- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with her radio. Hello everyone, welcome to the Almost Famous Podcast.
- 0:09Speaker 1: It's another edition of Headlines Only. Welcome Ben Higgins, Hi Ben,
- 0:16Speaker 1: what's up? Ash ash? How are you holding up? How
- 0:18Speaker 1: is your first Mother's Day? I did not have a
- 0:21Speaker 1: dreamy first Mother's Day. I won't sugarcoat it. We're gonna
- 0:25Speaker 1: have to redo Mother's Day. It's not like we ever
- 0:28Speaker 1: intended really for yesterday to be like my Mother's Day either.
- 0:32Speaker 1: I knew it wasn't going like I wasn't going to
- 0:35Speaker 1: be the focus. So Jared close, well he didn't actually
- 0:38Speaker 1: close Audrey's, but he did table service for the first time.
- 0:42Speaker 1: And the only like, isn't this not a regular thing?
- 0:44Speaker 1: So like basically we are like a Panera style, so
- 0:47Speaker 1: like you go to the table, you order, we call
- 0:49Speaker 1: you when it's ready. Because the shopping center that we're in,
- 0:53Speaker 1: we actually like weren't even allowed to do table service
- 0:56Speaker 1: because they wanted a coffee shop like only Vibe. They
- 0:59Speaker 1: didn't want to anything competing with like this is down restaurants. Um,
- 1:03Speaker 1: So we respected that entirely through except for yesterday, we
- 1:06Speaker 1: were just like, okay, one little special occasion, let's do
- 1:10Speaker 1: table service. So Jared was like really overwhelmed planning that, Um,
- 1:16Speaker 1: he had to go in. He left the house at
- 1:18Speaker 1: six thirty. He didn't get home until six thirty pm. Um,
- 1:24Speaker 1: the kitchen was so crazy. Um, it was just a
- 1:28Speaker 1: wild day down there. It was fun. Like I went
- 1:30Speaker 1: down for three hours and Dawson and I went and
- 1:33Speaker 1: we greeted all the moms and we had like we
- 1:35Speaker 1: met a lot of cool people. We chatted with them,
- 1:38Speaker 1: and he was so flirty, like all the girls in
- 1:41Speaker 1: the place just like loved doing and awing over him.
- 1:43Speaker 1: So that was definitely the best part of my day.
- 1:45Speaker 1: But like I didn't have like a pampering Mother's day
- 1:48Speaker 1: or anything like that because Jared was at working the
- 1:51Speaker 1: entire time. My baby is obviously too young to be
- 1:55Speaker 1: doing anything for me. Um. And then of course Jared
- 2:00Speaker 1: and I had like this minor cold this weekend and
- 2:03Speaker 1: I not COVID guys and not COVID, and um, of
- 2:08Speaker 1: course it felt the worst when I got home at
- 2:11Speaker 1: like four thirty. So I was just like hoping that
- 2:15Speaker 1: Dawson would stay asleep and take a nice long nap.
- 2:17Speaker 1: That would be like when Mother's Day gift, and actually
- 2:19Speaker 1: he did take a pretty sizeable nap, but then he
- 2:21Speaker 1: had Then Jared got home, he was all stressed out
- 2:25Speaker 1: and um it was he you know, he wanted to unline.
- 2:29Speaker 1: But then Dawson was being super cranky and I was
- 2:33Speaker 1: feeling really sick. But you know, when you take a shower,
- 2:37Speaker 1: you take your cold meds, you take some nasal spray,
- 2:39Speaker 1: and then get into bed. It's amazing how quickly you
- 2:42Speaker 1: can feel recovered. And that's what I did. And when
- 2:45Speaker 1: he got home, and once that happened, I was starting
- 2:48Speaker 1: to feel better and normal again. But you know, isn't
- 2:51Speaker 1: it just amazing the way that a shower or a
- 2:54Speaker 1: bath can be like almost as therapeutic as cold as
- 3:00Speaker 1: you feel that. I love a good shower in bath. Yeah, no,
- 3:04Speaker 1: I agree. I I heard on Instagram that you were
- 3:08Speaker 1: you took a bath this week for like the first
- 3:10Speaker 1: time in years. I did. I did. I've been traveling
- 3:13Speaker 1: a bunch and so like my lower this is not
- 3:17Speaker 1: an old person thing, this is like all my whole life.
- 3:19Speaker 1: My lower back just doesn't hold up well on flights
- 3:24Speaker 1: because you kind of sitt up so straight, and I
- 3:26Speaker 1: think I either have a bad posture or something. My
- 3:28Speaker 1: butt bone hurts on flights, long flights. Do you ever
- 3:31Speaker 1: feel that like your butt bone, like I ever massage
- 3:35Speaker 1: it on the plane? Because guilty, they they didn't you
- 3:40Speaker 1: create like a pad you put down that kind of
- 3:41Speaker 1: like rubbed your butt as you're sitting there. But I
- 3:46Speaker 1: did take a bath, Jessica convinced me to. And then
- 3:49Speaker 1: this week, you know, right now, I flew from Pebble
- 3:53Speaker 1: Beach because we did that really special episode with Chris
- 3:57Speaker 1: and Welles and Andrew Firestone, so excited, like literally across
- 4:03Speaker 1: the country. I'm in Washington, d C. Right now, UM
- 4:06Speaker 1: for a fundraiser and a board meeting. So that board
- 4:10Speaker 1: I joined a year ago, Project Hope, which is just
- 4:12Speaker 1: an incredible organization. We're doing our first galas since uh
- 4:18Speaker 1: covid h tonight and so I'm out here helping with
- 4:21Speaker 1: that getting set up. Then tomorrow how board meetings, I'll
- 4:25Speaker 1: flight back to Denver, which will be awesome. Um, this
- 4:31Speaker 1: is like my last I fly. I go one more
- 4:33Speaker 1: trip next well into this week, um for four days,
- 4:37Speaker 1: and then after that I'm home for two weeks and
- 4:41Speaker 1: that's gonna be the longest I've been home in six months.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Oh my god, man, I know I say it all
- 4:45Speaker 1: the time. I just don't know how you do it.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Two things. I have to have to go back to
- 4:50Speaker 1: baths for a second. So Dawson pooped in the bath
- 4:54Speaker 1: a couple of days ago, and I spent like twenty
- 4:58Speaker 1: minutes cleaning it up, making sure like all that was
- 5:01Speaker 1: gone right, Like how disgusting is that? But it was
- 5:05Speaker 1: so gross to me, even though it's like, in a
- 5:07Speaker 1: way half my poop half Jared's poops, since it's our
- 5:10Speaker 1: kids poop. But I can't I can't mentally like get
- 5:15Speaker 1: in the tub now, Like I was thinking, like last
- 5:17Speaker 1: night when I took a shower, I was like, it
- 5:18Speaker 1: would be so nice to take a bath right now.
- 5:20Speaker 1: But I'm just gonna be thinking that I'm like sitting
- 5:24Speaker 1: in his poop. Do you concur would you feel the
- 5:28Speaker 1: same way or would you be like, actually, get over that,
- 5:30Speaker 1: Just put some more chlorox on on a scrap script
- 5:33Speaker 1: scrap and get back in. Actually, I don't think it's
- 5:37Speaker 1: anything to be worried about. I think it's very common.
- 5:41Speaker 1: I I see what you're saying, but you clean it
- 5:45Speaker 1: up a bit. Here's here's here's something that I'll tell you. Okay. Um,
- 5:52Speaker 1: I think like there's these stages from my friends that
- 5:56Speaker 1: have kids that I hear about in parenthood, where like
- 6:00Speaker 1: you start out and you know, it's weird the first
- 6:03Speaker 1: time to get pete off, it's odd. The first time
- 6:06Speaker 1: you get pooped on on your hands that you're eating
- 6:09Speaker 1: with every day. That's such a good point. It's like,
- 6:12Speaker 1: I get poop on my hands, just kind of stay
- 6:14Speaker 1: like screw it, like I'm giving up and I'm going
- 6:19Speaker 1: to have it in my hair and my clothes. It
- 6:22Speaker 1: might there might, it might last a little longer around
- 6:24Speaker 1: the house and it needs to. But like it just
- 6:28Speaker 1: you try your best. But when it comes to a
- 6:31Speaker 1: bath that I know you consider and Jerry consider a
- 6:34Speaker 1: sacred you just have to get over it. Okay. That's
- 6:37Speaker 1: such good advice, thank you, Because if I have it
- 6:40Speaker 1: on my fingers and I'm eating with my fingers and
- 6:43Speaker 1: I'm biting my nails, that is way more discussing than
- 6:47Speaker 1: taking a bath in a bathtub that's been scrubbed down.
- 6:50Speaker 1: It's been scrubbed down. So you're good. Hey, um, actually,
- 6:55Speaker 1: I think you're doing great. And I know this Mother's Day,
- 6:58Speaker 1: uh maybe wasn't the relaxing Mother's Day. But here's here's
- 7:02Speaker 1: the cool thing that I just envisioned that. Uh, and
- 7:07Speaker 1: the years to come, Dawson is gonna love you so much.
- 7:10Speaker 1: And Jared and his work schedule is gonna like kind
- 7:14Speaker 1: of even out and become more rithmatic, um where he's
- 7:17Speaker 1: gonna like it just happens over time with the new business.
- 7:20Speaker 1: And there's gonna be so many more years of you
- 7:23Speaker 1: feeling so loved and so celebrated, and so many cool
- 7:26Speaker 1: gifts and so many nice little smooches and hugs and Mommy,
- 7:30Speaker 1: I love you on this day that this first year,
- 7:34Speaker 1: it's just gonna be. It's gonna even gonna be a memory.
- 7:38Speaker 1: You're gonna be like, I don't even remember my first
- 7:39Speaker 1: Mother's Day because I'm sure at that time I was
- 7:41Speaker 1: just trying to keep this child alive. You're doing a
- 7:45Speaker 1: good job at that. I'm fine, I'm good. Thank you.
- 7:48Speaker 1: We will like playing another day where we could do
- 7:50Speaker 1: some cute things together, but thank you. Yes, it's the
- 7:54Speaker 1: Mother's Day. When then the kids actually like conscious that
- 7:58Speaker 1: that counts. Um. You gotta tell me about Pebble Beach.
- 8:03Speaker 1: I mean you you were reunited with Chris Harrison the
- 8:05Speaker 1: first for the first time since he's no longer been
- 8:08Speaker 1: with the show. Yeah, that's good, that's a good point. Yeah.
- 8:11Speaker 1: So we have a really special podcast episode, uh sponsored
- 8:15Speaker 1: by Hugeries, coming out on the eleventh of this month.
- 8:19Speaker 1: So just two days from now, you'll be able to
- 8:21Speaker 1: hear an interview with Wells, Andrew and myself and Chris
- 8:25Speaker 1: sat off to the side. He wasn't a part of
- 8:27Speaker 1: the podcast episode for obviously he wasn't. No, he wasn't, um,
- 8:31Speaker 1: But we do talk a lot about him, and you
- 8:33Speaker 1: hear is when we start talking golf, especially you start
- 8:36Speaker 1: hearing him speak up a little bit in the background
- 8:39Speaker 1: because he gets fired up. Uh. But it was the
- 8:42Speaker 1: first time I've been with him and we've never shied
- 8:44Speaker 1: away from that here. Like, he's a friend of mine
- 8:47Speaker 1: and I love him um as a person. He's been
- 8:49Speaker 1: a great mentor to me through this experience. I was
- 8:54Speaker 1: sad that I hadn't seen him since his time of
- 8:57Speaker 1: leaving this show. That was weird to me, um, and
- 9:00Speaker 1: so it was really special. I felt like to to
- 9:03Speaker 1: do something together that was so special, like play Pebble Beach.
- 9:06Speaker 1: That is a bucket list of course for anybody, for
- 9:10Speaker 1: me especially um. And we got to spend two full
- 9:14Speaker 1: days together just hanging out, catching up, talking, being human again,
- 9:21Speaker 1: not really talking about the show much, it got brought
- 9:24Speaker 1: up a few times, but just talking about life and
- 9:27Speaker 1: and being people together again. And that was really special
- 9:32Speaker 1: to me. I told Jess when I got home, I said, yeah,
- 9:36Speaker 1: playing Pebble Beach is incredible. And I had my low
- 9:39Speaker 1: round ever on the front nine. I was even part.
- 9:41Speaker 1: I was actually two undergoing into the last two line
- 9:43Speaker 1: doubled in as even part after the first nine at Pebble,
- 9:48Speaker 1: which was because I want a lot of money off
- 9:49Speaker 1: of Wells and Chris. But that was incredible. That playing
- 9:54Speaker 1: Pebble Beach, that was That is something I'll never forget,
- 9:56Speaker 1: my first time playing all eighteen holes of Pebble Beach.
- 10:00Speaker 1: But the best part to me, Ashley, was sitting across
- 10:03Speaker 1: the table from Chris and knowing that even if the
- 10:08Speaker 1: show isn't a part of either of our lives at
- 10:10Speaker 1: a very large level, now that we still have a
- 10:13Speaker 1: friendship and that we still have that that we like.
- 10:17Speaker 1: I hope I don't know, I can't speak for him,
- 10:20Speaker 1: but I hope that he would enjoy me and enjoy
- 10:24Speaker 1: my presence even outside of a television show. And I
- 10:28Speaker 1: think that's what this weekend show to me, because I
- 10:30Speaker 1: I enjoy Hit and that that that to me was
- 10:34Speaker 1: the most meaningful part. That's awesome. Did he come up
- 10:36Speaker 1: there just to play with you guys? He did? Yeah?
- 10:39Speaker 1: How special is that? Played? And we went to dinner
- 10:43Speaker 1: and he kind of showed me around. You know, he
- 10:46Speaker 1: plays an a T and T celeb tournament at Pebble
- 10:50Speaker 1: every year, and so he kind of showed me around Pebble.
- 10:52Speaker 1: So did Wells, and so did Andrew. Andrews played it
- 10:55Speaker 1: many times. All those guys have played at Wells. Grew
- 10:57Speaker 1: up there. Uh, Andrew kind of grew up there to
- 11:00Speaker 1: high school there. Chris you know, goes up all the time.
- 11:03Speaker 1: And so they kind of showed me around, showed me
- 11:05Speaker 1: the cool little spot, showed me the fun little bars,
- 11:08Speaker 1: and um told me the history of the course and
- 11:10Speaker 1: that that was fun and it was. I mean, Andrew,
- 11:14Speaker 1: I think you're gonna hear on the podcast, but Andrew
- 11:16Speaker 1: is um hilarious. He like I never I always forget
- 11:20Speaker 1: how funny Andrew Fierson is. He's a constant person that
- 11:24Speaker 1: makes you laugh. He's just one of those people that
- 11:25Speaker 1: always have some joke lined up, but the greatest delivery
- 11:29Speaker 1: and so and he did that on the podcast, so
- 11:31Speaker 1: it was really it was fun to do with him.
- 11:33Speaker 1: Did Chris given me insights as to his wedding possibly
- 11:38Speaker 1: with Lauren Zima? He didn't. We did ask Amy was there,
- 11:42Speaker 1: our producer Amy was. It was at the whole weekend
- 11:46Speaker 1: with us, and she asked him. I wasn't going to Uh,
- 11:50Speaker 1: there was no details. I don't know what their plans
- 11:54Speaker 1: Doree and I should have asked. I felt like a
- 11:58Speaker 1: question I could have asked. I don't want to. I
- 12:00Speaker 1: want to make sure not to ask anything bachelor focused.
- 12:03Speaker 1: Do you think that Lauren is bachelor focused? No? No,
- 12:06Speaker 1: no no, I was saying like I was cautious of
- 12:08Speaker 1: the question, like of the things I wanted to dive
- 12:11Speaker 1: into with him on life, so mostly him personally, like
- 12:14Speaker 1: where is he at personally? Where they living? What are
- 12:16Speaker 1: they doing? Yeah? Where are the Texas or l A,
- 12:20Speaker 1: mostly Texas. Both of his kids now have one is
- 12:24Speaker 1: already in school at TCU, one is going to be
- 12:27Speaker 1: going to school at TCU. So Texas is kind of now.
- 12:32Speaker 1: Where the whole family is gonna be so they'll all
- 12:35Speaker 1: be down in the Austin and Dallas here. How's Lauren
- 12:38Speaker 1: dealing with that with work? I think really good. I
- 12:43Speaker 1: think she's able to travel back and forth Austin to
- 12:46Speaker 1: l A. It's pretty easy now because there's so many
- 12:49Speaker 1: people think about it during COVID that moved from l
- 12:51Speaker 1: A to Austin in sort of businesses in Austin. So
- 12:54Speaker 1: the ability to travel back and forth is super easy.
- 12:56Speaker 1: And uh and so they you know, they can go
- 12:59Speaker 1: back and have their their place there and she can
- 13:02Speaker 1: stay and work and she can come back. I don't
- 13:04Speaker 1: know the time commitment now, o et Like, I don't
- 13:07Speaker 1: know if it you know, if you have to be
- 13:09Speaker 1: on set every day, if you're traveling on the country
- 13:12Speaker 1: going to do stuff. I don't know that. But I
- 13:14Speaker 1: know that she's doing fine with it, and her career
- 13:16Speaker 1: is still doing really well. And I know that's something
- 13:19Speaker 1: important to both her and Chris, is that Lauren, you know,
- 13:21Speaker 1: continues to have a career that she cares about and
- 13:23Speaker 1: loves for as long as she loves it. So but yeah,
- 13:27Speaker 1: so I don't think that's a problem. Is career a
- 13:29Speaker 1: focus of Chris's right now or is he just kind
- 13:31Speaker 1: of taking a break. It feels like a break. I
- 13:35Speaker 1: think it is. I mean a guy who's been on
- 13:38Speaker 1: television for that long, um, who's super talented obviously and
- 13:42Speaker 1: has a huge name. I mean you should have seen
- 13:44Speaker 1: Ashley the amount of people that would come up to him,
- 13:48Speaker 1: Not Wells and myself or Andrew. It was Chris, like
- 13:52Speaker 1: wanting to talk to Chris, take a picture with Chris,
- 13:55Speaker 1: like we were standing on the side, which is super
- 13:57Speaker 1: fun and cool and a different perspect him, but he
- 14:01Speaker 1: still has a huge following. But I didn't get the
- 14:05Speaker 1: sense that he was that he was like trying to
- 14:09Speaker 1: work right now. I'm sure if the right opportunity can
- 14:12Speaker 1: about you consider, but I just didn't get that sense.
- 14:15Speaker 1: What would people say when they went up to Chris?
- 14:19Speaker 1: A lot of mrs we miss you? Um, you know.
- 14:24Speaker 1: I think a lot of people were just wondering, like
- 14:27Speaker 1: how are you? Some people were asking like what happened?
- 14:32Speaker 1: Where did you go? Some people have no clue what happened? Right? Uh,
- 14:35Speaker 1: they were just they saw Chris Harris, and they remember
- 14:38Speaker 1: twenty years ago. They haven't followed the show since, so
- 14:40Speaker 1: they were just like Hey, we haven't seen you around.
- 14:42Speaker 1: Where have you been? Um? But a lot of we
- 14:45Speaker 1: miss I felt like the most common phrase shared with
- 14:48Speaker 1: him was we miss you. Yeah. That doesn't surprise me
- 14:52Speaker 1: because usually I hear that in the coffee shop all
- 14:54Speaker 1: the time when people are like, oh, the show is
- 14:56Speaker 1: not the same without him. It's one of the most
- 14:59Speaker 1: common things I or what I asked about if they're
- 15:01Speaker 1: enjoying the show these days. Then there was a lot
- 15:04Speaker 1: of comments to us like how cool is did you
- 15:06Speaker 1: guys still get together? And it's like that it is cool. Um,
- 15:10Speaker 1: it might be the first time in a while, but
- 15:12Speaker 1: it is cool. It was It was good for us,
- 15:16Speaker 1: I think, good for me. I don't want to speak
- 15:18Speaker 1: for every but it was really good for me to
- 15:20Speaker 1: be with him again and uh, and to be with
- 15:23Speaker 1: him now. So the first time I've been with christ
- 15:25Speaker 1: since I've been married, and first one mus have been
- 15:27Speaker 1: with Andrews have been married, and so that's a whole
- 15:29Speaker 1: new perspective sharing that lot side of my life with them.
- 15:34Speaker 1: That's awesome. I'm so glad that you had that time.
- 15:36Speaker 1: I could like genuinely tell that you were like that
- 15:40Speaker 1: was a special weekend that you're gonna remember it was
- 15:43Speaker 1: a special weekend with some special people that are part
- 15:45Speaker 1: of some huge moments in life. Again, that episode is
- 15:49Speaker 1: gonna air thanks to ber Eats for helping get us
- 15:54Speaker 1: all set up with everything we need. A funny story
- 15:56Speaker 1: that you'll hear on the podcast. I'll tear it tell
- 15:58Speaker 1: it in short, here I got to Monterey my bags,
- 16:02Speaker 1: my golf bag was lost with all of my clothes
- 16:05Speaker 1: and all of my coil trees. And how ironic is
- 16:07Speaker 1: that that your golf bag gone? And so uber Eats
- 16:13Speaker 1: helped make sure I had everything I needed for the weekend.
- 16:18Speaker 1: You'll hear the details of that on the podcast that's
- 16:21Speaker 1: launs from the eleventh. But they did help, So I'm
- 16:23Speaker 1: really glad they were hosting this trip because they were
- 16:26Speaker 1: the perfect partner to me in a time of need.
- 16:31Speaker 1: But yeah, you'll you'll hear more about that again on
- 16:35Speaker 1: a really special episode on the eleventh that we tell
- 16:37Speaker 1: this whole story. Hey, actually we do have some good
- 16:40Speaker 1: headlines to get to you today again, Um, you have
- 16:45Speaker 1: a lot of good Mother's days to come. Uh. Special
- 16:48Speaker 1: episode dropping on the eleventh with Andrew Firestone, Wells Adams
- 16:51Speaker 1: and like some little whispers in the background from Chris
- 16:54Speaker 1: Harrison and also, UM, I just wanted once again say
- 16:59Speaker 1: I'm out here, uh in Washington, d C. With Project
- 17:01Speaker 1: Hope because we have a big fundaiser coming up to
- 17:04Speaker 1: support healthcare workers and UH and all the good things
- 17:08Speaker 1: the healthcare workers are doing, not only here in the
- 17:10Speaker 1: United States but around the world. UM, the nurses, the
- 17:14Speaker 1: people that are our first responders. And also crossing it
- 17:18Speaker 1: over to UM the refugee crisis in Ukraine. UM. A
- 17:22Speaker 1: ton of work going on over there right now with
- 17:25Speaker 1: Project Hope. So I'm out here with this fundaiser. Check
- 17:27Speaker 1: them out. It's a great organization. UM. Hey, let's take
- 17:30Speaker 1: a break, ash good glass of water. We come back.
- 17:34Speaker 1: We're gonna break down headlines with our resident expert, Ashley
- 17:38Speaker 1: I connect resident expert right here. Okay, except for the
- 17:51Speaker 1: first headline. This one isn't big one. It's a huge one.
- 17:55Speaker 1: The Scott disc one. Yeah, Scott Disac, a name that
- 18:00Speaker 1: you don't hear often anymore, but when you do, bends
- 18:03Speaker 1: out of the lip in the whole pop culture world,
- 18:07Speaker 1: it's still pretty relevant. Well, son of a house, what
- 18:11Speaker 1: does he do? What do you mean? He's still on
- 18:13Speaker 1: the Kardashians this past week was a lot about him. Oh,
- 18:17Speaker 1: Jess has been watching the Kardashians so good on on Hulu.
- 18:21Speaker 1: I don't know what the difference is, but it's been
- 18:24Speaker 1: so good. It used toe one of the shows that
- 18:26Speaker 1: like I'd watch when I got a chance, you know,
- 18:28Speaker 1: like in binge form or whatnot. But now it's like
- 18:31Speaker 1: every Thursday morning, I wake up and I'm like, New
- 18:34Speaker 1: Kardashian's tonight. Yeah. So she said, it's so good on Hulu.
- 18:38Speaker 1: She said, well, okay, Well a name that we hear
- 18:41Speaker 1: very often, and we do here. We know some big
- 18:43Speaker 1: headline is coming. Scott Disa spotted leaving Miami restaurant with
- 18:48Speaker 1: this is the headline, mystery girl. Now, due to our
- 18:54Speaker 1: great sleuthing and just our own eyes, we know who
- 18:57Speaker 1: this mystery girl is. The picture is very obvious. Actually
- 19:00Speaker 1: break it down for I sent these. I sent the
- 19:03Speaker 1: group are almost famous group this morning a picture of
- 19:07Speaker 1: Scott Disick that was put out by Hollywood Life with
- 19:12Speaker 1: this mystery girl in the background, and I go, you, guys,
- 19:15Speaker 1: oh my gosh, look it's Karin out with Scott desac
- 19:20Speaker 1: in Miami. They apparently were leaving a restaurant around two am. Uh,
- 19:27Speaker 1: he was, you know, just wearing his Scott outfit and
- 19:32Speaker 1: Karin was wearing a crop top and a black leather
- 19:35Speaker 1: jacket and a white patterned miniskirt with white chunky heels,
- 19:39Speaker 1: and she was sitting in the back seat of the car.
- 19:43Speaker 1: It looked like Scott was trying to hide his face.
- 19:46Speaker 1: Cameras of course surrounding the car ended up getting a
- 19:49Speaker 1: few pictures in which you can see Karin's face quite
- 19:52Speaker 1: clearly in the back um. And it's it's funny that
- 19:56Speaker 1: they're calling it a mystery girl. Uh don't know how
- 20:00Speaker 1: much Karin's gonna love to hear that, But she looks
- 20:04Speaker 1: to be in the backseat of his car. And apparently
- 20:07Speaker 1: they've hung out one time before, or like we're spotted
- 20:09Speaker 1: at the same event together before. So but this seems
- 20:12Speaker 1: like it was an outing, perhaps just the two of
- 20:15Speaker 1: us that put the two of them. Uh, they were
- 20:18Speaker 1: leaving Pappy Stake. Who eats dinner? I mean Miami, right,
- 20:22Speaker 1: Miami ate leave dinner at two? I am you go
- 20:25Speaker 1: to dinner at twelve. It's weird. That's ridiculous to me. Yeah,
- 20:33Speaker 1: that's the hardest part of the store. For me the
- 20:34Speaker 1: process leaving at two am. Uh, well, let us break
- 20:40Speaker 1: this news. If people are assuming this is a mystery girl,
- 20:44Speaker 1: then please quote the almost famous podcast and saying, no,
- 20:46Speaker 1: we know who this mystery girl is. It's Karin Olympias,
- 20:49Speaker 1: one of our favorites that come on the podcast and
- 20:52Speaker 1: h hey, we'll see if this plays out. We'll see
- 20:55Speaker 1: if we get a statement for many of them admitting
- 20:59Speaker 1: that maybe they're hanging out a little bit. I mean,
- 21:01Speaker 1: that would be cool for all of us Kardashian fans.
- 21:05Speaker 1: You know we had. Next headline is this. We had
- 21:09Speaker 1: um Matt James in the podcast a short time ago
- 21:12Speaker 1: talking about his new book and talking about his life
- 21:15Speaker 1: and catching up with him. So we're gonna do a
- 21:16Speaker 1: string of Matt James headlines here. The first thing is
- 21:20Speaker 1: Matt James, please with The Bachelor to show something real
- 21:25Speaker 1: and wrong after too many whistleblowers. This is a quote
- 21:29Speaker 1: in the headline. This is according to US Weekly. Mm hmmm, okay,
- 21:33Speaker 1: so this is how the article reads. While some authors
- 21:35Speaker 1: are anxious to share their stories with the world, Matt
- 21:38Speaker 1: James was ready to give Bachelor viewers the missing pieces
- 21:41Speaker 1: of his journey. I feel like we all thought that
- 21:43Speaker 1: there were some and encourage the franchise to be more
- 21:46Speaker 1: transparent to avoid tell All books in the future. He
- 21:50Speaker 1: definitely alluded to this on our podcast, you know, because
- 21:53Speaker 1: he told us that he left holding hands with Rachel
- 21:57Speaker 1: Um at the tell or at the to the final rows,
- 22:00Speaker 1: so we definitely knew that there was things that we
- 22:02Speaker 1: weren't seeing. And he said, I had already said it,
- 22:07Speaker 1: like I was preparing to see it on TV, and
- 22:10Speaker 1: when I didn't see it, like the scenes that like
- 22:13Speaker 1: really like filled and missing in puzzle pieces, Yeah, he
- 22:16Speaker 1: was like, dang, I guess it was too raw to show.
- 22:21Speaker 1: He was saying this on the Right Reasons podcast this week,
- 22:25Speaker 1: and he said, I guess it was too raw for
- 22:27Speaker 1: what they were looking for, which is unfortunate because when
- 22:30Speaker 1: you're vulnerable and you're open about those things like, um,
- 22:35Speaker 1: the little bits that they shared that I was very vulnerable.
- 22:39Speaker 1: Hell A, people resonated with that. Okay, So because this
- 22:43Speaker 1: is like a little bit of a choppy quote to say,
- 22:47Speaker 1: I was to summarize, basically, there were moments that he
- 22:51Speaker 1: felt they were really raw and vulnerable that he really
- 22:54Speaker 1: wishes were shown in its entirety because the people really
- 22:59Speaker 1: resonated when they saw the little bits of vulnerability. Um,
- 23:03Speaker 1: he says, It's it's not like it's that hard of
- 23:06Speaker 1: a formula. How about you just doubled down on the
- 23:09Speaker 1: Real Nous. People aren't dumb anymore. Maybe back in the
- 23:13Speaker 1: day you can get away with like, oh my god,
- 23:15Speaker 1: this is crazy, but there have been so many books
- 23:17Speaker 1: that have come out, and there have been so many
- 23:19Speaker 1: whistleblowers that we're like past that. Come on, now, let's
- 23:24Speaker 1: be real. That's why you're seeing people go to these
- 23:27Speaker 1: other shows because they're not tiptoeing around that. How about
- 23:31Speaker 1: you double down, Bachelor Bachelorette on the Real Nous. Get
- 23:35Speaker 1: it straight. It's frustrating because you've got so much good
- 23:39Speaker 1: stuff there and you're frumbling the bag. Okay, so I
- 23:44Speaker 1: have thoughts on this. I agree, Um, there's a lot
- 23:50Speaker 1: of fluff on the show when they could really be
- 23:54Speaker 1: taking those like eliminating those moments and adding some more
- 23:58Speaker 1: deep conversations, even like fun stuff that show how people
- 24:03Speaker 1: are making these connections. It feels like everything we see
- 24:07Speaker 1: is either like this ultra serious talk um, or it
- 24:13Speaker 1: just seems like a little bit silly, Like I have
- 24:18Speaker 1: no idea how to wear this. I guess from my
- 24:20Speaker 1: own personal experience, there were some moments that were so
- 24:26Speaker 1: fun or that were so meaningful that you look forward
- 24:31Speaker 1: to seeing what he mentioned and then you don't end
- 24:34Speaker 1: up seeing in the cut and you're like, but that's
- 24:37Speaker 1: where the connection was formed, and you you're leaving that out?
- 24:41Speaker 1: What about you? Well, I've always wanted more depth to
- 24:44Speaker 1: any of the stories. I've wanted that for years. I
- 24:49Speaker 1: think that's what we like. Like we've said we watched
- 24:51Speaker 1: the show not only to see the drama, because that
- 24:53Speaker 1: does intrigue the masses, but also to celebrate with the contestants, uh,
- 25:01Speaker 1: to cry with the contestants, to feel something, and when
- 25:05Speaker 1: it is only fluff, uh, then it's hard to feel.
- 25:08Speaker 1: And I think everybody's story is worth telling, and it
- 25:11Speaker 1: should be told to the best of the show's ability
- 25:13Speaker 1: and the time that they have. Um. I don't know
- 25:17Speaker 1: the backstory to what Matt's hinting at here, Like, I
- 25:20Speaker 1: don't know what he thinks should have been shown that
- 25:23Speaker 1: would have made more sense. Um, But I would say
- 25:27Speaker 1: in general, over every season, that's a change I would
- 25:31Speaker 1: I would love to see is some depth to the show. Well,
- 25:35Speaker 1: an interesting headline next Matt James as well. Um, Matt,
- 25:39Speaker 1: this is the headline Matt James, and it know he
- 25:41Speaker 1: was the first black bachelor when he accepted the gig.
- 25:45Speaker 1: That's mind blowing to me. It's mind blowing to me too.
- 25:49Speaker 1: I mean because even before he accepted it, there were
- 25:54Speaker 1: the rumors that he was going to be the next Bachelor, right,
- 25:57Speaker 1: like we kind of hinted at it, and like that
- 25:58Speaker 1: was the headline back then. So it's just it is
- 26:02Speaker 1: it's a little surprising that he didn't know who knows.
- 26:05Speaker 1: I mean, he might be that disconnected from the franchise
- 26:08Speaker 1: in general that he had no clue. I mean, I
- 26:09Speaker 1: think he's gone on to say he never really watched
- 26:11Speaker 1: the show before Tyler was on it, and then um
- 26:16Speaker 1: obviously when he was the Bachelor. I don't know if
- 26:18Speaker 1: he's still watch it today. But interesting a little headline. Yeah, okay,
- 26:21Speaker 1: so but here's the quote. He said, I wasn't really
- 26:23Speaker 1: asking the right questions. I guess I didn't think that
- 26:27Speaker 1: this was something that hadn't been done. It's two now,
- 26:31Speaker 1: and I didn't think that that was something that we
- 26:33Speaker 1: hadn't crossed yet. I had seen a whole bunch of
- 26:35Speaker 1: black people come through the franchise that I guess I
- 26:38Speaker 1: assumed that there had been a black bachelor. Well he
- 26:42Speaker 1: was the first, to his surprise. Well, next headline is
- 26:46Speaker 1: Becky Kupfern reveals what Thomas Jacobs has to do before
- 26:50Speaker 1: they get engaged. According to ET, she says, he knows this.
- 26:56Speaker 1: He needs to ask for my mother's blessing. He can't
- 26:58Speaker 1: get down on one knee until after that happens. I've
- 27:01Speaker 1: already done two very public engagements. I do not like
- 27:05Speaker 1: that and do not want that again. No public, no
- 27:10Speaker 1: public um. And he's very well well aware of that.
- 27:14Speaker 1: For me, I've been there, done that. I think that
- 27:18Speaker 1: the way that I look at it is people sometimes
- 27:22Speaker 1: look so much into the proposal and the wedding itself,
- 27:25Speaker 1: not the actual marriage. I'm at the point where I
- 27:27Speaker 1: want to spend my life with him. I want to
- 27:29Speaker 1: be with him. I don't I don't need anything big,
- 27:32Speaker 1: extravagant public in any way. I want to just be us.
- 27:35Speaker 1: He knows that I honestly didn't need to tell him that.
- 27:39Speaker 1: He just knew from everything we've been talking about, which
- 27:42Speaker 1: is really nice. She says, it's definitely on the horizon.
- 27:46Speaker 1: That's something they've talked about, something that they've been talking
- 27:49Speaker 1: about actually for a while. He jokingly proposed with a
- 27:53Speaker 1: paper clip ring once and I was like, I would
- 27:58Speaker 1: say yes to this paper clip ring, except it cuts
- 28:01Speaker 1: my finger all the time. That's very cute and I'm
- 28:03Speaker 1: pretty sure that's in a Taylor Swift song. Paper clip ring.
- 28:07Speaker 1: That's a It's a big deal that they're they're getting
- 28:10Speaker 1: into this path. They seem very happy and we're happy
- 28:12Speaker 1: for him. And what a cool story. That is another
- 28:15Speaker 1: success story from Bachelor in Paradise, which seemed to have
- 28:18Speaker 1: a lot of those. Isn't it nuts? I love it.
- 28:31Speaker 1: Speaking of success stories, I'd say one of, if not
- 28:37Speaker 1: Bachination's most eligible um bachelor tes Madison Pruett, has gone
- 28:43Speaker 1: Instagram official with new boyfriend Grant Michael Trout. I got
- 28:49Speaker 1: the realist g in town, is her quote this, According
- 28:52Speaker 1: to US Weekly, Yeah, that was her first line of
- 28:54Speaker 1: her Instagram caption. She says, Grant Michael Trout, you are
- 28:59Speaker 1: so full of passion and purpose and joy. I am
- 29:02Speaker 1: proud to get to do life with someone who loves
- 29:05Speaker 1: Jesus and people like you do. Um. She said, there's
- 29:09Speaker 1: nobody else in the world she'd rather do life with.
- 29:12Speaker 1: And it's been special since their first date, um, when
- 29:17Speaker 1: he forgot to open the car door because they were
- 29:20Speaker 1: both so nervous. Um, and that they barely touched their
- 29:24Speaker 1: case a dias at dinner because they had such deep
- 29:27Speaker 1: conversations and talked about intentional questions. And then they ended
- 29:33Speaker 1: that night riding around listening to Drake in the car
- 29:37Speaker 1: on full blast for hours. She says, You're my best friend,
- 29:41Speaker 1: my favorite, Hello, my heartest, Goodbye. There's no one else
- 29:44Speaker 1: in the world like you. Let's keep dreaming, vibing, serving
- 29:48Speaker 1: and loving together. Um. Yeah, so let's we don't know
- 29:52Speaker 1: how long they've been together, but I'm very anxious to
- 29:56Speaker 1: know because the way that she writes sounds like, uh,
- 30:01Speaker 1: they're forever. Yeah, it sounds pretty serious. Good for them,
- 30:06Speaker 1: Good for them. Love is in the air well. Um,
- 30:10Speaker 1: from being in a relationship to choosing to be single.
- 30:13Speaker 1: Tasia Adams gets real about choosing to be single or
- 30:16Speaker 1: her quote is maybe applaud me for not settling disaccording
- 30:20Speaker 1: to people. So she says she's focusing on her career
- 30:24Speaker 1: solo for now. Um, she's taken a detour from wanting
- 30:28Speaker 1: to be married and starting a family right now. She
- 30:31Speaker 1: says that she still wants marriage and a family more
- 30:34Speaker 1: than anything, but she's realized that wanting to be in
- 30:39Speaker 1: a healthy, supportive relationship while simultaneously being a successful woman
- 30:45Speaker 1: um having a cohesive unit and not basically choosing one
- 30:50Speaker 1: or the other. So she wants, like I guess, find
- 30:54Speaker 1: a relationship in which she can do both equally. Uh well,
- 31:03Speaker 1: kind of back to Matt James for our final headline
- 31:06Speaker 1: of today. Matt James reflex, I just remember this as
- 31:12Speaker 1: this heap that came up. I totally had forgotten. Oh
- 31:14Speaker 1: my gosh, what a what a time that we've done
- 31:16Speaker 1: this podcast. It's it's really flown by. But yes, this
- 31:19Speaker 1: was a huge headline two years ago. Yeah. So Matt
- 31:24Speaker 1: James reflects from two years ago on Claire Crawley's bachelorette shade.
- 31:31Speaker 1: Two years later, I've still never spoken to her, Matt
- 31:34Speaker 1: James said, this is going to us weekly. Okay, if
- 31:37Speaker 1: you guys remember Matt was on cameo. Claire didn't like
- 31:41Speaker 1: that there was a guy on cameo that was supposedly
- 31:44Speaker 1: going to be on her season, and she said, if
- 31:47Speaker 1: you're doing interviews and creating cameo accounts before you're even
- 31:50Speaker 1: on my season. You're in it for the wrong reasons.
- 31:53Speaker 1: Don't hashtag, don't waste your time. Um So, now Matt
- 32:01Speaker 1: is saying this sentiment backfired on Twitter, Bachelor Nation quickly pounced,
- 32:06Speaker 1: rushing to point out the worthy cause our work benefited.
- 32:11Speaker 1: He was on cameo at the time, doing videos just
- 32:13Speaker 1: for charity. Um it was for the New York Giants
- 32:16Speaker 1: wide receiver Alex Bachman's um charity. So you know, even
- 32:21Speaker 1: despite that tip, he had said, like, you know, hey,
- 32:25Speaker 1: well we'll maybe meet and will ignore the fact that
- 32:28Speaker 1: this drama ever happened. But he says because it became
- 32:32Speaker 1: The Bachelor, he still never met Claire. They've never spoken.
- 32:37Speaker 1: And about you know that comment, he recently said, I
- 32:42Speaker 1: had nothing to say when I saw that comment. I
- 32:45Speaker 1: was just like, dang, that's crazy. I was in shock.
- 32:47Speaker 1: I was at a loss for words when I saw that. Well,
- 32:54Speaker 1: I still remember that time, and I still remember that
- 32:56Speaker 1: being the headline. It was a big deal. It was
- 32:59Speaker 1: a big deal that he wasn't on the season. It
- 33:01Speaker 1: was a big deal that he was going on that season.
- 33:04Speaker 1: So actually that's all the headlines we have for you today.
- 33:07Speaker 1: There's some big headlines, some very exciting headlines. Again, please
- 33:10Speaker 1: tune in because we have a very special episode dropping
