F1 2025 Miami GP Recap & Emilia Romagna GP Preview - Fast Laps with the Boys · Banter with the Boys

• 0:00
laced up let's go it's time for banter with the
• 0:04
boys that's good or bad hey welcome back to banter
• 0:15
with the boys uh f1 what are we doing fast laps
• 0:18
that's what it's called where we got the miami
• 0:20
recap and the emila emilia romagna that's what
• 0:24
i meant uh emilia romagna Parmesan cheese. Let's
• 0:30
see. What happened? That's rough. Anyway, yes,
• 0:39
  we're here. I'm Smelty. That's good. Joe. I'm
• 0:43
Joe. Hey, Joe. And then Mike. Hello. Hi, Mike.
• 0:47
I'm here again. Mike got off work early even,
• 0:50
or like well before. Yes, sir. We thought this
• 0:54
was going to be a late one. And we ended up actually
• 0:56
being earlier than our normal time, so that's
• 0:57
awesome. Anyway, not that you guys care. I'm
• 0:59
rambling. Yeah, let's just head right into the
• 1:04
Miami GP recap. ah yes uh right into the gp recap
• 1:23
um yes we got the fp1 uh were those were those
• 1:29
year notes joe yes yes fp1 lay fp1 on us and
• 1:34
sprint quality while you're at it yeah sure all
• 1:36
those right into each that sounds great yeah
• 1:38
so uh I guess, like, the biggest, like, not really
• 1:41
headline, but, like, the clip that came out of
• 1:43
FP1 were the tools left in Lando's car after
• 1:46
he left the garage. I think they left, like,
• 1:48
two large lights. He had reported that they were,
• 1:50
like, knocking around his cockpit. So he got
• 1:53
back in. They pulled everything out. He was good.
• 1:56
So it was just, like, a little clip. That would
• 1:57
be rather annoying. Oh, I'm sure. Yeah. Imagine,
• 1:59
like, going full throttle, and you just have,
• 2:02
I mean, I would say broken bones, probably. I
• 2:05
mean, you're going mock Jesus in these things,
• 2:07
and you just got lights bashing around. There's
• 2:09
only like a top speed of like 210 miles an hour.
• 2:11
Only? I mean, that's not even, I do that every
• 2:14
day. I do that every day on my way to work. He's
• 2:17
over here, police. This is more of a weekend
• 2:23
note. Actually, maybe we'll touch on it when
• 2:25
we get to them. So I'll leave that. At the end
• 2:29
of free practice one, the only free practice
• 2:31
because we had a sprint, Ali Behrman did crash
• 2:33
with about four minutes, 30 seconds left in the
• 2:36
session. I think he just lost it. I don't think
• 2:39
there's really anything else to it. Yeah, I think
• 2:41
so. It is what it is. It is what it is. Going
• 2:44
into sprint quali, biggest notes, Yuki out in
• 2:47
SQ1. I just don't think he was able to set a
• 2:50
very good time. I mean, we'll touch on it, too,
• 2:54
when we get to the... gp and red bull as a whole
• 2:56
the car is just not great not great not great
• 2:59
um and then the last little note i had uh i believe
• 3:03
jack duane was released a little late and behind
• 3:06
his teammate um so there was some conversation
• 3:09
that he had to his engineer on the radio the
• 3:12
first and Last time, I think we're going to hear
• 3:15
Jack swear and a little angry on the radio with
• 3:18
his engineers because of how they released him.
• 3:20
I think it was to the point where he got to the
• 3:22
line and the flag had already been waved or something
• 3:24
like that. Probably just blew his whole GP. That's
• 3:27
why. Yeah. That's why it was bad. Definitely.
• 3:29
The only reason. It was definitely that reason.
• 3:31
It just overflowed into the GP. Absolutely. But
• 3:35
I mean, like, really, the most exciting part
• 3:38
of sprint qualifying, Antonelli Pole, the youngest.
• 3:43
to be on any kind of pole position in the sport.
• 3:47
  Isn't that crazy? A, it's insane. B, Antonelli
• 3:51
is quickly becoming my new favorite driver. The
• 3:54
dude is just effing electric. There's something
• 3:57
about Miami, man. Every race, okay, like the
• 4:00
last three races, he has slowly been, not slowly,
• 4:05
but he has been. starting to take more and more
• 4:08
chances. Like, some of them not as smart, right?
• 4:11
And that's just age and experience in F1, you
• 4:15
  would imagine. But, I mean, I don't know. It's
• 4:19
becoming, I better get up so I can watch what
• 4:22
Kimi Antonelli's going to do this week. Yeah.
• 4:24
You know what I mean? Definitely. There have
• 4:25
been people I've been talking about, though,
• 4:28
who have been seeing, like, us, we're all very
• 4:31
excited that Kimi did that. I'm very proud of
• 4:33
Kimi. But, like, there are a lot of people who
• 4:35
are like, It was a sprint quali. Does it even
• 4:37
really count? He had a good GP, too. He had a
• 4:40
good sprint. He had a good race quali, too. I'm
• 4:43
like, guys, it was still a qualifying session.
• 4:46
What did you think? They were holding back for
• 4:47
a qualifying session? He still beat the McLarens,
• 4:51
which nobody can apparently do right now. Yeah,
• 4:53
right. It was still an absolute fire lap. And
• 4:57
he took the record for the fastest lap on the
• 5:00
track so far. So that is the fastest that we've
• 5:03
seen come out of that track. a guy who's the
• 5:06
youngest pole setter ever. So like, I think people
• 5:10
got to give him a little more credit. Oh yeah,
• 5:11
definitely. I think his, his quality time, his
• 5:14
one lap pace is absolutely there. Definitely
• 5:16
needs a little work on his race pace. He lost
• 5:18
a lot of, a lot of positions both in the race
• 5:20
and the sprint and, and sprint. But his, his,
• 5:23
yeah, I mean, Miami was just a very good track
• 5:26
for him. Was this the first time he's driven
• 5:28
at Miami too? Literally first time ever. That's
• 5:30
insane. I think it was, uh, I think it was...
• 5:33
I was like, F2 didn't go there last year. I think
• 5:39
most of the rookies, I think this was their first
• 5:42
time here. There were a few other rookies who
• 5:45
have been here before, like, raced, like, FP1
• 5:48
sessions or stuff like that. But this was, like,
• 5:50
literally Kimmy's first time ever being in Miami.
• 5:52
So, like, and I think it was... Was it Jensen
• 5:55
Button or whatever was saying that, like, he
• 5:57
was talking to Kimmy before the race, and he's
• 5:58
like... Do you have any tips? Like, what am I
• 6:00
supposed to do here? I've never been here before.
• 6:03
And, I mean, to be fair, not to get into the
• 6:07
GP too much, but to be fair, I mean, still finishing
• 6:11
P6 is, you know, for the first time ever. Yeah,
• 6:14
you started P3. Totally. That's a negative three,
• 6:17
obviously. For a rookie, I would not expect less.
• 6:22
And, you know, yeah, letting Albon, you know.
• 6:25
beat you to the line but at the same time williams
• 6:27
had a great day we'll touch on them might yet
• 6:29
it'd be a mercedes issue not an antonelli issue
• 6:31
yeah yeah for sure but anyway where were we um
• 6:35
yeah the sprint i think i have a lot of notes
• 6:38
on the sprint um I actually wrote them all inside
• 6:42
our dock, and then I deleted them because it
• 6:44
was taking up so much of it. That's a good point.
• 6:47
I'll just run through them really quick. Go for
• 6:48
it. Very rainy on Saturday. Very rainy. The formation
• 6:52
lap started under the safety car and then ended
• 6:55
up in a red flag. About half an hour later, the
• 7:00
race started, I think. It started on lap three.
• 7:03
It was a standing start. Piastri, Norris, and
• 7:07
Verstappen all took Antonelli in the first corner.
• 7:10
Verstappen was noted for being out of position
• 7:12
at the start. We saw Sainz and Ocon having some
• 7:15
decent fights. Yuki was the first to pit for
• 7:17
slicks on the 11th lap. We saw, I think, another
• 7:21
big highlight from sprint, Verstappen and Antonelli
• 7:24
colliding in the pit lane from an unsafe release
• 7:26
from Verstappen. He did end up getting a 10 -second
• 7:29
penalty, which just brought him right down the
• 7:31
order. Sainz gets a puncture, has to retire.
• 7:38
Norris gets saved by the safety car that comes
• 7:42
out at the end of the race because Fernando did
• 7:43
crash after getting what I believe looked like
• 7:46
pit by Liam Lawson, just straight up. So Norris
• 7:50
was able to get the last pit under safety car
• 7:53
and just pull ahead of Piastri and win. So the
• 7:56
race finished under the safety car. Nothing no
• 7:58
one could do about that. Verstappen had to eat
• 8:01
the 10 -second penalty under the safety car,
• 8:03
so he just dropped down the order. Sprint final
• 8:07
was Norris Piastri Hamilton, Albon Russell Stroll,
• 8:10
Lawson, and Behrman. Lawson, after everything
• 8:15
he had done, still got into points. Isn't that
• 8:18
crazy? I can't believe that. That's wild. What
• 8:22
a rubbish. I do have like... Actually, no. I'm
• 8:27
so sorry. That's not true. There were penalties
• 8:30
after the race. Lawson did not. Yeah, you have
• 8:32
your finishing eight as Norris, Piastri, Hamilton.
• 8:35
  Hamilton, Russell, Stroll, Sunoda, Antonelli,
• 8:37
Gasly. Yeah, keep Gasly. After penalties and
• 8:41
after all that fun stuff, yeah, sorry. After
• 8:45
all the penalties, Liam Liamed. Love that. I'm
• 8:50
curious. There's been two major discussions that
• 8:54
I saw come out of this race or the sprint. First,
• 8:58
is how do you guys feel about potentially going
• 9:01
forward? Like this was, I think a lot of people
• 9:03
agreed, the most eventful sprint that we have
• 9:05
seen to date. Like this was a super fun sprint.
• 9:08
And I think one of the things that made it so
• 9:11
much fun was pits. And so there are a lot of
• 9:13
people talking like, maybe we should just start
• 9:15
doing a forced pit in the sprints and just force
• 9:19
like, kind of like how you have to take at least
• 9:21
one pit in a full length race. You have to take
• 9:24
one pit in the sprint, which now. Forces some
• 9:28
strategy onto teams, would allocate an extra
• 9:30
tire for the weekend to make up for it. Yeah.
• 9:32
But, like, and that's fine. Like, we could do
• 9:35
that. There's nothing wrong with that. And it
• 9:36
would force more strategy into what we're doing,
• 9:39
how late do we pit, because we can already cover
• 9:42
the whole sprint distance on one set of tires.
• 9:45
Like, it opens up a ton of new strategy on what
• 9:47
we can do. And a lot of people are talking about
• 9:50
it could be fun. And I'm kind of curious what
• 9:52
you guys take. I don't hate that. I don't hate
• 9:55
that. I do agree that the sprint was extremely
• 9:57
exciting. I don't hate it. Force pit. Yeah. I
• 10:04
mean. You're right in that the reason. You're
• 10:05
the devil's advocate today, Joe. Only a tiny
• 10:08
bit. You better be careful. Yeah, only a tiny
• 10:10
bit. I'm not going to rant about it. You're definitely
• 10:12
right. It was like the pit is probably what really
• 10:14
made it exciting, and that's because of the inclement
• 10:16
weather. So, like, obviously that also had a
• 10:19
play in it, but mostly because they had to pit.
• 10:21
So, yeah, I mean, it'd be interesting to see
• 10:23
how they do it. I mean, it's such a short race.
• 10:26
The sprint felt real NASCAR -ish to me. Sure.
• 10:29
In the sense of carnage. Yeah. You know what
• 10:30
I mean? Like, they were racing each other real
• 10:33
aggressive. almost arguably for me, almost more
• 10:37
aggressively in the sprint than the GP. And I
• 10:39
don't know why that was. I have a new pitch.
• 10:42
But pitch it. We make the track wet before the
• 10:46
sprint every time. I mean, it's just pure chaos.
• 10:51
Yeah. So that sounds funny. All right. Really.
• 10:55
And also, I forgot to mention Leclerc crashes
• 10:57
on the way to the grid, so he did not participate
• 10:59
in the sprint. Yeah. The other thing that I saw
• 11:04
people talking about with this was Max got really
• 11:08
the short end of the stick for, you know, the
• 11:12
unsafe release 10 second penalty and then being
• 11:15
forced to end under a safety car. Because of
• 11:17
that, it bunched all the cars up. And so it pushed
• 11:19
him from what was it like, like fifth, like fourth
• 11:22
or fifth and knocked him all the way down to
• 11:25
basically dead last. Right. And that really sucks.
• 11:31
I feel like in a situation like that, in rare
• 11:33
situations where you're finishing under a safety
• 11:37
car, they should do something slightly different
• 11:40
where a 10 -second penalty would have otherwise
• 11:43
have been roughly about a two -place grid penalty.
• 11:46
I think they should have just given him a two
• 11:47
-place grid penalty. I think it would have been
• 11:49
more than two places. It's still a sprint. I
• 11:52
don't know if they were that far apart from each
• 11:55
other. Maybe they were. I don't remember what
• 11:58
the gaps were. I see what you mean. If they start
• 12:01
imposing place penalties for races, it just gets
• 12:05
a little messy because like, what if, what if
• 12:08
he was. 20 seconds ahead of third or fifth, right?
• 12:12
And he gets a two -place grid penalty. It's like,
• 12:15
I would have cleared that with even the worst
• 12:17
penalty they could have given me. It just introduces
• 12:21
more variables or rather more flexibility, which
• 12:25
they shouldn't have. It should be set in stone.
• 12:28
It does suck. You're right. I mean, it wasn't
• 12:30
his fault either. It was his team's fault. But
• 12:33
the team's got to take that penalty and he's
• 12:35
just got to deal with it, unfortunately. To me,
• 12:37
it's like... It's a specific thing of like when,
• 12:40
if like a situation like this where somebody
• 12:42
has a penalty to serve, like when the race ends
• 12:45
under a safety car specifically, because the
• 12:47
safety car then bunches everybody together. So
• 12:49
that 20 second gap goes away. So like. At that
• 12:53
point, then under that circumstance, it feels
• 12:55
like we should change things because we're under
• 12:58
a weird circumstance already by finishing under
• 13:00
a safety car, which is something that the FIA
• 13:02
actively tries not to do. But if it is something
• 13:05
that happens, then maybe we should alter what
• 13:07
our penalties are because we're not in a racing
• 13:09
situation. We're in a safety car situation. Yeah,
• 13:12
I definitely see your point, and it kind of makes
• 13:14
me think, and I want to hear your thoughts on
• 13:16
this too, Smiltzy, because I'm interested in
• 13:17
if you have any ideas. Maybe they introduced,
• 13:22
like, before the safety car came out, this was
• 13:24
the time gap, like, right before. So because
• 13:27
of that, the 10 -second penalty will be reduced
• 13:30
in that setup. Oh, sure, yeah, that makes sense.
• 13:34
Because we finished under safety car. But then
• 13:36
you still have people that are like, that's unfair.
• 13:38
You're saying if somebody finished 20 seconds
• 13:40
ahead, still using that example? Yeah, yeah.
• 13:43
Like, yeah, if he was 20 seconds ahead. before
• 13:46
the safety car came out, but he had a 10 -second
• 13:48
penalty. But they finish under safety car. Instead
• 13:50
of putting him back all the way to the back of
• 13:52
the grid, they're just like, hey, you had 20
• 13:54
seconds right before the safety car, so we're
• 13:57
going to impose your 10 seconds on that, technically.
• 14:00
I think that's the most fair way to do it. If
• 14:02
  we're being real. It's messy, but I guess it's
• 14:06
the most fair. But at the same time, races are
• 14:09
races and anything can happen. Which is also
• 14:11
a fact. Liam Pitt Alonzo, do you think that's
• 14:15
fair? Alonzo? No, of course not. Before the safety
• 14:19
car, he didn't pit Alonzo, so Alonzo should actually
• 14:21
finish sixth, right? Yeah, sounds great. It introduces
• 14:24
Alonzo. It gets messy. Do you have any thoughts
• 14:29
about that, Smelty? If you could change the rule?
• 14:32
No. Not on this one. I like your thoughts. I'm
• 14:37
going to pitch you for director of FIA. I think
• 14:40
you'd be a good fit. Everybody just, whatever
• 14:43
you want. It's fine. Sounds good. Meanwhile,
• 14:48
Mohammed bin Salam is like, what's a smelty?
• 14:52
I just got word. He just introduced a rule that
• 14:55
actually doesn't allow you to be. I'm so sorry.
• 14:57
That's tough. It's crazy how that happens. Yeah,
• 14:59
wait. Oh, that's right. Yeah, yeah. We'll get
• 15:02
there. We'll get there. Oh, we're going to get
• 15:03
there. Yeah, because I can't wait to hear why.
• 15:07
Anyway, we'll talk about it. After I saw it,
• 15:10
I chose not to dig into it, so you can tell me
• 15:12
so I can react to that live. Anyway, what are
• 15:16
we at? We're at qualifying for the GP, so we
• 15:17
better hurry that along. You got any good notes
• 15:20
on that, Joe? No. Perfect. Wait a minute. Hamilton
• 15:27
out in Q2, both Williams and Ocon in Q3, just
• 15:30
because, you know, I mean, come on. That's it,
• 15:34
though. Nothing else. Oh, and then just before
• 15:36
race, Gasly starts in the pit lane. Do you remember
• 15:38
why? You know what? That'd be a good question
• 15:41
for an Alpine fan. Was it just... Did he he made
• 15:44
obviously was parked for make changes, right?
• 15:46
Yeah, like I was curious if you knew exactly
• 15:49
I mean it was an LP and he was gonna be in the
• 15:51
back. Anyways, whoa It just says do to set up
• 16:01
changes, yeah, okay that they just easy enough
• 16:04
He must have been pretty low that he went out.
• 16:06
He went out q1. I think I think he went I think
• 16:13
it was P18, actually, but you're right. Yeah,
• 16:15
Q1. So, like, at that point, just take your setup
• 16:18
changes and hope for a better race. Yeah, totally,
• 16:20
which is exactly what they ended up doing. Yeah.
• 16:25
Yeah. Anyway, McLaren. Take it away, Joe. Your
• 16:30
boys absolutely killing it. I mean, there's not
• 16:32
really any other way to put that. A race of their
• 16:35
own, right? Truly. Both of them are max Verstappen.
• 16:39
Both of them are Franz Herrmann, I should say.
• 16:42
They are so, I mean, 30 seconds ahead of P3.
• 16:48
And that was just Lando. Making Oscar almost
• 16:51
40 seconds. They didn't have to fight each other.
• 16:55
Piastri got ahead of Verstappen immediately.
• 16:57
Lando did have to fight him a bit. Yeah, exactly.
• 17:00
And those two laps, not even. It was like a lap
• 17:02
and a half. But of Lando and Max fighting, oh,
• 17:05
my God. It was so much fun. But you could tell
• 17:08
Max was fighting the heck out of that guy. Just
• 17:10
trying to stay up with him. Yes, yes. Lando had
• 17:13
a moment where I think he thought, or rather,
• 17:15
I mean, yeah, he thought he went off track and
• 17:17
gained advantage, so he gave Max the position
• 17:19
back. But, yeah, he did it so well. that he was
• 17:23
right on him at the next, yeah. It was really
• 17:25
good racing from McLaren. I mean, come on, no
• 17:28
notes, really. And I mean, Piastri, I mean, he's
• 17:31
quite literally, it's the definition of driving
• 17:35
away with the WDC right now. I mean, if I don't,
• 17:38
it's going to be really tough just getting that
• 17:40
dude's way. Even if you're Lando, like he, the
• 17:44
last few races, he's had way more pace than Lando
• 17:47
anyway. So I don't know, dog. We could be looking
• 17:51
at a brand new WDC champion already, and it's
• 17:54
freaking May. I just learned today, too, which
• 17:57
is interesting. Please play devil's advocate
• 18:00
on that. Oscar has won three races in a row now,
• 18:03
right? And he's looking for his fourth. And McLaren,
• 18:07
as a team, has never won more than four races
• 18:11
in a row. Interesting. More than four. And the
• 18:14
only driver to win four races in a row for McLaren
• 18:17
was Prost. wow so crazy so uh if just imagine
• 18:24
if oscar shows up guy in his third year ever
• 18:27
shows up and sets a record for such a tenured
• 18:30
team like mclaren that'd be so cool and you know
• 18:33
they have i mean they have two drivers that can
• 18:35
break their record they do and they're both gonna
• 18:37
be up there i think gleno's gonna have to work
• 18:39
for it a little more though I would agree with
• 18:42
that. I would agree. He's going to this point.
• 18:44
  I will. OK, listen, it's everyone. It's on everyone's
• 18:47
mind. I know this is easy to say this, right?
• 18:49
Oscar is doing so well. Well, yeah, because he
• 18:51
is. It's a fact. You know what I mean? He is.
• 18:53
No, he is. He is driving. He's driving better
• 18:55
than Lando. It's just it's just full stop. He's
• 18:58
driving better than Lando. That being said, Lando,
• 19:01
I think while he still has to drive well, it's
• 19:04
not going to be. I mean. You guys say he has
• 19:08
some work ahead of him. You're right. To get
• 19:11
to Oscar, he does, but his car is so fast. Oh,
• 19:14
it is. Oh, yeah. As long as he doesn't scuff
• 19:18
up quality, which they have a knack for doing
• 19:20
sometimes for some reason, he's in the race.
• 19:23
He's going. This is reminding me so far of Verstappen,
• 19:28
Checo, and then Louis Botas right now. Like,
• 19:33
they're so dominant that they're going to be
• 19:35
able to just hold their own. Lando almost has
• 19:37
two locked to me until Russell can put more pressure
• 19:42
on him. Yeah. Which I think could still happen.
• 19:45
Right. I do truly think George Russell could
• 19:47
probably battle Lando, and we could see some
• 19:50
fighting, some really good battling there the
• 19:52
rest of this season. Yeah, I would love to see
• 19:53
Mark kind of get up there more. And Max is just
• 19:56
going to, you know, be Max. He's going to be
• 19:58
in there somewhere. He's going to be in there
• 20:00
somewhere. Max could still get P2 as well. But
• 20:03
it's going to be fighting a really difficult
• 20:04
car. Right. Anyway, sorry. No, that's, I mean,
• 20:09
what else is there to say? It was a literal perfect
• 20:12
weekend, right? Yeah, for McLaren. Yeah, no doubt.
• 20:15
Mercedes, we already talked. George Russell finishing
• 20:18
P3. But Kimi Antonelli. I like what you said
• 20:21
here. His race craft, he needs to work on a little.
• 20:24
I think that hits it right on the head. That's
• 20:26
totally true. I mean, yeah, we saw it. He lost
• 20:28
positions almost immediately, both in race and
• 20:31
in quality. Well, the first couple turns in the
• 20:33
GP were quite interesting. He was, like, keeping
• 20:36
up with Max. I was like, what? Definitely. You're
• 20:39
right. And then it ended. But, I mean, his quality
• 20:41
was quick. Yeah. So quick. I don't know where
• 20:45
that came from. And then George was struggling
• 20:48
so much in qualifying. Right. Like, so much.
• 20:51
It was a bad weekend for George, and he came
• 20:53
up on the podium. And he's on the podium. And
• 20:55
in good George Russell fashion, happenstance
• 20:58
is his way into another podium. And I'm really
• 21:00
sad that I didn't take George on my podium this
• 21:03
week. Didn't you? I thought you did. You guys
• 21:05
did a really crazy job. Wow, we had a shakeup
• 21:07
there. I can't wait to get to that. That's right,
• 21:09
you had Charles. Holy crap. What a shakeup. Yeah.
• 21:12
Four point. Is that the first four point? No,
• 21:15
that's two four points in a row. All right, we'll
• 21:17
get to that. Mike's killing us, Joe. What the
• 21:20
heck here? He almost got... He was so close.
• 21:22
I was so close. We were watching the race together,
• 21:25
and he was so close to getting six points, and
• 21:28
I was just like... Joe was like, oh, no. I was
• 21:30
  like, I don't want... I want the McLaren 1 -2,
• 21:33
but I really can't have Max in third place right
• 21:36
now. Oh, my God. You'll figure out what we're
• 21:42
talking about in a second. If you're already
• 21:44
a fan, you know what we're talking about. For
• 21:45
real. Ferrari, Leclerc finishing P7, Lewis finishing
• 21:50
P8. Yep. Yep. I mean, that's... At this point,
• 21:56
I really had higher hopes for Ferrari and thinking
• 22:00
that they could battle. But, I mean, now Antonelli's
• 22:02
beating you pretty handily, it feels like. So,
• 22:09
I don't know. I think seven and eight, maybe
• 22:11
that is the most realistic thing we're going
• 22:14
to see from Ferrari this year. Like, I think
• 22:16
Leclerc, who knows? You know, I think he could
• 22:20
still, I don't know if he's going to get a podium,
• 22:22
though. I was fairly confident he could still
• 22:23
get podiums. But this is just like, they're consistently
• 22:26
where Aston was last year. Charles said over
• 22:31
the weekend that he's like, I think I got everything
• 22:34
I could have out of the car this weekend. I believe
• 22:37
him. He said, I don't think I can get more out
• 22:40
of that car. So, barring weird things happening,
• 22:43
they are... I mean, this is kind of what to expect
• 22:47
out of them. Like, 5, 6, 7, that's probably where
• 22:52
  they're at. I know they're bringing a really
• 22:55
  small upgrade to Imola, but I don't... I don't
• 23:00
think they can catch the Mercedes right now.
• 23:01
Yeah, I don't think they can catch the Mercedes
• 23:03
right now either. Barring weird situations happening,
• 23:05
the Mercedes starting on fire or something. Which
• 23:08
could happen. Yeah. You know, it's interesting,
• 23:10
though. Hamilton finished third in the sprint,
• 23:13
which kind of makes me think, what if their whole
• 23:17
issue is strategy? Right? What, Ferrari with
• 23:21
strategy issues? Isn't that crazy? No. Isn't
• 23:24
that wild? Ferrari's never had strategy issues
• 23:26
ever. That being said, doesn't account for them
• 23:29
being beat by Williams. But, you know, so there's
• 23:32
  that. There's that. I don't know what's going
• 23:33
on with Ferrari. I don't know. Maybe it was their
• 23:35
livery. It was just really ugly this weekend.
• 23:37
Yeah, it was not awesome. Too much paint on that
• 23:40
car. I would agree with that. What's this Team
• 23:42
Orders thing that you put in here, Joe? Oh, okay.
• 23:45
So I was going to ask first, do you guys have
• 23:47
any radio call -outs? for today no no okay then
• 23:51
we can just skip that section because this is
• 23:53
the only thing i had yeah so there was a portion
• 23:56
in the race where hamilton and leclerc were racing
• 23:59
together hamilton was on fresher i think soft
• 24:02
tires right uh medium or medium so he was on
• 24:05
mediums leclerc was on hards he asked to switch
• 24:08
with leclerc so he could try catching albon yep
• 24:11
i'm pretty sure um and they took forever to confirm
• 24:14
that switch um and he was getting very impatient
• 24:17
and calling him out on it um they finally did
• 24:20
make the switch like way too many laps later
• 24:22
and by that point Yeah, by that point, Hamilton
• 24:26
was like, I mean, he had already kind of like
• 24:27
burned through his tires a little bit more and
• 24:29
he could not catch him. So they told him to give
• 24:34
the position back to Claire, which he did, I
• 24:36
think, fairly quickly. But he was not happy about
• 24:39
the situation as a whole. So some of the radio
• 24:42
messages that we got from Hamilton during this
• 24:46
time. I just read one. Yeah. So this is. Yeah.
• 24:53
Leclerc was told to swap positions after three
• 24:55
laps of Hamilton asking. How did I miss this?
• 24:57
Hamilton says, I gave the position in China.
• 25:00
What are we doing? The engineer says, we are
• 25:02
working on it. Hamilton responds, have a tea
• 25:04
break while you're at it. Dude, that's. Right.
• 25:07
  That's like, I'm kind of paraphrasing. I don't
• 25:09
think that's exact quote. No, have a tea break
• 25:11
while you're at it. Come on. Quote. Yep. He did
• 25:15
say that. Lap 53. This is after Leclerc swaps
• 25:18
back with Hamilton. So Leclerc's now back in
• 25:20
front. Engineer gives him info, Hamilton info.
• 25:23
Signs 1 .3 behind. Hamilton responds, you want
• 25:27
me to let him pass too? Oh yeah, that one was
• 25:30
so good. Oh my gosh. Man. You want me to let
• 25:33
him pass? Oh yeah, you want me to let him pass
• 25:35
as well? That one I did see. It is so interesting.
• 25:39
Zesty. Uh, it's almost like, and we, we've seen
• 25:42
this right when like two years ago, Ferrari was
• 25:45
known for making the worst strategy calls. So
• 25:48
they basically gave the strategy to the drivers
• 25:50
to make themselves. It seems like they're trying
• 25:53
to take that control back a little bit. And I
• 25:55
don't think the drivers are doing well with that.
• 25:58
At least Hamilton's not, I didn't hear Pete from
• 26:00
the entire race, but seven time WDC. And now
• 26:03
you're going to. But he didn't have to do this
• 26:06
  at Mercedes, right? It's just, I don't know what's
• 26:10
going on. Then again, he never had a teammate
• 26:13
that could stack up to him at Mercedes. He was
• 26:15
either really had a Botas or he was a bit behind
• 26:19
Russell near the end there. We're just going
• 26:22
to say that Ferrari is in shambles. Ferrari is
• 26:26
in shambles. You know who isn't in shambles right
• 26:28
now, though? I'm giving you the greatest segue
• 26:32
I can here. For who? Next on my list is Max Verstappen.
• 26:37
We haven't talked about Williamson? No, I know.
• 26:40
That's because Joe made it. Not me. That makes
• 26:43
sense because your list is better, right? Well,
• 26:45
no, but I do the team based on the highest position.
• 26:50
That's the only reason. I didn't do that. I could
• 26:54
have made it, and I didn't make it. I'm sorry.
• 26:57
No, no. I'm sorry that I was doing a producer's
• 27:00
  job. I'm sorry I was doing a producer's job,
• 27:03
Kevin. Oh, wow. That's what I'm saying. Credit
• 27:10
me. Kev's just getting shots. He doesn't deserve
• 27:16
  this. Technical difficulties. Max Verstappen,
• 27:22
four. Yuki Tsunoda, ten. Okay. You should read
• 27:27
that first line. This is dad Verstappen. Is that
• 27:31
what we're calling him now? That's what I'm calling
• 27:33
him now. I'm either calling him dad Verstappen
• 27:35
or Franz Herr. You gotta say it when you wear
• 27:37
the shirt though. Crofty. Said something about
• 27:42
like like this is why Max Verstappen showing
• 27:45
us why he's the daddy or something like that
• 27:47
Daddy on the track. Yeah crazy like man. I don't
• 27:57
know great Yeah qualified Q1, didn't he? Can
• 28:03
we call him that when he's finishing P4? I mean,
• 28:05
it's still Verstappen. It was a great qualifying.
• 28:08
It was a good qualifying. I want to note this
• 28:12
earlier. Red Bull was running an updated floor
• 28:14
in Max's car, not Yuki's car. I guess that could
• 28:17
explain some of the distance between them. It's
• 28:21
Max Verstappen, let's be honest. I don't know
• 28:24
if that floor really worked well. I mean, Yuki
• 28:26
got a point. Yuki got a point. He fought for
• 28:29
the point, too. He got there, so I'll give him
• 28:30
that. He's still got beat by both Williams. Still
• 28:34
better than Liam. Still doing better than Liam
• 28:36
ever did. How about the Malpeans? No, we don't
• 28:39
even need that. Yeah, Gasly finished P13. After
• 28:42
starting in the pit, as we've mentioned. That's
• 28:45
actually pretty good, though. Yeah, the doing
• 28:48
  loss and thing. I mean. It's T1, right? That's
• 28:51
just. Turn one, lap one. Yeah, it was right away.
• 28:55
I mean, there's a reason why. colo pinto is going
• 29:00
to be in the car i mean unfortunately for jack
• 29:03
uh hopefully he gets another opportunity but
• 29:06
it could still be without him ran into lawson
• 29:09
right but to me it did unfortunately okay um
• 29:14
yeah um the best comment i saw coming out of
• 29:18
that i'm sorry um was the last full lap of the
• 29:22
race that do hand did was in the lego car yeah
• 29:25
yeah His last full lap of an F1 track. It's also
• 29:31
the happiest he's looked in the... That was hilarious.
• 29:36
I loved watching that back. It was so funny.
• 29:39
So funny. And taking a little bit of damage like
• 29:42
that. That cracked me up. And people are like,
• 29:44
oh, the people that spent so many hours are probably
• 29:47
so upset. And somebody else is like, absolutely
• 29:49
not. They're probably going crazy right now.
• 29:51
They're watching F1 drivers have the time of
• 29:56
their life in something they built. I'm sure
• 29:58
they were ecstatic. And Pierre Gasly, just the
• 30:00
best reactions. He was losing it. His laugh is
• 30:03
hilarious. It was so good. I know. It was awesome.
• 30:06
I loved that. If you have not seen that, you
• 30:08
need to go back and watch. It's totally worth
• 30:09
your time. Unlike watching Haas this weekend.
• 30:12
Ayo! Womp womp. Womp womp. I did actually have
• 30:21
one of my few notes about the races that actually
• 30:23
Ollie in the sprint. uh started p20 and raced
• 30:27
his way up to p8 before uh getting knocked down
• 30:31
to a penalty it was an unsafe release yeah 20
• 30:36
to 8 that's insane insane right i'm saying this
• 30:39
is insane did he get help from the the pit lane
• 30:42
or the pits at all He probably did, yeah. But
• 30:45
even so, he made a bunch of overtakes as well.
• 30:48
It's kind of funny looking at Oli. We're talking
• 30:50
about Kimi and how Kimi's got such great one
• 30:53
-lap pace, and he can put up a really good qualifying,
• 30:56
but his race craft isn't really there. I feel
• 30:58
like it's the opposite for Oli. I feel like Oli
• 31:01
is struggling in his one -lap, but man, his race
• 31:03
craft is good. Interesting. Watching this guy
• 31:06
race every single race is so cool. I got to lock
• 31:08
that in next race. I'm going to pay heavy attention
• 31:11
to Oli. I have not been paying attention to Ocon
• 31:14
basically at all because anytime I'm watching
• 31:16
  a Haas, I'm like, what's Oliver doing? That's
• 31:18
fair. He pissed me off last year. Why? Williams.
• 31:25
Williams. My favorite underdog. Yeah, Dave. What
• 31:29
a race. Actually, yeah. What an awesome race.
• 31:32
I mean. Battling, I mean, Albon up there. Albon
• 31:35
in fifth? Yeah. Sick. That's insane. So sick.
• 31:39
  That's crazy. The thing is, I don't think that's
• 31:44
actually an anomaly. I think they could actually
• 31:47
consistently beat out Ferrari going the rest
• 31:51
of the season, which actually sucks. That's crazy.
• 31:53
Because I had Ferrari. I know. I had Ferrari
• 31:56
up. Hold on. He's got to grab his notes. I have
• 32:00
the original paper. Where did I put Ferrari in
• 32:03
constructors? Second. We all put Ferrari in second.
• 32:06
Darn. We're all idiots. We're all bad. Because,
• 32:08
I mean, at this point, I could see Williams at
• 32:11
least starting to finish consistently higher
• 32:15
than Ferrari. Definitely battling. I mean, they
• 32:19
looked good all race, really. I do need to address
• 32:22
one thing, and this is a note that I did make
• 32:24
sure to write down, is vowels after the race
• 32:27
when he was talking about this, and their reporters
• 32:30
were asking, like, this is great, where did all
• 32:31
this pace come from? And vowels did state...
• 32:34
that this finish isn't going to be a normal thing,
• 32:38
and that this track is a special performance,
• 32:40
and that they have upgrades for very specific
• 32:43
tracks, that they believe that they'll be able
• 32:45
to put up performances like this again, but not
• 32:49
to expect this in every race. No, yeah, that
• 32:50
makes sense. Can we expect points then, at least?
• 32:53
  Oh, I'm sure. Like 9 -10, 8 -9 -10, somewhere
• 32:56
in there. Eight's pushing it? You know, I'm really
• 33:00
happy to see them up there. Because they looked
• 33:02
so fast this week. They did. They looked so good.
• 33:04
I was like, dang, they flipped a switch. I would
• 33:05
love to think that these upgrades will... Turns
• 33:07
out they didn't. They're going to turn it back
• 33:08
off. Yeah, I would love to think that these upgrades
• 33:10
will carry them through the next couple races,
• 33:12
at least close to points. To say that they're
• 33:15
going to continuously beat Ferrari, I just think
• 33:17
Ferrari's going to come back. I mean, they got
• 33:20
Imola coming out. A whole other half a season,
• 33:22
  right, essentially. Williams didn't actually
• 33:24
bring full upgrades. This was just a package
• 33:26
that they had for Miami. For Miami. Yeah, because
• 33:29
Val's has stated the fact that they're like,
• 33:31
we're not working on this car this year, guys.
• 33:33
  They're like, we're not upgrading. We're focused
• 33:35
on next year. They're like, this car, this performance
• 33:37
is just what we've got. So they're like, if the
• 33:40
people around us continue to upgrade. That's
• 33:42
not our problem. What a chance to come out of
• 33:44
the gate. Hot next year for Williams. They're
• 33:47
focusing on next year basically entirely. And
• 33:50
they've just got a couple of packages for a couple
• 33:52
of races. Like Miami was one that they are going
• 33:55
to show up with. But aside from that, it's just...
• 33:57
I just wondered if anybody got it. Don't antagonize
• 34:02
the poor boy. No, no, he didn't antagonize. He
• 34:03
just said something wild. I made his brain go
• 34:06
like... Wait a minute. Hold on. You need to stop
• 34:07
thinking about that and go focus on what the
• 34:09
heck he just said. I'm going to just ignore that.
• 34:14
Despite it just being a package from Miami, Williams
• 34:18
not doing horrible in general. In general, yeah.
• 34:20
So I'm hoping at least through this half of the
• 34:23
season they can do some. Do we have an updated
• 34:25
instructors pull -up? Yeah, I can pull it up
• 34:27
really quick. I'm screen peeking. What do we
• 34:30
want to see? Do we want to see what Williams
• 34:31
is at? Williams is fifth right now. Yeah, okay.
• 34:34
Right below Ferrari. How many points below Ferrari?
• 34:39
  Quite a bit. Like 27. That's a good distance.
• 34:42
How many points are they above six? 47 points.
• 34:44
They're 17 points above Haas. Yep. Yep. I mean,
• 34:48
they could absolutely... That's a good battle
• 34:50
right there, Williams and Haas. Yeah. I think...
• 34:55
I think those are the two frontrunners for fifth
• 34:57
right now. I think Williams is crawling away
• 35:00
with it. Haas has got to figure out. Haas could
• 35:02
absolutely catch him, especially if Vaughn's
• 35:04
going to come out and say that. Yeah, I mean,
• 35:06
do either of them finish in fifth, though? You
• 35:09
think Haas could finish in fifth? I think one
• 35:12
of those two teams is going to finish fifth.
• 35:13
Who's in seventh right now? Seventh is Aston
• 35:15
Martin, and I just don't see them. Right now,
• 35:18
they're not improving. They're not gaining any
• 35:20
traction. But then you have Racing Bulls. Who
• 35:23
could still flip the script? Alpine and then
• 35:26
kick Sauber. Kick is done. The only way Alpine
• 35:29
flips the script this season is if Colapinto
• 35:31
comes out hot. But, I mean, Gasly also hasn't
• 35:35
been finishing awesome. The car's not good. Gasly's
• 35:38
either. Qualified okay in at least half the races
• 35:42
this year, you know. But he can't get the car
• 35:45
to the finish, you know, in points. So, I don't
• 35:49
know. Yeah, they've got to fix the car. I'm not.
• 35:51
I don't think Alpine can make that jump as much
• 35:53
as I want them to, and I had them actually finishing
• 35:55
fifth. I mean, of the bottom... And you had Aston,
• 35:58
so... I do, and that was crazy of me. Of the
• 36:00
bottom five, I see... I don't see either Williams
• 36:04
or Haas finishing fifth. I see, like, an Alpine
• 36:07
or a Racing Bulls coming back somehow. Please
• 36:09
be Alpine. That's crazy. That would be awesome.
• 36:11
Because, like you said, Williams is not working
• 36:13
on the car, so it just doesn't really make sense
• 36:15
that they would keep it. It'd be cool if they
• 36:17
did, but, like... And if Racing Bulls... Hadjar
• 36:20
can absolutely battle for points with the likes
• 36:24
of Ali and Williams. I think he can wiggle his
• 36:27
way into that mix pretty easily. Lawson, I just...
• 36:30
I think there's a log jam right now between P8
• 36:33
and P12, and I don't think Lawson is going to
• 36:36
be part of that log jam. No. So racing bulls
• 36:39
for me would be tough to climb up there. Alpine
• 36:42
started okay. They had a future for this season,
• 36:48
but that's quickly going away from them as well.
• 36:52
They'd need a really crazy flip, and I just don't
• 36:56
know right now. Yeah, and Aston Martin needs
• 36:58
  to... I don't think Aston's pulling through.
• 37:03
  I don't think Aston's even in question. I think
• 37:05
you could see, I mean, yeah, we saw Hulkenberg
• 37:09
finish in front of him this week, but that could
• 37:11
be normal. It could be. I think at this point,
• 37:14
  Bortolato, I don't know. He's finished race,
• 37:16
but the car sucks. I think I've mentioned this
• 37:18
in a previous episode, but when you look at Williams
• 37:21
versus Haas, you look at Haas, which should be,
• 37:23
I think, a better car technically. Than Williams?
• 37:25
Versus Williams, which has, in my opinion, better
• 37:28
drivers. Oh, yeah, for sure. So it's a very interesting
• 37:32
mashup between the two. He didn't say that Miami
• 37:37
was the only package they're bringing. Correct,
• 37:39
yeah, they do have a couple other packages in
• 37:41
the future. They just need to hit really, really
• 37:44
hard for just three more races, and then they
• 37:47
have fifth pretty much locked, I think. I think
• 37:49
they're a good contender. I mean, think about
• 37:52
it. If you're finishing, what was it, fourth
• 37:54
and eighth or fifth and eighth? Fifth and ninth,
• 37:58
yeah. And then you just have the top four teams
• 38:00
filling in the rest of the gaps. How is anyone
• 38:03
going to get you? Who's going to catch you? Okay,
• 38:06
I see. The only people that are there are going
• 38:09
to be the top four teams. And then you've got
• 38:11
Max and then Yuki should be getting 10. I mean,
• 38:14
17 points, though. There are 17 points above
• 38:17
Haas. How many points did you say Williams has
• 38:19
right now? 37. 37? I mean, Aston last year finished
• 38:25
with 94 points in fifth. So they're already a
• 38:28
third of the way to where Aston finished last
• 38:29
year. This was... This was round seven, right?
• 38:33
Round six? This was round six. How many races
• 38:36
do we have? 22? 24. 24 races? Yeah. So we're
• 38:40
a fourth of the way there. We're a fourth of
• 38:41
the way there. And they're a third of the points.
• 38:44
Smeltsy, that's very interesting. They're not
• 38:49
going to do this every single race. They're the
• 38:51
third of the way there, but they could have a
• 38:54
losing streak of just no points. I'm looking
• 38:59
forward to this fight, though. This Williams
• 39:01
-Haas... Throw Alpine in there just to be fun.
• 39:05
I do hope that Alpine does make a comeback because
• 39:08
now that Okan's off the team, I can start liking
• 39:10
him a little bit more. You just did not like
• 39:12
Okan, huh? don't care for the guy, you know?
• 39:15
  I don't know what it is. He's a bit of a prima
• 39:17
donna. I don't know what it is. He's been pretty
• 39:19
chill ever since joining Haas, though. Well,
• 39:22
we touched on Kick and Aston. We don't need to
• 39:24
talk about them. We talked about the radio for
• 39:28
Hamilton, which was pretty much the only comms
• 39:30
we heard this week. So, Kev, let's head right
• 39:34
over into our news. And to start off our news,
• 39:53
as the resident Alpine fan, Oliver Oaks resigns.
• 39:59
There is some controversy. There is rumors about
• 40:03
Flavio disagreeing with Oaks and pushing him
• 40:07
out the door. Everything has been false so far,
• 40:11
but the controversy is, I mean, that part of
• 40:13
it is fairly true. with uh oaks's brother william
• 40:17
i believe his name is uh being arrested william
• 40:20
is a president of uh high tech yeah yeah high
• 40:24
tech so um and then there's yeah what's the thing
• 40:28
there's something related with the mazapan family
• 40:30
like i thought william bought something that
• 40:35
the mazapan family used to own like a share in
• 40:37
something or something i can't remember what
• 40:39
i what i think i was hearing was that they were
• 40:41
basically using like high tech to launder money
• 40:44
oh boy i did not hear that deep into it yeah
• 40:48
so it sounds like it's yes money laundering yeah
• 40:50
so the mazpins were basically money laundering
• 40:53
through high tech with william and uh that's
• 40:56
why ollie or oliver oaks was like got out and
• 41:00
like basically right after miami like didn't
• 41:02
stick around for any press conferences nothing
• 41:04
just on a plane boom out to saudi arabia So he's
• 41:10
gone. And, yeah, a lot of people are very interested
• 41:14
right now because they're like, wow, was Flavio
• 41:16
not the bad guy for once? Like, was Flavio actually
• 41:19
in the right for once? And Flavio came out and
• 41:21
said that it was nothing to do related to the
• 41:24
team, which, I mean, obviously with this news
• 41:26
coming out, we can probably gather that, you
• 41:29
know. Because what's his name? Mazepin's dad,
• 41:32
  I can't remember. Mika? No. I think you're...
• 41:35
I got it. Anyway, he was like... Daddy Mazepin.
• 41:38
UK was like... Oh, what's the word for it? Nikita
• 41:43
Mazepin. What's the word for it? Oh, it is Nikita,
• 41:46
huh? Oh, wait. Essentially... No, Dmitry Mazepin.
• 41:48
Essentially trying to blame Dmitry because he's
• 41:51
close to Putin and stuff for the Ukraine war
• 41:53
and all this stuff. So it's getting bad. It's
• 41:56
getting bad. So yeah, all the oaks decided to
• 41:58
dip out, whether he's involved or not. That's
• 42:02
all it would end up being about anyway, so it
• 42:04
kind of sucks for him. Let's just say, let's
• 42:07
hope he's not involved. Let's see. Jack Doolin,
• 42:12
out. Colpinto in for the next five races. I feel
• 42:18
like that was going to happen as soon as Flavio
• 42:20
took over. I mean, we knew that was going to
• 42:23
happen, and honestly, Colpinto's probably going
• 42:26
to do a better job than Jack. Just even from
• 42:30
the slight experience he had. Now, we liked him
• 42:32
when he came in a couple times last year, right?
• 42:34
How many races did he have last year? Colapinto?
• 42:37
Yeah. I think he had at least five or six, I
• 42:40
think. Yeah, and I feel like the first few races,
• 42:43
I'm saying first two races, we were pleasantly
• 42:47
impressed, like, wow, okay. And then he ended,
• 42:49
and he kept wrecking, kept wrecking, kept wrecking.
• 42:52
So I'm hoping it's going to be better. than what
• 42:56
Jack was given Alpine to start this season. I
• 43:00
think he'll definitely do a little bit better.
• 43:03
I think his big issue... Because he was in the
• 43:05
Williams last year, right? Yeah. I think his
• 43:06
big issue last season is that he had a lot of
• 43:08
pressure on him. In the fact that he's like,
• 43:12
I know... To try to obtain a seat? Yeah, he's
• 43:15
like, I know I don't have a seat, and this is
• 43:16
really my chance to show what I'm worth. And
• 43:19
he pushed himself really hard. And he actually
• 43:21
took credit for his Las Vegas crash, saying,
• 43:23
yeah, I was pushing myself harder than I should
• 43:26
have, because I know that I need to try and make
• 43:28
a name for myself here. I really like that point.
• 43:32
Yeah. I think he's... slotting into this seat
• 43:34
right now way more comfortable than he was in
• 43:37
the in the william seat so i think he's gonna
• 43:40
come in with a with a different mentality very
• 43:42
much more relaxed and comfortable like i know
• 43:45
i've got my seat i know i've got a team that
• 43:47
wants me to be here you know so interesting oh
• 43:52
here it comes yeah he gives me this look all
• 43:54
the time i think I think the biggest thing I
• 43:58
want to talk about is how much he loves Jack
• 44:00
and Liam so much that he wants to, like, Cadillac
• 44:05
needs to have them and then Logan Sargent's the
• 44:07
reserve. It all leads back to Logan. And then
• 44:10
Mick. Mick Schumacher. I have news on Mick. So
• 44:16
we'll come back to Mick. So the biggest thing
• 44:21
that I want to talk about. is that they are calling
• 44:23
this a rotate seat so you said he has a seat
• 44:26
but he really doesn't have the seat but he does
• 44:29
they could be calling it a rotates a rotate seat
• 44:32
just to make jack feel better or make his swapping
• 44:35
look better and then it could keep colapento
• 44:37
I'm just going to say it. I don't think Colapinto
• 44:39
is going to do any better than Jack did in five
• 44:41
  races. I don't either. I don't think it's a problem
• 44:45
with the drivers. It's not a problem with the
• 44:48
drivers. It's a problem with the car. Well, there's
• 44:50
a couple of things that Jack has done that I'm
• 44:52
like, whoa. But I don't think Colapinto is going
• 44:55
to be like worlds better than him. Probably not
• 44:58
worlds. So I'm interested in when they say rotate
• 45:02
seat and they are like, when I was reading about
• 45:05
it for the first time, they were pitching it
• 45:07
as a strategy of like, we want the seat to be
• 45:11
like a rotating seat where we can bring talent
• 45:13
in and out. throughout the season to build up
• 45:16
to fy 26 fy 20 i'm so sorry i'm talking work
• 45:19
to why 2026 i don't um sorry that was crazy um
• 45:25
2026 so they're they're trying to figure out
• 45:27
who best who best slots in the seat yeah so they're
• 45:30
doing tryouts right now essentially live trouts
• 45:32
which is crazy actually right i mean without
• 45:36
telling the drivers that right like that's That's
• 45:40
probably the best way to do it. That's what Flavio
• 45:42
said, though. He was like, we want this seat
• 45:44
to be rotating so we can take drivers in and
• 45:46
out to figure out who best fits our team for
• 45:50
the new regulations. Which is so interesting.
• 45:53
It's also worth noting. I was hearing today that
• 46:00
there are rumors going around that in like...
• 46:03
Some of the test runs that they were doing. The
• 46:06
other driver they have is Paul Aaron, their other
• 46:08
reserve driver. I'm sorry, Paul Allen. I guess
• 46:14
there were rumors going around that Paul Allen
• 46:17
was putting up better times in the Alpine than
• 46:19
Franco was, which could also be part of why...
• 46:23
Is he part of the rotating team? Are we going
• 46:25
to see a third driver in the Alpine? I think
• 46:27
we are. It could be why Flavio was like, okay,
• 46:29
you know what? Colapinto, we put all this effort
• 46:32
into him, and he's a big name, and we want to
• 46:34
put him in the seat. So we're going to rotate
• 46:35
him in and give him a couple races, and if it's
• 46:38
not working out, whatever, he's not scoring us
• 46:40
points. We'll try and put Paul Allen in and see
• 46:43
how he's doing and see if maybe he's a little
• 46:45
bit faster. You know what? They're all the same,
• 46:46
Jack. Get back in there at the end of the season.
• 46:48
You know, let's just give Logan a call. Ooh,
• 46:51
man. Mick? Mick? So say the Mick Schumacher,
• 46:56
and then we'll talk about NBA. I mean, Mick Schumacher,
• 46:59
I mean, I guess I'll let you, you probably have
• 47:01
more red on, like, you might have like a better
• 47:04
point to say. I just know what he's doing right
• 47:05
now. I just, oh, I, yeah, I heard that. Where's
• 47:09
my, where's my note on it? So actually Mario
• 47:11
Andretti had made a comment that Mick Schumacher
• 47:16
has potential as a contender for the Cadillac
• 47:18
spot. Oh. And so Andretti is. Andretti is trying
• 47:23
to potentially push for, or not push for, but
• 47:25
is talking about, like, we can't rule out Mick
• 47:27
in this seat. And when talking about it, he pointed
• 47:30
out the fact that in World Endurance, which I
• 47:33
think is what you were probably going to bring
• 47:34
up, he's gotten two podiums out of the three
• 47:36
races. So he's actually been doing really, really
• 47:39
well in endurance. And so it's been kind of turning
• 47:42
some heads, being like, maybe Mick has got a
• 47:44
little bit of gas in the stove still. And we've
• 47:47
preached PR with Danny Rick and Sergio. Right.
• 47:52
Why not? You have preached that. Why not? Why
• 47:54
not? The biggest name in F1 and Schumacher of
• 47:57
all, possibly all time. One of the biggest names.
• 48:00
Let me calm down. One of the biggest names in
• 48:02
F1. One of the biggest last names. Yeah. Right.
• 48:05
One that, you know, dumb American fans, no offense
• 48:08
to us, would be like, oh my God, we're going
• 48:11
to be a Schumacher. We're going to be. Well,
• 48:17
yeah, so, like, what's... That's exactly it,
• 48:19
though. Mick, after his time with Haas, lost
• 48:23
some of his, like, sponsors that he had that
• 48:26
got him into Formula One. And so that's part
• 48:29
of the reason he went to World Endurance, because,
• 48:30
like, he lost that sponsorship, he lost all interest,
• 48:32
whatever, or other teams and sponsors lost interest
• 48:35
in him. I would imagine he also got swapped for
• 48:39
Valtteri as a reserve driver, too, so that probably
• 48:41
freed him up to do other stuff. So... Taking
• 48:47
him is a bit of a gamble because they don't get
• 48:51
as much sponsorship money out of him, and that's
• 48:53
something that a lot of teams need to think about,
• 48:55
especially nowadays, which only furthers my ambitions
• 48:58
that they're going to take Checo as their other
• 49:00
seat, a pay driver who gets paid very well from
• 49:03
big Mexican sponsors. How good would it be if
• 49:07
they had Sergio and Mick Schumacher? Checo spotted
• 49:13
in Miami. Checo's in Miami. He wasn't. Checo's
• 49:18
in Miami for the upcoming Cadillac reveal. He
• 49:21
was in Miami. Crickets. Nothing. Nothing happened.
• 49:25
The reveal was stupid. The reveal was stupid.
• 49:28
The reveal was dumb. I didn't even see it. It
• 49:30
was stupid. It was just like a video. It was
• 49:32
just a video. Terry Crews was there. I think
• 49:35
some of the artists were there. So he's racing
• 49:36
next year. Yeah. Terry Crews. They fit him in
• 49:39
a car somehow. The Cadillacs are going to be
• 49:41
bigger cars than all the other cars on the track.
• 49:44
I mean, true to nature. Just like the NASCAR.
• 49:49
The Camaro in the WEC. The Camaro at Le Mans.
• 49:53
Yeah, that was. crazy um those pictures blow
• 49:56
my mind yeah they were yeah it's yeah you don't
• 49:58
realize like how like car size you think that
• 50:01
those prototype cars are like huge but they're
• 50:03
truly car sized yeah yeah um no yeah that's yeah
• 50:08
i i still think i feel like honestly mick is
• 50:11
a better choice or a more logical choice than
• 50:14
checko or danny that's crazy you're right though
• 50:17
checko would bring in way more money if that's
• 50:20
what they were what they're looking for and maybe
• 50:21
maybe they should be But I feel like a fresh
• 50:24
driver looking for a good name as well, Mick
• 50:27
would be a pretty good choice. I just don't think
• 50:29
they're going to pick Checo. They'd start selling
• 50:30
a lot of Cadillacs in the U .S. more so if Checo
• 50:33
became part of it. Maybe, yeah. Interesting.
• 50:36
Okay, so yeah, that was not my point. I was going
• 50:39
to move Mick. I was going to mention Mick is
• 50:40
currently racing in Alpine Hypercar in WEC, doing
• 50:44
very well. I think he just did the... Was it
• 50:47
12 hours of Spa? I think he did decently. He's
• 50:52
on the podium, I thought. That Alpine WEC has
• 50:56
not been a great car to drive, so he's doing
• 51:00
it well. How many drivers are in the 12 -hour
• 51:02
one? It's not just how many drivers, but how
• 51:06
many cars, because there's three different classes
• 51:08
of cars that are driving at the same time, or
• 51:10
four different classes of cars. Don't they use
• 51:13
four drivers for the 24 -hour races? Per car?
• 51:17
Per car, yeah. It's like two to three, I think.
• 51:19
I thought it was four. Okay, never mind then.
• 51:21
I think I want to say it's two to three. They
• 51:22
probably still use the same two to three then
• 51:24
for the 12 -hour. Yes. Yeah, so never mind. Yeah,
• 51:26
so like K -Mag is also in that series as well.
• 51:30
He's in the BMW currently, and he's also been
• 51:33
doing very well. Much like Antonelli, his qualifying
• 51:37
is incredible, but their race craft is not very
• 51:40
good. It's like they're former F1 drivers. Yeah,
• 51:42
the former F1 drivers tend to do very good unless
• 51:45
they're Nick DeVries. I see usually in these
• 51:47
endurance races. Oh, his other buddy. He loves
• 51:50
that one. Who loves that one? Nick DeVries. I
• 51:53
don't like Nick DeVries. Moving on. MBS, lay
• 51:58
it on us. What's the deal here? And then we're
• 52:00
going to skip the last thing. So I have to give
• 52:01
credit to Mike for finding this. There was a,
• 52:07
I guess maybe a rumor or something, Carlos Sainz
• 52:11
Sr. People were bidding him to take MBS's spot,
• 52:16
saying that he could run for it. And I think
• 52:19
he maybe indicated a little bit of interest somewhere.
• 52:22
I don't know if there's any validity to that.
• 52:24
That being said, today... MBS came out and is
• 52:29
proposing changes to the statutes of the governing
• 52:32
body that would essentially, without getting
• 52:34
into the nitty gritty, not allow that to happen
• 52:36
because it would be a conflict of interest. But
• 52:39
he's making that? Yes. So the current president
• 52:42
makes rules. So that means Toto's wife couldn't
• 52:44
do it either. Yes. Yeah. She already came out
• 52:47
and said she wouldn't, but the current president
• 52:49
is making rules saying, the current FIA president
• 52:53
is coming out and making rules saying that Future
• 52:57
people couldn't become the current FIA president.
• 53:02
That's not how that's supposed to work, Joe.
• 53:04
It's not. No. That sounds like a dictator. I
• 53:10
did go check it out. Carlos Sainz Sr. did confirm
• 53:15
that he was seriously considering running for
• 53:17
the position. So it was confirmed by him that
• 53:20
he's like, yeah, I am very seriously thinking
• 53:22
about doing this. So what if Carlos Sainz was
• 53:24
no longer racing? Then what? He could probably
• 53:26
do it. He could do it. I think so. His son would
• 53:29
probably be less than happy because his son would
• 53:32
get the short end of the stick here. Williams
• 53:35
would probably be really unhappy because they'd
• 53:36
lose their driver. No, no, no. I'm not saying
• 53:38
like, hey, Carlos, you need to quit so I can
• 53:40
do this thing. That's definitely not what I'm
• 53:42
saying. I'm just saying like 10 years down the
• 53:44
road and Carlos is done racing and it was still
• 53:47
a thing. Yeah, then Senior could in theory run
• 53:51
for it. Interesting. Yeah, so this is pretty
• 53:55
scummy. I do have other news about MBS as well,
• 54:00
something that came out prior to this. Yeah,
• 54:02
more MBS news. I love it. Because there's always
• 54:03
something with MBS. He goes to be so cool. He
• 54:08
stated that the FIA is going to work on toning
• 54:13
down the rules for Appendix B. which is that
• 54:18
ruling about drivers cussing on, like, over radio
• 54:21
and in press conferences and things like that.
• 54:24
Toning it down, but we just get rid of it. So,
• 54:26
yeah, I agree. But, which, there's actually a
• 54:29
lot of... speculation that they're going to get
• 54:32
rid of it but they can't until they're between
• 54:33
seasons they can't they can't make major rulebook
• 54:36
changes until they're between season that so
• 54:39
they're just going to dial down and kind of lay
• 54:41
back off of appendix b right now so that like
• 54:43
like ollie made a quote stating that he's like
• 54:46
i can't mess this up because i could in theory
• 54:49
get fined for almost my entire year's pay oh
• 54:52
yeah so he's like he's like like what i make
• 54:56
from my team is almost how much the fine is so
• 55:00
And that's why, like, ever since that has come
• 55:02
out, they've been getting a lot of negative press.
• 55:04
Interesting. I did not hear that about Oli. Yeah.
• 55:06
So MBS has come out and he's like, yep, the FIA,
• 55:10
we're going to back off on that just a little
• 55:12
bit. We're still going to enforce it. But, like,
• 55:14
maybe if you mess up, we'll just, like Max, send
• 55:17
you to go do community service or something.
• 55:20
Which is still so dumb. We aren't going to fine
• 55:22
you a million dollars. I don't think Max did
• 55:29
community service. We would have heard if he
• 55:32
did it. I don't think he did. He said he wasn't
• 55:33
going to do it. That's funny. At least I think
• 55:36
Hamilton said Max shouldn't do it. I wouldn't
• 55:39
do it. I hope he didn't. That would be way funnier.
• 55:43
Yeah, that's crazy. I was starting to type, did
• 55:45
Max Verstappen, and it said win. Come on. Come
• 55:48
on. I mean, yes. Over, under. That is interesting.
• 55:52
It makes me think if they are going to kind of
• 55:55
hold back or rather pull back on their regulations
• 55:57
of what people can say. I think another big part
• 56:00
of it is probably because Max has refused to
• 56:02
just talk during interviews. He's just refused.
• 56:07
He's like, I'm not going to talk about that because
• 56:09
I'll get in trouble. That's like his main line
• 56:11
now. And that's probably not great either. No,
• 56:14
that's terrible press. That's worse. AI overview.
• 56:19
Okay. We always trust AI. Correct. Always. It's
• 56:24
2025. Come on. Yes. Max Verstappen completed
• 56:27
his community service penalty in Rwanda. He served
• 56:31
his punishment before the FIA Awards Gala, where
• 56:34
he received his fourth championship title. So,
• 56:37
yeah. I don't know what he did, but apparently
• 56:39
he got it done in Rwanda. Huh. Okay. Props to
• 56:45
him, I guess. Sorry. I don't know. Sorry, Kev.
• 56:50
  This is absolutely ridiculous. Unprofessional.
• 56:54
Yeah. Yeah. Well, it was a video of Max just
• 56:56
happening in Rwanda doing community service.
• 56:58
I wanted to see that. Oh, fair. It's just him
• 57:00
talking at a microphone. So he probably gave
• 57:02
a speech and they were like, that's good. Good
• 57:05
job. And now he's driving a car in Rwanda. I
• 57:08
do. Okay. No. He does not do anything. I mean,
• 57:13
did the community like it? They must have. He
• 57:16
was servicing the community. That's true. I'm
• 57:19
going to go in a circle for four hours. But he's
• 57:21
driving it. Yeah. So I do have one other quick
• 57:24
note, too. And I told you about this ahead of
• 57:27
time. But I did also hear as well that Red Bull
• 57:31
has been trying to commune with the FIA and try
• 57:37
and push back some of the regulations on next
• 57:39
year's engine and change some of the rulings
• 57:43
because they are. Red Bull is trying to do this?
• 57:45
Yes. They are afraid of how much the engine uses
• 57:49
battery and how that will affect the engine on
• 57:52
large straights and in high altitude locations.
• 57:55
We're afraid everybody's going to be on the same
• 57:58
playing field as us. That's the problem. That's
• 58:01
what it is to me. I think what it is is that
• 58:03
Red Bull is secretly like, oh, crap. uh the ford
• 58:08
engine is not panning out to be as powerful as
• 58:11
we want and they need more time to work on it
• 58:13
so we need to make some changes that benefit
• 58:15
us so please that's not gonna happen that's so
• 58:17
funny uh I read a news article today. I'm not
• 58:20
saying you're wrong. I think maybe they're backtracking
• 58:22
or trying to do some PR. I read a news article
• 58:24
today where Ford came out and said, yeah, the
• 58:26
engine stuff is going great. They came out and
• 58:30
were like, yeah, I feel like obviously we don't
• 58:32
have the whole thing done, but things are proceeding
• 58:34
really well. We're getting information fed to
• 58:37
us and we're getting ready. We're basically building
• 58:40
parts to test now and it's going well. Hearing
• 58:43
that, I'm like, whoa, maybe that was just PR.
• 58:46
Maybe it is. I don't know. I don't know. Maybe
• 58:48
Red Bull is just blowing smoke out their butts
• 58:51
or something. I don't know. Maybe they're just
• 58:53
trying to hassle the rest of the team as Red
• 58:56
Bull likes to do. Typical. Or the rest of the
• 58:59
grid, I mean to say. All right. All right. We
• 59:01
got to move on. Preview, Kev. Preview. Just send
• 59:04
it whenever you're ready. That sounds good. Joe,
• 59:06
you ready? And it is time to go up to speed for
• 59:23
the Formula One AWS Gran Premio del Made in Italy
• 59:27
e del Emilia -Romagna 2025. Say that five times
• 59:31
fast. You killed that. I'm really glad I'm not
• 59:34
trying to say those anymore. Yeah, I mean, I
• 59:37
think this is the one we mentioned last year,
• 59:39
too, of like, that was a mouthful. That was a
• 59:41
mouthful. All right. As a fun fact, per usual,
• 59:45
this circuit has been known by three different
• 59:47
names. Autodroma di Imola, Autodroma Enzo e Dino
• 59:52
Ferrari, and Emilia -Romagna Circuit. I just
• 59:56
call it Imola. I'm going to mention Imola a lot.
• 59:58
I wrote Emilia -Romagna a lot because I think
• 1:00:01
that's technically what it should be called,
• 1:00:02
but it'll forever be Imola to me. That's the
• 1:00:04
technical name. Yeah, it's going to forever.
• 1:00:07
  I think it's because it's the region that they're
• 1:00:08
in. I don't know. Right. Our starting grid for
• 1:00:13
last year's race is Max to Lando, Charles to
• 1:00:16
Carlos. We go racing at Emilia -Romagna, and
• 1:00:19
Max keeps his lead ahead of Lando. Both Ferraris
• 1:00:22
side -by -side and close behind them, trailed
• 1:00:24
by Oscar and a pair of Mercedes. An incredibly
• 1:00:27
clean start from every driver in the field through
• 1:00:29
the first corners, the only one to gain positions
• 1:00:31
in the top 10 being Hamilton, moving ahead of
• 1:00:34
Yuki. It is smooth sailing for 10 laps until
• 1:00:37
we cut to Albon running slowly around the track
• 1:00:39
after his pit stop. A replay of his stop is shown
• 1:00:42
where only three of his tires are bolted down.
• 1:00:44
He limps back to the pits for another change
• 1:00:46
in comes out a lap down on the field. Perez,
• 1:00:49
who started out of point and attempted to claw
• 1:00:51
his way back, has a small incident on lap 14
• 1:00:54
going off the track and into the gravel after
• 1:00:56
a quick lockup down into the last few corners
• 1:00:58
before the starting straight. While the top of
• 1:01:01
the order remains fairly static, we get to watch
• 1:01:03
some more fights down the field, namely Yuki
• 1:01:05
overtaking Logan in the start of the S's after
• 1:01:07
a long first straight, and Hulkenberg taking
• 1:01:10
Logan on the next set of S's quickly after. After
• 1:01:13
his pit stop, Perez starts to regain control
• 1:01:15
of this car and control his race, making a couple
• 1:01:17
of easy moves into the bottom. bottom of the
• 1:01:18
points, taking 9th from Hulk and 8th from Sonoda.
• 1:01:21
Lap 47, Hulk's day gets worse as he loses the
• 1:01:24
final point position to Stroll, and 4 laps later,
• 1:01:27
Stroll's day gets better as he takes Yuki's place,
• 1:01:29
putting himself in 9th after utilizing the fresher
• 1:01:31
set of tires. The battle for 2nd between Norse
• 1:01:34
and Leclerc gets put on hold as Charles cuts
• 1:01:36
through the grassy last chicane, losing time
• 1:01:38
to Norse and falling slightly behind. By lap
• 1:01:41
46, Max is starting to feel a little under pressure
• 1:01:43
as his tires start to fall off. And he's racing
• 1:01:46
well after being given his final. And rather,
• 1:01:48
he is racing well on the edge being given his
• 1:01:50
final warning from the track limits. He is told
• 1:01:52
to focus on keeping it on track and, of course,
• 1:01:55
staying ahead of Lando. All the while, Lando
• 1:01:57
is encouraged to push towards the leader. Lando
• 1:02:00
is able to lessen the gap to 1 .6 seconds by
• 1:02:03
lap 58 when his engineer tells him that he can
• 1:02:07
push even more on certain turns. Lando drives
• 1:02:10
his car to the absolute limit, taking it to the
• 1:02:12
knife edge of the curbs, almost losing control
• 1:02:14
as he drives over them. At the end of the day,
• 1:02:17
however, Max Verstappen is still Max Verstappen.
• 1:02:19
Lando ends up closing the gap to under a second
• 1:02:21
to Max. However, Max is able to keep him behind
• 1:02:23
through the final lap, taking the win in Imola.
• 1:02:26
Our finals, Verstappen, Norris, Leclerc, Piastri,
• 1:02:30
Sainz, Hamilton, Russell, Perez, Stroll, and
• 1:02:33
Sonota. I'm a little headed. What happened? I
• 1:02:41
mean, you pounded it out. Yeah. You pounded it
• 1:02:44
out. It seemed like it was a, I mean, I don't
• 1:02:47
want to say a boring race, but it wasn't the
• 1:02:48
most exciting race ever last year. So, you know,
• 1:02:51
it's an easy track now, a ton of overtaking opportunities.
• 1:02:54
It's an older track. It is. So it does struggle
• 1:02:58
with what some of the older tracks have, that
• 1:03:00
our cars are very big now. The F1 cars are much
• 1:03:03
bigger than they used to be, so it's harder to
• 1:03:04
overtake on the track. So another week where
• 1:03:08
qualifying is going to be oh so crucial and something
• 1:03:11
that we expect. Yeah, something you've got to
• 1:03:14
think about. Other thing that will make qualifying
• 1:03:16
interesting that I failed to bring up in news
• 1:03:19
is this weekend will be the first weekend where
• 1:03:21
we will be able to use the C6 tire. which is
• 1:03:25
also previously known as the Hypersofts. They
• 1:03:29
were previously the purple tire. So they'll be
• 1:03:33
available. They will be available. I'm not saying
• 1:03:34
they have to use them, but they will be available.
• 1:03:36
But likely chance that they will use it for qualifying.
• 1:03:41
I mean, yeah. They have to. Because they are
• 1:03:44
just the fastest. They would have to, yeah. So
• 1:03:46
  there's a good chance that that'll happen. We'll
• 1:03:49
see some fast laps. Interesting. With the boys?
• 1:03:52
There will be a few boys. That's us. That's us.
• 1:03:58
Sorry, I'm a little behind. Are we doing a pod?
• 1:04:01
No. So last week in Miami, I got one point. Joe
• 1:04:07
got three. And Mike, he got four. Joe and Mike
• 1:04:11
both picking Oscar to win the race. Hello. Yellow.
• 1:04:18
That's my boy. So wait a minute. Yeah, so if
• 1:04:22
he would have put George, yeah, he would have
• 1:04:24
got, that would have been six -pointer. That's
• 1:04:27
the most we can get, yeah? Yep. Yep, yep, six.
• 1:04:30
So far, you're still the only one to get six.
• 1:04:34
You got six on the second race. Oh, that's right.
• 1:04:36
You did that. Because of George Russell. Yeah,
• 1:04:38
I did do that. Because of George Russell. The
• 1:04:39
only one. Who else? Yeah, yeah. So anyway, I'm
• 1:04:43
no longer in the lead, so I no longer have to
• 1:04:44
go first. Yeah? Mike with the four points, and
• 1:04:47
I only grabbed one this week. We did a little
• 1:04:49
switcheroo. Now is it my turn to start reminding
• 1:04:52
that I am now in the lead for the first time
• 1:04:54
in the boys' history? I mean, like you've done
• 1:04:59
every episode. Yeah. You've done every episode.
• 1:05:04
First time. First time. Look at me. I'm number
• 1:05:07
one. So I am so lost on who to pick because there's
• 1:05:15
so many. Yeah. Qualifying is going to be really
• 1:05:19
good. Well, there's so many good options that
• 1:05:22
I'm like, pretty much anything you guys say,
• 1:05:24
I'll be like, yeah, sure. That's fair. So you
• 1:05:27
should go with William. In third, I am picking
• 1:05:32
Lando Norris. Crazy. Okay. In second, I am picking
• 1:05:41
Max Verstappen. What a joke. And in first, I
• 1:05:46
am picking Oscar Piastri. And there's a little
• 1:05:49
bit of copium in that. Although I do feel like
• 1:05:52
there's a very real world where we see... Max,
• 1:05:56
qualify first. Bro's just stealing my podium
• 1:05:58
from last weekend. That's crazy. I mean, to be
• 1:06:02
honest, I lost. Yeah, true. All right, Joe. So
• 1:06:07
you should be happy, right? It's not my turn.
• 1:06:09
It's your turn. That was a good podium, by the
• 1:06:12
way. I know. You're the wild card, by the way.
• 1:06:20
I think Mike and I typically always pick the
• 1:06:22
same podium, more or less. Like, order kind of
• 1:06:26
withstanding, the people are the same. You, however,
• 1:06:30
had Charles in your podium. Hey, I picked Charles
• 1:06:33
Leclerc once. Once. Yeah, and I got points off
• 1:06:36
of him, too. He's done it almost every weekend.
• 1:06:42
Hey, you know what? This is basically a home
• 1:06:44
race for him. I have not picked... It is Italy.
• 1:06:46
I have not picked Oscar to win yet. It is Italy,
• 1:06:49
yep. Yet this year. Other than one time. Wow.
• 1:06:53
Just failing. This is also basically a home race
• 1:06:56
for Kimmy, too. It is. Yes, that's true. That's
• 1:07:00
a really... Honestly, that's a really good point.
• 1:07:03
I really want to leave Oscar off my podium just
• 1:07:06
to throw a wrench in things. But I feel like
• 1:07:08
that's not going to be smart. So we'll go Oscar
• 1:07:11
winning because it just seems like a safe choice.
• 1:07:13
I want to leave him off my podium. We're going
• 1:07:16
to keep him in the top. Oh, man. You guys are
• 1:07:27
going to. This is going to be crazy. George Russell.
• 1:07:30
I was about to say. George and Charles. George
• 1:07:33
freaking Russell and P2. Do it. Yes, let's go.
• 1:07:38
And then say Charles Sinclair. Max for seven.
• 1:07:41
Yeah, that's fair. That's probably smarter than
• 1:07:43
Charles. But Lando not on the podium. I don't
• 1:07:47
know. That makes me nervous. And George at two,
• 1:07:49
that's crazy. So whatever. You guys made my job
• 1:07:54
easy. It's Lando, Oscar, and Max. I thought about
• 1:07:57
doing Lando winning. And then I left him off
• 1:08:00
my podium. Yeah, I was going to do anything.
• 1:08:02
So just a little insight into my game. I was
• 1:08:05
going to do any opposite winner because I knew
• 1:08:07
you were going to pick Oscar Orlando. I was going
• 1:08:10
to opposite winner for you. So, yeah, Orlando.
• 1:08:12
I was trying to get a free two points this week.
• 1:08:14
That's all I'm trying to do. I was very seriously
• 1:08:16
thinking about putting Max up as my winner because
• 1:08:18
Max is super fast. And they're going to qualify
• 1:08:21
on C6s more than likely. And Max's one lap pace
• 1:08:25
is unreal. I like this track, Satasa. It's going
• 1:08:29
to be a toss -up this weekend. My gut's telling
• 1:08:33
me that Max is going to qualify first, and he's
• 1:08:35
going to take a 5 -second penalty, or like a
• 1:08:37
5 -10 -second penalty from track limits, and
• 1:08:39
he's going to get pushed down to the second.
• 1:08:41
Track limits is a great thing to bring up, too.
• 1:08:44
Because he struggled with track limits last year.
• 1:08:46
He did. And this car is a lot harder to handle
• 1:08:49
than last year's car. Okay, well, that actually
• 1:08:53
helps my thought of potentially going really
• 1:08:57
crazy and putting Kimi at three. That would have
• 1:08:59
been sick. Just to be fun. I would love to see
• 1:09:01
Kimi. But, like, I think the track limit thing,
• 1:09:03
you know, it is a skinnier track. And watching
• 1:09:07
some of these drivers the past few years that
• 1:09:09
go to their home for the first time, like, it
• 1:09:12
doesn't usually go well. Usually, yeah. So, like,
• 1:09:14
I just don't, I'm not feeling it. I could put
• 1:09:18
Kimi on a podium this year. Predictions be damned.
• 1:09:21
I would like to see Kimi. I think it would be
• 1:09:23
cool if he got a podium here. Of course, it would
• 1:09:24
be cool. It would be cool if freaking Joe Granu
• 1:09:30
  won a freaking F1 championship, but I don't know
• 1:09:33
how cool that would be. Joe Granu? What's his
• 1:09:35
name? Joe Guan Yu. See, I can't say it. I, no
• 1:09:41
joke, had no idea who you were talking about.
• 1:09:44
Yeah, Guan Yu. My bad, Joe. I saw a different
• 1:09:48
creator who was talking about how funny it's
• 1:09:51
going to be if Kimi is fighting the Ferraris
• 1:09:54
this weekend. Because what is the Tifosi going
• 1:09:56
to do? They're going to be like, who are they
• 1:09:57
going to root for? Their home team of the Ferraris
• 1:10:00
or the Italian driver? I think they can root
• 1:10:03
for both. They're going to like, Kimi will pass
• 1:10:05
or the Ferraris will pass. They'll be like, yeah!
• 1:10:07
And then Kimi will pass and they'll be like,
• 1:10:09
yeah! Screw it. Might as well. Tifosi, if there's
• 1:10:16
any Tifosi watchers, let me know. All right.
• 1:10:19
  Man, that's it, fellas. That's it. That's a wrap.
• 1:10:22
Already? That's a wrap. What do you mean already?
• 1:10:24
We're at an hour 10, dog. I could push this another
• 1:10:26
half an hour easy. We almost could have wrapped
• 1:10:27
this up at 30 minutes. That's the sad part. So
• 1:10:29
here we are. Glad you're still here with us.
• 1:10:32
We're here the next three weeks. Triple header.
• 1:10:35
Yeah. We don't have a break until Canada, until
• 1:10:38
right before Canada. Excuse me. We got Monaco
• 1:10:41
coming up, don't we? Yeah. Yep. So it's Amelia.
• 1:10:46
And I'm going to be done saying other names this
• 1:10:49
weekend. Good job. And then. Yeah, Parmesan,
• 1:10:51
Romeo, and then... Parmesan, Romero. Yeah. And
• 1:10:56
then I think it's Monaco, and then it's Spain.
• 1:11:00
Is it Monaco after Ebola? I think so, yeah. I'm
• 1:11:02
pretty sure. I'm pretty sure Monaco's next. And
• 1:11:04
we got the Spain, J -Pay. I love... J -Pay. I
• 1:11:08
love España. All right, don't forget to like,
• 1:11:11
comment, subscribe, wherever you listen to the
• 1:11:13
band, or whether that's YouTube, Spotify, Apple
• 1:11:15
Podcast, or iHeartRadio. Don't know what happened
• 1:11:19
  there. That's it. Peace.
