- 0:00Track Cuss the Galaxy's Most Unpredictable Star Trick Podcast, Where'd you get the pick
- 0:18of that sandwich? Every week? Look at that sandwich. I'm like,
- 0:22that's a good looking sand Google. I just google sandwiches sandwiches. Okay,
- 0:30it does look good. It is a good looking sandwich. Yeah, I
- 0:33would eat it. It is. I'm thinking about ditching the show, which
- 0:35is going to make sandwich almost lunch time for you. Yeah, it is
- 0:41all right. Here's the question. Hot sandwiches or cold sandwiches. Um depends
- 0:45on what's on the sandwich. Okay, So nobody wants a hot peanut butter
- 0:50and jelly. So, although, oh you're wrong, is that a thing?
- 0:55It is a thing. So I've talked before about we do you have
- 0:59to do and free in the house, right right, So because of that,
- 1:02the loaves of bread that I buy, being gluten free are typically come
- 1:04frozen, right, And so it's an eight dollar loaf of bread that's frozen.
- 1:10Okay, Yeah, So I mean the cheapest I can gets eight bucks,
- 1:15that's all rights? Ye that yeah, then twenty exactly yeah, but
- 1:23any rate, um, So because it comes that way, I've gotten very
- 1:27acused used to toasting, the toasting the bread right, and so the bread
- 1:33is always hot and sometimes other things I put in it are hot, and
- 1:37then everything else is like the meat is cold. Um, the cheese I
- 1:40might warm up a little bit with it, and then of course there's cold
- 1:42lettuce and there's cold mayo and all that. But the bread is always warm
- 1:48and hot. And so yes, I do um toasted uh PB and j's
- 1:52the jelly and the is cold, but the peanut butter is warm with the
- 1:56toast. It's it's fantastic. I've had I've had p hey on toast.
- 2:01Yeah, I've head it on toasting bread before. Yeah. Yeah, that's
- 2:04essentially what I'm doing. No, I've heard of people like making basically the
- 2:09way you would make a grilled cheese sandwich in a pan. Amazing, but
- 2:14using uh people that I was getting too. Yeah, okay, that's weird.
- 2:19Yeah, you know what's weird. You're in my spot, that's what's
- 2:23Yeah. I'll move things around that no wrong for me, closer closer,
- 2:34just need to there we go, there we go. There's been a long
- 2:38road, you know, it is what's getting out. Yeah, that's right,
- 2:44that's right. Quizness Nose did not succeed quiznos around here in Kansas City.
- 2:51Here it died, yea death over here to New York as well.
- 2:55They expanded into New York about ten years ago and then uh, they were
- 2:59like, we'll see you. Well, they can't keep up with the chat.
- 3:06They can't keep up with the chata in his spot. Yeah, you're
- 3:10a bottom. You're a bottom, just like Chad Scott's a bottom too.
- 3:17Oh no, go by, he's smiling about it. Oh my, oh
- 3:23bye. We need that soundclip. Someone send me that soundclip. Hot dogs
- 3:30are indeed sandwiches. Indeed, of all the things we have to talk about
- 3:36from this week, this is what we start with. Yeah, well it's
- 3:39food casting. I have I have weird thoughts like this. Sometimes he just
- 3:46brought up hot dogs. Yeah, okay. Sometimes I'll think of things and
- 3:51then I'll say, is there any connection to Star Trek with that item?
- 3:58Has anyone on Star Trek ever been depicted eating a hot dog? Or have
- 4:01we ever seen a hot dog on Star Truck? I don't think we have.
- 4:05No. I would remember that um Cisco asked for hot dogs in one
- 4:12of the Baseball episodes. Or okay, you know what Voyager when they went
- 4:17back in time to nineteen ninety six. I'm pretty sure. I'm pretty sure
- 4:21tuvak in Paris had hot dogs with really what's what's her name? Who?
- 4:26The comedian? Oh, Sarah. That's my favorite, because Tuvakwar is a
- 4:32drag. Yeah, great, dubaka. Yeah. They also broke the universe
- 4:44there. If you look on her desk Sarah Silverman's character, she has a
- 4:50Playmates action figure of the Telosian Keeper from the TS episode The Cage. So
- 4:59how could Star Trek be a show on Star Trek show with merch? Right?
- 5:04Right? So everything after that is meaningless. So that's it. We're
- 5:09not even we're not even doing the show. What are we doing the show
- 5:12for? Then we're done? Yeah? Little did we know everything ended in
- 5:17nineteen ninety six? Amazing? Well, I mean, yeah, we've got
- 5:24a big finale to go over. We've got news, we've got feedback,
- 5:28so we should probably get going. Sure that's true. There's a lens player
- 5:38to make up for. Yeah. Sorry, it's reigning in New York,
- 5:42so no lens there. I'm sure I could. Let's see there's there.
- 5:53Yeah, you can blind everybody watching on YouTube? Thank you? All right,
- 5:59it's Our first news story comes from from screen Rant. This feels like
- 6:02a million years ago, but a section thirty one show was announced on Monday.
- 6:08Remember that? Yeah, I remember that. Yeah, it's not a
- 6:11show, it's a movie. Or is that a movie in a mini Movie's
- 6:14just a movie. It's a TV movie, TV movie. It was just
- 6:16announced on Monday, and screen Rant is asking the big question. I know
- 6:20Chad was asking this question. Got a million ms about this. Will Michael
- 6:25Burnham appear in the section thirty one show? Oh yeah, I wasn't asking
- 6:29that. Yeah. Uh. Basically the answers we don't know. Um,
- 6:34we don't even know what Universe had said in did she go back to the
- 6:38mirror universe? Out of them? Is jerk in our prime universe? Who
- 6:43knows what what time frame it's in, So a lot of questions. Allegedly
- 6:48this is going to start shooting at the end of the year. Wow,
- 6:53yeah, we'll see, I say allegedly, because you know it's right up
- 6:57there with Star Trek four. We'll see if it actually happened. Yeah.
- 7:02Um. Our next news story comes to us from Collider and ed uh Splitzer.
- 7:09The guy who plays Jack Crusher says he to play whatever his name is
- 7:14man, Yeah, Splinter, just call him Splinter, him and the Ninja
- 7:19Turtles. Yeah, we're saying that uh Ed wants to play Jack Crusher for
- 7:25the next fifteen years for sure right now. This is the best thing he's
- 7:30got going for him, probably well he was something better comes along. I
- 7:32mean, he he could wind up being the replacement for those guys and the
- 7:34Kings the Kingsmen, oh yeah, and the trilogy fit that. Or he
- 7:41could be like the next the next heir to the Indie Indiana Jones things,
- 7:46or the next air to whatever Shila Bou was supposed to do before he went
- 7:49nuts, you know. I mean, he could be a bond he could
- 7:53be I'm curious about that last scene, one of those last scenes he talks
- 7:59about names meaning everything. Yeah, and they never referred to him by name,
- 8:05yeah from that point forward. So I'm wondering it's you know, when
- 8:09he signed up for Starfleet, is he Jack Crusher? Is he Jack Piccard
- 8:15or Jack Crusher Piccard? You know what I think is happening. I think
- 8:18a few things is happening at the end of that um, I think they
- 8:22are late in it open to let the Internet decide and then whatever the majority
- 8:28of fans want. Oh I like what happened? Oh weird? Yeah,
- 8:31well he's ex borg now, so he's probably just Jack period, and his
- 8:35pronouns are they that's a real scrush, dude, that's a real stretch to
- 8:41get there. You weren't even trying with that one. So somebody I saw
- 8:46me put it up, but they basically said I would watch Star Trek Waste
- 8:52Extraction if Jerry Ryan was in it. Oh god, yeah, yeah,
- 8:56yeah. All right. So our next new story comes to us from PC
- 9:03magazine, and I've got to share this one. Hopefully it doesn't kill my
- 9:07audio. But this thing is phenomenal. A an ex Apple employee, him
- 9:13and some people have created a startup and they are creating basically real life com
- 9:16badges with the universal translators in them more or less. So let me let
- 9:22me show you this. This he's wearing a little badge. Let's show the
- 9:26video on this. That's the badge, and it is speaking French as he
- 9:33talks. So here, let me go back a little bit. Should feel
- 9:37so natural to use that you almost forget about their existence, and then it
- 9:46goes. It just translates for him, which is pretty neat. And then
- 9:52here's the other thing it can do. So he's given his ted talk and
- 9:56we agree. It gets a phone call and it projects onto his hand so
- 10:01he can answer my wife. I'm gonna have to so m Yeah, it's
- 10:09definitely interesting be available for us if they are working on it right now.
- 10:13Is that what it did. It projected from the combadge onto his hand,
- 10:16into his hand. Yeah, that's a smart way to do it, cheaply.
- 10:20Yeah, you can do those kinds of heads up like that, real
- 10:22cheap. Yeah. I think it's pretty neat. I thought you would like
- 10:24that, Chad, you know, Yeah, yeah, I do. I
- 10:28like that a lot. I hadn't seen never heard that anywhere. That's awesome.
- 10:31Yeah, because I only get the news from you, Daniel, That's
- 10:33right, literally get news seriously, I really any more nowadays. I don't
- 10:39have the time or the Actually, I just just because I don't care.
- 10:41I don't care any of the news other than the news we have here on
- 10:43the show. I'll keep you up today. I'm patting them three. Don't
- 10:46you worry that I don't want to know? And our last news story comes
- 10:52to us from screen ran again and Season one of Strange New Worlds will soon
- 10:58be coming to Pluto TV. So if you have not seen it and you
- 11:01don't have Paramount Plus, it's going to be on Pluto TV for one month
- 11:07in June. Um. The exact date I do not have, but it
- 11:13will be on there for a month for thirty days the full season. So
- 11:16if you have not watched it yet or you aren't paying for Paramount right now
- 11:20and you want to see it before it starts back up again, it'll be
- 11:22on there in June, and you can smart move. That's a very smart
- 11:26move. Yeah, it's a smart move. So you're right, Eric,
- 11:28it's going to become harder and harder to ignore the White's calls and text because
- 11:31at some point this thing will be embedded in your head. That's right,
- 11:35That's right. And I love and I love Eric's avatar by the way,
- 11:37Yeah exactly, Yeah, yeah. What was his what was his line?
- 11:43He's got a cup of coffee in his hand, you yeah, I mean,
- 11:48I guess. The other quick news story is apparently we're going to be
- 11:52getting a Galaxy Quest TV show that was also announced this week. If you
- 11:54remember that, I remember, yeah, yeah, that was crazy. That
- 11:58was that was announced. I remember that was announced around the same time as
- 12:03The Orville, because I remember talking talking about these two things competing with each
- 12:09other, both being oh yeah, you know Star Trek parodies. Right,
- 12:16So it's interesting that they're Paramounts doing it, right because back when Dan was
- 12:22talking about it, when that time period it was on Amazon, correct,
- 12:26it wasn't part of it was it was going to be a different platform.
- 12:28So it's just kind of I don't know, that's interesting. Hey, did
- 12:35the rights migrate in one of these acquisitions? Not that I can read.
- 12:41I think, well, no, I haven't read that the rights migrated.
- 12:46But there is a thing where one streamer will make the show to sell to
- 12:50another streamer, right, It's like White Paramount makes Yellowstone, but it's on
- 12:56Peacock. Yeah, it's ridiculous. So it's kind of that deal. Is
- 13:00my is my guests? Yeah? Yeah, I don't know. Yeah,
- 13:05no word yet if any of the original Castle will be on this new Galaxy
- 13:09Question show. They're going to completely reboot it. Who knows, Well,
- 13:13they probably can't get They probably can't get Guy Um or Tim Allen he or
- 13:18we Yeah, because he's he's blown up a little bit. That'd be too
- 13:20expensive. He hasn't done too much since then, Sam Rockwell, yeah,
- 13:26for a television show, they probably wouldn't. They probably get Tim Allen for
- 13:28a television show. Yeah, but maybe for like a couple of episodes.
- 13:31I don't know if Yeah, yeah, I'm not gonna get much money.
- 13:37Like it's whether or not he wants to do it. It's not the paycheck.
- 13:41True. Yeah, I think with most of those that's probably a matter
- 13:43of do we want to have some fun with it or not? And how
- 13:45much time does that take? Right? Right? Yeah, that's that's true.
- 13:48That's that's fair enough. So I could see it just being a reboot
- 13:52and let's go by the way. I love this sound of rain in the
- 13:56background. We should do that every every week. It's it's so soothing.
- 13:58You guys can barely but I can. Yeah, it's lovely. I don't
- 14:03think an even the listeners might be able to hear. That's why I'm getting
- 14:05sleepy. It's the rain sounds. Yeah, it's it's really nice. It's
- 14:07really yeah, it's really really soothing. Yeah. Meditations with Chad, Welcome
- 14:11to Sunday Morning and now the Downward Dog. Yes, when did this become
- 14:20NPR? The soothing sounds of the macaw and the rainforest. Now my wife's
- 14:31like, what the is he? What is he yelling about? Now?
- 14:35Yeah, yeah, Scot's right. Rain Wilson would do would Yeah, he
- 14:41would do any of it. Yeah, he needs to come back as Harry
- 14:45Mud. I mean he wants to do. I was listening to a podcast
- 14:48in Rain Wilson happened to be on it. It's for a completely different topic,
- 14:52but he mentioned that he would love to come back. So ye,
- 14:54yeah start hot. Star Trek is hot. It's so hot right now.
- 15:01Yeah, it's about as hot as the spacexbfar blown up. Yes, Oh
- 15:07wow, you went there. I went there. It was Hey, it
- 15:13was a good it was a good run. We should talk about that.
- 15:15If that's not part of your news story, we should talk about that real
- 15:16quick. Yeah, because that's a big deal. And and so I'll give
- 15:20you the I'll give you the quick overview and then shut up. Um,
- 15:24but it is a big deal. And so SpaceX. The way they develop
- 15:26rockets is a little late on that. Yeah, deep thought. The way
- 15:31they develop rockets is they come up with a design, they start to build
- 15:35it, and when they get ready to when they know they're gonna have some
- 15:37sort of timeline for launching it. They're already building a second rocket, and
- 15:41a third rocket and a fourth rocket. They do not wait to build the
- 15:43next rocket until they get data back from the first one. That's not how
- 15:48they do it. So they already have um rocket number two and three in
- 15:52production. Rocket number two will launch within two to three months. Rocket number
- 15:56three will launch within two to three months after that. They were waiting to
- 16:00start rocket number four until they got these test results, and they are extremely
- 16:04excited excited about what they got. So what they expected was was a fifty
- 16:10fifty shot that this thing would blow up on the pad and they'd still get
- 16:12dated from that. To keep in mind, this thing has thirty two rockets
- 16:15or something like that, individual rockets that make up the bulk of this thing.
- 16:19Each one of those rockets were built at a different time, with different
- 16:22tolerances, with different sizes. They're not the same. It's not the exact
- 16:26same thirty two rockets mass produced. It's not like the Falcon right. And
- 16:30so they knew, Yeah, rapid, unscheduled disassembly, that's all it was.
- 16:34Yeah, So all that being said, they were they were excited that
- 16:40it just got off the launch pad. That right, there was a success
- 16:42to them. Instead, what they got was four and a half minutes of
- 16:45flight time and it went past the max que point. For those of you
- 16:49who don't know, the max que point is the point at which in the
- 16:53rockets travel it reaches the maximum amount of stress, pressure and fatigue on the
- 17:00structure before gravity. The max cube point is when John de Lancy can't see
- 17:03it anymore. That's true. Yeah, when when very good point, very
- 17:08good point, He's like, I don't see it anymore. We're done,
- 17:11We're done. It's yeah, yeah, anyway, uh, it did,
- 17:22it did, but it made it past that point. That's huge. They
- 17:25didn't expect that at all. They didn't expect it at all. Now here's
- 17:27why. Here, here's why it should matter to everybody in terms of us
- 17:30and getting to the point where we're living a star trek kind of life.
- 17:36Sorry Dan. A Falcon rocket right now can launch seventeen metric tons per payload
- 17:42at a cost of fifty million to okay, the new rocket can launch one
- 17:49hundred metric tons, Like what is that? Eight times that? Seven times
- 17:56the amount for two million per metric time. This is permitt ton costs per
- 18:00metric ton. Right, so your amount that you can take goes up exponentially,
- 18:06a huge amount, and the cost goes way down. In fact,
- 18:07there's enough room in one rocket they could literally put the entire iss inside the
- 18:11thing and launch it in one shot. So two to three months we'll see
- 18:15another one. I'm done. Okay, all right, it's cool stuff.
- 18:19It's cool stuff. Cool, it's it's just rocket signs. Yeah, there
- 18:23you go. It's the future. It is the future. All right,
- 18:27let's stretchaw, it's the future, Wesley, all right, main topic?
- 18:37Fine, well now, main topic only talking about that. Nothing happens.
- 18:48Nothing happened. Man, a good seeing everybody. Yeah, we're done.
- 18:53No, it's the last Generation. That's the final name of the episode,
- 18:56which kind of sucked that it's called the last Generation. I didn't quite understand
- 19:00that title. But anyway, um, the last generation to be unassembled.
- 19:03I don't know. Uh No, it's not it's not the last as in
- 19:07there are no more. It's it's the other meaning of last, like previous.
- 19:15Yeah, Chaz, why do we need to talk about space? Oh?
- 19:17Kujo, you're right, put that back up. If they don't play
- 19:19faith of the Heart with a successful launch, in orbit. They screwed up.
- 19:22You're damned straight, buddy, you are damned straight. That's right.
- 19:26So no one elong he probably would elon knowing elon you probably anyway. You
- 19:37know what's the funniest part about that, Daniel correcting someone for pronouncing something that's
- 19:41right. See. You know who else does that? Jonathan Franks? Yeah,
- 19:48that guy from Star Trek. He's my favorite Star Trek uh storm trooper.
- 19:56There you go. Is he part of the Victorian Guard? Yes,
- 19:59I believe Yeah, he's one of the Sailor moons. Yeah yeah. Uh
- 20:07anyway, okay, so this was the finale. Um, we got so
- 20:12many things that we wanted. Uh. They they really wrapped up this plot
- 20:18from the whole season pretty fast. And actually he Long is moren name?
- 20:25Yeah you meant born name? Yeah Long this is porn name. Guarantee,
- 20:34there's somebody with that name. We can't get on track. I tell you
- 20:37what, just a bag of cats on this show. We made a list,
- 20:41by the way, ladies and gentlemen, we made a list of top
- 20:44Star Trek podcasts, and we were in the top twenty and I think we
- 20:48were ranked like the fifteenth or something. But the description of the show was
- 20:52what had me rolling, and it was something like, um, these are
- 20:56three guys that this isn't like any other podcast you've ever listen. And two,
- 21:00honestly, there's just three guys who just talk about Trek sometimes and that's
- 21:03kind of what holds it together. And then they just talk. It's hilarious.
- 21:06You really need to listen to it, Like that's that's the description of
- 21:08the show. Yeah, didn't they take that from our website? Though?
- 21:11No, it's not. No, no, they described it. Yeah,
- 21:15they described it pretty well. It wasn't from our website. Somebody listened to
- 21:18the show. But what's funny is like most pop culture cut podcasts are more
- 21:22like us than most Star Trek podcasts. Yea. Most Star Trek podcasts are
- 21:27like very structured, and yeah we're not. Most Star Trek podcasts are like,
- 21:33okay, so when he went up there, why didn't that connect to
- 21:37the other? Like Tube one is not next to Tube four? Like they've
- 21:40messed it's so illogical. I just had to open the chamatic from nineteen seventy
- 21:48four. It's right there. Okay, can we can we get back to
- 21:52the episode. Oh yeah, so there was a show anyways, So the
- 22:02Gard and the Olds. They're They're like, we're gonna go fight this cube.
- 22:06We've had it. I've had it with these borgs on my starship.
- 22:11Now now I'm my planet. You know. It's it's really interesting though,
- 22:15because there's so many things they built up for this whole seat. Ye,
- 22:19you're right, fifty fifty split between bullshit and trek um. They really built
- 22:27up what's behind the Red Door to be some big bad thing. They really
- 22:33built and once they revealed it, it was a borg that was a really
- 22:34built up things in Holy shit, because of all everybody, they assimilate the
- 22:38entire fleet, and they really built up the threat of the changelings as well,
- 22:44only to come to find out it's a shell game. It was a
- 22:47shell game. The Borg Queen has literally been eating herself alive for who knows
- 22:52how long in that cube, try to sustain herself to get to where she
- 22:56can do some more assimilation. Yeah. Is that the same cue from the
- 23:00Voyager finale? Yes, We're that's that's what Terry Mattellis alluded to on the
- 23:07Will Wheaton Show before I Suffer for the People. So the Red Door.
- 23:14The first time Picard saw the Board Queen was in First Contact and the doors
- 23:22on the Enterprise were red. Is that? I mean, it was obviously
- 23:27a different style door, but is that what they're referencing. Is that why
- 23:30it's a red door. I have not seen it anywhere made that. I
- 23:37have not seen an explanation on the red doors period. I think you're just
- 23:41like saying red things, red angel, red door, red herring lady,
- 23:45red lady angel. Yeah, I had the red lady, right, So,
- 23:48I mean yeah, so yeah, I think it's like the red red
- 23:55alert m red shirts, red shirts must it's just red. It's just like
- 24:02it's just like forty two and twenty one, I mean, was right they
- 24:04like the color red? Yep? Yeah, Um dude, this was Star
- 24:10Wars. This was Star Wars. In Star Trek they had doing that to
- 24:14me. I don't get that. Okay, So in Star Wars, right,
- 24:18Luke has to go confront the Emperor because he's gonna save his dad Vader,
- 24:23right, Yeah, and then what do you have here, Um,
- 24:27Picard is gonna go say confront the emperor, I mean board queen to save
- 24:32his son or father however you want to put it, because he's been turned
- 24:36to the dark side. Yeah, and he goes Son, I know they're
- 24:38still good in you. I'm gonna pull you out of it. Vader,
- 24:41I know they're still good in you. I'm gonna pull you out of it.
- 24:45And literally inside the board cube. Yeah yeah, let's just blow this
- 24:52chip jewey and let's go home. Yeah. So, I mean it was
- 24:59Star Wars. It was great. Yeah, so I read that as land
- 25:06It was interesting. Okay, So we saw we saw the Enterprise D for
- 25:12seven years plus um, between seven seasons of TNG and then Generations, and
- 25:22all of those were model model shots, yeah, okay, which you can
- 25:26basically shoot it from three sides at a time because it's suspended by a stick
- 25:33holding it on the fourth side. And this Enterprise D was obviously not a
- 25:41model. This was a CGI model. So it was amazing, um,
- 25:47just seeing the ship do things that it couldn't do in the late eighties and
- 25:52the early nineties because of the limitations of special effects. So, I mean,
- 26:00it was the Enterprise D, but they were flying it like it was
- 26:03the Millennium Falcon. It was, and it was nice to see that because
- 26:08you know, when I was a kid and I had an Enterprise D,
- 26:12I was flying it like the Millennium Falcon. I wasn't just you know,
- 26:18they were screen giving a captain's log. They weren't flying it like them and
- 26:22liveing Falcon. They were hugging the donkey. Oh yeah, yeah in the
- 26:27end when they you know, when they when they kind of fish Dale in
- 26:32there and swing the ass end of the Enterprise down to to up. I
- 26:36mean I never saw that. I guessed that the series and that was lost.
- 26:40And did you did you see who was driving when all that happened,
- 26:44Yes, it was and now again Deanna. It was Deanna. She said
- 26:48I know where they are, and she ran over and took the con and
- 26:52started driving like a Yeah, I've been playing with my d thirty eight years.
- 27:02We're doing that again. Put that one backup too. By the way,
- 27:04Tie is right. I said last week we were not going to get
- 27:07them sitting around playing poker at the end of it. And where did we
- 27:11get We got them all sitting around. Oh I was wrong again. Not
- 27:14only that, I'm the Will Wheaton show. They've mentioned that that scene where
- 27:18they're playing poker was literally a forty five minute scene. They were all just
- 27:22sitting there, just going and Terry mcgell's just they've got it all on tape,
- 27:26all of it ye minutes and he's like, maybe someday we'll release it
- 27:30on a special Blu ray or something. But yeah, well, I mean,
- 27:33if you want to get natural reactions of seven friends sitting around, um,
- 27:38let them sit around for forty five minutes, and that's exactly what you'll
- 27:41get. Yeah, yeah, yeah, So, um. The other thing
- 27:48I just thought about that made it more Star Wars is h date. So
- 27:53Jordi says, we can't fly through that thing. It's too complicated, it's
- 27:56impossible. The computer can't handle that. Yeah, I got I'm gonna do
- 28:03this. I got a gun now. But it was interesting. But it
- 28:07was interesting, you know, hearing him say that and also hearing his his
- 28:15his frustration that no one's willing to trust his gut because you're not you don't
- 28:18have a gun. What are you talking about? Way man, you can't
- 28:22do this right, So it was it was good seeing him definitely. Yeah.
- 28:29And Jordian, uh, Jordian command I like that. Um. It
- 28:34also flipped the script a little bit because on the show, when when Ryker
- 28:38and Picard were off the ship, it was data. Yeah, it was
- 28:41a second officer, so he was in command, except that Data is uncommissioned
- 28:47at this point, and Jordi is a commissioned officer with the rank of commodore.
- 28:53So yeah, he's in he's in command, and he's and he's damn
- 28:57good at it from what we saw. So that was nice. Why didn't
- 29:02they trust data because he doesn't have a gut? Because it made for a
- 29:07good line. Yeah, Well, because it showed his character development that he
- 29:11said, I trust me at it, I feel in him my gut,
- 29:12and they and they took a leap of faith on him. So because in
- 29:17a lot of ways, he's not the data they know, he's mixture of
- 29:21data and before and lore and so like, yeah, he's got a lot
- 29:23of the traits that they remember and memories. But yeah, exactly, if
- 29:29you yeah, if you go back, I'm sorry if you go back to
- 29:32what was it? Which one was this where he gets the emotion chip for
- 29:36the first time and he's losing his mind and he can't do anything and he's
- 29:38with Jordy, remember, so I forget which movie that was Generations? Was
- 29:45it Generations? Yeah? It was Generations? Yeah, So I mean he
- 29:48can't do anything against what's his name spiky hair, Malcolm whatever. Oh yeah,
- 29:56yeah, Malcolm Gladwell, Malcolm Gladwell. Yeah, I can't think of
- 29:59his name. Is out any McDowell. Yeah, he can't do anything against
- 30:03any mcdwell. He's totally he's really scared. Annie mcdel rules the universe.
- 30:08We all know that. It was also interesting, you know, he's going
- 30:11through these these emotions and he's feeling things in his gut and he expressed hate
- 30:21for an entire race of people. That's significant. Yeah, that's significant.
- 30:30And Troy could feel his because his emotions too, yeah, which is interesting.
- 30:36Yeah, I'm not sure I get that because he's no, he's synthetic,
- 30:40just like Picard is. So I'm not really sure how you get.
- 30:42But I don't know. I guess if you think about it from the standpoint
- 30:48of if telepaths can read your mind, and obviously your body's putting off some
- 30:52sort of wavelengths, right, and so it's just a matter of transmission and
- 30:55receiving, just like the Bords transmission and receiving. So I mean even a
- 30:59synthetic, if it's done right, could do the same thing. So whatever,
- 31:03let's see it is what it is. So well, and they did
- 31:06say before with the card that the synth robot body is almost indistinguishably different from
- 31:12the human body. So yeah, it's just a sleeve. At this point,
- 31:17we're watching the future of altered carbon. I mean yeah, so um
- 31:23so um Warfs into threesomes, Yes, very much so. The lines from
- 31:32Warf and Riker this whole season, man, this whole season are just fantastic.
- 31:37I laughed so hard. But my favorite did he had a gun in
- 31:41his sword, and swords are fun. Swords are fun. You know.
- 31:48It also showed us exactly how strong yeah that when Riker grabbed the sword,
- 31:52he's like Jesus Christ didn't realize what was happy now you could even pick it
- 31:56up. Yeah. So he's older too though, right, and so Cleon's
- 31:59agel different. They're already stronger than age a little different. So yeah,
- 32:01it's but but yes, it's uh it's kind of like the dark Saber,
- 32:06right, so uh, Mando can't pick it up, but Bokaton can right
- 32:15when record drops the sort Yeah that's pretty great. Um yeah, that was
- 32:21fun. I like that. There was like four or five different endings and
- 32:28it didn't it kept going and just kept going like Rord of the ring style.
- 32:30Yeah, yeah, but I was I loved it though, I loved
- 32:35every minute of it. I was fine with that. Um so what do
- 32:37you think about them? Just? Well, it was weird because when they
- 32:40put the D, the Enterprise D back in a cold storage or whatever you
- 32:47want to call it, yea, when they shut it down, that was
- 32:51after the one year jump. Yeah, so what was it doing for a
- 32:54year? I don't know. This one or jump is odd to me.
- 33:00Yeah, it's very odd. And I also noticed that, um, we
- 33:06absolutely did not get to see Laris again. Yeah even even Yeah, she's
- 33:14just sitting by the pool waiting like, no, he's coming, he's coming,
- 33:17he's setting it here. Yeah. Well, um, I think your
- 33:22answer for what was the D doing for a year will be shimply answered in
- 33:25comic book and long form Marvel form. That's that's what's gonna happen. It's
- 33:35a multimedia experience. Yeah, it's your book. There's your book, there's
- 33:38a comic book, and there's your video game. And if you get all
- 33:43three, you get the whole story. And don't don't forget for mobile games.
- 33:49The mobile game for happened. Yeah, Laris who exactly exactly exactly She's
- 33:58gonna be the villain for US season four if they do it, She's gonna
- 34:00be like the bittered, angry lad got left. That's what will be the
- 34:06entire season actually, which would be hilarious. I would watch the whole season.
- 34:08If Laris comes after Picard, Vosh comes after Piccard crushers chasing him down
- 34:15because he left again. I mean, she's going after Jack because if she
- 34:19can't have a Picard, nobody can have a Pcard. Yeah, why is
- 34:25Lars? Who? Larius? Where Larius? Why Laris? Yeah, nothing
- 34:34goes over my head exactly, jump up and catch it. Yeah, hey,
- 34:39Larris, I'm sorry, dicks along. By the way, I have
- 34:42a kid. Well you haven't gone for nine months, piccarda, but he's
- 34:47twenty six. Yeah uh yeah, Oh go ahead. Now she's just gonna
- 34:59say. The scene in the Shuttlecraft that one year later was it was verily
- 35:04It was very hey, we're a happy family now. Yeah, yeah,
- 35:07it really was. Without saying it, it was very we're a happy family
- 35:10now, and without doing something with that Laris um storyline, it was kind
- 35:19of awkward. You know, it is it is the future. Perhaps it's
- 35:24an open marriage. Oh boy, just say Um, what do we think
- 35:30about the Titan being renamed they called the Enterprise G or whatever was un I
- 35:40don't know. Yeah, not a fan of that, honestly, Yeah,
- 35:45really not a fan of it either would have been I would have been a
- 35:49bigger fan of Um. Then talking about how the fleet is decimated because of
- 35:59this, and because of that, the D is going to stay in service
- 36:04for the time being that the G will come later, but in the meantime,
- 36:10the D is back in service. And Yeah, whether it's seven that
- 36:15gets it or a Riker that that's what I would have liked to see Captain
- 36:20Riker on the Enterprise D, because really that's what he wanted all along.
- 36:24Yeah, people are saying that they should have been renamed the Piccard or Piccard
- 36:30the USS Piccard. Well, I guess my maybe, but if it was
- 36:36going to be named after him, it should be the USS John Luke Picard,
- 36:39right. So, But UM, my thing with it is is if
- 36:44it's a year later, have they not built any other ships and the Enterprise
- 36:51of that time that we saw on DOC with Admiral what's her name on board?
- 36:55Uh? Did it? Was? It destroyed? It obviously was destroyed.
- 37:00Um. Otherwise they couldn't rename the tightened to the Yeah, us Shaw,
- 37:04that would have been good too. Um, we got to talk about
- 37:07that. Well, I guess we already talked about that because he died before.
- 37:09But anyway, Um, he showed up as a forest ghost. I
- 37:13mean, uh, but um no, I don't understand, like, how
- 37:22many ships were blown up? Is the fleet really decimated? How many ships
- 37:27were blown up in that fight? They didn't. They didn't say that I'm
- 37:30saying. I'm saying I would have preferred that they, you know, say
- 37:37that that happened. The fleet was decimated. We have such a shortage of
- 37:40ships. Um, the Enterprise was destroyed, the Enterprise f was destroyed.
- 37:46We're putting We're putting the d back in service, We're putting Voyager back in
- 37:51service. We're putting the Defiant back in service, and you know, not
- 37:57forever while they rebuild the fleet. You know, these these these oldies have
- 38:01to come out of off balls. Well I can understand that from right at
- 38:06the end of the whole thing. But a year later, you would think
- 38:07they'd have ships rebuilt. It's a year. Yeah, I don't know why
- 38:10they did the year jump. The year jump is strange. It makes sense.
- 38:15It didn't need it all. Yeah, the only the only thing about
- 38:19the year jump that makes any sense at all is setting up Jack for another
- 38:24series. That is it. There's no other purpose for it, and it's
- 38:29weird and it's odd, and it's only gonna look okay in retrospect looking back
- 38:34if they use him for legacy or whatever they come up with. Yeah,
- 38:39then it makes sense. And then that ending scene also makes sense with they
- 38:45could have very easily without doing the jump. They could have very easily done
- 38:52a very short jump showing him beginning at Starfleet Academy. Yeah, and then
- 38:58if they do another show, you know, it's gonna be two or three
- 39:02years until that show comes out, and they could you know, he could
- 39:07have graduated by that point and be an ends. And they it was kind
- 39:10of weird that they're just like, oh, we accelerated as his stuff and
- 39:14he's an ens and now even though it's only a year, well, not
- 39:16only that, he's sitting right next to the damn captain m hm. Yeah,
- 39:22Specials did not attend start exactly, and a year ago we saw her
- 39:27and she was a federous ranger, but now she's the first officer on a
- 39:31Federation starship. So I mean there are some unanswered questions. Now she's and
- 39:37now she's Captain of the Enterprise and captain of the Enterprise. Yeah, yeah,
- 39:43the flagship. That's what I'm saying. If they had if they had
- 39:46done the whole Hey, the fleet is decimated. We need to bring some
- 39:50of these old ships out of mothballs. She could have been the captain of
- 39:53Voyager, which is the ship that she was. Yeah, googly googly.
- 40:00I'd over four episodes, right, So don't get me wrong. I love
- 40:05I love this show. I love this season. I love the showy finale.
- 40:08I'm you know, there were some other decisions they could have made that
- 40:13I that I would have liked. But um, I think you said to
- 40:16you guys in our private chat that this is the first time in years that
- 40:20I'm legitimately excited about. Yeah, Star Trek. One really weird nitpick I
- 40:27had is when they were shutting down the Enterprise d it was Jordy who said
- 40:31initiate shutdown sequence and not piccard. I felt like piccard should have been the
- 40:37way to say that. Well, it's and I get it because it's Geordie's
- 40:40running the museum. Yeah, yeah, yeah, but yeah, I bet
- 40:46they went back and forth on that. I'm sure so with Voyager. Teaber
- 40:51Coom said Harry was a captain of the Voyager. Oh yeah, a little
- 40:53bit of there's a little bit of information that was dropped after what yesterday or
- 40:59the day before, Yeah, something like that. That there was some stuff
- 41:01in the finale that they either filmed or had written but then cut, as
- 41:07in a scene with Jane Way, a scene with Harry Kim that was filmed.
- 41:14Where's this article at? I think it was written, but then they
- 41:15did not, not not including it, but yeah, it was. They
- 41:19were planning on having at least Janeway, Harry Kim and one other member of
- 41:22Voyager back. How about how about that voice in the beginning check off?
- 41:28Yes, yes, Van talking about that Anton check off, the president Anton
- 41:36check off. I thought that was I thought that was beautiful. I almost
- 41:38forgot to mention that, thank you, that that was beautiful. Yeah,
- 41:40that was really well done. Yep. I had to back up and listen
- 41:44to it again. I was like, whoa hold on? And I backed
- 41:46up to watch and listen that again. That's got to be check off,
- 41:49It isn't. It's amazing. Yeah, exactly, Tiber they cut it.
- 41:53It's crazy. Yeah, I don't know, saving it for the leg act.
- 42:00I I see Harry, Harry is screwed again, Yeah exactly. I
- 42:04mean that's only it's only right that Harry gets screwed again and not physically screwed
- 42:09like because right, he doesn't get laid either. Yes, it was antony.
- 42:14Yeah, that's where they got the anton of it. Yep, yep,
- 42:16exactly. Yeah. Yeah, that was great, man, it was
- 42:19it was fantastic. Oh yeah, that's right. In that article they said,
- 42:22um in that article they said Rowe was supposed to still make it at
- 42:24the end too. How I don't know, but that's how that In that
- 42:28article, if you read it, the ending had um Roe, Larin,
- 42:31Harry, Kim, and uh Janguys showing up somehow. U. So maybe
- 42:37they're all forced ghosts maybe Yeah. Yeah, that's that's how Harry is a
- 42:45captain in in in his Dreams and the bed in the Mirror universe. Yeah
- 42:49yeah, yep, yep, yeah. Man. Uh, I'm amazed they
- 42:54have not announced legacy yet, Like, what the hell are they thinking?
- 43:01Well, they announced academy and so now they're like, ah, crap,
- 43:06I really hope that they're they're sitting down right now, reevaluating, reevaluating.
- 43:13Yeah, because Legacy is a show that everyone wants to see. Yeah,
- 43:20Um, nobody wants the Academy. Nobody wants to see Academy specifically because of
- 43:28what they've said about it so far. Everybody would want to see Academy if
- 43:31they did one thing change the time period Academy starts the moment this season finale
- 43:39ended and we see Jack Crusher in the Academy. M I don't even think
- 43:46you need to do that. You don't have to have Jack Crusher. I
- 43:51think I think it's just the time period. It is time period that people
- 43:54want to see. You don't want to see that other time period. Nope.
- 43:59So and I think they need to sit down, look at the numbers,
- 44:04look at how they hit it out of the park, and basically let
- 44:10Terry Mattalis write his own check. Yes, that's what they need to do
- 44:16this. If this season proved anything to anybody in paramount, what it should
- 44:22have proved was we had a vision at the beginning of all of this with
- 44:27Kurtzman and Kurtsman, had a vision of how to expand this into a broader
- 44:30universe, a lot of different shows coming from different angles. That vision's dead.
- 44:37Yeah, sorry, if you work out that vision's dead, it didn't
- 44:42work out. The vision we have right now with what this season did,
- 44:46and in this timeline, this is what we need to use and branch out
- 44:52and make a universe around everything going on in this timeline period end of story.
- 44:59That is, everything needs to happen at where this one just left off,
- 45:04whether it's Legacy going in one direction but in the same timeline, whether
- 45:07it's UH Academy, whatever there. I don't know why they think they need
- 45:12to do section thirty one still, Um. The only thing that would make
- 45:16section thirty one interesting to me is, well, two things would make it
- 45:20interesting. Number One, she goes back in time, but she's in the
- 45:22mirror universe and tries desperately to get back to the prime for some reason.
- 45:27I don't know. Maybe that's kind of interesting, not really. Yes,
- 45:29there are disco fans, I know, um, and there are a lot
- 45:32of disco fans, let's not get ourselves here. There are a lot,
- 45:36right, and so I'm sure those fans will will want to see that.
- 45:39But the oh sure would be interesting is if if if when she comes back
- 45:44in time. Um, she comes back to this right here, right now
- 45:51and becomes and becomes the lead up to Late Like see, they could they
- 45:54could rethink this right now and say, okay, here's what we do.
- 45:58We get the disco fans and they put in the New Picard and strange New
- 46:00World fans right and we could put them together by making the set Michelle Yo
- 46:06when she goes back in time, she doesn't go back and she goes back
- 46:07in time, but she goes to this time right now and she's in the
- 46:10movie. Sets up her screwing around with Q or as Q or whatever.
- 46:16Yeah, um, screwing around with Jack Crusher on the Titan, on the
- 46:20Enterprise, whatever, and that sets up Legacy the show. That would be
- 46:24faniastic that it's an idea. My thought is it's interesting that both Star Wars
- 46:30and Star Trek have had this interesting thing where they tried to go a different
- 46:35direction. Clearly the fans didn't want it, and now they're backtracking and trying
- 46:39to fix it. Right. You had the same thing with the Mandalorian and
- 46:43everything else. That's that's the timeline people wanted. That's the type the you
- 46:47know, the era of Star Trek or Star Wars people wanted and now you
- 46:52have the same thing with with Star Trek, right, we want to see
- 46:54this timeline. So what's funny too, is like it's a essentially the same
- 47:00producer group, right, it's that whole Bad Robot crew. I know it's
- 47:04not jj Abrams huh. I know that's a bad Robot, but it's not
- 47:09like you said, rad Robot, No bad Robot. It's j J Abrams
- 47:14and his people, like his his guys that that all kind of worked on
- 47:16it. So it's those same people. But I mean, they have to
- 47:21keep learning their lesson. It's the same lesson. It's so sad. But
- 47:23they're not learning because they're just announced last week they're doing they're doing another uh
- 47:29Daisy Ridley Star Wars right, right? What so they don't listen? Yeah,
- 47:35yeah, I didn't see that. I missed that. Dan didn't tell
- 47:37me about it, so I Daniel didn't tell me about it. Well,
- 47:39it's not Star Trek News, it's Star Wars News. Oh that's why I
- 47:42didn't know. Yeah, yeah, I forgot which podcast I was on.
- 47:45That's right. I know they alluded to Janeway so much. I don't understand
- 47:52why I thought that was a slam dunk to thrower in there. No,
- 47:55I can't. I just seen at the end with Tuvak. That should have
- 48:00been Janeway. That's exactly where she. That should have been y yeah,
- 48:04or it should have been Tuva and Jane Way. Yeah. I was fine
- 48:07with it being Tuvak in light of was not knowing if he was dead or
- 48:09alive. I was. I was happy to see him and then he's alive.
- 48:13Um, well, it was just awesome. Wars not dead jazz biz.
- 48:16Oh my gosh, the fans are wrong. It was awkward that it
- 48:21was Tuvak because he is not in her chain of command. Yeah, he
- 48:25is, you know, captain of a different ship. So why is you
- 48:30know, why is she reporting to him about this stuff? Why is he
- 48:36evaluating her crew? Why is he looking at her crew evaluation? It just
- 48:39it kind of didn't make sense. But if Jane Way he was doing it,
- 48:44yeah, and Tuvak was there, because you know, they were all
- 48:46in the family, it would have made sense. Yeah. Was he promoted?
- 48:52Was he an admiral at that point or what he was just a captain?
- 48:55He was still a captain. Interesting. I didn't pick up on that
- 48:58that is kind of odd that one captain to a suppose another um our second
- 49:02officer. Man, I don't, I don't know. Are there captain's like
- 49:06middle management in sturfleet? Is that what I'm understanding? The store manager of
- 49:12a target basically, well, they're a franchise own. They're a franchise owner.
- 49:15Okay. Captain is both a rank and a position. Okay, okay,
- 49:20if you're the captain of a ship, it doesn't matter what your rank
- 49:22is. You could be a commander, but this is your ship, so
- 49:25they addressed him as captain. Captain is also a rank. It's four pips,
- 49:30so you can be a you can hold the rank of captain. But
- 49:36I'm a security officer, so I'm I don't have a ship under my command,
- 49:40but I hold the rank of captain. Or like um Scottie was captain
- 49:45of engineering, he had the rank of captain, but he was the chief
- 49:47engineer right ship. So you know, I suppose you could have tuvakas a
- 49:57captain and he works directly underneath this admiral doing administrative stuff. But they already
- 50:02established that. Now he's the captain of this this other ship which I don't
- 50:09know which ship it was. The funkiest ship of them all. Yeah,
- 50:20no, I mean really, the I mean Starfleet is um is Walmart and
- 50:22the well it is it's the home store there in in Arkansas, and all
- 50:28the individual captains are the franchise are the not franchise's but the store actual store
- 50:32locations out and scattered all over the place, the actual Walmart's right, So
- 50:36the captains are the store managers of that store, and they of course have
- 50:38regional managers, which are the admirals. Like the idea, these are all
- 50:43just Walmart's just flying and they're trying people. Well yeah, because they're trying
- 50:45to spread out and and get everybody's part of Starfleet and shut down all the
- 50:50small stores and everything else. You have to assimilate into Starfleet. What department
- 50:53is the self checkout? Is that the replicators? Yes? So is Tubac
- 50:58assistant regional manager or is he assistant to the regional manager. He's the assistant
- 51:05regional manager to the assistant manager of the regional director. Was not on the
- 51:09excels here? Yeah? He was not correct? Yeah, assignment there has
- 51:15assignment is complete? Is Amazon the board correct? Yes? They have a
- 51:20great supply chain, just like the transwarp conduits. Yeah exactly. I mean
- 51:23it's just this is what it is. Does that make the Klingon's like Auto
- 51:28Zone or NAPA, I don't know, completely different. Actually we could,
- 51:34we could put everybody in context of franchise ease of coffee shops. Right,
- 51:38you've got Dutch Bros. You've got Starbucks, you've got Um Scooters, you've
- 51:45got completely the board exactly. Yeah, yeah, Starbucks is the board.
- 51:53Dutch Bros. Would be star Fleet because they're all inclusive. Which one is
- 51:57Dunkin Donuts? You don't even heard Dutch Bros. It's over here. It's
- 52:01it's pretty good. Yeah, Duncan Dutch Bros. Is you take the coffee,
- 52:07you get the sweet types of coffee. You would get a Caribou,
- 52:10only it's twice the price, um for less coffee. And everybody, are
- 52:15you guys familiar with Tim Wharton's Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, they're
- 52:19they're big in Canada. Um not around. Yeah, my wife bought some
- 52:23cake cups, some Tim mohartons cake cups on it, okay, and holy
- 52:28shit, is it the best coffee I've ever had? Really, it's good.
- 52:30It's amazing. Yeah, it's amazing. All right, So cheers tar
- 52:36Canadian friends, Joyce joy some Timmis today, think Timmy, should we get
- 52:45to feedback? Yes we should. I'm plugging in the Hey. I love
- 52:58that. Hey at the end of it, that's right. Tim Hortons would
- 53:01be the packleads because I can't get your order right. Oh really, it's
- 53:07that's good to know. I didn't know it was like that. That's funny.
- 53:10I've only been there once. Yeah h h all right, uh Chad,
- 53:19you got some feedback? I do. I think I have um two,
- 53:24yes, I have two that I can play. So here we go
- 53:29with the first one. Ladies and Gentlemen and invited transgendered species. Paramount Studios,
- 53:36in association with the merch section at trekcast dot Com, proudly present Star
- 53:43Trek Piccard Theories Sudden Ally the last generation a pack lead review that made us
- 53:55feel good. The team here at a pack Led Review would like to thank
- 54:02everyone involved in the making of season three of the Card, as well as
- 54:06the hard working folk at trek Task for a job well done. See you
- 54:13out fair nice nice, hard working. Yeah yeah, those were hard working.
- 54:24He assumes assumptions, right, okay. Thanks. One following is an
- 54:32editorial by Federation News Networks, Space Gentry, Good morning Trek Caster as well.
- 54:39Q Dan singings, It's been a long road. I can't join you
- 54:44live today, but couldn't let this monumental occasion go by without calling in.
- 54:49What a ride it has been. We got action and humor, nostalgia,
- 54:54and enough Easter egg to keep us occupied until Strange New Worlds come back in
- 55:00June. But this really was the farewell that PNG deserved. The Riders sound
- 55:07a way to bring back so many of the characters that we love in a
- 55:09thoughtful way, and even though we doubted their vision at times, they pulled
- 55:14it off, and in doing so, they've raised the ocean level for all
- 55:17of Trek so that every shift's going to float higher. Now our has been
- 55:22raised once again, and we're all going to benefit from it. Great pleasures
- 55:28of Star Trek fandom is making predictions and theories about what is going to happen
- 55:31next. It's what expands the fun of Trek for us. And to all
- 55:36of you who had the borget Earth with a candlestick transporter created biological borg receivers,
- 55:45congratulations. The rest of us will just try harder next time. Thanks
- 55:51to everyone who makes this ride so much fun, our Trek Cast, Federation,
- 55:57News Network, Times, Space, Gentry Live and Prosper And thanks guys.
- 56:02Awesome, that's Gentry. Thanks great Gentry. We love hearing from you
- 56:07guys. Yeah, what a great send off to get both of them.
- 56:08Finally, that's awesome. Um, that's amazing. Great. We've got a
- 56:14few people callers on the line, so I got first Chatz Bizz, so
- 56:19let's bring him on there. He is one more audio for later, just
- 56:23so yeah, okay, well we'll do it after chests Bizz. Yeah,
- 56:25yeah, okay, what's going on? Man? I know much. That
- 56:30was awesome And to the series, it was it was which is your favorite
- 56:36ending of it? It was like the Lord of the Rings returning the King,
- 56:40where yeah, maybe he's over, then you got forty five minutes.
- 56:45Sorry, just keeps going on. When they were on the bed was my
- 56:49favorite. I kept pausing it and checking. I'm like, oh, there's
- 56:52twelve minutes left, all right, Yeah, there's eight minutes left, all
- 56:54right. Yeah. Well it was cool because they they you got to see
- 56:59everybody's ending in a way. Yeah, And I thought WARF's gonna die,
- 57:05Riker's gonna die, Card's gonna die. One of them to die. Yeah,
- 57:08I was like, one of these people, it's gonna sacrifice in jails.
- 57:13They so, yeah, they just went to Orlando. Yeah, that's
- 57:20how great the therapist Troy is. She's playing on her phone finding a trip,
- 57:28not listening to data. Is like, ah, he's just throwing it
- 57:30on whatever. I was like, Orlando or this other planet, let's go
- 57:34here. So yeah, yeah, you did they hint that? Um did
- 57:39they hint that she pretty much disregards counselor patient confidentiality and just tells Riker everything.
- 57:47Robots don't count exactly. That's right, it doesn't matter. It's just
- 57:54data, and guys failed to mention this. I'm bringing that back to sandwiches,
- 58:01right, okay, okay, the cook took over the helm. Yes,
- 58:07that's right, because remember the cook took over the helm and the only
- 58:12reason why he didn't do his flying was because his brother had a hernie and
- 58:15he had to take over the belly. Do you know who that actor is?
- 58:22He seems really familiar. He didn't seem familiar. That was pretty good.
- 58:27I'm hoping if they get legacy, bring that guy back, and I
- 58:30want to see his progression to becoming a badass. You know who he is?
- 58:37Yeah, yeah, but but on this, on that scene, in
- 58:38that moment, you know who he was. No, No, he was
- 58:43what's his name in the elevator um from uh Orville. Yes, the guy
- 58:51who would always be saying, mom, Dan. I always find this elevator
- 58:58music really soothing. What do you guys think it's a great day to stay
- 59:06in the Federation? Huh? Guy, y, I'm really glad I'm here.
- 59:09I wouldn't be here if my brother Timmy hadn't broke his thumb on you
- 59:13know, on an hour or whatever. Yeah, that's a that was hilarious.
- 59:19You're right. I completely forgot about that scene. And then Beverly you
- 59:22like, learned how to use phasers and torpedoes and they all look back at
- 59:27her and they're like, what's going on here? So yeah, that was
- 59:30pretty awesome. Yeah. I was like, and I mean this, this
- 59:34whole season was just it was actually great. And I was thinking about rewatches.
- 59:40Will I rewatch season one and two? Or will I just skip those
- 59:44two and go straight to them? Yeah? Exactly. You don't want to
- 59:47be watched those first two seasons because they're shit, and this one was the
- 59:51big d You know what to be fair like the original T and G didn't
- 59:54get good until season three. Fair point, Yeah, yeah, fair point.
- 1:00:00And I want to know how big is the Sport Cube? I mean
- 1:00:04it was because think how big the Enterprise d is. It's flying through this
- 1:00:07thing and you got Orlando and Niam done sitting there. You know. To
- 1:00:16me, the most realistic thing is afterwards when Worf sits down and just immediately
- 1:00:20falls asleep. Yeah. Yeah, that's not my wife. It's like when
- 1:00:24I'm talking to her, I like her, She's like, oh she's she's
- 1:00:28she's out. Yeah, it happens, awesome. Well you think, guys,
- 1:00:34you want to bring up Jessmas. Well, it was great to seek
- 1:00:37Q. I love to SEEKQ. And I'm really happy that they read Calling
- 1:00:42season one and two and they just kind of scrapped those two. They made
- 1:00:45Rappy better this season. She wasn't as annoying. Yeah, you know,
- 1:00:52her being first officer with seven to nine, and I kind of don't like
- 1:00:58that in a way. I kind of wanted seven with her own crew with
- 1:01:01Jack mhm. I would have liked seeing that show. If they do Generations,
- 1:01:08I'd like to see Raffi die. That's all well that too. Well,
- 1:01:14if they keep pushing her out and making her a better character, I'm
- 1:01:15cool. Yeah, if that don't make her just a drunken stupid yeah,
- 1:01:20well there was that point. I believe it was that, and I even
- 1:01:22said this last season in season two when we started back up with season two,
- 1:01:28there was that point for a couple of episodes where Raffi acted like a
- 1:01:30badass. Yeah, she was competent, she was she was Yeah, she
- 1:01:35was confident, she was competent, she was on it, she was going,
- 1:01:37and I was like, Okay, she's gotten her ship straight. I
- 1:01:39kind of like this, But then she goes back to that quivering and kind
- 1:01:44of you know, I don't know whatever, you know, just as giggly
- 1:01:46as her hair is, you know. And it's like, oh my god,
- 1:01:50lady apistist, she needs to talk to Data because obviously Data can do
- 1:01:57none more than just talk constantly exactly. That'd be funny if Data became the
- 1:02:01therapist, that would be hilarious. That would be hilarious. If he's the
- 1:02:06therapist, that you could have everything, but he just drones on and won't
- 1:02:08shut up about his cat. And then and then the evaluations seven of nine
- 1:02:19is like do you really need a therapist? And everybody's like, wait,
- 1:02:21data is a therapist. Yes, he is a therapist. I'm fine,
- 1:02:23I'm good. Okay, good data evaluation that you're mentally fun. You don't
- 1:02:27need it. No, I don't need a therapist. I'm good. I
- 1:02:30really wish that the Enterprise that would have used the d at the end,
- 1:02:37then the Titan, because there's so much because hell, that ship. How
- 1:02:42many times does that ship save the universe or at least star Fleet? And
- 1:02:49I want to know how strong is that space doc against all those ship Yeah,
- 1:02:53that's the whole. Yeah. I was like, okay, are they
- 1:02:57stormtroopers now? And they just can't hit the right hit it? I mean
- 1:03:00yeah, Well I imagine something that big has massive shield generators. Yeah,
- 1:03:07I mean it's it's literally designed to do exactly what we saw it do.
- 1:03:13So yeah, but there's two things wrong with that. Okay, so this
- 1:03:17is just defensive should around not just one Well they did, they did,
- 1:03:22all right, and that's that's part of the problem. So granted, I'm
- 1:03:24sure it's got huge power reserves for a projection of a shield, but apparently
- 1:03:30it has such big power reserves that it has a shield projected around the entire
- 1:03:35Earth, because as soon as it shields went down and it really started taking
- 1:03:37damage and blew up. You saw the shields around Earth drop. There were
- 1:03:42shields around Earth and those drop two and it's like, okay, hold on
- 1:03:45a second, Uh, there's no there's no energy generations for shields on the
- 1:03:51freaking ground. Really yeah? Probably, yeah, protect that area? Why
- 1:04:00put shields around the Earth anyway when you could just you know, lie through
- 1:04:04it and then hit it at close range, like I don't yeah exactly,
- 1:04:09there's something or something. Yeah, I don't know that that part of it
- 1:04:14seemed really awkward to me. Um not, I mean, yeah, I
- 1:04:19don't know, it seemed awkward. It didn't seem quite right. I kind
- 1:04:23of wish they would have made a new like not recommissioned the Titan to the
- 1:04:28G the Enterprise G. Yeah, that was kind of disappointing to me because
- 1:04:32that it's bad luck to rename a ship. And when you rename a ship
- 1:04:40and then now it's the G. So you got the big D in the
- 1:04:43G spot and yes, and when they come together they turn it a voltron
- 1:04:55turn and come together, satisfying the magic the attached when a mommy ship and
- 1:05:03a daddy ship love each other, run about drops out awesome? Well,
- 1:05:15um anything else justiz, we do have quite a few people. So yeah,
- 1:05:18great season, loved it. Uh. The only problem is the new
- 1:05:24seasons. Can they meet this? Can they keep up with good writing,
- 1:05:30good directing, everything else? Because they can if that's what they want to
- 1:05:33do. Yeah, this is the big decisions. Yeah, because the decisions
- 1:05:39we have the ten course right now is this gonna be faced for Marvel and
- 1:05:43it's gonna go it out. I mean this was endgame in a lot of
- 1:05:46ways. Yeah, this is the end game, and right now you gotta
- 1:05:50course correct. Make sure you're not just saturating the market with bad TV shows
- 1:05:55because you want content not uh good writing. It shows right, because you
- 1:06:00do the Netflix model and you just dump a bunch of content out there that
- 1:06:04subpar. People kind of get exhausted. They don't care about start right,
- 1:06:12I think all I think all they need to do, um was Strange New
- 1:06:15Worlds. It's just continue what they started last last season. They don't need
- 1:06:20to do anything more than that. They just need to continue what they did
- 1:06:24with last season. That's it. That's all they gotta do. Yeah.
- 1:06:28Absolutely, and it'll be it'll be a phenomenal success. If that's all they
- 1:06:30do, they don't have to do anything different based off of what they did
- 1:06:34last season. Lower Dex is Lower Dex. It's fantastic, and we're gonna
- 1:06:38have a crossover with those two shows this season. What about the Discovery?
- 1:06:44What about it? It's dead? Well, I know it's dead, but
- 1:06:46like how many episodes? Like having mentioned if it's coming out this year,
- 1:06:50next year, it's next year they have Yeah, it's twenty three, twelve
- 1:06:56episodes, thirteen episodes, whatever it is, and that's the end of it.
- 1:06:59Yep ye. So yeah, okay, thanks for being so sorry.
- 1:07:05Yeah, thanks, JS, appreciate it many thanks, buddy. Yeah,
- 1:07:09now you've got Oh you had another audio clip you wanted to play real quickly,
- 1:07:13Timothy Morris, Okay, yeah, that's loading. Sorry, Hello boys,
- 1:07:20I hope my favorite threesome. Oh well, this is the second time
- 1:07:26I've recorded this because the first one went on for three minutes and I didn't
- 1:07:29want to take up too much time because I know you're going to be busy
- 1:07:32today. So my thoughts on Vicard finale on the whole, I enjoyed it
- 1:07:39on the whole, I enjoyed the season much better than anything we've had since
- 1:07:44two thousand and five. I would say I hope that they carry on in
- 1:07:47this vein rather than steaming out the turgid paths of ship we've had recently.
- 1:07:55And I think there has been a setup in this finale, especially the final
- 1:08:00scene after credits, which I almost missed because I needn't turn it off my
- 1:08:05highlight. Do you know? The bit that poked out of me, apart
- 1:08:10from seeing the Enterprise D going through the death cube was when they were when
- 1:08:16they've been the guys out at the end and you could see the Enterprise D
- 1:08:20come down and turn around. You can see him from underneath beautiful. I
- 1:08:25really like that. What a fan of Enterprise G. I just don't think
- 1:08:30it looked nice. I don't like those new sources sections where they have a
- 1:08:34little cut off at the back. I need to see either round discs or
- 1:08:39ovals like the Galaxy class, so you know it needs are just little little
- 1:08:45things really on the whole, I enjoyed the show. I'm sure I'm missing
- 1:08:48something, but I don't want to take up too much of your time moving
- 1:08:54forward with your show boys. I don't know what we're gonna do now.
- 1:08:57I've quite enjoyed doing these recordings and sending them in, and haven't you make
- 1:09:00fun of my accent? I will record something again, I expect if I
- 1:09:09know what you're talking about next time. But in the meantime I wouldn't to
- 1:09:14say thank you very much for tolerating my voice notes and knocking out a brilliant
- 1:09:19show. Um. Yeah, enjoyed Picard on the whole season three and looking
- 1:09:27forward to more Trek, especially with Q. That was the big thing that
- 1:09:31got me Q. Wow, take care fellas and remember as always, love
- 1:09:40you very much, no homose, Yes, thank you. They're fantastic.
- 1:09:48I kind of want to know what a pliance he's on his way to fix.
- 1:09:51Is it a washing machine as a refrigerator? What's going on there?
- 1:09:56Plumber? Plumbers? Yeah? Yeah, but I mean like just a garbage
- 1:10:00disposal or yeah, what is going on? Yeah? He should tell us
- 1:10:04next time. You should let us know, yeh, call call, call
- 1:10:08back in or actually record it and send it to my email and then we'll
- 1:10:12play it and tell us which garbage disposal you were installing, because nobody in
- 1:10:15Great Britain has one. There you go, There you go. All right,
- 1:10:19we got hipster Spock waiting on the line. There he is always flash
- 1:10:29it's on the internet, flashing his d There you go. I mean you
- 1:10:31can't, you can't hold your hand in front of it. Yeah yeah,
- 1:10:39there you go. There you go. So what do you think? Great
- 1:10:42end? Yeah, great ending it It hit everything in the right note and
- 1:10:48stuff. So that's great. And um, I love the queue uh cameo
- 1:10:54And did you notice that he got the last word? Yeah, the whole
- 1:11:00re Yeah yeah, that was pretty cool. Um even his outfit was close.
- 1:11:06So h yeah, mm hmm, that's that's right. Uh So one
- 1:11:15thing I made a legacy versus start startle the Academy poll on on some of
- 1:11:24the trek groups on Facebook. And as I said, and I said,
- 1:11:30as I said, of the people they wanted legacy, they didn't. They
- 1:11:36didn't care for Academy. And it's like that abstracted um abstracted boyfriend meme.
- 1:11:44Yeah where Yeah, And so that's great. But let's talk about legacy for
- 1:11:54for a second, okay, can we please? Sure? Sure? Okay,
- 1:11:59So with section thirty of I'm gonna get into section thirty one before I
- 1:12:06get into that. And I have a point before that, Okay, section
- 1:12:10thirty one is happening because yo she wanted to ask her. And and with
- 1:12:15that, it's really good at like going outside and getting investments because like they
- 1:12:23cannot make movies based off of a paramount subscription revenue. It's just not enough
- 1:12:30to make any like m movie or anything or any other content, so they
- 1:12:35need investments. So um, I think with why second thirty one is happening
- 1:12:43because Yo Wan or Oscar and you get to say that we have an Oscar
- 1:12:48Best Actress winner in our cast, and that's gonna draw a lot of like
- 1:12:55attention, and like it's gonna be like, okay, yeah, it's gonna
- 1:12:59work. Right. But then with with Picard three season three, I think
- 1:13:04it's good for getting subscribers to to bump up their metrics so they could get
- 1:13:12more like investments and all the other things right, and to even make a
- 1:13:16little bit of of like content and stuff. But the thing is we might
- 1:13:25not be getting legacy right away no matter how much demand there is, because
- 1:13:31there's three letters E, S and G okay and the and why that is
- 1:13:40because you guys know about ESG scores, right, I don't tell me that.
- 1:13:46Yeah, it's it's an environmental social governance um. And it's a big
- 1:13:55thing in bank in the big banks and stuff, and it's its basically,
- 1:14:00if your score is really high, it means that uh, you'll get really
- 1:14:05really good uh investment, um, you know, ratings, and then people
- 1:14:10will and people will be like, Okay, yeah, this is great.
- 1:14:15Um, let's invest in this company because and so, and that's why they
- 1:14:23pushed the diversity thing with Academy because it bumps up their es scores so they
- 1:14:30get more investments. But that's not so. Um, the fact that piccart
- 1:14:36did so well, it's not the fact that piccart did so well. It's
- 1:14:43not I don't think it's enough to get legacy made right away because they need
- 1:14:48money coming these and so uh okay, you got you got Amazon Prime money
- 1:14:57coming in, but that's not enough. And uh, the the amount of
- 1:15:00a subscription they they got from from Pick the Card and all that stuff and
- 1:15:06all that uh streaming, that's great, but they need investors to to make
- 1:15:14all this um, all all this content. So they need to bump up
- 1:15:19the ESG scores to get that. And then after they get all the investment,
- 1:15:25then we can start making a lot of the shows that the fans want.
- 1:15:29So yeah, it is like eating your vegetables first before you get your
- 1:15:33dessert. So Academy is our vegetable. Yeah, yeah, it doesn't quite
- 1:15:39work like that. So in I mean that's I mean from from a business
- 1:15:44point of view, I think, yeah, I get start. You're comparing
- 1:15:48it to to like if I want to start a bakery, and and and
- 1:15:53or if I want to start you know, different things. But with with
- 1:15:57film and television, you have to draw an audience. Doesn't matter what your
- 1:16:00ESG score is. If nobody's gonna watch it, right, that's the whole
- 1:16:03point of it. So as far as like outside investment, the way Paramount
- 1:16:11works and the way a lot of these studios work. If it's a streaming
- 1:16:14show, it's something they pay for in house because they're trying to maintain their
- 1:16:18membership base and grow it. Right, that's their metrics are more did people
- 1:16:24join the service to watch this show and they can see when people join up
- 1:16:29in relation to when the show debuts. That's really more of what they care
- 1:16:32about. And then what they care about is did people rewatch it? How
- 1:16:35many times did you rewatch the episodes? Because then that means you're more likely
- 1:16:40to stay to watch the show. That's those are their main things, right,
- 1:16:46You're both correct. Okay, so Daniel's correct on how the streaming service
- 1:16:49is looking at what they're going to produce, what they're gonna make, what
- 1:16:53their metrics are, all that kind of stuff, right. But the production
- 1:16:56studio, the one that has to lay out the cash at the beginning of
- 1:17:00it in order to make anything, does have investors on the back end.
- 1:17:02And Hipster's Box is making a very good point about this new EGS stuff or
- 1:17:06EGP stuff that's coming around. Well, a lot of these investment banks and
- 1:17:12corporations that do put investment into things to get a return on it, right,
- 1:17:15have to do it now based on those metrics, or at least they're
- 1:17:18being pushed to do it based on those metrics. So there's a lot bit.
- 1:17:21So what I was getting to though, is what you're talking about is
- 1:17:27stuff that has not yet been assigned to where it's going to go. Is
- 1:17:30it going to go on a streaming platform, Is it going to go to
- 1:17:35the movie theaters? Where is this content going to make its its money?
- 1:17:41Are we going to just jump it on YouTube and hope ad revenue pays for
- 1:17:44this thing. That's when you're pulling in investors to pay for something, to
- 1:17:48then figure out where we're going to make our money on the back end.
- 1:17:51That's when EG scores and all that come into play. But because this is
- 1:17:56a paramount production, paramount already has lated money for Discovery or or Picard or
- 1:18:03whatever that's set. It's just now allocating. Okay, do we want to
- 1:18:09take these funds and do a season of Legacy or do we want to do
- 1:18:13a season of Picard? Do we want to do a season of Strange New
- 1:18:15World. That's the question. It's not outside investors at that point. But
- 1:18:26um, I think that um, and I think it's it lines up with
- 1:18:31a lot of the things that's been going on. Why why a lot of
- 1:18:35corporations make these really like, um, what the hell kind of type of
- 1:18:43decision and like you know, like when Disney they went walk and all this
- 1:18:49stuff and then they And so that also has a lot to do with the
- 1:18:55ESG scores, because um, the thing is paramount. They're not as rich
- 1:19:00as they used to be anymore, so they need a lot of money and
- 1:19:03so they need investors and a lot of investors. So that's why. Um,
- 1:19:10okay, yes, you're right that they probably already have allocated a lot
- 1:19:15of sum of money for the Starfeed Academy thing, and okay that's earmarked probably,
- 1:19:21but then we need they need additional funds to get this legacy going.
- 1:19:28And so okay, you got a change dot org petition going twenty five signature
- 1:19:33twenty five thousand signatures already. That's wonderful. And Metallis has been pushing for
- 1:19:40it in all the podcasts that he's been visiting and so that's, um,
- 1:19:45you know, that's great, but and that will set up the demand,
- 1:19:49but they still need the money, so investors Is really can't do with it.
- 1:19:56Yeah, we'll see, yeah, do with it. Um, there's
- 1:19:58a whole lot of stuff that goes into it that I was see we don't
- 1:20:00hear about. We'll try to get as much information as we listen. We'll
- 1:20:02try to get as much information as we can as we move forward with it.
- 1:20:05So maybe we'll hear something more too by STLV, which will be fun.
- 1:20:10Um. I hope they announced it there. I mean they should have
- 1:20:13something. Honestly, it should have ended with Q doing his bit and then
- 1:20:15like like a Venger style Jack Frusher will return. That would be hilarious.
- 1:20:23Yeah, that would be great great. I mean I want legacy to happen
- 1:20:27because you know, I really like Jerry Ryan. She's like, yeah,
- 1:20:31I get everybody likes it for multiple reasons, and like I I would love
- 1:20:39to have uh to see where Jack goes and stuff, because okay, he's
- 1:20:45a let us snug a little kid and stuff, but then he's grown on
- 1:20:49us. I think thirty so um, I think yeah, um, I
- 1:20:57want to see interest kid between Jack and Wesley. I want I want to
- 1:21:00see interactions with interactions between those two. Yeah, Jack and Wesley? How
- 1:21:03that? How in the hell with that panel? But yeah, anyway,
- 1:21:06okay, hipster spot two more guys here. Yeah, sorry, no,
- 1:21:13you're fine. Man, appreciate it. That's my That's good. All right,
- 1:21:18sounds good man, buddy, Appreciate you, buddy. Thanks for coming.
- 1:21:21Let's get T Bear on next. We got T Bear. Let's bring
- 1:21:24them on bear. Oh look at that rock. Yeah, and this is
- 1:21:32embroidered, so its bears are fashion now look at that. Yeah, but
- 1:21:39what are you doing in the garage? That's my man cave? Okay,
- 1:21:43yea clearing out some cleaning up the rock and I found this oh ng chest
- 1:21:50up n it's my other it's my other D. There you go, that's
- 1:21:57the other one. So yeah, yeah, yeah, cool. It's got
- 1:22:00like the all the configures and it's basically got the look. I think,
- 1:22:06what was it the one with yar crap with the Enterprise B. So I
- 1:22:12guess the white versus the black pieces are the Enterprise B and the Ultra Timeline.
- 1:22:16Oh yeah. Anyways, it's cleaning up more and more stuff. But
- 1:22:23I think I've watched the episode like three times already since Yeah, I'm gonna
- 1:22:29go watch go back and watch the nice Yeah. Yeah, I'm gonna do
- 1:22:34a live stream where I open them. I'm gonna go back and watch the
- 1:22:39whole series again at this point. Yeah yeah, all the little yeah,
- 1:22:42all the little Easter eggs that were leading up, and you're just gonna be
- 1:22:45like, oh, damn it that that was just foreshadowing. Oh crap,
- 1:22:47They're they're hinting it there. So it's gonna be on the lookout for those.
- 1:22:53But everything I care, everything I read says they cut a lot.
- 1:22:57They cut a lot stuff, not necessarily stuff that they filmed, but stuff
- 1:23:00that they planned, like, um, you know, Davia's got a daughter
- 1:23:05and she's alive. And there wasn't even a mention of these two coming together
- 1:23:12and you know, meeting each other and a son. They're all talking about
- 1:23:16families. Yeah, not one mention of Alexander. Yeah, and and Jordy's
- 1:23:23wife. We still don't know who Sydney and um Alane's mom is, Like,
- 1:23:27that's still something everybody know. They've hinted that it's Leah Brahms. Yeah,
- 1:23:32as far back as all good things, we know her first name is
- 1:23:35Leah. Yeah, So I don't know, it'll be interesting. I'm I
- 1:23:44was surprised they caught me off guard with Q at the end. Oh yeah,
- 1:23:46I wasn't expecting much, if anything, maybe Wesley or something or just
- 1:23:51something random. But do you see Q? That Holy crap, he just
- 1:23:59basically in his what twenty thirty seconds he was there? He ere Race season
- 1:24:01two completely. Oh yeah. It feels like because he made a comment about
- 1:24:10um, didn't he say something about so linear? Yeah, this is linear
- 1:24:15thinking. So this is this is Q at a point in Q's life before
- 1:24:19he died. That I think he I think Your Race Season two, in
- 1:24:23a sense of it wasn't as good kind of thing where his presence in that
- 1:24:28short scene was so good, and the way he did it and the way
- 1:24:31it just sounded more like CUE than the last time you saw it. And
- 1:24:34I think that's kind of not only that, but I think, I think
- 1:24:39I think you're onto something there. Um. I think it does kill season
- 1:24:44two from the standpoint of in season two, we experienced a loss of Q.
- 1:24:49Q's dead. Well granted that's linear thinking or whatever however you want to
- 1:24:54play that in terms of the Star Trek universe. But here he is again,
- 1:24:58Yeah, which is something we already kind of knew, which is that
- 1:25:00he's never He's immortal technically, and all we got to see at that point
- 1:25:03was him at the end because he wanted to be there at his end,
- 1:25:08at Picard's end, right, suppose it end or whatever. I don't know.
- 1:25:13He was already not a real boy at that point, so whatever.
- 1:25:15Um so, but I think it just lessens that impact. Though if we'd
- 1:25:19never see Q again, that would make season two more impactful. But here
- 1:25:24we are, We're seeing Q already one season later, so it makes that
- 1:25:28loss just like any other loss, Like you know, uh, nobody can
- 1:25:33die now there's they can just go get into another sleeve and get to another
- 1:25:36body, like so you know that part. Yeah, it cheapens, it,
- 1:25:43it cheapens the it cheapens what happened in season two, same thing with
- 1:25:45Agnes, So they could have brought her back, and I'm okay they didn't,
- 1:25:53but yeah, you're right. I mean, I'm okay they didn't.
- 1:25:55But it just makes season too irrelevant in a weird way that there was really
- 1:26:00challenging to move forward with those characters, yeah, the way they were.
- 1:26:03But yeah, yeah, anyways, I don't think anyone's mentioned it, but
- 1:26:09didn't you watch the Strange New Worlds trailer and catch the fact that there's cling
- 1:26:14on, like real cling on, not disco clingons. Yes, yeah,
- 1:26:19and I know people are going to complain, you know, because of the
- 1:26:24virus that half of some of them looked human. M the prosthetics, and
- 1:26:29then maybe it's a coloring. Strange New Worlds has a very saturated color palette.
- 1:26:33It looked like it was more prosthetics than natural, So I don't know,
- 1:26:38it's maybe some clingons were a little bit more vain than some other ones,
- 1:26:42and it was more honorable to have a prosthetic m ridges So but I
- 1:26:47think it's just a style of it, but yeah, I was. I
- 1:26:50was happy. I like the idea of Bougie cling on to go get plastic
- 1:26:54surgery. They did. If you go back and watch that episode of Um
- 1:27:00Enterprise, the Klingon doctor does mention, you know, I could. He
- 1:27:06says something the effect of, you know, I could change specialties and go
- 1:27:10into reconstructive surgery market. There's a market for it, or something like that.
- 1:27:15Yeah, I do remember that. You know, if I was a
- 1:27:18Klingon who suddenly didn't look like a Klingon, yeah I might, you know,
- 1:27:25go have surgery to fix that. I want larger ridges. Yes,
- 1:27:31stop to size your ridges. It's what you do with them. That's right,
- 1:27:35that's right. You could eventually explain his head because he's just waiting.
- 1:27:43Oh you know what would have been a great, a great way to have
- 1:27:45Laris in this last episode is when he introduces everybody to Laris and Worf's like
- 1:27:51upset, and he looks you married. You're married to Romulin and he's like,
- 1:27:56yes, I did, And Worf can just say, well at least
- 1:27:58she's not from the North. There I go, yes, work would have
- 1:28:04been asleep, just yeah, yeah, on the bridge. Yes, that's
- 1:28:13awesome. Do you think we'll get legacy t beer? We better We're going
- 1:28:18to ride into the streets and that's the phase start. That's exactly what the
- 1:28:28ways it's totally set up. I mean, all those multiple endings and even
- 1:28:32in some of the interviews, um, and I do suffer with you,
- 1:28:36Daniel UM. And it's funny because, yeah, if you watched the interview,
- 1:28:43at some point, mat tell Us kind of looks directly at the camera
- 1:28:45when he's asked about that. I have a feeling it's done, but he
- 1:28:50can't say anything yet exactly. I think Seven had the same. Saint Jerry
- 1:28:56Ryan had the same comment. They're kind of skirting the issue. Yeah,
- 1:29:00they were very careful on their thoughts and their words. And I don't know
- 1:29:02if it's it's paramount or what, but yeah, if they don't do it,
- 1:29:08it's stupid. And if they announced it at STLV, that'd be freaking
- 1:29:13awesome. Okay, will they announce it or will they just randomly drop it
- 1:29:16in a press release some random day because they keep doing that shit. They'll
- 1:29:20do it at Comic Con if if they do it anywhere, Yeah, San
- 1:29:25Diego Comic the big one they announced recorded a STLV. What they should do
- 1:29:30is it was an official con back then. Yeah, that's true. Yeah,
- 1:29:35yeah, I'm hoping they announced it there. Um I should be there.
- 1:29:41Hopefully you guys are there too, so we'll see. Oh yeah yeah,
- 1:29:43we'll be we will be. We are ye. Yeah, it's it's
- 1:29:46in stone. We're gonna be there. Yeah, so yes, okay,
- 1:29:49yeah, I'm already already have my apparel. Yeah, you're gonna be hot.
- 1:29:56Yeah. Yeah. It's been eighty ninety here a few days, so
- 1:30:00like this is coming off soon. Now we all have to get dressed for
- 1:30:05the show. Right, we have to get correct paralleln for to del for
- 1:30:11the heat. Can I get a track cast tank top caspedos coming soon?
- 1:30:16Oh? Man, I thought it's the men of Track Caspedos. Oh there
- 1:30:21will be yeah yeah yeah yeah you go, there you go. And it
- 1:30:26really does need to say men of track cast on the side. Yes,
- 1:30:29that's right across the button shorts or whatever. It just covers the d oh
- 1:30:39no, oh man, put the logo on the front. Yeah you could,
- 1:30:46technically it'll it'll just have a combat it says to tap the combatge right
- 1:30:50right there. What do you think it would cost. What do you think
- 1:30:55it would cost to hire a professional photographer for an hour long photo shoot?
- 1:31:00What do you think one hundred bucks? Nifty bucks in Vegas? You mean?
- 1:31:04Or yeah? Oh maybe maybe like three or four hundred yeah like that.
- 1:31:12Should we do it? Go fund me for the for the Should we
- 1:31:15shoot the amount of check gest calendar on location? Here's the thing, now,
- 1:31:24I'm scared. I have the equipment needed to do this. I could
- 1:31:28do it. I just couldn't shoot myself. I could show you one of
- 1:31:30the guys what to do. But I have lights, I have listened camera,
- 1:31:35saw the actual amount of check cast calendar. You'd want to shoot yourself.
- 1:31:44We'll talk about it. Oh yeah, yeah, alright, some photography
- 1:31:49equipment too, But I'm not going to volunteer it. He's like, I
- 1:31:54don't think I can unsee that ever in my life. No, thank you.
- 1:31:58Hey, right, it'll have to stay there. If whatever happens there,
- 1:32:00it's gonna have to stay there. Right, That's true, that's true.
- 1:32:01True visually take you know, photographs with your eyes. Strawberry is losing
- 1:32:06his mind. I can see him in the preview. I see thee in
- 1:32:12the waiting room, he's like turning his red as his shirt. It's great,
- 1:32:18all right, guys, I'll let you get moving. You appreciate it
- 1:32:23all. Take care buddy, all right, let's bring him one. Well
- 1:32:26he's go breathing. Yeah. Dandie's like, yeah, I've got the equipment
- 1:32:31for this shoot. B Are you talking about camera equipment? Oh? By,
- 1:32:39bad story, that's a different story. Oh, he's got the equipment
- 1:32:45for a threesome and the cameras to boot. It's how he makes his money
- 1:32:47on the side. But the only famous guys come on. And the other
- 1:32:50thing I couldn't stop thinking about was Star Trek g Spot yea god um.
- 1:32:58So we have this private chat, the three of us, so we're always
- 1:33:00just shooting ideas back and forth. I shot an idea for a T shirt
- 1:33:04last night and it's uh yeah, to do it treck cast warps second favorite
- 1:33:11threesome. What do you think? Yeah, yeah, yeah, great,
- 1:33:14great. I don't know if I'll buy it, but I think it's a
- 1:33:16good idea. I did by I did buy this shirt. No, you
- 1:33:20bought that shirt and my wife's got the other shirt that we bought. Yes,
- 1:33:24absolutely, thank you, Dan so um welcome a couple of things I
- 1:33:28wanted to say. Uh number one, Um, I don't think it's said
- 1:33:31enough, but uh man, what a gem gentry is Uh that guy?
- 1:33:35You gotta gotta get him on the on the show. He's awesome. Uh
- 1:33:40he's uh definitely, Uh a lot more articulate than I am. So I
- 1:33:45think he did a great job when he guests hosted the last time. But
- 1:33:48uh, you know another thing we haven't talked about, uh two, and
- 1:33:53we were talking about. You guys were talking about the things that they either
- 1:33:56shot or didn't shoot but planned to shoot and these would be great uh short
- 1:34:01tracks? Bring those back? Yeah, yeah, but you know, as
- 1:34:06much shit as we gave them for doing those, and in some cases,
- 1:34:10um, there were some really there were some really good ones in there.
- 1:34:12There's some gyms in there. Yeah. Absolutely. We game a lot of
- 1:34:15crap too, because it was like you know, short trecks of you know,
- 1:34:17Star Trek Discovery, which not all of us were excited about. But
- 1:34:20I bet if we had short you know, Picard short tracks, we'd be
- 1:34:25a lot more excited about it the worlds or anything lower decks, I mean
- 1:34:29exactly in the chair. Yeah, that was great, that was great.
- 1:34:36Yeah, we'll watch it. We'll watch it absolutely, Yeah, Jerry Ryan
- 1:34:41and Michael Doran. Absolutely anything they're in, we'll watch it. But yeah,
- 1:34:45Um, as far as the series finale, the one thing that I
- 1:34:47thought about the most was back um in ninety three and ninety four when the
- 1:34:55series finale of TNJ came on. One of the things that was different about
- 1:34:59it then for me was, you know, I was just a teenager watching
- 1:35:02it by myself in my bedroom. I didn't have anybody to share it with.
- 1:35:05You know, I was an only child, no brothers and sisters.
- 1:35:08My parents weren't into it or anything. This time, um, my wife
- 1:35:12is really into it and she watches it with me. And obviously we didn't
- 1:35:15have and by we, I mean every everybody that's watching this and listening to
- 1:35:19this. We didn't have trek Cast. We didn't have something to you know,
- 1:35:23listen to and bounce ideas off of and stuff like that. And the
- 1:35:25community has been super awesome to you know, help us be a part of
- 1:35:30that. So I just wanted to thank you guys for for doing that,
- 1:35:32because that's something we've never had before. So yeah, you know, I
- 1:35:36want to do this is enjoyable for us because we had, Yeah, exactly
- 1:35:42exactly. So it's been great. I wish I could make it to Star
- 1:35:45Trek Las Vegas, but my wife reminded me that that weekend is our anniversary
- 1:35:48weekend, so we have a we have a little motorcycle trip planned that weekend,
- 1:35:54so I can't make it. Wish I could. So what's that,
- 1:35:59Oh you're going to Sturge. Yeah, yeah, just just a real short
- 1:36:01trip. But yeah, anniversary weekend sort of. Uh, that's awesome.
- 1:36:05That's cool man. Right, there'll be other meetups, Oh, absolutely,
- 1:36:10absolutely, Yeah, if they ever come to Detroit, to Chicago or you
- 1:36:14know, any any Indianapolis or something as like that, that'd be great.
- 1:36:17H So yeah, yeah, so I'm sure we'll find other trips. But
- 1:36:23yeah, yeah, oh yeah anything all right, guys. Well that's all
- 1:36:26I had to say. So you guys have a good one. And I
- 1:36:29absolutely loved the finale, especially Data flying the Enterprise. There's been so many
- 1:36:35things, so many musical things overlaid that on, like TikTok and stuff you
- 1:36:40know with it, like Sabotage and some other different music. It's been I
- 1:36:44watch all of them. They're absolutely wonderful. I haven't seen to check them
- 1:36:46out. There's a few where they see music makes the difference and it's Hanger
- 1:36:51twelve opening and you see the d for the first time and they keep changing
- 1:36:55out the song on it. It's great. Oh yeah, like the song
- 1:36:58I Need a Hero. Yeah, like I said, sabotaged and they keep
- 1:37:01overlay just to look at data states that he's doing a Yeah, you know
- 1:37:04he's operating the control with you know, the hands and everything. So that's
- 1:37:09great to go look for him. Yeah, all right, thanks man,
- 1:37:15all right, take care everybody. Yeah, well cool, all right,
- 1:37:20that's it. We're wrapping it up. Yeah, so I got a big
- 1:37:24surprise. I was telling you forgot, forgot. Yeah. Yeah. So
- 1:37:28we always have show under or we're supposed to, right and then and then
- 1:37:32we didn't, and now I decided to make another one. So since this
- 1:37:36is the end of the show, let's play the show under. This is
- 1:37:41Captain Benjamin Cisco of Deep Space nine and Space God to the Bajorans. I
- 1:37:45have a mission for you. This falls outside of Starfleet guidelines, so I
- 1:37:48can't order you, but I'm asking for volunteers. Volunteers who will subscribe to
