- 0:00Speaker 1: You are listening to the Mark Simon Show. W R.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Hey, let's take some calls. Eight hundred three to two
- 0:09Speaker 2: one zero is the number. Let's go to Jacob in Denver, Colorado. Jacob,
- 0:15Speaker 2: how you doing.
- 0:17Speaker 3: Hi?
- 0:18Speaker 4: So, there was a scene in the latest Nuremberg movie
- 0:21Speaker 4: called did You just Blackmail the Pope? And this is
- 0:24Speaker 4: where he accused the pope but starting something excuse me
- 0:27Speaker 4: nineteen three three with Adolf Hitler, which is a true story.
- 0:31Speaker 4: You would think that after this the popes would stay
- 0:34Speaker 4: out of politics.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Well they don't. There's been a number of times through
- 0:37Speaker 2: the years. You sound a little out of breath. You're
- 0:40Speaker 2: in Denver, right, there's no air up there, right.
- 0:43Speaker 4: Yes, Actually, I'm going to log onto my My daughter's
- 0:47Speaker 4: getting married in Israel, so I'm gonna be, oh, very
- 0:49Speaker 4: good looking onto the this dream very.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Good, excellent, Well, congratulations, thanks for Colin. Let's go to
- 0:55Speaker 2: Mike in Florida. Mike, how you doing?
- 0:59Speaker 1: Good morning, Mark, Mike. Just two quick things. One, leave
- 1:03Speaker 1: it to President Trump to finally bring peace between the
- 1:06Speaker 1: left and the Catholic Church and Christian in general. Another,
- 1:10Speaker 1: another feather at his cap. But the thing, the Swawall
- 1:14Speaker 1: case is interesting. It's a real to me, it's a
- 1:16Speaker 1: real classic mobster thing, you know, cloy They had something
- 1:20Speaker 1: on him, and they said to him, Okay, this is
- 1:22Speaker 1: what we have on you. Now you're gonna do our
- 1:24Speaker 1: dirty work for you. You're gonna be our henchman. You're
- 1:26Speaker 1: gonna go after Trump, you know, tooson Nail, You're gonna
- 1:30Speaker 1: bring up you know, you're gonna lead the charge on
- 1:31Speaker 1: the Russia collusion thing and all that stuff. And then
- 1:35Speaker 1: you know, we'll let you stay in office until we're
- 1:37Speaker 1: done with you. And then they took him into a
- 1:39Speaker 1: back alley and left them in a garbage bin.
- 1:43Speaker 2: Yeah, very good, Yeah, no, I agree, excellent. Yeah, he
- 1:47Speaker 2: was very useful till he started running for governor California,
- 1:49Speaker 2: got some traction, and he became so high in the
- 1:55Speaker 2: polls it's hard to explain. They have this what they
- 1:58Speaker 2: call a jungle primary in California, Republicans, Democrats all in
- 2:02Speaker 2: the same primary. But he rose up at his numbers
- 2:04Speaker 2: were high enough that it was screwing them up and
- 2:07Speaker 2: that it would have helped the Republicans in that primary.
- 2:09Speaker 2: It was dividing up the Democratic vote, so they had
- 2:12Speaker 2: to get him out of there, and apparently it wouldn't listen,
- 2:15Speaker 2: so they got him out of there. Let's go to
- 2:17Speaker 2: Sarah in Manhattan. Sarah, how you doing?
- 2:21Speaker 5: Hi, Mark, how are you good? But I just don't know.
- 2:26Speaker 5: You mentioned Hillary wanting to run yesterday, and she was
- 2:28Speaker 5: so dismissive about Monica Lewinsky and whether Bill should have resigned.
- 2:33Speaker 5: How does she think she's going to run with the
- 2:35Speaker 5: me too movement, the Epstein files, now the Swallowell files.
- 2:41Speaker 5: I don't know what planet she's on. Really, I can't
- 2:43Speaker 5: imagine any women, any woman supporting her.
- 2:46Speaker 2: Yeah, well, she was always the most delusional woman in
- 2:49Speaker 2: the world. Great point, Sarah, Thanks for calling. She was
- 2:51Speaker 2: always totally delusional. Yeah, she's doing she We think she's
- 2:54Speaker 2: running again. Yesterday she ran around doing a million interviews.
- 2:57Speaker 2: When Monica Lewinsky came up, it was it was, oh,
- 3:01Speaker 2: that's nothing, Oh that's okay, it was nothing. Meantime, she
- 3:06Speaker 2: and Bill fought over that so much. Remember was it
- 3:10Speaker 2: on the air or off the air? Here I had
- 3:12Speaker 2: some of their secret service here, the detail that protected
- 3:16Speaker 2: Bill during his time in the White House, and they
- 3:19Speaker 2: were telling me that it got so bad between the
- 3:23Speaker 2: Clintons in private that she would hit him. She once
- 3:26Speaker 2: threw a lamp at him, And in the Secret Service,
- 3:31Speaker 2: when you're protecting a president, you're not allowed to let
- 3:34Speaker 2: anybody hurt him or hit him. So they didn't know
- 3:39Speaker 2: what to do. This is his own wife hitting him
- 3:40Speaker 2: in private. So they were telling us they had to
- 3:43Speaker 2: go to the head of the Secret Service. They had
- 3:45Speaker 2: to have a meeting to decide what to do if
- 3:48Speaker 2: when she went after him physically, if it got brutal,
- 3:52Speaker 2: what would they do? It's his wife, do they stop her?
- 3:55Speaker 2: So there was a big meeting ahead of the Secret
- 3:57Speaker 2: Service everybody, and then they decided, yes, you would have
- 4:00Speaker 2: to restrain her. You would have to grab the first
- 4:03Speaker 2: lady and pull her away. You can't let her beat
- 4:06Speaker 2: up the president, which apparently she tried to do a
- 4:08Speaker 2: number of times. Let's go to Anthony and Staten Island. Anthony,
- 4:12Speaker 2: how you doing okay?
- 4:14Speaker 3: Mark? Could you clarify is it thirty million dollars for
- 4:20Speaker 3: one free grocery store or is it thirty million right
- 4:24Speaker 3: out over the five boroughs?
- 4:26Speaker 2: No, it's uh he's talking about he's talking about five
- 4:30Speaker 2: grocery stores. And he originally said it would cost seventy
- 4:34Speaker 2: million dollars for the five grocery stores, one in each borrow.
- 4:39Speaker 2: And now it turns out the first one will cost
- 4:42Speaker 2: thirty million, So that means that the total cost would
- 4:45Speaker 2: be one hundred and fifty million, not the seventy like
- 4:48Speaker 2: you said. So he's talking about thirty million for one
- 4:51Speaker 2: grocery store. And this is the easiest one because he
- 4:53Speaker 2: owns the space. It's free space. Now when he says
- 4:58Speaker 2: thirty million, you know it's the government. So by the
- 4:59Speaker 2: time they get it done, it'll be fifty eight million.
- 5:02Speaker 2: And it makes no sense at all. Every grocery store
- 5:05Speaker 2: owner told me that you could open a grocery store
- 5:07Speaker 2: for a million if you wanted to really go all out.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Two million mean to equip it, put everything in. So
- 5:15Speaker 2: where's the thirty million going? Obviously they'd hand out contracts.
- 5:18Speaker 2: This is like when the Deblasios tried that operation Thrive
- 5:23Speaker 2: or whatever the hell that was. A billion dollars was spent.
- 5:26Speaker 2: Nobody knows where the hell it went. Let's go to
- 5:29Speaker 2: rich Myrtle Beach. Rich.
- 5:30Speaker 3: How you doing, hey, thanks Mark. You know they asked
- 5:33Speaker 3: Pelosi if she knew anything about it, and you can't
- 5:35Speaker 3: tell she's lying because her face doesn't move anymore. Yeah,
- 5:38Speaker 3: you're looking at her, you know. You know if you
- 5:41Speaker 3: listen to the statement the woman made about swallow you.
- 5:43Speaker 3: So she said she didn't come forward for eight years
- 5:46Speaker 3: because first she was going to run for city council
- 5:48Speaker 3: in La Then he was going to help her with
- 5:50Speaker 3: a software company. And I guess all the stuff fell through.
- 5:53Speaker 3: So now they don't need him anymore. But now she'll
- 5:55Speaker 3: come forward after eight years because I guess she didn't
- 5:58Speaker 3: get what she wanted. You know, these women, they take
- 6:00Speaker 3: eight years, nine years. Look at the Kavanough one, the
- 6:02Speaker 3: one that went after Trump. I don't remember the day
- 6:04Speaker 3: of the year or where we were, but yeah, he
- 6:06Speaker 3: assaulted me. If these women can't come forward immediately or
- 6:09Speaker 3: within six months or a year, you can't believe and
- 6:12Speaker 3: these women what they're telling you anymore. And I want
- 6:14Speaker 3: to ask you one.
- 6:15Speaker 2: Sometimes sometimes that's the case. But sometimes, and we've seen
- 6:20Speaker 2: this before with Reid Hoffman, with other billionaires, sometimes a
- 6:23Speaker 2: billionaire finds them and says, I will hire you the
- 6:26Speaker 2: five finest attorneys in the world. I'll hire you an
- 6:29Speaker 2: army of pr people, bodyguard, and then they'll come forward.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Sometimes that's what it is.
- 6:33Speaker 3: But if she wanted to want the City Council of LA,
- 6:36Speaker 3: she wanted certain things. I guess she didn't get him. Well,
- 6:38Speaker 3: she lost the election. Now she wants to go after himself.
- 6:41Speaker 3: Let me ask you, have you seen these baby Trump memes,
- 6:44Speaker 3: these little videos, these baby Trump things on Facebook? Of
- 6:47Speaker 3: course they're hysterical. I just found them the other day.
- 6:49Speaker 3: I mean they got this guy down to a T
- 6:51Speaker 3: and the Kamala Harris. It's hysterical. People should go look
- 6:53Speaker 3: for these. They're biting up my day every day.
- 6:55Speaker 2: Yeah, they're all over Twitter, they're all over Facebook. They're great. Hey,
- 6:59Speaker 2: when we come back, we'll talk to Roger Friedman, the
- 7:02Speaker 2: great entertainment reporter. I don't know that rock and Roll
- 7:04Speaker 2: Hall of Fame, the Choices this year. We'll talk about
- 7:06Speaker 2: that and a whole lot more, and how's Broadway doing.
- 7:09Speaker 2: And we'll get to all of that coming up on
- 7:11Speaker 2: seven to ten wor
