- 0:01Stu does America.
- 0:06The day we've all been waiting for is finally here.
- 0:10Let's not waste even a moment
- 0:12and get started right away by doing
- 0:14the Jasmine Crockett era.
- 0:18Yes,
- 0:18she's actually running for Senate,
- 0:20and it's like my favorite thing in the whole wide world.
- 0:22Uh,
- 0:22Jasmine Crockett,
- 0:23of course,
- 0:23I'm a Riggis fan,
- 0:25uh,
- 0:25and I,
- 0:25I just love the fact that she's out there
- 0:27spewing the things that she spews on a day to day basis,
- 0:30she's very entertaining.
- 0:32Um,
- 0:32I've been told
- 0:33a terrible driver.
- 0:34I don't know if that part's true or not.
- 0:35I have to say
- 0:36I don't,
- 0:37I can't confirm that,
- 0:38but I do have eyewitnesses.
- 0:41Just throwing that out there,
- 0:42but in addition to that,
- 0:43she's a moron and a lovable moron,
- 0:45and the type of person you absolutely want to be your opponent.
- 0:48Let's get into her announcement because I think it's fascinating.
- 0:51Jasmine Crockett,
- 0:51uh,
- 0:52announces campaign for Texas Democratic Senate primary.
- 0:56There is a ton
- 0:57to go through.
- 0:57I mean,
- 0:58all the stuff that Jasmine Crockett said is as appropriate,
- 1:00you know,
- 1:01appropriately nuts as you think it is,
- 1:02but.
- 1:03I wanna start in another part of the announcement because
- 1:07you might know,
- 1:07like,
- 1:07you know,
- 1:08Kamala Harris or Barack Obama come out and they've got like Beyonce singing a song
- 1:13beforehand and they have that big announcement.
- 1:15Well,
- 1:15she did this as well,
- 1:16um,
- 1:17our friend Jasmine Crockett.
- 1:19I like to call her Jasmine,
- 1:20but Jasmine Crockett.
- 1:22Jasmine Crockett,
- 1:22uh,
- 1:23she had a uh campaign video
- 1:25uh that we're going to play first because this is her big announcement.
- 1:29And it's her,
- 1:31even her,
- 1:31now I say she's a moron and everyone's like,
- 1:33gosh,
- 1:33you can't say that about her,
- 1:34is that even true?
- 1:36I think she confirmed it because her entire announcement video
- 1:38seems to be Donald Trump calling her an idiot.
- 1:41Listen.
- 1:43How about this new one they have,
- 1:44their new star Crockett.
- 1:46How about her?
- 1:47She's the new star of the Democratic Party,
- 1:50Jasmine Krauss.
- 1:51They're in big trouble.
- 1:53But you have this woman Crockett.
- 1:55She's a very low IQ person.
- 1:57I watched her speak the other day.
- 1:59She's definitely a low IQ person.
- 2:02Crockett.
- 2:03Oh man,
- 2:04oh man.
- 2:05She's a very low IQ person.
- 2:09Somebody said the other day,
- 2:10she's one of the leaders of the party.
- 2:12I said,
- 2:12you've got to be kidding.
- 2:15Now they're going to rely on Crockett.
- 2:16Crockett's going to bring them back.
- 2:22Oh,
- 2:23that is so cringey.
- 2:24My favorite part.
- 2:25Now you might say,
- 2:26if you didn't hear,
- 2:27if you're on podcast,
- 2:27you didn't see any of that.
- 2:29She is,
- 2:30uh,
- 2:30staring to the side with kind of a profile view through all the Donald Trump insults.
- 2:33She then turns dramatically to the camera,
- 2:36then does my favorite part,
- 2:37which is the overly exaggerated uh arm folding.
- 2:40It's like.
- 2:45And then she does the like smile like I'm on top of this,
- 2:48I'm ready for a battle
- 2:50just like this,
- 2:50oh my little tagging.
- 2:52Uh,
- 2:52it's insane and I love it.
- 2:54OK,
- 2:54by the way,
- 2:54it was supposedly unlisted on YouTube,
- 2:56like she didn't even mean
- 2:57to put it out there,
- 2:58which is exactly how you'd expect she'd launch this campaign,
- 3:02like an idiot,
- 3:03which is great,
- 3:04I love it.
- 3:04OK,
- 3:05so let me get to the now opening entertainment because,
- 3:08uh,
- 3:08that's gonna be fun,
- 3:09and by the way.
- 3:09Wait,
- 3:09does she have a chance to win this thing?
- 3:11Uh,
- 3:11she does actually,
- 3:13as far as the primary goes.
- 3:14She is,
- 3:14uh,
- 3:15the number 2 on the list,
- 3:16which is a 48% chance.
- 3:17Colin Allred is at 1%,
- 3:19and that's,
- 3:19uh,
- 3:19we'll get into,
- 3:20you know,
- 3:20he left the race.
- 3:21James Tallarico is the other opponent,
- 3:2353% chance of winning.
- 3:25So even with her announcement,
- 3:26she's not in first place,
- 3:27but she's certainly up there.
- 3:28Now.
- 3:29She makes this big statement in her,
- 3:30uh,
- 3:31initial campaign video that,
- 3:32oh my gosh.
- 3:33Uh,
- 3:34I'm,
- 3:34I'm gonna put a huge dent in this race.
- 3:36They're terrified of me.
- 3:38Here are the chances of Democrats winning the Senate.
- 3:40You,
- 3:41what you see here,
- 3:41uh,
- 3:42and I'll explain this chart to our friends on the podcast,
- 3:45which is that the red line for Republicans is at 80% and has
- 3:48been at 80% for months and months and months and months and months,
- 3:51a 20% chance for the Democrats to win,
- 3:54and it's been the same for months and months and months and months and months.
- 3:57Not necessarily the impact probably she was looking
- 4:00for because there's been basically none so far
- 4:02now.
- 4:03I wanna tell you about
- 4:04Cure for Paranoia.
- 4:06Who is Cure for Paranoia?
- 4:09This is the the band,
- 4:11the person,
- 4:12the rapper,
- 4:13the,
- 4:13well,
- 4:14I shouldn't say a band.
- 4:14It is not a band.
- 4:16He is a member of the Dallas alternative hip hop collective.
- 4:21Which of course
- 4:23I'm sure you're a huge fan of,
- 4:24um,
- 4:25uh,
- 4:25why did he start this band?
- 4:27Well,
- 4:28he says,
- 4:28quote,
- 4:29I got placed on medication for bipolar depression,
- 4:32that's
- 4:33how his explanation starts.
- 4:35Uh,
- 4:35and by the way,
- 4:36not just bipolar,
- 4:37but paranoid schizophrenia.
- 4:39But it turned out that the music was more therapeutic
- 4:42than the medication was.
- 4:43Uh,
- 4:43so I created Cure for Paranoia Science in Action here from the Democrats.
- 4:47Um,
- 4:48it was a form of therapy,
- 4:49and I hope he's,
- 4:50he thinks it could be therapy for other people too.
- 4:52Apparently,
- 4:53um,
- 4:54he's reaching,
- 4:55uh,
- 4:55uh,
- 4:56a,
- 4:56a
- 4:57clear member of the paranoid schizophrenic community,
- 4:59Jasmine Crockett,
- 5:00because she's a big fan.
- 5:01And,
- 5:02uh,
- 5:02she invited him.
- 5:03To come out on stage
- 5:05and do a new rap that he,
- 5:07she,
- 5:07he had written,
- 5:08apparently kind of about Jasmine Crockett and about how bad Donald Trump is,
- 5:13and the way they decided to perform it was to play the recording of him doing the rap,
- 5:17and then him rap on top of it.
- 5:21And he can't really remember the words of his own rap,
- 5:24so he's reading them
- 5:25and then he can't keep up with his own rap,
- 5:27so he just stops halfway through.
- 5:29It is a hell of a clip,
- 5:30and I want to share it with you right now in its entirety.
- 5:33OK,
- 5:34she ain't never scared and she ain't never been.
- 5:36Who was willing to go toe to toe against the president?
- 5:39I can't wrap my head around someone who votes Republican.
- 5:43She advocate for feeding kids,
- 5:44they protect the folks touching them.
- 5:46Trump invading his own country with our army.
- 5:48What a joke.
- 5:49We remember.
- 5:50Pearl Harbor by illegally bombing boats,
- 5:53but y'all thought we wasn't gonna do nothing,
- 5:55buddy.
- 5:55Think again.
- 5:56They only trying to scare out of running
- 5:58because they think she'll win.
- 5:59Listen,
- 6:00I thought I told y'all we ain't never scared.
- 6:02Now look who name on the docket.
- 6:03Got two words for every racist bigot,
- 6:06Jasmine Crockett.
- 6:08racist,
- 6:09yeah,
- 6:09that might be true,
- 6:10but in all the history I know y'all hear the words the Nazi flaggy blue.
- 6:14So which side you wanna choose?
- 6:15Me,
- 6:15I hope my money goes to the side that isn't trying to say affordability is a hoax.
- 6:20She stand on business,
- 6:21Austin toes to Texas tote don't need no more
- 6:23bad built bleach blonde butch bodies moving forward.
- 6:38It's available on Spotify.
- 6:43OK,
- 6:43um,
- 6:43let me go to Jim Jasmine Crockett.
- 6:47I'm gonna be blasted on the way home.
- 6:48That and the My Little Pony song that I heard from Megyn Kelly today.
- 6:51Those two things are gonna be my soundtrack for the day.
- 6:53Um,
- 6:54how about,
- 6:54uh,
- 6:54Jasmine Crockett talking about her big announcement.
- 6:57Here she is,
- 6:58get pumped up,
- 6:59America.
- 7:00Yes,
- 7:00it is true.
- 7:01I am running to become your next
- 7:04United States Senator from the state of Texas.
- 7:07Yes,
- 7:08I,
- 7:08I need to go to these events.
- 7:10I'm your biggest fan.
- 7:11I honestly can't put into words what it means to me.
- 7:15You see,
- 7:16a lot of people think that making decisions like this.
- 7:19You take them lightly.
- 7:21No one thinks that
- 7:22I'm here to tell you that
- 7:23I understand that there's a responsibility.
- 7:26I'm not reading from my script,
- 7:27so they're about to be confused.
- 7:29Lots of people are very confused with what you're doing,
- 7:32Jasmine.
- 7:33Uh,
- 7:33but we appreciate it anyway.
- 7:34Uh,
- 7:34OK,
- 7:35let me talk to her.
- 7:36You know,
- 7:36she sees herself as a big transformational figure in politics,
- 7:39of course.
- 7:40I mean,
- 7:41she,
- 7:42I say this often about Gavin Newsom,
- 7:43but it's true with Crockett as well.
- 7:44Nobody loves Jasmine Crockett as much as Jasmine Crockett does.
- 7:48Here she is talking about how she's
- 7:49basically Obama.
- 7:51You know,
- 7:52I never thought that I would run for office,
- 7:54but some people are able to inspire others as they walk their own path.
- 7:59As a 27 year old public defender walking in her path,
- 8:03there was someone who came along and inspired me.
- 8:07There was this charismatic,
- 8:08funny,
- 8:09intelligent,
- 8:10and exciting
- 8:11young candidate with a funny name
- 8:13who just got into the US Senate
- 8:16and was running for president.
- 8:18Many doubted if this country was ready,
- 8:21while others,
- 8:23well,
- 8:23we got to work and kept hope alive.
- 8:26We didn't focus on the naysayers.
- 8:28We didn't get distracted by
- 8:29any pollsters.
- 8:30We
- 8:31remained laser focused on getting the person who was best for the job into the seat.
- 8:37We didn't let history diminish our hope
- 8:40in what was possible.
- 8:42We ignored that the devil on our shoulder
- 8:45that sometimes tries to tell us your vote doesn't matter.
- 8:50The country's not ready.
- 8:52He can't win,
- 8:54and responded with that timeless American creed.
- 8:59Yes,
- 8:59we
- 9:00can.
- 9:01Oh,
- 9:01drama.
- 9:02Yes,
- 9:03I'm talking about President Barack Obama.
- 9:05I love that.
- 9:06She's a big speech like.
- 9:08Yes,
- 9:08there's a man with a black mask,
- 9:11and he breathes and he's Luke's father.
- 9:13Yes,
- 9:14I'm talking about Darth Vader.
- 9:16Wow,
- 9:17what a what a journey you just took us on.
- 9:19Uh,
- 9:19that was incredible,
- 9:20Jasmine.
- 9:21Uh,
- 9:21OK,
- 9:22can Jasmine Crockett turn Texas blue?
- 9:24Of course she can.
- 9:26Uh,
- 9:26no,
- 9:26let's hope that she doesn't,
- 9:27but I still want her to win the primary.
- 9:29Here she is talking about that.
- 9:30Turning Texas blue
- 9:32is what I want to talk to y'all about today.
- 9:36Now,
- 9:37there are those that say ain't no way we didn't try it 50 kinds of ways.
- 9:41Let me be clear,
- 9:42y'all ain't never tried it the JC way.
- 9:47We
- 9:49We're used to telling us what I can't do,
- 9:51but they have no idea what Crockett's crew will do.
- 9:56And so I just want to be clear
- 9:58for all the haters in the back,
- 9:59listen up real loud.
- 10:01We're gonna get this thing done.
- 10:03Why did the haters come to your
- 10:05gathering?
- 10:05I,
- 10:05I,
- 10:06um,
- 10:07I just want to quote her because I,
- 10:08I feel like maybe you didn't get the,
- 10:10the full perspective of that particular,
- 10:12uh,
- 10:12soundbite.
- 10:14And this is the sort of eloquence I believe Barack Obama brought to the table as well.
- 10:18Now there are those who say ain't.
- 10:22No way we didn't try it at 50 kinds of ways.
- 10:27Let me be clear,
- 10:28and that was a good point for her to say,
- 10:30because when you say a sentence like that,
- 10:32being clearer is a good option,
- 10:34but she goes and becomes clear by saying,
- 10:37y'all ain't
- 10:38never tried it
- 10:40the JC way.
- 10:42We,
- 10:42we used to telling us what I can't do.
- 10:47But they have no
- 10:49idea what Crockett's crew
- 10:52will do.
- 10:54Doctor Seuss,
- 10:55original author of that,
- 10:56of course,
- 10:57um,
- 10:58by the way,
- 10:59this isn't about,
- 10:59I want you to know this is not about,
- 11:00she's not because she's like looking to be a riser in politics,
- 11:03she's not like.
- 11:04You know,
- 11:04ambitious or anything.
- 11:05Here she is talking about that.
- 11:07This isn't about me
- 11:09or them.
- 11:10It's about you
- 11:11and us.
- 11:13This is not about ambition.
- 11:15It's about,
- 11:15it's not about my ambition.
- 11:16It's about yours,
- 11:18your hopes and your dreams
- 11:20and a government that has your back,
- 11:22not pushes you back.
- 11:25Not about her at all.
- 11:26Now it's funny when you say it's not about a government that it's
- 11:29about a government that has your back and not pushes you back.
- 11:30You'd think it would be somebody
- 11:32that might define a conservative philosophy where they're not
- 11:34involved in every single aspect of your life.
- 11:36What she of course actually wants is the
- 11:38government in every single aspect of your life,
- 11:40no matter what.
- 11:41It's a strange way of stating that,
- 11:42but of course,
- 11:44she doesn't mean any of it.
- 11:46Um,
- 11:47OK,
- 11:47now you might say,
- 11:48uh,
- 11:49one thing I will not do is go to this woman for math,
- 11:52and I will say that's a very good idea.
- 11:54He or she is talking about her deep spreadsheet analysis of the polls.
- 11:58After evaluating the data,
- 12:00analyzing the trends,
- 12:02researching historic numbers,
- 12:03and combing over the cross tabs,
- 12:05it was clear
- 12:07the numbers were strongest for my candidacy for United States Senate.
- 12:10Is it?
- 12:10Because you're not winning.
- 12:12That's why I decided to enter this race,
- 12:16because otherwise
- 12:17I would have continued
- 12:18doing what I've always done,
- 12:20which is support
- 12:22whichever candidate had the strongest numbers.
- 12:25So I want to be clear,
- 12:27I'm not running just to run.
- 12:29This
- 12:29is about
- 12:31winning.
- 12:31Does anyone on earth believe that Jasmine Crockett was
- 12:35combing through the cross tabs of a poll?
- 12:38I'm gonna go with no,
- 12:39uh,
- 12:39first of all.
- 12:39Also,
- 12:40what kind of admission is this?
- 12:42What I've always done,
- 12:43which is support whichever candidate had the strongest numbers,
- 12:47it's like,
- 12:48look,
- 12:48I'm gonna do what I've always done,
- 12:49uh,
- 12:50support the team that won the Super Bowl last year.
- 12:53Now of course in my case.
- 12:54My team did win the Super Bowl last year.
- 12:56Let's delete what you think about the Eagles game
- 12:58last night and just remember that day back in,
- 13:00uh,
- 13:00February.
- 13:01OK,
- 13:01uh,
- 13:03this is actually kind of a funny moment.
- 13:04She's talking about children,
- 13:05and,
- 13:06you know,
- 13:06children are important to her.
- 13:07As you know,
- 13:08children are our future,
- 13:10uh,
- 13:10but not necessarily her future.
- 13:12Childcare has become a second rent.
- 13:15Y'all say amen if you got children because y'all know I ain't got none.
- 13:18I heard they're expensive.
- 13:20I also heard they expensive.
- 13:27OK,
- 13:28uh,
- 13:28here is,
- 13:28uh,
- 13:29her,
- 13:29of course,
- 13:30obviously the only reason that anyone would even consider voting for her
- 13:33is because they like her on,
- 13:35uh,
- 13:35you know,
- 13:36MSNBC when she says mean things about the president.
- 13:39Here they are.
- 13:40Well,
- 13:40Trump,
- 13:41I know you're watching,
- 13:43so let me tell you directly,
- 13:45he's watching.
- 13:45You're not entitled to a damn thing in Texas.
- 13:51To win easily.
- 13:54You better get to work because I'm coming for you.
- 13:58He knew
- 13:59he would lose,
- 14:01so Trump did what he always does
- 14:03resort to lying,
- 14:05cheating,
- 14:05and stealing.
- 14:07He has rigged our elections once again by changing
- 14:09the lines in the middle of an election cycle.
- 14:13That one's interesting because I find it fascinating that now
- 14:15the Democrats can accuse the Republicans of stealing elections.
- 14:19Uh,
- 14:19and cheating,
- 14:20which is fascinating.
- 14:21I,
- 14:21I,
- 14:21they were really upset about that when Donald Trump did it.
- 14:24Um,
- 14:24it's also the thing where she at the end is like,
- 14:25oh gosh,
- 14:26I'm living in your head rent-free,
- 14:28I know you're watching Donald Trump,
- 14:30which reminded me of this moment from Mad Men.
- 14:35I feel bad for you.
- 14:37I don't think about you at all.
- 14:42OK,
- 14:43so,
- 14:43uh,
- 14:43let me,
- 14:44I've got a couple more things that I'm starting to run late.
- 14:45Uh,
- 14:45here is,
- 14:46uh,
- 14:47let me see,
- 14:47should I do this one?
- 14:48Uh,
- 14:49I'm gonna skip this next one.
- 14:51let me just give you the last one.
- 14:52Can I give you the last one here about taxes because this is important.
- 14:55This is,
- 14:55we got no policy there,
- 14:56right?
- 14:56It was just a bunch of blathering,
- 14:58but we did get a policy in April 2024 that she wants to try out.
- 15:02Uh,
- 15:02she gives you the whole origin story of how she thought of it,
- 15:04which is fascinating,
- 15:05but
- 15:05here's a really important Jasmine Crockett policy idea.
- 15:09Just this past week I saw,
- 15:10I don't remember which celebrity,
- 15:12but it was actually a celebrity and I was like,
- 15:14I don't know that that's not necessarily a bad idea,
- 15:16but I'd have to think through it a lot.
- 15:18One of the things that they proposed is black folk not have to pay taxes
- 15:21for a certain amount of time because then again,
- 15:23that puts money back in your pocket,
- 15:25but at the same time.
- 15:27It may not be as objectionable to some people
- 15:30about actually giving out dollars,
- 15:33but obviously then you start dealing with the
- 15:34different tax brackets and things like that,
- 15:36and that's one of the reasons
- 15:38that,
- 15:38you know,
- 15:39we argue that reparations make sense because
- 15:42so many black folk,
- 15:43not only do you owe for the labor that was stolen and killed and all the other things,
- 15:48right?
- 15:49But the fact is,
- 15:50like,
- 15:50we end up being so far behind,
- 15:52right?
- 15:52And so it's like,
- 15:53how do you bring
- 15:55forth people,
- 15:56exactly,
- 15:56and so it's like if you,
- 15:58if you do the no tax thing
- 16:00for people that are already,
- 16:02say,
- 16:02struggling and aren't really paying taxes in the first place,
- 16:06it doesn't really exactly
- 16:09that's a fascinating one because.
- 16:10She's working through it with her brain,
- 16:12of course,
- 16:12obviously,
- 16:13quite obviously it's unconstitutional to say a race isn't going to pay taxes,
- 16:17number one.
- 16:18Beyond that,
- 16:19she regards like,
- 16:20hey,
- 16:20wait a minute,
- 16:21the people that don't pay taxes wouldn't get any help.
- 16:24And then you realize,
- 16:25well,
- 16:25they kind of already implemented this policy by not charging the people
- 16:30who are struggling any taxes.
- 16:32So,
- 16:32uh,
- 16:33the brain's working,
- 16:34but I can tell you this,
- 16:35saying only whitey should pay taxes is a winning strategy for Texas,
- 16:40that I'm sure of.
- 16:42The,
- 16:42the blatant racism against white people
- 16:45and just giving entire races
- 16:47free passes on taxes,
- 16:48that's going to win you Texas like nobody's business.
- 16:51I have more,
- 16:52if you can believe it,
- 16:53on Jasmine Crockett.
- 16:54We'll do that next.
- 17:06Uh,
- 17:06once again,
- 17:06as you're thinking about sports right now,
- 17:08do not think about what happened to the Philadelphia Eagles last night.
- 17:10Now this is one of the biggest stretches of the year for sports fans.
- 17:13Uh,
- 17:14lots of great stuff going on,
- 17:14like all the sports outside of baseball,
- 17:16pretty much in action.
- 17:17Uh,

- 17:18fast way to stay plugged into everything that's going on.

- 17:30that's your lineup,
- 17:30and you're rebuilding it takes basically like a few seconds.

- 17:43if you want to go for the max payout.
- 17:45Uh,

- 17:46which is basically getting the same athlete.
- 17:48In a bunch of different stack categories in a single lineup.
- 17:50You have tons of ways to play.
- 17:51It's really,
- 17:52really fun.

- 18:14and it's good
- 18:15to be right.
- 18:18Let's dive back in and continue to rocket
- 18:20with Crockett.
- 18:21Yes,
- 18:22Jasmine is in the race and
- 18:24her pastor is also in the race.
- 18:26Jasmine Crockett's pastor jumps into the race for her North Texas seat,
- 18:29which they talk a lot about being drawn away,
- 18:31but they,
- 18:32it was adjusted,
- 18:33uh,
- 18:33with the.
- 18:34Redistricting process,
- 18:35but was not eliminated,
- 18:37so they need somebody to run for that race.
- 18:38It's gonna be the pastor and,
- 18:39you know,
- 18:40I,
- 18:40I will say,
- 18:40you might say,
- 18:41well,
- 18:41well,
- 18:41you're playing,
- 18:42you know,
- 18:42what do,
- 18:42what do you got here?
- 18:43I,
- 18:43I gotta tell you,
- 18:44uh,
- 18:44this is a,
- 18:45this is quality stuff.
- 18:46You're gonna like this guy.
- 18:47Uh,
- 18:48ready to,
- 18:48uh,
- 18:48his name is,
- 18:49uh.
- 18:53Frederick Haynes,
- 18:54the 3rd,
- 18:55this is entertaining stuff.
- 18:56Here he is talking on Jasmine's behalf.
- 19:00I'm so excited,
- 19:01I can't even hide it.
- 19:02Why?
- 19:02Because whenever justice needs a defender
- 19:06and democracy needs a bodyguard,
- 19:09who you gonna call?
- 19:10Jasmine Crockett.
- 19:12Jasmine Crockett is that sister,
- 19:15that sister who stands 10 toes down
- 19:18for what is right in the face of what is wrong.
- 19:22I love it because of the fact that the Republicans
- 19:25Use racism to draw her out of her own district.
- 19:30What they intended for evil,
- 19:32God has a way of working out for good
- 19:35and so now this same Jasmine Crockett is ready to step up
- 19:40and when she steps up,
- 19:42you know that she speaks out.
- 19:44I,
- 19:46I find these types of pastors to just be so fascinating,
- 19:48like they're just,
- 19:49they're so able to just,
- 19:50without stuttering or stopping or you know,
- 19:53even seeming to gather their thoughts at all,
- 19:54they're just that rhythmic speech,
- 19:56it's really legitimately impressive.
- 19:57I don't know how they do it.
- 19:58Um,
- 19:59anyway,
- 19:59uh,
- 20:00uh,
- 20:00you might not know,
- 20:01you might think,
- 20:02is,
- 20:03is Jasmine Crockett a bad sister?
- 20:06Uh,
- 20:06you might have an opinion on that,
- 20:08but did you know
- 20:09she's actually.
- 20:11The baddest sister.
- 20:13Everybody in the nation
- 20:15knows Jasmine Crockett.
- 20:17She's the baddest sister out there.
- 20:20I'm talking about Jasmine Crockett and yet as amazing as she is,
- 20:24as phenomenal as she is,
- 20:27she's remained a friend
- 20:28to everyday people.
- 20:30She's someone you can talk to and touch.
- 20:33She listens to you.
- 20:35I'm talking about Jasmine Crockett.
- 20:37So since Jasmine
- 20:38is a fighter,
- 20:39since she's a facilitator and a friend
- 20:42to everyday people,
- 20:43I guess I'll close by saying the future is bright.
- 20:48I don't,
- 20:49I don't even understand.
- 20:49By the way,
- 20:50is that
- 20:51part of the deal that we can touch Jasmine Crockett,
- 20:54because I,
- 20:54I don't really have interest in that,
- 20:55but
- 20:56I would think she'd be a little upset
- 20:58about that particular proposal from the pastor,
- 21:00but
- 21:01apparently,
- 21:01if you're gonna vote for her,
- 21:02you can also
- 21:03touch her.
- 21:06By the way,
- 21:06polls on this particular race,
- 21:08there's a,
- 21:08so you have
- 21:10basically 3 things going on.
- 21:113 Republicans,
- 21:12uh,
- 21:12in the race against 2 different Democrats.
- 21:15Let me give you the breakdowns here.
- 21:16Uh,
- 21:17Jasmine Crockett versus Ken Paxton,
- 21:19it's a Crockett trailing by 2.
- 21:22Hunt versus Crockett is,
- 21:24uh,
- 21:24Crockett trailing by 5.
- 21:26C Cornyn versus Crockett is Crockett trailing by 6.
- 21:30Tallarico is the,
- 21:31the opponent,
- 21:32uh,
- 21:32in the primary for the Democrats,
- 21:34again,
- 21:34going against Crockett.
- 21:36He trails by 3
- 21:37against Paxson,
- 21:386 against Hunt,
- 21:40and 3 against Cornyn.
- 21:41So,
- 21:42uh,
- 21:42you know,
- 21:43the,
- 21:43the idea that she's going to perform much,
- 21:44much worse than anyone else in the field,
- 21:47that doesn't really seem to be the case.
- 21:48We know Colin Allred already dropped out of this.
- 21:51You might say,
- 21:51well,
- 21:52uh,
- 21:52why do you care so much about Texas,
- 21:54uh,
- 21:54Senate?
- 21:55I mean,
- 21:55obviously I live here,
- 21:56but why do you care?
- 21:57Um,
- 21:58if you're not in Texas,
- 21:59it's just gonna be a lot of fun.
- 22:00That's why you care,
- 22:01because this is gonna be an awesome race to follow.
- 22:03Now,
- 22:03of course,
- 22:03the Senate race is massively important,
- 22:05and I,
- 22:05I want to describe it to you this way.
- 22:08People,
- 22:08people come to me and they say,
- 22:09you keep cheering on Jasmine Crockett,
- 22:10you better watch it.
- 22:12You better watch it.
- 22:12You know,
- 22:13what if she wins?
- 22:14It's a great point,
- 22:15and I will be very regretful if that comes to pass.
- 22:18Now I will say,
- 22:19uh,
- 22:19I do have fears over this at some level,
- 22:22because the American people at times can be really,
- 22:24really shockingly bizarrely dumb when the people that they vote for,
- 22:28we've seen this in the past,
- 22:30uh,
- 22:30over and over again.
- 22:30I will say.
- 22:32The Democrats probably had conversations like I'm
- 22:35having when talking about Donald Trump.
- 22:36Oh my gosh,
- 22:37we'd love to have him be the opponent.
- 22:38Are you crazy?
- 22:39And then of course
- 22:40they realize that's 2015 and he's about to win two presidential
- 22:44terms over the next decade,
- 22:45so.
- 22:46This can burn you,
- 22:48and if it goes wrong,
- 22:49I just wanna uh uh say,
- 22:50first of all,
- 22:51um,
- 22:51you're free to uh talk to me and say how angry you are at me.
- 22:56I get it,
- 22:56you know,
- 22:57it's gonna be a terrible,
- 22:57terrible moment,
- 22:58but
- 22:59it's gonna be the least of your worries,
- 23:00because if she's able,
- 23:01a woman like this,
- 23:03a crazy person in every single possible way,
- 23:07is able to win the state of Texas.
- 23:092026 is going so badly that the last thing you're
- 23:12gonna care about is what's going on in Texas,
- 23:14because it's going to be a massive majority for
- 23:16the Democrats if she's able to win this.
- 23:18She is
- 23:19a terrible candidate
- 23:21for Texas.
- 23:22Uh,
- 23:22she's fun.
- 23:23I love her.
- 23:24This is why I want her in the race,
- 23:25because she's so terrible.
- 23:26Let me just give you a little insight on how she is behind the scenes.
- 23:29I've already mentioned
- 23:31there are reports she's a terrible driver.
- 23:35I'm not going to tell you where that came from,
- 23:36but there are reports that she's a terrible
- 23:40driver.
- 23:42Cuts people off,
- 23:43uh,
- 23:44frequently in her travels.
- 23:45I don't know.
- 23:46I mean,
- 23:46it's a,
- 23:46it's a rumor,
- 23:47it's a rumor going around,
- 23:48but
- 23:48this is also a little bit more than a rumor,
- 23:50a story called A Democrat for the Trump Era,
- 23:53Jasmine Crockett,
- 23:54is testing out the coarse style of politics.
- 23:58That the GOP has embraced,
- 24:00so
- 24:00even Jasmine Crockett
- 24:02is Trump's fault,
- 24:04somehow.
- 24:04But what's fascinating about this more than anything else
- 24:06is the author of this uh particular story,
- 24:09when she posted her own story,
- 24:10it's in the Atlantic,
- 24:11she's no right winger,
- 24:12um,
- 24:13she posted this story
- 24:15and she posted it with this anecdote which explains Jasmine Crockett so perfectly.
- 24:20Uh,
- 24:20Elaine Godfrey is the author.
- 24:22She says,
- 24:224 days before my story was published,
- 24:25Crockett called me to express frustration
- 24:28that I had reached out to so many House members without telling her first.
- 24:33She was,
- 24:34she told me,
- 24:35quote,
- 24:36shutting down the profile
- 24:38and revoking all permissions.
- 24:42I don't think you understand how any of this works.
- 24:45The reporter doesn't need to tell you when they're calling people for comment,
- 24:49#1.
- 24:502,
- 24:52you don't get to shut down a profile.
- 24:54That's not how that works.
- 24:56And number 3,
- 24:57there is no,
- 24:58there are no permissions you're revoking.
- 25:01They don't have to respect that,
- 25:03and there's nothing that you give a journalist
- 25:06appropriate permission to do.
- 25:08So anyway.
- 25:09She's a complete moron and nonsensical,
- 25:11and that's why I want her to win the Democratic prim primary so much.
- 25:14Uh,
- 25:15of course,
- 25:15yes,
- 25:15and,
- 25:16and all these people are getting on board now.
- 25:17Oh,
- 25:17Jasmine Crockett,
- 25:182026,
- 25:19yeah,
- 25:19sure,
- 25:19whatever.
- 25:20I'm ahead of the game.

- 27:10the podcast.
- 27:11Uh,
- 27:11he has a new piece out over The Blaze as well.
- 27:13It's Can conservatives reclaim
- 27:15Pop Culture.
- 27:16Be sure to check that out.
- 27:16I want to get into that in a second.
- 27:18Christian,
- 27:18uh,
- 27:19you know,
- 27:19people have seen you on The Blaze and everywhere,
- 27:21Megyn Kelly,
- 27:22I know you were on with her as well.
- 27:24Uh,
- 27:24I was there today too.
- 27:26Uh,
- 27:26so,
- 27:26of course,
- 27:26uh,
- 27:27check those episodes out.
- 27:28Thanks for coming on the program.
- 27:29My pleasure.
- 27:30Glad to be here.
- 27:31Yeah,
- 27:31it's great to have you.
- 27:32Um,
- 27:32I wanna start with Jimmy Kimmel.
- 27:33Uh,
- 27:33Kimmel,
- 27:34of course,
- 27:35uh,
- 27:35he was brutally targeted,
- 27:37uh,
- 27:37by the administration,
- 27:38and I,
- 27:39I mean it was almost a death threat because he
- 27:42lost 4 crappy shows that he could have possibly done.
- 27:45Um,
- 27:46and it was interesting to see because this
- 27:48business,
- 27:49as we know with Colbert,
- 27:51is in massive trouble.
- 27:52Outside of the fact,
- 27:53I think even that they're liberal,
- 27:55I,
- 27:55I just the model is a complete disaster,
- 27:57it's so expensive.
- 27:59So Colbert is gone.
- 28:00There was some speculation that Kimmel would be gone as well.
- 28:03They seem to be bringing him back,
- 28:04but is this a real,
- 28:06is this a real vote of confidence?
- 28:08Uh,
- 28:09not even close.
- 28:09He's gonna be back for about a year plus,
- 28:11that's a new contract,
- 28:12and usually when
- 28:13big stars sign contract,
- 28:15contracts,
- 28:16it's not
- 28:16this limited,
- 28:17but I think there's a real reason for it.
- 28:19Listen,
- 28:19the bottom line is that this
- 28:21platform is dying.
- 28:23Uh,
- 28:23revenues are.
- 28:24way down,
- 28:25ratings are down as well.
- 28:27And,
- 28:27you know,
- 28:27what happened with ABC when they suspended Jimmy Kimmel for a week,
- 28:31the Hollywood community rose up and just outraged.
- 28:34They were just furious about it,
- 28:36in part because they lost the vehicle to promote their shows,
- 28:38in part because they love his messaging.
- 28:40And I think that ABC said,
- 28:42oh my gosh,
- 28:42we can't really get rid of him right now.
- 28:44The black guy within our community would be pretty intense.
- 28:47So this one year-ish
- 28:50contract is a way to kind of get out of that
- 28:52area,
- 28:53let things cool down,
- 28:54and then if the,
- 28:54the marketplace still hasn't changed
- 28:56in a year or so,
- 28:57they could probably part ways.
- 28:58Yeah,
- 28:59I,
- 28:59you know,
- 28:59I mentioned my,
- 29:00my love of a radio.
- 29:01Station in New York,
- 29:02WFAN a couple of times today on various shows for whatever reason,
- 29:05but
- 29:06I remember back in the day,
- 29:07uh,
- 29:08they WFAN had a host,
- 29:09uh,
- 29:09Steve Summers,
- 29:09who was,
- 29:10you know,
- 29:11a host on the show,
- 29:12a,
- 29:12a big host on the station,
- 29:14but he was gonna be let go.
- 29:16And,
- 29:16uh,
- 29:17when he was being let go,
- 29:19Jerry Seinfeld,
- 29:19a huge star at the time
- 29:21who was a real fan of him,
- 29:22said.
- 29:23You can't do this,
- 29:24like I will come on,
- 29:25I will do segments with you,
- 29:26that he came on the air.
- 29:27I remember it all playing out.
- 29:29It's sort of a version of that,
- 29:30right?
- 29:30Like they're saying like,
- 29:31well,
- 29:32we love this guy,
- 29:33we don't care if he doesn't get any ratings,
- 29:35and ABC knows they need these relationships with these stars,
- 29:38so they're just like,
- 29:39ah,
- 29:39I guess we just,
- 29:40we just sign him for another year and see what happens.
- 29:42Yeah,
- 29:43there's a couple of things that'll play out.
- 29:44One is,
- 29:45listen,
- 29:45Colbert's gonna go away in May
- 29:47of 2026.
- 29:48Now it's possible that some of Colbert's audience
- 29:50will gravitate to Kimmel to a very similar act at this point.
- 29:53So I think they may be holding out hope that his ratings will perk up.
- 29:57I think that's a possibility there as well.
- 29:59Well.
- 30:00So,
- 30:00uh,
- 30:00that's could happen.
- 30:02But also,
- 30:03you know,
- 30:03the thing we're not talking about as much as the reports were that
- 30:06the Late Show with Stephen Colbert was losing CBS $40 million a year.
- 30:11Now,
- 30:11we get no information about what Jimmy Kimmel Live is making or losing,
- 30:15but the shows are pretty similar.
- 30:17The ratings are similar,
- 30:18though Colbert's almost always been beating him.
- 30:21Is that show losing money?
- 30:23And if so,
- 30:23why is it still on the air in the first place?
- 30:26What's going on behind the scenes?
- 30:27I mean,
- 30:28is this a charity they're running,
- 30:29or is this just a way that they
- 30:31love the messaging that goes out with these shows,
- 30:33and they're willing to bite the bullet and say,
- 30:35hey,
- 30:35we'll lose some cash,
- 30:36we'll make it up elsewhere.
- 30:37We just want this on the air.
- 30:39It's a question.
- 30:39No one's asking.
- 30:40Yeah,
- 30:40I,
- 30:40I do think that's true.
- 30:41I mean,
- 30:41there,
- 30:41there's no way they're making money on that show,
- 30:43and it's fascinating because it used to be like
- 30:45this was the thing where,
- 30:46hey,
- 30:46we don't want to spend all this money on,
- 30:48uh,
- 30:48you know,
- 30:48written drama or written comedy.
- 30:51We wanna save money,
- 30:52we're just gonna throw a guy out there and he can do it,
- 30:53and now they're losing tens of millions of dollars on those shows too,
- 30:56which is amazing.
- 30:57Um,
- 30:57I want to move over to another business that's fascinating to me,
- 31:01um,
- 31:01this whole situation with,
- 31:03um,
- 31:03Warner Brothers,
- 31:04Netflix,
- 31:05and Paramount.
- 31:07Uh,
- 31:07if you haven't followed the story,
- 31:08uh,
- 31:08Warner Brothers reported sale to Netflix,
- 31:11which was not really the expected winner of that battle.
- 31:15Huge price.
- 31:15I can't even remember,
- 31:16maybe you know,
- 31:16uh,
- 31:17$83 billion is the number,
- 31:19a huge number to get their whole catalog and everything,
- 31:20move it over to Netflix.
- 31:22Um,
- 31:23uh,
- 31:23Paramount,
- 31:23who was the
- 31:25favorite it seemed like coming into this negotiation,
- 31:28uh,
- 31:28winds up saying,
- 31:29well,
- 31:29we're going to try a hostile takeover bid.
- 31:32What does all this mean,
- 31:33you know,
- 31:33for,
- 31:34for these companies and for us as people who just like watching television?
- 31:38Well,
- 31:38it's gonna get ugly,
- 31:39I'm sure.
- 31:39It's already ugly as is.
- 31:41Uh,
- 31:42this is partly about eliminating the competition.
- 31:45This is partly about getting
- 31:46more intellectual properties
- 31:48in your arena.
- 31:49So if it's HBO
- 31:51you've got Game of Thrones,
- 31:52The Sopranos,
- 31:53you've got DC Comics,
- 31:55uh,
- 31:55there's so many different,
- 31:56uh,
- 31:57Ways to go about this.
- 31:57Harry Potter,
- 31:58you could spin it off in a million new new directions.
- 32:01That's part of it as well.
- 32:02Also,
- 32:02Netflix is massive,
- 32:03it's the real streaming giant at this point.
- 32:06You take that platform,
- 32:07you add all of HBO content and other Warner Brothers properties,
- 32:11it's gonna be really tough to beat them.
- 32:12So that's part of what's going on.
- 32:13Of course,
- 32:14the bigger question
- 32:15for many is the theatrical model,
- 32:17which,
- 32:17which has been struggling in years,
- 32:18the ticket sales aren't what they used to be.
- 32:20And now you've got Netflix,
- 32:21a company that likes you to Netflix and chill,
- 32:24stay at your house,
- 32:25don't go to the theater.
- 32:26Now they're saying they're gonna honor the theatrical model and
- 32:29let Warner Brothers films keep being played on big screens.
- 32:33Will that hold?
- 32:34I mean,
- 32:34is this a pinky promise?
- 32:35What's going on here?
- 32:36So,
- 32:37lots of big questions,
- 32:38and there's so much flux in Hollywood that
- 32:40this is the main story,
- 32:41and it really,
- 32:42part of me thinks
- 32:44the changes are inevitable,
- 32:45maybe this will hasten them,
- 32:46I don't know,
- 32:46but it,
- 32:47it's a big deal,
- 32:47and
- 32:48We should all be paying attention to because the future of content may
- 32:52really depend on it.
- 32:52Yeah,
- 32:53my favorite conspiracy theory on this is that,
- 32:56uh,
- 32:56Netflix went in there and just kept bidding higher and
- 32:58higher and higher and higher until they won the bid,
- 33:01knowing that either,
- 33:02you know,
- 33:03they,
- 33:03you know,
- 33:03might lose in some,
- 33:04uh,
- 33:05you know,
- 33:05hostile takeover and cost Paramount a bunch of
- 33:07money or that the government will overturn it.
- 33:09And so they could just waste two years of
- 33:12Paramount's time.
- 33:13I,
- 33:13I,
- 33:13I,
- 33:14I don't know that I believe it,
- 33:14but I think it's a fun conspiracy.
- 33:16That's actually better than most,
- 33:18I have to say.
- 33:19It could be a kernel of truth there,
- 33:20but who knows?
- 33:21But it is a big deal
- 33:22and it does shape a lot of entertainment
- 33:24companies,
- 33:25uh,
- 33:25you know,
- 33:25and it could change the culture.
- 33:27I mean.
- 33:28People,
- 33:29younger generation,
- 33:30maybe not as enamored of going to the theaters.
- 33:32The prices are expensive.
- 33:33The popcorn is exorbitant just to buy a,
- 33:35you know,
- 33:35just to get a little snack.
- 33:36And,
- 33:37you know,
- 33:37maybe people just want to stay home,
- 33:39play video games,
- 33:39go on social media.
- 33:41There are cultural changes afoot
- 33:43that are.
- 33:44Really,
- 33:45uh,
- 33:45far different than any other threat to the theatrical model than ever before.
- 33:48You know,
- 33:48we worried about VHS and,
- 33:49and Blu-ray
- 33:51and the,
- 33:51the rise of pay TV and cable TV.
- 33:53Oh,
- 33:53it's gonna kill the movies.
- 33:55Not even close.
- 33:56This,
- 33:56this feels different.
- 33:57Yeah,
- 33:58it does.
- 33:58I although I will say I still freaking love going to the movie theater,
- 34:01especially the dine-in theaters.
- 34:02I could do that like literally every night and be happy with my life.
- 34:05Um,
- 34:05let me move over to a movie that's coming to be in theaters very soon.
- 34:08The,
- 34:08the 3rd
- 34:09sequel in the series for Avatar.
- 34:12They are saying,
- 34:13um,
- 34:14you know,
- 34:14a couple of $2 billion might come in on this.
- 34:17I had a bet with a friend of mine who's
- 34:19kind of a Hollywood insider and before the second one.
- 34:22Uh,
- 34:22came out and the bet was basically my bet was
- 34:25no one,
- 34:26this has made no impact,
- 34:27this movie,
- 34:28no one can name a character.
- 34:29There's no memes from this movie,
- 34:31there's no scene that people remember.
- 34:33It just is like a blob of technology
- 34:36and it's not even a movie.
- 34:38He was totally on the other side of that.
- 34:39At the end of the day,
- 34:40he was kind of proven right,
- 34:41though I did win the bet by like 30.
- 34:43100 $0 on box office revenue.
- 34:45I was proud of myself on that.
- 34:46But like,
- 34:46you know,
- 34:47at the end of the day,
- 34:47it did make a ton of money.
- 34:49What are we expecting out of this new one?
- 34:51Well,
- 34:51actually,
- 34:52you're both right.
- 34:53It has no
- 34:54cultural footprint.
- 34:55You don't see kids dress up as Jake Sully,
- 34:57one of the characters.
- 34:57I had to kind of do a double take on that one just to remember it.
- 35:00You don't see the lunchboxes.
- 35:02You don't see people arguing on social media.
- 35:05It just exists.
- 35:06But the bottom line is that James Cameron,
- 35:08the director,
- 35:08makes
- 35:09roller coaster rides,
- 35:10and his movies look spectacular,
- 35:13and he has this grasp of 3D that no one else has.
- 35:16So even if the new film is very successful,
- 35:18and I think it will be,
- 35:19There's no,
- 35:20there's no fallout from it in a,
- 35:22in a creative fashion.
- 35:23There's no,
- 35:24there's no,
- 35:25people just don't talk about it.
- 35:26So,
- 35:26like I said,
- 35:27you're both right,
- 35:27it's gonna make a lot of money.
- 35:28But
- 35:29what is this?
- 35:30I mean,
- 35:31you know,
- 35:31we still talk about the Lord of the Rings,
- 35:32Star Wars,
- 35:33we fight about the MCU.
- 35:34I get all that.
- 35:35We bicker,
- 35:36we,
- 35:36we agree,
- 35:37we disagree.
- 35:38Nobody cares about these movies and just recently,
- 35:41James Cameron said,
- 35:42oh by the way,
- 35:43this is gonna close the chapter on this
- 35:45Avatar cycle.
- 35:46I may make more movies,
- 35:47but it's gonna be a different saga.
- 35:48So I think even he admits,
- 35:51As successful as they are,
- 35:52and they're wildly successful,
- 35:54in a way,
- 35:54he missed the target.
- 35:55It's very odd.
- 35:56And I,
- 35:57I can't think of any other
- 35:58franchise or any other property that has this quality,
- 36:01this lack of anything.
- 36:02It really is the one of the strangest things I've ever seen in Hollywood.
- 36:07Like,
- 36:07you're right,
- 36:07there's just like no,
- 36:08there's no like big theories,
- 36:10there's no debates,
- 36:11there's no like,
- 36:11it just feels like it's just this dead thing
- 36:13that just keeps making $2 billion every 3 years.
- 36:15It's a very strange thing.
- 36:17Um,
- 36:17you mentioned looking spectacular,
- 36:19which brings me to,
- 36:19uh,
- 36:20Sydney Sweeney.
- 36:21Uh,
- 36:21she's in the news again.
- 36:22She's doing an interview with,
- 36:23uh,
- 36:24with people,
- 36:25and she's finally addressing,
- 36:27um,
- 36:27the,
- 36:28the American,
- 36:29um,
- 36:29uh,
- 36:30what was it,
- 36:30America,
- 36:31uh,
- 36:31American Eagle,
- 36:32American Eagle.
- 36:32Thank you so much.
- 36:33I couldn't remember it.
- 36:33Um,
- 36:34the American Eagle,
- 36:35um,
- 36:35commercial that she made,
- 36:36which is the,
- 36:37the,
- 36:37you know,
- 36:37I have great jeans,
- 36:38um,
- 36:39she says,
- 36:40uh,
- 36:41you know,
- 36:41I,
- 36:42I was worried.
- 36:42It was gonna be some big apology,
- 36:44which I would be very annoyed by.
- 36:46It's not at all,
- 36:46it's just her saying like,
- 36:47look,
- 36:48I'm gonna address it because everyone's talking about it and it's
- 36:50become more of a distraction that I'm not saying anything,
- 36:52but like I just like jeans,
- 36:53like it's,
- 36:53it's a jeans commercial.
- 36:54I don't know what people took out of it.
- 36:56I have no
- 36:57connection to those views whatsoever,
- 36:58it's insanity.
- 36:59I just really like jeans,
- 37:00I really like these jeans.
- 37:02I don't know,
- 37:02she just seems like the person doing it right,
- 37:04you know,
- 37:04she just seems like she's kind of always addressing these situations
- 37:07in the right way.
- 37:09I mostly agree.
- 37:10I thought her statements,
- 37:12most recent statements were
- 37:13a smidge of a backpedal because she did the whole,
- 37:16I'm against hate and divis and this kind of a spiel.
- 37:19Don't like that.
- 37:20I,
- 37:20I think she's been handling it perfectly up until now.
- 37:22But here's the bottom line.
- 37:23She's a young actress,
- 37:24she's having her moment,
- 37:26and she's had multiple films in recent months that have been very,
- 37:28very
- 37:30bad
- 37:30performed badly at the box office.
- 37:32Christie,
- 37:32which is actually a very good film,
- 37:34didn't get her a nomination for a Golden Globe
- 37:35and has made an incredibly small amount of money.
- 37:39So I think she looks at her path right now as being limited.
- 37:42She's in an industry
- 37:43that wants her to do the apology tour,
- 37:45and she doesn't want to do that.
- 37:47So she kind of maybe
- 37:49did it partially.
- 37:50I,
- 37:50I mostly agree with what we're just saying,
- 37:51but I
- 37:52And I also,
- 37:53I think that,
- 37:54and I've said this on social media and I got yelled at quite a bit.
- 37:57I,
- 37:57I think conservatives should have had her back.
- 37:59I think they should have supported her.
- 38:00They should have tried to go,
- 38:01to go,
- 38:01go to her movies
- 38:03and,
- 38:03and,
- 38:04you know,
- 38:04say,
- 38:05hey,
- 38:05listen,
- 38:05you're gonna speak out and or
- 38:07not go that path.
- 38:09We got your back,
- 38:10because the culture matters at this point.
- 38:12And I think that she
- 38:13didn't see that,
- 38:14didn't get that reception.
- 38:15And I think she's just.
- 38:17Hedging her bets just a little bit.
- 38:18Again,
- 38:18not a full apology,
- 38:19not a full backpedal,
- 38:20but
- 38:21you could sit,
- 38:21you can sense that her agent's like,
- 38:22you know,
- 38:23your movies aren't doing well.
- 38:24We need to kind of make sure that you're not alienating people in Hollywood.
- 38:27I think that's what we're seeing here right now.
- 38:29Yeah,
- 38:29it's interesting because I think she did get that
- 38:31conservative,
- 38:32uh,
- 38:33backing when it came to the commercial,
- 38:35right?
- 38:35Like.
- 38:35People were like,
- 38:36she just,
- 38:37this is fine,
- 38:37we like this,
- 38:38this is
- 38:39American stuff,
- 38:40like I,
- 38:40we're glad that she got that stupid question from that
- 38:43one reporter and she just kind of stared at her.
- 38:45I think she got that,
- 38:46but she,
- 38:46I will say like I actually was interested in just seeing the movie,
- 38:49uh,
- 38:50Christy,
- 38:50cos it looked like an interesting story and like
- 38:53seemed to get really good reviews,
- 38:55but that's probably the reason she doesn't get the Golden Globe,
- 38:57right,
- 38:57this jeans commercial that she did that is unrelated to this and.
- 39:00I hate that,
- 39:01you know,
- 39:01she should just be judged on her merits,
- 39:03but you know,
- 39:03it's Hollywood.
- 39:04Um,
- 39:04no,
- 39:04it didn't,
- 39:05didn't help her,
- 39:05that's for sure.
- 39:06Yeah,
- 39:06no,
- 39:07no question.
- 39:07It's true.
- 39:07Before we go,
- 39:08I want to hit your blaze,
- 39:09uh,
- 39:09story.
- 39:10It's up,
- 39:10it's actually on the align,
- 39:11uh,
- 39:12vertical.
- 39:12It's uh,
- 39:13can conservatives reclaim pop culture?
- 39:16You know,
- 39:17give me your theory here.
- 39:18Do you think there's a chance that conservatives could kind of like,
- 39:20you know,
- 39:20maybe make a massive impact here?
- 39:22Do you think it's just like,
- 39:23hey,
- 39:23can we at least get a slice of this pie?
- 39:26What do you,
- 39:26what's your approach here?
- 39:28Uh,
- 39:28I think it's a slice and hopefully be a,
- 39:30a fairly large slice,
- 39:31but what's going on now,
- 39:32you know,
- 39:32the Blaze,
- 39:33the LA Wire,
- 39:34they're,
- 39:34they're producing original content for sure.
- 39:36Some independent creators are doing the same.
- 39:38Angel Studios are making movies that amplify light.
- 39:41And of course you've got all the,
- 39:42uh,
- 39:42people on YouTube who are kind of making
- 39:44content outside of the liberal groupthink system.
- 39:47But then you have Paramount,
- 39:48owned by David Ellison,
- 39:50you've got his dad,
- 39:50Larry,
- 39:51who's a Trump supporter.
- 39:52David doesn't seem
- 39:53Uh,
- 39:53averse to the heartland
- 39:56and seems to be embracing some projects
- 39:59that could be heartland friendly.
- 40:01And I,
- 40:01you know,
- 40:02just having a studio that is not walking in lockstep with the left,
- 40:06that is maybe open to different ideas,
- 40:08is a big deal.
- 40:08Of course,
- 40:09if they could do that hostile takeover
- 40:11and rest
- 40:12Warner Brothers,
- 40:12it's a much bigger deal,
- 40:13but we need a foothold in this culture.
- 40:16And I think this.
- 40:17There's also money to be made,
- 40:18and that matters too.
- 40:18I mean,
- 40:19we've seen a rise of faith-based movies last 1020 years.
- 40:22That's because they're profitable for the most part.
- 40:24So I think you follow the money,
- 40:25you follow
- 40:26a,
- 40:26a,
- 40:26a studio that isn't
- 40:28aghast
- 40:29at the thought of telling stories that appeal to all of America.
- 40:32It's the best we have,
- 40:33and maybe it's the best we've had in quite a while.
- 40:35Yeah,
- 40:36I,
- 40:36I really think there's something to this,
- 40:37and not just in movies,
- 40:38but like this is happening in news as well.
- 40:40I mean,
- 40:40if you look at.
- 40:41A little bit at the Washington Post,
- 40:43a little bit more at CBS News,
- 40:45you know,
- 40:45even more on social media with X.
- 40:47Like
- 40:48there's a change where like
- 40:49some big conservatives
- 40:51have stepped up and said,
- 40:52hey,
- 40:52like let's just go in there and change things a little bit,
- 40:55get it back to halfway normal.
- 40:57That's a really positive uh development,
- 40:59especially if we can see that,
- 41:00not to mention,
- 41:01uh,
- 41:01in,
- 41:02in news,
- 41:02but also in,
- 41:03in Hollywood.
- 41:04Uh,
- 41:04Christian,
- 41:04and
- 41:05the media's gonna resist it too.
- 41:06We'll have to wait and see.
- 41:07Oh yeah,
- 41:07well,
- 41:07you know that's happening.
- 41:08Uh,
- 41:08Christian Toto,
- 41:09film critic,
- 41:09host of Hollywood in Toto,
- 41:11the podcast,
- 41:12uh,
- 41:12don't miss his new piece over at The Blaze.
- 41:13It is conservative,
- 41:15conservatives reclaim Pop Culture,
- 41:17kind of explains this and
- 41:18how they can approach it in all the different ways.
- 41:20Uh,
- 41:20Christian,
- 41:21I really appreciate you coming on and,
- 41:22and thanks so much for coming on the program.
