• 0:54
  SPEAKER_05: Glad to be here.
• 0:55
SPEAKER_05: Gentlemen, the last time that we sat down, I was told this impeachment was going to drag on for weeks.
• 1:01
SPEAKER_05: We were going to get witnesses.
• 1:02
SPEAKER_05: We were going to get Bolton.
• 1:03
SPEAKER_05: We were going to get Hunter Biden.
• 1:04
SPEAKER_05: This was going to get long and ugly.
• 1:06
  SPEAKER_05: I go to sleep.
• 1:07
SPEAKER_05: I wake up today, and the senators are voting.
• 1:11
  SPEAKER_05: No more witnesses.
• 1:12
SPEAKER_04: This thing could be over next week.
• 1:13
  SPEAKER_04: Senator Cruz, what happened?
• 1:15
SPEAKER_04: Well, today was a big day, and let me say, Lindsay, thank you.
• 1:18
  SPEAKER_04: Welcome.
• 1:19
  SPEAKER_04: I appreciate your coming.
• 1:20
SPEAKER_04: This is late at night.
• 1:21
SPEAKER_04: We spent all day all day in the Senate.
• 2:07
SPEAKER_10: There are 296 ships in the Navy today.
• 2:10
  SPEAKER_10: Under this budget, by 2025, there'll be 286.
• 2:14
SPEAKER_10: If we continue with the Biden budget, they'll be 290.
• 2:17
SPEAKER_10: The Chinese Navy today is 340.
• 2:21
  SPEAKER_10: By 2025, they'll have 400.
• 2:23
  SPEAKER_10: By 2030, they'll have 440.
• 2:26
SPEAKER_10: This budget locks in a smaller U.S.
• 2:28
SPEAKER_10: Navy at a time the Chinese Navy is growing dramatically.
• 2:33
SPEAKER_10: There's not a penny in this budget to help beat Putin.
• 2:38
SPEAKER_10: The Navy is smaller, the Army is smaller, the Marine Corps is smaller.
• 2:43
  SPEAKER_10: This is not a threat-based budget.
• 2:45
SPEAKER_10: This is a budget of political compromise where people have lost sight of what the country needs.
• 2:51
SPEAKER_10: We need safety and security.
• 2:53
SPEAKER_10: To my House colleagues, I can't believe you did this.
• 2:58
SPEAKER_10: To the speaker, I know you got a tough job.
• 3:02
  SPEAKER_10: I like you.
• 3:03
SPEAKER_10: But the party of Ronald Reagan is dying.
• 3:07
SPEAKER_10: Don't tell me that a defense budget that's$42 billion below inflation fully funds the military.
• 3:16
SPEAKER_10: Don't tell me that we can confront and challenge China.
• 3:20
SPEAKER_10: Everybody in this body is patting themselves on the back that we see China as the most existential threat to America.
• 3:27
  SPEAKER_10: You are right.
• 3:28
SPEAKER_10: We did the CHIPS Act.
• 3:30
SPEAKER_10: We're doing things to help our economy combat China.
• 3:33
SPEAKER_10: At the moment of decision, when it came to the military, this budget is a win for China.
• 3:40
SPEAKER_10: Please don't go home and say this is fully funded because it is not.
• 3:44
SPEAKER_10: Please stop talking about confronting China when you're dismounting the American Navy.
• 3:50
  SPEAKER_10: How does this end?
• 3:52
  SPEAKER_10: Senator Cotton's right.
• 3:54
SPEAKER_10: We'll be here to Tuesday until I get commitments that we're going to rectify some of these problems.
• 4:04
  SPEAKER_23: Well, welcome everybody.
• 4:05
SPEAKER_23: This is Randall Walsh, your host for the Randall Walsh Presents Podcast.
• 4:08
SPEAKER_23: And this is our fifth installment and our final one for our look back this at the last week of things here with to do with Senator Lindsey Graham and his passing.
• 4:18
SPEAKER_23: His historic place in the history of not only South Carolina, but in the nation.
• 4:22
SPEAKER_23: He uh is without peer, probably.
• 4:26
SPEAKER_23: Um I think he's gonna have a huge uh uh place in the history of the twenty-first century when they write it about the United States Senate and the country and and where he helps President Trump uh help lead him in the right directions.
• 4:39
SPEAKER_23: And and and that same is true for his work uh with President Bush earlier in his terms.
• 4:45
SPEAKER_23: Um this episode's gonna we're gonna hear from him a lot more as we listen to him talk about a various number of issues and relive one of his big moments uh when the Kavanaugh hearing happened.
• 4:56
SPEAKER_23: So here we go in the part five of Lindsey Graham, our senator, a tribute.
• 5:05
SPEAKER_06: Fox News alert Washington lost one of their fiercest voices.
• 5:09
SPEAKER_06: South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham passed away at 71.
• 5:14
SPEAKER_06: He died suddenly in his home Saturday night.
• 5:16
SPEAKER_06: He was reportedly alone, called his scheduler, complained of chest pains.
• 5:21
SPEAKER_06: She placed the call to 911, police arrived, the door was locked, and they had to force entry.
• 5:28
SPEAKER_06: The medical examiner's preliminary investigation determined that his main artery gave out.
• 5:34
SPEAKER_06: He'd just come back from Ukraine that same day.
• 5:37
SPEAKER_06: It was his tenth trip there.
• 5:39
SPEAKER_06: He'd met with Zelensky, arming Ukraine to the teeth and sanctioning Russia, top of the agenda.
• 5:46
SPEAKER_06: I've never been more optimistic than I am today.
• 5:50
SPEAKER_10: That we have the formula to end this war.
• 5:53
SPEAKER_06: Help Ukraine be more lethal.
• 5:56
SPEAKER_06: So far, no signs of foul play.
• 5:58
SPEAKER_06: His father died of a heart attack at 69.
• 6:01
SPEAKER_06: Still, even the Wall Street Journal's editorial page says given every threat this man took over the years, we're owed a full autopsy and toxicology report.
• 6:12
  SPEAKER_06: Senator Cornyn agrees.
• 6:14
SPEAKER_13: Given where he was and the sorts of things he was advocating for, I think uh we just ought to resolve all those questions by uh saying what the toxicology reports show.
• 6:25
SPEAKER_13: You're concerned he was poisoned, Lindsey Graham, or as a precaution?
• 6:29
SPEAKER_13: I'm just saying he needs a toxicology test to rule out any foul play.
• 6:35
SPEAKER_06: We'll know more in the coming weeks.
• 6:37
SPEAKER_06: But one thing's not in question Lindsey Graham was a force to be reckoned with.
• 6:42
SPEAKER_06: He was a skilled politician, a Washington creature, a smooth operator, and a ferocious defense hawk.
• 6:49
SPEAKER_06: He was also President Trump's closest ally and advisor in the Senate.
• 6:53
SPEAKER_06: Lindsay came along the way.
• 6:55
SPEAKER_06: He grew up in a one-bedroom apartment behind his family's pool hall.
• 7:00
SPEAKER_28: It could not be more small town and more humble when it comes to how he was brought up.
• 7:06
SPEAKER_28: This room was not your bedroom.
• 7:09
  SPEAKER_28: It wasn't your brother Lindsay's bedroom.
• 7:11
SPEAKER_28: It wasn't your parents' bedroom.
• 7:12
  SPEAKER_28: It was the room.
• 7:14
SPEAKER_18: It was the one room where we all slept, we all ate, we watched TV, the sofa, everything was in the one room.
• 7:22
SPEAKER_06: As a kid, he had the run of the place: sneaking beer and cigarettes, going hunting and fishing with the customers.
• 7:28
SPEAKER_06: He had a wicked sense of humor.
• 7:30
SPEAKER_06: He even gave him a nickname, Stinkball.
• 7:33
SPEAKER_06: His parents died when he was in college, and he had to take care of his sister.
• 7:37
  SPEAKER_06: More on that later.
• 7:39
SPEAKER_06: She was only 13 at the time, and he legally adopted her.
• 7:44
SPEAKER_06: He joined the Air Force and raised her alone.
• 7:47
SPEAKER_10: You're very close with your sister Darlene, correct?
• 7:49
  SPEAKER_10: Yes, I am.
• 7:50
SPEAKER_10: So of all the things that have happened in my life, her turning out so well is the highlight of it.
• 7:55
SPEAKER_06: Graham spent 33 years in the Air Force, retiring as colonel and earning a bronze star.
• 8:01
SPEAKER_06: Graham was a McCain guy.
• 8:03
SPEAKER_06: So when Trump came along, it wasn't pretty.
• 8:06
SPEAKER_06: They actually ran for president against each other in 2016.
• 8:10
SPEAKER_17: So Lindsay Graham says to me, please, please, whatever you can do.
• 8:16
SPEAKER_17: You know what I'm saying?
• 8:17
  SPEAKER_17: What's this guy?
• 8:18
  SPEAKER_17: Beggar?
• 8:18
SPEAKER_17: He's like begging me to help him with Fox and France.
• 8:21
SPEAKER_17: So I say, okay, and I'll mention your name.
• 8:24
SPEAKER_17: He said, Could you mention my name?
• 8:26
  SPEAKER_17: I said, yes, I'll make it.
• 8:27
SPEAKER_17: And he gave me his number.
• 8:28
SPEAKER_17: And I found the card.
• 8:31
SPEAKER_17: I wrote the number down.
• 8:32
  SPEAKER_17: I don't know if it's the right number.
• 8:33
  SPEAKER_17: Let's try it.
• 8:34
  SPEAKER_17: 202.
• 8:36
  SPEAKER_17: 22802.
• 8:39
  SPEAKER_17: I don't know.
• 8:39
SPEAKER_17: Maybe it's, you know, it's three, four years ago, so maybe it's an old number.
• 8:43
  SPEAKER_17: Lindsay didn't sulk.
• 8:45
  SPEAKER_17: He laughed.
• 9:19
SPEAKER_06: Yeah, they got off to a little bit of a shaky start, but became partners.
• 9:22
SPEAKER_06: Lindsay was the connective tissue between Trump and the Senate, even between Republicans and Democrats.
• 9:29
SPEAKER_06: He was on the phone with Trump constantly.
• 9:31
  SPEAKER_06: They golfed a lot.
• 9:33
SPEAKER_06: Lindsay helped bridge factions with the president, between Hawks and Doves, the establishment and MAGA.
• 9:40
SPEAKER_06: Graham actually helped the big, beautiful bill get through the Senate.
• 9:44
SPEAKER_06: One of the most memorable moments was Senator Graham standing by Kavanaugh, who'd come under despicable attacks by Judiciary Committee Democrats.
• 9:54
SPEAKER_10: If you wanted an FBI investigation, you could have come to us.
• 9:58
SPEAKER_10: What you want to do is destroy this guy's life, hold this seat open, and hope you win in 2020.
• 10:05
  SPEAKER_10: You've said that.
• 10:06
SPEAKER_10: You've got nothing to apologize for.
• 10:10
SPEAKER_10: When you see Sodermeyer and Kagan, tell them that Lindsay said all.
• 10:19
SPEAKER_10: This is the most unethical sham since I've been in politics.
• 10:26
SPEAKER_06: Lindsay was also chair of the Senate Budget Committee and was working on another round of tax cuts when he passed.
• 10:33
SPEAKER_06: And he never cashed in, like many others.
• 10:36
SPEAKER_06: Graham had one of the lowest net worths in Congress.
• 10:39
SPEAKER_06: He was a gunslinger, no doubt about it.
• 10:42
SPEAKER_06: The guy wanted our enemy's heads on a platter.
• 10:45
SPEAKER_06: He wasn't always right, but you need guys like that in Washington for balance.
• 10:49
SPEAKER_06: You need the push and the pull.
• 10:51
SPEAKER_06: There are a lot of Americans who want to see the United States flex our muscle, and he represented them.
• 10:57
SPEAKER_06: A lot of liberals hated Lindsey Graham, but the ones who worked with him really liked him.
• 11:05
SPEAKER_22: Lindsey Graham was like an unguided missile.
• 11:08
SPEAKER_22: That God, you never knew which way he was going to go, whether he would come back and hit you.
• 11:13
SPEAKER_22: But when he was aligned, when he would be in the right place at the right time, man, he could get things done that other people couldn't and bring a lot of light and new possibilities to the efforts.
• 11:25
SPEAKER_22: I will miss my perhaps most unexpected friend in the Senate.
• 11:30
SPEAKER_06: Not everybody was as classy as Corey.
• 11:33
SPEAKER_06: Just like after Charlie got shot, ghouls came out to dance on his grave.
• 11:39
SPEAKER_20: Honestly, I felt like I had buried Lindsay when John McCain died.
• 11:43
SPEAKER_26: Lindsey Graham sold his soul to Donald Trump to get a war with Iran and died knowing how badly Donald Trump had f ⁇ ed it up.
• 11:50
SPEAKER_26: For people looking for some like karmic comfort in this, there you go.
• 11:55
SPEAKER_02: I'm not gonna do it.
• 11:56
SPEAKER_02: I'm not gonna stand here and pretend that Senator Lindsey Graham was a great and honorable man just because he's dead, because he wasn't.
• 12:03
SPEAKER_02: Lindsey Graham was a miserable, evil warmonger with no principles.
• 12:09
  SPEAKER_06: Lindsey's gone.
• 12:10
SPEAKER_06: So what does it mean for you?
• 12:12
  SPEAKER_06: A lot.
• 12:13
SPEAKER_06: He was the key player in passing America's budget.
• 12:17
SPEAKER_06: Pentagon spending, Ukraine, Iran, China policy, the war against the cartels.
• 12:23
SPEAKER_06: And if there's ever a Supreme Court opening soon, you're gonna miss Lindsay.
• 12:30
SPEAKER_06: Not to mention Mitch McConnell's been out of Kimesh for weeks.
• 12:33
SPEAKER_06: He'd fallen, lost consciousness, and caught pneumonia.
• 12:36
SPEAKER_06: So Republicans are already down two in the Senate, plus a few more if you count lame ducks.
• 12:42
SPEAKER_06: Trump wants to put in Jay Clayton as Director of National Intelligence in place of Tulsi.
• 12:47
SPEAKER_06: Blanche added justice to fill Bondy's shoes, and Graham was up for re-election in November.
• 12:53
SPEAKER_06: The president asked the governor of South Carolina to appoint Lindsay's sister, Darlene, to serve out the rest of the term until January.
• 13:02
SPEAKER_19: Lindsay has always been there for me, and now I will be there for him.
• 13:08
SPEAKER_19: I know Lindsay thought the world of his staff and colleagues, and with their support, I feel confident.
• 13:16
SPEAKER_19: I think this is what Lindsay would have wanted, and I plan to honor him in this way.
• 13:23
SPEAKER_19: Now to Lindsay, I miss you more than I can even put into words.
• 13:30
SPEAKER_19: But I'm gonna do this.
• 13:32
  SPEAKER_19: I got it.
• 13:34
SPEAKER_06: Turns out he'd already made the case himself.
• 13:37
SPEAKER_09: If she took a roll on, she would be a great representative of our country.
• 13:42
SPEAKER_09: I can't think of a better person uh to represent our country in an event than my sister.
• 13:48
SPEAKER_06: The Republicans are gonna have to redo their primary in South Carolina and nominate a candidate to run in November.
• 13:54
SPEAKER_06: We're hearing names like Nancy Mace, Trey Gowdy, a lot of names in the mix.
• 13:59
SPEAKER_06: But Lindsay was working on big things before he died.
• 14:02
SPEAKER_06: He'd been quietly brokering an Israeli Saudi deal till the very end.
• 14:07
SPEAKER_06: Literally, peace in the Middle East, the ultimate Abraham Accords.
• 14:12
SPEAKER_06: He was working the phones up until the last minute.
• 14:15
SPEAKER_06: Even spoke to the president just hours before he died.
• 14:20
SPEAKER_16: But he sounded great, actually.
• 14:21
SPEAKER_16: But he was he was uh he actually said he was tired.
• 14:25
SPEAKER_16: But he he wanted to pass the Save America Act.
• 14:27
SPEAKER_16: And I said, Well, we're gonna get it done, Lindsay.
• 14:30
SPEAKER_16: We're gonna get it done.
• 14:31
SPEAKER_16: I'll see you like soon.
• 14:32
SPEAKER_16: We thought maybe we might even meet today.
• 14:35
SPEAKER_16: And then that was it.
• 14:36
SPEAKER_16: And that was, you know, very around the time.
• 14:39
SPEAKER_16: It couldn't have been much longer.
• 14:41
  SPEAKER_16: I don't know.
• 14:41
SPEAKER_16: It could have been his last call.
• 14:42
SPEAKER_16: I don't know exactly, but I got a message about one o'clock in the morning from one of the people at his office that he had passed away.
• 14:50
SPEAKER_16: I said, You got it, I just can't believe it.
• 14:54
SPEAKER_16: He was like a member of the family to meet him.
• 14:57
SPEAKER_06: So Trump lost a friend, an ally, a fighter, the Senate lost a deal maker, and the War Department lost their biggest bacon if you'd never met Lindsey Graham.
• 15:07
SPEAKER_06: It was clear he was having the time of his life.
• 15:09
SPEAKER_06: Doing what he loved and fighting for what he believed in.
• 15:13
SPEAKER_06: Agree with it or not, Lindsey Graham made history.
• 15:16
SPEAKER_06: And now he's part of it.
• 15:18
SPEAKER_06: And Washington will never be the same.
• 15:25
  SPEAKER_00: Hi, I'm Katie Kirk.
• 15:27
SPEAKER_00: Welcome to Eye to Eye.
• 15:28
SPEAKER_00: One of the bright spots in the rebuilding of Iraq is a new court complex in Baghdad's Green Zone, designed and built by U.S.
• 15:36
  SPEAKER_00: and Iraqi forces.
• 15:37
SPEAKER_00: One of the soldiers on the project, Air Force Reservist, and Senator Lindsey Graham.
• 15:41
SPEAKER_00: He told our Cheryl Akison about one of his colleagues who gave his life to advance Iraqi justice.
• 15:49
SPEAKER_09: Commander Philip Murphy Sweet was a naval officer, not much of a Navy component in Iraq because it's in the middle of the desert, but there are a lot of Navy people there.
• 16:00
SPEAKER_09: He was a supply officer.
• 16:02
SPEAKER_09: He was assigned to the Rule of Law Task Force as a volunteer.
• 16:07
SPEAKER_09: He extended his tour of duty to be part of the Rule of Law Task Force because he could see the benefit of this complex to a better Iraq.
• 16:16
SPEAKER_29: He showed you around, right, when you were there?
• 16:19
SPEAKER_09: He was my host, among several others.
• 16:22
SPEAKER_09: And he told me the story about how the American military, in conjunction with the Iraqi government, built this complex in 60 days.
• 16:31
SPEAKER_09: How they built the courtroom in five days, and it was a courtroom any state in our nation would be proud of.
• 16:38
  SPEAKER_09: He was very proud.
• 16:40
SPEAKER_09: And he stayed to do this job.
• 16:43
SPEAKER_09: He was supposed to go a month before.
• 16:46
SPEAKER_09: He extended his tour of duty to join the rule of law task force because he believed that this compound could help change Iraq.
• 16:55
SPEAKER_09: He gave me a tour of the detention facility, the courtroom, and the housing units for the judge and their family.
• 17:03
SPEAKER_09: This was on a Friday.
• 17:05
SPEAKER_09: He was killed the next morning.
• 17:08
SPEAKER_09: Three young kids, a beautiful wife from Pennsylvania, killed by an IED about a quarter of a mile from this complex who was traveling to an Iraqi prison to help them with one of their construction projects as an advisor.
• 17:24
SPEAKER_29: Who brought you the news and what did they say?
• 17:27
  SPEAKER_09: Word got around.
• 17:30
SPEAKER_09: I was killed on Saturday.
• 17:32
SPEAKER_09: I didn't put two and two together until Sunday that it was the same guy.
• 17:38
SPEAKER_09: And uh Sunday night, I finally was informed that this was the man who spent the day with me showing me the rule of law complex.
• 17:47
  SPEAKER_09: It hit everybody hard.
• 17:50
SPEAKER_09: Had a memorial service for it.
• 17:51
SPEAKER_09: I attended his funeral in Arlington.
• 17:54
SPEAKER_09: I have never met a more stronger person in my life than his wife.
• 17:58
SPEAKER_09: She sent a letter to the memorial service in Baghdad to his colleagues that would make anybody be proud and cry.
• 18:07
SPEAKER_09: And uh it hit me hard because I knew him.
• 18:10
SPEAKER_09: And I'm sure the other deaths in Iraq have hit their colleagues very hard.
• 18:15
SPEAKER_09: I just happened to meet this guy.
• 18:18
SPEAKER_09: Just a random chance in life that I spent the last day with him.
• 18:22
SPEAKER_09: He was killed within 24 hours of when I met him.
• 18:26
SPEAKER_09: And I guess the story goes for me is that nothing good in Iraq happens without a sacrifice.
• 18:33
SPEAKER_09: And he chose to be where he was at, doing what he was doing, and he felt personally that it was important.
• 18:41
SPEAKER_09: And no matter how you feel about this war, I'm sure all Americans appreciate people like Commander Philip Murphy Sweet.
• 18:48
SPEAKER_09: And I just want to let people in South Carolina, people throughout the nation know that I've been in the military for 25 years.
• 18:57
SPEAKER_09: I've served overseas in the 80s during the Cold War.
• 19:01
SPEAKER_09: I've been a military lawyer for most of my adult life.
• 19:05
SPEAKER_09: I've never been more proud to wear the uniform than I am now.
• 19:08
SPEAKER_09: And I've never met a more talented, dedicated force.
• 19:11
SPEAKER_09: They're doing everything we're asking of them, and then some.
• 19:15
SPEAKER_09: And some of them are not gonna come home.
• 19:17
SPEAKER_09: And some of them are gonna come home broken.
• 19:20
SPEAKER_09: And that's the price of war.
• 19:23
SPEAKER_27: I just want to switch gears and talk about China for a minute.
• 19:26
SPEAKER_27: So it's come out that our intelligence reports show that China has been actively falsifying its coronavirus cases and death numbers during the outbreak.
• 19:35
SPEAKER_27: There may have been tens of thousands of more deaths than they've even reported.
• 19:38
SPEAKER_27: And now we're learning that they're censoring research on the origin of the virus.
• 19:42
SPEAKER_27: Um, how should we hold China accountable for these cover-ups?
• 19:46
SPEAKER_27: I know Senator Hawley has um suggested that we actually make them pay for some of the deaths that have happened in this country.
• 19:52
SPEAKER_27: I'm curious at China's culpability in this and their reaction.
• 19:56
SPEAKER_27: How do you think we can hold them accountable?
• 20:00
  SPEAKER_10: Well, that's a really good question.
• 20:02
SPEAKER_10: So uh what do we know?
• 20:03
SPEAKER_10: This is an animal-to-human transmission.
• 20:05
SPEAKER_10: It came from a bat.
• 20:07
SPEAKER_10: We don't know if somebody got infected doing research in the lab or they went went to one of these wet markets in China and actually bought a bat and ate it.
• 20:16
SPEAKER_10: But the one thing we can do is to put pressure on China to close these wet markets.
• 20:21
SPEAKER_10: They sell puppies for human consumption in these markets.
• 20:25
SPEAKER_10: Uh they they people eat bats and monkeys, and that's how this is the third pandemic to come from China.
• 20:31
SPEAKER_10: So, number one, put all the pressure in the world on China to close these wet markets.
• 20:37
SPEAKER_10: Uh they have about$1.3 trillion of treasury notes.
• 20:41
SPEAKER_10: Uh Senator uh Blackburn has a bill to basically cancel some of the debt we owe China, send them a bill for this.
• 20:50
SPEAKER_10: Uh we need to stop trading with China until they change your practices around controlling pandemics and get their act together with wet markets.
• 20:59
SPEAKER_10: Uh, there are a lot of things we need to do to deter them.
• 21:02
SPEAKER_10: If we're not tough on China now, there'll be another one coming later.
• 21:06
SPEAKER_10: So whatever gets them to change our behavior, and it just can't be Meghan the United States, it's gotta be the world.
• 21:12
SPEAKER_10: And uh unless the world takes on China, it won't work.
• 21:18
SPEAKER_20: Okay, so we're blaming China.
• 21:20
  SPEAKER_20: That's that's legitimate.
• 21:22
SPEAKER_20: Um, but Trump also is blaming the World Health Organization.
• 21:26
SPEAKER_20: Uh he said that they should not receive money from the United States under its current leadership.
• 21:31
SPEAKER_20: And um even if if I don't understand something, why cut off a health organization in the middle of a pandemic?
• 21:40
SPEAKER_20: Why not wait until it's over and then deal with WHO?
• 21:46
  SPEAKER_10: Yeah, that's really a good question.
• 21:47
SPEAKER_10: We I'm in charge of the appropriations over the WHO, at least a part of it.
• 21:52
SPEAKER_10: And what I want is see a change of leadership because I think they conspired with China to downplay uh the the nature of the virus that they reported all through January.
• 22:02
SPEAKER_10: There was no evidence of human-to-human transmission.
• 22:05
  SPEAKER_10: I've lost confidence.
• 22:07
SPEAKER_10: The money that's being suspended will go to other people throughout the world to to deal with health issues.
• 22:13
SPEAKER_10: The WHO has great scientists, but it's lost confidence.
• 22:17
SPEAKER_10: I've lost confidence in the leadership.
• 22:19
SPEAKER_10: So a guy like Bill Gates, if Bill Gates was in charge of the WHO, I would double Because I think we need a WHO, but he's not well okay.
• 22:32
  SPEAKER_20: All right.
• 22:33
SPEAKER_20: I still say why now, but let me ask you about the stimulus checks because uh there have been mistakes made from the website crashing to checks going to dead people, but yet the Treasury made sure to have Trump's name on the check.
• 22:47
SPEAKER_20: And he insisted upon it uh, you know, having it there.
• 22:50
SPEAKER_20: Uh his ego is out of control.
• 22:52
SPEAKER_20: And that totally breaks protocol.
• 22:54
SPEAKER_20: Now, Trump was asked yesterday why his name was on the check, and he said he didn't know much about it.
• 22:59
SPEAKER_20: Do you know why his name is on the check, sir?
• 23:03
  SPEAKER_10: Uh no, not really.
• 23:05
SPEAKER_10: I know that during the uh other the the 787 we spent uh during the Obama years, they had uh signs advertising this brought to you by the, you know, by the Obama administration.
• 23:16
SPEAKER_10: I just want the checks to get there.
• 23:18
  SPEAKER_10: I don't really care whose name's on it.
• 23:20
  SPEAKER_10: Yeah, but I I I understand what you're saying.
• 23:23
SPEAKER_10: But the point is that these checks are coming out pretty quickly now.
• 23:26
  SPEAKER_10: $1,200.
• 23:27
SPEAKER_10: If you're listening to this program, you make under$75,000, you're going to get a$1,200 check, whether you're on Social Security or not.
• 23:35
SPEAKER_10: It doesn't count uh uh towards your tax liability, and it's in the mail uh starting tomorrow, I think, and in your direct deposit pretty soon now, and people need the money.
• 23:45
SPEAKER_10: People are hurting out there.
• 23:46
SPEAKER_10: I get that into our doctors and nurses.
• 23:49
SPEAKER_10: You know, can I just add one thing to what Megan asked?
• 23:51
  SPEAKER_10: Have we overreacted?
• 23:52
  SPEAKER_10: I don't think so.
• 23:53
SPEAKER_10: I don't think the models were wrong.
• 23:55
SPEAKER_10: I think what we did has changed the models.
• 23:57
SPEAKER_10: And can you imagine if we had not done all the things we've done today, what our hospitals would look like all over the country?
• 24:04
SPEAKER_10: Every time you do what you're asked to do, you're taking a load off doctors and nurses.
• 24:09
SPEAKER_10: Just remember that you're helping them by practicing social distancing.
• 24:14
  SPEAKER_21: This is true.
• 24:15
SPEAKER_21: I I wish we had started in, you know, November when they say everybody had the information, but we're doing what we can do now.
• 24:23
SPEAKER_21: And right now the country has hit 22 million unemployment, uh unemployed people.
• 24:29
SPEAKER_21: And it is this right?
• 24:31
SPEAKER_21: You worried that these relief packages will encourage people to stay out of the workforce?
• 24:38
SPEAKER_21: I mean, that doesn't make sense to me if people are trying to feed their families.
• 24:42
SPEAKER_21: I th uh you know, I why you know, people are I yeah, I think that's I I think it's not correct, but I'll let you answer it.
• 24:52
SPEAKER_21: Do you it can you explain what you meant?
• 24:56
SPEAKER_10: So here's what bothers me the most in in terms outside the virus is that we have 22 million people out of work at no fault of their own, and I don't see us turning the economy on anywhere near full for a long time yet.
• 25:09
SPEAKER_10: I think the summer is gonna be reduced travel.
• 25:11
SPEAKER_10: Myrtle beach is gonna be a lost summer in terms of tourism.
• 25:14
SPEAKER_10: What we did, and I was the first Republican to join with Democrats to add more money into state unemployment.
• 25:20
SPEAKER_10: The maximum benefit would be you can get in South Carolina for unemployment is$326 a week.
• 25:27
SPEAKER_10: We've added$600, a federal benefit on top of the state benefit, and I want to make people whole.
• 25:34
SPEAKER_10: I want you to get your actual salary if you're unemployed.
• 25:37
SPEAKER_10: But in this case, we've actually sometimes doubled people's salary and unemployment, and I think that will have a per perverse incentive of keep keeping people out of the workforce.
• 25:48
SPEAKER_10: But my number one goal is to get you the check.
• 25:51
SPEAKER_10: What I worry about the most, it may be four to six weeks before anybody gets an unemployment check.
• 25:56
SPEAKER_10: The system has crashed, and we need to pay more attention to unemployment because people can't go four to six weeks without a check.
• 26:06
  SPEAKER_21: Okay.
• 26:07
SPEAKER_21: So you you are happy that people are getting what they need in order to to live the lives securely.
• 26:12
  SPEAKER_21: They've not given what they're doing.
• 26:16
  SPEAKER_23: They're not getting what they're doing.
• 26:17
SPEAKER_23: No, but it's coming, the check is in the mail, right?
• 26:21
SPEAKER_23: Of all the things that Lindsey Graham is famous for having been a part of, none is more so than the uh confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh.
• 26:29
SPEAKER_23: And we're planning on doing a series on the Kavanaugh hearings uh in a in next year, uh, in which Mr.
• 26:35
SPEAKER_23: Graham Senator Graham is going to be a big part of that.
• 26:38
SPEAKER_23: Uh but of course it was a big moment.
• 26:42
SPEAKER_23: The the the situation had gotten out of control.
• 26:44
SPEAKER_23: There were so many accusations that couldn't be proven that were being made at Brett Kavanaugh, and uh and Lindsey Graham put a stop to it.
• 26:51
SPEAKER_23: And this is one of the most famous, the most famous moment of his career uh right here.
• 26:58
SPEAKER_10: Are you aware that at 923 on the night of July the 9th, the day you were nominated to the Supreme Court by President Trump, Senator Schumer said, 23 minutes after your nomination, I will oppose Judge Kavanaugh's nomination with everything I have.
• 27:17
SPEAKER_10: I have a bipartisan and I hope a bipartisan majority will do the same.
• 27:21
SPEAKER_10: The stakes are simply too high for anything less.
• 27:25
SPEAKER_10: Well, if you weren't aware of it, you are now.
• 27:27
SPEAKER_10: Did you meet with Senator Diane Feinstein on August 20th?
• 27:31
SPEAKER_08: I did meet with Senator Feinstein.
• 27:33
SPEAKER_10: Did you know that her staff had already recommended a lawyer to Dr.
• 27:36
  SPEAKER_10: Ford?
• 27:38
SPEAKER_10: I did not know that.
• 27:39
SPEAKER_10: Did you know that her and her staff had this allegations for over 20 days?
• 27:45
SPEAKER_10: I did not know that at the time.
• 27:47
SPEAKER_10: If you wanted an FBI investigation, you could have come to us.
• 27:51
SPEAKER_10: What you want to do is destroy this guy's life, hold this seat open, and hope you win in 2020.
• 27:58
SPEAKER_10: You've said that, not me.
• 28:01
SPEAKER_10: You've got nothing to apologize for.
• 28:04
SPEAKER_10: When you see Sodermeyer and Kagan, tell them that Lindsay said hello, because I voted for them.
• 28:10
SPEAKER_10: I would never do to them what you've done to this guy.
• 28:14
SPEAKER_10: This is the most unethical sham since I've been in politics.
• 28:20
SPEAKER_10: And if you really wanted to know the truth, you sure as hell wouldn't have done what you've done to this guy.
• 28:26
SPEAKER_10: Are you a gang rapist?
• 28:29
  SPEAKER_08: No.
• 28:33
SPEAKER_10: I cannot imagine what you and your family have gone through.
• 28:37
  SPEAKER_10: Boy, y'all want power.
• 28:39
SPEAKER_10: God, I hope you never get it.
• 28:40
SPEAKER_10: I hope the American people can see through this sham that you knew about it and you held it.
• 28:46
SPEAKER_10: You had no intention of protecting Dr.
• 28:49
  SPEAKER_10: Ford.
• 28:49
  SPEAKER_10: None.
• 28:50
SPEAKER_10: She's as much of a victim as you are.
• 28:54
SPEAKER_10: God, I hate to say it because these have been my friends.
• 28:57
SPEAKER_10: But let me tell you, when it comes to this, you're looking for a fair process?
• 29:03
SPEAKER_10: You came to the wrong town at the wrong time, my friend.
• 29:08
SPEAKER_10: Do you consider this a job interview?
• 29:12
SPEAKER_08: The advice and consent role is like a job interview.
• 29:14
SPEAKER_08: You consider that you've been through a job interview.
• 29:17
SPEAKER_08: I've been through a process of advice and consent under the Constitution, which is.
• 29:21
SPEAKER_08: Would you say you've been through hell?
• 29:23
SPEAKER_08: I I've been through uh hell and then some.
• 29:27
SPEAKER_08: This is not a job interview.
• 29:30
  SPEAKER_10: This is hell.
• 29:32
SPEAKER_10: This is going to destroy the ability of good people to come forward because of this crap.
• 29:39
  SPEAKER_10: Your high school yearbook.
• 29:43
SPEAKER_10: You have interacted with professional women all your life, not one accusation.
• 29:48
SPEAKER_10: You're supposed to be Bill Cosby when you're a junior and senior in high school, and all of a sudden you got over it.
• 29:57
SPEAKER_10: It's been my understanding that if you drug women and rape them for two years in high school, you probably don't stop.
• 30:06
SPEAKER_10: Here's my understanding if you lived a good life, people would recognize it.
• 30:13
SPEAKER_10: Like the American Bar Association has the gold standard.
• 30:17
SPEAKER_10: His integrity is absolutely unquestioned.
• 30:21
SPEAKER_10: He is the very circumspect in his personal conduct, harbors no biases or prejudices.
• 30:27
  SPEAKER_10: He's entirely ethical, he's a really decent person.
• 30:31
SPEAKER_10: He is warm, friendly, unassuming.
• 30:33
SPEAKER_10: He's the nicest person of the ABA.
• 30:38
SPEAKER_10: The one thing I can tell you you should be proud of, Ashley, you should be proud of this.
• 30:44
SPEAKER_10: That you raised a daughter who had the good character to pray for Dr.
• 30:50
  SPEAKER_10: Ford.
• 30:51
SPEAKER_10: To my Republican colleagues, if you vote no, you're legitimizing the most despicable thing I have seen in my time in politics.
• 31:02
  SPEAKER_10: You want this seat?
• 31:04
SPEAKER_10: I hope you never get it.
• 31:06
SPEAKER_10: I hope you're on the Supreme Court.
• 31:08
SPEAKER_10: That's exactly where you should be.
• 31:11
SPEAKER_10: And I hope that the American people will see through this charade.
• 31:16
SPEAKER_10: And I wish you well.
• 31:18
SPEAKER_10: And I intend to vote for you, and I hope everybody who's fair-minded will.
• 31:41
  SPEAKER_10: Trump comes later.
• 31:44
  SPEAKER_10: Mr.
• 31:44
SPEAKER_10: President, you're not fucking fine.
• 31:48
SPEAKER_10: I wanna thank my sister Marlene all these things.
• 31:58
SPEAKER_10: Mark is the campaign thing.
• 32:05
  SPEAKER_10: All of you self-kirlana.
• 32:32
SPEAKER_10: So what do we learn tonight?
• 32:33
SPEAKER_10: If you uh if you throw garbage at the people of South Carolina, they will kick you in the head.
• 32:43
SPEAKER_10: I have a lot to be grateful for.
• 32:46
SPEAKER_10: Um there may be a lot of self-made people in the world, but I am not one of them.
• 32:51
SPEAKER_10: I want to start with President Donald J.
• 32:53
  SPEAKER_10: Trump.
• 32:56
SPEAKER_10: I just talked to him so I know he's watching.
• 32:59
  SPEAKER_10: Mr.
• 33:00
SPEAKER_10: President, when you endorsed me early on, it changed everything.
• 33:04
SPEAKER_10: Uh, you're the gold standard in the Republican world.
• 33:07
SPEAKER_10: The most consequential endorsement, I think, in the history of politics.
• 33:11
SPEAKER_10: And when you spoke, the people of South Carolina listened.
• 33:14
SPEAKER_10: And President Trump, I'm coming back to the Senate in 27.
• 33:19
SPEAKER_10: I'm gonna win in November.
• 33:21
SPEAKER_10: I'm gonna help you change this world and change this country.
• 33:29
SPEAKER_10: So I just bought a new driver.
• 33:31
SPEAKER_10: Beware, I may get better.
• 33:34
  SPEAKER_10: Governor McMaster Tim Scott.
• 33:37
SPEAKER_10: Uh they co-chaired my campaign.
• 33:39
SPEAKER_10: Thank you to all of them that helped me.
• 33:42
SPEAKER_10: Uh, Tim is a dear friend.
• 33:44
SPEAKER_10: Uh, Henry, thank you so much.
• 33:47
SPEAKER_10: Uh Joe Wilson, the energizer, bunny of politics, uh, Congressman Timmins, Russell Fry down in Oreek County.
• 33:55
SPEAKER_10: The one thing I tell you about Lindsay Graham in O'Reilly County, I like it.
• 34:01
SPEAKER_10: I live as far away from Ori County, which is Myrtle Beach, for people who don't know what I'm talking about, and I just clean up down there and I'm forever grateful.
• 34:10
SPEAKER_10: Pro-Life groups, the National Right to Life, Tea Party Express.
• 34:15
SPEAKER_10: I got a lot of people to be grateful for, but there's a guy that I want to recognize, Brandon Guffy.
• 34:21
  SPEAKER_10: Where's Brandon?
• 34:24
SPEAKER_10: So, in case you're listening at home, Brandon's a State House representative uh up from Rock Hill, and his son uh committed suicide because he got hooked up to a very bad website on social media and drove that young man to take his life.
• 34:44
SPEAKER_10: Gavin, and I promise you, Brandon, that we're not gonna give up until you and every other American that's been harmed by social media can sue them in court.
• 34:55
SPEAKER_10: We're gonna open up the courthouse to victims of social media.
• 35:00
SPEAKER_10: That's the one thing I want to do when I go back.
• 35:03
SPEAKER_10: So again, I am grateful this was a decisive win.
• 35:07
SPEAKER_10: It's the most challenged I've ever been in terms of money, the most challenged I've ever been in terms of the garbage thrown at me.
• 35:14
SPEAKER_10: And the reason I'm standing here tonight as a winner is because people around me made me a winner.
• 35:20
SPEAKER_10: And I'm here to tell you that I'm gonna take the opportunity to represent this state in November, and we're not gonna give this seat over to a Democrat.
• 35:30
  SPEAKER_10: Annie Andrews, congratulations tonight.
• 35:33
SPEAKER_10: She's a position in Charleston, she's the Democratic nominee, and enjoy tonight because it's gonna go downhill for you after tonight.
• 35:47
SPEAKER_10: If you're running as Democrat, one, admit you're a Democrat.
• 35:51
SPEAKER_10: And I want you to explain to the people, uh the voters of South Carolina, why you're against the Save America?
• 35:58
SPEAKER_10: Why are you against voter ID?
• 36:00
SPEAKER_10: Why are you against only citizens being able to vote?
• 36:03
SPEAKER_10: Why do you oppose boys playing girls' sports?
• 36:07
SPEAKER_10: Why do you support the idea that a minor can transition their sex, changing the life forever?
• 36:13
SPEAKER_10: Why would you vote against Kavanaugh?
• 36:17
SPEAKER_10: Why did you vote for a Biden?
• 36:20
SPEAKER_10: What the hell's going on with that?
• 36:23
SPEAKER_10: So we're gonna have a spirited contest.
• 36:26
SPEAKER_10: It's gonna be respectful, but I'm gonna call you out for being the most liberal person ever dominated by the Democratic Party in the history of South Carolina to run for the United States Senate.
• 36:39
SPEAKER_10: And you're not gonna get away with dodging questions.
• 36:43
SPEAKER_10: You're gonna answer questions that are relevant to who we are as the people of South Carolina and matter to them when it comes time for their new senator to vote in 2027.
• 36:53
SPEAKER_10: So I have a lot to be thankful for, I have a lot to be grateful for, I have a lot of people help me get here tonight, and the only way I know to pay you back is to just keep what I have been keep doing, what I've been doing.
• 37:07
  SPEAKER_10: And what is that?
• 37:08
SPEAKER_10: Helping President Trump put as many conservative judges on the court as we can.
• 37:13
SPEAKER_10: I'll be chairman of the Judiciary Committee if I win and we hold a Senate.
• 37:18
SPEAKER_10: So I promise everybody in America that cares about conservative judges, Donald Trump and Lindsey Graham are gonna deliver for you in 27 and 28, big time.
• 37:30
SPEAKER_10: I'm gonna go back and I'm gonna make sure the military has what they need to win the wars that we can't afford to lose.
• 37:37
SPEAKER_10: I'm gonna have their back because they have our back.
• 37:40
SPEAKER_10: I'm gonna try to find a way to keep taxes low, not high.
• 37:44
SPEAKER_10: And when it comes to President Trump, Mr.
• 37:47
SPEAKER_10: President, I'm going to be your strongest ally in the United States Senate.
• 37:51
SPEAKER_10: I'm gonna be the Trump guy in the United States Senate helping the Trump agenda for your last two years.
• 37:57
SPEAKER_10: You're in course, my friend, to be one of the most consequential presidents in American history.
• 38:02
SPEAKER_10: And what do we prove tonight that South Carolina is Trump country, not massey country?
• 38:09
SPEAKER_10: We prove tonight that nobody gives a damn what Marjorie Taylor Green thinks about who to vote for in South Carolina.
• 38:18
SPEAKER_10: What do we want in South Carolina?
• 38:20
SPEAKER_10: We want conservatism with a smile.
• 38:23
SPEAKER_10: We want people who can deliver, that can work across the aisle when it makes sense, but never lose sight of what politics is all about.
• 38:31
  SPEAKER_10: It's about making people's lives better.
• 38:34
SPEAKER_10: It's about fighting when you have to fight, Kavanaugh.
• 38:38
SPEAKER_10: It's about finding common ground when you need to.
• 38:45
SPEAKER_10: Why is South Carolina the fastest growing state in the nation?
• 38:49
  SPEAKER_10: I'm gonna give you a hint.
• 38:51
SPEAKER_10: There's no better place to raise a family than South Carolina.
• 38:58
SPEAKER_10: Wokeness is not allowed here.
• 39:02
SPEAKER_10: This is a place of tradition and respect, tolerance, but not wokeness.
• 39:09
SPEAKER_10: This is a place you can start a business, and the people that work for you will work hard, and they expect and deserve a good day's pay for their hard work.
• 39:20
SPEAKER_10: This is a place where you can raise your family, start a business, and enjoy life.
• 39:27
SPEAKER_10: To those who've never been to South Carolina, you're welcome to come.
• 39:31
SPEAKER_10: God has blessed us with scenery and beauty unmatched anywhere in the world.
• 39:38
SPEAKER_10: I'm a proud Republican, but we're gonna make sure that the God's blessing to South Carolina, that we protect our environment, that we're gonna keep and be good stewards of God's creation in our state.
• 39:52
SPEAKER_10: So to the American people, my state, our state, has got a lot going for us.
• 40:01
SPEAKER_10: We're proud of who we are.
• 40:03
SPEAKER_10: We've had problems in the past, and we're striving to be better every day.
• 40:09
SPEAKER_10: My great friend Tim Scott comes from a lineage of slavery, and today he's a United States Senator from the great state of South Carolina.
• 40:21
SPEAKER_10: I have never been more proud of my state than right now.
• 40:25
SPEAKER_10: I love this place called South Carolina, and I am going to pay you back in South Carolina being the best I know Lindsey Graham can be for you and to the American people.
• 40:40
SPEAKER_10: South Carolina is the fastest growing state for very good reasons, and when I go back to the Senate, we're gonna keep it that way.
• 40:51
  SPEAKER_10: God bless you all.
• 40:53
SPEAKER_10: God bless America, God bless the voters of South Carolina.
• 40:58
SPEAKER_10: I stand before you a very humble, grateful, soon-to-be fifth-term senator for the state of South Carolina.
• 41:12
SPEAKER_10: If I can tie strong, I got 30 more years left.
• 41:15
SPEAKER_10: I don't see that happening, but I'm gonna enjoy tonight as a gift from God and the people of South Carolina.
• 41:22
SPEAKER_10: I'm going to bed tonight, the most grateful person on the planet.
• 41:27
SPEAKER_10: I have so much to be grateful for.
• 41:29
SPEAKER_10: I'm gonna say a prayer before I go to bed tonight, and I'm gonna wake up tomorrow determined to win this race.
• 41:35
  SPEAKER_10: God bless you all.
• 41:38
SPEAKER_23: An open letter to the citizens of South Carolina from U.S.
• 41:42
  SPEAKER_23: Senator Darling Graham.
• 41:44
SPEAKER_23: Dear fellow South Carolinians, I never imagined I would be speaking to you under these circumstances.
• 41:51
SPEAKER_23: Last Saturday I lost my brother Lindsay.
• 41:54
SPEAKER_23: Lindsay was my rock and my hero.
• 41:56
SPEAKER_23: He was always there for me, just like he was for so many of you.
• 42:00
SPEAKER_23: If I could trade this moment and have Lindsay back, I would do so in a heartbeat.
• 42:05
  SPEAKER_23: But I can't.
• 42:06
SPEAKER_23: I have been amazed and appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from the people of South Carolina.
• 42:12
SPEAKER_23: I always knew Lindsay was an amazing person, but I have been overwhelmed by how many people truly loved him and how many lives he touched.
• 42:20
SPEAKER_23: Lindsay dedicated his life to serving South Carolina and defending our nation.
• 42:25
SPEAKER_23: He accomplished so much, yet he still had so much many big ideas that he was determined to see through.
• 42:32
SPEAKER_23: Now it's time for me to step up for South Carolina, just like he stepped up for me when our parents died.
• 42:38
SPEAKER_23: In the most challenging of times, I've learned God often calls on ordinary people to do extraordinary things.
• 42:44
SPEAKER_23: Yet I am not Lindsay.
• 42:46
SPEAKER_23: I have my own way of doing things, but we were raised with the same values.
• 42:51
SPEAKER_23: Work hard each day, trust in the Lord, remember your roots, and never forget who you work for.
• 42:56
SPEAKER_23: That's why I've spent my career helping South Carolinians with disabilities find employment and live independently.
• 43:03
SPEAKER_23: On behalf of my family and Lindsay staff, who have worked tirelessly through their own grief while continuing to serve the people of our state, thank you.
• 43:12
SPEAKER_23: We are truly humbled and appreciative.
• 43:14
SPEAKER_23: I did not seek this moment, but it's here.
• 43:17
SPEAKER_23: Now I'm asking for your prayers.
• 43:19
  SPEAKER_23: God bless U.S.
• 43:21
  SPEAKER_23: Senator Darlene Graham.
• 43:30
  SPEAKER_23: I uh want to come y'all.
• 43:32
SPEAKER_23: Y'all are probably gonna talk about this a little later, but um certain.
• 43:35
SPEAKER_23: But um Senator Lindsay Graham passing away.
• 43:43
SPEAKER_23: And I uh wanted to come up and just ask y'all to consider it.
• 43:46
SPEAKER_23: I'm gonna go talk to the county council tonight, um, naming something in his honor.
• 43:51
SPEAKER_23: Um I can't think of anyone who has been a better friend to Ori County and to Myrtle Beach than he has on the list.
• 44:00
SPEAKER_23: Beach renourishment, stormwater ocean outfalls, I-73 permits, uh, you know, dredging the Georgetown port, which is or the Charleston port, which is out of our region, but here close by to work on the Georgetown port, the Dillon port, um, community development block grant money.
• 44:16
SPEAKER_23: And you know, I was active with the municipal association and the national league cities when I was on council.
• 44:21
SPEAKER_23: Um, and I want a committee to try to save that during the Bush administration.
• 44:25
SPEAKER_23: Actually, when I had the opportunity to work with Joe Biden of all people.
• 44:28
SPEAKER_23: But the Republican senator that they were working to try to save that program with was Lindsey Graham.
• 44:34
SPEAKER_23: In the Myrtle Beach Airport, when we had the situation with the terminal, I certainly there were two members here that were there then.
• 44:42
SPEAKER_23: We got into a big fight with Lori County.
• 44:44
SPEAKER_23: And I I didn't do it with as much flair, but occasionally I did vote six to one on that issue.
• 44:50
SPEAKER_23: And uh Lindsey Graham called me himself and not to side with the city or the county, but to say what is going on down there.
• 44:57
SPEAKER_23: I've got$40 million allocated for this airport.
• 45:01
SPEAKER_23: You know, that's how in tune he was to the needs of Orey County and uh and the and the state and local government.
• 45:08
SPEAKER_23: If you all you had to do was read the comments the Municipal Association and the National League of Cities made about working with him all those years.
• 45:15
SPEAKER_23: And so the reason that I thought it was important to come today so soon is that any decision to make to honor him, if we could do it in the next six months, would be great while his sister is still a United States Senator and while that staff, largely almost all of which has been with him the entire time he served in Congress, going back to 1994, they would still be in place to be able to be a part of it.
• 45:37
SPEAKER_23: And um he loved Ori County.
• 45:39
SPEAKER_23: The last victory speech he gave a month ago, the one place he mentioned in that speech was Ori County in Pearl Beach.
• 45:46
SPEAKER_23: So um I would appreciate it if y'all would consider that and I appreciate you doing that.
• 45:50
  SPEAKER_23: Thank you.
• 45:52
  SPEAKER_12: Thanks, Randall.
• 45:54
SPEAKER_12: That's our 30 minutes of non-agenda comments from the public.
• 45:58
SPEAKER_12: We've got another 30-minute section on the agenda after the regular portion of the meeting.
• 46:02
SPEAKER_12: If you feel like you'd like to stick around, we'll have that other window that opens up.
• 46:07
SPEAKER_12: But that's all the folks who had signed up at this stage.
• 46:11
  SPEAKER_23: Dear Mr.
• 46:11
SPEAKER_23: Mayor and Myrtle Beach City Council members.
• 46:15
SPEAKER_23: First let me say thank you for allowing me to speak at your council meeting on July 14th, 2026, during the public input session section of your meeting.
• 46:27
  SPEAKER_23: I appreciate it a great deal.
• 46:29
SPEAKER_23: Long before I was elected to the Myrtle Beach City Council, and back when I was a college student in Greenwood, South Carolina, I worked on the first campaign for Congress of Lindsey Graham in 1994.
• 46:39
SPEAKER_23: And I have helped in some capacity in almost all of his races since that time, in 1996 for Congress, and then again in 2002 for the Senate, and subsequently in 2008, 2014, 2020, and as best I could this year, though I was hampered by some health issues earlier in the year.
• 46:55
SPEAKER_23: I decided to speak yesterday because I thought it important that as many people as can be told hear from all of us just how important to our area and just what a friend to Orie County and the city of Myrtle Beach and to local government in general, Lindsey Graham was.
• 47:11
SPEAKER_23: Sometimes the folks with the loudest bullhorn get the most attention.
• 47:14
SPEAKER_23: And those who dislike the Senator or had policy differences with his stances on national and international politics have overshadowed the real accomplishments he made to our area.
• 47:24
SPEAKER_23: I wanted to correct that yesterday and hope to continue to do so in the days and weeks to come.
• 47:29
SPEAKER_23: I hope you will collectively help me do that.
• 47:32
SPEAKER_23: My hope is that you will consider my request to name something significant in his honor.
• 47:37
SPEAKER_23: I respectfully would suggest the Myrtle Beach International Airport Terminal or airport itself, so that his name would carry on as one of the first things people from around the world would see when they came to this thriving location on the planet that he worked so tirelessly to promote.
• 47:54
SPEAKER_23: I do realize, obviously, that this is not your facility, and I have gone over and started discussing the possibility with the Ory County Council in their last later meeting that yesterday as well.
• 48:06
SPEAKER_23: I just felt since the airport and the terminal are also located in the city of Myrtle Beach, that starting with our council would hopefully have everyone on the same page if that is possible.
• 48:16
SPEAKER_23: This is just a suggestion, and I feel confident that all of your judgment collectively may have as an even wiser or more appropriate idea.
• 48:25
SPEAKER_23: And you may have an idea separate from this one for just the city of the city of Myrtle Beach.
• 48:30
SPEAKER_23: But I do hope this effort gets the ball rolling so that something may be in place while his sister and staff are still in place to be able to see it come to fruition while on their watch in the United States Senate.
• 48:42
SPEAKER_23: Thanks again for your time and your service to the City of Myrtle Beach.
• 48:45
  SPEAKER_23: Sincerely, Randall Wallace.
• 48:48
SPEAKER_15: Just want to remind everybody, that's what we're doing here.
• 48:50
SPEAKER_15: We have one more person signed up, and uh he's no stranger to anyone in Ory County.
• 48:55
SPEAKER_15: It's Randall Wallace from Myrtle Beach, and uh he's gonna come up and make some remarks.
• 49:00
SPEAKER_15: Um talked with him earlier.
• 49:03
SPEAKER_15: We have a plan next month.
• 49:05
SPEAKER_15: Super sad happened so quickly that most people haven't really come to terms with it.
• 49:10
SPEAKER_15: But everybody has a great story about the census.
• 49:13
SPEAKER_15: And we'll hear them next week, next month when we come back for our next meeting.
• 49:18
SPEAKER_23: So we're gonna hear from just um, you know, just a long couple days.
• 49:28
SPEAKER_23: Just all to consider um what you're doing, what you're saying you're gonna be doing in modern Lindsay Ray.
• 49:36
SPEAKER_23: Talk a little bit about because I don't uh haven't worked on the campaigns and all that.
• 49:40
SPEAKER_23: The public really knows what a friend to local government to work specifically in the city of World Beach, the Lindsay Rail really was.
• 49:48
SPEAKER_23: Um you know, I used to serve on the city council of World Beach way back in the early 2000s.
• 49:53
SPEAKER_23: So I can remember working for emergency funding for beach endurchment.
• 49:56
  SPEAKER_23: We call Lindsay Raymond.
• 49:58
  SPEAKER_23: He was right there.
• 49:59
SPEAKER_23: The uh the Ocean Hellfall project and another beach endurchment project that we've had 50 years, the 1973 permitting.
• 50:05
SPEAKER_23: Uh, you know, outside of our reaching the Charleston board and the Georgetown board, uh uh the Dylan Hillman board, the CDBG funding, which was in trouble with the Bush administration.
• 50:16
SPEAKER_23: Umsociation, who was the Republican senator that was the one we were working with.
• 50:28
SPEAKER_23: That was not the right thing, you know, a lot of people, you know, national politics and models of water sometimes.
• 50:35
SPEAKER_23: But he really wasn't for us.
• 50:39
SPEAKER_23: Councilman Allen was not here, but councilman loft just was serving when the city and the county got into uh dispute over the airport where it was going to be.
• 50:47
SPEAKER_23: And if y'all remember, I was the city council member that voted six to one with y'all.
• 50:51
SPEAKER_23: I did that every now and then.
• 50:52
SPEAKER_23: I had the flavor that some other folks on my council had for that.
• 50:56
SPEAKER_23: Um but the reason that I was so much willing to try to help the county out for that is I got a phone call from Lindsay Graham.
• 51:04
SPEAKER_23: That's how intended the only committee for the biggest needs he was because he had$40 million to help the company with it.
• 51:14
  SPEAKER_23: That's not paraphrase.
• 51:17
SPEAKER_23: Um I just want people to know this wasn't fun to all of us.
• 51:23
  SPEAKER_23: That's what I'm saying.
• 51:25
  SPEAKER_23: You know, association.
• 51:27
SPEAKER_23: So the choir, I just would our job to maybe consider that, especially right now with his sister as the senator of the next six months.
• 51:36
SPEAKER_23: That's incredible staff that you could call and get anything you needed done.
• 51:40
  SPEAKER_23: Mr.
• 51:40
SPEAKER_23: Biden, I just talked about the uh the fire.
• 51:43
  SPEAKER_23: Um, you know, he's a problem.
• 51:52
SPEAKER_23: Um that staff is really important to be a part of whatever that they can be a part of being honored.
• 51:58
SPEAKER_23: Um, like I said, I'm preaching to the choir, and I appreciate y'all giving me that time for people to really realize hey, we have really lost a friend to Ori County and the local government in general.
• 52:09
SPEAKER_15: With that, I appreciate it.
• 52:10
SPEAKER_15: Thank you for coming out.
• 52:11
  SPEAKER_15: Thank you, sir.
• 52:12
SPEAKER_15: All right, with that, we'll go ahead and close.
• 52:27
SPEAKER_23: Dear Chairman and Hori County Council members, first let me say thank you for allowing me to speak to your council meeting on July 14th, 2026, during the public input section of your agenda.
• 52:37
  SPEAKER_23: I appreciate it a great deal.
• 52:39
SPEAKER_23: Long before I was was elected to the Myrtle Beach City Council, and back when I was a college student in Greenwood, South Carolina, I worked on the first campaign for Congress of Lindsey Graham in 1994.
• 52:49
SPEAKER_23: I've helped in some capacity in almost all of his races since that time, in 1996 for Congress, and then again in 2002 for the Senate, and subsequently in 2008, 2014, 2020, and as best I could this year, though I was hampered by some issues with my health earlier in the year.
• 53:05
SPEAKER_23: I decided to go ahead and speak last night because I thought it important that as many people as can be told hear from all of us just how important to our area and just what a friend Orie County, the city of Myrtle Beach, and its local government in general, Lindsay Graham, was.
• 53:19
SPEAKER_23: Sometimes the folks with the loudest bullhorn get the most attention.
• 53:22
SPEAKER_23: And those who dislike the Senator or had policy differences with his stances on national and international politics have overshadowed the real accomplishments he made to our area.
• 53:32
SPEAKER_23: I wanted to correct that last night and hope to continue to do so in the days and weeks to come.
• 53:37
SPEAKER_23: I hope you will collectively help me do that.
• 53:40
SPEAKER_23: My hope is that you will consider my request to name something significant in his honor.
• 53:45
SPEAKER_23: I respectfully would suggest the Myrtle Beach International Airport Terminal or Airport itself, so that his name would carry on as one of the first things people from around the world would see when they came to this thriving location on the planet that he worked so tirelessly to promote.
• 54:00
SPEAKER_23: This is just a suggestion, and I feel confident that all of your judgment collectively may have an even wiser or more appropriate idea.
• 54:07
SPEAKER_23: But I do hope this effort gets the ball rolling so that something may be in place while his sister and staff are still in place to be able to see it to fruition while still on their watch in the United States Senate.
• 54:18
SPEAKER_23: Thanks again for your time and your service to Ory County.
• 54:22
  SPEAKER_23: Sincerely, Randall Wallace.
• 54:25
SPEAKER_23: And for those of you in my local audience, I hope you'll consider contacting your county council members and your city council members, even if you're on a city different than Myrtle Beach, and tell them you'd like to see something significantly named after Senator Lindsey Graham.
• 54:39
SPEAKER_23: He was that important a friend to our area.
• 54:46
SPEAKER_23: Here are the closing remarks of Senator Chris Coons of Delaware, a Democrat.
• 54:54
  SPEAKER_23: Without objection.
• 55:05
SPEAKER_03: Now, some watching might be surprised that I would describe Lindsey Graham as my friend.
• 55:12
SPEAKER_03: But those who know me and know the 16 years I've spent here know that Lindsay and I traveled the world together, legislated together, served together, fought for our nation together.
• 55:27
SPEAKER_03: We had our ups and downs, we certainly had our disagreements.
• 55:31
SPEAKER_03: And I will tell a few quick stories, if I might, in his memory.
• 55:38
SPEAKER_03: There was a moment during the Kavanaugh hearings that was one of the most tense and ugly and difficult we had together on judiciary.
• 55:47
SPEAKER_03: And it was also the time when we were working together on the bill that funds the State Department and foreign aid.
• 55:57
SPEAKER_03: And he and I had worked together to create an outside organization to support U.S.
• 56:02
  SPEAKER_03: foreign aid.
• 56:05
SPEAKER_03: And he arrived first and spoke.
• 56:08
SPEAKER_03: And I had waited for him to leave for me to come and speak because we were having one of our moments.
• 56:16
SPEAKER_03: And I could see as I stood up to speak that he was waiting.
• 56:20
SPEAKER_03: He was born the same day as my older brother, July 9th.
• 56:25
SPEAKER_03: And I said to that room, it may surprise a room full of people in Washington that I can love Lindsey Graham and want to throttle Lindsey Graham in the same minute, in the same day.
• 56:37
  SPEAKER_03: But that's Lindsey.
• 56:39
SPEAKER_03: We served on judiciary together, we served on foreign relations together.
• 56:43
SPEAKER_03: We served on appropriations together.
• 56:45
SPEAKER_03: He could make up his mind like that.
• 56:48
SPEAKER_03: He'd commit to doing something and he'd stick with it.
• 56:51
SPEAKER_03: And he had some core commitments and passions that were a through line for the entire time we served together.
• 56:59
SPEAKER_03: I first got to know Lindsay best through our mutual friend John McCain.
• 57:05
SPEAKER_03: Senator McCain kept trying and trying to get me to travel with him to the Munich Security Conference.
• 57:11
SPEAKER_03: And on that very first trip, Lindsay was, of course, also along.
• 57:16
SPEAKER_03: And in meeting after meeting with leaders from around the world, hearing his insights, his humor, and his powerful commitment to the fight for freedom inspired me.
• 57:30
SPEAKER_03: He and I also traveled all over Africa and the Middle East.
• 57:34
SPEAKER_03: And over many years we did a lot of good together.
• 57:37
SPEAKER_03: We wrote and shaped and passed some of the most important bills I've had the honor of working on while here.
• 57:47
SPEAKER_03: And when I woke up Saturday morning shocked to hear that he had died abruptly the night before, I thought back to the dinner we had just had together in Ankara, Turkey at the NATO summit.
• 58:04
  SPEAKER_03: Providentially.
• 58:06
SPEAKER_03: It was our first really good, warm dinner together in a while.
• 58:12
SPEAKER_03: And it was a chance for me to see the Lindsay I knew best from years gone by.
• 58:19
SPEAKER_03: He is a fierce and tireless advocate for the Ukrainian cause, for Vladimir Zelensky, and for the fight for freedom currently unfolding in Eastern Europe.
• 58:31
SPEAKER_03: And he had had a fabulous day.
• 58:34
SPEAKER_03: Zelensky's meeting with President Trump had gone well.
• 58:38
SPEAKER_03: Trump had pledged to let Zelensky and the Ukrainians license our critical Pac-3 Patriot Interceptors.
• 58:46
SPEAKER_03: And Trump had told him he would at long last let us take up and pass in the Senate a bill to impose greater costs and sanctions on the buyers of Russian oil and gas.
• 58:57
SPEAKER_03: He was on cloud nut.
• 59:01
SPEAKER_03: And we celebrated his birthday, which was the next day, together.
• 59:07
SPEAKER_03: One of the things we talked about, as we often did, was how neither one of us could believe we were here.
• 59:14
SPEAKER_03: I'd had a I was in a tough car accident a few days earlier in Lewis, Delaware, where a pickup truck came across the center line and totaled the car I was in.
• 59:27
SPEAKER_03: And I and everybody else involved in what was a five-car pile-up walked away unscratched.
• 59:34
SPEAKER_03: And as we were walking back to the hotel, he put his arm around me and he said, I hope you're gonna stick with us because we've got a lot more good to do.
• 59:45
SPEAKER_03: I had no idea that'd be the last time we'd speak.
• 59:49
SPEAKER_03: Born in central the town of central South Carolina, raised by a couple who owned a bar and a restaurant, he was the first in his family to go to college.
• 1:00:03
SPEAKER_03: Orphaned at a young age, he was dedicated to caring for his younger sister, Darlene, who we will soon have join us here in the U.S.
• 1:00:11
  SPEAKER_03: Senate.
• 1:00:13
SPEAKER_03: And when he found here in the Senate his friend and mentor and role model, John McCain, in many ways, he found his life's purpose.
• 1:00:25
SPEAKER_03: He and I did our best work together on appropriations and foreign relations.
• 1:00:31
SPEAKER_03: Looking at how hard it was to get the nation of Colombia, which was nearly collapsing in internal conflict with Marxist guerrillas and drug cartels.
• 1:00:45
SPEAKER_03: We looked at something called Plan Colombia, that over several administrations, with uh determined and broad engagement by the United States and hard work by the Colombian people and their government, helped stabilize a country otherwise descending into chaos.
• 1:01:01
SPEAKER_03: And over years of work together, we crafted something called the Global Fragility Act, which was designed to take that same view, having our State Department and yes, USAID, and our Department of Defense and have a common strategy for identified countries that were teetering on the edge and where thoughtful, engaged long-term American involvement could make the difference.
• 1:01:27
SPEAKER_03: He and I were working right now on its reauthorization.
• 1:01:34
SPEAKER_03: One of the bills I'm proudest of we worked on over several Congresses was the U.S.
• 1:01:40
SPEAKER_03: Foundation for International Conservation Act.
• 1:01:43
SPEAKER_03: We've renamed it the Foundation for Counterterrorism and Conservation.
• 1:01:49
SPEAKER_03: Lindsay Ever Agile was working for ways to make the argument for this foundation.
• 1:01:55
SPEAKER_03: The bill's been signed into law.
• 1:01:57
SPEAKER_03: We are simply trying to get the administration to launch it in his usual clever and agile way.
• 1:02:06
SPEAKER_03: He summarized what I would make as an argument in paragraphs, and he would make in two sentences.
• 1:02:12
SPEAKER_03: He made up red ball caps that said, good for animals, bad for terrorists, and handed them out broadly.
• 1:02:20
SPEAKER_03: Lindsay and I gave a speech once to the major supporters of the University of Notre Dame in Illinois in Indiana.
• 1:02:29
SPEAKER_03: And I worked on my speech and had all sorts of remarks and points and comments.
• 1:02:34
SPEAKER_03: He showed up looking like he'd just woken up, smoothing his hair down.
• 1:02:40
SPEAKER_03: And I stood up and gave, you know, 10 minutes of detailed and thorough and I thought thoughtful remarks about terrorism and the West and the balance of power of the world, things they'd asked us to talk about.
• 1:02:53
SPEAKER_03: And like the incredible and talented country lawyer he was, without a single note, he stood up and made a few simple, powerful, and engaging points with humor and with engagement.
• 1:03:06
SPEAKER_03: And I watched that room full of people just eating out of his hand.
• 1:03:11
SPEAKER_03: He could make an argument.
• 1:03:15
SPEAKER_03: When you were on the receiving end of an argument you disagreed with, it was unpleasant and uncomfortable.
• 1:03:23
SPEAKER_03: When you were pulling in the same direction, making an argument in all of our best interests, it was a delight to work with him.
• 1:03:32
SPEAKER_03: One of the things I never really persuaded him on was my passion for patent policy.
• 1:03:38
SPEAKER_03: I chaired the intellectual property subcommittee on judiciary, a committee we long served on together.
• 1:03:45
SPEAKER_03: And as we were coming back from a conference in Europe, this was years ago, I spotted my moment to make my case for my really important patent policy legislation.
• 1:03:57
SPEAKER_03: And sidling up and sitting down next to him on the plane, I spent some time really making my best arguments.
• 1:04:04
SPEAKER_03: And as we landed back in the United States, Lindsay stumbled off the plane and to me memorably, turned to the other senators and said, I have a new idea for how we will torture people in Guantanamo.
• 1:04:16
SPEAKER_03: We'll make them listen to Chris Kuhn's talk about patents.
• 1:04:21
  SPEAKER_03: I said, So you'll co-sponsor the bill?
• 1:04:23
  SPEAKER_03: And he ran.
• 1:04:25
SPEAKER_03: I have many, many other stories of moments, tense moments with heads of state, moments with a group of senators trying to hammer out a big bill on immigration or an infrastructure, where Lindsay's humor, his irreverent, often inappropriate, but hysterical humor broke the ice and brought us together.
• 1:04:53
SPEAKER_03: One trip I'll never forget was two weeks after October 7th, when Senator Graham and Senator Cardin pulled together ten of us, five Republicans and five Democrats, of a very broad range.
• 1:05:05
SPEAKER_03: And we went to Tel Aviv, we went to Riyadh, we went to Cairo.
• 1:05:11
SPEAKER_03: We had two-hour in-person and intense meetings with Mohammed bin Salman of the Saudi Kingdom, with al-Sisi, the president of Egypt, with Prime Minister Netanyahu in his war cabinet.
• 1:05:22
SPEAKER_03: It was a grim and heavy moment because the people of Israel had just suffered a horrific attack from Hamas.
• 1:05:30
SPEAKER_03: But part of why that attack had happened was this process of negotiating Saudi recognition of Israel and Israeli recognition of Palestinian self-governance and an American guarantee to the Saudis was so close to conclusion, was making real progress that Hamas chose that moment to strike.
• 1:05:53
SPEAKER_03: Lindsay never stopped trying to make that happen.
• 1:05:58
SPEAKER_03: Not when Biden was president, not now that Trump is president, and at a formal dinner we were at together in Ankara at the NATO summit, he stood up and made the case again.
• 1:06:11
SPEAKER_03: I hope that my colleagues will look on the history of this man who couldn't believe he had the honor and the blessing of serving here in the Senate.
• 1:06:23
SPEAKER_03: A man with the Mercurio.
• 1:06:25
SPEAKER_03: Temper, a man of incredible humor, and a man with a tireless work ethic who served our nation in the Air Force and who served our country in the Senate.
• 1:06:35
SPEAKER_03: And we will redouble our efforts to make real the dream that he and I wrote together to create a conservation foundation that will secure ungoverned spaces in South America and in Africa and Southeast Asia and shut down jihadist groups and extremist groups and conserve and protect wildlife and open spaces for the future.
• 1:07:00
SPEAKER_03: It requires just one signature from Secretary Rubio.
• 1:07:06
SPEAKER_03: I hope that this body will take up and reauthorize our Global Fragility Act based on lessons learned over years together, going to difficult and dangerous and remote places and looking at what was working and not working.
• 1:07:21
SPEAKER_03: Places where our response was over-militarized, or where our response was discoordinated, or where our response was too little, too late.
• 1:07:31
SPEAKER_03: And I certainly hope that we will take up and pass the Graham Blumenthal bill to impose real costs on Putin.
• 1:07:41
SPEAKER_03: That was the source of his joy in his final days.
• 1:07:46
SPEAKER_03: He was so excited when we spoke about going into Kiev, about giving the good news to Zelensky, about coming back here this week and passing this bill.
• 1:07:59
SPEAKER_03: John before him, Senator McCain before him, and Senator Graham often after said Putin will only stop when we stop him.
• 1:08:08
SPEAKER_03: I believed that then, I believe it now.
• 1:08:11
SPEAKER_03: And for someone who worked so hard and for so long on our nation's best interests, I think the least we could do to honor Lindsey Graham's memory is to take up and pass in this Senate the legislation for which he worked and fought so long.
• 1:08:29
SPEAKER_03: Let me close by saying to everyone who worked for Lindsay, and I've known many of you over the years, to his sister Darlene, to his extended friends and family in South Carolina, know that even though he and I fought like hell on many occasions, it was like fighting with a brother.
• 1:08:49
SPEAKER_03: Summon, although he changed and moved, and at times we had great difficulties and distance, I always knew in the end in his heart he loved this nation.
• 1:08:59
SPEAKER_03: He loved this institution, he loved South Carolina, and he loved the people he represented.
• 1:09:06
SPEAKER_03: My predecessor in this seat, Senator, then vice president, then President Joe Biden, was close with Lindsay.
• 1:09:15
SPEAKER_03: They too had their moments, their fights, their falling out.
• 1:09:20
SPEAKER_03: But President Biden has also said that he and Dr.
• 1:09:24
SPEAKER_03: Biden are praying for Lindsay's family and all who worked with him and knew him.
• 1:09:29
SPEAKER_03: And I join them in offering my deep and heartfelt condolences.
• 1:09:34
SPEAKER_03: I am just so grateful.
• 1:09:36
SPEAKER_03: I am just so grateful that my last memory of him is of him in his best place, seeing a pathway towards accomplishing yet another big goal.
• 1:09:47
SPEAKER_03: And as we walked back to the hotel, he turned to me and he said, I never dreamed, I never imagined I'd get to be a U.S.
• 1:09:55
  SPEAKER_03: senator.
• 1:09:56
SPEAKER_03: And I hope you, Chris Koons, won't give up on it.
• 1:09:59
  SPEAKER_03: Because it's a great place, it's a great institution.
• 1:10:02
SPEAKER_03: Change is gonna come, and we're gonna get a lot of great things done together.
• 1:10:07
SPEAKER_03: Well, my friend, I look forward to doing those things in your honor.
• 1:10:13
  SPEAKER_03: Thank you, Mr.
• 1:10:14
  SPEAKER_03: President.
• 1:10:14
SPEAKER_03: With that, I yield the floor.
• 1:10:18
SPEAKER_01: Under the previous order and pursuant to SRES 801, the Senate stands adjourned until 10 a.m.
• 1:10:25
SPEAKER_01: on Tuesday, July 14th, 2026, and does so as a further mark of respect to the Honorable Lindsey Olin Graham, late a senator from the state of South Carolina.
• 1:10:44
SPEAKER_23: Lindsay O'Griham, an American original.
• 1:10:53
SPEAKER_10: Don't take it for granted.
• 1:10:55
SPEAKER_14: Don't take a look at your political world mourning the sudden and shocking loss of South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham.
• 1:11:04
  SPEAKER_22: America's lost a statesman, but more importantly, I've lost a friend.
• 1:11:08
SPEAKER_22: Lindsay was just a powerful force for me.
• 1:11:11
SPEAKER_10: I would never do to this what you've done to this.
• 1:11:14
SPEAKER_10: This is the most politics.
• 1:11:21
SPEAKER_10: If you really wanted to know what you've done to this, you dedicate this country.
• 1:11:46
SPEAKER_24: But then over the years he's given me a lot of advice on how to be an effective United States Senator.
• 1:11:51
SPEAKER_24: He was a one in a million, someone who can laugh at himself and uh was a cut-up and a great wit and a great sense of humor.
• 1:13:04
SPEAKER_14: He's just changed his interest.
• 1:13:19
SPEAKER_10: Anybody in the military can tell you the risk can take principles and compromise are not mutually exclusive and the foundation of a great person as well as a great nation.
• 1:13:33
SPEAKER_10: If you want to help me, join the march.
