- 0:01Hey everybody, welcome to the good morning from the Chicken
- 0:04Coop podcast. My name is Kim Johnson and I am
- 0:07a mastermindset coach, creative strategist, and also happened to
- 0:10be a farmer. This is my chicken coop and I
- 0:12come out here every day to record a podcast to teach
- 0:16distinctions, possibilities, new ways of thinking, and just bring
- 0:20some joy into the world. So welcome to the coop and let's
- 0:23start your day off in a fantastic way.
- 0:27Hey everybody, good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:30You know, when I'm not in with the chickens and I'm not hanging
- 0:33out, you know, photographing the chickens or videoing the
- 0:35chickens or the farm. One of the things that I spend
- 0:39an inordinate amount of time doing is helping my clients with
- 0:43their emotional states. And they're they're just
- 0:49managing their emotions so that they can grow themselves, but
- 0:52also grow their businesses. And I really have a very unique
- 0:56blend of what I do and helping people grow their businesses is
- 1:01such a, a tremendous part or their roles in businesses,
- 1:05whatever they're doing. Like some, a lot of my clients
- 1:07are parts of other companies they don't necessarily own, but
- 1:11I help them understand how to expand themselves in those roles
- 1:15and how to really cultivate the people around them that they
- 1:18lead. Because I would say 99.9% of the
- 1:22people that I coach are leaders in one way or another.
- 1:26And it's such a privilege to be able to work with people on this
- 1:31and help them and brainstorm. Because when it comes right down
- 1:34to it, everything that we do is about emotion.
- 1:36There is not one thing that we do that is void of emotion.
- 1:40We are constantly having to deal with it.
- 1:42And when you start to consider how much we how much time we
- 1:46spend working on cultivating our business and cultivating our
- 1:52financials and cultivating our outcomes, it would be silly to
- 1:56not look at the emotional context of all of that because
- 1:59for goodness sakes, it's a tremendous part of it.
- 2:02So often people come into coaching for one reason.
- 2:06But it turns out that we start working on many things.
- 2:09And I am very blessed that that I have, you know, over the years
- 2:13of doing all this and the family that I come from, the
- 2:16entrepreneurial family that I come from, you know, I was set
- 2:20up long before I even knew it to do this work and to see things
- 2:24differently and help people see things differently, provide them
- 2:27with different perspectives, ideas, and use my creativity.
- 2:31Because that is just the the best part for me, being able to
- 2:34dive in and use my creativity. And one of the things that I
- 2:39have recognized recently in doing all of this work is how
- 2:44many people don't trust themselves.
- 2:47They start to get very. And these are clients that I've
- 2:50worked with for a very long time.
- 2:51And they still, they question things and they stop and they
- 2:54say, wait a minute, you know, I'm not sure about this.
- 2:58I, I'm really like freaking myself out.
- 3:01And they often think they're not supposed to freak themselves
- 3:04out. But I'm here to tell you that,
- 3:06yeah, you know what? I get freaked out too.
- 3:08And I'm, I am constantly working on those things with my clients
- 3:12so that they don't feel that they are beholden to that and
- 3:17have to stay in that state. But the truth is we all get
- 3:20freaked out by things. And when you're growing and
- 3:23you're leading and you're building the plane while you're
- 3:26flying it, which we are all doing to some respect, it is
- 3:30scary. It is one of those things that
- 3:32you are, you're like, is this going to stay?
- 3:36Am I going to keep the altitude up?
- 3:38Am I going to stay afloat? Can I do this?
- 3:40Can I make sure that I've got this handled?
- 3:43And any, it doesn't matter who you are.
- 3:46The biggest CE OS out there to the smallest ones, they all
- 3:50question it, everybody, I can tell you that.
- 3:53So because I'm in their heads, I work with them.
- 3:55I know, I know how it goes. So what's so critically
- 3:59important to remember in all of this as you're doing whatever
- 4:03you're doing, you might be listening to this and you're
- 4:05like right at the beginning of this journey.
- 4:07And then you might be listening, you're in the middle and you
- 4:09might be listening and you're, you know, closing down, winding
- 4:12out, whatever it might be. Remember, there's always going
- 4:16to be something that freaks you out.
- 4:18Every single stage we go through has something that's going to
- 4:21freak us out. I promise you that, my friends,
- 4:24it's going to stretch you because that's how it works.
- 4:27And your business, you're never going to understand all of it.
- 4:30And even when you get where you think you're like, OK, I got it.
- 4:34Something's going to change, something's going to grow,
- 4:36something's going to evolve. You know, it, it, that's just
- 4:39the way it works in the world. People are always progressing,
- 4:42coming up with new ideas going on.
- 4:43I mean, remember, many of you, like myself, grew up.
- 4:47We don't even know what Amazon was.
- 4:49There was not an Amazon. We didn't have this instant
- 4:52delivery of things. It I mean, that wasn't even a
- 4:54part of our world. Imagine where it's going to go.
- 4:58I remember watching the Jetsons cartoons as a kid sitting there
- 5:02saying, wow, I mean, Can you imagine?
- 5:04Just like having that kind of stuff?
- 5:06But guess what? That's possible and it's going
- 5:09to change. And guess what?
- 5:10It already things have progressed.
- 5:13Things have changed every day. It just in the time it takes me
- 5:16in the 5 minutes to record this podcast, things change.
- 5:19So don't get freaked out by it. Welcome it and say I'm I'm the
- 5:23most curious person I know. And I love having that in my
- 5:28head saying I'm the most curious person I know and I'm not going
- 5:31to get freaked out by stuff. I'm just going to be curious
- 5:33about it all and I'm going to learn.
- 5:34So if you take that into your business and your attitude, I
- 5:37promise you, you're going to be way better off.
- 5:40OK, I hope this was helpful and I will see you guys tomorrow.
- 5:43Bye.
