13Bobi Beverly: I was just all about, and you know, go out and get the mail about 10 o'clock.
- 11:17Ron Meyers: Yeah, say, yeah, tell us about that mail.
- 11:19Ron Meyers: Was there a check in there?
- 11:22Bobi Beverly: I pulled out the mail, you know, and you go through it as you're walking back to the house and I go, What is this?
- 11:26Bobi Beverly: It's uh Quest Diagnostics.
- 11:28Bobi Beverly: And I go, hey, I've paid those, I pay them everything.
- 11:30Bobi Beverly: I don't know why they're sending me bills.
- 11:32Bobi Beverly: And I opened it up and it was a remake, rebate check for $17.46.
- 11:37Bobi Beverly: Wow.
- 11:38Bobi Beverly: A check with the number seven in it.
- 11:41Ron Meyers: So God was beginning to work with not only with the little dog that liked to bite you to stop you from doing something, but now he answered that, not because he's a genie in a bottle, because he loves you so much he didn't want you to do anything to hurt yourself.
- 12:00Ron Meyers: Have you ever thought about that?
- 12:03Bobi Beverly: Oh, every day that check is on my desk.
- 12:04Bobi Beverly: I kept that, I never cashed that check.
- 12:06Bobi Beverly: I kept it and I wrote ask, believe, receive on it.
- 12:08Bobi Beverly: And the feeling I had at that moment was besides weak knees and just this huge emotion that came into my chest was now what?
- 12:20Bobi Beverly: You know, what what do I do with I don't know how to pray?
- 12:24Bobi Beverly: Like how how do I get God back in my life?
- 12:27Bobi Beverly: So I literally said, okay, God, what do I do?
- 12:31Bobi Beverly: And that that day was just heavy breathing and crying and and just coming to the realization that I'd really did myself a disservice by allowing one person who wasn't with was using God basically to get to people to influence me in a negative way.
- 12:49Bobi Beverly: Right.
- 12:50Bobi Beverly: I also found out why bad things happen to good people.
- 12:55Ron Meyers: Why is that?
- 12:56Bobi Beverly: Because sometimes what we think is a horrible event is actually changing the trajectory of your life in the direction that you were meant to live.
- 13:07Bobi Beverly: Before you were born, God gives you everything you need to become human.
- 13:12Bobi Beverly: And after you're born, he gives you everything you need to be the person you were meant to be.
- 13:18Bobi Beverly: And society and your parents and even churches will influence your direction.
- 13:25Bobi Beverly: You have to remain open to God's divine direction, not the influences of the outside.
- 13:31Bobi Beverly: And I was influenced by the outside, and I wasn't helping people the way I can help people now.
- 13:36Ron Meyers: But you had to go through this whole learning process to do that, and just as you said, why do bad things happen to good people?
- 13:44Ron Meyers: I don't know all the answers.
- 13:46Ron Meyers: I agree with what you said, but I have found out there's a there's something in our mess that is a message to somebody else out there.
- 13:57Ron Meyers: Now, I didn't know much about your story, and you come in to my office, the studio to record this, and you're happy, you're glowing, and you know you look like the person.
- 14:08Ron Meyers: Oh, she can't have any problems in her life.
- 14:11Ron Meyers: Right.
- 14:12Ron Meyers: I say that because there are people listening right now, Bobby, that can relate to your story.
- 14:19Ron Meyers: They didn't get a check in the mail, they didn't have a dog bite them to wake up, but they're listening to this program now and they can hear right from you.
- 14:30Ron Meyers: What what advice, encouragement, would you give a man or a woman or a child or a teen, anyone listening?
- 14:39Bobi Beverly: I would say that if you're on a journey in your life and you find that it's very, very difficult, that it's probably, and this is my opinion, not definitely not God's, but it's probably the wrong direction.
- 14:52Bobi Beverly: You have to first off love yourself exactly as you are, because you are not going to do anything for yourself in a beneficial way if you don't like yourself.
- 15:03Bobi Beverly: And if you're having difficulty loving yourself, then you need to reach out to people to help you, at least at the beginning, learn to love yourself.
- 15:12Bobi Beverly: Because in doing that, you're you can open yourself up to let Jesus back into your life.
- 15:18Bobi Beverly: If you're hateful, it kind of blocks that.
- 15:22Bobi Beverly: I always call it a frequency, but really it's just God's divine direction.
- 15:27Bobi Beverly: It blocks it when you're angry.
- 15:29Bobi Beverly: And then there's different levels of depression and despair, of course.
- 15:33Bobi Beverly: There was I was one second away from not being here.
- 15:38Bobi Beverly: That's pretty deep.
- 15:39Bobi Beverly: And not everybody has a dog that's gonna bite them.
- 15:43Bobi Beverly: And so you have to reach out to the right people.
- 15:46Bobi Beverly: And you have to, you have to know that you're here for a reason and you haven't fulfilled your reason.
- 15:52Bobi Beverly: And you need to find what you love because what you love is what God put in your heart.
- 15:56Bobi Beverly: So when I say a bad thing happens to good people, when you're when you're just you're frustrated and you feel like, man, there's just it's one thing after another after another, I'm taking these hits.
- 16:07Bobi Beverly: You hear things that say you don't lose unless you quit.
- 16:11Bobi Beverly: Yet sometimes you're you're constantly bombarded with these challenges because you're on the wrong path.
- 16:18Bobi Beverly: So you have to open yourself up.
- 16:20Bobi Beverly: You have to be willing to pray.
- 16:22Ron Meyers: You know, I also discovered, Bobby, and maybe you did, when I quit trying to fix myself, and I just said, Jesus, I take you at your word.
- 16:32Ron Meyers: What you said, you said you'll never leave me, you'll never forsake me, you will never disown me.
- 16:38Ron Meyers: So now I'm putting my life in your hands.
- 16:41Ron Meyers: You've got to get me into the right frame of mind.
- 16:46Ron Meyers: Show me my purpose, and I will try as hard as I can to be still and listen.
- 16:52Ron Meyers: And you know, Bobby, I started something years ago that I talked to my listeners about, and that's coffee with Jesus every day, where I can just open up and talk to Jesus my problems, my hurts, maybe anger, whatever.
- 17:06Ron Meyers: But that has been the most healing thing that's done.
- 17:10Ron Meyers: And I think Jesus would like to tell and and correct me if you think I'm wrong, but I think Jesus wants to minister to everyone listening.
- 17:19Ron Meyers: He loves to minister to us, he loves to hold us in the palm of his hands and squeeze us so tight that you know that's a love that's indescribable, but it has to be from heaven, it has to be God loving us because once we feel that and we know that he's leading us, it doesn't take away the problems.
- 17:41Ron Meyers: But you know, life begins to start making sense.
- 17:45Bobi Beverly: Absolutely.
- 17:45Bobi Beverly: I still had a bad back.
- 17:47Bobi Beverly: I never did have that surgery, by the way.
- 17:49Bobi Beverly: I was drawn to go back to the gym.
- 17:53Bobi Beverly: I know that sounds crazy.
- 17:55Bobi Beverly: I did lay in bed going, really, God, I can barely walk.
- 18:00Bobi Beverly: How am I gonna go to the gym?
- 18:02Bobi Beverly: And that's that's a whole nother story.
- 18:03Bobi Beverly: But it eventually led me in being able to help people overcome catastrophic challenges.
- 18:10Ron Meyers: So when you wake up in the morning, yes, you're all refreshed.
- 18:14Ron Meyers: What is your goal for today?
- 18:16Ron Meyers: What what like when you got up today?
- 18:18Ron Meyers: You knew you were gonna come in and visit with me, but what's it like with a whole new outlook to life?
- 18:24Ron Meyers: You've got a second chance, a third chance.
- 18:27Ron Meyers: You know, God never stops giving us chances.
- 18:29Ron Meyers: So what's it like for you when you get up?
- 18:31Ron Meyers: And how is your day?
- 18:32Ron Meyers: How do you put Jesus in the middle of the problems of your life?
- 18:36Bobi Beverly: I don't have to put Jesus in.
- 18:37Bobi Beverly: He's he's there, he's just waiting for you to open up.
- 18:41Bobi Beverly: So I call it the first 15.
- 18:44Bobi Beverly: When I lay in bed, the first 15 minutes, when your eyes open up, the first thing I say is, Thank you, Jesus, for another day, because 107,000 people die every day.
- 18:53Bobi Beverly: Every day, and they thought they had another day and they didn't.
- 18:57Bobi Beverly: Even if I didn't sleep good last night, even if my, you know, aches and pains from working out too hard, you know, even if I have a challenge for that day, I I thank God for waking up.
- 19:09Bobi Beverly: Just that's how I start my day, and I smile.
- 19:12Bobi Beverly: It just changes the energy you feel.
- 19:15Ron Meyers: You know, and you wake up.
- 19:17Ron Meyers: I love how you wake up for those first 15 minutes.
- 19:20Ron Meyers: And one of the rituals I have of waking up, Lord, who am I going to meet today to share their story?
- 19:27Ron Meyers: Well, I remember a young lady, Sarah, Sarah Rhodes at Rotary said, Ron, you need to meet this lady, Bobby.
- 19:35Ron Meyers: What a story, a story of faith.
- 19:38Ron Meyers: And so God answers that because you and I are talking now.
- 19:43Ron Meyers: I say all that because there's so much more for each and every single person.
- 19:50Ron Meyers: Sometimes we just let the circumstances of our life dictate what we'll do when we just need to open up and say, God, I'm all yours.
- 19:59Ron Meyers: I'm all yours.
- 20:00Ron Meyers: I trust you.
- 20:01Ron Meyers: Yes, you've got my problems, you've got my weaknesses.
- 20:04Ron Meyers: Now let's do life together.
- 20:06Ron Meyers: And it's a good attitude, isn't it?
- 20:09Bobi Beverly: It's a wonderful attitude.
- 20:11Bobi Beverly: Even I'm telling you, the way I used to wake up, I was just angry to wake up, and no matter what's going on.
- 20:18Ron Meyers: You didn't like your life.
- 20:19Bobi Beverly: I didn't like it.
- 20:20Ron Meyers: You loved it.
- 20:21Ron Meyers: And it was really good.
- 20:22Bobi Beverly: It was a really good life.
- 20:24Ron Meyers: I just do you love your life now?
- 20:26Bobi Beverly: Times 3,000 infinity.
- 20:28Bobi Beverly: I mean, I I would like to.
- 20:39Ron Meyers: And that's enough for me to go today and tomorrow because someone needs to know about my Jesus.
- 20:47Ron Meyers: So let me ask you, Bobby, who is Jesus to you?
- 20:52Bobi Beverly: Oh, it's kind of interesting because I think about my grandma and her her Catholic upbringing and the the love of the Virgin Mary.
- 21:01Bobi Beverly: And I just feel like he's my guardian.
- 21:04Bobi Beverly: And and I feel like he's also my mentor in a way.
- 21:09Bobi Beverly: He I feel safe.
- 21:11Bobi Beverly: I'm not afraid of dying.
- 21:14Bobi Beverly: I'm not in a hurry to get there.
- 21:15Bobi Beverly: I don't know.
- 21:16Bobi Beverly: I just, I would have to say mentor, and I just feel light in instead of heavy every day.
- 21:23Bobi Beverly: I just feel light.
- 21:24Bobi Beverly: And so when I wake up and I say a prayer and I ask him for guidance, I usually almost end up with a couple of really good ideas that I can write about or or you know put into my Facebook page or just, you know, encourage people.
- 21:36Bobi Beverly: Yeah.
- 21:37Bobi Beverly: And so he's my he's my partner.
- 21:39Ron Meyers: So somebody listening and they relate more to you back in your early days when you were an atheist and they think, well, I'm never gonna believe in this God.
- 21:50Ron Meyers: Any words of wisdom that you'd share with that individual?
- 21:55Bobi Beverly: Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
- 21:56Bobi Beverly: Do not be stubborn in your Anger and self-loathing because that's what keeps you there.
- 22:03Bobi Beverly: I was not ready to be healed until my dog bit me and God spoke to me.
- 22:10Bobi Beverly: We don't always get that.
- 22:12Bobi Beverly: We have to release the anger of self-loathing because honestly, I really feel like that's where it brings you to that spot.
- 22:21Ron Meyers: Yeah, it sure does.
- 22:22Ron Meyers: And you are just a light, a bright light here.
- 22:26Ron Meyers: And uh it's so good to meet you and and your book.
- 22:30Ron Meyers: You talk about you have a book out.
- 22:32Ron Meyers: Now, what's the title of the book and how can listeners get a copy?
- 22:36Bobi Beverly: Well, it's a fun little book.
- 22:37Bobi Beverly: It's on Amazon, and it's called Lucky Break.
- 22:41Bobi Beverly: And I spell my name B-O-B-I Beverly.
- 22:46Bobi Beverly: B-E-V-E-R-L-Y.
- 22:47Bobi Beverly: That's the only trick about this name of mine that I've given myself because my official name is Roberta.
- 22:53Bobi Beverly: But Lucky Break is on Amazon under Bobby Beverly.
- 22:57Bobi Beverly: It's a it's a pink book with a big four-leaf clover on it.
- 23:01Ron Meyers: And do you have a social media page?
- 23:03Bobi Beverly: I do.
- 23:03Bobi Beverly: It's called Ageless with Bobby.
- 23:06Ron Meyers: Because it sounds like you put some inspiration there once in a while.
- 23:09Ron Meyers: So listeners may want to check that out.
- 23:12Ron Meyers: Ageless with Bobby.
- 23:14Ron Meyers: Yes, sir.
- 23:16Ron Meyers: Well, I'm gonna thank you for coming by and thank you for sharing your story with us.
- 23:21Ron Meyers: And we'll check.
- 23:22Bobi Beverly: It's my pleasure.
- 23:23Ron Meyers: We'll check in.
- 23:24Ron Meyers: I always like to ask people.
- 23:25Ron Meyers: The title of this program is Get the Hell Out of Your Life.
- 23:29Bobi Beverly: Yeah.
- 23:29Ron Meyers: So, Bobby, how do you get the hell out of your life?
- 23:32Bobi Beverly: Be open.
- 23:33Bobi Beverly: Don't wait for a dog to bite you.
- 23:36Bobi Beverly: Just be open.
- 23:37Ron Meyers: We're running out of time.
- 23:39Ron Meyers: I would love for you to pray for our listeners.
- 23:44Bobi Beverly: Well, I'm I'm gonna be honest and tell you that I've I've always had difficulty praying out loud.
- 23:48Bobi Beverly: I don't I don't know why I'm a little shy when it comes like that.
- 23:51Bobi Beverly: Comes to that, but I'm just gonna take a deep breath and say anyone who's listening who feels like that they're at their wits' end, know that today isn't your last day unless you make it your last day.
- 24:07Bobi Beverly: And it shouldn't be like that.
- 24:09Bobi Beverly: You can reach out, you can meet the right person, just take a deep breath and ask God to lead you, and you'll get there.
- 24:18Bobi Beverly: He will take care of you.
- 24:22Ron Meyers: I told you you would love the story from Bobby.
- 24:25Ron Meyers: Now, what stayed with me after talking with Bobby wasn't the miracle, it was the practice.
- 24:31Ron Meyers: As I was sitting across from her during our visit, you could see a glow, a happiness, an intentional pursuing of Jesus, a woman discovering her destiny in real time.
- 24:45Ron Meyers: Hearing Bobby's story wasn't an accident, it was a divine appointment.
- 24:51Ron Meyers: It felt like a call from God, not a call to ignore pain or pretend it didn't happen.
- 24:57Ron Meyers: Her back still hurts, and she doesn't sugarcoat that.
- 25:01Ron Meyers: The complications did not magically disappear, but something deeper shifted.
- 25:07Ron Meyers: She stopped asking, Why did this happen to me?
- 25:11Ron Meyers: And started asking, What if this is redirecting me?
- 25:16Ron Meyers: Instead of chasing motivation, she chose gratitude.
- 25:20Ron Meyers: Instead of waiting for healing, she honored movement one step at a time.
- 25:26Ron Meyers: Instead of religious noise, she built an honest rhythm.
- 25:31Ron Meyers: Coffee with Jesus, quiet time with Jesus, and thanking God for breath before the day demanded anything else.
- 25:41Ron Meyers: That's the kind of faith that survives real life.
- 25:44Ron Meyers: Not flashy, not loud, just faithful.
- 25:47Ron Meyers: Bobby's story invites us, you and I, to do the same, to turn our baggage over to God and rediscover joy, to let go of anger that's blocking the channel, to trade ego for service, and to find the passion to pursue our purpose again.
- 26:08Ron Meyers: You know, friends, sometimes despair doesn't need answers, it needs interruption.
- 26:13Ron Meyers: And sometimes that interruption looks like a loyal dog, maybe a small check, or a quiet voice that says, Your life still matters.
- 26:25Ron Meyers: How do you get the hell out of your life?
- 26:27Ron Meyers: Get on your knees and cry out to the Lord.
- 26:30Ron Meyers: He hears you right where you are.
- 26:32Announcer: How to get the hell out of your life?
- 26:33Announcer: Well, yeah, replace it with Jesus.
- 26:34Announcer: We gotta be born again, born of the Spirit, and that's by trusting Jesus Christ, turning from our sins and trusting Jesus.
- 26:40Announcer: How do you get the hell out of your life?
- 26:41Announcer: Oh gosh.
- 26:43Ron Meyers: Jesus.
- 26:43Ron Meyers: Jesus.
- 26:44Ron Meyers: Jesus, Jesus, Jesus.
- 26:45Ron Meyers: If you're listening and you feel stuck, if your pain has numbed you, if anger, shame, or disappointment has convinced you that you, well, are a little weird or disqualified.
- 27:00Ron Meyers: I want you to hear this clearly.
- 27:02Ron Meyers: God is not done with you.
- 27:04Ron Meyers: You are not done.
- 27:05Ron Meyers: You are not forgotten.
- 27:07Ron Meyers: And your interruption might be closer than you think.
- 27:11Ron Meyers: Start each day, the first 15 minutes.
- 27:14Ron Meyers: Thank God for breath.
- 27:16Ron Meyers: Have your conversation with Jesus.
- 27:18Ron Meyers: Be honest and open and share what's on your heart.
- 27:22Ron Meyers: And then choose one small action that honors your life today.
- 27:28Ron Meyers: That's how purpose comes back online.
- 27:31Ron Meyers: And if God has carried you through something, if your story includes grace you didn't earn, hope you didn't expect, or a turning point you never saw coming, someone else needs to hear it.
