- 0:09SPEAKER_02: Hello and welcome to Backstage at the EPC.
- 0:12SPEAKER_02: Today I'm chatting with Tammy Prepst and Erin Hershey from HSHS St.
- 0:17SPEAKER_02: Anthony's Women's Health Showcase.
- 0:20SPEAKER_02: Welcome, Tammy and Erin.
- 0:21SPEAKER_02: Thank you.
- 0:22SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
- 0:22SPEAKER_01: We're excited to be here.
- 0:23SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so um we'll start with Tammy.
- 0:26SPEAKER_02: Tammy, what do you do with the hospital?
- 0:30SPEAKER_03: Well, I am the manager of uh rehab in wellness.
- 0:34SPEAKER_03: So I have several departments.
- 0:36SPEAKER_03: So I have outpatient therapy at the Workman Sports Complex.
- 0:39SPEAKER_03: I have inpatient at the hospital.
- 0:41SPEAKER_03: Um I'm also the manager for the Center of Pediatric Therapy that we just opened in August.
- 0:46SPEAKER_03: Um I'm also the manager of therapy at Good Shepherd Hospital in Shelbyville, an outpatient and inpatient, and our satellite clinic in Altamont.
- 0:55SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh.
- 0:55SPEAKER_02: So you unplug a lot of hats.
- 0:58SPEAKER_02: That's a lot of hats.
- 0:59SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh.
- 1:01SPEAKER_01: But you know.
- 1:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:02SPEAKER_02: So so Aaron Hershey.
- 1:04SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:05SPEAKER_02: What are you what is your role?
- 1:06SPEAKER_01: Well, it does actually does not sound as exciting as that.
- 1:09SPEAKER_01: But I'm uh the executive assistant in administration.
- 1:12SPEAKER_01: So um I assist the senior leadership team and uh provide governance support to the board of directors.
- 1:17SPEAKER_01: So it's kind of any every day I'm doing something different.
- 1:19SPEAKER_01: I never know one day I'm gonna end up on a podcast, who knows?
- 1:23SPEAKER_01: So it's just like it keeps you guessing, and I love it.
- 1:25SPEAKER_01: And I've been there.
- 1:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah, been here for five years, so it's just uh always something new and different, and something new to tackle.
- 1:32SPEAKER_02: So yeah so you guys are here today to talk about um an upcoming event that you guys are having here at the Effingham Performance Center.
- 1:40SPEAKER_02: Um, it is women's wellness showcase.
- 1:44SPEAKER_02: Correct.
- 1:45SPEAKER_02: So, how long have you guys been involved with with this event?
- 1:50SPEAKER_02: Because this is the fifth year, correct.
- 1:52SPEAKER_03: So this is the fifth year for this type of event.
- 1:54SPEAKER_03: So prior to COVID, we had a showcase, but it was like 180% completely different.
- 2:02SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 2:02SPEAKER_03: So after COVID happened and the world got back to being normal, we all kind of sat down and we were like, okay, we really need to start talking about, you know, what we offer to um the community and to Effingham County.
- 2:16SPEAKER_03: So we started this and it kind of just blossomed.
- 2:19SPEAKER_03: And you know, my my co-chair here, she's been amazing.
- 2:22SPEAKER_03: I couldn't have done this without her.
- 2:24SPEAKER_03: She's always the one that I I'm always emailing, asking for suggestions.
- 2:28SPEAKER_03: Um we started this, so this would have been in 2011.
- 2:33SPEAKER_03: 21 was our first one.
- 2:35SPEAKER_03: And so when we sat down and we talked about how we're gonna showcase HSHS to the community and get everyone involved from, you know, young age to you know your senior population.
- 2:46SPEAKER_03: And we're like, we're gonna have this, you know, we started at the Keller Convention Center, yeah, and they were amazing, gracious hosts.
- 2:53SPEAKER_03: You know, Patty was amazing over there, and she was very much instrumental in helping us our first year because we were trying to figure out how to do this, and so um our goal, I think our first year was just to get as many people as we could.
- 3:08SPEAKER_01: We didn't really have a goal, I really don't think it was just well we didn't know what to expect because we were just starting from after having a huge break, and we kind of did reimagine the whole thing into more of what we wanted it to be.
- 3:20SPEAKER_01: And you know, it it was just so much more about like just showcasing women's health, but also what can what we do for the community and just getting to know a little bit more about um the services we provide because there's a you know, there's a lot that people just think, oh, you go there when you're sick, when it's a hospital.
- 3:36SPEAKER_01: It's like we're there's so much more to the hospital than that.
- 3:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so it's just um how we can arm the women who actually do make a lot of the healthcare decisions for the family.
- 3:47SPEAKER_01: How can we arm them with this this information that hey, you can stay here, stay local, you know, uh for like first class care.
- 3:55SPEAKER_01: So, you know, I'm I I'm a mom with two small kids and I'm constantly like having to like I just had to drive to Springfield for a special dentist for my kid, you know, and I would have loved if I would have known, oh, there's someone here in Effingham that can do that.
- 4:09SPEAKER_01: But um, so it's just arming women primarily in this community of what we can do for your family that you're not driving to Springfield, you're not driving to St.
- 4:18SPEAKER_01: Louis.
- 4:18SPEAKER_02: There's so many of us that are our parents, yeah, and so on on top of needing to know what's available for our family, we're at the point where it's like, let's talk about women's health as well.
- 4:33SPEAKER_02: Like we get kind of we push ourselves to the back burner all the time.
- 4:39SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 4:39SPEAKER_03: So I'm on the other end of the spectrum with Erin.
- 4:42SPEAKER_03: So, you know, my kids are grown and you know, pretty much out of the house.
- 4:45SPEAKER_03: And so her needs might be different from my needs when it comes to women's health care.
- 4:50SPEAKER_03: And so when we decided that we were gonna have the showcase, we're like, let's make it fun, let's make it a party, let's let's you know, let's let's do something with all of our friends.
- 4:58SPEAKER_03: Let's so celebrate women.
- 5:00SPEAKER_03: Let's celebrate.
- 5:00SPEAKER_03: And so that's kind of how the whole idea came about.
- 5:03SPEAKER_01: Well, and also women on both ends, all ends of the spectrum, all women deserve a night out.
- 5:09SPEAKER_01: So of course that is what we're both really passionate about.
- 5:12SPEAKER_01: Of course.
- 5:12SPEAKER_01: A fun night with your friends is like key, you know.
- 5:16SPEAKER_01: So that's what we are really aiming for too.
- 5:18SPEAKER_01: Is educational, of course, and helpful for sure, but fun.
- 5:23SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 5:23SPEAKER_01: Definitely.
- 5:24SPEAKER_03: Yeah, so when we when we started the whole women's health showcase, we were like, okay, so how do we get the message out to all the women in the community?
- 5:32SPEAKER_03: So I'm trying to think, gosh, that was five years ago.
- 5:35SPEAKER_03: So that was our our first one, it was just pink, right?
- 5:39SPEAKER_03: And we were thinking about okay, how are we going to transition this into the next couple years?
- 5:43SPEAKER_03: So that's kind of we we started doing the movie themes.
- 5:46SPEAKER_03: So the first year was pink, uh, the next year was Breakfast at Tiffany's, which was probably my favorite.
- 5:53SPEAKER_03: It was classy, elegant, Dr.
- 5:55SPEAKER_03: Voyagean.
- 5:56SPEAKER_03: You know, he just rolled up the you know the cars from the 1940s.
- 5:59SPEAKER_03: Um, it was just uh that was a fun night.
- 6:02SPEAKER_03: So then the next year was uh legally blonde.
- 6:06SPEAKER_03: And then last year we did Clueless.
- 6:08SPEAKER_03: So kind of themes that I'll have to kind of deal with, you know, women and so forth.
- 6:12SPEAKER_03: And so this year we sat down and we're like, okay, so we've done this kind of the same theme, kind of the same venue, you know, for the last four years.
- 6:22SPEAKER_03: We all sat down with um administration and we're like, okay, how are we gonna like how are we gonna upgrade this?
- 6:28SPEAKER_03: You know, we gotta like do something different.
- 6:30SPEAKER_03: It's time, it's our fifth year, it's our fifth anniversary.
- 6:32SPEAKER_03: Yeah, let's do something special.
- 6:34SPEAKER_03: Yeah, something elegant and fun.
- 6:36SPEAKER_03: And so that's what brought us to the EPC.
- 6:38SPEAKER_03: So we're so excited about this event.
- 6:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and Tammy, she's really the visionary of this whole event, and she's you know, and I say this with all due respect, she's always trying to outdo herself.
- 6:50SPEAKER_01: I'm like, Tammy, we are not in competition with ourselves.
- 6:52SPEAKER_01: She's like, Yes, we are though.
- 6:53SPEAKER_00: We are.
- 6:54SPEAKER_01: So she's always dreaming of bigger, better.
- 6:57SPEAKER_01: How can we bring more women in?
- 6:59SPEAKER_01: How can we bring more vendors?
- 7:00SPEAKER_01: How can we fit more fun, more information?
- 7:03SPEAKER_01: And so she really is like, I'm I'm just her little cheerleader in the back, like telling her like.
- 7:10SPEAKER_01: We can do this, Tammy.
- 7:11SPEAKER_01: Keep going, keep dreaming.
- 7:12SPEAKER_01: We're behind you.
- 7:13SPEAKER_01: I'm you know, writing down everything you say.
- 7:15SPEAKER_01: So uh, you know, she casts a vision, I try to help her get there.
- 7:18SPEAKER_02: There is so much that goes into events.
- 7:21SPEAKER_02: Um, and unless you're kind of in that environment or or doing those things, you don't really understand like every last detail that you guys put into.
- 7:32SPEAKER_02: It's very detailed.
- 7:34SPEAKER_03: Yeah, very detailed.
- 7:34SPEAKER_03: And and that's the things that I think that makes our event is all the details.
- 7:38SPEAKER_03: Because every time that we have had an event, you know, the theme, the table decorations, uh, when you walked into the killer convention center, it looked like the movie.
- 7:49SPEAKER_03: Um, and then the actual, you know, you walk in and you know, you talk about behind the scenes.
- 7:54SPEAKER_03: It's like the day before, it's like, you know, you block our whole county.
- 7:57SPEAKER_03: It's like everybody, yeah, I need hands-on.
- 7:59SPEAKER_03: Yes, I need you here, you know, and everybody has a task, you know, that that day the day before.
- 8:04SPEAKER_03: And so, you know, I have my list, and I'm like, okay, you're here, you're here, you're doing this.
- 8:08SPEAKER_03: Don't forget, I need this, you know.
- 8:10SPEAKER_03: Um, and so that day before, I'm probably a little like a bridezilla the day before.
- 8:16SPEAKER_03: Because they're like, you are like no, I wouldn't say that at all.
- 8:22SPEAKER_02: They aren't scared of you at all.
- 8:24SPEAKER_03: No, you're totally chill.
- 8:26SPEAKER_03: Not the day before.
- 8:27SPEAKER_03: The day of, I'm just like, it's just gonna happen the way it's gonna happen, and it's that's how the chips are gonna fall.
- 8:32SPEAKER_02: We're that way the week before we have like interactive movies and and things like that.
- 8:36SPEAKER_02: Sheila and I, we always joke, like, you know, we start out the beginning of the week, fine, we're like married, we're we're good, and then we're like, you know, shouting at each other that we're gonna, we're we're divorced today.
- 8:49SPEAKER_02: Like, don't don't come by me, like we're done with it.
- 8:51SPEAKER_02: It does, it takes so much to go into it.
- 8:54SPEAKER_02: So is it it is it fun and exciting, but yes, like this year is going to be challenging because it is a new space and trying to figure things out, or do you feel like it's kind of falling into place?
- 9:07SPEAKER_02: It's it's really falling into place.
- 9:09SPEAKER_03: I just said right before we started filming, I said, I haven't done anything with this for like in the last two weeks.
- 9:14SPEAKER_03: I mean, I really haven't done anything.
- 9:16SPEAKER_03: I'm like, everything is just falling into place.
- 9:18SPEAKER_03: All the vendors have been awesome to deal with, they're all emailing me, telling me what they need.
- 9:23SPEAKER_03: Um, and I'm like, I'm not really having to, well, make 60 table decorations.
- 9:29SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 9:29SPEAKER_01: And I think the change of venues really simplifying things a lot.
- 9:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you guys have taken a lot off our place.
- 9:34SPEAKER_01: Oh, a lot.
- 9:34SPEAKER_01: The ticket sales alone is just such a dream.
- 9:40SPEAKER_01: Such a dream.
- 9:40SPEAKER_01: Can never go back.
- 9:42SPEAKER_01: Can never go back.
- 9:43SPEAKER_01: But um, yeah, it's just it's just so crazy because it's like for us on our end, like you heard what we do at the hospital, like we have a primary job.
- 9:51SPEAKER_01: So this is kind of like a secondary like passion of ours and something we're interested in and wanting to do.
- 9:58SPEAKER_01: But we have like a primary job that we're responsible for that keeps us really busy, is a full-time job in and of itself.
- 10:04SPEAKER_01: So we do we work on this showcase for months and months and months and months and months, and it's over in one night.
- 10:12SPEAKER_01: Well, I think we started in our first meeting was in May.
- 10:15SPEAKER_03: I usually do it about the third week of May, it's kind of like our kickoff meeting to get everybody my vision.
- 10:20SPEAKER_01: We have a debrief meeting in October after the event, and then it's we kick it off again.
- 10:24SPEAKER_02: Because you have to take the notes and stuff while it's fresh.
- 10:27SPEAKER_02: Yes, what did we like?
- 10:29SPEAKER_01: What didn't we like?
- 10:30SPEAKER_02: We always joke that, like, you know, people ask us the day of the event, like, oh my gosh, like, are you like nervous or whatever for for all of this to come together?
- 10:40SPEAKER_02: And it's like, no, this is what I've worked toward.
- 10:42SPEAKER_02: Like everything up until this point has been the hard part.
- 10:46SPEAKER_03: Today's when we get to see it all come together and people enjoying it and smiles and the even the wow, then you know, when they when they would walk into the the the ballroom or whatever at the convention center, it was like because I was stand at the door.
- 11:00SPEAKER_03: I'm I'm the one that always stood in the background.
- 11:02SPEAKER_03: I I wasn't involved with the speakers, you know.
- 11:05SPEAKER_03: I had somebody that was taking care of all the different departments, I guess you could say.
- 11:09SPEAKER_03: I stood in the back all night long just to make sure that everything was supposed to be going the way it was.
- 11:14SPEAKER_03: And it was the the coolest thing when somebody would walk in and they were just like what?
- 11:19SPEAKER_03: Or wow, this is like transformed women for all of us.
- 11:24SPEAKER_01: Yes, yeah.
- 11:25SPEAKER_01: Well, and it's really fun because when we do have have a theme, we encourage people to dress up, you know.
- 11:30SPEAKER_01: So like having women be excited about dressing up, and like, you know, like I bought a costume was the last time I ever bought a costume for myself, you know.
- 11:38SPEAKER_01: So it's like that's super fun too.
- 11:40SPEAKER_01: And it gives you an opportunity to be out with your girls and you're you're all getting ready together and you're you know doing stuff like that.
- 11:47SPEAKER_01: So like that's fun too, giving them something exciting to look forward to and to bring their girls to, and you know, to maybe wear something they're they wouldn't wear in their normal life, and maybe they will never wear it again, but they're gonna have the time of their life wearing it tonight.
- 12:01SPEAKER_01: So um, just it's a whole experience, which is what we were wanting to give them.
- 12:06SPEAKER_01: And so we're excited to do that again.
- 12:08SPEAKER_03: Yeah, this year is gonna be it's just gonna be this year, it's just so much.
- 12:11SPEAKER_03: Um, and since it's our fifth year, we were trying to think, do we go back to a movie theme?
- 12:15SPEAKER_03: Now we did have a movie theme that we promoted last year, um, and it was pretty in pink.
- 12:20SPEAKER_03: So we were gonna do the movie, but we've kind of elevated, we're still doing pretty in pink, quote, powerful and purpose.
- 12:27SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 12:27SPEAKER_03: So we kind of are playing off of the movie.
- 12:30SPEAKER_03: But not not the movie where you have to dress up, you know, from the movie cells.
- 12:34SPEAKER_03: We should still wear pink.
- 12:34SPEAKER_03: We're encouraging, yeah.
- 12:35SPEAKER_03: Everybody wear the pink, wear pink pink.
- 12:36SPEAKER_03: Wear the pink.
- 12:37SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 12:37SPEAKER_03: Obviously, we want to see a pink because there's a lot of things that are happening that night that involve pink.
- 12:43SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 12:43SPEAKER_03: So it's it's lots of things.
- 12:45SPEAKER_03: I'm sure we're gonna talk about that, but um, yeah, it's we're really excited because after doing a content.
- 12:54SPEAKER_03: We were kind of like, oh god, what are we gonna do?
- 12:57SPEAKER_03: It's just like okay, now we gotta start.
- 12:59SPEAKER_03: And then as soon as the EPC was like suggested, I was like, all we both perked up and we're like the wheels just started turning.
- 13:06SPEAKER_03: We're like, okay, this is gonna be awesome.
- 13:09SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 13:09SPEAKER_03: We're yeah.
- 13:10SPEAKER_02: So let's talk about, let's get into the event a little bit.
- 13:14SPEAKER_02: So the event is on.
- 13:16SPEAKER_02: Let me find my date here.
- 13:18SPEAKER_02: Or Thursday, October 15th.
- 13:21SPEAKER_02: There you go.
- 13:22SPEAKER_02: You guys have it drilled in, drilled in.
- 13:25SPEAKER_02: And it starts officially at seven o'clock, but there's all this pre-show, what are you guys calling it?
- 13:33SPEAKER_02: Pre-show fun.
- 13:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's doors open.
- 13:36SPEAKER_02: Doors open at five.
- 13:37SPEAKER_02: Yes, five.
- 13:38SPEAKER_02: So maybe let's like walk through when you like walk into the building, what's kind of your plan and which you can do.
- 13:46SPEAKER_02: Not all of them.
- 13:47SPEAKER_03: So when you walk in, WXCF will be there doing a live radio broadcast.
- 13:51SPEAKER_03: So we prepare maybe some you know interviewing and you know, some shout-outs and stuff like that.
- 13:56SPEAKER_03: So we're excited about Tanya and and whoever else she brings along.
- 14:00SPEAKER_03: So she's always a big proponent of the show too, because she's always there.
- 14:03SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 14:03SPEAKER_02: Well, I don't know if you know this, but she is also a very big supporter of the EPC.
- 14:07SPEAKER_02: So we like her too.
- 14:08SPEAKER_02: She's like, oh yeah, I'll just come here again.
- 14:10SPEAKER_02: It's fine.
- 14:11SPEAKER_03: So you'll be walking in, obviously.
- 14:13SPEAKER_03: Um, and then when you walk into the actual uh lobby itself, you're gonna see a whole sea and array of pink and gold.
- 14:21SPEAKER_03: So, of course, that's our theme this year.
- 14:23SPEAKER_03: So blushes, golds, more upscale, elegant.
- 14:26SPEAKER_03: So when you come in with your friends, um, you make your way into the door.
- 14:30SPEAKER_03: Do you want me to tell them all the things that they're doing?
- 14:32SPEAKER_03: All the things.
- 14:33SPEAKER_03: That's what I said.
- 14:33SPEAKER_03: Don't give away our secrets.
- 14:35SPEAKER_03: We have vendors, and we're gonna give shouts out to those vendors.
- 14:37SPEAKER_02: We can kind of do um so when you walk in, the first 600 guests will receive a um like custom gift from the bean stock.
- 14:49SPEAKER_03: Yes, and I'm not gonna tell you what it is.
- 14:50SPEAKER_03: Um, but she will have her heat press here, and you will go to her quote station, and um the gift that we're giving out to everyone is gonna be it's pretty special.
- 15:01SPEAKER_03: It does look really cool.
- 15:02SPEAKER_03: And she is going to personalize it for you.
- 15:04SPEAKER_03: Oh, so she'll be taking orders as you walk in.
- 15:07SPEAKER_03: Um But it's not unlimited, it's just for the first time.
- 15:10SPEAKER_03: So first 600.
- 15:11SPEAKER_03: So if you haven't got your tickets yet, we've sold almost 300 already.
- 15:14SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 15:14SPEAKER_03: So we've got 600 of these gifts to give out.
- 15:17SPEAKER_03: Um, so she will be there.
- 15:19SPEAKER_03: And then we also have um uh what do they what do women like most?
- 15:24SPEAKER_01: Shop.
- 15:25SPEAKER_01: Shopping, flowers, chocolate, food, food.
- 15:27SPEAKER_03: Yes, all that will be there.
- 15:29SPEAKER_03: So Blackbird Chocolates is gonna be there sampling their chocolates.
- 15:32SPEAKER_03: And available for purchase.
- 15:33SPEAKER_03: And available for purchase.
- 15:34SPEAKER_03: Don't forget your cash or your debit card.
- 15:36SPEAKER_03: So that's a big thing.
- 15:38SPEAKER_02: So um there was um permanent jewelry from Weber's from Weber's.
- 15:43SPEAKER_03: Yes, so they will be having some specials and uh showcasing some of their jewelry.
- 15:47SPEAKER_03: You can buy their permanent jewelry while you're here and they will fit you for those.
- 15:51SPEAKER_03: And do it right here.
- 15:52SPEAKER_03: And do it here.
- 15:52SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yes.
- 15:53SPEAKER_03: So that's exciting.
- 15:54SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and then we've got freakside blooms.
- 15:57SPEAKER_02: And she's she doesn't love flowers.
- 15:59SPEAKER_03: So you she will have uh um uh a variety of different types of flowers that you can create your own base and take home with you.
- 16:06SPEAKER_03: So make sure you bring your cash for that.
- 16:08SPEAKER_03: Um and she's gonna be doing some um prizes for us, also.
- 16:12SPEAKER_03: So all of them um we're so excited.
- 16:15SPEAKER_03: And then Jody Weymouth from Fear Nothing, she's gonna be showcasing some of her um literature and some resources for the community and the great things that she's done you know over the years for Fear Nothing.
- 16:28SPEAKER_02: So Fear Nothing is a um local organization, uh not-for-profit, and they you know raise awareness for cancer.
- 16:38SPEAKER_01: Cancer patients resources and support, you know, while they're going through their treatment.
- 16:41SPEAKER_01: So wonderful organization.
- 16:44SPEAKER_01: Yes, yeah.
- 16:45SPEAKER_02: So she'll be there that night to kind of talk about um their mission and yeah, educate community ways they can get involved.
- 16:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah, ways that if they need help, they can reach out.
- 16:54SPEAKER_01: So yeah.
- 16:54SPEAKER_02: That's awesome.
- 16:55SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 16:55SPEAKER_03: And then let's see, Lisa Paholki.
- 16:57SPEAKER_03: Yeah, Lisa Paholke from Lisa's Pastry Sensations.
- 17:00SPEAKER_03: So she's going to be um she's gonna be giving out samples of some of her sweets and selling.
- 17:06SPEAKER_03: And selling her stuff.
- 17:07SPEAKER_03: So I know she has like, she gets quite a few orders from us when she's there.
- 17:11SPEAKER_03: So people order like their cookie trays for Christmas.
- 17:14SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 17:14SPEAKER_03: And um, you know, she takes orders while she's there, and she's selling her her sweets, and she brings a ton.
- 17:22SPEAKER_03: So her stand itself is just amazing to look at.
- 17:24SPEAKER_03: So make sure you bring your cake.
- 17:26SPEAKER_03: I like that part.
- 17:26SPEAKER_02: That's the one that I'm gonna be hitting at for sure.
- 17:28SPEAKER_03: Because I know she does cake pops, cupcakes, cookies.
- 17:31SPEAKER_03: Um, oh my gosh.
- 17:32SPEAKER_03: What doesn't she do?
- 17:33SPEAKER_03: Yeah, lots of stuff.
- 17:34SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 17:34SPEAKER_03: Um, let's see.
- 17:35SPEAKER_03: Um, I'm trying to think, who else do I have on the phone?
- 17:38SPEAKER_02: So that'll be all in the main lobby.
- 17:41SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 17:41SPEAKER_02: I think I think we touched on is that all the vendors on all of them.
- 17:44SPEAKER_03: Okay, I want to make sure.
- 17:45SPEAKER_03: Um so as you make your way through the lobby itself, you're gonna see all these vendors.
- 17:51SPEAKER_03: And then we will have four different stations, two in the front, two in the back, like in the donor's lounge.
- 17:58SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 17:58SPEAKER_03: Um, of hors d'oeuvres and additional desserts.
- 18:01SPEAKER_03: So you're gonna pick up your tray.
- 18:02SPEAKER_03: You're welcome.
- 18:03SPEAKER_03: You're gonna you're gonna pick up your plate, um, you're gonna snack as you go along, um, as you're shopping, as you're talking with your girlfriends.
- 18:11SPEAKER_03: Yeah, you can pick up some hors d'oeuvres, and they are actually look really good from roads catering.
- 18:16SPEAKER_03: Oh.
- 18:17SPEAKER_03: And yes, and he's gonna have dessert stations there also.
- 18:20SPEAKER_03: So you're not gonna leave hungry.
- 18:22SPEAKER_03: So we're excited about that.
- 18:23SPEAKER_03: So, and then we'll also have the bar open so you can purchase spirits, um, water and coke, or water and sodas will be on uh HSHS.
- 18:32SPEAKER_03: Um, but if you're welcome.
- 18:34SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 18:35SPEAKER_03: If you want to purchase um a spirit of or a drink of some sort, the bar will be open for your pleasure.
- 18:40SPEAKER_03: Um, so that's all kind of in that area.
- 18:43SPEAKER_03: Now, as you wind your way back to the back hallway to the donor's lounge in the back, some people maybe have never been back there.
- 18:49SPEAKER_03: It's a really cool open space.
- 18:51SPEAKER_02: I'm I'm sure we'll have signage and everything to guide you that way.
- 18:55SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 18:56SPEAKER_02: The so the donor lounge is kind of a separate lounge that we have for our donors.
- 19:00SPEAKER_02: Um, it's a slightly smaller, but it's still kind of open, and um it's a great place for what you guys are gonna be using it for, which is like ask the expert, right?
- 19:12SPEAKER_02: Talk a little bit about that.
- 19:13SPEAKER_03: So, you know, I've noticed even in the last five years that nothing's off limits anymore, you know, and I think that is just amazing because if you think back to when I was, you know, 18, 20 years old, you know, some of those things you didn't talk about.
- 19:28SPEAKER_03: It was taboo, yeah.
- 19:29SPEAKER_03: It was like something that was like a secret, or you know, you went to your doctor and that was it.
- 19:32SPEAKER_03: Now it's like everybody talks about pelvic floor.
- 19:35SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 19:35SPEAKER_03: So um, I've got four pelvic floor therapists, and all of them will be there.
- 19:39SPEAKER_03: So we have a little secluded area that's called Ask the Expert.
- 19:42SPEAKER_03: So all of these girls will be uh manning that area, and it's gonna be this cute little we got pink chairs and the whole thing, so it's very comfortable.
- 19:50SPEAKER_03: You can go back there and talk about um everything and anything that we do with pelvic floor at HSH of St.
- 19:56SPEAKER_03: Andy's.
- 19:57SPEAKER_01: And I've I've had some friends who've gone through that and they're just like really nervous, very apprehensive about it.
- 20:03SPEAKER_01: But just the the ladies that we have doing this are just so passionate about it, they're so professional, they're so kind, they're so loving, um, that like everyone who's gone through it is just like it.
- 20:14SPEAKER_01: I had no reason to be scared.
- 20:15SPEAKER_01: Like I had no reason not to be scared.
- 20:17SPEAKER_02: My sister-in-law Caitlin um said camp, she's she does a lot of that, and she is she's just they're they do all of these special classes and courses, they're all learned like so educated about all of it.
- 20:31SPEAKER_02: Um but like you said, they're just so like compassionate and caring, and um they they really truly they make you feel comfortable, yeah.
- 20:42SPEAKER_03: So nothing's off limits anymore when you have those questions, I feel like, in this day and age, and I you know, and I think social media has a lot to do with that, obviously.
- 20:49SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and it's just because you're more educated, yeah, because you hear more about it, so you're like, oh well, I have that, I need to talk to somebody about it.
- 20:55SPEAKER_03: So I thought that was normal.
- 20:57SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I guess I should just live with that, and you know, you don't have to anymore.
- 21:00SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 21:00SPEAKER_03: And so we're very, very blessed that we have four wonderful therapists that do pelvic floor at St.
- 21:07SPEAKER_03: Anthony's Hospital.
- 21:08SPEAKER_02: So will this area be like more private, like one-on-one conversations?
- 21:14SPEAKER_03: There'll be like partitions and so we'll have it all set up to where it's like a lounge area.
- 21:19SPEAKER_03: You're gonna go in there, you're gonna find yourself this, you know, nice place to sit.
- 21:23SPEAKER_03: There's gonna be, you know, um, the girls will be around there.
- 21:26SPEAKER_03: Um, it'll be more secluded in the little cup, the little cove that you've got in the back by the donor's lounge.
- 21:32SPEAKER_03: So we're gonna set that up so you can have a private conversation with a with a therapist.
- 21:36SPEAKER_03: So um and then also back there, yeah.
- 21:38SPEAKER_03: So then also back there, we're gonna have we are gonna have some high top tables back there, but that's what makes a really different venue this year from the last four years.
- 21:49SPEAKER_03: So we're really not gonna have a place for you to just sit and eat.
- 21:52SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 21:53SPEAKER_03: So years passed, you had to buy your tickets, a table of ten, you sat down, you had a plate of dinner.
- 21:58SPEAKER_03: Um over and over.
- 22:00SPEAKER_03: Over, we heard from the ladies, we want more girl time.
- 22:03SPEAKER_03: And we want more time to talk.
- 22:04SPEAKER_03: We want less structure.
- 22:05SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 22:05SPEAKER_03: And I'm like, okay, we're giving it to you this year.
- 22:08SPEAKER_03: Yes, we got it.
- 22:08SPEAKER_03: We got it.
- 22:09SPEAKER_03: We got it.
- 22:09SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 22:10SPEAKER_03: So this is a time for you to take your plate and your goodies and all that kind of stuff.
- 22:14SPEAKER_03: And you can come into the auditorium.
- 22:16SPEAKER_03: Find your place.
- 22:17SPEAKER_03: Find your place that you want to sit, hang out in here.
- 22:19SPEAKER_03: You can eat, you can drink.
- 22:20SPEAKER_03: Um, you can still mingle around in the lobby area or the very um the very front part.
- 22:26SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 22:26SPEAKER_03: Um, so it's gonna be just so much different than last year.
- 22:30SPEAKER_03: Very relaxed.
- 22:31SPEAKER_01: There's no agenda, there's no passport, there's no, you know, it's it's very relaxed and just focused on the just come enjoy the things.
- 22:38SPEAKER_03: Yes, so for the last thing enjoy the accompanying and so for the last four years, we were trying to think of like we've got all these different departments at the hospital that um, you know, have women in mind somewhere, somehow.
- 22:50SPEAKER_03: And so we had an area the last four years where you had to go through, get your tickets to put in, you know, you went through all these booths, and you know, we've heard over and over, you know, there's so many people back there, we don't even get a listen to what they have to say because we're being ushered out.
- 23:04SPEAKER_03: And um, you know, we did to get our tickets for the prizes, and we'll talk about the prizes because we got some amazing prizes this year.
- 23:10SPEAKER_03: That's right here, yes.
- 23:11SPEAKER_03: And so this year you're just gonna come in, you're gonna get one ticket, you're gonna put it in the prize bucket, and that's it.
- 23:15SPEAKER_02: So that's awesome.
- 23:17SPEAKER_03: You will see our other departments, but it's gonna be in a way different um what's the word I'm looking for?
- 23:24SPEAKER_03: Presentation.
- 23:25SPEAKER_03: Presentation, yes.
- 23:26SPEAKER_03: And the presentation of the departments is it almost made me cry.
- 23:30SPEAKER_03: Super cool.
- 23:30SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 23:31SPEAKER_03: It gave me chills.
- 23:32SPEAKER_03: It gave me chills.
- 23:33SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 23:33SPEAKER_03: And so, um, and you're not gonna see or hear anything about those other departments until you actually come to the actual uh speaky speaking event here.
- 23:42SPEAKER_02: So, like we talked about, you come into the lobby, um, enjoy all of that stuff.
- 23:48SPEAKER_02: That's from five to seven.
- 23:50SPEAKER_02: And then the like you said, the stage presentation or like main event um is at seven o'clock.
- 23:58SPEAKER_02: Correct.
- 23:59SPEAKER_02: So they'll start making their way here.
- 24:00SPEAKER_02: Um, one thing we didn't talk about is it is general admission.
- 24:04SPEAKER_02: Yeah, correct.
- 24:05SPEAKER_02: So um I think there's you know, it's first come, first serve on on seating.
- 24:12SPEAKER_02: So kind of keep that in mind a little bit.
- 24:14SPEAKER_02: So if you know that you want to enjoy the lobby stuff, um leave yourself plenty of time.
- 24:20SPEAKER_01: Yes, exactly.
- 24:20SPEAKER_01: And what's so nice is in the past, um, you had to buy your tickets together in order to sit together.
- 24:26SPEAKER_01: But here, you it's all yeah, I I it it's so nice for me, who I've been responding to people inquiring about this.
- 24:33SPEAKER_01: I'm like, you come, you sit wherever you want.
- 24:36SPEAKER_01: You can sit with 15 of your friends this year instead of just whittling it down to you know, and people are trying to squeeze into the table and makes it super uncomfortable.
- 24:43SPEAKER_01: I'm like, it's all general admission.
- 24:44SPEAKER_01: You come sit with whoever you want.
- 24:46SPEAKER_02: Again, as women, yeah, we're our schedules are very busy.
- 24:50SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 24:51SPEAKER_02: And so to try and figure out a lot of them probably don't know till a little last minute that they can come.
- 24:58SPEAKER_03: They can come.
- 24:59SPEAKER_02: Um, so yeah, that's that's really nice.
- 25:01SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 25:02SPEAKER_02: So let's talk about the main event.
- 25:05SPEAKER_02: Um, so we have three people that will be on stage.
- 25:10SPEAKER_02: So I'll let you kind of talk about like, are you guys doing a little presentation before they're coming on stage?
- 25:18SPEAKER_01: So actually, again, Tammy, don't give away all our secrets.
- 25:21SPEAKER_01: No, for whatever.
- 25:23SPEAKER_03: You can say the first one.
- 25:24SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 25:25SPEAKER_03: So actually, there's gonna be four people on stage.
- 25:27SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 25:27SPEAKER_03: So Jamie Sting.
- 25:28SPEAKER_03: Oh, yes, yes, yes.
- 25:30SPEAKER_03: And so Jamie Sting is gonna be doing something for us that she's never done before for anybody.
- 25:35SPEAKER_03: So she's already texted me and she said I've practiced seven times already.
- 25:39SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh.
- 25:40SPEAKER_03: So, and it's something that she's making specifically for us, and one lucky winner is gonna take it home.
- 25:47SPEAKER_03: So, yes, and I'm gonna tell you what she's doing.
- 25:49SPEAKER_03: And I want the practice one.
- 25:51SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, I want the practice.
- 25:55SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 25:55SPEAKER_03: And so she's really, really excited about being here, and she's that's amazing.
- 26:00SPEAKER_03: And what she is doing for us is I think it's gonna make you cry.
- 26:03SPEAKER_03: So I'm really excited.
- 26:04SPEAKER_03: So you're gonna find your seat, the lights are gonna go out, Jamie's gonna be on stage, she's gonna do her thing, and then when she is finished, then that you're gonna hear a little more about HSHS.
- 26:15SPEAKER_03: So um, Anthony Powers, who is our CAO, our chief administrative officer, he's gonna come on stage, welcome everybody.
- 26:21SPEAKER_03: Jamie's setting up the tone for the night.
- 26:24SPEAKER_03: So he's gonna be coming in with all this.
- 26:28SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 26:29SPEAKER_03: No pressure, yeah.
- 26:31SPEAKER_03: So he's gonna, you know, he'll welcome everybody and so forth.
- 26:33SPEAKER_03: And so um, through the night, you'll see some of the HSHS admin on stage introducing the next person that's coming up on stage and maybe telling you a little bit about HSHS and so forth.
- 26:43SPEAKER_03: Um, and so um the panels itself.
- 26:46SPEAKER_03: So um obviously we're having two of two comedians.
- 26:51SPEAKER_03: Yes, and so uh Jesse Tuttle, he is a comedian out of Champagne, and he runs the comedy club out of Champagne.
- 26:59SPEAKER_02: The CEO.
- 26:59SPEAKER_02: Yeah, the Cody.
- 27:01SPEAKER_02: Yes, yeah.
- 27:01SPEAKER_03: And so he's actually gonna open up for the actual comedian.
- 27:05SPEAKER_03: Uh, he does this a lot.
- 27:06SPEAKER_03: He goes, I'll get everybody primed and ready to go and uh get ready for Kevin McCaffrey.
- 27:11SPEAKER_03: Kevin McCaffrey McCaffrey is our comedian for the night.
- 27:15SPEAKER_03: He made his debut on late night with David Letterman.
- 27:18SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh.
- 27:19SPEAKER_02: So he's not just some like local guy.
- 27:21SPEAKER_03: So he has been all over the place.
- 27:23SPEAKER_03: And um, I'm really excited to hear what he has to say because he he has a skit that he's gonna do, but then they asked me, what in his skit can we add?
- 27:34SPEAKER_03: So, you know, and some of the comments that we said is, you know, let's talk about from a man's point of view, childbirth because again, for women.
- 27:43SPEAKER_03: Oh, well, of course.
- 27:44SPEAKER_03: So I I feel like he's gonna have some fun things in there that you know that talks about all the things that happen to us from a man's perspective.
- 27:53SPEAKER_02: So that's fun.
- 27:54SPEAKER_02: I love that he's you know, gonna tie it all in and tie it all together.
- 27:58SPEAKER_02: Yes, yeah.
- 27:59SPEAKER_02: That's awesome.
- 28:00SPEAKER_03: So we're really excited about that to see what he has to say.
- 28:02SPEAKER_03: So I haven't seen his skit.
- 28:03SPEAKER_03: No, I probably won't see his skit, but you can go on YouTube and you can look him up, and he's got all kinds of skits from all over the place.
- 28:08SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 28:09SPEAKER_03: And he is pretty funny.
- 28:10SPEAKER_01: There'll be some fresh stuff for us.
- 28:11SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 28:12SPEAKER_03: So our um keynote speaker, Lori Kearns.
- 28:15SPEAKER_03: Yes, so that's that's who we're like super pumped about, is Lori Kearns.
- 28:19SPEAKER_03: She is from Newton, Illinois.
- 28:21SPEAKER_03: And shout out, yeah.
- 28:24SPEAKER_03: Shout out to Newton.
- 28:25SPEAKER_03: Um, my kids went to Newton High School.
- 28:27SPEAKER_03: Uh, and we still have the Bob Kearns, which is her dad, basketball tournament every single year.
- 28:32SPEAKER_03: So he's still kind of like a legend in Jasper County.
- 28:36SPEAKER_03: And so uh Lori actually has kind of been the kind of the face of Millican University for the last was it 30 years?
- 28:45SPEAKER_03: 32 years old.
- 28:47SPEAKER_03: Yeah, anyway.
- 28:48SPEAKER_03: So she's been their athletic director, she's been their basketball coach, she's won multiple uh championships over the years.
- 28:56SPEAKER_03: Um, and through this, she went through breast cancer.
- 28:58SPEAKER_03: So my gosh.
- 29:00SPEAKER_03: She is she is one lady that I cannot wait to be.
- 29:03SPEAKER_01: She's got some words of wisdom for us.
- 29:06SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 29:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it sounds like she's done a lot of things and been through a lot of things.
- 29:10SPEAKER_03: Yeah, so she is gonna be our keynote speaker for the night and kind of talk about resilience and you know why we're women and what we go through and what we can accomplish through everything that we do.
- 29:20SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and so we're excited to hear her her message.
- 29:24SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 29:25SPEAKER_03: So, yeah, so that's kind of the night.
- 29:27SPEAKER_01: You're gonna come, you're gonna eat, you're gonna buy some delicious things and beautiful things, and then you're gonna laugh and be inspired.
- 29:33SPEAKER_01: So probably cry.
- 29:34SPEAKER_01: And learn some things.
- 29:35SPEAKER_01: So I can't think of a better way to spend your Thursday, October 15th.
- 29:38SPEAKER_01: For only$20.
- 29:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 29:39SPEAKER_03: I'm like, where do you go for$20 and you get all of it?
- 29:41SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 29:42SPEAKER_03: You know, and a personalized gift.
- 29:43SPEAKER_03: And a personalized gift, yes.
- 29:44SPEAKER_03: And so also we forgot to say that we will be introducing, we have two new surgeons that just started.
- 29:49SPEAKER_03: Who are women.
- 29:50SPEAKER_03: Who are women.
- 29:51SPEAKER_03: Oh my gosh.
- 29:51SPEAKER_03: And so we're gonna bring bring be bringing them up on the stage, introducing them, kind of talking about um the types of general surgery that they do at HSHS St.
- 30:00SPEAKER_03: Anthony's Hospital.
- 30:01SPEAKER_03: So Dr.
- 30:01SPEAKER_03: Boyajan will be up on stage introducing the our new surgeons, and uh we're really excited about it.
- 30:07SPEAKER_03: Talk about girl power.
- 30:08SPEAKER_03: Yeah, what a way to like again wrap it all together.
- 30:12SPEAKER_03: Yeah, we're super excited.
- 30:13SPEAKER_03: And uh I think they're gonna be a little overwhelmed because they just they just started.
- 30:17SPEAKER_03: They just started.
- 30:18SPEAKER_03: And I'm like, hey.
- 30:19SPEAKER_02: Like, oh, you guys are having this huge event.
- 30:21SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and we want you on stage.
- 30:23SPEAKER_03: Yeah, please.
- 30:24SPEAKER_03: We go big.
- 30:25SPEAKER_03: Yeah, we go big.
- 30:25SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 30:26SPEAKER_03: So the last two years we have cut off, we had to cut off the admission at 600.
- 30:31SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 30:32SPEAKER_03: So uh the fire marshal was like, no more.
- 30:35SPEAKER_03: No more.
- 30:35SPEAKER_03: That's all they can have is the room.
- 30:36SPEAKER_03: It wasn't comfy either.
- 30:37SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 30:38SPEAKER_03: We have like 11, 12 people at your table.
- 30:40SPEAKER_03: It was it was too much.
- 30:41SPEAKER_03: Here we go.
- 30:42SPEAKER_03: Well, we have a little more room.
- 30:43SPEAKER_03: Yes, yeah.
- 30:44SPEAKER_03: So we're not stopping at 600.
- 30:46SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 30:46SPEAKER_03: So if we need 800, we're good for that.
- 30:48SPEAKER_03: We're good with that.
- 30:49SPEAKER_02: We yeah, we need you guys to buy the tickets, come and enjoy.
- 30:53SPEAKER_02: You can buy tickets through our box office Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m.
- 30:57SPEAKER_02: to 2 p.m.
- 30:58SPEAKER_02: Um on show days, 10 a.m.
- 31:00SPEAKER_02: to show time.
- 31:01SPEAKER_02: And then you can also go on our website, theepc.org, um, click on the schedule and find it, and there's a direct link to tickets, or you can go to ticketmaster.com slash epc.
- 31:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 31:13SPEAKER_03: We will probably cut our ticket sales off a week before because we have to have a headcount for food for food and for gifts and all that kind of stuff for the vendors.
- 31:23SPEAKER_02: Don't wait to get tickets.
- 31:24SPEAKER_02: Yes, get them now.
- 31:25SPEAKER_03: Get them now.
- 31:25SPEAKER_03: I actually had a lady call me yesterday, she says, I need 12 tickets.
- 31:28SPEAKER_03: Yes, and I said, Okay.
- 31:30SPEAKER_03: And so I walked her through.
- 31:32SPEAKER_03: Actually, she was gonna come here to get the 12 tickets because it'd be easier for her to just hand them out to her friends instead of transferring them.
- 31:39SPEAKER_02: That's the nice thing about coming into the box office.
- 31:41SPEAKER_02: You get the physical tickets.
